- 4:43of Live Again. On this evening, the show is going to be dedicated
- 4:50to my son who passed away in two thousand and nine. His passing is
- 4:59the reason and that Born and Live Again was born because I wanted people to
- 5:06know that after such a traumatic loss that you can live again. So on
- 5:14tonight, I'm gonna talk a little bit about the stages of grief, what
- 5:20I went through with losing my son, and also I have two people who
- 5:29are very very close to my son, and they're gonna come on tonight to
- 5:32share some memories that they have of Tai shan Allah, Lawrence, Nervous Thomas,
- 5:42my son. In two thousand and nine, I faced the worst thing
- 5:48that any parent could ever go through. I had to bury my son.
- 5:56It was something that I never thought that I could through, that I can
- 6:00make it through. But grief is universal. This point in everybody's life where
- 6:08you're going to face grief, sorrows, trials, and tribulations, and you
- 6:14go through many, many emotions when you suffer the loss of a loved one.
- 6:19And what I found after I had my stroke and through my divorce is
- 6:26that you go through those stages of grief. Whenever you lose a part of
- 6:31yourself, a loved one, a relationship, You'll go through the stages of
- 6:38grief each time you suffer a loss. So there are five stages of grief.
- 6:47The first one is denial. When my son passed away, and the
- 6:58doctor told me that he did everything that he could do. But I'm supposed
- 7:05to be planning for his college graduation. I'm supposed to be planning for his
- 7:13marriage, for him having children. I am not supposed to be he burying
- 7:21my son. That it was just a bad dream that I wanted to wake
- 7:27up from the nightmare. But each day that I woke up, I realized
- 7:30that it wasn't a dream, that it was real. So I went through
- 7:38denial, and then after denial state, I got angry. I was upset.
- 7:45I was even though I hold a title in church. I've been going
- 7:48to church most of my life, and I know to be absent from the
- 7:51body is present with the Lord. But when it's your child, when it's
- 7:56your baby, you just don't understand that at the moment when people come to
- 8:01you and say, at least he's in a better place, you're thinking in
- 8:05your mind, or I was thinking in my mind, if he's in such
- 8:09a better place, why no your son or your daughter go to the better
- 8:15place. And then you ten angry that I thought that I was the worst
- 8:18person in the world because I was having these thoughts that someone would tell me
- 8:24that their grandfather who was ninety five years old. He had a heart attack
- 8:31and he survived, and I would be upset. I would be like angry
- 8:35with God, like why did you save him? But you didn't say my
- 8:39son and he was only eighteen years old. His whole life was in front
- 8:46of him. But you know, that's the anger stage. And then I
- 8:50went through the bargain and stage where I made bargains with God. I said,
- 8:58God, you know if you hadn't took him that, you know,
- 9:01I'll come to church and all these deals that I tried to make with God.
- 9:05And then after the bargaining stage is the stage of depression. That's when
- 9:11I didn't want to get out of bed. On April thirteen was his first
- 9:18birthday when he was in heaven, and I remember taking a handful of pills
- 9:28and pouring them in my hand and saying, this is it. I'm gonna
- 9:33spend my son's birthday with him. Because everybody wants to spend their children's birthday
- 9:39with them. You want to make sure they're having the birth best birthday ever.
- 9:43And I couldn't leave it up to anyone to make sure that he was
- 9:48enjoying his day. So I wanted to take those pills so I could go
- 9:52with him. And you know how they say that you hear God in a
- 9:56still voice, Well, in a still voice, I heard, if you
- 10:01do it, you'll never see him again again, because he was saved and
- 10:07he's with me. And I put the pills back in the bottle, and
- 10:11I only took two of the pills, and I went to sleep, and
- 10:15I slept that day away. So I was suppressed. I didn't want to
- 10:18get up, I didn't want to get dressed. I forced myself to go
- 10:24back to work so that I went. I couldn't spend the whole days sad
- 10:30because my children was dependent on me. And just before this show came on
- 10:37tonight, I found that a woman who used to work in my classroom that
- 10:45helped me get through the death of my son, Grandma Young, that she
- 10:50passed away on today at when one fifteen this morning. She went to her
- 10:56eternal home. And so I'm feeling the little I'm in those stages of grief
- 11:01again because even though Grandma was ninety seven years old, I still wasn't ready
- 11:07to leave her. And then the last stage that you go through is acceptances.
- 11:13You accept that he's really dead and he's not coming back. And that's
- 11:18when you turn your pain into passion. And that's when I started to tie
- 11:24show on Thomas Scholarship Fund so that other black boys that were raised in single
- 11:33homes could go to college and pay for their books or something. It starts
- 11:41off now that it's small, but we shouldn't with small beginnings. We shouldn't
- 11:48despise more beginnings. That's what it says, that we shouldn't despise more beginnings
- 11:52because everything that got big started small. So since I finally was in the
- 11:58steps that then, you know what, grief has no time limit. You
- 12:01can't no one can tell you how long you can grieve, like nobody can
- 12:07say, oh, you can grieve for five minutes of five days, or
- 12:11ten days or ten years. Because you know what, I finally got in
- 12:15acceptance stage. My son's been dead fourteen years and I just got got in
- 12:22this acceptance stage ten years ago. So as of late, I've given out
- 12:35fifteen scholarships and I started the last year giving out the scholarship to girls just
- 12:43because my son loved her and she ended up doing the COVID losing her mother,
- 12:50so I gave her the scholarship that year the sense of COVID and you
- 12:54know, I had a stroke two years ago. So the scholarship fund has
- 13:00been on poorse but years this to too worthy people who want to go to
- 13:07college because my son, My son was a scholar. He was loved by
- 13:15everyone that there was. There was standing room room only. They opened the
- 13:22balcony, they opened the downstairs. There was people standing out outside. And
- 13:28it wasn't because I'm a minister, I'm an elder that people were there.
- 13:33They were there because of him. At eighteen years old, he was saved,
- 13:39sanctified and filled with the precious Holy ghost. He wasn't playing church.
- 13:45He was about the church. Matter of fact, one of my funniest stories
- 13:48that I remember about my son is that he had gotten in trouble in school.
- 13:56So I told him to apolog to the teacher and he was like,
- 14:01nope, I'm not gonna apologize to the teacher because he can't teach. I'm
- 14:05talking in class because I'm explaining to everybodyody how to do the problem. And
- 14:11he's mad because they understand me, but they don't understand him, and I'm
- 14:16not apologizing, so I joy him. You have to let the teacher do
- 14:18his job. So you, the teacher is I'm threatened to fail you.
- 14:24If you don't apologize, you're graduating this year. And he was like,
- 14:28Nope, I'm not gonna apologize. So then I said to him, well
- 14:31if you and tell you apologize, you can't go back back to church.
- 14:35And then we both started dying laughing because he said, Mom, how many
- 14:43people who are ministers tell their child that you punished by not being able to
- 14:50go to church? And we just laughed. But the only reason I used
- 14:54that because that was the only thing that he cared about was going to church.
- 14:58I could take his TV away, his phone away, or whatever.
- 15:01He didn't care as long as I didn't take try to take Jesus from him.
- 15:07So that's one of the things that gives me conforting now is that I
- 15:11know he was saved and the same energy when the enemy told me that I'll
- 15:18never preach again. How can I be the president of the youth's apartment when
- 15:22my son was dead? But then God gave me the revelation that pour into
- 15:28your pour into everybody else's child, everything that you poured into your son.
- 15:35Because your son was only eighteen, but he was already a deacon on Saturday
- 15:39mornings, he would get up early and spend the whole day at church cleaning
- 15:45the church. He would get up early Sunday morning and go to church and
- 15:50make sure that heat was on in the winter and the ally dedicated to God.
- 15:58So God told me to use that same energy. It's not just about
- 16:07your child being ready, but for everybody's child that you come into contact with
- 16:15to be ready when Jesus comes. So the losing my son was one of
- 16:21the worst things that anybody could ever go through. The pain is so unbearable,
- 16:29and as people tell you that it gets better with time, you learn
- 16:34how to live through it. You I gave myself the reason why I named
- 16:41this podcast live Again, because I finally gave myself permission to live again.
- 16:51I said, your son would have wanted you to go on living. He
- 16:55didn't want you to die on February thirteenth, two thousand and not with him.
- 17:00He wanted you to go on. He had already fulfilled his purpose in
- 17:07life. The lives that he touched over the eighteen years that he was on
- 17:15this earth, it was awesome, like I can't even explain it. There
- 17:21were so many bishops and elders and ministers at his funeral that the place couldn't
- 17:30contain all the clergy. And like I said, they wasn't there because of
- 17:33me, they were there because of him. And after he passed away,
- 17:38a lot of my friends were calling me and telling me that that last week
- 17:45before he died, he called them and he had so many profound conversations with
- 17:52them about Jesus and Heaven. And I remember the last before he passed away,
- 18:02every time he got into my mom's car, he was playing to Murkkirkland's
- 18:06family as long as Jesus is there. And I remember one night he was
- 18:11standing in my room and I was looking at him and he was looking at
- 18:15me, like, you know, it was weird how he was looking at
- 18:19me. And I was telling him, you know, if anything ever happened
- 18:25to you, I don't think that I could live, and he was like
- 18:30just looking at me and he didn't say anything. And then the last words
- 18:34that he put out was when I I started I started believing, and I
- 18:44stopped stressing and started believing. That's it. I stopped stressing and started believing.
- 18:48And that's when he just It's like he knew that he was going to
- 19:02die and he was ready to make that transition. And on the night that
- 19:07he passed away, him and my sister had a very special bond that he
- 19:14thought my sister was superwoman, that there was nothing that his Auntie couldn't do.
- 19:21So his last words to me was call Auntie. Call Auntie. And
- 19:27I was like, Okay, I'm gonna call her. I'm gonna wait till
- 19:32we get to the hospital, and then I'm gonna call her. I hated
- 19:34that I didn't call her when he said call her because he would have been
- 19:41still alive and she would have saw him alive. But she He just knew
- 19:48that nothing he couldn't go through without his Auntie. So he was a very
- 19:52very special young man. He didn't die the violence. He wasn't a violent
- 19:59kid. He was just he just fulfilled his purpose on earth because he was
- 20:04a wonderful son. He never talked back back to me, never gave me
- 20:12any trouble. He didn't like running the streets. He liked, like I
- 20:18said, going to church. That made it over the years. That made
- 20:22it a lot easier. In the beginning, didn't make it easier. No,
- 20:26you didn't want to like I said. You didn't want to hear all
- 20:29those things like he's in a better place and you can have more kids.
- 20:37You didn't want to hear all of that because I wanted him. I missed
- 20:41them terribly. Every day I missed them. And someone is telling me a
- 20:49story about something that they remember about Tied, showing how intelligent he was far
- 20:56beyond his years. That my bitch hip with love, just sitting down and
- 21:03discussing the Bible with him, discussing Democrats and Republicans and telling us, you
- 21:11know, you can't go with the status quo. You gotta go with what
- 21:15you believe in. You know. He was a very deep young man,
- 21:19two deep at times. But like I said, I really miss him and
- 21:27love him. And we're gonna go to a brief commercial or something, and
- 21:37then when we come back back, my I just see that one of my
- 21:44guests is on, so she's gonna come on and talk about what she remembers.
- 21:51Because I want to. I want to leave on a positive note.
- 21:56I want to leave on positive memories because that's all I have now, all
- 22:03the good memories of him that I hold close to my heart. So I
- 22:08just need a moment to get myself together and to transition and speak with my
- 22:18guests, Okay, believe in the journey that you have been placed on because
- 22:25God has a purpose for everything that you have been through. So come along
- 22:29with me as I share my journey with you, and my friends will come
- 22:33along and share their journey with you too, and know that every single thing
- 22:38is working together for the purpose in which God has created you. Basically Basic

- 24:03So Hi, welcome back to the Live Again podcasts, and I have
- 24:15my guests. Matter of fact, it's my guests from last the other Wednesday
- 24:21to Wednesdays ago. That I've known her for over twenty years and we both
- 24:27as single parents, raised our children together. Can you hear me past so
- 24:36Abrica? Yes, I can. Hey, Hey, hey, hey,
- 24:38hi, Well we're talking about tonight. We're talking you know that we just
- 24:44celebrated the death anniversary of our boy on February thirteenth, So I dedicated this
- 24:55show tonight to him, and I talked I've been talking talking about grief and
- 25:00the stages of grief that we will go through, and how I felt when
- 25:08I went through the loss of Tao. So you can birds tell me that
- 25:14you were here. You were with me through the funeral and losing him and
- 25:21everything, and you and him had a special bond together. So would you
- 25:26like to share with the one he is? Guys, you know, there's
- 25:30so many stories that I haven't been little close. There's so many stories I
- 25:33have a tied Sean. And first of all, let me just say this,
- 25:37that was my boy, That was my partner in crime. He made
- 25:41me his honorary godmother, and I carried that title very proud. My first
- 25:47introduction to meeting Tie Shan. And there's no legal you know, statues or
- 25:53whatever. But I was using one of my friend's address, our sister's address
- 26:00to put my kids in school, so I was that was their first share
- 26:03of high school. He was he was a freshman. My daughter number two
- 26:07was a freshman. So I was going to pick him up and he was
- 26:11like, wait, you lying you. I'm like, who is this child
- 26:15talking to this adult like that, nobody's gonna pop him into his mouth.
- 26:19How was he in this car? I said, I said, ain't no
- 26:22one talking. He said, I gotta say, I gotta do so.
- 26:25I said, it's none of your business. He said, but you're lying.
- 26:30I'm lying. Let me a liar, and and we would lay a
- 26:37laugh about it. Because Todd from it was that it was that trans action
- 26:44that brought us together. And I have so many wonderful stories. And you
- 26:51know, one of the stories that I love is that when Propers and Almana
- 26:56we started a camp. Was that two thousand and six to two thousand and
- 26:59seven we started the camp and Shawn and I we we we were Bonnie and
- 27:06Clyde without being intimate. If I can say that we listen, we left
- 27:12his mama, my partner, my business partner. There were all those kids
- 27:17while we was eating out. We was at the mall, but we was
- 27:22lolly gagging. We left tough to deal with the mess. While we was
- 27:26look, as long as we was together, as long as I was with
- 27:30Ta Shawan, I knew I wasn't going to get in trouble. And he
- 27:33said, as long as he was with me, we were going to get
- 27:36in trouble. And that was one of the greatest things because at one point
- 27:40Ta Shawn did I don't know what Shawn did, heard someone's feeling whatever,
- 27:45and I called myself me too, called myself punishing him, telling him that
- 27:51he can't come back to camp for a day or two. Well, he
- 27:53stood his ground and he said, no, I'm coming. You can't know
- 27:56no, listen, he came back to camp. I said, you can't
- 28:00define me in front of people. I'm the boss, I'm one of the
- 28:06bosses. But he defied me, and it was in a funny way.
- 28:10But Tashawn was my partner in Tashawn, he would take my truck. My
- 28:14fiance at the time was like, your husband, there go your husband.
- 28:17That's what jealous people do, That's what insecure people do, that's what immature
- 28:21people do. People were issues, They say stuff like that. But we
- 28:23were so close. And I remember February thirteen, two thousand and nine,
- 28:29as if it was yesterday because I was preparing to go to North Carolina.
- 28:33I've been to North Carolina so many times, but it would be my first
- 28:37time on the plane and Ta Shawn had called me a couple of days before
- 28:41but I was preparing for the trip. I said, oh, that's ta
- 28:41Shawn. I'll call him back. You know, I never got the chance
- 28:45to call him back because that morning, around six o'clock, probably Alma was
- 28:49calling me and I I was in the living room that point, I was
- 28:56leaving and needless to say, Alma gonna call me back. And when she
- 29:02called, about was like, hey girl. And when she started crying,
- 29:07I began crying because I don't even know why, but I knew that this
- 29:12cry was different. It was a cry that I never heard. And when
- 29:17she said that he's gone, I just I just lost it. He was
- 29:19the first person that I loved that I lost. I don't lost grandparents' friends,
- 29:26whatever, But this hit so so bad. And like prophetas Alma said,
- 29:34he was saved, He was saved. He he knows God, He
- 29:38listened. He was a believer. Everyone loved him. I did I say
- 29:42he was my partner in crime. He was my partner in crime. But
- 29:45he was respectable. Everyone loved him. And my daughter, I think they
- 29:48liked each other. They fought like cats and dogs. But whenever Joey y'all
- 29:52needed to go somewhere because she had the car, with the permit, but
- 29:55he had the license. She's calling Tad Sean. They're hanging out, and
- 30:00to think that it's been fourteen years. And it was hard for all of
- 30:06us because this was a child that everyone loved. He was disrespectful, he
- 30:14stood up for what he believed him. I remember and then I'm gonna go.
- 30:17I remember another argument that we had in the car when I voted vout
- 30:21Barack Obama and he talked about he didn't vote for no black president. And
- 30:23we get into it and he was like, well, I don't feel sorry
- 30:26for people, when park I was like, what you saying? And you
- 30:30black like us? What's wrong with Joe? Right? That's how we talked
- 30:34to each other. But he was adamant. No one was going on to
- 30:37change his mind. He did what he wanted to do, and he did
- 30:41it with the spirit of excellence, and he did it to the utmost.
- 30:44And I will forever remember February thirteen because that call came in a little rate
- 30:48before six am. He was They called him the little biggie little Biggie Smalls.
- 30:55That's what he said from he was decked out. Did he not do
- 30:59his thing? He did? If that's the picture that you've shown with the
- 31:02white tucks with the peach the top. My brother was smooth, My brother
- 31:07was clean. My brother loved God. He was that son that I never
- 31:14had and to have to watch him be nule jized. But the one thing
- 31:21I know, Tai Shawna loved Jesus. Tai Shawna loves Jesus. His mother
- 31:26listen Shawn's driving buses and his mama wanted to keep him in a bar.
- 31:30We were like, let that boy live, not knowing that he got to
- 31:37do everything that he wanted to do. And I'm so glad he got to
- 31:41experience that. So that's my baby. There's nothing bad because even when he
- 31:45was checking me, you're gonna pop him in the mouth, talking to adult
- 31:49like this was wrong with Joe, But no, he was right and I
- 31:55miss him and I you know, I'm here to support you, my friend,
- 31:57and I'm proud of you. Fourteen years. It would never, it
- 32:00would never. The pain would never go away, the hurt would never go
- 32:04away. But it gets a little bit better knowing that Shoe Sean live in
- 32:10the best like Jesus. We got to make it to where he's at.
- 32:14Are we that saved enough? Are we gonna see him again? Because he's
- 32:17straight. He's been straight for fourteen years. So that's my memory of Tye
- 32:22Tie. I loved him. I know he loved me. I remember his
- 32:27mother. His mother is a crab. Can I say that with the utmost
- 32:30respect. He borrowed my car was the promise, something that he had not
- 32:35let him use it for. And with the truck, it was two thousand
- 32:38and six, so it was a two thousand and three Ford Explorer, all
- 32:44white, Eddie Bauer captain seats everything, and ty let someone borrow it and
- 32:50I I think they got they hit something or whatever. And his mother,
- 32:54she did the right thing, but she's still crab. She was like,
- 32:58you're gonna tell her. She trusted you. And when he came to me,
- 33:00he's like, sister, Eric, I'm sorry that I let you down.
- 33:04I'm proud of you. You took ownership, you took accountability. That's
- 33:08the type of guy he was. I love him, So I love you.
- 33:12Thank you for this opportunity to share my time, all right, thank
- 33:15you for sharing. Thank you for loving my son like you did. Like
- 33:23I said, this whole movement was birthed out of after that Shawn's death.
- 33:30I turned my pain into my passion and you can too that no matter what
- 33:36kind of loss you've been through that once you go through the stages of grief
- 33:42and you finally get to that accepting stage, you can accept anything. And
- 33:47now I have another one of my dear friends that's gonna share her one of
- 33:53her memories, some of her memories. He's of her with Tie Shawan.
- 34:01Good evening, everybody. My name is Desiree Sessions. I'm glad, I'm
- 34:07Sean. First of all, Alma told a little bit of lie because that
- 34:14had a mouth on him. I don't know who she was describing when she
- 34:16got to that part, but he had a mouth on him. Okay,
- 34:21let's just get that's great but loving and witty. He was so ahead of
- 34:24his time, so his knowledge was well beyond his years, and you had
- 34:30to get to know him and understand him for who he was. So I
- 34:35had many fond memories because ty Shawan was spoiled rotten, Okay, spoiled rotten.
- 34:42And I met Alma when I began working at Headstart in nineteen ninety six.
- 34:50I think it was somewhere around there. She was my daughter's teacher and
- 34:53I had an opportunity. I had just finished college and they were looking for
- 34:59an educator. Alma and I being Alma always encouraging people. She was so
- 35:06so resourceful, and we got to talk and and she said, oh,
- 35:07they have a position here. And that's a whole nother story. But anyway,
- 35:13I ended up getting the job. But you know, sometimes it's not
- 35:16good for your children to attend where you work because they're spoiled. Ty Sean
- 35:22was a terror at headstart, right, so right, So anyway, Alma
- 35:31was like, we had become like the best of friends, like sisters.
- 35:35So it was like, if he can't go in Desiree's class, I'm taking
- 35:38him out of here. So they switched him into my class. And it
- 35:42was a wonderful marriage. He tried me a few times, but I was
- 35:45tim enough for him at that point. But I grew to love ty Sean
- 35:49like they were like family. We spent countless hours together, laughing. I
- 35:54was always at their house, Alma was at my house. I was doing
- 35:59her hair, so beyond the school day, we spent so much time together.
- 36:05And I'll never forget. I was on Facebook and I did hear Alma
- 36:08shared some of that. Alma was hard to reach. She's like a CEO,
- 36:14like I couldn't get to him that week. Maybe it was like Wednesday,
- 36:16because I believe it was a Saturday. And was it a Saturday,
- 36:22Alma when he passed? Oh no, he passed away on the thirteenth,
- 36:28and I think it was right before maybe with a Friday or a Friday with
- 36:36a Friday because the next day was the fashion show. Okay, well,
- 36:40whatever day it was, I flew up to New York. I flew up
- 36:44on that Saturday. But anyway, we had been talking that week. I
- 36:46want to say, maybe about Wednesday. And I said to him, I
- 36:51said, Tyshaw, and tell your mother that you are my new found best
- 36:54friend because I cannot reach her. Reach her. I now live in Maryland.
- 36:59I've been in Maryland for one year, so at that point that was
- 37:00fourteen years ago. I was here for a while. So anyway, I
- 37:06told her. So we were talking and it was just amazing and it was
- 37:12wonderful. So imagine getting a car, Daisy, I need you to pray,
- 37:17and I'm like, okay, what we're praying for? Ty Sean died?
- 37:22But wait, I wasn't ready because how does the mother how does the
- 37:27mother call you and tell you her son died. I mean that shattered me
- 37:32into a million pieces because at that point I just wanted to take her pain
- 37:37away. And at that point I really had nothing. I had nothing.
- 37:43I had nothing because I am I've been saved for most of my life,
- 37:47but I'm not one to get you know, scriptures. At that moment,
- 37:52he's in a better place, like you know, silence. You know,
- 37:54like the Jews, they practiced shival. So I just wanted to be there
- 37:59for her. But I was devastated, believing what I tell you, because
- 38:05at that point I felt like there was nothing that I can do. And
- 38:07because of his journey, I felt like he was on the bend. But
- 38:12he did get healed, just not over here. And I know now if
- 38:15he was alive, I mean, oh, we can only imagine he would
- 38:19be the CEO of people, might even be the President of the United States,
- 38:22because that boy was well beyond his years. And another funny thing,
- 38:27he had Alma's sense of humor. He was so witty and sarcastic. So
- 38:31she talked about his favorite auntie Alice, and who fed us very well.
- 38:37I mean, we used to be up. I'm surprised May Mae didnt put
- 38:39us out. We'd be up cackling to the wee hours of the morning.
- 38:42We've shared so many good memories, but one of my fondest memories of Tyshawan
- 38:47was going in baskin Robbins. I don't know if it was after work,
- 38:52and he went in there and asked them to give him the nastiest flavors of
- 38:58ice cream, so for his auntie. So he's a prankster, right,
- 39:01So I'm saying to myself, what do these people know what to give him
- 39:06the nastiest flavors. So he got his auntie a cone with the nastiest flavors
- 39:10of ice and he was young, and I just thought that was so hilarious
- 39:15because he likes to play a lot of jokes and they actually gave him the
- 39:20flavors that they thought were the nastiest. But again, he was loving,
- 39:24he was smart, he loved his mom. You know, you could communicate
- 39:29with him as if he was on yet level. He was rotten. He's
- 39:34missed. I thank God for Alma's healing and her growth. I mean,
- 39:38it is something to be it's all inspiring, something to be modeled, something
- 39:44to model after. Like I'm pulling from her strength like even now, like
- 39:49every day, because I'm like, I don't even know you know, well
- 39:52I know God, but still all that she's gone through, you know what
- 39:57I'm saying, only God, and even now to be able to talk and
- 40:01you know, talk about it and share and help other people through. You
- 40:06know, I have conversations with God and I said, you know, Lord,
- 40:09I've been through enough. I help people just naturally, that's what I
- 40:14love to do. But I don't want to help nobody else in no big
- 40:15way. Please don't give me. I mean, we can't tell God how
- 40:19to do, but this is I talk to God just like this. I'm
- 40:21like, I don't need another testimony in that way, but look at the
- 40:27growth. Look at Alma, even all that she's been through, and she's
- 40:30still able to, i mean, encourage people. And I just thank God
- 40:37for her heart art and I just pray that even in this that her ladder
- 40:45to see how she's going through the journey. And I have my own testimony
- 40:47that at another time I'll talk about it, but Alma is helping me through
- 40:54grief and healing just the way that she persevered. And you know, and
- 41:00I will tell I will say this and that I'm going to be quiet.
- 41:04Sometimes we like to say, you know, well a person went through this,
- 41:07but they didn't go through that. And I went through the worst two
- 41:12years of my life ever, this past two years. And I was saying
- 41:15to Alma if I don't know if she remembers this, I said, but
- 41:16Alma, you lost a child. So I feel so guilty, you know,
- 41:22I feel so guilty venting to you, talking to you. And she
- 41:25genuinely said, but it doesn't matter whatever it is. I wasn't grieving the
- 41:30loss of a child, but I'm grieving the loss of some parts of me
- 41:36because of trauma and tragedy. And she still was able to encourage me and
- 41:39say, but you know, it doesn't matter. You know, sometimes we
- 41:44minimize things because well, you shouldn't be. I lost a child, so
- 41:46what are you crying about? But it doesn't matter. Your trauma, your
- 41:50tragedy is yours and nobody can tell you. And I appreciate her and that
- 41:54resonates with me and I love her for that. So Alma, we love
- 41:59you, and I just thank God for your continued healing and growth. Yes,
- 42:04I love you too, And as a matter of fact, I'm gonna
- 42:08get with you and book you to be one of my guests where you can
- 42:13share. I think you need a whole show to share your testimony. But
