- 1:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:27SPEAKER_02: I mean, yes, exactly.
- 1:29SPEAKER_03: No, but did you know there's a change?
- 1:31SPEAKER_03: Excuse me.
- 1:32SPEAKER_03: There's a change with Hot Pockets! And uh, I'll let this TikToker explain.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: I know we're in an economic crisis right now because I just got a thing of hot pockets.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: Like, they don't even come with the pocket anymore.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: What?
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: Just with the hot.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Can't even afford the pocket.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: Like, you just have to raw dog it in the microwave.
- 1:48SPEAKER_03: Raw dog it in the microwave.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: He's talking about the sleeves.
- 1:51SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:52SPEAKER_03: The foil on the inside.
- 1:53SPEAKER_03: Well, it's kind of a foily look, and then it's paper on the outside.
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: Well, how does it cook properly?
- 1:57SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 1:58SPEAKER_02: How does it incinerate the inside of my mouth?
- 2:00SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 2:01SPEAKER_03: Do you did they change something in the recipe?
- 2:03SPEAKER_03: That means we now we have to Google where's the sleeve in the hot pockets.
- 2:06SPEAKER_02: Okay, hang on a second.
- 2:08SPEAKER_03: Where's the sleeve in the Hot Pockets?
- 2:13SPEAKER_03: Having a lot of fun with that little jingle, by the way.
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: I love the uh Jim Gaffigan hot pocket um bit.
- 2:19SPEAKER_02: It's so great.
- 2:20SPEAKER_02: Hot pockets no longer come with a crisping sleeve.
- 2:23SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 2:24SPEAKER_02: Because Nestle permanently retired the feature from all packaging, citing sustainability.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: Um when did this happen though?
- 2:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I this goes to show how long it's been since I bought a hot pocket.
- 2:37SPEAKER_02: Um, same.
- 2:38SPEAKER_02: Um five months ago it was on Reddit, so I don't know.
- 2:41SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 2:42SPEAKER_03: People started noticing.
- 2:43SPEAKER_03: Maybe it was very recently.
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: Six days ago it was put on the Today show.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: So really?
- 2:47SPEAKER_03: Yeah So you're right.
- 2:49SPEAKER_03: Does it now I'm gonna have to buy a package of Hot Pockets and just make them I'm gonna have to raw a dog them, quote unquote, yes.
- 2:55SPEAKER_03: In the microwave and see what the difference is.
- 2:57SPEAKER_03: Uh yes.
- 2:58SPEAKER_03: Because here's the thing.
- 2:59SPEAKER_03: You remember they called it a crisping sleeve?
- 3:02SPEAKER_03: An incinerator?
- 3:03SPEAKER_03: There was never crispness to a hot pocket.
- 3:07SPEAKER_03: It was it was always just lava hot, kind of firm dough.
- 3:11SPEAKER_02: The crisp was at the end.
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: It was the like the the the the corners, if you will.
- 3:19SPEAKER_02: Yes, and they're they're toothbreakers.
- 3:22SPEAKER_03: And they were, if you think about it, they were outside the sleeve.
- 3:25SPEAKER_02: The amount of dental work that you have to do after a hot pocket.
- 3:28SPEAKER_03: You're kidding me, Dr.
- 3:29SPEAKER_03: Brown's in uh corning right now, is in business thanks to Hot Pocket Corners.
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: No joke.
- 3:33SPEAKER_02: Wait, let me see if I can find this.
- 3:34SPEAKER_02: Hold on a second.
- 3:35SPEAKER_02: Oh wow, this is gonna be quick.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: This is gonna be real quick.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: Uh here's a 50-second hot pocket bit from Jim Gaffkin.
- 3:43SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay.
- 3:44SPEAKER_04: Summer my wife and I we rented a house, and uh the people we rented the house from filled the freezer with hot pockets.
- 3:57SPEAKER_02: Really quick, I do want to say this.
- 4:00SPEAKER_02: Over back in April, Zach and I took our first vacation together, and they also left these little like hot pocket freezer things, and I'm like, Yeah, thank you, baby Jesus.
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: Because when you are take a train back from New York City and you're so hungry, and this little tiny Hudson town is called Croton on Hudson, nothing is open, not even a gas station.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: You're like, thank you, thank you for this hot pocket.
- 4:21SPEAKER_02: Anyway, keep going.
- 4:22SPEAKER_04: My kids had never eaten a hot pocket before.
- 4:25SPEAKER_03: Oh, stop right there.
- 4:27SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 4:27SPEAKER_03: See?

- 4:50SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay.
- 4:50SPEAKER_02: So maybe I should buy some hot pocket.
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: Have you ever thought about a hot pocket?
- 4:53SPEAKER_02: Okay, I can't believe your kids have never had a hot pocket.
- 4:56SPEAKER_02: I'll come back.
- 4:56SPEAKER_02: Have they ever had a uh Tostino's pizza roll?
- 4:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, nobody's really a big fan of those.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: You know, they're okay.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: Come on, yeah, grow up.
- 5:02SPEAKER_04: Oh, now my wife wants them to live.
- 5:07SPEAKER_04: And somehow my 11-year-old tracked it down and he brought it, he brought it back.
- 5:11SPEAKER_04: He ran over to me and my wife and he's like, Can I eat this?
- 5:13SPEAKER_04: Can I eat this?
- 5:14SPEAKER_04: And I looked at my wife because I have no authority.
- 5:16SPEAKER_04: I'm like, She goes, Yes, and I'm like, okay, you can go ahead and do that.
- 5:23SPEAKER_04: And so then he ate the hot pocket and he died.
- 5:28SPEAKER_03: I know I'm not alone on this.
- 5:30SPEAKER_03: Can anyone else text in?
- 5:31SPEAKER_03: Has their kid ever eaten a hot pocket?
- 5:33SPEAKER_03: Yes or no?
- 5:35SPEAKER_03: Kevin and Lydia have never had a hot pocket.
- 5:37SPEAKER_02: I can't believe that.
- 5:38SPEAKER_03: That was a but as far in as we go as uh the uh instant mac and cheese that you get in a little styrofoam cup from uh sustainability.
- 5:48SPEAKER_03: There's a a good uh example.
- 5:49SPEAKER_02: Styrofoam plastic.
- 5:51SPEAKER_03: We're back to that.
- 5:52SPEAKER_03: Anyone?
- 5:53SPEAKER_03: I mean, I I haven't had a hot pocket in 20 years at least.
- 5:57SPEAKER_03: I feel like we should do a hot pocket taste test.
- 5:59SPEAKER_03: Which would be fine.
- 6:00SPEAKER_02: And we'll after the show we can go to Dollar General.
- 6:03SPEAKER_03: I'm sure they still have the band-aid on the burn and the inside of my mouth is not the easiest trick, but I'm up for it.
