Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: All right, all right, Garment, do you alive from Philly?
- 0:09Speaker 1: It's the Polly and Tony Foolsco. Show and always Polly Foolsco.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Here with Tony Foolsco and Tony Huge show today. You know,
- 0:20Speaker 1: normally the Eagles being five and oh would be a
- 0:23Speaker 1: top story by far, but no controversy in the NFL,
- 0:28Speaker 1: the refs ruining games with their as usual horrible judgment
- 0:33Speaker 1: and uh, you know, you know in all the sports shows,
- 0:35Speaker 1: you know what they do with this topic is they
- 0:37Speaker 1: just bitch and moan about it and do nothing. But
- 0:40Speaker 1: not on this show, because, as you all know, what
- 0:43Speaker 1: we do is we give solutions, right, and we have
- 0:47Speaker 1: solutions that are gonna fix this whole problem instantly. And
- 0:52Speaker 1: you know what we're gonna do, Tony, We're gonna run
- 0:54Speaker 1: them by former Vice President of NFL Officiating, Dean Blandino,
- 0:59Speaker 1: and just wait until he gets a load of what
- 1:02Speaker 1: we have in store for him. Right. Yeah, he's gonna
- 1:05Speaker 1: be embarrassed that he hadn't thought of all these ideas first. Absolutely.
- 1:10Speaker 1: But before we get to that, just quick some business
- 1:13Speaker 1: up top. A word from our good friends at Uber Eats.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Do you still go to restaurants? Why? Yeah, do you
- 1:23Speaker 1: like watching other people eat? Are you some kind of
- 1:26Speaker 1: food pervert? What's wrong with you? Yeah? Eat at home
- 1:30Speaker 1: like a normal person, uber eats. Okay, now that we
- 1:34Speaker 1: got that business out of the way, let's get right
- 1:37Speaker 1: into our nose with our top story story, huge crisis
- 1:44Speaker 1: in the NFL, the revs continuing to interrupt and ruin
- 1:48Speaker 1: the game with their continued poor judgment. And you know,
- 1:52Speaker 1: this past week we saw it twice, terrible roughing the
- 1:55Speaker 1: passer calls, one on radars, Kuby, Derek Carr and bucking
- 2:00Speaker 1: as cry baby, I mean quarterback Tom Brady and Tonty.
- 2:04Speaker 1: We have simple solutions that are gonna fix all of this.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Why don't you tell them our first one? Yep, get
- 2:11Speaker 1: ready to have your mind blown. Refs to ref the refs,
- 2:16Speaker 1: another team of reps that sit on the sidelines, and
- 2:20Speaker 1: when the ref blows a whistle that they don't like,
- 2:23Speaker 1: they blow the whistle on the ref. You know, it's
- 2:27Speaker 1: like that famous movie from the nineties. Of course, I'm
- 2:30Speaker 1: talking about internal affairs. Richie Lea was a police officer,
- 2:35Speaker 1: but so is Anti Garcia, who then investigated Richard Gere
- 2:40Speaker 1: and brought him to justice. Such a great relatable analogy that,
- 2:46Speaker 1: don't you know that's not our only fix. See, the
- 2:49Speaker 1: problem with refs is that they have too much power.
- 2:52Speaker 1: You know, they get unlimited flags. You know. Yeah, it's
- 2:55Speaker 1: that kind of unchecked power that we cannot have in
- 2:59Speaker 1: our country, help in our government, unless, of course the
- 3:02Speaker 1: right people are in charge. But anyway, tell him our
- 3:05Speaker 1: solution to figure that out, Tony, It's simple, limit each
- 3:10Speaker 1: ref to three flags per game. That's all they get.
- 3:13Speaker 1: That way, when they see something, they go, oh, do
- 3:17Speaker 1: I really want to waste the precious flag on this
- 3:19Speaker 1: call that I'm pulling out of my ass? Oh? You
- 3:22Speaker 1: know what, I'm gonna save it for something more agregious. Absolutely,
- 3:28Speaker 1: And you know, we got a ton of more great
- 3:30Speaker 1: ideas where that game from. But you know we're gonna
- 3:33Speaker 1: save it for when Blandino gets on here. We're gonna
- 3:36Speaker 1: always friend. But we got another big story to get though.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Davante Adams Raiders wide receiver in hot Water and now
- 3:44Speaker 1: charged with attempted assault for shoving a cameraman after the
- 3:48Speaker 1: loss to the Chiefs on Monday night. Now, this camera
- 3:51Speaker 1: guy's attorney just released a statement that says Davante showed
- 3:56Speaker 1: quote egregiously on sportsmanlike behavior. Uh, you want to talk
- 4:02Speaker 1: on sportsmanlike Look in the mirror his camera guy, this
- 4:06Speaker 1: numb skull he was standing in the tunnel that leads
- 4:10Speaker 1: to the locker room. You know, we talk about situational
- 4:13Speaker 1: awareness for players, Tony on the field, what about situational
- 4:17Speaker 1: awareness for the cameraman exactly? How can you press charges
- 4:22Speaker 1: for that? I mean, if you were standing in the
- 4:25Speaker 1: middle of a highway, would you press charges against the
- 4:28Speaker 1: semi truck that hit you know, because you're probably dead.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Great analogy, Tony, and you know, let's move to another
- 4:36Speaker 1: big story out of the NFC. The Panthers surprised nobody
- 4:40Speaker 1: by firing their loser of a head coach, Matt Rule
- 4:43Speaker 1: and now Baker Mayfield. It was already playing like a
- 4:46Speaker 1: poor man's Jamacus Russell injured an out for thor to
- 4:50Speaker 1: six weeks. We looked this up, Tony, right before the show.
- 4:53Speaker 1: According to ESPN stats in Info, the Panther's chance of
- 4:57Speaker 1: making the playoffs is now down to neg get eight percent.
- 5:01Speaker 1: And you know, it seems what's obvious to do it? Tony?
- 5:04Speaker 1: The next move clear shut down the entire team. You know,
- 5:09Speaker 1: furlough all the employees, just rapid here and come back,
- 5:14Speaker 1: because think about it, then nobody has to watch the
- 5:17Speaker 1: crappy games, right And it's also better for player safety,
- 5:20Speaker 1: isn't it, Tony. You know, we say players shouldn't play
- 5:25Speaker 1: in the preseason when games don't matter. What about and
- 5:29Speaker 1: the regular season when games don't matter. It's a clear
- 5:32Speaker 1: double standard there. Terrific point, Tony. And one more story
- 5:37Speaker 1: we gotta hit here staying in the NFC. After the
- 5:40Speaker 1: command is lost to the Titans, head coach Ron Rivera,
- 5:44Speaker 1: he was asked to name a reason why the Commanders
- 5:47Speaker 1: are the only team in the NFC East that sucks
- 5:49Speaker 1: right now, and he said quarterback. Now, obviously he was
- 5:54Speaker 1: right about that. Yeah, he's he's totally right on the money.
- 5:56Speaker 1: But you know, feelings got the constant way and he
- 6:00Speaker 1: was upset, and you know, Ron Rivera class act. He
- 6:04Speaker 1: know what did doe? He apologize the Coston wentz and
- 6:07Speaker 1: he said what he had. He called it a Miakopa moment.
- 6:11Speaker 1: And you know, Tony, that great move by Rivera there,
- 6:14Speaker 1: because that just that really clears the air for the Commanders,
- 6:17Speaker 1: you know, because once someone says mia Colpa, you know,
- 6:21Speaker 1: you gotta completely forget about what they said before, don't
- 6:24Speaker 1: your Tony. In fact, if I'm being honest, I'm having
- 6:30Speaker 1: trouble right now remembering what Ron RIVERI even said in
- 6:33Speaker 1: the first place. Absolutely, it's a total non story now.
- 6:38Speaker 1: And you know this is Ron Rivera setting a great
- 6:41Speaker 1: example that you know, I think other head coaches and
- 6:44Speaker 1: athletes should follow, Isn't that right, Tony? Absolutely? You know,
- 6:48Speaker 1: if Frett fob would just come out right now and
- 6:51Speaker 1: say Mia Kolpa, that would make all these welfare fraud
- 6:55Speaker 1: accusations go away. So true to riff advice that Tony.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Let's hope Mr Brett Fov takes it. You know, on
- 7:04Speaker 1: the subject of terrific advice that we're gonna give our guests,
- 7:08Speaker 1: I see our guest coming on the line right now,
- 7:10Speaker 1: so let's bring him on the FUSCO Satellite Network. Satellite alright,
- 7:17Speaker 1: let's bring in our guest here. Uh. Former vice president
- 7:21Speaker 1: of officiating for the NFL. Uh. He was also ahead
- 7:25Speaker 1: of officiating for the XFL, which in some ways is
- 7:28Speaker 1: even more imbroced terrific. Yeah. Now you see him on
- 7:31Speaker 1: Fox of course, as there are rules analysts there. Dean Blandino,
- 7:35Speaker 1: Welcome back to the show. Come back, Thank you, Pauli.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I just you kind of downgrade to me. I was
- 7:40Speaker 1: actually the senior vice president of Officiating for the NFL,
- 7:44Speaker 1: so you just you just took my title. Well, frankly,
- 7:46Speaker 1: you know, nobody really gives about refs and their titles,
- 7:49Speaker 1: so it's just par for the course. So we'll just
- 7:51Speaker 1: leave it at that. Sorry, Please allow me my dual respect,
- 7:57Speaker 1: senior vice president of infitiating for the NFL. There you go.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Also fire your publicist who sent the wrong information. All right,
- 8:05Speaker 1: there you go. Alright, Dean, obviously top story here. The
- 8:08Speaker 1: league is in crisis, total embarrassment for you, your former
- 8:12Speaker 1: colleagues there, you know, with this roughing the past, the situation,
- 8:16Speaker 1: sources inside the league up in arm. So we have
- 8:19Speaker 1: a trough pot question for you. What's your take? And
- 8:22Speaker 1: also why are your former colleagues so terrible at their jobs? Okay,
- 8:27Speaker 1: so so my take is rough in the pastor I
- 8:31Speaker 1: don't think it's broken. I think that we just had
- 8:34Speaker 1: a bad week. It's like sometimes you might have a
- 8:36Speaker 1: bad week, right, you have good weeks, you have bad weeks.
- 8:40Speaker 1: This was a bad week for the NFL. Officials um
- 8:43Speaker 1: rough in the past. I gotta stop you right there.
- 8:45Speaker 1: You're already kind of making excuses for them, you know,
- 8:49Speaker 1: bad week, good week. I didn't like the calls. I
- 8:51Speaker 1: didn't like I didn't like the call on Monday night.
- 8:58Speaker 1: And I'm very and I don't know. I they missed it.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I don't know if it's because they missed me and
- 9:03Speaker 1: they missed my direction and leadership. That's probably the biggest shot.
- 9:08Speaker 1: But but I'm interested. You know a lot of people
- 9:11Speaker 1: out there. They want to complain, they want a bitch,
- 9:14Speaker 1: they want to moan, and nobody comes with solutions. He
- 9:21Speaker 1: understands why he's on this. All right. Look, we're gonna
- 9:23Speaker 1: give you run out of the box here. And I'm
- 9:25Speaker 1: telling you, Dean, you're gonna kick yourself and not thinking
- 9:28Speaker 1: of it earlier. All right, he is our fixed you
- 9:31Speaker 1: already ready Refs to ref the refs. Okay, I'm not
- 9:37Speaker 1: talking about like you know, your your neard's who sit
- 9:40Speaker 1: in the box up in New York notching the TVs.
- 9:42Speaker 1: I'm talking about a second team of refs on the
- 9:44Speaker 1: field that come over the top. So when the refs
- 9:46Speaker 1: bolo whistle on a bad call, the other ref boa
- 9:50Speaker 1: whistle on these refs. There you go, So a second
- 9:55Speaker 1: set of referees that are gonna overrule and it happens
- 9:59Speaker 1: in real time. And where are they during the play?
- 10:01Speaker 1: Are they on the field? Are they on the sideline? Yeah,
- 10:04Speaker 1: they're all over, all over everywhere. How many are there?
- 10:08Speaker 1: How many are there? Six? You know, we've got the dynamics,
- 10:14Speaker 1: but i'd say one backup ref for every other ref.
- 10:18Speaker 1: This is like, so this idea, you guys have a
- 10:20Speaker 1: phenomenal idea. It's like it's like, well, it was like
- 10:24Speaker 1: the person that said, Okay, we're back whenever however, many
- 10:28Speaker 1: thousands and millions of years ago, where it's like, we're
- 10:30Speaker 1: trying to drag this giant, you know, mammoth carcets across
- 10:34Speaker 1: the planes in our time, and we're gonna we're gonna create, uh,
- 10:40Speaker 1: something that can help our our vehicle role easier. And
- 10:44Speaker 1: they came up with the idea for the Weirs. Analogy
- 10:48Speaker 1: I can't follow. I'm trying. I'm trying to work with
- 10:51Speaker 1: you guys here. Okay, let's just say sports talk. Sports
- 10:54Speaker 1: talk maybe not your thing, maybe stick to the rules.
- 10:57Speaker 1: What are you trying to say that? It's like that
- 10:59Speaker 1: you guys have a great idea, but you need to
- 11:01Speaker 1: work out the details. Well, what are the details? That's
- 11:04Speaker 1: why we probably I ask you a simple question. You're
- 11:06Speaker 1: going six, he's going ten. You're going I mean okay, six, yeah, six, okay,
- 11:13Speaker 1: six officials got it, six reps to ref the refs
- 11:17Speaker 1: got it? Six? Okay, all right. Now, I'm just want
- 11:20Speaker 1: to give us your feedback. I guess you're just so
- 11:22Speaker 1: mind blown. All right. You you think you're gonna consider that,
- 11:26Speaker 1: I'm going to consider that, all right, because we're gonna
- 11:28Speaker 1: give you another one. Not right, here you go, here's
- 11:30Speaker 1: another one. You know, refs that out of control, unchecked power.
- 11:35Speaker 1: We gotta check it. Here's our idea. Three flags per game.
- 11:40Speaker 1: That's all any ref gets. You know why, because when
- 11:43Speaker 1: they see something borderline, they'll go, that'll hold on the line. Flag.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Should I throw this one? I don't want to waste it.
- 11:50Speaker 1: I'll only have one at the left. It's interesting concept,
- 11:54Speaker 1: but that means there's seven officials. If all seven officials
- 11:57Speaker 1: have three flags, that's one else. That's actually more than
- 12:01Speaker 1: the average number of fouls per games. So I would say,
- 12:04Speaker 1: you take it down. Let's take it down, not three.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Let's go to I like your thinking day. You go
- 12:11Speaker 1: go two flags per game, photography. Now you're getting it,
- 12:15Speaker 1: you're leaving. You are inside the box, now you're outside
- 12:19Speaker 1: the box. All right, we like this. I could here's
- 12:21Speaker 1: another idea. Now we're rolling. Do you ever hear of crowdsourcing? Dean? Yeah, sure, sure,
- 12:27Speaker 1: you know it's a modern term. I wasn't sure. You know,
- 12:29Speaker 1: I get it. I get up on the modern churn.
- 12:32Speaker 1: You go, why are we relying on you know, seven
- 12:35Speaker 1: revs on the field? We got the JumboTron, show the
- 12:39Speaker 1: play like we always do. Put it to a vote
- 12:41Speaker 1: in the stands, Tony. Yeah, it's like the audience on
- 12:45Speaker 1: the very popular show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Lifelines?
- 12:50Speaker 1: They asked the audience they go with the ants counts
- 12:54Speaker 1: and maybe you get you know, like Meredith Vieira someone
- 12:56Speaker 1: the hosted, you know, Steve Harvey comes out, he reads
- 12:59Speaker 1: a result. So the fans in the stadium would vote
- 13:04Speaker 1: on But don't you think that would be an advantage
- 13:07Speaker 1: for the home team, incentive for your fan base to
- 13:11Speaker 1: travel to other city. There you go, I'm impressed. I'm
- 13:16Speaker 1: gonna I'm not gonna lie I'm impressed. There you go. See,
- 13:18Speaker 1: all right, that are good, and it's even more it's
- 13:21Speaker 1: even more impressive considering the limited like cognitive abilities you
- 13:26Speaker 1: have to come up with these types of ideas. I'm
- 13:29Speaker 1: just saying, just a moment, don't he I see what's
- 13:31Speaker 1: going on you. He was just going along with this.
- 13:34Speaker 1: He was setting a trap for us so then he
- 13:36Speaker 1: could come in. That's what he's going to stand. What
- 13:38Speaker 1: cognitive means? Do you understand that? You just did? You
- 13:42Speaker 1: just say we have limited brain capacity. We also have
- 13:47Speaker 1: yet limited show capacity. Because guess what, Dean, guess what,
- 13:53Speaker 1: there's one thing you got right? Your last name? You
- 13:56Speaker 1: all Blandino? Off the shot? You don't It's like you're
- 14:03Speaker 1: not is he off the line? Jay? Hang up the phone?
- 14:12Speaker 1: You know, first of all his loss, and second of all, Tony,
- 14:15Speaker 1: when an NFL ref calls you cognitively in bed, you
- 14:19Speaker 1: know that's actually a compliment because the judgment is so bad.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Just to explain that line for your people at home,
- 14:26Speaker 1: because you know who knows what's going on you. You're right, Look,
- 14:29Speaker 1: we're gonna just get out right now, you know, not
- 14:32Speaker 1: Let not let that ruin what was otherwise a terrific show.
- 14:35Speaker 1: We're gonna think about Big Friends at uber eats for that.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Oh oh, if it isn't the King of Bland producing
- 14:45Speaker 1: Jay Mr J Blandin though, what you said the Panthers
- 14:50Speaker 1: have a negative chance of making the playoffs. Yeah, yeah,
- 14:55Speaker 1: that's impossible. You can't have a negative chance of anything.
- 15:01Speaker 1: You would just have zero present. Oh yeah, well you
- 15:06Speaker 1: have zero percent of brain. Yeah, zero percent chance is
- 15:11Speaker 1: what every girl calls you, good one. What you also said,
- 15:18Speaker 1: Davante Adams has been charged with attempted assault. Yeah, now
- 15:24Speaker 1: he assaulted him. He was charged with the salt it
- 15:28Speaker 1: wasn't attempted. Oh yeah, well I'm attempted to punch you
- 15:35Speaker 1: in the nuts. Yeah, I'm gonna Davante Adams you right
- 15:39Speaker 1: after the show? Yeah, watch where you walk? Yeah exactly,
- 15:43Speaker 1: Now that's what. No. Lastly, another thing, you guys, not
- 15:49Speaker 1: only butcher the English language, You butcher Latin. What you
- 15:55Speaker 1: pronounced it mi a copra? Yeah no, no, no, it's
- 16:00Speaker 1: pronounced maya copra. Great question back for you. Maya punch
- 16:05Speaker 1: you in the nuts after the show. Yeah, maya turn
- 16:10Speaker 1: off your mike right now? Look at him sulking that
- 16:13Speaker 1: Tony you know, if he was smart, he'd say me
- 16:16Speaker 1: a copra, so we'd forget about all this terrible work
- 16:19Speaker 1: on this show right now but late and it's too late.
- 16:21Speaker 1: It's too late for him, but you know it's not
- 16:23Speaker 1: too late for Tony. Next week booked on the show
- 16:27Speaker 1: Eagles Legend, super Bowl Hero Nick Falls. We look in
- 16:32Speaker 1: the meantime talking about Huge the numbers on our social
- 16:36Speaker 1: platforms continue to grow. Big Dime, sure to follow us
- 16:41Speaker 1: if you have it already, you probably do already. But
- 16:43Speaker 1: who are we talking about? Better anyway? Tony, great show,
- 16:46Speaker 1: as always saying to you, Pauli, another foolish show. There
- 16:52Speaker 1: you go. We'll see a people next week by see
- 16:55Speaker 1: you
