- 0:33Speaker 3: Many like I'm not scared of spiders or heights or
- 0:37Speaker 3: you know, germs or anything like it would be like
- 0:40Speaker 3: a normal kind of sobia, but I'm I'm just I'm
- 0:44Speaker 3: horrified of stickers, like action stickers, you know, like like
- 0:52Speaker 3: like I freaked out, I freaked out and kindery. Yeah,
- 0:55Speaker 3: I freaked out in kindergarten when I got a gold sticker,
- 0:58Speaker 3: like you know, the stickers like bumper stick like all
- 1:03Speaker 3: of it.
- 1:03Speaker 1: We had people call with phobias before.
- 1:07Speaker 2: We've had people scared of bridges, We've had people scared
- 1:10Speaker 2: of mayonnaise.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Yeah, stickers is wild wow, I mean elementary school. Yeah,
- 1:18Speaker 1: it must have been tough for you, or getting your
- 1:19Speaker 1: car registered every year or anything.
- 1:21Speaker 2: There's now I think about it, there's stickers everywhere. There's
- 1:24Speaker 2: sticking around me right now.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Okay, So.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I'm talking like any kind of adhesive tape, you know,
- 1:32Speaker 3: Scotch tape, duct tape, even glue. Glue is not as bad.
- 1:36Speaker 1: But so sticky stuff, sticky stuff things stick hold on.
- 1:42Speaker 1: This has gotta be me. I'm looking something up. Go ahead, sir.
- 1:45Speaker 2: So, So what happens, you know, like what goes through
- 1:49Speaker 2: your mind when you think about stickers.
- 1:52Speaker 3: I can't really pinpoint. I don't know exactly what it is.
- 1:55Speaker 3: It's just the thought of touching them, you know, especially
- 1:58Speaker 3: especially like if it's like if it's been already been
- 2:01Speaker 3: like half the halfway peel. It makes my skin crawl,
- 2:05Speaker 3: Like like if someone sticks one on me as a joke,
- 2:08Speaker 3: I will freak out. Dude, I will have a panic attacked.
- 2:11Speaker 2: So I'm I get no, I hate that for you.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I'm not trying to make by the way, I'm not
- 2:16Speaker 2: making fun of your phobia. I just looked it up
- 2:19Speaker 2: and the first thing that popped up is a girl
- 2:22Speaker 2: trying to peel a sticker off a banana and freaking out.
- 2:25Speaker 1: No, And there's.
- 2:26Speaker 2: An actual phobia this, it's rare. It's called oh, I
- 2:28Speaker 2: can't pronounce this, It's called pitta kean pit a keo
- 2:33Speaker 2: phobia is a rare, often debilitating fear of intense discomfort
- 2:38Speaker 2: regarding stickers, bandages, and sticky adhesive residues.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I didn't even think of band aid aids. You never
- 2:46Speaker 1: got cuts, you don't wear band aid.
- 2:48Speaker 3: I just I'll hold I'll hold like medical cloth on
- 2:52Speaker 3: there for as long as I need to. And yeah, like.
- 2:54Speaker 1: No, this is a real phobia time where I've had.
- 2:57Speaker 3: To have a band aid but I don't like it,
- 3:00Speaker 3: and peeling it off is even extra Like you know,
- 3:03Speaker 3: peeling off a band aid hurts as it is, but
- 3:06Speaker 3: it's it freaks me out even more than the usual.
- 3:09Speaker 3: I'm to the point where if I go buy clothes
- 3:11Speaker 3: and there's a sticker on it, I asked the store
- 3:13Speaker 3: clerk to like remove it for me so I can
- 3:15Speaker 3: relate to the lady with the banana.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Wow, I've never really thought about how many places there
- 3:21Speaker 2: are stickers, Like I'm.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't hats you buy a hat, there's a
- 3:26Speaker 1: sticker on it jeans my little kids jeans because that
- 3:31Speaker 1: sticker is long. Yeah, don't say that to him. Long
- 3:36Speaker 1: sticker will really freak you out. Yeah, there's really long.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I know the store clerks probably think I'm a weirdo,
- 3:42Speaker 3: but I don't care when I ask him to take
- 3:44Speaker 3: it off. Man, for me, I just wow, do it.
- 3:47Speaker 3: I can do it.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Yeah, listen, have you ever talked to somebody about this,
- 3:50Speaker 2: because I mean, it's it's an actual phobia.
- 3:52Speaker 1: You could get help. I'm sure I haven't.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Man, It's just it just sounds so stupid when I
- 3:57Speaker 3: say it, you know for sure?
- 4:02Speaker 2: So you would rather handle You'd rather handle a snake
- 4:05Speaker 2: than a sticker?
- 4:06Speaker 3: I really would, man, I'm not freaked out by snake.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Wow, unreal. He's not scared of heights either, heights whatever.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Like I have a fear of, not a phobia jumping.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Bungee jumping.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Man, I'm not scared.
- 4:19Speaker 2: So would you rather you would rather bungee jump than
- 4:22Speaker 2: peel a sticker off a pair of jeans?
- 4:25Speaker 3: Oh?
- 4:25Speaker 2: Any day?
- 4:25Speaker 3: I go bungee jumping every day if I can afford it.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Wow, that's my bit and I will not do that. Unreal.
- 4:33Speaker 2: But you don't like telling people because it makes you
- 4:35Speaker 2: sound a little you know, out there.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I sound nuts, like a psycho or something.
- 4:42Speaker 1: You sound normal, though, like you sound normal to me.
- 4:44Speaker 2: So I mean, you can't help what you're scared of,
- 4:47Speaker 2: and the phobias are real conditions, and we've learned that
- 4:49Speaker 2: from doing this because we've gotten some wild ones. This
- 4:51Speaker 2: might be the craziest one though, but it is not
- 4:54Speaker 2: saying you're crazy.
- 4:55Speaker 1: So no, I'm glad you did. I am glad you did.
- 5:00Speaker 2: I don't think I'm ever going to look at a
- 5:01Speaker 2: sticker the same way again, I know, sir.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 5:03Speaker 2: You have to deal with this and and call us
- 5:06Speaker 2: with any updates if you tell somebody can't just caine.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Well, I just like to appeel the stickers off. I
- 5:10Speaker 1: actually enjoy, Like it's satisfying, you know, to take the
- 5:13Speaker 1: sticker off the banana or the apple. In a relationship
- 5:17Speaker 1: with him, he's going to freak out. I would take
- 5:20Speaker 1: the stickers off for you. That's sweet.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Even you just now saying that you like that is
- 5:26Speaker 3: making me like, oh sorry.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Sorry, I'm sorry, sir. This is a safe place
