Matthew 11: The Rest of the King
In Matthew 11, Jesus confronts two very different responses to truth: honest doubt that seeks answers and hardened unbelief that refuses them.
John the Baptist sits in prison wrestling with unmet expectations. He had faithfully announced the coming Messiah, yet the kingdom had not unfolded the way he expected. Instead of rebuking John for asking, Jesus points him back to the evidence: the blind see, the lame walk, the dead are raised, and the poor hear the good news.
Matthew 11 shows us that sincere faith can struggle without becoming faithless. The real danger is not the person who asks…
