The Home Discipleship Plan: Proverbs 1:1-7 · RESOLUTE MAN

• 0:00
[SPEAKER_00]: You are a man of God in a world against masculinity, willing to stand in the gap.
• 0:04
[SPEAKER_00]: An example of its good, you feel the pressure is to conform.
• 0:07
[SPEAKER_00]: But you're part of a growing few, rejecting your inner-passivity.
• 0:10
[SPEAKER_00]: So you can love others well.
• 0:12
[SPEAKER_00]: Stand for truth and lead on apologetically.
• 0:14
[SPEAKER_00]: The grain is not your path.
• 0:17
[SPEAKER_00]: You press forward as a resolute man.
• 0:21
[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome Jansson, thrilled to be doing this.
• 0:23
[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you're thrilled to be receiving it, getting the encouragement, the tips, the practical insights to take Proverbs to your family, which after going through this, will strengthen you in taking any book to your family because really what we're doing is we're working on muscle.
• 0:38
  [SPEAKER_00]: just like working out.
• 0:39
[SPEAKER_00]: If you work a muscle over and over again over a long period of time, it gets stronger.
• 0:43
[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't, it gets weaker.
• 0:45
[SPEAKER_00]: And so we are going to work a muscle as biblical men together.
• 0:50
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing the same thing with my family.
• 0:52
[SPEAKER_00]: And you are going to get stronger and stronger and feel more confident.
• 0:56
  [SPEAKER_00]: And
• 0:57
[SPEAKER_00]: and get more interesting to your family, so don't worry about just letting the scriptures speak for themselves.
• 1:03
[SPEAKER_00]: Literally at a most basic level of teaching your family, if you read the scriptures and pray together, that is a massive win, a huge win.
• 1:13
[SPEAKER_00]: Hearing scripture from the lips of their father is profoundly impactful, it's what God intended, most importantly, to be happening with
• 1:23
[SPEAKER_00]: the mom as well, you know, at times during the day and things like that, but they also need to hear from the father.
• 1:28
  [SPEAKER_00]: It's very important.
• 1:29
[SPEAKER_00]: So this one is that we're going to go through the first seven verses of Proverbs, and if you want to do even last with your family at first, that's feel free, you can split the content in this up in two different days.
• 1:41
[SPEAKER_00]: If you'd like really your drive in the ship here, I'm just here to be helpful.
• 1:45
[SPEAKER_00]: So I appreciate being part of the show wherever you listen, would you share, would you give five star review, would you share in social media, would you get involved in spread the word with the church and things like that?
• 1:55
[SPEAKER_00]: I think this is going to be a powerful thing.
• 1:57
[SPEAKER_00]: How many men can we get involved?
• 1:59
[SPEAKER_00]: that consistently, at least 40s a week, consistently, open the Bible and teach the Word of God to their families.
• 2:06
[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, what's gonna happen when that happens?
• 2:09
[SPEAKER_00]: Can you imagine how powerful that's gonna be?
• 2:11
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so there's always obstacles to spiritually eating your family.
• 2:17
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, one of them is this.
• 2:20
[SPEAKER_00]: My family isn't that into it.
• 2:23
[SPEAKER_00]: I have felt that at times, and it's not actually true, is the enemy feeding me lies.
• 2:27
[SPEAKER_00]: They're very much into it.
• 2:29
[SPEAKER_00]: They may not be used to it.
• 2:32
[SPEAKER_00]: See, if you're doing something new, you can't expect them just to be perfectly obedient, to be paying perfect attention, and
• 2:39
[SPEAKER_00]: and operating in the perfect environment for you to teach them the Bible.
• 2:44
  [SPEAKER_00]: Right?
• 2:44
  [SPEAKER_00]: They're children.
• 2:45
[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know how old yours are, but you know, we're all distracted human beings aren't we?
• 2:50
[SPEAKER_00]: So you have to have grace for your family.
• 2:52
  [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't mean they're not interested.
• 2:54
  [SPEAKER_00]: You're believing a lie if you're believing that.
• 2:56
[SPEAKER_00]: And even if your wife is busy at times, she's trying to do things for the family as well.
• 3:01
[SPEAKER_00]: So don't believe that lie.
• 3:02
[SPEAKER_00]: You need to move forward.
• 3:04
[SPEAKER_00]: Your family is into it.
• 3:05
[SPEAKER_00]: They're starving for even if they don't know it.
• 3:08
[SPEAKER_00]: And the more you do it, the more they're going to love it.
• 3:11
[SPEAKER_00]: It's about you obeying God with your God-given jurisdiction as dead, to read them the Bible.
• 3:17
  [SPEAKER_00]: You obey that.
• 3:18
[SPEAKER_00]: You try and do better and better for sure, but you obey that God is going to richly bless your family.
• 3:24
[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to see the fruit, but it doesn't all happen at once, sometimes it's consistently doing the right small actions over a long period of time,
• 3:32
[SPEAKER_00]: that creates a accumulated result and God's going to bless that and there's going to be fruitfulness from it.
• 3:37
[SPEAKER_00]: So remember, the prae acronym, right?
• 3:39
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to promote, we're going to read, might ask some questions right there, is that is the A?
• 3:45
[SPEAKER_00]: And then you're going to learn more and continue to grow in our understanding of the word.
• 3:48
[SPEAKER_00]: So we can wield the sword of the Spirit well, okay?
• 3:50
[SPEAKER_00]: So here, let's go into it.
• 3:52
  [SPEAKER_00]: So Proverbs 1, chapter 1, verse 1, through 7, okay?
• 3:57
  [SPEAKER_00]: Scripture introduction here.
• 3:59
[SPEAKER_00]: So this Scripture, and I would share this with my family,
• 4:02
[SPEAKER_00]: is really for two groups of people.
• 4:05
[SPEAKER_00]: It's for those who are naive and you'll see it's going to say simple.
• 4:09
[SPEAKER_00]: Those people are don't have strong understanding or strong wisdom already and they're learning.
• 4:16
[SPEAKER_00]: They might be younger people or people who never learn God's wisdom before.
• 4:20
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's for the naive and it's also for those already wise.
• 4:24
[SPEAKER_00]: So this is written to everybody essentially.
• 4:27
[SPEAKER_00]: and it's really important because there's no destination on wisdom.
• 4:30
[SPEAKER_00]: You're never going to arrive.
• 4:32
[SPEAKER_00]: You could be a phyologian and you are going to get more and more at a proverbs the more you read it.
• 4:39
[SPEAKER_00]: This might be important for if you have some older kids for them to hear that.
• 4:43
[SPEAKER_00]: If they've been reading the Bible for a long time, it's good to introduce it this way so that everybody at the table understands this was written.
• 4:50
  [SPEAKER_00]: God wants everybody
• 4:52
[SPEAKER_00]: no matter where they're at and they're walk with God to be paying attention to these wise words.
• 4:57
  [SPEAKER_00]: So chapter one here.
• 4:58
[SPEAKER_00]: So verse one says, The Proverbs of Solomon, Son of David, King of Israel.
• 5:03
[SPEAKER_00]: So a little introduction right here of who wrote this, who Solomon is.
• 5:08
[SPEAKER_00]: If you did, I talked about last time, you kind of shared all, give an introduction to Solomon and so forth.
• 5:15
  [SPEAKER_00]: If you didn't, it's okay.
• 5:16
[SPEAKER_00]: you can share he's one of the wisest kings that ever lived he's one of the wealthiest persons people that ever lived he got asked what what does he want you can have anything essentially is it's kind of the essence of it and Solomon asked for wisdom he didn't ask for riches he didn't ask for honor title or selfish gain he asked for wisdom and God gave him wisdom and then gave him what he didn't ask for too which is wealth and riches and so forth so I wrote over a thousand songs so you remember from the last episode
• 5:44
[SPEAKER_00]: and did a lot of things, so little introduction of who this is, also the line of David, which is the line through which was prophesied that Jesus would be born through that family.
• 5:57
[SPEAKER_00]: So one thing you can say to your children is that the wisest kings of the time came from all over the world to hear Solomon's wisdom.
• 6:08
[SPEAKER_00]: Who's wisdom really was it?
• 6:10
[SPEAKER_00]: It was God's wisdom, right?
• 6:12
[SPEAKER_00]: But God worked through Solomon because he was a willing vessel and God blessed him for that.
• 6:18
  [SPEAKER_00]: Okay?
• 6:19
[SPEAKER_00]: So verse two says to no wisdom and instruction to understand words of
• 6:25
  [SPEAKER_00]: Insight.
• 6:25
[SPEAKER_00]: So wisdom is, and I would share this with my family, you simple terms.
• 6:29
[SPEAKER_00]: You have to talk in basic terms.
• 6:31
  [SPEAKER_00]: That's what's great about it.
• 6:32
  [SPEAKER_00]: It's the best thinking.
• 6:33
[SPEAKER_00]: Wisdom is really the best thinking, the best strategy, the best ideas that are anchored in biblical truth.
• 6:40
[SPEAKER_00]: when I think of wisdom, it's those things.
• 6:43
[SPEAKER_00]: And so we want to be wise in this world that we're in, it takes wisdom to navigate the best paths and God freely gives it to us.
• 6:52
[SPEAKER_00]: You always want to desire wisdom, just like Solomon did.
• 6:55
[SPEAKER_00]: So what's the opposite of wisdom children?
• 6:59
[SPEAKER_00]: So I just introduced a way to ask a question, so you teach what a concept is, and then you can ask them with the opposite of that is.
• 7:06
[SPEAKER_00]: And they might struggle with that for a little bit, and then you go, well, foolishness.
• 7:11
  [SPEAKER_00]: Right?
• 7:12
[SPEAKER_00]: So you're going to hear the contrast between wisdom and foolishness as we go through Proverbs and it's really important to be wise.
• 7:21
[SPEAKER_00]: The ways of the world are foolish, right?
• 7:24
[SPEAKER_00]: And so instruction, that's the way to implement wisdom.
• 7:29
[SPEAKER_00]: so that word instruction right there.
• 7:31
[SPEAKER_00]: So you can have wisdom, but if you don't know how to implement it, then you might not implement it.
• 7:37
[SPEAKER_00]: So having confidence in how to implement the wisdom you're given is really important too.
• 7:43
  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's instruction.
• 7:44
[SPEAKER_00]: Wisdom and instruction to understand words of insight.
• 7:48
[SPEAKER_00]: In verse three, to receive in wise dealing.
• 7:54
  [SPEAKER_00]: Wow, that's so important.
• 7:58
[SPEAKER_00]: handle people and dealings wisely, even more important than ever.
• 8:04
[SPEAKER_00]: One of my anchoring in right there, how to operate and unprecedented times without even saying all that.
• 8:10
  [SPEAKER_00]: So it's more important.
• 8:11
[SPEAKER_00]: So you've got to understand how to have wise dealing.
• 8:14
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what we're going to learn through as we get through Proverbs in righteousness, justice and equity.
• 8:19
[SPEAKER_00]: So wise dealing is being careful, being strong in your dealings.
• 8:23
[SPEAKER_00]: And you can ask that really powerful question just again.
• 8:26
[SPEAKER_00]: Why is it important to deal wisely today?
• 8:29
[SPEAKER_00]: So that is a good question to discuss as you just read that.
• 8:34
[SPEAKER_00]: And then righteousness is pursuing God's ways, justice where to expose evil actually.
• 8:40
[SPEAKER_00]: So justice is protecting and making sure the right things are happening.
• 8:44
[SPEAKER_00]: There's another scripture that says expose evil.
• 8:46
[SPEAKER_00]: As Christians, we're supposed to do that.
• 8:47
[SPEAKER_00]: So I think the next generation needs to be raised in a way, they understand they have a duty, they actually expose evil, not to be passive and just let bad things happen in the world and so forth.
• 8:57
[SPEAKER_00]: We're supposed to be activated and you're raising your children to be that way when you teach them Proverbs and when you ask that question, it's really incredible.
• 9:05
  [SPEAKER_00]: I hope you're excited about this.
• 9:07
  [SPEAKER_00]: This is so fun.
• 9:08
[SPEAKER_00]: In equity, equity is fairness.
• 9:10
  [SPEAKER_00]: Good question, ask!
• 9:11
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is so good.
• 9:12
[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to get intel from your wife about what's happening in the family and then as you're going through Scripture This happens every single time for me.
• 9:19
[SPEAKER_00]: There's something in the Scripture as I go through it That has to do with exactly what our family needs to hear and and since I have that intel and I'm thinking about when my family needs like for example equity
• 9:32
[SPEAKER_00]: You can ask your your toddlers or your middle schoolers or even your teenagers and you say, hey, are you dealing fairly with your brothers and sisters?
• 9:40
[SPEAKER_00]: Are you operating right there?
• 9:42
[SPEAKER_00]: This home right here is practice for life.
• 9:46
[SPEAKER_00]: Are you operating in a way of fairness amongst each other?
• 9:50
[SPEAKER_00]: that is how you practice, that is what, and if you're not, I want you to be honest with yourself about that, and really pray about that in your quiet time, and ask God to help you to deal and fairness with your siblings.
• 10:02
[SPEAKER_00]: Look, this is any sharing issues, and he like, oh, I don't want you to come with me, because I'm old and cool.
• 10:08
[SPEAKER_00]: You can knock all that stuff out by teaching scripture.
• 10:12
[SPEAKER_00]: You see the power of this?
• 10:13
[SPEAKER_00]: This is so good by asking questions.
• 10:15
[SPEAKER_00]: So, reading it and I'm asking questions as I go through it.
• 10:19
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, verse 4, to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth.
• 10:25
[SPEAKER_00]: So cool that it says youth right there, hesitationless to your children.
• 10:29
[SPEAKER_00]: So prudence is positive cleverness.
• 10:33
  [SPEAKER_00]: Remember that.
• 10:34
  [SPEAKER_00]: It's like positive cleverness.
• 10:35
[SPEAKER_00]: So you have these words to you to get prudence to the simple.
• 10:39
  [SPEAKER_00]: What a simple.
• 10:39
[SPEAKER_00]: The naive, the lacking, the person that's lacking in cleverness, operating a positive cleverness of understanding wisdom to understand how to handle situations, how to handle conversations, how to handle peer pressure, how to handle all these things, give prudence to the simple, give positive cleverness to the naive that are lacking wisdom.
• 11:00
[SPEAKER_00]: Who is in front of your table?
• 11:02
[SPEAKER_00]: Probably simple because you're training them, people, young people of gods, that you're bringing prudence to.
• 11:10
[SPEAKER_00]: That's why it's important to attach scripture to the waywardness of the world today.
• 11:15
[SPEAKER_00]: So they understand how to navigate the world.
• 11:17
  [SPEAKER_00]: You're literally equipping them.
• 11:19
[SPEAKER_00]: This is the most important thing you could be teaching a more important sports and anything else at least do this.
• 11:26
[SPEAKER_00]: Sacrifice something else that is good to do.
• 11:29
[SPEAKER_00]: This is very best thing if you have to.
• 11:31
  [SPEAKER_00]: This is so important.
• 11:32
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, the first five, let the wise here in increase in learning.
• 11:39
[SPEAKER_00]: We always want to be increasing and learning, but we want to be learning what is profitable, what is good, and what is wholesome, and is biblically true and accurate, or at least doesn't go against biblical truth.
• 11:53
[SPEAKER_00]: So you're anchoring in key things, God is through Proverbs, and you're talking to it to your children.
• 11:59
[SPEAKER_00]: So they're prepared for these situations to come in the future.
• 12:02
[SPEAKER_00]: We want to increase the learning and the right things.
• 12:04
[SPEAKER_00]: And the one who understands obtain guidance.
• 12:08
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so you actually get guidance when you're understanding what you're learning.
• 12:12
[SPEAKER_00]: If you're not understanding what you're learning, it doesn't matter and you don't have any guidance.
• 12:16
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you could think of an example of that.
• 12:18
[SPEAKER_00]: That would be a great opportunity for example if you can or if you have time.
• 12:22
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think of one right now.
• 12:23
[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't matter, do it, don't do it.
• 12:26
  [SPEAKER_00]: But just keep going.
• 12:27
[SPEAKER_00]: To understand a proverb and a saying, the words of the wise and their riddles.
• 12:32
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the word riddles right here, because you could really play that.
• 12:36
[SPEAKER_00]: Like you're getting the very best wisdom that has ever existed.
• 12:42
[SPEAKER_00]: To deal with people, to have strategy, to make plans, to navigate unprecedented times.
• 12:50
[SPEAKER_00]: This is so incredible, and to the foolish, they're riddles, but because you're not foolish, because you're humble, you're wanting to learn.
• 13:00
[SPEAKER_00]: You believe in God, you're going to understand these things.
• 13:03
[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to understand these things, and then you're going to do these things.
• 13:07
[SPEAKER_00]: So you're not just in your head head knowledge, you're actually going to do them.
• 13:11
  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's pretty cool.
• 13:12
[SPEAKER_00]: To understand a problem of saying the words of the wise and the riddles, I'm finally verse seven.
• 13:17
[SPEAKER_00]: This is the, maybe one of the most important lines of Proverbs.
• 13:22
[SPEAKER_00]: It sets everything else up that's going to be next as we go through Proverbs.
• 13:26
[SPEAKER_00]: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.
• 13:29
[SPEAKER_00]: If you can anchor that in your kids head over and over again over the years, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.
• 13:37
[SPEAKER_00]: What is the world tell them?
• 13:39
[SPEAKER_00]: Ignoring God is the beginning of knowledge.
• 13:42
[SPEAKER_00]: What is college teach them?
• 13:44
[SPEAKER_00]: Ignoring God is the beginning of knowledge.
• 13:47
[SPEAKER_00]: Now we can teach you all the things that are most important.
• 13:50
[SPEAKER_00]: And what God is saying and what's actually true, no, no, no, no, the fear of God is the beginning of knowledge.
• 13:55
[SPEAKER_00]: And if you don't have the fear of God,
• 14:00
  [SPEAKER_00]: Nothing else really matters.
• 14:02
[SPEAKER_00]: Everything else is in vain, and you can really anchor that in with them, but with good question, they're not going to understand it's confusing, the fear of the Lord.
• 14:11
  [SPEAKER_00]: What does that mean?
• 14:12
[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to have to explain that over and over and over again, because it's in the Bible quite a bit.
• 14:16
[SPEAKER_00]: So, it's important to understand the difference between that fear and the other kind of fear.
• 14:20
[SPEAKER_00]: So, fools, despite wisdom and destruction, so what is fear of the Lord?
• 14:23
[SPEAKER_00]: You can ask your family that.
• 14:25
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a great opportunity for your wife to pipe up potentially if she wants to.
• 14:28
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's a wonderful thing when she does and is involved and included, that's what you want.
• 14:34
[SPEAKER_00]: So, what is the fear of the Lord?
• 14:36
[SPEAKER_00]: And if no one answers it after silence, the last silence to exist.
• 14:39
[SPEAKER_00]: It's working on their brains, remember, from last week.
• 14:42
[SPEAKER_00]: But the silence is powerful, and if nobody answers it or they struggle, you're close, and you kind of talk about fear, the Lord is a respect for His authority.
• 14:51
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a reverence for who God is, all powerful, your Creator.
• 14:55
[SPEAKER_00]: It is an admiration of your God in wanting to have an heart posture towards Him, of wanting to obey Him because you love Him.
• 15:04
[SPEAKER_00]: Not because you have to, not because it's a checklist, because you love him, just because that's why you obey your parents, because you love us, right?
• 15:13
[SPEAKER_00]: You want to obey us.
• 15:14
[SPEAKER_00]: And God wants our obedience.
• 15:17
[SPEAKER_00]: But he wants it from the right heart, and the fear of the Lord is going to enable us to have the right heart position to actually gain the right knowledge.
• 15:26
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's not just riddles for us, that we understand it, and we understand God's intentions and how to operate in this world in a righteous way that glorifies our God.
• 15:35
[SPEAKER_00]: Right, so that's why that's so important.
• 15:37
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a good discussion for your family right at the end of the session and why do fools despise wisdom?
• 15:44
  [SPEAKER_00]: Is another good question?
• 15:45
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, this is a great place to talk about peer pressure.
• 15:49
  [SPEAKER_00]: Fool's despise wisdom.
• 15:51
[SPEAKER_00]: How does that show up today amongst young people?
• 15:53
  [SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's self-preserving.
• 15:56
[SPEAKER_00]: If somebody is walking a righteous path,
• 15:59
[SPEAKER_00]: a fool tries to tear it down to make themselves feel powerful and feel good about their own wrong decision making their own false wisdom that they think is so awesome.
• 16:10
[SPEAKER_00]: So they will potentially mock you, a great part of equipping children.
• 16:15
[SPEAKER_00]: is preparing them for what's ahead way before the experience that you've got to be teaching it.
• 16:20
[SPEAKER_00]: And so talking about how people will mock you someday, the mock you for your godly decisions, the mock you for your godly standards, the mock you for your godly opinions, the mock you for going against the world, and they'll call you crazy, they'll call you weird names and things like that.
• 16:37
[SPEAKER_00]: And you have to know that if it's biblical, it's right.
• 16:40
[SPEAKER_00]: And if it's not, it's not right.
• 16:43
[SPEAKER_00]: And so, this is going to help them massively appear pressure.
• 16:46
[SPEAKER_00]: You can even introduce the concept of peer pressure at up time.
• 16:49
[SPEAKER_00]: And you can encourage them never to fall for it because you have the fear of the Lord.
• 16:53
[SPEAKER_00]: And when you have the fear of the Lord, you never need to fall to it and you can write, you can walk or write just path.
• 16:58
[SPEAKER_00]: and you can encourage other people.
• 17:00
[SPEAKER_00]: You want to bring people up with you versus cave and fall towards their waverness.
• 17:05
[SPEAKER_00]: And so those are some ideas as you go through this for a section.
• 17:08
  [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot there.
• 17:09
[SPEAKER_00]: You could pick just a couple things.
• 17:10
[SPEAKER_00]: You could read it and just ask one question.
• 17:13
[SPEAKER_00]: You might not have time, right?
• 17:15
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't do all of this every single time, but there are some really good ideas.
• 17:20
[SPEAKER_00]: And I would encourage you also to tell them at the beginning of this, come to me children when you have a difficult situation.
• 17:28
[SPEAKER_00]: When there's a conversation, you don't know how to navigate or maybe you you tripped up or maybe you didn't say something and it like justice between other people You can come to me and talk about the situation and I would love that.
• 17:41
[SPEAKER_00]: I love talking through those situational
• 17:43
[SPEAKER_00]: Things and I can coach you on how maybe to do that next time or how to handle those situations So you can talk to me on anything and everything.
• 17:51
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll always hear free your mom is to and we want to know and we can give you wisdom and walk you through That's one of our jobs and we're always available for that.

• 18:21
[SPEAKER_00]: With Kendrick Brothers, the movies like facing the giants.
• 18:32
[SPEAKER_00]: biblically based, wonderful movies, and we had just such a compelling conversation.
• 18:38
[SPEAKER_00]: I want all of the men to hear that conversation, so courageous parenting is for both moms and dads.
• 18:45
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to give you the raw real truth.
• 18:46
  [SPEAKER_00]: That's episode's coming out soon.
• 18:48

• 18:57
[SPEAKER_00]: That's where you get it
• 19:02
[SPEAKER_00]: 31, short chapters with practical discussion questions and scriptures and so forth to really stimulate your marriage, get your marriage and alignment in the areas that most Christians at least in some of the areas in this book are missing and to really equip confident Christian children and I'm pressing in times.
• 19:20
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want you to miss that.
• 19:21
[SPEAKER_00]: You need to be doing those 31 things.
• 19:23
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think when you read it, you're going to see some weak spots in your family rhythms and your family system and your parenting event.
• 19:31
  [SPEAKER_00]: It's motivating for me.
• 19:32
[SPEAKER_00]: We never teach anything we don't do.
• 19:34
[SPEAKER_00]: So we have done everything in this book, but it doesn't mean we're always doing it.
• 19:38
[SPEAKER_00]: They're always good to remind us to for intentional parents, even the most intentional parents.
• 19:42
  [SPEAKER_00]: So go get that.
• 19:44
[SPEAKER_00]: So, in episode four, I encourage you to go back to it.
• 19:47
  [SPEAKER_00]: I simplify spiritual leadership.
• 19:49
[SPEAKER_00]: So, pick that episode up too on the Result Man Podcast.
• 19:52
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to give you just a few tips right now from that episode.
• 19:55
  [SPEAKER_00]: Spiritual leadership isn't complicated.
• 19:57
[SPEAKER_00]: You have to understand where your weak points are.
• 20:01
[SPEAKER_00]: Where is the enemy trying to trick you not to spiritually lead in your marriage?
• 20:06
[SPEAKER_00]: Or spiritually in your home?
• 20:08
[SPEAKER_00]: identify those, so you can pray for those, identify those, so you can ask your wife to pray for those, and she also knows that you're observant and acknowledge those weaknesses, then she will encourage instead of being discouraging potentially.
• 20:21
  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's really important.
• 20:23
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, make a commitment to making improvement in those areas and don't let those areas to real you.
• 20:28
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, many men feel like frauds actually, or inadequate when they hear spiritual leadership, and especially if their
• 20:37
[SPEAKER_00]: So we're more disciplined or even more knowledgeable of the Bible and these kinds of things.
• 20:41
[SPEAKER_00]: So the strong wife is a blessing.
• 20:44
[SPEAKER_00]: You need to look at it that way, but you also need to grow.
• 20:48
[SPEAKER_00]: And so we have to constantly be growing and overcome that.
• 20:51
[SPEAKER_00]: We need to step up only because God has called us to do that and you can do it.
• 20:54
[SPEAKER_00]: And the enemy is going to try and trip up your family long-term and trip up your legacy by tripping you up.
• 20:59
[SPEAKER_00]: by making you believe negative things about yourself, making you dwell in inadequacies versus taking action in the right directions.
• 21:07
[SPEAKER_00]: The next thing is I'm going to give you two of the five simple practices of spiritual leadership from episode four.
• 21:12
[SPEAKER_00]: One is pray with your wife, start doing that, your marriage will take off, she will start looking you with some fresh eyes, I promise you, if you do this consistently and she will understand the things on your heart and you will better understand the things on her heart.
• 21:28
[SPEAKER_00]: and you're bringing God into it which aligns your marriage and strengthens your marriage.
• 21:31
  [SPEAKER_00]: So do that.
• 21:32
[SPEAKER_00]: Be available for spiritual questions from your children.
• 21:36
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't assume they're just going to ask you, you over and over and you have to say you can ask me anything.
• 21:41
  [SPEAKER_00]: There's no bad questions.
• 21:42
[SPEAKER_00]: Even any doubts you have or anything like that.
• 21:45
[SPEAKER_00]: I am here for you.
• 21:46
[SPEAKER_00]: You don't want to raise little Pharisees.
• 21:48
[SPEAKER_00]: Little religious people that just believe because that's how to get
• 21:56
[SPEAKER_00]: Real faith happens from working through and having questions and discussing things and they need to be doing that with the You see need to open up receptiveness and the final challenge I have for you is you're the spiritual of leader of your home Whether or not you've stepped into it
• 22:11
[SPEAKER_00]: So the call is to reject passivity, talk to your wife about it, and simply start praying, reading, discussing, and staying available to your children.
