- 5:30Speaker 1: I'm really excited because I love to see young men
- 5:36Speaker 1: on fire for God. And I love to see young
- 5:40Speaker 1: especially our men, uh you know, tap into their potential,
- 5:45Speaker 1: start tapping into their full potential and using that potential
- 5:50Speaker 1: also to bring others along with them to help them
- 5:55Speaker 1: out and to share some expertise and share their experience
- 6:00Speaker 1: and say, hey, I went through this, and that's okay.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Let's let's listen, let's let's come come on with me.
- 6:09Speaker 1: So I'm excited for you. And uh, so I I
- 6:13Speaker 1: tell me about yourself, but give me some information before
- 6:17Speaker 1: when one all the good juicy stuff that you're into,
- 6:21Speaker 1: because I see a lot of things about wanting to
- 6:22Speaker 1: tell it.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Okay, Uh well, first off, a thank you for having
- 6:27Speaker 4: me tonight on this platform. Very grateful and honored to
- 6:30Speaker 4: be on tonight. Thank you, yes, ma'am. And happy to
- 6:35Speaker 4: me lated birthday as well two years well.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Yes, same to you. Our birthdays are two days apart.
- 6:42Speaker 1: So awesome people. So actually this is kind of like
- 6:45Speaker 1: a birthday show, right, yes, yes, ma'am October saying in
- 6:52Speaker 1: October four.
- 6:53Speaker 4: Yes, yes, Well, I go ahead and uh say a
- 6:58Speaker 4: little bit about me from Montgomery, Alabama. Okay, born and
- 7:04Speaker 4: raised in Montgomery, and I went to K through twelve,
- 7:09Speaker 4: graduated high school in Montgomery, went on to college at
- 7:13Speaker 4: Auburn University and Auburn, Obama, whe I received my undergrad
- 7:16Speaker 4: degree in mass communication radio achievement. Worked in athletics there
- 7:24Speaker 4: at Auburn University, and after I graduated, I ended up
- 7:29Speaker 4: moving to Atlanta, Georgia, where I currently resided right now.
- 7:33Speaker 4: Been working in the production industry ever since I moved
- 7:36Speaker 4: and moved to Atlanta, and then that's when I made
- 7:40Speaker 4: the transition to getting into education as being a school teacher.
- 7:44Speaker 4: After I graduated with my first master's in Instructional Technology
- 7:48Speaker 4: of Concentration in Media is back in twenty seventeen and
- 7:53Speaker 4: been teaching a high school middle school. I currently teach
- 7:56Speaker 4: high school right now. I teach audio, video technology and film,
- 8:01Speaker 4: but also managed Brofast Video Production and I just recently
- 8:07Speaker 4: received my second master's in December of twenty twenty and
- 8:11Speaker 4: sport management. I have a background of working in athletics,
- 8:15Speaker 4: like I said, in college, so I also worked as
- 8:19Speaker 4: a high school athletic coach on the high school level.
- 8:25Speaker 4: So that's where company me to go back to grad school.
- 8:29Speaker 4: My first sport management okay, and I received my certification
- 8:37Speaker 4: that's been a life coach in twenty twenty in the
- 8:39Speaker 4: middle of a pandemic. I wrote my first book in
- 8:43Speaker 4: twenty twenty. Most recently, I wrote my third last year
- 8:49Speaker 4: entitled Moving Past Your Pain. This book is a inspirational
- 8:54Speaker 4: read where I basically focused on different real life stories
- 8:58Speaker 4: that happened with a gentleman that I mentored who's a
- 9:03Speaker 4: collegiate football player right now during his time when I
- 9:07Speaker 4: was mentoring, and he was a high school starting quarterback
- 9:12Speaker 4: in Alabama. And you went through a lot of adversity
- 9:15Speaker 4: of staying ATOL to an athlete. And the biggest thing
- 9:20Speaker 4: that I did was when I mentored, when I was
- 9:24Speaker 4: helping him overcome the university as he received death threats
- 9:28Speaker 4: of starting quarterback one particularly young. I think there's a
- 9:35Speaker 4: lot of food back. Can you hear me?
- 9:45Speaker 1: Yes?
- 9:48Speaker 4: Okay?
- 9:51Speaker 5: All right?
- 9:52Speaker 4: What about now? I can't hear me? Now?
- 10:05Speaker 1: I can't hear you now?
- 10:09Speaker 4: All right?
- 10:11Speaker 5: All right?
- 10:11Speaker 4: What about now? Can you hear me?
- 10:27Speaker 1: All right?
- 10:28Speaker 4: Someone said, please continue? All right? So can everybody hear me?
- 10:32Speaker 4: I'm just tune in, okay.
- 10:36Speaker 1: You know, and for some reason on my end, for
- 10:39Speaker 1: some reason, I can't. I can't hear you. But let's
- 10:46Speaker 1: see here. I'm trying to figure out if there's something
- 10:51Speaker 1: going on on my end.
- 10:55Speaker 4: Let's see here. I can see on my end. Someone
- 11:01Speaker 4: said they can hear us both.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Mm hmmm.
- 11:06Speaker 4: Let's see.
- 11:09Speaker 5: I can hear you both. Y'all can carry y'all?
- 11:13Speaker 1: Okay, I can't hear you both.
- 11:16Speaker 5: Y'all are fine.
- 11:17Speaker 1: There was some feedback. Okay, so for some reason I
- 11:26Speaker 1: cannot hear but we will. But Jay sus uh, since
- 11:31Speaker 1: this is about you, go ahead and and and keep talking.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Because if the audience can hear you. That's the important part, right.
- 11:42Speaker 1: So yeah, so we absolutely want them to know about
- 11:45Speaker 1: all of your endeavors, you know, and everything that you
- 11:49Speaker 1: you know that you are doing and and that you
- 11:52Speaker 1: are going to do in the future. Uh So yeah,
- 11:56Speaker 1: So by all means, let the audience know, you know,
- 12:00Speaker 1: continue and let them know everything that that you are doing.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Okay, Well, basically what I was saying was that I
- 12:10Speaker 4: mentored a gentleman in high school and he's currently playing
- 12:14Speaker 4: collegiate football now. He went through a pivotal moment where
- 12:18Speaker 4: he received death threats to being a high school student athlete,
- 12:21Speaker 4: and I could I could actually understand and relate to
- 12:25Speaker 4: what he was going through as being a high school
- 12:27Speaker 4: student athlete. So throughout that time of me mentoring him
- 12:31Speaker 4: and more his mental state. His parents serve in ministry
- 12:36Speaker 4: as well in Alabama, so his father basically reached out
- 12:40Speaker 4: to me to pretty much just told me to just
- 12:43Speaker 4: check on his son and more so his mental states.
- 12:46Speaker 4: So I actually did that, and he overcame adversity and
- 12:49Speaker 4: bounced back from the things that he was going through.
- 12:53Speaker 4: So that's what prompted me to actually write the book
- 12:55Speaker 4: called Moving pastor Payne, which is which is right here,
- 12:59Speaker 4: moving pastor even during that time of doing that, I
- 13:05Speaker 4: even talked about other other stories within the book. I
- 13:09Speaker 4: even talked about my mother how she lost her sister
- 13:13Speaker 4: back in nineteen eighty nine due to a gentleman breaking
- 13:16Speaker 4: out of prison and how he ended up murdering her
- 13:19Speaker 4: sister in the presence of her two year old son,
- 13:22Speaker 4: and the family was distraught about losing a loved one
- 13:26Speaker 4: that was very dear and close to everybody, and over
- 13:30Speaker 4: time my mother find it hard to actually forgive that individual.
- 13:34Speaker 4: But later on in life, as being a believer and
- 13:38Speaker 4: a Christian woman, how to forgive this gentleman who took
- 13:44Speaker 4: her sister life, and most recently she forgave the individual.
- 13:50Speaker 4: Was he easy? No, it wasn't easy to actually forgive
- 13:53Speaker 4: who took someone that you was very close with and
- 13:56Speaker 4: someone that you was actually brought up with within the
- 14:00Speaker 4: same household. But she knew that she had to learn
- 14:03Speaker 4: how to forgive over time. So I talked about a
- 14:08Speaker 4: story like that in the book, and most recently we
- 14:12Speaker 4: did a documentary on it's called Bouncing Bouncing Back from
- 14:17Speaker 4: Adversity where it featured me, my mother, the gentleman that
- 14:22Speaker 4: I meant to and even a gentleman that I actually
- 14:24Speaker 4: worked with as an athletic coach, the things that he
- 14:27Speaker 4: had to overcome and endure in life. So those are
- 14:32Speaker 4: the things that I actually have been working on and
- 14:35Speaker 4: have been doing and upcoming. I'm working on a seminar
- 14:41Speaker 4: workshop that's basically for people that are in ministry or education,
- 14:46Speaker 4: student athletes and athletic coaches, and basically turning my book
- 14:51Speaker 4: moving Past Your Pain into actually into an actual workbook
- 14:56Speaker 4: where I'm going to be having different seminars and workshops
- 14:59Speaker 4: for Those are the things that I have work that's
- 15:06Speaker 4: gonna be coming up.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Wonderful. And the moment that I couldn't hear, I wanted
- 15:12Speaker 1: to make sure did you touch on the documentary?
- 15:16Speaker 4: Yes? I just did.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Okay, okay, okay. I saw that. I said, wow, Wow,
- 15:24Speaker 1: that's that's awesome. Not too many people get a chance
- 15:28Speaker 1: or an opportunity to, uh you know, be in or
- 15:32Speaker 1: create a documentary. And I just thought that was just
- 15:36Speaker 1: just really really awesome. And uh, I on your Facebook page,
- 15:42Speaker 1: you guys you have the is it Jay Benson Ministries? Yes,
- 15:46Speaker 1: that's correact Okay, if you guys are not on there.
- 15:49Speaker 1: You guys need to get there because he has wonderful quotes,
- 15:55Speaker 1: wonderful encouragement. You look, you look super young, but I
- 16:02Speaker 1: can tell you have an old soul.
- 16:09Speaker 4: I'll say this, I am young. I'm thirty four. I
- 16:14Speaker 4: don't mind telling my age now. Before I never told
- 16:17Speaker 4: people my age, but I don't mind telling people my
- 16:19Speaker 4: age now. But it was more so me being brought
- 16:22Speaker 4: up around about the older sitlings and my parents are
- 16:27Speaker 4: much older age even I was also believers Christians, and
- 16:36Speaker 4: my grandparents who are deceased and going on, they were
- 16:39Speaker 4: married for over fifty plus years, so I learned a
- 16:42Speaker 4: whole lot from them as well. So that's where my
- 16:46Speaker 4: old soul basically comes from.
- 16:51Speaker 1: I can tell. I can tell because it seems like
- 16:55Speaker 1: you have you have a lot of wisdom, you know,
- 17:00Speaker 1: or for such you know what I'm saying, like for
- 17:03Speaker 1: such a young age, like I'm super old, right, but
- 17:07Speaker 1: but but you you seem like you have such wisdom
- 17:12Speaker 1: for for a young man. And where I get excited
- 17:17Speaker 1: to actually see you, uh and I don't even know you,
- 17:23Speaker 1: but to see you in your element and to see
- 17:26Speaker 1: you in your flow is as a woman. I think
- 17:31Speaker 1: God has placed a certain I don't know if you
- 17:34Speaker 1: could say compassion or or because I feel that our
- 17:40Speaker 1: men need to hear from us women that you're doing
- 17:50Speaker 1: a good job. Yes, and you know it's it's important
- 17:57Speaker 1: for us women to get behind, you know, especially men
- 18:02Speaker 1: like yourself that's doing something and that's being about something
- 18:08Speaker 1: something positive, not only just and I always say the
- 18:14Speaker 1: natural and the spiritual, but in both in both ways.
- 18:20Speaker 1: You know, you look as if, you know, you seem
- 18:23Speaker 1: as if you take your your your Christian walk seriously
- 18:30Speaker 1: and you know, but yeah, you also know how to
- 18:32Speaker 1: be well rounded. That's that's kind of what I get
- 18:36Speaker 1: when I look at your page. Yes, is you're gonna
- 18:40Speaker 1: get some Jesus. You're gonna get some Jesus right, and
- 18:45Speaker 1: you're also going to get some day to day good
- 18:50Speaker 1: natural encouragement. Hey, you can do this, and I think
- 18:54Speaker 1: that's really important for us to be well rounded in individuals.
- 18:58Speaker 1: You can't always say in the spirit twenty four hours,
- 19:02Speaker 1: even though it's it's a good place to be. It
- 19:03Speaker 1: keeps you out of trouble. But you know, but you
- 19:07Speaker 1: know that that's saying, you know, you can't be so
- 19:10Speaker 1: spiritual that you're no earthly good, you know, you know,
- 19:13Speaker 1: because people still have to be able to relate, and
- 19:18Speaker 1: that relatable part of you is what draws them in. Yes,
- 19:23Speaker 1: you know, they may not can relate to to the
- 19:26Speaker 1: Jesus part yet, but they can relate to something else
- 19:31Speaker 1: that you're sharing. And because you have something for everybody,
- 19:37Speaker 1: whether it be the young or the old, that's that's
- 19:42Speaker 1: good because you can you can you can bring them
- 19:45Speaker 1: all all in, from from all all angles, from all
- 19:49Speaker 1: ages and that and that's and that's important to be,
- 19:53Speaker 1: you know, to to be everything for for for every
- 19:57Speaker 1: man or woman, you know, And I think that's that's
- 20:01Speaker 1: really I really enjoy the things that I do get
- 20:04Speaker 1: to see and I'll be like, wow, this is this
- 20:07Speaker 1: is this is an awesome young man. And I'm and
- 20:10Speaker 1: I'm glad that Carolyn. Uh, you know, doctor Carolyn directed
- 20:15Speaker 1: me your your way because I love to connect with
- 20:19Speaker 1: other believers and and or just people who are have
- 20:24Speaker 1: a positive mindset. Yes, and you know who who knows
- 20:30Speaker 1: how to go after you know, and use the gifts
- 20:35Speaker 1: that God has placed in them and so uh and
- 20:39Speaker 1: I do see that in you. So I do want
- 20:41Speaker 1: to applaud you.
- 20:59Speaker 4: All right, something has happened for those that are tuing in.
- 21:02Speaker 4: Just Barry Ruff was kind of having technical difficulties tonight.
- 21:24Speaker 5: I'm not sure what happened to her. But did you
- 21:30Speaker 5: hear the question she asked you?
- 21:32Speaker 4: What was the last you hear me? I can hear you, Yes,
- 21:38Speaker 4: I'm not sure. She was fading out.
- 21:42Speaker 5: I couldn't hear her. She was fading out. But I
- 21:46Speaker 5: think she's trying to come back on. Okay, But nevertheless,
- 21:56Speaker 5: we we'll just keep it pushing until she come back on.
- 22:00Speaker 5: I know you say you worked in the school system.
- 22:04Speaker 4: Yes, ma'am, I'm a high school teacher.
- 22:10Speaker 5: Your high school? What subject do you teach?
- 22:13Speaker 1: So?
- 22:13Speaker 4: I teach?
- 22:14Speaker 5: How how have how have you? Go ahead?
- 22:17Speaker 4: I'm sorry, Oh go ahead, I'm so I'm sorry, No,
- 22:22Speaker 4: go ahead. Oh, I was just saying I teach an
- 22:25Speaker 4: elected class. So I teach broadcast video production.
- 22:34Speaker 5: So you have been able to incorporate your passion into
- 22:38Speaker 5: your job.
- 22:39Speaker 4: It looks like, yes, ma'am, Yes, ma'am, I actually have
- 22:44Speaker 4: done that. Really last year, I have developed a partnership
- 22:49Speaker 4: with one of the local high schools not too far
- 22:53Speaker 4: from while I work. I did that with one of
- 22:57Speaker 4: the graduation coaches at the school. While working, he's one
- 23:01Speaker 4: of the assistant football coaches at another high school where
- 23:06Speaker 4: he actually graduated high school from in the metro Atlanta,
- 23:10Speaker 4: Georgia area.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Cool.
- 23:15Speaker 5: Cool that that's that's nice. I am here in the
- 23:22Speaker 5: Atlanta area as well. I'm out in Union City.
- 23:26Speaker 4: Okay, okay, So I'll quaud.
- 23:28Speaker 1: You for what you're doing. Definitely.
- 23:32Speaker 5: How have your students reacted to you being an author
- 23:38Speaker 5: and in them having an author in their in their presence.
- 23:43Speaker 4: Well, some has really embraced it. I think some still
- 23:49Speaker 4: trying to figure me out. And the funny part about it,
- 23:58Speaker 4: I have one student.
- 24:01Speaker 5: You say, I'm sorry, you said you had one student.
- 24:09Speaker 4: Oh, yes, one student that I taught last year that
- 24:12Speaker 4: I teach again this year. She is a junior. She
- 24:16Speaker 4: told me not too long ago, a couple of weeks ago,
- 24:19Speaker 4: that she's an author herself.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Wow.
- 24:24Speaker 5: Cool, Simon, are you there? I'm not sure what's going on,
- 24:38Speaker 5: but she had been having trouble trying to get on
- 24:41Speaker 5: all night. But so, what do you have coming up
- 24:47Speaker 5: and what can we look forward to seeing seeing in
- 24:53Speaker 5: the upcoming months from you? And how can individuals follow
- 24:58Speaker 5: and support the things that you are doing now.
- 25:01Speaker 4: So I have a workbook that's basically it's called Moving
- 25:07Speaker 4: pastor Pain. It's it's it's a workbook that's really around
- 25:11Speaker 4: my actual book, Moving pastor Pain. Uh. That workbook is
- 25:14Speaker 4: going to be used for different seminars and workshops and
- 25:17Speaker 4: really just trying to build our relationships and connections with
- 25:24Speaker 4: people here in Atlanta, Metro Atlanta area, all over Atlanta
- 25:28Speaker 4: where I can put together different workshops and seminars for
- 25:32Speaker 4: individuals who may be going through depression, maybe going through
- 25:37Speaker 4: uh pain, may find it hard to forgive other people.
- 25:44Speaker 4: I have everything laid out with how I'm going to
- 25:47Speaker 4: go about the different the different topics within this seminar.
- 25:53Speaker 4: Like I said, I'm gonna be focusing on education, educators, students,
- 25:58Speaker 4: student athletes, basically athletic coaches, uh, just people in general
- 26:06Speaker 4: who may be going through different things in life and
- 26:09Speaker 4: they just need to know how to actually overcome uh
- 26:14Speaker 4: these different challenges that they're going through in life. And uh,
- 26:18Speaker 4: the seminar and the workshop is going to be a
- 26:23Speaker 4: once a month. I'm still trying to lay out the
- 26:26Speaker 4: details of how I'm going to go about it, but
- 26:29Speaker 4: really just trying to build those relationships and connections with
- 26:33Speaker 4: different areas in Atlanta and other states as well. Even
- 26:39Speaker 4: pastors and clergy as well. This is going to be
- 26:42Speaker 4: for them also. Even with the documentary that's currently out
- 26:48Speaker 4: right now, people can actually check that out. It's going
- 26:52Speaker 4: to be re aired again on The Preacher. It's called
- 26:58Speaker 4: Preach the Word Network. So we're going to actually relaunch
- 27:04Speaker 4: it again. We basically aireded this past Friday, but I
- 27:09Speaker 4: got a word today that we're going to relaunch it again.
- 27:12Speaker 4: I want to say October. I want to say it's
- 27:15Speaker 4: October twenty fifth on a Friday. It's going to be
- 27:22Speaker 4: Friday night, October twenty fifth, So that's going to be
- 27:26Speaker 4: relaunched again for those that wasn't able to check it
- 27:28Speaker 4: out this past Friday. So that's what's coming up real soon.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Wow, that's good. That's good. I want to just kind
- 27:40Speaker 1: of go back into the workbook a little bit more.
- 27:45Speaker 1: I like the fact that you said that there'res going
- 27:48Speaker 1: to be some workshops for leaders in which I think
- 27:56Speaker 1: is really important. You know, people encouraging and ministry. You know,
- 28:02Speaker 1: you know, when you start you know, deving into depression
- 28:06Speaker 1: and forgiveness and a lot of those different things because
- 28:11Speaker 1: you know, sometimes people encloergey. They go through a lot,
- 28:15Speaker 1: you know, you know, they they they go through a lot,
- 28:19Speaker 1: and I feel like it's important for them to have
- 28:23Speaker 1: an outlet, a safe space, you know, where they can
- 28:29Speaker 1: vent because you know, a lot of times you can't
- 28:31Speaker 1: vent to the people who are following you a lot
- 28:35Speaker 1: of times, or have a because you know, you know
- 28:39Speaker 1: they'll turn it against you sometimes, you know, So they do.
- 28:43Speaker 1: They need a healthy space to be able to work
- 28:47Speaker 1: through some things so that we can be able to
- 28:51Speaker 1: lead effectively. And so I think that's that's really good
- 28:57Speaker 1: as well for everyone. You know, are you going to
- 29:01Speaker 1: host workshops as well for maybe like teenagers, young young
- 29:08Speaker 1: people or is it more for adults.
- 29:11Speaker 4: It's gonna be for both young people, teenagers, even for
- 29:16Speaker 4: those like I said, student athletes and athletic coaches who
- 29:20Speaker 4: may be working and coaching and playing ball on the
- 29:25Speaker 4: high school level and collegiate level, as well as for
- 29:29Speaker 4: adults as well within the local communities and orgy as
- 29:35Speaker 4: well for those that serve the ministry. I basically know,
- 29:41Speaker 4: I have a lot of wealth and knowledge of what
- 29:46Speaker 4: it takes to actually overcome these different things, and like
- 29:49Speaker 4: you just stated, it basically comes down to being around
- 29:55Speaker 4: the right people most importantly. And I know been in
- 30:00Speaker 4: ministry at a very young age since fifteen, started out
- 30:05Speaker 4: as a junior deacon, but became a licensed minister at
- 30:09Speaker 4: age fifteen and been serving in ministry since, and have
- 30:13Speaker 4: seen a lot of pastors who have committed suicide who
- 30:20Speaker 4: didn't really get the help that they needed to actually
- 30:23Speaker 4: move forward within the ministry because they took on a
- 30:26Speaker 4: lot of a lot of things instead of getting the
- 30:29Speaker 4: help that they needed. And I think this is very
- 30:32Speaker 4: vital for every leader who is going through something, and
- 30:35Speaker 4: especially with me not too long ago stepping down as
- 30:38Speaker 4: being a lead pastor at age thirty four, I thought
- 30:44Speaker 4: that was very wise of me to actually do, because
- 30:47Speaker 4: I've been serving as a pastor since I was a
- 30:50Speaker 4: junior in undergraduate school, and that was at a very
- 30:54Speaker 4: young age, and I was passionate for twelve years, and
- 30:58Speaker 4: there were times where I was depressed. If I were
- 31:01Speaker 4: to be transparent with you all tonight, and I just
- 31:05Speaker 4: didn't know who to talk to and where to get
- 31:07Speaker 4: the help from until I actually was able to connect
- 31:11Speaker 4: with the right people in which I was able to
- 31:14Speaker 4: actually talk and just tell them problems without my problems
- 31:19Speaker 4: getting back out to somebody else and everybody else. But
- 31:23Speaker 4: I had a safe space where I can actually just
- 31:25Speaker 4: tell individuals about what I was going through and just
- 31:27Speaker 4: get the help that I needed. And I really believed
- 31:30Speaker 4: that this would be very vital for everybody from all
- 31:33Speaker 4: walks of life, athletics, education, people who may be going
- 31:38Speaker 4: through something, and even clergy as well.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Wow, thank you for that transparency, because that is I
- 31:47Speaker 1: believe transparency helped here, yes, right, and because there could
- 31:53Speaker 1: be someone else watching today that could be saying, you know,
- 31:59Speaker 1: while I'm kind of going through some things, you know,
- 32:02Speaker 1: and I do need that safe space. But one thing
- 32:06Speaker 1: I love about the workbook is if they can't get
- 32:11Speaker 1: to you personally, right, the workbook can get to places
- 32:16Speaker 1: where you can't. Yeah, but technically you're still there. The
- 32:26Speaker 1: division division that God has placed in you will reach
- 32:34Speaker 1: will reach many because once if He annoints you for it,
- 32:39Speaker 1: it will get to whoever you know that it's supposed
- 32:43Speaker 1: to get to. And I really think and I, like
- 32:46Speaker 1: I said, I applaud you for your transparency. Like I said,
- 32:50Speaker 1: thirty four years old to be a lead pastor, and
- 32:56Speaker 1: you know I could just imagine. I could just I
- 33:01Speaker 1: could just imagine, you know, even looking at my pastor
- 33:05Speaker 1: and the many things that he has to go through,
- 33:09Speaker 1: and he really takes some really hard hits, you know,
- 33:15Speaker 1: between people, and you know, and I could just imagine
- 33:20Speaker 1: with your age, so you probably had a lot of
- 33:23Speaker 1: different opposition. I don't know, if you know, the older
- 33:27Speaker 1: people kind of feel like you don't know enough, and
- 33:30Speaker 1: you know, and sometimes and I'm sure at that young age,
- 33:35Speaker 1: you're kind of in that middle of kind of getting
- 33:38Speaker 1: it getting hit from all corners. So and the fact
- 33:44Speaker 1: that and I love that you said that, because I
- 33:47Speaker 1: was talking to someone not too long ago, and there
- 33:50Speaker 1: were some there were actually some ministers and if you
- 33:55Speaker 1: kind of look at their ministry, you know, not trying
- 33:58Speaker 1: to be judgment so, but you kind of know that
- 34:02Speaker 1: they're in a place where maybe they need to sit
- 34:04Speaker 1: down for a little bit. Yeah, but whatever the whatever
- 34:10Speaker 1: the pride, whatever the pride or you know, the feel
- 34:17Speaker 1: of feeling of failure that may hit and they're scared
- 34:24Speaker 1: to be looked at a certain type of way and
- 34:32Speaker 1: kind of scared to sit down. And which is nothing
- 34:35Speaker 1: wrong with sitting down if you need to sit down,
- 34:39Speaker 1: because sometimes, you know, especially if you're sitting under a
- 34:43Speaker 1: good leader. Yeah, you know, if you're sitting under a
- 34:46Speaker 1: good leader, that can pour into you. Sometimes a regroup
- 34:51Speaker 1: is necessary for your next level. Yeah, because and a
- 34:57Speaker 1: lot of times there's a certain impartation that needs to
- 35:00Speaker 1: take place sometimes from our leaders that you know, you
- 35:07Speaker 1: where you may end up back in that position once again,
- 35:12Speaker 1: but now you can go in full where maybe before
- 35:16Speaker 1: you were half full, but now you could go in
- 35:18Speaker 1: fully full, right, you know. And so but I think
- 35:23Speaker 1: that's so important is to know when hey, I need
- 35:26Speaker 1: to step back and I need to regroup, and there's
- 35:30Speaker 1: nothing wrong with that, you know, and I believe God
- 35:34Speaker 1: honors that, Yeah, because that puts you in a very
- 35:39Speaker 1: humble position, and and it puts you in a place
- 35:44Speaker 1: where you know people will look at you a certain way,
- 35:47Speaker 1: you know, their mouths to get to talk in and
- 35:50Speaker 1: but but you don't care. You're doing what you need
- 35:53Speaker 1: to do that's necessary for you and also for the
- 35:58Speaker 1: body of Christ, because if you're not whole and you know, uh,
- 36:03Speaker 1: and you're not whole and you're leading, then you know,
- 36:07Speaker 1: that can also be in a potentially dangerous situation as well.
- 36:12Speaker 1: And being able to recognize that, hey, I have lives,
- 36:16Speaker 1: I have people, I have souls that I'm responsible for
- 36:19Speaker 1: as well as myself, and to be able just to
- 36:22Speaker 1: pull back, and that's that's commit. I commend you for that.
- 36:28Speaker 1: And I think and and and people need to hear that,
- 36:32Speaker 1: you know, because like I said, there there are a
- 36:34Speaker 1: lot of pastors, a lot of people out there who
- 36:37Speaker 1: are dealing with so much and they're just so scared
- 36:42Speaker 1: to be in that position where they feel like they
- 36:45Speaker 1: need to sit down for a moment. And so yeah,
- 36:49Speaker 1: I commit you for sharing that and being transparent with that.
- 36:54Speaker 1: But I can't wait to see this work book. I
- 37:00Speaker 1: can't wait to see that because I really feel, I
- 37:02Speaker 1: really feel I want to. I want to get the
- 37:04Speaker 1: books too. I didn't get a chance to. I was
- 37:06Speaker 1: trying to get it before the show, but I wasn't
- 37:10Speaker 1: in a position to. But I really have a feeling
- 37:13Speaker 1: that this workbook is going to be something else. Your
- 37:15Speaker 1: workshops are going to be something else. And because you,
- 37:19Speaker 1: like I said, you're reaching every you have something for everybody,
- 37:26Speaker 1: and that's awesome, you know how. Uh And well, here
- 37:28Speaker 1: in California, I'm not sure out there they have the
- 37:31Speaker 1: no child left Behind act. You know, as you know
- 37:34Speaker 1: so with with your ministries, there's no no soul left behind.
- 37:39Speaker 1: Whether it's no soul left behind, you even got a
- 37:45Speaker 1: young stol you got an old soul, you know in between,
- 37:48Speaker 1: I got you, I got you. So yeah, absolutely, So.
- 37:55Speaker 1: I know Angela jumped on when I was having some
- 37:59Speaker 1: some some, but it is nice to know that you
- 38:04Speaker 1: are are you? Are your students inspired by you being
- 38:08Speaker 1: an author? Do they ever say, hey, I want to
- 38:10Speaker 1: write a book too.
- 38:13Speaker 4: That's funny. You asked me that actually, most of my
- 38:17Speaker 4: students know that I'm an author because this year I
- 38:22Speaker 4: didn't mention it to them last year, but this year
- 38:24Speaker 4: I did. When they started back to school, I basically
- 38:28Speaker 4: told them everything that I do outside of education. And
- 38:33Speaker 4: I found out that one of my students who I
- 38:35Speaker 4: taught last year that I have an opportunity of teaching
- 38:38Speaker 4: this year. She's a junior. She told me that she's
- 38:41Speaker 4: an author right now. And I was just trying to
- 38:45Speaker 4: figure out what's her plans after high school because her
- 38:50Speaker 4: class that our teacher and now is like a it
- 38:53Speaker 4: is called college success class. Just trying to figure out
- 38:57Speaker 4: what all my students aspiration and goals are after high school.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:02Speaker 4: Thing she told me was she wanted to basically continue
- 39:07Speaker 4: to write to get her books off the ground. And
- 39:10Speaker 4: I told her, you talk to the right person because
- 39:13Speaker 4: I'm an author myself. And we basically had a connection
- 39:19Speaker 4: there even though I already knew about her. She knew
- 39:21Speaker 4: about me because she took my class last year, and
- 39:24Speaker 4: we just a relationship since and I've been helping her.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Oh, that's awesome. That's so you're able to develop like
- 39:34Speaker 1: a common uh, you know, kind of like a common
- 39:38Speaker 1: interest that kind of creates a stronger bond where you
- 39:44Speaker 1: know where you could be able to pour into her.
- 39:47Speaker 1: And that's that's that's that's good. That's good. I like
- 39:51Speaker 1: how you say you try to see where your students are.
- 39:56Speaker 1: I would say your children, you're your students. Yeah, you know,
- 40:00Speaker 1: teendessee where and you know that's you know, that's that's
- 40:04Speaker 1: wonderful to hear because you have some teachers. Hey, three o'clock,
- 40:09Speaker 1: four o'clock, I'm out of here. You know, I'm not
- 40:11Speaker 1: trying to connect. Y'all better get this while it's on
- 40:14Speaker 1: the board, because when the bell ring, just like y'all running,
- 40:17Speaker 1: I'm running too. You know so, but the fact that
- 40:22Speaker 1: you take interest and you try to find something where
- 40:26Speaker 1: you could kind of meet them where they are and
- 40:29Speaker 1: be able to encourage them, that's priceless. That's that's that's
- 40:36Speaker 1: really priceless. And they will remember you, you know, whether
- 40:39Speaker 1: they appreciate it now or not. You'll be one of
- 40:42Speaker 1: the teachers that, you know, the kids will look back
- 40:45Speaker 1: to say, I, hell, remember I had that one teacher.
- 40:49Speaker 1: He tried to get me, you know, and so you know,
- 40:53Speaker 1: we all had that one teacher, right, you know that
- 40:56Speaker 1: we'd be like, you know what, they were hard or
- 40:58Speaker 1: they were this, and but you start realizing that it
- 41:01Speaker 1: was for our you know, it's for our good. So
- 41:04Speaker 1: by you pouring into the children and your students and
- 41:09Speaker 1: pouring to them and caring about what direction that they're
- 41:15Speaker 1: heading is phenomenal, phenomenal. And that's why I said, I
- 41:20Speaker 1: was really excited, and I'm kind of I'm kind of
- 41:23Speaker 1: upset for all the you know, because I wanted it
- 41:26Speaker 1: to flow. You know, I'm still excited. I'm still excited
- 41:34Speaker 1: that I got to learn more about you, and that
- 41:37Speaker 1: most important, the people can learn more about you because
- 41:41Speaker 1: at the end of the day, you know, you are
- 41:46Speaker 1: not only are your teacher, not only are you an author,
- 41:51Speaker 1: not only are you a minister, but you are also
- 41:54Speaker 1: a brand. So you know, we want your brand to
- 41:59Speaker 1: get out there and know the mini So if you
- 42:02Speaker 1: need some prayer, if you need some encouragement, you need
- 42:07Speaker 1: a book, you need some education, you're the all around guy, right,
- 42:16Speaker 1: so myself right, absol Lily, and so let the people
- 42:26Speaker 1: know where they can find I know we briefly talked
- 42:29Speaker 1: about the documentary and that it's going to be airing again,
- 42:33Speaker 1: but also as well, let everyone know where they can
- 42:38Speaker 1: get your material in order from you and connect with you.

- 43:29Speaker 1: Wonderful. I look at your marketing material on your Facebook
- 43:35Speaker 1: page and everything. I'm like boy it is boy band.
- 43:43Speaker 1: I love it. I love it. I really see you
- 43:48Speaker 1: going places and really do it well. But I really
- 43:52Speaker 1: feel like your your workshops are are going to really
- 43:59Speaker 1: make a impact, and I really feel like they are
- 44:02Speaker 1: going to make a difference, especially in leadership. You know.
- 44:09Speaker 1: I try to stay well rounded. I try not to
- 44:12Speaker 1: be to, you know, to, but I really feel what
- 44:16Speaker 1: you have is really really really necessary for the body
- 44:19Speaker 1: of Christ.
- 44:21Speaker 4: Yes, thank you, thank.
- 44:22Speaker 1: You, you know. And it's important because we need healthy
- 44:28Speaker 1: leaders because souls need to be saved, you know, and
- 44:34Speaker 1: so it's it's it's all a part of the plan, right,
- 44:38Speaker 1: you know. He healthy leaders, healthy leaders draw in souls, yes,
- 44:45Speaker 1: you know, and because we need to be healthy mentally
- 44:50Speaker 1: and physically all the way around. And because people watch us,
- 44:57Speaker 1: you know people, and especially in these times, you know,
- 45:01Speaker 1: I know we've all heard it and said it, and
- 45:03Speaker 1: you know, but we're in the end times and God
- 45:07Speaker 1: is really raising up a generation of people. And it's
- 45:12Speaker 1: important because I've also been, uh it's been in my
- 45:17Speaker 1: spirit as well as far as talking about the characters,
- 45:21Speaker 1: the characters of leadership. And you know, anytime when you
- 45:26Speaker 1: talk about things like that, you know it goes to
- 45:28Speaker 1: the messenger first, right, you know, so so God really
- 45:33Speaker 1: making sure that we have great, great characters. You know,
- 45:37Speaker 1: our anointing that we operate unders beautiful, right they it draws,
- 45:43Speaker 1: It draws people. But once you're not operating under that
- 45:46Speaker 1: anointing anymore, what do you look like? You know, are
- 45:50Speaker 1: you still drawing in your natural you know, are you
- 45:55Speaker 1: still drawing? But sometimes we're doing things backwards because we're
- 45:59Speaker 1: not healthy, and we can't even hear God because we're
- 46:05Speaker 1: not healthy. We have so much going on in here.
- 46:08Speaker 1: We don't know who voice sometimes we're listening to because
- 46:12Speaker 1: there's so many there's so many voices, and we're fighting
- 46:18Speaker 1: each day to find the right voice, you know. And
- 46:23Speaker 1: so if we can learn to be healthy mentally and physically,
- 46:31Speaker 1: we can hear, we can hear the instructions of God
- 46:34Speaker 1: because our lives depend on it, you know, us having
- 46:41Speaker 1: a healthy mind and being able to hear God. Our
- 46:44Speaker 1: lives depends on it, and the people that are assigned
- 46:47Speaker 1: to us lives depend on it. So that's why I said,
- 46:51Speaker 1: your your program is imperative you know, for everyone, because
- 46:56Speaker 1: you know, every everyone who touches your program, who touches
- 47:01Speaker 1: your program. I believe that it will draw them in
- 47:05Speaker 1: as well. It's it's a drawing tool, you know, because
- 47:10Speaker 1: you're you're leading by example, you know, and I feel
- 47:14Speaker 1: like that's going to draw the people in. And I
- 47:17Speaker 1: thank God for you. I thank God for you, sir.
- 47:21Speaker 1: I'm talking not to call you a young man, but
- 47:25Speaker 1: I thank God for you. And I you know, I
- 47:29Speaker 1: pray that God continues to strengthen you on your journey
- 47:34Speaker 1: and that He will continue to give you witty inventions. Yes,
- 47:40Speaker 1: because I believe your your brain and your voice is
- 47:45Speaker 1: necessary for such a time as this. You are necessary
- 47:49Speaker 1: for such a time as this, And I just pray
- 47:53Speaker 1: that that God continues to increase your territory because there's
- 47:58Speaker 1: something specially on the inside of you that the world needs,
- 48:02Speaker 1: and they need it now, not like not tomorrow, not
- 48:08Speaker 1: up the street, but right now. And you are in
- 48:12Speaker 1: a right now season. But you're also serving a right
- 48:17Speaker 1: now guy that will make sure that you have everything
- 48:21Speaker 1: that you need exceedingly and abundantly above all that you
- 48:26Speaker 1: can ask for things. And so I appreciate you coming
- 48:31Speaker 1: on the show today was short lived, but I really
- 48:36Speaker 1: appreciate you being here and spending the time with me,
- 48:38Speaker 1: and you are so cool people. We're just having technical
- 48:41Speaker 1: difficulty uses it's okay, and uh so yeah, you you you,
- 48:47Speaker 1: you are so smooth. So I look for you to
- 48:50Speaker 1: have your own show soon and uh and so hopefully
- 48:56Speaker 1: I will get to interview you again and you can
- 48:59Speaker 1: come back on this show and we can maybe talk
- 49:02Speaker 1: a little bit more about the workbook. Okay, yes, yeah,
- 49:07Speaker 1: when I when I get my copy and and uh
- 49:11Speaker 1: and I dive into it and we could get in
- 49:14Speaker 1: and we can maybe pick it apart, maybe not give
- 49:16Speaker 1: too much, but hey, okay, because that'd be writing everything
- 49:21Speaker 1: down what I need the book for. They gave it all.
- 49:23Speaker 1: But but maybe we can still do something with the
