Fones Road in Olympia’s south end is getting a major upgrade—and it’s staying closed longer than expected. Starting this week, the road is shut down daily through Friday for concrete work, with only residents allowed through. After that, partial closures will run Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4 PM, stretching into September. Flaggers will assist locals during work hours, while the road reopens at night.
