- 0:00No, I haven't discovered a problem.
- 0:01I fixed the problem. We are now recording but I there
- 0:04is a problem from last week. What's that?
- 0:08Matt, you need to retract something that you wrote.
- 0:11Oh. What did I write?
- 0:13You claimed Doctor Watson was not a real doctor.
- 0:17Oh oh. Rude.
- 0:21That's disgusting. Did we get complaints?
- 0:24Not a medicine complaint. She's got a PhD, yes.
- 0:28She still owed that title. OK mate, if I got PhD I'd be
- 0:33fucking sorry. That's Doctor Miller.
- 0:35Excuse you. Can we, I mean, can we also, I,
- 0:38I mean, I wasn't just besmirching her.
- 0:42I it was actually a a compliment in which I included that
- 0:46statement I believe. No, like somebody might get gig
- 0:49of the week, but that doesn't mean they're a real doctor.
- 0:54Hang on, let me pull up my notes.
- 0:55What did I say you said? Oh, I say, you say.
- 0:58A heartfelt farewell to Doctor Watson.
- 1:00She may not have been a real doctor, but she was a real
- 1:02cutie. OK.
- 1:04I mean, that's a pretty nice message.
- 1:05Luke this. Message.
- 1:06I mean, now that I'm looking at it again, that is a little
- 1:07condescending, so. I mean it would be condescending
- 1:11if it was 1 human talking about another human.
- 1:13Sure, Doctor Watson is amazing. She is a doctor.
- 1:19OK, all right. I apologise.
- 1:23I will because we did get complaints.
- 1:25Oh, there you go some. More patience.
- 1:28Listeners. Yeah.
- 1:30Yeah. Welcome to Multiple Nerdgasm
- 1:37with your hosts Matt, Luke and Dan Multiple Nerdgasm, your
- 1:44guide to all things nerdy. No, we've just, we've discussed
- 1:54this. She's a philosophical doctorate.
- 1:56So she's people that have read her book, have written in and
- 2:00said I've read her thesis. She used to look after me after
- 2:04surgery and stuff. Yeah.
- 2:08And did you say purring is good for bone healing?
- 2:12Who says that? Doctors.
- 2:16Doctors 1 cat. I see.
- 2:27Oh, very good. All right.
- 2:28Well, yes, I apologize. Didn't mean no.
- 2:31It was a very hot. It was a lovely message as well.
- 2:33But yeah, she's a doctor. I've got I've got a lot of
- 2:36information calling her a doctor here all.
- 2:38Right. In fact, I seem to recall Luke
- 2:42telling a nurse, stay in your place because this is you're
- 2:45addressing a doctor. Well, the problem was she was a
- 2:52nurse and she thought because I have Doctor Watson, it must be a
- 2:56boy. I see.
- 2:59Right. So it wasn't saying that can't
- 3:01be a doctor just because women can't be doctors.
- 3:04Just because you're the aiming higher doesn't mean Doctor
- 3:08Watson has aimed higher. Right.
- 3:10When I was a kid, I used to think that if you were a good
- 3:12enough nurse, eventually you'd become a doctor of Since that's
- 3:14not the case. Yeah, no, there there is
- 3:17something, I don't know if it's in Australia, but in America
- 3:19there is a sort of a pathway to it where you can be not a fool
- 3:24doctor, but sort of like a bit more qualified.
- 3:26Transitioning no from a nurse into a doctor, I mean.
- 3:31Yeah, Yeah, I do. I mean, I, I watch scrubs.
- 3:33That's where I get all of my medical information from.
- 3:36And I know that Carla worked harder than any of the doctors.
- 3:38Yeah, so. That's where Carla, she got the
- 3:41paperwork so she could do that transition.
- 3:44Seemed to be a bit bit more than a nurse, not quite a doctor, but
- 3:48yeah. And we're getting scrubs.
- 3:50More scrubs soon. We are.
- 3:53We're getting more scrubs. Are any of them in it the?
- 3:56Yes. Yes, Zach Braff signed up, and I
- 3:59think that's the only one they'd have trouble with.
- 4:01So I assume the rest of them are like please let me be back in
- 4:03the show. They would have had trouble with
- 4:06Zach Braff maybe 10 years ago, but what's he doing now exactly?
- 4:11Not even dating an A Lister is. He dating now.
- 4:16No, I don't know. He was dating Hillary.
- 4:19Florence Pew. Florence Pew.
- 4:20Hillary Florence Pew. Hillary.
- 4:22Hillary H Florence Pew I used to know a girl called Hilary Pew.
- 4:32And that's I always got to say that.
- 4:33Hillary Pew, if you're listening, if you're a costume
- 4:36designer living in Los Angeles, shout out to you, Hillary.
- 4:40If you're listening, all my respect, Freda nipple this one,
- 4:45yeah. One nipple.
- 4:48One nipple. Do it well.
- 4:49My thing is we either free it for everyone or everyone has to
- 4:53cover them up. Yeah, I prefer everyone covering
- 4:56them up, to be honest. I was going to say, what did she
- 4:58do? I've missed something other than
- 5:01getting them out in Oppenheimer. What did she do?
- 5:02No, no, she's very much. She wants to get them out on
- 5:05Instagram. Matt she, she.
- 5:07Wants. To Yeah, she's very much alike.
- 5:10Like if a guy can grab the top off, why can't?
- 5:14And on Instagram, a guy can question.
- 5:16What those tight. It's true.
- 5:17Yeah, well, I've heard women say the same thing about jogging and
- 5:22and like, for starters, I think that's a bad example because I
- 5:25can see certain logistical problems with why a woman
- 5:29wouldn't want to jog topless. But also I'm against that
- 5:32because I fucking hate it when I see men jogging topless because
- 5:37you only jog topless once you have a. 5.
- 5:40The body Z and it's like fuck you, you show off.
- 5:43Don't. Don't fucking rub that shit in
- 5:45my face. Yeah.
- 5:47Yeah, that's why I. Think we're talking to Florence,
- 5:49everyone? Or are we talking to the?
- 5:50Yeah, yeah. Don't rub those in my face.
- 5:54Oh, all right, fine. Twisted my arm.
- 6:00I'm interested for the after party because there's Bonnie
- 6:04Blue information in heat that I'm not aware of.
- 6:07Yes, so. You.
- 6:09Teeter maybe, and this is actually this is a direct follow
- 6:12up to the news that you brought to the table last week.
- 6:15So stick around to the after party to find out why Bonnie
- 6:18Blue is in hot water. patreon.com/youwish man, you
- 6:24fucking wish. Forward slash, multiple orgasm
- 6:30and join up. Get the other half of the show
- 6:34and you can find that out as well as some other things.
- 6:40But here's some personal news. And this is neither here nor
- 6:43there, but my wife, right, is in England right now, right?
- 6:48Just rang me. Rang me to tell me that she's
- 6:52just saw the king. Oh.
- 6:55Yeah, the King. Just.
- 6:57His Majesty the King. Well.
- 6:59Interacted with the King Al. King Yeah.
- 7:01So His Majesty the King, Charles the Third, she was just on
- 7:06London Bridge, right, Right. And and she was like, how how
- 7:12long does it take to to walk to Buckingham Palace from here?
- 7:14I said, oh, like it's not a short walk, but you can get
- 7:17there like you get down there, you.
- 7:18Can I think this gentleman was like, I'll give you a lift?
- 7:22I'm going that way, you know, And she's like, Oh yeah, I'll go
- 7:26down there. Maybe I'll see one of those
- 7:28guards with the big hat. Someone said, well, you will
- 7:30definitely see that because they always there.
- 7:34And so she was like, I'll call you if I see one of the guards.
- 7:37So she rang me and I was like, OK, let's hear about this guard.
- 7:40She's like, I can see the fucking king.
- 7:43I can see him. He's coming out and getting into
- 7:45his car with everyone with, with the Queen, with the children,
- 7:50with everyone, right? Now I'm going to guess not all
- 7:53the children. No, not all the children.
- 7:55Not all the children. All the children in England,
- 7:58obviously. Unfortunately Facebook forced me
- 8:00without my knowledge to watch one of them do a dance yesterday
- 8:03and I was like oh I don't want to see this without.
- 8:05Your knowledge, you just you just suddenly had the memory of
- 8:10it. Didn't know it was the wife of a
- 8:12Prince until. Who am I watching do this
- 8:15ridiculous dance? The one thing I sort of felt
- 8:17funny because what is it, Harry, that they're sort of disowned
- 8:20and he's also disowned them. Yeah, you can't disown me.
- 8:24I disown you. But at the Queen's funeral, he
- 8:29was the only one not allowed to wear military garb, even though
- 8:32he was the only one who. Acted actually served, Yeah, but
- 8:36he had to give up all his titles, I believe.
- 8:38Right? I guess that's.
- 8:40Part that's not a, but I don't know, that's not a little bit
- 8:43different because that's not him.
- 8:44Well, most of them are honorary titles.
- 8:46Yeah, but he served. Yeah, he.
- 8:48Was talking about this and I do and I'm British.
- 8:50What the fuck? We're the Commonwealth, Matt.
- 8:54You're an American, Yes. OK, You threw the tea in the
- 8:57fucking ocean. And you?
- 8:58Yeah, I. Don't know what else?
- 9:00Yeah. I'm an Ivy American.
- 9:03There's a famous clip of Harry when they're interviewing him
- 9:07when he's over in Iraq and there's yellow alarms going off
- 9:10and he's dumb shit got to go. And he, because he was a pilot
- 9:13and so right, took old stuff off and ran to go and.
- 9:17Pop in the jet. Do shit.
- 9:18No helicopter pilot. Pop in a helicopter.
- 9:22It is less impressive than a Jet, but it's still pretty
- 9:24impressive. I don't know, I think a
- 9:26helicopter. 'S more dangerous than a jet in
- 9:29that. You get more in in the muck.
- 9:32I guess, wait, there's no, there's no windows, right?
- 9:35So I mean you want to strap in. But.
- 9:38Yeah. I mean, a fighter jet, you're
- 9:41just kind of like over the battlefield, yes, what do I get?
- 9:45And the other planes and missiles are there.
- 9:47But if you're a helicopter, you've got to get in there and
- 9:49drop people off and do all sorts of stuff.
- 9:51That's intense. Yeah, yeah.
- 9:53You're just thinking of mash, aren't you?
- 9:55That's what you're. Thinking of mash and.
- 9:59I'm thinking of jungle. Down, Blackhawk.
- 10:01Down. Yeah, yeah, Blackhawk.
- 10:02Down I'm thinking of the old Mega Drive game, Jungle Strike,
- 10:05Desert Strike, and oh. Yeah, those were good.
- 10:08And in fact, now that you've said that, I'm thinking of the
- 10:10old Amelia game, Silkworm. Silkworm was amazing.
- 10:15Not historically accurate though.
- 10:18No, you know, silkworm's in it, not the one.
- 10:23Well, they might be in the trees, but you can't see them.
- 10:25True, true. Are you suggesting it was
- 10:28Southeast Asia? Probably.
- 10:29Was I'm just saying another thing of it?
- 10:31I'm just making a stupid joke to be honest.
- 10:33I didn't mean it quiet. Actually, now that I think about
- 10:37it, I don't know where Silkworm was meant to be set.
- 10:40No, but it had. Spaceship thought it all.
- 10:42Right. Am I misremembering?
- 10:45Yeah, no, no, no. It had like, yeah, futuristic
- 10:47helicopters. I wouldn't call them spaceship.
- 10:50But is it a bit like Top Gun just.
- 10:51Generic yes. Generic enemy?
- 10:54Yes. Yeah, I know.
- 10:55You're right. It was.
- 10:56They're not like us. Military.
- 10:58Yeah, they're just a bit different, but there was some
- 11:00cool like James Bondy shit, rockets firing out of the ground
- 11:03and stuff. I remember there was an amiga at
- 11:07school and silkworm was available.
- 11:11That was my exposure to it. We had an Apple two at our
- 11:14school. We had a few of those and one
- 11:17Amiga, yeah. Yeah, I did.
- 11:20Actually, there's some computers.
- 11:21Come in San Diego, later over here, Silkworm over there.
- 11:24Right. Yeah, yeah.
- 11:26Hey, don't not come in San Diego.
- 11:28It might. It might have had the graphical
- 11:29fidelity of Silkworm, but that was still a game I poured hours
- 11:32into as a kid. Great.
- 11:34Game. I learned nothing from it.
- 11:37I did, I forgot it instantly because it was contextual.
- 11:39It's like, yes, once I found her, didn't need to know.
- 11:41She was, yeah. Didn't need to know her.
- 11:43So I didn't know because I pirated the game, right?
- 11:49When you bought the game, it came with like a little little
- 11:54booklet. Was it all the answers to the
- 11:55questions thick? Sure, but what I'm saying is I
- 11:58had to go to literal encyclopedias and learn.
- 12:02I didn't know that came. Yeah, no, I just thought you had
- 12:04to know. Some of them did, some of them
- 12:06did right. It depends.
- 12:08The earlier ones, well, even like if you look at some very
- 12:12early games, they came with thick books because it was you
- 12:16go north now, go to this page and read what you see.
- 12:19Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:22Roll a literal dice and then tell the computer what you got.
- 12:27I'm playing Gateway to the Savage Frontier on my Commodore
- 12:2964 where you walked around and then it said read page 5 and
- 12:34then yeah, literally like you're describing.
- 12:36Yep. Yeah, the the yeah, all the text
- 12:39for the game was in a book because Yep, you know, yeah
- 12:41memory, but you'll still. Yeah, that's right.
- 12:43Don't use like the computer game. 64 K of memory.
- 12:49With words. Yeah.
- 12:53Speaking of games, I. Oh, I've got to put a game in
- 12:57here. I stumbled onto a YouTube video
- 13:00at one point earlier this week of a guy playing a game that
- 13:03you've probably all heard of and possibly all played and own from
- 13:0815 odd years ago. The Project Zomboid.
- 13:12Remember that game? I did.
- 13:14I brought that game. Do remember that.
- 13:16Beta and never actually even got to the played the full version,
- 13:21but I do own it. I watched this video of someone
- 13:24playing it and I was like, that's quite compelling.
- 13:28So I and I own it. I own it for like honestly, I
- 13:34maybe 15 years ago, right? I'm not exaggerating.
- 13:36I don't think it's ages and ages.
- 13:38When I was in Australia, I had it so.
- 13:40Well, yeah, that's at least 10 years ago.
- 13:43And so anyway I. Had a fourth member of the
- 13:46podcast where we yeah. Had that, I would say so yeah.
- 13:52So anyway, I, I installed it and I've gotten a little bit
- 13:56addicted to it. It's very like, it's fucking
- 14:01hard, but I've gotten quite good at it now.
- 14:04It's like, like it's rewarding in that sense.
- 14:06So basically the premise is you, you can choose certain
- 14:09parameters for the game. The, the, I think the default
- 14:12one is, is Armageddon. And basically you are a survivor
- 14:15in a zombie apocalypse. And when the game starts, you'll
- 14:17be in a house and you are for the most part immediately safe.
- 14:23But that will change rapidly as the zombies figure out that
- 14:26you're in there. And you basically have to
- 14:28survive. And you need food and you need
- 14:31water. And at some point within the 1st
- 14:3430 days the pack, the electricity in the water gets
- 14:36shut off. So you need to prepare for that.
- 14:40You will need to leave the house you're in at some point because
- 14:43you need more food and water and supplies and stuff like that.
- 14:48And then also basically it's just like a simulation in a, in
- 14:52a kind of a fun goofy way, but there's like vehicles and you
- 14:55can like. Hot wire?
- 14:56That sounds like this war of mine, except I've actually
- 15:00zombies. Instead of the point, because
- 15:02it's been around so long, it's got mechanics for like
- 15:06everything. Like you can hot wire a car, you
- 15:08can become a mechanic and fix cars and siphon gas out of cars
- 15:12and like. I've actually seen some YouTube
- 15:15channels where they'll go like we're going to get 100 projects
- 15:18Envoy players in and just watch how they react and watch them
- 15:22form cliques and groups and go out writing together.
- 15:26And then it's cool, man. It's actually quite interesting
- 15:29how. And there's no saving if your
- 15:33character dies, you have to start again.
- 15:35And so my character right now that I've been playing, I've,
- 15:38I've, I've gone through about 10 characters and they've all
- 15:40lasted maybe. So first be last like 5 minutes.
- 15:42Because once you learn in particular the mechanics of
- 15:45combat are important. You do not want to try to to
- 15:50fight more than one or two zombies at a time, Ideally one
- 15:54because even if you get bitten. Ideally less than one.
- 15:57You're fucked. So you need to keep pushing them
- 16:01away and then whacking them with something and then because if
- 16:03you use a gun, more come because they hear it.
- 16:06So yeah. Yeah, a gun you want to save for
- 16:09if you're playing on a multiplay server and there are other
- 16:11humans. Correct.
- 16:13Yeah. Or if you can like distract
- 16:14them, because you can set a car alarm off or a house alarm and
- 16:17then they'll all go to that. It's it's just very like, it's
- 16:19very elaborate. And there's like you can read
- 16:22books on cooking and you can cook food for yourself and like,
- 16:28and you can forage in the forest if that's, if that's what you
- 16:31want to do. There's a mall, there's a giant
- 16:33fucking mall. You can go do like Dawn of the
- 16:36day. You can't have zombies without a
- 16:37mall, yeah. But there's like, the maps are
- 16:40huge and yeah, it's fun, I must admit that.
- 16:45Sounds We didn't pay nearly enough attention to this, by the
- 16:49sounds of it. I feel like when I first played
- 16:52it, tried it, and it is fucking hard.
- 16:53At first. It's really hard.
- 16:55There's a learning curve. But once you get over it, like
- 16:57I've found, like my guy that I've got right now has been
- 16:59alive for maybe a week and it's like, OK, like I'm like, you
- 17:03learn. At the time I got it, it was.
- 17:08It was like the full version. So it was still very early on.
- 17:12So a lot of these mechanics that are there are there now.
- 17:17And it was one of those games like, Yep, I can see this is
- 17:19going to be cool, but never went back for the release.
- 17:23And now it's, yeah, 15 years old.
- 17:26Yeah, well, and they're just still releasing updates for it.
- 17:30Yeah, because it's. Actually, it's really good.
- 17:33For it. It's really fun.
- 17:36It's like I said, just steep learning curve, but once you get
- 17:38the hang of it as I'm evidence of because my guy has not died
- 17:45the first time I got. A zombie.
- 17:47So yeah, and you learn things like, you know, like if you
- 17:52knock a zombie over and then you stand on it, it can't get up and
- 17:55bite you. And you can just hit it in the
- 17:56head repeatedly like. Yeah.
- 18:01Yeah, and you could say that's cheating, but that's that's what
- 18:02I would do in real. Life.
- 18:03Oh, absolutely. There's no cheating, which is
- 18:06you versus zombies. That's there's no cheating, it's
- 18:09survival, yeah. In.
- 18:10Real life, I've always said I want to be the one of the first
- 18:13ones wiped out. I don't want to go through these
- 18:16troubles. Yeah, thank you.
- 18:18I don't want to learn how to farm and.
- 18:21You get bored in it, your guy gets bored and it's like you've
- 18:23got to, you've got to give him something to do otherwise he
- 18:25will just fucking shoot himself in the head.
- 18:27He gets mad, he's getting bored. Developed like.
- 18:30Psychology if I don't have an. Export of mine too, if you if
- 18:34you let people get bored, they commit suicide.
- 18:36Yeah, I don't know about that. He get you get developed
- 18:38psychological issues and like you can get, yeah, you get all
- 18:43sorts of health issues. You've got like fucking bandage
- 18:46and disinfect your wounds if you get hurt.
- 18:48Yeah, anyway. Damn.
- 18:51OK. Check it out, it's cool.
- 18:52What are you? Playing it on.
- 18:53It's my Mac. Yeah, but from on Steam.
- 18:56Oh, yes, yeah, yeah. Sorry.
- 18:58Yeah, yeah, yeah. Interesting.
- 19:02I don't know how much it costs, I bought it a long time ago.
- 19:06I think when I purchased it back then it was like 7 dollars.
- 19:12I think that rings a bell. Let's find out.
- 19:15I I checked the price of something this week because I
- 19:18really want to play Assassin's Creed but I don't want to pay
- 19:22$110.00 for it, especially when every single other Assassin's
- 19:26Creed is on game pass so I know it's going to be on there
- 19:29eventually. Yes, yeah.
- 19:33And they're always like on sale. That's how I got what I see.
- 19:36$10.00 for the cheap version, it's 150 for the special
- 19:40edition. All right.
- 19:42Or you could if you just want to try 20 bucks.
- 19:45I did think about doing that. I did think about doing the
- 19:48Ubisoft. Yeah.
- 19:50Yeah. I.
- 19:50Always wish I could just do a yearly subscription to that now
- 19:54instead of the monthly one. Oh yeah.
- 19:57And I'd want to do that for Xbox.
- 19:58I just want to do all the subscriptions.
- 20:00Just let me do a year. Let me spread it out.
- 20:02Our projects are always. Fine, they remind you that
- 20:04they're coming up. Yes.
- 20:07It's 30 bucks did you say? 30 bucks now but I know I paid
- 20:10like $7.00 something. Yeah, same.
- 20:12I did pay a lot for it. I bought it when I think you
- 20:15bought it off their website and then they gave you later.
- 20:17They gave us Steam keys because it wasn't even on Steam.
- 20:22Which I don't think I actually own it in Steam, so I probably
- 20:26missed that e-mail. Yeah.
- 20:28Oh no, it's in my library. I did do it.
- 20:31Oh, there you go. Yeah, I mean, check out a video
- 20:35first because like I said, it's maybe it's just appealing to me
- 20:38for some particular. No, no, I mean, it's several
- 20:43boxes. Yeah, I'll definitely check this
- 20:44out. I did play something this week
- 20:46at both of your recommendations, sort of.
- 20:50I I didn't. No, I did.
- 20:52I went back into Minecraft. Oh yeah, Yesterday.
- 20:57Just popped it on, immediately killed.
- 21:01Fed up with it, turned it off right?
- 21:03You could call it a rage quit. Whatever, I'll go back in soon.
- 21:08Yes, I got it on my switch to. I can connect to our room on my
- 21:11switch to SO. So I wanted to play something
- 21:14else and I thought what else have I downloaded?
- 21:16And then I remember that you guys convinced me to buy Death
- 21:20Stranding. Oh yeah.
- 21:23So I played it. It's probably the most beautiful
- 21:30game I've ever seen. Yeah, it's great.
- 21:32But I've got one question. Yeah.
- 21:35What is it we did? What did I just see?
- 21:43It is the weirdest, the single weirdest experience.
- 21:46And the what makes it weird is that nobody's gone.
- 21:49All this is a bit weird. Everyone's acting like I'm the
- 21:52idiot from not understanding. Yeah, where'd you get up to?
- 21:57I I just played, I guess what you'd call the tutorials and
- 22:02when you meet the French girl with the spiky clothes and then
- 22:06something invisible climbs around.
- 22:08Oh. Did you go to the so you can get
- 22:11to the city of the dead body or? Anything.
- 22:13I. Have man, I was on my way to the
- 22:15city and then I was like, I need a break because I don't know
- 22:17what I just saw, so I'll keep going.
- 22:21I was going to say yeah. Beautiful, but fuck me.
- 22:24It's it gets serious. But would you explain we don't
- 22:28understand the game either? No, but it's compelling.
- 22:32That's the thing. It's got that thing where it's
- 22:34I, I don't know. I mean, I want to say like, I
- 22:37found it a lot with Japanese media.
- 22:39I don't know whether that's just because Western audiences, you
- 22:42know, we're not. We weren't.
- 22:43Yeah, Japanese people were like, yeah, Death Stranding, right?
- 22:47Yeah, it's pretty straightforward, easier to.
- 22:49Follow it. Yeah.
- 22:50It's like we're not. And there's also was that movie
- 22:54I watched. I've mentioned this before.
- 22:55I think it's a Chinese movie about Chinese vampires.
- 22:58That. Probably they just, you know,
- 23:01like when I watch we watch Dracula, it's like they don't
- 23:03have to explain which vampires or, or sinners actually, which
- 23:05I'll talk about again. They don't have to explain
- 23:07vampires really. We know what they are.
- 23:10But when I watch this Chinese vampire movie, I'm like, the
- 23:12fuck is going on? Are they jumping?
- 23:15Are they hopping? Hopping and then they have to
- 23:18the ghosts. You could capture a ghost if you
- 23:20put blood on a string and like they're all the, they're doing
- 23:23all this stuff and I'm just like, I mean, it's incredible.
- 23:26I love it. I don't understand what the fuck
- 23:28is happening. I love the Chinese paranormal
- 23:35stuff culture because it's mainstream culture.
- 23:38It's not some fringe thing, right?
- 23:40When somebody dies, you keep the body in your home for three
- 23:44days, right? You keep it on the dining room
- 23:47table, usually right where anyone can see it at any time.
- 23:50You sprinkle talcum powder on the floor so that you can see in
- 23:55the morning if their ghost is crept away during the night.
- 23:59That's awesome. Yeah.
- 24:01Is it like? August is the Hungry Ghost
- 24:04Festival where you've got to leave food outside your house or
- 24:07the ghosts will fucking come in to eat your food.
- 24:10But I want to know is it sort of like Christmas where someone
- 24:13gets something to be like to drink the milk and eat the
- 24:15carrot where someone puts footprints in?
- 24:16So yes, they no God. Because they're very
- 24:19superstitious. They don't want to see
- 24:20footprints. They definitely don't.
- 24:22If you did that, you would cause a lot of drama.
- 24:26Is it true this? I want to, I feel like I've
- 24:29asked somebody and this was true.
- 24:30Is that when when someone dies, you can go and buy paper
- 24:33representations of stuff to burn and then they have it in the
- 24:37afterlife. That's fucking awesome.
- 24:38That's so interesting. If you go to the market on the
- 24:42in Chinatown on the weekends, you'll see stalls that that just
- 24:46sell. And I remember a girl that I
- 24:49worked with in Singapore was legitimately complaining.
- 24:53Like, yeah, they burned my granddad an effigy of an iPhone,
- 24:57but did they burn a charger? No.
- 24:58So how's he going to charge it like?
- 25:01Yeah, it's funny. No.
- 25:04Money you burn, money for them to have.
- 25:06Buried the stuff with them. Yeah, right.
- 25:09Yeah, yeah. Actually, here's a little.
- 25:11Man, yeah, I reckon they probably used to do that
- 25:14historically too. And then at some point somebody
- 25:15said, could we keep the money and burn pretend money?
- 25:25Yeah, I think that keep going with death training.
- 25:28I mean, I will be honest, I haven't played it in a bit
- 25:30because I it did Peter off because once you actually get
- 25:33into the game proper, sure, there's less crazy shit
- 25:35happening. So OK, I I would like to go back
- 25:40to it. It's very imaginative and if the
- 25:42Japanese do something well, it's making real life seem really
- 25:47fantastical. And, and in this just am I on
- 25:52Earth? Am I in space?
- 25:54I've got no idea. You know I.
- 25:57Mean it is Earth, but OK, yes. Not as you know it, no.
- 26:00Definitely it. Is definitely earth.
- 26:02It's actually I was disappointed that fucking motorbike he was on
- 26:05went off the Cliff. Do I get that back at any point
- 26:08because I wanted to ride? That I think even late you do
- 26:11and I think even later in the in the game you get a car.
- 26:14But I they've never gotten that far.
- 26:17I've gotten to the bike. It's America.
- 26:20He's probably like, oh, it's not even in the future.
- 26:23That's what I legitimately think America is like.
- 26:29Well, over on games I have some exciting news.
- 26:32I am finally getting Final Fantasy 7.
- 26:36Yes. Oh, that's right, the showcase.
- 26:38Yeah. Yes, I didn't know that it's
- 26:40coming to Xbox. Coming to Xbox finally, Sony
- 26:43have stopped giving Square Enix money to keep it an exclusive.
- 26:47The Scott knows what reason. Yeah.
- 26:51So when can we expect it? They haven't announced the date
- 26:55of it yet, but I'm. I mean, the game is done so.
- 26:58The game's done because they they have released it tomorrow.
- 27:02They've not done. They must have been working on
- 27:04this preemptively, yeah. Oh yeah, sure, right.
- 27:07I don't know if it works like that, but maybe.
- 27:09They they could release it tomorrow and I honestly do
- 27:13believe that. But no, they haven't announced
- 27:15that. They announced some other cool
- 27:16stuff. I'm getting a new handheld.
- 27:20Oh, right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I saw that.
- 27:22Yeah. So they correct me if I'm wrong.
- 27:25So this is the Asus thing, right?
- 27:29It's an ROGLIX. Yeah, the Asus.
- 27:34And it runs the games on it right?
- 27:37Not cloud. Is that true?
- 27:39Yes. Interesting this is the first
- 27:41time Xbox games run on something that's not an Xbox technically,
- 27:45although they they did say. Oh they technically when I use
- 27:47my handheld they're running on my Xbox.
- 27:50It's that's right. That's what I mean.
- 27:52It's. Because I'm not playing cloud
- 27:54games from Xbox Cloud, I'm playing, right?
- 27:57It's it's. Not actually runs them on it.
- 28:00Natively. Yes, it's not quite clear.
- 28:02Yes. So it's not going to play all
- 28:04Xbox games, right. And so it's not quite clear.
- 28:09It's, yeah, it's going to run like a sort of a cutback version
- 28:12of Windows. It's going to focus on the Xbox
- 28:14side. So I think about any game that
- 28:17you can get on PC, I think that'll run fine.
- 28:20The Xbox maybe not. They're saying any plate anyway,
- 28:25game you'll be able to play, which means streaming.
- 28:27But I think it's going to be better than the PlayStation one
- 28:29which is streaming only. Did they say?
- 28:31They said all the games that we're in the showcase, we'll run
- 28:35in it, right? Which I guess so they're just
- 28:37going forward, they're going to make sure they all do,
- 28:39presumably. So I think anything, especially
- 28:42anything that goes on Game Pass, that'll definitely work, whether
- 28:44it's playing natively or streamed, I think it's up to.
- 28:49Yeah, interesting. Question.
- 28:52Do you know how much they are? Did they say?
- 28:54Because they're out soon, right? They come see people holiday,
- 28:58yeah, a lot of interns, media, yeah, yeah, they're coming out.
- 29:02It's coming out this year. They haven't announced price
- 29:04yet. People are saying about they're
- 29:06thinking about 700 US, which actually I think it's quite
- 29:11cheap. Because you don't need an Xbox,
- 29:14right? Just to be clear.
- 29:15You can own. Xbox yes, yes, well, you could
- 29:17own this without previously owning an Xbox.
- 29:19OK, so that's it has to be the price of a console.
- 29:21Well. Switched to was 500.
- 29:24That's the reason I'm like. Yeah.
- 29:26Is it better enough? This is a more of a computer
- 29:29than a console as well, because like my AI Neon X that was like
- 29:342 1/2, Yeah. So if I can get this.
- 29:38ROG thing that is a. 100 I'm I'm I'll be very happy yeah but yeah
- 29:43mine is a computer so. I mean, my absolute is
- 29:45essentially just a an Android tablet, Yeah, with the
- 29:48controller built around it. Yeah, same with my gcloud.
- 29:53Yeah, but. It has a front end that you can
- 29:56you can just just just run your emulator zone.
- 29:59Yeah, that mine, the one I have, it's an actual computer.
- 30:02I can run Windows 11 on it and yeah, it's great.
- 30:06And so I'm hoping it's sort of a bit like that.
- 30:08They're saying you'll be able to run like Steam games and
- 30:11everything. So I'm excited.
- 30:14Yeah, it's pretty cool. Yeah, I just hope they release
- 30:16it in Australia. Yes.
- 30:19They could not. Not from Xbox surely, Although
- 30:21it's not you. Still can't get a Steam Deck
- 30:24here unless you get sort of a grey import.
- 30:26Well, you can't, that's true. I mean, they're available.
- 30:29They're you can get one pretty easily now.
- 30:31Like you can even get one from Big W but it's a grey import.
- 30:36Yeah, and there's no infrastructure for repairs or?
- 30:40Yeah, right. It's something because I always
- 30:42worry about if something goes wrong, I've got nowhere to take
- 30:45it. That's right, it's a.
- 30:46Steam deck 400 bucks OK. I really did consider a Steam
- 30:52Deck at one point. That's 400 US.
- 30:55Like it's not 4. 100, yeah, but still, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 30:59They're pretty affordable. It's cheaper than a switch too,
- 31:02but yeah. I don't know what I have.
- 31:04What's more capable at the moment?
- 31:07Over 1000 Steam games. Yeah, they're all.
- 31:10Round though and you know what? I've stopped playing steam
- 31:13because I only have steam on my on my windows computer which is
- 31:19not optimized for games, so I almost.
- 31:21Don't even play. Your Windows computer is not
- 31:23designed to play any game. What you can do of it is stream
- 31:28games to it. That's it.
- 31:31Yeah, I've never even tried. I don't know.
- 31:32But anyway, I've stopped playing Steam.
- 31:35I've got, you know, however many Steam games I own just
- 31:39essentially unavailable to me at the moment.
- 31:41Here's a crazy thing. Maybe you could play through
- 31:43your backlog of Xbox games. Maybe.
- 31:47Yeah. Well, you know.
- 31:50This is advice I need to take. To be fair, I buy less.
- 31:56I probably buy less games than you for Xbox because they're
- 32:00almost always full price and I almost always just buy what I
- 32:04want to play. So there aren't many games in my
- 32:07Xbox library I haven't played. I must say, there's things I've
- 32:11downloaded from Game Pass and not played and then deleted,
- 32:13sure. But games that I've bought?
- 32:16Probably not many, probably not many at all.
- 32:19You know, Steam playing, definitely.
- 32:22Well, yeah, the summer sales or winter sales, I stopped looking
- 32:25at them long ago. The I don't think there's good
- 32:29things. They used to be ether.
- 32:31The sales. Yeah.
- 32:33And the discount sound is deep. True and but they used to be
- 32:36like I used to walk away with at least half a dozen games every
- 32:39time there was a sale, whereas now it's like maybe 1.
- 32:42Yeah, still haven't played any of them but.
- 32:46Maybe we have more realistic ideas of what we can achieve.
- 32:50Actually play. Yeah, maybe it's just that.
- 32:51Yeah, as opposed to, oh, I might play this or oh, I like this on
- 32:56another system I already paid for it on.
- 32:57I'll just go ahead here too, in case I'm sitting in this chair
- 33:00when I want to play. It one day I'm sure I could
- 33:01spend hours and hours and hours a week playing games.
- 33:04Now it's just like, no way mate. You know what I'm going to make
- 33:07time for though. Did you see the DLC for Indiana
- 33:10Jones? Yes, I am the only thing that I
- 33:14was bummed about, so I'm very excited about it.
- 33:16Love that game. Anything I was bummed I was like
- 33:18please tell me, is this a new map or is it just set in the
- 33:23Rome map? The value.
- 33:25Map. On the ground, I hope there's
- 33:27actually a whole new area. That's what I.
- 33:29Want. Yeah.
- 33:29OK, I hope you're right too. I assumed there was, but you you
- 33:33could be right. They only showed they stood
- 33:35under the Vatican. And it's like, well, I did that
- 33:37already. I mean, it's still fine.
- 33:39I still, you know, it still looks fine.
- 33:40But I think I really just. Want a new place to go it?
- 33:43Wasn't quite big that area, so I hope it's just if it is that
- 33:46it's expanded. Because I really wanted to go to
- 33:50Peru, but you never. Did.
- 33:51Yes, they talked. About it, they mentioned it.
- 33:53No, I'm gonna go to Peru. Nah.
- 33:55That's what they need. They need a Yeah, yeah, I am
- 33:58well. Actually, OK, technically you do
- 34:00at the start, but that's not doesn't count.
- 34:02No, that's very and I, but I also think you also go to China,
- 34:06but not really. Not really.
- 34:08Yeah, and. Sequence I think even I wouldn't
- 34:11consider it a cheat. If they made a full playable
- 34:13level in Shanghai, I'd be OK with that.
- 34:15Yeah. That would be cool, I still
- 34:18haven't finished it because that game breaking bug ruined just
- 34:23killed me and now when they finally released something I
- 34:25don't quite remember how to play and I.
- 34:28Lost the time to start again. I've literally considered
- 34:31playing it over from the start and mostly because when I played
- 34:35the first third of the game I didn't really understand it, you
- 34:38know? Like I wasn't sure even what I
- 34:39was doing or if I even liked it. I'd love to play it from the
- 34:42start and just enjoy it right from the beginning.
- 34:45Yeah, that first area in the Vatican when, yeah, like you
- 34:49said, didn't quite understand how the game worked in total.
- 34:53Now that I do, I think I would do things differently.
- 34:56Yeah, yeah. Yeah, great game.
- 35:00OK, Yeah, I just can't. I can't replay games like that.
- 35:02You need to do a remaster so I can get the achievements again.
- 35:05Then I play it again. I still have to collect all the
- 35:10the big, you know, Roman Dicks. There's a lot of them though.
- 35:13There's like 17 of them. I know, but and then he does
- 35:17Dicks and I also had a bug. I had a bug where I couldn't
- 35:19collect a collectible because it didn't exist in the world and
- 35:24that was a that was a known thing.
- 35:25So hopefully that'll be fixed when I go back in for the DLC
- 35:28and then I can finally collect it and then I will have 100
- 35:30percented all the collectibles except the Dicks.
- 35:35Yeah, they're not Dicks listeners.
- 35:36I'm just, but you know what I mean?
- 35:38Like. Dicks, yeah.
- 35:39They do look like phalluses, yeah.
- 35:42And they're they're all the same stone dildos.
- 35:45I mean. Throughout the world.
- 35:49They belong in a museum. In a museum in the country of
- 35:53origin, right? What else was in the showcase?
- 36:03I, I would be honest, I put the showcase on and then I, I did
- 36:07get a bit bored. I didn't.
- 36:08Actually watch. I didn't watch the whole.
- 36:10Thing I'm getting old man. I couldn't even watch the whole
- 36:14fucking thing. There was a lot of just stuff.
- 36:18I was like, I don't care about this.
- 36:20Yeah. Yeah, no.
- 36:22There's just too much stuff that's the problem.
- 36:24There's too much stuff done. I think we all like Outer Worlds
- 36:272 and stuff like that, but no for.
- 36:29Me. Oh yeah, yeah, that was great.
- 36:31Yeah. I'm looking forward to Outer
- 36:32Worlds 2, but for me it was just Final Fantasy 7 and the
- 36:34handheld. They were the big the big things
- 36:37for me. There was what else?
- 36:41There was something else. I've forgotten what it was
- 36:42there. It was something announced not
- 36:45in the showcase that caught me by surprise.
- 36:48I didn't even see it until a couple of days later and then I
- 36:51sent it to you guys. The fucking The Expanse.
- 36:55Osiris Reborn is a Mass Effect style game set in the world.
- 37:00The Expanse Fucking. What bring that old?
- 37:03Yeah. Yeah, I didn't even know they
- 37:05were making this. Yeah, they were like, what was
- 37:08what on a game with Matt like? Let's make that because now is
- 37:12this, is this like Witcher where it's like, this is just based on
- 37:17the books, not on on the show, you know?
- 37:20Like so? I don't think so because, well,
- 37:25I guess I don't know for sure. The music in it is the music
- 37:27from the show. I don't know that.
- 37:29I don't know that means anything.
- 37:31I guess they could have just licensed it for the trailer, but
- 37:34that seems like a stretch. The Osiris or is a thing from
- 37:39Mass Effect. So it kind of gives you, I
- 37:42assume it's supposed to invoke a, you know, an idea of what
- 37:47this might be somewhat about actually.
- 37:48And you did you watch all the trailer with the the weird stuff
- 37:51at the end, right. So it's like, OK, interesting.
- 37:55Kind of know what that is, but not where they're going with it.
- 37:58So I think it's Oh yeah. So what I was going to say is
- 38:01the TV show ended. The books continue in a way that
- 38:07so at the end of of the where the TV show ends, the books jump
- 38:13ahead. I think like 100 years.
- 38:14I haven't gotten to that point in the books because I watched
- 38:17the TV show first. But my so my understanding is
- 38:20that there's more stuff that happens later that I just don't
- 38:23know about yet because it's in the books.
- 38:25And I don't know where this is set.
- 38:27But the fact that it's called Osiris, I don't know.
- 38:31Maybe it's a sequel to the show. I don't know.
- 38:33I don't know, but I just like it's not, it doesn't look like
- 38:35they've like tried to shoe horn in people character.
- 38:38I just just play in the universe.
- 38:40Yeah, yeah, he could like, I don't know, Holden could be like
- 38:44talked about. I mean, he he would be and
- 38:46that's cool. Like, yeah, they could talk
- 38:50about. It made me remember how much I
- 38:52liked The Expanse, the show, and now I want.
- 38:55To watch that again. Yeah, same.
- 38:57I put clips on it because I was like, was it as good as I
- 38:59remember? And then there was one, there's
- 39:00a, there's a a bit, it's involving the Osiris where
- 39:02they're attacking the, the base. The Rosinante is attacking the
- 39:06base with the, with the Belters and fucking what's his name?
- 39:10The Punisher. Yes, the the actor.
- 39:14What's his name? Jane.
- 39:17Thomas Jane Yeah, yeah, yeah. And they they in the even all
- 39:20the Belters are in the, the, the drop ships and all that kind of.
- 39:23And I just say fucking what a show.
- 39:26With a haircut I wish I had the balls to have.
- 39:28Yes, yeah. I just hear you guys.
- 39:32Yeah, yeah, yeah. You guys are talking about it.
- 39:37Just this show, not the hairline.
- 39:39You guys were talking about it. And I was like, Oh yeah, I've
- 39:41got to watch this. And then I put it on and like,
- 39:43literally just that first scene of the first episode with the
- 39:46girl. And I was like, fucking.
- 39:48This is the most visually stunning television I've ever
- 39:53seen in my life. Yeah, it looks good.
- 39:56And then for some reason I just dropped off it for some reason.
- 39:59Yeah, I didn't get to the very, very end either.
- 40:01Yeah, yeah. I.
- 40:02Did I got a few seasons in and then for some reason I've got
- 40:06to, I've got to go back and then.
- 40:07Is it? I think the thing that's a shame
- 40:09about it is that, well, it's two things.
- 40:12One was that the guy playing Alex was accused of sexually,
- 40:17well-being inappropriate with fans and they had to, like,
- 40:19murder his character in the show.
- 40:21Yeah. And it sounded like it was.
- 40:23He wasn't character it. Wasn't just an accusation as
- 40:25well. He was kind of because he kind
- 40:27of went So what? So what if I do that?
- 40:29Yeah. So what if I so he was brutal.
- 40:31Wasn't he brutally murdered and like.
- 40:33Death murdered he just he just died like it so the Expanse is
- 40:38set in a world where space travel is realistic as as we
- 40:41know physics, right. So you can't, there's no
- 40:43lightspeed or anything. And if you they, they just
- 40:47accelerate right and then flip around and the gravity is just
- 40:51from the acceleration. You can stand up in the ship if
- 40:54it's accelerating at a speed that means it feels like gravity
- 40:57inside the ship. So it's all that kind of stuff.
- 41:00But anyway, if you you know you're jumping around at high G
- 41:03or whatever in space, you can have like a brain aneurysm or
- 41:05something because it's a legit. Force he just.
- 41:08And then? I guess he.
- 41:10Must have had him die. Cuts to a steel.
- 41:13Yeah, it literally was a yeah, a scene from some other episode of
- 41:17him just there and they put a bit of blood coming out of his
- 41:19nose and then. He's dead.
- 41:23He's dead. Even the Telltale Experience
- 41:26game was actually quite good. Yeah, I've heard that it's about
- 41:29drummer you. Fucking love the Telltale Games.
- 41:32You love them? I love them.
- 41:33They're great. Except.
- 41:34She's a good character too actually.
- 41:36I would be interested. The only one I played was the
- 41:38Fable 1. Oh yeah.
- 41:42And that was pretty good. Sequel to that, I just love
- 41:44them. They're a good story and also
- 41:47they're easy achievements, but they're a good story as well.
- 41:51Yeah, play that. So yeah, I'm excited about this
- 41:55game because I love The Expanse. Yeah.
- 41:59Speaking of TV shows like The Expanse or not anything like the
- 42:04expense last week I was saying that I I was watching
- 42:07Detectorists and Luke, you had you had watched it already.
- 42:11Have you watched? All season I haven't seen the
- 42:14special, but the third season it's like.
- 42:17Good. Yeah, perfectly fine, but didn't
- 42:19need to be there. Yeah, agree.
- 42:21Did you watch? So there's two specials?
- 42:23Did you watch both specials or either?
- 42:25Have you seen either of the specials?
- 42:27I didn't know there were any specials.
- 42:29So there's the three seasons 2 specials.
- 42:32The 1st special is set between or it's not set between.
- 42:35It was made between season 2 and season 3.
- 42:38So a whole lot of the weird stuff that just is there in
- 42:41season 3 that you're like, oh, OK, I guess he's got a
- 42:42girlfriend now. He gets her in the special,
- 42:45right? Oh, you know when he mentions
- 42:47like my things in the museum? Yeah, that's the plot of the
- 42:51special, right? So, which I didn't watch until
- 42:54after I'd seen all three seasons.
- 42:57So I went back. OK, I might go and watch that
- 42:59then. It's just 1/2 an hour Christmas.
- 43:01It's just like normal, just Christmas episode exercise.
- 43:04Do do that sometimes with some shows.
- 43:06He's a Christmas episode, England.
- 43:07Loves British and I love it. Yeah, but then the second
- 43:12special is feature length, an hour and a half.
- 43:15It was made 2022 and I think it was the promo for that that I
- 43:21saw that I went, Oh yeah, this show, I'll give it a watch.
- 43:24Thinking that it was a new show and not realizing it's well over
- 43:2810 years old. So it's set the right amount of
- 43:32time later that you know, it's set 10 years after.
- 43:37And I don't want to give a spoiler for what it's about, but
- 43:40it's very it's very good. It's OK.
- 43:42It's it's very worth worth watching.
- 43:45Yeah, but if. You'd see what I mean about
- 43:47season 3 like. Completely agree.
- 43:49In this season 2, one of the characters, he's going to Africa
- 43:53to become an archaeologist. And it was a nice ending point
- 43:58that. Yeah.
- 44:00And then and. The other character, his whole
- 44:03thing was he wanted to find gold and he finally found it.
- 44:06Like it really did feel like an ending.
- 44:08And then they were like, do you want to do another season?
- 44:10Here's your money? Money.
- 44:12Yeah. Because then he's like, how was
- 44:15Africa didn't work out? You know, like it's gotta.
- 44:21Yeah. And that cottage you bought
- 44:23burnt down. Oh, wait.
- 44:25Maybe that's maybe that's in the special.
- 44:28No. Oh.
- 44:29There's cottage burnt down because they.
- 44:31Buy yeah, that's pretty special. Yes, they do.
- 44:34Sorry. But this is for the girls, not
- 44:37there as well. Yeah, that's a real loss too.
- 44:40She was. She's a great.
- 44:41Character. But Matt, yeah, you got to watch
- 44:44this. Yeah, it's good, Matt.
- 44:45I think you'd like it. It's not like continual laugh
- 44:50out loud, barely laugh funny, but it is continually light and
- 44:54fun and nice. Yeah, it's just really good.
- 44:58Yeah. I'll tell you, it's not light
- 45:00and fun and nice. Well, it's got some moments of
- 45:02levity. It's a movie that I watched
- 45:04again and you guys presumably have not watched.
- 45:07Yet I do have it bookmarked, but I haven't watched it.
- 45:09OK, I watched Sinners again, Nate, you were right.
- 45:14Yeah. Even better the second time,
- 45:16honestly, because the things that there were a couple of
- 45:17things that I was like, I'm not sure about the first time.
- 45:19Nah, I loved it. Loved it.
- 45:21OK, yeah, you'd gotten used to the fact that they were all
- 45:23people of colour, and the second time you just let.
- 45:25It go yeah, yeah, yeah. No, because actually it was
- 45:30actually actually vampire stuff at the end that I was with.
- 45:34Oh, OK, OK. I actually, I've, I when the
- 45:36first time I saw it, I absolutely loved like the first
- 45:392/3 of it because actually the first third of it.
- 45:42So I mean slight spoils like you know what this movie is about
- 45:45really. Right.
- 45:46More or less, yeah. A lot of people don't.
- 45:48We watched, We invited people around to watch it.
- 45:50They didn't know that it was a vampire movie and it would.
- 45:53I love that. I wish I didn't know when I saw
- 45:55it because Jenna didn't know. And she would.
- 45:57Yeah. It was like a surprise.
- 45:58All of a. Sudden I didn't know From Dusk
- 46:00of Dawn was a vampire movie and that's the perfect way to watch
- 46:02that fucking. It's like that, Yeah.
- 46:04So I was, Yeah. And and I absolutely loved.
- 46:09So the first third of it is just about these two brothers who go
- 46:12come back from Chicago, back to Mississippi.
- 46:14And they've been like working for Al Capone and they've got
- 46:17all this money and they're like, we're going to start a Juke
- 46:19joint, but they've like have to buy this building off these this
- 46:23guy who's a clan member and stuff like that.
- 46:24It's just all like, no, it's and it's just really interesting.
- 46:28And like all these and just the characters are just super
- 46:30interesting. They're all like, like slavery's
- 46:33ended, but they all still work on the plantations because you
- 46:36know what else you got to work to do?
- 46:37Yeah, exactly. It's just great, like super
- 46:40interesting, good characters and then and then vampires.
- 46:46Amazing. It's great.
- 46:48All right, I'll I might watch it one day.
- 46:50I want to watch the movies again.
- 46:53It's really good. Like I went and thought Michael
- 46:54B Jordan placed two people, 02 twins.
- 46:58Wait, who played? Oh, does he?
- 46:59Yeah, that's right. Get him in there again.
- 47:02Yeah, sorry. What did you say, Luke?
- 47:05I went and saw thunderbolts. How?
- 47:08How is it? We talked about fucking Florence
- 47:10Pugh before and you didn't have. To say anything.
- 47:12Yeah, I didn't. Yeah, just.
- 47:14Well, it's Thunderbolts Star, because the whole idea.
- 47:20Is asterisks, yeah. Asterisks.
- 47:22Yeah, Because the reason why it's the asterisks is because at
- 47:26the end of it, they become the New Avengers.
- 47:29Yeah, of course they fucking do. So I think they've reset The
- 47:32Avengers again. Yeah.
- 47:35And it's sort. Of desperate to keep this train
- 47:37going, aren't they? All the misfits.
- 47:39You know the last one, The last Avengers movie was called End
- 47:42Game, and it was a very definitive ending.
- 47:46I what they all she should have done is ended it there and then
- 47:49left a couple years and then started again with the new
- 47:52story. Mind you, some good TV shows
- 47:54came out of it, but man, I just, I'm sure I'll ask you whether it
- 47:59was good or not. It looks pretty good, but I just
- 48:01don't care. I can't bring myself to care.
- 48:04Here's the thing, it's like one of the best rated movies that
- 48:06they've had in a while, but also no one's gone to see it because
- 48:11I think it's all it's a bit of the same like everyone's just
- 48:14like. Yeah, plus it's all the people
- 48:18from the TV shows. Why isn't this on TV?
- 48:21Like I feel like if I have to leave my house to watch this, it
- 48:23doesn't feel fair. Like it was OK, I didn't mind it
- 48:27but. Because it's like Black Widows
- 48:29people, too, but that wasn't in the movies.
- 48:31That's right. Theaters, yeah.
- 48:33Yeah. But wasn't that only because was
- 48:36that? I think that was planned to be a
- 48:38movie release, but then COVID. It was released during COVID.
- 48:41Yes, and it was, well, it was that whole thing about yeah, was
- 48:45it COVID I? Think they were counting their
- 48:46blessings to be on that one, to be honest.
- 48:48Yeah, Do people care about a Black Widow movie?
- 48:51Well it was probably the best of the post end game.
- 48:56Just Marvel movies. And it was the better the
- 49:00argument about. Is it because, is it because
- 49:03Black Widow isn't that interesting?
- 49:05Or is it because she's a woman and it's like, well.
- 49:08Yeah, because everyone was. Like hard to say at this point
- 49:10because they didn't make interesting women characters
- 49:12back in the day. Yeah, he didn't like Captain
- 49:13Marvel because she was a woman. No, he didn't like that because
- 49:15it was fucking boring. Yeah, yeah.
- 49:21She wore a ninja. Yeah, that was OK.
- 49:24And then when you saw that alien, he was like, G Day, it's
- 49:27me. Like and Ben Mendelsohn.
- 49:30Yeah, you can't see. Alexa, stop.
- 49:36Yeah, no one's talking to you, Alexa.
- 49:38That was weird. Sorry, did you say Ben
- 49:40Mendelsohn? I think she was about to tell me
- 49:44a fact that Ben Mendelsohn. Had David Harbour let it go, Had
- 49:47David Harbour back as like her father and stuff.
- 49:50And I love him. He's.
- 49:51Great. I'm not going to the movies to
- 49:53watch David Harbour. He's he's an online person.
- 49:57I watch him on Netflix. I watch him on Disney Plus.
- 50:00Well, don't they get to see soon?
- 50:02Aren't they finally releasing the end of Stranger Things Soon?
- 50:05I. Think it's not till the end of
- 50:06the year? I think it's still months away,
- 50:08isn't it? I hope, man, that last season
- 50:11was very good. I hope the next one is.
- 50:13All the seasons have been good. Yeah, well, half of Season 2 was
- 50:17good. Oh, they yeah, when she went off
- 50:22to the city. For me it goes one that was bad.
- 50:25Yeah, but. Most second one and four, then
- 50:28three. Them too.
- 50:31Yeah. But I still like, I just, I
- 50:33still like when he comes back from the camp and then they're
- 50:36singing on the radio and that was just fun.
- 50:40It's. Ridiculous.
- 50:43Hopefully this doesn't get the conversation doesn't get weird,
- 50:45but I am like so. Go on.
- 50:50Molly Bobby Brown. She's of age now.
- 50:53You. Think she's?
- 50:54Sexy now, No, no, no, no, because I can't not see her as
- 50:59as 11, but she. You tell me two weeks ago the
- 51:02heavily Yeah, she's changed. Heavily sexualized currently.
- 51:07Like I can't everywhere I don't. Think.
- 51:10She's she's wearing badly anything and I'm like, when the
- 51:14fuck did that happen? And it's and I feel weird about
- 51:16it because to. Me.
- 51:17She doesn't want us to think of her as a child anymore.
- 51:20I mean, probably she's going to shift what we think.
- 51:22I don't know if it's she's thinking that I think it's what
- 51:25they're making her do. I don't know.
- 51:26It doesn't seem. Like she's that's, that's what I
- 51:28mean. Like if it's creepy to me in a
- 51:31way that it's like I'm, and I hate it because I'm like, she's
- 51:34a fucking grown woman now. She can do what she wants, but
- 51:36for some reason something about but it feels creepy to me.
- 51:40You know, like what's her name from the Wizard of Oz like?
- 51:46Judy Garland. Julie, you know, like she was
- 51:48forced to like to, you know, like do drugs or whatever to
- 51:52participate in Hollywood and it I don't know, it doesn't, I
- 51:55don't know, maybe I'm just inventing this, but this is.
- 51:57The This is the best euphemism I've ever.
- 51:58Heard do some. Drugs and participate in
- 52:01Hollywood. It just doesn't vibe about Bobby
- 52:05Brown that I don't like at the moment.
- 52:06Doesn't feel like her, even the roles that she's actually
- 52:08playing like Enola homes and stuff, like they're sort of.
- 52:12Sure. Family friendly stuff but
- 52:14they're still here. Me tits.
- 52:16Yeah, but that's. I she could do what she wants,
- 52:19obviously, but I just for some reason, yeah, something off
- 52:22about it. It could just be show me her
- 52:25breasts, she's welcome to. Yeah, I said that.
- 52:27About fucking Florence Pugh. I'll say that about Millie,
- 52:30Bobby. Brown, She's wanting to show.
- 52:33No, but it's all in her social media, isn't it?
- 52:35She's not in sexy movies. No, no, I know, I know.
- 52:38But I, I just in my head, I think I can't get her out of
- 52:42being a child in ATV show. So it's like I go see her and I
- 52:46go, no, not you. I, I feel that way about I'm
- 52:51like, I, I never found Drew Barrymore attractive even when
- 52:54she was attractive because I was like, no, but she's the little
- 52:57girl from ET like. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 53:00That's, I think it maybe it's something to do with that.
- 53:02It's just, yeah, I can't. But to be honest, I think that's
- 53:04probably a healthy attitude to have well.
- 53:07Thank you, I hope so. You know, as opposed to fuck.
- 53:10I can't wait till she gets older.
- 53:12You know, that's that's slightly less healthy.
- 53:14No, no, she's not Natalie Portman.
- 53:15Yeah, that's right. But I also know what you mean.
- 53:17Like, it's not like. Don't tell Natalie Portman that
- 53:19you you liked her. She does not want to hear about
- 53:22it. She doesn't.
- 53:22She's not fucking hearing about it.
- 53:24I know that must be such a weird life.
- 53:26I know every man is like, you know what I did when I was OK?
- 53:29I don't want to hear it. Yeah, yeah.
- 53:31You know when you were hot, when you were a little girl?
- 53:33Yeah. Yes.
- 53:34Thank you. I'm aware of that.
- 53:36Have you ever considered how many men at the same time could
- 53:39have been looking at a picture of you?
- 53:41And you know, have you ever thought about that?
- 53:43No. If we could have somehow
- 53:46harnessed that energy of all of those men jerking off for you.
- 53:51For you, Natalie. Oh, I had something, but it's
- 53:57gone now. Oh, probably not what I should
- 54:00say. Like with Billy Bob Brown.
- 54:05It's not like it was with. Oh, what's her name?
- 54:08I've lost her name now. Billy Ray Cyrus's kid.
- 54:14Miley Cyrus, Yeah. She went like.
- 54:20That's what I Yeah, yeah, maybe I'm well.
- 54:23I I just, I hope she doesn't go down that road.
- 54:26You know, maybe I'm just an old man.
- 54:27Now, you know what's the opposite of that, though?
- 54:29Because they're all Disney kids, right?
- 54:30You know, my all of them. The opposite is Zendaya.
- 54:33Because I was talking, we were watching some Zendaya woman.
- 54:36Yeah. Well, and like, I was talking to
- 54:38like, she's doing the trapeze. I think because Harper's
- 54:40obsessed with the Greatest Showman, right?
- 54:42She watches so often that we have to listen to the soundtrack
- 54:45in the car. And she loves Zendaya.
- 54:47She's got the Little Golden Book of Zendaya.
- 54:49And but I was saying hi. I'm like, isn't it odd how
- 54:53Zendaya is not sexy? And he's like, she's perfect.
- 54:57I'm like, yeah, she's yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 54:59But she's just sexy. No one's going Google Zendaya
- 55:03Ass, you know, like no one thinks about it some.
- 55:06Ways, I'm pretty sure Tom Holland I.
- 55:09Don't mean I don't mean me, I don't mean me.
- 55:11I'm sure someone's logged into my account.
- 55:13Someone in this house? Someone with with with with this
- 55:19search history I. Know what you mean?
- 55:22She's classy in a way that some of them just.
- 55:25Aren't not to say you can't be sexy.
- 55:26And classy. But there's just something about
- 55:28Zendaya. She's just ridden above.
- 55:33Well, I also think there's a difference between like sexy,
- 55:36classy and just slutty. Yeah.
- 55:41Like from the other Disney girls you want?
- 55:43To I'm sorry for bringing this topic.
- 55:45Up I just no, it's just you thought it was going to get
- 55:47weird and it probably. Did no for us, just for the
- 55:49listeners. I mean I did pre empt it saying
- 55:51this is going. To be all our female listeners
- 55:52have logged off at this. Point.
- 55:54Yeah, like that's just sex. Have logged off.
- 55:56I. Don't know.
- 55:56I think we were be quite respectful going.
- 56:00Well, that's my point is that I I do.
- 56:02Like I said, it's a smiley boy gravy time someone posts like
- 56:06this is her at some fucking awards show.
- 56:08I'm like, I don't, no. No Matt, you've ruined it.
- 56:11You have to jerk off to her now to make to even all this out
- 56:14again. God, did she now just.
- 56:23Now. Now it's.
- 56:24Weird. Now you've crossed.
- 56:27She's 21. She's 21.
- 56:29Okay, that's. Not.
- 56:30Old enough, man. You're 45?
- 56:34No. I was just curious.
- 56:36It's not good. What was Oh OK, Did you, do you
- 56:41guys ever do you guys remember a fucking sitcom from the 80s
- 56:44called Out of this world about a girl whose dad lived on another
- 56:47planet and talked to her through a little glowing alien cube?
- 56:52I do remember that. And she could freeze time by
- 56:54going like this, and time would freeze because she had alien
- 56:57powers. It's called out.
- 57:00Of this you don't remember this. Yeah.
- 57:01No, no, I do remember it. I.
- 57:02Fucking loved it. And I was in love with this girl
- 57:06Evie when I was like 10 and she was 14, right?
- 57:09Like I was just in love with her, which was so beautiful.
- 57:12I watched this like recap of the of the whole series on YouTube.
- 57:16Somebody's done the other day and I'm like, oh, there's that
- 57:20girl I loved. Oh, she's a little kid.
- 57:22Oh, the mum's not bad though. That's where I ended my life.
- 57:29That's funny. Oh, I had Burt Reynolds.
- 57:32Has the voice uncredited of the of the crystal cube?
- 57:37Yeah. There you go.
- 57:40You know, I don't think I've ever seen this.
- 57:43I thought it was amazing and if up until this week, if you'd
- 57:47asked me was it any good, I would have said yeah, it's
- 57:49great, it's really good. But now that I've.
- 57:51Recapped. It it does not look at all.
- 57:55For starters, she can freeze time right?
- 57:57Do you know what visual effect they use to show freezing time?
- 58:00Do you know what special effect they used?
- 58:02Freezing everyone just for. Everyone just stood really
- 58:05still. Yeah, of course.
- 58:06Like at the end of police squad a bell would.
- 58:08Yes, Do we? See get everyone just.
- 58:11Yeah, yeah. Have you seen those outtakes of
- 58:15Police Squad where it's just so funny that that just like
- 58:19Driven? What's his fucking name?
- 58:20I can't remember the actor's name, but.
- 58:24Jesus Christ. Leslie Nielsen.
- 58:25Nielsen Yeah, even he breaks his Stonewall.
- 58:29Yeah, like fuck that show is. Good, I said.
- 58:31There are some shows that I think you know, I was, I was
- 58:34sending you guys Key and Peele's clips because YouTube was like,
- 58:37remember Key and Peele? Yeah, how cool that shows.
- 58:39YouTube now thinks that's all I want to watch because after I
- 58:42watched that one I watched like 6 more.
- 58:44Yeah, because it's so funny. And then you watch the bloopers
- 58:46from Key and Peele and it's just it's just one of those things
- 58:49that sunny, always sunny in Philadelphia, the office,
- 58:54there's some shows that it's like you watch those believers
- 58:56and you're like, that must be so much fun.
- 59:00But also if you're a crew member.
- 59:03You're professional. Fury, yeah.
- 59:05Yeah, Yeah. Well, I think what they do and I
- 59:07think I've heard them talk about this like they will feel what
- 59:10we've recorded first, like what we've written first.
- 59:14Yeah, yeah. And now?
- 59:18No, but even the even what's written is sometimes very hard
- 59:21to perform. Like if you look at I mean the
- 59:23the the ones for extras in particular.
- 59:26Are because of face. He just can't keep a straight
- 59:29face if another funny actor is saying funny things to him.
- 59:32Yeah, which must be fucking annoying because he but but the
- 59:37the the dialogue that's written is so funny.
- 59:40Yeah, but then you hear someone say, I mean, because we've done
- 59:42it before, like sometimes definitely get into it.
- 59:44Oh. Yeah, I'm the worst.
- 59:46I can't say my own lines. Yeah, fucking.
- 59:48I just laugh. And like something that's not
- 59:52funny can set you off. It doesn't matter.
- 59:53Yes, because it just gets in there like, but Oh yeah.
- 59:56But those shows, like those shows in particular, like Sunny,
- 59:58the Sunny bloopers, I'm just like, oh, fuck, they.
- 1:00:00It must be just so much fun. And they're the ones that they
- 1:00:03show. Yeah.
- 1:00:05That's nothing that they're not. Good point.
- 1:00:09I want them to film that fake episode they showed Frank and he
- 1:00:13was like. I'm not going to do it.
- 1:00:15Yes. Danny DeVito, a friend, gets
- 1:00:18raped over and over. We get that the season comes out
- 1:00:23very soon. That's exciting.
- 1:00:25Very. Soon.
- 1:00:26That was good. Last season was very good.
- 1:00:28They had that Dennis episode that was fucking excellent.
- 1:00:32Man, which was. I'm sorry, the T doesn't come
- 1:00:36without the boba. Well, it does.
- 1:00:37I can see the T there and I can see the boba there.
- 1:00:39Just don't put those in that. I'm sorry the system doesn't
- 1:00:42allow me to do that. Oh, the system doesn't allow you
- 1:00:44to do that. It's so good.
- 1:00:47Yeah, fuck me. What an actor.
- 1:00:50What an actor. He went to Juilliard, Yeah.
- 1:00:54And now he does this, Yeah. And I love, I love him for it.
- 1:00:57Yeah, I wanted him to get an Oscar nom for BlackBerry.
- 1:01:01I thought he was great, fucking terrific in that.
- 1:01:04Well, let's think of watching something recently and like,
- 1:01:08because he's the one that he wants out every now and again,
- 1:01:11and that's why he did. Leave.
- 1:01:13I think he wants to do something more serious.
- 1:01:14Yeah. And I'm sure they were saying,
- 1:01:16like, every time we're writing, we get to a point where we go,
- 1:01:20we're done with this, we're quitting, and then they keep
- 1:01:23going. Right, Matt, did you watch AP
- 1:01:27Bio? No, I've got to watch.
- 1:01:30That you've got to watch it. It's very good.
- 1:01:32It's not sunny, but it may as well be.
- 1:01:37Dennis. Yes, You know, OK.
- 1:01:38Like, yeah, yeah, it's just. I think it's Dennis.
- 1:01:42It got Four Seasons. I don't know how it got Four
- 1:01:44Seasons because. Yeah, I didn't.
- 1:01:48I'd never even heard of it until all the seasons were out.
- 1:01:53It was, and the first season is aged.
- 1:01:56Yeah, they started getting stubble by the end of it because
- 1:01:59it's supposed to just be the next school year, but like, they
- 1:02:03were all like 20 when they started it.
- 1:02:05Like you have more stubble than I do after I shave.
- 1:02:09Yeah, yeah. I watch it, it's on.
- 1:02:13It's very good. It's very funny.
- 1:02:15I should. It's just it's a sitcom.
- 1:02:17It's more of a traditional sitcom than Always Sunny is.
- 1:02:22And that was his. Like I'm going to go off and do
- 1:02:24my own thing that's really open that then.
- 1:02:28I mean, I'm glad he did go off and do his own thing, but I'm
- 1:02:30also glad he went back. Back So is this the because
- 1:02:34they're still got more seasons on the books, don't they?
- 1:02:37Or is this the yeah officially? Greenlit.
- 1:02:39No, no, I don't think like. 20 seasons, right?
- 1:02:41Yeah. Yeah, I think there's at least
- 1:02:43one or two more. Yeah, at least one might be two.
- 1:02:49It's funny when you watch it from the start again, the IT the
- 1:02:52tone has changed so much since the early days.
- 1:02:56Yes. And it's been around so long
- 1:02:59that it's one of those shows where there are things early on
- 1:03:02where you're like, oh, like, how'd they get away with that?
- 1:03:04And it's like, well, because that wasn't a problem back then.
- 1:03:06Yeah, not. Yeah, and then I mean, there's
- 1:03:07literally episodes now that they will never air again.
- 1:03:10No, they've removed the ones, all the black folks, at least
- 1:03:13the weapon ones. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:03:15And they but. Still, they've still got the
- 1:03:16first episode up which talks about people hanging from
- 1:03:19rafters. Yes.
- 1:03:22But I think. But the joke?
- 1:03:23Is that? Everyone thinks he's racist so.
- 1:03:26Yeah, yeah. And.
- 1:03:29But just doing blackface. Is the ones with Carmen are
- 1:03:31still there, which I was like, maybe no one's noticed.
- 1:03:36Yeah, like that. There are certainly a large
- 1:03:39group of people that would be upset by that, I would think I.
- 1:03:42Was upset but also Mac was sleeping we thought but the.
- 1:03:47Yeah, but The thing is, the fact that he ended up being gay
- 1:03:50almost ruins that joke, because that joke was yes, she was so
- 1:03:54hot that this. Fucking.
- 1:03:56Alpha dude didn't even care that she had a Dick.
- 1:04:01But there's a he's like that's, I mean, just the way that they,
- 1:04:05I know that he's the butt of the joke, but he is very harsh about
- 1:04:08it. He's literally ashamed of.
- 1:04:10It he's like, no, no, no, you're beautiful.
- 1:04:11I'm just disgusted in myself sleeping again.
- 1:04:22Yeah, yeah, yeah, so good. You know what else you're going
- 1:04:26to be disgusted in yourself participating in is the after
- 1:04:29party. So let's head over there now.
