Mega Edition: Bank Of America, Capital One And Their Shared Epstein Problem (9/10/26) · The Vault: The Epstein Files

0:01
Speaker 1: Alright, so tonight we're going to talk about another one
0:06
Speaker 1: of these scuzzball banks. A lot of you probably have
0:10
Speaker 1: a credit card with them, in fact. But this is
0:13
Speaker 1: another one of those scuzzball financial institutions that thinks that
0:20
Speaker 1: they are above the law. That they don't have to,
0:23
Speaker 1: you know... be involved in any of the same sort
0:30
Speaker 1: of regulated procedures that everybody else has to abide by.
0:36
Speaker 1: But I'm sure a lot of you who have a
0:39
Speaker 1: credit card from this company are getting absolutely gouged by
0:44
Speaker 1: your finance rate. But at the same time, this institution
0:50
Speaker 1: that we're going to talk about tonight can be so...
0:56
Speaker 1: backwards so corrupt that they're getting slapped with a 390
1:03
Speaker 1: million dollar fine now remember deutsche bank got hit with
1:09
Speaker 1: 150 and then 130 we're talking 280 million in two
1:13
Speaker 1: separate clips this is one clip here okay and they're
1:19
Speaker 1: being fined for anti-money laundering deficiencies but in one fell
1:25
Speaker 1: swoop 390 million dollars think about that just the amount
1:36
Speaker 1: between Deutsche Bank and the institution we're about to talk
1:43
Speaker 1: about combined we're talking easily easily north of half a
1:50
Speaker 1: billion dollars that is a lot of money folks And
1:56
Speaker 1: I think that there should be another regulation or law
2:00
Speaker 1: where the money that gets fined gets put right into
2:04
Speaker 1: infrastructure for America. That money gets moved. If it gets
2:08
Speaker 1: fined in America and seized in America, or I mean
2:11
Speaker 1: it gets paid in America, then I think that it
2:14
Speaker 1: should go into infrastructure projects. There should be some sort
2:18
Speaker 1: of account and the money in that account should have
2:22
Speaker 1: to be spent on... you know, education, roads, bridges, stuff
2:26
Speaker 1: like that, stuff that's going to benefit the American people.
2:29
Speaker 1: Or how about we put together some sort of new
2:32
Speaker 1: age homesteading act? I've been throwing that idea around forever.
2:38
Speaker 1: And with all of the land we have here in Nevada,
2:41
Speaker 1: I think that there, you know, there's definitely a conversation
2:43
Speaker 1: to be had to help people that are lower income,
2:47
Speaker 1: lower middle class, people that are going to have a
2:49
Speaker 1: hard time buying a home. I think with some fundage,
2:53
Speaker 1: and something like a Homestead Act, I think that a
2:56
Speaker 1: lot of people that would never have the ability to
3:00
Speaker 1: have their own property or their own home, I think
3:03
Speaker 1: that would be a great pathway to it. So, you know,
3:08
Speaker 1: there are a lot of projects, and that's obviously not
3:11
Speaker 1: the only one, there are a lot of projects that
3:13
Speaker 1: money could be used on, money from these scumbag bankers.
3:19
Speaker 1: And I think that when you talk about infrastructure... I'm
3:25
Speaker 1: pretty sure that most people agree that infrastructure is a
3:28
Speaker 1: good place to spend a couple of bucks. I don't
3:31
Speaker 1: know about you folks, but have you been on any
3:34
Speaker 1: bridges lately? Have you checked out airports? Have you checked
3:37
Speaker 1: out some of the different federal areas? We could definitely
3:45
Speaker 1: use it. No doubt about it. So... again, I think
3:50
Speaker 1: that money would be much better repurposed into projects like that,
3:54
Speaker 1: helping wounded veterans or whatever. I'm sure a lot of
3:58
Speaker 1: you have great ideas out there as well when it
3:59
Speaker 1: comes to how that money can be repurposed. But one
4:02
Speaker 1: thing I think we can all agree on is that
4:05
Speaker 1: it shouldn't fall into the chasm that is the federal government,
4:09
Speaker 1: because the people are never going to see that money.
4:12
Speaker 1: And that money is never going to, you know, really
4:16
Speaker 1: be used to help anyone. Let's be real. Money's probably
4:21
Speaker 1: repurposed into bombs to drop on the Houthis in Yemen. So, well,
4:28
Speaker 1: I think, like we've been talking about, and I think
4:30
Speaker 1: it's a great step that we have the anti-money laundering
4:33
Speaker 1: laws now in effect. I think that it needs to
4:36
Speaker 1: go a little bit further when we're holding these people, A,
4:40
Speaker 1: responsible for what they do, and then, B, we're when
4:44
Speaker 1: they are fined and there's money taken from them or
4:48
Speaker 1: assets seized, whatever it may be, that that money is
4:51
Speaker 1: put into a worthwhile cause and not just, you know,
4:55
Speaker 1: lost in the sauce. We talked about the whistleblowers getting 30%.
4:59
Speaker 1: And I think that's a great idea too, because it's
5:02
Speaker 1: going to incentivize whistleblowers coming forward. And it's going to
5:06
Speaker 1: give people a reason to not keep things under wraps, right?
5:10
Speaker 1: A lot of times people keep things under wraps because
5:12
Speaker 1: they're scared to lose their job. But if you're getting
5:15
Speaker 1: 30% of $ 390 million, to hell with your job, right?
5:19
Speaker 1: I'll let you do the math, but I'm sure it's
5:21
Speaker 1: going to get you a chalet somewhere in New Hampshire.
5:25
Speaker 1: I'm sure it's going to get you a few days
5:27
Speaker 1: off of work, boys and girls. So, I mean, it's
5:32
Speaker 1: a great incentive. I'm glad that that's part of the
5:34
Speaker 1: new law. And I think that moving forward, we're going
5:37
Speaker 1: to see a lot more people blowing the whistle on
5:40
Speaker 1: these financial institutions. So tonight, we have an article from
5:45
Speaker 1: the Wall Street Journal. And the headline is, Capital One,
5:50
Speaker 1: Fine for Anti-Money Laundering Deficiencies. Isn't that nice? I said
5:55
Speaker 1: to open the program tonight that a lot of you
5:58
Speaker 1: probably have credit cards with Capital One. And this is
6:04
Speaker 1: the institution I was talking about, obviously Capital One. And again,
6:09
Speaker 1: how many of you have insanely high finance rates with
6:13
Speaker 1: these people. How many of you have been charged excess
6:16
Speaker 1: fees from these people? How many times have you been
6:19
Speaker 1: charged stupid fees like, oh, on a cash withdrawal, well,
6:24
Speaker 1: that's going to be an extra $ 12 fee. I mean,
6:27
Speaker 1: give me a break. They nickel and dime you to
6:29
Speaker 1: death while at the same time putting the screws to
6:33
Speaker 1: you with the finance rates. So... You'll never catch me
6:40
Speaker 1: crying for these financial institutions, especially these ones that are
6:45
Speaker 1: engaging in, you know, these sort of behaviors, these money
6:48
Speaker 1: laundering practices, hiding money, structuring money, and helping aid and
6:53
Speaker 1: abet criminal operations like Jeffrey Epstein's. Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement
7:01
Speaker 1: Network said the bank admitted it had failed to maintain
7:05
Speaker 1: effective controls in a check-cashing business. This article was authored
7:11
Speaker 1: by Anna Marie Andritis. The Treasury Department on Friday said
7:20
Speaker 1: it fined Capital One Financial Corporation for willfully failing to
7:24
Speaker 1: implement and maintain effective anti-money laundering controls. So this goes
7:31
Speaker 1: right to the heart of everything we've been talking about
7:34
Speaker 1: when it comes to the FinCEN files. Jeffrey Epstein's offshore
7:41
Speaker 1: businesses and offshore obvious shell companies. This goes right to
7:46
Speaker 1: the heart of that. Another one of these financial institutions
7:51
Speaker 1: that are not following the rules. Another one of these
7:54
Speaker 1: financial institutions that, while they're not following these rules, at
7:58
Speaker 1: the same time are crushing not only Americans but people worldwide.
8:05
Speaker 1: under just mountains and mountains of debt. All because those
8:10
Speaker 1: finance rates are absolutely ridiculous. And I'm not saying they
8:15
Speaker 1: shouldn't have any finance rates, right? Of course, they got
8:17
Speaker 1: to make their money. But 23%, 26%, it should be
8:21
Speaker 1: capped at like 15%. When you can go to a
8:25
Speaker 1: guy in the neighborhood and get a loan for 5%,
8:30
Speaker 1: why would you go to the bank and pay 10% more?
8:34
Speaker 1: And that's what poor people do, right? They'll go get
8:37
Speaker 1: money from check lending joints or they'll go get money
8:41
Speaker 1: from loan sharks putting money on the street depending on
8:45
Speaker 1: where you live, what part of the country or what
8:47
Speaker 1: part of the world. And meanwhile, these banks are, you know,
8:51
Speaker 1: waxing people at 26%. That's if they even accept your
8:56
Speaker 1: credit application. And you can't even speak to a person.
8:59
Speaker 1: Forget it. Send it in. it gets punched through some
9:03
Speaker 1: algorithm that they have, and bam, you're considered, oh, no
9:06
Speaker 1: credit for you. Or they're like, all right, this person's perfect.
9:10
Speaker 1: We know that this person is probably going to default,
9:14
Speaker 1: but let's slap them with a 29% credit finance rate,
9:19
Speaker 1: and we'll just, you know, we'll let the cards fall
9:23
Speaker 1: where they may. It's just, it's such a joke. And
9:29
Speaker 1: I think... instead of some of these other dumbass classes
9:33
Speaker 1: they teach you in high school, I think you should
9:35
Speaker 1: learn about stuff like that. I think that stuff is
9:38
Speaker 1: way more important than some of the other dumbass stuff
9:41
Speaker 1: we learn in high school. As part of the settlement,
9:48
Speaker 1: Capital One admitted that it willfully failed to file thousands
9:51
Speaker 1: of suspicious activity reports, according to the Treasury's Financial Crimes
9:56
Speaker 1: Enforcement Network. The allegations pertain to a check-cash group the
10:00
Speaker 1: Capital One acquired when it bought North Fork Bank in 2006.
10:06
Speaker 1: And the years are very interesting during the time that
10:10
Speaker 1: they were active here and when they got slapped for
10:14
Speaker 1: their Behavior for not filing these SARS. And as we've discussed.
10:19
Speaker 1: And laid out previously. Not filing those SARS is a
10:23
Speaker 1: big deal. It'll come back and slap you. Right in
10:24
Speaker 1: the old ASCII. If there ends up being. Some sort
10:29
Speaker 1: of malfeasance. and you weren't filing these SARs, and it
10:33
Speaker 1: looks like you were in bed with these people who
10:35
Speaker 1: end up getting clipped by Treasury or the Justice Department,
10:41
Speaker 1: then you're going to end up with a $ 390 million
10:45
Speaker 1: fine like Capital One. Now, while I think that has
10:49
Speaker 1: a lot more teeth in it than $ 130 million and
10:53
Speaker 1: $ 150 million, I think there needs to be penalties for
10:57
Speaker 1: the actual people who were involved. Whoever was the handling
11:03
Speaker 1: director who didn't let these SARS go through or told
11:08
Speaker 1: people to look the other way, has there been that
11:11
Speaker 1: kind of investigation? Of course not. I highly doubt it anyway.
11:15
Speaker 1: They pay their fine and they keep it moving. The
11:17
Speaker 1: fine keeps everything quiet, right? Money talks. Then that $ 390
11:22
Speaker 1: million ends up in Lord knows where, spread out across
11:26
Speaker 1: the bureaucracy and Who knows where the hell it ends
11:29
Speaker 1: up in reality. But I think that what I was
11:32
Speaker 1: saying earlier is a quality idea. I think there should
11:36
Speaker 1: be some sort of trust set up. And this money
11:38
Speaker 1: that is paid in fines goes into that trust. And
11:43
Speaker 1: not only that, the people who were in charge of
11:48
Speaker 1: making these deals possible, sending these deals through, shoehorning them through,
11:53
Speaker 1: those people need to be held responsible as well, in
11:56
Speaker 1: my opinion. I've had enough with the financial sector. My
12:01
Speaker 1: dad and I were just discussing this today. I was
12:03
Speaker 1: over at my parents' house for a little while, hanging
12:05
Speaker 1: out in the backyard, talking to my dad. And we
12:08
Speaker 1: were just discussing how these banksters have gotten away with
12:12
Speaker 1: this stuff for way too long. And I'm not talking about,
12:17
Speaker 1: you know, tar and feathering anybody or anything like that.
12:20
Speaker 1: But when they're caught doing something criminal, and obviously this
12:23
Speaker 1: is something criminal, $ 390 million for breaking anti-money laundering laws.
12:29
Speaker 1: then it can't just be the institution that's left holding
12:33
Speaker 1: the bag, the shareholders. While they should shoulder some of
12:37
Speaker 1: the blame, the people who are making these deals happen
12:41
Speaker 1: have to be held accountable. And we've never seen that
12:44
Speaker 1: through the whole entire financial meltdown, folks. And it's always
12:48
Speaker 1: stuck in my teeth that these people got off scot-free.
12:52
Speaker 1: None of them went to jail. None of them. Meanwhile...
12:56
Speaker 1: All of our 401ks were absolutely just decimated. And I
13:01
Speaker 1: know here in Las Vegas, forget it. Once that happened,
13:04
Speaker 1: it changed everything with hospitality in Las Vegas. The tips
13:11
Speaker 1: weren't the same. The clientele wasn't the same. People were
13:15
Speaker 1: a bit more guarded with their coin. And it never really,
13:19
Speaker 1: really recovered to what it used to be. There was
13:23
Speaker 1: a point in time in Las Vegas when I would
13:25
Speaker 1: leave my office when I was working at the Hard Rock.
13:27
Speaker 1: At one o'clock in the morning, it would be so
13:30
Speaker 1: slammed around this place called the Center Bar that you
13:33
Speaker 1: couldn't even move, fam. I mean, you could not move
13:36
Speaker 1: shoulder to shoulder, person to person, not moving. And then
13:41
Speaker 1: after that recession, after these banksters screwed everything up for us,
13:47
Speaker 1: it was never the same. And now fast forward to
13:50
Speaker 1: the year 2021. The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino doesn't
13:55
Speaker 1: even exist anymore. It was bought out by Richard Branson
14:00
Speaker 1: and Virgin. But my point is, there are lasting repercussions
14:07
Speaker 1: for the way these banksters have conducted themselves. And for
14:11
Speaker 1: them to only get fined and none of them ever
14:14
Speaker 1: go to prison is galling to me. And I don't
14:18
Speaker 1: see how everybody else who even takes just a little
14:21
Speaker 1: look At what's going on here. Isn't enraged. How isn't
14:25
Speaker 1: this one of the major issues. When we're voting. Finstead
14:35
Speaker 1: said that it had assessed. A $ 390 million penalty. But
14:39
Speaker 1: that it agreed to give Capital One credit. For a
14:42
Speaker 1: $ 100 million penalty it paid. To the Office of the
14:45
Speaker 1: Comptroller of the Currency. In 2018. The OCC is an
14:50
Speaker 1: independent branch of the Treasury. Again, isn't that nice? A
14:54
Speaker 1: hundred million dollar break. Oh, because it's a penalty paid
14:58
Speaker 1: to the comptroller. The OCC is an independent branch of
15:02
Speaker 1: the Treasury? Alright, so where did that money go? I
15:05
Speaker 1: wonder if we can file a Freedom of Information Act
15:11
Speaker 1: thing and see if we can get that information. Why
15:16
Speaker 1: in the hell Would they get a $ 100 million break?
15:19
Speaker 1: I don't care if they paid a penalty in 2018.
15:23
Speaker 1: What are you, the American government? Oh, well, $ 600, but
15:26
Speaker 1: then we're going to give you $ 1, 400 and make it $ 2, 000.
15:29
Speaker 1: Installments over here? That's BS. I don't want them getting
15:35
Speaker 1: no kind of break ever. Should be more money and
15:40
Speaker 1: people going to prison, not some kind of, oh, well,
15:43
Speaker 1: you paid another fine, so we're going to give you
15:45
Speaker 1: a break on this one. As if the treasury doesn't
15:49
Speaker 1: need the money, they spend it like a drunken sailor anyway.
15:52
Speaker 1: Have you taken a look at the debt lately? Capital
15:57
Speaker 1: One also acknowledged that its actions violated the Bank Secrecy Act.
16:02
Speaker 1: Now let me ask you a question. If you were
16:05
Speaker 1: in a legal battle with the federal government, and they
16:09
Speaker 1: had a bunch of charges against you, and one of
16:12
Speaker 1: the charges is you violating the Bank Secrecy Act, Okay?
16:18
Speaker 1: Money laundering. And you admitted to it. Do you think
16:22
Speaker 1: that you're only going to get slapped with a $ 390
16:24
Speaker 1: million fine where they slap $ 100 million off of it
16:27
Speaker 1: and then nobody goes to prison? Or do you think
16:30
Speaker 1: that you're going to be slapped with probably 5 to
16:32
Speaker 1: 10 years in prison and restitution? I know exactly which
16:37
Speaker 1: one it is, folks. And you know as well. You see,
16:41
Speaker 1: we don't have the same rulebook as our rulers in
16:46
Speaker 1: Silicon Valley do. And in the financial sector. These people
16:50
Speaker 1: play by their own rules. They think anyway. And they
16:53
Speaker 1: think we're all just going to sit back and accept it.
16:56
Speaker 1: Because for so long. That's exactly what we have done.
16:59
Speaker 1: We have sat back and accepted it. We have let
17:02
Speaker 1: these people rule over us. Lord over us. And completely
17:06
Speaker 1: dictate the course of our lives. But shit's starting to
17:12
Speaker 1: come to light. I think locking down billions. Literally billions
17:17
Speaker 1: of people. is going to have some serious, serious effects
17:21
Speaker 1: on their narrative. Financial institutions are required to work with
17:28
Speaker 1: the government to detect and prevent money laundering. The allegations
17:33
Speaker 1: cover practices between at least 2008 and 2014, the same
17:35
Speaker 1: year Capital One exited the check cashing business. So 2008
17:37
Speaker 1: and 2014, that was the first six years of Obama's reign.
17:48
Speaker 1: during all of the bailouts, during all of the helicopter
17:52
Speaker 1: money to the financial institutions, while Main Street got absolutely stuffed.
17:59
Speaker 1: And I wonder, did Capital One get a bailout? I'm
18:02
Speaker 1: not too positive. I'm going to have to look that up.
18:04
Speaker 1: But I bet you they did. At the same time
18:10
Speaker 1: that that was all going on, at the same time
18:13
Speaker 1: the financial institutions and the whole entire economy of America
18:19
Speaker 1: was absolutely rocked by the Great Recession. Capital One was
18:24
Speaker 1: engaging in avoiding SARS and money laundering, basically. But nobody's
18:32
Speaker 1: going to prison, huh? It's a joke. It's an absolute joke.
18:36
Speaker 1: I don't know how you could look at our legal system,
18:38
Speaker 1: and I don't care what your politics are. I don't
18:42
Speaker 1: care if you're the most ardent right-winger in or the
18:45
Speaker 1: most militant left-winger, or whatever have you in the middle.
18:49
Speaker 1: I don't know how you could look at our justice
18:50
Speaker 1: system and not see that it's absolutely destroyed. And I
18:54
Speaker 1: think that's something that everybody agrees on. So why don't
18:57
Speaker 1: we start working on some of the shit we agree on,
19:00
Speaker 1: and then we'll get to some of the stuff on
19:02
Speaker 1: the fringes where we don't agree. But I know that's
19:05
Speaker 1: not cool right now, right? It's not the in thing
19:10
Speaker 1: to talk about coming together and having some detente. That's
19:15
Speaker 1: not the cool thing. It's an all-or-nothing game now. Crazy.
19:19
Speaker 1: Absolutely crazy. Finson said Capital One's actions caused millions of
19:27
Speaker 1: dollars in suspicious transactions to go unreported in a timely
19:31
Speaker 1: and accurate manner, including proceeds connected to organized crime, tax evasion, fraud,
19:37
Speaker 1: and other financial crimes laundered through the bank into the U.S.
19:41
Speaker 1: financial system. Think about what I just read to you folks, okay?
19:45
Speaker 1: This is Capital One. We're not talking some little rinky-dink... institution.
19:51
Speaker 1: We're not talking about some country where they have a
19:55
Speaker 1: bunch of known problems like this. Right here in the
20:00
Speaker 1: good old U.S.A. While everybody's hating their neighbors, these dirty,
20:08
Speaker 1: rotten sons of bitches Are continuing to pilfer our wealth.
20:16
Speaker 1: How many more examples. Are going to be needed. Before
20:20
Speaker 1: people realize. That we're being okie doke. Capital One's egregious failures.
20:29
Speaker 1: Allowed known criminals. To use and abuse. Our nation's financial system. Unchecked.
20:35
Speaker 1: Thinson's director Kenneth Blanco. Said in a statement. Look. Look.
20:39
Speaker 1: If that's the case, Mr. Blanco, then can we get
20:43
Speaker 1: some arrests? Can somebody go to prison from Capital One?
20:47
Speaker 1: Or is it just going to be another one of
20:49
Speaker 1: these fines where the executives don't care what? They're missing
20:53
Speaker 1: a meal? They're not buying the other cool piece of
20:56
Speaker 1: art that their friend has down over at Leon Black's auction?
21:01
Speaker 1: They don't care about this fine. It's not coming out
21:03
Speaker 1: of their pocket. The shareholders are paying it. Thinson said
21:11
Speaker 1: Capital One was aware of the money laundering risks associated
21:15
Speaker 1: with the check cashing group in part because of warnings
21:18
Speaker 1: by regulators and criminal charges against some customers. Yeah, that'll
21:23
Speaker 1: do it, huh? A few criminal charges against some of
21:26
Speaker 1: your clientele should start ringing some alarm bells. Unless of
21:32
Speaker 1: course you don't care. Unless of course you just want
21:38
Speaker 1: More money on top of more money on top of
21:41
Speaker 1: the wealth that you have stolen from the working class
21:44
Speaker 1: and the upper middle class in the last year. I'm
21:51
Speaker 1: going to guess it's that option. Finston said the bank
21:56
Speaker 1: acknowledged failing to file suspicious activity reports. even when it
22:00
Speaker 1: had knowledge of criminal charges against customers, including a convicted
22:07
Speaker 1: associate of the Genovese organized crime family. Well, what do
22:13
Speaker 1: you know? You got an associate of the Genovese crime family,
22:19
Speaker 1: and they're not sorry on him. They're not doing anything
22:21
Speaker 1: like that. Not in the least. Yeah, your business is
22:24
Speaker 1: good with us. No worries there, paisano. We're all good.
22:32
Speaker 1: If it's a known associate of the Genovese family, you
22:37
Speaker 1: probably shouldn't be doing business with them at one of
22:39
Speaker 1: these institutions. I mean, I'm just saying, right? Nothing against
22:43
Speaker 1: my boy, right? Nothing against Paisano. I have nothing against
22:46
Speaker 1: people in the life, right? Look, you got to make
22:49
Speaker 1: a dollar. And you know what? Hey, who am I
22:51
Speaker 1: to judge? But what I will say is this. You
22:54
Speaker 1: probably should not be doing business with them if you're
22:58
Speaker 1: an institution like Capital One. You really need that nonsense
23:03
Speaker 1: for the few dollars that you're going to get out
23:04
Speaker 1: of this guy? So what it boils down to is, A,
23:10
Speaker 1: they're either so stupid, every single one of these institutions
23:13
Speaker 1: is just so stupid that it's unimaginable, or they're all
23:19
Speaker 1: in on the hustle. I'm going to go with all
23:22
Speaker 1: in on the hustle. That's my opinion. I might be wrong,
23:24
Speaker 1: but that is my opinion. A Capital One spokeswoman said,
23:30
Speaker 1: said the bank takes its anti-money laundering obligations seriously. Oh, obviously.
23:35
Speaker 1: I mean, we're talking serious as a winter climb and
23:38
Speaker 1: summit of the mountain K2, obviously. That's how serious you
23:41
Speaker 1: take it. $ 390 million later, the bank has invested heavily
23:48
Speaker 1: in the enhancements of its AML program over the past
23:51
Speaker 1: several years under new AML leadership and has worked closely
23:56
Speaker 1: with regulators, and law enforcement to ensure our compliance processes
24:01
Speaker 1: and protocols are robust and thorough. Oh, well, if that's
24:07
Speaker 1: the case, then everyone can pack it up and nobody
24:09
Speaker 1: should ever investigate these people ever again. I mean, you know,
24:12
Speaker 1: no big deal. They said that they have it all
24:15
Speaker 1: wrapped up. They said that they fixed it. It's all
24:17
Speaker 1: taken care of. These people have some gall, the audacity,
24:25
Speaker 1: to think that anyone, should trust the banking system. These
24:30
Speaker 1: people truly believe that this narrative that they're pitching, like, oh,
24:35
Speaker 1: it's just a mistake. We have no idea. And now
24:38
Speaker 1: our regulations are super better and well maintained. No, they're not. Literally,
24:46
Speaker 1: right now, as we speak, I guarantee you, in my
24:48
Speaker 1: opinion anyway, that there is numerous financial crimes occurring through
24:55
Speaker 1: Capital One as we speak. as in, as with the
24:58
Speaker 1: rest of the financial scumbaggery banks that we talk about
25:02
Speaker 1: on a regular basis. And I think the receipts back
25:06
Speaker 1: those opinions up. She said the bank had set aside
25:14
Speaker 1: money to fully cover the fine and that it has
25:16
Speaker 1: already paid the Finson penalty, adding that there is no
25:19
Speaker 1: further financial impact to the company. That's what it's all about.
25:23
Speaker 1: Read between the lines. It's about what the shareholders think.
25:26
Speaker 1: It's about the slide that the company went through right
25:28
Speaker 1: when this was announced, a couple percent. It's about letting
25:31
Speaker 1: the boardroom know everything is stable. We have a war chest.
25:35
Speaker 1: We're going to pay for this and we're going to
25:37
Speaker 1: move on like everybody else. It's going to be all good.
25:40
Speaker 1: We'll be able to engage in more money laundering in
25:42
Speaker 1: about four or five months. Don't you worry. Capital One
25:48
Speaker 1: disclosed several years ago that it was under investigation by Finson,
25:53
Speaker 1: as well as the New York District Attorney's Office, and
25:56
Speaker 1: the Justice Department over anti-money laundering practices related to former
26:01
Speaker 1: check casher clients. The bank said Friday's settlement is the
26:06
Speaker 1: last remaining government inquiry related to this check cashing group. So,
26:12
Speaker 1: it's the last one, and I guess we should just
26:14
Speaker 1: move on. No more penalties. They paid their $ 290 million,
26:17
Speaker 1: their $ 390 million. So that's it. Let's just move on.
26:22
Speaker 1: Why are you carrying on about it? It's over and
26:24
Speaker 1: done with. They paid their penalty. Not good enough for me.
26:29
Speaker 1: And that's why it's important that our lawmakers understand that
26:34
Speaker 1: it's not good enough for any of us anymore. The
26:40
Speaker 1: absolute amount of wealth that has been transferred up, folks,
26:45
Speaker 1: in the last year is terrifying. And the more power
26:50
Speaker 1: we give to these banks... the more freedom, financially and otherwise,
26:57
Speaker 1: we're ceding. And when you give power to tyrants, they
27:01
Speaker 1: never give it back. So we really need to hope
27:08
Speaker 1: that the new anti-money laundering laws have teeth, and that
27:12
Speaker 1: not only the institutions have to pay a penalty, but
27:16
Speaker 1: the people who were engaging in making sure that this
27:20
Speaker 1: laundered money moved in the shadows... and without any curious
27:25
Speaker 1: eyes upon it, are also facing repercussions for their misdeeds.

28:00
Speaker 1: to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. You ever notice
28:04
Speaker 1: how these Wall Street vampires like Bank of America and
28:08
Speaker 1: Bank of New York Mellon always act shocked, shocked, when
28:12
Speaker 1: one of their high-valued clients turns out to be a
28:14
Speaker 1: full-blown monster? Oh, they'll clutch their pearls like debutantes at
28:19
Speaker 1: a scandal ball, pretending they had no clue the creep
28:21
Speaker 1: they were wiring millions for was knee-deep in trafficking, bribery,
28:26
Speaker 1: and God knows what else. Like they didn't just spend
28:29
Speaker 1: a decade rolling out the red carpet, helping him shuffle
28:32
Speaker 1: blood money around like it was Monopoly cash. What we're
28:35
Speaker 1: talking about here aren't innocent bankers. We're talking about a
28:39
Speaker 1: concierge service for evil. Epstein wasn't some fluke. Rather, he
28:43
Speaker 1: was a customer profile. Wealthy, check, connected, check, morally bankrupt,
28:48
Speaker 1: perfect fit. And the way they played dumb... afterwards is
28:53
Speaker 1: almost artful. We had no idea about Mr. Epstein's activities, really?
28:58
Speaker 1: The guy's reputation was radioactive before half your junior analysts
29:02
Speaker 1: even graduated. You expect us to believe that your multi-billion
29:06
Speaker 1: dollar compliance department, equipped with forensic accountants, more lawyers than
29:10
Speaker 1: a courthouse, just missed the red flags? The shell companies,
29:14
Speaker 1: the donations to random charities, the constant wires to young women? Hell,
29:19
Speaker 1: Even a Walmart cashier would have called a manager after
29:22
Speaker 1: seeing that kind of pattern. But you? You saw the money.
29:25
Speaker 1: You saw the name. And you decided your moral compass
29:29
Speaker 1: could take the night off. Look, Bank of America and
29:33
Speaker 1: Bank of New York Mellon didn't just look the other way.
29:35
Speaker 1: They held the flashlight. They processed the payments. They managed
29:39
Speaker 1: his accounts. And they made sure the whole grotesque operation
29:42
Speaker 1: ran smooth as silk. You can practically hear the pitch
29:45
Speaker 1: meetings now. Yes, sir. We can help structure that offshore account.
29:49
Speaker 1: And would you like to bundle that with our Predators'
29:52
Speaker 1: preferred wealth management package? They weren't blind. They were busy.
29:56
Speaker 1: Busy making money. Busy calculating risk. Busy figuring out how
30:01
Speaker 1: to keep one of the world's most notorious scumbags as
30:03
Speaker 1: a client without getting their own hands caught in the
30:05
Speaker 1: cookie jar. Spoiler, they failed. And now, when it all
30:10
Speaker 1: blows up, they do what corporate America always does. Call
30:14
Speaker 1: in the crisis PR team. Cue the sad piano music
30:17
Speaker 1: and the empty statement. We take these allegations very seriously. Yeah, sure.
30:22
Speaker 1: You take them seriously. The same way a fentanyl addict
30:25
Speaker 1: takes his health seriously. Next will be the promise of
30:28
Speaker 1: an internal review. which we all know is code for
30:31
Speaker 1: let's make sure nobody important gets burned. They'll settle for
30:34
Speaker 1: a fine that costs less than a single quarter's earnings,
30:37
Speaker 1: and they'll call it justice. The executives will keep their bonuses,
30:40
Speaker 1: the shareholders will nod, and the cycle rolls on. Epstein's
30:44
Speaker 1: money might be gone, but his ghost is still cashing checks. Look,
30:49
Speaker 1: these banks weren't victims, they were architects. They were the
30:52
Speaker 1: ones pouring concrete into the foundation of corruption, setting up accounts,
30:56
Speaker 1: legitimizing cash flow. laundering reputation and money in the same breath.
31:01
Speaker 1: Epstein's empire couldn't have existed without a network of bankers
31:04
Speaker 1: willing to look the other way while pocketing their cut.
31:07
Speaker 1: That's the dirty secret. The real enablers didn't wear sweatpants
31:11
Speaker 1: on private islands. They wore $ 1, 000 suits in boardrooms. They're
31:16
Speaker 1: the ones who smile politely while helping a predator keep
31:19
Speaker 1: his books clean and his crimes funded. And now, here
31:22
Speaker 1: they are trying to reinvent themselves as bastions of integrity.
31:27
Speaker 1: Bank of America suddenly cares about ethics? Bank of New
31:30
Speaker 1: York Mellon? Moral guardians of finance? Please. These same people
31:34
Speaker 1: will lecture you on financial literacy while their own institutions
31:37
Speaker 1: were practically the accounting department for an international trafficking ring.
31:42
Speaker 1: So yeah, I'm done buying the excuses. These weren't accidents.
31:45
Speaker 1: They weren't oversights. They were choices. Deliberate, profitable, soulless choices.
31:51
Speaker 1: They made millions off Epstein's network, off the stench of
31:54
Speaker 1: corruption that's still clinging to their vaults like mold. And
31:58
Speaker 1: no matter how you chop it, Bank of America and
32:01
Speaker 1: Bank of New York Mellon were Epstein laundromats. They didn't
32:04
Speaker 1: clean his image, they just made sure the stains didn't
32:06
Speaker 1: show on the balance sheets. And now they stand there
32:10
Speaker 1: acting like it's ancient history, like we're supposed to forget?
32:13
Speaker 1: The truth is, every dollar they moved for that man
32:16
Speaker 1: was another nail in the coffin of accountability. Epstein's gone,
32:20
Speaker 1: but his money's fingerprints are still on the ledger. And
32:23
Speaker 1: the saddest part? No one in those towers is ever
32:26
Speaker 1: going to face real consequences. Not the execs, not the managers,
32:29
Speaker 1: not the compliance officers who would approve. Just another scandal
32:33
Speaker 1: to file away, another round of denials and PR spin.
32:36
Speaker 1: Business as usual. Dirty money, clean hands. That's the American
32:41
Speaker 1: banking way. Today's article is from the New York Post
32:45
Speaker 1: and the headline. Bank of America, BNY, sued over alleged
32:49
Speaker 1: ties to Jeffrey Epstein. This article was authored by Aria Zilber.
32:55
Speaker 1: A woman who says Jeffrey Epstein sexually abused her at
32:59
Speaker 1: least 100 times is suing Bank of America and Bank
33:02
Speaker 1: of New York Mellon over their alleged ties to the
33:04
Speaker 1: convicted predator, accusing the banks of maintaining relationships with him
33:09
Speaker 1: and failing to report suspicious activities until after his death
33:13
Speaker 1: in 2019. Well, all of that's true. Good luck trying
33:17
Speaker 1: to defend that. We know that's a fact. We know
33:19
Speaker 1: that Epstein was moving money through these banks. We know
33:22
Speaker 1: that these banks weren't filling out the SARs And we
33:26
Speaker 1: know that there was no kind of compliance when it
33:29
Speaker 1: comes to Epstein, which is crazy as hell, considering that
33:33
Speaker 1: when you're in a position like that, one of those
33:34
Speaker 1: banks and you have those compliance offices, that's the whole point, right?
33:38
Speaker 1: To make sure that you're not moving dirty money. I mean,
33:43
Speaker 1: when I was managing the sports book, we had the
33:45
Speaker 1: same kind of compliance issues. Like if I thought somebody
33:49
Speaker 1: was using drug money to make a bet, say you
33:53
Speaker 1: walked in and you plopped down a bag of money
33:55
Speaker 1: and it smelled like pot I would have to file
33:57
Speaker 1: a SAR. And then that would go to FinCEN and
34:01
Speaker 1: then whatever happened from there happened. But I covered my
34:04
Speaker 1: ass by filing that SAR. And we're not talking about
34:08
Speaker 1: millions of dollars here, folks. Meanwhile, you have Jeffrey Epstein
34:12
Speaker 1: moving this money all over the place, sending it to
34:14
Speaker 1: God knows who. And there is no compliance. There is
34:17
Speaker 1: no management of that. The class action lawsuit filed in
34:22
Speaker 1: Manhattan federal court on Wednesday on behalf of a Jane
34:25
Speaker 1: Doe and other alleged Epstein survivors claimed that Sicko couldn't
34:29
Speaker 1: have run his trafficking operation without special treatment from banks,
34:33
Speaker 1: including the defendants. This is the right way to go.
34:37
Speaker 1: If you're really looking for the boogeyman here, you found him.
34:40
Speaker 1: The financial sector is to blame. Now, of course, not
34:45
Speaker 1: the whole blame, right? But the vast majority of it.
34:48
Speaker 1: They're the ones that protected his money. They're the ones
34:50
Speaker 1: that moved the money. They're the ones that made it
34:52
Speaker 1: possible for him to do what he did. And I've
34:56
Speaker 1: been telling you folks that for years. Let other people
35:00
Speaker 1: talk about nonsense and cabals and this, that, the other thing.
35:03
Speaker 1: That's what these financial sector dickheads want. They want you
35:06
Speaker 1: chasing ghosts. And while you're busy doing that, they're going
35:09
Speaker 1: to continue to swim in their money like Scrooge fucking McDuck.
35:14
Speaker 1: The complaint against Bank of America, the second biggest bank
35:16
Speaker 1: in the U.S., graphically describes the sexual violence Epstein allegedly
35:20
Speaker 1: inflicted on the plaintiff. From 2011 through 2019, Epstein sexually
35:27
Speaker 1: abused Jane Doe on at least 100 occasions, including but
35:31
Speaker 1: not limited to forcibly touching her, forcibly raping her, and
35:35
Speaker 1: forcing her to engage in sexual acts with other women
35:38
Speaker 1: for his own depraved sexual gratification, the lawsuit stated. Well,
35:43
Speaker 1: all of that's exactly what Epstein was up to. So
35:46
Speaker 1: I have no doubt that, Jane Doe's telling the truth.
35:48
Speaker 1: And my guess is Bank of America and Mellon, they're
35:52
Speaker 1: going to end up settling. I highly doubt this turns
35:55
Speaker 1: into a trial or even gets to a point where
35:58
Speaker 1: it becomes contentious. We've all seen what happens with the
36:03
Speaker 1: banks already. And they don't have a good track record
36:05
Speaker 1: when it comes to dealing with these kinds of allegations.
36:09
Speaker 1: They just pay the fine, right? Whatever it's going to be.
36:11
Speaker 1: And that's because it's better for them. They don't have
36:14
Speaker 1: to go through the rigmarole of discovery. they don't have
36:17
Speaker 1: to be outed, you know, emails aren't going to be
36:19
Speaker 1: made public. So I expect a settlement at some point,
36:22
Speaker 1: maybe not right away, but I definitely expect there to
36:25
Speaker 1: be a settlement. The document also cites previous reports to
36:29
Speaker 1: illustrate the scale of the sicko's alleged crimes, noting that
36:33
Speaker 1: Epstein had been sexually abusing three to four young females
36:36
Speaker 1: per day. It was a full-time job for him, the
36:39
Speaker 1: suit stated. The plaintiff is going by Jane Doe, because
36:43
Speaker 1: of the highly sensitive and personal nature of the matter.
36:48
Speaker 1: And concerns about possible retaliation, the suit said. Always a concern.
36:53
Speaker 1: Whenever you're dealing with a bank, for sure. Especially when
36:56
Speaker 1: you're dealing with a bank and it has to do
36:57
Speaker 1: with Epstein. You never know what's coming your way. So
37:00
Speaker 1: these women, they're very cautious about, you know, releasing their names.
37:04
Speaker 1: And in most cases, the court has agreed to grant
37:07
Speaker 1: them anonymity because they understand how dangerous it is for them. Now,
37:11
Speaker 1: if you juxtapose that with Diddy, you see how many
37:14
Speaker 1: people were forced to reveal their identity. And that's because
37:17
Speaker 1: the court obviously believes that Diddy doesn't have the ability
37:22
Speaker 1: to press people the way that Epstein did. And that's
37:24
Speaker 1: why you see this almost blanket immunity for Epstein's victims.
37:28
Speaker 1: And also, a lot of them were underage. So that
37:32
Speaker 1: is a huge factor when you're weighing anonymity inside of
37:35
Speaker 1: the courtroom, right? And with a lot of Diddy's accusers,
37:38
Speaker 1: they didn't meet the legal threshold. to keep that shield
37:42
Speaker 1: of anonymity. And it just goes to show you the
37:44
Speaker 1: level here that Epstein was operating at. Spokespersons for Bank
37:49
Speaker 1: of America and BNY Mellon had no immediate comment. Now
37:53
Speaker 1: imagine being somebody that tries to get, I don't know,
37:55
Speaker 1: a credit card from Bank of America or Bank of Mellon,
37:59
Speaker 1: and they deny you. Meanwhile, they're out here processing Epstein's
38:03
Speaker 1: money after everybody knew he was a diddler. No big deal,
38:06
Speaker 1: as long as he's bringing money in. Now you, how
38:10
Speaker 1: dare you be poor? How dare you have a credit
38:12
Speaker 1: score of 600? You're not getting shit from us. It's
38:16
Speaker 1: amazing to me that folks don't understand who the real
38:19
Speaker 1: villain is in not just this story, but just about
38:22
Speaker 1: every story. The legal action centers on claims that Jane
38:27
Speaker 1: Doe Plaintiff opened a Bank of America account in May
38:30
Speaker 1: of 2013 at the instruction of Epstein's accountant, adding that
38:34
Speaker 1: he transferred about $ 14, 000 into it. Epstein and the accountant
38:39
Speaker 1: continued to use the account set up for the woman
38:42
Speaker 1: at the bank for years, including one that lasted until 2019,
38:45
Speaker 1: the year Epstein committed suicide, allegedly, in a Manhattan jail cell,
38:51
Speaker 1: the suit said. News of the Bank of America lawsuit,
38:55
Speaker 1: which seeks unspecified financial damages, was first reported by the
38:59
Speaker 1: Wall Street Journal. The new cases add to the growing
39:03
Speaker 1: legal fallout over Epstein's banking relationships. Well, yeah, look, You
39:07
Speaker 1: can't do what he did without having the financial support
39:10
Speaker 1: of the financial sector. And it wasn't just one bank
39:13
Speaker 1: or one institution. It was many. They all knew the deal.
39:18
Speaker 1: And once again, they did not care. The latest suits
39:24
Speaker 1: were brought by lawyers including Brad Edwards and David Boies
39:27
Speaker 1: who have represented many of Epstein's victims. and previously filed
39:31
Speaker 1: similar class action suits against JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank
39:34
Speaker 1: in 2022. The other banks responsible for allowing Epstein's trafficking
39:40
Speaker 1: should have contacted us during the previous litigation to do
39:43
Speaker 1: the right thing for these victims, Edwards told the journal.
39:46
Speaker 1: It's sad that only through lawsuits in Congress... Are we
39:49
Speaker 1: able to bring justice to the obvious problem? He added.
39:53
Speaker 1: And it is sad. If these banks really cared, if
39:56
Speaker 1: they wanted to do the right thing, they would have
39:58
Speaker 1: stepped up. Hey, look, we were banking Epstein. We didn't
40:01
Speaker 1: really know what was going on. Here's our books. Here's
40:04
Speaker 1: what was happening. And we're willing to take whatever punishments
40:07
Speaker 1: coming our way. But no, what they'll do is they'll
40:11
Speaker 1: lobby lawmakers. They'll lobby this one and that one, the
40:13
Speaker 1: Justice Department. And you'll see, it'll just be a fine.
40:17
Speaker 1: Nobody's going to be held accountable. The plaintiffs accused BNY
40:21
Speaker 1: of giving a line of credit to the modeling agency MC2.
40:24
Speaker 1: Epstein and French model scout Jean-Luc Brunel allegedly used the
40:28
Speaker 1: agency to traffic victims as BNY processed $ 378 million in
40:33
Speaker 1: payments to women trafficked by Epstein. The suit cited Federal
40:38
Speaker 1: Trafficking Victims Protection Act, the main U.S. law targeting sex trafficking.
40:43
Speaker 1: It enables women or victims to sue not only their traffickers,
40:47
Speaker 1: but anyone who knowingly benefits from a sex trafficking venture too.
40:51
Speaker 1: The complaints included related tort claims under New York law,
40:54
Speaker 1: which the federal court has jurisdiction to hear alongside the
40:59
Speaker 1: federal courts. Previous suits against big banks resulted in settlements.
41:04
Speaker 1: JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank have said that they regret
41:07
Speaker 1: their relationship with Epstein and settled the suits in 2023
41:10
Speaker 1: without admitting wrongdoing. J.P. Morgan agreed to pay $ 290 million
41:15
Speaker 1: to victims, while Deutsche Bank paid $ 75 million. Epstein's estate
41:21
Speaker 1: recently provided Congress a list of more than 20 banks
41:24
Speaker 1: that held accounts for the perverted financier, pedophile, and entities
41:28
Speaker 1: related to him. Several banks had accounts for Epstein in
41:32
Speaker 1: his later years, according to the journal. I just can't
41:35
Speaker 1: even wrap my mind around that. Like, imagine being the
41:39
Speaker 1: guy who makes that call. Oh yeah, let's take Jeffrey
41:42
Speaker 1: Epstein's business. Sounds like a great idea. Never mind the
41:46
Speaker 1: trail of fucking tears he's left in his wake. We
41:50
Speaker 1: can make some money here. Banks are required to monitor
41:54
Speaker 1: and report suspicious activities to avoid enabling money laundering and
41:58
Speaker 1: other criminal activity. Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Senator Ron
42:03
Speaker 1: Wyden recently revealed that several banks filed suspicious activity reports,
42:08
Speaker 1: or SARs, after Epstein's 2019 arrest. Years after, the transactions occurred. Well,
42:14
Speaker 1: that was by design. Oh, we forgot to file these
42:17
Speaker 1: back in, you know, 2004, but here it is, 2019.
42:21
Speaker 1: Let's get to work. Bank of America filed reports in
42:27
Speaker 1: 2020 covering $ 150 million in transactions between Jeffrey Epstein and
42:32
Speaker 1: billionaire investor Leon Black, the former CEO of Apollo Global Management. Oh,
42:38
Speaker 1: you know, his son works for the Trump administration now.
42:41
Speaker 1: No conflict of interest here. A review by Apollo's board
42:45
Speaker 1: found that Black paid Epstein for estate planning and tax services. Really?
42:50
Speaker 1: Leon Black paid Jeffrey Epstein for tax advice and estate
42:54
Speaker 1: planning advice? That seems legit. One of the richest men
42:58
Speaker 1: in the world? One of the most powerful men in
43:00
Speaker 1: the world? Onboarding Jeffrey Epstein to take care of his finances? Okay,
43:06
Speaker 1: I guess. House Judiciary Committee ranking member Jamie Raskin recently
43:11
Speaker 1: sent letters to the CEOs of BNY Mellon, Bank of America,
43:15
Speaker 1: JP Morgan, and Deutsche Bank, asking how Epstein and his
43:19
Speaker 1: associates were able to conduct more than $ 1. 5 billion in
43:23
Speaker 1: suspicious transactions for years without detection. The House Judiciary Committee
43:28
Speaker 1: has deliberated sending subpoenas to the banks after internal congressional
43:31
Speaker 1: memos showed repeated delays in reporting large transfers tied to
43:36
Speaker 1: Epstein and his network. Well, yeah. No shit. Dude was
43:41
Speaker 1: moving money all over the place paying co-conspirators, and only
43:44
Speaker 1: the baby Jesus knows who else. Last year, the New
43:47
Speaker 1: York Times revealed that Bank of America processed Epstein-related payments
43:51
Speaker 1: through at least 2018. Despite earlier internal warnings about cash
43:56
Speaker 1: withdrawals and transfers to accounts linked to young women. Again,
44:00
Speaker 1: no big deal. Profit over people. As long as we
44:03
Speaker 1: can make a few bucks, hey, we're here for it.
44:07
Speaker 1: Senate investigators have demanded the bank explain how it handled
44:11
Speaker 1: those transactions and whether any of its compliance staff raised
44:15
Speaker 1: concerns internally before Epstein's death. In a letter released this month,
44:20
Speaker 1: Wyden said financial institutions must show the public they are
44:24
Speaker 1: not shielding the powerful and connected from accountability. He called
44:28
Speaker 1: on the Treasury Department to release all Epstein-related financial records
44:32
Speaker 1: still under seal. Well, that's a good idea. Release it all.
44:36
Speaker 1: Follow the money. And if you do that, well, you're
44:39
Speaker 1: going to find the real villain. And like I've been
44:42
Speaker 1: telling you for years now, the real villain here isn't
44:45
Speaker 1: the boogeyman under your bed. It's not your neighbor. No,
44:49
Speaker 1: it's these people that we're talking about right now. The
44:51
Speaker 1: people that knew what Jeffrey Epstein was and continue to
44:54
Speaker 1: do business with them anyway. And you know what the
44:57
Speaker 1: saddest part is? These banks, Bank of America, Bank of
45:00
Speaker 1: New York Mellon, they're going to walk away from all
45:02
Speaker 1: of this without so much as a scratch. A few headlines,
45:05
Speaker 1: a couple of settlements, maybe some retraining sessions on ethics,
45:09
Speaker 1: led by the same people who greenlit Epstein's wire transfers.
45:14
Speaker 1: And then it's right back to business. They'll keep cashing
45:17
Speaker 1: in on the next scumbag who strolls through the door
45:19
Speaker 1: wearing a Rolex and wreaking a scandal, because as long
45:23
Speaker 1: as the money's green, nobody cares where it comes from.
45:26
Speaker 1: That's the golden rule of finance. Morality is negotiable, but
45:29
Speaker 1: interest rates aren't. And the rest of us, we're supposed
45:34
Speaker 1: to just sit here and pretend that it's all normal.
45:37
Speaker 1: Pretend that billion-dollar institutions didn't know. Pretend the same people
45:40
Speaker 1: who'll flag your debit card for buying a sandwich out
45:43
Speaker 1: of state somehow missed Epstein moving millions from a shell
45:46
Speaker 1: company named after his pet iguana. Yeah, okay. These people
45:51
Speaker 1: don't just insult your intelligence. They mug it in broad daylight.
45:55
Speaker 1: But that's the game, isn't it? They run the world.
45:58
Speaker 1: They write the rules. And when they get caught, they
46:01
Speaker 1: buy the judge, rewrite the script, and call it a misunderstanding.
46:05
Speaker 1: They talk about accountability the same way an arsonist talks
46:07
Speaker 1: about fire safety. And we all know how it ends.
46:10
Speaker 1: No arrests, no handcuffs, no real consequences. Just another press
46:16
Speaker 1: release about moving forward. Meanwhile, the rest of us get
46:19
Speaker 1: lectured about financial responsibility by the same crooks who turned
46:23
Speaker 1: a predator into a preferred client. So yeah, forgive me
46:27
Speaker 1: if I'm not buying the whole we had no idea routine.
46:30
Speaker 1: Epstein might be gone. But the machine that made him possible,
46:33
Speaker 1: still humming, still counting, still cashing in. And the banks,
46:37
Speaker 1: they're right there, polishing the gears and smiling for the cameras.
46:42
Speaker 1: The only difference now is they're a little quieter about it.
46:46
Speaker 1: Like vampires after dawn waiting for the next fool to
46:49
Speaker 1: invite them back in. All of the information that goes
46:53
Speaker 1: with this episode can be found in the description box.
46:56
Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
46:59
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. One of the people that has benefited greatly
47:04
Speaker 1: when it comes to all the silence surrounding the Epstein
47:07
Speaker 1: files over the years is none other than Leon Black.
47:11
Speaker 1: And he's been able to avoid the maelstrom for the
47:13
Speaker 1: most part due to his great wealth and the connections
47:17
Speaker 1: that he has with powerful people, including his own son,
47:22
Speaker 1: who's part of the Trump administration. So for all these years,
47:26
Speaker 1: Leon Black has pretty much been above reproach When it
47:30
Speaker 1: comes to Jeffrey Epstein. Well now people are starting to
47:33
Speaker 1: ask questions. And finally after all these years. It looks
47:38
Speaker 1: like Leon Black is about to be deposed. In the
47:41
Speaker 1: lawsuit that's been filed. Against Bank of America by the
47:45
Speaker 1: Epstein survivors. Now until Leon Black is actually in the room.
47:51
Speaker 1: Being deposed I have my doubts. But certainly a step
47:55
Speaker 1: in the right direction here. Because if anybody should be deposed,
47:59
Speaker 1: if anybody should be brought in, if anybody should be investigated,
48:03
Speaker 1: Leon Black should be near the top of that list.
48:08
Speaker 1: He was somebody that wasn't just, you know, friendly with Epstein.
48:12
Speaker 1: He was somebody that was on the inside. He was
48:15
Speaker 1: somebody that Epstein considered a confidant and vice versa. And
48:20
Speaker 1: we also know that Leon Black has been accused of
48:23
Speaker 1: also partaking in the abuse of So we're not just
48:27
Speaker 1: talking about financial crimes here. We're talking about somebody that's
48:30
Speaker 1: been accused of actually abusing girls that were in Epstein's orbit. Now,
48:36
Speaker 1: of course, none of those allegations have been proven in
48:39
Speaker 1: a court of law. But the allegations remain. And the
48:43
Speaker 1: fact that Leon Black hasn't had to sit down for
48:46
Speaker 1: a deposition, hasn't had to answer any questions, is unacceptable.
48:52
Speaker 1: So hopefully now that's going to change. But until he's
48:55
Speaker 1: actually sitting in that room and we have a transcript,
48:59
Speaker 1: I have my doubts. This article was published by NBC
49:03
Speaker 1: News and the headline, Leon Black, billionaire financier, to be
49:07
Speaker 1: deposed in Epstein victim suit against Bank of America. Now,
49:12
Speaker 1: this is part of the lawsuit that was filed against
49:15
Speaker 1: Bank of America and NY Mellon, but NY Mellon was
49:19
Speaker 1: dropped from that lawsuit. But Bank of America has been
49:23
Speaker 1: ordered to defend themselves now in a court of law
49:26
Speaker 1: over these allegations. And considering what we've seen in the
49:29
Speaker 1: past when it comes to these banks, they'll just pay
49:32
Speaker 1: a gigantic fee and keep it moving. Nobody's ever going
49:35
Speaker 1: to get in trouble. Nobody's going to prison. and certainly
49:39
Speaker 1: not Leon Black. This article was authored by Chloe Atkins.
49:45
Speaker 1: Leon Black, the former CEO of Apollo Global Management and
49:49
Speaker 1: an associate of Jeffrey Epstein, was ordered to be deposed
49:53
Speaker 1: in a lawsuit brought by a woman who alleged that
49:55
Speaker 1: Bank of America facilitated and profited from Epstein's sex trafficking enterprise. Look,
50:02
Speaker 1: there's no doubt in my mind that Bank of America
50:05
Speaker 1: knew what Epstein was up to and didn't care. The
50:08
Speaker 1: whole financial sector doesn't care. Not just Bank of America.
50:13
Speaker 1: Not just JP Morgan. The whole ass financial sector. They
50:18
Speaker 1: care about one thing. Making money. That's it. And if
50:21
Speaker 1: that means turning the other cheek to a trafficking operation,
50:25
Speaker 1: then so be it. These are the same people that
50:29
Speaker 1: are funding both sides of every war that you've ever
50:32
Speaker 1: heard of. You think they care about your kids being
50:35
Speaker 1: trafficked by somebody like Epstein? They most certainly do not. U.S.
50:39
Speaker 1: District Judge Jed Rakoff ruled Wednesday in New York that
50:42
Speaker 1: Black will give sworn testimony later this month. The deposition
50:46
Speaker 1: is expected to last up to eight hours, with five
50:49
Speaker 1: hours allocated for the victim's legal team and three hours
50:53
Speaker 1: for Bank of America lawyers. And one of the main
50:56
Speaker 1: reasons that people like Leon Black try to avoid depositions
51:00
Speaker 1: like it's the plague is because they don't want to
51:02
Speaker 1: be on record. They don't want to be under oath.
51:06
Speaker 1: They want to be able to maneuver. and say and
51:08
Speaker 1: do whatever they want. And for all these years, Leon
51:12
Speaker 1: Black's been able to wiggle out of any kind of
51:15
Speaker 1: serious deposition or speaking under oath. But finally, Judge Rakoff
51:20
Speaker 1: here is saying enough of that bullshit, and you're gonna
51:24
Speaker 1: sit for a deposition, and we're gonna hear what you
51:26
Speaker 1: have to say. Now, if he follows through with that,
51:31
Speaker 1: I'll be elated. But one thing we've learned about Leon
51:34
Speaker 1: Black is that this dude knows how to maneuver. And
51:37
Speaker 1: if there's a way to get out of trouble, if
51:39
Speaker 1: there's a way to buy himself off the roster, if
51:43
Speaker 1: you will, that's what he's going to do. Remember, this
51:46
Speaker 1: is the man that paid $ 62 million to the USVI
51:51
Speaker 1: to make his problems go away down there. So don't
51:54
Speaker 1: think for a minute that Leon Black isn't trying to
51:57
Speaker 1: do the same thing right now, behind the scenes. He
51:59
Speaker 1: most certainly is. Black is not a defendant in the
52:03
Speaker 1: suit against Bank of America. He's denied any wrongdoing or
52:07
Speaker 1: knowledge of Epstein's criminal conduct. It hadn't been known that
52:12
Speaker 1: Black would be deposed until Rakoff scheduled a conference call
52:16
Speaker 1: on the matter. Black is a critical witness in the case.
52:19
Speaker 1: Sigrid McCauley, an attorney for the victims, sat on the call. Look,
52:23
Speaker 1: he most certainly is. And the only reason that he
52:27
Speaker 1: hasn't really been called on the carpet is because all
52:30
Speaker 1: the money and power and influence. Again, his son Ben
52:35
Speaker 1: is part of the administration. Do you really think that
52:39
Speaker 1: Donald Trump is going to hold Leon Black's feet to
52:41
Speaker 1: the fire? Zero chance. Zero chance it's going to happen.
52:46
Speaker 1: The lawsuit claims Bank of America turned a blind eye
52:49
Speaker 1: to suspicious transfers Black made to Epstein from his Bank
52:53
Speaker 1: of America account, including $ 170 million for tax and estate
52:58
Speaker 1: planning advice. Imagine paying that kind of dough for advice.
53:03
Speaker 1: What kind of advice are you getting? I mean, $ 170 million?
53:08
Speaker 1: That seems like the kind of advice that's going to
53:10
Speaker 1: create some kind of new propulsion system for us to
53:13
Speaker 1: travel the stars. That doesn't seem like the price tag
53:18
Speaker 1: for tax and estate planning advice, the money the plaintiffs
53:22
Speaker 1: allege was used to fund Epstein's sex trafficking enterprise. In
53:27
Speaker 1: a previous settlement agreement between Black and the U.S. Virgin Islands,
53:31
Speaker 1: They said Epstein used the money Black paid him to
53:34
Speaker 1: partially fund his operation in the Virgin Islands. And that's
53:38
Speaker 1: been the allegation from the jump. And it's not just
53:42
Speaker 1: Leon Black. We're talking about Les Wexner. We're talking about
53:46
Speaker 1: the Johnsons. We're talking about a lot of people here.
53:51
Speaker 1: But Leon Black was able to buy his way out
53:54
Speaker 1: of any trouble down in the USVI. And at the
53:56
Speaker 1: time I called it out right away. It was disgusting
54:00
Speaker 1: and it was obvious what was going on. You shouldn't
54:03
Speaker 1: be able to buy your way out of something like this.
54:05
Speaker 1: You should have to face the music. The deal was
54:11
Speaker 1: reached to avoid potential claims over his ties to Epstein.
54:16
Speaker 1: His deposition in the case had been set for Monday,
54:20
Speaker 1: but it was pushed back at the request of his attorney,
54:23
Speaker 1: Michael Karlinsky. And here we go, right? The games. Because remember,
54:27
Speaker 1: the law only matters to people like us. People like
54:31
Speaker 1: Leon Black, they have their own set of rules. My
54:35
Speaker 1: understanding is the parties are very close to resolving this dispute,
54:39
Speaker 1: Karlinsky told the judge on the call. The victim's legal
54:43
Speaker 1: team and Bank of America's lawyers didn't disclose any details
54:47
Speaker 1: about a possible settlement on the call. Look, they want
54:50
Speaker 1: to settle. Bank of America does not want to draw
54:53
Speaker 1: this out. Not right now. Not especially right now. Because
54:58
Speaker 1: the way things are, right? The optics are terrible. The
55:01
Speaker 1: last thing you want to do is be caught up
55:04
Speaker 1: in some kind of Epstein scandal with all of this
55:06
Speaker 1: fallout raining down around you. So the better strategy, obviously,
55:11
Speaker 1: is to pay the settlement and keep it moving. Attorneys
55:15
Speaker 1: for the victims didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
55:19
Speaker 1: Bank of America and spokesperson for Black declined to comment.
55:23
Speaker 1: The lawsuit filed last year alleges that Bank of America
55:27
Speaker 1: provided banking services in connection with Epstein and his sex
55:32
Speaker 1: trafficking organization, as well as bank accounts used by Epstein, co-conspirators, associates,
55:38
Speaker 1: and victims at Epstein's direction, including Ghislaine Maxwell. The same
55:43
Speaker 1: exact scam they had going on over at JP Morgan.
55:48
Speaker 1: So I'm guessing that it's going to end up being
55:50
Speaker 1: the same kind of ruling, especially If they enter into
55:53
Speaker 1: a settlement. So Bank of America. Might be on the
55:57
Speaker 1: line here. For a lot of money. Now of course
56:00
Speaker 1: to them. It's a drop in the bucket. But to
56:04
Speaker 1: normal people. A lot of money. Remember we're talking $ 290 million.
56:09
Speaker 1: For JP Morgan. So I'm guessing Bank of America. Is
56:13
Speaker 1: going to get kicked right in the sack. To around
56:16
Speaker 1: the same tune. The plaintiffs claim the bank failed to
56:20
Speaker 1: properly monitor accounts and didn't file timely suspicious activity reports
56:25
Speaker 1: concerning questionable transactions. This lawsuit seeks to hold Bank of
56:29
Speaker 1: America civilly liable for the crimes of Jeffrey Epstein based
56:33
Speaker 1: on nothing more than allegations that it provided routine services
56:37
Speaker 1: to customers who at the time had no known connection
56:40
Speaker 1: to Epstein's sex trafficking ring, Bank of America said in
56:44
Speaker 1: a previous court filing. Well, that's their defense. Do you
56:49
Speaker 1: think they're going to stick with it? Or do you
56:51
Speaker 1: think there's going to be a settlement? Pretty sure there's
56:54
Speaker 1: going to be a settlement. Epstein victims have brought similar
56:57
Speaker 1: lawsuits against JPMorgan Chase and Deutsche Bank, which were later
57:01
Speaker 1: settled for hundreds of millions of dollars. And like I
57:04
Speaker 1: was saying, I expect the same to happen here. So
57:08
Speaker 1: we'll keep an eye on this story and we'll see
57:10
Speaker 1: where it goes. And if there is a deposition, obviously,
57:13
Speaker 1: if we get transcripts, we'll get those bad boys added
57:16
Speaker 1: to the catalog. But until then, That's going to do
57:20
Speaker 1: it for this one. All the information that goes with
