- 0:32SPEAKER_14: Hello, everybody.
- 0:33SPEAKER_14: Hello.
- 0:33SPEAKER_14: Hello.
- 0:34SPEAKER_14: Episode uh 249.
- 0:36SPEAKER_02: 249.
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: Well, that's it.
- 0:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, have a good night, everybody.
- 0:42SPEAKER_02: How later.
- 0:45SPEAKER_13: Good thing we don't pay for this.
- 0:46SPEAKER_13: I was shocked.
- 0:49SPEAKER_13: Where do we start?
- 0:50SPEAKER_13: Um, I think we should start.
- 0:52SPEAKER_14: Um well, we're recording this on a Monday.
- 0:57SPEAKER_14: And here's the reason we're recording this on a Monday because we usually record on a Tuesday.
- 1:03SPEAKER_14: Correct.
- 1:04SPEAKER_14: But I'm taking my 17-year-old to his very first rock concert.
- 1:10SPEAKER_14: He's never been to a formal formal concert before.
- 1:14SPEAKER_14: Uh not for any other reason than timing, scheduling, and we're poor.
- 1:20SPEAKER_14: Um concerts are expensive.
- 1:22SPEAKER_14: They are these days.
- 1:23SPEAKER_14: Because you you know a lot of the times you gotta you gotta get a hotel room.
- 1:27SPEAKER_04: You don't have to, but I mean it's well, you gotta buy tickets, you gotta get a and because we live so far away from them.
- 1:32SPEAKER_14: Right, exactly.
- 1:33SPEAKER_04: You gotta get a hotel room, you gotta buy gas, you gotta get stuff at the you know, there's food and yeah, so it has to be a really you know you're you're looking at five, six hundred bucks a pop.
- 1:45SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I mean it's possible for sure.
- 1:47SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 1:48SPEAKER_14: So so um he was big into Def Leopard when he was a smaller.
- 1:54SPEAKER_14: He's huge now.
- 1:55SPEAKER_14: Yeah, as well as I.
- 1:57SPEAKER_14: Um, and so when I found out that Def Leopard was playing in Bangor again, I thought, oh, we're gonna we're gonna go to that.
- 2:04SPEAKER_14: And so he's pretty pumped.
- 2:05SPEAKER_14: I'm pretty pumped.
- 2:06SPEAKER_14: I've already seen them, so I'm not as pumped.
- 2:09SPEAKER_14: Um, but I'm I'm more excited to get his reaction.
- 2:13SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 2:13SPEAKER_14: You know.
- 2:14SPEAKER_14: Um, so I think it'll be pretty cool.
- 2:17SPEAKER_14: Well, he'll he'll enjoy it.
- 2:18SPEAKER_14: I'm not sure who there's who's it doesn't say that anybody's opening, but that doesn't mean that there isn't anybody opening.
- 2:24SPEAKER_14: There's just they don't really need anybody, don't they?
- 2:26SPEAKER_14: They don't.
- 2:26SPEAKER_04: They don't last remember when Metallica went out and just by themselves just had like that.
- 2:31SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 2:32SPEAKER_04: You know, that little m you know, behind the scenes movie thing or whatever they'd play.
- 2:36SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 2:36SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 2:37SPEAKER_14: Well, I had uh last time I saw them, Tesla opened for them.
- 2:41SPEAKER_14: Oh, I've been a good show.
- 2:42SPEAKER_14: And I have been I mean following them online, and Tesla is opening a few shows, so I don't know if Well, maybe we'll eat Tesla.
- 2:49SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I don't know if they're opening tomorrow night or not, or maybe it's just gonna be Dev Leopard.
- 2:53SPEAKER_14: That's and that's cool too.
- 2:55SPEAKER_14: Um so I don't know what time we're gonna leave there, but we gotta go to Bull Moose and we gotta go eat.
- 2:59SPEAKER_14: Well, of course you do.
- 3:00SPEAKER_14: Of course you do.
- 3:01SPEAKER_14: So why would you go to Bangor for any other reason?
- 3:04SPEAKER_14: I mean, come on, geez.
- 3:06SPEAKER_14: And so yeah, um that's why we're here on a Monday.
- 3:10SPEAKER_14: Not that you care, not that it makes any difference to you, but it's 10 15 of you.
- 3:17SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 3:18SPEAKER_14: Um so last week we did something different and kind of cool.
- 3:24SPEAKER_14: I mean it was it was really fun.
- 3:26SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 3:27SPEAKER_14: Um Charlie, a friend of ours named Charlie runs a name that tune game.
- 3:34SPEAKER_14: And he was gonna do it uh at the rec center.
- 3:37SPEAKER_14: Um he was all lined up to do it at the rec center, but nobody showed up.
- 3:41SPEAKER_14: So he approached uh the hotel downtown, the uh lounge where we've played before.
- 3:46SPEAKER_14: Yeah, and uh they said, Yeah, it's a great idea.
- 3:49SPEAKER_14: And I mean he they were he was worried that nobody was gonna show up.
- 3:53SPEAKER_14: People showed up.
- 3:54SPEAKER_14: That was a good crowd.
- 3:55SPEAKER_14: Yeah, it was a great crowd.
- 3:56SPEAKER_04: Well, I'll tell you why.
- 3:58SPEAKER_04: Is because there was alcohol involved.
- 4:00SPEAKER_14: Absolutely.
- 4:01SPEAKER_14: Yeah, no question.
- 4:01SPEAKER_04: That's what that's why nobody came to the Rec Son.
- 4:03SPEAKER_04: Yep, there's no alcohol.
- 4:04SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 4:05SPEAKER_14: You're you're right, you're right.
- 4:07SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 4:07SPEAKER_04: Um you liquor people up, they're gonna want to answer questions.
- 4:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 4:11SPEAKER_04: You know, so come on.
- 4:12SPEAKER_14: Is that how it works?
- 4:13SPEAKER_04: Well, when you get pulled over for drunk driving, I mean they ask you all kinds of questions.
- 4:17SPEAKER_04: We weren't liquored up.
- 4:18SPEAKER_04: Well, that's what I'm saying.
- 4:19SPEAKER_04: It's the same idea.
- 4:21SPEAKER_04: You know, loose lips, think chips kind of thing.
- 4:23SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 4:23SPEAKER_14: So so um we went and we had a a team, uh team we we named Bring It On.
- 4:31SPEAKER_04: Oh, we didn't bring it.
- 4:32SPEAKER_04: We brought it.
- 4:33SPEAKER_14: We we brung it.
- 4:34SPEAKER_14: We brought we brung it.
- 4:36SPEAKER_14: And um I think there's how many of us?
- 4:38SPEAKER_14: One, two, three, four, five, there's six of us?
- 4:42SPEAKER_14: Uh I think so.
- 4:44SPEAKER_14: Yeah, six.
- 4:44SPEAKER_14: Six of us, yeah.
- 4:45SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 4:46SPEAKER_14: Um and to to uh I'm ashamed of this, sort of, but it worked.
- 4:52SPEAKER_14: Um I took over and and um made and made and answered all the questions.
- 4:58SPEAKER_04: And everybody was fine with it.
- 4:59SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I know, I know they were, but I just feel bad.
- 5:02SPEAKER_14: I know I feel bad about it.
- 5:04SPEAKER_14: But we were the top of the leaderboard.
- 5:06SPEAKER_14: Uh essentially, if if we had we played four rounds and if and you get a point for for the artist naming the artist and naming the song.
- 5:15SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 5:16SPEAKER_14: And um we uh scored the highest and if they ended name that tune after the fourth round, we would have won.
- 5:27SPEAKER_14: Yes.
- 5:28SPEAKER_14: We would have walked away with gift certificates galore.
- 5:31SPEAKER_14: That would have been the prize.
- 5:33SPEAKER_14: But they had a uh, if you will, a final jeopardy question where you could wager all your points, and we didn't wager all our points, but the bulk of them.
- 5:43SPEAKER_04: We might as well have.
- 5:44SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 5:44SPEAKER_04: We might as well just went for broke.
- 5:46SPEAKER_14: It was, you know, nobody was really that invested in it.
- 5:50SPEAKER_14: I mean, it was it was g just good fun.
- 5:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah, well I mean, we were just there hanging out, yeah, talking and having fun, listening to music, yeah, you know, so we lost.
- 6:02SPEAKER_14: Um because the question Quite spectacularly.
- 6:04SPEAKER_14: The the question was it was Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which you know, of course, we love the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
- 6:09SPEAKER_14: Yeah, no.
- 6:10SPEAKER_14: Um it was this band was inducted in 1994, even though they only had one uh US hit.
- 6:19SPEAKER_14: Was it top ten hit?
- 6:20SPEAKER_14: Top ten hit US top ten hit.
- 6:22SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 6:22SPEAKER_14: Yeah, and uh I couldn't think for the life of me who it was.
- 6:26SPEAKER_14: No.
- 6:28SPEAKER_04: We just took a swag and yeah, and we were wrong.
- 6:31SPEAKER_14: But it was Grateful Dead.
- 6:32SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 6:33SPEAKER_14: Touch of gray.
- 6:34SPEAKER_04: Well no for the future.
- 6:35SPEAKER_04: Yes, we will.
- 6:36SPEAKER_14: Yep.
- 6:37SPEAKER_14: So um so I hope they do it again because I had a lot of fun and and I I will go.
- 6:42SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah.
- 6:43SPEAKER_14: Yeah, yep.
- 6:44SPEAKER_14: Anyway, blast that was Thursday night.
- 6:48SPEAKER_14: What did we do Friday?
- 6:50SPEAKER_14: We played.
- 6:50SPEAKER_14: We did?
- 6:51SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 6:51SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah, that's Mapleton Days.
- 6:53SPEAKER_14: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 6:54SPEAKER_14: Sorry.
- 6:56SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 6:56SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 6:57SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 6:58SPEAKER_14: Your name is Brian.
- 7:00SPEAKER_14: Star City Syndicate had our first big show of the season.
- 7:04SPEAKER_14: Um Mapleton Days.
- 7:08SPEAKER_14: We had the county folk, um uh kind of a um Americana band.
- 7:13SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 7:13SPEAKER_14: Um playing before us, and also a a teenage rock band called Train Wreck that were playing before.
- 7:21SPEAKER_14: They sounded great.
- 7:22SPEAKER_14: I thought they did.
- 7:22SPEAKER_14: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:23SPEAKER_14: And then we played and uh people enjoyed food and it was just great.
- 7:27SPEAKER_14: We had a we had a good time.
- 7:29SPEAKER_14: I don't nothing major happened, right?
- 7:31SPEAKER_14: We didn't have any blunders or anything.
- 7:32SPEAKER_14: No?
- 7:33SPEAKER_14: No?
- 7:33SPEAKER_14: They had fireworks, stupid fireworks, fireworks in the middle of the set.
- 7:36SPEAKER_14: I'm not sure what kind of sense that makes.
- 7:39SPEAKER_04: But uh well, they had the main fireworks, and then some jackass had fireworks across the road.
- 7:43SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 7:44SPEAKER_04: I was like, what is this really necessary?
- 7:46SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 7:46SPEAKER_14: Well, whatever.
- 7:47SPEAKER_14: Um, but I would say a successful successful successful gig.
- 7:52SPEAKER_04: I agree with the first part of that.
- 7:55SPEAKER_14: And then um Saturday was my 28th wedding anniversary.
- 8:00SPEAKER_14: Yay! And we really didn't do anything.
- 8:06SPEAKER_14: Uh we went out to eat.
- 8:07SPEAKER_14: Where'd you go?
- 8:08SPEAKER_14: We went out to Ruby Tuesdays.
- 8:09SPEAKER_04: I was about to say.
- 8:10SPEAKER_04: And uh we should have won the gift certificate and then you could have gone someplace else.
- 8:14SPEAKER_14: She uh she got loaded.
- 8:15SPEAKER_14: She did.
- 8:15SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah.
- 8:16SPEAKER_14: She's yeah, just like she was just beyond.
- 8:19SPEAKER_14: I'm just kidding, of course.
- 8:22SPEAKER_14: She did get a I would like to see that.
- 8:24SPEAKER_14: She did get a Ruby relaxer.
- 8:27SPEAKER_14: But it was 80% ice.
- 8:29SPEAKER_04: So usually you're just paying it for ice, basically.
- 8:33SPEAKER_14: Right, but but it was it was so cute because we we finished and we got in the van and she's just kind of giggles.
- 8:39SPEAKER_14: You know, she's kind of she's not drunk, obviously, but uh but then she's like I want some chocolate.
- 8:47SPEAKER_14: I was like, okay.
- 8:49SPEAKER_14: No.
- 8:50SPEAKER_14: No.
- 8:51SPEAKER_14: Let's go get some chocolate.
- 8:52SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 8:53SPEAKER_14: So we went to Bradley's and I got her some chocolate.
- 8:56SPEAKER_14: Alright.
- 8:56SPEAKER_14: She's just, you know, she when she when she drinks a little bit, she's get a little gets a little demanding.
- 9:01SPEAKER_14: But she got chocolate.
- 9:04SPEAKER_14: So I'll take care of it.
- 9:05SPEAKER_14: And then we went back and we watched a movie.
- 9:07SPEAKER_14: And I if you haven't watched this, I want you to avoid it like the plague.
- 9:13SPEAKER_14: Alright.
- 9:13SPEAKER_14: Eighty for Brady.
- 9:15SPEAKER_14: Never even heard of it.
- 9:16SPEAKER_14: Never even heard of it.
- 9:17SPEAKER_04: Oh wait, no, I have.
- 9:17SPEAKER_14: Yeah, it's got like uh Jean Fonda.
- 9:20SPEAKER_14: It does.
- 9:20SPEAKER_14: The th the four old ladies, supposedly based on a true story, um, that are that you go to the Super Bowl.
- 9:27SPEAKER_14: It is the dumbest movie I've seen in a long time.
- 9:32SPEAKER_04: I know everybody was hyping it up, and then it just as soon as it came out, it just disappeared.
- 9:36SPEAKER_14: Oh, well, they because they saw it, probably.
- 9:38SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 9:39SPEAKER_14: That makes sense, then.
- 9:40SPEAKER_14: It's the script is awful.
- 9:41SPEAKER_14: The acting, even though I mean Sally Field is a great actress.
- 9:45SPEAKER_14: Was didn't she pass away?
- 9:47SPEAKER_14: Nope.
- 9:47unknown: No.
- 9:48SPEAKER_04: I thought she passed away.
- 9:48SPEAKER_14: Sally Field?
- 9:49SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 9:50SPEAKER_14: I don't know.
- 9:50SPEAKER_14: I don't think so.
- 9:51SPEAKER_14: I think she did.
- 9:52SPEAKER_14: Oh, you think she did?
- 9:52SPEAKER_14: I don't think so.
- 9:53SPEAKER_14: Let me double check here.
- 9:55SPEAKER_14: Because no, I don't think so.
- 9:58SPEAKER_04: I could be wrong, but I thought she did.
- 10:00SPEAKER_14: Um I could be thinking.
- 10:02SPEAKER_14: That would be big if she if she had passed away.
- 10:06SPEAKER_14: No, she's no, she's 76.
- 10:08SPEAKER_14: Oh, I'm sorry, 78.
- 10:10SPEAKER_14: She's 78.
- 10:11SPEAKER_14: Um did Lily Tomlin pass away?
- 10:13SPEAKER_04: Somebody in that group passed away.
- 10:16SPEAKER_04: Like right right after the movie or something like that.
- 10:18SPEAKER_04: Rita Tomlin.
- 10:19SPEAKER_04: Let's see.
- 10:20SPEAKER_14: Was it Lily Tomlin that passed?
- 10:22SPEAKER_14: Um no, Lily Tomlin is 85.
- 10:26SPEAKER_14: Wow.
- 10:27SPEAKER_14: Let's see.
- 10:30SPEAKER_14: Uh was it Rita Moreno?
- 10:33SPEAKER_14: Was it Rita Moreno that passed away, I wonder?
- 10:35SPEAKER_14: Because she was uh one of them.
- 10:37SPEAKER_14: I'm just closing out all these things here because I have too many things open.
- 10:48SPEAKER_14: Let's see.
- 10:50SPEAKER_14: No, Rita Moreno is 93.
- 10:52SPEAKER_14: Wow.
- 10:52SPEAKER_14: And I know Jane of Jane Fonda's not dead.
- 10:54unknown: Yeah.
- 10:55SPEAKER_04: I'm not gonna get into that.
- 10:56SPEAKER_14: I know.
- 10:57SPEAKER_14: Um but anyway, you would think with those heavy hitters, the acting would be really good, but it was not.
- 11:06SPEAKER_04: Wasn't Tom Brady himself in that?
- 11:07SPEAKER_14: He was, yeah.
- 11:08SPEAKER_14: And the script was awful, and just it just got so goofy.
- 11:13SPEAKER_14: When they finally got to the Super Bowl, and you re kind of relived the uh Falcons Patriots in what was that?
- 11:23SPEAKER_14: Where where the Patriots came back when they came back.
- 11:26SPEAKER_04: The 328 game.
- 11:27SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 11:27SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 11:28SPEAKER_14: Um you relive that, and there's actual footage of that, and and that was the best part of the movie.
- 11:34SPEAKER_04: So it's kind of like uh feaser fever pitch.
- 11:37SPEAKER_14: I don't I've never seen that.
- 11:38SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's good.
- 11:39SPEAKER_04: That's actually a good movie.
- 11:40SPEAKER_04: What what is that?
- 11:41SPEAKER_04: Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore.
- 11:43SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 11:43SPEAKER_04: He's he's like a major Red Sox fan.
- 11:46SPEAKER_04: And they anyway, and they anyway, they end up going it's it was the year that they won the first when they broke the curse.
- 11:54SPEAKER_14: Yep.
- 11:54SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 11:55SPEAKER_04: That that was that year, so you know, though they were they're actually filming at a game.
- 11:58SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 11:59SPEAKER_04: That kind of thing.
- 11:59SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 12:00SPEAKER_04: So it was yeah, it was a it was a good movie.
- 12:01SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I'll have to watch that.
- 12:02SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 12:03SPEAKER_14: This one uh I would avoid like the plague if you can.
- 12:05SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 12:05SPEAKER_04: It was I mean, once I I saw the title, and I was like, oh, you know, I probably would.
- 12:09SPEAKER_04: And I never got around to seeing it.
- 12:11SPEAKER_14: No, we want we wanted to see it because we you know we were Patriots fans at the time, and and it looked cute, it looked funny, you know, and and it's was awful.
- 12:20SPEAKER_14: I can I keep telling my wife and I kept looking at each other, we're like, this is really bad.
- 12:24SPEAKER_14: Oh, yeah, I know, it's really bad.
- 12:26SPEAKER_14: And you kept watching it.
- 12:27SPEAKER_14: We kept watching it.
- 12:29SPEAKER_14: Like it's gotta get better.
- 12:30SPEAKER_14: Uh and it didn't.
- 12:32SPEAKER_14: So uh that's unfortunate.
- 12:33SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 12:34SPEAKER_14: So that's what we did Saturday night, and now today is Monday.
- 12:39SPEAKER_14: And what did I do today?
- 12:40SPEAKER_14: And here we are.
- 12:40SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 12:41SPEAKER_14: Look at us go.
- 12:42SPEAKER_14: What did I do today?
- 12:43SPEAKER_14: Oh, I replaced the sink.
- 12:45SPEAKER_14: Oh, I replaced the faucet in the in the kitchen.
- 12:48SPEAKER_14: That's what I did today.
- 12:49SPEAKER_14: That was my that was my big job.
- 12:50SPEAKER_14: See, this is my point.
- 12:51SPEAKER_04: Oh, is that what you did?
- 12:52SPEAKER_14: Oh, yeah, so I cut myself.
- 12:53SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 12:54SPEAKER_14: Pretty good.
- 12:55SPEAKER_14: Well, that that means it was a successful job.
- 12:57SPEAKER_14: Absolutely.
- 12:58SPEAKER_14: Well, then you know the pain in the neck was putting the faucet in w was not hard at all.
- 13:04SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 13:04SPEAKER_14: It was getting the old one out.
- 13:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's always the problem.
- 13:07SPEAKER_04: Because it's like welded in there.
- 13:09SPEAKER_04: Well, it's not welded, but it's like Well, I mean, you know what I mean.
- 13:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:12SPEAKER_04: I mean, if you might as well be I mean, it's if it's been there for years and years and years.
- 13:16SPEAKER_04: I mean, there's all kinds of build-up and stuff like that.
- 13:19SPEAKER_04: You might as well just blow it up and then start over.
- 13:22SPEAKER_14: Here's what I did.
- 13:22SPEAKER_14: I so I you know I couldn't get this because it's so hard to get to.
- 13:26SPEAKER_14: Everything's underneath there, right?
- 13:27SPEAKER_14: And I'm not the smallest little guy.
- 13:30SPEAKER_14: So so I'm trying to Well, that's why you have kids, man.
- 13:32SPEAKER_04: You gotta get put in a room.
- 13:33SPEAKER_14: Well, they were all gone.
- 13:34SPEAKER_14: They were all working and stuff.
- 13:35SPEAKER_14: And Myra was sleeping when I did it.
- 13:37SPEAKER_14: Should have woke up, hey, get in here.
- 13:39SPEAKER_14: I need your hands.
- 13:40SPEAKER_14: Anyway, so I finally I finally got it loose and what one of the one of the bolts was catching on it.
- 13:49SPEAKER_14: So I could I could pull the faucet up and I could see the copper wiring or the copper piping.
- 13:55SPEAKER_14: Yep.
- 13:56SPEAKER_14: I I could see that and I said, Here's what I'm gonna do.
- 13:59SPEAKER_14: So I get some bolt cutters.
- 14:01SPEAKER_14: Nice.
- 14:02SPEAKER_14: There, now we get it out.
- 14:03SPEAKER_14: But I mean, to get to that point was I was I may have used and then you sold the copper to some method.
- 14:09SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 14:09SPEAKER_14: I may have used an expletive or two.
- 14:12SPEAKER_04: Well, I mean, is it a job if you don't?
- 14:14SPEAKER_04: Right, exactly.
- 14:15SPEAKER_04: I mean, when dad and I were doing that thing last week, I mean I mean there were swear words going on.
- 14:20SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 14:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean we didn't.
- 14:21SPEAKER_14: Yeah, well, I had to be careful.
- 14:22SPEAKER_14: That's what you have to do.
- 14:23SPEAKER_14: I had to be careful.
- 14:24SPEAKER_04: You have to swear when you're putting stuff together.
- 14:25SPEAKER_14: My daughter was wasn't.
- 14:28SPEAKER_14: She eventually went to sleep, but you know.
- 14:30SPEAKER_14: Uh so that's that's where we are now.
- 14:33SPEAKER_14: What else?
- 14:34SPEAKER_14: What else is going on?
- 14:36SPEAKER_14: We have we have gigs coming up this week.
- 14:38SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 14:39SPEAKER_14: Dos.
- 14:39SPEAKER_14: Dos.
- 14:40SPEAKER_14: Dos gigoletos.
- 14:41SPEAKER_14: So Thursday.
- 14:42SPEAKER_14: I don't think that's an actual word.
- 14:44SPEAKER_14: I like that though.
- 14:45SPEAKER_06: Gigoleto.
- 14:46SPEAKER_06: Hey, Machacho, you got a gigoletto.
- 14:50SPEAKER_14: So Thursday, we are part of Holton's Midnight Madness celebration.
- 14:55SPEAKER_14: Um playing in the evening, maybe.
- 14:57SPEAKER_14: Hopefully.
- 14:58SPEAKER_14: If it doesn't thunderstorm.
- 14:59SPEAKER_04: It's supposed to storm all afternoon or evening.
- 15:02SPEAKER_14: So we will see.
- 15:04SPEAKER_14: And then Saturday we are playing.
- 15:06SPEAKER_04: I mean, if we're undercover, it would be on one thing.
- 15:08SPEAKER_14: Well, I think Morton was going to make sure that we had some sort of cover.
- 15:12SPEAKER_14: Uh but if it's thunderstorms, we can't play.
- 15:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I can't do that.
- 15:15SPEAKER_14: And then uh Saturday we are at Ashland District School in the the Larry Hall Memorial Auditor.
- 15:21SPEAKER_04: Which would be nice.
- 15:22SPEAKER_04: I always like playing in there.
- 15:23SPEAKER_04: It's a nice it's a nice auditorium.
- 15:25SPEAKER_14: It's not a memorial auditorium, is it?
- 15:26SPEAKER_14: It's just the Larry Hall.
- 15:27SPEAKER_14: It is?
- 15:27SPEAKER_14: I think it's memorial.
- 15:28SPEAKER_14: Did they change the name?
- 15:30SPEAKER_04: Maybe not.
- 15:30SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 15:31SPEAKER_14: Because he it was his it was named.
- 15:32SPEAKER_14: Oh, he was alive.
- 15:33SPEAKER_14: He was alive.
- 15:33SPEAKER_14: Yeah, that's it.
- 15:33SPEAKER_14: So I think it's just the Larry Hall auditorium.
- 15:35SPEAKER_14: It could be, yeah.
- 15:36SPEAKER_04: Um it's nice to play in there because it's, you know, yeah.
- 15:39SPEAKER_04: He was part of the syndicate.
- 15:40SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 15:40SPEAKER_04: And here we are, you know.
- 15:41SPEAKER_04: Yep, for sure.
- 15:42SPEAKER_04: I enjoy it.
- 15:43SPEAKER_04: I enjoy it.
- 15:44SPEAKER_04: It's a nice place.
- 15:44SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I agree.
- 15:46SPEAKER_14: Um let's see.
- 15:48SPEAKER_14: What else?
- 15:49SPEAKER_14: Uh Jude came up this weekend.
- 15:51SPEAKER_14: Oh, he did?
- 15:51SPEAKER_14: Yeah, Jude and Kristen.
- 15:52SPEAKER_14: Yeah, they came up.
- 15:54SPEAKER_14: Um I assume they're well.
- 15:55SPEAKER_14: They are very well.
- 15:56SPEAKER_14: Good.
- 15:57SPEAKER_14: Um what else is going on?
- 16:00SPEAKER_14: That's it.
- 16:01SPEAKER_14: Let's talk some music.
- 16:03SPEAKER_14: All right.
- 16:03SPEAKER_14: All right.
- 16:04SPEAKER_14: So what I have I found I saw this at after our podcast last week.
- 16:09SPEAKER_14: Wonderful.
- 16:10SPEAKER_14: Um I love when we find material afterward, I don't know.
- 16:13SPEAKER_14: Right, exactly.
- 16:14SPEAKER_14: I was like, oh, I wish I knew this known this.
- 16:16SPEAKER_14: I would have uh I would have um talked about it.
- 16:20SPEAKER_14: So Van Halen, of course, one of my favorite bands, uh has been on a mission to remaster all of their albums.
- 16:30SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 16:31SPEAKER_14: Uh the Hagar albums.
- 16:32SPEAKER_14: They already did the other ones.
- 16:33SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 16:34SPEAKER_14: Um so they've been remastering the Hagar albums and the last Hagar album, b um, believe it or not, was Balance, which came out in ninety ninety five, ninety six, something like that.
- 16:45SPEAKER_14: Yeah, ninety five, ninety six, somewhere in there.
- 16:48SPEAKER_14: Ninety five.
- 16:48SPEAKER_04: You were still batching at that point.
- 16:50SPEAKER_14: Yep.
- 16:50SPEAKER_14: According to this, it was ninety-five.
- 16:52SPEAKER_14: Um, so they are re-releasing Balance with it's remastered.
- 17:00SPEAKER_14: In addition to the B-side crossing over and the two songs the group and its members included on the Twister soundtrack.
- 17:06SPEAKER_14: Oh, good.
- 17:07SPEAKER_14: The set includes nine previously unreleased live tracks from the Balance Tour.
- 17:13SPEAKER_14: Uh, you can see the complete track list below.
- 17:15SPEAKER_14: I'm getting this from UltimateClassicrock.com, by the way.
- 17:18SPEAKER_14: Um, eight of the live tracks are audio only, taken from a June twenty-fourth, nineteen ninety-five show in London, which featured the band in the unusual position of opening for Bon Jovi.
- 17:30SPEAKER_14: I remember that actually.
- 17:31SPEAKER_14: Van Halen opened for Bon Jovi.
- 17:33SPEAKER_14: That's just sacrilege in London.
- 17:36SPEAKER_14: Uh the ninth appears on the Blu-ray, included with the expanded edition and features a one-time only live performance of the seventh seal with the monks of Gyotantric University, who provide the song's opening chance.
- 17:50SPEAKER_14: I went there.
- 17:51SPEAKER_14: Did you?
- 17:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 17:52SPEAKER_04: I majored in Must be some Shaolin monk type place.
- 18:02SPEAKER_14: I think Balance was the first album to feature uh the final album to feature Sammy Hagar as the group's lead singer, and earned them a fourth straight trip to the top of the Billboard album charts.
- 18:12SPEAKER_14: Don't tell me what love can do, can't stop uh loving you.
- 18:15SPEAKER_14: Um there were some weird tracks on Balance.
- 18:19SPEAKER_14: I I don't think it was balanced, to be honest with you.
- 18:22SPEAKER_04: No, the name was uh it was ironic.
- 18:25SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 18:26SPEAKER_04: Um because I mean there were some really great tracks on that album, and then there were some real floods.
- 18:33SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 18:33SPEAKER_04: I know you like Amsterdam, but I I really don't care if we I like Amsterdam just because I like the riff.
- 18:40SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 18:40SPEAKER_14: Um But it's not my favorite song on the other.
- 18:43SPEAKER_04: And then there was that one that started with Eddie throwing crap into his piano and recording it.
- 18:47SPEAKER_14: Yeah, uh Big Fat Money.
- 18:49SPEAKER_14: It's it it was No no no.
- 18:51SPEAKER_04: It was before it was before uh it goes into uh that love song.
- 18:58SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah, you're right, not enough.
- 19:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 19:01SPEAKER_14: Yeah, you're right.
- 19:02SPEAKER_14: Um Strung Out is what it was.
- 19:04SPEAKER_14: Strung out Strung out.
- 19:05SPEAKER_04: And there was another there's a there's a hidden track, the backle backharium.
- 19:10SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 19:11SPEAKER_14: That wasn't a hidden track.
- 19:12SPEAKER_14: That was a track on the album.
- 19:14SPEAKER_04: It's not on all the albums.
- 19:15SPEAKER_04: Remember remember when I I got the remastered, uh, you know, the other remastered?
- 19:20SPEAKER_14: Uh-huh.
- 19:21SPEAKER_04: It wasn't on there.
- 19:22SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 19:22SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 19:23SPEAKER_04: Um I mean it was on my original CD.
- 19:28SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 19:29SPEAKER_04: It's it's on there, but it wasn't included.
- 19:31SPEAKER_04: I think uh I think they were gonna re-include.
- 19:33SPEAKER_04: Is it on this?
- 19:34SPEAKER_14: It is.
- 19:34SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 19:35SPEAKER_14: Yep.
- 19:35SPEAKER_14: Um so the track listing is the Seven Seal, Can't Stop Loving You.
- 19:39SPEAKER_14: Don't Tell Me What Love Can Do.
- 19:40SPEAKER_14: Amsterdam, Big Fat Money, which I think is it's a big fat waste of time.
- 19:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's that's what it should make.
- 19:46SPEAKER_14: Uh Strung Out, which is also just Yeah, that's a boost.
- 19:49SPEAKER_14: It I can't even believe they put it on as a track.
- 19:51SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 19:52SPEAKER_14: You know.
- 19:52SPEAKER_14: Not Enough, which is a great ballad.
- 19:54SPEAKER_14: That's a good song.
- 19:55SPEAKER_14: Aftershock, which I like.
- 19:56SPEAKER_14: I love that song.
- 19:57SPEAKER_14: Uh Doin' Time, which is another instrumental.
- 20:00SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 20:01SPEAKER_14: And it goes into Belush Ethereum.
- 20:03SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 20:03SPEAKER_14: Which is kind of cool.
- 20:04SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 20:05SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 20:05SPEAKER_14: Take Me Back, which is a very Hagar uh Yeah, oh yeah.
- 20:08SPEAKER_04: That's definitely a that's like a solo.
- 20:10SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 20:11SPEAKER_04: Hagar solo.
- 20:12SPEAKER_14: And then Feelin', which is actually pretty good.
- 20:15SPEAKER_14: That's a good track.
- 20:16SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 20:16SPEAKER_14: Uh and then there's a s uh side two of LP number two is called Etching.
- 20:22SPEAKER_14: I'm not sure what that is.
- 20:23SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 20:24SPEAKER_14: But uh and then let's see.
- 20:26SPEAKER_14: So that's the remaster.
- 20:28SPEAKER_14: CD two has crossing over humans being in respect the wind.
- 20:31SPEAKER_14: And then live at Wembley Stadium, and then there's Blu-ray.
- 20:35SPEAKER_14: So uh Oh, there's a DVD?
- 20:37SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 20:37SPEAKER_04: Or Blu-ray?
- 20:38SPEAKER_04: Blu-ray, yep.
- 20:38SPEAKER_14: So this is live in 1995.
- 20:45SPEAKER_14: I have a hard time believing these are actually the monks.
- 20:48SPEAKER_04: Because it sounds exactly like the tackle.
- 20:51SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 20:55SPEAKER_04: Unless they came in the middle, you know, because they're in that breakdown.
- 20:58SPEAKER_04: I wonder if they're gonna map it.
- 21:05SPEAKER_14: No, this was this was the tour.
- 21:08SPEAKER_14: That well, this is in London.
- 21:12SPEAKER_14: This was the tour that my wife and I went to.
- 21:15SPEAKER_14: Uh we went to the state of the bean.
- 21:20SPEAKER_14: Montreal was Montreal.
- 21:21SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 21:22SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 21:22SPEAKER_14: Yeah, collective stall opened and my wife got well, my girlfriend at the time, got food poisoning and cleaned in the bathroom through all of collective stalls.
- 21:30SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 21:30SPEAKER_14: I felt bad.
- 21:33SPEAKER_14: Um, you know, they had the the monks in Montreal too.
- 21:42SPEAKER_04: It's like actual monster.
- 21:44SPEAKER_14: Supposedly.
- 21:45SPEAKER_14: And it said they were under the stained.
- 21:56SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 22:10SPEAKER_13: I think that's a recording.
- 22:11SPEAKER_04: That still sounds like the recording.
- 22:18SPEAKER_14: I think that's a recording.
- 22:20SPEAKER_14: You know, they were uh like l their live album right here, right now.
- 22:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 22:24SPEAKER_14: Did you know that wasn't live?
- 22:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 22:26SPEAKER_14: Yeah, they went in the studio and redid a bunch of stuff.
- 22:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 22:29SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 22:30SPEAKER_14: So I I'm not sure I believe it.
- 22:31SPEAKER_14: It's kind of a ripoff.
- 22:32SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 22:32SPEAKER_14: I'm not sure I believe that that was uh I don't believe you.
- 22:36SPEAKER_14: I don't.
- 22:37SPEAKER_14: I don't believe you.
- 22:38SPEAKER_14: So that's cool.
- 22:39SPEAKER_14: That comes out uh where did it say?
- 22:42SPEAKER_14: August 15th.
- 22:43SPEAKER_14: Oh nice.
- 22:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 22:44SPEAKER_04: So just in time, but it'll be a back to school album.
- 22:48SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 22:48SPEAKER_14: Yes.
- 22:49SPEAKER_14: Yeah, because I do go back to school that week.
- 22:51SPEAKER_14: So do I.
- 22:53SPEAKER_14: Are you signed up to do subs?
- 22:55SPEAKER_14: Subbing?
- 22:55SPEAKER_14: Have you done that?
- 22:56SPEAKER_14: I will be.
- 22:56SPEAKER_14: You will be?
- 22:57SPEAKER_14: Are you gonna when are you gonna do that?
- 22:59SPEAKER_04: Sometime between now and then.
- 23:01unknown: Okay.
- 23:02SPEAKER_04: I'm not in any hurry, trust me.
- 23:03SPEAKER_04: No, I I understand completely.
- 23:07SPEAKER_14: Alright, so uh Ultimate Classic Rock has another list for us, which I think is kind of hilarious actually.
- 23:14SPEAKER_14: Um, I have to tell you something my daughter said today.
- 23:18SPEAKER_14: Which daughter?
- 23:20SPEAKER_14: My youngest.
- 23:21SPEAKER_14: So we were we went looking for cleats because she's got a soccer camp coming up.
- 23:26SPEAKER_14: And you'll you'll find this funny and it's a little it's a little off-color, but I c I could I couldn't help I have to tell you the story.
- 23:35SPEAKER_14: So there's a new shoe store in the mall.
- 23:37SPEAKER_14: So we wanted yeah.
- 23:39SPEAKER_14: So we wanted to go there first just to see what they had and see if they had cleats in that.
- 23:44SPEAKER_14: Apparently they don't carry cleats at all.
- 23:46SPEAKER_14: They have uh casual casual walking and running shoes.
- 23:53SPEAKER_04: And you run in soccer, I mean come on.
- 23:54SPEAKER_14: Yeah, right exactly.
- 23:56SPEAKER_14: But they have this little corner where there's some some jerseys like um uh Chicago Bulls jersey, um, you know, a couple other things, and some hats, every sports-related stuff, you know, in this corner.
- 24:08SPEAKER_14: And my daughter, innocent as she is, um she's we're she says, Can we look around?
- 24:14SPEAKER_14: I said, Sure.
- 24:15SPEAKER_14: So we're looking at you know, sneakers and everything, and then she we get to this corner where all the sports stuff is, and she's like and there's only one other person in the store, it's the associate, but she's just you know, she doesn't say this under her breath, she just says it.
- 24:27SPEAKER_14: Um Dad, this is like the smallest dicks I've ever seen.
- 24:35SPEAKER_14: Dick sporting goods, right?
- 24:38SPEAKER_14: And I I so wanted to say, keep your voice down, but she didn't know any different.
- 24:43SPEAKER_14: You know, she's just talking about the store.
- 24:45SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 24:46SPEAKER_04: But she's our mind immediately goes to you know because we're 12.
- 24:50SPEAKER_13: The smallest dicks I've ever seen.
- 24:52SPEAKER_13: Yeah, okay.
- 24:54SPEAKER_13: Um I did not correct her.
- 24:58SPEAKER_13: Yeah, I just went, hmm, yeah.
- 25:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 25:03SPEAKER_04: Hey, look at that, right?
- 25:05SPEAKER_04: Michael Jordan's jersey.
- 25:06SPEAKER_04: Look at that.
- 25:07SPEAKER_04: It's five hundred dollars.
- 25:09SPEAKER_04: That's yeah, that that still amazes me.
- 25:12SPEAKER_04: What?
- 25:13SPEAKER_04: I mean, the man hasn't played basketball in decades.
- 25:15SPEAKER_14: I know.
- 25:16SPEAKER_04: And his jersey's still like three.
- 25:17SPEAKER_04: Well, he's the goat.
- 25:18SPEAKER_14: He is, he's he will always be the goat.
- 25:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean, LeBron never will touch that guy.
- 25:22SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 25:23SPEAKER_04: I don't care what anybody says.
- 25:24SPEAKER_14: Do you follow any of the WNBA?
- 25:27SPEAKER_04: I've been watching it just because I've you know, it's it's hard not to because it's such a train wreck.
- 25:33SPEAKER_04: It is because, you know, basically it's everybody beating up on Caitlin Clark.
- 25:38SPEAKER_14: It's so true.
- 25:38SPEAKER_04: And and the WNBA going, yeah.
- 25:41SPEAKER_14: Doing nothing about it.
- 25:43SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 25:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah, no.
- 25:44SPEAKER_04: Except now that her teammate, what's her name?
- 25:46SPEAKER_04: She's Sophie Cunningham.
- 25:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 25:47SPEAKER_04: I mean, she's starting to be like, you know, like, you know, WWE people.
- 25:52SPEAKER_04: You know, so you're not gonna call anything?
- 25:54SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 25:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, apparently her her following on Instagram went from like 300,000 to like over a million in like a week.
- 26:01SPEAKER_14: You know, so well we've got we we uh So the boys had a um uh invitational tournament and they were playing, and one of the one of the varsity players got poked in the eye.
- 26:12SPEAKER_14: And so of course, now it's a verb.
- 26:14SPEAKER_14: Oh, Brandon got Caitlin Clark.
- 26:16SPEAKER_14: Yeah, yeah.
- 26:17SPEAKER_14: Here we go.
- 26:18SPEAKER_14: Right, here we go.
- 26:19SPEAKER_14: Anyway, um I think she's doing wonders for just rocking it.
- 26:28SPEAKER_14: The uh the attendance for when she because she's injured now.
- 26:31SPEAKER_04: Well, she was, and then she came back in.
- 26:33SPEAKER_04: And then she's injured again.
- 26:34SPEAKER_04: Okay, yeah.
- 26:35SPEAKER_04: Well, it always goes down when she's injured.
- 26:36SPEAKER_04: Always like she had like a ham stit hamstring injury.
- 26:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, she was out for like a week.
- 26:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah, viewership dropped like 50, 60 percent.
- 26:44SPEAKER_04: And and attendance.
- 26:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 26:45SPEAKER_04: So I mean, you know, and then when she came back, it went back up.
- 26:48SPEAKER_04: Now that she's out again, you know what's going on.
- 26:50SPEAKER_04: People are so mad at her, and I'm like, why are you mad at her?
- 26:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, she is she's carrying that league by herself.
- 26:56SPEAKER_13: She is, she's shining a light.
- 26:57SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 26:58SPEAKER_13: And and you guys are gonna blow up because of her, so you should be thankful for her.
- 27:02SPEAKER_04: I think Ice Cube wanted her to play in his league.
- 27:04SPEAKER_14: He did, yeah.
- 27:05SPEAKER_14: He made awesome.
- 27:06SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 27:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 27:07SPEAKER_04: I mean, I would have been like, yeah, I'll play for Ice Cube before I play for the WMBA.
- 27:11SPEAKER_04: He made her an offer, yeah, for sure.
- 27:12SPEAKER_14: Um okay, Ultimate Classic Rock has another list for us.
- 27:15SPEAKER_14: Oh.
- 27:15SPEAKER_14: And this is kind of funny.
- 27:16SPEAKER_14: Twenty-five album titles that were just begging for bad reviews.
- 27:21SPEAKER_14: Ah, yeah.
- 27:22SPEAKER_14: I've seen that.
- 27:23SPEAKER_14: Um so well, number one.
- 27:27SPEAKER_14: Dookie.
- 27:27SPEAKER_14: Dookie.
- 27:28SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 27:28SPEAKER_14: From Green T.
- 27:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you got it.
- 27:30SPEAKER_04: You know, I mean, the album's great.
- 27:32SPEAKER_13: Yeah, don't get me wrong, but the title is just terrible.
- 27:35SPEAKER_13: It's like this album is a piece of Dookie.
- 27:37SPEAKER_13: It's a piece of poop.
- 27:39SPEAKER_13: Metallica Load.
- 27:41SPEAKER_04: Well, they didn't do themselves any favors by what they put on the cover.
- 27:46SPEAKER_13: Right.
- 27:46SPEAKER_04: So, I mean, you know, yeah, you're gonna get and the album, I mean, the album's not terrible.
- 27:51SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 27:52SPEAKER_04: It's not my favorite, but it's definitely not terrible, but yeah, you know, it is what it is.
- 27:55SPEAKER_14: Alice Cooper's trash.
- 27:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but uh, you know, with Alice Cooper, I mean, the name doesn't really matter what he calls his album.
- 28:04SPEAKER_14: True.
- 28:05SPEAKER_14: Yeah, but if you call your album trash, I don't know.
- 28:08SPEAKER_14: I mean, what is it?
- 28:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but still Alice Cooper.
- 28:10SPEAKER_04: I mean, you know, he isn't he doesn't care.
- 28:12SPEAKER_04: Well, I mean, you know, you know where he's you know what direction he's trying to go in.
- 28:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, of course.
- 28:16SPEAKER_04: So, you know, just like, you know.
- 28:18SPEAKER_04: But it's like, you know, it's like Dookie, you know, it's like right.
- 28:21SPEAKER_14: Uh The Rolling Stones from 1981, sucking in the seventies.
- 28:25SPEAKER_14: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:26SPEAKER_14: I don't think I'm familiar with this album, actually.
- 28:28SPEAKER_14: Uh it's only rock and roll and black and blue were were on this album.
- 28:32SPEAKER_14: Uh uh.
- 28:34SPEAKER_14: Yeah, it's a good one.
- 28:35SPEAKER_14: Oh, it's a compilation album.
- 28:36SPEAKER_14: That's why.
- 28:36SPEAKER_14: Oh, that's why that's why.
- 28:38SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 28:38SPEAKER_14: Uh, because it's a blends of blend of remixes, unreleased songs, b-sides, and live tracks.
- 28:42SPEAKER_14: So nobody cares about that.
- 28:44SPEAKER_14: Michael Jackson's bad.
- 28:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but it's Michael Jackson.
- 28:48SPEAKER_14: How are you gonna I mean and it's bad as in as in badass.
- 28:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like bad it is a badass album.
- 28:53SPEAKER_04: You know, it really is.
- 28:54SPEAKER_04: I mean, he well, I mean, you know, if you go by the cover and you look at that outfit, yeah, it's kind of ridiculous.
- 29:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, a little bit.
- 29:00SPEAKER_04: But it was kind, but I mean, this was what, late 80s?
- 29:04SPEAKER_14: Early eighty nine, uh, eighty-seven.
- 29:06SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 29:07SPEAKER_04: So I mean, this was this was the look.
- 29:09SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 29:09SPEAKER_04: You know, not not quite to this level.
- 29:12SPEAKER_14: For him, it was.
- 29:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 29:13SPEAKER_04: I mean, this is I mean, it was with Michael Jackson.
- 29:15SPEAKER_04: Everybody loves Michael Jackson, right?
- 29:16SPEAKER_04: You know, so they're not gonna care.
- 29:18SPEAKER_14: Weird owl, even worse.
- 29:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah, see, that's just weird out though.
- 29:21SPEAKER_04: You're not gonna go wrong with that.
- 29:24SPEAKER_13: I love that guy.
- 29:25SPEAKER_13: I love that guy so much.
- 29:27SPEAKER_13: That was that was a year later in 88.
- 29:30SPEAKER_13: You're gonna put out an album called Bad?
- 29:32SPEAKER_13: I'm gonna put one out called Even Worse.
- 29:36SPEAKER_04: That's just Weird Al, man.
- 29:37SPEAKER_04: You can't go wrong with that guy.
- 29:38SPEAKER_14: Um The replacements stink, kids don't follow, plus 11.
- 29:43SPEAKER_14: The album is called Stink from 1982.
- 29:45SPEAKER_14: I don't think I know.
- 29:46SPEAKER_04: I don't think I know that album at all.
- 29:48SPEAKER_14: Uh let's see.
- 29:50SPEAKER_14: The replacements don't sell or buy.
- 29:52SPEAKER_14: It's crap.
- 29:53SPEAKER_04: That's pretty good.
- 29:55SPEAKER_04: I will give them that.
- 29:56SPEAKER_14: But that's like reverse psychology.
- 29:58SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 29:58SPEAKER_04: Right?
- 29:59SPEAKER_04: Everybody's gonna be like, oh, I gotta get it now.
- 30:01SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 30:02SPEAKER_14: Uh Jefferson Airplane, the worst of Jefferson Airplane.
- 30:06SPEAKER_14: From 1970.
- 30:08SPEAKER_14: Um The Mothers of Invention, the worst of the mothers.
- 30:13SPEAKER_14: That's not a terrible Ashton Gardner plus Dyke.
- 30:17SPEAKER_14: The worst of Ashton Gardner plus Dyke.
- 30:20SPEAKER_04: I have no idea who that is.
- 30:22SPEAKER_14: Nope.
- 30:22SPEAKER_14: I don't either.
- 30:23SPEAKER_14: I'm not sure.
- 30:24SPEAKER_14: I'm trying to uh type O negative, the least worst of what is with what is with these compilation albums with terrible names.
- 30:33SPEAKER_04: What were we gonna call ours?
- 30:35SPEAKER_04: Super mediocre.
- 30:36SPEAKER_04: Super mediocre.
- 30:37SPEAKER_04: That's not terrible.
- 30:38SPEAKER_04: No, it's not.
- 30:39SPEAKER_04: It's great.
- 30:40SPEAKER_13: Limp Biscuit still sucks.
- 30:45SPEAKER_04: I mean, that's just truthful and truth in advertising.
- 30:47SPEAKER_14: So Monty Python's contractual obligation album.
- 30:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but that's just Monty Python.
- 30:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:52SPEAKER_04: I mean they're just funny, man.
- 30:54SPEAKER_14: The crab apples, crap.
- 30:57SPEAKER_04: Direct and to the point I guess.
- 30:58SPEAKER_13: I think I know the crab apples.
- 31:00SPEAKER_13: The crab apples, more crap.
- 31:02SPEAKER_13: Okay.
- 31:04SPEAKER_04: I see a pattern now.
- 31:05SPEAKER_14: I'm sorry.
- 31:06SPEAKER_14: This is stuff that this is something that we would do, though.
- 31:08SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 31:09SPEAKER_04: Exactly what we would do.
- 31:10SPEAKER_14: Um Daisu Taum, more crap.
- 31:14SPEAKER_04: I don't even know who that is.
- 31:16SPEAKER_14: Devo, Devo's Greatest Missus.
- 31:19SPEAKER_04: That's actually kind of a funny album.
- 31:22SPEAKER_14: Joni Mitchell Misses.
- 31:25SPEAKER_14: Six years after Devo, Joni Mitchell repeated the same day, best and worthy of reconsideration, dual release formula with hits and misses.
- 31:33SPEAKER_14: Only agreeing to the former if she was allowed to do the latter.
- 31:36SPEAKER_14: So she she only agreed to a greatest hits album if she could do a greatest missus album.
- 31:42SPEAKER_14: I don't know why you'd do that, but alright.
- 31:44SPEAKER_14: Why not?
- 31:45SPEAKER_14: Andy Partridge, my failed songwriting career, volume one.
- 31:49SPEAKER_04: That's funny.
- 31:51SPEAKER_14: Graham Parker, songs of no consequence.
- 31:55SPEAKER_14: Guided by voices, suitcase, failed experiments, and trashed aircraft.
- 32:01SPEAKER_14: Beastie boys, some old bullshit.
- 32:07SPEAKER_14: Uh KMFDM.
- 32:10SPEAKER_04: KDFM?
- 32:10SPEAKER_14: No, KMFDM.
- 32:12SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah.
- 32:12SPEAKER_14: Sucks.
- 32:13SPEAKER_14: Kill Mother F in the Pesh Mode.
- 32:15SPEAKER_14: Is that what it is?
- 32:16SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 32:17SPEAKER_14: I never knew that.
- 32:17SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 32:18SPEAKER_14: Um Sugar Ray, 1459.
- 32:23SPEAKER_04: Is that how much it costs?
- 32:24SPEAKER_14: Let's see.
- 32:25SPEAKER_14: Fly didn't impress many music critics who were quick to label Sugar Ray a one-hit wonder.
- 32:28SPEAKER_14: The band got it in on the fun by naming their next album 1459, a reference to Andy Warhol's quote about everybody getting their 15 minutes of fame in the future.
- 32:37SPEAKER_14: That's clever.
- 32:38SPEAKER_14: But the joke was on everybody else that Sugar Ray's time wasn't almost up.
- 32:41SPEAKER_14: Instead, they notched two top ten singles and triple platinum sales for 1459.
- 32:46SPEAKER_14: Well, there you go.
- 32:48SPEAKER_04: I'm surprised uh System of a Down wasn't on here.
- 32:51SPEAKER_04: Which was Steal This Album.
- 32:53SPEAKER_04: Steal this album.
- 32:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 32:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 32:55SPEAKER_14: So we had some pretty cool uh um album titles um that were along those lines.
- 33:04SPEAKER_14: I have a list of them right here.
- 33:05SPEAKER_14: Yeah, well super mediocre was the one that like we mentioned that that comes to mind.
- 33:09SPEAKER_04: I have the list here somewhere.
- 33:10SPEAKER_04: Hold on a little bit.
- 33:13SPEAKER_14: I remember Hold Upright and Aim at the floor.
- 33:16SPEAKER_04: So here are our potential albums.
- 33:18SPEAKER_04: Songs from Pete's Market.
- 33:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 33:20SPEAKER_04: Which I still love.
- 33:21SPEAKER_14: Yeah, me too.
- 33:22SPEAKER_04: Soundtrack to the party.
- 33:24SPEAKER_04: Soundtrack to the party?
- 33:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 33:26SPEAKER_04: I don't remember that one.
- 33:27SPEAKER_04: I don't remember where we got that one.
- 33:28SPEAKER_04: Rough Housing and Other Shenanigans.
- 33:30SPEAKER_04: I like that.
- 33:30SPEAKER_04: I love that one.
- 33:31SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 33:31SPEAKER_04: Slow and sexy.
- 33:34SPEAKER_04: That's awesome.
- 33:35SPEAKER_04: Super mediocre.
- 33:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 33:37SPEAKER_04: Of course.
- 33:37SPEAKER_04: Greatest potential hits.
- 33:39SPEAKER_04: There you go.
- 33:40SPEAKER_04: Leave your ego at the door.
- 33:44SPEAKER_04: PFM.
- 33:45SPEAKER_04: Pure freaking magic.
- 33:49SPEAKER_04: Uh this was gonna be one of our uh greatest hits.
- 33:52SPEAKER_04: The greatest songs you've never heard, a retrospective.
- 33:55SPEAKER_04: I think I came up with that one.
- 33:57SPEAKER_04: I think it's great.
- 33:58SPEAKER_04: Unknowns but no mysteries, which I think is a cool Unknowns but no mysteries.
- 34:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 34:04SPEAKER_04: I don't think I've ever heard that one.
- 34:05SPEAKER_04: I came up with that one.
- 34:06SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 34:06SPEAKER_04: That was one of the ones where like I was reading something.
- 34:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 34:09SPEAKER_04: That was in a Neil Pearl book.
- 34:11SPEAKER_04: Oh, nice.
- 34:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 34:12SPEAKER_04: So I was like, oh, I like that.
- 34:14SPEAKER_04: Uh oil checks and movie quotes, which is pretty basically setting up and tearing down.
- 34:20SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 34:21SPEAKER_04: Roller skating with supermodels, which I absolutely love.
- 34:23SPEAKER_13: Oh yes, we have to use that.
- 34:24SPEAKER_04: I absolutely love that.
- 34:26SPEAKER_04: We have to use that.
- 34:27SPEAKER_04: Time is irrelevant.
- 34:29SPEAKER_04: I don't know why we came up with that.
- 34:32SPEAKER_04: Uh Marshmallows in the shoe bag.
- 34:35SPEAKER_04: I don't know what that came from.
- 34:36SPEAKER_04: I have no idea.
- 34:37SPEAKER_04: I don't know where that came from.
- 34:38SPEAKER_04: One big stupid band.
- 34:43SPEAKER_04: Which I love.
- 34:46SPEAKER_04: Uh the econom the economics of scarcity.
- 34:50SPEAKER_13: Oh, I like that.
- 34:51SPEAKER_13: Yeah, that's kind of cool.
- 34:51SPEAKER_13: That's an acoustic album.
- 34:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it is.
- 34:53SPEAKER_04: Uh Tickling the Muse.
- 34:55SPEAKER_04: Oh, I like that too.
- 34:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I like that one.
- 34:57SPEAKER_04: Uh, and God sent me a jacket.
- 35:00SPEAKER_04: God sent me a jacket?
- 35:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I have no idea where that came from.
- 35:03SPEAKER_06: No idea, but I wrote it down.
- 35:06SPEAKER_13: Those are awesome.
- 35:07SPEAKER_13: Yeah, I know, right?
- 35:08SPEAKER_13: Rolling skating with supermodels.
- 35:10SPEAKER_13: Roller skating with supermodels.
- 35:11SPEAKER_13: That's the winner.
- 35:12SPEAKER_13: I just love that.
- 35:12SPEAKER_13: I freaking love that one.
- 35:14SPEAKER_13: I can see the cover now.
- 35:19SPEAKER_04: We gotta design it ourselves.
- 35:21SPEAKER_04: We gotta like put ourselves in there and then like like take like people like women roller skating, but like cut their heads off and put like supermodel heads on them.
- 35:34SPEAKER_04: It's just you know like city property.
- 35:37SPEAKER_04: Cathy Ireland, just their heads.
- 35:39SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 35:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 35:43SPEAKER_04: Or have pictures of us like roller skating and then cut our heads off, put the supermodels on.
- 35:48SPEAKER_06: I think that would be better.
- 35:53SPEAKER_04: That would be best.
- 35:55SPEAKER_04: I think that'd be a great cover.
- 35:56SPEAKER_04: Oh my word.
- 35:59SPEAKER_04: Alright, you remember we that our first album, Psychological Services?
- 36:03SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 36:04SPEAKER_04: Remember, remember that cover album?
- 36:06SPEAKER_04: I made that with uh Microsafe Microsoft Paint.
- 36:10SPEAKER_04: It was like a house that like a little kid drew, and I wrote, you know, like there was like a stick figure dog, and like the sun was up there, and I I had like I wrote S-O-N and pointed at it and stuff like that.
- 36:23SPEAKER_13: I forgot about that.
- 36:25SPEAKER_04: I love that.
- 36:26SPEAKER_04: I love making that album.
- 36:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 36:28SPEAKER_14: That was just you and I, wasn't it?
- 36:29SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 36:30SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 36:30SPEAKER_14: For the most part anyway.
- 36:31SPEAKER_04: Well, we we came up with a name and then.
- 36:33SPEAKER_14: Yeah, but didn't uh I think Shane was Josiah's Tale was on there, and I think Shane played on it.
- 36:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it was like old st we had old stuff on there and then stuff that you and I did after Shane left and stuff like that.
- 36:43SPEAKER_14: So we need to redo all that.
- 36:46SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah.
- 36:46SPEAKER_14: Like in a real studio.
- 36:47SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 36:47SPEAKER_14: Some of that stuff is pretty cool.
- 36:49SPEAKER_14: It is really.
- 36:49SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 36:50SPEAKER_14: Like Josiah's tale.
- 36:51SPEAKER_14: Right, exactly.
- 36:52SPEAKER_14: Uh all right.
- 37:01SPEAKER_04: Speaking of Van Halen.
- 37:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 37:06SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 37:07SPEAKER_04: Have you heard from our Yes, everybody got back to me.
- 37:10SPEAKER_04: They're they're they're good to go.
- 37:12SPEAKER_13: Awesome.
- 37:13SPEAKER_13: So uh let's do the past.
- 37:15SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 37:17SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 37:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah, sorry.
- 37:23SPEAKER_04: I felt bad putting everybody on the spot, but everybody came through, so that's good.
- 37:27SPEAKER_04: Uh let's see.
- 37:28SPEAKER_04: This is what our awesome judge said.
- 37:34SPEAKER_04: Okay, so when I when I messaged her, did you tell her we're going in tonight?
- 37:41SPEAKER_04: She was like, oh, I I gotta finish listening to the podcast.
- 37:44SPEAKER_04: She was listening to it as I was typing.
- 37:46SPEAKER_04: So she said, I gotta have to finish listening to the podcast.
- 37:49SPEAKER_04: So this is what she said.
- 37:51SPEAKER_04: First off, I look like a lunatic cackling as I'm running around the track.
- 37:55SPEAKER_04: Uh I guess she was exercising while she was listening.
- 37:58SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 37:58SPEAKER_04: Uh that was great.
- 37:59SPEAKER_04: I needed those laughs.
- 38:01SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
- 38:01SPEAKER_04: Um then she said, they're all great pick, made it hard, but I had to go with hot stuff.
- 38:06SPEAKER_04: Although all three songs are perfect for this week.
- 38:09SPEAKER_04: Have a great podcast.
- 38:10SPEAKER_04: Nice.
- 38:10SPEAKER_04: So I don't even remember what the question was.
- 38:12SPEAKER_04: It was the strip tease one.
- 38:14SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 38:14SPEAKER_04: I can forget forget that one.
- 38:17SPEAKER_14: Yeah, exactly.
- 38:18SPEAKER_04: Uh so yes.
- 38:19SPEAKER_04: So that was Cousin Larry's.
- 38:21SPEAKER_14: This this week's question, I would be surprised if if some of some of us don't have the same we might.
- 38:29SPEAKER_04: The same.
- 38:30SPEAKER_04: So this week's question.
- 38:32SPEAKER_04: Uh you just won the$60 million lottery.
- 38:36SPEAKER_04: What song plays as you go pick up your check?
- 38:38SPEAKER_04: Okay, so.
- 38:38SPEAKER_04: Cousin Larry.
- 38:39SPEAKER_04: Cousin Larry.
- 38:40SPEAKER_04: He got right back to me, which was good of him.
- 38:44SPEAKER_04: Uh that's what he said.
- 38:46SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 38:48SPEAKER_04: Mixtape.
- 38:49SPEAKER_04: I think I could go a few ways.
- 38:51SPEAKER_04: Obviously, I would probably quit my job, although I like my job.
- 38:55SPEAKER_04: Retirement song by the Beatles.
- 38:58SPEAKER_04: I never heard of that.
- 38:59SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 38:59SPEAKER_04: By the Beatles.
- 39:01SPEAKER_04: Retirement song?
- 39:05SPEAKER_04: I don't think I don't know what he's talking about here.
- 39:08SPEAKER_04: Retirement song by the Beatles?
- 39:10SPEAKER_14: Well, there's one called the Retirement Song by the Longest Johns.
- 39:14SPEAKER_14: Is that what he's maybe that's a wonder if they sound like the Beatles?
- 39:19SPEAKER_14: Maybe just play that for a second.
- 39:22SPEAKER_14: See if it uh like a Beatles tribute?
- 39:25SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 39:26SPEAKER_14: Well, that's fine.
- 39:27SPEAKER_04: Maybe he thought it was a tribute.
- 39:35SPEAKER_00: Oh, I won't go sailing anymore.
- 39:37SPEAKER_00: This is more like sea shape.
- 39:40SPEAKER_00: Right here.
- 39:41SPEAKER_14: I don't think that's what he's talking about.
- 39:43SPEAKER_04: Retirement song?
- 39:45SPEAKER_04: That's what he said.
- 39:46SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 39:47SPEAKER_04: Anyway, I'll just it's not his it's not his picks.
- 39:49SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 39:50SPEAKER_04: Uh and then he said, or maybe beautiful day by you too.
- 39:53SPEAKER_02: So good song.
- 39:55SPEAKER_04: Since the remaining years of my life would be financially comfortable, maybe I'd sail off to Margaritaville.
- 40:00SPEAKER_04: But I like to think I would live comfortably, but help others who were not as fortunate as me.
- 40:05SPEAKER_04: But being an accountant, my first thought was how much income tax do I have to pay?
- 40:10SPEAKER_04: So I'll go with tax man by the beat up.
- 40:14SPEAKER_04: Honorable mention to all songs that raise money for good causes.
- 40:18SPEAKER_10: Let's see, here we go.
- 40:21SPEAKER_10: One, two, three, four, one, two.
- 40:28SPEAKER_01: Let me tell you how it was.
- 41:19SPEAKER_04: Excellent choice.
- 41:19SPEAKER_04: Uh, what is your choice?
- 41:24SPEAKER_04: Oh, what did I say?
- 41:26SPEAKER_04: Good thing I wrote it down.
- 41:28SPEAKER_04: Uh well, speaking of the Beatles, baby, I'm a rich man! That's what you pick?
- 41:37SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 41:41SPEAKER_04: It's baby, you're a rich man, but okay.
- 41:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah, whatever.
- 41:44SPEAKER_04: You know what I meant.
- 41:59SPEAKER_04: It's kind of a quirky song.
- 42:02SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 42:02SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 42:05SPEAKER_04: There were a lot of drugs involved at this point.
- 42:07SPEAKER_07: What do you mean?

- 44:11SPEAKER_14: And I chose.
- 44:12SPEAKER_04: Well, you were right.
- 44:14SPEAKER_04: I mean, we chose the same artist, but not the same song.

- 44:33SPEAKER_04: But oh, do you ever?
- 44:35SPEAKER_04: What screaming guitar solo do you play at the talent show to melt the faces off your peers, to steal the wind, and to be carried off the stage in victory?
- 44:45SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 44:45SPEAKER_04: That's a cool question.
- 44:46SPEAKER_14: That's a great question.

- 45:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I'm not picking it either.
- 45:12SPEAKER_14: I know which one you're gonna pick.
- 45:14SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I do.
- 45:19SPEAKER_04: No, I didn't even thought of that.

- 47:40SPEAKER_04: You're gonna lose that girl.
- 47:42SPEAKER_04: It's a great song.
- 47:43SPEAKER_04: The Beatles sang this in a scene in Help set in the recording studio, which was filmed at Twickingham Film Studios.
- 47:52SPEAKER_04: The song is interrupted when the gang chasing Ringo cut a hole around his drum kit from the ceiling of the room below.
- 48:00SPEAKER_04: Forgot about that.
- 48:02SPEAKER_04: Uh, written mainly by John, but completed with Paul at his Weybridge home.
- 48:07SPEAKER_04: The song is a warning to an unidentified male that if he doesn't start treating his girlfriend right, John is going to move in on her, developing a theme he first outlined in She Loves You.
- 48:20SPEAKER_04: I just love this scene in the movie because Ringo's just nonchalantly playing the drums with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth.
- 48:27SPEAKER_04: I just it just cracks me up.
- 48:34SPEAKER_02: Um great song though.
- 48:35SPEAKER_04: It's one of my favorite ones, me too.
- 48:37SPEAKER_04: Of all time.
- 48:38SPEAKER_04: Me too.
- 48:46SPEAKER_10: I'll make a point, I'll take a point on you.
- 49:24SPEAKER_14: I'll make up on good stuff.
- 49:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 49:28SPEAKER_04: Was that was that from our last week?
- 49:30SPEAKER_14: From last week's from last week's.
- 49:32SPEAKER_14: Really?
- 49:32SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 49:32SPEAKER_14: Wow.
- 49:33SPEAKER_14: Well, that's typically what we get.
- 49:34SPEAKER_14: Is around that.
- 49:35SPEAKER_04: Wasn't just necessarily last week's podcast.
- 49:38SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 49:39SPEAKER_04: Just last week.
- 49:39SPEAKER_14: Last week.
- 49:40SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 49:40SPEAKER_14: Yeah, yeah.
- 49:42SPEAKER_04: I was about to say the title must have just grabbed people.
- 49:45SPEAKER_04: They were just like, really?
- 49:46SPEAKER_04: I gotta check out this.
- 49:47SPEAKER_14: That's what he's talking about, is I showed him how many downloads we got last week from our podcast, which still wasn't very many.
- 49:53SPEAKER_14: But still.
- 49:54SPEAKER_04: Well, we don't do this for the money.
- 49:57SPEAKER_04: So true.
- 49:59SPEAKER_04: If we did, we'd we'd be on uh GoFundMe.
- 50:05SPEAKER_04: Help us make crap!
- 50:07SPEAKER_13: Help us eat.
- 50:09SPEAKER_13: We eat food.
- 50:12SPEAKER_13: Alright, I have an album.
- 50:14SPEAKER_02: So let the guessing begin.
- 50:16SPEAKER_02: Is it a band?
- 50:18SPEAKER_02: No.
- 50:18SPEAKER_02: Solo?
- 50:19SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 50:20SPEAKER_02: Is it a band?
- 50:20SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 50:21SPEAKER_02: Solo man.
- 50:22SPEAKER_02: Solomon.
- 50:24SPEAKER_02: The bad guy in the order of the ring.
- 50:26SPEAKER_02: Solomon.
- 50:29SPEAKER_02: Solomon.
- 50:30SPEAKER_04: Sounds like Solomon.
- 50:32SPEAKER_04: Now I can't watch it anymore.
- 50:34SPEAKER_04: Solomon! Solomon! It's the white hand of Solomon.
- 50:43SPEAKER_04: I gotta lost it.
- 50:51SPEAKER_04: Solo male performer.
- 50:56SPEAKER_04: Um sixties.
- 51:42SPEAKER_14: And then he, you know, the one off on his own.
- 51:44SPEAKER_14: Yeah, yeah.
- 51:45SPEAKER_14: So the album that I chose though is called Bronx in Blue.
- 51:51SPEAKER_14: And it comes from 2006.
- 51:54SPEAKER_14: Very later.
- 51:55SPEAKER_14: Very later Dion.
- 51:57SPEAKER_14: And I don't know if you know this, but Dion went blues.
- 52:01SPEAKER_14: Did you know that?
- 52:03SPEAKER_04: I don't believe I did.
- 52:05SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 52:06SPEAKER_14: Dion, actually, I have an album that he put out um even in 2020 called Blues with Friends.
- 52:13SPEAKER_14: He's got Joe Bonamasa on there and all this stuff.
- 52:16SPEAKER_14: But this album Who would have Thunk It?
- 52:18SPEAKER_14: Right?
- 52:18SPEAKER_14: This album uh is like it's got the walking blues, Robert Johnson.
- 52:23SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 52:24SPEAKER_14: Um Travelin' Riverside Blues, How Many More Years, Terraplane Blues, a lot of Robert Johnson on here.
- 52:28SPEAKER_14: Really?
- 52:29SPEAKER_14: Um, and he plays all the guitars and does all the vocals.
- 52:33SPEAKER_14: He just has somebody doing drums and percussions for him.
- 52:39SPEAKER_14: This is this is walking blues.
- 52:41SPEAKER_11: I woke up this morning, look round for my shoes.
- 52:46SPEAKER_11: Some telling me child gotta go.
- 52:48SPEAKER_11: Walk and blues.
- 52:50SPEAKER_11: I woke up this morning, looking round for my shoes down.
- 52:56SPEAKER_14: That voice is unmistakable.
- 52:57SPEAKER_14: Yeah, that's true.
- 52:58SPEAKER_11: Yeah, some telling me little girl, I gotta stay on you know it.
- 53:08SPEAKER_11: Foot run of the ocean, ocean, to run to the sea.
- 53:13SPEAKER_11: If I don't find my baby, comparing me.
- 53:17SPEAKER_11: Foot run of the ocean, ocean, do run to the sea.
- 53:24SPEAKER_14: But it's very stripped down.
- 53:25SPEAKER_11: Yeah, if I don't find my which I love.
- 53:31SPEAKER_14: This one's called I Let My Baby Do That.
- 53:38SPEAKER_11: Call me sweet popping, cause I'm slamming and tall.
- 53:42SPEAKER_11: But when it comes time to get my ashes tall, I'll let my baby do that.
- 53:48SPEAKER_11: I let my baby do that.
- 53:51SPEAKER_11: I let my baby do that and give my word mine.
- 53:56SPEAKER_14: If you think about it, all the early rock and roll was blues.
- 54:02SPEAKER_11: Yeah, you know what I mean?
- 54:03SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 54:04SPEAKER_14: Uh here's his version of Crossroads.
- 54:19SPEAKER_11: I went down in the crossroad, fell down on my knees.
- 54:26SPEAKER_14: So he just got somebody doing percussion for me.
- 54:28SPEAKER_14: He's everything else.
- 54:41SPEAKER_11: Save me if you please.
- 54:45SPEAKER_14: Alright, I want to play you something from so this is a great album, by the way.

- 56:15SPEAKER_14: But yeah, he's been uh at least the last 15-28 years.
- 56:22SPEAKER_14: Did I say 28?
- 56:23SPEAKER_14: Yeah, 15-20 years, he's been a blues guy.
- 56:27SPEAKER_14: And he's been embracing uh the blues and and most of the projects that he's done.
