- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Epstein Chronicles. Yesterday, the New York Times ran a pretty
- 0:09extensive piece about Jeffrey Epstein and how he was able
- 0:13to put together the kind of fortune that he put together,
- 0:17and one of the parts of the story had to
- 0:19do with Bara Stearns and how he got that job
- 0:22and how he kept it. But like usual, they're missing
- 0:25a gigantic piece, and that piece, of course, is how
- 0:28Jeffrey Epstein was able to avoid getting in trouble when
- 0:32the walls started to close in at Barra Stearns. So
- 0:36in this episode, we're going to stick to what the
- 0:38New York Times had to say as far as him
- 0:41lying on his resume and as far as him dating
- 0:44the boss's daughter. And in the next episode we'll get
- 0:48deeper into the weeds on how Jeffrey Epstein was able
- 0:51to avoid legal trouble when just about everybody else wasn't.
- 0:55But first things first. This article was published by The
- 0:58New York Post and the headline Jeffrey Epstein kept Barri
- 1:02Stern's job despite lying on resume while he was dating
- 1:05the boss's daughter. This article was authored by Ariel Zilber,
- 1:11Jeffrey Epstein managed to keep his job at Wall Street
- 1:14giant bear Stearns after he was caught lying about his resume,
- 1:17thanks in part to his romantic relationship with a daughter
- 1:21of one of the firm's most powerful executives, according to
- 1:24a report, And as you know, if you get caught
- 1:26lying on your resume, that usually means you're not going
- 1:29to get the job, or if you do get the job,
- 1:31you're going to be fired. But when it comes to Epstein,
- 1:35no big deal, Just some fell dass math teacher that
- 1:38shows up and all of a sudden he's some kind
- 1:40of tighten on Wall Street. The whole entire story has
- 1:43stunk from the very beginning, and the fact that people
- 1:46are just catching on is wild as hell. None of
- 1:49this was the secret. Everybody knew about Jeffrey Epstein's job
- 1:52over at Bari Stearns, how he got that job, how
- 1:54he kept that job. But all of a sudden, it's
- 1:57a gigantic story in the New York Times. Where were
- 2:00they five years ago? Oh, that's right, they were in
- 2:03bed with Epstein via Landon Thomas. That's where they were.
- 2:06Instead of doing hard hitting pieces on how this whole
- 2:09entire thing was a gigantic shit show. They were carrying
- 2:13water for not only Jeffrey Epstein, but for the powers
- 2:16that be Epstein was just twenty three when he was
- 2:21hired as a junior trader at Baris Stearns in nineteen
- 2:23seventy six, despite having no college degree or a Wall
- 2:27Street experience. Must be nice, huh. Imagine you walked into
- 2:31one of these firms and tried to get a job.
- 2:34I'm sure that they would be very receptive to that.
- 2:37Around the same time, he began dating Lynn Greenberg, the
- 2:40twenty year old daughter of Ace Greenberg, a senior executive
- 2:43who would go on to become the firm CEO two
- 2:46years later. I am sure that everything was on the
- 2:50up and up that mister Greenberg had no idea that
- 2:53Jeffrey Epstein was a scumbag. I mean, that's what I'll
- 2:57tell you, and obviously we can't prove any differently. But
- 3:01come on, why are you hiring this dude who has
- 3:04no degree, no background on Wall Street, nothing like that,
- 3:07But you're gonna give him a job as a junior trader?
- 3:10Is that what I can expect if I park my
- 3:13money in one of these funds? Some jerk off like
- 3:16Jeffrey Epstein managing it well. Unfortunately, the answer is yes,
- 3:20that's exactly what you can expect. I mean, maybe not
- 3:24handling your money directly, but somewhere in the chain of things,
- 3:27there's some scumbag assuredly handling your money. Well. Epstein was
- 3:32dating Greenberg's daughter. Bear Stearns employees discovered that he had
- 3:35falsely claimed on his resume to have earned degrees from
- 3:38two California universities, neither of which had any record of
- 3:42him ever attending, according to The New York Times, And
- 3:46wouldn't that be enough right then and there to can
- 3:48your bitch ass. Imagine if you lied on your resume
- 3:51to get a job, and then your boss finds out
- 3:54that you lied, you're gonna get fired. I don't care
- 3:57if you're dating the boss's daughter or whatever. Gonna get canned.
- 4:01Not Jeffrey Epstein. And this is something that would happen
- 4:05time and time again throughout his life. Even when he
- 4:07got caught doing things that were out of bounds, things
- 4:11that were illegal, he was able to skate. And there's
- 4:15only one way that that happens, especially how many times
- 4:18that happened with Epstein. It's obvious that he was being protected.
- 4:23The question is by who. Well, in my opinion, this
- 4:27is exactly where it started. I think that Epstein was
- 4:30flipped by the FBI at bear Stearns and then farmed
- 4:33out to the CIA, and from there Epstein was off
- 4:36and running. Dude became a free agent and was working
- 4:40for various different groups, including CIA, Masad gru over in
- 4:46Russia probably you know, the MI six, certainly the saudiast
- 4:52and the list goes on and on and on. So
- 4:55there's no doubt in my mind that Epstein was being
- 4:57run by some off the book Black operation. And if
- 5:03you think that the CIA isn't still engaging in that
- 5:06kind of shit, you're crazy. They most certainly are, whether
- 5:08it's Epstein, whether it's running drugs, whether it's engaging in
- 5:12color revolutions all over the world, they're up to no good.
- 5:16When confronted by a supervisor, Epstein admitted that he lied
- 5:19about his education, telling the executive that without impressive credentials,
- 5:24nobody would give me a chance. The Times reported, well, yeah,
- 5:27that's the whole point. If you don't have the credentials,
- 5:30you don't get the job. I mean, it's pretty basic, right, Now, look,
- 5:35I get it. People lie on their resume and their
- 5:37applications for work all the time. But bro, you got caught,
- 5:41and once you get caught, that should be the end
- 5:43of it for most people anyway, But not for Epstein.
- 5:47And again, folks, look, it wasn't just this one time.
- 5:50It was time and time again. Every time the walls
- 5:53closed in on this dude, he was able to escape unscathed.
- 5:57And we could write off one time, you know, as
- 6:00lucky or him knowing how to maneuver through the legal
- 6:03system or whatever. But time and time again, I'm sorry,
- 6:07but I don't buy that. Despite a resume fraud that
- 6:10would typically get a Wall Street employee fired, Epstein was
- 6:13allowed to keep his job and was later promoted, a
- 6:16decision that former executive later acknowledged was influenced by his
- 6:20relationship with the boss's daughter. According to the report, So
- 6:24not only was this dude highly unqualified for the gig,
- 6:27but he was using nepotism to get promoted. Isn't that fantastic?
- 6:32No wonder Baron Stearn's ended up going bust. You can't
- 6:36run your business like this and expect things to continue
- 6:39to tick off correctly. Eventually, you're gonna get clipped. The
- 6:44only question is who's going to be left holding the bag,
- 6:47And no matter where he was, it was never Jeffrey Epstein.
- 6:52The relationship was reportedly facilitated by a Screenberg himself. Now
- 6:57think about that for a minute. You're pimping out your daughter,
- 7:00basically to Epstein boy Father of the Year award. According
- 7:04to The Times, the bear Sterns executive seated Epstein next
- 7:07to his daughter at a dinner party, a move that
- 7:10Lynn Greenberg later suspected was intentional. Play a matchmaker over here?
- 7:15What is this the fucking fiddler on the roof? Let
- 7:17me sit my daughter next to this weirdo who I
- 7:20know is a liar and try and hook her up. Look, folks,
- 7:23I've told you from the jump that the only kind
- 7:25of sin that these people take seriously is the sin
- 7:29of being poor. You can get away with anything else.
- 7:31You can say whatever you want, do whatever you want,
- 7:34act however you want, as long as you have dough.
- 7:39Michael Tannenbaum, Epstein's supervisor at the time, told The Times
- 7:42that the junior trader admitted to fraud when he confronted him.
- 7:47Admitted to fraud when he was confronted, Nothing happened, continue
- 7:51to work there, got promoted, just kept moving up the ladder.
- 7:55Just a typical day on Wall Street. Folks, you lied
- 7:58about your education, Tannin Bamb told Epstein, Yes, I know,
- 8:01Epstein replied, calmly, without an impressive degree or too. Epstein said,
- 8:05I knew nobody would give me a chance. Tannenbaumb later
- 8:09described being disarmed by Epstein's admission and said he agreed
- 8:12to give them a second chance. Well, better you than me.
- 8:17If I had a firm like this and you lied
- 8:19about your qualifications, or you lied about anything, I'm firing you.
- 8:23You're handling other people's money. Bro. You can't be some scumbag.
- 8:28I know they all are. But in a perfect world,
- 8:31if I know you're a scumbag and you're handling people's
- 8:33money for my company, you're fired. Not even a question,
- 8:37not a debate, And I don't care who your girlfriend is.
- 8:41That's not going to save you. But at bear Stearns,
- 8:44Well it most certainly did. Decades later, Tannenbomb expressed regret
- 8:50for not firing Epstein. I didn't realize that I was
- 8:52creating one of the monsters of Wall Street, he told
- 8:55the Times, and look anyway you chop it, he most
- 8:58certainly did create one of the monsters of Wall Street
- 9:01are at least helped Without bear Stearns, Epstein never is
- 9:04able to do the things that he did. This was
- 9:07the launch point, right, This is how he cut his teeth,
- 9:10made his bones, met everybody that he was going to
- 9:13end up being in business with at some point, and
- 9:15this is where he figured out that he could manipulate
- 9:17the financial system in a way that would bring him
- 9:21great wealth. Even if Tannenbaum wanted to fire Epstein, it's
- 9:25unclear he would have been able to give in that
- 9:28the relationship with Lynn Greenberg gave the junior trader protected
- 9:32status at the firm. According to The Times, well, yeah,
- 9:35when you're dating the boss's daughter, that usually gives you
- 9:38some sort of protection, right under normal circumstances, depending on
- 9:41what you're getting up to, depending on what you're doing.
- 9:45But something like this, it shouldn't matter who the boss's
- 9:48daughter is and who's dating her. If you get caught
- 9:51doing something like this, lying whatever, you're gone. Word spread
- 9:55within the company of Epstein's relationship with Lynn Greenberg. The
- 9:59Times reported the relationship eventually fizzled. Lynn Greenberg later told
- 10:04The Times that she came to the conclusion that Epstein
- 10:07lied about everything. Well, no shit, I don't know if
- 10:11there's ever been a bigger liar on the whole last planet.
- 10:14Maybe Glenn Maxwell, but Jeffrey Epstein certainly in the running.
- 10:18Ace Greenberg died in July of twenty fourteen. He was
- 10:21eighty six. Lynn Greenberg declined to comment when reached by
- 10:25The Post. A representative for the Epstein estate was not
- 10:28immediately available for comment. Epstein escaped from punishment would become
- 10:33a pattern. In nineteen eighty bear Stearns named him a
- 10:37limited partner, one rung below full partner, despite lingering concerns
- 10:41about his conduct. According to The Times, and here is
- 10:44what I'm talking about. They only touch on this. They
- 10:48don't go deeper into why Jeffrey Epstein was able to
- 10:51avoid all this trouble. But in the next episode we're
- 10:55going to touch on it a bit. The report detailed
- 10:59several instances of allegedmisconduct by Epstein while at Barristerns, including
- 11:04charging the company more than ten thousand dollars that he
- 11:06spent on jewelry and clothing for a girlfriend In nineteen eighty. Well,
- 11:11Jeffrey Epstein loved to use other people's money. We all
- 11:13know that. Despite the fact that Epstein was flagged for
- 11:17improper spending, he was not punished, according to the Times.
- 11:21The report also stated that Bearristerns executives knew that Epstein
- 11:24gave his girlfriend access to hot stock trades linked to
- 11:27clients just prior to them going public on the stock exchange,
- 11:32a major violation of investment banking rules. Well, how about
- 11:36that all that going on in Epstein somehow is able
- 11:40to avoid trouble. I guess he's just a real lucky guy.
- 11:43I guess that's the truth of the matter. And you know,
- 11:46everything else is just crazy, right right. Epstein also lent
- 11:51fifteen thousand dollars to a high school friend that also
- 11:54violated federal rules governing brokers, according to The Times. When
- 11:59the company conducted an investigation into the personal loan and
- 12:03the IPO shares, Epstein denied wrongdoing, saying that he was
- 12:06deeply offended at the suggestion that he broke the rules.
- 12:10After management find them twenty five hundred dollars and suspended
- 12:14them for two months, Epstein resigned, ending a five year
- 12:17tenure at the company. Bear Stearns ceased to exist after
- 12:22it collapsed in March of two thousand and eight, a
- 12:24victim of the crisis that was set off by subprime
- 12:27mortgage securities. Its assets were eventually absorbed by JP Morgan Chase.
- 12:32Oh well, I'm sure that's a coincidence too, right, Sure
- 12:35Epstein had nothing to do with that. Epstein would continue
- 12:38to trade on his Barristerns pedigree long after his departure.
- 12:42Former colleagues maintained friendships with them and introduced them to
- 12:46new clients, relationships that would prove extraordinarily lucrative. According to
- 12:50The Times, his tenure at barri Stearns helped them become
- 12:54a wealthy financier pedophile who used his money and connections
- 12:58to oversee a long running stax trafficking operation that preyed
- 13:02on underage girls, recruiting, grooming, and abusing dozens of victims
- 13:07over the years. Dozens. Trump's own Justice Department set at
- 13:10least a thousand where you getting dozens from? Epstein was
- 13:15first convicted in two thousand and eight on state prostitution
- 13:18charges involving a minor after securing a widely criticized plea
- 13:22deal then arrested again in twenty nineteen on federal sex
- 13:26trafficking charges, to which he pleaded not guilty. Epstein died
- 13:30in August of twenty nineteen in a Manhattan jel cell
- 13:33while awaiting trial, in a death rule the suicide by hanging.
- 13:38All right, So this isn't a news story. This is
- 13:41something that we've known for quite some time. But now
- 13:44that The New York Times is running it, maybe more
- 13:46people are going to pay attention, and maybe some more
- 13:49people are going to come forward about their dealings with
- 13:52Epstein through this period. Because there's no way in hell
- 13:56that Jeffrey Epstein was just lucky. There's no way in
- 13:59hell that Jeffrey Epstein was able to just keep his
- 14:02head down and avoid trouble. That's not how it works.
- 14:06So that's why when I talk about the Epstein files,
- 14:09I'm talking about things like the three to two reports,
- 14:12things that will give us an idea of who and
- 14:15what Jeffrey Epstein really was and who he was working for.
- 14:19And that's exactly the kind of information they've been trying
- 14:22to keep secret all these years, and that's why they
- 14:25continue to fight tooth and nail to keep the files sealed,
- 14:28so we'll see what we get on Friday. But I
- 14:32have a very funny feeling we're not going to get
- 14:34anything close to the three twos. But that's a conversation
- 14:38for a different time. As far as this one goes,
- 14:41that's going to do it. All of the information that
- 14:44goes with this episode can be found in the description box.
