- 0:01Speaker 1: The Blazed and Confused podcast is rated M for marijuana.
- 0:04Speaker 1: No minors, mature audiences only. You're going to be in
- 0:09Speaker 1: a show? What's it called?
- 0:10Speaker 2: Popcorn Pushers.
- 0:12Speaker 1: It's an online.
- 0:12Speaker 2: That sounds a little kinky, doesn't it? Now that you
- 0:16Speaker 2: mention it, yeah.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Pushers of popcorn. I don't know.
- 0:18Speaker 2: It's a workplace comedy.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Where you push them, huh?
- 0:21Speaker 2: Workplace comedy based at a movie theater.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Oh, cool. Okay.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Not a casting couch kind of movie theater.
- 0:27Speaker 1: But I'd see both. Yeah. It's fun.
- 0:30Speaker 2: If it's got Tyler Rothrock in it, I'm going to
- 0:33Speaker 2: be there.
- 0:35Speaker 3: He's not in it. We just use his mom's house.
- 0:37Speaker 3: She has a really nice garden. It gets kinkier as
- 0:40Speaker 3: the time goes on.
- 0:41Speaker 1: It's amazing. Yeah.
- 0:43Speaker 2: I was talking to his mom about her bush.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Oh, wow. And we start with quite a wide swing,
- 0:49Speaker 1: don't we? Yeah.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I mean, we went from being outside watching your dog
- 0:53Speaker 2: poop and cheering her on.
- 0:56Speaker 1: It was impressive.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Do you think she hated that, by the way?
- 0:59Speaker 1: Probably. Oh, yeah.
- 1:00Speaker 2: How would you feel being in the bathroom and some
- 1:02Speaker 2: guy going, Doing a good job.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Give it all you got, man.
- 1:08Speaker 3: I was just at some several rest stops along the
- 1:10Speaker 3: way on a road trip. And there's always someone in
- 1:12Speaker 3: there on a phone conversation in.
- 1:14Speaker 1: The, you know. Oh, yeah. That's so awkward.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Just like, why are you talking?
- 1:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:19Speaker 4: I'm noticing this. I'm going to the gym a lot
- 1:21Speaker 4: more now as we talked about. And I'm noticing there's
- 1:23Speaker 4: signs everywhere in the gym. Don't talk on your phone
- 1:26Speaker 4: in the gym. But yet people do it.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Are they on their AirPods or are people just on speakerphone?
- 1:31Speaker 1: All of the above. Oh, my God. All of the above.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Anyone who talks on their phone.
- 1:34Speaker 3: I'm not sure which I hate more because the AirPods,
- 1:36Speaker 3: it's like you think they're talking to you.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Yeah. And sometimes it's like an aggressive thing.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I'm like, what? What did you say?
- 1:40Speaker 5: Huh?
- 1:42Speaker 2: It's like, oh, you're an asshole talking on your earphone.
- 1:45Speaker 3: And similarly related, recently I've seen, you know, more at concerts,
- 1:49Speaker 3: like people like FaceTiming with their partner or something. And
- 1:52Speaker 3: you see there, you see there, you see there, they're
- 1:55Speaker 3: shooting at the thing, but then you just see the
- 1:56Speaker 3: person and it's like a woman, like half asleep, like
- 1:59Speaker 3: just on a, on a pillow, like, like, oh yeah,
- 2:02Speaker 3: she's really enjoying this. I was at the 4th of
- 2:04Speaker 3: July fireworks extravaganza at our local ballpark here in the
- 2:07Speaker 3: one year. And somebody was FaceTiming with somebody while the
- 2:11Speaker 3: fireworks were going off. And I got to stand behind
- 2:14Speaker 3: these people and she had her phone on. And this
- 2:16Speaker 3: young girl was just like, She didn't even want to
- 2:20Speaker 3: watch this at all. It was like her mom insisted,
- 2:22Speaker 3: you know.
- 2:22Speaker 1: But yeah.
- 2:23Speaker 2: You're here with us. There's a reason she's not. She's like, mom,
- 2:27Speaker 2: I just want to be drinking somewhere right now. She
- 2:30Speaker 2: probably was.
- 2:31Speaker 4: When people say that phones have ruined the world, I
- 2:34Speaker 4: might not disagree with that, you know?
- 2:36Speaker 1: I agree. It's crazy.
- 2:39Speaker 2: People used to talk to people and do things and
- 2:41Speaker 2: hang out back in the day i mean i still
- 2:43Speaker 2: don't want to do that but i know annoyingly at
- 2:46Speaker 2: least we have can i take you out for your
- 2:47Speaker 2: birthday is like yeah in about six months i said
- 2:49Speaker 2: yeah i'm just fucking you know what in my defense
- 2:51Speaker 2: in that in that instance that you just brought up
- 2:54Speaker 2: there can you take me off i said.
- 2:56Speaker 4: Yes when would you like to go well you kept
- 2:58Speaker 4: saying next week you said next week about three times now.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Have i done that oh yeah Oh, I didn't mean
- 3:04Speaker 2: anything by it.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I love that.
- 3:06Speaker 2: But you've been busy. You have like your gigs and stuff.
- 3:08Speaker 1: No, you're right. I have been very busy. Yes.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Tell people what you've been doing besides giving me shit.
- 3:14Speaker 2: And watching your dog shit.
- 3:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:16Speaker 2: And watching your dog shit.
- 3:17Speaker 1: I normally don't watch her. we were going, yeah, Lucy.
- 3:22Speaker 1: So there's services.
- 3:23Speaker 4: There's like, you know, there's services now that you can
- 3:25Speaker 4: hire somebody to come pick up dog shit in your backyard.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Tempting.
- 3:29Speaker 4: However, honestly, like I scooped her shit for two weeks
- 3:33Speaker 4: when I moved in here and then I gave up.
- 3:35Speaker 1: And honestly, I think that when you, I know this
- 3:38Speaker 1: is like a landmine out there. Is that what you're saying?
- 3:40Speaker 1: Hear me out. Hear me out.
- 3:41Speaker 4: I think when the shit sits out there and it
- 3:43Speaker 4: dries up, it's no big deal. It just like kind
- 3:46Speaker 4: of wilts away. It goes into the universe. You know
- 3:48Speaker 4: what I mean?
- 3:49Speaker 1: It blows away. Like it gets all like, you know
- 3:52Speaker 1: what I mean?
- 3:52Speaker 2: Like when it, when it sits out there for a
- 3:54Speaker 2: little bit and it gets harder when your waist wastes away.
- 3:57Speaker 1: It's been windy the past couple of days. It just
- 4:00Speaker 1: like blows away.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Yeah. Or does it, I mean, I guess maybe it
- 4:03Speaker 2: could attract other animals to like scope this shit out.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Maybe you also like you're going to step in it eventually.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Honestly though, I don't, I think it goes into the earth.
- 4:13Speaker 4: I literally mow the lawn. And I wear different shoes, obviously,
- 4:17Speaker 4: to mow the lawn. But there's never dog shit on
- 4:19Speaker 4: the bottom of my shoes. Explain that to me. Where
- 4:21Speaker 4: does it go?
- 4:22Speaker 2: The universe swallows up. It goes into the mower and
- 4:25Speaker 2: it chews back out at you. You're just spraying shit everywhere.
- 4:27Speaker 2: You know you're doing it.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I don't think so. I don't think so.
- 4:31Speaker 3: It goes back into the earth.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Speaking of my yard, I do have the highest grass
- 4:37Speaker 4: on the block right now. But it's gotten cold enough
- 4:40Speaker 4: now where I'm like, I don't know. I'm just going
- 4:42Speaker 4: to wait until it.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Frost.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Do it like one more time.
- 4:46Speaker 5: I know.
- 4:47Speaker 4: I know I should be doing it one more time,
- 4:48Speaker 4: but it's too cold now. And now I'm like, I
- 4:50Speaker 4: suddenly like really don't give a fuck at all about
- 4:52Speaker 4: the yard now.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Isn't that crazy?
- 4:54Speaker 2: Like I went from, oh man, maybe I like added
- 4:57Speaker 2: every once a week. I was.
- 4:59Speaker 4: And then I was like, oh my God, maybe I
- 5:00Speaker 4: should remulch my yard before like it gets cold. Now
- 5:04Speaker 4: suddenly it was 60 degrees one day and I'm like, well,
- 5:06Speaker 4: too cold and I don't.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Give a fuck. Oh, well, you'll get to it. Ben's here,
- 5:12Speaker 2: by the way.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Ben! Bowtie Ben. Can we call you Bowtie Ben? Of course.
- 5:16Speaker 2: It's season. I was there the other day for preseason
- 5:20Speaker 2: game number one.
- 5:20Speaker 1: That's right.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Preseason game number two and then home opener October 3rd.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Tell people who you are and all the things you
- 5:27Speaker 2: do over there. I'm Bowtie Ben.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I rock the mic over at PPL Center since first
- 5:33Speaker 3: game of 2014.
- 5:34Speaker 2: So this is wow.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Really? Isn't that awesome?
- 5:37Speaker 2: Lucky season 13.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah.
- 5:40Speaker 2: So good for you. I remember, I remember when you
- 5:43Speaker 2: were auditioning.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 5:46Speaker 2: We've known each other quite a while now. What was
- 5:48Speaker 2: the audition process like?
- 5:49Speaker 3: Uh, so it was me and, uh, Rick Michaels actually
- 5:52Speaker 3: was kind of in on it. He was, he was, uh,
- 5:55Speaker 3: he was auditioning to be the PA guy.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Yep. at the time, and I was going in there
- 5:59Speaker 2: for the host position.
- 6:01Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I had to say something.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Imagine how often that guy would call out for that gig.
- 6:07Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Ben, you would end up doing everything, my guy. You
- 6:11Speaker 2: would have the job anyway. You'd be the PA announcer
- 6:13Speaker 2: and you'd be Bowtie, but you'd be everywhere. You'd only
- 6:16Speaker 2: get paid for one of them. Anyway, I should stop talking.
- 6:20Speaker 2: But Bowtie Ben is here. Yeah, I'm here.
- 6:22Speaker 3: I'll be back on the microphone for the 13th season
- 6:24Speaker 3: of Phantom's hockey.
- 6:26Speaker 2: We're going to have some fun.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Very cool.
- 6:28Speaker 3: And, uh, yeah, I'm also with molten metal media, my
- 6:31Speaker 3: social media agency, uh, running lots of cool social media channels,
- 6:36Speaker 3: lots of fun stuff. And then my friend said popcorn
- 6:37Speaker 3: pushers as well. So I'm in the cast now and, uh,
- 6:40Speaker 3: run their social.
- 6:41Speaker 1: So, Sweet, man.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Supporting local artists. Where can people follow that Popcorn Pushers thing?
- 6:46Speaker 3: That's at Popcorn Pushers.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Easy as that. Yeah, exactly.
- 6:50Speaker 2: You can follow me at Molten Metal Media or at
- 6:53Speaker 2: Bowtie Ben Host.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Did you know how to skate before you auditioned for
- 6:57Speaker 4: the job as Bowtie Ben?
- 6:58Speaker 2: I honestly don't skate there at all.
- 7:00Speaker 1: You don't? You just run on the ice. I run
- 7:02Speaker 1: on the ice.
- 7:02Speaker 3: So like the times I'm out there nowadays, especially is
- 7:08Speaker 3: like during the intermission. So it's before the Zamboni has
- 7:10Speaker 3: gone out there. And it's after the players have played
- 7:13Speaker 3: 20 minutes of hockey. So like there's all the grooves
- 7:17Speaker 3: and the ice, just like the powder of the ice.
- 7:19Speaker 3: So there's grip. Like I can kind of run or not.
- 7:22Speaker 3: I wouldn't like sprint, but I could like jog on
- 7:24Speaker 3: there and feel comfortable.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I never noticed that. I could have sworn you.
- 7:28Speaker 3: I don't just because it's so hard because sometimes I
- 7:30Speaker 3: got to like host a game on the ice and
- 7:32Speaker 3: then like I got to come off the ice and
- 7:33Speaker 3: read the birthdays. And then like two minutes later, I
- 7:35Speaker 3: got to be on the stage for another game or something.
- 7:38Speaker 3: So just taking on and off with skates and shoes
- 7:40Speaker 3: would be a pain in the butt.
- 7:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:42Speaker 1: So, uh, have you ever skated? I do skate though.
- 7:45Speaker 1: I did.
- 7:45Speaker 3: I used to play, uh, like roller hockey and, uh,
- 7:47Speaker 3: I did ice skate a little bit. Every time I
- 7:49Speaker 3: go ice skating, like it takes me like a few
- 7:51Speaker 3: laps around and be like, okay, I can got my
- 7:53Speaker 3: feet under me at least.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Uh, so I can, I can skate if, uh, if
- 7:57Speaker 2: I don't know how people do that shit, man. I
- 7:59Speaker 2: grew up skating.
- 8:00Speaker 1: I know.
- 8:00Speaker 4: I don't know how you people do that. I, any
- 8:02Speaker 4: of the skating, ice skating, uh, What's the other one?
- 8:06Speaker 1: Roller skating. Rollerblading. Rollerblading. That's even crazier.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Rollerblading is easier than roller skating to me.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Oh, that's nice.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Oh, dude, we should go roller skating.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Oh, my God, no.
- 8:15Speaker 2: That'd be so much fun. Absolutely not. Just watching him
- 8:18Speaker 2: run into the rails just to stop. Yeah, I did
- 8:21Speaker 2: that one time.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Maybe once or twice.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Yeah. No, let's take you ice skating.
- 8:25Speaker 1: I've done that. Because there's a lot more danger. I've
- 8:26Speaker 1: done that once.
- 8:27Speaker 2: There's a lot more danger. There's even more danger into it.
- 8:29Speaker 1: I did that one time. Hated it.
- 8:31Speaker 2: You can face plant and you can... slice your neck open.
- 8:35Speaker 1: It's even scary. It's too cold too. I don't know.
- 8:38Speaker 1: What's the, what's the appeal in that? Ice skating? Yeah.
- 8:41Speaker 1: It's fun. Is it?
- 8:42Speaker 2: I'm a sweaty boy. So I like, you go around
- 8:44Speaker 2: in a circle.
- 8:46Speaker 1: How was that fun?
- 8:47Speaker 2: You have an ice skating rink. You can do more
- 8:49Speaker 2: than a circle.
- 8:51Speaker 4: I went with a group of friends once in New
- 8:53Speaker 4: York and we skated at what's it called? Rockefeller center,
- 8:56Speaker 4: which first off you got to pay an arm and
- 8:57Speaker 4: a leg and then you got to wait around all day.
- 8:59Speaker 2: By the way, I might be going there for the
- 9:00Speaker 2: first time ever.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I don't remember. No, don't do that.
- 9:03Speaker 2: I wouldn't waste a fucking time.
- 9:04Speaker 1: No.
- 9:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:05Speaker 4: You got to pay all this money. You got to
- 9:06Speaker 4: like reserve it months in advance. You pay all this
- 9:08Speaker 4: money and then you wait in line all day and
- 9:10Speaker 4: then you, and the whole time I'm thinking.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Is it time to like, do you have to be
- 9:14Speaker 2: out of there in like 35 minutes or something?
- 9:16Speaker 4: I have no idea, honestly, because I just was so
- 9:19Speaker 4: miserable the whole time and I just held the side
- 9:21Speaker 4: of it and thought, I can't believe I paid. I
- 9:22Speaker 4: don't even know how much it was. I tried to
- 9:24Speaker 4: etch it out of my memory. It was not a
- 9:27Speaker 4: great experience. There's a rink at Bryant Park, too. It's
- 9:28Speaker 4: probably cheaper.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Yeah, probably. It's a nicer.
- 9:32Speaker 4: What's the appeal of that? Go around in a circle,
- 9:34Speaker 4: even if you can do it. It's like, aren't you
- 9:36Speaker 4: tired of this?
- 9:37Speaker 1: You feel better?
- 9:37Speaker 3: You clearly never brought a significant other there because you
- 9:40Speaker 3: can hold their hand so they don't fall.
- 9:42Speaker 1: He's not going to be the one falling.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Arena host, Bowtie Ben. You have the social media marketing group. Yeah.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Metal Media.
- 9:52Speaker 2: You're in a band too. You have a lot going on.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Yeah, too much.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Yeah, midsummer.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Trying to get more gigs. So if you want some,
- 9:57Speaker 3: you know, original prog rock. from the lehigh valley we
- 10:00Speaker 3: also do some cool uh covers as well working on
- 10:04Speaker 3: uh recording our second ep uh hopefully this winter i've
- 10:07Speaker 3: been saying that for months but you know we'll get
- 10:09Speaker 3: there it's not winter yet so it's not winter yet
- 10:11Speaker 3: of course it's there so yeah good stuff ahead.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Damn awesome bowtie ben does it all it really does
- 10:16Speaker 4: yeah The utility man.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Oh, that was a thing back in the day.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Dude. Yeah. He was a mascot. Uh, remind me, remind
- 10:23Speaker 1: me where.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Uh, I've been a mascot, uh, Syracuse university was kind
- 10:27Speaker 3: of the, my first, uh, stuff there. Uh, I've been
- 10:30Speaker 3: best friends with, uh, the mascots at several places, including
- 10:34Speaker 3: the Trenton thunder and, uh, hanging out with my boy
- 10:36Speaker 3: and girl Ferris and Fifi over at, uh, the piggies, uh,
- 10:40Speaker 3: among other places.
- 10:41Speaker 1: So yeah.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Lots of mascot friends. Ben just likes to have fun.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Jack of all trades.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Yeah, he's way better than either of us.
- 10:46Speaker 4: Also, I was thinking about this because I knew you
- 10:48Speaker 4: were coming today, and I was thinking, like, I feel
- 10:50Speaker 4: you're kind of, like, scholarly.
- 10:52Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Like, you got the brains.
- 10:55Speaker 2: I got brains behind the craziness.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I feel like you could go on
- 10:58Speaker 1: Jeopardy and, like, do well. I'd do okay. Yeah.
- 11:01Speaker 2: I think I'm more of, like, a Wheel of Fortune.
- 11:03Speaker 2: I keep, like, saying, like, which game would I want
- 11:04Speaker 2: to go on?
- 11:05Speaker 1: I'm a Wheel of Fortune.
- 11:05Speaker 2: I feel like this show is, like, a mix of
- 11:08Speaker 2: Wheel of Fortune and the other one you said, Jeff.
- 11:10Speaker 2: You know.
- 11:10Speaker 1: They brought back Pop Culture Jeopardy. I don't know if
- 11:13Speaker 1: you saw it. It's on Netflix now with Colin Jost.
- 11:15Speaker 1: He's the host. It's good.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Colin Jost is the host. I think I would do
- 11:18Speaker 2: well with that.
- 11:19Speaker 1: It's very good.
- 11:19Speaker 4: However, I feel like a freaking moron because I watch
- 11:22Speaker 4: this and I don't know any of these.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I'm like, oh my God, do I really live under
- 11:25Speaker 1: a rock?
- 11:26Speaker 4: Because the few music questions I'm getting right, but that's
- 11:30Speaker 4: about it. I really don't know shit about movies and
- 11:34Speaker 4: actors and actresses and famous people. Even when I was
- 11:37Speaker 4: in California last year, you know, we were like driving
- 11:40Speaker 4: in the car and all my friends are like, Oh my.
- 11:41Speaker 1: God, there's blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Oh, I know them on the streaming app. Episode 68.
- 11:53Speaker 2: When I start the show.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Oh yeah. Jeez.
- 11:56Speaker 2: A very talented, very entertaining guest today.
- 11:59Speaker 1: We've been blabbing. Ben Youngerman. Yeah.
- 12:02Speaker 2: We're running late. Yeah, really hit the button.
- 12:04Speaker 5: The Blazed and Confused Podcast with Becker and Joel. The
- 12:09Speaker 5: trivia podcast where truth.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Theory, and THC collide.
- 12:15Speaker 5: Let's spark your curiosity and light up some knowledge. The
- 12:19Speaker 5: Blazed and Confused Podcast with Becker and Joel starts now.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Actually, it started like a long time ago, but that's okay.
- 12:30Speaker 1: How long ago? I don't know.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Isn't that funny about time?
- 12:33Speaker 1: A couple minutes ago. Sometimes.
- 12:37Speaker 3: We could probably go out to the backyard and carbon
- 12:40Speaker 3: date the poop in the backyard and see how long
- 12:43Speaker 3: ago that was.
- 12:43Speaker 1: What does carbon date mean?
- 12:46Speaker 3: You use carbon and its deterioration to tell how much
- 12:51Speaker 3: time has passed.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Smart person.
- 12:53Speaker 3: I have no idea what you're saying. That's how you
- 12:56Speaker 3: can tell how old dinosaur bones are and stuff.
- 12:59Speaker 1: What?
- 12:59Speaker 5: No.
- 13:00Speaker 2: No. You'll get there one day. You'll open a book.
- 13:05Speaker 2: He's been reading. I've been opening... All right, so this
- 13:08Speaker 2: is my dilemma, right? I've been reading... I read now
- 13:10Speaker 2: for like at least an hour a day, or I
- 13:12Speaker 2: try to.
- 13:13Speaker 4: I skip a couple... Like I had to skip a
- 13:14Speaker 4: couple days last week when I was really, really busy.
- 13:16Speaker 4: But I'm trying to read, and I'm almost done with it.
- 13:20Speaker 4: I only have like... I have like, I don't know,
- 13:22Speaker 4: less than 50 pages probably. I'm trying to read Misery
- 13:25Speaker 4: by Stephen King because I love the movie so much.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't do movies, but I really love that movie. So.
- 13:31Speaker 4: I got the book and it's just a tough read.
- 13:35Speaker 4: It's hard, man. If you don't, do you know the
- 13:36Speaker 4: story of misery or what it's about?
- 13:37Speaker 1: Yeah. I've seen the movie. I don't know. You know?
- 13:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:40Speaker 1: So the movie. Yeah.
- 13:41Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah.
- 13:41Speaker 4: So for people that haven't seen misery, it's about this
- 13:44Speaker 4: author that gets like stuck in the, this really awful
- 13:48Speaker 4: like winter storm and he crashes his car and he's
- 13:52Speaker 4: just so happened to be saved by his biggest fan
- 13:55Speaker 4: who used to be a nurse and like side note
- 13:57Speaker 4: used to kill people. But then she like nurses him
- 13:59Speaker 4: back to health slash tries to kill him. Slash makes
- 14:03Speaker 4: him rewrite his previous books. And part of misery is
- 14:08Speaker 4: like him. getting better and recuperating, but also writing this book.
- 14:13Speaker 4: So I have to read a book within a book,
- 14:15Speaker 4: which is so fucked.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Like I, and honestly, like it's come to the point
- 14:18Speaker 1: where I just like started skipping pages.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Cause it's like, I don't give a fuck about the
- 14:22Speaker 4: book that you're writing within this book that I'm reading. Like,
- 14:25Speaker 4: so now, so now like, I don't know what to
- 14:28Speaker 4: do because part of me wants to give up on
- 14:30Speaker 4: this book altogether, but I also want to like finish
- 14:32Speaker 4: it because I don't want to quit.
- 14:34Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 14:34Speaker 2: My only suggestion would be maybe do the audio book,
- 14:38Speaker 2: finish it that way. Yeah. Kathy Bates reads misery.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Maybe that would be better than, I don't know. At
- 14:44Speaker 4: least finish that one. There's just so much irrelevant shit.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Do you find yourself like skipping ahead, like kind of
- 14:49Speaker 2: going like yada, yada, yada, yada, or I haven't been
- 14:52Speaker 2: a reader since I was, my.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Biggest problem, my biggest problem with reading still. And this
- 14:56Speaker 4: is why I, I, I mean, haven't really been a
- 14:59Speaker 4: reader up until recently.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Tell me about reading Joel.
- 15:02Speaker 4: I know I, I, my problem is I sit and read,
- 15:04Speaker 4: but I think about other shit. And before you know it,
- 15:06Speaker 4: I've read 20 pages and I have no idea what happened.
- 15:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Which is crazy.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Just like on autopilot. So this is a problem with misery.
- 15:12Speaker 4: I catch myself doing that like a lot.
- 15:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:15Speaker 1: A lot, a lot.
- 15:16Speaker 3: I have a goal to read a book about every U.S.
- 15:18Speaker 3: president and I am currently at zero of those books.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Oh, man. Don't you want to skip one in particular
- 15:27Speaker 1: or maybe two? I could think of two that I
- 15:29Speaker 1: would skip.
- 15:29Speaker 2: We'll let history pass a little before that, before a
- 15:32Speaker 2: couple of them. There's one I would definitely skip. Well, yeah,
- 15:35Speaker 2: but think about that. Goddamn John Adams. Number two. That's
- 15:41Speaker 2: very funny.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Wasn't John Adams a piece of shit?
- 15:44Speaker 2: No, he was actually really good. Was he? He was
- 15:46Speaker 2: actually one of my favorites.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Yeah. You're in the presidents, you know, the presidents. Uh,
- 15:50Speaker 1: well enough. Yeah.
- 15:51Speaker 3: More revolutionary history. He was, he was big on, you know, he, he, uh, defended, uh,
- 15:56Speaker 3: like the British soldiers, uh, in court. Cause he believed
- 16:00Speaker 3: in like, you know, the rule of law, even if
- 16:02Speaker 3: you don't, you know, believe in the people or you
- 16:04Speaker 3: don't believe in there.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:06Speaker 2: You know, you still believe in their rights and stuff
- 16:08Speaker 2: like that. Um, He was the one that said Independence
- 16:12Speaker 2: Day would be celebrated on July 2nd, not July 4th.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Because that's the day they actually ratified it. And then
- 16:18Speaker 2: it took them like two days to like write an explanation.
- 16:21Speaker 2: But like they voted on becoming a native. This is
- 16:24Speaker 2: so interesting. And a nation on July 2nd. And he
- 16:26Speaker 2: wrote in his old books like, July 2nd will be
- 16:29Speaker 2: met with pomp and circumstance and fireworks forevermore and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 16:34Speaker 2: And you know the fact about him and Jefferson's death day?
- 16:39Speaker 2: It was the same day. They died on the same day.
- 16:40Speaker 2: That was one of our trivia questions. Oh, I was
- 16:42Speaker 2: going to say, I feel like I've heard this before.
- 16:44Speaker 2: July 4th, 1826, the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Remember that? We talked about that. I don't remember that.
- 16:53Speaker 1: One of our smartest guests. Yeah, that was impressive. You
- 16:56Speaker 1: sure you don't read? You sound like you read. I
- 16:57Speaker 1: don't read.
- 16:58Speaker 2: I just paid attention in school. Do me a favor, Joel.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Read question 10 on the rapid round sheet.
- 17:03Speaker 1: I would. You didn't give me my shit. Oh, here, Joel.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Read this question 10. Did I just steal a question?
- 17:09Speaker 2: On the rapid round sheet.
- 17:13Speaker 1: No way. Unplanned. Who was the second president?
- 17:17Speaker 2: Wow. I swear I didn't look at the notes. It's
- 17:20Speaker 2: a weird day. That was weird. Well, you got that
- 17:24Speaker 2: one right.
- 17:24Speaker 1: I got it right already. Wow. All right. Well, let's
- 17:27Speaker 1: do the rapid round then, shall we? All right, here
- 17:28Speaker 1: we go. The game begins in three, two, one.
- 17:33Speaker 4: All right, Ben, what do you call a group of lions?
- 17:39Speaker 1: A pride? A pride. Wow.
- 17:40Speaker 2: What is the world's largest island? Antarctica. No. No, it's not?
- 17:46Speaker 5: No.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Australia. No. No?
- 17:48Speaker 2: It's still a continent, I guess.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Damn it. What's the only fruit to have its seeds
- 17:52Speaker 1: on the outside?
- 17:53Speaker 2: A strawberry?
- 17:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:56Speaker 2: What gas makes balloons float?
- 17:58Speaker 1: Helium. Yeah.
- 17:59Speaker 2: What's the only sport ever played on the moon?
- 18:03Speaker 1: Golf. Yes.
- 18:04Speaker 2: According to the Guinness World Records, what is the most
- 18:07Speaker 2: commonly used letter in the English language? E.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Yes.
- 18:09Speaker 5: Yes.
- 18:10Speaker 1: What's the name of the winged horse in Greek mythology? Pegasus? Yeah.
- 18:15Speaker 2: What is a deep, wide trench that surrounds a castle called?
- 18:20Speaker 1: Yo ass. A moat.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Yeah. What's the square root of 144?
- 18:26Speaker 1: 12. Yeah.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Who is the second president of the United States?
- 18:34Speaker 1: John Adams. Yeah.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Wow. First to live in the White House.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Well done.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Yeah, because it was still being built, right? I told
- 18:42Speaker 2: you you're a scholar. Very, very smart. Educational podcast. See,
- 18:47Speaker 2: he probably listens to our show. That's why he's so smart.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Is that why?
- 18:50Speaker 2: That makes sense to me. I crave answers now that
- 18:53Speaker 2: I listen to this show.
- 18:55Speaker 1: So do we.
- 18:56Speaker 2: What do you call a group of lions? You got
- 18:58Speaker 2: that one right. We did this one before. I think
- 19:02Speaker 2: I asked you this and that you said lines.
- 19:05Speaker 1: What? We asked this question before. But anyway, lions. You
- 19:08Speaker 1: got that.
- 19:08Speaker 2: It was a pride question. The world's largest island.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Yeah, what did you say? You said Australia. Antarctica. Antarctica.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Any other guesses here before we.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Oh, I feel like I know this, but.
- 19:19Speaker 1: I think we kind of like own them now. That's
- 19:20Speaker 1: a big hint. Might be one of ours. Oh.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Hawaii?
- 19:24Speaker 1: Oh, Greenland. Greenland. Yeah. Strawberries. We're sorry. They got the
- 19:31Speaker 1: seeds on the outside. We should apologize to the people
- 19:33Speaker 1: that live in Greenland. Probably. For all our Greenlandian listeners,
- 19:37Speaker 1: we're sorry. Is that what they're called? Greenlandians. Now they are. Cool.
- 19:40Speaker 1: I like that word.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Greenlanders?
- 19:42Speaker 1: Greenlanders. Maybe it's that. Now Americans, no.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Seeds on the outside. You got strawberry, the gas that
- 19:49Speaker 2: makes it. balloons float. That would be helium. You did
- 19:51Speaker 2: get that one.
- 19:52Speaker 1: What else did we learn? What else did we learn?
- 19:55Speaker 1: We learned that the only sport ever played on the moon, golf. Yeah,
- 19:59Speaker 1: that's right. If you believe in the moon landing. Correct answer, none.
- 20:03Speaker 1: If you believe in it. If you believe in the
- 20:04Speaker 1: moon landing, yes. Lying bullshit.
- 20:06Speaker 2: That's what they play on the moon.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Lies.
- 20:11Speaker 2: According to the Guinness, shouldn't it be Book of World Records? Well,
- 20:15Speaker 2: they have a book, but they also are just known
- 20:17Speaker 2: as the Guinness World Records.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Oh, are they?
- 20:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Okay. No relation to the beer, right? No, different. Different?
- 20:23Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 20:23Speaker 1: That should just be one whole family.
- 20:25Speaker 2: I did spell it wrong. I'm surprised you didn't call
- 20:27Speaker 2: that out.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Gissness. Gissness. Gissness.
- 20:33Speaker 2: What is the most commonly used letter in the English language?
- 20:36Speaker 2: That would be the letter E.
- 20:37Speaker 4: This is giving me flashbacks to Misery by Stephen King
- 20:40Speaker 4: because you know what bullshit I read this morning?
- 20:43Speaker 1: Guess what? The E on his typewriter broke. It's annoying.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Don't you hate when that happens?
- 20:47Speaker 2: You know why it's annoying? It's the most commonly used
- 20:49Speaker 2: letter in the English language. Actually, that was in the book.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Huh. Was it really?
- 20:54Speaker 2: He said, I'm losing my mind because the most fucking
- 20:56Speaker 2: commonly used letter in the English language is now gone
- 20:59Speaker 2: from my typewriter.
- 21:00Speaker 1: It's a weird day. Yeah, all these giants. It's a
- 21:04Speaker 1: weird day.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Pegasus, you got that. Mote, or your big ass, you
- 21:08Speaker 2: had said. The square root of 144 is 12. I
- 21:11Speaker 2: have no.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Idea how square roots work. Couldn't do them.
- 21:15Speaker 2: I don't get square roots. I just know my times tables.
- 21:20Speaker 1: I don't know those either.
- 21:21Speaker 2: 1 times 12 is 144. So the square root of
- 21:24Speaker 2: 1 is 1. 2 times 2 is 4. That is
- 21:26Speaker 2: the most useless form of arithmetic ever. I mean, really
- 21:31Speaker 2: like where, where do you apply square rootage in, in
- 21:36Speaker 2: normal life? I don't know, but it's easy. Rootage. It's not,
- 21:42Speaker 2: it's not a hard concept to grasp.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Maybe when you get the bigger numbers, it's harder to
- 21:47Speaker 2: calculate in your brain.
- 21:48Speaker 4: I was always taught to put a square root in
- 21:50Speaker 4: a calculator, honestly, because like, like math for me in
- 21:54Speaker 4: school was sitting with a calculator for 99.9% of the class.
- 21:56Speaker 5: Huh?
- 21:58Speaker 2: And just making boobs come out of it?
- 22:00Speaker 1: Pretty much, yeah. What is it? Three, zero, three? Well, no. See,
- 22:05Speaker 1: I can't do the numbers.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Wait, 8-8-8-8-8-0-0-8. Wait.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Yeah. Eight zero zero one.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Well, technically you would spell it backwards. Yeah, you'd spell
- 22:18Speaker 2: it backwards.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Yeah, right. So three.
- 22:20Speaker 2: No, no.
- 22:23Speaker 1: You were doing it already. No, S. Boobies. Yeah, S. Backwards.
- 22:27Speaker 1: What's that? Three.
- 22:28Speaker 5: No.
- 22:29Speaker 1: S is not three?
- 22:30Speaker 2: I don't think my calculator had enough spaces for boobies.
- 22:33Speaker 1: It's five.
- 22:34Speaker 2: And then the three is the E. All right, all right.
- 22:38Speaker 1: I is one.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Eight zero zero eight. It's in the shape of the letter.
- 22:45Speaker 3: This isn't even math. It's just like that. It's a
- 22:48Speaker 3: number that looks like a letter. We all have our
- 22:51Speaker 3: strengths and weaknesses. I can't do numbers without a calculator.
- 22:55Speaker 3: I even have the extent of.
- 22:56Speaker 4: Me using numbers is like, you know, BPM beats per
- 22:59Speaker 4: minutes on songs. And that's about it. And sometimes I
- 23:02Speaker 4: even struggle with that. Let me tell you. You got
- 23:04Speaker 4: to divide sometimes.
- 23:05Speaker 1: I get it, buddy. It's okay.
- 23:07Speaker 2: The drive-thru menus, the combos go up to like 10
- 23:10Speaker 2: or 11, you know?
- 23:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:11Speaker 4: And last night I'm like, oh my God, what's 150
- 23:13Speaker 4: divided by two?
- 23:16Speaker 1: Great. Where's my phone? Oh no, dude, that's an easy one.
- 23:20Speaker 4: Oh, come on. I wouldn't even think about it. I
- 23:22Speaker 4: would just automatically get my phone. I wouldn't even think
- 23:24Speaker 4: about it.
- 23:25Speaker 1: That's not good, man.
- 23:28Speaker 2: We're going right into random thoughts pretty much without pressing
- 23:30Speaker 2: the button.
- 23:31Speaker 1: This whole podcast is one big random thought. It's a
- 23:33Speaker 1: giant one. Blazed and confused. Random thoughts.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Read the top one. I want your opinion. And we
- 23:40Speaker 2: might get some sound for this one, maybe.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Becker. I read Becker's random thoughts.
- 23:45Speaker 4: The song Ebony Eyes by Bob Welsh sounds like the
- 23:49Speaker 4: music Home Depot uses. I haven't looked it up to
- 23:54Speaker 4: see if it's true. Where are you coming up with this?
- 23:57Speaker 2: I heard this song the other day, and I thought
- 23:59Speaker 2: it was the Home Depot music bed as soon as
- 24:03Speaker 2: it started.
- 24:05Speaker 1: That one? Yeah. I think. Listen to it. Let's pull
- 24:09Speaker 1: it up. You've heard?
- 24:09Speaker 2: I heard it the other day, played in a store.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Which song again? It's called Ebony Eyes by Bob Welch.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Oh, it does.
- 24:29Speaker 2: All right. Now play the Home Depot thing. What do
- 24:37Speaker 2: you think? It's like some more keys.
- 24:44Speaker 3: It's got some more groove.
- 24:52Speaker 1: That part may be a little bit. That's the part.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:57Speaker 1: I can hear it a little bit. All right. Anyway.
- 24:59Speaker 2: I heard that the other day and I was like, oh.
- 25:01Speaker 2: I wonder if Home Depot.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Still uses that.
- 25:03Speaker 4: I feel like I don't hear that as much anymore.
- 25:05Speaker 1: I think they do. Do they? I think that. It's
- 25:06Speaker 1: probably all copyrighted. Please don't sue us. Please.
- 25:09Speaker 2: We're commenting. We're looking for a sponsor. Home Depot sponsor
- 25:14Speaker 2: us here.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Yes, please. Should we practice our commercial? Yeah, let's try it.
- 25:18Speaker 1: I bought my lawnmower at the Home Depot. It's true.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I'll tell you what. I went to Lowe's. Their lawnmowers
- 25:24Speaker 1: fucking suck. That's why I went to Home Depot. I know.
- 25:27Speaker 2: That's where I get my wood. I used to go
- 25:31Speaker 2: to Lowe's, but their wood is shit. So I went
- 25:34Speaker 2: to Home Depot. Shop online at HomeDepot.com. Give a disclaimer quick.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Terms and restrictions apply. See dealer for details. Dealer for details?
- 25:45Speaker 1: What fucking dealer?
- 25:46Speaker 2: That's an easy one. Terms and conditions apply.
- 25:51Speaker 1: What else?
- 25:52Speaker 2: I'll read this next one. This is a kind of
- 25:53Speaker 2: like a, just a PSA. Gas is still $ 4.
- 25:55Speaker 1: 59 a gallon.
- 25:57Speaker 4: By my house, by Becker's house, because I'm reading his
- 25:59Speaker 4: random thoughts. It hasn't changed since last week. So I
- 26:03Speaker 4: guess that means we're winning.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so, right? Like no change is good
- 26:06Speaker 2: at this point, right? You're going to hate the fact
- 26:08Speaker 2: that we're winning so bigly. I know.
- 26:10Speaker 3: I was just on a road trip and thankfully it
- 26:12Speaker 3: was cheaper in like Kentucky, but I saw several places
- 26:15Speaker 3: with diesel over $ 7.
- 26:16Speaker 2: That's crazy. You know, there's a gas station right up
- 26:20Speaker 2: the road from here.
- 26:21Speaker 4: That's like notoriously the cheapest gas station around, right?
- 26:24Speaker 2: And I always go to this gas station. I had
- 26:26Speaker 2: a wedding in the middle of nowhere. I had to
- 26:27Speaker 2: drive all over God's green earth this past weekend.
- 26:30Speaker 4: So last week on Friday before my gig, I went
- 26:32Speaker 4: to this cheap gas station and I filled my tank halfway.
- 26:36Speaker 4: I had half a tank. So I wanted to give
- 26:38Speaker 4: it another half to equal a full tank. See, look,
- 26:40Speaker 4: I'm good at fractions.
- 26:41Speaker 1: You're doing all right. That's math. I'm impressed.
- 26:44Speaker 4: It was $ 46 for me to get half a tank
- 26:48Speaker 4: of gas.
- 26:49Speaker 1: What the fuck? And I'm getting regular gas. This ain't
- 26:52Speaker 1: no fancy gas. Some people get fancy gas. I get
- 26:56Speaker 1: the regular gas. Yeah, I do too. I'm a regular
- 26:58Speaker 1: gas kind of guy. What about you?
- 27:00Speaker 2: Regular gas.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Yeah, regular gas.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Whatever gets me a point A to point B, I
- 27:02Speaker 2: don't care.
- 27:03Speaker 4: If the regular gas is expensive, that means the fancy
- 27:06Speaker 4: gas must be really expensive.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Really expensive.
- 27:08Speaker 4: So if you're a fancy gas person and fancy gas
- 27:11Speaker 4: gets really expensive, do you go to the regular gas then?
- 27:15Speaker 1: Or do you have to stick with the fancy gas?
- 27:17Speaker 2: Oh, does your car only take the fancy gas?
- 27:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:19Speaker 1: I don't know. How's that work?
- 27:20Speaker 2: It's accustomed to that fancy gas and probably is going to...
- 27:23Speaker 2: turn it to its, I don't know, a bougie version
- 27:25Speaker 2: of itself. I don't fucking know.
- 27:27Speaker 1: What a waste.
- 27:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Four 60 or it was a four 59 a gallon
- 27:31Speaker 2: by my house.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Still. He's doing such a good job. I'm trusting the process.
- 27:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Nothing's wrong.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Nothing's wrong. What does this say?
- 27:38Speaker 2: Why Trump turned down the deal with Iran?
- 27:41Speaker 4: We're not a political, we're not a political podcast.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Stop reading the TV.
- 27:45Speaker 2: World cup fails to stop us. Tourism slide.
- 27:50Speaker 1: What else is new? Right?
- 27:51Speaker 4: I tell you, I have to keep the TV on
- 27:53Speaker 4: all the time just in case the world officially comes
- 27:55Speaker 4: to an end.
- 27:56Speaker 1: I want to have a good idea that it's coming.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Some kind of heads up. I do, yeah. I think
- 28:00Speaker 1: it's coming.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Gotta delete your browser history. Just so when the aliens
- 28:07Speaker 3: come down.
- 28:08Speaker 4: I have a random thought. If you weren't doing the
- 28:10Speaker 4: job that you were doing now, what job would you
- 28:12Speaker 4: be doing?
- 28:14Speaker 1: You guys are employed? Yeah, really.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Barely. What would I be doing if I didn't do
- 28:21Speaker 2: what I do now?
- 28:22Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 28:23Speaker 4: Well, let me ask you, what was your missed opportunity job?
- 28:27Speaker 4: Like something that you thought you could do or should
- 28:30Speaker 4: have done, but didn't.
- 28:32Speaker 2: I would really like to fly a plane one day
- 28:33Speaker 2: at some point. I thought a pilot would be cool.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Nice.
- 28:36Speaker 2: You can still do that. Yeah, I probably could.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:40Speaker 5: No.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Too scary. I mean, hey, you do you, but I
- 28:43Speaker 1: don't know.
- 28:44Speaker 4: Those little planes, it's not the big planes that crash.
- 28:47Speaker 1: It's the little ones. And you got to learn on
- 28:49Speaker 1: the little ones.
- 28:50Speaker 2: If I learn to be a pilot, and I was like, Joel,
- 28:53Speaker 2: I can take you to Florida. Do you want to
- 28:55Speaker 2: go to Florida? Do you trust me enough to fly you?
- 28:57Speaker 1: I don't know. I will say you are a very
- 28:59Speaker 1: good driver of the car. Thank you.
- 29:03Speaker 4: But I don't know if that necessarily translates to a plane.
- 29:06Speaker 4: And with the plane, especially those little tiny fucking ones. Again,
- 29:09Speaker 4: there's too much shit that can go wrong.
- 29:11Speaker 2: I don't know. I think I would have enjoyed being
- 29:13Speaker 2: a pilot. I think I would have found like that
- 29:15Speaker 2: line of work.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 29:17Speaker 2: I follow these like plane things on aviation groups online
- 29:20Speaker 2: and stuff and watch planes.
- 29:21Speaker 1: So your algorithm is giving you flight simulation. A lot
- 29:25Speaker 1: of that. Yeah. Okay.
- 29:26Speaker 4: So my algorithm has always been giving me teacher videos
- 29:30Speaker 4: like elementary school teacher videos. Dude, I am so inspired
- 29:34Speaker 4: by this. I will literally sit here and watch these
- 29:36Speaker 4: videos for like hours on end. I feel like part
- 29:38Speaker 4: of me is a wasted potential. because I could have
- 29:41Speaker 4: been doing this.
- 29:42Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. You know, my mother
- 29:44Speaker 1: was a teacher growing up. Yeah. So I don't know.
- 29:45Speaker 4: I feel like I'm grown up watching her and seeing
- 29:49Speaker 4: like these, these little kids just like gush over her. And, uh,
- 29:53Speaker 4: I don't know. It's just, there's, there's something so special
- 29:55Speaker 4: about it. And there's a couple of these teachers that
- 29:57Speaker 4: I watch on social media that I'm like, man, you're
- 29:59Speaker 4: laughing at me because I love how we started this
- 30:02Speaker 4: podcast too, with me, like not being able to, I
- 30:05Speaker 4: don't know how square roots work.
- 30:06Speaker 2: I think that you would be a very good teacher
- 30:08Speaker 2: for young minds.
- 30:09Speaker 1: I really do.
- 30:11Speaker 2: You're very engaging and you're a good storyteller and you
- 30:15Speaker 2: are I don't know. Everything you say has meaning.
- 30:17Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 30:18Speaker 2: You would be good at it, I think. I'm not
- 30:19Speaker 2: laughing at you at all. You'd be like the cool teacher.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Right. I don't know. People gushing over him. That's what
- 30:24Speaker 1: he wants. Shut the fuck up. Shut up. I'm just joking.
- 30:27Speaker 1: You know what I mean. I'm joking. You know what
- 30:29Speaker 1: I mean, though. What about you, Ben?
- 30:31Speaker 2: He's in it for the moms.
- 30:32Speaker 4: No, I'm talking about my social media thinks that I'm
- 30:35Speaker 4: a teacher. Every other scroll is like, here's how I
- 30:37Speaker 4: do my lesson plans. It's like, all right, Christ, I
- 30:39Speaker 4: don't need that. But, you know, I just like... I
- 30:41Speaker 4: will sit and watch 10 minutes of like a first
- 30:44Speaker 4: grade class this morning meeting.
- 30:46Speaker 1: What the hell is wrong with me? And what about you?
- 30:50Speaker 2: If I were five or six inches taller, I'd be
- 30:52Speaker 2: a professional mascot.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Okay.
- 30:55Speaker 2: I had, I've had some auditions along the way and
- 30:57Speaker 2: most of them were just like, so you're short.
- 31:01Speaker 1: How short are you?
- 31:02Speaker 2: I am five, six.
- 31:03Speaker 3: Most mascots like costumes and stuff are like five, 10
- 31:06Speaker 3: or hot or taller. Like usually like six foot is like,
- 31:09Speaker 3: you know, the kind of the prime standard there.
- 31:11Speaker 2: So let's wear bigger shoes. I tried.
- 31:13Speaker 1: What does a mascot audition look like?
- 31:17Speaker 2: Depends on the organization and stuff. I went, I had
- 31:20Speaker 2: an audition with the, the Houston Astros to be their
- 31:23Speaker 2: backup mascot performer. And it was like seven or eight
- 31:29Speaker 2: interviews over like three or four hours. And then I
- 31:32Speaker 2: got into costume for like 15 minutes and did a
- 31:35Speaker 2: little performance in front of a few people. Um, I
- 31:38Speaker 2: know some organizations do a lot more than that. Like
- 31:41Speaker 2: you have to come up with a skit and perform
- 31:43Speaker 2: it in front of folks and, you know, putting together
- 31:45Speaker 2: a whole.
- 31:47Speaker 4: You're doing all this without talking, right? Like that's like
- 31:49Speaker 4: a huge challenge. You're putting, you're putting something together. That's
- 31:53Speaker 4: essentially you dancing, right? Like it's a, it's a.
- 31:58Speaker 3: Body language and yeah, having to communicate that way and
- 32:01Speaker 3: be entertaining and, you know, uh, have your head on
- 32:04Speaker 3: a swivel and entertain folks, but also, you know, you're
- 32:06Speaker 3: still the head. You're the, you're the, you're the main
- 32:09Speaker 3: branding of the organization. So it's pretty cool.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Uh, yeah. So I did that.
- 32:12Speaker 3: I also had a interview once with the, the Eagles
- 32:15Speaker 3: to be their backup swoop at one point. Um, that was, yeah,
- 32:20Speaker 3: I got to go to the, uh, like the practice
- 32:21Speaker 3: facility for the Eagles and that was just cool. Nice
- 32:24Speaker 3: going in there and talking to them again. It was like,
- 32:26Speaker 3: so you're short, like that.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Damn it. Yeah. Taller shoe.
- 32:29Speaker 3: I'm telling you, I'm a good resume, but I'm short
- 32:34Speaker 3: shoe inserts or something.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 32:36Speaker 2: I had, I had to think about having your body
- 32:39Speaker 2: stretched like leg, leg, leg extensions.
- 32:42Speaker 1: I would have done that.
- 32:43Speaker 2: I have stilts. You've seen them in them. Leg extensions.
- 32:47Speaker 2: I keep running in, running into people on stilts. That sounds,
- 32:51Speaker 2: you know what I mean? I feel like I feel
- 32:53Speaker 2: like all summer long. I'm like everywhere I go, there's
- 32:55Speaker 2: people on stilts. I went to that God awful Ren fair.
- 32:59Speaker 2: There was people on stilts all over the place there.
- 33:01Speaker 2: And then I was at the fair and people on stilts.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 33:03Speaker 4: That guy, creepy man. I, every time I see people
- 33:05Speaker 4: on stilts, I think no way in hell would I
- 33:09Speaker 4: ever get on those fucking things.
- 33:10Speaker 1: You couldn't fucking pay me.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Did you ever see me on my jumping stilts?
- 33:15Speaker 1: You do that?
- 33:15Speaker 2: I have jumping stilts.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Oh dude.
- 33:17Speaker 3: They're like they have springs on them so you can
- 33:20Speaker 3: jump next time you come here can you bring those
- 33:22Speaker 3: so I can get them on camera I.
- 33:24Speaker 4: Don't know you know the thing that creeps me out
- 33:26Speaker 4: about people on stilts it's like I'm just and maybe
- 33:28Speaker 4: it's because I DJ and I'm surrounded by very intoxicated
- 33:31Speaker 4: drunk individuals every weekend but drunk people do dumb shit
- 33:34Speaker 4: sober people do dumb shit let alone drunk people who's
- 33:37Speaker 4: to you know who's to stop grubby little fucking kid
- 33:40Speaker 4: or a drunk person from running into some dude on
- 33:42Speaker 4: stilts and then next thing you know you're eight feet
- 33:44Speaker 4: in the air and you come crashing down like it's horrifying.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Dude that's all i think about when i see people
- 33:49Speaker 1: on stilts.
- 33:50Speaker 3: It's yeah it's you're not wrong right it's it's yeah
- 33:53Speaker 3: half of it's like hey don't fall on this kid.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Why are you laughing it's the truth it's a funny visual.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Mike has his glasses off and he's crying.
- 34:04Speaker 1: His face is red. It's a funny visual. No, it's not.
- 34:08Speaker 1: I know it's not.
- 34:08Speaker 2: It's a horrifying visual. But also a little funny.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Just a little bit.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 34:14Speaker 4: Are you telling me that you've had the urge to
- 34:16Speaker 4: run into a person on stilts when you see them?
- 34:19Speaker 2: No, I'm just saying that if it happened and I
- 34:22Speaker 2: was watching, I would find it very difficult not to laugh.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Like, really? Yeah, just a flick. I mean, honestly, it
- 34:32Speaker 1: all shares this.
- 34:33Speaker 2: If we were in public together and we saw somebody
- 34:36Speaker 2: on stilts fall down, you're telling.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Me you wouldn't laugh a little bit? no because i
- 34:40Speaker 1: think it would kill the fucking.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Guy that's what i'm saying like in all seriousness okay
- 34:44Speaker 2: fair enough that depends.
- 34:46Speaker 3: Where you fall i've fallen on them and thankfully most
- 34:48Speaker 3: of the times i was on a baseball field so
- 34:50Speaker 3: it was like grass or dirt i would also be
- 34:52Speaker 3: concerned by the way my initial response would be to
- 34:57Speaker 3: laugh real good and how are you gonna feel after
- 34:59Speaker 3: your initial response wears off and the fucking guy is
- 35:02Speaker 3: bleeding and dead on the ground right he's.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Not that far off the Oh, man. Oh, I lost
- 35:09Speaker 1: my shit there for a second.
- 35:11Speaker 4: Ooh.
- 35:11Speaker 2: And to think we were going to drink Willie Nelson
- 35:13Speaker 2: drinks this show.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Yeah, really.
- 35:14Speaker 4: We said on last week's episode, we said that we
- 35:17Speaker 4: were going to drink the weed-infused... Oh, is that what
- 35:19Speaker 4: that is over there?
- 35:20Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nice. Eric, our guest from last week,
- 35:22Speaker 1: brought it. We should put those in the refrigerator.
- 35:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I know.
- 35:24Speaker 1: I also forgot to do that. That's fine. We'll do
- 35:26Speaker 1: it next week. Next week. We'll do it next week.
- 35:27Speaker 2: That's a next week thing for episode 69.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Yeah, we're going to do it on stilts. Hopefully, Becker's
- 35:33Speaker 1: not around.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Yeah, really. I'll just laugh my ass off. And I'd
- 35:38Speaker 2: be worried, too.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Sure, it sounds like it. I sound real worried.
- 35:44Speaker 2: He would make sure you're okay.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. And then he would laugh, I'm sure.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Come on. I'm saying that I'm genuinely scared. I'm freaked
- 35:56Speaker 2: out by this every time I see somebody on stilts.
- 35:58Speaker 1: I'm telling you.
- 36:01Speaker 2: I'm sorry i'm laughing i just have the giggles right
- 36:05Speaker 2: now i'm sorry i know what'll knock you out of
- 36:07Speaker 2: that here why don't you get a bunch of questions
- 36:09Speaker 2: wrong what do you think great question number one this
- 36:13Speaker 2: will get rid of your giggles right away oh god
- 36:15Speaker 2: good i'm starting now all right what's the capital of
- 36:20Speaker 2: united arab emirates.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Go ahead laughy boy.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Tell me i get four fucking lifelines this time what's
- 36:27Speaker 2: the capital of uae Yeah, he should not count as
- 36:31Speaker 2: a lifeline. He's too fucking smart.
- 36:32Speaker 1: I don't know this one.
- 36:33Speaker 2: No shit.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Do you know this one?
- 36:35Speaker 2: Really?
- 36:37Speaker 1: What's the capital of United Arab Emirates? It is Emirates, right? Yeah.
- 36:42Speaker 2: That I believe is Emirates.
- 36:48Speaker 1: I have no idea. I don't know anything over there.
- 36:54Speaker 2: I don't want to go to my lifeline right away.
- 36:56Speaker 1: I don't know the answer to this. Uh, what's the
- 36:59Speaker 1: capital of United Arab Emirates? UAE. You start yelling shit out.
- 37:03Speaker 1: You'll come up with it. Maybe. Probably not, but maybe.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Sri Lanka. I have no idea. Sri Lanka?
- 37:08Speaker 2: Yes. Yeah, I don't know anything over there. I'm going
- 37:11Speaker 2: to go with my lifeline. I think on the first question.
- 37:13Speaker 5: Good.
- 37:13Speaker 2: I don't really know this one.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Abu Dhabi? Is it? Motherfucker. Oh, thank God. I have
- 37:19Speaker 1: no idea of anything over there. Did you read that
- 37:21Speaker 1: off my screen? I did not. Are you sure? I promise.
- 37:23Speaker 1: I'm going to make my screen smaller. It's a problem
- 37:26Speaker 1: with my big ass screen.
- 37:26Speaker 2: I have very good eyesight, honestly.
- 37:28Speaker 1: All right.
- 37:29Speaker 2: But I did not cheat.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Okay. I don't know anything over there. You've said this
- 37:33Speaker 1: about nine times. I know. I just, I wouldn't even
- 37:36Speaker 1: know what to shout out.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Like everything was just like Bangladesh, you know, like where's
- 37:41Speaker 2: that at?
- 37:42Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Do you know where Bangladesh is? I believe that's its
- 37:45Speaker 2: own separate country.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Is it? I don't know.
- 37:48Speaker 4: The extent of my knowledge of Bangladesh is that George
- 37:50Speaker 4: Harrison did a concert for Bangladesh.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Cause Hey, that's something. Yeah.
- 37:55Speaker 1: It was called the concert for Bangladesh. Probably wasn't a
- 37:58Speaker 1: good thing. No, I don't remember.
- 38:00Speaker 2: Normally you don't raise money for good things.
- 38:01Speaker 1: No, I don't. That's just it. Like, I don't know.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Hey guys, they're doing so well.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Brenda just graduated college. We're just giving her some money
- 38:10Speaker 2: because she deserves it.
- 38:11Speaker 1: That's just it.
- 38:12Speaker 4: I remember that the concert was to raise money for
- 38:14Speaker 4: Bangladesh and I know shit was fucked up there, but
- 38:17Speaker 4: I don't know why or how or what was going on,
- 38:20Speaker 4: but they raised money for him.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Gotcha.
- 38:22Speaker 2: That's good for him.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Bangladesh. Yeah.
- 38:25Speaker 5: No.
- 38:25Speaker 1: It's Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Next one.
- 38:31Speaker 2: Question two.
- 38:34Speaker 1: All right. You're out of lifelines, by the way. Let
- 38:37Speaker 1: me point that out. I might not be. No, I
- 38:40Speaker 1: think you are. All right. All right. What's the closest
- 38:42Speaker 1: star to Earth?
- 38:44Speaker 2: The sun.
- 38:49Speaker 1: The sun. Final answer. Very good. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you.
- 38:53Speaker 2: I thought for sure that I was going to get
- 38:55Speaker 2: you on that one. Mainly because I'd probably get that wrong.
- 38:58Speaker 1: So, you know. I knew that one. Did you know
- 39:01Speaker 1: that one?
- 39:02Speaker 2: No.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Are you going to remember it? Maybe.
- 39:04Speaker 2: All right.
- 39:05Speaker 4: Dude, I have such bad memory. I have such bad memory. Dude,
- 39:08Speaker 4: me and Brock are playing guitar the other night. He
- 39:10Speaker 4: starts playing this riff. And I'm like, oh, what is that?
- 39:14Speaker 4: I like that. And he goes.
- 39:15Speaker 1: Every fucking time I play this, you say, oh, wow,
- 39:18Speaker 1: I like this. It's this song. I still don't remember
- 39:21Speaker 1: what the fuck it is. You're going to.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Like it again next time.
- 39:23Speaker 1: I'm going to like it again. Man, what is that?
- 39:25Speaker 1: I like that. What's it called?
- 39:27Speaker 5: What?
- 39:27Speaker 1: Question three. You like basketball? Sure. You know a lot
- 39:33Speaker 1: about basketball? I used to play basketball. Okay. Maybe you'll
- 39:36Speaker 1: know this.
- 39:37Speaker 4: A regulation NBA basketball hoop is required to be exactly
- 39:43Speaker 4: how high from the floor?
- 39:45Speaker 1: It's 10 feet. Oh, my God. Yeah, 10 feet.
- 39:48Speaker 5: Easy.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Is that easy? Yeah.
- 39:50Speaker 2: I remember when I was in fifth grade, the ones
- 39:52Speaker 2: in our school were eight feet and I was able
- 39:54Speaker 2: to reach those and dunk on them. And then I
- 39:55Speaker 2: got onto the bigger school and they had bigger hoop.
- 39:57Speaker 1: People know that. I really thought I was going to
- 39:58Speaker 1: get you on like all these.
- 40:00Speaker 2: I think that's common knowledge, right? I mean, I think
- 40:02Speaker 2: people know that. Yeah.
- 40:04Speaker 1: You didn't know that one either. No, I didn't know
- 40:05Speaker 1: that one either. I didn't know this one either. Hopefully
- 40:07Speaker 1: you don't. Maybe I'll get you on this one. Hopefully.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Question four. 20.
- 40:12Speaker 5: What?
- 40:13Speaker 1: What? Okay. You like KFC? I haven't had it in
- 40:17Speaker 1: a very long time, but sure.
- 40:18Speaker 4: I don't even know if I've ever had KFC, to
- 40:20Speaker 4: be honest with you. You like Popeyes? I did till
- 40:23Speaker 4: I had it one time and it made me biff
- 40:26Speaker 4: all over the place.
- 40:26Speaker 1: I don't know. And now I can't do it and
- 40:28Speaker 1: I can't do it. It made you biff. Yeah.
- 40:30Speaker 2: What does that mean?
- 40:32Speaker 1: Barf. Did it really? Yeah. Jeez. Bad. I don't know.
- 40:35Speaker 4: I had a bad experience one time and now I'm
- 40:37Speaker 4: like scarred and afraid to go back. The chicken sandwich
- 40:39Speaker 4: was good. It's just a little bit too much for me.
- 40:41Speaker 4: It's a little too heavy.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Yeah. You know, you eat one sandwich, you feel like
- 40:44Speaker 1: you gained 10 pounds. I don't know.
- 40:46Speaker 2: In KFC, it's like, If I'm going to get fast food,
- 40:49Speaker 2: it's not going to be fried chicken, you know? What's
- 40:51Speaker 2: your go-to fast food?
- 40:52Speaker 1: McDonald's, of course. Oh, that's right. We used to go
- 40:54Speaker 1: there a lot. Of course, McDonald's. Big Mac?
- 40:57Speaker 2: No, double quarter pounder, right? That's the sandwich. You know what, though?
- 41:02Speaker 4: I need to just start getting the regular quarter pounder
- 41:04Speaker 4: because you eat the double quarter pounder and that's a
- 41:06Speaker 4: little much, too.
- 41:07Speaker 3: Do you know what two quarter pounders together would make?
- 41:12Speaker 1: I'm the one asking the questions here, not answering the questions.
- 41:15Speaker 1: You don't know the answer to that? All right, moving on.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Two quarters make what? A pound. No, no.
- 41:22Speaker 2: It can't be a teacher.
- 41:23Speaker 1: I don't want to teach math. I want to teach history.
- 41:27Speaker 1: All right, fine. Social studies. It would be a half pound,
- 41:30Speaker 1: by the way. Okay, great. Well, I was close. I
- 41:32Speaker 1: just forgot the half part. Okay, KFC. I remember this commercial.
- 41:38Speaker 1: Maybe you do.
- 41:38Speaker 4: How many herbs and spices does KFC claim to have
- 41:42Speaker 4: in their secret recipe?
- 41:46Speaker 1: I don't remember.
- 41:48Speaker 4: How many herbs and spices does KFC claim to have
- 41:51Speaker 4: in their secret recipe?
- 41:57Speaker 1: I don't remember.
- 42:00Speaker 2: You should just guess a number. Is it like 16
- 42:08Speaker 2: or some weird number like that?
- 42:10Speaker 1: I don't know. Why is 16 a weird number? I
- 42:12Speaker 1: don't know. 16 herbs and spices. Is that right? What
- 42:15Speaker 1: is it? It's 11. Damn it. Obviously. Fuck off. Obviously.
- 42:22Speaker 2: I don't know why I thought it was like 30.
- 42:24Speaker 4: I only got you on one this week.
- 42:26Speaker 1: That sucks. He helped me with the first one. Abu Dhabi.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Abu Dhabi.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Abu Dhabi. These are pretty good. Okay. Question number one.
- 42:43Speaker 2: You're never going to believe this one question.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Oh, I can't wait.
- 42:47Speaker 2: What is the closest star to Earth? Did we go
- 42:51Speaker 2: on the same Reddit page?
- 42:52Speaker 1: I'm not even lying to you.
- 42:53Speaker 2: I didn't even do this off Reddit. I found these
- 42:55Speaker 2: at random different trivia spots on social media.
- 42:59Speaker 1: I swear to God. Really?
- 43:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 43:02Speaker 2: How weird is it that we've done this three times?
- 43:04Speaker 2: That's written on your page right now?
- 43:06Speaker 1: Swear to God.
- 43:06Speaker 2: I'll show it to you after we're done. I got
- 43:08Speaker 2: to start just going. No, we both went on the
- 43:09Speaker 2: same Reddit page.
- 43:10Speaker 1: That's why.
- 43:11Speaker 2: I didn't use Reddit.
- 43:13Speaker 1: Yeah, but somebody takes those.
- 43:14Speaker 4: Those questions are floating around from everywhere.
- 43:16Speaker 1: Probably. But anyway, what's the answer? The internet has ruined everything.
- 43:20Speaker 1: You know, there we go. We circle back to that.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Phones have fucked us, haven't they? Anyway.
- 43:24Speaker 2: But it is weird that we had... three things like
- 43:26Speaker 2: on our list.
- 43:27Speaker 1: The correct answer is the sun. Yeah, you got, you
- 43:29Speaker 1: retain that. Go to the next one. That's why you
- 43:31Speaker 1: asked if I was going to retain it. Exactly.
- 43:33Speaker 2: And I said, no, you should, in my head earlier,
- 43:35Speaker 2: I was like, you gotta be fucking kidding me.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Question two. All right. I'm on a roll.
- 43:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 43:44Speaker 2: How many degrees are in a right angle? He doesn't
- 43:48Speaker 2: know that.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Shut up.
- 43:51Speaker 2: She's not going to teach geography or anything in school.
- 43:53Speaker 2: It's definitely a history teacher. That's who we're talking to.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Maybe I could teach like computers or something. Even that.
- 44:02Speaker 1: I've seen you work on a computer. It's like, what
- 44:05Speaker 1: the fuck is going on?
- 44:08Speaker 2: Anyway, how many degrees are in a right angle?
- 44:12Speaker 1: Is it like, it's like 90 degrees, right? You have
- 44:14Speaker 1: a lifeline, right?
- 44:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 44:16Speaker 1: But I don't want to like go to my lifeline.
- 44:17Speaker 1: If I think I'm right, I think I'm right. A
- 44:19Speaker 1: right angle. Right angle or right angle. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right.
- 44:26Speaker 5: Right.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Right.
- 44:28Speaker 1: Right. Right. 90 degrees. Are you sure? Final answer. Final answer.
- 44:34Speaker 1: You are right. Hell yeah.
- 44:37Speaker 2: See, look, maybe I can teach geography. Yes, that's geography
- 44:42Speaker 2: angles and stuff, right?
- 44:43Speaker 1: Yeah, that's geography. Is it geometry?
- 44:45Speaker 2: Geometry is where things are.
- 44:47Speaker 1: All right. All right. See, thank God. He's moving on.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Question three.
- 44:55Speaker 2: Quiet. You're going to have to go back to school
- 45:00Speaker 2: after this.
- 45:00Speaker 1: I'm going to have to go back to school so
- 45:03Speaker 1: I can teach. No, you're going to be in the class.
- 45:08Speaker 1: All right, here we go. What does.
- 45:11Speaker 2: Come on, spit it out.
- 45:14Speaker 1: You got to be laughing. All right.
- 45:16Speaker 2: What does GPS stand for?
- 45:18Speaker 1: Oh, man. No idea. Ben, I'll go to my lifeline.
- 45:22Speaker 2: Question three. If you're using your GPS to get to
- 45:25Speaker 2: a place, you know?
- 45:26Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. GPS.
- 45:27Speaker 2: What does GPS stand for?
- 45:28Speaker 1: General.
- 45:30Speaker 4: General something service.
- 45:32Speaker 1: General.
- 45:34Speaker 2: What do you use a GPS for?
- 45:36Speaker 1: Directions. Decision.
- 45:38Speaker 2: General Precision System. General Place. I actually thought this would
- 45:43Speaker 2: be easy.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Really? Yeah. I'll probably think it was easy once I
- 45:47Speaker 1: hear the answer. I don't know why I don't know it. GPS.
- 45:51Speaker 1: What do you think it stands for? You don't know
- 45:56Speaker 1: it either? Come on.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Go Places. See, I thought you guys would at least
- 46:00Speaker 2: get the first two words. He knows everything until it
- 46:03Speaker 2: comes to the question that I go to a lifeline
- 46:05Speaker 2: to him with.
- 46:05Speaker 1: Yeah. Grand.
- 46:09Speaker 2: I thought you guys would get the first two words
- 46:11Speaker 2: and then struggle with the third.
- 46:12Speaker 1: It's not service? System? No. Sentience? Alright, what is it?
- 46:20Speaker 2: Global positioning system.
- 46:23Speaker 1: I said was it system? Yeah. You didn't get the
- 46:27Speaker 1: main two words. It's what it does. Global positioning. Wonderful. Great.
- 46:33Speaker 1: You learned something. You're kicking my ass. Question four. All right, dude.
- 46:38Speaker 2: The shin bone is another name for which bone? Your
- 46:43Speaker 2: shin bone.
- 46:44Speaker 1: Your shin? That's not the name of it.
- 46:46Speaker 2: That's what everybody calls it, though. Yeah, but what is
- 46:48Speaker 2: it actually called? It's the bone that goes from your
- 46:51Speaker 2: knee down to your ankle. The front part of your
- 46:55Speaker 2: leg there.
- 46:56Speaker 1: Oh, that's like the strongest bone in your body, isn't it?
- 46:59Speaker 1: Isn't that your femur? You said from your knee to
- 47:03Speaker 1: your ankle. Does your femur not go from your knee
- 47:05Speaker 1: to your ankle? I don't think so. Is there like
- 47:11Speaker 1: another one down here? Trying to feel it. I don't know.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Read your bullshit again. My bullshit.
- 47:20Speaker 2: The shin bone is another name for which bone? People
- 47:23Speaker 2: call it the shin bone.
- 47:24Speaker 4: I don't know, but I do know that if you
- 47:26Speaker 4: were on stilts and somebody pushed you over, you'd probably
- 47:28Speaker 4: break it, right?
- 47:28Speaker 1: Probably. Probably. Probably. And Becker would stand there and laugh.
- 47:31Speaker 1: I'd laugh my ass off. You broke your this.
- 47:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:35Speaker 1: What did he break? Benny, you want to help him?
- 47:37Speaker 1: Do you have any idea?
- 47:38Speaker 2: My first one that came into my mind was femur
- 47:41Speaker 2: as well.
- 47:41Speaker 1: I just went to him for the last.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Okay.
- 47:43Speaker 1: I went to him for the last question. That's what
- 47:44Speaker 1: came to my mind. I'm having difficulty keeping up. All right,
- 47:46Speaker 1: go ahead. Yeah. You think it's. We know. I think
- 47:48Speaker 1: it's femur too. Femur. Final answer.
- 47:51Speaker 2: Wrong.
- 47:52Speaker 1: It's your tibia. I never cared. This was a depressing question.
- 48:02Speaker 2: Would eating make you feel better?
- 48:03Speaker 1: Maybe. All right. Let's eat some food.
- 48:05Speaker 2: It's time for the Mochi Minute.
- 48:11Speaker 1: You guys like wheat thins?
- 48:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:13Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 48:13Speaker 2: I'll eat the whole box. What's your favorite wheat then?
- 48:16Speaker 1: The original. Okay. What about you?
- 48:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:18Speaker 1: Original.
- 48:19Speaker 2: These are the tomato basil ones, and they are awesome.
- 48:22Speaker 1: Okay. Okay. Hey, Wheat Thins, sponsor our podcast.
- 48:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:28Speaker 1: It's either you or Home Depot. It could be both.
- 48:32Speaker 2: Or Ted's Hardware Store.
- 48:37Speaker 1: These are so good. Okay, I've had these before. I
- 48:39Speaker 1: don't know. Nothing's better than the original.
- 48:42Speaker 5: I know.
- 48:42Speaker 1: I get that. A purist like me. Do you like Triscuits?
- 48:47Speaker 1: They're thicker. They are.
- 48:49Speaker 2: What do you have those with? Do you guys ever
- 48:51Speaker 2: put anything on your Triscuits?
- 48:54Speaker 5: No.
- 48:55Speaker 3: You dip your Triscuits in anything? These almost taste like
- 49:00Speaker 3: a red pie, like tomato pie. That's what I'm getting
- 49:03Speaker 3: out of this. Yeah, they're pretty good. Is it a
- 49:08Speaker 3: healthier snack?
- 49:08Speaker 1: I don't know. Are Wheat Thins good for you? I mean,
- 49:11Speaker 1: nothing's good for you. Probably not. I think I Googled
- 49:15Speaker 1: this once and the answer was no.
- 49:17Speaker 2: They look like most of the other snacks I eat.
- 49:22Speaker 4: Don't you love how this is a family size box?
- 49:25Speaker 4: It doesn't look very family-sized to me. You would think
- 49:27Speaker 4: a family-sized box of Wheat Thins would resemble, like, I
- 49:30Speaker 4: don't know, a small cereal box.
- 49:32Speaker 2: This is not even a cereal box. It's not a
- 49:36Speaker 2: cereal box at all. There's no prizes here. So what
- 49:41Speaker 2: do you think? Wheat Thins, yay, nay? Pretty decent.
- 49:44Speaker 1: Yeah, they're alright. Not as good as the OG, though.
- 49:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I just want the OG. Mostly healthy, we think.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Look, now the dog wants to end.
- 49:51Speaker 2: Wheat Thins Nabisco, you can sponsor our podcast. Ben, did
- 49:54Speaker 2: you have a lot of fun?
- 49:55Speaker 1: I did.
- 49:56Speaker 2: Thanks for having me, guys.
- 49:57Speaker 1: I had a lot of fun, too.
- 49:58Speaker 2: I always forget there's snacks involved at the end. Yeah,
- 50:00Speaker 2: pass them around. I'm good for now.
- 50:04Speaker 1: You were hogging them. You were hogging them. You were
- 50:07Speaker 1: hogging them. You just had them for 10 minutes. 10 minutes. Yeah.
- 50:12Speaker 2: You're not good with time, either. You can't teach time.
- 50:14Speaker 2: You can't teach geography or geometry. He knows what a
- 50:19Speaker 2: quarter of a circle is.
- 50:21Speaker 1: I can't even teach music because I can't even fucking
- 50:23Speaker 1: read music. What good are you? I know. I'm wasting potential.
- 50:26Speaker 1: That's what I am. Wasting potential. I'm just going to
- 50:28Speaker 1: have to live vicariously. Look at that big word. Can
- 50:31Speaker 1: you spell it? Through TikTok. Vicariously? No. I know. Absolutely not.
- 50:36Speaker 1: I know. I can't teach spelling either. Shit.
- 50:38Speaker 4: I'm going to have to reconsider. Maybe I could be
- 50:40Speaker 4: a janitor or something. At least then I'll be in
- 50:42Speaker 4: the school.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Oh, shit.
- 50:44Speaker 3: What are you trying to do? Are you trying to
- 50:46Speaker 3: end the show? You want to be a janitor, but
- 50:48Speaker 3: you don't even clean up your dog's shit?
- 50:50Speaker 1: That's not going to work.
- 50:52Speaker 2: That's not going to work either. You can't teach janitoring either.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Those who can't teach, teach Jim. Those who can't teach,
- 50:59Speaker 2: Jim janitor. Those who can't clean up shit, host podcasts.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Pretty much.
- 51:06Speaker 2: Bowtie Ben, tell everybody again where they can find you
- 51:08Speaker 2: on the internet. Yeah, at Bowtie Ben, host on Instagram,
- 51:12Speaker 2: at Molten Metal Media on all the things. And yeah,
- 51:16Speaker 2: all the other places.
- 51:17Speaker 1: What about your band?
- 51:18Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Midsummer, at Midsummer PA on all the things
- 51:23Speaker 2: because there was already a Midsummer. So PA because we're
- 51:26Speaker 2: the Pennsylvania one.
- 51:27Speaker 1: It's Pennsylvania. Yeah. We're cool. You knew that, Joel, right? What?
- 51:31Speaker 1: PA means Pennsylvania. Yeah, yeah. I'm just making sure. You
- 51:34Speaker 1: know what? I'm going to give you... No, wait. Who's
- 51:37Speaker 1: next week? Tyler Rothrock?
- 51:38Speaker 2: Tyler Rothrock's back next week.
- 51:39Speaker 1: Yes.
- 51:39Speaker 2: Episode 69.
- 51:40Speaker 4: I'm going to give you a hard state abbreviation question
- 51:44Speaker 4: next week, then, because, you know, a couple of those
- 51:45Speaker 4: are pretty hard, smartass.
- 51:47Speaker 1: I'm going to give you some, too, then. All right, fine.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Mine are going to be harder.
- 51:51Speaker 5: No, I....
- 51:52Speaker 1: Well, you're younger. Yeah, we're both... No, actually, we'll both
- 51:55Speaker 1: read the same question from Reddit, because... Probably.
- 51:59Speaker 2: Elementary knowledge off next week. Mm-hmm.
- 52:02Speaker 1: Episode 68. I'm Becker. That's Joel.
- 52:04Speaker 2: Ben Youngerman. Thank you so much for being here. Bowtie Ben.
- 52:06Speaker 1: In the flesh. Why did it do that? What the fuck?
- 52:13Speaker 1: Don't forget to subscribe. Spark up and join us next time.
- 52:19Speaker 1: Here's the beginning part.
- 52:20Speaker 5: The Blazed and Confused podcast with Becker and Joel.
- 52:24Speaker 1: Don't forget to subscribe.
- 52:26Speaker 2: Spark up and join us next time.
- 52:29Speaker 5: Yep.
- 52:30Speaker 1: And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
- 52:38Speaker 1: gave proof through.
- 52:40Speaker 5: The night that our flag was still there.
- 52:47Speaker 2: Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave Oh, it's
- 53:00Speaker 2: the land of the brave.
- 53:05Speaker 1: And the home of the brave. Yay. Gas is $ 4.
- 53:11Speaker 5: 59.
- 53:11Speaker 1: Bye.
