- 0:00Speaker 1: The Israelis spy on the United States. They've always spied
- 0:03Speaker 1: on the United States. Do we spy on them also? No.
- 0:06Speaker 1: And that's written in stone at the CIA. We do
- 0:09Speaker 1: not spy on Israel. But they openly spy on us.
- 0:12Speaker 1: They're all over the country stealing defense secrets. Do we
- 0:15Speaker 1: spy on other countries? Yeah, we spy on almost every.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Why can't we spy on them? It's a political decision
- 0:21Speaker 1: that's been made. Yeah, a political decision. In the White House,
- 0:26Speaker 1: on Capitol Hill.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Sometimes it just feels like our country is just kind
- 0:31Speaker 2: of owned by Israel and they just don't say that.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Do you think that that's true or do you think
- 0:34Speaker 2: that's fictional? Well, I don't think it's so clear cut.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I think the truth is that the Israelis have inordinate
- 0:40Speaker 1: political influence in the United States, especially in our elections.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, they just had that election with Thomas Massey
- 0:48Speaker 2: that- Exactly. That's the best example. That got overtaken. What
- 0:51Speaker 2: happened with that election? Let's bring it up. I mean,
- 0:53Speaker 2: I know that Thomas lost a lot, but it was
- 0:54Speaker 2: the largest- Yeah, $ 35 million was spent- The American Israel
- 0:59Speaker 2: Public Affairs Committee, or AIPAC, and other pro-Israel interest groups
- 1:03Speaker 2: have uncorked over $ 9 million in a bid to unseat
- 1:06Speaker 2: Republican Representative Thomas Massey on Tuesday, which they did, in
- 1:10Speaker 2: a competitive primary that has shattered spending records. Prominent pro-Israel
- 1:15Speaker 2: GOP donors have funneled millions more into a super PAC
- 1:19Speaker 2: stood up by President Donald Trump's political operation that has
- 1:22Speaker 2: spent nearly $ 7 million on the race. Overall ad spending
- 1:25Speaker 2: has topped $ 32 million. making it the most expensive house
- 1:28Speaker 2: primary on record per tracking firm ad impact. Wow. For
- 1:32Speaker 2: a job that pays $ 180, 000 a year.
- 1:34Speaker 1: So what are the long-term benefits of them getting this position?
- 1:39Speaker 2: Or was it just about getting Massey out?
- 1:40Speaker 1: It was getting Massey. The thing about APAC is if
- 1:44Speaker 1: you are not 100% pro-Israel, they will primary you. They'll
- 1:49Speaker 1: primary you with somebody who is 100% pro-Israel.
- 1:51Speaker 2: And sometimes... You know, the perfect is the enemy of
- 1:56Speaker 2: the good. What does that mean?
- 1:59Speaker 1: Where you've got, for example, there was an incumbent Democrat
- 2:01Speaker 1: in New Jersey who voted pro-Israel 90% of the time.
- 2:06Speaker 1: They ran a primary opponent against him who was 100%
- 2:12Speaker 1: pro-Israel and he lost.
- 2:15Speaker 2: But so did she.
- 2:16Speaker 1: And the one that won was the one that's pro-Palestinian.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Ah, I see. So sometimes by taking out, by aiming
- 2:22Speaker 2: for one, you might let another through. You end up
- 2:25Speaker 2: hurting your own cause. Got it. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I think,
- 2:27Speaker 2: I mean, I can understand people's angst with this sort
- 2:30Speaker 2: of thing. I mean, the biggest thing is just like
- 2:32Speaker 2: if Israel is involved in a genocide, right? They're genociding people.
- 2:36Speaker 2: It's almost like, why would you let Nazi Germany invest
- 2:40Speaker 2: in your people who are going to be running congressmen
- 2:46Speaker 2: or senators in your country? It's crazy. I don't see
- 2:49Speaker 2: how there's not a law. Like, why isn't there a law?
- 2:52Speaker 2: If there's some, if a country is doing like a,
- 2:54Speaker 2: like a Holocaust or like a genocide that they're not
- 2:57Speaker 2: allowed to invest in, that they're not allowed to have
- 3:00Speaker 2: a lobby in, in, in our elections. See, was there
- 3:04Speaker 2: ever a law about that?
- 3:05Speaker 1: No.
- 3:06Speaker 2: And, and they would, lose their shit over the use
- 3:10Speaker 2: of the word genocide. You used it. I use it.
- 3:13Speaker 2: It's a genocide. We've been using it on here for years.
- 3:16Speaker 2: It meets all the international legal requirements of a genocide.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Well, I think the UN has voted that it is. Yeah.
- 3:23Speaker 2: I don't know if the vote passed because I think
- 3:25Speaker 2: there was maybe some groups that were, that wouldn't agree
- 3:27Speaker 2: to it.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Well, it didn't pass the security council, but it passed
- 3:32Speaker 1: by 90 something percent in the general assembly.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Yeah, but I just, I don't understand why that seems fair.
- 3:38Speaker 2: And also I'm amazed that I don't understand why people
- 3:41Speaker 2: that made like movies and wrote books about the Holocaust,
- 3:44Speaker 2: why they don't speak up and say, hey, this is
- 3:48Speaker 2: the same thing that I wrote about. You know what
- 3:50Speaker 2: I'm saying? You can show picture to picture that makes
- 3:52Speaker 2: it exactly. Killing is wrong. It's wrong.
- 3:54Speaker 1: No matter who's doing the killing or who's being killed,
- 3:56Speaker 1: it's just wrong. But I don't see why some of
- 3:59Speaker 1: those people don't speak up. Well, there is an increasingly
- 4:03Speaker 1: large number of Jewish Americans who, who are speaking out.
- 4:07Speaker 1: There's a big group called Jewish Voices for Peace. The
- 4:10Speaker 1: Orthodox Jewish community in New York has been very vocal.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Just this week, there was- There was a protest going on,
- 4:18Speaker 1: wasn't there? The annual Israel Day parade. And a lot
- 4:22Speaker 1: of the Orthodox Jews from Brooklyn showed up with Palestinian
- 4:26Speaker 1: and Iranian flags, and it caused violence.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I guess I just don't understand why- what
- 4:35Speaker 2: are like, what is America afraid of? Like, like what
- 4:37Speaker 2: have you seen like in the CIA? Because it does,
- 4:39Speaker 2: you hear a lot that like, that, that the Israeli
- 4:43Speaker 2: influence like has taken over our CIA and our FBI.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Do you think that that's true or not? Well, I
- 4:50Speaker 1: can't speak to the FBI and my, my CIA information
- 4:53Speaker 1: is dated. I left the CIA more than 20 years ago,
- 4:55Speaker 1: but when I was there, we kept the Israelis at
- 4:58Speaker 1: arm's length, like seriously. So, um, The very first intelligence
- 5:04Speaker 1: liaison intelligence briefing I ever gave was to the Israelis.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I had been only on the job six weeks. And
- 5:10Speaker 1: my boss said, listen, you're going to give a liaison briefing.
- 5:12Speaker 1: It's going to be a whole big group of people.
- 5:14Speaker 1: So you're going to be the last one to talk
- 5:16Speaker 1: because you're the most junior. But you need to know
- 5:20Speaker 1: some of the ground rules. He said, we do not
- 5:23Speaker 1: meet with the Israelis in the building.
- 5:25Speaker 2: We used to.
- 5:27Speaker 1: But every time they'd come, they'd bring us gifts. And
- 5:30Speaker 1: the gifts are always packed with listening devices and batteries.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Is that true? Yes, 100% true. Would you guys find them?
- 5:35Speaker 2: How do you even know that that's true? Because you
- 5:37Speaker 2: have to x-ray everything that comes into the building.
- 5:39Speaker 1: You can't just wantonly walk in off the street with,
- 5:41Speaker 1: you know, boxes of gifts and say, here, this is
- 5:43Speaker 1: for you.
- 5:44Speaker 2: And what they do to sew a couple of Palestinian
- 5:46Speaker 2: ears from the rubble? And they're like, oh, we're just joking. Oh,
- 5:51Speaker 2: it's like joking stuff. Yeah, it's not joking.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Right.
- 5:54Speaker 2: So that happened during your time. Was that with other
- 5:55Speaker 2: countries too? So I'm sure there's other countries that like, Oh,
- 5:58Speaker 2: there are other countries we don't even have liaison with.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Got it.
- 6:00Speaker 1: But with the Israelis, we had to, we had to
- 6:02Speaker 1: rent a place and we would meet with them in
- 6:04Speaker 1: the place. Um, on my very first day at the CIA,
- 6:08Speaker 1: you meet in the auditorium called the bubble and the
- 6:11Speaker 1: head of HR comes out and the director comes and says,
- 6:14Speaker 1: welcome to the CIA.
- 6:15Speaker 2: And then the head of.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Security, it's just a parade of important people come to
- 6:19Speaker 1: welcome you. So the head of security said, he said
- 6:21Speaker 1: a couple of things.
- 6:22Speaker 2: One was funny.
- 6:23Speaker 1: He said, the gravest threat facing America today is the
- 6:28Speaker 1: threat of Soviet communism. And I said to the guy
- 6:31Speaker 1: next to me, does this guy not read the papers?
- 6:34Speaker 1: There is no Soviet Union anymore. Anyway, he went on
- 6:37Speaker 1: to say that the Israelis have two declared intelligence officers
- 6:42Speaker 1: in the United States. One Mossad and one Shin Bet.
- 6:46Speaker 1: So CIA and FBI equivalents. They're at the Israeli embassy
- 6:49Speaker 1: in Washington.
- 6:50Speaker 2: But the FBI.
- 6:51Speaker 1: has identified 187 additional undeclared Israeli intelligence officers spread out
- 6:58Speaker 1: all over America, stealing secrets from defense contractors. So the
- 7:05Speaker 1: lesson was, don't ever talk about work outside the building.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Don't ever eat at the restaurants in McLean, Virginia, because
- 7:12Speaker 1: they're all Russian KGB.
- 7:14Speaker 2: And back then it was the KGB.
- 7:16Speaker 1: And Israeli Mossad agents eating there to hear what the
- 7:20Speaker 1: CIA people are saying after work.
