Transcript
- Lucas: Hey there, and welcome back to Learn Swedish with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Episode 140, can you believe it? Lucas: I know, right? We've covered so much. And today we're going somewhere we haven't been in a while — the pharmacy. Luna: Oh, good idea. Like if you have a headache or something. Lucas: Exactly. So let's start with the most common thing: telling someone you have a headache. In Swedish, that's 'Jag har ont i huvudet.' Say it with me: Jag har ont i huvudet. Luna: Jag har ont i huvudet. Lucas: Yeah. 'Ont' means pain, 'huvudet' is the head. So literally 'I have pain in the head.' Good. Luna: So if I say 'Jag har ont i huvudet,' people will know I need help? Lucas: Absolutely. Then you can ask 'Har ni något mot huvudvärk?' — 'Do you have anything for headache?' Let's hear it: Har ni något mot huvudvärk? Luna: Har ni något mot huvudvärk? Lucas: Yeah. 'Mot' means 'for' or 'against' in this context. 'Huvudvärk' is headache. Luna: So I walk in, say 'Jag har ont i huvudet', then 'Har ni något mot huvudvärk?' Lucas: Perfect. And the pharmacist might show you something. Then you say 'Jag tar en tablett' — 'I'll take one tablet.' Let's try: Jag tar en tablett. Luna: Jag tar en tablett. Lucas: Good. 'Tablett' is tablet or pill. And they'll probably say 'Ta en tablett med vatten' — 'Take one tablet with water.' Repeat: Ta en tablett med vatten. Luna: Ta en tablett med vatten. Lucas: Yes. And after you take it, you can say 'Det känns bättre nu' — 'It feels better now.' Let's practice that: Det känns bättre nu. Luna: Det känns bättre nu. Lucas: Exactly. 'Känns' is feels, 'bättre' is better. So let's put it all together in a little scene. I'm the pharmacist. You come in. Luna: Okay. Hej, jag har ont i huvudet. Har ni något mot huvudvärk? Lucas: Ja, här har du en tablett. Ta en tablett med vatten. Luna: Tack. Jag tar en tablett.... Det känns bättre nu. Lucas: Fantastic! You did it. Now, one more time from the top. Repeat after me: Jag har ont i huvudet. Luna: Jag har ont i huvudet. Lucas: Har ni något mot huvudvärk? Luna: Har ni något mot huvudvärk? Lucas: Jag tar en tablett. Luna: Jag tar en tablett. Lucas: Ta en tablett med vatten. Luna: Ta en tablett med vatten. Lucas: Det känns bättre nu. Luna: Det känns bättre nu. Lucas: You know, if Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with Swedish, and today's lesson was worth a coffee to you, that's the link — buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Keep practicing, and we'll see you next time. Hej då! Luna: Hej då!
