- 0:35Speaker 4: Right, Welcome back again that number three of O t
- 0:38Speaker 4: B here on this Tuesday morning. Of course, Tuesday Show
- 0:41Speaker 4: is brought to you by Community Still Community steel co
- 0:44Speaker 4: dot com is the website you always know. Nine am
- 0:49Speaker 4: on a Tuesday morning, we catch up with our guy
- 0:51Speaker 4: Nick Underhill, New Orleans dot Football.
- 0:54Speaker 5: Who joins us now, Nicholas, How you doing this week, sir?
- 0:57Speaker 6: Doing great? Doing great? How you guys doing?
- 1:00Speaker 3: Uh?
- 1:00Speaker 4: Doing great? Blessed, highly favored. I always appreciate at the time. Yesterday,
- 1:06Speaker 4: it's a big day in the NFL, so normally we
- 1:08Speaker 4: like we dive right into it.
- 1:09Speaker 5: Let's get into the Saints.
- 1:10Speaker 4: But I gotta ask you, man, I mean, you had
- 1:13Speaker 4: Miles Gary getting traded for Jared Vers. You had aj
- 1:16Speaker 4: Brown finally getting traded after we talked about it for months.
- 1:19Speaker 4: You had Obj go back to the Giant. You had
- 1:21Speaker 4: Russell Wilson retire. I mean, yesterday was about as loud
- 1:25Speaker 4: as the Monday in the all season could be in
- 1:27Speaker 4: the National Football League.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I was trying to wonder, like, is that the
- 1:31Speaker 2: biggest trade of like in NFL history.
- 1:35Speaker 6: It's got to be up there.
- 1:36Speaker 2: The only other one I could think of is Marshall
- 1:38Speaker 2: Falk maybe the Rams like in his prime, Like Stafford
- 1:43Speaker 2: obviously is up there, but he was a little you know,
- 1:45Speaker 2: I think that's franchise changing maybe a little.
- 1:48Speaker 7: I don't.
- 1:49Speaker 2: I guess it's probably comparable. Jalen Ramsey might be in there.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I mean these are all Rams though, which is crazy
- 1:54Speaker 2: that like trade you could argue like Brett Farv and
- 1:58Speaker 2: Steve Young, but like we didn't know they were Brett
- 2:00Speaker 2: Farvin Steve Young at the time.
- 2:04Speaker 6: What else is out there?
- 2:05Speaker 3: Man?
- 2:05Speaker 2: The Revas trade didn't really work out. The sauce trade
- 2:07Speaker 2: didn't really work out. So it's either him or Marshall Fulk.
- 2:10Speaker 2: I think this one of Marshall Fuck. I like the
- 2:13Speaker 2: trade for him.
- 2:13Speaker 6: You know.
- 2:14Speaker 2: The thing that I found most interesting is just kind
- 2:16Speaker 2: of like talking to people, you know, executives and people
- 2:19Speaker 2: in the league like after this trade, like their reaction they're.
- 2:22Speaker 6: All like Indie got more or gave up more.
- 2:25Speaker 2: For sauce, and I'm like, well, I don'd rather a burse,
- 2:28Speaker 2: I think than the trump pit. Like we know what
- 2:31Speaker 2: he is, he's got three years of team control, Rookie
- 2:36Speaker 2: of the year, two time pro bowler. I don't know
- 2:39Speaker 2: like it, Like you would probably trade a top fifteen
- 2:42Speaker 2: pick for him right now to get him on your team.
- 2:45Speaker 2: But the overvaluing of draft picks, I think is something
- 2:47Speaker 2: that can be like highly exploited just the way people
- 2:50Speaker 2: view him. You know, you see that family guy meme
- 2:53Speaker 2: all the time where it's like Peter Griffin's looking at
- 2:55Speaker 2: the box and he's like, well, anything could be in
- 2:56Speaker 2: the box. It could even be the boat, Like yeah,
- 2:59Speaker 2: but like the boat's right there. People people love these,
- 3:03Speaker 2: they love picks. Man picks get over valued and yeah
- 3:05Speaker 2: they're perfect, But like the fifty hit rate on him
- 3:08Speaker 2: in the first round, give me Jared Verse and you
- 3:10Speaker 2: know the second and the third and in the other
- 3:12Speaker 2: first Like I'd rather have that, but huge trade rams
- 3:15Speaker 2: are going for it. I think it makes some like
- 3:17Speaker 2: immediate favorites, you know, out.
- 3:19Speaker 6: Of the NFC.
- 3:20Speaker 8: Yeah, Nick, are you surprised that the Browns didn't try
- 3:26Speaker 8: to shop this little bit?
- 3:27Speaker 3: More?
- 3:27Speaker 8: Like the reports coming out is like they're the only
- 3:29Speaker 8: people the Rams are the only people that had meaningful conversation.
- 3:33Speaker 8: Now you're dealing with the best defensive player in the NFL, Maybee,
- 3:37Speaker 8: one of the best defensive players to ever play the game, like,
- 3:40Speaker 8: and they only talk to one trade partner.
- 3:44Speaker 2: I heard something about the Eagles too, which they're always
- 3:46Speaker 2: a team that's in there.
- 3:49Speaker 3: You know.
- 3:49Speaker 2: I think the problem with Miles Garrett is that he's
- 3:52Speaker 2: worth so much and you're never gonna get what he's worth. Like,
- 3:55Speaker 2: you know, there's only there's only gonna be so many
- 3:58Speaker 2: teams that are confident enough to give up what it
- 4:00Speaker 2: takes to get them. That takes a less Need or
- 4:02Speaker 2: a Housie Roseman or you know, like those guys. I
- 4:06Speaker 2: kind of know that, like, hey, if this goes wrong,
- 4:07Speaker 2: it's not going to cost me my job. I think
- 4:09Speaker 2: one of the biggest problems in the league is that,
- 4:10Speaker 2: you know, twenty five out of the thirty two gms
- 4:13Speaker 2: are operating scared and just trying to keep their job.
- 4:15Speaker 2: It's you got your wind, you really take a swing.
- 4:20Speaker 2: You can't really afford to think differently on anything. You
- 4:23Speaker 2: need everything to kind of be consensus. So when your
- 4:25Speaker 2: owners roll on social media. They haven't seen people calling
- 4:28Speaker 2: you an idiot and their friends aren't, you know, asking
- 4:30Speaker 2: if you're crazy.
- 4:32Speaker 6: So it takes like true confidence to make a move
- 4:34Speaker 6: like this.
- 4:34Speaker 2: But I think Miles Garrett is probably worth twice as
- 4:37Speaker 2: much as what they got, but like no one can
- 4:39Speaker 2: pay it, you know, it's like having this unbelievable asset
- 4:44Speaker 2: that Yeah, I mean, look, I think they did a
- 4:46Speaker 2: good job. I think they got pretty fair compensation for it.
- 4:51Speaker 2: It's just like you what do you give up for
- 4:53Speaker 2: a guy? Like it's twenty sacks, Like the package is crazy,
- 4:57Speaker 2: but it's it's also not enough, but like I don't
- 4:59Speaker 2: know what point I would have been, Like it's enough.
- 5:01Speaker 2: But the flip side of that is is the brown
- 5:04Speaker 2: Like he made no sense for the Browns. You know,
- 5:07Speaker 2: they're gonna win in the next four years, Like he's
- 5:09Speaker 2: probably got four more years of being in a lass rusher.
- 5:12Speaker 2: I think Verse makes a lot more sense for them.
- 5:15Speaker 2: The Browns are unfortunately probably gonna be forever building.
- 5:18Speaker 6: But yeah, I don't know.
- 5:20Speaker 2: I mean, you could chop them around, but like I
- 5:22Speaker 2: don't know how many teams would actually be willing to
- 5:24Speaker 2: get involved. So I think it came down to a
- 5:27Speaker 2: couple teams that felt like they were a player away,
- 5:29Speaker 2: and I think those are the only two teams that
- 5:31Speaker 2: have the gms that can take that swing. And if
- 5:34Speaker 2: it doesn't work, it's not gonna cost them everything. But
- 5:37Speaker 2: like it's definitely gonna work. I mean, that front is insane,
- 5:40Speaker 2: man like Byron Young twelve and a halfs Kobe Turtle.
- 5:44Speaker 2: It's crazy what they're gonna be able to do, and
- 5:47Speaker 2: it's just wild out like being a Rams fan. Unfortunately
- 5:50Speaker 2: like for them, there aren't enough of them, but like
- 5:52Speaker 2: it's got to be the funnest thing in the world
- 5:53Speaker 2: right now because they're always the team taking the big swing.
- 5:56Speaker 6: They're always the.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Team going all in. I don't know how many times
- 6:00Speaker 2: we've heard that, you know, all their futures cooked, and
- 6:03Speaker 2: then they just keep extending their future and extending their window.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I do think when Stafford leaves, it's kind of like
- 6:09Speaker 2: the same thing where it's like the whole thing blows
- 6:11Speaker 2: up and like but who cares, Like, you know, you
- 6:13Speaker 2: kind of go for it in the window.
- 6:15Speaker 6: But yeah, man, I like whether I boy.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Uh, I wouldn't want to I wouldn't want to play
- 6:21Speaker 2: them like that.
- 6:22Speaker 4: That's what that's a crazy, crazy dec about. Hey, you
- 6:24Speaker 4: know what, let's pour one out for the poor Cardinals.
- 6:27Speaker 4: I mean, just another person in that division that's going
- 6:31Speaker 4: to just continue to push them down. You had three
- 6:34Speaker 4: teams win twelve games last year. I think Seattle in
- 6:38Speaker 4: the all season was more worried about getting their guys back,
- 6:41Speaker 4: and so that's what they did. The Rams continue to
- 6:43Speaker 4: add if the forty nine ers can stay somewhat healthy.
- 6:47Speaker 5: I mean, that's a team that's beat up in.
- 6:48Speaker 4: One twelve games, The damn Cardinals have no chance in
- 6:52Speaker 4: hell to win more than five.
- 6:53Speaker 8: I think Jakoby might continue his holdout just because he
- 6:56Speaker 8: didn't want to play.
- 6:56Speaker 4: It's like, I don't want to play against those guys.
- 6:58Speaker 4: I'm just gonna hold out. Sure, I could be a starter.
- 7:01Speaker 4: I don't care, though, I'm not doing it.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Gary, do you think Kyler Murray's like taking a moment
- 7:05Speaker 2: to reflect on like his safety and like he's just
- 7:08Speaker 2: blessing God for leading them out of there?
- 7:10Speaker 5: Yes? And then look in the North.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Look, the North has got some dogs too, But my god,
- 7:15Speaker 4: the NFC West, it's crazy, it is. And all right,
- 7:18Speaker 4: so real quick, last thing before we get to the Saints.
- 7:21Speaker 4: AJ Brown finally goes to the Patriots. Now, the thing is,
- 7:24Speaker 4: we've talked about it for three months. Every team knew
- 7:27Speaker 4: he was available and on the market, and they couldn't
- 7:30Speaker 4: even get a first round pick for the next draft.
- 7:31Speaker 4: You had to go two years down the road and
- 7:33Speaker 4: then you got a fifth rounder next year. Are you
- 7:36Speaker 4: surprised with AJ Brown's market and that he couldn't get
- 7:39Speaker 4: at least a first round pick for the next.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Draft, Yeah, because I mean, look the way they kind
- 7:44Speaker 2: of value these picks too, is like a year removed,
- 7:46Speaker 2: Like you know, first is basically valued like a second
- 7:49Speaker 2: if it's a year later. Is how people kind of
- 7:51Speaker 2: look at these things. I don't get that one man. Like,
- 7:54Speaker 2: I like, obviously there's a ton of there's a ton
- 7:57Speaker 2: of receivers in the league. The receiver talent's crazy, and
- 7:59Speaker 2: I think it's only getting deeper and deeper and deeper,
- 8:01Speaker 2: just with you know, the way people are trained at
- 8:04Speaker 2: younger ages to seven on seven's all that stuff. But yeah,
- 8:09Speaker 2: he feels like a franchise changed to me. That feels
- 8:11Speaker 2: like stealing that. I don't understand how it went on
- 8:13Speaker 2: for this song and the whole world knew where he
- 8:15Speaker 2: was going for like damn there, it felt like, I
- 8:18Speaker 2: don't know, nine months and no one else stepped in
- 8:21Speaker 2: and said, hey, look, we'll give you a little bit
- 8:22Speaker 2: more for this guy that's very clearly at top fifteen
- 8:27Speaker 2: wide receiver.
- 8:28Speaker 6: I don't understand it.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Like I know there's problems and there's personality stuff, but
- 8:33Speaker 2: that's the one where I'm like like what the hell,
- 8:35Speaker 2: Like this couldn't have this couldn't have turned into a
- 8:37Speaker 2: little bit more. I like it for the Pats, though, man, like,
- 8:40Speaker 2: you know, go for it, pay him whatever. You don't
- 8:42Speaker 2: got to pay the quarterback. These are the type of
- 8:44Speaker 2: moves that I want to see the Saints making. You know,
- 8:47Speaker 2: if Tyler schuck Prus's theory this year is, you know,
- 8:50Speaker 2: just kind of go all in on it and as
- 8:52Speaker 2: long as you got cap space, I don't really care
- 8:53Speaker 2: about giving up the first You can fill that in
- 8:57Speaker 2: other ways. You know, you got the money to spend.
- 9:00Speaker 2: So yeah, I think the Sames need to be using
- 9:01Speaker 2: this as a blueprint, and I feel like they kind
- 9:03Speaker 2: of have, Like I feel like they kind of made
- 9:05Speaker 2: parallel moves with the Patriots City year ago. Now you
- 9:07Speaker 2: see if Shuck does it and then next season it
- 9:09Speaker 2: should be all in for him. But yeah, I like
- 9:11Speaker 2: it for him, man. I think that's a team that
- 9:14Speaker 2: is making the moves they need to make to get
- 9:15Speaker 2: back to.
- 9:16Speaker 6: Where they were.
- 9:17Speaker 8: All right, let's get down to some business. We're talking
- 9:19Speaker 8: talking about Tyler Shuck. You're talking about kind of the
- 9:22Speaker 8: Saints blueprint. Well, it all kind of starts right now
- 9:25Speaker 8: this time of the year with some OTAs. Tell us
- 9:28Speaker 8: what you've been seeing, give us a little update.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Yeah, just kind of the passing camp right now out there.
- 9:35Speaker 2: You know, Chris A. Lovey's getting a little bit of weight,
- 9:37Speaker 2: like you see it. I don't think it's gonna change
- 9:38Speaker 2: his game or anything, but like you know, on the
- 9:40Speaker 2: durability sense, I think it's a good thing to see that.
- 9:43Speaker 6: That was probably the thing that stood out the most.
- 9:46Speaker 2: A lot of speed man, Like it's evident it was
- 9:48Speaker 2: a slow team, like this has been a very slow
- 9:51Speaker 2: team for you know, going on like years man, even
- 9:54Speaker 2: the end of the end of the Breeze tenure, like
- 9:56Speaker 2: they didn't have a lot of team speed. And that
- 9:59Speaker 2: pops out right away, even the tight ends or you know,
- 10:01Speaker 2: Noah offense, like he can move like that's a guy
- 10:03Speaker 2: with some wheels.
- 10:04Speaker 6: You know.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Juwan Johnson moves well. Delt moves well. But it receiver
- 10:09Speaker 2: like everybody's kind of flying right now. Still not seeing
- 10:12Speaker 2: a lot from Jordan Tyson. They're posting pictures of OTAs.
- 10:16Speaker 2: He doesn't even have socks on. So I don't know,
- 10:18Speaker 2: it's you know, I don't know what's going on with
- 10:21Speaker 2: this ramping up, but uh, you know, maybe maybe it's today,
- 10:24Speaker 2: maybe it's tomorrow. Like he did a little bit of
- 10:26Speaker 2: like you know, rats hunt air or whatever and then
- 10:28Speaker 2: disappeared from from the last one. But at least he
- 10:31Speaker 2: was out there watching this time, so that's a good thing.
- 10:34Speaker 2: But I you know, I think, you know, I don't,
- 10:37Speaker 2: I don't know anything, but like just kind of it
- 10:41Speaker 2: tingles a little bit where you know, it kind of
- 10:43Speaker 2: gets those reporter senses going a little bit like huh,
- 10:45Speaker 2: like we'll go the first rookie practice and now you
- 10:48Speaker 2: start to ramp up in the second practice.
- 10:50Speaker 6: I don't know. That doesn't it doesn't make a ton
- 10:51Speaker 6: of sense to me.
- 10:52Speaker 2: But I think, you know, I don't think it's a
- 10:53Speaker 2: big deal whatever it is. I think I think he'll
- 10:55Speaker 2: be fine. But I really like the idea of Sanker
- 10:58Speaker 2: in the slot. That was like my big takeaway.
- 10:59Speaker 6: From the lot.
- 11:00Speaker 2: So T will be back out there tomorrow. But something
- 11:02Speaker 2: about seeing him there, like he's good going forward, Like
- 11:07Speaker 2: I think the stuff that made him good on special teams,
- 11:10Speaker 2: you know, it could make him good as a pass thrusher,
- 11:13Speaker 2: you know, being a being a gunner beating up block. Like,
- 11:15Speaker 2: I like him going forward, he moves well. Something about
- 11:18Speaker 2: that just made me feel better about the secondary as
- 11:20Speaker 2: a whole.
- 11:21Speaker 6: I like the idea of Blackman deep. I like him
- 11:24Speaker 6: in there.
- 11:24Speaker 2: I like not having to move Quincy Riley. And I
- 11:27Speaker 2: think maybe just like the durability idea of of Sanker
- 11:31Speaker 2: over blackmen makes it feel a little bit more anchored
- 11:34Speaker 2: down just because you know, Blackman's had all these injuries
- 11:36Speaker 2: and that might be an unfair assessment, but like Sanker
- 11:39Speaker 2: just feels like a more durable piece that you can
- 11:41Speaker 2: build around. We'll see how it goes from there, but
- 11:44Speaker 2: you know that was that was. I like the idea
- 11:46Speaker 2: of that, probably more than than black men are moving
- 11:48Speaker 2: Quincy Raley inside.
- 11:50Speaker 8: Can I ask a really important fault question here? Yeah,
- 11:53Speaker 8: said Jordan ties any more sucks is that like around
- 11:57Speaker 8: the facility or is that like, no sucks with this clear?
- 12:01Speaker 2: Yeah, Like I you know, you just see a picture
- 12:03Speaker 2: of a guy not wearing socks and it just kind
- 12:04Speaker 2: of makes it look like he's not doing work, you
- 12:06Speaker 2: know what.
- 12:06Speaker 8: I Like, no socks in the cleat.
- 12:10Speaker 2: He just had on. Yeah, he had on like the
- 12:12Speaker 2: the I don't know if he's wearing cleats or not,
- 12:14Speaker 2: but like I don't know, man, Like just something about
- 12:16Speaker 2: not wearing socks, like was like he oh he didn't
- 12:18Speaker 2: he didn't actually practice, say, but he might have, like,
- 12:20Speaker 2: but the visual on it was just like, ah, like,
- 12:23Speaker 2: this doesn't look this doesn't look like someone going after it.
- 12:27Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 12:27Speaker 8: No, with with cleats on, it's a move and it's
- 12:32Speaker 8: kind of an indictment. That's my biggest takeaway so far
- 12:34Speaker 8: from it.
- 12:40Speaker 6: They're getting younger, man, the players are getting.
- 12:42Speaker 5: Younger, and wikis thinking the same as.
- 12:48Speaker 4: All right, so we're obviously like everybody's gonna ask you
- 12:50Speaker 4: about Jordan Tyson when they bring up the rookie receivers,
- 12:53Speaker 4: I'm going to ask you about the other two guys
- 12:56Speaker 4: that you drafted, Bryce Lance in the fourth round, berry
- 12:59Speaker 4: On Brown in the same around. What have you seen
- 13:01Speaker 4: from them in OTAs.
- 13:03Speaker 6: Yeah, I'll tell you.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Man like Barry and Brown, like I think he runs
- 13:06Speaker 2: better routes than I expected him to run. You know,
- 13:08Speaker 2: he's one of them where it's like wait, who's that guy?
- 13:11Speaker 2: Like you know, you learn the number quickly because you
- 13:14Speaker 2: keep looking to see who it is, Like, yeah, he
- 13:16Speaker 2: moves well, I'm impressed by him. I think I need
- 13:19Speaker 2: to see Bryce Lanson like a more competitive period or
- 13:23Speaker 2: something like that. He hasn't really popped yet, Like you
- 13:25Speaker 2: see the speed. He looks like more of a strider
- 13:28Speaker 2: than just kind of you know, maybe it's just a build,
- 13:30Speaker 2: like he's long and lanky. I think I just need
- 13:33Speaker 2: more information on him. Barry and Brown, I think is
- 13:35Speaker 2: someone that that is built to stand out kind of
- 13:37Speaker 2: in the uncompetitive seven on seven Ross on aer type stuff.
- 13:41Speaker 2: And I think maybe Lance you got to see him
- 13:43Speaker 2: in these other spots. So I'm still kind of gathering
- 13:46Speaker 2: info on him. But yeah, I think I'm taking Barry
- 13:48Speaker 2: and Brown more more seriously as a receiver.
- 13:50Speaker 6: You know, when they drafted him those kind of like.
- 13:52Speaker 2: All right, special teams and and maybe he'll give you, you know,
- 13:54Speaker 2: a play a game or a couple of packages where
- 13:57Speaker 2: you get him out there and he's streaking down the field.
- 13:59Speaker 2: But I think maybe you can do a little bit
- 14:01Speaker 2: more than that, which makes it exciting. That group as
- 14:03Speaker 2: a whole is crazy, man, Like you take back, it
- 14:06Speaker 2: used to be that, didn't you know, if they didn't
- 14:08Speaker 2: have enough receivers, they they they were always trying to
- 14:11Speaker 2: build that room.
- 14:11Speaker 6: There wasn't enough guys.
- 14:12Speaker 2: And now like Kevin Austin Junior to me, is a
- 14:15Speaker 2: viable NFL receiver who's probably definitely not going to make
- 14:18Speaker 2: this team, and they're gonna be cutting real talent from
- 14:21Speaker 2: that position. We still haven't seen Trey Palmer. That's a
- 14:24Speaker 2: real NFL receiver with real production. Jaaln Polk like he
- 14:28Speaker 2: looks the part like that's an interesting guy too. So
- 14:31Speaker 2: that's going to be a fascinating kind of cutthroat competition,
- 14:34Speaker 2: I think all summer long agree.
- 14:35Speaker 8: All right, let's get to uh, let's get to kind
- 14:38Speaker 8: of the main storyline that's been talked about last coup days,
- 14:42Speaker 8: which is Alan Kamara tell us the latest on just
- 14:46Speaker 8: the contract, the planning, the kind of strange messaging about
- 14:51Speaker 8: kind of his role and or the unforeseen future of
- 14:54Speaker 8: what his role may be just kind of give us
- 14:56Speaker 8: your thoughts in any new updates you might have on
- 14:58Speaker 8: the Alba Kamara.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Yes, so, like, I don't think they've really had serious
- 15:03Speaker 2: conversations about anything to this point. Look, I know I
- 15:06Speaker 2: can say from one side, I know with complete certainty
- 15:10Speaker 2: that that Alvin wants to come back, and I think
- 15:11Speaker 2: Alvin would would be more than open to discussing his
- 15:16Speaker 2: compensation package and you know what it should be going forward.
- 15:19Speaker 2: I think I think his strong desire is to remain
- 15:22Speaker 2: here and to play.
- 15:23Speaker 6: Here and to finish his career here.
- 15:25Speaker 2: And I you know, I think I think if his
- 15:28Speaker 2: circumstance changed, you know, I think he'd probably evaluate his
- 15:31Speaker 2: options and probably be you know, open ton. I think
- 15:33Speaker 2: he fully plans while playing football this year. But I think,
- 15:37Speaker 2: you know, everything is I think he wants to be here.
- 15:40Speaker 2: I don't think that there's any any posturing with any
- 15:42Speaker 2: of that, and I think he'd be willing to work
- 15:44Speaker 2: on it. You know, I don't think the Saints have
- 15:46Speaker 2: made a decision on what they want to do with this,
- 15:48Speaker 2: which is, you know, it's weird. It's June's second now
- 15:51Speaker 2: that's kind of a benchmark. June first post post June
- 15:54Speaker 2: first you know, because they redid his contract before with
- 15:58Speaker 2: that fifty percent role, you know, all the complicated stuff.
- 16:01Speaker 2: They couldn't designate him as a post June first cut
- 16:04Speaker 2: beforehand if.
- 16:06Speaker 6: They let him go.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Now, you know, the way his contracts set up, he
- 16:11Speaker 2: has a three million dollars guaranteed. It would actually I
- 16:14Speaker 2: had thought they would have a three hundred and seventy
- 16:16Speaker 2: six thousand dollars cap savings, but it would actually go
- 16:19Speaker 2: up the way his book this year, like by like
- 16:21Speaker 2: a million bucks like that that's marginal, but they would
- 16:24Speaker 2: save eight point five million dollars against the next year's cap.
- 16:26Speaker 2: So I think that's that's where the the you know,
- 16:30Speaker 2: the thought process comes into.
- 16:31Speaker 6: Play, like what would they do to you know, is
- 16:35Speaker 6: he worth it?
- 16:35Speaker 1: Like?
- 16:35Speaker 2: Is he worth it a year from now? That's why
- 16:38Speaker 2: you try to get the pay cut. You negotiate that down,
- 16:40Speaker 2: lower that eight point five million, and see what it is.
- 16:42Speaker 2: But I don't think they they've they've had a serious
- 16:45Speaker 2: conversation about anything to this point, which is, you know,
- 16:48Speaker 2: it's wild to me, it's just a crazy way to
- 16:50Speaker 2: see how this has played out.
- 16:52Speaker 6: Look, I think I think Alvin's going to show up
- 16:54Speaker 6: for mini camp.
- 16:55Speaker 2: He's working out in Miami right now the way he
- 16:57Speaker 2: always does during they're in OTA's.
- 16:59Speaker 6: They'll be here for many camp. He'll be here for
- 17:01Speaker 6: training camp.
- 17:02Speaker 2: I would be shocked if he isn't because his contracts
- 17:04Speaker 2: right now is extremely favorable to him. I don't think
- 17:07Speaker 2: he's trying to hold out and get more for Like,
- 17:10Speaker 2: I think the best outcome for Alvin is that nobody
- 17:12Speaker 2: does anything with this contract and he makes eleven point
- 17:14Speaker 2: five million dollars and you know, he he fills his
- 17:17Speaker 2: role is you know, the you know, I think he's
- 17:19Speaker 2: kind of the place not where he's the sidekick to
- 17:22Speaker 2: h Hen So I think he's very willing to embrace that.
- 17:26Speaker 2: So yeah, I think Alvin wants to be here. I
- 17:27Speaker 2: think he badly wants to be here, and I think
- 17:29Speaker 2: he wants to figure it out. But you know, it's
- 17:31Speaker 2: just been a very weird stalled pattern, which you know,
- 17:34Speaker 2: kind of make sure you ears perk up this late
- 17:36Speaker 2: into the process, Like do you guys actually like want
- 17:39Speaker 2: him on the team. Like, I think that's the question
- 17:40Speaker 2: right now that needs to be answered. But there's really
- 17:43Speaker 2: no deadline on this. They could just let it play
- 17:45Speaker 2: out until right before that first week of the season,
- 17:48Speaker 2: when you know everything best for veteran players, wait to
- 17:50Speaker 2: see if there's an injury in training camp, see if
- 17:52Speaker 2: a trademarket emerges anywhere, and go from there.
- 17:56Speaker 6: But extremely strange situation.
- 17:59Speaker 2: I've never seen like a situation with the franchise legend
- 18:03Speaker 2: kind of play out with this one, with the uncertainty
- 18:05Speaker 2: and the silence and everything. Very very shrewd way to
- 18:09Speaker 2: go about handling this situation.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Hey, last one and Nick, we always appreciate the time.
- 18:14Speaker 4: Going to kind of put you on the spot a
- 18:15Speaker 4: little bit here September thirteenth, the team's about to take
- 18:19Speaker 4: the field in Detroit.
- 18:21Speaker 5: Is Alvin Kamara running out of the tunnel.
- 18:27Speaker 2: I'm gonna say they figure it out and he'll probably
- 18:30Speaker 2: end up getting cut later today because I just said that.
- 18:32Speaker 6: I mean, you know, like I just think I think.
- 18:34Speaker 2: The way I look at it, Look, look, I'm not
- 18:38Speaker 2: evaluating them as running back one, right, I mean like,
- 18:40Speaker 2: if you look at the fit though, is the sidekick
- 18:43Speaker 2: to HM if he's willing to figure out something with
- 18:47Speaker 2: his contract, I think it makes the most sense to
- 18:48Speaker 2: have him here, Like no one's expecting him to run
- 18:51Speaker 2: for nine hundred and fifty yards like he did two
- 18:53Speaker 2: years ago. But I think if you have him on
- 18:55Speaker 2: the team, he's running back to you're doing all this
- 18:57Speaker 2: stuff with the tight ends you can get into like
- 18:58Speaker 2: a twenty two personnel well, and you have a decision
- 19:01Speaker 2: to make, and if you keep the extra linebacker out there,
- 19:04Speaker 2: you just throw Alvin in the slot. You get him
- 19:06Speaker 2: on that matchup and he's going to smoke a linebacker
- 19:08Speaker 2: coming out of the slot. And if you know they
- 19:11Speaker 2: go smaller, you just you know, you run your inside
- 19:13Speaker 2: zone with eight chan and you have all your blockers
- 19:15Speaker 2: out there, and that's another way to do it. But
- 19:17Speaker 2: I think he's a guy that can still dictate matchups.
- 19:19Speaker 2: You have to do that, and he'll dictate matchups in
- 19:22Speaker 2: a way that Devin Neil or Rodrick Estimate won't because
- 19:24Speaker 2: of sure who he is and what he's.
- 19:26Speaker 6: Been able to do.
- 19:27Speaker 2: And I think if that's the vision of your offense,
- 19:30Speaker 2: like there's extreme value in that. Like last year, Alvin
- 19:33Speaker 2: nine percent of his snaps for out at receiver positions.
- 19:36Speaker 2: His rookie year it was thirty nine percent. Just get
- 19:38Speaker 2: back to like that twenty seventeen tight blueprint use him
- 19:41Speaker 2: as more as that move around chess piece. Obviously, we
- 19:43Speaker 2: know he's not the same player he was them, but
- 19:46Speaker 2: I think he gets your defensive coordinator decisions to make
- 19:50Speaker 2: when he walks into the huddle depending on who else
- 19:53Speaker 2: is out there with him, and I think there's value
- 19:55Speaker 2: in that. And I think he can still do all
- 19:56Speaker 2: that stuff like get him.
- 19:57Speaker 6: The ball in space.
- 19:58Speaker 2: People are still going to bounce off, he's still going
- 20:00Speaker 2: to break tackles, he's still going to make plays. And
- 20:02Speaker 2: I think if the goal is to be a good team, like,
- 20:04Speaker 2: I think there's a value here somewhere where you can
- 20:07Speaker 2: negotiate that number down and figure out something that works
- 20:10Speaker 2: so he can finish his career and everything plays out.
- 20:13Speaker 2: But look, I'm saying that from that perspective, but if
- 20:15Speaker 2: I look at it from like the business side of
- 20:17Speaker 2: this right now, everything on the business side says this
- 20:19Speaker 2: thing's heading to a cliff, and you know, not a
- 20:22Speaker 2: lot of it makes sense unless unless you think, hey,
- 20:25Speaker 2: look like they're ready to move on, and maybe they're
- 20:27Speaker 2: trying to find a way to move on.
- 20:28Speaker 6: So I think it's very much up in the air.
- 20:30Speaker 2: But I'm going to bet on football winning this one
- 20:34Speaker 2: all right there.
- 20:34Speaker 4: He is our guy, Nick Underhill, New Orleans Dot Football.
- 20:37Speaker 4: Nobody covers the Saints like our guy Nick. All the
- 20:40Speaker 4: latest and greatest. We certainly appreciate the time, brother. We'll
- 20:43Speaker 4: catch up again next week.
- 20:44Speaker 6: Yeah, take it easy, keep those keep those socks on, guys.
- 20:47Speaker 5: Yeah, don't worry about that, buddy.
- 20:49Speaker 8: We're not crazy.
- 20:50Speaker 5: We are not.
- 20:52Speaker 8: We are not there.
- 20:53Speaker 5: We I don't know what the youth are doing these days.
- 20:55Speaker 5: But that's great.
- 20:57Speaker 7: Got the picture.
- 20:59Speaker 4: I saw it, like it segment. I didn't like it
- 21:02Speaker 4: when I saw it.
- 21:04Speaker 7: Oh no, there are either no shows or he's just
- 21:07Speaker 7: straight up not worrying any.
- 21:11Speaker 5: Ain't no shows it there had never been theirs. I
- 21:15Speaker 5: mean you, no socks on then.
- 21:17Speaker 8: Feet, you can't wear really no shows with the cleats.
- 21:22Speaker 8: I guess you could. It's kind of unheard of though. Yeah,
- 21:26Speaker 8: that's I don't agree.
- 21:28Speaker 4: I don't know if I feel good about our first
- 21:30Speaker 4: round pick. All right, we got to take a break.

- 23:19Speaker 8: You got oh kid, you got an email?
- 23:26Speaker 7: I hit the wrong button?
- 23:28Speaker 8: Have you got mail?
- 23:31Speaker 5: Did we ever come up with the equivalent of you've
- 23:33Speaker 5: got mail?
- 23:35Speaker 8: To remember the I gotta text?
- 23:38Speaker 5: Is that what we's that?
- 23:41Speaker 7: I say?
- 23:42Speaker 5: Yeah? So what I'm saying because you know the movie
- 23:43Speaker 5: like you've got mail? Email?
- 23:47Speaker 8: Like you know, you remember what it said in the
- 23:49Speaker 8: movie A trip.
- 23:50Speaker 7: Here, y'a are supposed to cheer after I say we
- 23:54Speaker 7: didn't know?
- 23:56Speaker 5: It is a reference.
- 23:58Speaker 8: I haven't started member right, let's practice.
- 24:02Speaker 7: Okay, I don't have one, but I'll do it anyway.
- 24:05Speaker 7: I gotta tell yes, that's exactly how you are supposed
- 24:13Speaker 7: to respond.
- 24:15Speaker 8: You remember the movie euro Trip? Yes? Do you remember
- 24:19Speaker 8: what his said when he got mail? Oh?
- 24:21Speaker 9: My gosh, I know, And I just watched this not
- 24:24Speaker 9: long ago.
- 24:25Speaker 8: He said, still the greatest came.
- 24:34Speaker 5: Had no idea.
- 24:39Speaker 9: It's like he's just obscenely screaming this song directly to
- 24:43Speaker 9: Scotty at Scotty's party. Then you look and you're like
- 24:47Speaker 9: the guy with stud in his chin happens to be
- 24:49Speaker 9: Matt Damon.
- 24:50Speaker 8: It's just and I got a feeling that's Scotty. Did
- 24:54Speaker 8: know I don't know.
- 24:59Speaker 5: He thought she was just praising the Lord.
- 25:01Speaker 8: Look, do you know what we're talking about? Do you
- 25:03Speaker 8: know what Scotty didn't know? You don't? How old are you?
- 25:08Speaker 6: Do you?
- 25:10Speaker 8: I mean that you should know what? You should know
- 25:11Speaker 8: what Scotty didn't know. We're gonna give you a little
- 25:14Speaker 8: homework if you choose to accept it.
- 25:20Speaker 5: Should you choose to accept that.
- 25:22Speaker 8: Which you must, you need to go home and watch it.
- 25:24Speaker 8: Euro Trip, euro Trip? What a good movie? Yeah? His
- 25:31Speaker 8: his friend Michael from Europe.
- 25:35Speaker 9: Michael, No, it's Mika.
- 25:39Speaker 8: Oh Micah.
- 25:39Speaker 4: Yeah, Oh that's so good. I think Luke's actually gonna
- 25:44Speaker 4: watch it.
- 25:45Speaker 8: No, no, yep, I do. Oh yeah, Luke likes laugh.
- 25:52Speaker 4: He likes laugh.
- 25:55Speaker 9: I like laugh, live laugh, Luke, I'll be lobby seted not.
- 26:04Speaker 5: I still don't get the whole cow situation that we
- 26:06Speaker 5: were talking.
- 26:07Speaker 9: It's weird.
- 26:08Speaker 8: Yeah, that's strange. We don't have to understand it though. True.
- 26:19Speaker 5: What are they called.
- 26:20Speaker 9: Again, Scottish Highland or highland?
- 26:25Speaker 8: Okay? Sure? What's the point do you think of the
- 26:29Speaker 8: bangs on the cow? Like most animals their features, there's
- 26:35Speaker 8: a reason it's there, Like I don't is there a
- 26:38Speaker 8: lot of dust in Scotland had to like shield protect
- 26:43Speaker 8: their eyes from this.
- 26:44Speaker 9: It's gotta be for a purpose, you would think, right, The.
- 26:47Speaker 8: Long hair in that particular place of their body usually
- 26:50Speaker 8: like a random feature on an animal. It's there for
- 26:54Speaker 8: some sort of.
- 26:56Speaker 5: Some sort good Lord puts everything there for.
- 26:58Speaker 8: It's just a fashion.
- 26:59Speaker 7: Statement to protect their eyes from the harsh Scottish weather
- 27:02Speaker 7: and pesky summer insects. The long hair blocks heavy rain,
- 27:07Speaker 7: wind and snow from directly irritating their eyes and it
- 27:12Speaker 7: prevents insects from landing on their eyes.
- 27:14Speaker 8: I gotta tell you. Sometimes we watch these animal documentaries
- 27:16Speaker 8: and like the flies. To me, as an animal, there's
- 27:19Speaker 8: a lot of things as an animal I wouldn't appreciate,
- 27:23Speaker 8: like getting eaten stuff like that.
- 27:24Speaker 5: Yeah, that suck.
- 27:25Speaker 8: But the animals or the flies and the bugs they
- 27:28Speaker 8: got to deal with sometimes it's tough. Man. It just
- 27:31Speaker 8: it gives me like I'm like claustrophobic watching I feeling
- 27:35Speaker 8: bad for these animals with all these flies on them. Yeah,
- 27:39Speaker 8: it's tough, tough. Look for him. I'm glad I'm a
- 27:42Speaker 8: human and have thumbs.
- 27:44Speaker 5: I mean, the couch is trying to be a little
- 27:45Speaker 5: emo out there. In the wild, you.
- 27:47Speaker 4: Know, protecting his eyeballs, singing, Hey there, Delilah.
- 27:52Speaker 8: When God made that, you think you had an idea
- 27:55Speaker 8: that it would be pretty popular. Hobby hobby lobby Probably not.
- 27:59Speaker 5: I don't know. Hobby lobby does have kind of Christian ties.
- 28:01Speaker 8: Maybe he did.
- 28:03Speaker 4: I don't know. It's a good store, great store. Yeah,
- 28:09Speaker 4: for a store of that size to survive and survive. Yeah,
- 28:15Speaker 4: Actually a good point.
- 28:17Speaker 8: All those things that's like not a lot can home
- 28:20Speaker 8: good home good, like hobby lobby, and like Loa's on depot,
- 28:25Speaker 8: Like what else can survive with that square footage and.
- 28:28Speaker 5: Love's on depot?
- 28:29Speaker 4: You get it because it's like you you can't Amazon
- 28:31Speaker 4: a washer and a dryer, you know, yeah, I can't
- 28:34Speaker 4: just get an Amazon refrigerator right right right, Like that
- 28:37Speaker 4: one makes more sense.
- 28:38Speaker 8: But for hobby lobby, hobby lobby, I mean you you
- 28:42Speaker 8: could just get some crafts.
- 28:43Speaker 7: I couldn't tell you the last time I stepped foot
- 28:45Speaker 7: in a hobby lobby.
- 28:47Speaker 8: I went last year.
- 28:48Speaker 9: Uh, probably play around round Christmas of like over a
- 28:53Speaker 9: year ago, so Christmas before.
- 28:55Speaker 8: Last, Like the kids will have projects that pop up.
- 28:59Speaker 8: They have to do school projects and stuff.
- 29:01Speaker 5: Framed yeah, and that's why I think we were picking
- 29:04Speaker 5: up something. She's getting florals. That's what we were doing
- 29:08Speaker 5: there last week, and of course florals.
- 29:10Speaker 4: Of course, Harlowe and Memphis came up to the register
- 29:13Speaker 4: with prizes. That's what hobby lobby does. They're smart. They
- 29:17Speaker 4: got the prizes right there. Let me check out.
- 29:19Speaker 9: You should get the circus peanuts in the used to
- 29:22Speaker 9: get those.
- 29:23Speaker 5: I've ever met that.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Like the.
- 29:27Speaker 8: First Daniel Well bash him in the chat said, would
- 29:32Speaker 8: would Heifer Flynn win a blue ribbon for a shnkles?
- 29:37Speaker 7: Probably?
- 29:41Speaker 5: Whatever the situation you got going.
- 29:43Speaker 8: On over there, buddy, are you kidding? I did not
- 29:46Speaker 8: fall within the legal limit of a cankle.
- 29:48Speaker 5: That's true, you didn't.
- 29:53Speaker 8: That's fair.
- 29:56Speaker 7: How do we feel about reseating tournaments?
- 29:59Speaker 9: Dumb?
- 30:01Speaker 5: I think it's stupid, dumb, idiotic.
- 30:04Speaker 8: I need to hear the argument for it.
- 30:07Speaker 5: The bracket is the bracket is the bracket.
- 30:09Speaker 7: The argument for it is that the two teams, like
- 30:12Speaker 7: for example, Troy and Little Rock play each other, which
- 30:19Speaker 7: Georgia fans feel like that's an easy draw for either
- 30:22Speaker 7: of the two because they're both like the lower seeded teams.
- 30:25Speaker 7: That made it out that regional and so Georgia because
- 30:30Speaker 7: of the seeding, Like, so they're the lower seeded teams
- 30:33Speaker 7: that made it out of the regional and then so
- 30:36Speaker 7: Georgia faces Mississippi State. So they feel like they that's
- 30:40Speaker 7: unfair to them because they get a higher seeded team
- 30:45Speaker 7: than the so like basically they want to punish the
- 30:47Speaker 7: lower seed for beating the higher seeds and getting out
- 30:50Speaker 7: the regional bracket.
- 30:52Speaker 5: Play in every sport that we play.
- 30:56Speaker 4: Baseball tournament, right, and we're the you know, the the
- 31:00Speaker 4: higher seed, but the seed that played the two seeds.
- 31:03Speaker 4: I say, the eight seed plays the two seed and
- 31:06Speaker 4: the eight seed wins, Like we don't get to say hey,
- 31:09Speaker 4: like actually, like we want it. We want a different
- 31:11Speaker 4: situation because like this this seed upset this seed, and
- 31:15Speaker 4: so we feel like we shouldn't have to play the
- 31:18Speaker 4: three seed. We want to play that eight seed. That
- 31:19Speaker 4: one actually against that two seed. So it's not gonna
- 31:22Speaker 4: be one, three, two four since the eight seed one. Yeah,
- 31:25Speaker 4: like actually we're the one seeds, so we want the
- 31:27Speaker 4: eight seed and not No, it's not how it works.
- 31:29Speaker 9: Yeah, Like what if what if tu Lane would have
- 31:31Speaker 9: upset Ole miss in round one of the playoffs. Would
- 31:34Speaker 9: would Indiana be like, oh no, no, we get we
- 31:35Speaker 9: get that instead of instead of this, we're like, no,
- 31:39Speaker 9: they tried to do this at the NCAA tournament. Say
- 31:42Speaker 9: we should reseed it once it gets to the sweet sixteen.
- 31:44Speaker 9: Why you're punishing the small school for running through a
- 31:47Speaker 9: regional as a four seed. Little Rock swept that regional,
- 31:50Speaker 9: by the way, didn't lose a game.
- 31:52Speaker 7: Yeah, they look that and like the higher Yeah, the
- 31:55Speaker 7: higher seeded team had two opportunities to win and get
- 31:58Speaker 7: out of there.
- 31:59Speaker 9: So and how about Georgia get the hard game. If
- 32:02Speaker 9: they think it's so easy, get the hard game. Mississippi
- 32:03Speaker 9: State out of the way early, Omaha, is that much
- 32:06Speaker 9: easier for you?
- 32:07Speaker 4: Look, and if you can't beat Mississippi State, you don't
- 32:09Speaker 4: deserve to go to the cars.
- 32:10Speaker 9: Yeah, you're not gonna you're not gonna win it anyways.
- 32:12Speaker 9: If you can beat Mississippi State.
- 32:15Speaker 7: Six seven teams did not make it out their own regional.
- 32:21Speaker 8: Seven. Wow, that's a big number. Oh my god, did
- 32:25Speaker 8: y'all see we got to pull this clip up? Okay,
- 32:27Speaker 8: we we tease the clipper about we did. Wait, so
- 32:29Speaker 8: that's what we had to pull up also watching last
- 32:32Speaker 8: night what I outside of football and LSU doing cool
- 32:39Speaker 8: things and other sports. I don't think I've ever seen
- 32:41Speaker 8: a sports scene in college athletics that was as cool
- 32:45Speaker 8: as West Virginia post game, all singing together and like
- 32:51Speaker 8: belting it and the singing the entire thing too. I
- 32:55Speaker 8: sat there with my mouth open, like this is awesome.
- 32:58Speaker 7: It was awesome. That chills really like j.
- 33:01Speaker 8: Is really cool.
- 33:02Speaker 9: And you know what's awesome about that, Matt, They've gotten
- 33:05Speaker 9: everybody to do that in every sport in football and basketball.
- 33:08Speaker 8: Also winning it's awesome, a tight game like that, winning
- 33:12Speaker 8: a region we're down, awesome, Yeah, awesome game and they
- 33:16Speaker 8: and like they withstood like a grand Slam too, and
- 33:19Speaker 8: like then coming back in time and they win it
- 33:22Speaker 8: and the whole crowd arms around each other.
- 33:25Speaker 7: Con West Virginia has, like I have like a little
- 33:28Speaker 7: bit of a soft spot for West Virginia because one
- 33:30Speaker 7: of my closest friends growing up went and played baseball
- 33:34Speaker 7: there and he was super hype yesterday, like you either
- 33:38Speaker 7: survive or you Yeah, it was.
- 33:40Speaker 8: It was awesome. We maybe we should close the show
- 33:42Speaker 8: with that.
- 33:42Speaker 5: All right, Well we can do that.
- 33:43Speaker 4: We can also take a break more ot B when

- 35:50Speaker 4: That's ktoz Blinds dot Com. Kto Z and Tears and
- 35:54Speaker 4: Outdoor Living. All right, we got a video that we
- 35:58Speaker 4: wanted to play and this is more Utah former Florida
- 36:02Speaker 4: former Ohio State and former Jacksonville jagui Hey coach Urban
- 36:08Speaker 4: Meyer talking about what it's like to recruit the state
- 36:10Speaker 4: of Louisiana.
- 36:11Speaker 3: Or we played around in Louisiana and we get to
- 36:14Speaker 3: the dance floor with a great player and then he
- 36:17Speaker 3: wouldn't come. So I said, enough, We're We're not. I'm
- 36:19Speaker 3: not flying into Louisiana again. I'm good. There's enough good
- 36:22Speaker 3: players around Georgia and Florida that I'm not going to
- 36:24Speaker 3: go beat my face against the wall and going Louisiana.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Now.
- 36:27Speaker 3: No, Nick Saban went in there and got some players,
- 36:29Speaker 3: but that was a whole different level game that I
- 36:32Speaker 3: was not willing to go do.
- 36:35Speaker 5: It's pretty cool.
- 36:36Speaker 4: One of the better head coaches in college football history.
- 36:39Speaker 4: Like Irbi Meyer, Hater Ramier, whatever, you can't deny that.
- 36:42Speaker 4: He's like, you know what, I'm not doing that anymore
- 36:46Speaker 4: because these guys that I'm having to try to recruit
- 36:49Speaker 4: and like the ties that they have to LSU, I'm
- 36:53Speaker 4: not getting them. Coach Saban's getting a couple just because
- 36:56Speaker 4: of the relationships he had when he was the head coach.
- 36:59Speaker 5: You like, I'm not doing it anymore. Nope, I'm doing it.
- 37:03Speaker 8: Exactly. He said, I'm not going to go beat my
- 37:05Speaker 8: face against the wall trying to recruit inside of the
- 37:09Speaker 8: fence that LSU was definitely putting at the time and
- 37:13Speaker 8: continues to do a little bit. But I would say
- 37:16Speaker 8: now that there's going to be not just a fence,
- 37:19Speaker 8: but a concrete wall around Louisiana and hopefully so.
- 37:24Speaker 5: And there should be.
- 37:25Speaker 8: Yeah, and he should. What do you think he was
- 37:27Speaker 8: talking about at the end there, which part uh when
- 37:30Speaker 8: he said that I think Saban and Alabama they're playing
- 37:33Speaker 8: a different level game that he wasn't willing to play.
- 37:36Speaker 4: Well, he was willing to play any game, so I
- 37:39Speaker 4: don't maybe he just thought maybe he was talking about
- 37:41Speaker 4: because they were, you know, in Louisiana before, because it's
- 37:46Speaker 4: not like irban Meyer wasn't gonna play whatever game he
- 37:48Speaker 4: had to play.
- 37:49Speaker 5: Let's not get that twisted. You like to play, I'd
- 37:55Speaker 5: like to play what.
- 38:00Speaker 8: Crown play around? I don't know, play outside?
- 38:05Speaker 5: All right, you should play, I know what you're talking about.
- 38:08Speaker 8: He liked jack some Little Little Dog bars too.
- 38:10Speaker 4: That was actually in Columbus, Columbus because his team actually
- 38:14Speaker 4: flew back on the team playing and he.
- 38:16Speaker 8: Oh, that's right.
- 38:17Speaker 5: He stayed back remember.
- 38:19Speaker 8: Parties and we were just talking about it the break well.
- 38:23Speaker 8: First of all, really cool to hear perspective of a yeah,
- 38:27Speaker 8: just like you said, of a coach on how tough
- 38:28Speaker 8: it is and how how we feel at least that
- 38:32Speaker 8: with coach O coming on, it's going to only going
- 38:34Speaker 8: to help improve the high school recruiting for LSU football.
- 38:37Speaker 8: Not that it was like bad, it was awesome, but
- 38:39Speaker 8: now it's just going to be like you're you're really
- 38:41Speaker 8: solidifying the state of Louisiana. And sure you can't be
- 38:45Speaker 8: guaranteed to get any player that comes out of Louisiana.
- 38:48Speaker 8: I get it, but it just helps build that wall
- 38:51Speaker 8: around Louisiana from a recruiting standpoint and making it tougher
- 38:54Speaker 8: and tougher for other schools to come in. And you
- 38:56Speaker 8: just heard it from one of the best college coaches
- 38:59Speaker 8: to coach. You heard how tough it was. He just
- 39:01Speaker 8: stopped doing it.
- 39:03Speaker 5: He's like, I'm not doing that anything.
- 39:04Speaker 8: We're not gonna waste our time, like we feel like
- 39:06Speaker 8: we're gonna get up it and they just don't come.
- 39:08Speaker 5: That's pretty actually, pretty cool to hear.
- 39:10Speaker 8: Yeah, it is really.
- 39:10Speaker 4: Because we know what kind of talent this state has,
- 39:13Speaker 4: and if you have the head coach of the Florida
- 39:15Speaker 4: Gators at the time, which was a national power. They
- 39:18Speaker 4: won two national championships in three years saying we're not
- 39:21Speaker 4: doing it. We're not going in there anymore. We know
- 39:25Speaker 4: we don't have to.
- 39:25Speaker 8: Piece it together from like a handful of other states
- 39:28Speaker 8: to maybe get the talent.
- 39:29Speaker 4: And if it ever gets away from that, because it
- 39:31Speaker 4: was Look, we've laid this out before.
- 39:35Speaker 5: It's been like that before.
- 39:36Speaker 4: Think about when you know, guys we go Ed Reed
- 39:40Speaker 4: and Reggie Wayne and Cordell Stewart and war Done and
- 39:44Speaker 4: Major apple White and all these guys went somewhere else
- 39:49Speaker 4: for a long I mean, that's just a handful. Marshall
- 39:51Speaker 4: falalk Like we could talk about all these guys going
- 39:53Speaker 4: somewhere else and like remember, well maybe some of y'all
- 39:56Speaker 4: don't be cause it was a long time ago. But
- 39:58Speaker 4: like when Kevin Falked decided to go to LSU, how
- 40:01Speaker 4: massive that was because Kevin was like, now we're gonna
- 40:04Speaker 4: go there and we're gonna make it cool again and
- 40:05Speaker 4: we're gonna bring it back.
- 40:06Speaker 5: And the big recruit ever.
- 40:08Speaker 4: I think so, I think, I think He's the biggest,
- 40:13Speaker 4: most impactful, the most important, all of those things. I
- 40:17Speaker 4: don't know that you can give me another one, Like,
- 40:21Speaker 4: I don't even know there is that for an argument.
- 40:23Speaker 5: There's been some there's been no Camo went to Texas.
- 40:27Speaker 8: You're right, yeah, there's.
- 40:29Speaker 4: Been massive recruits and like getting Burrow out of the portal, like, uh,
- 40:35Speaker 4: that one's pretty big. But no, Kevin Fox is the
- 40:37Speaker 4: most important. And and when he did that, it was
- 40:41Speaker 4: not cool to go to l s U. That's when
- 40:43Speaker 4: all of those guys from New Orleans and surrounding areas
- 40:46Speaker 4: were going to Miami, they were going to Florida State,
- 40:49Speaker 4: they were going elsewhere.
- 40:51Speaker 8: M hmm.
- 40:53Speaker 4: But now, because if you do it right, this is
- 40:56Speaker 4: what it can be. We're not going in there, not
- 40:59Speaker 4: gonna do it.
- 41:00Speaker 8: Shout out to Kevin, you're the man.
- 41:07Speaker 4: All right, we'll take our last break of the show.
