- 0:00Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Three O Take, where we talk
- 0:04all things Major League Baseball.
- 0:06Here's Kyle Corwin and Nate Reyes it.
- 0:11All starts right now. Welcome back to the Three O Take
- 0:16presented by Seek Geek. This is episode 422.
- 0:20I'll be your host, Kyle Cord. And I'm here again with my Co
- 0:25host, Nate Reyes. Nate.
- 0:29I'm back, baby. I'm back.
- 0:34How's it feel? Feels good, feels good.
- 0:38Man. Feels it.
- 0:40Feels weird. Feels weird.
- 0:43She's gonna get mad at me for telling the story.
- 0:45But when we were at the reception because, you know, I
- 0:49don't know if you remember like, the first time you said, like,
- 0:52my wife is. And it was like this weird
- 0:56moment where we're hanging out, having fun with everybody.
- 1:01And maid of honor was like tequila shots.
- 1:05And we were like, OK, so tequila shots get thrown back.
- 1:10And I look at her face and I could tell it's not sitting well
- 1:12immediately. And so she, like, starts to
- 1:16wander a certain direction. And I, like, tell her maid of
- 1:18honor I was like, get her to the bathroom because that's going to
- 1:21come back up in a SEC. She goes OK, OK, runs, runs and
- 1:24like grabs her, runs her to the bathroom.
- 1:27You know, I like wander off and go do something.
- 1:29I think your hunch was right, by the way.
- 1:31The way this story's going, I don't know if she'd she'd really
- 1:33like this, but continue. Yeah, yeah, you're right.
- 1:36But especially the first story, But whatever.
- 1:39And I'm like, going and talking with my parents and they're
- 1:43like, you having a good night, like you.
- 1:44You doing good? And I was like, yeah, doing
- 1:46great. My wife's puking in the bathroom
- 1:48right now. And I was like, wait, my wife,
- 1:51my wife's puking and like, would you like I5?
- 1:54Let's go. Oh yeah.
- 1:58So that was the first time it it came out.
- 2:01But yeah, man, feels good. Man.
- 2:04You know, the real, the the relief of it kind of all just
- 2:07kind of coming together and being finalized and done crazy,
- 2:12crazy to do it. And I mean basically playing the
- 2:15whole thing in in two months. So, well, yeah, safe to I could
- 2:22sleep for a week if I if I really.
- 2:24I believe it. But yeah, going good, it's.
- 2:28Quite a whirlwind. I know then I'll be, I'll be
- 2:30gone in two weeks again as as you know already listeners, I
- 2:35apologize but. This is your.
- 2:37Last I'm not that sorry. Yeah.
- 2:41Huh. You said you'll be gone in two
- 2:42weeks, but I thought you left the 9th. 19th.
- 2:48Oh, you leave the 19th. Oh, it's the 19th to the 29th.
- 2:51Yeah, there you go. OK.
- 2:53I thought it was the 9th through the 19th.
- 2:54OK. So you'll be around for a little
- 2:56bit then? Yeah, the next three.
- 3:00OK, the next three? Yeah, that works.
- 3:02That works some time. To get back to normalcy, just
- 3:07for a SEC. I'm sure the listeners
- 3:09appreciate it, 'cause I'm sure after two solo pods with yours
- 3:13truly, they're probably just dying to have.
- 3:14Go find a favorite. Host back.
- 3:17We'll figure it out. We'll make it work.
- 3:20Happy for you guys. Glad you're back.
- 3:22Thanks buddy. Thanks.
- 3:23Glad to have you. Glad to have you back on the
- 3:25pod. Got a lot to talk about right
- 3:28here off the top, though. You had texted me the other day
- 3:34when all this Tommy John news started breaking and you're
- 3:37like, we're going in on this on the next pod, right?
- 3:41Yeah, we're we're going in on this because this is, I mean I
- 3:47know it's not necessarily related, but it it just kind of
- 3:49puts things into perspective. I tweeted out I think it was
- 3:52yesterday. I was like we've had multiple
- 3:55announcements regarding season ending surgeries before the Red
- 3:59Sox. If you haven't played a home
- 4:00game yet and I mean that's that's a little alarming like
- 4:05forget the the Red Sox side of it.
- 4:07Just the fact that we've had these announcements already and
- 4:10I've I've seen the word epidemic thrown around and I think that's
- 4:13very accurate like this. This is an issue that seemingly
- 4:16is not going away but in the in the last handful of days we've
- 4:20we've received news that Shane Bieber will have season ending
- 4:25TJ Yuri Perez will undergo season ending TJ.
- 4:32Jonathan Loaizika is, I think he's avoiding TJ but will have
- 4:41season ending surgery to pair to repair the UCL.
- 4:44I don't know if that's like a yeah.
- 4:45How do you repair the UCL and not categorize it as TJI?
- 4:48Don't know what that's? Is it one of those internal
- 4:49brace situations? Oh yeah, I I think he's opting
- 4:53for the internal brace route. But either way.
- 4:57And then on top of that you've got Spencer Strider.
- 5:00Who? There's serious concerns,
- 5:04that's. That's what he's seeing.
- 5:06I don't want to now see, let's speak it into existence, but I
- 5:09think, I think we're close, we're knocking on the door.
- 5:12I think we can chalk it up. And like you say all the time
- 5:15it's it's one of these things where if this, if this is the
- 5:20conclusion that they're reaching behind closed doors, why not
- 5:24just get it out of the way? Like why are we, why are we
- 5:27waiting to make this kind of decision?
- 5:30I understand you want to explore all courses of of action there,
- 5:33but you know the the forearm, the elbows, those are never good
- 5:38places to start when it comes to an entry.
- 5:40The Those never lead to good news.
- 5:42No, but the I think the difference of like like for the
- 5:47perfect example of seeing like Garrett Cole going to get a
- 5:49second opinion, there wasn't like obvious structural damage.
- 5:54At at least they didn't come out and say that the Braves are
- 5:59coming out and saying that like there is cause for serious
- 6:02concern. We're getting a second opinion.
- 6:05But like I don't know man. The only the only name because
- 6:10like for us to sit here and say like yeah it's most likely gonna
- 6:13end up in TJ. The only name I can genuinely
- 6:16come up with is when Tanaka opted out and went like a rehab
- 6:21route and was able to come back the same season and ended up
- 6:27being pretty good that. But that's like a one off
- 6:30anomaly situation. I I think it's so unfortunate to
- 6:36say that like a lot of these power arms and like power
- 6:39pitchers, it's like we're just waiting for the first one to get
- 6:44out of the way, like at TJ's inevitable eventually, which is
- 6:48sad. Yeah.
- 6:54On that note, I I do have a couple items of of data here
- 6:58from USA TODAY. I was reading an article that
- 7:01they had released very, very recently in in wake of these
- 7:07reports. But they said that there were
- 7:11more than 260 Major League and minor league pitchers in 2021
- 7:16who had elbow surgeries, an increase of more than 400% from
- 7:2010 years ago. And then what, in regards to
- 7:23what you were saying, if it's almost a foregone conclusion
- 7:27that at least one is going to happen and you're just kind of
- 7:31waiting for that second hat to drop it, said USA TODAY said
- 7:34pitchers requiring a second Tommy John or elbow surgery has
- 7:38now doubled. Yeah, dude, I can't.
- 7:48I I still think I know the immediate question that
- 7:52everyone's going to, especially on Twitter.
- 7:54It's like, is it pitch clock? Is it pitch clock?
- 7:59I think it is a perfect storm of things.
- 8:06Them taking away grip entirely for pitchers has to be it.
- 8:12And I keep it recycled today and I'm so glad it did 'cause it
- 8:15that that Glass Now interview that happened a few years ago.
- 8:20I think it was COVID didn't. Didn't he get hurt in COVID and
- 8:28then or was it 2022 he got hurt and then missed last year?
- 8:34I feel like it was 22. I think it was. 22 He got hurt,
- 8:3722 He breaks down. It's a really good interview.
- 8:40If you haven't seen it, it's maybe two or three minutes long.
- 8:42But he really, like, breaks down of talking about what happens
- 8:46when a ball loses its tackiness and how it gets like he he
- 8:51describes it as, like dusty, like it's like dirt when it
- 8:55slides. And So what he's doing is having
- 8:57to grip a fastball deeper in his hand, having to grip a
- 9:02curveball. He's he's like, talks about
- 9:03choking it. And what that does by gripping
- 9:07it harder is that you're going to get that pressure and that
- 9:11strength coming out of your forearm.
- 9:12Where he talks about, like, my pitching coach wants me to treat
- 9:15this thing like an egg. Now I can't because of this
- 9:18grit. And he admits to being, hey,
- 9:20sunscreen and rosin was like my thing then he's like, you best
- 9:25believe any of your favorite pitchers have been doing the
- 9:29same thing. So again, this just goes back to
- 9:32like in the MOBPA coming out, that statement about like, you
- 9:37know, the MLB needs to crack down and stuff.
- 9:40Like you're the one that you're the one that's accepting these
- 9:43rule changes. Like there has to be a mutual
- 9:46agreement. You're saying yes to this, Like
- 9:49both sides need to come together and come up with some type of
- 9:52legal substance? Are you you're referring to the
- 9:55statements that came out? Yeah, yeah, So I can.
- 9:59I've got those queued up here for you.
- 10:01This is a. Quick one, right?
- 10:02It was only like a couple sentences from the players
- 10:06association anyway. Yeah, So what?
- 10:09What MLB came out and said, or I I think the statement was
- 10:12officially from Tony Clark. But he said, the statement said
- 10:17Despite unanimous player opposition and significant
- 10:20concerns regarding health and safety, the Commissioner's
- 10:22Office reduced the length of the pitch clock last December, just
- 10:25one season removed from imposing the most significant rule
- 10:28changes or rule change in decades.
- 10:31Since then, our concerns about the health impacts of reduced
- 10:35recovery time have only intensified.
- 10:37The league's unwillingness thus far to acknowledge or study the
- 10:41effects of these profound change changes is an unprecedented
- 10:44threat to our game and its most valuable asset, the players.
- 10:49Very shortly after that, the league came out and responded,
- 10:54saying this statement ignores the empirical evidence and much
- 10:57more significant long term trend over multiple decades of
- 11:01velocity and spin increases that are highly correlated with arm
- 11:04injuries. Nobody wants to see pitchers get
- 11:06hurt in this game, which is why MLB is currently undergoing a
- 11:09significant comprehensive research study into the causes
- 11:12of this long term increase, interviewing prominent medical
- 11:15experts across baseball, which to date have has been consistent
- 11:19with an independent analysis by Johns Hopkin, Johns Hopkins
- 11:22University, that found no evidence to support that the
- 11:25introduction of the pitchcock has increased injuries.
- 11:27In fact, JHU found no evidence that pitchers who work quickly
- 11:31in 2023 were more likely to sustain an injury that those
- 11:36then those who worked less quickly on average.
- 11:39JHU also found no evidence that pitchers who speed up their pace
- 11:43were more likely to sustain an injury than those who did not.
- 11:47Yeah. See and and that's what I'm
- 11:49saying is that I think this is like a microcosm of the perfect
- 11:52storm, right? When you have, and I don't think
- 11:55anybody but a player can specifically come out and say
- 11:58like, hey, that time in between reps.
- 12:00I mean think about any like average Joe going to the gym,
- 12:03you finish a set of bench press, shoulder press, tricep pull
- 12:08downs, whatever you're doing, you finish a set and like
- 12:12sometimes you need 45 seconds to a minute to get into that next
- 12:16set. And so for this type of action,
- 12:20for a pitcher to do this over and over again, like there's you
- 12:23can't just say across the board that it doesn't affect anybody.
- 12:28You're talking about guys that pitch differently.
- 12:30You're talking about guys that you know, but overall, I mean
- 12:34our game is is obsessed with with velocity, is obsessed with
- 12:39spin. And Chris Bassett came out and
- 12:43said it before in in spring training.
- 12:46He did an interview saying like we need to get back to pitching,
- 12:48we need to get back to our game being OK with 9293 and spotting
- 12:54up and those guys getting a chance, 'cause I mean, how many
- 12:59minor leaguers fizzle out because they don't crack into
- 13:03the 9697 range, You know what I mean?
- 13:06How many guys get overlooked because they can't?
- 13:09We're so, so, so obsessed with it, John Smoltz is quoted
- 13:14saying. Like, I only geared up maybe
- 13:16four or five times during an outing where I'm going 100%.
- 13:19The rest of the game has to be 90 percent, 80%, like whatever
- 13:25it is to get through. And so, like when we talk about
- 13:30our game like changing so much, it's it's just a perfect storm.
- 13:35I'm not going to sit here and solely blame it on pitch clock,
- 13:39but I'm not going to say pitch clock is completely innocent in
- 13:43this conversation. Yeah, I I mean I know we've both
- 13:49shared our thoughts on the pitch clock.
- 13:51Especially shortly thereafter the news was introduced that
- 13:56that was going to become a thing in in Major League Baseball.
- 14:00And I know us and a lot of other people jumped on that and and
- 14:04rightfully so, like it certainly introduced some some issues to
- 14:07the game that weren't there before, although it did, you
- 14:11know it's it's alleviated some other things.
- 14:15But it's it's important I think for us as baseball fans to step
- 14:20back and realize like we can't just make the pitch clock the
- 14:24boogeyman. Like this is a much more complex
- 14:26issue. 100%. And that to your like you were
- 14:30saying, I think it's, I think it's a perfect storm.
- 14:33I think the this infatuation with velocity has has only
- 14:39continued this trend of of throwing instead of pitching.
- 14:45And you know, you, you open up, you open up social media and you
- 14:51see drills of these high schoolers and college players
- 14:55doing just the most asinine things where you're like,
- 15:01there's no way. We were kids.
- 15:03Like, weighted balls were like, scary.
- 15:06Like, don't touch those. Like, don't do that.
- 15:08Too off, Don't do. And now you're just seeing kids
- 15:11long tossing. Long tossed with weighted balls
- 15:15like that's not the human body is not designed to do that.
- 15:21It's just not and and kind of going off of that.
- 15:23There is a here's a tweet from our our friend friend of the
- 15:27show Dallas Braden. He put out a tweet that I think
- 15:29made great sense on that very issue.
- 15:33He said we are bigger, faster, stronger than we've ever been as
- 15:36humans. We have tech to aid in creating
- 15:39the most efficient movement patterns that generate maximum
- 15:41velocity. I believe we have hit our
- 15:43evolutionary cap as far as the force the human body can
- 15:47tolerate in regard to the torque we're able to create.
- 15:50We know how to build the this. I love this, he said.
- 15:52We know how to build the engines, but it feels like the
- 15:55frame just can't handle the horsepower.
- 15:58There's a lot more nuance to this aside from quote.
- 16:01Guys just throw too hard. Yeah.
- 16:04I don't think you can put it any better than that.
- 16:06It's the most perfectly worded summarization I've ever heard.
- 16:11We we have I I I think I have to agree with them.
- 16:14We we I think we've we've maxed out we've capped out on what we
- 16:20can do velocity wise. I just, I I don't see us like
- 16:25going any further with this, right?
- 16:27And I think you're seeing it in the shape in the form of these
- 16:31injuries like we the, the human body just cannot keep up.
- 16:35I agree. I agree.
- 16:37I don't know, man. Like, I think there are certain
- 16:39ways. Like you remember how we were so
- 16:42nervous about the pitch clock when it first came out and it
- 16:45was on every score bug, like every all the time it was
- 16:48popping up. Now it's like a lot of score
- 16:51bugs don't even have it on there.
- 16:53Like there is like I I know I watch some games you don't even
- 16:56see a pitch clock until there's possibly a violation.
- 17:02Maybe we get rid of the radar gun.
- 17:05Maybe maybe we just stop showing it so much.
- 17:09You know maybe it's an in in in stadium type thing.
- 17:14But the the obsession is is scary at this point, It really
- 17:20is. It's very it quite literally is
- 17:22an obsession. Like I said, you you open up
- 17:23social media you see these guys they're you know it's it's a
- 17:27group of teammates from a a given high school or college
- 17:30team and they're all huddled up in some sort of indoor facility.
- 17:34They've got the Nets dropped down and they're going just full
- 17:38send into the Nets. No with no concern for accuracy
- 17:44or mechanics. It's just what's the highest
- 17:49number we can hit on that radar? Gun and celebrating, Celebrating
- 17:53life, Cracking 90 at 13 years old like it's just insane of.
- 17:57What are we doing? Yeah, I agree.
- 18:01I did find myself going down a little bit of a rabbit hole on
- 18:04Twitter. There's some guy that's like
- 18:07he's been doing it for a while, probably a year plus talking
- 18:12about this. It's a delivery issue.
- 18:15And he's like freeze framing these pictures of of pitchers
- 18:20that are like at here, like glove side, but they're flat
- 18:25here. And then they'll have like a
- 18:27picture of like Nolan Ryan. And he's up and he's like, he's
- 18:30talking about how like anywhere in this range is fine.
- 18:33You're 90° up with the arm all the way down to maybe 45 when
- 18:37you start getting flat. And he's like predicting
- 18:41injuries before they're happening.
- 18:42He's like this guy's eventually gonna have this.
- 18:45And it's like, I don't, I don't know, I don't know.
- 18:49But I it it does go into the account that, like what Dallas
- 18:53was saying about like we have these sensors.
- 18:55Like you have guys putting on sensors all over their body in
- 18:59the offseason figuring out how to posture themselves
- 19:03mechanically to put as much possible torque that as that
- 19:08they can to create that velocity.
- 19:11And it's like our our bodies aren't made for this man.
- 19:15Our bodies are not made for this.
- 19:17And and look, I I I want, I I want this to be heard.
- 19:21I'm not. I'm not knocking the innovation
- 19:25like the the whole. I think there's a lot of good
- 19:28that's come out of it. Sure and like the Max effort
- 19:30into the Nets I I've seen that I I've had enough of that.
- 19:35I'm I'm I'm out on that and and things like that but you know
- 19:39with these a lot of the things that we didn't have growing up
- 19:42playing ball it's like I'm not gonna just because I don't
- 19:45understand it doesn't mean I'm gonna I'm gonna knock it.
- 19:47I I understand that there's there's a a major wave in terms
- 19:52of development understanding just how the body works and and
- 20:01how that relates to performance on the diamond.
- 20:04But I think we need to. I mean, dare I say, slow it
- 20:07down, Let this research catch up a little bit and say, and
- 20:10realize rather, oh, maybe this quest of throwing 115 maybe is
- 20:18not a worth worthwhile endeavor because we're seeing through
- 20:23this data, through this, these tests that the human body just
- 20:27can't do it. And it.
- 20:29Can be I think we're I I think the the innovation is outpacing
- 20:33the data so put it simply like I, I I I think that it's gonna
- 20:40take I, I don't know how many how many more injuries like this
- 20:44it's gonna take how many more reports of guys having multiple
- 20:47TJS. We're gonna see a ton of band
- 20:49aids. I think we're gonna see a ton of
- 20:50band aids over the next few years and it's potentially some
- 20:55type of change to the amount a normalization of a six seven man
- 21:00rotation. Like it it is, this, it's again,
- 21:04it's just this perfect storm of all these things, these guys not
- 21:06getting built up and and ramped up properly in minor league
- 21:10systems because they're trying to save bullets, right.
- 21:13Like it. It's this it's this recovery
- 21:16time where you have guys like reporting back quicker.
- 21:18You have some guys that don't know when to take time off, like
- 21:21I it's it's tough, man. There's gonna be band aids.
- 21:24There's gonna be random things that they're gonna try and do.
- 21:30I I bet they changed the criteria for a win.
- 21:33Making the win more relevant. Maybe we drop it down to 4
- 21:36innings instead of you know it's like I I just not it's not it's
- 21:43not like it's going to solve things in my mind.
- 21:47I think we need to get back to, like, it sounds kind of old man
- 21:51and grumpy, but like, we got to get back to the pitchers we grew
- 21:55up watching and guys that are throwing upper 80s and low 90s
- 21:58but like, can place wherever they want and then gear it up to
- 22:0195 every once in a while. Like that's got to become more
- 22:04of a an acceptable thing by organizations.
- 22:10Yeah, that's where it starts. It's scouting.
- 22:12Yeah, like they have to be OK with that stuff.
- 22:15If you can get out, I don't care.
- 22:18That has to be more of the mentality.
- 22:21No, I mean and I agree with you and on that I I don't have the
- 22:24number pulled up. But in that article that I was
- 22:26reading or one of the articles I was reading, it talked about the
- 22:29money that these teams are spending on the, you know the
- 22:37side effects, the the collateral damage of these injuries.
- 22:42And it's a lot man. I think it's like up in the it's
- 22:44like in the billions like the the test you gotta you gotta
- 22:48have run the the contracts that like the guaranteed contracts
- 22:52that you gotta you gotta fork out for guys that are you know
- 22:55just riding the pine rehab and whatever it is.
- 22:58But to to what you were saying I agree with you I think it needs
- 23:03to become more acceptable more widely accepted.
- 23:07But I I at least right now I have a hard time seeing that
- 23:11because it's not it's not sexy what's sexy is is or or
- 23:17continuing that pursuit that I was talking about of of we we've
- 23:21hit the one O 3 one O 4 mark now now let's get to 1 O let's get
- 23:26to 110. How can we get to 110 Once you
- 23:29get to 110 if that's even possible how do we get to 115.
- 23:32Like it's it's just going to be this never ending pursuit and I
- 23:36I think like with anything too much of anything too much of a
- 23:40good thing becomes a bad thing and I think this pursuit of
- 23:46increase velocity it's gonna it's gonna flip the game on its
- 23:50head and I just have a hard time seeing players especially at the
- 23:55younger level and even at the Major League level putting
- 24:01putting the brakes on and saying we have we have to stop.
- 24:04Like this is this is getting too much because you know there's
- 24:08you could go you could go into the the weeds on it.
- 24:12But at the end of the day pretty safe to to assume that velocity
- 24:18equals dollars for a team because the velocity means that
- 24:21that pitcher's gonna have a little bit more of an edge
- 24:24assuming they can they can spot and that means they're gonna
- 24:30provide a little bit more output and that's gonna be more dollars
- 24:33in the pockets of these teams. So I I just have a hard time
- 24:36seeing these teams getting together and be like, you know,
- 24:39we gotta, we gotta dial it back. Yeah, until we get to the point
- 24:43where they're losing entire rotations over the course of a
- 24:45year. Yeah.
- 24:46Because otherwise I I just don't see how we stop it.
- 24:49Yeah I don't know man. I I would say if there's any any
- 24:54dads or coaches out there for for youth that are listening.
- 24:57I I do think it's try to subdue that obsession in some way and
- 25:03and there's no reason a 12 year old should be worrying about a
- 25:06radar gun you know what I mean? This is something that's it's
- 25:10been shoved in kids faces and they're obsessed with it, you
- 25:13know, way, way, way too soon. There's something about like
- 25:20there's a reason why our game is what it is.
- 25:23There's something about certain old school things that that you
- 25:28can't really necessarily change it, you know?
- 25:36But there there's band aids coming.
- 25:37That's kind of my that's my thought process.
- 25:40There's gonna be little things that they're gonna try and do.
- 25:44Yeah, I'm with you. Do I got a question for you
- 25:50switching gears here, do you by chance have plans on I gotta
- 26:00pull up the date here? Uh oh, did you by chance have
- 26:04plans on September 26th? It's my stepmom's birthday.
- 26:10Outside of that I got nothing are.
- 26:13We trying to catch the last ever game at the Oakland Coliseum for
- 26:17the Oakland days. Are we trying to make a trip?
- 26:22To Oakland. I wouldn't hate it, but I might
- 26:27hate it. I mean, what a, what a story,
- 26:34man. It became official, I believe.
- 26:38What was it Friday, Thursday, Friday.
- 26:42Somewhere in there it was announced that the A's will in
- 26:46fact leave Oakland after this season and will play.
- 26:51I believe it's three years in Sacramento with an option for
- 26:551/4, which would be 2028 based on where the Las Vegas plans are
- 27:03at. If at that point they're still
- 27:07even on the table, who who knows, man, this like this is.
- 27:12I mean, can we call this a risk on on behalf of Oakland like
- 27:15you're you're you're getting out of Dodge.
- 27:18But I don't know if this Vegas thing is as certain as they're
- 27:22trying to make it out to be. I hate it.
- 27:26I hate all of this. I'm so done.
- 27:29I'm so over it. Dissolve this franchise.
- 27:33I don't care. I it sucks, 'cause it's like
- 27:37it's such an it's a long lasting.
- 27:39How long have they been around? 8090 years.
- 27:42I mean, they've been around a long time. 56 in the East Bay.
- 27:48But overall, like the Phillies, you can go back to just the
- 27:51overall athletics organization. I oh man, it sucks.
- 27:56I mean I I do. I am at that point where I I do
- 27:59kind of feel bad for the fans in some ways.
- 28:01But I'm over. Like, I'm just I'm over it.
- 28:03Like you. The owner does suck.
- 28:05But like I don't. I don't know, man.
- 28:07Like there's no there's no perfect fix to this.
- 28:12This is weird that the press conference for the owners
- 28:15talking about like can't wait to see other guys hitting home runs
- 28:19out of there. It's like it's just.
- 28:21Yeah, can't wait to see stars like Aaron Judge putting balls
- 28:25450 feet into the bleachers. I've never seen someone that's
- 28:29so tone deaf. It's crazy.
- 28:32Dude, I can I can. I give you a quick rundown so as
- 28:35you know I I'm, I'm reading a lot of articles and so good for
- 28:38you. I I, I read another article
- 28:41about this whole Oakland A situation and this was news to
- 28:44me. I hadn't realized that for some
- 28:46reason this wasn't talked about more when it happened.
- 28:50I'm sure it was making its rounds in the Oakland circles,
- 28:52but it didn't make its way to my feed until I I was reading this
- 28:56article. But apparently with this, with
- 28:58this whole presser thing, let me just read you the the minute by
- 29:04minute breakdown here. It said team president Dave
- 29:09Caval called Oakland chief of staff Lee Leigh Hansen at 7:36
- 29:17AM to inform her of the team's decision.
- 29:18Owner John Fisher followed 5 minutes later with a call to
- 29:21Oakland Mayor Shang Thao, and the team announced its move on
- 29:26social media 10 minutes after that.
- 29:28Within two hours of the announcement, the team held an
- 29:31outdoor news conference in the rain and wind at Sutter Health
- 29:35Park. Fisher spoke for one minute and
- 29:3745 seconds and left the ballpark quickly afterward, taking no
- 29:41questions. I don't think I realized how
- 29:46much of A dumpster fire that that day was.
- 29:51How many total minutes was all of that total that up for me,
- 29:54'cause, I mean, that's fast. Well, I don't, I don't know what
- 29:58time the OK or yeah, so. Press conference.
- 30:02I'm assuming it was a couple hours later.
- 30:04It said within two hours, the announcement of the team held
- 30:06the outdoor news conference. So if we're talking.
- 30:10This is not even 3 hours worth of stuff.
- 30:12Like you could play it, you could.
- 30:13It really isn't, yeah. I think it's.
- 30:14Sooner than a ball game would finish, I.
- 30:16Think it's Yeah, sooner than a ball game in in the year 2024.
- 30:21We're making the official announcement and ownership is
- 30:25out the door in under 3 hours, man.
- 30:31I did. I did see somewhere on Twitter
- 30:34that I think no, like Coliseum staff knew.
- 30:41They found out through Twitter like through this.
- 30:45Which is another, which is another thing.
- 30:48Caval said he conducted an all staff zoom meeting after the
- 30:51announcement, in which he informed team employees that
- 30:53there will be significant layoffs as a result of this
- 30:55decision. He chose not to say what
- 30:58percentage of the workforce would be reduced, saying it has
- 31:01yet to be decided, but said that employees will be let go at the
- 31:04conclusion of the season. This guy's such a scumbag.
- 31:09I don't understand how MLB hasn't stepped in.
- 31:16Not everything has to be unanimous, You know what I mean?
- 31:18Like these owners, there's got to be like a majority vote to be
- 31:21like this guy's not good for our game at this point.
- 31:26Well, honestly, what I what I think and I I know about as much
- 31:31as the average baseball the non Oakland a fan does.
- 31:36My guess is that this whole deal has gone a lot more S than I
- 31:43think these higher ups and these owners and executives around the
- 31:48league would have hoped, including Oakland A, including
- 31:53the Oakland A's front office. But I think this is quickly
- 32:00turning into and has been for some time.
- 32:04Just to hold your nose until it's over situation because this
- 32:10whole not taking questions, not having replies turned on on on
- 32:15Twitter for the team account. It's just very like all right,
- 32:19let's just get through this. Let's rip the Band-Aid off as
- 32:23quickly as we can, even though this Band-Aid is taking.
- 32:26Forever. To come off.
- 32:28Every hair has been pulled with this.
- 32:31Unbelievable. It's super, super unfair.
- 32:40I think. Just like it is getting to this
- 32:42point where like the rest of baseball's, you know, tapping
- 32:45into this, it's. And that's where I do kind of
- 32:48feel bad for the A's because, like, it's embarrassing.
- 32:51It's embarrassing in multitude of ways.
- 32:53Like for just baseball fans in general, like, this is not OK.
- 33:02It's not good. Like, there's enough issues
- 33:04going on. This is like one of the worst.
- 33:09Yeah this was very much self-inflicted on behalf of the
- 33:12AS like you didn't have to you didn't have to handle it this
- 33:14way. the IT it very much seemed like they were trying to just
- 33:17steamroll their way into Vegas. They're they weren't gonna hear
- 33:21the ownership was not gonna hear out any sort of reason from from
- 33:27their whatever whoever's in their inner circle.
- 33:30It just seemed like the the individuals involved in the
- 33:35ultimate decision making process had it set in their minds what
- 33:40they wanted to do and they were going to do what they could to
- 33:44accomplish at at whatever cost. Here's I think where I'm
- 33:48struggling the most is like how does the move?
- 33:52How does how does it even get to a vote without the OK from the
- 33:58city? How do you how does it even get
- 34:03to the point of owners voting on it and less And Las Vegas is
- 34:07like, OK, green light. And and that's what I'm saying
- 34:11the process that's why. That's why I don't think this
- 34:14Vegas thing is is as certain as they're trying to give off the
- 34:18impression that it is because we, and we've already talked
- 34:21about it at length like you said, we're we're kind of over
- 34:23it at this point for how much we've talked about it.
- 34:25But the OR is it the mayor of Vegas literally was like, yeah,
- 34:29figure out a way to make it work in Oakland, because we're good
- 34:32here. Right.
- 34:35And you're seeing all of these, these article headlines, Oak,
- 34:38the Oakland A's are moving to Sacramento before their Vegas
- 34:41move. And I'm like, what Vegas move?
- 34:43Yeah, we're not. We're not guaranteed a Vegas
- 34:46move at this. There's a Let's just say there's
- 34:48a reason there's a option for a fourth year.
- 34:51Let's take four years to build a stadium.
- 34:55It takes four years to potentially get this approval
- 34:58pushed through and the agreement to go and start breaking ground.
- 35:03Oh, this is gross. You might as well go where To a
- 35:06city that wants you. There's plenty of cities that
- 35:09would happily take you. I don't understand the 1st.
- 35:12Being in Vegas, I don't think so.
- 35:15I think there are plenty of cities that would happily accept
- 35:17an expansion team, but they would not.
- 35:20I don't think any team is taking this on because you have to
- 35:23think and not it's it's kind of a weird comparison, but bear
- 35:27with me. It's kind of like the Bauer
- 35:29thing where it's like like, yeah, it it might be nice to
- 35:34some degree, but like you have to you bring that that Flack
- 35:38with you. And I think, I think a city is
- 35:41going to look at that and be like I I don't know if I'm
- 35:44really into having all that press tagging along.
- 35:51I don't know, man. I think I I just.
- 35:56I wonder if like, maybe if if Vegas doesn't eventually get
- 36:00pushed through, MLB steps in. I mean wasn't didn't MLB step in
- 36:05for the Dodgers? We're, I don't remember the
- 36:09names offhand. They were a married couple and
- 36:11they were going through a divorce and they were the owners
- 36:16and MLB stepped in and was like, we're running the show now, you
- 36:19guys are done. And it was only for a year or
- 36:23two. And then I think that's when
- 36:25Magic Johnson and and crew came in and purchased.
- 36:28It was right before then. There's got to be some like some
- 36:32type of clause or stipulation where it's like you're running
- 36:36this organization into the ground and you're just burning
- 36:40bridges everywhere while you're. Dealing but but the question is
- 36:44is who's gonna do that because we know it's we know very well
- 36:47it's not gonna be Rob Manfred to step up and and do that he's
- 36:49because. He's done in 27, right?
- 36:55Was it 5 years from now, I think?
- 36:57He said. Oh, so 28 OK or 29?
- 37:01That sounds right, Yeah. Is it five years from now from
- 37:03his announcement? I think it, yeah.
- 37:05I think it was 5 from. 29 Yeah, because that doesn't make sense.
- 37:10Like we're gonna the next CBA is in 27.
- 37:17So I think get past that, add in your expansion teams, you know,
- 37:23do your victory lap and then retire.
- 37:25I mean and we'll touch on it here towards the end but look at
- 37:28this whole not to not to rehash this necessarily but look at how
- 37:33he's handling this whole fanatics thing radio silence and
- 37:38that affects the whole league and to some degree yeah this as
- 37:42thing affects the league the the entire league in in some way
- 37:45shape or form but I mean he's he's not really stepping up and
- 37:50saying much on that so I don't I don't see why why he would step
- 37:55in and and go yeah we really need to clean this I I'm with
- 37:58you. I think Major League Baseball
- 38:00does need to step in and be like, OK, that you guys have had
- 38:03more than enough chances to to figure out a better way and you
- 38:08haven't found it. So we're taking over.
- 38:09But I just, I don't. I don't know who that would be
- 38:12and I don't think anybody's going over Rob Manford's head to
- 38:14do that. And you start a coup and you
- 38:20plan a coup. Well, I was reading today and it
- 38:25sounds like Hugh, I've seen is moving further and further away
- 38:28from the idea of being the next commissioner.
- 38:30I think it sounds like he's made it very clear that he has no
- 38:32interest in doing that. So that hope is lost.
- 38:35But who knows? Maybe the league spirals
- 38:39downward so much that he has to answer the bat call and come
- 38:46save us all that. 'D be cool.
- 38:51I'm over it. What are you, What are your
- 38:54thoughts on them kind of taking a Washington football team
- 38:59approach with their name? Just just the strangest
- 39:03approach. And we're we're going by the A's
- 39:06for the next three to four years.
- 39:08Yeah. No Oakland, just the A's.
- 39:16I I think it's even more strange that that leaked faculty note,
- 39:24if you will. I talked about that.
- 39:26They had. I talked about that on on the
- 39:29Solo Pod last week that. Was specifically like removing
- 39:33anything. This is rooted in Oakland.
- 39:36Yeah, dude, it it's such a mess over there.
- 39:38It is. I can't, like, you just can't be
- 39:41upset with anybody that's attached to the organization
- 39:45from like an employee standpoint.
- 39:46Like this is all this is 'cause they're they're flying along the
- 39:50same way the rest of us are. They're they're finding things
- 39:53out on social media. They're getting invites to zoom
- 39:56calls where they're being told these things.
- 39:58They're it's not it's nobody's, it's not concession stand
- 40:03worker's fault. It's not the the stadium
- 40:05security's fault. They're finding out these things
- 40:08the same way we are and it the the blame solely falls in the
- 40:13lap of of Fisher and company. Goon.
- 40:17What's it goon? What a mess.
- 40:21Curious to see what the way Jersey looks like if they ever
- 40:25get jerseys. Are they a part of the group
- 40:29that's not getting jerseys? Oh, that's AII wish we could
- 40:33transition and actually let's transition into that.
- 40:37I had it originally in closing the book, but I I feel like it.
- 40:41We may go on a little bit more fanatics.
- 40:46I I don't believe the A's are in the mix in to answer your
- 40:50question, it might be. If they're, if they're getting
- 40:52to get new ones. That's true, but the the latest
- 40:56update, last episode, I was talking about how the IT was the
- 41:03Mariners were waiting on their cream jerseys and the oh man,
- 41:12who was it? There's another team, the
- 41:17Cardinals. They're waiting on their their
- 41:20victory blue jerseys like the the baby blue, the powder blue
- 41:24unis. Hadn't got those there.
- 41:26I don't know if you saw saw my post that I put out.
- 41:28They're not getting those until most likely June.
- 41:33What the? Cardinals.
- 41:34Yeah, the Cardinals? Not.
- 41:35Most likely. Not getting those till June.
- 41:37The Mariners, I believe are expected, are hopeful that they
- 41:42get those by, I think at some point this month.
- 41:49Not nearly as long as June, but sometime soon.
- 41:53But the latest update that I I wanted to include in today's
- 41:56episode to talk about is now. The Rangers and the Brewers are
- 42:00waiting on their city connects, both of which I believe were for
- 42:06Friday home games. But neither team has those
- 42:09available, so they are out of luck in that regard and we're
- 42:14we're just learning more that these teams are without, without
- 42:21uniforms. Did we ever get like an official
- 42:26reasoning as to why one of the largest sports apparel companies
- 42:37the world has ever known can't manufacture their own jerseys
- 42:47and why they have outsourced to Fanatics?
- 42:50Do we ever get a an official reasoning for that?
- 42:53According to reports, and I put this in the posts, Fanatics
- 42:57cannot ship the jerseys until they get them in stock, and then
- 43:02pretty much every comment on the post was my brother.
- 43:06You manufacture the jerseys. I don't know dude.
- 43:11It makes, it makes. Sense.
- 43:12Making them they make everything.
- 43:16They they make everything. Here's my theory.
- 43:19I was talking about this last night with a group of friends.
- 43:21Actually, my theory. No idea if this is right once
- 43:28sponsorship patches started coming on.
- 43:32Who owns Fanatics? Sorry, hold on.
- 43:34Can I pause your 'cause? I know I'm gonna forget this.
- 43:37Hold. Hold that thought.
- 43:38Put a pin in that. Did you see the Did you see the
- 43:42thing floating around from Yankee Stadium?
- 43:44Yeah, where you can like get a custom jersey and add it too.
- 43:46Add add the sponsorship patch onto the jersey.
- 43:50Who's doing and you're paying $15.00 to do it.
- 43:53Yeah, who's doing that? Save $15.00 with the
- 43:58sponsorship. Common sense would say if I'm
- 44:00gonna, if I'm gonna wear a sponsorship patch, that I would
- 44:04be able to take the money off of my jersey in exchange for the
- 44:07sponsorship. Here's my theory.
- 44:11Who owns fanatics? Does MOB own fanatics?
- 44:17No, I think no. Fanatics owns.
- 44:22Well, they own Majestic. That's something that's a little
- 44:25foggy for people, 'cause people are like, go back to Majestic
- 44:28and it's like, well, Majestic is owned by Fanatics now I.
- 44:31Think just buying them and absorbing them is one thing.
- 44:34Fanatics is, I'm assuming Dissolved Majestic.
- 44:38But when you buy something off of MLB.com, is that not
- 44:41Fanatics? Yeah, like if you go to the if
- 44:44you go to like ML or I'll do it right now, you go to
- 44:47mlb.com/shop. The website looks exactly like
- 44:51Fanatics, right? That don't do that.
- 44:53It's not a real website that says oh, if we drop the ball,
- 44:55you would think mlb.com/shop would be a website.
- 44:58Seems. Pretty.
- 44:59I believe it's MLB Shop. Dot com.
- 45:02Dot com. That's Fanatics, no?
- 45:07With MLB logos in place. It literally says MLB Shop at
- 45:10the Top a Fanatics experience. OK, here's my theory.
- 45:15Once the sponsorship patches got the green light, I believe that
- 45:23if Nike cause, Nike's just throwing the logo on there,
- 45:27right? Nike's given fanatics the rights
- 45:30to put that logo on there. We're getting paid to put that
- 45:33logo on there. That's my understanding.
- 45:36My theory is that once the sponsorship patches started
- 45:39coming into play, Nike could no longer produce the jersey
- 45:43because they would have to get a cut for from those sponsors.
- 45:49Like if what is it ADT? Who are they with Padres?
- 45:54No, that's Motorola. Motorola.
- 45:55He is Marlins. Let's say, let's say, Motorola.
- 45:59Is that All right, I want to throw.
- 46:00I know it's embarrassing. I want to throw that patch on
- 46:03your jersey. Nike's gonna have to get a cut
- 46:06of that if they're manufacturing those jerseys.
- 46:09So I think this transition of power to make Fanatics make the
- 46:14jersey slap a Nike logo on there.
- 46:17Nike gets paid for that. But now the sponsorship stuff
- 46:21goes right to MLB because the Jersey's being produced by MLB
- 46:26under the umbrella of Fanatics. Does that make sense?
- 46:29Am I going too far on the tinfoil hat here or does it?
- 46:33Seem kind of logical, Yeah. No, it definitely makes sense.
- 46:36But there is a lot of like fuzziness because I keep seeing
- 46:40people like, I mean, I don't want to call them like
- 46:42bootlickers, but they're like coming into the fence of
- 46:45fanatics and they'll be like, it's not fanatics problem, it's
- 46:48Nike's problem. Nike.
- 46:50My understanding is that Nike is the designer of the reforms and
- 46:57they're manufactured by fanatics.
- 46:59And I and by and by Fanatics being I'm assuming owned by MLB,
- 47:05those sponsorship patches mean that 100% of that money's going
- 47:09to MLB and or MLB organization like Padres, right?
- 47:15But if you if Nike's still making the jerseys, I think they
- 47:19have to be getting a cut of that sponsorship deal.
- 47:24I think that's why we've seen everything transition away from
- 47:27Nike, because there's no way Nike can't do that.
- 47:30There's no way Nike can't create jerseys.
- 47:33They do it for every other league.
- 47:38You tell me Fanatics is making football jerseys, They're making
- 47:42NFL jerseys for Nike. I doubt it, but they don't have
- 47:47sponsorship patches on there. We do.
- 47:56Kind of makes sense, right? It's my guessing.
- 48:03It's it's my guess. I mean you're my guess is as
- 48:06good as yours and vice versa. There's I I just don't.
- 48:09I don't know man it this is such I said it on the last episode,
- 48:13how this relationship wasn't severed months ago.
- 48:16Yeah. Is beyond me and I know, I know
- 48:19we we rag on the on on the front offices of Major League Baseball
- 48:25and Manfred and and all that. But like I understand our
- 48:30expectations for them are low but come on like have some sort
- 48:36of self respect for not only yourselves but the league that
- 48:40you run and go no no more this this is.
- 48:45This is embarrassing, Commissioners.
- 48:49I mean the. State of the Union's the same
- 48:51way presidents do. It's it's the laughingstock of
- 48:57sports right now. Like the fact that we can't even
- 48:59get our jersey thing figured out.
- 49:01And I'm seeing a lot. You want you want to talk about
- 49:03tinfoil hat situations. I'm seeing a lot of commentary
- 49:07talking about how I don't remember the order of it, but it
- 49:10was basically like the what was it?
- 49:16What's isn't there? Like, oh, that.
- 49:18Apparently like the Shohei thing was supposed to be a cover up
- 49:22for the Fanatics jerseys, and then apparently this TJ epidemic
- 49:26was supposed to be a cover up for the Shohei thing and just
- 49:29this long line of of conspiracies and cover ups for
- 49:34Major League Baseball. But ultimately, regardless if
- 49:37you believe any of that or not, the end, at the end of the day,
- 49:41none of that is good for baseball.
- 49:43I understand the the, the Press of it and the attention that
- 49:46comes with it, I guess is good for baseball.
- 49:48But none of those things are good.
- 49:51Like. Those are inherently bad things,
- 49:55and you're just drawing that much more negative attention to
- 49:58yourself and the league. It's embarrassing, man.
- 50:03Like this is an absolute joke. Major League Baseball franchises
- 50:07don't have uniforms to wear, and the teams that do have the
- 50:11uniforms to wear, they're garbage.
- 50:14This is like JV high school type stuff, man.
- 50:17It's. Unbelievable.
- 50:18People were literally commenting on these posts about the
- 50:20Fanatics issues I was, I was posting about.
- 50:22They're like, yeah, I had the same problem for MY12U baseball
- 50:27team. It's like, how are they, how are
- 50:31these things not in stock? What does that even mean?
- 50:33You make the jerseys, my brother.
- 50:36I don't get that. I really don't get that.
- 50:40Oh. Man.
- 50:45Oh, all right. Enough of that.
- 50:50They purchased tops a couple years ago, didn't they?
- 50:52Oh my, dude, I don't even want to open that can of worms.
- 50:56Those people, you know, baseball card collectors.
- 50:58They are serious and they hate their lives right now.
- 51:02Dude, Fanatics has ruined the hobby.
- 51:06Ruined it. What a train wreck.
- 51:13Michael Rubin needs to just take this money that he's just
- 51:18gouging and just go retire and hand the Reigns Fanatics over to
- 51:25somebody else. And then Fanatics needs to hand
- 51:27the reigns over collectively to somebody else for Major League
- 51:30Baseball 'cause they also have the NHL too.
- 51:33I don't know if you saw that that's coming next.
- 51:34Year oh boy. And NHL fans are bracing
- 51:37themselves for that, and they're they're getting a little taste
- 51:40of of what's coming their way right now with baseball.
- 51:43Talk about a fan base that loves their jerseys.
- 51:47Hockey fans love their jerseys. You're telling me, man, that
- 51:51they're in for a rude awakening. One one other thing here, this
- 51:56is where we originally were going to go after the after our
- 52:01last topic, I was going to bring up The City Connects for the
- 52:04Phillies. Those released, I believe,
- 52:07Friday, the end of last week. Some at some point.
- 52:11Not sure if you saw, but they were in fact the jerseys that
- 52:14were leaked leaks last year I guess.
- 52:20Was it? Was it that?
- 52:20Long ago the offseason I I I would venture to say but you
- 52:28know I don't I don't really know how I feel about them.
- 52:31I I do have to say, and I'll. I'll give him credit.
- 52:37Liam. Liam Fennessy on Twitter he says
- 52:41we have to stop trying to make dark baseball pants happen.
- 52:44It will never work. Thank you.
- 52:46Couldn't agree more. It's just it's not a good look.
- 52:50It's. I don't know why we're trying to
- 52:52force this on baseball. It's not it's just not our thing
- 52:58and that's not an old man take. It's just how can you look at
- 53:02home whites, at least for pants, and be like, yeah, no, those
- 53:07that's aren't it, Let's go, let's go.
- 53:09Black. No, There's one one single
- 53:13uniform that works with black pants in San Diego State.
- 53:19That's it. That's it.
- 53:21It's the only one that's allowed to do.
- 53:23It. And even then, I'm like, I'm not
- 53:26a fan. Personally, I've never liked
- 53:28dark pants. I've never been OK with the
- 53:31look. I I specifically these Philly
- 53:35jerseys props on the video. I think the Phillies dropped a
- 53:41pretty cool video like bringing in.
- 53:43That was excellent. You know people from from Philly
- 53:46and and the whole like you know the blue collar thing it's great
- 53:52and like I I think you and I have have bought into like I
- 53:58know people talk a lot of noise against Philly fans but like
- 54:01overall I don't know if there's a better sports city out there.
- 54:05I really I can't think of any other sports city who is the
- 54:09just that bought in and that connected.
- 54:17I just don't like the look. I don't get the look.
- 54:20I don't I don't understand the the this.
- 54:25It seems like the the it's just a stretch.
- 54:28Every jersey that comes out, it's such a stretch.
- 54:33They it connect dots that don't. Yeah, it's reverse.
- 54:36Engineer. Like, they'll just make it and
- 54:38then they'll they'll walk it back and like, all right, how
- 54:40can, like, how can we make sense of this part of the jersey?
- 54:44So for those wondering, I'm looking at the infographic at
- 54:48the Philly's release, the pictures of Bryson Stott.
- 54:53You can pull it up if you're interested.
- 54:55It says there's a line that's pointing to the collar.
- 54:57It says a collar that's notice or notably blue in reference to
- 55:02their blue blue collar nature as a city.
- 55:07It says the script on the jersey is.
- 55:11That's really tiny text. I I should zoom in, but I can't.
- 55:17There we go 125% Google Docs. It says our script is
- 55:21reminiscent of our countries founding documents that features
- 55:25a pattern symbolizing the crack of the Liberty Bell.
- 55:28I mean, I'm, I'm cool with that. I I do.
- 55:30I will say I like the script. It's it's really just the pants.
- 55:34The colors say colors a city can rally behind.
- 55:37Blue and yellow are based on our city's flag, unchanged since its
- 55:41inception. The light to dark shit.
- 55:42This was the I can understand the blue and yellow.
- 55:45This was the part that made no sense to me, says the Light to
- 55:48Dark Shift celebrates our spirit of revolution.
- 55:51A city unafraid to rise up and fight.
- 55:53What does that even mean? Come up.
- 55:57A city unafraid to rise up and fight.
- 56:00So we're gonna give you black pants.
- 56:02OK, that that makes sense, I guess.
- 56:05Sure. Well, we'll just roll with that.
- 56:07And then they got the sleeve patch.
- 56:08It says City of Brotherly Love with the iconic Liberty Bell, a
- 56:13nod to the notable love sculpture sculpture located in
- 56:17the heart of our city. Not OK, so not the worst stretch
- 56:23necessarily to to make sense of things.
- 56:26I mean, I like the nods that they're given to various
- 56:30elements and aspects of the city.
- 56:32I love the hat that I think the hat's great.
- 56:34You like the bell looks. I like that I'm OK with it.
- 56:38I I knew the first time I saw that that font.
- 56:41I was like, I I I get what they're going for there.
- 56:43So I I'm cool with it. It's it.
- 56:45It's really just the gradients. We got to stop with these like
- 56:48Photoshop gradients like just give me solid colors.
- 56:52I know. Like, ditch the ditch the black
- 56:56pants, ditch the gradients and just go solid colors.
- 57:00I don't think it's like a font. I don't like it.
- 57:05I'm OK with it. I.
- 57:06I don't hate the colors. I can vibe with it.
- 57:09I like the. I like the hat logo.
- 57:10I don't like the font. I don't understand how that's
- 57:13symbolic of the the crack in the Liberty Bell.
- 57:17Big fan of the hat. All in all though, another city
- 57:20Connect in the books. I'm not quite sure who's up
- 57:23next, but I we have a few more teams left to go.
- 57:25But ultimately it may not matter because I absolutely.
- 57:32Love I I don't think the Yankees are gonna do one, but I love it.
- 57:37I don't think they are. They're like them in Oakland,
- 57:39right? People like trying to ask about
- 57:40this. It's like reporters are like
- 57:43asking questions, or they're just like, not at commenting on
- 57:46them. And like, Nike's trying to reach
- 57:49out to the Yankees being like, hey, like, can we get something
- 57:51going? They're just not responding
- 57:53sick. I'd give I'd give behind that.
- 57:56But yeah, like I said we, I think we talked about it that
- 57:58the A schedule wise the Yankees and the A's are the only ones
- 58:02that are not with A they they're without a date A's for obvious
- 58:05reasons. But I think the I think you're
- 58:07right. I think Yankees are like yeah,
- 58:08no, we're good. And I gotta say good for the
- 58:11Yankees, man. Good for the Yankees.
- 58:13Well, all right. Closed in a while.
- 58:16Since I've seen a good one, that's all that's I don't mean
- 58:18to be a hater like I no, I understand.
- 58:21I just, yeah, I don't like the dark pants.
- 58:23And it's been a while since I've seen one.
- 58:25I've I've really, there are a few that I really did like.
- 58:28I like the Marlins one. I like the Nationals one.
- 58:32I just most of these I just don't understand.
- 58:35And it's like a it's like you said like.
- 58:38It's like make the Red Sox ones. I don't.
- 58:43I don't like them. But I I that one connecting dots
- 58:48makes the most sense for me with the Boston Marathon like that
- 58:52and just like the tragedy that happened and like the Patriots
- 58:56Day thing, all tying in like that makes a lot of sense.
- 58:59I don't personally would I like if I was a Red Sox fan I don't
- 59:02think I would be into the the yellow.
- 59:04But that one connects dots more than any jersey.
- 59:09I'm. So bought in on the yellow, I
- 59:11love it. But I just, yeah, there's a
- 59:14there's only a few where I like. I actually like the design and
- 59:17like I think it's cool and it looks good on on the field.
- 59:23I just dark pants, aren't it? Yeah, like you're saying don't
- 59:26want to sound like a hater. The I I'm cool with the concept
- 59:29and I remember like years ago you made the point of like we
- 59:32play 162 of these things. It's OK to mix in like a fun
- 59:37jersey from time to time like baseball was so due for that.
- 59:40We've got our alternates and all that.
- 59:42But we're we were due for the next stage of what that is and I
- 59:46think the intention was good it's a it's a great idea it's
- 59:51not just like another alternate but it's like OK how can we
- 59:53connect the city. But it I think our issue is that
- 59:56some of these just aren't aren't good like they're they're very
- 1:00:00just lazy and last minute put together it looks like.
- 1:00:06I don't know. But anyway, not to continue on
- 1:00:09and on about that, but closing the book as I was saying, just
- 1:00:13got a few items here to run through Stephen Strasburg
- 1:00:16officially. Has announced his retirement.
- 1:00:20Just a. Weird, I thought he already.
- 1:00:23Did slightly sad ending to this whole story.
- 1:00:27If you recall the National, I think there was plans to do some
- 1:00:33sort of ceremony. I don't know if ceremony's the
- 1:00:38right word, but a ceremonious exit I guess you could say.
- 1:00:44But things started started boiling up a little bit in terms
- 1:00:51of the financials of how his contract was going to play out
- 1:00:54and it just, it got ugly real quick.
- 1:00:58But then I guess they've, they've got, Yeah, I mean.
- 1:01:01I'd be a little butthurt if that was the Nationals too.
- 1:01:04Yeah, but like, I mean. There's only so many things you
- 1:01:07can control, but. Yeah, and and like we talked
- 1:01:10about when he when their report initially came out, what like
- 1:01:14last fall that said he was going to retire or whenever that was.
- 1:01:17The whole point was that that contract was just a a massive
- 1:01:22check to say thank you for for what he did for that World
- 1:01:27Series. It wasn't about what he was
- 1:01:29going to provide in future seasons.
- 1:01:31We knew that the Nationals knew that.
- 1:01:33But now they're Now it seems like they were playing dumb this
- 1:01:36whole offseason, but anyway, it. Was like it was like 39 innings
- 1:01:40or something like that after that contract.
- 1:01:45Yeah, Something. I don't have the number, but it
- 1:01:47was, it was very, very minimal. But yeah, they finally ironed
- 1:01:54that out. It sounds like the Nationals.
- 1:01:57It sounds like his contract will be paid out in in some way,
- 1:02:01shape or form. Doesn't sound like there's been
- 1:02:04any alterations made to the numbers, so sounds like he's
- 1:02:09gonna get what he's owed. Nolan.
- 1:02:13I think the. There are life, like, not life
- 1:02:16insurance policies, but there are insurance policies that
- 1:02:19teams take out on certain players and contracts.
- 1:02:22I believe, I think that like like they still owe him, but I I
- 1:02:26would assume that they're probably gonna get some money
- 1:02:28back. I don't know how that looks, but
- 1:02:30yeah, whatever. It's possible.
- 1:02:33I don't. I don't know.
- 1:02:34Yeah, I don't know the specifics of whether or not they did that
- 1:02:37and if they did, what that looks like for their return.
- 1:02:41But All in all, a farewell to Stephen Strasberg.
- 1:02:45I'm glad to see it finally came to a close.
- 1:02:49Not his, not his career, but like just this whole issue,
- 1:02:52'cause it, it was getting to be a little, little sad.
- 1:02:55I'm like, all right, like, let's, let's let this guy.
- 1:02:57He clearly hates the fact that he can't throw anymore.
- 1:03:03And he even said that he's like in in his in his retirement
- 1:03:07remarks, he was basically like, yeah, injuries do not allow me
- 1:03:10to throw at a Major League level anymore.
- 1:03:13And that's that's just sad. So I'm glad he was able to get
- 1:03:17out of here with like a little bit of dignity left.
- 1:03:20No thanks to the Nationals. Nolan, I can never say it.
- 1:03:24Is it Shanwell? I I think I called him Nolan
- 1:03:29Chenule last episode and I heard on the Angels broadcast today
- 1:03:33that was not right. I think it was Nolan Shanwell is
- 1:03:35what I heard. I've heard Shanuel like Shanuel.
- 1:03:39Shanuel I yeah, I think that's what it is.
- 1:03:42I think you're right 'cause I said Shanwell and I'm like,
- 1:03:44that's not right either. That's not what I heard.
- 1:03:47I think you're right. I think it's Nolan Shanuel.
- 1:03:49His streak, his on base streak, which I believe reached 36
- 1:03:55games, was cut short. Actually, the Major League
- 1:04:00Baseball came out, came out and announced that they were going
- 1:04:04to make a change to, I believe, the 30th game of the streak when
- 1:04:10they were when the Angels were in Baltimore and they had to
- 1:04:13reverse a call to an error. It's just a weird, weird story.
- 1:04:19That's weird. We go back a week.
- 1:04:21You go back like checking through official scoring like,
- 1:04:27Nah, I'm gonna change that one to a boot.
- 1:04:31That's weird. I think it was the Angels
- 1:04:35broadcast. I I should have loaded the clip
- 1:04:37up, but they went in on it. Apparently they were like, you
- 1:04:40know, you've got a great story with the young kid with
- 1:04:44seemingly a bright future and you're just a a good story for
- 1:04:48him. And you're gonna rip the rug out
- 1:04:50from underneath him like this and yadda, yadda yadda.
- 1:04:53And I'm like this just seems very weird to be fair.
- 1:04:55The angels just seem like a bitter.
- 1:04:58Everything's bitter over there. Yeah, I mean, I've got.
- 1:05:01Something that I want to tell you about.
- 1:05:03Keep going though. Keep going.
- 1:05:05I'm. Trying to remember what was I
- 1:05:07talking about? Is it something that I can put a
- 1:05:08pin in so you can say what you got to say?
- 1:05:10The commentators, broadcasters. Oh, real quick.
- 1:05:15I'll just finish my thought on the on the call that got
- 1:05:18reversed just to be transparent here look.
- 1:05:23Oh, you watched the actual play? I did.
- 1:05:25Yeah, I did. People said that it was
- 1:05:31blatantly a hit, and I'm gonna go ahead and disagree.
- 1:05:36I don't think it was. I don't think it was as blatant
- 1:05:39of a hit as people are making it out to be.
- 1:05:41How can I search? This what do you think the best
- 1:05:46way to? Look it up, I'll I'll find it
- 1:05:48for you. But anyway, people are like,
- 1:05:52yeah, it was a it was clear as day.
- 1:05:55It was a hit. I'm like no, if you go back and
- 1:05:57look at the, if you go back and look at the play it's it's not I
- 1:06:06I want you to I want you to try mine on this.
- 1:06:08Text it to me. Yeah, I'll send you the link.
- 1:06:14It's like you as a Major League player.
- 1:06:17It's a tough play for sure. Without a doubt.
- 1:06:20But like you gotta, you gotta make that play.
- 1:06:24And the fact that he didn't make the play led to him getting on
- 1:06:27base, obviously. But if he makes the catch, like
- 1:06:30if he as the pitcher, if you feel that if you've received
- 1:06:33that throw from the first base and you step on 1st, he's out.
- 1:06:37It wasn't going to be a bang. Well, it was going to be a close
- 1:06:40play, but it wasn't necessarily going to be a bang, bang play.
- 1:06:42Like if he, if he receives it, steps on the bag the out the the
- 1:06:46play's over he's out. I don't know if you're gonna
- 1:06:50agree disagree but I like I I can see the merit behind the
- 1:06:55decision. I think it's stupid.
- 1:06:57They went a They went back a week.
- 1:07:01I do agree. I think that part sucks.
- 1:07:04Which side note, as you're looking over that play, the
- 1:07:07scoring for Major League Baseball has gotten so
- 1:07:11incredibly garbage. The, I call it last year, like
- 1:07:19routine plays are getting botched and they're like, yeah,
- 1:07:23no, that's a single, let's base it.
- 1:07:25Did they say? It's one for the boys back home.
- 1:07:27It's like a throwing error on Mount Castle.
- 1:07:34I think it was ruled as a throwing error, yeah.
- 1:07:37Yeah. I don't know who's.
- 1:07:39Credited to, But I mean, like, technically, yeah, you know what
- 1:07:44I mean. Right.
- 1:07:45I mean, like I would say, receives the ball, steps on the
- 1:07:48bag, it's over. He's.
- 1:07:48Right, right. Yeah, it's tough.
- 1:07:54I think the diving play aspect to it makes things challenging
- 1:07:58because like, you see that as like a shortstop.
- 1:08:01You make a diving play in the hole or something like that and
- 1:08:02you get up and throw it. Even if and you can tell when
- 1:08:07you watch. Like a clip.
- 1:08:09You know, like a dig. Like a first baseman doesn't get
- 1:08:11the scoop or whatever. It's like if it's Bang Bang.
- 1:08:14It's hard to say. I'm really on the fence to be
- 1:08:17honest. And if you're looking at the
- 1:08:19clip, Bauman on the mound, he like, hesitates because he
- 1:08:21didn't think he was gonna get, he didn't think Mount Castle was
- 1:08:24gonna get to the ball, which I think only further that.
- 1:08:26Probably made it worse, yeah. Yeah it led to the more Bang
- 1:08:31Bang element of it but Oh no not.
- 1:08:35Sorry not to get way off track there with the the NIT picky,
- 1:08:38but I at the end of the day I think it's stupid they went back
- 1:08:41a week and made that change, but did you get to the thing you
- 1:08:47said you were gonna get to? No.
- 1:08:49So just a quick note, I I think it's always cool to hear from
- 1:08:53like inside the perspective of a certain fan base.
- 1:08:58We have family friends that live in in California who go to
- 1:09:02Angels games often. Just the bitterness of it is
- 1:09:08crazy. Apparently they're hype video
- 1:09:10before game starts. Otani's still in the hype video.
- 1:09:16What? Yeah, like they they put it up
- 1:09:18on the big screen like, you know like before first pitch kind of
- 1:09:20thing. Sure.
- 1:09:21Yeah, Otani's still in it and like apparently the whole crowd
- 1:09:26boos. Like apparently the, like,
- 1:09:31nobody rocks Otani stuff anymore.
- 1:09:35The the Asian culture is like completely dissolved.
- 1:09:38Like they're You barely see any type of Asian culture at games
- 1:09:42anymore. Really strange.
- 1:09:44But the fact that Ohtani's still in the hype video is insane to
- 1:09:47me. That's weird.
- 1:09:49They had just gone. I talked to them yesterday and
- 1:09:52they were just at the game on Thursday.
- 1:09:53It was the sock series. It was the beginning of the sock
- 1:09:57series. Dude.
- 1:09:58OK, Yeah. Oh my God, that that
- 1:10:01organization. That's what are we doing?
- 1:10:05That's pretty embarrassing. Anthony Rendon Speaking of which
- 1:10:08got his first hit. Well, I I use the word hit very
- 1:10:12loosely. Oh boy.
- 1:10:13Wakes out an infield dribbler for his first of the season.
- 1:10:17If that's not poetic, I don't know.
- 1:10:18What it is like? It's incredible.
- 1:10:20Just a mess. I did see a tweet though I I had
- 1:10:24completely forgot. But somebody had said Red Sox
- 1:10:27love ending these Hitler streaks because if you recall Chris
- 1:10:30Davis and his Hitler streak at Fenway.
- 1:10:33I don't I don't know what that's all about but Sox just love
- 1:10:37these streaks. You know what did I was that it
- 1:10:42on the on the on the Angel stuff.
- 1:10:44Yeah, that was it. It's just, I thought it was just
- 1:10:46funny to hear like from somebody who'd just gone to a game, like,
- 1:10:49you know, Connie's doing the hype video.
- 1:10:51I'm like, bro, what are you doing?
- 1:10:55Side note, we were sitting there.
- 1:10:56I was sitting there watching the the, the last game of the Angels
- 1:10:59Red Sox series today and and Meredith was like, we need to
- 1:11:01get to a game out there. That'd be awesome.
- 1:11:03And I'm like, you know what that would be?
- 1:11:05AI found out, which I had heard before but had clearly
- 1:11:10forgotten. But I was reminded this weekend
- 1:11:12that that that park is the 4th oldest in baseball.
- 1:11:16That's weird. Can you believe that?
- 1:11:19That's weird. It does look like a cool
- 1:11:22ballpark. I would love to catch a game
- 1:11:25there. Yeah, we have to make a trip out
- 1:11:27there. Oh oh, pod trip out there at
- 1:11:30some .0. That'd be great.
- 1:11:31Gotta hit. I mean, might as well just hit
- 1:11:33Dodger Stadium in the same, I guess.
- 1:11:35Same trip. I don't think it's as close.
- 1:11:38As you think. Maybe we'll wait till after the
- 1:11:40Dodger renovations. So they're doing like big
- 1:11:44renovations soon that. 'D be nice.
- 1:11:49We'll probably still get stabbed, but at least we'll have
- 1:11:52nicer amenities around us when it happens, right, 'cause that's
- 1:11:55what's important. At least we'll get to sit in
- 1:11:57sand colored seats. Yeah, the beach.
- 1:12:01We get to hang out at the beach. That's so stupid.
- 1:12:04Wild Pirates opened the season for the first eight and two for
- 1:12:10the first time since 2018. Look, I I said what I said in
- 1:12:15the politics and predictions episode.
- 1:12:17Nobody wanted to get on board with me.
- 1:12:20But I said what I said and I'm sickened by it.
- 1:12:22So I just want to have that on record that the Pirates season
- 1:12:26is starting ride that train as long.
- 1:12:29As you can, pal. I don't know how long it'll
- 1:12:31last, but you stay on that high horse for as long as you can.
- 1:12:35You believe that? I will.
- 1:12:38On the flip side, Marlins won their first game today after
- 1:12:41starting O and 9:00. With a rain delay involved in
- 1:12:44the ninth, wasn't it? I think I saw that.
- 1:12:48In that in that game, I thought that was the Cubbies game.
- 1:12:51I thought it was theirs. I saw something on Twitter that
- 1:12:53was like they'd a rain delay in the 9th and like baseball gods
- 1:12:56just can't let the Marlins get a win or something.
- 1:12:59Like that. Oh I maybe they did.
- 1:13:00You're probably you're probably they they probably did I didn't
- 1:13:03catch that far but that's that's hilarious One in they're one in
- 1:13:07nine to start the. Brutal.
- 1:13:08And they did you see, they removed the skip Schumacher's
- 1:13:12option for next year or something like that?
- 1:13:14I did, yeah, I saw that. Was that recently?
- 1:13:17Did that news break like recently?
- 1:13:18Because this? I saw the article, but I didn't
- 1:13:21know that they had made that announcement.
- 1:13:22Like just was it the other day, I guess.
- 1:13:25I don't I didn't fully read that article, but.
- 1:13:30I did see that because the article I read was that the
- 1:13:32Marlins will likely be searching for a new option at Manager for
- 1:13:362025 or something. I'm like that didn't.
- 1:13:38He just win Manager of the Year last year.
- 1:13:40Yes, and then it said the The article finished by saying that
- 1:13:44Skip Schumacher and Alex Cora should Alex Cora hit manager,
- 1:13:48free agency will be the two like hottest commodities.
- 1:13:52That's crazy. This is Mike Shield all over
- 1:13:54again. Win Manager of the Year.
- 1:13:58Year later, you're gone. I don't get that.
- 1:14:01Stupid, stupid Juan Soto. Just a little note here.
- 1:14:08I know you and I talked about it a little bit before we hopped
- 1:14:10on, but my, my, April, I mean, I could not have been more dead on
- 1:14:16with this. I said a dip was coming and
- 1:14:19people, people in the in the comments were like, well, yeah,
- 1:14:22of course she's not going to maintain like a 700 batting
- 1:14:25average, I said. That's not what I'm talking
- 1:14:26about. But you'll you it'll it'll be
- 1:14:29tangible. You'll be able to feel the dip
- 1:14:31and sure enough the last two series between the D back series
- 1:14:36which you were there for a game and Toronto he went one for 16.
- 1:14:43So when I was talking about a dip that's that's kind of what
- 1:14:46I'm talking about. Like he he plummets in April but
- 1:14:49he'll but what have I said though I said he'll be back.
- 1:14:52You don't need to panic, as Yankee fans, you you just need
- 1:14:56to know that this is part of his ammo.
- 1:14:58Like this is just what he does. I personally am still in this
- 1:15:01weird phase of like it still feels surreal that he's wearing
- 1:15:04the Yu. I'm still in the honeymoon
- 1:15:07phase, so I'm chilling. You can go one for 30.
- 1:15:13I don't care well. I'll be careful what you wish.
- 1:15:15For I know who he is. I know what he's gonna do.
- 1:15:18Don't stress. Stay strong.
- 1:15:22May Soto is what you need to hold out hope for.
- 1:15:25Yep, just wait. Just stand by.
- 1:15:30There's no there's no holding out hope.
- 1:15:32I think for Alec Manoa his his his recent rehab start, one and
- 1:15:382/3 innings. I think it was today.
- 1:15:40Actually one and 2/3 innings, Five hits, six runs or no 6
- 1:15:44earned runs, seven runs, four walks.
- 1:15:48And his ERA now has jumped ever so slightly to a rosy 32.4.
- 1:15:58Can you read off the first line again of what level he was
- 1:16:02pitching in? I believe it was single A.
- 1:16:06Is that what I read? Yeah.
- 1:16:08Yep. Not good.
- 1:16:09Yep. Yep.
- 1:16:09Yep. Not good.
- 1:16:11I had. I told you I had a question I
- 1:16:13wanted to ask you. Yep.
- 1:16:16Which collapse will go down as a worse collapse?
- 1:16:22Alec Minova and Matt Harvey. Because we're there, I think.
- 1:16:29Alec Minova and I cause the mouth.
- 1:16:34I think it's because of his mouth.
- 1:16:35Yeah. And I was, I was literally just
- 1:16:37about to say you have to take the like take take the numbers
- 1:16:41out of it, take the the outcomes out of it.
- 1:16:43You just for me at least. I'm not saying everybody else
- 1:16:46has to, but I'm gonna look at this from the point of view of
- 1:16:49like who the players were. And Matt Harvey, I think we can
- 1:16:54all agree, was a guy that wanted to pitch until his arm fell off
- 1:16:58and he literally like he he he literally did he he made a go at
- 1:17:01it with the OS there at the end and you know he just wanted to
- 1:17:07be out there and to be able to succeed, but it just it just
- 1:17:09wasn't working. But for Alec Manoa, he just he
- 1:17:12just he ran his mouth too much. And you can only really do that
- 1:17:18if you can back it up, 'cause if you can't then you just look
- 1:17:21like an idiot. And not only as does he look
- 1:17:24like an idiot, he's He's getting wrecked at the lowest levels of,
- 1:17:34like, minor League Baseball. What are like 17 year olds that
- 1:17:38just signed? I mean, what are we doing?
- 1:17:42It's embarrassing. These kids aren't even eligible
- 1:17:45for the draft, and you're getting wrecked.
- 1:17:50Poor guy. Not.
- 1:17:52Spare me the rehab. Spare me the rehab element,
- 1:17:55guys. Guys rehab all the time and they
- 1:17:59don't. They don't have eras of 30 N of
- 1:18:0232. And stop calling it rehab.
- 1:18:04Stop calling it rehab. That's this is not rehab.
- 1:18:06This is no rehab is is first needing an injury for a rehab to
- 1:18:14happen. This is just the ultimate.
- 1:18:16This is yips, this is yips on steroids.
- 1:18:21And I'm here for it. I'm eating it up.
- 1:18:25He's he's eating it up too. This is my favorite.
- 1:18:27Part of the movie so far, hey? Wow.
- 1:18:31Well played. We're we're milking that that
- 1:18:34line for all, for all it's worth.
- 1:18:36We. Sure.
- 1:18:37All right. Well, we already got to the
- 1:18:39Fanatics conversation, so that about wraps it up for what I had
- 1:18:44in closing the book. I I mentioned to you before we
- 1:18:46got on my closing, the book is getting longer and longer.
- 1:18:49It it used to be a quick segment at the end, but they're getting
- 1:18:52longer and longer. So we'll see, we'll see what
- 1:18:56happens there. But I I meant to say before we
- 1:18:59wrap things up here now that you're like sort of back at
- 1:19:03least for a little while and then you'll be back for good
- 1:19:06once you get back from the honeymoon.
- 1:19:09We need to, we need to start incorporating some segments for
- 1:19:15the year. So just be thinking about that
- 1:19:20once we've got a little bit more routine, a little more rhythm
- 1:19:22going. Something cooked up?
- 1:19:25We'll have that on deck for everybody.
- 1:19:27It's been been a little tricky obviously with the combining the
- 1:19:30start of the season with the fact that Nate's been just super
- 1:19:32busy. But for for those of you
- 1:19:35listening, we obviously appreciate you guys tuning in.
- 1:19:38We're glad you're here with us, but one snake gets back from his
- 1:19:41his honeymoon. We'll be.
- 1:19:44I'll be nice and tan and then we roll.
- 1:19:46All systems go for the for the remainder of the year.
- 1:19:49So we've got that to look forward to.
- 1:19:52But unless you got anything else subscribe to the YouTube as
- 1:19:56always we're moving right along cranking out the content on
- 1:19:59there. So be sure to check that out.
- 1:20:01Next time you're over at Grandma's house to fix the
- 1:20:04Wi-Fi, go ahead and just subscribe on her computer for
- 1:20:07YouTube real quick. You'll never know.
- 1:20:11Yeah. Love you guys.
- 1:20:13Thank you guys. Really.
- 1:20:14Honestly, thank you. For some of you listeners who
- 1:20:17had reached out and congratulated me, it means a
- 1:20:19lot. And bear with me.
- 1:20:23Give me, give me a month and and I'll be back to normal.
- 1:20:26So love you guys. Don't go chasing curveballs.
- 1:20:29Love you all and as always, looking forward to talking more
- 1:20:31baseball with you guys soon. Until next time, stay filthy.
