Welfare Check Turns Into Standoff | Dayton News
A tense welfare check in Mercer County turned into a high-stakes standoff when a suspect with a history of convictions barricaded himself inside a home on State Route 119. Deputies called for backup, and officers from Coldwater and St. Henry PD responded as the situation escalated. The suspect, 37-year-old Casey Bowman, was eventually taken into custody without injury to anyone. During the operation, deputies also recovered a stolen car from Dayton with a stolen license plate from Huber Heights — now being processed as evidence. Bowman is currently jailed with no bond set.
