- 0:02This is an Unspoiled Network podcast This is spoil Me, covering one piece episodes
- 0:14three eighty eight, three eighty nine, and three ninety. In these episodes,
- 0:23we get, in my opinion, the best joke of the show so
- 0:28far. It's so dumb. It's so dumb, and it's resolution is even
- 0:36dumber than that, and it is truly this is what I'm here for with
- 0:42this show. This is it, This is it. Welcome to spoil Me,
- 1:06Welcome to the show everyone. I am Natasha. Thank you very much
- 1:10to Gabriella for commissioning this episode. What's up, Gabby if you're out there
- 1:17so top of the episode, I just want to mention a couple of things.
- 1:22One I had thought once Sam was healed up, he would no longer
- 1:25be in my office, but it turns out that him and Pip just do
- 1:27not get along. So sometimes I'm going to have him in here because they
- 1:32have to be separated at all times, even though he is fully healed,
- 1:34so that's going to be a challenge. But bear with me. Second thing
- 1:40that I'm really really excited about, and most of the people who are here
- 1:44in the chat are also probably patrons, so this won't apply for y'all,
- 1:48but those of you who are listening to this who are not patrons and who
- 1:53would like to be able to stay in touch about what else I'm working on,
- 1:57but are not able to become paying patrons. Patreon in their wisdom.
- 2:05And I say this with total sincerity, even though usually that phrase is meant
- 2:09to be very sarcastic. They have finally made an unpaid tier, which means
- 2:16you're a member of the community on Patreon in that you can see all of
- 2:23the public posts and get email updates about them, but you don't have to
- 2:28pay unless you don't get access to the specifically paid content. And for me,
- 2:35this is such a godsend because I think anybody who has been on Facebook
- 2:40or Twitter lately has noticed that they very infrequently see shit from their actual pages
- 2:46that they follow in their actual friends. Mostly social media has decided that it's
- 2:52going to show us lots of ads, lots of videos of people mixing color
- 2:58into slime or frosting cakes. At least that's what they like to show me
- 3:02a lot and more ads usually, so it's made it kind of pointless for
- 3:10me. I try to share links whenever I'm going live with something or to
- 3:15let people know in events coming up on all of those platforms, like as
- 3:19much as I can, but I get almost no engagement. And I have
- 3:23almost four thousand followers on Facebook. Do you guys know the average engagement I
- 3:28get proposed? It's literally like forty people. It feels like a complete waste
- 3:34of my time. So if you are somebody who has been like wanting to
- 3:38see some of the other stuff that I'm up to, or get alerts when
- 3:42I'm doing a special event of some kind, go to Patreon, scroll past
- 3:46the like paid tiers, and it'll say just join the community and you can
- 3:52become part of that on Patreon. And I'm going to start doing like infoblasts
- 3:57here and there more regularly because previous to this, my only option was to
- 4:01do a an email, and those are really a big pain to put together
- 4:06and you tend to like get a lot of people not opening it. This
- 4:11is something that's a little bit like because it's coming from Patreon and it's not
- 4:16going to get filtered straight into spam and stuff usually. So I just wanted
- 4:23to let everybody know about those two things. And then the very last one
- 4:27is that Patreon has also enabled me to sell sound files from Patreon instead of
- 4:32having to do it on my website, which is where I've been selling like
- 4:35Avatar, The Last Airbender coverage and stuff. And it's another just great thing
- 4:41for me because that was a whole separate payment system and I was having to
- 4:46pay like a higher percentage off the top for that, and also having to
- 4:49pay for the plug in itself and to renew it, and also it didn't
- 4:54always work. It was kind of fidgety. So I'm going to be moving
- 4:59some of the paid stuff over there to make it a little bit easier.
- 5:01And I'm hoping that everybody who you know has been frustrated with my website now
- 5:10can just go over to Patreon dot com slash unspoiled once again, that's Patreon
- 5:15dot com slash owns boiled and get all of the things that you've been looking
- 5:19for on my website maybe put together more successfully. My website is just not
- 5:26it's not the place to be. I tried to make it the place to
- 5:29be. That'sh It's too much work, guys. I make too much content.
- 5:31I can't keep up. It's just not going to happen. So anyway,
- 5:34I thank you very much for bearing with me on those announcements. I
- 5:40won't be doing another announcement like this on these on one piece boil me is
- 5:45because I figure if you missed it, you missed it. But um okay,
- 5:49So now let's get into this episode. So Seraphim is in the chat,
- 5:54so a little bit from last time. The whole explanation for why Papa
- 5:58can talk is another case of Odo just loving his wordplay that only makes sense
- 6:01in Japanese. He is a starfish, he who thought he was a human
- 6:08Hito. Oh, I see what you're saying. Oh that's fun. Yeah,
- 6:15that's a shame that that doesn't translate. Like, I appreciate that you
- 6:17translated it, but it would be very fun for that to pop up when
- 6:21you don't like you know, you're a native speaker and you don't need somebody
- 6:26to point it out and just be like, oh I see what he did
- 6:28there, Florian Yet what design is a bitch? It truly is, And
- 6:31like, I don't I would love to go to square space because it's definitely
- 6:36easier, but they do not allow file size. It's big enough for my
- 6:42shows, you guys, A swear to god, I feel like a fucking
- 6:46freak. I do everything that's like, oh, made for podcasters, and
- 6:51they're like, it's an our maximum and I'm like, it's what I could
- 6:57do that barely alone. For spoil me, Rashawn and I have not done
- 7:03an under one hour and forty minute podcast. And I don't even remember when.
- 7:09Literally the last like the last song of Ways and Fire episode we put
- 7:15out was I think two hours and twenty minutes. It was something insane.
- 7:20So anyway, so let's get back to this, this fucking tragedy, the
- 7:30truth hidden under Duval's mask. I just realized I didn't read the titles of
- 7:34the episodes, but that's okay. So this dies this joke. What we
- 7:41get here. I was wondering how long it was gonna take for us to
- 7:44see his face, and I kind of thought it might be like dragged out
- 7:47even more, because what it turns out is going on here is a very
- 7:53short, little blip. It seems like by the end of this trio of
- 7:58episodes, we've dealt with all and we have moved on. That crunching sound.
- 8:03Is Sam really going to town on a venison chew? So sorry about
- 8:07that? And instead, like I had expected for Duvall to maybe be the
- 8:15big bad of this arc, and it's just like, I guess he could
- 8:22be still, like, I don't think so, but perhaps I just really
- 8:26didn't expect for us to wrap things up. And I'm sort of wondering y'all
- 8:35if you can give me some other examples, because I am positive that this
- 8:41has happened before, but I'm having trouble remembering every arc has got a big
- 8:46bad, and that big bad usually has his henchmen who our friends have to
- 8:50deal with first, and then they get to the big bad and everybody gets
- 8:56like sort of separated, and they each have to deal with their own particular
- 9:00henchmen because based on their abilities, they get sent to deal with whoever they're
- 9:05most likely to be able to handle. But a guy like this who's a
- 9:13battie and very determined to go after them, but doesn't have a sustained arc
- 9:20of any kind and is taken care of in just a few episodes, I
- 9:26feel like the only times I've seen this really are when it's a filler episode
- 9:31or what y'all call a filler episode. I don't always agree with you,
- 9:35nevertheless, so I'm just kind of trying to remember if this has ever occurred,
- 9:41because I really enjoy how unexpected it was to think I'm like, oh,
- 9:46okay, I know what we're going into here, and instead it's sort
- 9:52of a one off, and it feels like it could have been considered filler
- 9:54if it weren't for the fact that it ties in with the wanted sign,
- 9:58which of course that's a ma you know, plot thread. Anyway, so
- 10:05we picked up, We're still in the midst of this fight and loofy,
- 10:09unsurprisingly it's extremely taken with the flying fish. So he uses his rubber arms
- 10:16to like reach up and grab a guy out of the seat and then jump
- 10:20onto the fish himself and he just tosses that guy, I assume to his
- 10:24death. This reminds me of I don't know how many of y'all have watched
- 10:31Daredevil, but Daredevil the series on Netflix. The whole thing with him was
- 10:39that he fought, but he tried not to kill, Like it was just
- 10:43not something that he wanted to be responsible for. But somebody once did,
- 10:48Like I think it was a YouTube short where they compiled the clips of every
- 10:54moment where he in a fight would have dealt somebody fatal head injuries or by
- 11:03throwing somebody over a stairwell would have inflicted fatal head injuries, and they all
- 11:09basically were like, Yeah, this guy says he doesn't kill people, but
- 11:11he like kills people a whole lot actually, So yeah, he's up there
- 11:18flying around, and of course it's Chopper who's the first one to be like,
- 11:24um, what about if he falls? Because he is a devil fruit
- 11:30eater and that means that he cannot swim, and it turns out that that
- 11:35is indeed a problem. At the time when he voices this concern, Sanji
- 11:39literally says, whatever, which Sanji, but you know what, you know
- 11:48what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna be generous here, and I'm gonna say
- 11:52that that whatever isn't so much that Sanji doesn't care. It's more Sanji accepting
- 11:58that there's nothing that he can do. And I don't even mean in terms
- 12:03of like this particular instance where he can't go up there and take Loofy off
- 12:07of the back of the flying fish. I mean that Sanji has come to
- 12:11accept that there's nothing he can do regarding making loofy except his own limitations.
- 12:20He's essentially given up on the whole concept of like keep this in mind and
- 12:26be cautious when you do X Y Z. He's just like, yeah,
- 12:28that's super not how he operates. And I have kind of tried a few
- 12:35times to point out that, you know, whatever he's about to do is
- 12:39not a good idea, and I will tell you how it goes, and
- 12:41that is it doesn't. He barely notices I have spoken, unless it is
- 12:46about food. So all of these guys in the Flying Fish they have bombs
- 12:52that they drop from above, and there's a moment that I wasn't totally sure
- 12:58what happened. It's not important, but I was just curious about it.
- 13:01When the bombs come down, Sanji does his kicking thing and he kicks all
- 13:07of the bombs away from the ship and they explode in a circle around the
- 13:09ship, and Robin is shown to have like moved her hands in such a
- 13:13way that she was going to do something, but Sani does his kicking thing
- 13:20and she sort of pulls back. And I was trying to see if she
- 13:24had thought she needed to step in and then it turned out not to be
- 13:26necessary, or if she had done something like with in conjunction with Sangie's kick,
- 13:37and I don't think she did. I think it's just meant to be
- 13:39that these guys are not a big enough threat that everybody needs to be all
- 13:43hands on deck at once. She could literally kind of just sit back because
- 13:46it's not a big deal for them to cope. But I just wanted to
- 13:52make sure that I didn't miss anything with her ability. So yeah, this
- 13:58is the moment where Nami is First of all, he says like, if
- 14:03they hit a lady with any of those bombs, they'll be hell to pay.
- 14:07Nami says, pull the sails in because they're going to get in the
- 14:11way, which is a really good point, not only in terms of,
- 14:16you know, just just these bombs coming down, but also if you can.
- 14:22They are I don't think real great at stationery flying. It seems like
- 14:28they're not hummingbirds. They can't stay in place. They just sort of fly
- 14:33past. So maybe if you stand still in this ship it'll be more difficult
- 14:39for them. I don't know. Anyway, it does not matter. So
- 14:43we then see Lufy he passes by underwater with a look of terror on his
- 14:50face. We then see both Chopper and Brook go passed in a similar manner.
- 14:58We don't really see them get rescue. You'd we just see them suddenly
- 15:01on shore and everybody panting, like it's clear what happened. And I appreciate
- 15:07Nami being like, you know what, I should have just let you assholes
- 15:09sink because this is really thoughtless of you. And at the time it's sort
- 15:15of let go. But a little bit later, Brooke brings up how ashamed
- 15:20he is that like, in the very first fight he has had with the
- 15:24like while being on the one piece crew, the only thing he accomplished was
- 15:28almost drowning and having to be saved by one of them, which didn't really
- 15:33occur to me. But yeah, that is pretty embarrassing, and he winds
- 15:37up making up for it. Don't get me wrong, but I didn't really
- 15:41think about this being like their first fight because they were all sort of on
- 15:46the same side on thriller Bark, so I think of it as that being
- 15:50their first fight. But this is the first first fight as a crew.
- 15:56I'm sorry, guys, my tug is just really going and after this chew
- 16:00as if it's like moving around and fighting back and it's very adorable. So
- 16:06anyway, this is when we get we get Oh my god, Zoro,
- 16:12I keep wanting to say, Sanji, we get Zoro chopping open Hatchie's cage
- 16:21and letting him out, and he is so excited. He says to Zoro,
- 16:27you're a really great guy, and a bit later says I'm really sorry
- 16:33for what I did to you, and Zoro's like, what do you mean?
- 16:37And he says something like, well, you know, I really got
- 16:41the better of you with my like eight sword technique. I think it's what
- 16:45he calls it. And Zoro gets so mad at the insinuation that he was
- 16:51like beaten, And I really liked that moment. I'm not saying that I
- 16:56want Hotchi to be a crew member. I am saying that I want Hotchie
- 17:03to be a crew member, though a little bit. I'm just saying,
- 17:11yes, arif m I see a pupper, Yes, indeed, I gave
- 17:15him one of those long lasting choes, and man, he really is a
- 17:19chewerd I'm not sure how long long means exactly. So these dudes who had
- 17:27beaten the ship out of Hotchie while he was like helpless are now standing there
- 17:34as he is coming toward them, being like, you guys fucked with me
- 17:37when I couldn't fight back at all. I am going to ruin your goddamn
- 17:41day, and each one of them gets a moment of saying like, how
- 17:47much fun it was to kick his ass before, and they're gonna do it
- 17:51again. And I really like that. The last guy who's got his sword,
- 17:56he looks like such a frigging uber nerd, Like they're they're all meant
- 18:03to be fishmen, and they're all they all look non human, but the
- 18:11guy at the end is the is like the humanist looking of them. And
- 18:17I think some of that has to do with the fact that he's got a
- 18:21skin tone that looks like real skin, like that's a Caucasian skin tone or
- 18:26Asian skin tone, but also the fact that his features are only slightly exaggerated.
- 18:34And I just kept thinking about, like I've met this guy or seen
- 18:37this guy online, like I don't know, there's a thing about him.
- 18:41I was like, this is uncomfortable. This feels like a real person.
- 18:45So they come at him and he punches all three of them into the air,
- 18:52and as they fly away, they say something like we'll let you go
- 18:59this time, which makes it a lot more understandable why he is embarrassed that
- 19:07he got caught by these guys. These dudes are such dorks. They're just
- 19:15dorky dorks. So he comes out of the water and reunites with I think
- 19:21her name is pronounced Kami. I think that's the way they're saying it in
- 19:25the show. I keep saying Cammy, like the tank top, the lacey,
- 19:29you know top that you wear underneath a shirt. But he's like in
- 19:34the midst of reuniting with her, and some dude flies out from the sky
- 19:41with one of those fucking flying fish and almost gets him in the back with
- 19:47a sword. Zoro once again steps in and saves him, and this is
- 19:52when he says, thanks and I'm sorry what I did to you. So
- 19:57we go then to the Sunny and our friends are using cannons on the flying
- 20:03fish. It's pretty satisfying. I really did enjoy getting to see like the
- 20:08weapons that we've got on the Sunny, And granted, one of the last
- 20:12ones we use is like so op that it can only be used very infrequently
- 20:19because it's paid with the same fuel as what Frankie uses, which is cola.
- 20:29And you know, guys, this had me thinking, do they have
- 20:33to buy cola or is this something that in this universe they can just make
- 20:37themselves like do they just have a soda stream on board, or do they
- 20:44have to find a Cola salesman and you know, buy several barrels of it
- 20:49off him when they get the chance. It's just the reason I'm even asking
- 20:55too, is because while I accept that Frankie runs off of Cola, I
- 21:03don't think we have ever seen anybody drink or talk about cola ever on the
- 21:10show. We've had lots of talk about different types of boozes and things,
- 21:15but not ever cola. And I'm just sort of like, is this meant
- 21:22to be like a real specialty item or is it simply that it's never come
- 21:27up? Because why would it, you know. So let's see, Gus
- 21:36is saying, kamey, oh, okay, I got you, yeah,
- 21:41I wow. Really did not remember it that way, gotcha. So then
- 21:48we go to Duval and he is offering all of the fish guys like a
- 21:53million berries if they, you know, kill all of the fucking straw hats.
- 21:59It's a bit prize. This guy is very serious, and one of
- 22:03the motivation of hearing that it's going to be worth a million berries causes some
- 22:11of them to get a little bit crazy. And there's one dude who starts
- 22:14to do what looks like a suicide mission. He's coming straight at the sunny,
- 22:18he isn't breaking, he isn't steering, and he intends to just slam
- 22:22straight into them without stopping and sink the entire ship. Which I understand that
- 22:29in a vacuum, but all I could think was that you are also going
- 22:34to be in the water and your fish is probably, I'm in a guess,
- 22:38not going to survive that, and you are going to be stuck drowning,
- 22:41just like everybody else. It does not feel like he is thinking ahead
- 22:45regardless. Sanji and Lufy go flying into the air and they each take care
- 22:52of him in their own way, Lufy by turning into a giant balloon,
- 22:59and the flying fish lands on the deck of the ship, and Lufy says,
- 23:06I know what we're having for dinner. And while I shouldn't have been
- 23:08surprised because we know what he is like with food, I was genuinely like,
- 23:14I thought he would just want to ride it. I thought that was
- 23:15going to be his number one priority. But no, no, food is
- 23:19always going to come first. I guess that it's not like alive anymore.
- 23:25It's still flopping when it first lands. So I interpreted it as just the
- 23:30thing that fish do when they are on the like on land, you know,
- 23:34in the if you catch a fish and you toss it into your boat
- 23:38for a minute, it flaps around for a little bit more. So I
- 23:41thought it was that, but I'm realizing probably it's dead. So this is
- 23:48when Brooke is like, all right, it's time for me to make it
- 23:52right. Everybody stand back, and I'm gonna do my thing. And he
- 23:56climbs up the mast and kicks off from it in this like huge, amazing
- 24:04jump that looks dope as hell, and rightfully, both Loofy and Chopper are
- 24:11like, oh my god, that is so cool. And then in mid
- 24:15air, in front of all of these flying fishmen, he pulls out a
- 24:21violin and begins to play a lullaby, which immediately makes the riders and the
- 24:27fish fall asleep. Unfortunately, it also makes Loofy and Chopper fall asleep.
- 24:34But I really really enjoy the concept of him using his music as a superpower,
- 24:41Like I don't know if this is going to be his thing entirely.
- 24:45I don't believe it will be, because you know, he's over here with
- 24:48fucking walking on water still, which I consider a superpower, although I think
- 24:53Oda probably would argue that it's simply the nature of how light he is and
- 24:57that's not that doesn't really count. But yeah, I am really into seeing
- 25:04more music based powers here. That's a fun one, and especially just like
- 25:11the idea to me of you guys know how much I enjoy like parties and
- 25:18the concept of like getting people hype, and I would if I were broke
- 25:22and I had the ability to like play something and get everybody in a room
- 25:27just dancing because it was the reaction that they had, I would definitely be
- 25:34out here doing that, and I would certainly use that against enemies because it's
- 25:38funny. That would just be a funny thing. So I'm hoping we get
- 25:41a little bit more from this like concept, you know. So Saraphim says,
- 25:52huh, I'm guessing they have to buy it whenever they hit up port.
- 25:55But I guess it's just pirates equals booze, so that's what gets focused
- 25:59on. Gus says, Frankie bought Kola back in the bar in Water seven.
- 26:03I don't think it's specialty, just doesn't get a lot of focus outside
- 26:07of Frankie okay, because yeah, he's like the only one. It felt
- 26:11almost like water seven was the only place you could get it. Initially to
- 26:15me, I mean not like that was in the universe, but it's simply
- 26:18never been mentioned ever. And then all of a sudden, he's not only
- 26:23ordering it, but that's literally what he runs on. So this like the
- 26:30fact that they all fall. That's a good moment, guys, I really
- 26:36so Brooke continuing to walk on water. He is running from them in such
- 26:42a way that they keep crashing into the water trying to catch him, and
- 26:47he is just avoiding them and dodging, and at one point he holds a
- 26:52finger up and I really thought he was giving them the bird, but it's
- 26:55just a pointer finger, So I think it's just supposed to be like,
- 26:57hey, there's still some up there if you want to do something lufy,
- 27:00because then he jumps into the air. He gets on the back of one
- 27:06of the fish and there's like flyer who's asleep, and he's like, hey,
- 27:11don't freak out, I just want to ride on it. And then
- 27:12he realizes that this fish is also asleep, and they go crashing into the
- 27:17roof of one of the homes below, and it just happens to be you,
- 27:23guys. I'm going to get into this main, main event now.
- 27:30So he sees this face, and I'm of course expecting that it's going to
- 27:40be a bad that we've seen before. Either that or it was going to
- 27:45be somebody that had been a friend that we had seen before, and then
- 27:52unintentionally something that the straw Hats did wound up screwing them over, and they
- 28:00soured on the whole bunch of them because of this like slight that they imagine
- 28:04was perpetrated on purpose but was in fact just a you know, side effect
- 28:11or accident of something. And instead we get this wonderful reveal because he's talking
- 28:21about how he's going to get the guy who ruined his life. Of course,
- 28:26I'm assuming he's talking about Lufy. Why would I not think he's talking
- 28:30about Lufy. Everything is always about Lufy, Like truly never crossed my mind
- 28:37for a second it was about anybody else except I think maybe Zoro flickered out
- 28:42for a minute, and that was pretty quickly put away. I was convinced
- 28:48it was Lufy. So this dude stalks out after like a series of other
- 28:56little battles between people, and he's says to Sanji, how you have ruined
- 29:03my life. This is the greatest day. The man I've dreamed of killing
- 29:08is right before my eyes. I may have suffered to get here, but
- 29:12it's all been worth it. And this was when I started to be kind
- 29:15of like, oh, well, you and Lufy were like alone in that
- 29:21little hut together, but now you're out here talking about how the man you
- 29:26want to kill is like within your grasp. I thought it was Lufy,
- 29:33and yet you're out here looking at the sunny, so maybe not. And
- 29:40then he spots Sanji and basically it's like you're the fucking one that's responsible.
- 29:48And everybody is trying to figure out what what it could be that Zoro did
- 29:57to piss somebody off, Like they are I think, or not Zoro Sanji.
- 30:03They are thinking, I think that's it's Nami who brings up the She
- 30:08says she pronounces it baratier in the show. I don't think that I had
- 30:14heard it talked about since I switched to the dub and baratier pronunciation. You
- 30:21guys may have told me that that was how it was pronounced, but I
- 30:23don't think that it's easy to come through with pronunciation on text all the time.
- 30:30So yeah, I really liked that like pronunciation a lot better. I
- 30:36think I was calling it the Barretty in my head, and I was sort
- 30:38of like, I don't really, I don't know. That doesn't seem to
- 30:41flow very well. But yeah, so they're all thinking that, like,
- 30:45maybe it's something that Sanji did even before he was a crewmate, you know,
- 30:48which I think it's smart to go back that long because people hold grudges
- 30:52for a long time. When Sanji expresses that he does not know who this
- 30:57guy is, he did make all sorts of like fuck people over when he
- 31:03was on the Barottier to piss them off enough that it would be difficult to
- 31:07narrow down any person in particular. And then he's like, and if it's
- 31:12somebody recently, I'm even more confused by that, I have no idea.
- 31:18Meanwhile, this dude is shooting harpoons that are dipped in poison from this insane
- 31:26weapon at the ship, and everybody's busy dodging while Lufy and Zoro off to
- 31:34the side on the island from which he is shooting, they sneak up on
- 31:40him from the side and Lufy kicks his helmet off, and we get this
- 31:44like long reaction pan as usual between everybody, and I love the shock on
- 31:53everybody's face, because, you guys, I was not ready in any sense
- 31:59at all. He says, when they found him, do you know what
- 32:06they'd say? You can't hide from us, black leg Sanji? And then
- 32:14do you know what I told him? He I've never even met the guy
- 32:19before. And the camera pulls out, and not only that, I ain't
- 32:25even a pirate, and it is a dude who looks exactly like weirdo drawing
- 32:37that somebody did for Sanji's wanted poster. You guys, this is so brilliant
- 32:50and so dumb. I swear to god, I just sat there. I
- 32:57didn't even laugh out loud. It was like that kind of funny where you're
- 33:01just like, I need a second. I need a second to precess what's
- 33:06happening here, because it took me a minute to really get what they were
- 33:12saying. And I can't get over how weird this dude looks like in the
- 33:20context of this world, and he's complaining about how they came after him.
- 33:25I wasn't even a pirate, And meanwhile, Sanji is getting fired up,
- 33:31and I mean that in the most literal sense, because you know how he
- 33:36can turn into fire. And I kind of thought that maybe Sanji was gonna
- 33:42be like, well, that's my bad. I didn't draw it, it's
- 33:45not my fault, and instead he is blaming this dude for whining, is
- 33:53really what it comes down to, and also also saying can you imagine how
- 34:02it felt for me for people to think that I looked like this, which
- 34:07is the most insulting, Like it's just so stupid, you guys, And
- 34:16he like kicks him in the face, and it's just like, who fucking
- 34:22gives a shit? Dude like does not want to hear it and isn't feeling
- 34:30personally guilty or sorry at all, which he shouldn't. I mean, this
- 34:35really has nothing to do with him when it comes down to it. But
- 34:38I probably still would have felt a little bit guilty where I in his shoes,
- 34:44because I just tend to do that. You know, That's something I'm
- 34:45working on anyway, you guys, this reveal was I just it's so incredibly
- 34:58goofy and it's such a fun like I really want to know if Oda did
- 35:04that thing with the poster with the intent of creating a character who looked like
- 35:10this, or if it was something that like a fan joked around about in
- 35:15some forum and he was like, you know what, that's a good idea.
- 35:21I feel like if I were somebody writing something that's popular, I don't
- 35:24know that I'd be able to resist being in places where folks were talking about
- 35:29it. You know. Like, I think about this a lot because I
- 35:32had written a novel once and I have since pulled it from Amazon because ouch,
- 35:37I did not do well. But it was the sort of thing that
- 35:42it's such a small work and what I do is so small that I don't
- 35:46want to read reviews. I don't want to look at it because it's just
- 35:50every single thing is going to hit so much harder because there's not so much
- 35:52written about it. But if I did something that was huge and there was
- 35:58thousands of people talking about it at a time across the globe, I feel
- 36:01like it would be a little bit easier for me to like swoop in and
- 36:05out of areas that they're talking and not feel quite so self conscious about my
- 36:09work. And I could definitely see stumbling across this concept as a joke and
- 36:16being like, oh, okay, so I know what I'm doing. Like,
- 36:22I really can't imagine how much fun it would be to sort of get
- 36:27inspiration from multiple storylines by doing that. I mean, this series is so
- 36:31loosey goosey, you don't need to worry about hitting certain plot beats too hard
- 36:37because the overarching story that is like connecting, is so drawn out it doesn't
- 36:45matter in between. You could fucking do literally anything. So I think I
- 36:49would really be kind of like making people's fan fit come to life a lot
- 36:54for just the fun of it. Florian says, such a said character,
- 37:00I truly feel for him. Sarah Fhim says, oh, he definitely intended
- 37:04this. Florian said people went crazy before this chapter drop. There were so
- 37:08many wild fan theories and nobody called this to happen. Oda is a master.
- 37:14Sarah Fim says, Odah doesn't have time to read fanboards. Dude's schedule
- 37:17is freaking insane. That's true. I guess what I would imagine would be
- 37:22like he's got people reading fanboards and getting back to him with like the cliff
- 37:27notes of whatever was talked about today. He's like, I have a crazy
- 37:30schedule, so I'm gonna milk that community for ideas to get ahead of it.
- 37:37But anyway, I just this joke is so good, you guys,
- 37:39and what I really like as well. So the next episode three eighty nine
- 37:47explosion Sonny's super secret weapon gaan cannon. I'm not sure I'm saying that right,
- 37:53But we start that next episode and this dude has been talking about how
- 37:59un fairly he's been persecuted, and then we get a lovely little like weirdly
- 38:07illustrated the whole way this is done. It's supposed to be a memory,
- 38:13so we've got the really basic background, and then him and his friends are
- 38:17drawn just as intricately as usual, but they have a white outline around them,
- 38:23as if they are paper dolls and they have been cut out and just
- 38:27put onto this scene. And then all of the people who are not him
- 38:31or his friends are just these like black it's not even like they're quite silhouettes,
- 38:39because they have clothing that is colored and they have hair that is colored,
- 38:44and when they speak, their mouths open and there are white teeth and
- 38:47pink tongues, like a lot of what is going on with these guys you
- 38:52can still see distinctly, but in terms of their features, there is just
- 39:00black space. It's such a weird way to do things. And I don't
- 39:06think we've seen you know, there's been a few different instances where somebody's telling
- 39:10a story about their past, or we're in a flashback and the animation style
- 39:14changes to signal that we're going into some other time, and I don't remember
- 39:21one that was like this, with the like paper doll effect here and the
- 39:25way that he talks. What happens is this little girl is like crossing the
- 39:30street and he is walking up it with his friends and his little This guy's
- 39:35little girl like hits him with her ice cream cone and gets it on his
- 39:38pants, and he says to the dad, how are you going to pay
- 39:45for that? And when he says how are you going to pay for that,
- 39:52there's this very creepy, sort of wide lens effect on his face,
- 39:55like they are just really exaggerating the sort of grotesque nature of the way he
- 40:04looks. And I was sort of thinking, like, what are we going
- 40:08to do here? Are we going to have it be that he wasn't such
- 40:12a bad guy, But then the way he reacts to this and gets in
- 40:15the dad's face at least he doesn't like hit the little girl or something,
- 40:19which I was concerned about, but he does steal this guy's wallet, and
- 40:24we see him walking away tossing the wallet in his hand and says, we
- 40:30just extorted money from people. It was a simple life, but a happy
- 40:34one. And I felt so much better right away because I kept thinking he
- 40:43was just some dude and that he hadn't had these henchmen or anything until And
- 40:50I still kind of enjoyed this like theory personally, but I what I want
- 40:59for this mythology to be about the guy's current situation is that all of the
- 41:07people that are following him now believe that he is genuinely worth one hundred million
- 41:15berries or whatever it is, and he has accumulated this like retinue of fighters
- 41:23who all believe that he is super capable, and he has never had to
- 41:29prove to them that he is super capable, because the bounty speaks for itself,
- 41:34and that's why he sends them fighting, and he stays in a locked
- 41:38room with the fucking phone. Like I was sort of imagining this whole thing
- 41:43where it turned out when they realized he wasn't actually black leg SANGI that they
- 41:49would be feeling like they'd been tricked and maybe even turn on him, you
- 41:54know, But sadly it doesn't go that way. I kind of enjoy that
- 41:59idea, just you know, somebody it's initially through no fault of his own
- 42:06that he gets mistaken, but he decides that he's going to like lean into
- 42:12it. That said, though, maybe he wouldn't have been as angry at
- 42:15Sanji because that would have made things into a bit of a Maybe he would
- 42:22enjoy that, and he wouldn't want Sangie to blow up his spot and tell
- 42:27everybody the truth. It seems like all he really wanted though, as a
- 42:31person, was to be able to do a little bit of light pickpocketing and
- 42:36chill on smoke weed and play Xbox with his friends. He had no interest
- 42:40in a massive criminal empire. He wasn't somebody who wanted to sail the high
- 42:45seas. He just wanted to be able to get stoned every now and then
- 42:52and eat hot pockets. And now the police have broken down his door and
- 42:59driven him of his house and impounded his car, and he has to live
- 43:04in this weird spot with these weird dudes. And this is not anything that
- 43:08he was interested in. So this dude is telling the story and I'm genuinely
- 43:16like, I don't know a guy. This seems like you kind of sucked
- 43:20and you might not be worth as much as Sanji, but I'm glad that
- 43:22they fucked your life up. But Sanji, for his part, is like
- 43:29really over listening to this guy whining. So he had kicked him once and
- 43:35then a fishman comes at him from up above, and Sanji leaps up to
- 43:39fucking kick the guy off of his fish and all of a sudden, the
- 43:44camera pulls over to Duval, who is smirking and saying you couldn't resist,
- 43:47could you, And all of a sudden here come two fishmen with like an
- 43:53iron net, and they have got Sani caught up in the net and they
- 44:00dive down into the water, intending to drag him all the way to the
- 44:04bottom and drown him, and of course Lufy wants to go and save him,
- 44:09and everybody has to be like, dude, you can't fucking swim,
- 44:14And Hatchie runs right past Lufy and says, you humans are way too slow
- 44:20underwater. There's no point in you jumping in, and he's about to go
- 44:24in, but Duval even says to Hatchie, you're not even fast enough.
- 44:29You're not going to be able to do anything. And this is when we
- 44:34get came me jumping in And it turns out that in the sea, the
- 44:39fastest swimmer of all is a mermaid, which I kind of like that.
- 44:45They have something very distinctive about their ability and it's not like magical exactly.
- 44:52I just that they are able to be really fast. It's like a basic
- 44:57thing. But it's not I didn't really expected. I just kind of thought,
- 45:00Oh, the thing about mermaids is that they're hot chicks who can swim,
- 45:05and that's all you really need. I mean, who would argue with
- 45:07that. But the fact that she gets to do something here, Oh my
- 45:12god, there's a fly just like flying into my face repeatedly and it's just
- 45:15so rude and it's like, come very close to going to my mouth,
- 45:21and I just you, guys, Oh, I don't like summer in Texas,
- 45:24man, everything about it. It is so steamy, the sun is
- 45:29like a laser, and there are bugs everywhere everywhere. It is so gross.
- 45:37Anyway, So yeah, this is when her starfish is like, there
- 45:43is one creature even faster than those guys, and that is mermaids. And
- 45:47we see her heading after him, and she is just like, Oh,
- 45:52I am going to get you. Don't worry about it, Sangie. I'll
- 45:54be there in a second. And I wanted to ask ask you guys,
- 46:01I know that these little appendages appendages? Is that the word I want?
- 46:08Appendices? No, that's another thing too. What do you call it when
- 46:15you have like a syllable that goes at the end of a word. She
- 46:19calls him Sangi Chen, I think. And at one point with Lola,
- 46:25when Nami's pretending to be a guy, she calls herself Nami zo. And
- 46:31I don't know if the zoe is just meant to like sort of masculinize her
- 46:36name or if that's like turns it into a different sort of you know what
- 46:42I'm saying. But I was wondering if you guys could give me like a
- 46:46quick primer on those I don't know what to call them. Phrases isn't right
- 46:52either, you know what I'm talking. It's almost like an honorific, but
- 46:57I'm not sure if it really is, because honorific is usually like a separate
- 47:01word that goes that's a title you know, and I don't feel like this
- 47:07is quite that, so I'll just keep going and I'll check the comments in
- 47:14a minute. So anyway, she does indeed rescue him, and she like,
- 47:21those guys stand no chance. I really enjoy her getting to leave them
- 47:25in her dust. Meanwhile, everybody is starting to head back to the sunny
- 47:32because they are going to bust out this crazy weapon. And as they are
- 47:37doing this, there's this almost helicopter sort of situation. It's like this huge
- 47:46ship hovering above the sunny with like the fish, the flying fish flying in
- 47:54a circle as if they are propellers. It's like, that's kind of what
- 47:59we're going for here, and they have a massive anchor that they're holding,
- 48:06and the intention is that we are going to drop the anchor directly on the
- 48:13ship, break it into a billion pieces, sink you, and kill all
- 48:15of you. And Frankie is just like, hold up. I asked something
- 48:23you may not have heard of called chicken voyage, you guys. Chicken voyage
- 48:31is when the main around the sunny, the lion's head spins rapidly and sends
- 48:44them backward very quickly and suddenly. And I was like, chicken voyage for
- 48:50a second. I was like, but that's the lion. What do you
- 48:52mean? And then I realized he meant like, oh, you're being a
- 48:54chicken. You're like backing away. I live for these little developments finding out
- 49:00what the Sunny can do. I understand people being like nostalgic for the Mary.
- 49:09It's their first ship. It's a whole thing. But the Sunny has
- 49:16bells and whistles, and we just get more and more of them, and
- 49:21I really really like it. It's just a really fun development. So they
- 49:27go backwards. One of these guys who had dropped the anchor on them is
- 49:31like, what the fuck? How did they even do that? And Frankie
- 49:37heels for usap to get inside the prow and it turns out that the stairs
- 49:44that lead up to it you can pull them out, and there's a bunch
- 49:47of levers and stuff inside it. And Sangi is like, wait, what's
- 49:53going on? And he's getting given instructions, and all of a sudden,
- 50:01the Sunny's mouth drops open and you see the barrel of a cannon inside its
- 50:07mouth, and Frankie is like, all right, we're doing the charging up
- 50:12with the cola. Here we go, and this barrel comes out and fucking
- 50:19Duval is like, wait, wait, wait, what is that? What
- 50:22is that? And inside the sunny we've got dials that are building and everything
- 50:29is really starting to like amp up, and Frankie tells us up to get
- 50:34as many of the flyers in the circle of the sight as he possibly can.
- 50:38And there's a lot of them. I mean, there's like fifteen.
- 50:43He says, lock on with the button below you then pull the lever and
- 50:50it turns red. He pulls the lever, there's this slow build of like
- 50:54a white glow in the barrel of the gun, and then it shoot what
- 51:00looks like a huge laser, and as he pulls, Frankie also does something
- 51:10and it shoots. Did you see that? That bitch went right into my
- 51:16mouth? I hope it's dead. I hope it's dead forever. Oh my
- 51:23god, you guys, that was so gross. It hit my mouth.
- 51:30I don't know if I actually swallowed it or what. Oh my god,
- 51:34gross, gross, gross. It fires. Everything turns black and white for
- 51:42a second, which is super fun in the context of reading Creato right now,
- 51:45just if you know, you know, and the fucking place gets like
- 51:52demolished. There are all of the dudes who are on the Flying Fish,
- 51:57all of them go down. A bunch of the build things are destroyed,
- 52:00Like shit is It's really something And I couldn't be mad at all. When
- 52:08the camera pans over to Lufy, who is glowing with tears pouring down his
- 52:15face and stars in his eyes because he is so fucking impressed and in love
- 52:22with what the sunny just did that. I loved it so much, it
- 52:25made me so happy. Meanwhile, Duval is like, oh, oh wait,
- 52:31this isn't really what I wanted to do, and I just kind of
- 52:37felt bad for him, even though it didn't have to be this way.
- 52:39Dude, you did not have to pursue this. The way that you have
- 52:43this is on you. The guy had a hundred million berry bounty. I
- 52:45don't feel like that's a fight you want to start. I understand why you're
- 52:49taking it personally, but you like it's like the guy who goes to Morgan
- 52:55Freeman in What is It The Dark Knight Rises, I think, and he
- 53:04tries to tell him, I know who your boss is and what he does,
- 53:07and unless you pay me two hundred thousand dollars a month, I'm going
- 53:09to tell everybody, and mor Good Freeman is like, let me get this
- 53:14straight. You think that my boss is a masked vigilante who has access to
- 53:22unbelievable technology, and your plan was to blackmail this person good luck, and
- 53:34that's really the vibe. You're going after him with one hundred million dollars bounty.
- 53:38You best not, miss friend. You weren't ready for this fight.
- 53:44You're fighting a pirate on his turf, by the way, in the ocean,
- 53:47which is not your turf. Is expressly you have said you were not
- 53:52a pirate, and you just flubbed it. You flubbed it, you did
- 54:00so anyway, I'm just going to the chat here. Let's see. Florence's
- 54:08chan expresses the speaker finds a person endearing. Kami overuses it, which shows
- 54:15that she is an overtrusting person. Oh okay, Saraphim says, honorific is
- 54:22the right term, and chan denotes either talking to someone very young or the
- 54:25speaker feels very close to generally a girl as Koon is that for males.
- 54:35But she used chen, which is at least in the sub it said c
- 54:39H E N. Is that the same thing? Or is that because she
- 54:47was talking to Sanju, and she said Sanji chin Gus says, this one
- 54:53is specifically h I N C H A N. No, it was e
- 54:58N. But I don't know if that it's like you know, I don't.
- 55:01It may be that the sub just spelled it wrong. That's certainly possible.
- 55:07A lot of One Piece characters tend to have a variety of verbal quirks
- 55:10that aren't part of standard Japanese, like all of the weird laughs. I'm
- 55:14not sure what it's called specifically. Some characters and other anime do it too,
- 55:17but I think One Piece has the most characters that do it that I've
- 55:21seen. So maybe Chen is just her verbal tick and it's not like a
- 55:29thing. Saraphim says Gao can in the name from Gao the Japanese on amanapia
- 55:36for a lion's roar. Oh okay, gotcha, that's fun. So anyway,
- 55:43y'all, this weapon is dope as hell. And I want to mention
- 55:46too that at the same time the Sunny fires it, he has to create
- 55:52an equal and opposite explosion from the other end of it to keep the Sunny
- 55:58from just flying backward from the force of its own shot. Basically to cope
- 56:02with recoil, and I just that is such a wild thing to imagine that,
- 56:08Like you could be behind the sunny when it's firing at somebody else and
- 56:13still really have a bad, bad day. It might not matter that you're
- 56:16not the target. Like, just get out of the fucking way. I'm
- 56:21sorry, guys, you see him. He doesn't usually like wine and bother
- 56:24me while I'm recording. But I don't know what's up with him right now.
- 56:28I think maybe Owen got home with Pippin and he hears him out there.
- 56:32I don't know. Normally, he's very content to just sit on his
- 56:37little blanket over there, his bed. So okay, I gotta I gotta
- 56:45jump over to the part where Sanji has been rescued and he he's being held
- 56:53and Kimy's like I thought he was just like on the verge of drowning.
- 57:02But he's bleeding a lot, and I'm not sure what to do, and
- 57:08everybody's like, oh my god, he's bleeding what And it turns out it's
- 57:13a nosebleed because she's holding him like right up against her boobs, like just
- 57:22cradling his head, you know, and he is he has the heart eyes
- 57:27and just blood pouring out of his nose. I just really want to register
- 57:32my ongoing disbelief that a nosebleed is shorthand for being turned on Will. I
- 57:40don't think I'm ever going to quite get over that guy's that is just such
- 57:44a weird. It's just weird, right, Like that's not just me.
- 57:47So okay, this is the moment where we have this like huge animal that
- 57:54you've all has been riding on that's like a cow, and he's talking big
- 57:59game about how it's going to fuck them up, but Lufy just winds up
- 58:01basically going up to it and being like do you really want to do this
- 58:05or not? And it's almost like he hypnotizes it and it just goes down
- 58:08and it doesn't it's not like it's almost like it fainted. It's a real
- 58:15weird moment, and nobody else really seems to understand how he accomplished this either.
- 58:20But suffice to say, Duval is super mad because this was sort of,
- 58:23as he saw it, his ace in the hole, and Lufy just
- 58:28handles it and there's nothing to it. So then we get the wonderful conclusion
- 58:35to this whole mess, which is Sanji kicking the ever loving shit out of
- 58:42Duval's face, and eventually Duval's people come and are just like, pay your
- 58:49face, and he's like, what my face? And we jump ahead in
- 58:53time to everybody eating a ton of octopus fritters and he comes up on one
- 59:04of these little like wave rider things. I think he's on or is he
- 59:07on? I think he's on a flying fish actually, but it's just like
- 59:09sort of above water. We haven't seen them really ride like that that much.
- 59:14So, but he is super handsome and is very delighted with the changes
- 59:22that Sanji has rendered to his face, which he rendered with his kicking.
- 59:29He Sanji basically performed plastic surgery on this man with his feet, And I
- 59:37just really want to step back and acknowledge what a beautiful wrap up this is
- 59:44to this storyline, because like, it had to go this way for this
- 59:46guy to get out from under the wanted poster, right, there was no
- 59:52way that he could live his life because those posters have been handed out and
- 59:59are everywhereness. So the only option is for his face to change. Like
- 1:00:05even if they got a new photo of Sanji, it wouldn't change how many
- 1:00:08people had seen the original poster, and this guy is so happy and really
- 1:00:15like kind of a little bit too confident because of his looks now and keeps
- 1:00:21trying to flirt with Nami, and at one point is like gazing at himself
- 1:00:27in the mirror and not even listening to anything anybody is saying to him,
- 1:00:30and there are roses like animated floating around his head. It is really,
- 1:00:36it's amazing. It's such a stupid way for this to finish. I loved
- 1:00:39it so much. It's wonderful. I love when he's like looking at Nami
- 1:00:45and she's just patting her mouth with a napkin, and he thinks that she's
- 1:00:50blowing her a kiss or blowing him a kiss. That's a bit forward,
- 1:00:53but I accept and she's just like, oh my god, that's not what
- 1:00:57was happening. So I'm almost at a time I'm just gonna like move forward
- 1:01:04a little bit here, and we get some information from the Starfish about how
- 1:01:10they can reach the quote New World, and he's like, one of them
- 1:01:16is you leave your ship and you get a new one after you pass over
- 1:01:22the red line. But you guys are definitely not going to want to do
- 1:01:27that. It requires permission. It requires time, and of course, you
- 1:01:31know, even if you weren't who you are, then they don't like pirates,
- 1:01:37so it's going to be a problem for you. So what you are
- 1:01:40going to do is go through Fishman Island. But they, yeah, they
- 1:01:45have to go through Fishman Island, they have to go from underneath. I'm
- 1:01:47sorry for those listening. I had to pause because Sam is kind of being
- 1:01:52a butthead and making a lot of noise and knocking into my desk. So
- 1:01:55I'm trying to keep him appeased by petting him while I record that It's not
- 1:02:00as easy as it sounds. I should just get like a bed that's like
- 1:02:04level with my desk so that he can just be appear in my face while
- 1:02:07I record. I think that's the only way he'd be satisfied. These dogs
- 1:02:12just want to be by your side, like twenty four hours a day.
- 1:02:15It is very adorable but also tiresome. He's looking at me, see I
- 1:02:21stopped petting for an instant, and he's just like what the fuck? And
- 1:02:23she Sherry, I am your faithful servant and pet machine. So anyway,
- 1:02:32when they're like, well, we don't know how we're going to bring our
- 1:02:35ship down there. Camey is like, Oh, don't worry. Our next
- 1:02:39stop, we'll get the ship coated and Frankie's like, coated with what?
- 1:02:45And she says, oh, you'll see when we get there. And we
- 1:02:51get a look at this wild looking island. It's really really cool that has
- 1:02:57all of these bubbles. And what we find out eventually is that the trees
- 1:03:05there's like a sap in the ground and the air bubbles come up and get
- 1:03:09trapped in the sap and create these bubbles that only last temporarily. They're not
- 1:03:14forever, but they float in the air. And it's like, I'm assuming
- 1:03:19what the ship's gonna get coated in. I'm hoping that we're going to be
- 1:03:22in a giant bubble, which would be pretty wild, but yeah, it's
- 1:03:28a really neat looking thing. At one point, Lufy climbs onto one of
- 1:03:31the bubbles and like rides it into the air and then is genuinely like,
- 1:03:36wait what as it begins to dawn on him that the bubbles all around him
- 1:03:43are popping and he is very very high up. He falls quite away,
- 1:03:47and he's fine, but he does fall from a considerable height. I just
- 1:03:53think the bubbles are so cool. I'm a sucker for like bubbles as a
- 1:03:58motif in things like as a pattern or just I think it's because of the
- 1:04:03combo of the very pleasing symmetrical quality of the circles themselves. But then they
- 1:04:11always have that iridescent color scheme that's really pretty, and I just really like
- 1:04:15all those colors together. Yellow, purple, green usually are like the main
- 1:04:19colors are sometimes like a pink in there. So yeah, this place is
- 1:04:27like really really cool looking. And the mangrove trees, they're the largest in
- 1:04:33the world, and like Lufy calls the Manly mangroves, there's a total of
- 1:04:42seventy nine trees, and each one serves as its own little island, complete
- 1:04:45with tiny towns and facilities. The cluster is called the Sebodi Archipelago. I
- 1:04:51always want to say our trip pulago. I really do you guys. That's
- 1:04:58like just since I was a kid, I thought it was pronounced archipelago because
- 1:05:05I read it only I never heard it said, And once I found out
- 1:05:09that it was archipelago, my whole brain just exploded. It's just one of
- 1:05:14those words. And yeah, the trees are designated by numbers, so it's
- 1:05:20very easy to find your way around, and I love this when she's like,
- 1:05:26it's not going to be or hatchi, hatchie. He says that it
- 1:05:30will be pretty difficult to lose your way around here. But everybody looks over
- 1:05:34at Zora and it's like, um, I bet I know somebody who could
- 1:05:39lose their way around here. And there's some really neat potential with the way
- 1:05:45that the mangrove roots raise into the air and the dark, like there's like
- 1:05:51caves underneath them basically, you know. And I'm really curious what we're to
- 1:06:00find going on underneath the mangrove trees because there is so much we could There
- 1:06:05could be a whole other world down there, you know, as compared to
- 1:06:10everywhere else. This also really reminds me of something in the Major Arrant series,
- 1:06:15which is written by somebody who is friends with Will White, who is
- 1:06:17the writer of Cradle, So real big family over here and Cradle, you
- 1:06:24know, Will is obsessed with one Piece, and I have a feeling based
- 1:06:28on this, like the way this town is turning out, that maybe that
- 1:06:32writer is also a one Piece fan, because this feels like it could have
- 1:06:36been a distinct inspiration for something anyway. So yeah, this whole thing with
- 1:06:42the bubbles, I'm really excited to see how this all works out. And
- 1:06:45the way that the episode ends it's so strange. Well that's right, I
- 1:06:54forgot that Hotchie actually like tells us because I got totally preoccupied with what he
- 1:07:00demands of them. At the end of the episode, Nami says, what
- 1:07:04why are we here? You said something about getting the ship coded, and
- 1:07:09he says, we meet up with one of the island's coating specialists and have
- 1:07:12him slap a coat of this resin on your ship. That's all it takes.
- 1:07:15After that, your ship will be fully equipped for underwater travel. And
- 1:07:19Frankie is just like, wait, really is that okay? I really enjoy
- 1:07:27Frankie maybe getting excited potentially about how this new technology might be able to work
- 1:07:32for other things. I bet he's gonna want like a barrel of this SEP.
- 1:07:38So yeah, Hatchi is like, yeah, there's one guy I know
- 1:07:41in particular, so you'll be in really good hands with him. And we
- 1:07:44appreciate all of your help, and they're like yeah, yeah, and we
- 1:07:49also appreciate yours. And he says the one thing that I want to ask
- 1:07:56for you, is that when you meet the world nobles, they're from the
- 1:08:00Holy Land, and I'm not going to try and pronounce that name, he
- 1:08:04says. I know this is kind of fucked up, but no matter what
- 1:08:10happens in that town, you have to promise that you aren't going to fuck
- 1:08:14with them. I want you to promise. Don't matter what they do,
- 1:08:19even if they kill somebody right in front of you, you pretend like you
- 1:08:25didn't see anything happen, just move on and act like it was nothing.
- 1:08:31And the episode ends there, which I found kind of like a wild way
- 1:08:41to wrap things up, Like it's just so foreboding. But that's that's where
- 1:08:47we end. And I don't know what to think of this, Like I
- 1:08:50can't tell if he is reverent or afraid of them or you know, like
- 1:08:58I don't know what he's thinking here is so I'm way over time. I
- 1:09:02really have to go, But I appreciate you guys so much, thank you
- 1:09:05for hanging out, and I really I'm really looking forward to what we've got
- 1:09:15going on in this arc. We started out strong, even though like that
- 1:09:18wasn't part of the arc. I don't care, all right, guys,
- 1:09:23until next time to loom motherfucker's That was an unspoiled network podcast who as soon
