- 0:15How are we to view the Jewish people?

- 0:27The Destiny of Israel.
- 0:32Welcome to the Daily Audio Torah. Today is July 28th.
- 0:37Now let's continue our journey reading through the entire Bible in
- 0:41one year. This week we are reading from the Israel Bible for the Old Testament
- 0:44and from the King James for the New Testament.
- 0:48Numbers 32:1-42.
- 0:57The Reubenites and the Gadites owned cattle in very great numbers.
- 1:02Noting that the lands of Jazer and Gilead were a region suitable
- 1:06for cattle, the Gadites and the Reubenites came to Moses,
- 1:10Eleazar the Kohen, and the chieftains of the community and
- 1:14said, Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer,
- 1:17Nimrah, Heshbon, Elelah, Sebam,
- 1:21Nebo, and Beon. The land that Hashem
- 1:26has conquered for the Community of Israel is cattle country,
- 1:29and your servants have cattle. It would be a favor to us,
- 1:32they continued, if this land were given to your servants as a
- 1:36holding. Do not move us across the Jordan.
- 1:40Moses replied to the Gadites and the Reubenites, Are your brothers to go
- 1:44to war while you stay here? Why will you turn the minds of
- 1:47the Israelites from crossing into the land that Hashem has given them?
- 1:52This is what your fathers did when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea
- 1:56to survey the land. After going
- 2:00up to the Wadi Eshkol and surveying the land, they turned the minds
- 2:03of the Israelites from invading the land that Hashem had given them.
- 2:07Thereupon Hashem was incensed, and He swore,
- 2:11None of the men from 20 years up who came out of Egypt
- 2:16shall see the land that I promised on oath to Abraham,
- 2:20Isaac, and Jacob, for they did not remain loyal
- 2:24to Me. None except Caleb
- 2:28son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua
- 2:32son of Nun, for they remained loyal to Hashem.
- 2:36Hashem was incensed at Israel And for 40
- 2:39years He made them wander in the wilderness until the whole
- 2:43generation that had provoked Hashem's displeasure was gone.
- 2:49And now you, a breed of sinful men, have replaced your fathers to
- 2:53add still further to Hashem's wrath against Israel.
- 2:58If you turn away from Him and He abandons them once more in the wilderness,
- 3:02you will bring calamity upon all this people. Then they
- 3:06stepped up to him and said, We will build here sheepfolds for our flocks and
- 3:10towns for our children. And we will hasten as shock
- 3:14troops in the van of the Israelites until we have established them in
- 3:18their home, while our children stay in the fortified towns because of the inhabitants
- 3:22of the land. We will not return
- 3:26to our homes until every one of the Israelites is in possession of his portion.
- 3:31But we will not have a share with them in the territory beyond the Jordan,
- 3:35for we have received our share on the east side of
- 3:38the Jordan. Moses said to them, If you do this, if you
- 3:42go to battle as shock troops at the instance of Hashem, and every
- 3:46shock fighter among you crosses the Jordan at the instance of Hashem
- 3:51until he has dispossessed his enemies before him,
- 3:54then the land has been subdued at the instance of
- 3:58Hashem, and then you return, you shall be clear before Hashem
- 4:03and before Israel, and this land shall be your holding under Hashem.
- 4:09But if you do not do so,
- 4:14you will have sinned against Hashem, and know that your sin
- 4:17will overtake you. Build towns for your children
- 4:21and sheepfolds for your flocks, but do what you have
- 4:24promised. The Gadites and the Reubenites answered
- 4:28Moses, Your servants will do as my lord commands.
- 4:32Our children, our wives, our flocks, and all our other livestock
- 4:36will stay behind in the towns of Gilead, while your servants,
- 4:41all those recruited for war, cross over at the instance of
- 4:44Hashem to engage in battle, as my lord
- 4:48orders. Then Moses gave instructions concerning
- 4:52them to Eleazar the Kohen, Joshua son of Nun,
- 4:56and the family heads of the Israelite tribes.
- 4:59Moses said to them, If every shock fighter among the Gadites and the Reubenites
- 5:04crosses the Jordan with you to do battle at the instance of Hashem,
- 5:08and the land is subdued before you, you shall give them
- 5:12the land of Gilead as a holding. But if they do not cross over
- 5:16with you as shock troops, they shall receive holdings among you in the land of
- 5:20Canaan. The Gadites and the Reubenites said in
- 5:23reply, Whatever Hashem has spoken concerning your servants, that we
- 5:28will do. We ourselves will cross over as shock troops,
- 5:31at the instance of Hashem, into the land of Canaan,
- 5:35and we shall keep our hereditary holding across the
- 5:38Jordan. So Moses assigned to them, to the Gadites, the Reubenites,
- 5:42and the half-tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph,
- 5:45the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the
- 5:49kingdom of King Og of Bashan, the land with
- 5:53its various cities and the territories of their surrounding towns.
- 5:57The Gadites rebuilt Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer,
- 6:01Atroth-shophan, Jazer, Jogbeha,
- 6:05Beth-nimrah, and Beth-horon as fortified
- 6:09towns or as enclosures for flocks. The Reubenites rebuilt
- 6:13Heshbon, Elelah, Kiriathaim, Nebo,
- 6:17Baal-meon— some names being changed—
- 6:21and Sibmah. They gave their own names to towns that they
- 6:25rebuilt. The descendants of Makir son of Manasseh
- 6:29went to Gilead and captured it, dispossessing the Amorites who
- 6:32were there. So Moses gave Gilead to Makir son of
- 6:36Manasseh, and he settled there. Yair son of
- 6:40Manasseh went and captured their villages, which he renamed Haveth-jear.
- 6:45And Nobah went and captured Kenath and his dependencies,
- 6:48renaming it Nobah after himself.
- 6:552 Chronicles 21:1-23:21.
- 7:02Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the
- 7:06City of David. His son Jehoram succeeded him as king.
- 7:10He had brothers, sons of Jehoshaphat: Azariah,
- 7:15Jekiel, Zechariah, Azarahu,
- 7:18Michael, and Shephatiah. All these were sons
- 7:22of King Jehoshaphat of Israel. Their father
- 7:26gave them many gifts of silver, gold, and other presents, as well
- 7:30as fortified towns in Judah. But he gave the kingdom
- 7:34to Jehoram because he was the firstborn. Jehoram proceeded
- 7:39to take firm hold of his father's kingdom and put to the sword
- 7:43all his brothers as well as some of the officers
- 7:46of Israel. Jehoram was 32 years old
- 7:50when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem 8 years.
- 7:54He followed the practices of the kings of Israel, doing what the
- 7:58house of Ahab had done, for he had married a daughter
- 8:02of Ahab. He did what was displeasing to
- 8:05Hashem. However, Hashem refrained from destroying
- 8:09the House of David for the sake of the covenant He had made with David
- 8:14and in accordance with His promise to maintain a lamp
- 8:18for him and his descendants for all
- 8:21time.
- 8:28During his reign, the Edomites rebelled against Jehuda's
- 8:31rule. And set up a king of their own.
- 8:35Jehoram advanced against them with his officers and all his
- 8:39chariots. He arose by night and attacked the
- 8:42Edomites who surrounded him and the chariot commanders.
- 8:47Edom has been in rebellion against Judah to this
- 8:50day. Libnah also rebelled against him
- 8:54at that time because he had forsaken God of his fathers.
- 8:59Moreover, he built shrines in the hill country of Judah.
- 9:03He led astray the inhabitants of Jerusalem and made Judah wayward.
- 9:08A letter from Eliyahu the Navi
- 9:12came to him which read, thus says God of your father
- 9:16David, since you have not followed the practices of
- 9:19your father Jehoshaphat and the practices of King Asa,
- 9:24of Yehudah, but have followed the practices of
- 9:28the kings of Israel, leading astray Judah and the inhabitants
- 9:32of Jerusalem, as the house of Ahab led them astray,
- 9:36and have also killed your brothers of your father's house
- 9:40who were better than you. Therefore Hashem will inflict
- 9:44a great blow upon your people, your sons,
- 9:47and your wives, and all your possessions.
- 9:52As for you, you will be severely stricken with
- 9:55a disorder of the bowels year after year until your bowels drop
- 9:59out. Hashem stirred up
- 10:03the spirit of the Philistines and the Arabs who were neighbors of the Cushites against
- 10:08Jehoram. They marched against Judah, breached its
- 10:11defenses, and carried off all the property that was found in the king's palace.
- 10:16As well as his sons and his wives. The only son who
- 10:20remained was Jehoahaz, his youngest.
- 10:25After this, Hashem afflicted him with an incurable disease
- 10:29of the bowels. Some years later, when a period of 2
- 10:33years had elapsed, his bowels dropped out because
- 10:37of his disease, and he died a gruesome death.
- 10:43His people did not make a fire for him like a fire for
- 10:47his fathers. He was 32 years old when he became king,
- 10:51and he reigned in Jerusalem 8 years.
- 10:54He departed unpraised and was buried
- 10:58in the City of David, but not in the tombs of
- 11:02the kings.
- 11:05The inhabitants of Jerusalem made Achaziah,
- 11:09his youngest son, king in his stead, because all the older ones
- 11:12had been killed by the troops that penetrated the camp
- 11:16with the Arabs. Achaziah son of Jehoram reigned as
- 11:20king of Judah. Achaziah was 42
- 11:23years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem 1 year.
- 11:27His mother's name was Athaliah daughter of Omri.
- 11:32He too followed the practices of the house of Ahab,
- 11:36For his mother counseled him to do evil.
- 11:43He did what was displeasing to Hashem,
- 11:46like the house of Ahab, for they became his counselors after his
- 11:50father's death, to his ruination.
- 11:54Moreover, he followed their counsel and marched with Jehoram son of
- 11:58King Ahab of Israel to battle against
- 12:02King Hazael of Aram at Ramoth-gilead, where the Arameans wounded Joram.
- 12:07He returned to Israel to recover from the wounds inflicted
- 12:11on him at Ramah when he fought against King Hazael of Aram.
- 12:16King Azariah son of Jehoram of Judah went down
- 12:19to Israel to visit Jehoram son of Ahab
- 12:23while he was ill. Hashem caused the downfall of
- 12:27Achaziah because he visited Joram. During his
- 12:31visit, he went out with Jehoram to Jehu son of Nimshi,
- 12:35whom Hashem had anointed to cut off the House of Ahab.
- 12:39In the course of bringing the House of Ahab to judgment,
- 12:43Jehu came upon the officers of Yehuda and the
- 12:47nephews of AchazYahu, ministers of AchazYahu,
- 12:50and killed them. He sent
- 12:54in search of AchazYahu, who was caught hiding in Samaria,
- 12:58was brought to Jehu, and put to death. He was given a
- 13:02burial because it was said, He is the son of Jehoshaphat who worshipped Hashem
- 13:06wholeheartedly. So the House of Achaziah could
- 13:10not muster the strength to rule. When Athaliah,
- 13:14Achaziah's mother, learned that her son was dead,
- 13:17she promptly did away with all who were of the royal
- 13:21stock of the House of Judah. But Jehoshaphat,
- 13:25daughter of the king, spirited away Achaziah's
- 13:29son Joash from among the princes who were being slain
- 13:33and put him and his nurse in a bedroom.
- 13:37Jehoshaphat, daughter of the king Jehoram,
- 13:40wife of the kohen Jehoiada— she was the sister of
- 13:44Achaziah— kept him hidden from Athaliah so that
- 13:49he was not put to death. He stayed with them for 6
- 13:53years, hidden, in the House of Hashem, while Attaliah
- 13:57reigned over the land. In the 7th
- 14:01year, Jehoiada took courage and brought the chiefs
- 14:04of the hundreds, Azariah son of Jehoram, Ishmael son
- 14:08of Yekoiachin, Azariah son
- 14:13of Obed, Maaseiah son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat son
- 14:17of Zicri, into a compact with him. They went through
- 14:21Judah and assembled the Levi'im from all the towns of
- 14:24Judah and the chiefs of the clans of Israel. They came
- 14:28to Jerusalem, and the entire assembly made a
- 14:32covenant with the king in the House of Hashem. He said
- 14:36to them, The son of the king shall be king according to the promise Hashem
- 14:40made concerning the sons of David. This is what you must do.
- 14:45One-third of you, Kohanim and Levi'im, who are on duty
- 14:48for the week, shall be gatekeepers. At the thresholds.
- 14:53Another third shall be stationed in the Royal Palace,
- 14:56and the other third at the Foundation Gate. All the people
- 15:01shall be in the courts of the House of Hashem. Let no one
- 15:04enter the House of Hashem except the Kohanim and the
- 15:09ministering Levi'im. They may enter because they are sanctified,
- 15:13but all the people shall obey the proscription of Hashem.
- 15:17The Levi'im shall surround the king on every side, every man
- 15:22with his weapons at the ready, and whoever enters the
- 15:25house shall be killed. Stay close to the king in his
- 15:29comings and goings. The Levi'im and all
- 15:33Judah did just as Jehoiada the Kohen ordered.
- 15:38Each took his men, those who were on duty that week and
- 15:41those who were off duty that week, where YahuYahdah the Kohen
- 15:45had not dismissed the divisions. YahuYahdah the Kohen
- 15:49gave the chiefs of the hundreds King David's spears
- 15:52and shields and quivers that were kept in the House of Hashem.
- 15:58He stationed the entire force, each man with
- 16:02his weapons at the ready, from the south end of the House to the north
- 16:05end of the House, at the altar and the House,
- 16:08to guard the King on every side. Then they
- 16:12brought out the king's son and placed upon him the crown
- 16:16and the insignia. They proclaimed him king,
- 16:21and Yahuyada and his sons anointed him and shouted, Long live
- 16:25the king! When Ataliah heard the shouting
- 16:28of the people and the guards and the acclamation of the king,
- 16:32she came out to the people, to the house of Hashem.
- 16:36She looked about and saw the king standing by his pillar,
- 16:39at the entrance, the chiefs with their trumpets beside the king,
- 16:44and all the people of the land rejoicing and blowing trumpets,
- 16:48and the singers with musical instruments leading the
- 16:51hymns. Athaliah rent her garments and cried out, Treason!
- 16:55Treason! Then the kohen
- 16:59Jehoiada ordered out the army officers,
- 17:02the chiefs of hundreds, and said to them, Take her out between
- 17:07the ranks, and if anyone follows her, put him to the sword.
- 17:11For the Kohen thought, let her not be put to death in the House of
- 17:15Hashem. They cleared a passage for her, and she came to the entrance
- 17:19of the Horse Gate to the royal palace. There she was put
- 17:22to death. Then Yahuwah solemnized
- 17:26a covenant between himself and the people and the
- 17:30king, that they should be part and be the people of
- 17:33Hashem. All the people then went to the temple of
- 17:37Baal. They tore it down and smashed
- 17:41its altars and images to bits. They slew Matan,
- 17:45the priest of Baal, in front of the altars.
- 17:49YahuYahda put the officers of the House of Hashem in charge
- 17:54of the Levite Kohanim whom David had assigned over the
- 17:58House of Hashem to offer up burnt offerings. As is prescribed
- 18:03in the teaching of Moses, accompanied by joyful song
- 18:07as ordained by David. He stationed the gatekeepers
- 18:11at the gates of the House of Hashem to prevent the entry
- 18:14of anyone unclean for any reason. He took
- 18:19the chiefs of hundreds, the nobles, and the rulers of
- 18:22the people, and all the people of the land, and they escorted the king down
- 18:26from the House of Hashem. Into the royal palace by the upper
- 18:31gate and seated the king on the royal throne. All the people
- 18:35of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet. As for Ataliah,
- 18:40she had been put to the sword.
- 18:54Romans 11:13-36.
- 19:08For I, Paul, speak to you Gentiles,
- 19:11inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles.
- 19:15I magnify my office, if by any means I may
- 19:19provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save
- 19:23some of them. For if the casting away of them be the
- 19:27reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of
- 19:31them be, but life from the dead?
- 19:37For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy:
- 19:40and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
- 19:44And if some of the branches be broken off, and you, being a wild
- 19:48olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with
- 19:52them partake of the root and fatness of the olive tree,
- 19:57boast not against the branches.
- 20:01But if you boast, you bear not the root, but the root
- 20:05bears you. You will say then, Branches were broken
- 20:09off that I might be grafted in. Well,
- 20:13because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith.
- 20:17Be not high-minded, but fear.
- 20:23For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest
- 20:28He also spare not thee. Behold therefore the
- 20:31goodness and severity of God: on them which
- 20:35fell severity, but toward you goodness,
- 20:39if you continue in His goodness: otherwise you also shall
- 20:43be cut off. But they also, if they abide
- 20:47not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God
- 20:51is able to graft them in again. For if you were
- 20:55cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature,
- 20:59and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree:
- 21:04how much more shall these, which be the natural branches,
- 21:08be grafted into their own olive tree? Olive tree.
- 21:12For I would not, brethren, that you be ignorant of this mystery,
- 21:17lest you should be wise in your own conceits,
- 21:21that blindness in part has happened to Israel
- 21:25until the fullness of the Gentiles shall come
- 21:29in. And so all Israel
- 21:33shall be saved, as it is written, There shall
- 21:37come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn
- 21:40away ungodliness from Jacob. For this
- 21:44is my covenant to them, when I shall take away their sins.
- 21:49As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes; but
- 21:53as touching the election, they are beloved for
- 21:57the Father's sakes. For the gifts and calling of God
- 22:01are without repentance. For as you
- 22:05in times past have not believed God, yet have now
- 22:09obtained mercy through their unbelief,
- 22:12even so have these also now not believed,
- 22:16that through your mercy they also
- 22:20may obtain mercy.
- 22:24For God has concluded them all in unbelief,
- 22:28that He might have mercy upon all.
- 22:32Oh, the depth of the riches both
- 22:36of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are
- 22:41His judgments and His ways past finding out!
- 22:45For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who
- 22:49has been His counselor? Or who has first given to
- 22:52Him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
- 22:57For of Him, and through Him, and to Him are all
- 23:01things, to whom be glory forever.
- 23:07Amen. Psalm 22:1-18.
- 23:12My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Why are
- 23:17You so far from helping me and from the words of my roaring?
- 23:21O my God, I cry in the daytime, but You hear not.
- 23:25And in the night season, and am not silent.
- 23:29But You are holy, O You that inhabit the praises
- 23:33of Israel. Our fathers trusted in You,
- 23:36they trusted and You did deliver them. They cried to
- 23:40You and were delivered, they trusted in You
- 23:44and were not confounded. But I am a
- 23:48worm and no man, a reproach of men, and despised
- 23:52of the people. All they that see Me laugh Me
- 23:56to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head,
- 23:59saying, He trusted on the Lord, that He would deliver Him: let
- 24:04Him deliver Him, seeing He delighted in Him. But You are
- 24:08He that took Me out of the womb: You did make Me hope when
- 24:11I was upon my mother's breasts. I was cast
- 24:16upon You from the womb: You are my God from my mother's belly.
- 24:20Be not far from Me, for trouble is near, for there is
- 24:23none to help. Many bulls have compassed Me,
- 24:26strong bulls of Bashan have beset Me round about.
- 24:30They gaped upon Me with their mouths, as a ravening and
- 24:34a roaring lion. I am poured out like
- 24:37water, and all My bones are out
- 24:41of joint. My heart is like wax,
- 24:44it is melted in the midst of My bowels. My strength
- 24:48is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue cleaves
- 24:52to my jaws, and You have brought me into the dust of
- 24:56death. For dogs have compassed me, the assembly
- 25:00of the wicked have enclosed me. They pierced my
- 25:04hands and my feet.
- 25:08I may tell all my bones, they look and
- 25:12stare upon me. They part my garments among them and
- 25:16cast lots upon my vesture.
- 25:22Proverbs 20:7.
- 25:26The just man walks in his integrity; his children are
- 25:30blessed after him.
- 25:34How does God Himself view the nation
- 25:38of Israel? How does He view the
- 25:43Jewish people? How does He want us to
- 25:48view the nation of Israel? And how are we
- 25:52to regard the Jewish people?
- 25:56These questions are addressed in Romans
- 26:00chapter 11, and in the section that we read today,
- 26:04there is a strong warning for us Gentiles,
- 26:08for us non-Jewish people.
- 26:12He paints the picture of an olive tree,
- 26:16and there are wild branches and natural branches.
- 26:20The wild branches are us non-Jews,
- 26:25us Gentiles. We are the wild branches,
- 26:29and we have been grafted into this olive tree.
- 26:33And the root of the olive tree is very rich.
- 26:38The root of the olive tree is Jesus
- 26:42Christ Himself. And you could say it also goes to the
- 26:46patriarchs: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob. The olive
- 26:50tree is the nation of Israel.
- 26:54And when we are grafted into this olive tree, we become
- 27:00citizens, naturalized citizens of the Commonwealth of
- 27:04Israel. We become a part of God's family.
- 27:09But who are the natural branches? The natural branches
- 27:14are the Jewish people. Paul,
- 27:18it is almost as though he is looking down the corridor of time and he
- 27:22is anticipating and seeing what is coming,
- 27:26and he sees times in the future when there
- 27:29would be great arrogance and pride and
- 27:34even persecution against the Jewish people, against the natural branches.
- 27:39He warns against this. He says, well, branches were broken off
- 27:42that I might be grafted in. Well, because of unbelief, he says,
- 27:47they were broken off, and you stand by faith.
- 27:50Be not high-minded, But fear,
- 27:54if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest
- 27:57he also spare not you.
- 28:02So there's a deep mystery here, and basically
- 28:06he's saying that these natural branches have
- 28:09been given a blindness from God
- 28:15and that they have been kept out of the gospel cycle,
- 28:20so to speak, until the fullness of the Gentiles
- 28:24has come in. He goes on to say,
- 28:28even so, in verse 30, in times
- 28:32past have not believed God, yet have now obtained
- 28:36mercy through their unbelief. We Gentiles
- 28:41have obtained the mercy of God through the unbelief of
- 28:46the Jews. In other words, think about it. When Paul tried to share
- 28:49the Gospel message with his fellow Jews, some of them listened,
- 28:53some of them believed, some of them followed Jesus, but many of
- 28:57them rejected him and would not tolerate him.
- 29:00They would stone him and chase him out of the synagogue. And so he
- 29:04said, fine, I'm going to take this Gospel message to the Gentiles.
- 29:08And his whole focus of his ministry was to the Gentiles.
- 29:14But now in verse 31 it says, even so have these also
- 29:18now not believed that through your mercy
- 29:23they also may obtain mercy.
- 29:27Let's unpack that for just a moment. Through your mercy,
- 29:32that is us Gentiles, they, the Jews,
- 29:36also may obtain mercy.
- 29:42So what do we see happening today? Wonderful bridges
- 29:47of relationship, connection, and partnership are
- 29:51being built between the Jewish community and the Christian community,
- 29:56and it goes in both directions. And there are many different organizations
- 30:00and ministries, Christian organizations and ministries,
- 30:03that have a heart to serve and to support and
- 30:07come alongside Israel and the Jewish people.
- 30:10Christians United for Israel, CUFI, is one
- 30:13such organization. The ICEJ,
- 30:17International Christian Embassy Jerusalem, is another such organization.
- 30:21Zacharias Hope is another such organization.
- 30:25And what many of these
- 30:29organizations' ministries do is it's called relationship evangelism.
- 30:34So we're not going to share the Gospel with words. We're going to love them
- 30:38and support them and love them with our actions, not just with our words,
- 30:43and help in every way that we can and send support,
- 30:47send volunteers, and walk with
- 30:51the Jewish people without trying to in any way proselytize
- 30:54them or cause them to convert, that we're just going
- 30:58to love them right where they're at. And that's the mercy of God.
- 31:02That's the grace of God. That is the loving
- 31:05kindness of God. And so
- 31:10ever since October 7th broke out, the war has broken out
- 31:14and the war just lingers and continues on and people are weary.
- 31:18It's been 2 years now and people are weary
- 31:22and many, many soldiers have died. Almost 1,000 IDF
- 31:25soldiers have died in this war. On 7 fronts against
- 31:30Hamas and the Houthis and Hezbollah and Iran.
- 31:36So as Christians stand
- 31:40in support and in prayer with Israel, and they
- 31:44go and they continue to serve in Israel,
- 31:47rolling up their sleeves and getting to work and volunteering, the Jewish
- 31:51people see the love of God in action.
- 31:56I love the saying that says, preach the Gospel, if necessary use words.
- 32:02And that's what works best in Israel— love
- 32:06in action. It is the love of Christ that compels
- 32:10us to love the Jewish people because
- 32:15God loves them. They are the apple of His eye.
- 32:20And it says here in Romans that there's a day coming when all
- 32:24Israel will be saved. And when that happens,
- 32:28it will be life from the dead, because after
- 32:32all, they are the natural branches. And when the natural
- 32:35branches get grafted back into the olive tree,
- 32:38truly, that is going to be resurrection life.
- 32:42That's going to be life from the dead.
- 32:47And so this gives us an understanding of how God
- 32:51sees Israel.
- 32:55He says in verse 15, for if the casting away of them be
- 32:59the reconciling of the world,
- 33:02so the purpose of them being casting aside was
- 33:05the reconciling of the world so the gospel would go to all the nations,
- 33:09to all 4 corners of the earth, What shall the receiving of
- 33:13them, the Jews, be but life from the
- 33:18dead? This is reminiscent of Ezekiel chapter 37
- 33:22when we see the scattered dry bones, and Ezekiel
- 33:25is surveying this valley filled with dry bones,
- 33:30and God asks him, Ezekiel, what do you see? And Ezekiel says,
- 33:34I see all these dry dead bones and they're all scattered.
- 33:37And God instructs him, speak to these bones and tell them to come alive.
- 33:43And so he speaks to the bones, and the bones begin to come
- 33:46together. That field of dry bones represents
- 33:51Israel, represents the Jewish people that have been scattered to
- 33:55all the nations of the earth before the nation of Israel was reborn
- 33:59in May of 1948. And then as the
- 34:03bones come together, bone upon bone, and now we have a skeleton, and then
- 34:07there is flesh and muscle and blood and sinew
- 34:12put upon these bones, and yet they're still not quite alive.
- 34:16That's stage 1. The people had to return to the land.
- 34:20Stage 1. And we've been seeing stage 1 unfolding
- 34:24for the last 50-odd years.
- 34:27But stage 2 is when God instructs
- 34:32Ezekiel to now breathe the breath of life,
- 34:35pray that God would breathe the breath of life upon these bones.
- 34:39And when the breath of life is blown upon the bones, then they
- 34:43truly come alive. So in stage 1, the bones return,
- 34:47the Jews return to the land, and it's a secular
- 34:51reawakening, a secular rebirthing into the
- 34:55land. But in stage 2, when the Ruach, the Holy Spirit,
- 34:59the breath of God comes upon this mighty and
- 35:02vast army, And that's the spiritual awakening,
- 35:07the spiritual rebirth of Israel as
- 35:10a nation. And so God loves
- 35:14the nation of Israel. He loves
- 35:18the Jewish people, and He is not
- 35:21done with them. He has a plan for them, and they are integral,
- 35:25they are central in His final
- 35:29closing chapter of human history.
- 35:33Okay, that's all I have for today. Have a blessed day, and we'll see you
- 35:37tomorrow. Shalom.
