Les Wexner And His Funding Of Jeffrey Epstein · The Epstein Chronicles

Speaker 1: Ghislaine Maxwell was very evasive in her deposition. That was
0:05
Speaker 1: to be expected. Did anyone really think that she was
0:08
Speaker 1: going to get up there and incriminate herself? In her hubris,
0:14
Speaker 1: in her arrogance, she never thought that she was ever
0:17
Speaker 1: going to have to answer for lying in that deposition.
0:21
Speaker 1: She never took it serious. Look at the way she
0:23
Speaker 1: referred to Virginia throughout that deposition. Look at the way
0:29
Speaker 1: she got angry and smashed her hand down on the table.
0:33
Speaker 1: Look at the way she went about answering these questions.
0:38
Speaker 1: So she was never going to be up front. She
0:44
Speaker 1: was never going to tell the truth here. But it's
0:49
Speaker 1: a huge piece to the puzzle, right? Her own words
0:55
Speaker 1: denying all of the things that we have tons of
0:59
Speaker 1: circumstantial evidence for. And if we have circumstantial evidence for it,
1:04
Speaker 1: how much evidence do you think the federal government has compiled?
1:10
Speaker 1: And the people who were named in this deposition are
1:14
Speaker 1: people that are names that have been thrown around in
1:18
Speaker 1: this case for quite some time. Like I said, I
1:20
Speaker 1: was not expecting any bombshells, but with the deposition out,
1:27
Speaker 1: things like this article we're going to read tonight begin
1:31
Speaker 1: to occur. And I think it's important that these kind
1:35
Speaker 1: of outlets like Business Insider talk about Les Wexner and
1:40
Speaker 1: the relationship he had with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
1:45
Speaker 1: It's something that is not talked about nearly enough. Now,
1:50
Speaker 1: I'm not one of these people that's going to run around.
1:52
Speaker 1: I don't think that Wexner was in charge of the
1:54
Speaker 1: whole thing or anything like that. but he was certainly
1:57
Speaker 1: part of it. He was most certainly an enabler and
2:00
Speaker 1: he most certainly was financing the operation. And he had
2:06
Speaker 1: a lot of friends who were in intelligence as well.
2:10
Speaker 1: So when I look at Les Wexner in the grand scheme,
2:16
Speaker 1: the big picture of this thing, he is definitely one
2:19
Speaker 1: of the key financiers of Jeffrey Epstein. That is without
2:23
Speaker 1: a doubt. He was one of the main people to
2:27
Speaker 1: get Jeffrey Epstein up and going, one of the main
2:30
Speaker 1: people to fund this decades-long crime spree. He was very much,
2:39
Speaker 1: very much involved with Jeffrey Epstein personally, and he is
2:44
Speaker 1: somebody who has intricate knowledge of what was going on.
2:51
Speaker 1: And that's just going on the circumstantial evidence that we have.
2:56
Speaker 1: I haven't even brought up the fact that he is
2:59
Speaker 1: also being credibly accused of partaking in the abuse himself.
3:05
Speaker 1: So Les Wexner is a figure that definitely needs to
3:09
Speaker 1: be aired out. Definitely needs to answer some really hard questions.
3:14
Speaker 1: And he is somebody who most certainly was in the
3:19
Speaker 1: upper atmosphere... Of Jeffrey Epstein's circle. Very powerful man. Very
3:26
Speaker 1: well connected. Here and abroad. And somebody. Who just thought that.
3:34
Speaker 1: Out of the blue. Jeffrey Epstein would be a good investment.
3:38
Speaker 1: That Jeffrey Epstein. This college dropout. Would be the kind
3:42
Speaker 1: of guy. That you want to give. Complete power of
3:46
Speaker 1: attorney to. Well that's what Les Wexner did. And just
3:51
Speaker 1: like with Leon Black. I am hard pressed to believe.
3:56
Speaker 1: That of all the people. That Les Wexner. Could entrust
4:01
Speaker 1: his money to. His companies to. His life to basically.
4:06
Speaker 1: He would choose Jeffrey Epstein. It's not because they were
4:10
Speaker 1: such good friends. It was about the business. It was
4:15
Speaker 1: about moving things forward. And all of these people. That
4:20
Speaker 1: were in Jeffrey Epstein's close atmosphere. In my opinion. All
4:24
Speaker 1: had their part to play. Be it Bagman. Be it Gopher.
4:30
Speaker 1: And Paper Pusher. Like Indyk. Or be it one of
4:35
Speaker 1: the core four. And their roles. Within the criminal enterprise.
4:41
Speaker 1: Everybody had a role to play. That was around Epstein.
4:45
Speaker 1: And Maxwell. And Wexner played his role. To a tee.
4:51
Speaker 1: So let's jump into this article by the Business Insider
4:55
Speaker 1: and talk a little bit more about Les Wexner. Headline,
5:00
Speaker 1: unsealed Ghislaine Maxwell deposition appears to show attorneys questioning Jeffrey
5:05
Speaker 1: Epstein's mysterious relationship with Victoria's Secret founder, Les Wexner. And
5:12
Speaker 1: I don't think there's anything too mysterious about it at
5:14
Speaker 1: this point, right? I mean, we don't have all of
5:18
Speaker 1: the details, but I think enough... of the story has
5:23
Speaker 1: been written here in front of our faces for us
5:25
Speaker 1: to understand that these dudes were deeply connected these dudes
5:30
Speaker 1: were very close the townhouse the keys to the kingdom
5:39
Speaker 1: the ability to use Victoria's Secret as a carrot to
5:43
Speaker 1: get girls into positions where they're vulnerable so he could
5:48
Speaker 1: take advantage of them all of this was done Because
5:52
Speaker 1: Les Wexner allowed it... All of this was done... Because
5:56
Speaker 1: Les Wexner... Enabled Jeffrey Epstein's behavior... This article... Was authored...
6:05
Speaker 1: By Kate Taylor... Attorneys appeared to probe... Jeffrey Epstein's relationship...
6:12
Speaker 1: With Victoria's Secret founder... Les Wexner... In a deposition of
6:15
Speaker 1: Ghislaine Maxwell... Which was unsealed on Thursday... So... I'm sure
6:21
Speaker 1: most of you have read the unsealed documents by now.
6:26
Speaker 1: I put two and two together and understand obviously who
6:29
Speaker 1: they're talking about when they're mentioning Les Wexner in that deposition.
6:34
Speaker 1: It's pretty obvious. And the relationship between Wexner and Jeffrey
6:44
Speaker 1: Epstein is one of the most least explored aspects of
6:48
Speaker 1: this case, in my opinion. The legacy media has not
6:51
Speaker 1: done Nothing, nothing in regards to uncovering the truth of
6:57
Speaker 1: this relationship. The deposition of Maxwell, Epstein's confidant, co-conspirator, fellow
7:05
Speaker 1: child abuser, general all-around scuzzbag and bipedal serpent, is linked
7:10
Speaker 1: to a since-settled civil case that was brought against her
7:13
Speaker 1: by Virginia Roberts. Roberts accused Maxwell of aiding Epstein in
7:18
Speaker 1: trafficking her for sex with rich and powerful men, including
7:23
Speaker 1: Epstein himself. And those accusations sure look like they're pretty strong, huh?
7:30
Speaker 1: If you needed any more prodding to think that Virginia
7:35
Speaker 1: was telling the truth, well, all you have to do
7:38
Speaker 1: is read the deposition and then decide for yourself why
7:42
Speaker 1: prosecutors would bring those charges... If Virginia was lying in
7:46
Speaker 1: that deposition. It just. That doesn't make sense. The prosecutors
7:51
Speaker 1: don't do that kind of thing. They have to really believe.
7:56
Speaker 1: They're going to get a conviction. If they're going to
7:58
Speaker 1: go after people like this. And they obviously believe. That
8:01
Speaker 1: they have a very strong case. And two of the
8:05
Speaker 1: hold charges. That we have her. Under right now. Well
8:09
Speaker 1: two of those are because of. A direct result. of
8:13
Speaker 1: her being dishonest in this deposition or the prosecution believing
8:19
Speaker 1: that Virginia's story was authentic and Ghislaine Maxwell's story was fugazi.
8:28
Speaker 1: Wexner's relationship with Epstein has been under the microscope since
8:31
Speaker 1: Epstein's arrest in July 2019. Well, under the microscope by
8:36
Speaker 1: independent content creators and people who are interested in the case,
8:41
Speaker 1: investigative journalists, but not by the legacy media. Have they
8:45
Speaker 1: done a full court blitz? Have they done a full
8:48
Speaker 1: court press? I mean, of course not. We haven't seen
8:52
Speaker 1: somebody chase down Wexner and demand answers. In fact, we
8:55
Speaker 1: saw a few puff pieces written about him. So I
9:00
Speaker 1: don't know under the microscope, I think that's going a
9:03
Speaker 1: little bit too far considering we haven't seen a real
9:06
Speaker 1: expose on the guy yet. The deposition appears to indicate
9:11
Speaker 1: that lawyers were probing the relationship between Wexner and Epstein
9:15
Speaker 1: in 2016. Yeah, of course. Definitely. Everybody knew what sort
9:22
Speaker 1: of role Wexner played. At the very least, everybody understood
9:25
Speaker 1: that he was enabling Jeffrey Epstein's behavior and enabling these
9:30
Speaker 1: crimes because he was financing him, was basically bankrolling this
9:35
Speaker 1: whole thing, him and Robert Maxwell. And that's certainly what
9:39
Speaker 1: my opinion of it is, that it was Robert Maxwell
9:42
Speaker 1: and Les Wexner were the main bankrollers of Jeffrey Epstein.
9:47
Speaker 1: And if a real investigation was underway, and if they
9:53
Speaker 1: really wanted to get to the bottom of all of
9:56
Speaker 1: this and really shatter this at the nexus... they'd be
10:00
Speaker 1: going after People like this. They'd be looking into Wexner
10:04
Speaker 1: with a team of forensic accountants. And again, they might be.
10:08
Speaker 1: I don't know. None of us do, right? Anyone who
10:10
Speaker 1: says they do, who isn't directly involved in the case
10:14
Speaker 1: on the prosecution side, really is probably lying to you
10:18
Speaker 1: unless they have a good source, which is possible. But
10:21
Speaker 1: for the most part, nobody knows who those sealed indictments are.
10:25
Speaker 1: Nobody knows who's going to be next. But if everything
10:29
Speaker 1: was fair... And they really wanted to prove that it's
10:33
Speaker 1: about justice and not about letting the rich get off again. Well,
10:38
Speaker 1: people like Wexner and Black and Dubin and the rest
10:41
Speaker 1: of the scoundrels, well, they would be caught up in
10:44
Speaker 1: the financial portion of this at the very least. All
10:49
Speaker 1: names in the deposition have been redacted except Maxwell's and Epstein's. However,
10:55
Speaker 1: a number of clues indicate that a certain person referenced
10:58
Speaker 1: 10 times in the 418-page document is likely Wexner. And
11:03
Speaker 1: we discussed that in the Slate article. And it's definitely Wexner.
11:07
Speaker 1: Not most likely. It's Wexner, okay? That's who the redacted
11:10
Speaker 1: name is. No doubt about it. And when you look
11:13
Speaker 1: at it in context, you understand that. We didn't even
11:16
Speaker 1: need to have it unredacted for us to understand when
11:19
Speaker 1: we look at it in context. And why is that? Well...
11:23
Speaker 1: because we've been following this story for so long, we
11:26
Speaker 1: know the ins and outs. We know who gave Jeffrey
11:29
Speaker 1: Epstein the townhouse. We know who ran Victoria's Secret, etc., etc.
11:34
Speaker 1: It's not a mystery at this point, is it? Do
11:38
Speaker 1: you know why redacted Les Wexner sold the New York
11:42
Speaker 1: house or gave the New York house to Jeffrey, if
11:45
Speaker 1: you know? An attorney asked Maxwell at one point in
11:48
Speaker 1: the deposition. And again... why would you just give away
11:52
Speaker 1: that sort of house? We've all seen that house now.
11:55
Speaker 1: We're all familiar with the dollar signs attached to it.
11:58
Speaker 1: So you just give that house away? Or was that
12:02
Speaker 1: house part of the operation? Was that house part of
12:06
Speaker 1: the whole entire enterprise? And that was just another way
12:11
Speaker 1: that Wexner could contribute. Like I said, everybody had their
12:15
Speaker 1: part to play. Jeffrey Epstein had his part, right? He
12:18
Speaker 1: was the guy who was the front of the operation.
12:22
Speaker 1: Then you had Ghislaine Maxwell behind the scenes manipulating shit,
12:26
Speaker 1: making sure that they were able to access all of
12:29
Speaker 1: these social circles. Then you had the core four. Well,
12:33
Speaker 1: their job was grooming. Their job was procuring. Their job
12:37
Speaker 1: was setting these girls up to come and go from
12:41
Speaker 1: the mansion and elsewhere, right? Well, You don't think Wexner
12:46
Speaker 1: had a job? Of course he did. His job was
12:48
Speaker 1: to provide this massive amount of fundage and a place,
12:52
Speaker 1: a base of operations for all of this to take place.
12:59
Speaker 1: Wexner purchased a mansion in New York City for $ 13. 2
13:01
Speaker 1: million in 1989. He later sold or gifted the house
13:03
Speaker 1: to Epstein. It was rumored that Wexner gave Epstein the
13:10
Speaker 1: house for a single dollar, but the New York Times
13:13
Speaker 1: reported in 2019 that Epstein had paid $ 20 million for
13:18
Speaker 1: the home, citing a person with knowledge of Wexner's finances. Yeah, okay, sure.
13:24
Speaker 1: Nobody believes that. This was an operational move. This was
13:28
Speaker 1: all part of the ongoing criminal enterprise that they had underway.
13:35
Speaker 1: in my opinion anyway, that's where the evidence has led me. Again,
13:38
Speaker 1: like usual, I am most certainly willing to follow the
13:42
Speaker 1: evidence wherever it leads. But as of now, there is
13:48
Speaker 1: no way in my mind and there is no way
13:52
Speaker 1: that Anything that I've seen so far can lead me
13:56
Speaker 1: anywhere but the fact that Wexner was just playing his
14:00
Speaker 1: part here, folks. Just playing his part of Daddy Warbucks.
14:03
Speaker 1: Here's a couple of bucks. Here's a house. Here's this.
14:06
Speaker 1: Get shit going. Remember, we have people that are counting
14:11
Speaker 1: on us. And all of these people that were involved
14:16
Speaker 1: with Epstein, again, in his orbit, his very close orbit,
14:22
Speaker 1: They're all suspect, especially when you look at the whole
14:26
Speaker 1: story in context, especially when you follow the evidence regarding
14:34
Speaker 1: Wexner and Epstein. There's no other logical way to go
14:38
Speaker 1: about it other than these two were very, very deeply connected.
14:47
Speaker 1: While the name of the person who sold or gave
14:49
Speaker 1: the New York home to Epstein is redacted, The deposition's
14:53
Speaker 1: glossary provides further evidence that the lawyer was likely referring
14:57
Speaker 1: to Wexner. The alphabetically ordered glossary places the redacted term
15:01
Speaker 1: between we've and what's. So again, it's definitely Wexner. It's
15:07
Speaker 1: not even a question because when you know the story, well,
15:10
Speaker 1: you don't need the decoder ring. You understand that when
15:13
Speaker 1: they're talking about the mansion being passed, that that's Wexner.
15:16
Speaker 1: You understand when they talk about New Albany, well, that's Wexner.
15:20
Speaker 1: You understand when they talk about the prince or, you know,
15:24
Speaker 1: et cetera, et cetera. At this point, we all understand
15:27
Speaker 1: the players on the stage and we all understand the
15:30
Speaker 1: context for which they were performing. Other references to this
15:38
Speaker 1: person as listed in the glossary reinforced that attorneys and
15:42
Speaker 1: Maxwell were likely referring to Wexner. For example, an attorney
15:46
Speaker 1: asked Maxwell about the business relationship between Epstein and the
15:50
Speaker 1: person Wexner. I believe in the 90s, when I was there,
15:54
Speaker 1: they had a business relationship, Maxwell said, adding that the
15:58
Speaker 1: only relationship between the two that she was aware of
16:01
Speaker 1: was the business relationship. Yeah, you mean the money laundering
16:04
Speaker 1: operation you guys were running? Yeah, that's probably considered a
16:08
Speaker 1: business relationship in your world. So Maxwell has no idea.
16:14
Speaker 1: I mean, come on, guys. She had no idea who
16:17
Speaker 1: Wexner even was, really. Just, you know, just two strangers
16:21
Speaker 1: passing in the night. Nothing to see here. We don't
16:25
Speaker 1: know each other. Meanwhile, we know Maxwell's dad and Wexner
16:29
Speaker 1: knew each other. We know they had all the same contacts.
16:33
Speaker 1: We know that they ran in the same circles. So please,
16:38
Speaker 1: for Ghislaine Maxwell to act like she doesn't know about
16:41
Speaker 1: the relationship between Wexner and Epstein is laughable at best.
16:49
Speaker 1: A representative for Wexner declined to comment beyond what the
16:53
Speaker 1: former executive and his attorney said in publicly available documents.
16:58
Speaker 1: Of course they did. They're never going to respond. They
17:00
Speaker 1: never do. It's the mum's the word crew, right? Let's,
17:04
Speaker 1: you know, we'll start with a marathon trying to distance
17:07
Speaker 1: ourselves from this. And then when the fallout really starts
17:11
Speaker 1: to come, it's time to go into sprint mode and
17:13
Speaker 1: we'll go and hide at Balmoral or we'll go and
17:16
Speaker 1: hide at our huge mansion somewhere. Meanwhile, they're not understanding
17:24
Speaker 1: that this isn't going away. They're not understanding that they're
17:28
Speaker 1: not going to be able to sweep this under the
17:30
Speaker 1: rug this time. The wheels of justice turn slowly, but
17:35
Speaker 1: when you get caught up in the turning, boy, is
17:38
Speaker 1: it a grinding experience. Wexner, who founded Victoria's Secret parent company,
17:47
Speaker 1: L Brands, in 1963, had a close personal and professional
17:51
Speaker 1: relationship with Epstein beginning in the 80s. For years, Wexner
17:56
Speaker 1: was Epstein's only known client. Yeah, that's not weird. That's
17:59
Speaker 1: not like, well, you know, the Corleones and Tom Hagen
18:02
Speaker 1: type shit. Nah, not at all. Just par for the course.
18:07
Speaker 1: One client? That's it? If Jeffrey Epstein was so great
18:11
Speaker 1: at his job, he was such a financial wizard. Why
18:14
Speaker 1: did he only have one client? Why did he only
18:18
Speaker 1: have maybe a couple of clients, Leon Black too? And
18:22
Speaker 1: why is it always these people that are in the
18:24
Speaker 1: financial world or these magnates that are around Jeffrey Epstein?
18:28
Speaker 1: People that can, you know, do something for him. Wexner
18:34
Speaker 1: may soon be forced to share more about his ties
18:37
Speaker 1: to Jeffrey Epstein. Attorneys also tied the person to allegations
18:41
Speaker 1: that Maxwell groomed Roberts and other teenagers for sex work.
18:46
Speaker 1: Did you ever provide Virginia Roberts with an outfit, an
18:49
Speaker 1: outfit of a sexual nature to wherefore redacted an attorney
18:54
Speaker 1: for Roberts asked referring to the same person? So we're
18:59
Speaker 1: talking about Wexner again. Maxwell responded categorically no, denying various
19:06
Speaker 1: other questions about providing sexually charged outfits for girls who
19:09
Speaker 1: visited Epstein. Wexner has denied ever meeting Roberts. Yeah, of
19:14
Speaker 1: course he has. So did Prince Andrew. So did Prince Andrew.
19:19
Speaker 1: You know, I only wish this was like back in
19:21
Speaker 1: the day. I wish it was like now with all
19:24
Speaker 1: the cell phones and everybody taking pictures because there would
19:26
Speaker 1: have been no way people wouldn't have been snapping sneak
19:29
Speaker 1: shots of these scoundrels all together. I mean, we even
19:32
Speaker 1: got a few pictures with the old school kind of
19:34
Speaker 1: cameras like Virginia used for her picture. But imagine if
19:38
Speaker 1: we had cell phone cameras back then? Boy, forget it.
19:41
Speaker 1: These people would have been in big trouble. Allegations that
19:46
Speaker 1: Wexner and Roberts have met have become an issue in
19:49
Speaker 1: another recent lawsuit. between the lawyer, Alan Dershowitz and Roberts.
19:53
Speaker 1: As part of the suit, Mr. I kept my underpants
19:56
Speaker 1: on Dershowitz is attempting to force Wexner and his lawyer
20:00
Speaker 1: to testify to bolster his case against Roberts, whom he
20:04
Speaker 1: is suing for defamation. And we've talked about that a lot.
20:08
Speaker 1: You know, it was, uh, Dirty Dersh made a very
20:12
Speaker 1: bold attempt to try and get his hands on some
20:15
Speaker 1: documents in Preska's courtroom. And thankfully, Judge Preska gave him
20:19
Speaker 1: a nice forearm shiver to the face and told him
20:24
Speaker 1: to kick rocks. He wanted to really get into those documents.
20:30
Speaker 1: He tried to get Wexner involved. And I said at
20:32
Speaker 1: the time, and I still believe him pulling Wexner into
20:35
Speaker 1: it was a way to get the spotlight off of him.
20:38
Speaker 1: and focused on another so-called member of polite society. Mr.
20:46
Speaker 1: I-kept-my-underpants-on Dershowitz alleges Roberts attempted to shake down Wexner by
20:50
Speaker 1: claiming the retail executive had sex with her when she
20:53
Speaker 1: was underage and that she had knowledge of his sexual hang-ups.
20:58
Speaker 1: Another allegation Wexner denies. So Dershowitz says that boys and...
21:05
Speaker 1: Virginia Roberts, they were all trying to extort Wexner. And
21:09
Speaker 1: Wexner says, that's absolutely incorrect. Once again, you're lying, Mr. Dershowitz.
21:15
Speaker 1: That's what Wexner's saying, basically, right? And it sure looks
21:19
Speaker 1: that way to me. It certainly looks to me that
21:23
Speaker 1: Alan Dershowitz will do anything to get the spotlight off
21:27
Speaker 1: of him in this case and put it somewhere else.
21:33
Speaker 1: Dirty Dershowitz said in a mid-August filing that Roberts' attorneys
21:36
Speaker 1: described in detail the alleged sexual encounters between Roberts and Wexner,
21:41
Speaker 1: including an alleged demand by Wexner that Roberts wear Victoria's
21:45
Speaker 1: Secret-type lingerie during their encounters. Such an accusation, if made publicly,
21:52
Speaker 1: could have massively damaged Wexner and his company, Dershowitz said,
21:56
Speaker 1: alleging that Roberts attempted to extort Wexner based on his
21:59
Speaker 1: recollection of a 2015 conversation between himself and Wexner's attorney,
22:05
Speaker 1: John Zeiger. And Zeiger came out and said that never happened.
22:10
Speaker 1: We know that. And we know that Wexner has denied
22:13
Speaker 1: it as well. So it's like pick your poison here, right?
22:18
Speaker 1: Who do you believe? Mr. I kept my underpants on
22:21
Speaker 1: or less the dirty rat Wexner? Robert's attorney, David Boyes,
22:26
Speaker 1: has said no such shakedown or settlement of any kind
22:29
Speaker 1: was ever made or discussed with Wexner. Wexner has denied
22:34
Speaker 1: ever meeting Roberts and said no such extortion attempt ever occurred.
22:38
Speaker 1: In July, Zeiger said in a filing, no extortion demand
22:43
Speaker 1: was ever made, no settlement was ever entered into, and
22:47
Speaker 1: not a penny or other consideration was ever paid. And
22:53
Speaker 1: that pretty much right there shot Dershowitz's story to shit.
22:57
Speaker 1: And you try and bring that kind of nonsense in
22:59
Speaker 1: Preska's courtroom, and she's not having it, obviously. Despite denials
23:05
Speaker 1: of the alleged shakedown on all sides, Dirty Dershowitz has
23:08
Speaker 1: requested Wexner turn over documents that he said would bolster
23:12
Speaker 1: his case against Roberts. In August, U.S. District Judge Loretta
23:17
Speaker 1: Preska said the court sees no reason for that correspondence
23:21
Speaker 1: to remain under seal. Zeiger has agreed to testify in
23:25
Speaker 1: the case, but attorneys for Wexner have said that the
23:28
Speaker 1: former CEO does not possess discoverable information. So in layman's terms,
23:35
Speaker 1: get effed. You are not talking to Wexner. No chance.
23:39
Speaker 1: You could talk to the lawyer, but Wexner is not
23:41
Speaker 1: going to be deposed unless it's court ordered. Wexner said
23:46
Speaker 1: he cut ties with Epstein more than a decade ago.
23:50
Speaker 1: Wexner led L Brands for nearly six decades before stepping
23:54
Speaker 1: down in February. And it wasn't a coincidence. He stepped
23:57
Speaker 1: down because of his relationship with Epstein. He stepped down because, well...
24:02
Speaker 1: the public was no longer willing to sit by and
24:06
Speaker 1: let this slimy, smarmy bastard run these companies. So the
24:13
Speaker 1: public outcry was so great that Wexner had no other
24:16
Speaker 1: choice but to step down. Roberts described Wexner as Epstein's
24:21
Speaker 1: best friend and mentor in her unpublished memoir, which was
24:25
Speaker 1: unsealed this summer. Look, They were very close, right? There's
24:29
Speaker 1: no doubt about that. I don't know one way or
24:31
Speaker 1: the other about a friendship. Virginia would know better than me, obviously.
24:35
Speaker 1: But from what I can see, it was just another
24:39
Speaker 1: business relationship with Epstein. Jeffrey Epstein was using him as
24:44
Speaker 1: just another tool to further his criminal enterprise. And that
24:50
Speaker 1: was Wexner's role in this whole entire thing, right? Like
24:52
Speaker 1: we discussed, he was the bag man. The New York
24:57
Speaker 1: Times reported last year that Epstein attempted to involve himself
25:00
Speaker 1: in recruiting lingerie models for Victoria's Secret. One model, Alicia Arden,
25:06
Speaker 1: filed a police report in 1997 saying that she was
25:09
Speaker 1: attacked by Epstein, whom she met with after he identified
25:13
Speaker 1: himself as a talent agent for the brand. Epstein had
25:17
Speaker 1: significant control over Wexner's finances, philanthropy, and private life, the
25:22
Speaker 1: Times reported, citing people who knew Epstein and Wexner and
25:25
Speaker 1: court documents and financial records. Yeah, it's not even disputed.
25:30
Speaker 1: The Wexner family doesn't dispute it either. The King of
25:33
Speaker 1: Columbus definitely does not dispute it. They were great friends.
25:37
Speaker 1: Epstein was in charge of all of his finances and
25:41
Speaker 1: the falling out stuff. Yeah, pretty sure that's a cover
25:44
Speaker 1: story in my opinion. A representative for Wexner said last
25:49
Speaker 1: year the executive had cut ties with Epstein more than
25:53
Speaker 1: a decade earlier. Wexner condemned Epstein in a letter to
25:57
Speaker 1: his foundation in August 2019, saying that his former financial
26:01
Speaker 1: advisor misappropriated vast sums of money from him and his family.
26:06
Speaker 1: You see the pattern here? All of these guys have
26:09
Speaker 1: to send them. First, it starts with sending the emails
26:11
Speaker 1: to their investors, right? First, it starts with sending emails
26:14
Speaker 1: to the board members. And then comes, well, I'm stepping
26:18
Speaker 1: down because I have to spend more time with my family. No,
26:21
Speaker 1: we know the deal. We know why you had to leave, Wexner.
26:24
Speaker 1: We know the fact of the matter is you were
26:28
Speaker 1: under pressure to do so. You would have never left
26:31
Speaker 1: that company of your own accord. Please, your hand was forced.
26:39
Speaker 1: I am embarrassed that like so many others, I was
26:42
Speaker 1: deceived by Mr. Epstein, Wexner wrote in the letter. I
26:46
Speaker 1: know now that my trust in him was grossly misplaced
26:49
Speaker 1: and I deeply regret having ever crossed his path. A
26:53
Speaker 1: representative for L Brands did not respond to Business Insider's
26:56
Speaker 1: request for comment on the newly unsealed documents. Yeah, they
27:00
Speaker 1: definitely don't want, they have their hands full as it is, right?
27:03
Speaker 1: The retail industry is on its way out, as we
27:06
Speaker 1: know it, brick and mortar anyway. And L Brands and
27:09
Speaker 1: Victoria's Secret especially is at the forefront of getting shattered
27:13
Speaker 1: in that realm. So yeah, they got bigger problems. And
27:17
Speaker 1: Wexner himself, he's not going to answer shit. He doesn't
27:20
Speaker 1: feel like he has to. He'll send his lawyers out.
27:24
Speaker 1: He'll maybe, you know, his lawyer might give a canned
27:27
Speaker 1: statement if the pressure gets turned up too hot. But
27:32
Speaker 1: Wexner is never going to go under oath about his
27:36
Speaker 1: relationship with Jeffrey Epstein willingly. So they have a lot
27:41
Speaker 1: of financial history together, right? With Jeffrey Epstein's criminality. It
27:48
Speaker 1: would be easy I would think. To tie them together. Financially.
27:54
Speaker 1: And then. Once that's the case. Slap Wexner. With a
28:01
Speaker 1: criminal indictment. If he was involved in moving. ill-gotten gains
28:07
Speaker 1: if he was involved in receiving ill-gotten gains if Jeffrey
28:10
Speaker 1: Epstein was in charge of his money and Jeffrey Epstein
28:13
Speaker 1: was using his money for his crimes and to cover
28:18
Speaker 1: up and to pay off these girls and witnesses and
28:21
Speaker 1: whatever have you well that makes Wexner certainly part of
28:26
Speaker 1: the conspiracy from a financial perspective and under let's hear
28:31
Speaker 1: from the back folks RICO laws well he'd be facing
28:36
Speaker 1: severe criminal penalties again. The question remains, will the authorities
28:46
Speaker 1: and the prosecutors have the backbone to do it? If
