A tragic accident in West Coast Berbice claims the life of 30-year-old Steve McAlmont, struck by a motor lorry while holding an umbrella near No. 5 Village. The driver, a 27-year-old from Glasgow Village, is in custody. Found 40 feet from impact, Steve suffered fatal injuries including broken feet and severe back abrasions — he died at Bath Regional Hospital. A former Guyana Defence Force member and construction worker, he lived with his father. Authorities continue investigating as the driver cooperates.
