- Ted Turner: Greetings and welcome in everyone to Dogs Down South. I'm your host, Ted Turner, and this is a massive November game for Georgia and both Ole Miss this week. If you haven't already done so, please go and follow us, like and follow us on YouTube, Dogs Down South, TikTok, Dogs Down South, Apple Podcast, Dogs Down South, Spotify. As well. We're pretty much on any podcasting platform. If you type us in their dogs down south, you're gonna find us. We appreciate the support. tonight's gonna be a fun night. I'm running it solo, dolo. but yeah, so let's hop in. Georgia heads to Oxford, Mississippi, 7 30 p.m. kickoff ESPN. We just mentioned how big of a game is for both of these teams. And even though you look at the possibility of, what happens with Ole Miss, you know, obviously what happens for Georgia is it just strengthens their resume and strengthens their their ranking in the college football playoff and obviously strengthens their chance of going to the SEC championship. But also for Ole Miss, they have an opportunity to make another statement win at home against Georgia and you know kind of Give them another setback. Obviously, last year, a big setback, knocking Georgia out of the playoffs. And after coming so close to beating them in Athens on last year, this is the third time Georgia will meet Ole Miss in twelve months. And so the big question for the Dogs can Georgia's defense control an explosive Ole Miss offense? can they find enough consistency offensively and to win in one of the toughest environments in the SEC, you know It only Vault Hemingway only only seats about sixty one thousand. Man, they make it really difficult there. They make it really difficult to play. We obviously saw the environment against LSU when Lane Kiffin came back there, and this will be no different. they know the implications of beating Georgia, and they know that with the fan base being that twelfth man per se, it's gonna do nothing but enable Ole Miss to have another leg up as far as the night is concerned. It's a night game as well. And I'm sure a lot of Georgia fans, if you're like me, you're like, man, really be nice to get one of those night games in Athens, right? And we and we still may, but we're not really looking ahead of that right now. But so Georgia's sitting at number two in the first college football playoff rankings. We're gonna talk a little bit about those and later on, not much, but I don't think we need to dive too deep into these first rankings. I think they're pretty shot, but we'll we'll talk about a little bit. but a lot of things will change anyway after this weekend as well. Ole Miss at number ten. Both teams have plenty to play for, as mentioned, and neither team can afford to overlook what this game means. Ole Miss beat Georgia and Oxford, we mentioned in twenty twenty four. they beat Georgia again in the Sugar Bowl playoff game. so the question is is and the reason I mentioned that again was is is this revenge, right, for Georgia? I absolutely think it is. I I think that is the motivation that Kirby is driving this team off of this week. Not that Georgia doesn't need motivation, but I think when you look back at it, you look at Auburn, you don't want to really sit there and look at some of the things that happened in the Auburn game and go, well, this team needed that. You never really want to take a loss, especially what losses account for, and you don't get many of them to make this twelve team playoff to be the top of the SEC, especially as crazy as the SEC's been. So you you really don't want to have a a per se wake up call through a loss. You would like to have it hopefully just through, all right, we didn't play at our best, probably should have lost the game. And and I think Georgia, if we go back, should have got out of that game. the costly fumble, the field gold, and you go back and you look and go, we were set up to win that game, but we fumbled. But but I think it was a wake up call. I think this team came out hungry against Florida. If you haven't done so, go check out the last episode. Where I did an overreaction slash recap show on Georgia, Florida. So but we're gonna do everything tonight. we're gonna we're gonna talk about is this revenge? I told you to absolutely think it is, but is Georgia the better football team right now? That's what we're here to discuss. We're gonna break down the quarterbacks, the playmakers, the defense, the special teams. we're gonna do a lot of that tonight. Like I said, I'm I'm flying solo, so I'm gonna be in and out of here. We're still gonna pick the games. just don't have the guys with me tonight. And let's get to the numbers though. record Georgia 7 1. Ole Miss 6 2. College football playoff ranking number two for Georgia, 10 for Ole Miss. Points per game right now. Georgia is 41 points per game, where Ole Miss is averaging 37.1. The key stat that's came up lately is that Georgia is only is only averaging about 21 points in the last three games. total offense 450 for the dogs. three, I'm sorry, four thirty nine for Ole Miss. Passing yards per game around 250 for Georgia, 282 for Ole Miss. Rushing 200 for Georgia, 157 for Ole Miss. points allowed, 14.9. Ole Miss is allowing 24 points a game right now up to this spot in the season. Passing yards allowed, 186, 235 for Ole Miss. Rushing yards 86 to 148 for Ole Miss. And then the turnover margin is plus six. Ole Miss is even. Now let's look at these stats real quick. What stands out immediately to you? Or honestly the things that are gonna really weave into the key to victories later on. you look at Ole Miss allowing a lot of teams this year that especially the ones that that beat them, when Florida beat them, Jaden Baugh ran for around 162 yards on this team. So I think if you look at, not getting too early into the keys to victory, but if you look at what old how Ole Miss is different this year than last year was. This still will be one of the best fronts that we will face all year. This will be a really good front seven, a really stout front four or five that we play. But the run game has been something that has been hard to to to for for for Ole Miss to stop. And then to say to to say that that it's not been hard for the back end to cover as far as you know, passing the passing game and the deep balls and the explosives, I mean, right now. Passing yards allowed per game is around two thirty five. Now, I don't know what that ranks, but I know it's pretty it's pretty high up there as far as what this efficiency on defense normally looks like for Ole Miss is is just not what it's been, I would say. But I don't think statistics are anything you can look at and kind of gauge this game off of this week. It's nice to see them because it's nice to see obviously where Georgia's gonna need the key and kind of go and Things of that nature. Big big statistical differences. Georgia scores 3.9 more points per game. Georgia allows 9.1 fewer points per game. They average 42.6 more rushing yards. and then Georgia's defense allows 62.9 fewer total yards. That's the big statistic. 62.9 fewer yards total per game than Ole Miss. so let's just kind of go off script. I went off script a little bit against Georgia, Florida, but this is a this is a we we know what we're gonna we know what we're gonna see, right? Trinidad Chambliss is probably I would tell you I think he's the best quarterback in the SEC and he could be one of the best players in the country. but what you have seen with Ole Miss this year is as Trinidad goes, so does Ole Miss. And he's had some games this year where he didn't. He's had some games where he threw three picks in one game, I think, and if I if I read that right, and he's had some games where he's just been really flushed out of the pocket, not on his own accord, but just because he's having to get out of there because the pocket is just collapsing, the line's not holding up, and it's causing him to have to make quick decisions and quick throws. They're taking away running lanes. And those are the teams that have been successful in beating him, excuse me, beating Ole Miss this year, is is is keeping Trinidad Chambliss uncomfortable. And that's not going to be any different of a story for Georgia. I think you have to keep them you have to keep him very uncomfortable. I think you have to make sure, just like Keelan Russell, you have to make sure that we are really locking down those rush lanes. We can't just be out of control trying to get to the quarterback and, releasing rushing lanes that are gonna hurt us, seams per se, that are gonna hurt us. And they did a good job of that with Keelan Russell. Also think we did a good job of that with Aaron Filo and Tramel Jones against Florida. And this is a Florida team that pretty handily beat Florida pretty handily beat Gold Miss. So I I I think nobody nobody that follows Georgia football and knows about Ole Miss will disagree with me that Trinidad Chamberlains is the key to their victory as a as far as a blimp view is concerned and not digging too much into details. But for Georgia and another blimp view look at it is is you can't just get to him. Okay. Here's the key. You can't just get to him. In years past we've gotten to him. We just hadn't gotten him on the ground. We had that problem with Byron Brown from Auburn. Felt like we were there a lot. We just didn't really get him down on the ground. we're gonna have to get Trinidad Chamblers down on the ground. Obviously, you look at Ole Miss and you have that feeling that they don't really have as good of a supporting cast as they did last year. obviously Keywon Lacey's not gonna be in for this game. It's gonna be a little bit of a running back by committee. I would tell you that the wide receivers, although still good, I don't think it it's anywhere as good as last year's wide receivers. And I think you look at parts of this defense, they lost a good chunk of this defense last year. And this has been a peak golding defense that is unlike him in a lot of areas. We know what he wants to do, but at a high level this year, they've not been able to do it. let's look at key players real quick. obviously everybody will look and go, Gunner's gotta Gunner's gotta be Gunner. Now, Lot of lot of Georgia fans are concerned about the Georgia Florida and the offensive productivity. And I don't want to really dive too deep into that tonight because we dove pretty deep into it in the Georgia Florida overreaction podcast last, what was it, two days ago. but you know, these games, it just feels like these games are when Gunner really comes out of his shell, right? you saw him a lot of implications in our mind on Oklahoma. We've been we've been circling that Oklahoma game because we thought Oklahoma would be much improved. we thought if they could add an offensive tandem to their defensive scheme that was really good. This team could be very, very, very good. So we had that game circled and I think I think Gunner played really well. I think that obviously the defense and what they did to the offense, the turnovers we created against John Matei, kinda like Florida, it didn't really it didn't really look, incredibly great. But Gunnar played a really good game against Oklahoma. And then obviously you turn around to the Alabama game, which was very physical. it was a very it's probably the most hard hitting game in college football. sorry, in c in the all the entire college football season. it's definitely the hardest hitting game that I've seen all season. And if you've seen the better one, I'd love to know which one it is. But that was a taxing game as far as health, as far as you look at what came after that game, and that was A Georgia team that was beat up, banged up, tired. They took an L. You look at an Alabama team that came off of a of a of that game and beat up, banged up, and took an L to Tennessee. So when you look at Gunner, you just have that feeling that, you've seen him go into Tuscaloosa, very, very crazy atmosphere, crowd that's probably got about 34,000 people in it. And so, you go, you go, man, Gunner's been in this environment. thirty thousand less. They do it up in in Oxford though. In Holly Taddyville, they do it up. it's gonna be loud, it's gonna be crazy. the fans there are pretty nasty. You got a bunch of frat boys and sorority girls that are loud and they're just known to get really rowdy. It's a tough environment to play in and it's gonna be every it's gonna it's gonna take everything we got as far as the fan base we got going and the cheers that can be heard through the T V to be able to offset a little bit of this home field advantage. It reminds me of what I've said about Georgia so far this year. And, not to sidetrack too far, but Georgia's got two games left on their schedule at home. Regardless win or lose, they have to still play Missouri and South Carolina, which are going to be tough games. And they got Georgia Tech coming to coming to Athens. And I'm just going to tell you little sidebar, it's going to have to be loud. We're going to have to be different in that stadium. We we just have to. Right. Missouri is well capable of putting together a great offense. They have they have a great offense. They're well capable of doing really good things on defense as much as Auburn was. And so we can look and we can we can really gauge into this old miss game, but we're not better as a you know, in some avenues as a as a home field advantage. man, that really stinks for our our our for our football team because If you're in your feelings about, well, I don't I don't really like the offense or I don't like the I don't like this call or I don't like that call. that's that's your prerogative, but at the end of the day, it'd be nice if you would get out of your seat and maybe just pull for this team so that we can have an advantage of playing at home and not a I don't even know if it's a disadvantage, but but I think it's just a a missed opportunity. To come into a stadium and be like, man, I can't believe it was that quiet in there. I can't believe it was that easy to play in that stadium. The sad thing is Auburn left with that this year. But when we look at this, the reason we said all that was because we've seen Gunner play in really tight environments, as in loud environments. You got you got a feeling this could be an opportunity for butterflies, for nervousness, things of that nature. I don't think you see that with Gunner. I think, I think Gunner is is steady eddy this year. I think some of our fans are kind of overreacting on Gunner now. and we talked about it at you know the Georgia Florida podcast, but you know, the design runs I think were totally based off of Kirby and Bobo and Schumann, CN man. It was really hard to stop Byron Brown. It was it was hard to get another blocker into that scheme and create that. And they're like, man, if we can get Gunner in that phase of the run game, then man, that that would be another avenue that we can tap into. And I think it was intentional. Now, did I want to see it 14 to 16 times? No. When we were up 24 points, did I want to see his number being called off tackle and up the middle and things of that nature? No. I think if and even if Gunner's check into that, I think what you're hearing through the headset is, hey, you You can't, you gotta, you gotta not do that. I maybe seven, eight design runs I'd have been okay with, but the ones later on, I have to agree with the fan base, like that was a little bit ridiculous, right? Now, I will tell you what I have a feeling that that tells me. it's not that they want to serve up Gunner on a plate to be injured, but what it does tell me is that that Kirby and this this this staff, they have a lot of confidence in Ryan Baglisi. Because you don't go out there and see that happening if you they don't think Ryan Paglisi can come in and pick up where Gunnar's left off. Maybe a little bit of a different skill set, maybe a little bit of a of a different game readiness and and been there and done that. But if they don't feel like Ryan Paglisi can come in and do a great job for this football team, then yes, they're gonna be way more careful with Gunner stock. But obviously you trust two things in November. And I said it, I said it last week. You trust quarterbacks. You trust coaches. So Gunnar's number one on my list, 1,671 passing yards. He's completing at a 71.8 completion percentage, 174.1 pass efficiency, sixth nationally in completion percentage. Sixth nationally in completion percentage. Okay. I repeated that because, man man, these couch coaches that I love to address every week, man. Can you just go and Understand that you have a quarterback who is completing the football at a very high rate. I went back and watched that game. again. That's the third time I've watched the Georgia Florida game. This one I watched through a YouTube channel that just had the moments. It didn't have like commercials and the lag in between. It was straight plays. I really enjoy that. There's I don't know who does it, but if you search through there, like Georgia. Georgia football games, no no lag or no commercials or anything. It's straight plates. Takes you about thirty, thirty, forty minutes to get through there on what normally takes shops three hours. but two two things that jump out to me is is I mean, you have a you have a team that has done everything they need to do to secure a victory. They they've they've been running the ball down the throats of Florida all day long. Just keep doing what you're doing. There's really no reason to do anything different. Now, To say that is to also remind you that there were plenty of times, if you go back and watch in the second half, that Gunner had the opportunity and would love, would have loved to target some of these guys running free. I do think that Florida did a better job in the second half getting pressure. I think they did a better job of putting us in situations where Gunner had to be a little bit quicker on his throws. I think sometimes you may have gotten some of these screen pass analogies that everybody's talking about. Listen, I really don't think that's the play that's just like they're they're breaking the huddle going, man, we're putting on our all our eggs on screen on screen game or know, quick pass to the wideout. I think that there's some check downs going on there. And, you know, when you look at the amount of times we turned the ball over on spast Saturday, zero, you just kind of gotta be happy about that. And you kind of gotta look and go, all right, like it's incredible, right? If you've thought ahead and you actually think to yourself, What's going to be one of the key the key victories to beating Ole Miss? Clock management, running the football. You take the crowd out of the game. if you don't think that George has been working on that, and if you don't think that that game plan came to Kirby's mind this past Saturday, you don't know our coach. Our coach is very methodical. He he knows what he's doing. And man, in a world where coaches are flying left and right and and there's you know just inconsistencies all around. We have a coach that we should be very proud to have. I know I am. do I question it some here or there? I mean, yeah. But I'm not just dialing it up that it's like, man, we just we just suck. Man, we're terrible. What are we doing? I I don't ever get that far. Dwight Phillips Jr., Craig Dandridge, these two guys on offense, I feel like we're big playmakers against Alabama on the road. I think they're gonna be big playmakers for us on the road against Ole Miss. I think Dwight Phillips is one of, if not the most electric back we have on our football team. I think Craig Dandrich Jr., man, his hands are well ahead of his even his football knowledge. He has this raw talent. He's fast as all get out. He runs really good routes and he has really good acumen around catching the football. His hands are really good. They go out, they get the football. He doesn't allow it to get to his body. And he knows how to adjust when the ball's in the air to make sure he's in a good spot to catch the ball. And guys he's only a freshman. Like this time last year, like he was, you know, doing homework or high school. So these kids are these these two kids right here are incredibly talented. Obviously look at Dwight. His numbers don't match up because of what Georgia likes to do with their running backs. So four hundred and fifteen rushing yards. A lot of that was a key key in the Alabama game. Leading rusher for Georgia as well. And you might not you might not know that, but that is where we're at this year. Dwight Phillips Phillips is leading the team in rushing. Can Georgia establish a run and keep the rebels from teeing off on Stockton? That's where those two things mix. That's the question you gotta ask yourself. How do we slow down this front and these linebackers? Okay, because you heard Pete Golding and his presser. They're gonna want to stop the run. They are going to sell out to stop the run. They are gonna do their best. To the best of their ability, they want Gunnar Stockton to beat them. If they can go to that locker room and go, man, Gunner beat us, it's not going to feel any better, but I will definitely tell you that they'll look and go, okay, we knew that's what had to happen if we were going to have a chance. obviously you look at two, I mean, these two guys, man, these two names I'm just gonna mention, like, I heard this said by Rusty Manzell, and I'm gonna echo this and not steal it. but Every single opportunity you get to watch Chris Cole and KJ Bolden play. Enjoy it because they are they are going w they will be in the NFL next year on a team and they will be making a huge difference on that team. These are two NFL ready guys. And the great thing about both of them is they play with f with a lot of fire, passion, and energy. They're great kids. They have great character, high character, and they are absolute elite athletes. They're also really good students. I mean, Chris Cole alone, two defensive touchdowns this season, both on fumble returns. He's a butkiss award f semifinalist. you know, can he continue to be able to play free? That's gonna be a key here in a minute when we talk about victory and what the keys of victory are. Can he play free? Can these linebackers continue to play free because this defensive line is getting pressure with four and they're eating up blocks. So that these linebackers don't have to take them on. Then you look at KJ, his return was huge against against Florida. he he did some really good things. his ability to be able to get us in the right play calls, to kind of have the confidence to look at what play action does to a defense and your eyes and your body. And when you play run support and you tackle well and you have to be smart and not allow big plays. And you have a guy on that back, and this consistently knows that. It's not just his job to do that. It's his job to do that, to think that way, but also to coach and mentor the guys around him to think that way and know where they're at and what they're supposed to be doing to complete that team so that they can get that done as a unit. He does an incredible job with that. It was very you could just tell he was in that lineup on Saturday. The defense was absolutely flying around. And this is guys, this wasn't some Lorda team that was just over overmatched or not good or, just a letdown as far as the year. They they they have great talent on both sides of the football. They have great athletes. I think John Somerall for his first year has built a really good group of guys. And I would tell you that this is the same team that went into Texas and beat him. This is the same team that, you know. Man, it the Florida Florida has done some really, really good things this year. the Texas win, obviously huge. but then the olmus win early in the year at the swamp. I mean, absolutely in control of that entire game. So, but yeah, man, KJ Bold and Chris Cole, these are both all American candidates. They're gonna be playing on Sundays next year and enjoy them because we don't have long. Okay. Other Georgia players to watch, Raylan Wilson, obviously. I think the linebackers gonna be extremely key. Ellis Robinson, I think he'll be fine. A lot of people, we are gonna go over here very shortly the the the injury list that came out, the the availability report that came out not too long ago. Jordan Hall, man, he had a really, really good game against Florida, especially in the in the second half. really came on strong in the second half, a voice in that room, a veteran voice in that room, a key defensive lineman that When he's healthy. That's one thing I will say is this Georgia team did not have health on the they didn't have Gabe Harris against Ole Miss last year and they didn't have Drew Boba. So that's a huge difference maker. Peyton Woodring, key man, he's had some he's been a little squirrely lately. You want to see Peyton just kind of come back to I've been using a lot tonight, but come back to steady Eddie, right? And then Talon Taylor, he's been another receiver, one and eighty one have been the go to's for Gunner when he needs when he needs a pickup. He's been looking their way. I s I do think this will be a game against Ole Miss that Georgia will have to complete a lot of passes to a lot of receivers. I think that's gonna put Ole Miss in a really big bind, especially trying to cover, you know, seven, eight, ten people, you know, every possession. That's gonna be very, very key. important storyline to look at though, Georgia's running back room has dealt with injuries. Nate Frazier, I think, look The best he's looked this past Saturday after coming back from that rib injury that he desperately tried to fight back from. He did not play that Alabama game. And I if you remember the storyline was pretty upset about that. And I believe a lot of people would have said if Nate Frazier's not playing against Alabama, George doesn't have a chance to win. And man, to watch those guys like Bo Walker and Dwight step up and just have big games. Chris Peel stepped up. they just they did a really, really phenomenal job. And so when you look at the depth of our running back room, getting them healthy is huge. I I I think I read on the questionable report that Chauncey Bowens is back on the questionable report. I'm seeing people like Ty Boogie on there. Tyreek is on there. do we get Isaiah Canyon back? I mean, he he dressed last week. He warmed up, he he was there. I think he could have played, but for whatever reason didn't. But that would be huge to get that to get a big body wide receiver back that honestly the beginning of the year was supposed to be very trustworthy to throw his direction. And honestly, I had him pick to be one of the biggest receiving threats from this Georgia team. To have him back and to get him back and to be able to utilize him would be absolutely huge. and so those are those those are Georgia players that I I feel like are are are are very key players in just a a very surface level look because we're not going to dive too deep tonight. you look at Ole Miss. Obviously, we talked about Trinidad Chambless. The number that Steeks speaks out to you is twenty one hundred and eighty-nine passing yards, eighteen passing touchdowns at a sixty-three point nine percentage completion percentage rate, two hundred and seventy-three point six passing yards per game. The matchup, I I really feel like Georgia's got to contain him in the pocket. I think we've to get him on the ground. We can't just get to him. We got to get him on the ground and prevent him from extending plays. we talked about Kewan Lacey will not play in this game, which means they'll have a little bit of a a core of of two running backs that will be sharing carries. and then you look at Deuce Alexander, leading receiver, 669 receiving yards. Georgia's defensive backs will have to know where this guy is. Very electric guy, very explosive. he's a great athlete, has great hands. Horatio Fields has five rushing touchdowns. Another dangerous red zone target for Ole Miss. can't afford to double Alexander because Horatio Fields can hurt you. and then a defensive lineman that comes to comes to my mind is is is Blake Purchase. you know, four sacks this year. probably I I'm I don't know if I could say the best pass rusher for Ole Miss, but definitely one of them. and the in the matchup obviously is can Ole Miss pressure Stockton without having to blitz. That's the key. I think for both teams, that's the key. Can you get to the quarterback? Can you cause pressure? Can you cause havoc without having to blitz the linebacker? other Ole Miss players to watch, obviously Caleb, Caleb Odin at Odom at tight end. Mikai Frazier is one of the is one of the running backs that will be kind of by committee, Luke Farrell on defense. Ole Miss averaging six point yards, one six point one yards per play. that is not an offense Georgia can afford to let get come. big plays are something that if they can be limited, Georgia has a really good chance of winning this football game. Some interesting storylines to know before we get into keys to victory. Ole Miss leads the Kirby Smart Error series three to two. Ole Miss is two and against Georgia in Oxford during the Smart Error. Georgia has scored fifty-two and forty-three points in the last two regular season wins against Ole Miss. Ole Miss scored twenty-three in the twenty twenty four Oxford win and thirty-nine in the Sugar Bowl. Sugar Bowl was the first time these teams played twice in the same season. obviously we remember the storyline of the Sugar Bowl. And if you had to go back and relive that nightmare, I think we could look and go two things. Number one, I think Trinidad Chambless had to come into that game and play the play the game of his life. And he did. he was electric. He was he was the Superman. He wore the Superman name tag that everybody gave him this year. And he did some really incredible things. But I think when you go back and you look at the other part about it was is that Georgia I really had opportunities to get him on the ground. I I think we had a really we had a lot of busts as far as how we were going to take on getting him contained in the pocket because he can beat you in the pocket and he can beat you with his legs and he doesn't mind doing either and he can create things when things break down. that's what makes him dangerous. he doesn't typically I don't look at him as a typical dual threat because just like Keelan Russell, I don't think there's any plays that are just really drawn up. with the intentionality of going, we're gonna run Trinidad this this time. I I think it's more of there are some plays in his basket that he can call his number, but I think it's not ideal, right? he's a guy that can that can hurt you outside of the pocket, but he can also hurt you inside the pocket. He's the real deal. He's he's he's all around and it's one of the reasons why I think he'll be a top he'll be a top pick in the first round draft in a first round draft pick next year. another interesting statistic, George is 32 and six and in SEC opponent stadiums since two thousand sixteen but is yet to win in Oxford. So motivation one one right here. Revenge and we've we've not beaten Ole Miss as far as with Kirby in Oxford. So that's a huge take. All right, let's let's hop into this real quick. We're gonna talk a little bit of playoff stuff. We're gonna make our picks and then we're gonna end the show tonight. I think first and foremost for Georgia, okay, these are my keys really quick. Key one, establish the running game. Georgia averages 200 yards rushing per game. Ole Miss allows 149.9. Georgia needs to make Ole Miss respect the run early, take the crowd out of it, slow this game down. And do you know where Trinidad Chambless cannot hurt Georgia? On the bench, not in the game. And it opens up A lot of things in the passing game that we want to do, and our fan base wants to so desperately see intermediate passing routes and opportunities for Stockton are gonna be there against this, this, this Ole Miss defense. It's been allowed this year. But I think how you get there is to get them to a point where they go, We really want to stop the run, but if we really can't stop it, it's gonna be a really long day for Ole Miss. So I think that's why I have it as my number. one key is to establish the run game and be able to do it. Now, hint hint, don't you think maybe that Georgia was looking and going, if I got two, two quarters to get ready for old miss, just give me another take. I'm not making excuses, but Kirby is very methodical about what he does with this team and how he goes about doing it, especially in the NIL era, especially when you're talking about injuries and how much they hurt teams You take opportunities that you can get. And I'm not guaranteeing that because I haven't asked him personally, but I would tell you that he will use every, everything and anything he can to give him the upper hand for the next week's games. And he'll never admit that. He'll never admit to you they might have done some old miss last week. Heck, he might either let them know they were doing old miss last week. There could have been some looks that were happening. And in his mind, he knows what's going on. In their mind, they're just like, all right, we're doing this because we're scouting it and we just got to do it. key two, you're gonna have to make Chamless uncomfortable. We talked about this. He's throwing for 2,189 yards and 18 touchdowns. Pressure him, collapse the pocket, make him throw before his receivers finish their routes. Don't let him extend plays. Easier said than done. But I think the key in all this in that a three-part series is you have to collapse the pocket and get him down. You cannot leave seams because you're trying to be a hero. We did a really good job against Alabama and Keelan Russell with this. Is you don't need to try to be Superman. You need to try to be a team player and make that pocket collapse. Make somebody have to double, make somebody have to pick up so that everybody can win their area, collapse the pocket, and he has no choice of what's going on. T three, you gotta eliminate explosive plays from O miss. Okay. They're they're equal. They're capable, if not even more capable than Alabama was of making big plays, explosive plays and extending the field. they average two hundred and eighty-two yards passing per game. Georgia's secondary must also tackle well in space. You're gonna have a lot of that. They're gonna spread you out. and I think that it's gonna be a key for Georgia is to continue continue to be able to tackle well. We didn't do an incredible job of that against Auburn, but we're gonna have to tackle well, we're gonna have to cover well and and And that Schumann's gonna leave those corners on some islands. They're gonna have to take away the big play. They're gonna have to play well. This is a game they have to just sell it all out. We knew what those games were this year in our mind. We circled Oklahoma, we circled Alabama, and we we certainly circled Ole Miss in Oxford. Key four, gotta control the environment. Got to. Oxford is e is a difficult place to play like we talked earlier. Avoid avoid false starts, penalties, unnecessary stuff. Georgia needs to quiet the crowd, take them out of it, keep Trinidad Chamos on the sideline and extend drives. And regardless, and we want them to obviously, produce points, but regardless of that, the field goal rent the field goal game is gonna be huge. did I say field goal? The field position game is gonna be huge. We're gonna have to make sure that we're putting them in spots where they're not starting at, you know, the middle, the middle of the field or Definitely not in our territory type things. We're going to have to put them in situations where if they're going to score touchdowns, they got to go eighty plus yards to get there. E five, you got to win the turnover battle. Georgia's done a really great job of that. And we've shown time and time again when we have extended multiple turnovers, we have won handedly, and we've really put other teams in a huge limbo where they just feel like they're useless when we can can get those turnovers early. Set the tone, set the pace, and continue to lean on that run game and the line to slow the game down, close the game out, and hopefully keep some of these high powered offenses that we're gonna face later on. But definitely against on s against Ole Miss on Saturday, we're gonna have to win the turnoff, the turnover battle. We're gonna have to force some as well. last but not least, I would say we we can't overlook special teams. We were a better this past week. in the punt game. I don't think you you see Peyton Wood drinking. He did miss another field goal, but you didn't see him as many times as you did the week before. but I think he he looked a little squirrely during the game. That one he missed and then the one later on. I just think he's gotta get loose, right? He's gotta get loose. He's got to come in here and he's gotta kick with knowing that this fan base, this coaching staff, this these players have his back. that's one thing. You can't miss one and go, all right, they're gonna, they're gonna all hate me. And you can't have these things running through your mind. You gotta go out there, you gotta forget it, and you gotta kick the next ball because he's gonna have the opportunities. His game could come down to a field goal. And we need Peyton Woodring to be as automatic as he's been in the past. And I would sit there and tell you that I think that dog fans now are looking and going, I don't feel like the last few weeks we have a gimme when it comes down to if it if it's a game winning field goal. that's not a good feeling to have because I've had those feelings that they are gimmeys the past two years. So far this year, I have had some doubt. but I think it's nothing based off of what he can and can't do. It's everything based off of the mental aspect and being present and knowing what you have to do, how you have to practice, and how you have to do the same thing the same way every day to get the same outcome. And that's your character mentality and what you bring to the to the field every day. And, you got you gotta lock in on a thirty plus yard field goal, even though it's not something you're not trying to win the game with six with a sixty four yarder, but it's very, very important that every single bit of points we can put on that board get on that board. Period. Last but not least, when you look at those keys to Victors, I think it we would be we would be dumb not to mention the elephant in the room, which is I think a lot of fans are concerned about the offense. I would tell you, I trust Gunner. I trust Mike Bobo. I trust Kirby Smart. And I do think that they are very methodical about how they go about doing things. To a point where I think if you were a fly on the wall and they let you know what they were doing, you would be like, you might be like, that's genius, right? I and I don't know the degree of it, but I do know that you if if you're a Georgia van, you are backing a team that you have a coach that really, really, really does an incredible job of leading, setting his team up for success, dotting I's, crossing T's. He doesn't miss a beat. He does not miss a beat. He's one of the, if not the best. And I'll be partial and say he's the best coach in college football presently right now. he does he does everything at a high level and I gotta know that he's exuding confidence in Peyton Woodrend going forward in case this game comes down to that. Because we're gonna need him. We're gonna need him to to make some clutch kicks and if they're they're fifty, sixty yarders and and he can hit it, we need him to go up there with a clear mind and to do what he what he knows he can do and not think about what he can't do. because he can. really quick, a matchup assessment. Rather than pretending these are official like national special teams rankings, I'm just gonna look at like advantages, right? When you look at the unit on offense, you know, you look at Georgia, I kind of give offense an advantage to to to Georgia, even though Ole Miss's offense is very good. And I think the reason that is, is because what I think that Georgia can has the opportunity to do on the ground. And I think that's something that's that that That Ole Miss has been very susceptible to this year. defense, I think Georgia has the advantage. I think Ole Miss really kinda, you look at them and go, there's some areas in the key and key areas that continue to show up on the stat sheet every single week. I think special teams, Georgia may have a slight edge, although I think Ole Miss is still very, very good. so I I I I really I mean th you can't really you can't really say anything more than the fact of Both these teams have really great rosters. every team in this spot right here, this time of year, is playing for a whole lot. obviously, Ole Miss is looking to go. If we if we win this game, then we feel like we're more in control of our destiny than anything. But if they lose this game, they're gonna have to leave it up to somebody else. I don't think they want to do that. and Georgia obviously is like, look, down the stretch, you gotta go, you know, you got a home game against Missouri, you gotta go to South Carolina, you got Georgia Tech coming to you. They would like to know that they're not playing on their heels the rest of the year. This is a game they really need to come in and they really need to lock in and play. Before I get into college ball playoff rankings a little bit, pick these SEC games and give my final thoughts, I want to tell you after those keys to victory, one thing. You know, we have a fan base that, in my opinion, I've said this multiple times, but I know you want to see, like in your mind, you have this coaching mentality that when I look at this team, we're not doing enough on offense, or Kirby does Kirby doesn't have it together. These these guys didn't come to play today, or, our receivers need to get their crap together. And, Bobo can't call plays in this league, and he's never been able to call plays in this league, and so on and so forth. And I think those emotions are warranted, but I do I will tell you that I mentioned earlier, if you do go back and you watch that Florida game, I I challenge you to look and go, Gunner, Gunnar really did try to hit. some receivers that I think I think they would have came open. but the blitz was there. The offensive line, I think in the second half, allowed a little bit more some one on one, some wins here or there. And I think Gunner had to had to really kinda dip out of some of that stuff. And I agree with you, like running the football late late in the game like that and but but that in my opinion that's part of football and that just tells me that like I said, Georgia has immense respect and and trust in Ryan Baglisi if he had to come in. But what I was trying to get to is is, you know, this team is built to make a run this year. This team has everything that you need to go make a run and to win a national championship this year. I think the defense is is coming along very strongly. We have a much better defense than we did last year. And I think we're coming along very strong. I think what you saw us do to a Florida team that that is, let's get it out of our minds, that is a really good Florida team. It's a good team. That's a team that went on the road and beat Texas and beat this old miss team we're gonna play this weekend at home pretty handily. Okay. I think when you look at it, up twenty-four zero, pounding the rock and the ability to create turnovers and the ability to hold a team to Mean penalties are the only reason they scored, right? So you could have held this this Florida team who has scored upwards of fifty points in some of these victories against really good teams to eight points, and that was due to that was due to penalties, in my opinion. So I just think as a fan base, you know, I challenge you to look at this team a little bit differently than always going, Man, what are we doing? Why are we doing this? You know Even the questions of well, we're gonna have to pass the ball against really good teams. I would say we're playing a really good team on Saturday, and I would tell you the keys to victory are we're gonna have to run the ball. period. So I get what you're saying, but also like Kirby doesn't hear it. He doesn't care. Wins are what get coaches extensions, losses get you out. Get fan bases that turn off. good lord, if if Kirby was losing these games and Kirby was not meeting this damn like if he gets this on a on a on a a good week, God knows what he's gonna get if if if we have a bad week. So I would just tell you, like at the end of the day, like, be grateful, be thankful that you have a coach that you don't see the the small, minute details that go into game prep and week prep and team prep and mentality and NIL and these kids, they want to get an education, get an education and their help and the you know helping them get well and from injuries and just just the the layers of things that he has to do. they're not they're not always just about your agenda. And yet here he is sitting, he has his team and these players have us sitting at seven and one in the driver's seat for the SEC championship, as well as a really good opportunity to be a a a top seed in the college ball playoff. Okay, real quick, we're gonna hop into just dabble in a little bit this college football playoff. these results that came out on Tuesday. I went live on TikTok and talked a little bit about it. I will tell you right off the bat, these rankings they're wild, but they don't mean anything yet. there's a lot of football to be played. I even think maybe this is a little early for them to start doing this, but It's gonna change again next year. So it really doesn't matter. And there's no reason to even waste time to debate about it. if you look at it, you guys have looked at it. So I'm not gonna go one through twenty-five, but I will tell you some things that stand out. one of the biggest things that stood out to me was the fact that Alabama was ranked fifth with two losses, and then you have Tennessee down here with two losses, and that's a team that is that's thirteenth right now, and on the outside looking in, and they beat this Alabama team at home pretty handily. I think a lot of people have even have even said outside of, Georgia, that how does Georgia lose to Auburn and they're still sitting at, number two. And I would just tell you that once again, that's why these rankings don't mean a whole lot right now. There's a lot of football to be played. Miami's gonna be playing Notre Dame this weekend. Obviously, Georgia all miss. Utah's got a big game. Indiana's got a big game against Oregon. there's a lot of big games this weekend. Kentucky's playing Tennessee. There's gonna be some movement this this weekend. So hopefully the committee will see some of this and go, all right, with if with some of these wins and losses, we have the opportunity to maybe make this right. and I think they will. the shockers is is, you know, everybody talked about Notre Dame. I think Notre Dame's at eleven for two reasons. Number one, you know the rule if Notre Dame is twelve or higher. They're automatically in the college football playoff. I think the committee was like, look, we're going to put them at 11 because we feel like their strength of schedule and they feel like that teams they've played, a lot of BYU they lost to, and the rest of their schedule has not been that stout. Miami presents some increase in their schedule difficulty, but they also have them in a spot that if they lose to Miami, with them being eleven, they definitely drop out of the top. 12. And I really think with the competition they have left throughout the rest of the year, it will take a lot of things to go really, really, really wrong if they lose to Miami for Notre Dame to get in the playoff. I know that, you know, you don't like that answer if you're a Notre Dame fan, but I think that's what happened. So that stands out to me a ton. obviously you look at Ohio State, they would be the first team out because that first team in would be your Boise State team, which is kind of how I had it running. the only only difference in this Per se for me, I think is I actually think it's pretty pretty much the same. I I I'm trying to remember because I have it written down somewhere how I had it last week. Maybe I had Ohio State a little bit higher. This is pretty much how I had it. I had the outside teams looking in where teams to to to still be, concerned and consider is your Tennessee, your LSUs, Texas Tech still has a very good opportunity, although I don't think they can lose again. and I do think, I don't know, man. sleeper out there. If South Carolina wins out with three losses, where does that put them? Flo Oregon, they have a crazy way in, maybe. There's still a lot of SEC to be played, nine games. it's only gonna get weirder. And so I don't wanna stand on top of this too much, but you know, a lot of what people are talking about is the Alabama, Tennessee debacle and Yeah, that's wild. what's gonna generate some discussion is is, you know, Ole Miss at number 10, you know, with two losses. I I think maybe I think Ole Miss probably can be ranked a little bit higher if Alabama's gonna be ranked there, right? Georgia in a strong position, but the Auburn losses it sits on a lot of people's mind, right, right, to be that high. and then the SEC teams made the first college football playoff. I'm sorry, 10 SEC teams made the first college ball playoff top twenty-five. it's loaded with SEC. Loaded with SEC. let's talk really quick about what it would look like if it started today. so Georgia would be positioned in the first round by. Ole Miss would currently be in the field at number 10, but without a first round by, that makes Saturday especially important. You would you know, I I I think those two teams, but I think you're gonna look at, you know, a Miami team. let me just let me just kind of So Miami would be playing, Miami would have a bye, Georgia would have a bye, Utah would have a bye, and I guess Indiana would win the Big Ten. So that would mean Bama would play Boise State. and then Kentucky would be going against Notre Dame. I think Ole Miss would be going against Texas. That would be pretty interesting. UCLA would be going against that's like Notre Dame. I UCLO began to Notre Dame and then BY BYU against Old Miss, if it was all like that. But so much to come out of all that. So much to come out of. before we head into our picks, let's talk some hot takes for George, real quick. I think these are a couple of things I just want to kind of stew over the over the next few days as we lead up. I think Georgia's defense is the biggest reason the dogs are national championship contenders. is this the best defense Kirby's had in several years? I mean, does this does this defense this year hold a candle to the last two national championship defenses? I think I think they do. I think this secondary is elite. I think these linebackers are absolutely monsters. They're they're all aliens. And I think now the scary part is the defensive line is coming along and That whole thing about getting pressure with four is starting to become a a thing and we have depth over there and that makes this defense really, really scary. I think another another hot take of mine that needs to be really thought into is, you know, Gunnar Stockton needs to take another step. He's got to take another step. he's playing well enough to win a national championship, or or is he? Does Georgia need more from its quarterback? I trust coaches, I trust quarterbacks in November. I think a I think a third thing would be Mike Bobo needs to be aggressive. I think Georgia needs to attack Ole Miss. I think we need to establish the run, but I don't think we need to sleep on the vertical game. I think instead of trying to establish, I don't know, maybe an offense that doesn't lose. I think we need to be trying to establish an offense on Saturday that can win. will that hurt us? I don't know. I think the defense can put us in enough good situations to where If we can make Ole Miss, if we can make Ole Miss pay for anywhere from field position battles or turnovers or inabilities to sustain drives, that's gonna be huge. But the way we're gonna do that is number one, first establishing the run. But number two, not completely going to sleep on the vertical passing game. Another one I would tell you is is Ole Miss is a legitimate playoff threat. the r they are I mean, they might be being overlooked with two losses. I think this team is firmly capable. This is a borderline semifinal game coming up in the next few days. I mean, we're we're sitting here, yeah. We're getting to Thursday now. and the last thing I would tell you is is that Oxford's real. It's real. This is gonna be a place that we have to get over. Sometimes that ninety plus thousand in Tuscaloosa, it just feels a little bit like bigger and not on top of you. And then you got this 61,000 that it's like, why is this 61,000 as loud or more? It just feels like in Oxford, especially at at at Balt Hemingway, just feels like they're all all the fans are on top of. Okay. It's very close environment. it can be very electric and they're gonna make it electric. If you don't think Ole Miss and this fan base knows what's at hand, you're sadly mistaken. And so we're gonna have to be ready and we're gonna have to be mentally and physically prepared for a war. and I know I said last, but the last thing I'll say too is I mean maybe this Auburn loss does help George. I mean, I never thought I would say that, but you know, did it expose weaknesses that needed to be fixed before November? were we good enough in a in a NIL in an NIL era where players are maybe a little bit less to hold themselves accountable to look and go, man, no matter what, whether you're getting paid to play or not, you know, competitiveness comes into play all the time. It should. You shouldn't be playing if you don't love the if you don't love to compete. You really should. if you don't like to compete, playing the game of football, you shouldn't be playing. And so Maybe you look and go, I wouldn't expose these things wouldn't have been exposed and I wouldn't hold myself accountable for some of those mistakes if we don't. You hate to give an L up to get that way, but it feels like this Georgia team has either had a major scare or a major loss before some of these runs to finish out the season to have a really good season. And yes, I want to lean towards that, but I also do think that Auburn played had a really good game, and they played really good game. But I still don't know how the world Georgia lost to Auburn. I still don't know. all right. So we're gonna get ready and we're gonna we're gonna pick these SC games and we're gonna have our final thoughts. So I don't have my buddy Fish and my buddy Rich Man here tonight. So it's me flying solo dolo on the picks. But we're gonna make it interesting. I'm gonna give you a good array of information on each game, and I'll tell you who I got. So without any further ado, let's pick these games. All right, 12 ESPN Missouri has Texas coming to town. Texas right now a two and a half point favorite. These are both two teams, two losses, maybe fighting to stay away from that three loss bubble. I'm not saying that there's that there's, that three loss SEC team can't get in. I think you do get one or two in maybe. but you don't really want to thread that. You don't want to throw that needle. You you just want to be clean and you wanna you wanna just make sure and maximize the wins you can get. I think you really want to be no less than that two loss mark. but Missouri, you know, this is a noon game for Texas and and Missouri, they kind of know what to expect as far as noon kickoffs and playing a little bit behind. It's more like an eleven o'clock game on the East Coast. but Missouri comes in Obviously an underdog. Eli Drinkowicz feels like that he has a team that's meshing at the right time. Texas has a team that is starting to do the same. I think it's a it's a play on which team can continue the momentum and continue to have the I think they gotta have the heart. They gotta have the guts to know that they they want to win and succeed and get to the playoffs. they they can't afford to come out flat. And so, you know. Prep for this week is gonna be huge because you're talking about a early kick, you're talking about at Missouri, you're talking about an experience that is gonna be electric with Texas coming to town. And man, I think Missouri has what it takes to win, but I do think Texas is playing off a lot of energy and a lot of heart right now and knows they can't fall short again with this roster and Sarkeesian and Arch and You they got to put it together. They got to finish. And so I think this team gets it done. They go into Missouri. I think they get a win. But I will tell you that if Texas doesn't, you gotta figure that Sarkeesian is going to start to get some murmurs. I don't say a hot seat. I don't say he's gonna, you know, not be there next year, but you gotta you gotta understand, man, Texas is not gonna continue to field $40 and $50 million rosters and not make the college football playoffs. Better yet, the SEC championship and finish what they would think they had talent wise on paper as a top four seed in the college football playoff. But I think Texas goes in and wins this game. I think the ability to establish the run again will be huge. But also for Texas, I think they're fast enough, they're quick enough to be able to do some things with the horizontal passing game that Missouri does so well. They keep it at bay. I think Texas wins. I don't have a score for you, but I think they cover. I think Texas will will be somewhere in that seven point three to seven point mark. twelve forty-five, Arkansas heads into Auburn. Auburn is a ten point favorite in this game. Man, this is this is a huge game for these two teams. I'll tell you why. Number one, these are two coaches that are first year coaches, and one of these teams is in a situation where he can win. Another SEC contest and really just knock expectations out of the water in Arkansas. any wins that are added to their total this year will be just fuel for Arkansas to play off of in the recruiting battle. they're gonna have to get to go get great players in the offseason, but also to get confidence into this new head coach. And you know, I feel like that Arkansas is probably a little bit of A ways away from being really competitive in the SEC, but you have that feeling, Auburn, their fan base, their ability to, bring players to Auburn, a great place to play football, great college, great campus, a great tradition there. This is a big game that could see a lot of unwanted hype and things that could come to them if they drop this game. You don't want to hear those murmurs against first year Alex Golish. You want Auburn to continue to build. They've lost two straight. After the Georgia victory. But I do think Auburn gets it done. I don't think they're going to cover. I think this game will be sloppy. I think that Auburn will do everything they possibly can to keep Arkansas in this game somehow. I think they win. but you definitely don't want Alex Golers to be talked about with the L because I think he'll still get some I keep using the word murmurs, even if he doesn't cover in this game. But I do think Auburn does win this game and goes to five and four. To continue their season. Three o'clock, Tik St and heads to South Carolina. Man, this is probably one of the hottest teams in the SEC, man. Shane Beamer got South Carolina playing at a really high level. Dylan Stewart is has come back and he's done some really great things. Lenora Sellers had flashes last week of looking like one of the best quarterbacks on the SEC, but in the country. Everything you thought Lenora Sellers was gonna be doing in college football, he was doing last weekend. That's really good to see. Now, saying all that. I'm gonna very quick. I think Texas AM continues to blunder this year, even after a bye week. I think this is a a troubling game for AM. I think they go into South Carolina, they get sand manned out, they get it, they get a little dose of their own medicine to feel what the 12th man feels like at their stadium. I think South Carolina wins. I think South Carolina covered. pretty simple. 330. sorry, 415, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, man, Mississippi State's three point advantage. I don't know, man. This is the It's the weird bowl. The I don't want to call it the crap bowl, but three and five, Vandy. I mean, I would tell you that Mississippi State is having a really, really hard time moving the football without Lenore with without Camario Taylor. And I think Vanderbilt could keep this sloppily close. I do I still think I think Missouri need I think Mississippi State, sorry, needs this win much more than Vanderbilt. Do I think they get it? I think they do. Mainly because they're at home. Maybe because they get enough done on the offense in the run game against Vanderbilt. And the defense has just enough to to hold Jerry Curtis at bay. And I think I think Mississippi State gets it done at home. seven forty-five, Florida. Oklahoma, this is a six and a half point favorite for Florida. coming to the swamp is Oklahoma and Shees, man. Oklahoma really cannot afford to drop anymore. I mean, you look at Red River and you look at some of these other games and you look at these outcomes and you go, how long before Brett Benables really gets more conversation than kinda he's not getting, right? So In my opinion, I think Oklahoma needs it more. But then I think about Florida and I think about, the ups and downs they've had this year and big wins and then discouraging losses and then, you know it was the talk was, you know, is Aaron Philo a little tweaked up? Is Tremel Jones a little tweaked? Which quarterback goes? I think Tremel Jones probably is and then again, I don't know, man, did Philo get pulled a little early against Georgia? I mean Eric Singleton catches that pass. I I don't know if yeah, he made one terrible, absolutely terrible read in in chunking the ball up in the air, but I think the throw that Singleton missed was on the money, it was an NFL throw. but I still think you see Tremel Jones start this game. I think it's what can give Oklahoma fits. But I just don't think Oklahoma I mean, in it'll be enough offense if they if if Florida can't put together what what Georgia was able to and mean O Oklahoma's gonna have pretty much the same game plan. They're gonna come after they're gonna come after these quarterbacks for Florida and make them beat them in the air and they're gonna make Jaden Baugh earn every single yard. But I think if Jaden Baugh has a really good game and I think he will have a really good game against Oklahoma, I I think Florida wins. I'm gonna give it to Florida. I think they win. Maybe don't cover though. I think it's a three, four point game, a twenty eight, twenty four type game, something like that. But that's where I see that going down. 615, Kentucky, number six, Kentucky has it to Tennessee. Tennessee right now a six and a half point favorite against Kentucky. Is is anybody ever gonna learn that Kentucky's real this year? I don't know that Kentucky's real this year, but does Kentucky actually show some human qualities this time on Saturday? it's a tough one, man. but I like Tennessee's defense. I think at home defense for Tennessee. I think they can run the ball enough. And I do think Tennessee beats Kentucky. That is my that is my, I don't know what you want to call it, dumb and dumber per se. or your Thanksgiving holiday upset, alert. Tennessee, I think beats Kentucky at home. I don't think they cover again, man. I think this is a very close game. I think this could come down to maybe even, some OT that doesn't go Kentucky's way. Everything's gone Kentucky's way in overtime. And maybe it doesn't go their way this time. But I do think I do think Tennessee beats Kentucky this weekend. 330, Alabama LSU. This is another game that two teams, you have that feeling that whatever team loses, they have to rely on help to get them into the playoff. it's This is a this is a tough game. It's at LSU at Death Valley. It's a 330 game. Probably saves, probably saves Alabama a lot from a night game in Death Valley, but I think LSU gets this game done. I think LSU has seen the writing on the wall. They've seen the 0 and 5, Lane Kippen versus Alabama. I think LSU has what it takes. The big difference will be can LSU play clean ball? If it turns out that they're going to swap interceptions. They're not they're going to cause turnovers but give it back to them. If they don't win the turnover battle, this is not going to go well for them. if if Levitt doesn't protect the football, it's not going to go well for them. This has to be a clean game by LSU. And I know you probably say, well, isn't that every team? Well, yes, but especially this game, because I think LSU wins pretty easily if they don't turn the football over and they don't play the the stupid game by looking sitting there and going, all right, like I'm I got a ten point lead. I'm sitting here, am I just forcing these throws? Am I running the score up? Am I doing some lane kiffing crap that might get me out of the goal that I want, which is a win and just however you get it? It doesn't have to be pretty however you get it, because I think the team that wins this game has a pretty bright future to possibly definitely make the college football playoff. Now, for Alabama, they probably need to win it just to stamp the approval of the college football playoff committee at five. I still think they're too high. But I think it will do a lot for LSU to get them into the talks. and I think L S U if they win will move really high up. Because I think if you have Alabama there, you gotta have LSU there, right? Who knows? 'Cause nobody knows what this play off playoff committee's thinking of that nature. So but yeah, give me L S U. I think L S U wins and I think it could be a crazy one. I think it'd be a barn burner. And then you have the Georgia game. Georgia Ole Miss 730 ABC, Oxford, Mississippi, Vault Hemingway Stadium, Georgia right now, as we sit here and speak, three and a half point favorites. I talked about the keys to victory, and I will reiterate the two main things. I'll give you one on offense, the second one on defense. Number one on offense, Georgia has to establish the run and has to control the tempo of this game. The the best way to control Trinidad Chambless is to keep him off the field. Georgia has to run the football. They have to. That will open up play action. That will open up the pass. And that will lean towards what's going to make them successful, not only winning this game, but winning it in big fashion like they did against Florida. Now, choose to turn the ball over a little bit. We choose to not get out and establish the run and have to rely on either getting behind or throwing the football and doing some things of that nature, it gets interesting. Control the foot control the game, run the football, and then lean on the ability to have Ole Miss react to that so you can extend the passing game after that. Defensive wise, you have to play disciplined football against Trinidad Champless. You have to, he has a bad game, Ole Miss has a bad game. So you're gonna have to you're gonna have to control the pocket. You're gonna have to make him uncomfortable. And you're gonna have to not give him big plays. You're gonna have to get him on the ground. Not get to him, get him on the ground. So that's my keys to victory. I have Georgia winning this game. I think I think they go into Vault Hemningway, I think they win. and I have them I have them seven points. I think somewhere in that twenty seven twenty range, I can see this game going. but it's a win. I I don't know what weather looks like, but I know what weather's played. last few weeks, but so I hope it's good weather because I want both of these teams to be at full strength so we can really see what can go on and what I think is a semifinal matchup for the college ball playoff. And these teams can play again. I don't know. I haven't really looked at it the what ifs, but you just never know. And we talked about Georgia and Alabama possible meeting again. We talked about, you know, what if, you know, Georgia all miss. Who knows? But I will tell you this, this will be a semifinal type game. So it's gonna be a good one. I I can't wait. it's also a night game. And so you got the whole day to sit there and watch college football and get primed up and get ready and cheer on Georgia. And last night game against Alabama boated pretty well for us. But final thoughts tonight. I feel like this team is poised for a win. I feel good about this weekend. I feel good about this defense and preparation, how Georgia and Kirby Smart have prepared for games this year. And I feel like preparation and you know, No Lane Kiffin. the team last year was a little bit different. I would say that. I just don't think that Ole Miss has as many playmakers around them as it did last year, especially on the defensive side the ball. And it doesn't help that you're not going to have Keywon Lacey. So I'm looking forward to the game, looking forward to a great weekend. heading towards the holidays, man, it feels it's weird. We're already, we're already five, six days into November. It feels surreal. But hope you guys have a great rest of your week. Hope you guys have a great weekend cheering on the dogs. And hopefully we're back here on Monday with our recap show talking about a victory and moving on in prep for the next SEC game. But until then, you guys have a great weekend. As always on Dogs Down South, Go Dogs.
