- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello, faithful listeners. Thank you so much for tuning in
- 0:02Speaker 1: to the Bible Explained podcast. And Hi, my name is Jen.
- 0:05Speaker 1: I am the host of this podcast, and we're going
- 0:07Speaker 1: to be reading Second Chronicles chapter twelve today, the entire
- 0:10Speaker 1: thing talking about the life and death of King ray
- 0:14Speaker 1: A Boham and how he certainly did not do what
- 0:17Speaker 1: God wanted him to do. We'll get into that in
- 0:19Speaker 1: just a moment. So the past couple weeks for me
- 0:28Speaker 1: have been very snowy. I'm actually looking out on my
- 0:30Speaker 1: deck right now and we probably have a good i
- 0:34Speaker 1: would say nine to ten inches of snow right now,
- 0:37Speaker 1: and it just keeps coming down. But it looks beautiful,
- 0:40Speaker 1: you know. It's that really like fluffy snow that is
- 0:43Speaker 1: really easy to get off your car. So it's nice.
- 0:46Speaker 1: It's not like super icy, so I'm thankful for that.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Ice is the worst. We had a really icy year
- 0:51Speaker 1: last year and actually my husband fell and like messed
- 0:55Speaker 1: up his thumb. So I'm thankful that it's not super
- 0:58Speaker 1: icy this year. Yet, very thankful for that. Tell me
- 1:01Speaker 1: how the weather is where you guys are, I'd love
- 1:03Speaker 1: to hear about that. And if you live in a nice,
- 1:05Speaker 1: warm climate, please contact me so I can live vicariously
- 1:09Speaker 1: through you. You know, I'm just craving some nice warm weather,
- 1:14Speaker 1: all right, favor listeners, don't forget. I am going to
- 1:17Speaker 1: be taking a short break from tomorrow all the way
- 1:21Speaker 1: to next Wednesday, and then next Thursday there will be
- 1:24Speaker 1: an episode on the podcast once again, and I'm very
- 1:27Speaker 1: much looking forward to this week long break that I'm
- 1:29Speaker 1: taking because this is one of the first times in
- 1:32Speaker 1: about eight years that my husband is also taking time
- 1:35Speaker 1: off at the same time. So that is why I'm
- 1:38Speaker 1: going to be taking this break is just to see
- 1:41Speaker 1: my husband again. You know, It's been eight years since
- 1:44Speaker 1: we spent like an extended period of time together. So yeah,
- 1:47Speaker 1: I'm definitely looking forward to it, and once again, thank
- 1:50Speaker 1: you for the time off that you all are giving
- 1:52Speaker 1: to me. Let's go ahead and read Second Chronicles twelve
- 1:55Speaker 1: one through sixteen, which is the entire chapter, and we
- 1:58Speaker 1: will finish discussing the life of Raeboam and also the
- 2:01Speaker 1: death of Raeboam and some of the problems that Israel
- 2:04Speaker 1: is now beginning to experience under the reign of Raeboam.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I'll be reading this as usual from the w EB
- 2:11Speaker 1: when the kingdom of Reeboam was established, and he was strong.
- 2:15Speaker 1: He abandoned Yahwa's law and all Israel with him. In
- 2:18Speaker 1: the fifth year of King Rayeboam, Shei Shak, king of Egypt,
- 2:22Speaker 1: came up against Jerusalem because they had trespassed against Yahweh.
- 2:25Speaker 1: With twelve hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen. The people
- 2:29Speaker 1: were without number who came with him out of Egypt,
- 2:31Speaker 1: the Lubim, the Sukim, and the Ethiopians. He took the
- 2:35Speaker 1: fortified cities which belonged to Judah and came to Jerusalem.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Now Shamehah the prophet came to Reeboam and to the
- 2:41Speaker 1: princes of Judah who were gathered together to Jerusalem because
- 2:44Speaker 1: of she Shak, and he said to them, Yahweh says,
- 2:47Speaker 1: you have forsaken me. Therefore I have also left you
- 2:49Speaker 1: in the hand of she Shak. Then the princes of
- 2:52Speaker 1: Israel and the king humbled themselves, and they said, Yahweh
- 2:56Speaker 1: is righteous. When Yahweh saw that they humbled themselves, they
- 3:00Speaker 1: Alwai's word came to Shemea, saying, they have humbled themselves.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I will not destroy them, but I will grant them
- 3:05Speaker 1: some deliverance, and my wrath won't be poured out on
- 3:08Speaker 1: Jerusalem by the hand of she Shak. Nevertheless, they will
- 3:11Speaker 1: be his servants, that they may know my service and
- 3:13Speaker 1: the service of the kingdoms of the countries. So she Shak,
- 3:17Speaker 1: king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem and took away
- 3:20Speaker 1: the treasures of Yahway's house and the treasures of the
- 3:22Speaker 1: king's house. He took it all away. He also took
- 3:25Speaker 1: away the shields of gold which Solomon had made. King
- 3:29Speaker 1: Rayaboam made shields of bronze in their place, and committed
- 3:32Speaker 1: them to the hands of the captains of the guard,
- 3:34Speaker 1: who kept the door of the king's house. As often
- 3:36Speaker 1: as the king entered into Yawai's house, the guard came
- 3:39Speaker 1: and bore them, then brought them back into the guard room.
- 3:42Speaker 1: When he humbled himself, y Alwais wrath turned from him,
- 3:45Speaker 1: so as not to destroy him altogether. Moreover, there were
- 3:49Speaker 1: good things found in Judah, so King Raaboam strengthened himself
- 3:53Speaker 1: in Jerusalem and reigned for Reaboam was forty one years
- 3:56Speaker 1: old when he began to reign, and he reigned a
- 3:58Speaker 1: seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which Yahweh had chosen
- 4:01Speaker 1: out of all of the tribes of Israel to put
- 4:03Speaker 1: his name there. His mother's name was Nama the Ammonitis.
- 4:07Speaker 1: He did that which was evil because he didn't set
- 4:09Speaker 1: his heart to seek Yahweh. Now the acts of rae
- 4:12Speaker 1: Boam first and last, aren't they written in the histories
- 4:15Speaker 1: of Shemeah the Prophet and of Ido the Seer in
- 4:18Speaker 1: the genealogies. There were wars between Reeboam and Jereboam. Continually,
- 4:23Speaker 1: Reaboam slept with his fathers and was buried in David's city,
- 4:26Speaker 1: and Abaijah, his son, reigned in his place. So, as
- 4:32Speaker 1: we found out in the last chapter, King Reeboam's reign
- 4:35Speaker 1: was pretty rocky. He started out quite bad. Actually, within
- 4:39Speaker 1: the first three days of becoming the king, he started
- 4:41Speaker 1: a civil war, which was not a good look on him.
- 4:47Speaker 1: He basically fractured Israel days after becoming the king. So
- 4:50Speaker 1: now Israel is split into two separate nations. Now, the
- 4:54Speaker 1: northern nation of Israel was just called Israel, and then
- 4:57Speaker 1: the southern nation of Israel was called Judah, and that
- 5:00Speaker 1: was where Rayeboam gained a lot of power. So he
- 5:02Speaker 1: was down in Judah and then up north, this guy
- 5:05Speaker 1: named Jeroboam was in charge up there, and after all
- 5:09Speaker 1: that happened, Raeboam decided he was going to try to
- 5:12Speaker 1: go to war with the Jeroboam, but that didn't work
- 5:15Speaker 1: out because God specifically told rae Boam, you will not
- 5:19Speaker 1: go to war with your brothers, So Raaboam didn't end
- 5:22Speaker 1: up going to war and instead decided to fortify all
- 5:26Speaker 1: of the cities in Israel. And meanwhile, Jereboam up north
- 5:30Speaker 1: is causing trouble of his own. He's instituting a state
- 5:34Speaker 1: run religion where the people wouldn't have to travel down
- 5:37Speaker 1: to Judah to Jerusalem to worship Yahweh there, they could
- 5:41Speaker 1: just stay in northern Israel and worship Yahweh at these
- 5:45Speaker 1: calf idols that Jeroboam had made. So Jeroboam introduced a
- 5:50Speaker 1: lot of idolatry in northern Israel that caused the devout
- 5:54Speaker 1: people of Israel to actually leave, especially the Levites, because
- 5:58Speaker 1: the Levites were supposed to be the priests of Yahweh,
- 6:03Speaker 1: and since Jeroboam made his own religion, he had no
- 6:05Speaker 1: need for the levitical priests, so the Levites actually left
- 6:09Speaker 1: to go down to Judah and become priests there, so
- 6:14Speaker 1: very few devout people were actually left in northern Israel.
- 6:17Speaker 1: And since the Levites went down to Judah, they actually
- 6:20Speaker 1: strengthened Raeboam's kingdom so much so that Raaboam was strong.
- 6:25Speaker 1: It says for three years straight, nobody wanted to mess
- 6:29Speaker 1: with raye Boam. But after that happened, rae Boam's heart
- 6:33Speaker 1: started to turn away from Yahweh. And we saw evidence
- 6:37Speaker 1: of this in the last chapter when Reeboam was beginning
- 6:40Speaker 1: to marry all of these women similarly to how Solomon
- 6:44Speaker 1: had done. And we know that one of the main
- 6:46Speaker 1: reasons Solomon's heart was so far away from God was
- 6:48Speaker 1: because of the amount of women that he had married,
- 6:51Speaker 1: and Raaboam is now doing the exact same thing. So
- 6:54Speaker 1: it's no shocker when we read our passage for today,
- 6:56Speaker 1: and the first verse is when the kingdom of Reeboam
- 6:59Speaker 1: was established and he was strong, he abandoned Yahweh's law
- 7:03Speaker 1: and all Israel with him. That is obviously what was
- 7:06Speaker 1: going to happen when rae Boam is following all of
- 7:10Speaker 1: the bad things that his father did. So Raeboam's strength
- 7:15Speaker 1: did not continue because he abandoned God's law, and we
- 7:20Speaker 1: actually find out what Israel did in First Kings fourteen.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Second Chronicles doesn't go specifically into it, but First Kings
- 7:27Speaker 1: fourteen does. So let's read First Kings fourteen twenty one
- 7:32Speaker 1: through twenty four. Rayeboam, the son of Solomon, reigned in Judah.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Raeboam was forty one years old when he began to reign,
- 7:38Speaker 1: and he reigned his seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city
- 7:41Speaker 1: which Yahweh had chosen out of all of the tribes
- 7:43Speaker 1: of Israel to put his name there. His mother's name
- 7:45Speaker 1: was Nama. The Ammonitis. Judah did that which was evil
- 7:48Speaker 1: in Yaway's sight, and they provoked him to jealousy with
- 7:51Speaker 1: their sins, which they had committed above all that their
- 7:54Speaker 1: fathers had done. For They also built for themselves high places,
- 7:58Speaker 1: sacred pillars and ashra poles on every high hill and
- 8:02Speaker 1: under every green tree. There were also sodomites in the land.
- 8:06Speaker 1: They did according to all the abominations of the nations,
- 8:09Speaker 1: which Yahweh drove out before the children of Israel. So
- 8:12Speaker 1: it's pretty clear there that Israel fell very hard, very quickly.
- 8:17Speaker 1: At first, they were worshiping Yahweh. But then once everything
- 8:20Speaker 1: got comfy and people started getting complacent, they allowed these
- 8:24Speaker 1: other idols to come in, specifically the ashero pull, the
- 8:28Speaker 1: sacred pillars and high places. They built all of these
- 8:33Speaker 1: things just in a short time frame after Raeboam became king,
- 8:38Speaker 1: because this would have happened within five years of the
- 8:42Speaker 1: start of Raeboham's reign. And notice here there were also
- 8:46Speaker 1: sodomites in the land, is what first Kings fourteen twenty
- 8:49Speaker 1: four says, and the entire nation of Israel did according
- 8:52Speaker 1: to all the abominations of the nations, which Yahweh drove
- 8:55Speaker 1: out before the children of Israel. So in other words,
- 8:58Speaker 1: the people were once again in these sex cults that
- 9:01Speaker 1: were very popular in these days. That's what the sodomites
- 9:06Speaker 1: would have been. Most likely were male prostitutes who would
- 9:10Speaker 1: sell themselves for sex with other men for like a
- 9:15Speaker 1: religious kind of ritual. So homosexuality became rampant in Israel
- 9:21Speaker 1: during this time also, and this was all under the
- 9:23Speaker 1: watch of Raya Boam. So what ends up happening. Turning
- 9:27Speaker 1: back to second Chronicles twelve, in the fifth year of
- 9:30Speaker 1: King Raabom, she Shack the king of Egypt came up
- 9:33Speaker 1: against Jerusalem because they had trespassed against Yahweh with twelve
- 9:38Speaker 1: hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen. Now historically we know
- 9:43Speaker 1: that this event actually happened. She Shak was a really
- 9:45Speaker 1: pivotal figure actually for Egypt at this time. He made
- 9:49Speaker 1: Egypt great again. Before she Shack, Egypt was not nearly
- 9:54Speaker 1: as strong as it once had been. And she Shack,
- 9:57Speaker 1: I believe, was a Libyan man who went to Egypt
- 10:01Speaker 1: and started kind of promoting himself by becoming friends with
- 10:06Speaker 1: all of the priests in Egypt. Not to mention, she
- 10:10Speaker 1: Shak married very well and gained standing with a lot
- 10:13Speaker 1: of the leaders of Egypt, so much so that he
- 10:17Speaker 1: ended up becoming the next pharaoh of Egypt. And once
- 10:21Speaker 1: he became the pharaoh and started making Egypt really strong again,
- 10:24Speaker 1: he started looking outward, like what land can we take?
- 10:27Speaker 1: So when he sees Israel in the middle of a
- 10:30Speaker 1: civil war, he's like, boom, that's where we're going to go.
- 10:34Speaker 1: We are going to go to Israel and just completely
- 10:36Speaker 1: destroy them. And that's actually what Shi Shak did. He
- 10:40Speaker 1: didn't just take stuff from Judah. He actually went into
- 10:43Speaker 1: northern Israel as well, because Northern Israel, of course was sinning.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Also in general, Israel had abandoned Yahweh fully, so she
- 10:51Speaker 1: Shak went into Israel and did a lot of damage there. However,
- 10:56Speaker 1: God did not allow Shei Shak to destroy Israel completely,
- 11:00Speaker 1: and that's laid out right here in verse four. It
- 11:04Speaker 1: says he took the fortified cities which belonged to Judah,
- 11:06Speaker 1: and he came to Jerusalem. Now, Shameah the Prophet came
- 11:09Speaker 1: to Rea Boam and to the princes of Judah who
- 11:12Speaker 1: were gathered together to Jerusalem because of she Shak, and
- 11:14Speaker 1: said to them, Yahweh says, you have forsaken me. Therefore
- 11:18Speaker 1: I have left you in the hand of she Shak. So,
- 11:22Speaker 1: in other words, because Israel had forsaken God's law and
- 11:26Speaker 1: started doing everything that the nations before them had done,
- 11:30Speaker 1: the things that God found absolutely sickening. God says, well,
- 11:35Speaker 1: you don't want to worship me, then I'm not going
- 11:37Speaker 1: to be with you anymore because you're worshiping other gods.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Let your other gods save you from these problems that
- 11:43Speaker 1: you are having. And that word came to Shamea the prophet,
- 11:47Speaker 1: and once again this guy, Shamiyah. This is like the
- 11:49Speaker 1: only time he's ever really mentioned at all in scripture
- 11:52Speaker 1: is right here and in the previous chapter, and not
- 11:56Speaker 1: to mention also in First Kings he's mentioned briefly. So
- 11:59Speaker 1: he was a prophet that we don't really know a
- 12:01Speaker 1: lot about, not mentioned very often in scripture, but yet
- 12:04Speaker 1: he apparently played a pretty pivotal role with Raye Boam,
- 12:09Speaker 1: telling Raye Boam what God was saying. And so Shameah
- 12:13Speaker 1: went to Raye Boam and told him, you guys are sinning,
- 12:17Speaker 1: and this is why this is happening. And so in
- 12:19Speaker 1: verse six it says the princes of Israel and the
- 12:23Speaker 1: King humbled themselves, and they said, yahweh is righteous. Whenever
- 12:29Speaker 1: you see somebody humbling themselves, that usually means that they
- 12:34Speaker 1: admit that they have done something wrong and that they
- 12:37Speaker 1: deserve their punishment. So the King and the princes of Israel,
- 12:43Speaker 1: the leaders of Israel, now realize that they have done
- 12:47Speaker 1: something seriously wrong, and so they do in fact humble themselves.
- 12:51Speaker 1: And so when God saw verse seven that they humbled themselves,
- 12:55Speaker 1: Yahwi's word came to Shamea, saying, they have humbled themselves.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I will not destroy them, but I will grant them
- 13:02Speaker 1: some deliverance, and my wrath won't be poured out on
- 13:04Speaker 1: Jerusalem by the hand of she Shack. Nevertheless, they will
- 13:08Speaker 1: be His servants that they may know My service and
- 13:10Speaker 1: the service of the kingdoms of the countries. So what
- 13:14Speaker 1: God is saying there is that He's going to give
- 13:15Speaker 1: Judah some deliverance. They're not going to be completely destroyed. However,
- 13:21Speaker 1: they're going to have to serve she Shack, the king
- 13:24Speaker 1: of Egypt, specifically for the reason that Israel learns what
- 13:29Speaker 1: it's like to serve a human master. That's what God
- 13:34Speaker 1: says right here. Nevertheless, they will be his servants so
- 13:37Speaker 1: that they may know My service and the service of
- 13:39Speaker 1: the kingdoms of the countries. This reminds me of something
- 13:42Speaker 1: that Jesus said in the New Testament. He said, take
- 13:45Speaker 1: my yoke upon you, because my yoke is easy and
- 13:49Speaker 1: my burden is light. So, yes, we do have a
- 13:54Speaker 1: role in serving God, like when we worship God, when
- 13:58Speaker 1: we become Christians, we are serving him. But serving God
- 14:04Speaker 1: is so much easier, like his burden is so light
- 14:07Speaker 1: compared to any of the other burdens, any of the
- 14:10Speaker 1: other masters that we might serve. And that's what God
- 14:14Speaker 1: is saying right here to Smeah. He's like, I Am
- 14:17Speaker 1: going to allow Sheeshak to come in and take parts
- 14:21Speaker 1: of Judah so that Judah learns is it better to
- 14:25Speaker 1: serve a human master or is it better to serve me.
- 14:30Speaker 1: So she Shak, king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem
- 14:33Speaker 1: and took away the treasures of Yahwai's house. In the
- 14:36Speaker 1: treasures of the king's house, he took it all away.
- 14:40Speaker 1: So all of the wealth that Solomon had built for
- 14:43Speaker 1: himself and for Israel is now gone. It is gone.
- 14:48Speaker 1: It is now in Egypt. She Shack also took away
- 14:53Speaker 1: the shields of gold which Solomon had made. We talked
- 14:56Speaker 1: about those a few chapters ago. Solomon had made these
- 15:00Speaker 1: just beautiful golden shields that were worth hundreds of thousands
- 15:05Speaker 1: of dollars apiece, and he made hundreds of them. So
- 15:09Speaker 1: now millions of dollars worth of gold are with she Shak,
- 15:15Speaker 1: and ray A Boam has nothing anymore that his father
- 15:18Speaker 1: left him, absolutely nothing. She Shack took it all away,
- 15:22Speaker 1: is what it said. So King Raye Bouam in order
- 15:25Speaker 1: to keep up appearances, and this is really embarrassing. Quite honestly,
- 15:28Speaker 1: King Raya Boam made shields of bronze in their place
- 15:32Speaker 1: and committed them to the hands of the captains of
- 15:34Speaker 1: the guard who kept the door of the king's house.
- 15:38Speaker 1: As often as the king entered into the yaway's house,
- 15:40Speaker 1: the guard came and bore them, then brought them back
- 15:43Speaker 1: into the guardroom. So now all of these beautiful shields
- 15:47Speaker 1: made of gold are gone, and Raye Baoam, in order
- 15:51Speaker 1: to make it look like he is as wise and
- 15:55Speaker 1: as prosperous as his father, he replaces the gold shield
- 16:00Speaker 1: with bronze. Now it's embarrassing about that is that when
- 16:06Speaker 1: Solomon was the king, You'll remember a verse that said
- 16:09Speaker 1: that Solomon made silver as common as the stones in
- 16:13Speaker 1: the street. So, in other words, silver totally lost its
- 16:17Speaker 1: value under the days of Solomon because of how rich
- 16:22Speaker 1: Solomon had made Israel. And now Raa Boham can't even
- 16:27Speaker 1: replace these shields with other golden shields. He has to
- 16:31Speaker 1: replace them with a very cheap metal, specifically bronze, because
- 16:36Speaker 1: you know, polished bronze it can look similar to gold,
- 16:39Speaker 1: but it's not nearly as beautiful or as expensive as
- 16:43Speaker 1: gold was. Reabaham did this to keep up appearances. It
- 16:48Speaker 1: was just a fake imitation that honestly probably didn't even
- 16:52Speaker 1: need to be done. But Reabaouam would display these shields
- 16:56Speaker 1: every single time he went to Yahweh's house. He was
- 17:00Speaker 1: trying to keep up appearances. That was all this really was.
- 17:04Speaker 1: And noticed that it says that he did this whenever
- 17:07Speaker 1: he entered into Yahweh's house, So he was really putting
- 17:11Speaker 1: on a show. Every single time he went to the
- 17:13Speaker 1: temple to worship. He would put on this big show
- 17:16Speaker 1: to make it look like he was a true Yahweh follower.
- 17:20Speaker 1: But yet his heart was not really with Yahweh. Verse
- 17:24Speaker 1: twelve says when he humbled himself, Yahweh's wrath was turned
- 17:27Speaker 1: from him so as not to destroy him altogether. Moreover,
- 17:30Speaker 1: there were good things found in Judah, so that means
- 17:33Speaker 1: whenever Raya Boham truly had a heart change toward Yahweh,
- 17:37Speaker 1: God would show mercy on him. And even though she
- 17:40Speaker 1: Shaq went in and basically looted Judah, there were still
- 17:44Speaker 1: good things found in the city. There were still places
- 17:47Speaker 1: that were prosperous, there were still people who were wealthy,
- 17:51Speaker 1: but overall the glory of Israel is now essentially gone.
- 17:56Speaker 1: So King Raya Bohm, it says, strengthen himself in Jerusalem
- 17:59Speaker 1: and rain. For Raaboam was forty one years old when
- 18:02Speaker 1: he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem,
- 18:05Speaker 1: the city which Yahweh had chosen out of all the
- 18:06Speaker 1: tribes of Israel to put his name there. His mother's
- 18:09Speaker 1: name was Nama the Ammonitis. He did that, which was
- 18:11Speaker 1: evil because he didn't set his heart to seek Yahweh.
- 18:15Speaker 1: So even though Raya Boam did have moments of heart
- 18:18Speaker 1: change towards Yahweh, overall he did nothing but evil. He
- 18:23Speaker 1: didn't truly set his heart on Yahweh. The way David had,
- 18:28Speaker 1: Raaboam's heart was constantly drifting with the tides. It was
- 18:32Speaker 1: constantly just going wherever he felt like he wanted to go.
- 18:36Speaker 1: If he wanted to worship Yahweh one day, he would
- 18:39Speaker 1: do that. If he wanted to worship the Asherah the
- 18:41Speaker 1: next day, he would do that. He just didn't have
- 18:44Speaker 1: a solid foundation in God, so he did evil in
- 18:49Speaker 1: the sight of God, is what it said. Now the
- 18:53Speaker 1: acts of Raya Boam first and last, aren't they written
- 18:56Speaker 1: in the histories of Smeah the Prophet and of Edo
- 18:58Speaker 1: the Seer in the genieologies. Now we don't have either
- 19:01Speaker 1: of those books. Those have been lost to history, but
- 19:04Speaker 1: that doesn't mean that the Bible is not complete just
- 19:07Speaker 1: because it references a book that we no longer have.
- 19:11Speaker 1: It probably would be very fun to learn more about
- 19:13Speaker 1: Reaboam and some of these other kings, but God has
- 19:17Speaker 1: preserved his word and we have exactly what we need
- 19:20Speaker 1: to know in it. There were wars between Reaboam and
- 19:23Speaker 1: Jeroboam continually, so that's pretty interesting because in the last
- 19:27Speaker 1: chapter it actually said that Reaboam did not go out
- 19:30Speaker 1: to war when God specifically told him not to. But
- 19:33Speaker 1: here we find out that Reeboam and Jeroboam were actually
- 19:36Speaker 1: at war. So it could have been a cold war
- 19:39Speaker 1: where there wasn't a lot of violence, or there could
- 19:41Speaker 1: have been some battles breaking out here and there. Or
- 19:44Speaker 1: this could have also been Reaboam later in life going
- 19:47Speaker 1: and attacking Jeroboam, or Jeroboam himself initiating a lot of
- 19:52Speaker 1: these fights. So even though Reaboam didn't initially go out
- 19:55Speaker 1: to war with Israel, that doesn't mean that later on
- 19:58Speaker 1: he didn't change his mind and just do whatever he
- 20:01Speaker 1: wanted to do, because as we can see, that's kind
- 20:04Speaker 1: of how ray Bohm is. He just does whatever he
- 20:06Speaker 1: wants to do. Ree Baham verse sixteen slept with his
- 20:09Speaker 1: fathers and was buried in David City, and a Bijah,
- 20:12Speaker 1: his son, reigned in his place. So we'll talk about
- 20:14Speaker 1: the life of a bai Jah when I get back
- 20:16Speaker 1: from my sabbatical that I am taking starting tomorrow, So
- 20:20Speaker 1: faithful listeners, I will see all of you on Thursday.
- 20:24Speaker 1: There won't be an episode for you members this Friday either,
- 20:27Speaker 1: but next Thursday I will be back to do an
- 20:30Speaker 1: episode from First Timothy for you guys, and then the
- 20:34Speaker 1: week after that we'll get into the life of a Bijah,
- 20:37Speaker 1: the son of Raya Boham. So faithful listeners, I hope
- 20:40Speaker 1: you have a fantastic and wonderful week. I will see
- 20:44Speaker 1: all of you guys next Thursday, bright and early for
- 20:47Speaker 1: an episode from First Timothy. Happy listening, and God bless
