• 19:34
Speaker 3: Uh, earnhardt is back in the stock car inductees and headlines in the class which includes uh pete lyons he's a racer at large.
• 19:44
Speaker 3: Sammy swindell, open wheel, john morton, sports cars.
• 19:47
Speaker 3: Dave will walk from power boats power boats are always fun to watch kenny roberts from motorcycles and steve gibbs from drag racing.
• 19:52
Speaker 3: Earnhardt 50 is uh worthy of Dave Wilwalk from Powerboats Powerboats are always fun to watch Kenny Roberts from Motorcycles and Steve Gibbs from Drag Racing.
• 19:54
Speaker 3: Earnhardt50 is worthy of the induction Two-decade career with NASCAR.
• 19:59
Speaker 3: He won back-to-back Xfinity Championships and, on a different note, which includes Dale, actually, the annual throwback event at Hickory Motor Speedway will now be known as the Throwback Classic.
• 20:10
Speaker 3: Flow Racing is recording the purse.
• 20:14
Speaker 3: They're the sponsor, that's Courtney Enders, courtney Enders that's why I threw this story in there.
• 20:19
Speaker 3: They're actually owned by Flow Sports as the parent company, but Flow Racing is where Courtney's at they're going to do it.
• 20:26
Speaker 3: Dale said that he owns part of the ZMAX Car Racing Tour.
• 20:29
Speaker 3: The goal is to put the series together with as many eyes as possible.
• 20:32
  Speaker 3: It's a throwback.
• 20:34
Speaker 3: They don't have to write the colors, they don't have to write the numbers or anything.
• 20:37
Speaker 3: It's just the old throwback.
• 20:39
Speaker 3: Racing is what it is.
• 20:40
Speaker 3: So he's doing that.
• 20:41
Speaker 3: Flow Racing is part of it.
• 20:43
  Speaker 3: They're the sponsors.
• 20:43
Speaker 3: We're actually communicating that on the air.
• 20:47
Speaker 3: So very, very cool stuff coming up for Dale in Flow Racing.
• 20:50
  Speaker 1: How exciting, yeah.
• 20:51
Speaker 1: Okay, time now for this hour's car review.
• 20:54
Speaker 1: Yours truly had the chance to drive the 2025 Hyundai Tucson Now.
• 21:00
Speaker 1: This vehicle was built, is built in Ulsan, korea, so it's going to get the tax on it.
• 21:09
Speaker 1: Available trim levels SEL and Limited.
• 21:12
Speaker 1: I had the hybrid, limited all-wheel drive.
• 21:16
Speaker 1: This is a small SUV.
• 21:18
Speaker 1: I want you to notice the angles over the wheel wells on this and I'll bring that up in just a minute.
• 21:22
Speaker 1: Seats five based on the fourth generation Tucson introduced in 2022.
• 21:28
Speaker 1: Attractive front fascia with edgy fender flares front and back, very unique to this, and that's a good thing, because it does make this a unique vehicle.
• 21:38
Speaker 1: Rear hatch has a sloping glass with a sun visor over it.
• 21:42
Speaker 1: Quad tail lamps with kicked up rear valance.
• 21:46
Speaker 1: That gives it that kind of off-roady look.
• 21:48
Speaker 1: Wheels are plug-in, exclusive Overall look.
• 21:52
Speaker 1: It's high marks in my opinion.
• 21:54
Speaker 1: What could use improvement?
• 21:54
Speaker 1: I'm not sure I do like that distinctive look.
• 21:57
Speaker 1: Interior highlights new big screen, includes the instruments and the infotainment system.
• 22:04
Speaker 1: A horizontal linear dash looks really good in this.
• 22:07
Speaker 1: An odd shifter on the steering column is a twist and push affair.
• 22:14
Speaker 1: Once you get used to it, it's no big deal, but thought how odd.
• 22:18
Speaker 1: Yeah, comfortable seating with a rugged faux leather interior.
• 22:25
Speaker 1: Adequate for this size SUV is the cargo room behind the second row.
• 22:29
Speaker 1: But I like the overall design.
• 22:31
Speaker 1: Just works just right.
• 22:33
Speaker 1: What could use improvement?
• 22:34
Speaker 1: An odd cell phone pad on the elongated center armrest and console.
• 22:41
Speaker 1: I guess you get used to it, but it puts your phone right there at your right arm, right hand.
• 22:47
  Speaker 1: Oh, it's right.
• 22:50
Speaker 3: It's an odd looking thing.
• 22:51
Speaker 3: Use it as maybe a controller or Well, I guess Car play, or you can see it at the bottom of the screen, see that 1.6 liter gasoline inline four cylinder engine coupled with the electric motor gives 268 horsepower, combined Torque 258, which is plenty.
• 23:09
Speaker 1: Six speed automatic transmission.
• 23:11
Speaker 1: Miles per gallon 35 across the board City highway and combined I got 32.7, over 356.4 miles, what I liked.
• 23:22
Speaker 1: Well, you can get up to 30 miles on electric only.
• 23:28
  Speaker 1: Wow.
• 23:29
Speaker 1: So you know, if you do the church thing once a week, you go to the grocery store, you take the kids to school, get home, plug it in, you're good to go.
• 23:38
Speaker 1: What could use improvement?
• 23:39
Speaker 1: The overall good combo with plenty of power.
• 23:45
Speaker 1: So no improvement there.
• 23:46
Speaker 1: It's just a comment that I wanted to make.
• 23:48
Speaker 1: I think that this is a good, well-rounded vehicle.
• 23:50
Speaker 1: Base trim price $49,045.
• 23:54
  Speaker 1: That's 4-0-9-4-5.
• 23:57
  Speaker 1: Prices tested $43,000.
• 24:00
Speaker 1: Base model price $41,000.
• 24:03
Speaker 1: Competitors Kia Niro plug-in hybrid $34,490 is where it starts.
• 24:11
  Speaker 1: Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid $40,445.
• 24:17
  Speaker 1: Ford Escape plug-in hybrid $38,400.
• 24:21
Speaker 1: So it's right in the smack dab middle of all of these and I'm not sure where the other ones are built, but obviously it may have an impact on you.
• 24:30
Speaker 1: Now, of course, the ones on the lot currently, I would imagine, do not have the tariff on it.
• 24:37
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's only for, like, new deliveries.
• 24:39
Speaker 3: I would say new deliveries to the country.
• 24:41
Speaker 3: Yeah, at the port Right.
• 24:43
Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, I read a story this morning that apparently there are several manufacturers that are holding their cars at the port of entry.
• 24:51
Speaker 1: So in other words, they haven't crossed the line yet into the United States.
• 24:56
Speaker 1: They're holding them at the port.
• 24:57
Speaker 1: So hopefully they can get this thing worked out and then, when they get worked out, Release the hounds?
• 25:03
Speaker 3: Yeah, so to speak, bring them in then.
• 25:06
Speaker 1: Yeah, the whole tariff thing has gone bonkers.
• 25:09
Speaker 1: What is it now on China?
• 25:10
Speaker 1: 145%, I think China's 145%, because it was 125% and then it went up when they retaliated.
• 25:19
Speaker 3: It went to 160%.
• 25:20
Speaker 3: Maybe it is 145%, I don't know 145% is what I heard Buy low sell high yeah On China.
• 25:28
  Speaker 3: Yeah, china.
• 25:30
Speaker 1: And you know, everybody's kind of really chomping at the bit as far as all the Chinese goods makers the plastic stuff, the stamp metal stuff, all the stuff that they make in China that we buy, even clothing.
• 25:42
Speaker 1: So all of these countries like Vietnam, of all places, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Thailand they're all stepping up saying don't worry about the tariffs, We'll give you free trade here with us, you give us free trade.
• 25:57
Speaker 1: You know that they're working around the clock to get those factories up and running so they can be the new Chinese fulfillment maker of all the stuff that we buy from China.
• 26:11
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think they're shooting themselves in the foot.
• 26:14
Speaker 3: I think that's kind of the idea, but we don't want to get into too much political stuff here.
• 26:18
Speaker 1: Thank, you and me low you, low time too.
• 26:21
Speaker 1: I just said that.
• 26:25
Speaker 3: Yeah, you did, I heard that.
• 26:27
  Speaker 1: Did you?
• 26:27
  Speaker 1: Yeah, I did.
• 26:28
Speaker 1: I've got a special feature that I've got coming up called Five Extinct Car Manufacturers that Should Make a Comeback.
• 26:34
Speaker 1: I think I'm going to do that.
• 26:36
  Speaker 1: I'll tell you.
• 26:37
Speaker 1: I think I'm going to do that, maybe in the next segment.
• 26:43
Speaker 3: What you got coming up?
• 26:43
  Speaker 3: We got stuff.
• 26:46
Speaker 3: Yeah, we got stuff.
• 26:48
Speaker 1: We got some good stuff, yeah, some good stuff.
• 26:50
Speaker 1: I think we're probably going to do it in the next segment coming up, okay, and if you want to, we can do it right off the top before we get to the recalls and the Hemmings soul car roundup.
• 27:04
Speaker 1: Sure, is that okay?
• 27:05
Speaker 1: Yeah, my brain's not working real well this morning.
• 27:07
  Speaker 1: What happened?
• 27:08
Speaker 1: As you can tell, Well, I had a couple of margaritas last night.
• 27:11
Speaker 1: If you want to know and you know what.
• 27:13
Speaker 1: You didn't help the situation by getting the third one and then say, oh, here, here, I have some more of this.
• 27:18
Speaker 1: So really I had two and a half margaritas last night.
• 27:20
Speaker 3: So he was trying to be helpful.
• 27:23
Speaker 1: Yeah, if you want to call it that, but you can see that clearly it's not been helpful.
• 27:33
  Speaker 3: I'm a giver.
• 27:33
  Speaker 3: I'm a giver.
• 27:36
  Speaker 1: He is.
• 27:36
  Speaker 1: Let's give it a half a drink.
