Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: To Kevin Gray from the UK. Good moning to you,
- 0:01Speaker 1: Kevin either Andrew Well fresh from the Greg wall Let's
- 0:06Speaker 1: take a look at my junk controversy Mastership UK. Here's
- 0:08Speaker 1: a new scandal, yep.
- 0:11Speaker 2: I'm afraid it does, plunging the show into absolute chaos
- 0:14Speaker 2: because the series has already been filmed with both Greg
- 0:17Speaker 2: Wallace but also John to Road Because today Juron Troad
- 0:20Speaker 2: has been sacked as the Master Chef presenter. It was
- 0:24Speaker 2: an allegation against him in what it was said that
- 0:27Speaker 2: he had used an extremely offensive racist term. Now this
- 0:31Speaker 2: allegation was upheld, although John to Road, the TV chefer,
- 0:35Speaker 2: said he had no recollection of the incident and he
- 0:37Speaker 2: said I do not believe that it happened. However, the
- 0:41Speaker 2: show's production company says it and the BBC agreed that
- 0:45Speaker 2: his contract on the show will not be renewed. So yeah,
- 0:49Speaker 2: after these allegations, dozens of allegations against Greg Wallace, him
- 0:53Speaker 2: being sacked. Now John to Road apparently being offered to
- 0:57Speaker 2: told by bosses to resign he refused, has now been
- 1:00Speaker 2: sacked as well. This is the latest in a long
- 1:04Speaker 2: line of controversies at the BBC, including the Bob Villains
- 1:08Speaker 2: set at Glastonbury where they were leading Chance of Death
- 1:12Speaker 2: Death to the IDF and the BBC didn't pull the plug.
- 1:15Speaker 2: And also a Garza documentary that they didn't realize was
- 1:18Speaker 2: actually hosted by the son of somebody in Hammers. So
- 1:21Speaker 2: I'm afraid dark days at the BBC. They've got a
- 1:24Speaker 2: lot of patching up to do.
- 1:25Speaker 1: What are they going to do with the Master chif
- 1:27Speaker 1: UK TV series. It's all in the cairn. They've filmed
- 1:29Speaker 1: it with Deode and Wallace. Are they just not going
- 1:33Speaker 1: to show it? Is this a glorious waste of money?
- 1:36Speaker 2: Well, that's what some people are demanding. But on the
- 1:38Speaker 2: other hand, of course, you know a lot of those
- 1:40Speaker 2: amateur chefs that really worked hard to get there. Imagine
- 1:43Speaker 2: if you won it and then found ouctually that it
- 1:45Speaker 2: wasn't going to be aired, or there wasn't even going
- 1:47Speaker 2: to be mentioned that you'd won it. They's talk about
- 1:49Speaker 2: perhaps replacing them with voiceovers or but it's going to
- 1:53Speaker 2: be almost impossible to do that. If they show it,
- 1:56Speaker 2: people are going to be up in arms. If they
- 1:57Speaker 2: don't show it, people are going to be up in arms.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Either way. I advise them to make a decision and
- 2:02Speaker 2: make it quickly.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Now you remember the story of that tree, the sycamore
- 2:06Speaker 1: get tree. This is a tree that was in between
- 2:08Speaker 1: two hillicks and you could take a photograph and that
- 2:10Speaker 1: looked beautiful. Was in northeast England and a couple of
- 2:13Speaker 1: monters winn cut it down. What's happened to them?
- 2:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean they were described in court as taking
- 2:19Speaker 2: moronic action, and I think most people would agree. A
- 2:22Speaker 2: tree that was really a symbol of romance for so many,
- 2:25Speaker 2: was famous in Hollywood. If you've ever seen it, you'll
- 2:28Speaker 2: realize that. Of course it just looked stunning, and two
- 2:31Speaker 2: men set out one night in September and cut it down.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Why we still don't know, but morons, I think most
- 2:39Speaker 2: people would agree as a good adjective. One was age
- 2:41Speaker 2: thirty nine and the other thirty two, both from Cumbria
- 2:44Speaker 2: in the northwest of England, convicted of criminal damage after
- 2:47Speaker 2: filming themselves using a chainsaw to illegally fell the landmark
- 2:51Speaker 2: tree right on Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland, causing immense damage.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Now today they have been jailed for four years and
- 2:59Speaker 2: three months in what the judge thought was probably just
- 3:03Speaker 2: sheer bravado the judge rejecting a claim of drunken stupidity
- 3:08Speaker 2: and saying it was done for some sort of a thrill.
- 3:11Speaker 1: What a thrill exactly? And I guess when they go
- 3:14Speaker 1: to prison they can be put on the garden detail
- 3:17Speaker 1: for four years.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Not very good.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and I thank you Gavin Gray from the UK.
