- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to a meeting of the minds crafted from decades
- 0:05Speaker 1: of talk show experience. An extension of the magic they've
- 0:08Speaker 1: created together on radio in the phenomenon called M & M.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Hot topics in the news and wisdom from life. It's
- 0:16Speaker 1: Mark Davis and Mike Gallagher. This is M & M Extra.
- 0:21Speaker 2: No blown out knee will prevent Mark Davis for doing
- 0:25Speaker 2: his daily duties here on M & M Extra. No, sorry.
- 0:29Speaker 2: No blown out knee will prevent you from appearing with
- 0:32Speaker 2: Anderson Cooper and Paul Begala on CNN. Not Mark Davis.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Welcome in. I'm Mike Gallagher. He's Mark Davis. And we
- 0:40Speaker 2: are so glad you could join us today. Brought to you.
- 0:43Speaker 2: by our title sponsor, Preborn. We love the message and
- 0:47Speaker 2: the mission of Preborn. Standing for life, providing ultrasounds to
- 0:52Speaker 2: young women so that they'll choose life over abortion. Call
- 0:56Speaker 2: 833-850-BABY or go to preborn.com slash mmextra. I'll bet you
- 1:02Speaker 2: thought when I said yesterday that I'm going to be
- 1:06Speaker 2: forced to watch CNN, turned away from the World Series
- 1:09Speaker 2: to watch your ass on TV. And I said on
- 1:15Speaker 2: Thursday's pod, we'll play the whole segment. I'll bet you
- 1:18Speaker 2: didn't believe me.
- 1:19Speaker 3: I thought we'd have an excerpt here, an excerpt there.
- 1:23Speaker 2: How long was it? Five minutes? Seven minutes?
- 1:26Speaker 3: Four and a half, 445. So, you know.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Are you kidding? We can play the whole thing. I
- 1:32Speaker 2: don't know that I've ever been prouder of you. Let
- 1:34Speaker 2: me tell you why.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Wow, man.
- 1:36Speaker 2: As we queue it up and get ready to play
- 1:38Speaker 2: the whole thing. That's your first appearance on CNN, right?
- 1:41Speaker 2: Or on Anderson Cooper.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Over my life? No, I've done a few times, but it's,
- 1:44Speaker 3: it's been a while. I don't think with Anderson Cooper
- 1:47Speaker 3: ever though. Correct. Interesting.
- 1:49Speaker 2: I always wondered what he would be like. I saw
- 1:51Speaker 2: him at one of the presidential debates. He set up
- 1:54Speaker 2: a booth or he set up his broadcast position near
- 1:58Speaker 2: where we were at the time. And he was actually
- 2:00Speaker 2: very nice. He was pleasant and he was friendly and
- 2:02Speaker 2: he kind of knew who we were and knew Salem
- 2:05Speaker 2: and everything. And, uh, What a story he's got, the
- 2:08Speaker 2: son of Gloria Vanderbilt. So he was born with a
- 2:11Speaker 2: silver spoon in his mouth, and he famously walked away
- 2:16Speaker 2: from 60 Minutes because he couldn't tolerate, apparently, Barry Weiss, right?
- 2:21Speaker 2: Was that really it?
- 2:23Speaker 3: I thought that's what it was. Did he and the
- 2:27Speaker 3: husband have a kid or something? I mean, I get
- 2:29Speaker 3: confused between.
- 2:30Speaker 2: No, no. But he walked away for 60 minutes. He
- 2:33Speaker 2: was not happy. He was not happy. And look, CBS
- 2:37Speaker 2: is not. becoming MAGA. I mean, it's just.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Uh, no evidence of that in view of that increased
- 2:43Speaker 3: total sham job they did on the, uh, general counsel,
- 2:47Speaker 3: James Percival. Did you see how they shredded the interview
- 2:50Speaker 3: with him where he delivered all kinds of truths about
- 2:53Speaker 3: who does and doesn't deserve certain amounts of due process?
- 2:56Speaker 3: What is, and is not a dangerous criminal. It's just
- 3:00Speaker 3: exploding myth after myth and a whole lot of it
- 3:02Speaker 3: mysteriously did not make the broadcast.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Funny how that works. Funny how they leave things on
- 3:07Speaker 2: the cutting room floor. Incidentally, did I step up or
- 3:10Speaker 2: not on the show today? I egged people on to
- 3:14Speaker 2: subscribe to the Eminem Extra YouTube channel.
- 3:16Speaker 1: I know.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Look at you.
- 3:18Speaker 2: We're over 5,000. 5,000 and 60. That's right. Well, may
- 3:24Speaker 2: I point out, Mr. Big Head, Mr. TV star, you
- 3:28Speaker 2: didn't do it this morning. I did. I had to
- 3:30Speaker 2: do it on my show. You didn't get enough to
- 3:32Speaker 2: take us over? I did.
- 3:34Speaker 3: No, well, here's the deal. I did indeed mention it.
- 3:37Speaker 3: It's just that I have but a sliver of the
- 3:39Speaker 3: clout that you have in the broadcast space.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Yeah, but I'm not with Anderson Cooper any nights on TV. Well,
- 3:45Speaker 2: you could be. And there you were. Yeah. Yeah, no
- 3:48Speaker 2: thank you. But you did great. And I was so
- 3:50Speaker 2: proud of you. And I was, as we get ready
- 3:52Speaker 2: to play it, I want to play the whole thing
- 3:53Speaker 2: like promised. Everybody said, I said, show up and we'll
- 3:57Speaker 2: play it for you. Here we go. Here's the brilliance, though.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Your subtle swipe at the family values of Bill Clinton
- 4:05Speaker 2: and Paul Begala having to defend that was masterful. And
- 4:09Speaker 2: let me tell you why. I'm going to preview it
- 4:11Speaker 2: so everybody can be paying attention to it when you
- 4:13Speaker 2: did it. Because I just screamed from the couch. You
- 4:17Speaker 2: did this in such a way that it was so
- 4:20Speaker 2: gentle and tactful. In other words, you didn't yell at
- 4:24Speaker 2: him and say, who the hell are you to worry
- 4:26Speaker 2: about Ken Paxton's morality? You were dealing with Bill Clinton
- 4:30Speaker 2: who was chasing Monica around the Oval Office with a
- 4:32Speaker 2: cigar in his hand. You didn't do that. What you
- 4:35Speaker 2: did was subtle. What you said was skillful. It was surgical.
- 4:42Speaker 2: And it was perfect. And it was disarming. However, I
- 4:45Speaker 2: want to make sure people who are watching today on
- 4:48Speaker 2: YouTube pay close attention to the expression on the faces
- 4:52Speaker 2: of both Paul Begala and Anderson Cooper when you made
- 4:57Speaker 2: the subtle jab about how it's more important how somebody
- 5:00Speaker 2: will govern an office than than how they have marital
- 5:03Speaker 2: challenges in their lives.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Well, among the people seeing that and taking notice of
- 5:08Speaker 3: that will be me because when I'm looking at my
- 5:10Speaker 3: laptop screen, I don't see Anderson or Paul Begala. They
- 5:13Speaker 3: just kind of got the standard thing there when I'm
- 5:15Speaker 3: doing Zoom at home, which I hate. I said, guys, ideally,
- 5:19Speaker 3: let's do the van in my front yard so it
- 5:20Speaker 3: looks like I'm in an actual TV studio. They couldn't
- 5:23Speaker 3: do it, but it's like, hey, here's a new opportunity.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Let's do that. Pardon the reference here. I'm doing Cuomo
- 5:28Speaker 3: apparently tonight. And they are bringing the van to the
- 5:31Speaker 3: house because it really does look like you're on a
- 5:33Speaker 3: broadcast set. So thank you for the kind words about it. Begala,
- 5:37Speaker 3: I don't know where he– I think they got a
- 5:38Speaker 3: van in his house because he's somewhere here in Texas too.
- 5:41Speaker 3: So I loved it. But I do– it's echoey. I'm
- 5:44Speaker 3: at home.
- 5:44Speaker 2: It's Zoom.
- 5:45Speaker 3: And I hate that. But it was thoroughly, thoroughly worth it.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Can I pull the curtain back?
- 5:50Speaker 3: Sure.
- 5:50Speaker 2: And I mean it. And I'm as– ask my crew here.
- 5:53Speaker 2: I'm as tough on technical things as anybody. I've got
- 5:57Speaker 2: a good eye and a sharp ear. And I pay
- 6:00Speaker 2: close attention to this kind of stuff. Yes. There was
- 6:03Speaker 2: nothing wrong with your shot last night. I'm going to
- 6:06Speaker 2: tell you right now. It wasn't even– Well, you're about.
- 6:08Speaker 3: To hear it. And I sound– listen to Paul's audio
- 6:11Speaker 3: and Anderson's audio.
- 6:12Speaker 2: And I sound fine. But it's echoey. You sounded great.
- 6:16Speaker 2: It wasn't– you sounded great. You looked great. I mean
- 6:19Speaker 2: if there's a critique, it would be you had to
- 6:21Speaker 2: have the AirPods in your ears.
- 6:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Well, I know. Good point.
- 6:25Speaker 2: But that's okay. But people are used to that now. No,
- 6:28Speaker 2: it looked great. Look, if I were running these networks,
- 6:30Speaker 2: I wouldn't waste money on sending vans to somebody's house.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I'd say plug in like Mark did last night in
- 6:35Speaker 2: front of his laptop. And it looked great. It sounded great.
- 6:38Speaker 2: But most importantly, what you said was spectacular.
- 6:44Speaker 5: Joining us now, two Texans, CNN political commentator and Democratic
- 6:47Speaker 5: strategist Paul Pagale and conservative talk radio host Mark Davis. Paul,
- 6:51Speaker 5: Democrats have been optimistic about other Texas campaigns over the years,
- 6:53Speaker 5: only to fall short. Does this feel different to you?
- 6:57Speaker 6: Yeah, it does. I mean, look how hard the governor
- 6:59Speaker 6: is pressing. This is not an anti-incumbent year. It's an
- 7:03Speaker 6: anti-Republican year. Incumbent governors in Pennsylvania and Maryland, Illinois, Democrats
- 7:08Speaker 6: all are winning in landslides. This governor's had 12 years
- 7:12Speaker 6: and he's had 100 million bucks. He can't close the deal.
- 7:14Speaker 6: And I think it is. It goes back to data centers,
- 7:16Speaker 6: public schools, the stuff that Ed.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Had in his report.
- 7:19Speaker 6: So he's in big trouble. It's been a long time
- 7:22Speaker 6: since Democrats have won anything. But I think Gina Hinojosa
- 7:24Speaker 6: run about a perfect campaign.
- 7:26Speaker 5: Well, Mark, in terms of the Paxton-Talarico race, I mean,
- 7:28Speaker 5: if the president had endorsed John Cornyn, do you think
- 7:32Speaker 5: the Republicans would be in this situation in Texas?
- 7:36Speaker 7: It could be it could possibly be worse. First of all,
- 7:38Speaker 7: Greg Abbott is going to win and win comfortably. There's
- 7:40Speaker 7: no reason for him not to. It is one of
- 7:42Speaker 7: the greatest mythologies being told on the campaign trail that
- 7:45Speaker 7: if only we had the magic of John Cornyn. Listen,
- 7:48Speaker 7: Cornyn had his era and it was filled with a
- 7:50Speaker 7: lot of quality service to the to the state. But
- 7:53Speaker 7: it was made clear in the primaries this past year
- 7:55Speaker 7: that the page has turned past him. So this notion
- 7:58Speaker 7: that Cornyn would be running much better. is probably outright false.
- 8:01Speaker 7: Ken has his issues, to be sure, but how he
- 8:04Speaker 7: will vote as a senator is not one of them.
- 8:06Speaker 7: And up against an anti-meat, anti-gun cheerleader for child sex change,
- 8:10Speaker 7: Paxton's going to win, too.
- 8:13Speaker 5: Paul, what do you think about that?
- 8:14Speaker 6: Oh, I'm just watching all these court and voters, Bush voters,
- 8:18Speaker 6: endorsing James Tallarico.
- 8:19Speaker 1: It's astonishing.
- 8:20Speaker 6: They've got an ad out now saying they're taking a
- 8:22Speaker 6: pass on Paxton. The chief justice of the Texas Supreme
- 8:26Speaker 6: Court retired, Tom Phillips, very conservative jurist, hasn't George Tallarico.
- 8:32Speaker 6: You're seeing it across the state. In the most Republican
- 8:35Speaker 6: part of Texas, up in the panhandle, the state senator
- 8:38Speaker 6: from there, also retired, Kel Seliger, who's a guy I know,
- 8:41Speaker 6: even though he's very, very conservative.
- 8:42Speaker 2: He's a friend of mine.
- 8:44Speaker 6: Towering integrity and very, very conservative. He's endorsing the Democrat.
- 8:48Speaker 6: I've never known him to do that. I've known him
- 8:50Speaker 6: for decades. So something is going on in Texas. And
- 8:53Speaker 6: I think what's going on is People are really fed
- 8:55Speaker 6: up and they want change. And Mr. Paxson has his problems, Mark.
- 8:59Speaker 6: That's a pretty nice euphemism. That boy about as crooked
- 9:02Speaker 6: as the Brazos River and twice as dirty.
- 9:06Speaker 7: Yeah, Mark, I mean, one of the problems he doesn't
- 9:08Speaker 7: have is how he's going to vote.
- 9:11Speaker 5: Is that all that matters to you in terms of
- 9:12Speaker 5: a candidate is just how they vote as opposed to?
- 9:15Speaker 3: I think we've learned.
- 9:15Speaker 7: We learned.
- 9:16Speaker 3: It's a great question.
- 9:17Speaker 7: We learned in the era of a guy Paul knows well,
- 9:19Speaker 7: Bill Clinton, that personal stuff can be important in personal life.
- 9:23Speaker 7: And we'd all like for all of our leaders to
- 9:24Speaker 7: be wise philosopher kings free of sin. And we don't
- 9:28Speaker 7: usually get that. So ultimately, the most important question is,
- 9:31Speaker 7: what kind of senator are you going to be? What
- 9:32Speaker 7: kind of president are you going to be? And when
- 9:34Speaker 7: Texans are faced with the votes to be cast by
- 9:36Speaker 7: Ken Paxton and the votes to be cast by James Tallarico,
- 9:40Speaker 7: despite these embittered establishment losers whom Paul can invoke, Paxton's
- 9:44Speaker 7: going to win.
- 9:47Speaker 5: Paul, is it embittered establishment losers?
- 9:51Speaker 6: No, look, I think I want Mark to keep saying
- 9:54Speaker 6: that because I want the Paxton people to just relax.
- 9:57Speaker 2: And if the hay's in.
- 9:58Speaker 6: The barn, boys, it's done. But the truth is, Tallarico
- 10:01Speaker 6: is whipping him.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Oh, what happened?
- 10:08Speaker 3: It was going so well.
- 10:09Speaker 2: It was going so well. What happened?
- 10:11Speaker 3: Only like a minute left.
- 10:12Speaker 2: What happened? Oh, there's another minute or two. Huh? Yeah. Okay,
- 10:19Speaker 2: we're going to go back. We're going to pick it
- 10:20Speaker 2: up where we left off here, so hang in. We'll
- 10:22Speaker 2: play it again. Previously on the CNN, Anderson Cooper tonight.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Do they still use James Earl Jones' voice? By the way,
- 10:29Speaker 2: I do have to take it. He's respectful.
- 10:32Speaker 6: He's not very partisan. He's reaching out. I thought he
- 10:35Speaker 6: did a great job of talking to people who deeply
- 10:37Speaker 6: disagree with him on issues like abortion, as he did
- 10:39Speaker 6: in that town hall meeting. So he's building the kind
- 10:42Speaker 6: of broad coalition you need.
- 10:43Speaker 2: To have to win there.
- 10:44Speaker 6: And if Paxton thinks it's over and it's all done,
- 10:47Speaker 6: like Mark says, that just makes me happy as a Democrat.
- 10:50Speaker 3: I didn't say that. Didn't say that.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Mark, do you think Paxton, no doubt, is going to win?
- 10:57Speaker 7: Listen, anything is possible. There's simply no reason to believe
- 11:01Speaker 7: that in a state like mine in Texas and like Paul's,
- 11:03Speaker 7: where two years ago Trump swapped Kamala Harris, where Greg Abbott,
- 11:07Speaker 7: Dan Patrick, Ken Paxton won by large margins four years ago,
- 11:11Speaker 7: and Ken was embroiled in a lot of these controversies
- 11:13Speaker 7: four years ago. There's simply no reason to believe that
- 11:17Speaker 7: Texas has sufficiently flipped to hand over this Democrat pipe dream.
- 11:21Speaker 7: Anything's possible in the future, but it ain't happening this year.
- 11:24Speaker 5: And we shall see. Mark Davis, appreciate it. Paul Pagal
- 11:26Speaker 5: as well. Thank you.
- 11:28Speaker 2: And they gave you the final point.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Holy cow. What did you do?
- 11:32Speaker 2: What did you do? By the way, I do have
- 11:33Speaker 2: to qualify. Yeah, right. The audio wasn't as good as
- 11:35Speaker 2: I heard.
- 11:36Speaker 3: See, he told you.
- 11:37Speaker 2: All right. You're right. It was a little tinny. Zoom sucks.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Zoom sucks.
- 11:41Speaker 2: A little hollow. No, that was fantastic.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Tonight on Cuomo, I will sound just studio pristine. That
- 11:46Speaker 3: was fantastic.
- 11:48Speaker 2: That was fantastic.
- 11:50Speaker 3: That was so cool.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Well done. You did a great job. Food for the
- 11:54Speaker 2: Poor does a great job every single day that we
- 11:57Speaker 2: do our fun stuff on air. They're feeding the hungry,
- 12:00Speaker 2: the poor. In fact, they've been doing this for over
- 12:03Speaker 2: 44 years. serving 4.7 billion meals. And we're honored to
- 12:08Speaker 2: partner with Food for the Poor here on the M &
- 12:10Speaker 2: M Extra podcast and invite you to join us and
- 12:13Speaker 2: step up and give hope and a future to families
- 12:16Speaker 2: who need it most. God calls us to help those
- 12:19Speaker 2: who are needy, who are deserving. And these wonderful people,
- 12:23Speaker 2: Mark and I have seen it firsthand. We both traveled
- 12:25Speaker 2: to Guatemala together with your family and just had such
- 12:28Speaker 2: a wonderful experience. Please take a moment and and support
- 12:33Speaker 2: Food for the Poor.
- 12:34Speaker 3: We hope that this is the moment where in watching
- 12:36Speaker 3: or listening, you say, you know what? I hear about
- 12:38Speaker 3: these wonderful people. I hear about what Mike and Mark
- 12:40Speaker 3: have done and what they've seen and the babies they've
- 12:41Speaker 3: held and the lives that have been saved. And maybe
- 12:44Speaker 3: this is the moment where you give us five bucks
- 12:46Speaker 3: or 50 or 500, whatever. We don't care. We're just
- 12:48Speaker 3: so thrilled to have your generosity at FFTP. Text FFTP,
- 12:52Speaker 3: Food for the Poor. Text FFTP to 51555. Text FFTP
- 12:55Speaker 3: to 51555. We thank you. Food for the Poor thanks you.
- 13:02Speaker 3: You know who really thanks you? These kids who will
- 13:04Speaker 3: eat because of you. FFTP to 51555. Thank you.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Now, everybody knows you're suffering a little bit with a
- 13:10Speaker 2: bad knee. You blew out your knee the other day.
- 13:12Speaker 2: You got an MRI yesterday. I don't want anybody thinking
- 13:15Speaker 2: that relief factor can cure something like that overnight. But look,
- 13:20Speaker 2: whatever might happen with you, and you might have to
- 13:22Speaker 2: have a little procedure to get it all better. You'll
- 13:26Speaker 2: be a little sore, but you know what you're going
- 13:27Speaker 2: to have in your corner? Relief factor 100%. Drug-free pain relief.
- 13:32Speaker 2: And that's what I love the most about our friends
- 13:34Speaker 2: at Relief Factor. I've been to their headquarters a couple
- 13:36Speaker 2: of times before, Mark, up in the Pacific Northwest. Maybe
- 13:39Speaker 2: we'll bring you along someday to meet these great people.
- 13:42Speaker 2: They have a heart for the hurting. And now you're
- 13:44Speaker 2: out there when you're not limping around on crutches.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 13:47Speaker 2: You're throwing the ball with the dogs and you appreciate,
- 13:50Speaker 2: like I do, not having any lower back pain, shoulder pain,
- 13:53Speaker 2: neck pain, hip pain. It's Relief Factor, a real important
- 13:57Speaker 2: partner here on the M & M Extra podcast.
- 13:59Speaker 3: And that is exactly what I had. It sounds like
- 14:01Speaker 3: I'm falling apart, my knees, my shoulders. But it was
- 14:04Speaker 3: kind of a rotator cuff shoulder thing, and it just
- 14:06Speaker 3: went away. I started the quick start, which you can
- 14:08Speaker 3: do for $ 17. 76 at 1-800-4-RELIEF or relieffactor.com. What part of
- 14:14Speaker 3: your body are you talking about? What little nagging pain
- 14:17Speaker 3: can we take care of? Let's find out what your
- 14:19Speaker 3: success story can be. relieffactor.com or 1-800-4-RELIEF.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I want to go from evil to good in the
- 14:27Speaker 2: rest of our time together, Mark. Let's do it. I
- 14:29Speaker 2: want to do something. Do you mind doing this? Because
- 14:31Speaker 2: I think you'll like this and you'll appreciate this. My
- 14:34Speaker 2: heart is really heavy when I saw a clip of
- 14:37Speaker 2: a beautiful young woman on the campus of the University
- 14:41Speaker 2: of Texas, San Antonio. Oh, Lord, the poem. I've actually
- 14:46Speaker 2: been on this campus before. UTSA, as it's affectionately known.
- 14:50Speaker 3: San Antonio, great, great community, great people.
- 14:52Speaker 2: San Antonio University. UTSA is regarded as a nationally recognized
- 14:56Speaker 2: top-tier public research university that, on their website, unites higher education,
- 15:02Speaker 2: biomedical discovery, and healthcare. And, you know, Charlie Kirk was
- 15:07Speaker 2: killed at one of these events. They called it Prove
- 15:11Speaker 2: Me Wrong. And he would invite college kids to debate
- 15:15Speaker 2: him because he loved the art of debate. And he
- 15:18Speaker 2: would present his passionate views. He would invite politics. leftists
- 15:23Speaker 2: to present their passionate views, because debate is what we need.
- 15:28Speaker 2: We've got to have conversation. We can't talk at each other.
- 15:32Speaker 2: We've got to talk with each other. And so over
- 15:34Speaker 2: at Turning Point USA, the organization that Charlie founded, they've
- 15:39Speaker 2: continued this tradition. A young man named Christian Collins was
- 15:44Speaker 2: in a tent set up very similarly to that fateful
- 15:47Speaker 2: day where Charlie was killed in Utah. And I saw
- 15:51Speaker 2: last night on social media, he posted a tweet. On X,
- 15:54Speaker 2: he said, at UTSA for Pick Up the Mic, a
- 15:59Speaker 2: student read a poem celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk
- 16:03Speaker 2: with such glee, then told me I was brave to
- 16:06Speaker 2: be out here without my neck covered. I told her
- 16:10Speaker 2: I'd pray for her. He said in the post, this
- 16:13Speaker 2: is the climate. We pick up the mic anyway. Which
- 16:17Speaker 2: just gave me chills because he's like, you know what?
- 16:20Speaker 2: We're going to still pick up the mic. We're going
- 16:22Speaker 2: to still debate. But I want you to see and
- 16:24Speaker 2: hear what this young woman, again, beautiful girl, big oversized glasses,
- 16:29Speaker 2: but a very attractive young woman. And incidentally, we now
- 16:32Speaker 2: know a lot about her and her mother and father.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Oh, Lordy, I'll bet we do.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Oh, boy.
- 16:38Speaker 2: And it's going to be, they're having a bad day,
- 16:41Speaker 2: this family, because this thing went viral. And here's what
- 16:44Speaker 2: she said. had the temerity to do. Here's what she
- 16:47Speaker 2: had the boldness to do, the audaciousness to do, to
- 16:51Speaker 2: show up at a public event on the campus of
- 16:55Speaker 2: the University of Texas at San Antonio.
- 16:58Speaker 8: If you could announce your name and speak loudly, thank
- 17:00Speaker 8: you so much.
- 17:01Speaker 4: I go by Pamper Baby. Yeah.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Okay.
- 17:04Speaker 4: So I took a plan B and I'm an immigrant
- 17:06Speaker 4: this morning, like feeling kind of guilty. So I wanted
- 17:09Speaker 4: to read a poem that I actually wrote. It was like,
- 17:12Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Do you have a question, though?
- 17:14Speaker 4: No, I just wanted to share. I felt like, you know,
- 17:17Speaker 4: freedom of speech. I wanted to share a poem I
- 17:19Speaker 4: wrote for everybody. It was the night before the Kirkiversary,
- 17:23Speaker 4: and all through the house, not a creature was stirring,
- 17:26Speaker 4: not even a mouse. The flags were hung proudly, the
- 17:29Speaker 4: memes all on deck, as we solemnly remembered a shot
- 17:33Speaker 4: to the neck. The podcast fell silent, the hot takes
- 17:37Speaker 4: grew wary, for tomorrow, dear friends, is the great Kirkiversary.
- 17:42Speaker 4: So I'll see everyone at the Squirt for Kirk. We're
- 17:44Speaker 4: hosting that also on October 10th.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I'll see y'all there.
- 17:47Speaker 4: It's a BYOE, you know, vaccines included.
- 17:52Speaker 6: See y'all there.
- 17:53Speaker 2: That's all. Are you happy with yourself now? I mean,
- 17:57Speaker 2: I think that was just.
- 17:59Speaker 6: Baby, I'm thrilled.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I mean.
- 18:01Speaker 4: You're brave for being out here, you know, no protection,
- 18:03Speaker 4: no nothing, no like neck brace or.
- 18:06Speaker 2: I'll pray for you. Which was a nice thing to say. Now,
- 18:11Speaker 2: she said in the beginning she was an immigrant. Turns
- 18:15Speaker 2: out she apparently is. She and her family, apparently a
- 18:18Speaker 2: very wealthy, successful family. A couple of people, her mom
- 18:22Speaker 2: and dad are in Houston. I'm not going to identify
- 18:24Speaker 2: her on this podcast. I'm not interested in doxing people.
- 18:28Speaker 2: But you can find it on social media because it's everywhere.
- 18:30Speaker 2: If you want to. Yeah, if you want to, go ahead.
- 18:33Speaker 2: The mother is apparently a successful realtor. For the moment. Yeah,
- 18:37Speaker 2: no kidding.
- 18:38Speaker 3: And that's on almost another podcast talk show topic.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Well, that's what I want to talk about.
- 18:42Speaker 3: What should the consequence for this vile, repellent moment be?
- 18:48Speaker 2: Well, and the father is a very successful businessman in
- 18:51Speaker 2: Houston as well. And they are from Brazil.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Brazil.
- 18:56Speaker 2: And even though I mean, who knows if they're naturalized,
- 19:00Speaker 2: if they are. But she is an immigrant. Apparently she
- 19:02Speaker 2: was being accurate.
- 19:04Speaker 3: And of course, the first thing I'll say, first thing
- 19:05Speaker 3: I'll say is let's leave mom and dad alone. Because
- 19:08Speaker 3: maybe this is an ill-raised, poisonous little bitch raised by
- 19:12Speaker 3: parents who raised her to be exactly that. Or maybe
- 19:16Speaker 3: they did everything they could and the world got a
- 19:18Speaker 3: hold of her and this just happened. Because we've talked
- 19:22Speaker 3: about this. You don't ever presume from the kid what
- 19:26Speaker 3: the parents have or have not done. So I'm going
- 19:28Speaker 3: to say let's leave the parents alone. But for this
- 19:30Speaker 3: young lady, what do you think?
- 19:33Speaker 2: Well, I mean, the one question I raise is whether
- 19:36Speaker 2: or not she should be facing any disciplinary action from
- 19:40Speaker 2: the college. Should UTSA discipline her, Mark?
- 19:44Speaker 3: Okay, good question. Good place to start. If free speech
- 19:47Speaker 3: means free speech, right? Show up and say anything is
- 19:50Speaker 3: kind of the vibe at this event. So I'm going
- 19:55Speaker 3: to say no. Because then it means we make a
- 19:58Speaker 3: tribunal that says there are some things you can say
- 20:01Speaker 3: that are so provocative at an open mic event that
- 20:05Speaker 3: we're going to sanction you. And the person that we
- 20:09Speaker 3: sanctioned today and we all go, yeah, she deserved it,
- 20:12Speaker 3: is the person we sanctioned tomorrow. Some university sanctions tomorrow
- 20:16Speaker 3: for saying there are only two genders. So I don't
- 20:18Speaker 3: think that's a road I want to go down. So no,
- 20:20Speaker 3: I would say no.
- 20:22Speaker 2: It's an interesting argument and I would have to interpret
- 20:25Speaker 2: it as meaning you don't want her to face any consequences.
- 20:27Speaker 3: OK, here's the thing. From the university, for daring to
- 20:30Speaker 3: say something disgusting, no. Because free speech is there. The
- 20:35Speaker 3: First Amendment is there to protect unpopular speech. And boy,
- 20:38Speaker 3: is that unpopular. So here's the thing. I don't know
- 20:41Speaker 3: her name, and nor do I necessarily need to. We
- 20:43Speaker 3: do then get to the notion of maybe an employer.
- 20:46Speaker 3: If everybody knows that Joe Smith... who says something repellent
- 20:52Speaker 3: like that that goes viral, and at Joe Smith's job,
- 20:55Speaker 3: the company Joe Smith works for starts to get calls saying,
- 20:58Speaker 3: do you employ Joe Smith? I'm never going to shop.
- 21:00Speaker 2: With you again.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Can the company then fire Joe Smith? You bet they can,
- 21:05Speaker 3: because Joe, by opening his big mouth, has brought negative
- 21:08Speaker 3: attention to that business.
- 21:11Speaker 2: OK, the good news is I'm not Paul Begala. So
- 21:14Speaker 2: nice try. Nice dodge. Nice evasion. But you didn't answer
- 21:18Speaker 2: the question because the truth of the matter is you changed.
- 21:21Speaker 2: You pivoted. Let me tell you why.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Let me tell you.
- 21:25Speaker 2: No, no. Let me. You changed a different. You went through.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I asked you if a college student who says such
- 21:31Speaker 2: a despicable, violent thing. threatening thing because she was threatening
- 21:35Speaker 2: him too. So glad you're here without a neck covering.
- 21:39Speaker 2: You don't want any accountability, Mark. So going by your answer,
- 21:44Speaker 2: let's say she's not employed. She's a full-time college student.
- 21:47Speaker 2: You're telling me you think she should be able to
- 21:49Speaker 2: stand up and get away with that crap? Mark, there's
- 21:53Speaker 2: got to be accountability. There's got to be a reckoning
- 21:56Speaker 2: for this, because if we don't give these people accountability
- 21:58Speaker 2: and consequences, they're never going to stop doing it. It's
- 22:01Speaker 2: going to get worse before it gets better.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Do you think on the campus that it was a
- 22:05Speaker 3: good day for her or a bad day for her? Well,
- 22:08Speaker 3: she had people.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Cheering for her. She had people in the background cheering
- 22:11Speaker 2: for her. Did you hear when she said the shot
- 22:15Speaker 2: round and they go, whoo?
- 22:17Speaker 3: Yeah, the Kirk anniversary and all that.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Mark, this is becoming a movement. The left has become
- 22:24Speaker 2: incredibly violent. They celebrate violence. They worship violence. This is
- 22:29Speaker 2: not a small group anymore, Mark. This is a large
- 22:32Speaker 2: dominant faction with whom Democrats can't win elections. I'll bet
- 22:35Speaker 2: she votes. I'll bet if she's allowed to, or even
- 22:38Speaker 2: if she's not, she'll vote, although it is Texas. But
- 22:41Speaker 2: there's no debate. They're not interested in changing your mind
- 22:44Speaker 2: or having a debate.
- 22:46Speaker 3: It's a repulsive way to be.
- 22:48Speaker 2: But, Mark, they want us to die. They want us
- 22:51Speaker 2: to die. I know.
- 22:52Speaker 3: And they'll call us Hitler, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
- 22:55Speaker 2: They want to kill us. Call me Hitler. Just please
- 22:57Speaker 2: don't kill me.
- 22:57Speaker 3: I think I'm sticking with this, and I'm going to
- 23:01Speaker 3: be a free speech absolutist. Now, if she gets up
- 23:03Speaker 3: there and says, hey— everybody, let's gather out on the
- 23:06Speaker 3: quad and start killing conservatives, then that's incitement to violence. Absolutely.
- 23:12Speaker 3: But I don't think I want to start making a
- 23:13Speaker 3: list of things that get so disgusting. We don't let
- 23:17Speaker 3: you say them because the campus where we do that
- 23:20Speaker 3: and we love the result is the campus tomorrow where
- 23:23Speaker 3: they decide it's a terrible thing to say that we're
- 23:26Speaker 3: a Christian nation.
- 23:28Speaker 2: We want you to be sure to like and subscribe
- 23:31Speaker 2: wherever you are, whatever platform you're on. Thank you for
- 23:34Speaker 2: taking us over 5,000 subscribers today on the M &
- 23:37Speaker 2: M Extra YouTube channel. And I love watching the comments
- 23:40Speaker 2: on the live chat for YouTube. And I just had
- 23:43Speaker 2: a very, very interesting comment that I want to throw out.
- 23:48Speaker 2: To you, Mark, I think it's Jackie Dunn, JCK Dunn,
- 23:55Speaker 2: who simply said, we are not voting our way out
- 23:59Speaker 2: of this. That's such a powerful declaration. Can we vote
- 24:03Speaker 2: our way out of this? What the hell does that mean?
- 24:06Speaker 2: It means that it's not enough. Okay, so what else?
- 24:10Speaker 2: We might do well. Well, I don't know. How do
- 24:12Speaker 2: we get out of this?
- 24:14Speaker 3: I'm a big fan. Okay, good point. I guess a
- 24:19Speaker 3: couple of things you can mean. We're not voting our
- 24:21Speaker 3: way out of this means that showing up and voting
- 24:23Speaker 3: the right way may not fix everything so well. There's
- 24:27Speaker 3: a dark turn one can take from that that I
- 24:29Speaker 3: want no part of. But as with a whole lot
- 24:31Speaker 3: of other national problems, yes, we have to vote. But
- 24:34Speaker 3: we also have to get out in our real lives,
- 24:36Speaker 3: bring people to Christ, be good examples ourselves of what
- 24:40Speaker 3: it means to be a good person, spread the light
- 24:43Speaker 3: out in your world with your family and your friends,
- 24:46Speaker 3: do things in your community that spread the light of
- 24:48Speaker 3: the kind of person you are. So in that realm, sure,
- 24:52Speaker 3: I would join that we don't vote ourselves out of it.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Yeah, and the good news is we can vote our
- 24:57Speaker 2: way out of leadership that reflects that kind of garbage.
- 25:00Speaker 4: Yes, we can.
- 25:01Speaker 2: We're about to, too, I hope. And we're five days away.
- 25:03Speaker 2: I hope you're right. And here's another commenter on the
- 25:07Speaker 2: YouTube chat. Mark's answer was spot on. He didn't say
- 25:11Speaker 2: no consequences. After all, who says she can't wake up
- 25:15Speaker 2: with a horse head in her bed?
- 25:18Speaker 1: No, no.
- 25:18Speaker 2: It's the calm, loving M & M Extra podcast. All
- 25:21Speaker 2: righty then. Yes, our warm, fuzzy bunch of lovable folks.
- 25:26Speaker 2: All right, I want to end on a happy, happy note.
- 25:29Speaker 2: And I want to go, this is what I mean
- 25:31Speaker 2: by going from evil to good.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Yes.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Because I want to talk World Series after I talk
- 25:37Speaker 2: our wonderful, wonderful friends at Preborn, our title sponsor. We
- 25:42Speaker 2: appreciate so much the opportunity to give you a chance
- 25:45Speaker 2: to save lives, to save babies. When a young woman
- 25:48Speaker 2: sees her baby on an ultrasound and hears her baby's heartbeat,
- 25:51Speaker 2: it doubles the chance she's going to choose life. $ 28
- 25:54Speaker 2: a month, Mark, can help save a baby a month.
- 25:56Speaker 2: That's less than a dollar a day. Preborn, I talked
- 25:59Speaker 2: to Dan Steiner from Preborn the other day. He's so
- 26:02Speaker 2: grateful to the M & M Extra program. Podcast family,
- 26:05Speaker 2: you've already donated over $ 30, 000 to help save lives. Ultrasound machines, donations.
- 26:11Speaker 2: This is a very generous audience, my friend.
- 26:14Speaker 3: And they have shown time and time again that they're
- 26:16Speaker 3: interested in doing more than just talking the talk, walking
- 26:19Speaker 3: the walk of being pro-life. And here's what you do.
- 26:21Speaker 3: $ 140 helps give five mothers a free ultrasound and save babies. 280,
- 26:26Speaker 3: 10 moms, 10 babies. $ 28 a month can help save
- 26:29Speaker 3: a baby a month for less than a dollar a day.
- 26:32Speaker 3: And this audience has financed not just one, but two
- 26:34Speaker 3: $ 15, 000 ultrasound machines that are saving lives every day. So
- 26:39Speaker 3: to be a part of this with whatever level of
- 26:40Speaker 3: generosity you can muster, we're grateful no matter what. 833-850-BABY, 833-850-BABY,
- 26:48Speaker 3: or preborn.com slash mmextra. And Mike, speaking of gratitude, I

- 27:56Speaker 3: We really love singing it. We really do. Don't make us.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Actually do it. When Eric gets on the phone, I
- 28:01Speaker 2: can see him on the phone. That's the best part.

- 28:11Speaker 1: All right.
- 28:11Speaker 2: On that happy note, well, a little bit late. He
- 28:13Speaker 2: missed rehearsal. What can I say?
- 28:15Speaker 3: Hang on a second.
- 28:15Speaker 2: You know what's awesome?
- 28:16Speaker 3: Because you do what I do. You look at the
- 28:18Speaker 3: B-roll and the phone number vanished from the B-roll.
- 28:21Speaker 2: I know. It was gone.
- 28:23Speaker 3: I don't remember. But I wrote it down.
- 28:29Speaker 2: It's 1-800.
- 28:29Speaker 3: Do you know it? Oh, good. It's 1-800-619-4830. There it
- 28:32Speaker 3: is again. 1-800-619-4830 or promo code extra. Thank you.
- 28:37Speaker 2: I'll appreciate it. Thank you for embarrassing me. Thank you
- 28:39Speaker 2: for pointing me out.
- 28:40Speaker 3: No, it's the best because I see the same thing
- 28:42Speaker 3: you do.
- 28:42Speaker 1: I do.
- 28:42Speaker 3: And I say, he's going to do the phone number.
- 28:44Speaker 3: And then it went to the other graphic and the
- 28:46Speaker 3: beer on it. Oh, he's been screwed.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Like I said, call that number on your screen. Whatever
- 28:52Speaker 2: it is. Whatever it may be. I'll buy it a
- 28:56Speaker 2: couple weeks from now. We'll memorize it. We'll write this down. Look,
- 29:01Speaker 2: it was fun to go walk by the Tropicana Field
- 29:04Speaker 2: the other day. I've got a World Series in my backyard.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Tampa Bay sucked. Pardon my language.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Well, they won one game. They won a 12-inning classic,
- 29:13Speaker 3: and it showed there was life in the old team yet.
- 29:16Speaker 2: But it was all Milwaukee, and this apparently is a
- 29:20Speaker 2: bunch of clean-cut— God-loving, Bible-believing people. I mean, I've seen
- 29:26Speaker 2: about five interviews with players with a spiritual gratitude for
- 29:31Speaker 2: where they are. And I'm going to close today with
- 29:34Speaker 2: a conversation between Fox Sports' Tom Verducci and the Brewers'
- 29:41Speaker 2: star shortstop, Cooper Pratt. Check out a perfect way to
- 29:46Speaker 2: end an M & M Extra five days before this historic, important,
- 29:52Speaker 2: crucial midterm election.
- 29:54Speaker 8: To see the Brewers win the World Series. How do
- 29:57Speaker 8: you describe this feeling now that it is a reality?
- 30:00Speaker 9: This is one of the greatest moments of my life.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 30:08Speaker 9: It doesn't even feel real.
- 30:09Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 30:12Speaker 2: This is surreal. It only took four months.
- 30:16Speaker 8: The way you played baseball, especially in this World Series, Cooper,
- 30:21Speaker 8: how do you explain raising your game to this level?
- 30:25Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh. I mean, we have the best fans.
- 30:29Speaker 3: It's loud.
- 30:29Speaker 9: It's crazy. The pressure is out of this world. It's
- 30:34Speaker 9: some of the hardest but most fun baseball I've ever
- 30:36Speaker 9: been a part of. And I messed up a lot
- 30:39Speaker 9: of times this postseason, but the guys picked me up,
- 30:43Speaker 9: and we're here, and we're world champions, and it's so special, man.
- 30:49Speaker 2: I'm so blessed.
- 30:51Speaker 9: I owe it all to my Heavenly Father.
- 30:53Speaker 2: It's amazing.
- 30:55Speaker 8: Enjoy it so much.
- 30:56Speaker 1: So well deserved.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Thank you. Thank you guys. Mark.
- 31:00Speaker 3: I had not seen that.
- 31:02Speaker 2: I had not seen that.
- 31:03Speaker 3: I mean, I watched a little, I watched the end
- 31:04Speaker 3: of the game. And then that young man out of
- 31:06Speaker 3: born in Hialeah, Florida, just down the road from you.
- 31:09Speaker 3: He is 20. He is 22. And just get it.
- 31:14Speaker 3: It's the kind of thing that gives you hope for
- 31:15Speaker 3: the younger folks. My God bless him. Good for you. Brewers.
- 31:19Speaker 3: No matter who won, it was going to be the
- 31:20Speaker 3: first world series ever. The Rays have been in a
- 31:23Speaker 3: couple of three now, I guess. Maybe next time, and
- 31:25Speaker 3: maybe you'll have a World Series victory in your backyard.
- 31:28Speaker 3: But way to go, Milwaukee Brewers. Well, well, well done.
- 31:32Speaker 2: And thank you, Cooper Pratt, for that inspirational message. Tomorrow's podcast,
- 31:36Speaker 2: Prediction Friday. We're going to go out on a limb
- 31:39Speaker 2: and we are going to literally predict. I don't think
- 31:41Speaker 2: I'm going to have the guts to do it on
- 31:42Speaker 2: the talk show. Here on the podcast, I will give
- 31:45Speaker 2: you my official. Stuff we won't do on the radio,
