- 0:01SPEAKER_00: Level 4 has arrived.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: Only you can get in their way.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: Journey across the expanse of the open world sanctuary.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Flo Four.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: Available now.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: We did and premature.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: Have the banner or visit this episode's page to learn more.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: Hey guys, so I'm episode I wanted to mention that the super generous and very kind to like an offer of our stuff off.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: And it's a few over something like this.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: So go to www.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: I'm a huge, you know, kind of techie, and like I love products that involve just real technology, real innovation.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: And I think this is like the epitome of it in the skincare industry.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: So without further ado, guys uh to Melanie Simon, who is the founder of Zip.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: So welcome to the show, Melanie.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much for your time.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: Thank you for having me.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: I feel like we're having a slumber party.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: I know, right?
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: I love this.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: I can't wait.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: I have been dying for to you know record this interview because you have been called the Nikola Tesla of the beauty industry.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: You, I mean, genuinely, it's like you have so many well-deserved like references because you've created something so cool and it's so intricate.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: And I just can't wait for you to tell me how you just how did you do it?
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: And I want you to, you know, just start from wherever.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: I want to know everything.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: If you can just kind of walk us down memory lane and how you got involved with everything.
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: Okay, so I I would say I have always, thanks to my mother, been, you know, taking care of my skin.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: I was, I was always, you know, using a moisturizer.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: And I, you know, I cared about having a sunblock on at a certain stage.
- 2:58SPEAKER_02: Then I started really like at a young age, at probably like 18, 19, like really wanting really good skincare.
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: I my my mother also, I, you know, begged her instead of getting something else.
- 3:11SPEAKER_02: We had one esthetician who was really good in my small town to let me have a facial, you know, once every two months instead of a pair of shoes.
- 3:23SPEAKER_02: And it was just like this trans, it it took me somewhere else.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: And I just was so connected to it.
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: And and it was always something that I just loved.
- 3:37SPEAKER_02: And so, you know, I was on a much more straight, narrow path though.
- 3:44SPEAKER_02: I bought my first house when I was 19.
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: I, you know, I'd been working since I was 12.
- 3:49SPEAKER_02: The day I turned 16, I went into Denny's and got a job, you know, for my birthday.
- 3:55SPEAKER_02: And I got bumped up to a waitress that was like, yeah, good birthday gift.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: And you know, and so I was working, I was class president, I was, you know, and I drove to school an hour each way back and forth because I live in a lived in a small rural rural town in the mountains of California.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: And so um, you know, I just kind of I I bought a house.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: I was like, why can't I buy a house?
- 4:21SPEAKER_02: I'm 19 and and I've been working all this time and it it it costs less than most cars these days, so it wasn't, you know, anything crazy.
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: But it just gave me this like it gave me confidence that I could do it again.
- 4:38SPEAKER_02: And um, so I was I was going to school, I was majoring in communicative disorders with a minor in deaf studies and learning American Sign Language.
- 4:48SPEAKER_02: And um I was just, I had this like, I think kind of what people have gone through through through COVID, where you're just like, I'm on, I'm not doing I'm not on my path.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: And I just made this decision that if I went up to Mammoth and they hired me as a snowboard instructor, because that's a hard job to get, that I would go up there for a semester is what I told myself.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: I got the job because I also had like a background in child development.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: My mom is also an entrepreneur and has had a preschool and a daycare center.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: So I'd had all the background, you know, to help her out as a side job as well.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: And so I was like a perfect fit.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: Anyways, that turned into four years.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: And my my mom's like, what are you doing with your life?
- 5:39SPEAKER_02: I was, I was buying, continued to buy really real estate up there.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: And then um, someone told me there was an esthetician program I could drive three hours each way and go to.
- 5:50SPEAKER_02: So when I graduated, the woman was like just the meanest woman you could ever imagine ever, like no inspiration.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: They would teach us things that were wrong, and I'd raise my hand and be like, that's not actually accurate.
- 6:06SPEAKER_02: And then they'd let me like they'd let me like give a lecture to the class.
- 6:11SPEAKER_02: It was just crazy.
- 6:13SPEAKER_02: And uh yeah, finally graduated, and she said, our longest, you know, student in the history of our program is finally graduating today.
- 6:24SPEAKER_02: I knew no one that everyone who I had known had already graduated, and I was like, you know what, you you be, I'm gonna show you.
- 6:32SPEAKER_02: And uh yeah, I just at that point I sold a house and I had money to start like immediately.
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: I wanted machines.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: I wanted that was a very specific imagery in my mind, Melanie.
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: It was it was the very first thing I bought an endomology machine, which is for cellulite for the body and and also for the you know, like tightening the face.
- 6:58SPEAKER_02: And then immediately after that, I jumped into a company called Biologie Precherish, which makes the famed P50 1970.
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: Hopefully you know about it.
- 7:09SPEAKER_02: Um and then my teaching was was from them, and I I, you know, got lots of training and they're just the best.
- 7:19SPEAKER_02: There's no one that can rival them.
- 7:21SPEAKER_02: But I did continue to go around the world and and collect different machines that had different waveforms and different functions.
- 7:30SPEAKER_02: And what I found, I had to like, you know, you get a certain amount of time with people.
- 7:36SPEAKER_02: I heard you say on an interview, time is the most valuable thing that people have.
- 7:40SPEAKER_02: And so you have this amount of time with them, and you have to get whatever you're doing, better be producing results, or else you're out, especially at the level you know, I wanted to get to.
- 7:55SPEAKER_02: And electrical current, every single time, it just it it beats everything else out.
- 8:03SPEAKER_02: And so that's really where I ended up just and and I do absolutely like in all I will bring in LED 10 minutes, you know, something like that.
- 8:15SPEAKER_02: I'll bring I do a lot of lymphatic with my hands, but that's like a 10-minute thing also.
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: And and now my treatments I book their, you know, when I when I do them, they're three hour slots, and I'm getting somebody ready to, you know, go down the red carpet or go film or whatever.
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: So I have, you know, but the bulk of it is different electrical waveforms because changing them creates different outcomes.
- 8:44SPEAKER_02: So I can tweak a waveform and get like a really sculpted cheekbone, but then somebody else might not want that.
- 8:52SPEAKER_02: They might feel hollow under the cheekbone and they want to be plumped, and I can tweak the waveform to plump instead.
- 8:59SPEAKER_02: And so it just, you know.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: What's crazy, and I really love that you have even I love that your beginning thought for your product was on this level in a in a very like in the physics sense, because I think that um we do not understand all forms of you know, the energy that we're dealing with and using on a day-to-day basis, right?
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: So like we don't understand the full um idea of what a wave is for every like every single wave, we don't know.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: We haven't measured every single wave, you know, or like what it does, how it penetrates tissue, and you know, like the physics as the biophysics of it, we don't know that much about it.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: So this is this is a great place to like really think that you know, the skin, yeah, we can penetrate, you know, obviously the biological stuff, right?
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: Like serums and creams and stuff that's there, and you put it on your skin.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: But when you're dealing with waveform and you're dealing with energy and lasers and anything that's like, you know what I mean, like a different kind of delivery system, like totally, yeah.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: A different uh uh level of just matter, like you you have to really think about um you know just how that works for the skin.
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: So I love that you started on that level because that's the highest level, I think, right now in the industry, like in terms of oh yeah, you know, how to approach the skin.
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: Like, is this this kind of you know, uh science?
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I want to just say that I love you that you did that.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: I really do.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: That's yeah.
- 10:24SPEAKER_02: It it was honestly, I I was kind of like, if I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna do I'm I'm gonna do this in the best way that I think, because I'd always just been such like a skin enthusiast and like what I think an esthetician can do that's best for their skin, and that's gonna make the most difference and that's gonna make cumulative results.
- 10:52SPEAKER_02: And every single thing is electric.
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: So there are just infinite amounts of different waveforms.
- 10:58SPEAKER_02: And so what I did with zip is I I said, okay, I want from this nanocurrent range, like let's say 500 nanoamps up to 400 microamps, and I want frequencies between, you know, 20 and 200, and I want shapes between square, triangle, rectangle, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 11:22SPEAKER_02: And I want, you know, like I gave all the parameters, and then that led out to that basically box gave me 13 million different waveforms I could create within the constraints that I I asked for after when I started.
- 11:43SPEAKER_02: I, you know, I'd been doing this for almost 15 years.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: Now I'm almost 20 or 20.
- 11:51SPEAKER_02: Um, so I really did know a lot about, you know, what you know, what I needed.
- 11:58SPEAKER_02: And so I made that box, which is our circuit board, which I like to say, it's like a little iPhone inside the device.
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: It's not when you open these things up, and and I do, I open them all up.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: I I look at them and think, oh my gosh, how you know, like yeah, like what is the real mechanism?
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: Um, yeah, and then I look at ours and I think ours is so complex.
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: And um, you know, it it just it it really is to the point where how did you set your parameters?
- 12:34SPEAKER_02: So yeah, so lots and lots of research.
- 12:40SPEAKER_02: The one where I said my cliff is 400 microamps in strength, anything at 500 microamps, anything past that, you start seeing cellular death.
- 12:51SPEAKER_02: I don't want that.
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: I also knew that I I was finding papers and research that the lower the strength, actually the longer the result the results would last, the more cumulative they would be.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: You might not see them right away, like in a higher microcurrent, like a 300 microcurrent range.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: You might not see it right away.
- 13:18SPEAKER_02: You'd see it the next morning, but it would last longer.
- 13:21SPEAKER_02: And then when you continue doing it, it keeps going.
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: And that's nanocurrent.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: That's what I really was like screaming at the mountaintops to spur people to do.
- 13:32SPEAKER_02: You know, this is a really important part of how to take care of the skin.
- 13:38SPEAKER_02: You don't feel it because it's perfectly in sync with the our whole body is electric and it's run from electrical impulses that come from the brain.
- 13:48SPEAKER_02: And so the nano range is in sync with the range that's already working within the body.
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: And that's why you don't feel it, but you absolutely see amazing results when you're using nanocurrent consistently.
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: And that's one of the programs.
- 14:06SPEAKER_02: It's called Founders Favorite that we offer on the app.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: And and it's hard because people they're like, I don't feel it.
- 14:14SPEAKER_02: And it's taken time, I mean, over half a decade for me to really educate people that I don't get to talk to face to face to say this lower range is the best one for you in the long run.
- 14:29SPEAKER_02: And and all of these other ones are also absolutely amazing for you.
- 14:34SPEAKER_02: I never put out anything that is harmful to the skin.
- 14:37SPEAKER_02: It only works with the skin.
- 14:39SPEAKER_02: But the one, the, the one that's strictly nanocurrent, that's that's the one that's gonna really, really give you, you know, these results that they're they're pretty amazing.
- 14:53SPEAKER_02: When people are consistent, they do it three times a week and they just stay on that train.
- 14:59SPEAKER_02: It's it's amazing what happens and they don't feel it at all.
- 15:02SPEAKER_02: They might feel like an aura of electricity, but not like my program, instant gratification, where you can really feel things being activated.
- 15:14SPEAKER_02: It's a deeper waveform, it's grabbing the muscle, it's sculpting the muscle.
- 15:19SPEAKER_02: You know, they all do different things.
- 15:21SPEAKER_01: And it's that's what I was just gonna, I was just going to mention that was this idea of like when we learn, like in I know in like science majors, you learn about like, you know, basic stuff, like physics and stuff, and low amplitude waves versus higher amplitude waves and the distance that they can travel.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: And I think that's a really interesting point because um, you know, if you think about how dense or how thick the actual layer of skin is that we're you really trying to target, which is where all the wrinkles are, where all the you know concerns really come from.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: And even if we consider the fascia, you know, that is underneath, which I just talked to Dr.
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: Um Amir Karam, and we were talking very extensively about the how people have facial droop because the fascia is drooping.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 16:08SPEAKER_01: Those muscle, like it if say you are trying to get to that layer, right?
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: It's very thin if you think about it.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: And so that it makes sense what Melanie is saying about low amplitude waves working better in the long run because you're actually gently treating your skin and doing what it needs, just what it needs.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: You're not overdoing it.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: Because anytime you overdo something or go too deep, it's like a surgeon, right?
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: You don't want to cut too deep.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: So it's like this, yeah, yeah.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 16:36SPEAKER_02: And so here's here's the kicker.
- 16:38SPEAKER_02: I was when when we were first getting ready to launch zip, I was just a mess.
- 16:46SPEAKER_02: You know, my partner's like Mel, okay, what's gonna be your final treatment?
- 16:52SPEAKER_02: And I had already made a hundred, you know, like close to a hundred treatments, and I just could not, you know, and I had my winners of each segment.
- 17:01SPEAKER_02: Now I just and he said, you know, we could make this so that the app can change the device if we push off our launch for three months, and we were like, let's do it.
- 17:15SPEAKER_02: And so, you know, I didn't have to then be be constricted to just give a nanocurrent program.
- 17:25SPEAKER_02: I could also give a program that's gonna actually work on the muscle that's a different type of wave, and mainly it's the shape that you know, if if it's a if it's a deep rectangle, it's gonna get deeper and grab that muscle.
- 17:42SPEAKER_02: Where if it's more shallow, it stays up higher and it works on those, you know, kind of like crow's feet, fine lines.
- 17:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and that makes sense.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: The structure of the whole muscles.
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: It makes sense, yeah.
- 17:54SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 17:55SPEAKER_02: A waveform has there are so many, there are, you know, about five characteristics that go into making up a waveform.
- 18:03SPEAKER_02: And some of my treatments have four waveforms, different waveforms in one treatment.
- 18:08SPEAKER_02: You don't know this because you just click the result you want, and then a video of me doing it pops up with you, and we do it together second for second from start to finish, and there is no way for you to get lost.
- 18:23SPEAKER_02: And I'm talking to you the whole time and explaining what's happening and explaining why we're doing what we're doing and showing you the technique, and it's just really, really easy.
- 18:37SPEAKER_02: And and I took from all my machines because when I come in and and pile up all my machines, it looks like you know, I'm about to perform a surgery.
- 18:47SPEAKER_02: And I have to look at all these different machines for feedback to know whether my clients are getting the current they're supposed to be getting.
- 18:56SPEAKER_02: Some give it to me by sound, some give it to me with a light, some give it to me with uh, you know, a timer.
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: Some there's always different things that are happening that I'm I'm looking back to make sure constantly that it's working.
- 19:10SPEAKER_02: And so I had to build that feedback into the device so that people know, okay, I'm gonna click this on.
- 19:19SPEAKER_02: Now it's not gonna start until it's making a circuit through my skin.
- 19:24SPEAKER_02: So it will not start until you set it down both probes to your skin.
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: And then you do the first stroke in the program.
- 19:32SPEAKER_02: And once the first stroke's completed, there's a vibration in the device to let you know, okay, now it's time to do another one.
- 19:40SPEAKER_02: And you're watching the video, and I'm in sync with you.
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: And you can see I'll say, okay, there's the vibration.
- 19:46SPEAKER_02: All right, now we're gonna move over a little bit.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: And then so it just there's, you know, there's and there's a light that's illuminated.
- 19:54SPEAKER_02: So you know you've got connectivity and the vibrations going at the same time, and those two are linked together.
- 20:01SPEAKER_02: So you can't you can't just like go through a whole facial and and think you've done it and not done it, because you would know within the first, you know, yeah, at the most 10 seconds.
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: I mean, I that's I mean, that's you know, comes with the territory too of the technology and the science.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: It's just a more, you know, not only is it it's working, you know, I think in a much more I I would say more optimized way, you know, uh if you think about how you would want your skin to be dealt with, but it's also working much faster.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: So the efficiency is like, you know, off the charts.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: Like it's just, you know, it's it that's the next wave, I mean, no pun intended, but of real beauty is this next level thinking you know, about different energy forms and that what are radio frequencies and what is the right amplitude and the right area or you know, the the parameters for certain skin conditions, right?
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: It's like figuring out all the data, like exactly.
- 21:02SPEAKER_02: And and like you said, radio frequency is something totally different from electrical current, but they can be used in conjunction.
- 21:11SPEAKER_02: And you, I mean, there's so much, but 100% I agree with you.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: That's where it's going because if you think about it, it's actually getting down to the dermis where the skin is alive, that you know, the the epidermis is is dead, and there's nothing wrong with that because our hair is dead, our fingernails are dead, our eyelashes are dead, and we still want them to look pretty.
- 21:38SPEAKER_02: And so you want to treat it properly with good skincare to make it look great.
- 21:43SPEAKER_02: But with this, you're going down to the living level, and it just I mean, it just like shines through so immediately.
- 21:54SPEAKER_02: It's it's just pretty amazing.
- 21:56SPEAKER_01: That's phenomenal.
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's a really, really Giant like leap for the beauty industry, what you've done.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: I mean, really, because at the end of the day, um, tell me, you know, I I have not seen a product that is a competitor for zip.
- 22:11SPEAKER_01: I haven't seen it.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: Oh no, no.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: We know what I mean.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: There's no way.
- 22:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you were the first beauty device.
- 22:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:17SPEAKER_02: And and people are now like, we were the first to to bring app connectivity to the to the beauty industry at all.
- 22:26SPEAKER_02: Um, but now, you know, people are definitely like starting to have apps that they're very kind of um elementary, like you can turn, you can, you can have a three-minute program or a five-minute program, that kind of stuff.
- 22:43SPEAKER_02: Where with my app, I have there's 14 treatments on the app.
- 22:48SPEAKER_02: So there's seven full facial treatments and seven targeted treatments.
- 22:53SPEAKER_02: Like, you know, if you got a full facial treatment and you wanted to add on a boost or you wanted to go over your jowls and really focus on the jowls, you could hit the jowls program.
- 23:03SPEAKER_02: Or um, you know, if you wanted to really contour the jaw, you could then contour, and those are all under three minutes.
- 23:11SPEAKER_02: And then we also offer plans.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: So if you want to have a plan, because people are always asking me, what should I be doing?
- 23:20SPEAKER_02: I have a wedding coming up, I have this, I have that, you know, like what's best for me.
- 23:24SPEAKER_02: And so I put together treatment plans that people can go and choose from.
- 23:30SPEAKER_02: And and then basically your zip will walk you right through it.
- 23:35SPEAKER_02: You click on a treatment plan, you can view the whole plan.
- 23:39SPEAKER_02: So if it's a 12-day plan, a 30-day plan, a seven-day plan, you can see exactly what's gonna happen.
- 23:47SPEAKER_02: And then when you come back to your app, it basically prompts you to say right at the top on the big carousel, next treatment on your treatment plan.
- 23:56SPEAKER_02: So you don't even have to think about it, and it lets you because really it is very good to get to get a lot of different waveforms.
- 24:08SPEAKER_02: Nano is the best, absolutely, for the long term, but getting others, other waveforms in there, and as I said, I I'm I'm I'm the queen of keeping it working with the body and not being too aggressive, not going too much, but getting other different waveforms in there that do other things that stimulate other things, you just get this whole big picture.
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: Well, that's how the body works, that's how the body, you know, you've really mastered this concept of that the body is electric, there's electricity constantly moving through your body.
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: That's what's causing all this.
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: You're like you said, so you're right in the sense of you can't have just one because it's like you know, that's just not how the body the body doesn't do one thing at a time.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: You've got about 90 million things happening right now as we speak on the electrical level, you know what I mean?
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: So it's like that makes sense, it fits into the normal environment of the tissues and it fits into the normal.
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: So I I love that.
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: I love that you've even thought about that.
- 25:11SPEAKER_02: That's really and what people want.
- 25:14SPEAKER_02: It's like we wake up, we're evolving, we look in the mirror, we think, oh, I'm puffy, uh oh, I feel gaunt.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: Oh, I'm dehydrated, oh I need a lift, oh I, you know, I really feel like I feel wrinkly, oh, I'm sagging, like whatever that is, it's so satisfying to be able to take the take this into your own hands, not have to go anywhere, press a button, do a treatment, and see see an immediate result and feel better about that.
- 25:51SPEAKER_02: It's it's just, I mean, that to me is extraordinary.
- 25:56SPEAKER_02: And I still to this day am like, you know, in awe of that.
- 26:01SPEAKER_02: And I mean, it's even come down to, you know, one time I was prepping someone for the golden globes and things were running late.
- 26:09SPEAKER_02: And like I said, I usually come in, I've got 10 machines, I've got, and I'll use like one thing from each machine because I don't ever copy people's technology.
- 26:19SPEAKER_02: I don't believe in that.
- 26:20SPEAKER_02: So even though I could make their waveform, I don't.
- 26:23SPEAKER_02: I I still lug around their device and use it for the waveform they came up with.
- 26:29SPEAKER_02: But um I remember she said, hey, as long as you have the biologique machine and and your zip with with your new treatments on it, which are now available to everybody.
- 26:43SPEAKER_02: She's like, we're fine.
- 26:44SPEAKER_02: Do you have that?
- 26:45SPEAKER_02: And I was like, yeah.
- 26:46SPEAKER_02: She's like, especially that treatment on the zip.
- 26:48SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, yeah.
- 26:50SPEAKER_02: And she's like, okay, we're good.
- 26:52SPEAKER_02: And um, you know, this was someone nominated.
- 26:56SPEAKER_02: So it was, it was, it was like a big deal.
- 26:58SPEAKER_02: And I thought it was most important to her that I had the zip with me versus, you know,$200,000 in equipment behind me.
- 27:07SPEAKER_02: You know, like that's what she sees the most result from.
- 27:12SPEAKER_02: Um yeah, that's huge.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's huge.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: And it's like, you know, to become a product um, you know, in someone's routine that is absolutely irreplaceable, that's huge.
- 27:25SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's not just saying, like, okay, yeah, you like our product or okay, you use it once in a while.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: That's saying, no, you've really understood that this product does what you want it to do.
- 27:37SPEAKER_01: And that's huge.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: And I think that, you know, because you approached it on such a different level than I think most skincare or beauty products are really looking at.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's a different world, you know.
- 27:47SPEAKER_02: They're I think the reason for that is that they have not been in what I call the beautiful trenches that I've been in.
- 27:55SPEAKER_02: I, you know, I've I've, you know, I my first practice was in Montecito, California.
- 28:02SPEAKER_02: And then I had a practice in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for a decade.
- 28:06SPEAKER_02: And I still go back and forth there, and Hollywood, of course.
- 28:10SPEAKER_02: So it's very different types of people, and just seeing what different climates, different age groups, different all of these different um variables, what how that contributes to what that person needs and really knowing how to deliver the right waveform.
- 28:34SPEAKER_02: You can't just kind of be in in an office and figure that out.
- 28:39SPEAKER_02: I mean, it it took me, you know, it took me, like I said, a decade and a half to feel like I am, I feel like I've mastered this.
- 28:50SPEAKER_02: Of course, there's always room to grow, and that's why it's gotten even better with the newest update through the the five years it's been on the market.
- 29:00SPEAKER_02: I learned so much, but you know, you have to be doing it to know, like, oh, whoa, that doesn't work on people in Hollywood that are highly stressed, they're really prone to breakout, they're really, you know, like, or people that are in a really dry climate and are a little bit of an older age, age demographic, like they need this, and just all the things, there's no way to know it unless you really, really did it with your own hands day in and day out.
- 29:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:30SPEAKER_01: No, I get that.
- 29:31SPEAKER_01: And it's just, you know, I think like it's very interesting to me, like, you know, on what like how long products last in a market.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: Okay, do you it's so I I really want to talk to you about that specifically, and that's a topic I've been waiting because you have created something that's going to take a very long time for the industry to top or even come up, come to that same bar because this is this is still the same device for six years, and the thing is going to compete with it.
- 30:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's a beauty software device.
- 30:03SPEAKER_02: So we we started with just four treatments that we launched with, and then that grew to 10 over the years, and then we just refreshed the app.
- 30:13SPEAKER_02: And now, as I said, there's the 14, and we added the four treatment plans, and now, of course, more will be coming.
- 30:21SPEAKER_02: Um, and so we can just keep making it better and better and better, and you just update, you don't have to go and buy a new one.
- 30:33SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 30:34SPEAKER_01: That's so freaking it's brilliant.
- 30:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you just you found like you made a device, and this is where engineering like just does not get enough credit.
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: People just, you know, you gotta think in in so many directions to create something that's genuinely irresp irreplaceable in the entire industry.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, you the engineering and the and the thought of even making it so it's an actual machine that can be controlled by more waves to do what it's supposed to do in different ways.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 31:06SPEAKER_01: So it's like it's it's a very like it's like you're keeping things extremely high tech level, you know what I mean, and you're still you're not it's like you know, you're you're not lowering the bar of the skincare industry, is my point.
- 31:19SPEAKER_02: You're not like and let me tell you what, it was it was a nightmare in the beginning because I I mean I was really I was really keyed into this industry.
- 31:32SPEAKER_02: So I knew the engineers that were making machines and I knew the people to talk to, and I but I knew I wasn't gonna make an antiquated machine that was gonna, you know, just sit sit under the vanity or in the bathroom drawer and never get used.
- 31:46SPEAKER_02: I was not doing that.
- 31:47SPEAKER_02: I I I had no, I did not want to do it.
- 31:50SPEAKER_02: I had like these futuristic ideas about what I wanted, and everybody I talked to just said, oh, we can make you kind of the same old, same old.
- 32:02SPEAKER_02: And I was literally crying to my best friend about it.
- 32:06SPEAKER_02: We've been best friends since preschool.
- 32:09SPEAKER_02: And she goes, talk to talk to Dave, her little brother, who I have memories of in diapers.
- 32:14SPEAKER_02: And he is in the tech world.
- 32:16SPEAKER_02: So he's in the Bay Area, you know, director at Salesforce, but had a mechanical engineer, product development, had a background, you know, building secret things for the government, mechanical cars, everything you could imagine put together in one.
- 32:32SPEAKER_02: Like, you know, the cloud computing customer experience, all of the mechanical engineering, all of the product design.
- 32:39SPEAKER_02: I was like, there's no way he's gonna do this.
- 32:42SPEAKER_02: And she said, he's he he wants to be an entrepreneur.
- 32:46SPEAKER_02: He's crazy.
- 32:47SPEAKER_02: He wants to do it on weekends and nights and call him, you know.
- 32:50SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I'm not gonna call him and get let down easy by someone who thinks of me as a big sister about, you know, my beauty idea.
- 32:58SPEAKER_02: And he called me, that's just the guy he is, and he's like, tell me about your idea, and you know, and I'm telling him, and he starts saying, Well, you could do this and you could do that, and you could make that happen by doing this and that and that.
- 33:10SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, Hallelujah.
- 33:13SPEAKER_02: I was like, Do you really want to join this club?
- 33:16SPEAKER_02: Because I'm gonna tell you being an entrepreneur is brutal.
- 33:20SPEAKER_02: And he's like, I want to do this so much.
- 33:22SPEAKER_02: He's like, we'll work it, you know, for you know, after hours on the on the weekdays and on the weekends, which we did, and you know, because we weren't paying ourselves, we didn't pay ourselves for years.
- 33:34SPEAKER_02: And it was the really the two of us together.
- 33:38SPEAKER_02: I make all the all of the treatments, I do all the videos, all of that like interaction, but he makes sure what I make is gonna get to the customer seamlessly and effortlessly.
- 33:52SPEAKER_02: So it it was really getting out of this this same arena and going going to the tech arena and finding someone who would be willing to just, you know, uh on their time off do this with me.
- 34:07SPEAKER_02: And then we just you, you know, we did it.
- 34:10SPEAKER_02: We had like engineering meetings at nine o'clock on Fridays.
- 34:14SPEAKER_02: It was crazy.
- 34:15SPEAKER_01: That's I mean, you got you did it right though, you know.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: Damn, like yeah, we oh yeah, did it though, you know, and that's what matters, and that's what the lesson here really is for like entrepreneurs who want to come into the business.
- 34:27SPEAKER_01: Listen, dude, don't create something that's redundant.
- 34:31SPEAKER_01: Please don't.
- 34:32SPEAKER_01: Like you can if you can do better, please do better and put in the time and do that extra work.
- 34:37SPEAKER_01: Because I mean, look at what Melanie has created.
- 34:40SPEAKER_01: Like this is literally a it's like the next, next, next step, you know, in over-the-counter things that can really generally change the skin and alter skin in a in a more meaningful way than you know anything else.
- 34:53SPEAKER_01: So I think that you know, that's something that you know, if you're gonna take away anything as an entrepreneur, like that's what you should really strive for at all times.
- 35:01SPEAKER_01: Is how is this different, you know?
- 35:04SPEAKER_02: 100%.
- 35:05SPEAKER_02: Because there is so, especially right now, there is so much noise.
- 35:11SPEAKER_02: It's it's insane.
- 35:13SPEAKER_02: And people just don't know what to trust.
- 35:17SPEAKER_02: Nothing, nothing is real, nothing is everybody's bought out at the end of the day.
- 35:23SPEAKER_02: It's like, you know, and that's something I'm known for.
- 35:27SPEAKER_02: I just I've had offers to, you know, consult for companies and I'm like, I don't like their products.
- 35:34SPEAKER_02: And I I it would have been a big paycheck for me that would have made my life a lot easier, and I just wouldn't do it.
- 35:40SPEAKER_02: I I won't recommend a product if I don't personally really like the product, I just won't do it.
- 35:48SPEAKER_02: And so I get a little boring about the things that I recommend because it's gotta be great.
- 35:53SPEAKER_02: And that's just I just stick to my guns on that because people trust what I what I say and they're using they're spending their hard-earned money on the things that I recommend.
- 36:08SPEAKER_02: And I, you know, I'm not gonna, I just and and that's the way also we work with with people that are recommending zips.
- 36:16SPEAKER_02: It's we always go to people that are that are zip fans already, you know, they've already been using it organically.
- 36:23SPEAKER_02: We've gotten so much just organic.
- 36:28SPEAKER_01: Like promoted.
- 36:30SPEAKER_01: That's the one thing I said.
- 36:31SPEAKER_01: Like when I first reached out to your team, I'm not even kidding.
- 36:34SPEAKER_01: It's like she doesn't need to go on any podcast, she doesn't need to go into onto any media because what she's done is enough, it speaks more enough for itself than anybody could, you know what I mean?
- 36:44SPEAKER_01: It's like it's obviously something that we should all should want if you're really a beauty, like you know, you're a beauty enthusiast, or you just like using things that work and you love technology.
- 36:54SPEAKER_01: So it's like for me.
- 36:55SPEAKER_02: You know what I think it is though?
- 36:57SPEAKER_02: I think it's hard for people, there's an educational hump that we have to get over, and people like you that can break it down in a way that it makes sense to your viewers, it your listeners, because you know you you know your audience.
- 37:16SPEAKER_02: That that is why, for me, as I was saying I earlier to you personally, I love podcasts.
- 37:23SPEAKER_02: I love I love any opportunity to to you know just to educate so people know what it actually is.
- 37:31SPEAKER_02: Because in the tool department, people walk into them and I've watched this happen, and they don't know the difference between, you know, a Ferreo cleansing device and and a zip, let's say, you know, like going from the beginning to the end in terms of technology, they they don't know because there's a whole education situation there.
- 37:56SPEAKER_02: And like you said, time is the most important commodity, and people you've got to break it down in a way that it's like, okay, I got it.
- 38:05SPEAKER_02: Like I see what this is doing for me.
- 38:08SPEAKER_02: And the real science behind it, this is the science, this is it.
- 38:14SPEAKER_02: And and you can, you know, convert this into how how you think it makes the best sense.
- 38:21SPEAKER_01: But Melanie, honestly, going off your point though, like it I completely agree, and it's brilliant what you said because people want to make science this like you know, unclimbable, unfathomable thing to like fully understand about a certain area, especially like dermatology, you know, people get overwhelmed.
- 38:38SPEAKER_01: And I'm sitting here and I'm like, science is based off simplicity.
- 38:43SPEAKER_01: So if it's based off simplicity, it's going to be simple to understand if you just want to understand it.
- 38:49SPEAKER_01: So you you really can understand the science.
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: You just have to really want to understand the science because you have to really be curious.
- 38:56SPEAKER_01: And I think it's not about, you know, and that's where I think like a lot of the education now, like with influencers that I see, that's why I get so irritated about just seeing like video, video, video, video everywhere, right?
- 39:08SPEAKER_01: Because it's like that is one mode of learning.
- 39:11SPEAKER_01: What about the people that learn through audio?
- 39:14SPEAKER_01: And it's playing in the back of their, you know what I mean?
- 39:16SPEAKER_01: It's playing in the back and they but they're still listening, right?
- 39:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 39:19SPEAKER_01: That's what they learn.
- 39:20SPEAKER_01: And I feel like that, you know, this is very similar to like, you know, I think what you've done here is you've you've found another way to like please a consumer who really does want good skincare products, but they don't want any EBS.
- 39:35SPEAKER_01: They just want something that works.
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: And it's like done that.
- 39:39SPEAKER_01: And it's like once I don't know.
- 39:41SPEAKER_01: I just think it's a it's a huge deal.
- 39:43SPEAKER_01: And you gotta be certain, you know, you have a certain mindset, I think, that you know, that the industry really is missing, if you know what I mean.
- 39:51SPEAKER_01: So I don't know.
- 39:51SPEAKER_01: I but so yeah, I'm huge kudos, but I just want to say, you know, like for me, I think the biggest thing when I first saw it as a consumer zip, like I wanted to know, you know, how genuinely my question to you in my mind was like, how is she gonna make people stick to this product?
- 40:09SPEAKER_01: Because I saw what you were trying to do, like as a just as an you know what I mean, to be enthusiast, but I was like, I'm really curious how she's gonna come up with like you know, this idea of a routine and to stick to a routine and like how to really get that out there and consumers are listening.
- 40:24SPEAKER_01: So, can you talk to us a little bit about that?
- 40:26SPEAKER_01: Like, how often should people be using zip?
- 40:29SPEAKER_02: You know, what is the best way strategy that you've you know learned part of what has just been updated on all the zips, the plans are a really good way to keep people motivated and to continue using their zip.
- 40:48SPEAKER_02: And as soon as you finish a plan, like let's say you're doing event prep and that's over on day seven um or day six, and then you then you want to do best skin of my life in 30 days.
- 41:01SPEAKER_02: You go right into that plan.
- 41:03SPEAKER_02: You can, you know, you can stay and you can stay on best skin of my life for thirty in 30 days, you can stay on that plan for four months.
- 41:12SPEAKER_02: And of course, there will be more plans coming out, but the plans have been, you know, something we've been working on for for a long time because I always noticed with my clientele when I gave them a plan and a routine, most of them would follow it.
- 41:31SPEAKER_02: Most of them would follow the routine, they would do the the products exactly.
- 41:35SPEAKER_02: And BLEGIC is a complicated product line.
- 41:38SPEAKER_02: So they'd come in, they'd get their facial, I'd tell them exactly what they need to be doing with their products, and then I'd see them again, you know, fairly quickly.
- 41:46SPEAKER_02: But um they followed along.
- 41:50SPEAKER_02: And that's you, you need that, you need the change up, and you need to know exactly like how many days apart, and you need to know what treatments can I put together and all of that if you want to stay active in it.
- 42:07SPEAKER_02: And the plans are really a great way to do it.
- 42:11SPEAKER_02: The other is to pick a favorite treatment, and if you just want to do one treatment or one treatment with one add-on, do that two to three times a week and do not stop.
- 42:26SPEAKER_02: Just make that your routine and you will see the difference.
- 42:32SPEAKER_02: And I can't tell you how many times people say, Oh, I fell off the wagon, I started again, my skin looks amazing.
- 42:39SPEAKER_02: It's okay if people fall off the wagon, but then you just got to get right back on the like run up to the wagon and jump back on.
- 42:46SPEAKER_02: Like, don't just let it ride off into the sunset, you know what I mean?
- 42:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely.
- 42:51SPEAKER_01: And I also wonder is like, you know, what the true additive effects of this kind of treatment are because they must be great.
- 42:57SPEAKER_01: I mean, you know, if your fit is changing for the better, I mean, you're gonna start seeing this data, right?
- 43:02SPEAKER_01: Of people, uh, do you guys do any kind of like if the consumer wants they can have their data like tracked, like when they did what in the app?
- 43:09SPEAKER_01: Like, would you do that?
- 43:10SPEAKER_01: And then do you like are you able to analyze that at all?
- 43:14SPEAKER_02: Or yeah, so there's a lot that we're able to analyze, and then there's a lot that is coming that will be even more complex with the app.
- 43:23SPEAKER_02: But one thing I do want to say to you, um, in terms of microcurrent in the skin consistently, I was lucky that I was this was another thing that helped really helped me to learn that people, you know, you need to do things regularly.
- 43:41SPEAKER_02: I was in Montecito and Hollywood and Jackson Hole, where I had clients that could have a facial every 10 days.
- 43:49SPEAKER_02: Like that wasn't it, it didn't the cost wasn't an issue.
- 43:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:55SPEAKER_02: And when I saw what was happening to people who were getting The current in their skin that often, it was just mind-blowing.
- 44:05SPEAKER_02: And I always, always knew because of the science, if I could have a handheld home device, it could be taken to a whole nother level.
- 44:14SPEAKER_02: And here's why.
- 44:15SPEAKER_02: This is just the straight up science behind it.
- 44:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 44:19SPEAKER_02: When you do low-level electrical current, so low levels of microcurrent and nanocurrent, and you put it into your skin.
- 44:27SPEAKER_02: So that's all the treatments on the zip app, it stimulates your ATP.
- 44:33SPEAKER_02: And ATP is something that every living organism has to have to live because it converts everything that comes into the body into something that's usable for the body.
- 44:45SPEAKER_02: It's like they call it the molecular currency.
- 44:48SPEAKER_02: It's kind of like an ATM machine.
- 44:50SPEAKER_02: So if I want to drink uh collagen water and I want my skin to make collagen, it's ATP has to make that conversion, right?
- 45:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 45:01SPEAKER_02: As we age, ATP declines.
- 45:04SPEAKER_02: And that's that is really the biggest aging story and of of life and death.
- 45:09SPEAKER_02: As ATP is gone, we're gone.
- 45:12SPEAKER_01: I totally do it.
- 45:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it is.
- 45:13SPEAKER_01: It's energy.
- 45:14SPEAKER_01: And that right there is your body's version of, by the way, one form of electricity is ATP.
- 45:19SPEAKER_01: So that's yeah.
- 45:20SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 45:21SPEAKER_02: And so when you do, when you use zip, you're getting an ATP spike.
- 45:27SPEAKER_02: Now your skin's gonna look great, but we can't store ATP.
- 45:32SPEAKER_02: Nothing can store ATP.
- 45:34SPEAKER_02: So after let's say three days, it's coming out of the system.
- 45:38SPEAKER_02: You do your treatment again, boom, you spike the ATP.
- 45:43SPEAKER_02: Three days go by, you do it again, boom, spike the ATP.
- 45:46SPEAKER_02: You're keeping your ATP up at this higher level because it started to decline.
- 45:52SPEAKER_02: And and you can literally, I had, you know, as I said, I had clients as I that I mean, honestly, I had very few clients that have ever left me.
- 46:02SPEAKER_02: It was like a move or something like that.
- 46:05SPEAKER_02: They were lifelong friends and and clients of mine.
- 46:09SPEAKER_02: And the ones that I had from the very beginning, their skin did not age the way their friends did.
- 46:16SPEAKER_02: It was crazy at about the 10-year mark to look around and see how they how much different all of my clients looked from their friends.
- 46:27SPEAKER_02: I mean, in a when I started when I started, I didn't even have a business card.
- 46:33SPEAKER_02: My phone number wasn't in the phone book because we used to use phone books back then.
- 46:38SPEAKER_02: It wasn't listed anywhere.
- 46:40SPEAKER_02: It was just word of mouth.
- 46:41SPEAKER_02: People would would say, like, how can your skin look this good?
- 46:45SPEAKER_02: How can your skin look this good?
- 46:47SPEAKER_02: And it was all referrals from clients.
- 46:49SPEAKER_02: And it just it I saw it.
- 46:52SPEAKER_02: It was just the proof was was right there in front of me.
- 46:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 46:56SPEAKER_01: No, I mean that's a whole different, you know, level of like scientific validation.
- 47:01SPEAKER_01: You know, it's just it's a yeah, it's a whole different thing.
- 47:04SPEAKER_01: And that's that's why I say, you know, I think there are, you know, I'm not gonna lie to you, um, Elnie, when I first started um interviewing more science uh related topics on care skincare anarchy, I was getting worried that it was gonna turn into this very boring, you know what I mean?
- 47:20SPEAKER_01: Like just just like just regurgitating.
- 47:24SPEAKER_01: But it's like I just want people to understand that science is really cool, you guys.
- 47:29SPEAKER_01: And like this stuff is like this is real stuff, this is awesome.
- 47:33SPEAKER_01: Like, look at what's real, it's not marketing.
- 47:36SPEAKER_02: It's like, do you want marketing?
- 47:37SPEAKER_02: Because that's totally made up.
- 47:39SPEAKER_02: You can pull anything out of your, you know what, and make an ad and say whatever you want, and you know, you're the best thing ever.
- 47:48SPEAKER_02: Or we can look at the real science, and then you know what's actually happening.
- 47:54SPEAKER_02: So, which one do you want?
- 47:55SPEAKER_02: Do you want the daydream or do you want the reality?
- 47:59SPEAKER_01: You know, exactly, exactly.
- 48:01SPEAKER_01: No, I absolutely agree with you, and I think you know, it's it's really up to the consumers, you know.
- 48:07SPEAKER_01: I we have this, I had this conversation like odd nauseum on my podcast about you know who's responsible and blah blah blah.
- 48:14SPEAKER_01: It's your responsibility if you want to live a healthier life.
- 48:16SPEAKER_02: If you want to sadly, it's your responsibility right now because there is it's like we live in a corrupt world, and yeah, the dollar talks, and it's yeah, I mean, there's just so many ways for people to make money on on building a dream that but the product isn't the dream.
- 48:41SPEAKER_02: Do you know what I mean?
- 48:42SPEAKER_02: You actually you look at the you you you go and look at the label and you're like, but wait, that special ingredient you said that you um developed, it's not in the product.
- 48:54SPEAKER_02: And they're like, no, well, we made something that was kind of like it.
- 48:58SPEAKER_02: And I said, squalene, that's like one of the most basic skincare ingredients.
- 49:02SPEAKER_02: So what is it?
- 49:04SPEAKER_02: You know, and but nobody knows that because they they don't know the science behind behind it to make an educated guess.
- 49:12SPEAKER_01: Where like also about knowing, understanding science itself, too, right?
- 49:17SPEAKER_01: It's like the scientific method, just to add to what you said.
- 49:20SPEAKER_01: It's like they don't know the science, and they also don't know about the scientific method.
- 49:25SPEAKER_01: So it's like if you're not doing anything like the way scientists do it, you need to reevaluate what you're doing in the realm of anything that has to do with science because there's a methodology to our way of working, okay?
- 49:37SPEAKER_01: You gotta collect all the data, okay?
- 49:40SPEAKER_01: You gotta you have to have a solid plan that's a novel idea, you know what I mean?
- 49:44SPEAKER_01: And it's like you gotta make sure that the variables you're using and like marketing or whatever you're saying is the main product, it has to be there, you know?
- 49:53SPEAKER_01: Like you can't get away with it, dude.
- 49:56SPEAKER_01: Like if you have a real product, then where's the product?
- 49:59SPEAKER_01: Ask yourself every step of the way, where's my product in all of this?
- 50:03SPEAKER_01: What am I delivering?
- 50:04SPEAKER_01: And that's what people don't do, Melanie.
- 50:06SPEAKER_01: No one does that.
- 50:06SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 50:07SPEAKER_01: Because the design phase, when we're going through that, we don't like, you know what I mean, it reflect enough, like self-reflection, right?
- 50:14SPEAKER_01: It's like figuring out as an entrepreneur, what do you resonate with?
- 50:18SPEAKER_01: What are your things that you're most interested in?
- 50:21SPEAKER_01: Why you're doing that's why, like honestly, I can honestly say without like any hesitation that every person I invite onto the show, like it is somebody I know and I believe in, and I believe in their vision because they've got a real reason for it.
- 50:34SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 50:35SPEAKER_01: So it's like I really value that reasoning and that visionary mindset.
- 50:40SPEAKER_01: And so that's on, I just wanted to say that because it's like, you know, what you've created is just such a beautiful example of when you stay true to that aspect of being human, you create beautiful things, and it's like, you know, why wouldn't you if you could, right?
- 50:55SPEAKER_01: So it's yeah, I I I love it.
- 50:57SPEAKER_01: I love what you've done.
- 50:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I think it's also like not just I want to start my own business.
- 51:03SPEAKER_02: It's gotta be like, I love pet rocks, and I'm gonna make the best pet rock ever, and it's gonna walk, you know, like if only my pet rock could have walked.
- 51:16SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 51:17SPEAKER_02: Like something that you just love in your life that you just and you had always wished somebody would have made it better and and it could have done more.
- 51:26SPEAKER_02: Like that is what where it should come from.
- 51:29SPEAKER_02: Like a love that you have.
- 51:31SPEAKER_02: This is something that I love.
- 51:34SPEAKER_02: And and like, you know, I just that that love and adoration for the thing itself, that's so important because it keeps you from betraying the product.
- 51:51SPEAKER_02: It really does.
- 51:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it does, and yourself as a person as a life, as a life.
- 51:57SPEAKER_01: Like, what are you gonna do for the rest of your life?
- 51:59SPEAKER_01: This, right?
- 52:00SPEAKER_02: More importantly, your customers, people who spent money on your product that believed in you.
- 52:05SPEAKER_02: Like it just, you know, I I get the most amazing, and my whole team, we all do, we get the most amazing testimonials, and people write in these, these, you know, letters to me that like literally tear me up all the time about how uh lot a lot of them come from a husband.
- 52:29SPEAKER_02: The the best one was from a husband, and he said, To the lady who talks to my wife in the bathroom at night.
- 52:36SPEAKER_02: I just want to thank you for making her feel so much better.
- 52:41SPEAKER_02: Her skin looks amazing.
- 52:43SPEAKER_02: You know, it's really turned our our our whole world around.
- 52:49SPEAKER_02: And who could have thought a beauty product could do something like that?
- 52:53SPEAKER_02: And you know, there are there are letters like that and testimonials like that that come in all the time.
- 53:01SPEAKER_02: People who say, I haven't looked in the mirror in four years.
- 53:04SPEAKER_02: I bought your product, and after a month of using it, I put mirrors back in my house again, you know, things like that.
- 53:10SPEAKER_02: And I'm just I kind of think, you know, that's that's as good as it can get for me.
- 53:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 53:19SPEAKER_01: No, I I completely, I don't know.
- 53:22SPEAKER_01: I just I can't imagine just, you know, creating something that well, you know, it would it must be very exhilarating, is what I'm really trying to say.
- 53:30SPEAKER_01: You know, it's I think when you create something that's so like you know, you've observed some a phenomena and you've brought it to, you know, a different level of understanding, and now you are able to give that to people, it's a whole different feeling.
- 53:43SPEAKER_01: And I just I you know, I'm so happy for you, just as a person and a human that you've been able to do that and to go on that journey because I think it really, you know, it's a it's a beautiful perspective to come to, right?
- 53:56SPEAKER_01: And and to and to be able to create something like that.
- 53:58SPEAKER_01: So, you know, I just uh I really, really respect you.
- 54:02SPEAKER_01: And I think what you've made is it's brilliant.
- 54:04SPEAKER_01: It's brilliant.
- 54:04SPEAKER_01: And I that that comes from you know a lot of hard work.
- 54:08SPEAKER_01: So yeah, yeah.
- 54:09SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much for you know just being on the show, being it being open-minded and talking and just being normal, like being a normal person.
- 54:17SPEAKER_02: I am I am you know I'm too normal sometimes.
- 54:20SPEAKER_02: People like that's the best thing down, don't say that out loud.
- 54:25SPEAKER_02: We gotta watch her.
