- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. Okay, this is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one Piece episodes six seventy nine through six point
- 0:13Speaker 1: eighty one. Dashing onto the scene the Chief of Staff
- 0:17Speaker 1: of the Revolutionary Army Sabo, the Devil's Trap a dress
- 0:21Speaker 1: Rosa extermination plan, and the five hundred million berry Man
- 0:26Speaker 1: target Uslon in these episodes. So it turns out that
- 0:35Speaker 1: there is a tool by which we can control absolutely
- 0:39Speaker 1: everybody's actions, and not only that, we can keep them
- 0:44Speaker 1: from being able to communicate from the outside world and
- 0:46Speaker 1: prevent them from being able to leave Dress Rosa. I
- 0:50Speaker 1: know I've talked a lot about Sugar being op, but
- 0:52Speaker 1: I'm starting to think that Di Flamingo might take the prize.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Welcome to spoil Me, Welcome to the show everyone. I
- 1:17Speaker 1: am Natasha. Thank you very much to Florian for commissioning
- 1:21Speaker 1: this episode. Yeah, guys, do Flamingo can do way too
- 1:27Speaker 1: much with this power. This is bonkers. I'm very much
- 1:31Speaker 1: starting to feel like Lufy has been ripped off.
- 1:35Speaker 2: I just I.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Can't help but feel like if we have got people
- 1:41Speaker 1: who with these like these composites, you know that they
- 1:46Speaker 1: have powers that are not just their their like outright power,
- 1:53Speaker 1: but they also lend them this like additional, nuanced way
- 1:58Speaker 1: of using said power.
- 2:02Speaker 2: It feels kind of like a.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Lot to me, And I guess it's possible that eventually
- 2:11Speaker 1: we're going to find out that there are additional ways
- 2:15Speaker 1: that Lofy can use his power that he hasn't figured
- 2:19Speaker 1: out himself yet. But I just feel like it's a
- 2:23Speaker 1: little bit late in the game to try and introduce
- 2:27Speaker 1: something new for him. And I don't know, maybe I'm wrong,
- 2:32Speaker 1: Maybe it's going to maybe once, like if it happens,
- 2:36Speaker 1: I'll be like, no, you know what, that works. But
- 2:38Speaker 1: from where I'm sitting right now, it does just sort
- 2:41Speaker 1: of feel a little bit like how comes so many
- 2:45Speaker 1: other people who eat devil fruits manage to get these
- 2:50Speaker 1: like extremely versatile skill sets that extend in all these directions.
- 2:56Speaker 1: And I have to assume that, you know, speaking literally,
- 3:00Speaker 1: A lot of that just has to do with the
- 3:03Speaker 1: fact that when Odo was first writing this story, maybe
- 3:07Speaker 1: he didn't have like a clear idea of how he
- 3:10Speaker 1: wanted devil fruits to work, and once he began to
- 3:14Speaker 1: like zero in on more powers later on, he started
- 3:19Speaker 1: to be like, it wouldn't it be interesting if or
- 3:23Speaker 1: you know, maybe like it might have been just that
- 3:25Speaker 1: he didn't fully think through the ways that certain things.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Could be used.
- 3:31Speaker 1: And maybe that means that we've missed the boat for
- 3:35Speaker 1: giving Loufy additional powers. Maybe it means that, like now
- 3:39Speaker 1: it's sort of resulting in some changes coming up. But
- 3:45Speaker 1: it just does feel like he got kind of uh
- 3:51Speaker 1: overlooked just being able to turn into rubber. Most of
- 3:56Speaker 1: the ways that Lufy makes up for that is by
- 3:59Speaker 1: using hockey and the rubber power. I guess, like gears
- 4:06Speaker 1: two and three are supposed to be like an additional
- 4:13Speaker 1: skill set with the rubber fruit, Like, we haven't seen
- 4:17Speaker 1: him use those in a while now that I think
- 4:19Speaker 1: about it, he really does use hockey more than anything.
- 4:23Speaker 1: But you know, I don't know, maybe I'm just getting
- 4:25Speaker 1: hung up on it, but I just I found the
- 4:28Speaker 1: variety of ways that do Flamingo can use his ability
- 4:33Speaker 1: here to be a little overwhelming once you realize like
- 4:37Speaker 1: how intense they.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Are, because they are so perfectly.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Synced up to control a large group of people. You know,
- 4:50Speaker 1: it just feels like somebody sat down and thought through
- 4:54Speaker 1: how do you control the populace? And then they made
- 4:57Speaker 1: all of the powers around that, and then dofl Mingo
- 5:01Speaker 1: found them. Florian says, what would be an upgrade for
- 5:06Speaker 1: Lufy's powers? That's an interesting question, Like, you know, it's
- 5:11Speaker 1: difficult to say because if you're rubber, like you know,
- 5:17Speaker 1: there are so many ways in which we use rubber,
- 5:20Speaker 1: But it would require him being able to like manage
- 5:24Speaker 1: his body in a much more I think that's like
- 5:27Speaker 1: kind of the answer is that if he were able
- 5:31Speaker 1: to micromanage his body, so to speak, if he were
- 5:35Speaker 1: able to zero in on small areas and handle just
- 5:39Speaker 1: those those areas to like change shape and whatnot, that
- 5:45Speaker 1: might be kind of helpful. For now, Lufy's sort of
- 5:49Speaker 1: a blunt force object.
- 5:51Speaker 2: You know.
- 5:51Speaker 1: He manages to blow up areas of himself, to be bigger,
- 5:55Speaker 1: to be balloonish, to be flat and catch thing. It's
- 6:00Speaker 1: he is a big picture sort of guy, and what
- 6:06Speaker 1: I keep thinking of are sort of more minute versions
- 6:10Speaker 1: of what he can currently do. But I feel like
- 6:13Speaker 1: that's just not really in character for him.
- 6:16Speaker 2: You know. Part of what I'm wondering.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Is if the way that the powers manifest ever really
- 6:21Speaker 1: has to do with like the personality of who's using them,
- 6:25Speaker 1: because I could see do Flamingo's influence if he is
- 6:29Speaker 1: just like this ambitious medalomaniac type, if you know, his
- 6:34Speaker 1: power sort of adept, or if he discovers ways to
- 6:37Speaker 1: use them that hadn't been discovered before just because of
- 6:40Speaker 1: who he is and what his priorities are. And same
- 6:44Speaker 1: thing with Lufy somebody else. The devil fruit power for
- 6:46Speaker 1: rubber might have a whole other version of use for
- 6:50Speaker 1: this ability, you know. Florian says, like a mister fantastic
- 6:56Speaker 1: and probably yeah, I don't have a lot of familiarity
- 7:00Speaker 1: with mister fantastic, but that is sort of what I'm thinking.
- 7:02Speaker 2: I think so.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Yes, Seraphim says, most devil fruits have some insane ways
- 7:08Speaker 1: to use them if you're clever enough. The fruits that
- 7:10Speaker 1: are just straight up unfairly busted for how much you
- 7:13Speaker 1: can do are mostly just laws fruit, which is flat
- 7:15Speaker 1: out called the op op fruit. Oh I never noticed.
- 7:18Speaker 2: It's the op op overpower over power fruit.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Oh my god, Saraphim, however, I never put that together.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I said too a few episodes ago that do Flamingo
- 7:30Speaker 1: called it the opopi fruit, which I thought was weird
- 7:33Speaker 1: because I thought it was the op op fruit. And
- 7:35Speaker 1: I never, like I said out loud that he calls
- 7:39Speaker 1: it that, and I never made that connection even so, Wow,
- 7:42Speaker 1: ye girl can be so very dense and sugars, which
- 7:46Speaker 1: yet that one is ridiculous. Is seraphim He uses gear
- 7:49Speaker 1: to pretty often. It's just reached a point he can
- 7:51Speaker 1: go in and out of it so fast he doesn't
- 7:53Speaker 1: bother calling it out every time. Oh okay, Sara says,
- 8:00Speaker 1: I'm thinking plastic Man, the DC hero, so op Batman's
- 8:04Speaker 1: contingency plan for him is just a list of ways
- 8:07Speaker 1: to try and slow him down, because not even Batman
- 8:10Speaker 1: can think of a way to permanently take him out.
- 8:12Speaker 1: I haven't heard about plastic Man. That's interesting. That'd be
- 8:16Speaker 1: kind of a fun uh. I always like the idea
- 8:18Speaker 1: of taking the villains that are sort of overlooked and
- 8:21Speaker 1: like bonkers to use in movies because we're so used
- 8:25Speaker 1: to the usual suspects all the time, you know, okay.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Ser Fran says, for laws, fruit in Japanese is the
- 8:33Speaker 1: op opi no me, which is pronounced op Florian says,
- 8:37Speaker 1: there's also a last girl from the Incredibles. There's some
- 8:39Speaker 1: rubber powers out there. Yeah, that's true, And like you know,
- 8:47Speaker 1: going for Gears two and three, it felt like he
- 8:49Speaker 1: incorporated heat to make pressure in such a way that
- 8:55Speaker 1: I don't really know how that works as well. So
- 8:58Speaker 1: when I'm trying to like rainstorm ways to power him
- 9:02Speaker 1: up in a way, I think that I'm limiting myself
- 9:07Speaker 1: to just things that you could use rubber for, and
- 9:10Speaker 1: I'm not incorporating additional aspects like heat, because I feel
- 9:16Speaker 1: like it's sort of unclear to me how he does that.
- 9:20Speaker 1: And if that's something that he can do, then what
- 9:23Speaker 1: else could he incorporate that would alter the rubber Because
- 9:27Speaker 1: that's sort of like it's the rubber is the material
- 9:32Speaker 1: that he's made out of that he is taking advantage of,
- 9:35Speaker 1: but bringing another element to it to make that rubber
- 9:38Speaker 1: behave a certain way.
- 9:41Speaker 2: That's that additional element.
- 9:45Speaker 1: I don't really know where the ceiling is on that,
- 9:48Speaker 1: if that makes sense.
- 9:50Speaker 2: So I don't know.
- 9:53Speaker 1: But okay, so let's start off with the chief of
- 9:58Speaker 1: the Revolutionary Sabo Revolutionary Army. I would like to report
- 10:06Speaker 1: back that Sabo isn't really hot. I thought he was
- 10:09Speaker 1: hot from that that profile that we got that one time,
- 10:13Speaker 1: but that was just sort of his badass superhero moment,
- 10:16Speaker 1: and it.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Is not what I was hoping.
- 10:21Speaker 1: That is by no means denigrating him, because he is
- 10:24Speaker 1: also meant to be somewhat young. But we have this
- 10:29Speaker 1: this like, you know, him getting out of there with
- 10:32Speaker 1: his flame flame fruit powers, and then we jump over
- 10:37Speaker 1: once again to Oosup telling all of these guys who
- 10:40Speaker 1: have just been released from their slavery to attack the
- 10:45Speaker 1: factory behind him. And it's so strange because the way
- 10:53Speaker 1: that things work, everybody here is like worshiping Sabo about
- 11:00Speaker 1: Oosop and cheering for him, and they are willing to
- 11:04Speaker 1: just like carry out his wishes immediately, but.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Later on.
- 11:11Speaker 1: People really turn on him very quickly. And I can't
- 11:17Speaker 1: decide how much this rings true. I think it rings
- 11:24Speaker 1: somewhat true, just because such a huge population of the
- 11:28Speaker 1: people that were just turned back to humans are pirates,
- 11:33Speaker 1: and so a lot of like, despite you guys know that,
- 11:37Speaker 1: like at the start of the show, I had a
- 11:39Speaker 1: real issue with the fact that like pirates just seemed
- 11:41Speaker 1: to mean whatever at the time, because our guys are pirates,
- 11:44Speaker 1: and so a lot of people SiGe eye them, but
- 11:46Speaker 1: they don't think that word means the same that other
- 11:48Speaker 1: people think it means. And in this context here for
- 11:52Speaker 1: this episode, it's very clearly like the way that they
- 11:59Speaker 1: that pirates are being portrayed other than our straw hats
- 12:02Speaker 1: is all of them have probably like some lower intelligence
- 12:09Speaker 1: and also are greedier and like lacking in morals, and
- 12:18Speaker 1: they so like to a point, I can see them
- 12:21Speaker 1: just immediately being like, yeah, let's go after this guy,
- 12:25Speaker 1: especially when it seems like they are on complete lockdown
- 12:29Speaker 1: and Do Flamingo has so much power over them and
- 12:33Speaker 1: what they can do. On the other hand, it is
- 12:38Speaker 1: difficult for me to comprehend believing that Do Flamingo is
- 12:44Speaker 1: going to give you the payout that he has promised
- 12:49Speaker 1: after you have been so thoroughly duped that you were
- 12:52Speaker 1: enslaved and people's memories were wiped for decades.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Like how are you really? Are you really?
- 13:02Speaker 1: But the problem that I have when I ask this
- 13:04Speaker 1: question is that Trump got elected two times, and if
- 13:10Speaker 1: we've learned anything, it's that people do not learn anything. Unfortunately,
- 13:18Speaker 1: the lesson to take away is that we don't take
- 13:20Speaker 1: away a lesson, and maybe people are going to be
- 13:24Speaker 1: that fucking stupid. Maybe they are going to fall for it.
- 13:27Speaker 1: You know, I just like it really is that there
- 13:32Speaker 1: are so many things like this, you guys, in fiction
- 13:35Speaker 1: that I run up against and I start to call
- 13:37Speaker 1: it a plot hole, and then I have to look
- 13:39Speaker 1: at our reality and I have to admit this isn't
- 13:44Speaker 1: a plot hole. This is human nature, which is very,
- 13:49Speaker 1: very dumb. And so I'm going to cop to that
- 13:53Speaker 1: and say, like, I think, probably this is legit, you guys. Look,
- 13:59Speaker 1: I'm gonna do this small aside. I know a lot
- 14:01Speaker 1: of people listen to this show for escapism and whatnot,
- 14:04Speaker 1: and certain times there's no avoiding that the themes within
- 14:08Speaker 1: an episode are going to get kind of heavy. This
- 14:11Speaker 1: is not really the episode where that feels relevant to
- 14:16Speaker 1: the plot of what I'm covering. But it is January
- 14:21Speaker 1: twenty eighth, twenty twenty four. Trump has been in office
- 14:24Speaker 1: for eight days, and the sheer number of executive orders
- 14:28Speaker 1: that have been passed or are being passed or presented
- 14:33Speaker 1: that are radically fundamentally changing the landscape of living. For like,
- 14:40Speaker 1: the average American is so out of control that I
- 14:45Speaker 1: could I don't even know where to start, but I
- 14:49Speaker 1: feel like I have enough of a little platform that
- 14:52Speaker 1: I have to do something. And so every now and then,
- 14:57Speaker 1: I'm just going to drop something that I think people
- 14:59Speaker 1: should like check out or look into. My recommendation as
- 15:05Speaker 1: of right now. And this is something that I have
- 15:07Speaker 1: talked about with Miles on the show. That I do
- 15:09Speaker 1: with him for Miss Born is don't try to like
- 15:14Speaker 1: learn about everything at once or comprehend everything at once,
- 15:18Speaker 1: because part of the strategy here, I believe, is purposely
- 15:23Speaker 1: to make us feel so overwhelmed that we shut down
- 15:25Speaker 1: and don't participate, which is very effective.
- 15:30Speaker 2: It works.
- 15:30Speaker 1: I certainly was like teetering on that. I won't lie
- 15:35Speaker 1: find one particular cause that, for you is something you
- 15:41Speaker 1: feel really passionately about, and zero in on just what's
- 15:46Speaker 1: going on with that, and if that's still too big,
- 15:49Speaker 1: zero in on just going on with that within your
- 15:51Speaker 1: state or even your county, and try to do something
- 15:56Speaker 1: on that level. For me, it's abortion rights. I really
- 16:00Speaker 1: feel like all of our qualities of life begins with
- 16:05Speaker 1: whether or not we have control over our own bodies
- 16:08Speaker 1: and if we have the resources to raise children safely, and.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Just like everything.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Starts there to me, So for me, abortion rights is
- 16:18Speaker 1: a major major issue. And I have been subscribed to
- 16:22Speaker 1: the substack for Jessica Valenti called Abortion every Day, and
- 16:26Speaker 1: it is a daily but also she does do like
- 16:29Speaker 1: a weekly like rundown of news that is coming out,
- 16:34Speaker 1: and it's like, as you can imagine, recently been absolutely
- 16:38Speaker 1: bonkers and saying stuff, and there has been like, uh,
- 16:43Speaker 1: they have changed up the laws regarding harassment of patients
- 16:47Speaker 1: outside of clinics to make it easier for people to
- 16:50Speaker 1: not only harass and physically intimidate patients, but also to
- 16:54Speaker 1: sue the patients if the person harassing them is injured.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Lots of things in this arena to just sort of
- 17:01Speaker 1: open the door to intimidation tactics. And that's like setting
- 17:09Speaker 1: aside all of the restrictions regarding getting any sort of
- 17:15Speaker 1: abortion when there is a problem with the fetus itself
- 17:18Speaker 1: being viable or the mother's life being at risk, which
- 17:21Speaker 1: is resulting in a lot of women dying from sepsis
- 17:23Speaker 1: because they are the doctors are afraid of getting their
- 17:28Speaker 1: licenses taken away if they go into early before it's
- 17:32Speaker 1: really considered a danger to her life. And this, especially
- 17:35Speaker 1: in Texas, has been a ballooning issue. So I recommend
- 17:39Speaker 1: today go sign up for the sub stack. Abortion every
- 17:43Speaker 1: Day by Jessica Valenti. It is extremely well broken down.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Everything that she shares is linked to a source directly,
- 17:54Speaker 1: and it is just she does so much work to
- 17:58Speaker 1: make the information organized and accessible and update as things
- 18:04Speaker 1: change on any given bill that I find it just indispensable.
- 18:10Speaker 1: So that's my recommendation for today. Abortion every Day by
- 18:14Speaker 1: Jessica VILENTI just have to find some way to push
- 18:19Speaker 1: back guys because they have just cut off all I
- 18:24Speaker 1: think it's all Medicaid or Medicare. I think it's medicaid
- 18:29Speaker 1: in Illinois. There is like they are not able to
- 18:33Speaker 1: access it, and so this is allegedly going to last
- 18:37Speaker 1: for several months. We're talking like four million people who
- 18:41Speaker 1: suddenly who are low income, elderly, pregnant children who have
- 18:47Speaker 1: no access to healthcare because of some changes that are
- 18:49Speaker 1: being made there. And the reasoning behind this was to
- 18:56Speaker 1: weed out wokeness. Was the the unbelievable remark about the
- 19:05Speaker 1: reason why we have to like change up our healthcare system.
- 19:11Speaker 1: So that's my soapbox for today, is just that stay
- 19:17Speaker 1: aware and informed selectively.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Or you will break your brain. It will be too much.
- 19:23Speaker 2: I promise you.
- 19:26Speaker 1: There is enough for you to zero in on one thing.
- 19:30Speaker 1: There's lots of people, and if we all just sort
- 19:31Speaker 1: of pick a cause, I think we will manage a
- 19:35Speaker 1: lot better and maybe despair will not overtake us so easily.
- 19:40Speaker 1: And if you are somebody listening to this who voted
- 19:42Speaker 1: for Trump, fuck off and don't listen to this show.
- 19:44Speaker 1: I don't like you and I don't want you here.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Goodbye.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Okay, good glad we got that straightened out. So this
- 19:53Speaker 1: attack on the factory, it's really kind of funny because
- 19:56Speaker 1: Treble is literally just standing there at first, like hey,
- 20:00Speaker 1: stay away from there, and he doesn't make a move
- 20:02Speaker 1: to defend it or anything, but he's just like all right.
- 20:07Speaker 1: He goes and gets Sugar, who is still passed out.
- 20:10Speaker 1: I'm sort of assuming she wakes up again. It's still
- 20:13Speaker 1: like everybody stays as a toy, right, It's just that
- 20:16Speaker 1: once she puts them, if she were to wake up
- 20:19Speaker 1: and make somebody a toy again, then she would have
- 20:22Speaker 1: to be knocked out yet again. So this is just
- 20:24Speaker 1: like gonna be a Hopefully she's knocked out for the
- 20:28Speaker 1: duration of this fight, because if she comes to again,
- 20:32Speaker 1: she is able to just like turn people so easily.
- 20:35Speaker 1: It's just the tap of a hand, and it is
- 20:40Speaker 1: I that's the part that I think is the most
- 20:43Speaker 1: alarming is how effortless this power seems to be. So
- 20:50Speaker 1: I just really don't want her involved in things at all.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I really want her to be like sidelined the way
- 20:58Speaker 1: that Lufy is off in sidelined for the of big fights.
- 21:01Speaker 2: And I also, you know, you.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Guys I said before about how Luthy being involved in
- 21:07Speaker 1: this arena fight, it was him being sidelined, and it
- 21:09Speaker 1: has been nice that he got out of that fight
- 21:12Speaker 1: with some time to spare. Like granted, by the time
- 21:15Speaker 1: he got out of it, there was like what two
- 21:16Speaker 1: episodes left of fighting in the arena before it was over,
- 21:20Speaker 1: but still it was just a.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Better way to sideline him.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Like, as much as I didn't really enjoy the whole
- 21:27Speaker 1: arena storyline, I will say that it felt more interesting
- 21:34Speaker 1: than just having him like stuck between two buildings, just
- 21:40Speaker 1: as for.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Example, I'll just say that.
- 21:47Speaker 1: So this uh like trouble gets involved with fighting back
- 21:54Speaker 1: against these guys and he uses like the way that
- 21:58Speaker 1: he uses his power is so weird because it's like
- 22:01Speaker 1: a long streamer of glue and he grips everybody up
- 22:07Speaker 1: and in this one long strand of it and then
- 22:11Speaker 1: like whips the whole thing filled with bodies around like
- 22:14Speaker 1: a banner, like a big CVS receipt. And it's just
- 22:19Speaker 1: really interesting because his ability is so it's very gross,
- 22:23Speaker 1: as we know, but it does kind of lend itself
- 22:27Speaker 1: to some weird visuals that I can't help but enjoy
- 22:32Speaker 1: a little bit.
- 22:35Speaker 2: So then we have.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Uh Koala, Sabo and Rebecca and they have just met
- 22:45Speaker 1: up helped me out with the name of this fish
- 22:48Speaker 1: man guys, it's the I can't remember his name. He
- 22:52Speaker 1: has this like weird preoccupation about hiding the injury to
- 22:57Speaker 1: his hand that he sustained, and I don't remember if
- 23:00Speaker 1: it's that Rebecca injured him and so he's embarrassed about
- 23:04Speaker 1: that or what it is.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Oh, his name is Hack.
- 23:06Speaker 1: I saw that word on the back of his shirt.
- 23:09Speaker 1: But usually, like what's written on people's shirts has nothing
- 23:13Speaker 1: to do with them as a character, so I was
- 23:14Speaker 1: not expecting that to be even relevant at all.
- 23:18Speaker 2: But okay, cool, and.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Yeah, this guy, the way that he behaves with Kowala,
- 23:28Speaker 1: there's a familiarity there, so clearly these guys are somewhat buds.
- 23:34Speaker 1: He broke his hand trying to punch Bartow's barrier. Oh bartelameo,
- 23:41Speaker 1: you guys. I know that I go off a little
- 23:45Speaker 1: bit too much about how much I love him every episode,
- 23:47Speaker 1: but I'm just gonna go ahead and do it again,
- 23:49Speaker 1: because frankly, that guy is so great. What a fun character,
- 23:54Speaker 1: everything about his goofy self, it's wonderful. The way he
- 23:59Speaker 1: reacts when he meets Robin and then puts together once
- 24:04Speaker 1: he's looking at us Up. His first response to seeing
- 24:09Speaker 1: him is just who's this guy? What the hell does
- 24:12Speaker 1: he have to do with anything? It's very much like,
- 24:15Speaker 1: you know, like you don't even go here kind of energy.
- 24:19Speaker 2: And then he.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Stops and he thinks about Sooga King and the poster,
- 24:25Speaker 1: and he transposes how this guy looks and his long
- 24:29Speaker 1: nose Tosabo and realizes that's who this is, and the
- 24:33Speaker 1: way he absolutely loses his shit. I it didn't occur
- 24:38Speaker 1: to me that Usup's real face isn't on any of
- 24:42Speaker 1: these posters. Even now. Now I'm assuming that will change
- 24:46Speaker 1: because we have obviously do Flamingo blowing his entire spot
- 24:50Speaker 1: up at the end of these episodes, so I have
- 24:52Speaker 1: to assume that now we've got us up proper on
- 24:56Speaker 1: our posters, like from here on out. But yeah, I
- 25:01Speaker 1: really really enjoy that he was. It's especially funny that
- 25:06Speaker 1: Bartolomeo does this so easily because I think Loofy and
- 25:11Speaker 1: Chopper both still don't know what's like that Oosap is
- 25:19Speaker 1: Soga Kings or Soja King, sniper King whatever. I don't
- 25:24Speaker 1: think that either of them have put it together because
- 25:25Speaker 1: they are both like incredibly gullible individuals. I you know what, guys,
- 25:34Speaker 1: I'm just realizing, where are Chopper and Nami and all
- 25:42Speaker 1: of them?
- 25:43Speaker 2: What are they up to right now?
- 25:44Speaker 1: We haven't seen them in a long time because they
- 25:48Speaker 1: were like over by the island when do Flamingo like
- 25:54Speaker 1: starts to attack them and then Sanji interferes and Sonji
- 25:59Speaker 1: heads back toward them. But like, we haven't checked in
- 26:04Speaker 1: with any of them for now. It's got to be
- 26:06Speaker 1: at least like three episodes of coverage, so like almost
- 26:11Speaker 1: ten episodes of the show. I think I'm I may
- 26:15Speaker 1: be off by like by a bit. But Florence says
- 26:21Speaker 1: they went off to the next island Zoo Zoo. But
- 26:24Speaker 1: the big mom showed up and we haven't heard anything.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Oh right, I remember now that we saw that huge
- 26:30Speaker 1: ship as they were like right, right, right, okay, huh,
- 26:34Speaker 1: all right, well they have been really just kind of
- 26:38Speaker 1: shoved off to the side and back burnered.
- 26:40Speaker 2: But what can you do?
- 26:43Speaker 1: So then we have the the the moment with the
- 26:50Speaker 1: Wika and the Samurai where they get attacked because these
- 26:55Speaker 1: dudes who are angry at Do Flamingo see him in
- 26:59Speaker 1: his very disguise and they think he's him, so they
- 27:05Speaker 1: come at him. And it takes a moment for them
- 27:09Speaker 1: to understand why everybody's turning against him, because they're like,
- 27:13Speaker 1: supposedly this is meant to be like Do Flamingo's stronghold,
- 27:18Speaker 1: so why are his people coming at him in this fashion?
- 27:22Speaker 1: And Wicka realizes, oh my god, they must be against him,
- 27:27Speaker 1: which means that our plan has worked out. We succeeded.
- 27:31Speaker 1: And it's very cute. She gets so excited and he
- 27:35Speaker 1: takes off his disguise and I appreciate Also, I just
- 27:38Speaker 1: want to mention, like, you know, my feelings on the
- 27:42Speaker 1: Samurai have been very uh mid Sometimes he's been fun.
- 27:48Speaker 1: A lot of times I've kind of been like eh,
- 27:50Speaker 1: But I will say that him and Wicka together I
- 27:54Speaker 1: really like because she is so much more direct that
- 27:58Speaker 1: it's a really nice foil to the way he tends
- 28:00Speaker 1: to behave. And I like that he's listening to her
- 28:05Speaker 1: because we had that whole thing earlier where she was
- 28:07Speaker 1: trying to explain something to him and he was not
- 28:11Speaker 1: tuning in at all, thinking that he was protecting her,
- 28:14Speaker 1: you know, but it was still very frustrating because they
- 28:17Speaker 1: wound up in situations that they could have avoided. And
- 28:20Speaker 1: here it I'm maybe overstating it, but it seems as
- 28:25Speaker 1: if he has learned his lesson a little bit and
- 28:29Speaker 1: is prioritizing listening to what she says now, which is
- 28:33Speaker 1: refreshing considering how one of our major characters never ever
- 28:39Speaker 1: seems to learn from anything that he does wrong ever,
- 28:44Speaker 1: So you know, that's nice. So that's like, that's most
- 28:50Speaker 1: of this first of the three episodes, and we jump
- 28:55Speaker 1: back into the fight between uh because like we knew
- 29:00Speaker 1: that Do Flamingo wasn't actually dead and he, it turns out,
- 29:06Speaker 1: is like going to make he he makes like a
- 29:10Speaker 1: model of himself out of threads. Look, that's that's a
- 29:19Speaker 1: that's a bit much. It would be one thing if
- 29:24Speaker 1: he could make a body double out of threads that
- 29:28Speaker 1: looked like a figure made of threads that could also.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Like fight.
- 29:35Speaker 1: It looks like this thing doesn't really move, but it
- 29:39Speaker 1: does take on the colors of and like, so it
- 29:43Speaker 1: looks very, very realistic, this depiction that he has made.
- 29:50Speaker 1: I just think that's a bit too far. Already, with
- 29:55Speaker 1: the other ways that his ability could be used, it
- 29:57Speaker 1: was feeling kind of far, but I was going with it.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Once we get to.
- 30:01Speaker 1: That, that's really when I started to be like, okay,
- 30:05Speaker 1: enough already, you know, like the what at first I
- 30:11Speaker 1: had thought when you see this like weird figure, was like,
- 30:13Speaker 1: does he trap people like spider silk? You know for
- 30:18Speaker 1: a second, because you don't fully see what's happening there.
- 30:21Speaker 1: And No, it turns out that this is just like
- 30:24Speaker 1: him creating a second version of himself that can be
- 30:29Speaker 1: beheaded and nothing happens. It's just a funny little gag surprise. Meanwhile, No,
- 30:40Speaker 1: it can move.
- 30:41Speaker 2: It speaks. I forgot about this.
- 30:43Speaker 1: It's mouth moves and it speaks. This guy. I'm trying
- 30:52Speaker 1: to make sure that I don't miss anything that he
- 30:54Speaker 1: says here, because he's talking about how like the country
- 30:57Speaker 1: is going to be spiraling to chaos, now that he
- 30:59Speaker 1: realizes that the toys have been freed and we have
- 31:04Speaker 1: members of the Revolutionary Army nosing around two which I
- 31:08Speaker 1: don't know how he found that out. Somebody must have
- 31:11Speaker 1: reported him about Sabo, but yeah, this uh weird. The
- 31:19Speaker 1: way that this goes is that he tells Law, I'm
- 31:24Speaker 1: gonna have to use the bird cage. Law knows exactly
- 31:29Speaker 1: what this means and looks really really distressed.
- 31:33Speaker 2: And do Flamingo.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Basically like kicks everybody out of the palace by using
- 31:45Speaker 1: this uh pika, his weird stone man, stone fruit power whatever.
- 31:55Speaker 1: I'm assuming that the reason behind this, because I'll be honest,
- 32:01Speaker 1: this was sort of a weird one to me. But
- 32:04Speaker 1: because like you know, you've got all of the guys
- 32:07Speaker 1: that you're trying to deal with in your hands.
- 32:10Speaker 2: They're right in front of you.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Why wouldn't you just handle them here? But I think
- 32:17Speaker 1: that it's supposed to be I'm not able to like
- 32:21Speaker 1: to take on all of them at once, so I'm
- 32:24Speaker 1: going to get them away from me so that they
- 32:27Speaker 1: can't jump me, and then I'm going to sick all
- 32:30Speaker 1: the other folks on them so that they will take
- 32:32Speaker 1: care of these guys on my behalf, which really isn't
- 32:36Speaker 1: a bad plan, But I also do enjoy that it
- 32:39Speaker 1: kind of displays that he is intimidated.
- 32:44Speaker 2: You know.
- 32:44Speaker 1: This to me signals that, like he is afraid of
- 32:47Speaker 1: what they could do because they have some real power.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Evidently.
- 32:53Speaker 1: I like that anytime that a baddie who's got a
- 32:56Speaker 1: lot of power has any concerns about dealing with straw hats,
- 33:00Speaker 1: I feel like that's a bit of a battle one already.
- 33:07Speaker 1: So Pica knocks them all out of the castle and
- 33:11Speaker 1: they go flying and the I think the key that
- 33:16Speaker 1: falls is supposed to be the key to the the
- 33:21Speaker 1: what do you call it? The factory? If I'm not mistaken,
- 33:26Speaker 1: it's like kind of a weird The way that it's
- 33:30Speaker 1: talked about is like the there's no getting in there
- 33:35Speaker 1: without it. But I don't know why there's only the one.
- 33:41Speaker 1: It's the key to Las Shackles, says Sara FM. Okay,
- 33:45Speaker 1: there's a mention from somebody who is at the the
- 33:51Speaker 1: Smile Factory. Later, thank goodness, we're locked in here, I think,
- 33:56Speaker 1: is what the guy says. So I think that's what
- 33:57Speaker 1: I'm getting confused with. And they also mentioned that the
- 34:00Speaker 1: like dome that covers the factory is made out of
- 34:03Speaker 1: ceprism stone, so it's basically unbreakable. As much as it
- 34:07Speaker 1: looks like it will shatter really really easily, that is
- 34:10Speaker 1: not how it would work. Sorry, and okay, so last shackles.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I love it. At some point, like I think Lufy
- 34:20Speaker 1: says to him like they'll fall off eventually, like just
- 34:24Speaker 1: leave them, and he has to scream at him that
- 34:26Speaker 1: is not how this works. The idea that they'll just
- 34:30Speaker 1: eventually fall off is so fucking hilarious, Like do you
- 34:36Speaker 1: what do you think he sluffs them off like they're
- 34:39Speaker 1: just what like a dead.
- 34:42Speaker 2: Skin or what do you mean?
- 34:49Speaker 1: Okay, the factory is also lucked, but that's a different
- 34:51Speaker 1: thing since sarahrom okay, cool. So this uh the way
- 35:00Speaker 1: that do Flamingo handles everybody on dress Rosa. Initially, I
- 35:08Speaker 1: understand why he does it the way that he does.
- 35:11Speaker 1: He has to demonstrate his power and really emphasize to
- 35:16Speaker 1: everybody that they are under his control so utterly. So
- 35:23Speaker 1: I want to make it clear that I get why
- 35:26Speaker 1: he's doing this, but I will say I think it
- 35:32Speaker 1: was a mistake to do it this way because it
- 35:36Speaker 1: seems like he's really shown his hand in regards to
- 35:42Speaker 1: the way he influenced and controlled the King Riku. It's
- 35:47Speaker 1: like as soon as people begin to experience this, they
- 35:50Speaker 1: instantly recognize, oh my god, this is what must have
- 35:54Speaker 1: happened to him, this is what happened to Ricu that time.
- 35:57Speaker 1: He didn't want to be going after, he didn't mean
- 36:01Speaker 1: to do. Flamingo was making him do this, which I
- 36:06Speaker 1: feel like as soon as you let that cat out
- 36:11Speaker 1: of the bag and let everybody know that this was
- 36:14Speaker 1: like a control tactic. And also he puts up on
- 36:19Speaker 1: the billboard that like, Riku is one of the targets
- 36:23Speaker 1: that they should attack, so letting everybody know Riku.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Is still alive.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Also when apparently a lot of people thought that he
- 36:30Speaker 1: was still dead. I feel like what dolfl Mingo has
- 36:35Speaker 1: done is just completely let the cat out of the
- 36:39Speaker 1: bag on every single deceit that he has done. And
- 36:46Speaker 1: I feel like you got if you are wanting people
- 36:50Speaker 1: to stay within your control at all after you reach
- 36:55Speaker 1: a certain point, because like right now, he's just using
- 36:58Speaker 1: the fear tactic of the bird case and attacking each
- 37:01Speaker 1: other with his power, like he's using that to keep
- 37:04Speaker 1: everybody in line and that is all well and good
- 37:08Speaker 1: and as long as it can be sustained, as long
- 37:11Speaker 1: as it lasts. But I feel like there's not going
- 37:18Speaker 1: to be a single person on this island who doesn't
- 37:22Speaker 1: want you taken out. Once things like kind of calm
- 37:25Speaker 1: down for a moment, and I, oh my god, Florence
- 37:30Speaker 1: is the unraveling of Dophie.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Get it. I hate you so much?
- 37:40Speaker 1: But yeah, so I just I think that he really,
- 37:44Speaker 1: really like lets too much be revealed, and it's probably
- 37:49Speaker 1: going to wind up being.
- 37:51Speaker 2: A bit of a problem for him.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Maybe not, you know, maybe I'm overestimating it, but I
- 37:55Speaker 1: just it would be one thing if you just let people.
- 37:59Speaker 2: Know that, like somebody was still alive.
- 38:01Speaker 1: It would be one thing if you just let people
- 38:03Speaker 1: know that, like maybe Rika wasn't in control of his
- 38:05Speaker 1: own actions. Like all of those things are a as
- 38:11Speaker 1: an individual reveal, maybe people can get past them. But
- 38:18Speaker 1: once you start to put all of those together and
- 38:21Speaker 1: they begin to see how completely they have been played,
- 38:25Speaker 1: I feel like now you're starting to get into territory
- 38:28Speaker 1: where folks aren't going to be able to like make
- 38:31Speaker 1: excuses anymore. That said, you know the way that he
- 38:35Speaker 1: sicks everybody against each other seems to be effective.
- 38:40Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 38:41Speaker 1: I mean, there's a lot of like regular townsfolk who
- 38:43Speaker 1: don't seem to be falling for it. But it's also
- 38:50Speaker 1: how many of them are there versus how many like
- 38:54Speaker 1: ne'er do well pirates are there. Will they actually be
- 38:57Speaker 1: able to stand up to these guys and then stop
- 39:01Speaker 1: them in a they're not professional fighters? What kinds of
- 39:06Speaker 1: weapons do they have? You know, all all these sorts
- 39:09Speaker 1: of questions. So I'm trying to make sure that I
- 39:16Speaker 1: don't skip anything because they just got thrown out of
- 39:18Speaker 1: the palace from where I'm watching right now. Okay, right,
- 39:23Speaker 1: so we have the bird cage being put into place,
- 39:26Speaker 1: which looks really really weird. It was so first of all,
- 39:32Speaker 1: I will acknowledge that when he says, like, I have
- 39:34Speaker 1: to do the bird cage, I was like, you know
- 39:37Speaker 1: the hit.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Nineteen ninety four film with Robin Williams. I think it
- 39:40Speaker 2: was later than that, but you.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Know, there was a very funny movie. I know now
- 39:46Speaker 1: that it really is like incredibly problematic, but at the
- 39:50Speaker 1: time it seemed so.
- 39:55Speaker 2: I don't know what, I guess.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Progressive, and now it's like so sad. But that was
- 40:02Speaker 1: what I thought of first thing, so I just wanted
- 40:04Speaker 1: to acknowledge that. But yeah, they the way that this
- 40:08Speaker 1: thing works, it's like the wires are so close together
- 40:13Speaker 1: that you can't get past them, Like it's not like
- 40:17Speaker 1: you can slide between them. And also they're very very sharp,
- 40:22Speaker 1: they're like wires, they're very like you know, it's mostly
- 40:28Speaker 1: I have been seeing what he's been doing as sort
- 40:30Speaker 1: of strings, threads, you know. The way that this scene
- 40:34Speaker 1: plays out, it took on a very different sort of
- 40:38Speaker 1: look and was like razor wire to me, because this
- 40:41Speaker 1: guy is running, he sees them, doesn't fully like comprehend
- 40:45Speaker 1: what they are, and he runs right into them and
- 40:48Speaker 1: you see all of this blood spurt in lines across
- 40:52Speaker 1: his face from where he ran into it, because it's.
- 40:54Speaker 2: That strong and that sharp.
- 40:56Speaker 1: And immediately after this, somebody else tries to fire a
- 41:00Speaker 1: cannon at it, which it just slices the cannonballs into pieces,
- 41:05Speaker 1: which is bananas. So yeah, no getting out. And then
- 41:13Speaker 1: in addition to all of this, we have the reveal
- 41:16Speaker 1: that it also interferes with like communications.
- 41:20Speaker 2: When our guys are trying to like.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Radio out, they can't get a hold of anybody because
- 41:26Speaker 1: of the bird cage interfering, which it could be magic
- 41:33Speaker 1: that you just attribute all of this too, and I
- 41:35Speaker 1: wouldn't really have a problem with that, but I will
- 41:38Speaker 1: say that I kind of feel if you just made
- 41:41Speaker 1: a big cage of wires, this is like a Faraday
- 41:44Speaker 1: cage sort of effect, right that it's opposed to interfere
- 41:47Speaker 1: with that kind of thing. So it was one of
- 41:51Speaker 1: those moments where like, once it's revealed how this works,
- 41:54Speaker 1: my immediate reaction was like, oh, yeah, that makes sense.
- 41:57Speaker 1: You know, I just sort of went with it immediately.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Liam was just yeah, I buy this.
- 42:05Speaker 1: So, yeah, lots of bad news for our guys who
- 42:08Speaker 1: are trying to communicate because the Marines are, you know,
- 42:12Speaker 1: obviously starting to turn on them. Meanwhile, the huge plateau
- 42:20Speaker 1: that the palace is on, I think they call it
- 42:24Speaker 1: just the King's Plateau is beginning to like shake really
- 42:30Speaker 1: really violently. And I was watching this like what is
- 42:34Speaker 1: it that we're doing? So Pika with his stone powers
- 42:39Speaker 1: actually can make the palace run away from the plateau.
- 42:48Speaker 1: This is hilarious, you guys. I mean just the imagery
- 42:53Speaker 1: of it like up and running away is and you know,
- 42:58Speaker 1: the smile factory is well like all of this stuff.
- 43:02Speaker 2: This is so fucking funny to me.
- 43:05Speaker 1: I love this idea that he could just basically run away,
- 43:09Speaker 1: run away with like an entire enormous stone building. Meanwhile,
- 43:16Speaker 1: as this is all happening, these guys are being controlled
- 43:19Speaker 1: with the bird cage. So it's like this like absolute
- 43:24Speaker 1: chaos of buildings like moving and collapsing in response to
- 43:28Speaker 1: the palace moving, and then people attacking each other in
- 43:32Speaker 1: the streets, and a lot of them are crying and
- 43:36Speaker 1: like begging whatever this is controlling them to stop. We've
- 43:40Speaker 1: got other buildings that are being lifted up into the
- 43:43Speaker 1: air because there's like this field that's being that's rising,
- 43:46Speaker 1: and so buildings are turning full on sideways and people
- 43:51Speaker 1: are falling out of the buildings. It's it's absolute, complete
- 43:59Speaker 1: and utter case. It's bonkers. And the one that I
- 44:04Speaker 1: think is, uh, where the palace is now? I think
- 44:09Speaker 1: is Flower Hill, if I'm not mistaken, that's where because
- 44:13Speaker 1: he basically just like he can't make the castle sit
- 44:18Speaker 1: in mid air, the stone doesn't float, but you can
- 44:21Speaker 1: make the means of getting up to the castle so
- 44:27Speaker 1: difficult that nobody would bother.
- 44:31Speaker 2: And that is the uh.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Means that it seems he has taken here where he
- 44:37Speaker 1: lifts it up onto a plateau that is so high
- 44:41Speaker 1: that the like way that you would be able to attack,
- 44:46Speaker 1: you'd have to be a mountain climber to pull this off,
- 44:50Speaker 1: which I have to agree is a pretty effective means
- 44:55Speaker 1: of getting yourself away from people. I just the idea
- 44:59Speaker 1: that you're we've all seen like Howell's moving castle type
- 45:04Speaker 1: animation you know before, It's a very different feel when
- 45:09Speaker 1: something is completely untethered to the ground. This with it
- 45:14Speaker 1: being something it feels almost like the building is wading
- 45:17Speaker 1: through the earth and it can't fully escape from the earth.
- 45:23Speaker 1: I don't know, guys, there was just something about this
- 45:25Speaker 1: that I found really really amusing to watch, and also
- 45:32Speaker 1: the idea that this could be done and all of
- 45:34Speaker 1: these people living on this island aren't aware that this
- 45:37Speaker 1: is how it can work. Is It's just they were
- 45:42Speaker 1: living in such close proximity to terrible things for so
- 45:46Speaker 1: long without ever realizing how bad it was, and now
- 45:52Speaker 1: it's all happening at once, and just how you know
- 45:55Speaker 1: what it actually is a fair comparison to just like
- 45:58Speaker 1: the first eight days of Trump's second term as president.
- 46:03Speaker 1: So then We're gonna jump into the uh, the five
- 46:09Speaker 1: hundred million barry Man target Uslon. It's so funny, you guys,
- 46:14Speaker 1: because Do Flamingo announces who he wants everybody to go
- 46:19Speaker 1: after and take down on his behalf, and he says,
- 46:25Speaker 1: there's two ways this can stop. Either you all die
- 46:29Speaker 1: out or you meet my conditions.
- 46:33Speaker 2: I love that.
- 46:34Speaker 1: It's never you kill me, that's not even on the table.
- 46:37Speaker 1: It's you guys die out. Grim So he gives his
- 46:45Speaker 1: breakdown of the people that he wants taken down. It's
- 46:50Speaker 1: a really weird system, friends, because it's it's like up
- 46:57Speaker 1: to five stars for the most dangerous person, but there's
- 47:02Speaker 1: no four star people. We get one star, two star,
- 47:05Speaker 1: three star, and five star. And the designations are very
- 47:10Speaker 1: weird in my opinion. But I'm gonna jump over to
- 47:15Speaker 1: the uh. Oh my god, I forgot about Bartolomea just
- 47:17Speaker 1: straight up saying to Robin, can I be your slave?
- 47:20Speaker 1: Bless him? M let's see twelve fools. So the following
- 47:30Speaker 1: individuals will be your ticket out. And he has a
- 47:34Speaker 1: huge screen up. Let me introduce the one stars, and
- 47:40Speaker 1: first it's Rebecca one star. That's fair for her absolutely. Secondly,
- 47:46Speaker 1: Nico Robin.
- 47:47Speaker 2: One star for her. I feel like that's low.
- 47:49Speaker 1: She's not like a fighter fighter, but she will fuck
- 47:52Speaker 1: you up, and these guys aren't ready. One star for
- 47:55Speaker 1: Keenuman the Samurai, I'm not really sure, to be honest,
- 48:00Speaker 1: whether one star is fair for him. We haven't seen
- 48:03Speaker 1: a lot of fight from him. It's been a lot
- 48:06Speaker 1: of running around and you know the I can't remember
- 48:10Speaker 1: the fight if we've seen any from him on Caesar's
- 48:14Speaker 1: Island or what. So I preserve judgment on that one.
- 48:19Speaker 1: And then Viola, former Princess of Dress Rosa, one star,
- 48:25Speaker 1: which I think is fair because she does have an
- 48:29Speaker 1: incredible power where she could like see you coming, but
- 48:31Speaker 1: she has to tune in to do that, and she
- 48:34Speaker 1: also isn't much of a fighter. But then one star
- 48:40Speaker 1: Cyborg Frankie. That is insulting. Sir Frankie just like took
- 48:50Speaker 1: on forty people at the entrance to the factory and
- 48:54Speaker 1: only just barely got laid out.
- 48:56Speaker 2: I mean, it was reason that he finally got knocked on.
- 49:00Speaker 2: This dude went hard.
- 49:02Speaker 1: Now, granted it may be a result of the fact
- 49:04Speaker 1: that he got knocked out that he's been downgraded to
- 49:06Speaker 1: one star because it's sort of like, how hard will
- 49:09Speaker 1: it be that guy has already been through it today?
- 49:11Speaker 1: But I don't think so, and I resent it, and
- 49:14Speaker 1: I just wanted to register the fact that I resent it.
- 49:18Speaker 1: And then we go on to the two Stars. First
- 49:23Speaker 1: we've got uh.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Kiros.
- 49:28Speaker 1: I feel like that's not a good call. Granted, Kiros
- 49:37Speaker 1: wasn't a gladiator when he only had one leg. He
- 49:40Speaker 1: had two when he was this incredible fighter. It's possible
- 49:46Speaker 1: that maybe now that he's only down to one leg,
- 49:51Speaker 1: that it would be like much easier to take him out.
- 49:55Speaker 1: But to be completely honest, the way that Kiros is picked,
- 50:00Speaker 1: it doesn't seem like he has been at all affected
- 50:06Speaker 1: by losing a leg. It doesn't seem to have done
- 50:09Speaker 1: anything to him.
- 50:10Speaker 2: So I don't know. Then let's see uh.
- 50:18Speaker 1: I wish that because like we see the stars and
- 50:20Speaker 1: we see the names, but I don't get these subtitles
- 50:23Speaker 1: of exactly how much money they are going to get.
- 50:26Speaker 1: So the next one is two Stars, Zoro, You're dumb? Uh?
- 50:36Speaker 2: Saraphim says.
- 50:37Speaker 1: The Stars are less a threat level and more how
- 50:39Speaker 1: much is Dophy pissed at them?
- 50:41Speaker 2: One? I think that if that is.
- 50:44Speaker 1: The case, it's still very stupid. It's very poorly thought out.
- 50:53Speaker 1: I stand by it either way, like it's badly done.
- 51:00Speaker 1: And yeah, one of the guys out there is like,
- 51:01Speaker 1: wasn't he the invincible Gladiator about Kiros? Like Violet was
- 51:07Speaker 1: Princess Viola, but she's with the family again, you guys,
- 51:11Speaker 1: all of this stuff that he's just like completely telling
- 51:14Speaker 1: people that he could have kept secret a little longer.
- 51:18Speaker 1: And now let's move on to the head, Honchos, I
- 51:21Speaker 1: present you with the three stars and Chief of Staff
- 51:26Speaker 1: of the Revolutionary Army Sabo. And I mean now that
- 51:32Speaker 1: he has a flame flame fruit that seems fair, but
- 51:34Speaker 1: he doesn't have great control over it yet as we
- 51:37Speaker 1: see then straw hat loofy obviously.
- 51:41Speaker 2: But again I was already a little bit like.
- 51:44Speaker 1: This is weird because like I would think he'd be
- 51:47Speaker 1: higher Trafalgar law. Also just three stars, really you went
- 51:53Speaker 1: after that guy personally, I would think that would be
- 51:56Speaker 1: much higher ranking for you. And then king three stars.
- 52:03Speaker 1: And then of course, because of the way that this
- 52:07Speaker 1: is set up, you guys know what's coming us up
- 52:10Speaker 1: is on the ground listening to all of this and
- 52:12Speaker 1: is like, wow, I wasn't even mentioned that's nice, and
- 52:16Speaker 1: then he goes on to say, so, now we've come
- 52:20Speaker 1: to the person that I hate most of all, and
- 52:24Speaker 1: this one in particular is the guy that you should
- 52:27Speaker 1: direct all of your complaints to because he's the reason
- 52:30Speaker 1: that you've been forced to.
- 52:32Speaker 2: Play this game.
- 52:33Speaker 1: You'll get a hearty reward five hundred million berries and
- 52:39Speaker 1: it is Oosop. And it is so funny because, first
- 52:44Speaker 1: of all, guys, he's got the real picture of Oosop.
- 52:47Speaker 1: This is not like, you know, the the Sniper King.
- 52:53Speaker 1: I I know that it's supposed to be because this
- 53:02Speaker 1: dude shocked Sugar, and Sugar being shocked has meant that
- 53:07Speaker 1: everybody turns back into humans. So he has been the
- 53:09Speaker 1: one that caused me the most grief. I get that's
- 53:13Speaker 1: what this is, right, But the idea that you need
- 53:18Speaker 1: to put that kind of bounty on his head when
- 53:22Speaker 1: he accidentally startled her just because she insisted on feeding
- 53:28Speaker 1: him that barry like she brought that shit on herself
- 53:33Speaker 1: and he was literally fully tied up and beaten at
- 53:37Speaker 1: the time to the point where he could barely like
- 53:42Speaker 1: see or speak or anything. Putting him at the top
- 53:48Speaker 1: of the list is the dumbest move I have ever
- 53:52Speaker 1: heard De Flamingo. My main irritation with this is that
- 53:58Speaker 1: it really doesn't feel like you are taking shit seriously
- 54:01Speaker 1: at all. I cannot help but be offended. Wow, really,
- 54:08Speaker 1: it just it feels so insulting because the people that
- 54:13Speaker 1: are really a.
- 54:14Speaker 2: Threat, it's just not about that for you.
- 54:17Speaker 1: I guess it's just about and and for and like
- 54:21Speaker 1: what he didn't even.
- 54:25Speaker 2: You know what?
- 54:26Speaker 1: Sure, fine, do the dumbest thing possible, I guess enjoy
- 54:32Speaker 1: So of course, poor Oosap is like Jesus fucking Christ,
- 54:37Speaker 1: and do Flamingo really is like trying to enforce on everybody.
- 54:46Speaker 1: You guys can take some time to decide how you
- 54:49Speaker 1: want to handle this, but I AM going to keep
- 54:51Speaker 1: on reaking havoc until you guys take out these people.
- 54:57Speaker 1: So the more you drag this out, the more destruction
- 55:01Speaker 1: you're bringing on yourselves. And I also want to acknowledge
- 55:07Speaker 1: that this guy, I know that this is just like
- 55:11Speaker 1: the conceit of the show, but you know that I
- 55:15Speaker 1: love to sort of step back and consider things in
- 55:18Speaker 1: a much more like pedantic way. Can we all stop
- 55:23Speaker 1: and consider that do Flamingo Do Flamingo had these like
- 55:34Speaker 1: pictures of our friends these Hunger Games style graphics with
- 55:40Speaker 1: names and prizes ready to go in his Like he
- 55:45Speaker 1: had like a little Canva folder full of all of
- 55:49Speaker 1: the information about all of the guys that he hates
- 55:52Speaker 1: that he was just ready to like pop out on
- 55:54Speaker 1: a moment's notice. I just think that's really really funny.
- 55:58Speaker 1: I love the idea of him like, as he makes enemies,
- 56:02Speaker 1: just once somebody passes a certain threshold of pain in
- 56:06Speaker 1: the ass for him, they go on the to do
- 56:09Speaker 1: list to make a graphic for them, because eventually he's
- 56:11Speaker 1: hoping that he's going to get to like sick people
- 56:13Speaker 1: on them. I just think that would be very, very funny.
- 56:16Speaker 1: I like this idea because.
- 56:18Speaker 2: They're all really well done.
- 56:19Speaker 1: You know, they're really good portrait images of these people,
- 56:24Speaker 1: and they have like this flame background going on them.
- 56:28Speaker 1: Like they're very very fun and you know, the way
- 56:34Speaker 1: he has these screens mounted all over, it's like it
- 56:39Speaker 1: feels like this whole place was rigged to be a
- 56:42Speaker 1: Hunger Games from the start, even though I don't think
- 56:46Speaker 1: that's necessarily true, it's just I can't help but feel
- 56:49Speaker 1: like you were kind of gearing up for all of
- 56:53Speaker 1: this from the beginning, you know, like this is some
- 56:56Speaker 1: some graphic designer that he had to hire just for
- 57:00Speaker 1: like the intimidation of the populace. I mean, that's like
- 57:04Speaker 1: historically how it works.
- 57:05Speaker 2: I guess. You know, you have to get.
- 57:07Speaker 1: Your propaganda machines going, and good graphics are part of that. Anyway,
- 57:13Speaker 1: I just wanted to talk about that because I thought
- 57:15Speaker 1: that was so funny. So then we get like the
- 57:17Speaker 1: people from the actual town talking about, like what if
- 57:20Speaker 1: we team up, then we might have a shot at
- 57:23Speaker 1: taking him out? And these other guys are saying like,
- 57:26Speaker 1: it's not just him though. He's got two thousand people
- 57:29Speaker 1: in his family and I bet they're more than willing
- 57:32Speaker 1: to throw their lives on the line for him. But
- 57:36Speaker 1: everybody else is like King Riku, it turns out is
- 57:41Speaker 1: innocent after everything that he has gone through, Maybe like
- 57:47Speaker 1: we owe him. What if we took these people in
- 57:50Speaker 1: and alive and apprehended them and handed them over but
- 57:55Speaker 1: didn't kill them, that might be good enough. You know.
- 58:00Speaker 2: I don't hate this.
- 58:02Speaker 1: I don't like, of course, the idea of them cooperating
- 58:07Speaker 1: at all in in a vacuum, but they are genuinely
- 58:14Speaker 1: being put in a position where they can't not take
- 58:19Speaker 1: action because he is just going to continue attacking all
- 58:24Speaker 1: of them through their peers, which is just you know,
- 58:28Speaker 1: in combination with like Sugar's power of being able to
- 58:31Speaker 1: make the toys do whatever she wants. The overriding of
- 58:34Speaker 1: free will from these guys is really upsetting, and I
- 58:39Speaker 1: think that they're like these townsfolk, it seems to me,
- 58:44Speaker 1: are kind of doing the best they can with the
- 58:47Speaker 1: situation that they have in front of them. So I
- 58:53Speaker 1: love to seeing a couple points where people are like
- 58:56Speaker 1: trying to sneak up on various ones of them. One
- 58:58Speaker 1: of these guys like shoots at Frankie and he just
- 59:02Speaker 1: looks over his shoulder and says, do it.
- 59:06Speaker 2: And this guy like kind of cries out a little bit.
- 59:10Speaker 2: I thought he would just.
- 59:11Speaker 1: Back away, but he doesn't. He does take the shot
- 59:14Speaker 1: and he hits Franky in the head, which I'm not
- 59:17Speaker 1: rooting for Frankie to get shot on the head, but
- 59:18Speaker 1: I had to admit, like, good shot at least.
- 59:22Speaker 2: But these guys.
- 59:23Speaker 1: Keep coming at Frankie and they're like, we haven't got
- 59:25Speaker 1: a choice, There's no other way out, and he bashes
- 59:29Speaker 1: Frankie this other guy with a bat, which just breaks
- 59:32Speaker 1: in half, and Frankie says, if I fight you losers
- 59:36Speaker 1: one by one, this'll never end. And he basically just
- 59:41Speaker 1: like picks up everybody that was coming at him and
- 59:45Speaker 1: chucks them away from him, which, you know what, I
- 59:49Speaker 1: think that is probably the only way to deal with
- 59:55Speaker 1: this is to make sure that these people either can't
- 59:57Speaker 1: get near you, or if they do, you just shoo
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: them away. So we see him like heading toward the factory,
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: and Frankie is still like, I Am going to fuck
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: this entire place up. Here we go and he's running
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: toward it.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: Let's see.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: I'm towards the end of the third episode here where
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Zoro calls Robin. He says, I we're at I think
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: it's called the King's Plateau. I'm here with Lufy's group.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: Things are getting messy, aren't they? And Lufy just snatching
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: up the thing. Have you seen mingo? He makes me
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: so mad. But the whole thing with oos up is
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: pretty hilarious, though, Loofy, you are a mean, mean man.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: That is so funny.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: Though, So yeah, she says Rebecca, then jumps on the
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: phone and Lufy lets her know that the soldier is
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: with him, and you have like the little moment of
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: her realizing like, oh my god, it's my dad. You know,
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: the whole reveal here, which we've already known. So I
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: the thing is, you guys, Just to be clear, I
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: like this in theory, but it's just that I don't
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: care much about Rebecca. The fact that he's her dad
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: was pretty clear, and we just always seem to need
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: to go through the whole song and dance of tons
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: of flashbacks and slow pans across her face as she
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: realizes a thing because we're just like filling things out,
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: We're just drawing it all out, so it gets to
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: a point where it loses any emotional impact because it's
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: just so overdone. But yeah, so they haven't actually seen
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: each other yet, but we do have this like realization
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: and fucking As they're like running towards the fight, Rebecca
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: is just sobbing into her hands, and I was like, man,
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: they have never done this girl a good turn on
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: this show.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: Not one time.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: It has just been repeatedly over and over, her being
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: made to be like the weak link in whatever group
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: she's in.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: It sucks. Oh what can you do?
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: All right, guys, I have to wrap this one up.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: But I really appreciate y'all hanging out with me. Thank
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: you too, Florian and Sarah Fim for being in the
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: chat and giving me infohe and stuff, letting me.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: Know when I've fucked up.
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: Very much appreciated, and I hope that you guys are
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: enjoying the coverage. Until next time to the lou motherfuckers.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: That was an unspoiled Network podcast
