- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back into the show today. Today we're going to
- 0:02Speaker 1: be diving deep on a lot of market trends that
- 0:04Speaker 1: are starting to break down. You don't want to miss it.
- 0:06Speaker 1: My name is Paul Barron. Let's get started. I do
- 0:08Speaker 1: want to thank our sponsor today, and that of course
- 0:11Speaker 1: is Coinbase. You guys can jump over to coinbase dot com.
- 0:14Speaker 1: It's very easy to do. All you have to do
- 0:16Speaker 1: is visit coinbase dot com and the future of money
- 0:20Speaker 1: is here. One thing about coinbase is you're a business,
- 0:23Speaker 1: you're an individual, doesn't matter. You can set up your
- 0:25Speaker 1: account over there and get started on your own crypto journey.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Make sure and use our link down below. It will
- 0:31Speaker 1: help the channel and we appreciate it. All right, guys,
- 0:33Speaker 1: let's get into Let's get into a couple of things here.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I want to just jump into a few elements that
- 0:39Speaker 1: really are starting to kind of frame where the market
- 0:42Speaker 1: is heading, because we've had kind of a little bit
- 0:43Speaker 1: of an up and down situation all starting in with
- 0:47Speaker 1: of course Trump's call with Squawkbox yesterday. We did a
- 0:51Speaker 1: whole piece on this yesterday. Check that video out. But
- 0:54Speaker 1: of course, the thing about this that's interesting is when
- 0:57Speaker 1: you look at what he was talking about. He was
- 0:59Speaker 1: talking about this whole choke point. I guess three point
- 1:03Speaker 1: zero because this was in reference to the problem he
- 1:07Speaker 1: was having with Bank of America. I want to go
- 1:10Speaker 1: to a clip because this clip actually explains that the
- 1:15Speaker 1: Bank of America takes responsibility. Listen in and your name
- 1:20Speaker 1: came up, and so I wanted to get your reaction
- 1:22Speaker 1: to that.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I'm telling you, I'm still trying to unsee some of
- 1:25Speaker 2: the visuals that he created with his commentary. But look,
- 1:27Speaker 2: the President's after the right thing, which is the laws,
- 1:30Speaker 2: rules and regulations around our industry became used to cause
- 1:35Speaker 2: things to happen. It's was BSAML, where is KYC, whether
- 1:38Speaker 2: it's reputational risk and you hear Tim Scott quote about it.
- 1:41Speaker 3: It is right to go look at these rules.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Because the end of the day, the presidence on the
- 1:45Speaker 2: right issue, which is we've got to stop the regulars
- 1:47Speaker 2: behind the scenes of whip sawing back and forth and
- 1:50Speaker 2: forcing our companies and companies like ours to make decisions
- 1:53Speaker 2: which Congress hasn't passed on or he hasn't passed it.
- 1:56Speaker 1: All right, So a few things within this. First of all,
- 1:59Speaker 1: that's astounding that the b of a executive would come
- 2:04Speaker 1: in and actually say, yeah, with the President's right on this,
- 2:06Speaker 1: there's a lot of problems within the banking system of
- 2:08Speaker 1: how these things are done. This was a reputational risk thing.
- 2:11Speaker 1: So I had always thought that that was more of
- 2:15Speaker 1: a gut call, and there wasn't really clarification on maybe
- 2:20Speaker 1: a system that's set up for something like that. Maybe
- 2:22Speaker 1: there is, but interesting that they jumped onto that. Our
- 2:26Speaker 1: friend Matt Hogan also came out with this piece right here.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Let me kind of share this for you guys. This
- 2:31Speaker 1: is interesting because within this note he's referencing the SEC
- 2:37Speaker 1: chair's new vision and it's a pretty amazing statement. What
- 2:41Speaker 1: he's getting into. The biggest thing is is that all
- 2:43Speaker 1: this is not priced in. There's a few reasons why
- 2:46Speaker 1: I want to scan the article. Some of the big
- 2:49Speaker 1: deals that he's talking about, of course, is what it
- 2:51Speaker 1: means for besters. If you're in digital assets today, you
- 2:54Speaker 1: probably already know this, but if you're brand new. One
- 2:56Speaker 1: thing that you're going to note three opportunities within this,
- 3:00Speaker 1: and I agree with all three with Matt, and that
- 3:03Speaker 1: is the best approach you're going to see is this
- 3:05Speaker 1: basket sets and this could be everything from Salona eth
- 3:09Speaker 1: Cardono XRP of Avalanche. You get the list there, sweet
- 3:12Speaker 1: near if you're listening on the audio. But the other
- 3:15Speaker 1: things that start to really pay attention to is when
- 3:17Speaker 1: people are not necessarily ready for I guess exposure to
- 3:23Speaker 1: the true digital asset, but are more interested maybe in
- 3:26Speaker 1: the ecosystem. That is where the super apps come in,
- 3:29Speaker 1: and that of course is going to be Coinbase in Robinhood,
- 3:31Speaker 1: both of which are barreling toward a head to head
- 3:35Speaker 1: confrontation because Coinbase has been all on crypto and now
- 3:38Speaker 1: starting to get in token is securities. Robinhood has been
- 3:41Speaker 1: all on securities and now getting into crypto, and they've
- 3:45Speaker 1: continued to grow both of these. Of course, robin Hood
- 3:48Speaker 1: performing much better right now in their earnings, Coinbase having
- 3:51Speaker 1: some struggle even looking at a buyback. The third element
- 3:55Speaker 1: he hits on is define Now. DeFi is a big deal.
- 3:58Speaker 1: UNISWAP was the one he specific mentioned, and the reason
- 4:02Speaker 1: is because it starts to connect the dots outside of
- 4:05Speaker 1: the traditional system. One thing about here is with greater clarity,
- 4:09Speaker 1: we could see a lot of these numbers, especially in
- 4:12Speaker 1: these DeFi platforms, rise considerably, so traditional crypto markets merge.
- 4:18Speaker 1: This opportunity is going to be huge, and I think
- 4:19Speaker 1: that is another thing that people don't pay attention to.
- 4:22Speaker 1: So this is all very bullish, guys. And when you
- 4:25Speaker 1: look at where the market is right now, even though
- 4:28Speaker 1: you know bigcoin's trading back above one point fifteen, we're
- 4:30Speaker 1: starting to see market stabilize a little bit, but we're
- 4:32Speaker 1: still dealing with a lot of issues that face us
- 4:36Speaker 1: into the macro side of things. I'll share some of
- 4:38Speaker 1: that in a second. I want to jump on to
- 4:40Speaker 1: ETH and I would say the super investor that is
- 4:44Speaker 1: out there backing it right now, and that of course
- 4:46Speaker 1: is Tom Lee. Basically says ethereum is the biggest macro
- 4:50Speaker 1: trade over the next ten to fifteen years. That in
- 4:53Speaker 1: itself is huge, guys. For it to be the biggest
- 4:56Speaker 1: macro trade over the next decade two decade and a
- 5:01Speaker 1: half is like you are in the beginning of the
- 5:05Speaker 1: Internet era. And I kind of compare this to what's
- 5:08Speaker 1: happening around the industry for quite some time. And I
- 5:11Speaker 1: think Tom is starting to get the picture here. Now,
- 5:15Speaker 1: how far will ethereum go. Well, there's some big claims here.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I want to go to this next clip from Tom
- 5:20Speaker 1: Lee talking about just that take a look.
- 5:23Speaker 4: So eventually, I think someone on Twitter made the point
- 5:26Speaker 4: that staking eth for Wall Street is like gamers buying
- 5:31Speaker 4: in video that you would have done better to buy
- 5:34Speaker 4: in vidio as well as be a gamer or be
- 5:36Speaker 4: a gaming company. But because of you know, really how
- 5:43Speaker 4: blockchains work, it is actually that exact idea that Wall
- 5:47Speaker 4: Street is. If they're going to be tokenizing real world
- 5:51Speaker 4: assets from money markets to dollars to stocks, that they're
- 5:54Speaker 4: going to want to own eth itself. But then they
- 5:57Speaker 4: want whoever's staking it to actually be an entity that
- 6:02Speaker 4: is really trying to further the goals of Ethereum. So
- 6:05Speaker 4: I think we really serve an important purpose by staking
- 6:08Speaker 4: etherums had zero down time. That is what matters to
- 6:11Speaker 4: Wall Street. It's also ai right, actually if people go
- 6:14Speaker 4: back to twenty seventeen, because I think Ethereum is having
- 6:16Speaker 4: its Bitcoin twenty seventeen moment this year where Wall Street
- 6:21Speaker 4: is finally getting behind eight. You know, Bitcoin was one
- 6:27Speaker 4: thousand in the early part of twenty seventeen, and it
- 6:29Speaker 4: wasn't until August and then it went straight up, I
- 6:34Speaker 4: mean literally went straight up.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Tom is very bullish you know he but remember he
- 6:38Speaker 1: has not been an ethereum bull for a while. I
- 6:41Speaker 1: mean he remembered. He started really predicting where bitcoin was
- 6:46Speaker 1: going to be going, and of course we saw ETFs,
- 6:48Speaker 1: then treasury companies kind of force everybody's hand into the
- 6:51Speaker 1: growth of where Bitcoin is today trading over at some
- 6:54Speaker 1: points over one hundred and twenty two K. So all
- 6:57Speaker 1: of what he has believed is now coming true. One
- 7:01Speaker 1: more belief he has, which this one will shock you,
- 7:05Speaker 1: is whether or not Ether will flip Bitcoin.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Like a look to what he say, I actually think
- 7:10Speaker 4: that there's upside, a bigger upside story to ethereum, because
- 7:15Speaker 4: there's more skepticism. To start with, Bitcoin wasn't necessarily something
- 7:19Speaker 4: people shorted. They just didn't believe it. Wall Street is
- 7:24Speaker 4: not professionally convinced Ethereum is even a surviving chain. I
- 7:28Speaker 4: think the upside case for Ether is actually higher than
- 7:32Speaker 4: let's say Bitcoin to a one hundred x. I think that
- 7:35Speaker 4: that could happen because there is probably a non significant
- 7:39Speaker 4: probability that Ethereum could flip Bitcoin as well. So one
- 7:43Speaker 4: hundred x of Ethereum at this point in time, would
- 7:45Speaker 4: that be about forty trillion where do you see ether
- 7:48Speaker 4: price going and say the end of this year. Well,
- 7:50Speaker 4: I think the near term price people should think about
- 7:52Speaker 4: is etherum getting to four thousand, because ethereum should be
- 7:57Speaker 4: is a better story than it was in December, and
- 7:59Speaker 4: it was fourth December. So just like saying, give it
- 8:03Speaker 4: credit for where it is a year ago versus a
- 8:05Speaker 4: year ago, it should be six thousand. But of course
- 8:09Speaker 4: there is going to be a lot happening between now
- 8:12Speaker 4: and your end, including you know, other ethereuing treasury is
- 8:17Speaker 4: starting to buy ethereum, plus bitcoin goes up, so I
- 8:20Speaker 4: think before by the year end, it's not unreasonable think
- 8:22Speaker 4: seven thousand, even twelve or fifteen thousand could happen.
- 8:27Speaker 1: All right, So first I want to just say Tom
- 8:31Speaker 1: is the chairman of BM and R, which is a
- 8:34Speaker 1: eath treasury company, So just remember that he is talking
- 8:38Speaker 1: to his own book. I get that, but I think
- 8:40Speaker 1: most investors, due to a certain extent. Now his statement though,
- 8:44Speaker 1: of one hundred eggs, that's an unbelievable number because I
- 8:48Speaker 1: think the first of all, the Internet of value would
- 8:51Speaker 1: have to essentially transfer onto what's happening on eth doesn't
- 8:54Speaker 1: mean that it couldn't, but it is a pretty bold statement,
- 8:57Speaker 1: and I think, of course flipping bitcoin it's another bold statement.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Also.
- 9:01Speaker 1: It was a little bit rattled there on year end
- 9:05Speaker 1: of year because when you look at your end of
- 9:07Speaker 1: year seven k, okay, I can kind of go with
- 9:10Speaker 1: a seven K price point for ethereum. I wouldn't say
- 9:14Speaker 1: that I would double that to fifteen k just by
- 9:16Speaker 1: oh it should be there. Now. Sure there are some
- 9:19Speaker 1: indicators because of what's happening in the treasury companies that
- 9:22Speaker 1: it could go that direction. We're going to be watching
- 9:25Speaker 1: this one really closely because the statement is pretty pretty outlandish.
- 9:28Speaker 1: One thing I want to share with you is this
- 9:31Speaker 1: statement here by eleanor Terra, And of course this is
- 9:33Speaker 1: talking about liquid staking and the fact that the SEC
- 9:37Speaker 1: and the Corporate Finance Division has provided some guidance around
- 9:40Speaker 1: liquid staking activity. So all this is good, This is
- 9:42Speaker 1: good for GEDO. We'll probably see other platforms out there
- 9:45Speaker 1: that are doing liquid staking most likely as well, that
- 9:48Speaker 1: are all benefit from this. So that is just another
- 9:51Speaker 1: direction that I think we're going to continue to see,
- 9:54Speaker 1: and so many people don't realize what opportunities are in
- 9:58Speaker 1: front of us right now. I think the other issue
- 10:01Speaker 1: that you have to consider is when you look at
- 10:04Speaker 1: DeFi and you think about how big DeFi truly is,
- 10:08Speaker 1: because most people don't trade on DeFi unless you're in
- 10:11Speaker 1: the crypto space. Right now, many of you are brand
- 10:13Speaker 1: new to our show. Well, let me show you something
- 10:15Speaker 1: right here. This is a tweet. It's kind of interesting
- 10:18Speaker 1: showing the volume of the UNISWAP protocol. This is nearly
- 10:21Speaker 1: forty billion this month. So just step back forty billion
- 10:27Speaker 1: this month, and we have not seen mass adoption. We
- 10:31Speaker 1: have not seen major transition from Wall Street. Everybody's talking
- 10:34Speaker 1: about it, but it hasn't happened, and I think that's
- 10:37Speaker 1: a factor you guys have to look at further into this.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I want to go over to what Matt Hogan said
- 10:43Speaker 1: right here as UNISWAP six billion feels way too small,
- 10:47Speaker 1: and if we're a company, it would be the four
- 10:49Speaker 1: hundredth largest financial services business in the world after it
- 10:53Speaker 1: just did forty billion last month. So think about that,
- 10:57Speaker 1: guys for a second. That is the difference between where
- 11:00Speaker 1: DeFi is going and where it is right now. It
- 11:03Speaker 1: is very very early in this stage. Now, I want
- 11:06Speaker 1: to go to another article that was in here. This
- 11:08Speaker 1: is in reference to the fee switch. This is the
- 11:12Speaker 1: thing that will help UNISWAP, I think, go to the
- 11:15Speaker 1: next level. And what they're talking about is this whole
- 11:17Speaker 1: issue around right there, and that is activating the fee switch.
- 11:20Speaker 1: This is going to mean a portion of those fees
- 11:22Speaker 1: would be shared with investors who own the UNISWAP token.
- 11:26Speaker 1: This is all very good for DeFi and it would
- 11:28Speaker 1: also help solidify what UNISWAP is trying to do. And
- 11:33Speaker 1: I think that's the position you guys have to look
- 11:36Speaker 1: at is when you consider kind of the future of
- 11:38Speaker 1: where digital assets are right now, and you think about
- 11:42Speaker 1: the fact that DeFi has been pretty much excluded from
- 11:45Speaker 1: everything over the past several years, what is this going
- 11:49Speaker 1: to look like in the next twelve months, eighteen months?
- 11:53Speaker 2: All right?
- 11:54Speaker 1: So another let me show you this tweet right here.
- 11:56Speaker 1: This is another token or project that's not been priced in.
- 11:58Speaker 1: This is of course being Salana. Those salonas performing dramatically.
- 12:02Speaker 1: But remember that the Seeker is now some lanes can
- 12:06Speaker 1: see pictures of it being arriving, and I think this
- 12:08Speaker 1: is just getting started. We don't even know what is
- 12:13Speaker 1: going to ha It's like the iPhone moment. We did
- 12:15Speaker 1: not when the iPhone hit the market for the very
- 12:17Speaker 1: first time. We did not know or unreally completely realize
- 12:22Speaker 1: what kind of ecosystem it would carry with it and
- 12:24Speaker 1: where and what it's doing today now one of the
- 12:27Speaker 1: biggest ecosystems in the world. I want to go to
- 12:30Speaker 1: a clip real quick, because this is totally talking about
- 12:32Speaker 1: why people would buy this in the first place. Take
- 12:34Speaker 1: a look.
- 12:35Speaker 3: So there's people that are like so plugged into the
- 12:38Speaker 3: iPhone ecosystem that they can't switch. But you can get
- 12:42Speaker 3: a second device that could be your NFT cryptophone, and
- 12:45Speaker 3: you should have separation between those two because one is financial,
- 12:49Speaker 3: one is not. But a large part of the world
- 12:51Speaker 3: is not stuck in iPhone land and eighty percent of
- 12:55Speaker 3: the mobile sales actually are outside of the US. Like
- 12:58Speaker 3: I think if we if you wait too long, Apple
- 13:01Speaker 3: and Google will eventually add crypt of support, because I
- 13:04Speaker 3: think kind of crypto adoption is inevitable. But until they
- 13:07Speaker 3: added natively, it's an opportunity to kind of create a
- 13:10Speaker 3: bunch Right now seekers at like about one hundred and
- 13:14Speaker 3: fifty thousand pre orders, and that's very like it's a
- 13:17Speaker 3: sizable developer ecosystem. But if it gets to like a
- 13:21Speaker 3: million plus, then I think it's long term sustainable and
- 13:26Speaker 3: then it would be hard to actually disrupt that.
- 13:31Speaker 1: All right, So two things he says there that are
- 13:34Speaker 1: very important. One, of course, he's talking about the iPhone ecosystem.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I agree with him to a certain extent. The second
- 13:42Speaker 1: phone thing, I think a lot of people are starting
- 13:43Speaker 1: to do that now. However, the one thing that could
- 13:46Speaker 1: save Apple, and I believe Apple is on its you know,
- 13:50Speaker 1: dead men walking phase, is if they did flip on
- 13:53Speaker 1: the switch for crypto, if they truly embraced digital assets,
- 13:57Speaker 1: NFT and web three, that could change Apple in general.
- 14:03Speaker 1: It also could help adopt Apple globally because the crypto
- 14:07Speaker 1: universe is so much bigger than the United States. But
- 14:09Speaker 1: at the same time, when you look at yes, what
- 14:12Speaker 1: totally said is the iPhone ecosystem outside the US very small.
- 14:16Speaker 1: But think about the amount of money that funnels through
- 14:20Speaker 1: these iPhones in the US largest trade market. Why Trump
- 14:23Speaker 1: setting over here with all these big tariff winds, because
- 14:26Speaker 1: everybody wants to hit the US market. It's where all
- 14:29Speaker 1: of the money is being generated from. That would be
- 14:31Speaker 1: the only challenge. Solana has one big thing they've got
- 14:35Speaker 1: to do. They got to get to a million sales.
- 14:37Speaker 1: That's the thing. Now. The way they can do that
- 14:40Speaker 1: is maybe through air drops. Listen to this clip and
- 14:45Speaker 1: you'll under.
- 14:45Speaker 5: See a bunch of bunk. There are a bunch of
- 14:47Speaker 5: examples on Saga where we saw a very consistent pattern.
- 14:50Speaker 5: Developer teams wanted to get the attention of Saga users.
- 14:54Speaker 5: They saw value in them, and they could trust that
- 14:57Speaker 5: they were real users with real phones, and so it
- 15:00Speaker 5: was worthwhile to them to offer things like incentives and rewards,
- 15:03Speaker 5: programs and boosts and exclusives and so a seeker. One
- 15:06Speaker 5: of the things that we're keeping alive from Saga is
- 15:10Speaker 5: that concept through what we call Secret Season. So starting
- 15:12Speaker 5: in September, there's going to be a whole bunch of
- 15:15Speaker 5: teams on a weekly basis bringing something new, something exclusive
- 15:19Speaker 5: to the DAPT Store, whether it's a totally new app
- 15:21Speaker 5: that hasn't launched anywhere else, or a set of features
- 15:25Speaker 5: or a set of rewards. We're excited to kind of
- 15:28Speaker 5: carry that traditional live and formalize it even further.
- 15:33Speaker 1: All right, So that's good. I think the fact that
- 15:36Speaker 1: we'll see more defil or more adapts being developed is
- 15:39Speaker 1: a huge thing. I just hope it does not go
- 15:42Speaker 1: the way of the operating systems that tried to challenge
- 15:46Speaker 1: you know, the powers that be, you know, in the
- 15:48Speaker 1: mid nineties and the two thousands, when you look at Linux,
- 15:51Speaker 1: a boon to many others that attempted to try to
- 15:55Speaker 1: overtake the powers. Mobile is a much bigger issue. The
- 15:59Speaker 1: key here is you've got to have something that draws
- 16:01Speaker 1: people in. This is a real shift in finance. It's
- 16:05Speaker 1: a real shift in technology. All of this. Interestingly enough,
- 16:10Speaker 1: and why I believe it's so much bigger than even
- 16:13Speaker 1: the Internet is this is the first major metal wave
- 16:17Speaker 1: that has occurred in the finance industry. We have not
- 16:20Speaker 1: seen this kind of innovation ever in the entire history
- 16:24Speaker 1: of finance. So you could look back and social and say, well,
- 16:27Speaker 1: that was kind of a cultural event mobile, yeah a
- 16:29Speaker 1: little bit, but we had mobile. Then you can go
- 16:31Speaker 1: back and say, well we had a lot in e commerce, Well, yeah,
- 16:36Speaker 1: but we didn't have the Internet. So the thing is
- 16:37Speaker 1: is that what we are facing right now, I think
- 16:40Speaker 1: is a massive shift because it applies to finance more
- 16:44Speaker 1: than anything. And we are going to be doing a
- 16:46Speaker 1: video tomorrow, so you guys stick around. If you haven't
- 16:49Speaker 1: subscribed to the Show. It's going to be all about
- 16:51Speaker 1: tariffs and a lot of new information coming in on
- 16:54Speaker 1: earnings that will surprise you in a big way. So
- 16:57Speaker 1: if you haven't subscribed to it right now, if you're
- 17:00Speaker 1: not in the Diamond Circle, make sure and get in
- 17:02Speaker 1: on that as well. It's our own private group, absolutely free.
