- 0:06Drama Darling Drama Darling Drama Darling. Well, hello and welcome back to Drama
- 0:22Darling. What a great way to start off a Tuesday with Angela Quintana and
- 0:27Jamie Moyer. Hello, ladies, good morning, Well Marnen, we are
- 0:34here. We've shown up and here's why. Here's the important stuff today.
- 0:39Right now, we are going to be talking about the epic film that has
- 0:43taken over lifetime, and that is Mommy Meanest starring Lisa Rinna with a cameo
- 0:53of Delilah Bell Hamlin. Thank you for joining us for our Bravo Film Club.
- 1:00That is what we're going to be calling it today. All you film
- 1:03nerds out there, pull up a chair, get your pencils ready, all
- 1:07you citizen Kane lovers. Love Is of Seven, Titanic, Crouching Tiger,
- 1:17Hidden Dragon, and finally the Opus of All Films. Mommy meaness, Mommy,
- 1:23Wow, this is so incredible. Yeah. I truly feel like we
- 1:27do need to give this applause. Dj Arhorn rolling right into it. I
- 1:37just I love I love a nice like cold open where we uh you know,
- 1:42uh to to just get a throwback of the family, just seeing a
- 1:48young Lisa Rinna, you know, and how do we know she's young,
- 1:55longer hair, and a further shot A long shot offine shut off that Elizabeth
- 2:09Taylor Sybil Shepherd not since terms of endearment which started with uh, Shirley McClain
- 2:20with a baby that later became Debra Winger. Have I seen that's an amazing
- 2:25older mom younger mom lashback. Yeah, that's really funny, very just a
- 2:37little more bangs, you know. So we see that she's fighting with her
- 2:43husband and it's really they're painting the picture that he's the bad guy. She's
- 2:46like, I don't want this divorce and he's like, come on, and
- 2:51then we talk about then they talk about that they're they're gonna get divorced.
- 2:57And then the next thing, you know, you see the little the daughter
- 3:00Mia where it is to Mia just Prescio maybe one of the best actors in
- 3:06the piece. Frankly true. I mean, definitely award winning. But we'll
- 3:10get to that later because I really like the detective now foreshadow why is there
- 3:20a detective? Now? The investigator? You know, Oh, oh,
- 3:23I see what you're saying. I'm sorry, I'm so stupid. I'm like,
- 3:27you know, you're like no, I'm laying the groundwork for the listeners.
- 3:30We're reeling them in. And so we see the little girls like listening
- 3:36to their fighting. Oh no, oh no, and she's like mommy,
- 3:39and you can tell already she's against her father. He's the bad guy.
- 3:45Now we one month then we see like another pop in huge dramatic ten years
- 3:54later to where Lisa Rinna is like, open the me I know you're in
- 4:00there, and then she's pounding. She's pounding, She's like, and then
- 4:05she busts open the door. She sees the phone with all of the hate
- 4:09texts, but really quick, I'm going to stop you right there when she
- 4:13says, and this is why she says, let me and Mia, I
- 4:17hear your phone blowing up. And I had to look up the writer because
- 4:24I thought, surely this is Aaron Sorkin using an alias, and I found
- 4:32there Darren Larkin. Darren Larkin Larkin who the writer was that came up with
- 4:39all this hip young dialogue and it is who? Okay, she's showing a
- 4:45peach chemy. I was like, he was trying to act like a kid
- 4:55in high school. It's like a popular mean and he's like, what's up?
- 4:58Fellow kids. I'm steep and chemmy acting like a kid in high school.
- 5:04He's the ghost writer, ghost writer, you never know who's working at
- 5:10lifetime. It was just check phone blowing up. Sorry to interrupt, I
- 5:16just had to point out the well, no, absolutely, as well as
- 5:19we will as we will continue. So, oh, yes, so your
- 5:25phone is blowing up. Mia, I know you're in there. She opens
- 5:28the door, she sees the all the terrible texts, she leaves. Then
- 5:31she's here's the shower, and she's like, oh my god, she's done
- 5:36something terrible. You open the door and you just see Lisa. We gonna
- 5:41see the bathtub, and and she's about to pull the curtain back. And
- 5:45then cut to one month earlier. I mean Baron Sorkin double again, Flarin
- 5:56Florkindorphin. Yeah, I gotta say U plus on the Cold Open. Yeah.
- 6:06Well, at that point I had high hopes, even you know,
- 6:12I hope. Look, ye, my hopes weren't dashed. The bottom line
- 6:16is no hopes were dashed because this freaking film is based on a true story.
- 6:25Yeah, I'm so mad that I didn't write it down. What you
- 6:29did? Anybody write down? It was like wild, this is it said
- 6:31something. Yeah, this is based on a true story, but the events
- 6:35are fictionalized. And that is that essentially. And Jamie, you know there's
- 6:41some egg on our Michigan faces because this is a Michigan mom. And this
- 6:45Michigan mom I believe it's Mount Clemmons or something like that. That is bad
- 6:57Mount something. And her name is u, her name is Vichy. They
- 7:09couldn't use it. They couldn't. Kendra, Well, sorry, Kendra,
- 7:14lasarry that. Kendra, seven negative pops for you and one no bag of
- 7:21better made chips, paps, No, none of that. You're not getting
- 7:27anything. You put shame on our state. How dare you pleaded guilty of
- 7:32two counts of stalking a minor after being charged with a felony five felony accounts
- 7:38for harassing her own daughter and daughter's boyfriend and uh for more than a year
- 7:44with hundreds of text messages. Hundreds So she did some time. She paid
- 7:50for her crime. She's out. She does have some mental illness, clearly,
- 7:56And I don't know this happened in twenty twenty two. You got on
- 8:01the heels of the pandemic. How could you do that to your daughter?
- 8:05She's already gone through so much, so much. You know, the real
- 8:09life wasn't as fun as the movie, right, it never is. I
- 8:16never is. I do have a broad strokes question about you've already brought up
- 8:22the script writing, and that is my broad strokes question. And look,
- 8:26I love Lifetime and I'm not this is no shade, and like, I
- 8:28don't want to, you know, be rude about the writing or the producing
- 8:33of this, because they have to put out what they put out. But
- 8:37I am curious as to, like, what what is the reasoning behind such
- 8:41an elementary script where it's such like the writing is so generalized in you know,
- 8:50in the synopsis of things. Is that for the purpose of just making
- 8:54sure that it's simply that we can follow along? Like why is it so
- 8:58simplified? I I just think, just think about how how long Lifetime has
- 9:07been around, and how like I remember in college and maybe Lifetime was around
- 9:11in college because well that was like five years ago, so just kidding five
- 9:18years ago too totally. I do remember, like we all watched the there
- 9:24there is a niche there is people want to see very campy, very cheesy.
- 9:31It's just so that would be considered campy writing. Can't be writing.
- 9:37Is what you're saying, would you consider that me? I feel right that
- 9:41they do that on purpose, right, I mean, obviously, here's the
- 9:43deal. Here's the deal. I thought about this for hours. Frankly,
- 9:46it kept me up. I'm going back and forth because here's the deal.
- 9:50It's a good movie. And I watched him to the final drop, as
- 9:54I do with many Lifetime movies. And Celeste is a lover of our friend
- 9:58last Time movies, So I believe they know that it's bad, but they
- 10:03go all in. And the person the lynchpin of this project for me was
- 10:09her best friend. He was the only line I think Elliott was playing it
- 10:15can't be. But otherwise they go in as it Yeah, they go in
- 10:18as it's serious. The writers don't say, I'm writing all Amy to answer
- 10:24your question full stop. Yes, they're taking it deadly serious. Are we
- 10:28taking it deadly serious? No? Does Lifetime know that they produce these overly
- 10:33melodramatic things that we watch with our laughter? Yes, they understand it.
- 10:39So Lifetime movie, this is an A plus real movie. This is a
- 10:43bomb. You know, there's just you have to acknowledge the delicate balance between
- 10:50what is reality and what is expectation and what is execution. I mean,
- 10:56I think that's a brilliant explanation. And that's why I'm trying to do handle
- 11:00this with kid gloves because I'm not slamming it. I just want to know
- 11:03when these writers get in the room, they obviously execute, to your point,
- 11:09exactly what they intend on executing. So it's not that they're bad writers.
- 11:15They know exactly what formula they're using, and it's so simplified. That's
- 11:20why I'm saying, so for example, oh, you're not going to bring
- 11:26up not the restraining order again? You know these types of lines like that
- 11:31where they put out the continuity, Yeah, that's the word exposition they're putting
- 11:39out. They're constantly putting out exposition in a way that is so much of
- 11:43an eye roll. It's like, isn't there a more eloqant way you could
- 11:46do this eloquent way that you could do it, But no, they always
- 11:50lean into a campier way to do it, and they are doing it intentionally,
- 11:54and that's why I like it. So I just need to like break
- 11:58that down because I would love to talk to a lifetime writer about that,
- 12:03Yes, about the screenwriting, because it's so different than a lot of the
- 12:07things and that we are used to and there's a reason behind it. So
- 12:11I guess with that said, I do have a lot of laughs here and
- 12:16there with the way that they explain things and they put the exposition about there,
- 12:18about the restraining order and things like that, and so anyway, now
- 12:24let's get back to the plot. So we we find out that Mia has
- 12:28the again with the writing, which I absolutely love, a lot of callbacks
- 12:31to the big speech, the big speech, the bullying speech, the anti
- 12:37bully week. Talk to me about the big speech, you guys. Might
- 12:41I just start by saying that school with its fancy big speech, its fancy
- 12:46stage and it's big, fancy speech, and be rolling what school is this
- 12:56and why is this speech existing? And how it is? Yes? And
- 13:03then graduation, why is it also sexy? It's like three the sexy lighting
- 13:11curtains a twenty seven year old daughter doing a speech about believe, not even
- 13:18a senior yet, not even a senior yet. But one of my favorite
- 13:22things about the entire movie is how much the speech is mentioned in the mean
- 13:26text. Good job on your speech, remember that speech. Your speech was
- 13:33not a good speech, Your speech was pointless. Has anyone ever what that
- 13:39hard for a speed at school or gotten so many accolades for a speech because
- 13:45Josh Landon, who's the hot hotty Toddy at that school, was like,
- 13:50Hey, I loved your big speech. Yeah, what you did with that
- 13:54speech was really something else because he was cackling, you know, at the
- 13:58beginning of that big speech. He was cackling with his friends. He was
- 14:01not giving that big speech the time of day. Well he threw the pennies
- 14:05freshman year, or he was part of the group, part of the click,
- 14:11part of what do they call the jet set? Jet set? That
- 14:16actually went right over my head. I was like, why do you keep
- 14:18calling them the fucking jet I don't I don't get it. Is this like,
- 14:24it's not that jetie, It's not that, not that jets. All

- 18:08So why is it calling it the jet set group because they're rich, Okay,
- 18:15right, they've got private jets, their jet setting Okay, you know,
- 18:18I get. I don't know. I suppose it's it's off enough to
- 18:23where when that was brought up in the text that we all knew it was
- 18:27personal because nope. Not. Everybody was calling it the jet Set group,
- 18:32which was a why we were able to point it towards Elliott. But again,
- 18:37I feel like that could have gone through the right room that name a
- 18:40few times, you know, you know, like the Richies. Yeah we
- 18:45set that. I know your heart is set on it, Daniella, but
- 18:49can we just go back because this is how it was for me? They
- 18:56were the jet Set. Yeah, but you went to hide the eighties Rody
- 19:00Brody gaged me with the spoon when you're bringing up my past. My favorite
- 19:07bit of writing was them letting us know how many like sayings Mia and her
- 19:15mom had together. I wrote them when we say it together, yes to
- 19:27no man waver. I don't know why we made it so slow. I
- 19:36mean we had it. We were really protective of each other in case one
- 19:41of us did. There was a saying I didn't notice that. It was
- 19:48the watch my mouth okay, Angela. And then there was another one that
- 19:52was, uh, like you always say, what goes wrong can be made
- 19:59right. Then there was another one. There was another one where Mia says,
- 20:07like they always say, if not him, then someone better. I
- 20:11was like they do they do always say that? And the final one,
- 20:17which kills me was wait, mom, you're always telling me, what if
- 20:22all this change is the universe's way of getting you ready for the perfect guy
- 20:26and an even better job, Like she's always saying that, Like, that's
- 20:30sorry, I did not mean that. I meant the airhorn. The first
- 20:37one was better, so hilariously, even you're always telling me that. Yeah,
- 20:52someone once said Abraham Lincoln in His Friend, the one who walks through
- 21:00the door is the one who shuts the door. But that's so that the
- 21:06door can open and close again. You always say all but that again is
- 21:14an example of the perfect lifetime writing, right, because they I know that
- 21:18the writers can write better than that, but I think that they are in
- 21:23the room going no, dumb it down, make it more bland and cliche
- 21:30and a hint of campiness. That's what I think is happening, And that's
- 21:33why I think there's an art to the writing of lifetime. Yeah, it
- 21:38has to be the right amount of mindless entertainment. I don't know someone watching
- 21:45this and not thinking this though, that's my question. People watching this like
- 21:48that was a damn good movie, because we're also saying that was a damn
- 21:52good movie. That's also I thought both audiences are married, right, Yeah,
- 21:59like we both love it and we watch it all the way through and
- 22:00we loved it, you know, so so we're also wink wink, nudge,
- 22:04nudge. And I'm not trying to be a snob either, like I
- 22:07know better than you. It's like no, no, But there is there
- 22:11some eye rolling going around across America. Yeah, a certain person I think
- 22:17there is. I think they're like, oh, this, this is great.
- 22:18I'm just like mindless in the background. Yes, but I will say
- 22:22my best friend from high school, Kelly, Hi, Kelly, shout out
- 22:27Hi Kelly. She loved these movies and was kind of would be. She's
- 22:33the type of person that watches it and it's like it was the mob.
- 22:37Like she will allow herself to like it's not funny to her. Yeah,
- 22:44I like that. Yeah. Like so there are those people that are like,
- 22:48oh my god. I also think that the writing is meant to remind
- 22:52you easily what's going on, because they're like, if you're watching this in
- 22:56the background of your kitchen, continue to remind people what's happening, you know,
- 23:02that could be it well fucking entertaining. At the end of the day,
- 23:04and so they get the writers eventually for me get an A plus or
- 23:08seven golden pencils because they they made it. I want to tell you too,
- 23:15I'm not watching it and going this is bad. I'm watching it and
- 23:18going this is good. There they are. I'm sorry, this is good.
- 23:22That's what I'm thinking. This is good. This is good. Yeah,
- 23:23I agree, it's good. For whatever reason you think it's good,
- 23:26it's good. Now let me let me ask you this. Can we discuss
- 23:32how In the big speech, Mia explained her journey about, you know,
- 23:37getting pennies thrown at her when she was a freshman, and her mother suggested
- 23:41to save those pennies and start a charity to stop bullying. And they raised
- 23:47twenty thousand dollars uh and donated it to the local animal rescue twenty k I
- 23:56mean. And she was like, and some of you that through the pennies
- 24:00donated, Yeah, Now do you are? You say? She raised twenty
- 24:08twenty thousand dollars unnamed charity that is not there to accept the check that is,
- 24:18But how'd you raise so much fucking money? I can't raise fifty cents
- 24:22to get myself a lot. Take That part was absolutely but the whole crowd
- 24:29was established. She's popular now now, and I was like, he was
- 24:37so yeah, he was proud and then he got pissed. But like,
- 24:41obviously to establish that this isn't going to miss anyone's ears. You know,
- 24:45this neighborhood is wealthy, af like, they have the money. And if
- 24:51we didn't learn it from that, we were reminded in the ice cream parlor
- 24:55with the Josh Landon when she was trying to like break it off, He's
- 24:59like, tell me, this isn't about how much money my family has so
- 25:03good, No, tell me how they make their money. I always want
- 25:11to know. Yeah, my dad invented saws, big deal. Wood would
- 25:17never have been cut without my dad. Sure, what's your point? This
- 25:23ice cream counter wouldn't be here. And then they kissed, and I was
- 25:27like, you're in the middle of an ice cream parlor. There's probably children
- 25:33around. Why are you how uncomfortable to lay the first kiss in public?
- 25:37I would feel so uncomfortable. I just was like, Josh, there wasn't
- 25:41the girl. There wasn't the girl sitting at the table behind him. I
- 25:45don't know if you noticed what she was like, Yeah, Josh Landon maple
- 25:52Groves hottest or whatever. Though Josh Landon, whose dad invented the metal saw,
- 25:59to cut dating the music teacher who wears the most tailored outfits I've ever
- 26:07seen his daughter. This is unbelievable that require, by the way, that
- 26:14the most full founding choir for eight people. There are eight people, three
- 26:18boys. No wonder Renna kept skipping choir rehearsal. I mean, there was
- 26:22only fucking three people in there. One of my notes that I have comes
- 26:27later, but I'm just gonna say it. They started to recital without me,
- 26:33bitch. This has been on the calendar, bitch. This is they
- 26:40startle that from Amadeus, she goes, they started the kid me, bitch,
- 26:45you're oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know you having such a hot
- 26:48and heated moment with your ex husband that you have so distracted when your whole
- 26:55life is to set your daughter up. You're going to sleep on a school
- 26:59event like you don't have a calendar in your kitchen with all the doctor appointments
- 27:03and the one recital you ever do? Ingle you ever know her? You
- 27:08guys, you guys. She had a big review coming. Yeah, I
- 27:12love her. Behind the piano, fake play the piano had the song where
- 27:18it's supposed to be like ding ding and she's like fingo with her finger.
- 27:22But then at the recital she's eight rows back just since he in the middle.
- 27:27All of a sudden, they can do it without her accompaniment, you
- 27:30know, showed up for that. I'm sorry. Oh okay, so we're
- 27:34a cappella for the recital. And then also, what banger did they choose
- 27:45from the eighties? Because I didn't recognize that song? Did you? I
- 27:48didn't either, No, no one, no one did. This was so
- 27:52meta. That was the school couldn't afford because Lifetime couldn't afford because the school
- 28:00because the rights to a banger song that they started the recital. That bitch.
- 28:17She was at a dinner like, oh wait a minute, there is
- 28:19something. Oh yeah, the one thing I do here for my page.
- 28:25Oh no, my big review. The principal, Oh my god, the
- 28:29principal was excellent, nailed it, nailed it, and sailed it. Principal,
- 28:34can you stop hanging out with the students and more with the teachers.
- 28:38Kind of want to give you a heads up before your big review. I
- 28:42mean they she does have either relationship with those kids, I mean redit eggs
- 28:48By when she talked to the two girls in class, do you have zinger?
- 28:55She says, not that I'm aware of. Do I need to see
- 28:56a doctor? And then they were all like, anyway, bitch, we're
- 29:03not here for you. They were literally just ripping her to shreds two seconds
- 29:07ago. And that's that she's the cool teacher with a great relationship with the
- 29:14kids. That's right that she showed us that. She's like, I'm just
- 29:17open my pocket book and I'll pay for it myself. I'll get one of
- 29:19my credit cards out and pay for the rights to a Journey song. Look
- 29:23at the eighties girls, You won't be dragged on social media singer anymore.
- 29:30Yes, I was hoping for some impressions. You all are starting my day
- 29:36off so hot, right, I know, I know, Well, I
- 29:41I'm going to text you guys both a monologue that the detective did, you
- 29:48know, which we will get to. But I really truly feel like I
- 29:53need for you guys to reenact it. You know both. You know,
- 29:57I would love to to have both of your uh what you McCall it's take
- 30:03on it, okay, I mean really just like uh what you might call
- 30:07it, I would say, uh, creative, creative, take you know
- 30:15you're each gonna give it a shot. Uh so hmm, okay, So
- 30:21let's let's talk about how essentially, at this point the police are involved because
- 30:29she's getting a ton of threatening phone texts. Okay, because things are escalated.
- 30:36Uh, clearly we all know that it's Lisa Rinna doing this because she
- 30:41wants to keep her daughter home from going away to school three thousand miles away.
- 30:47Her daughter has an incredibly promising career at UNF You nef the best veterinarian
- 30:56program in the galaxy. Yes, Northeastern Florida. You're not gonna get your
- 31:04net saving animals if you didn't go to UNIP And I prove it's you that.
- 31:11But she and she also said, remember, I mean she did a
- 31:15lot just for them to stay home and watch Gilmore Girls, Like, oh
- 31:18my god, the amount of Gilmore Girls shout outs was epic. Now,
- 31:22how did they get the rights to just use Gilmore Girls? Willy Nilly,
- 31:26we blew all our music Budgetmore Girls nine times? Fuck? Fuck fuck that
- 31:33was my fuck. I thought, Daniella, damn it, this is on
- 31:38you. I told you, But we knew. I mean, by this
- 31:44point we knew it was her mom, but I don't know if you guys
- 31:45caught one of the texts because they kept showing the bullying texts and one of
- 31:48the text one of the text press your mom seems cool? Are you adopted?
- 31:56Can I tell you my favorite text? This is my favorite text.
- 32:00Maybe I've ever seen a bullying context. It is stunning. Okay, thanks
- 32:09for normalizing being fat. Oh my god, these are so savage. So
- 32:24the writer's room, we're going back to the Lifetime writer's room and we're asking
- 32:29these questions. They had a breakout group that only wrote the bullying text for
- 32:35this film. Yes, only one group were churning and burning these texts and
- 32:43they killed it. Yeah, it's like when improvisers have to write. Just
- 32:50there was just a writer's room for the text. Are you doing No,
- 32:53I'm I'm kind of serious, Like I'm wondering that. It was like,
- 32:58Okay, like teams, you know, how they break up the team sometimes,
- 33:01So I would say that, you know, and that's probably not all
- 33:05they did on this incredible film, but they were definitely there was a team
- 33:09that was like in charge of doing the bullying text, no doubt, right,
- 33:14that team gets an a plus. I call them all stars. I
- 33:17thank you for sharing those written down my favorite. It's like weeks after the
- 33:24speech and every fifth text is like no speech not spek no, Like I
- 33:32know the speech was like three months ago. Can we move on from the
- 33:37big speech? Very current, current language and topical with this speech? Did
- 33:42exe else give a speech? I mean, I hate to go back to
- 33:44the beginning. I know, we move like this is just well, then
- 33:49where's the big check for the veterinarian office. Now here's the thing. I
- 33:52think she was talking about the accomplishments of what she did with bullying. I
- 33:55think she raised twenty thousand dollars maybe the year prior. And I think I
- 34:00was wrong. She is a senior, right, I think I was wrong.
- 34:06Is she a soft? Is she a junior or a senior at this
- 34:07point? I think she's a senior, right. Yeah? I said she
- 34:10was writing like a like recommendation letter. Yeah, the big recommendation letter,
- 34:17the big anyway. Okay, So I also want to mention before moving on
- 34:22that Lisa Rinna is dating Scott with one t who is the teacher another teacher
- 34:29there, and he has really taken up with her about like you know,
- 34:34it's weird, like you are hanging out with the students more than you hang
- 34:37out with the teachers. So I don't think we can move forward. Okay.
- 34:40So but he comes on board once he finds out everyone finds out about
- 34:45the cyber bullying. He comes back to her, he's super supportive. The
- 34:50ex husband comes back, he's super supportive. Now I want to mention that
- 35:00we get the police involved. Okay, And they go to the police because
- 35:09after this, a big the photo of them kissing was sent to the entire
- 35:14French ap class. Okay, how ironic French kiss And so Lisa Rinna is
- 35:22like, you know, they take her out of class because it's this huge
- 35:25thing, and she's like, how about Maddie's, Patty's and sushi and me?
- 35:30And the daughter's like, mom, I cannot believe that you're doing this,
- 35:32Like, we have to go to the police. So they go to
- 35:36the police and enter the female investigator, who had one hell of a performance,
- 35:42had one hell of a monologue, and Madeline starts this off by saying,
- 35:47like, these messages aren't about you, they're not personal. Meanwhile,
- 35:52it's like they're all personal, clearly so personal. And we have the female
- 35:59investigator who who does this glorious monologue? And I'd love for Jamie if you
- 36:02could begin and do your interpretation. Go ahead, all right, so this
- 36:07is like my lifetime audition for the investment. Yeah, and put your own
- 36:12spin on it. Put a well stank on't it? As they say it
- 36:17every cast? No one's ever said that in the world. Can I have
- 36:22the prompt? Please? Damy? Wait? I'm sorry? Perfect? All
- 36:30right, here we go. Your mom is right. Look, I know
- 36:35what it feels like to be told you don't fit in. You would be
- 36:37surprised how many men around here were put off by my promotion. Acknowledging what
- 36:45happened doesn't mean the message that finds you. It makes you stronger than the
- 36:50hate you're receiving. Can you understand that? How many messages are we talking
- 36:54here? And then mir goes, I don't know hundreds and then her reaction
- 37:04was sick. She's like pen to paper, ready, and then it's like
- 37:07hundreds, I don't know hundreds, and she's like, fuck, this is
- 37:14serious shit. This will be my case that puts me on the books.
- 37:23All right, Angela, are you ready for your lifetime? Okay, here
- 37:30we go. My best Okay, your mama's raight. I know what it
- 37:37feels like to be told you don't fit in. You'd be surprised how many
- 37:40men around here were put off by my promotion. Acknowledging what happened does it
- 37:45make doesn't mean the message defines you. It makes you stronger than the hay
- 37:52you're receiving. Can you understand that? God many messages were talking about here.
- 37:58I don't know. It's okay, wow, taking it to the south.
- 38:10Come on, I investigator booked and blessed. Yeah, booked in blast.
- 38:16That was amazing. I'm so impressed. Oregon. Yeah, that's right.
- 38:23We we failed to mention where they are. Remember at the end,
- 38:27she goes, now, I'll never teach in any southeast or northwestern Oregon town
- 38:34Regional Quarter of the uh Plasodia area of Benching just across the tracks from Hamilton
- 38:46Province. Okay, let's the bridge separate us from the river. I can't
- 38:53teach on either side. Because you turned me in for the thing I did
- 38:59to you. You made it public. Oh my, oh my. By
- 39:09the way, we also need to mention that Lisa Renna's character Madeline, because
- 39:16we haven't mentioned her name. Her name is Madeline. She actually got this
- 39:22job as the music teacher so that her daughter could go to the private school
- 39:25because they are so poor, and which is why she's carrying a burkin and
- 39:32wearing the most tailored outfits I've ever seen, living in the most gorgeous house
- 39:37rentals. She did point out that yes, it was a rental. She
- 39:43did point that out, so we knew that she couldn't afford to buy a
- 39:46ten thousand dollars a month rental. She has a walk in closet to do
- 39:51her terrible bidding it as a single music teacher, single music, single extracurricular
- 39:58activity, music teacher hunting a house with a walk in closet with a broken
- 40:01bag, with several rooms high ceilings. Are we supposed to believe that Eric
- 40:07is paying some sort of support right care We get into Eric for he's hot.
- 40:15Eric is like rough around the edges, let me let me have some
- 40:19you know, she kind of type and Scott were very similar, Yeah,
- 40:23very similar. Eric, talk to me about Eric. Okay, again,
- 40:30not right or bashing here, but the Eric, the Eric character, the
- 40:34daughter is mean to him, calls him Eric, and yet does meet him
- 40:37once a month for breakfast, and that whole breakfast. She's a little bitch
- 40:40to him every year for however many years because I met somebody. She's like,
- 40:50thanks again for breakfast. Eric. I'm like, at least he's a
- 40:54month. What's a month? He takes your little butt out for breakfast because
- 40:59he walked to be a dad. But also, Eric, you're a little
- 41:01too passive. You don't ever tell her her mom's the one who put the
- 41:05restraining order. You only see her once a month. You could step it
- 41:08up a little, and then later she's like, sorry about how I left
- 41:12you with that mom yours. She was the one who I had a restrainer.
- 41:15I never wanted you to know. It's like what a human being,
- 41:20including father, would want to sit across from a sulky little brat all under
- 41:24misunderstood circumstances and then pay for her breakfast once a while. Meanwhile, over
- 41:30in the prep school that apparently is so prestigious, they didn't do one background
- 41:37check to find out that Lee Madeleine had a restraining order against her Hello,
- 41:45because she probably told him all about the restraining order made him think it was
- 41:47about Eric, and they were like, well, we don't need to look
- 41:50into that. She told us the truth clearly. Oh my god. I
- 41:52loved how they just pull back and sell it, like put her on a
- 41:57pedestal. The principal when she showed up late to the again the only job
- 42:01he has to do all year, and she's like, that was great,
- 42:06right, And then they're the principals looking at like given just stank face to
- 42:09her like you're in trouble. Then she goes to the office. He's like,
- 42:15uh, Lisa Renna, we found out that you're also being cyberbullied.
- 42:19And you know what, forget about that review. I want to give you
- 42:23flying colors and promptly gave you a raise Bravo switch. Yeah, you are
- 42:32amazing, Lisa Renna. And the he's like, why didn't you say that
- 42:39you were being cyberbullied too, And she's like, I don't know. I
- 42:43just wanted to make it about my daughter. It's not about me or Elliott.
- 42:47Oh my god, we should talk about Elliott. And he took some
- 42:51campy lines and he put turn them on their head and he delivered in such
- 42:58a good way. It Yes, Yes, intense intensity plus seven intense stairs
- 43:08for him, he had a range, unlike the likes of any Lifetime movie
- 43:15has ever seen. He had to come off as the nerdy, you know,
- 43:22a scared, vulnerable guy to the jealous guy who's who's on the cusp
- 43:28of sharing his love to get out of the friend zone with Mia to then
- 43:31we need to start questioning is he the stalker? So he's got to put
- 43:37some stink on it, like he's psychotic. Then he's got to pull back.
- 43:42Then was what And you're forgetting the most important thing, the most important
- 43:46thing, and you've missed it. No devastating birthmark. Ever, he has
- 43:58a devastating birthmark that keeps him from wearing shorts. And that was its own
- 44:02arc bigger than the state of Oregon. You are the only one who knows
- 44:07I don't wear swimming chunks because of my devastating birthmark. And here someone has
- 44:13texted me, nice birthmark. It was your mother. Wait, shakspearean the
- 44:20bullying text about his birthmark? Did it say it's the size of Oregon again?
- 44:28Again? Yes, state shout out, just to remind us where we
- 44:31are, these Lifetime writers are. She was sponsored by Travel Travel Oregon.
- 44:45Travel Oregon. We have anti and crazy moms come to Oregon. So yeah,
- 44:57Elliott was amazing. I I think that he and Angela the black flower,
- 45:07poor guy, and he got a black eye. He also had to
- 45:10like physical stuff that party. Greta's Yeah, she would have saved him at
- 45:20the party, but instead he got his ass kicked. Yeah, she would
- 45:23have saved Everyone knows when you bring your twenty six year old best friend to
- 45:28a party, they're the oldest one there and so then they can make sure
- 45:32that everyone knows there's an adult present. I loved one of his lines.
- 45:40I wrote it down. He's mad obviously at Mia because she didn't show up.
- 45:49You know, he's not calling she's not calling him back, and and
- 45:52he's calling her out for hanging out with the cool group and he's like lunch
- 45:57with the jet set. Oh, I'm acting weird, says the girl who
- 46:00did a one eighty after her big speech. One of my favorite moments.
- 46:07Amy, thank you, thank you. Oh another shout out to the big
- 46:10speech. What did you guys think about those two wacky teachers that were like
- 46:15all team Lisa Rinna, Hey, so you got Scott all the other teachers
- 46:20wanted a data before you know Salla's exposition and the flowers from Eric Eric,
- 46:34Yeah, okay, So my other favorite part was when they go to the
- 46:38mobile phone store so she can get a new unlisted number and an upgraded phone.
- 46:45And they are heading out and the phone store guy goes, hey,
- 46:50let me know if you need any more of those burner phones. She goes,
- 46:55that was weird. I mean, I will say, like I was
- 47:00waiting for like a very noticeable like what are you talking about? What?
- 47:06But she played it so she was that's yeah, she downplayed it was brilliant.
- 47:13Well, by the way, now it was a good time to mention,
- 47:15Rinna you ate this was good. I was going to say, yes,
- 47:19let's talk about her acting. I thought she did great. Yeah.
- 47:21I thought she did the crazy eyes, the smiling every other place. Yeah,
- 47:25going down the hallway with them, when she stood in the hall and
- 47:30listened to her daughter over her daughter in the school, that was yeah.
- 47:36Face that she really was able to thread the needle between lifetime acting and real
- 47:44acting but with like a grounded reality to it. Yeah, and I think
- 47:49they all did. The acting was was actually pretty solid. Yeah me,
- 47:52it was Bell. Delila Bell did great. Delilah Bell. She showed up
- 47:58as Yeah, that's right, summer the kind of the cool girl who showed
- 48:00some vulnerability in the restroom. That's right, I'm going to google how I'm
- 48:06going to google how old she is? Delila Bell or Mia del La Belle.
- 48:12I want to google ho both of them are okay, yeah, yeah,
- 48:14do it too. Can you give me the name of the other daughter.
- 48:19Oh, not Mia, but oh Delilah Bell. You mean I can
- 48:23google La Belle. I'm sorry, Unfortunately I don't have the other actress's name
- 48:28off the tip of my dad. Oh you want, because she's done so
- 48:32much that I'm seeing, so I feel Yeah, ask Lila Bell. Lilabelle
- 48:38is twenty five. Oh, mommy minas, she's twenty five. Okay,
- 48:43well she plays a good Okay. Her name is Brianna Sky, and uh
- 48:51let's see what are we looking at here? Brianna s guy okay, so
- 48:54yeah, oh okay, twenty three, twenty three. Okay, well she's
- 49:00not to me, that's me, I said, twenty five. Okay,
- 49:07mm hmm all right. So now we uh we find out towards the end
- 49:14that uh, the detective is calling out Lisa Rinna. Oh. We they
- 49:17find sorry, they find MIA's journal in Elliott's locker, so he was framed.
- 49:23The detective goes Uh to the school and then calls out Lisa Rinna is
- 49:30like, it's important that you stop hindering my investigation. Ms Keith. We're
- 49:32getting close to the perp and they're going to mess up. And then Madeline
- 49:37Lisa Renna tells the principal not to write the recommendation letter, that Mia is
- 49:42not ready to be three thousand miles away. And then ultimately Mia finds out
- 49:47he's not writing the wreck. Then she's she's alone in the house. She's
- 49:54she's so upset. She finds, Uh, the phone makes a no and
- 50:00this is outside of the closet, brilliant, clearly. So she went into
- 50:04her mom's room looking for her yes, and the phone is not like in
- 50:07her closet. She has been messy and has been reckless and left like four
- 50:12or five phones in a dresser drawer, to which she finds that. She
- 50:15goes into her closet, finds the computer, and all the rest of them
- 50:20comes up with a plan with Elliot, and Elliott says it wasn't you,
- 50:24it was your psycho mom, and the epic line of mea being like my
- 50:30mom is my cyber bully. They plant a story where she writes in blood
- 50:37pretty dark, a bloody bathtub, saying like mother, I know you are
- 50:44my cyber bully. Then she shows up. She is recording the call and
- 50:49she hears the whole confession from Lisa Rinna and you know, end of story.
- 50:55She posts bail and her ends up for Scott. Mean, let's just
- 51:05go back to the bats for a second. That was amazing. And what
- 51:09was that material supposed to be? That's a great question. I think it
- 51:14was supposed to be blood right, where did she get it? And why
- 51:19did Lisa Renna not turn off the water? You're in a rental. This
- 51:22is going to cost you thousand, and she's not going to be able to
- 51:28work in the Pacific northwest of the Palagen region. Every rent not going to
- 51:36be able to rent. Think about every movie that like. Think about Fatal
- 51:39Attraction, for example, there's a very famous part at the end where the
- 51:43water is on and there and their beautiful country home and Glenn Closes turned the
- 51:47water on, it's dripping down. What's the first thing he does? Turn
- 51:51the water off? Then of course Glenn Close comes out. There's a big
- 51:55tussle, but but turn the water Another great film, The Water Off turn
- 52:01it off. And also what there was so much blood and the water was
- 52:05so red, so red. Nia is lucky to be alive If that was
- 52:09from her own vein. Did she slaughter a pig? How did she get
- 52:14that much blood? I'm just die Maybe or she goes to a very wealthy
- 52:22high school. Maybe she into the theater department. They have blood. Now
- 52:25you're talking, and you know what, that's the scene that hit the cutting
- 52:30room floor. It was Elliott and it was Yah planning this extraordinary ruse to
- 52:37catch them on. You can only that that Lisa Renna was so shocked that
- 52:44her daughter discovered it was her that she was frozen. She could have turned
- 52:47the water off, like it was just like yeah, I just would like
- 52:52to say, you know, to think of this. You know, here
- 52:54we are hooting and hollering, but this is a based on a true story.
- 53:00It really at what point, how sick are you to be sending your
- 53:05own daughter these hate messages and messing with their own like suicidal thoughts, because
- 53:13this is where this gal was getting to the point where she was like her
- 53:16own life. You know, how do you live like this? It's awful?
- 53:21Even when in my phone rings, no matter who it is. I'm
- 53:22terrified. I don't like that, and so all those text messages are Jamie,
- 53:32you know you know what I mean. That's like the the the dinging,
- 53:37the dinging, the dinging, which, by the way, brings me
- 53:38to one thing I have to mention when she found the first of all,
- 53:43kudos to the writers again on the low battery. That being the way she
- 53:45found the phone was so smart. Smart. But here's the part that's so
- 53:50dumb. How are you fucking kidding me? Mia pulls out the computer,
- 53:55it's some of the messages and then pulls out her phone to compare the two.
- 54:04You your speech was bad, and then she looks at the computer,
- 54:07Yes, it was. Did you know that those messages are the ones you've
- 54:09been receiving? What do you think You're gonna pull your phone out and they're
- 54:14not the same message? Did? I did? But I also noticed that
- 54:19on the computer, I'm like, oh, lower case, and her messages
- 54:25were all upper case. So I was like, Angelat not good, nice
- 54:35catch and wow, fair roasted better than you? Oh my god, it
- 54:40was? But also so is it would would this be considered like Munchausen by
- 54:47proxy? Kind of like yeah, in a way, I think so.
- 54:51I agree. That's what I thought too, which is ironic considering the Munchausen
- 54:55uh storyline between Lisa, because I totally thought about that. I was like,
- 55:02this is a level of Munchausen, you know, and in a different
- 55:07way, you're causing harm to your kids, so you can be the Also,
- 55:13yes, we'll go ahead. Just that the boyfriend was also bullied,
- 55:16and in this we found out he was discovered that he was being bullied,
- 55:20but he didn't say anything. And in real life it is true it was
- 55:22the daughter and the boyfriend. But oh, shout out to the live story.
- 55:28Speaking of shout outs, Eric sits at breakfast with her and she gets
- 55:32to go to college because he borrowed money from his credit union. Shout out
- 55:37credit unions. Shut out, they do care, they do care about the
- 55:39money sponsored by Oregon Credit Union. And I think we need to end.
- 55:55But this was a delight, Uh, Jamie, we have to you go.
- 56:00Angela and I are going to do a mini recap of below deep anything
- 56:07else you want to mention terribly, I think I hit everything I wanted to.
- 56:12Uh, you know, shout out to anyone who has a birthmark on
- 56:15their leg. It's Okay, it's fine, we all have them. And
- 56:20also the Scott. I'm just looking at my list to make sure I hit
- 56:23everything. Yes, Scott bailing her out of jail but not giving her a
- 56:30ride home A plus Lifetime movie. You have done it again, Lifetime.
- 56:38I would highly recommend watching this and great name too, Mommy meaness mommy?
- 56:45Yeah, very good, all right, I love you so much. Bye,
- 56:51Jamils Hoppit wow wow, Angela hard to follow that act, I know,
- 56:59truly hard to follow that, but I just want to do a quick
- 57:04checking with Below Deck, which was you know, obviously we are wrapping up
- 57:08the season, we have one more episode to go, and this was teetering
- 57:14on. There was no reason for them to leave this episode in there,
- 57:17although I know they need to document having this charter and all the events that
- 57:21happened, but there is no drama that went down in this at all.
- 57:25That it. Captain Carrey was forced, I mean his hand was forced into
- 57:31doing a sneak cabin check, and that was the drama. I mean,
- 57:36we have like so good, but also like I don't think I've ever seen
- 57:42a Below Deck where the all the crew is like a case of senior itis.
- 57:46Everyone's like everyone's like fucking done. They're done. The guests are like
- 57:52this is way too salty, and Barbie's like there's not enough salt. No,
- 57:57no, no, she said the opposite life. They're just checked out,
- 58:00like checked out. Oh my god, that soule thing. It was
- 58:05hilarious past her break time, like no one cares. Nobody cares. It
- 58:10was amazing, And I'm like thinking, Captain carry is feeling this. Uh,
- 58:16he gets it. The production is probably like shooting their pants because they're
- 58:22like, there, we've never actually seen the likes of this before. Get
- 58:25glamorous shots of the food. Oh my god. The fact that we got
- 58:29to see toast popping up in slow motion told you everything you needed to know.
- 58:35The fact that Captain Carrey had to get so amped up about the littlest
- 58:39things. He's like, the Floyd Bridge is a miss. We don't eat
- 58:44unless the gift area has been cleared. I mean it's really not that big
- 58:47of a deal, I will say. Like to me, I was like,
- 58:51yeah, this Ben, this is a super yacht. Ben. You're
- 58:54like, you think you're like the coolest best poson. They had to kind
- 59:00of focus on that a little bit more right. There was nothing going on.
- 59:04But I was totally on Captain Carrey's side, where I was like,
- 59:07first of all, he's the captain, do it like but it was just
- 59:12so much more amped up than it needed to be because we got nothing.
- 59:15We have nothing right now zero. It was amazing. And the fact that,
- 59:20like the dinner, the cooking was amazing. Other than the fact that
- 59:24they don't like a rugal a salad, which a lot of people don't but
- 59:28I do. That looked great. It looked amazing. Also, Paris ate
- 59:32the crumber let. Oh my god, that was so funny. You knew
- 59:36that was coming, Like you knew that was coming. I love the beach
- 59:39picnic uh and the yeah that the fact that like they were like, oh
- 59:45yeah, they don't want this. Paris is like the guests, you know,
- 59:47the guests send this back, so these are ours. Obviously didn't say
- 59:52at that point in editing they said we could eat it, so that we
- 59:54were all on our toes. Oh they know. They showed that. They
- 59:57showed her, they showed her go you should have it, oh before you
- 1:00:02should. But I thought the guest was talking to like another guest. Oh,
- 1:00:08but she apparently she was talking to Paris like you can have this one,
- 1:00:10like you you should eat it. And then Paris coming back being like
- 1:00:14you said I couldn't have it. I was like a little bitchy, much
- 1:00:19rude. She's over it, she's I mean, they're all over it.
- 1:00:22They're all done. And do we think Barbie and Kyle are going to make
- 1:00:25it? Cause they're they said, I love you to each other. Yeah,
- 1:00:30there's no way. I think it's like more of like a love I
- 1:00:31love you like love, you love you like almost like friends. I don't
- 1:00:35it's not real love, he says. I'm falling for her, but it's
- 1:00:38not real. Next week does look really good though. It looks like they're
- 1:00:42all going to break down. Oh they are. I mean it's starting right
- 1:00:45now. We're starting to see them like I loved Captain carry in the bridge
- 1:00:51with Kyle and Ben kind of like this is disrespectful, speaked the night a
- 1:00:58night so yeah, Dylan and Ben or no, I'm sorry Ben and Kyle.
- 1:01:02They didn't clean their cabin at all, they didn't give a ship.
- 1:01:07No, that's a lot of nerve, so much nerve. I was,
- 1:01:12I was it was funny to me, but like you said, it was
- 1:01:15like this is way more dramatic than it needs to be, truly, but
- 1:01:20also it's so it was so frazy to be like it could happen every week,
- 1:01:22it can happen every month and yeah, and this is a safety hazard
- 1:01:27it and it did, and it shows how much you respect the vessel.
- 1:01:31Yeah he did. They that the producers they typically probably don't have to get
- 1:01:37this involved, but they were like, I'm sorry, we have to fan
- 1:01:40the flames of this. Yeah. So and Carrie. It gave me a
- 1:01:45little respect for Carrie as a reality performer. He delivered because he had to
- 1:01:50like really amp it up. So, you know, kudos to Captain carry
- 1:01:53for, you know, getting mad about cabin cabin check. Yeah, and
- 1:01:59we're and and next week's the finale. We're gonna find out like Barbie and
- 1:02:02I mean Sonny and Ben like yeah bad. Listen. We have all kinds
