- 0:20It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh with us inside the treehouse.
- 0:28On a Fridday, June twenty eighth, twenty twenty four. I'm Daniel
- 0:33Malley along with Trey Trendholm and Raj Sharma. I have tried gentlemen over the
- 0:42past. I guess week since I told you about one of my first major
- 0:48head injuries as a child when I read head when I ran headfirst into a
- 0:54piece of playground equipment, right, and that piece of playground equipment that I
- 0:59described to you in detail because ironically I remember it was a lightwood blacquered finish
- 1:08box, right, and it was just sitting straight in the middle of the
- 1:14ground, and on two sides it had wooden bars kind of like a jail
- 1:19from bottom to top, and then on the other two sides it was just
- 1:23complete straight through open and my game was to run through the open side.
- 1:27I think it was like a race or something with someone I don't know,
- 1:30and I ran all the way trying to run through it like I've done in
- 1:37the past, and didn't realize I had grown since the last time I played,
- 1:40and smacked myself straight into the two by six going across it right So
- 1:46I have tried over the last week to no avail to find a photo of
- 1:53this playground equipment to show you guys. I can't find it. I have
- 1:56searched on Google, I've searched on being I think I even dug up Licos
- 2:00to see nineteen eighties playground equipment image searches, and I cannot find an example
- 2:08of this piece of playground equipment. But the way you describe it, I
- 2:13don't understand the play part of it. It just sounds like somebody built a
- 2:19box. Like what would you do with it? Because I think jail bars
- 2:24on both sides and then opening on the other two sides. Yeah, what
- 2:29does that do? Well? I think I think it's a piece for using
- 2:34your imagination, your play creativity. I really don't know. I mean that
- 2:40was the beauty of all of us with our age when we were kids.
- 2:46We found ways to play with things, even if they weren't necessarily toys,
- 2:50we'd still find a way to integrate them into our playtime. Yeah. But
- 2:53I think this was like maybe a low underfunded school and they were like,
- 2:58hey, we need some sort of playground thing, like somebody's dad's Like I
- 3:00got some wood of the land of misfit toys. Maybe that's what it was.
- 3:08Maybe that really is what it was. My recess in pre kindergarten was
- 3:12the land of misfit toys. Did the adopted kids have a special playground?
- 3:19Since we didn't have real parents, we couldn't have real playground equipment. You
- 3:23had a good playground equipment nobody else wanted. No, Sorry, the good
- 3:29kids, the uh, the a k C Registered children get the good playground
- 3:37with the monkey bars and the swing set. Yeah. Uh and the merry
- 3:42go round thing. No, no, no. And for you adopted kids,
- 3:45you don't get that good stuff. You go over there and get the
- 3:46reject pile. Yeah. I'm just saying, if you were handed off in
- 3:50the parking lot of a Walmart, that's kind of the best toy you're gonna
- 3:52get. No, beggars can't be choosers. You just live with what you
- 3:59get. Look a curb, it's like Christmas for adopted Maybe one day I'll
- 4:09be able to get the lines that go with the entire parking spot. Life
- 4:15was tough as an adopted kid. I never thought about that. Maybe I
- 4:16was in the school for the uh, the lonely and adopted. Yes,
- 4:20it's right next to Hogwarts, like except we don't get told about the secret
- 4:26passageway. There's nothing magical. It's just a sad place. We just run
- 4:31into the brick wall because it's what was painted over like looney tunes. See
- 4:40you you you you normal kids. You don't know how good you had it.
- 4:44Yeah, we had monkey barns and the little little little horses and race
- 4:48corners with the springs on it that you could with the swing sets. And
- 4:51yeah. See the only way I got to ride in those fun cars was
- 4:56in front of the walmart and you had to throw a corter into it.
- 5:00Oh, I had to pay for it. You got to ride that for
- 5:01free. And the good, the good hot metal slide, the hot metal
- 5:05side is my favorite. No, we had that. Even you guys got
- 5:11that. Okay, well, even even we had the hot metal slide.
- 5:14You kids were the ones that got the good, new plastic slides that didn't
- 5:16give you third degree burns across your har No, no, no, we
- 5:19didn't that. That didn't change until at least in my elementary school. I
- 5:25remember this like I believe it was the late nineties, is when I was
- 5:30jogging by uh. I think I just come back from school or whatever,
- 5:33and I was from from college and I was jogging by and I was like,
- 5:38what the F is this? And I went back into the playground.
- 5:42It was like evening, and I was like, this is amazing. And
- 5:45they still had gravel. They still had that, so they still there was
- 5:47still a potential for injury. Was it actual gravel or was it the soft
- 5:53pea river rock like, no, the river rock gravel. No, no,
- 5:57no, this was like like construction side gravel. Okay, good,
- 5:59because the gravel I grew up on, including the gravel driveway that I had,
- 6:03and that was what my dad taught me to ride a bike on,
- 6:08was jagged limestone quarry style. You know, there's a legitimate possibility of when
- 6:15you fall off this bike, you may never walk again type of ground.
- 6:18Yeah. Yeah, the good old fashioned kind of like there's probably still like
- 6:21quartz or limestone stuck in our body somewhere, Oh, no doubt. Absolutely.
- 6:27And that's the kind of thing, whether it was the gravel road we
- 6:30learned to ride a bike on or the rusty, sun scorched playground equipment.
- 6:34Not only did those things build character in us, also a large amount of
- 6:40scar tissue. Yes, you know, they say that the bone you break
- 6:44becomes the strongest bone in your body because of the calcification. So yeah,
- 6:47But then I went by I think another ten years later, and that's when
- 6:51they had replaced the gravel with the rubber all weather mats that went everywhere.
- 7:00So I mean like you could literally jump up in the air and fall flat
- 7:03on your face and it was like like landing on a cloud. And I
- 7:08was like the ground hugs you as you face the plat, I mean,
- 7:11you know, And I was like, oh, these kids are about to
- 7:13be bitches, like I thought about about two thousand and eight I called it.
- 7:16I was like, these kids about to be bitches. And you know
- 7:20what's interesting. I have never set foot on some of these newer playgrounds because
- 7:27you know, I don't have kids. I'm not, you know, running
- 7:29out there and playing on playground equipment with kids. During COVID, I worked
- 7:31out when all the gyms were closed on a couple of pieces of playground equipment.
- 7:35But the one I went to didn't have some of the advancements. I
- 7:40think that this new stuff has, Like there's there's a there's a park not
- 7:44far from where we live here, and I walked across it the other day
- 7:47to throw something in the trash can and on that mat that you're talking about
- 7:53RAJ where the playground equipment sits on top of. For us, that whole
- 7:57section was the break your neck. You no longer walk if you hit this
- 8:01gravel correctly area. That's what we grew up with. Now it is,
- 8:07it's like this. It's green like grass, but it's soft and spongy.
- 8:11It feels like one of those like the soft spot to land at a trampoline
- 8:15park. I mean it's it's I had no I thought it was going to
- 8:18be harder. Now it was. It Like I stepped foot on it and
- 8:20I was like, I would like shoes made of this. Yeah, I
- 8:22was. I remember bouncing on it, like just walking and I was like,
- 8:26oh, this is nice. It's almost like the playground was built on
- 8:28a bed of crocs. Yeah. And I and I and I do this
- 8:31in my stand up where I'm talking when I talk about the playgrounds that we
- 8:35had, Like I don't know if you guys are aware. It started in
- 8:37California. I know that, and it's working its way across the country.
- 8:41It'll get here eventually. But like the swing sets in California. I have
- 8:46to be adult supervised. I don't know if you knew that. Like you
- 8:50have to like there's like a clipboard like signing thing, so like if you
- 8:54put your kid on the swing set, you gotta sign like, hey,
- 8:56I'm standing and all. So if any other kids are on there or come
- 9:03up while you're kids swinging, you're responsible to watch them as well. No,
- 9:07no, I will not be responsible for anybody else is idiot child?
- 9:11Yeah? Did y'all have the the metal spin thing that you know? Well?
- 9:20But yeah, kind of it was around. It's like the one with
- 9:26the horses and you go up and down and everything's okay. The horse is
- 9:31going up and down, mirrors and music. That's a carousel, but you
- 9:35try to go around. Was the metal spinny thing with the bars. I
- 9:39also called it the kids spinner? Yeah, the one you spin as fast
- 9:43as you can so you can watch Tim fly off and break his arm.
- 9:45Yeah, that's that's always a good one. We had a we had a
- 9:48scot that's who I mean. We were going and he did the thing where
- 9:52he was like starfish and like let go of the the bar and like just
- 9:56did the whole thing where he laid in the middle like I'm a star fish
- 9:58and and he flew the f off that thing and oh my god, was
- 10:03it hilarious till he landed and I'm like, that's broke, and uh,
- 10:07yeah, that that'll happen. Yeah. We got to sign his cast,
- 10:11so that was really cool. I you know, it was like it was
- 10:15like it was like a soldier coming back from war. Like he came back
- 10:18to school a week later, We're like, that's him. Like it was.
- 10:22He was like a legends, Like that's that's the Scott that everybody's been
- 10:24talking about. He got the right and he got the ride in the the
- 10:26ambulance. Yeah. Uh. And then like he didn't write the name,
- 10:31it was mesquite brother. He didn't write an ambulance. They called his folks.
- 10:33Somebody came up and picked him and took him to the hospital. Probably
- 10:35my mom was working at uh. And then they they gave him a white
- 10:41cast like that white off white so that people could sign it because you had
- 10:45you had color choices. Uh. In the in the early eighties, they
- 10:48were they were starting to spruce up the cast so you can get like blue
- 10:52or red or green. And most people didn't realize it. It was just
- 10:54whatever the cast company sent the plaster would would be that color, but he
- 11:00had the off white, so we all got to sign it and that was
- 11:01really cool. I mean, so on supervised kids with a lot of metal
- 11:05and gravel, what could go wrong? Yeah, I mean I didn't have
- 11:11a good recess if I didn't get my leg caught in the tire pit thing.
- 11:16So you had like whatever the thing was called, when you had the
- 11:18wooden platform on one side, and then the tires that were attached by chains
- 11:24that went down and then back up like a ramp to another wooden platform,
- 11:30and the game was to jump from one platform to the other. And if
- 11:33you didn't make it, then you ended up in the in the lava with
- 11:35the tires. And if I didn't get one leg caught and dangle upside down
- 11:39at one point, then I didn't have a successful recess. I'm pretty sure
- 11:43you were just playing in the salvage yard. I don't think. I don't
- 11:46think you had a playground. I think they just took the adopted kids to
- 11:50like a dump, the one where they encouraged you to pet the junkyard dog
- 12:00that was just the guy's name. Go ahead and junkyard dog we call I
- 12:03mean his name is Steve, but we called him dog. Uh. It
- 12:07was like, this is where we burn the tires, but before we do,
- 12:09why don't you guys play around on him? But we've already let the
- 12:16match. Use your best judgment when you think, when you think playtime is
- 12:24over, We're going to find out who the fastest adopted kid is. You're
- 12:39listening to the Treehouse, visit us online that Treehouse on air dot com And
- 12:45in case anyone didn't pick it up from the context blues, I'm adopted.
- 12:48So for us to talk about all that stuff, eight three three cook df
- 12:58do. That's the phone number you need to reach Daniel Cook from cookidfw Roofing
- 13:03and Restoration the website cookidfw dot com. Daniel, are you really good at
- 13:09something that is difficult for others? Or maybe the opposite, something's really difficult
- 13:13for you that's easy for others. I'm gonna give you a couple examples,
- 13:16not to put you on the spot too much. Some people are really good
- 13:20at math, others struggle. Some people are really good at hula hooping,
- 13:24but struggle. I'm a hula hoop struggler. I don't know if you're a
- 13:26hula hoop fired dancer and uh or even chopsticks. I'm good at chopsticks,
- 13:31but I see other people struggle. Anything jump to your mind where you're like,
- 13:35oh, yeah, I'm great at that. What other people saw?
- 13:37I mean a couple things. I guess I stand out. If you ask
- 13:41Carrie, she always really gives me a lot of crap about my spelling.
- 13:46And I try to spell really well, but I guess sometimes easy words.
- 13:50I sometimes flip flop letters and it's it's just something small, and I catch
- 13:54myself and thank Goodness for spell check now and everything. So it doesn't make
- 13:58me look like a completed Well, as long as you get the roof on
- 14:01right side up, I think that's the main thing. And also you you
- 14:07missed an opportunity. So I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna pose the
- 14:11question to you again. Is there something you're really good at but others suck
- 14:13at? Well? Well, of course it's roofing, man, ruf construction
- 14:18in general, attention to detail, spelling, not so much. Everything else
- 14:22you got down every time, no problem at all. Give the man a
- 14:26call for that free roof inspection. You get a property walk about as well,

- 15:11DFW eight three three cook DFW and again the website cookdfw dot com. So
- 15:18during that break, I took a moment to draw the concussion box that I
- 15:24played with back in pre kindergarten slash kindergarten, because again I searched for it
- 15:31online couldn't find an example of this. This is as best as I can
- 15:35do. So right there is like a little my version of a see saw,
- 15:39and that's kind of the box. So that's the bars on one side,
- 15:43that's the open thing there, and then there would be another open side
- 15:48over there and then more bars on this side. So obviously, at least
- 15:52I was smart enough not to try to run through the bar side because I
- 15:56knew I wasn't going to fit between the bars. I was that was impossible.
- 16:00But I tried to run through this opening out through the other way,
- 16:03but I missed, and that's where I hit my head right there on that
- 16:04two by six. That's a that's a jail cell, Dan, Yeah,
- 16:11no, Trey. A jail cell is where they put criminals. This is
- 16:15an adopted kids c Yeah, this is an adopted kid because there's hope on
- 16:21the other side. Yeah, Trey. This was from uh, this was
- 16:27from Fisher Price. It was my first kennel, and I didn't know how
- 16:34to draw one of those little water spouts like like you give gerbils that just
- 16:38looks like like at every Van Dam movie where they house the POWs like that,
- 16:45that's what it looks like. They just you know what, Maybe that's
- 16:48what this was. Maybe this was maybe this plate. Maybe this piece of
- 16:51playground equipment was a piece of the set that they took from the Chuck Norris
- 16:56movie Missing an Action. Yes, that's what it is, or it's they
- 17:00actually have the dogs from the Salva jard sleep at night, like that's where
- 17:03they go where you're air quote teachers? Were they in white lab coats with
- 17:11nap with with with clipboards taking notes on the other side of it? Did
- 17:18you refer to your teachers as doctor so and so? Time to think of
- 17:26it. I do remember a couple of those. We were just told that
- 17:32they were they were supervising. Do you remember what your student number was?
- 17:41I'm pretty sure that's why you don't remember anything. They just wiped your memory
- 17:45solid. We didn't know about these experience. All I know is we all
- 17:48to this day Miss eleven. You think about her every day and hope she's
- 17:56fine and comes back to father. Did you guys all have special underwear?
- 18:12Dan was in a cult. I don't know if you can see this,
- 18:18but so my number was I wasn't good enough to have on the plus side
- 18:22of things like eleven. So you can see that my tattoo is negative to
- 18:33poor, poor, poor day. That's why he was always the big pencil
- 18:37kid. Yeah, we just had and I used to make fun of mesquite
- 18:45for our playground. But wherever you were, whatever outdoor lab. They had
- 18:49no remember it was indoor, and I think they were the game. Yeah,
- 18:53that's right, I forgot you were. They couldn't take a chance on
- 18:57defenses because then they got to bring those pesky callers back out buzz every time
- 19:07you get near the fence. Yeah, it was watching Arnold Swarzenegger's The Running
- 19:12Man was pretty triggering for me. I still remember the other Danny. There
- 19:19used to be two of us. Oh God, I love Fridays. So
- 19:32last episode we discussed the viral sensation known as Haktua Girl. And what was
- 19:41fascinating about this to me looking back on it, is that Trey introduced her
- 19:47to you and me, Raj. You and I had no idea when we
- 19:51went in to record the previous episode of the Treehouse who Hawktua Girl was,
- 19:56let alone, what Hawktua itself was. Yeah, we knew what that was,
- 20:00we just didn't know it by that particular name. And so Trey introduced
- 20:04Hawktua Girl to us, and I learned later that night, as I'm doom
- 20:08scrolling in bed, I was only two thumb swipes away on ex Twitter Twitter
- 20:15X whatever it is or Twitter triple X. Now, I was only two
- 20:19thumb swipes away from seeing it. So I was right. I was really
- 20:25really close to it. I was right on the edge. And then,
- 20:27like I said, Trey, you introduced a hawk to a girl to us.
- 20:30And I think before we get into now exploring the legend of Hawktua over
- 20:37the past handful of days, we should probably revisit the original video of the
- 20:45Hawkta girl and her friend being interviewed by YouTube guys Tim and Dee or something
- 20:52like that. And they were the ones that were walking around Nashville doing man
- 20:56on the street stuff and they were discussing. They were interviewing attractive girls and
- 21:03asking them provocative questions. And about eight minutes into their video, Uh,
- 21:08they came across, uh, these two white girls, and they interviewed them.
- 21:15This is for her. What you want to answer this? You got
- 21:19what's one move in bed that makes the man go crazy every time you give
- 21:23him that hawk dude spent all that night. I don't get you. I
- 21:30think you gotta demonstrate hawk dudes. So there you have, uh, and
- 21:41the legend and the legend of Hawk Toua was born. Yeah, there are
- 21:45some other, you know, questions she answered that are equally as dirty.
- 21:49Oh really, Yeah, Yeah, the full video is entertaining and I and
- 21:55you know, we can play more of it, but that's you know.
- 21:56You go to the Tim and D YouTube channel, you can see the whole
- 22:00video, including like this spitting. This is not the first time that the
- 22:06spinning thing was brought up on this particular episode, Like three or four minutes
- 22:08prior, there was a couple other girls talking about hey, spin on me,
- 22:12But this was the viral sensation they picked up on Hoctua And just like
- 22:18the thing that she's spitting on, her legend has grown since this has gone
- 22:27viral and she's become now a public viral sensation. Yeah, it's amazing in
- 22:36this day and age, how forty five seconds can ruin your life because now
- 22:44everybody they have they found out who she is and her name is Haley Welsh.
- 22:49Yes, that's that's who she is, and we are pretty sure that's
- 22:53her name. Yes, this is what they this is what the internet is
- 22:57saying. But yeah, I think the enthusiasm in which she demonstrated the sound
- 23:03is what made her go viral because she she was very she was very entertained
- 23:11by her own answer. So well, that's what I love about the original
- 23:15video. Is the guy originally asked the brunette first, and and Haktua Haley
- 23:21had walked away, and then the brunette friends like, hey, hey,
- 23:23you need to ask this question again. And this is a girl, you
- 23:26need to ask this question. She brings her over. That's why she says,
- 23:29she'll give the answer that you're looking for. Yeah, so she's given
- 23:33It's that means she's told that to the brunette. She's explained like, hey,
- 23:37you gotta you gotta do this. If if you want to have your
- 23:41own shirts in, then NETSI store exactly. So Ever since this has become
- 23:45what it is, which is the new viral sensation, give give Hoctua Haley
- 23:49Welch all the credit in the world. She has done more to unify this
- 23:53country politically than any candidate across the nation could ever dream. Okay, a
- 24:00man, Yes, I know, we've got presidential debates are starting. You've
- 24:04got Trump versus Biden, and Kennedy is looking from the outside in. And
- 24:11I guarantee you, if she wanted to hawk to, a girl could flap
- 24:15her way in the middle of this debate and win in a matter of thirty
- 24:18seconds. Yes, which that's one meme I did not see. I did,
- 24:23however, see a ton of other ones over the next couple of days,
- 24:26and I decided to compile a couple of these for you guys in case
- 24:30you had missed some of them, because I thought these are some of my
- 24:33favorites. I want to share some of these with my buddies Raj and Trey.
- 24:41So this is a collection here, Like I said, some of my
- 24:44favorite Hawkta girl memes inside the treehouse. We will begin with the meme of
- 24:52Ben Affleck outside smoking a cigarette in his blue sweater with the caption Hawk to
- 24:56his Dad right now and probably forever. And I will follow that up with
- 25:03that. That was one of the first ones I saw. Then another one.
- 25:07Hang on a second, what is that tray, I've got a a
- 25:15political video of for Hawk toa okay okay uh after Ben Affleck as Hawk toa
- 25:26Dad, I've got the Iowa hawktas with the logo of the Hawks kidding.
- 25:33That's brilliant. I guess Gray hadn't seen that one. This would also work
- 25:36for any other for any other Hawk mascot, So if the Atlanta Hawks,
- 25:41I'm sure there's one for them. Yeah. If if the eagle was smart
- 25:47they would have done one, but I don't. I didn't look because I
- 25:48don't care. Also, staying with the sports theme, people got to printing
- 25:56their hawk Tua stuff pretty quickly, including hockey jerseys with Hawktua on the back
- 26:00and the number twenty four okay, hockey sweaters okay, and then the hawktucn
- 26:07from Street Fighters, which is which is another one of my favorites. Again,
- 26:17these are these are also of my favorites. And then uh and then
- 26:22Hawktua girl single handedly destroying Pride Month. So if you're unfamiliar with the school
- 26:30bus driving across the railroad tracks in front of a train meme, the bus
- 26:36is Pride Month and the train is Hoktua Girl demolishing it. Which, let's
- 26:42be honest, I'm I'm pretty sure the LGBTQ community, although mainly the male,
- 26:48I'm sure they've got a handle on on on the hawking thing. I
- 26:51don't think that's a streets only type of deal. Another one of my favorites
- 26:56is the Avenger Hawktuah spin on that thing movie poster Can She Save the Marvel
- 27:03Cinematic Universe? Along with Hawktua the Disney movie where it's cartoon Hawktua with her
- 27:11pet hawk on her shoulder. Ah, that's that's not right. It's gonna
- 27:18get worse. It's gonna be a musical, of course it is. And
- 27:22then one of my favorites also the hawk to a debit card, because you
- 27:26can get whatever image you want to put on a debit card. Yep.
- 27:29So he got three three photos of Hawk tour Girl spitting on it with you
- 27:33know her catch, raise and spit on that thing. And then we roll
- 27:34into the original Hawkta Girl Monica Clinton photo. I mean, you gotta give
- 27:45props to the ogs, right, I mean you have to. You have
- 27:48to. You got it, you gotta. You gotta give it up to
- 27:52You have to respect your elders. You have to respect those who came before

- 29:10cetera. If you've got to stoppage on the mainline and you don't know and
- 29:15you keep putting liquid or you know, waste into the drains, if it

- 30:30when you need to call in the professionals at Brooks Plumbing. Of course,
- 30:36now I'm thinking that would make for an excellent plumbing company. Hawktua plumbing.
- 30:41Spin on the thing? Sure, unclugged your pug? Yeah? Clear?
- 30:48All clogs? All right, let's quit messing around. Let's get into what's
- 30:55most important on a Friday, and that is, of course birthdays. Hip.
- 31:00Because while I've got important news to tell you about a banshee killing,
- 31:03a man, protests gone wild, double dipping surgeons, it's important that we
- 31:10first get birthdays into our system. Birthdays today again. The day is day
- 31:18June twenty eighth, twenty twenty four. Birthdays today. Kelly Pickler, country
- 31:26singer. She is thirty eight. She came in sixth place on American Idol,
- 31:30and she won season sixteen of Dancing with the Stars. Yeah for her.
- 31:37Also Rob Deerdick, skateboarding star of MTV's Robin Big. He is fifty
- 31:42TESLA and SpaceX CEO worth at time of this recording two hundred and thirty ish
- 31:49billion dollars. Elon Musk is fifty three today. And I did notice that
- 31:56over the last a handful of days, the place to go for all your
- 32:00hawk Tua memes was absolutely Triple X Twitter, which is, you know,
- 32:09since Elon basically lifted any parental controls, now they're going bring on the porn
- 32:15bots whatever. But that's where that's where I saw all the good hawk to
- 32:17of memes. That's where I've seen practically any good memes lately. Maybe it's
- 32:22because I don't scroll Facebook enough, or maybe my Instagram algorithm is a little
- 32:27too classy. Well, I think Instagram and and and Facebook will kick you
- 32:31off if it's too elicit a content. Some of the people that are on
- 32:38the Treehouse follow follow he list, Yeah, but I think it's a I
- 32:44think that's why he kind of is capitalizing on the Well, they won't let
- 32:46you show it there, I'll let you do it here. And maybe that
- 32:52maybe that you know what it is. Maybe it's just kind of what I've
- 32:54I've ignorantly done to tweak my own personal algorithm on the different platforms. Right,
- 33:02So, like on the Treehouse Instagram page, I'll see certain stuff,
- 33:07or on the feed, I'll see certain things. On my personal Instagram,
- 33:12it might be slightly different. Same thing on Twitter, my personal Twitter versus
- 33:15the show Twitter is a little bit different feeds. And on Facebook that's where
- 33:19it's typically I'm still seeing mostly friends doing things. Instagram is a lot of
- 33:23you know, some friends doing things, but also looking at the saliness that
- 33:27Raj has posted recently. And then Twitter is where I go for like the
- 33:30really jacked up, silly, like far out there stuff that I can't see
- 33:34anywhere else. Okay, I don't know if your particular activities have made it
- 33:40to our Your Facebook, your Instagram, your Twitter, your TikTok all seem
- 33:45like different experiences. Maybe, like I said, maybe that's just what I've
- 33:46done inadvertently. Yeah, I don't check the TikTok stuff, and I don't
- 33:52use x that much, so it's kind of whatever my old stuff used to
- 33:58show. But yeah, I can see what you're talking about. It's a
- 34:01it varies depending on the platform. Gotcha? So elon musk is fifty three
- 34:07today trade? Did you have something else? Oh? I was said,
- 34:09I don't think I've corrupted my Twitter feed like I have everything else. So
- 34:13we got still pretty much just like news and sports. That's so weird because
- 34:20of all the platforms, my Twitter is the one that is absolutely the most
- 34:23corrupted. See. It goes to show that the platform will show you what
- 34:30you look at individually on each platform, which I'm glad for because I'm glad
- 34:37that I don't see the same stuff on Instagram or anything else that I see
- 34:40on Twitter. I like to go to Twitter because I know what I'm gonna
- 34:43get. It's gonna be some weird shit. And it used to not be
- 34:46that. I used to go there for breaking news and stuff. Now I
- 34:50go there for the weird stuff. It's a nine month shift since he's taken
- 34:52over. It's like, what's the grossest shit you can see? Twitter?
- 34:58It used to be TikTok, who knew the Chinese would come out new classier
- 35:05than he? One. Oh, let's see Denver Broncos legend and eventual Super
- 35:14Bowl winning quarterback John Elway is sixty four. Uh, phenomenal actress and friend
- 35:21of our friend. Tone Bell therefore is a friend of ours. Kathy Bates
- 35:25is seventy six today and finally celebrating his ninety eighth birthday. Legendary filmmaker Bell
- 35:32Brooks. Wow, we're talking about the man that gave us Young Frankenstein,
- 35:37Blazing Saddles, History of the World, Part One, the Producers, and
- 35:42of course one of my personal favorites of his Spaceball yep, which, if
- 35:50you have not heard, it has been confirmed they are doing a space Ball's
- 35:53the sequel. Wow. How bad. Does Rick morandas need work? Actually,
- 36:00you know he quit He actually quit acting to take care of his kids
- 36:02after his wife passed away. Was that what it was? Yeah? It
- 36:07was everything for Rick moranis has been completely intentional. It wasn't that his career
- 36:12bombed out or anything. It was quite the opposite. Like Trey said,
- 36:15his wife passed away and he stepped away from it. I feel shitty.
- 36:19I take that. Well done, Rick Moranas. But of all, if
- 36:22you want a Netflix has a wonderful Gene Wilder documentary, and but it's got
- 36:28a lot of milk. I mean, obviously mel Brooks had a huge part
- 36:30of his career. So if you like mel Brooks, it's a yeah.
- 36:35I was watching History of the World Part one the other day. That's one
- 36:37of my fair Like The Last Supper is one of my favorite, like parts
- 36:40of that where he's the waiter. So is everybody gonna have soup? Let
- 36:52me just ask one more questions? Are we all on one check? I
- 37:00really need to my list for films that I need to revisit. And Rewatch
- 37:06is growing exponentially, and that's that's what I need to add to my list.
- 37:09Comes down, He's like I bring you these fifteen and he drops one
- 37:14of the ten commandments from the Lord. It's just so brilliant. Happy ninety
- 37:22eighth birthday to mel Brooks. What a legend. Uh. And and you
- 37:27can't bring up the fact that it's Melbrooks's birthday without mentioning Blazing Saddles, and
- 37:31without then mentioning what you always have to say whenever you mentioned Blazing Saddles in
- 37:37the twenty first century, which is you cannot make that movie today. It's
- 37:42a sad, sad fact, but I just don't think you can unless you
- 37:46alter the material enough to where it absolutely fits more in line with today's stuff.
- 37:52Because you can't, then you cannot lean in as heavy on the racist
- 37:55stuff that Blazing Saddles made fun of back then. And like you, you
- 38:00know, it just doesn't work today. And let me ask this, it's
- 38:04because I believe that stuff like this is cyclical, like it'll come back around
- 38:07at some point. Do you think we'll get back to where we can do
- 38:10stuff like this because that was just hilarious. I just don't know, I
- 38:19really don't know, because it's like it's like history, right, the reason
- 38:22you're taught history is so you don't repeat it in this case, though,
- 38:25there are things that I would like to have never seen come back into style,
- 38:30like tight rolling pants and hypercolor clothing. But fashion is definitely cyclical.
- 38:37That stuff has come back around. So I've I don't know, you couldn't
- 38:40make Tropic Thunder, which that was just twenty years ago. That's true.
- 38:44I mean, I'll say this about Blazing Saddles, and it would have to
- 38:49be uh, a non white person that made the movie, like mel Brooks,
- 38:53you know, even as much as love. So if it's like Chae
- 39:00Jordan, so Jordan Peele made Blazing Saddles, I think he could probably get
- 39:07away with it. I think. So all right, let's put that into
- 39:12the universe and let's see what happened. I don't think he would, That's
- 39:16just that was just a I mean, you couldn't think about all in the
- 39:20family. You couldn't make that. You can't do that today. The Jeffersons
- 39:22you can't do today. No, I mean all of it. I mean,
- 39:24just yeah, and no, I I agree, I agree, you
- 39:30know, and I again, like I go, but like I posted something
- 39:34today. It was on my Instagram and somebody immediately had to comment about so
- 39:38I posted this. It's a commercial from Denmark about a guy who's drinking the
- 39:42two boorg beer and as he takes there's a there's a very there's a lady
- 39:46across having a coffee and she's just very like. She's dressed down and the
- 39:51hair's in a ponytail, make up, no makeup, and as he keeps
- 39:53drinking, she gets hotter. And I was like, this is what they
- 39:55mean by beer goggles. And then somebody comments like, this is exactly what
- 39:59we're talking about. Where this guy, this lady's minding her own business and
- 40:02this guy is just doing this and I was like, dude, they're both
- 40:05actors. They read the script. Nobody got harmed in the making of this
- 40:07hilarious commercial. Relax. I don't think the younger generations understand satire. I
- 40:16will agree with you, I will agree. That's why no comics want to
- 40:20do colleges anymore. That's why we don't because they don't understand that the stories
- 40:24that we tell, although based in fact, there's the punchlines, can be
- 40:29a little exaggerated, or the story can be a little bit longer than it
- 40:31actually was. And they think everything is literal and everything is factual, and
- 40:37we are awful people, so pass I'll just keep telling jokes to everybody our
- 40:43generation. That's probably the smart way to go anyway, because it's not like
- 40:47that. It's not like those kids got any money to spend on tickets to
- 40:52your show anyway. That's true. That is true, like the like but
- 40:55the but then but then the flip side of this weird shit is is that
- 41:00the hot Ta Girl can be viral and it's and it's every across the board
- 41:06like well, look, it's like I said in a previous episode, these
- 41:08things happen like a pendulum, right, So you might have some advancements in
- 41:13some areas like mental health, but then you might evolve in other areas,
- 41:17like say senses of humor. Yeah, so we've had advancements in mental health,
- 41:23but the younger generations just just not as funny as we are. I
- 41:28agree, And so that pendulum, it kind of swings back and forth.
- 41:31Yeah, so you'll get some stuff that will advance in other things that will
- 41:36you know, regress. Yeah. I hope that somebody just pushes the pendulum
- 41:38far enough toward it, like like the thing you're expecting, like the conquistador
- 41:42at the fair, like you're kind of expecting it, like when it gets
- 41:44up that highlight flip over. Yeah, well that's kind of waiting for it.
- 41:46So I'm hoping somebody pushes the pendulum far enough to where it goes around
- 41:51and it re resets, because that would be kind of fun. That also
- 41:54would also that ride really really awesome and dangerous because some people are well,
- 42:02because some people are not going to have secured the bar across their lap properly.
- 42:07Yes, there's gonna be the adopted kids that run into metal book wooden
- 42:10boxes. Trust me, the adopted kids. We know how to hang on
- 42:14to that metal bar. We learned from an early age. You're in therese
- 42:24visit us online a Treehouse on Air dot com. You're in the Treehouse.

- 43:23he's seen all week. And then Raj, you can have one as well

- 44:01me and Trey's favorite hawk two of things, and Raj you can have one
- 44:06or something completely different, does not matter, but I'm saving it for that,
- 44:08all right, Okay, Okay. Plus that means also I get to
- 44:13a share some fun news stories that we found and I'm glad that we uh
- 44:22we mentioned roller coasters just a few minutes ago, But this is another lesson
- 44:32that we all can learn, not just in the story itself, but in
- 44:37how not to write a headline. Okay, the headline I am referring to
- 44:45is thirty eight year old man dies after being hit by Banshee at King's Island.
- 44:52Okay, when I read that, my first thought was this head the
- 44:59headline to be Banshees are real and they're killing people. Was it the roller
- 45:05coaster ride the Banshee? I believe it is a roller coaster ride, because
- 45:07if you're from this particular area of Ohio, or you've traveled to that area
- 45:12enough to where it sounds like Raj may have for his stand up comedy,
- 45:15you would know King's Island is a theme park with roller coasters, and the
- 45:20Banshee is a roller coaster that killed a dude. Now it's how he was
- 45:25killed by the Banshee roller coaster. That is the lesson that we all can
- 45:29learn, okay, and that is if you drop your keys on a roller
- 45:32coaster ride, do not sneak into a restricted area access and try to grab
- 45:42your keys while sticking your head up into the oncoming path of said Banshee roller
- 45:47coaster. Wow. See this headline originally read thirty eight year old man critically
- 45:58injured after being hit by ban and she a King's Island. But since I
- 46:01hit refresh. He has since passed, which is sad. But again,
- 46:07when when when when the ride staff tells you they can't stop the ride and
- 46:13you'll have to wait until the end of the day for them to turn it
- 46:15off to where it's safe for anyone to retrieve your keys, listen to them
- 46:21mm hmm, or do what I do and don't ride roller coasters also that
- 46:29m hm, because they're stupid. And this is what happens. And here's
- 46:36the thing. You will never, ever, in the history of ever see
- 46:39a headline that says Rasharma dies after getting hit by Benshi roller coaster. Never
- 46:46nor will you ever read rash Arma dies in tragic skiing accident. Nope,
- 46:52ras Sharma dies in bungee accident. Nope, he owed somebody money. That's
- 46:55what the headline should read, so they strapped him to auber band. No,
- 47:02not gonna happen. You know what, I like Earth, never had
- 47:06a problem with it. I don't know why were you always that way?
- 47:08Raj like roller coaster averse, adventures sport averse because I love that stuff as
- 47:17a kid. As a kid, Give me the roller coaster, give me
- 47:21the water slide. When I lost weight and wasn't so fat that I got
- 47:23stuck on it, which did happen one time I talked about this. I'm
- 47:30gonna save that for another episode. But the older I got, the less
- 47:36interested I was in roller coasters, and the more afraid of heights and fast
- 47:39moving things that I could not control just did not seem attractive to me anymore.
- 47:44Like water slides, like the enclosed ones, but like when when it
- 47:47was whitewater or whatever it was across from six wives, when they had the
- 47:52one that was just open and it was straight, that was like I think
- 47:54it was called the tsunami before they changed it, but it was just straight
- 47:59down, like six foot dropped straight down. I'm like, I don't I'm
- 48:01giving you money. Why are you trying to kill me? I don't understand
- 48:06the goal of our relationship, and so and again I've said this before,
- 48:09I'll say it again. I've never had a problem with the earth. I
- 48:14like what it does. It's solid, my feet are on all day long.
- 48:16Hasn't ever let me out. You have a healthy respect for gravity.
- 48:20I do because it is undefeated. Yes, Newton was onto something and I
- 48:30haven't tested his theory since then. I'm like, you know, what that
- 48:32guy when an apple hit him on the head, boom, got it.
- 48:36He figured it out. I'm good here. Never had an issue with the
- 48:38Earth. Never like let's skydive. No, you're in somebody else's hood.
- 48:44They like that. You say you've never had any issues with the Earth,
- 48:46But I guarantee you there are a handful of people throughout time and throughout history
- 48:53that have been swallowed by sinkholes by the Earth. That would beg to differ.
- 48:59Yeah, But then and again that's kind of I mean, I can't
- 49:01control that weird phenomenon. But like, if you're on a golf course,
- 49:05there was one that happened where the guys got saved because his buddy last minute
- 49:08reacted and caught his like held onto his club and pulled him out of a
- 49:13sinkhole. First of all, that's a good buddy and he never has to
- 49:15pay for drinks again. But also, you built a golf course and didn't
- 49:19check to see if there was a potential for sinkhole. I'm just saying.
- 49:22I'm just saying I haven't ever and knocked on the wood, I've never been
- 49:27in a situation where sinkhole has happened. But they do terrify me because what
- 49:30do you do? You just nothing you can do? Yeah, And while
- 49:35while developers have run amuck over the years, I do applaud the fact that
- 49:39they have not yet put a golf course in the middle of Yellowstone. You
- 49:47said yet. I said yet, very intentionally, because you know, the
- 49:52guys are on seven is going to be really tempting. It's a water speaking
- 50:00of sinkholes. There's something do We all grow up with a a healthy fear
- 50:07of quicksand only to find that really, yes, not only quicksand, but
- 50:10thanks to the never ending story, a real fear of mud. Oh yeah,
- 50:15that poor horse. Yeah, but quicksand is real, isn't y.
- 50:21Yeah, yeah, it's just not as prevalent as we were made to believe
- 50:22it was. Oh yeah, that was the one thing that right there.
- 50:27That was our babysitter when we were kids. Today, kids can't go anywhere
- 50:30without eyes on them at all times. Right, Our babysitter as kids was
- 50:35well, don't go too far, there's quicksand out in them woods. Our
- 50:39babysitter was fear. Yeah, yeah, I just didn't. Yeah, I'm
- 50:51good with I don't skydive, I don't swim in the Ocean. I don't
- 50:53roller coaster. Here's my favorite roller coaster moment. It's when the Titan first
- 51:00opened at six Flags over Texas. Here in Dallas. My buddy Eric mccocha
- 51:04and I are driving and we have to go about forty miles past six small
- 51:08little town I can't remember. We had to go pick up some stuff and
- 51:12he's like, the Titan opens today, and I'm like yeah, and he's
- 51:14like, would you ever ride it? I was like nope. He goes,
- 51:15I'll give you ten bucks. I was like no, he goes one
- 51:17hundred. He said no. He goes, I'll give you one thousand dollars
- 51:22if you ride the Titan with me, and I said no, and he
- 51:24upped it to this. He goes ten grand. And now we're nearing six
- 51:30Flags and there are helicopters everywhere, and I was like, huh, I
- 51:35wonder what's going on. That's when the ride stalled at the very top at
- 51:38this angle, so they had to get everybody off one by one and everybody
- 51:44had to walk down and I was like, see, that will never happen
- 51:47to me, not even for ten grand, because now you're up like this,
- 51:52so all the blood flow is going to get really really complicated. So
- 51:55who do you get off first? The guy's in the back or the guys
- 51:58at the top? No, don't care, never gonna happen to me.
- 52:01I know. The whole time in that story, I'm like, I would
- 52:05as much as I don't like roller coasters anymore. And the last second to
- 52:07last roller coaster I rode was the Titan on opening day. M M.
- 52:12I would absolutely ride that thing for ten grand, But after hearing the rest
- 52:15of the story, I'll up. Paul Harvey. I've seen video of the
- 52:22roller coaster workers walking down those things. I couldn't do it. I would
- 52:25just have to tell them, no, you're just gonna have to fix the
- 52:29ride and slowly inch me down with my butt firmly planted in this chair.
- 52:32I cannot walk down that thing. And the steps are like, I mean,
- 52:37this is just I mean, you're I mean, it's just all it's
- 52:39the same, it's the same angle all thinking about doing it, but yeah
- 52:44no, And like like people walk across the Sydney Bridge like in Australia and
- 52:49I'm like, no, why what are you doing? Will they strap you
- 52:52in? Okay? Good, I don't need to be strapped into something.
- 52:55What are we doing? Yeah, because at that point, the Titan becomes
- 52:59the Dangler, and I'm gonna want a lot more than ten thousand dollars to
- 53:06take that ride. Dan has flashbacks to the childhood I really really want I
- 53:16really should not have gone on summer vacation to adopted Land. Also, which
- 53:29twisted mffort came up with an amusement park like that. It's the saddest.
- 53:38It's a small world ride. It's just one kid in a boat, aimlessly
- 53:45floating, looking for parents. It's a sad world. My foster mom,
- 54:05I want to ride the home. Oh the whack of Mole is actually just
- 54:14called foster mom. Little kids popping out and hit him on the I like
- 54:22it. I like this place. And Doctor is a place we should build.
- 54:24Oh God help us all. Oh we'll see you next time. In Secretary
