- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Texanville Jaguars fans, welcome in to do all daily presented by jing Jack.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Luga, thanks so much for being here.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: Monday, February, second.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it is, February, are already absolutely crazy.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: Also, pretty big game this weekend.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll talk about that a little bit later, but Jaguars, as we all know, it's like, it's mock draft season, it's free agency season,
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's a season to talk about different prospects, to talk about different possibilities.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: That's where we're at.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately, the Jaguars are not playing this Sunday.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they could be, I think that they probably should be, but they're not, they did not beat the bills.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's where we're at, bottom line, end of story point blank period.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: But fortunately for the Jack Wars, it's not the end of the story with Liam Cohen, James Gladstone, Tony Vicelli, Trevor Lawrence in company.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they've got many bright years ahead of them.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: Very excited for that.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: One factor that will help determine just how bright the future is is the draft obviously and ESPN just dropped a new two round mock draft Matt Miller of ESPN put this together and I'll go ahead and just tell you right now I don't think the Jaguar's pick makes a lot of sense You can try to rationalize it.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: You can try to say this or that but overall it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to dive into it and then look at the players that were selected just after
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: the Jaguars made their pick and kind of talk about.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's some players that make a lot more sense for the Jaguars with this pick at 56 overall.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's their first pick right now.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: And look, I would not be surprised at all if the Jaguars are not picking at 50s.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: In fact,
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: I would be more surprised if the Jaguar is pick at 56 and if they don't.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't be surprised if they trade up from that spot.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't be surprised if they trade down a little bit from that spot.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, I think that James Latson is going to be trying to move it and shake it during the 26th NFL draft as he is like to do.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: So, uh, really appreciate you all tuning in.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: You can also check out jingyak.com, pick up some new dooval gear like the hat I'm wearing right now.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, these
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: on the site, jingag.com, really appreciate you.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'll be in here supporting what we're doing.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: So with the 56 overall pick, the Jaguar Select cannot taste God, corner back out of Miami, and this is what Matt Miller has to say.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: Scott is an electric slot corner with elite litzing skills and speed to close on the ball.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's smart and instinctual in coverage, pairing him with Travis Hunter next season would be fun.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a big, big fan of Kianta Scott.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he's that guy.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to do a lot of great things in the NFL.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't know how that fits with the Jaguars.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: I really, really don't.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: Two of the Jaguars three best corners.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: Our slot players, primarily, and they are very good at what they do, very good.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: That is, you know, Jordan Lewis and and Jarian Jones.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: And I, so if you're trying to rationalize this pick.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: very good player, absolutely.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: There is some versatility to be a pseudo nickel slash safety.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: There's that, but like if you're talking about nickels and safety's on this team, I think that's one of the deepest areas of the team at this moment.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: Again, Jarian Jones and Jordan Lewis are both
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: You have Eric Murray, who is going to start for the Jaguars this year.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: You have Antonio Johnson, probably going to start for the Jaguars this year.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: And Caleb Ransal, coming off of a injury a season in which he missed his rookie year, but they are extremely high on him and they should be based on the way he played throughout the off season in training camp before he got injured.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: And Ray on Lane, who played really well.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like all these guys, like it's a little redundant, it's all I'm saying.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I say a little, it's extremely redundant in my opinion.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: You're four deep at safety right now.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: You're two deep at nickel.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: And all those players are good.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: They're good players.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: So how does Kianta Scott fit in here?
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: Why would you go this direction?
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: trying not to be too harsh on this pick.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: And look, I get it in a vacuum, like what he says.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: Perink County Scott, who can roam the middle with Travis Hunter, that could be a very exciting duo in the secondary.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that is objectively true, but it's also objectively true that the Jaguars have much more pressing needs.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: Nickel slash safety is not a position in which you're just like Let's take this guy even though we have guys that we have plans with It's just not And look, yes, it's fair to say Jordan Lewis is Up there in age Sure Right, Jordan Lewis is up there in age But he ain't going anywhere And he is coming off a foot injury
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: Right, but they love this guy and for good reason.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: He's under contract through 2027.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: Jarring Jones.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think as a player, they're gonna wanna bring back here.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: Whenever his rookie deal is expired, but I mean, he's coming off his second year in the league.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: He's under contract through 2027 as well.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like, what are we doing?
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't get it.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't, but, you know, this, we'll talk a little bit more about it.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: But first, got our mind y'all about underdog.

- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: Head-to-head team matchups, which is really cool.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think the C-hawks are gonna take care of business.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm looking at Sam Donald, go higher on passing yards, 230.5, that number is actually moving a little bit.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: Jackson Smith and Jigba, higher than half a rushing or receiving touchdown.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: And again, I do like the C-hawks in this game.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: So just go check out underdog.

- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: So, back to this, Kianta Scott Pick.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: What are we doing?
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: Taking a nickel at 56.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: When you have nickel players that are really good.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: and this has nothing to do with the player who I think is a good player, but just look at some of the picks that are made after this.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: Right now, Jadarian Price, running back out of Notre Dame.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: He's incredibly explosive.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: He's a great, great back.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars, I mean, you could certainly make the argument that they have more of a need at running back than they do at Nickel.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: How about Gabiakis out of Illinois who, to me, is not a super refined, fast-rusher, but he is a freak show.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: You talk about adding him to your edge group.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that sounds like a good deal to me.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: How about Jacob Rodriguez at a Texas Tech who we have talked about a ton ends up going to the Los Angeles Rams, a team that, you know, you kind of are in the mold of a little bit.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm locked Jacob Rodriguez to the Jaguar last week.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: All these picks would make more sense for the Jaguars.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: All of them.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: Even these receivers that go.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: Chris Bell, why do you see Raluville to the Denver Broncos?
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: If the Jaguars wanted to take a little bit of a swing on a super town to guy coming off of an ACL tier, Chris Bell, at 220 pounds, I think is the most electric athlete at receiver in this draft.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to go too far here.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: He might be right there with Jordan Tyson.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's a freak.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: He's an absolute freak show.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: And the cool thing about bringing in Chris Bell, in the second round, there's not a lot of pressure.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to come in and immediately be this star.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: You're coming off the ACL chair, which I believe was in November.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: So this is a future pick, but I would love to see that.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to see Elijah Sarat, who goes to the New England Patriots.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think Sarat, his skill set is so complimentary of what the Jaguars are looking for.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: such a good player.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: If you've been paying attention, the last pick here in the second round is Chase Basantis and I love that pick.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: To the C-Hawks, I would much rather take Chase Basantis at 56 than a nickel corner.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: Basantis is a really good player.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's athletic.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to help in the run game and the past game.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: He's an aggressive player at 6-5-3-15.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: got the snatch trap down, he moves incredibly well.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: I just cannot fathom taking a slot corner slash safety hybrid type of player in this spot for the Jaguars, cannot see it.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: And so, you know, I'm not trying to just bury Matt Miller all the time, but this pick does not make sense to me.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: In any way, shape or form.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: even though I think he's gonna be a good player.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't know how he really helps the Jaguars.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: Look, you can argue well, you don't wanna just hold your team back by not upgrading your talent at certain spots, even though you've got players there.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: Jarring Jones and Jordan Lewis and my opinion are two of the best nickels in the game right now.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: Barnau.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: Antonio Johnson was the highest rated safety in the game last year, according to PFF.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: And he played great.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: Eric Murray played very well.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: Ring on laneplay very well, and you have Kayla Branson coming back.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: This does not make sense.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: They do not need that, and I don't think it would really even make them better because they've got really good players in those spots.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: God, Lee, man.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: Give me fired up on Monday.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that'll do it here.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: Just had to check in on the CSV and mock draft, which, of course, leaves me with a sour taste.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what you think in the comment section below.
