Two Connecticut state senators are pushing for stronger sexual assault laws following rape allegations at Cornell University. Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox and Tony Hwang want to close a legal loophole involving voluntary intoxication, saying technicalities should not undermine protections for survivors. They also want to have more public conversations surrounding the case beyond just politics.
