- 0:06This is the AST Space Mobile podcast and we just basically
- 0:11turn the phone be seamless, regardless of where you are.
- 0:15We don't want the user even to know that it's connected by
- 0:17satellite. Listen, the opportunity that we
- 0:22have is very, very, very large. Large.
- 0:27What is going on Space Mob? Welcome to the Space Mob launch
- 0:32party stream. Very, very excited to be here.
- 0:35Shout out to everyone on Spaces. Right now we're trying our best
- 0:38to get this up on YouTube. It's being a little slow.
- 0:40We might need to make a new stream here.
- 0:44I have Catsy and Antpen in here also as speakers if you guys
- 0:48want to say what's up and intro yourself and I'll get this up
- 0:51and running on YouTube. Hey everyone.
- 0:55What an exciting living. Hey, Cathy.
- 0:57For the expand, hi. What time is it in Sweden?
- 1:03It's U 233, it's middle of the night.
- 1:09Oh boy, did you? Were you able to take a nap?
- 1:11Today. No, I I sort of stayed up late
- 1:18yesterday to prepare for this. Yeah.
- 1:21Shifted my day a bit. Right.
- 1:26Yeah, so exciting. Looking forward to the launch
- 1:29finally, right? Yeah, yeah, it's it kind of
- 1:33didn't hit me until later in the afternoon that this was coming
- 1:37in. I guess it's a bit different the
- 1:39feeling, unlike the previous launches where, you know, the
- 1:44Blue Walker 3 or Block One launch, it's kind of A1 and done
- 1:48at least for a while, whereas this one is going to kick off,
- 1:53you know, a number of watches. So.
- 1:55So this is exciting. And another satellite on its way
- 2:03to Cape. Yeah.
- 2:05Kathy, are you listening to something I think I can hear in
- 2:07the background and. There's obviously a lot more.
- 2:12I was preparing to be able to crank up audio from the live
- 2:17cost right so got this sound set up.
- 2:23For that, yeah, I think I guess for everyone, we're just going
- 2:29to chat, but then try to stay out of the way of the ACT space,
- 2:33Mobile, YouTube. I'm assuming that they'll do
- 2:37something similar to Block 1 where they'll have to host.
- 2:40And then there's probably going to be some new content of the
- 2:43release, educational overviews and perhaps some videos of of
- 2:50producing Bluebirds and and then maybe some videos on what the
- 2:54deployment might look like. We will see.
- 2:56I have no idea, but I remember the last time when we were down
- 3:00in Florida, they had a ton of different, you know, production
- 3:04videos, which was great. And so I'm looking forward to
- 3:07seeing what they unveil this evening.
- 3:11We'll see. But anyway, Kathy, how did, how
- 3:21did you, I guess over the course of today, how did you prepare,
- 3:25if at all for this launch mentally?
- 3:30I did some probability calculations.
- 3:34That's right. Yeah.
- 3:36I saw that. Right, try and figure out what
- 3:39the failure probability was. I don't know the the takeaways
- 3:48that were no longer dependent on a single launch for the future
- 3:54of the company. Like arguably we were with the
- 3:58flu Walker three, if that would have failed, it would be fatal
- 4:01perhaps for the company. But now it's some 45 to 60
- 4:07satellites going up within the year.
- 4:08And then what happens to a single launch is it can't be
- 4:16fatal really. Yeah.
- 4:21And for the probability calculations, both New Glen and
- 4:27this Indian launcher LBM three, they are of a rare breed that
- 4:32was successful in the first launch.
- 4:36And if you look at those, then they often end up in the 95 or
- 4:45better class of reliable launchers, right?
- 4:50And when they're off to a good start, it often continues in
- 4:53that that way. But so LVM has had seven
- 4:58successful launches thus far that were orbital launches.
- 5:06And. That math I arrived at the
- 5:12failure probability of perhaps 6% for this launch.
- 5:19Well, those odds are good. Yeah, they are.
- 5:22They are. I I kind of joke that Pivotal
- 5:25Capital, this short seller, he's always like the Contra signal.
- 5:29And today he put out a negative video of of a rocket blowing up.
- 5:34And so I think he just blessed us with a a successful watch.
- 5:39Yeah. But I guess just to prepare, you
- 5:44know, things can and do go wrong.
- 5:45And so I think everybody should be mentally prepared for that
- 5:48just in case whether there's like a potential anomaly with
- 5:53the rocket, but also deployment of the satellite as well or the
- 5:57unfolding. But then as you meant before,
- 5:59the great thing is that we are at the beginning of a launch
- 6:02campaign. And so after this one, we'll
- 6:05have Bluebird 7 go up either on a Falcon 9 or I think some of us
- 6:12believe that Blue Origin, New Glen, the, the launch in January
- 6:16will will take up that single satellite.
- 6:18And then after that, we're going to have at a minimum 2 Falcon 9
- 6:23launches with three Bluebirds each probably going up sometime
- 6:27in February. And then after that, I think
- 6:30we'll start to see the Blue, Blue Origin, New Glen take
- 6:35initially, which I think they're going to ease into it, but
- 6:38they're going to take up 6, six of them and then eventually once
- 6:43they optimize the vehicle, get up to approximately 8.
- 6:49Yeah, there will be an enormous capacity increase compared to
- 6:54one of these single satellites going to 520 kilometers
- 7:01altitude. When you put an ASIC up at 690
- 7:05and not just one but but six or eight, that's quite an enormous
- 7:10capacity increase and value because well, the ASIC is in
- 7:15itself on 3.3 time increase of throughput.
- 7:22And up there there's the longevity of higher orbit, the
- 7:28well time increases, so 10 years or more, whereas you expect five
- 7:36to seven years on 520 kilometers.
- 7:39So much more capacity and much more value in those later
- 7:45launches compared to this one. Yeah, it, it'll be interesting
- 7:52to see what combination of Falcon 9 and Blue Origin New
- 7:57Glen they use over the course of 2026.
- 8:00Now, obviously it was extraordinary that that New Glen
- 8:04was able to land their booster. And now, you know, we went from
- 8:09this, this state of, of yeah, I think people are somewhat
- 8:14skeptical to now, you know, then I think over optimism around
- 8:19Blue Origin, New Glenn, which at which, you know, rightfully so.
- 8:23It'll be interesting to see how quickly and you know what type
- 8:27of cadence they can build over the course of 2026.
- 8:32Yeah, definitely. Oh, our host is back, I think.
- 8:43Yeah, I think that is a YouTube up.
- 8:45I'm not sure if it is. Yeah, my bad everybody.
- 8:49I'm getting the YouTube up. I'm just, I had to like
- 8:52reconnect the full configuration.
- 8:54So that will be up momentarily. I appreciate you guys kind of
- 8:58taking over while I do this. It should be about 5 minutes.
- 9:00I just got him to connect. I just got to change the title.
- 9:02Thank you. Appreciate it guys.
- 9:05Thanks for hosting. I know this is this can be
- 9:08stressful. I I actually don't know how.
- 9:11You do, Spacey. I got became, I figured I became
- 9:15an audio engineer this week. Yeah.
- 9:18And just I I finally had it. I just need to get the title
- 9:23changed because it was like some crazy, crazy title.
- 9:26So let's try here and then we should be good to go.
- 9:29So you're going to give up the YouTube?
- 9:33I'm still going to try, I believe.
- 9:41I'm just turning it back on on. X the video.
- 9:45Hey, Tut's back. Tut's here.
- 9:47Hey keep it does it that you are in the item up.
- 9:52Hey, how's it going? Hi, good.
- 9:56Where are you right now? You're like.
- 9:58Just in time, I think. I think we're we're steady
- 10:00going. Where?
- 10:03Where are you right now, Tut? Somewhere in the world.
- 10:07OK. So it's quite.
- 10:08Early though, it's like 5:40 AM. Oh nice.
- 10:12Playing an all nighter. I think, I think Kook is out
- 10:16there too somewhere. So how did you spend your day
- 10:24preparing mentally or did you just not think about it at all?
- 10:28Not thinking about at all. Honestly, it's been been an
- 10:31exciting day, so hopefully it all goes goes smoothly.
- 10:36I saw catchy. Had a thread about the launch in
- 10:41Israel, so that's 6%. I'm going to count it as 0.
- 10:46It all goes smoothly today. Yeah, I pulled out the my model,
- 10:55my LVM 3. It's a good luck charm.
- 10:58I'm I'm rubbing the belly of this rocket.
- 11:00So were you able to pick up a Doctor Pepper diet Doctor Pepper
- 11:09diet Doctor Pepper. OK, yeah, going to watch your,
- 11:12your figure you're to say. Yeah, it'll be interesting to
- 11:20see, as I was mentioning before, when the company I I'm assuming
- 11:26they're going to have like some interviews with, with strategic
- 11:29partners and some, some videos about about the mission and of
- 11:35course the satellite. So it'll be interesting to see
- 11:37what they release this evening. But yeah, I think everybody's
- 11:46nervous and anxiously awaiting the launch.
- 11:49Yeah, right now I I have the stream going but I do not have
- 11:54the audio on YouTube. So just bear with me then we
- 11:56should be good. Well.
- 12:02We're all here in spaces, so. So kind of on YouTube, right?
- 12:06So kind of yeah, it's it's on there.
- 12:09I just need to get the audio pumped in.
- 12:12Not very good at OBS, but since kind of we're all here and, and,
- 12:18and so kind of want to hear you guys thoughts.
- 12:21What do you think? Like obviously this kind of will
- 12:23unlock a lot for AST. I'm kind of, as we go through
- 12:27these launches, we see more opportunities to expand.
- 12:29And I, I think that's just something we can kind of touch
- 12:32on and it's kind of what's coming next because obviously
- 12:34we've waited a while and now that these satellites are up,
- 12:37it's kind of gets exciting from here.
- 12:42Yeah, Steve Larrison, he once said that launch is not an
- 12:47event, it's a process. It's so we won't to get instant
- 12:52feedback. If everything is successful,
- 12:54there will be a time of deployment and then taking
- 13:01things slowly to get the satellite working.
- 13:08So yeah, yes, this set. Well, I'm hoping.
- 13:12For is that they're going to give us the other.
- 13:14By the way, hello everyone. That we're going to.
- 13:17Get the 2TTC. TTMC part for Notion.
- 13:22I think that's the best thing we can hope tonight is that we have
- 13:25a live bird with a word connection.
- 13:31Yeah, they'll tell us if there is an orbital insertion that's
- 13:36successful. And then of course if
- 13:40telemetry's up, we might get to wait a a day or two for that.
- 13:46And if the first like this, sorry.
- 13:52Oh yeah. So you know, a bit of a lie.
- 13:53I I personally got silly high expectations as well because as
- 13:57you know, this is a military motion.
- 13:59You have rest the air and say, oh, that's you.
- 14:03You know, everything's going as it twice, building out, getting
- 14:08the importance. In the mission, this isn't you.
- 14:10Now you're running a telecommunication satellite.
- 14:19Yeah, it's going to. It's likely how you satellite,
- 14:22right and the two firsts. I might miss connection.
- 14:27I'm about to go on a tram route in the Blue Mountains and so
- 14:30it's a question of cell phone connectivity as I go down a
- 14:34mountainside. So I might lose everyone, in
- 14:36which case I'll see everyone on the other side.
- 14:40Thanks for dropping by. But yeah, I think someone did
- 14:44ask me before about what to expect this evening.
- 14:47And so as Kathy mentioned, launch is a process.
- 14:52It's not an event. And so once the once the
- 14:55satellite is inserted into orbit, it's going to take the
- 14:59company some time to detumble it and get in the right spot.
- 15:03And then I would think, and I forget exactly how long it took
- 15:07block one, but it, it's going to take several days, perhaps weeks
- 15:12to, you know, turn on satellite, run diagnostics.
- 15:16And then at the right time, you know, just to give you an
- 15:19example, if you had solar flares or certain conditions, you
- 15:23wouldn't want to unfold the satellite, if there's any
- 15:27probability that perhaps that might impact the, the unfolding
- 15:31process. And so you would wait until the
- 15:33most optimal time, you know, the batteries are charged and
- 15:36everything's ready to go and diagnostics look good.
- 15:39And then you would unfold the satellite.
- 15:41And then my guess is, you know, it's not as if the company's
- 15:43going to say, hey, we're going to unfold the satellite a day
- 15:46from now. They're actually going to unfold
- 15:48it and make sure everything's successful.
- 15:51And then they'll PR it at some point, probably a day or two
- 15:54after, which is what they did previously.
- 15:58But Cassie, I, I don't know if you had any additional thoughts
- 16:00on that, that part. So the first Blue Walker free
- 16:06took some two months before was fully deployed and then block 1
- 16:13some six weeks. I'm hoping for four weeks this
- 16:17time total. I'm going through the stages you
- 16:22mentioned because now they have a more fully developed ground
- 16:28network looking up, you know, more telemetry stations, more
- 16:34more gateways. So they'll be able to step
- 16:43forward in a faster way through those stages.
- 16:46I think and hope I I remember about Avalon, he actually
- 16:53replied to me when Blue Walker 3 was launched that it was
- 16:57thermally stable. I'm going to check what that was
- 17:02so. So it looks like we're all good.
- 17:07If you guys can hear me, we're up running on YouTube and all
- 17:10we'll have the the stream ready to be watched on video on
- 17:13YouTube and on X and what is kind of kick it in the spaces
- 17:17here. I did want to show a high video.
- 17:20This was made by red rum and pan posted it and I think it's just
- 17:26something that we should all just sit back and watch.
- 17:28So if you don't see the video, I know it's kind of tough on
- 17:31spaces, but it is on my X page right now and it will also be on
- 17:37YouTube. But yeah, well, let's sit, sit
- 17:38back and watch this this hype video and get ready for long.
- 17:44Yeah, so I, I checked the Blue Walker three.
- 17:48It was launched on the 10th of September and in 2022.
- 17:53And two days later Abel tweeted that it was communicating with
- 18:00ground station and was thermally stable.
- 18:04So it was a 2 day delay there. No, hopefully you guys can see
- 18:18that video. I know like in the spaces it can
- 18:19be confusing with the video, but once we do have launch, I will
- 18:22kind of like show with my phone and also input that audio there.
- 18:26So I had like kind of list of other topics I want to talk
- 18:29about while we're all kind of here.
- 18:31So I guess since we, we do kind of have the, some of the legends
- 18:36here kind of want to hear from each of you kind of like just
- 18:39one by one and Pantuck Cook and Kathy.
- 18:42So like in just a few sentences, what was really like the moment
- 18:47that made AST kind of click for you?
- 18:49And like, what made you really want to like pursue this?
- 18:53Cause like looking back, like we've all been doing this like 4
- 18:56or so years and looking back, it's like this has kind of been
- 18:59a hobby that has kind of like turned into something that is
- 19:03changing life and like changing our own and something that we
- 19:07obviously like think about all day every day.
- 19:09And I think it's something really special here.
- 19:11So I just want to hear kind of what made it really kind of
- 19:14quite click for you guys and kind of made you take this path
- 19:17of like nose diving fully deep. We can start with Kook.
- 19:23Yeah, I'll shoot versus Steve I'm gonna have to blow up.
- 19:25Thanks for moving speak up alright, I it was applies to an
- 19:29Apple the history of several companies to Nevada there and so
- 19:33you know pro status for a little the night they announced the
- 19:37stock there I was bad looking for Rouzen Spurratus wouldn't be
- 19:40another background satellite temperance and what I saw that
- 19:43we assumed begin this year was less than technical innovation,
- 19:48but the promotional innovation repeated to a regular super
- 19:51tossa metal and I felt like that would be the fur they all know
- 19:54that it would surprise them out there and so all other devils
- 19:58had had plus 10 Vansart. It's been introduced to typical
- 20:03challenge of pressing acquisition.
- 20:05Press until you have to power out of your segues.
- 20:08And each of these trial and vendors were verified protein
- 20:11which are none of them are built in their lampas they're all open
- 20:15and to avoid with what the tech allowed was frictionless ability
- 20:20to venous disorders open on our start running.
- 20:24We do M&L is we avoided the casual act of different costs of
- 20:27a path met some new rose. The critical insight the company
- 20:32had that allowed for it to be an honestly scalable her true bench
- 20:38set up for the you know really the title of the bad thirst is
- 20:40it set it set itself up burn the Napoli up.
- 20:43Well that's good. We need to believe that we you
- 20:46know lined up this century that could do you know whatever
- 20:50turned out company and also very rare.
- 20:52I've never known those myself, but I'm close enough to have a
- 20:56taste for. So like when I saw this one
- 20:58night out about like if it's cover off the ball and this
- 21:01morning, yeah, sort of the other person.
- 21:10That was a really good response man.
- 21:13Appreciate all the work to do. I think a lot of us have really
- 21:16caught on to this through you and it kind of keeps the DD
- 21:19fresh. So how about you, Anthony?
- 21:26Well, I mean, yeah, I, I guess just, I, I came across ASD Space
- 21:34Mobile by already owning, you know, a position in, in NPA.
- 21:39And so it was kind of, it was kind of, I guess fate that this
- 21:43company fell into my lap. And as I dug into it and learned
- 21:46more and saw this strategic packing and I guess your
- 21:51thought, thought about the, the technology and how it could
- 21:54transform connectivity by using unmodified phones, that that's
- 21:59what really, you know, hooked me.
- 22:01And so initially though, it was, you know, it was a trade.
- 22:05I, I was invested and, and I put together an overview of the
- 22:11investment just to see if I could get traction with other
- 22:13people. But over time, as I dug in more
- 22:17and, and obviously the, the first, the first real kind of
- 22:21aha moment was speaking with a bell in April of 2021.
- 22:25And I that was a, that was a meeting where I typed up my
- 22:29notes and, and posted on Reddit. But that meeting and just just
- 22:34talking with the bell and and hearing his passion and his
- 22:37conviction about the technology and what it could do to lift,
- 22:43you know, to connect the unconnected and lift many out of
- 22:45poverty. I mean, that was the key mission
- 22:47back then. And so, yeah, for me, that was
- 22:50that was the real hook. And but I think over over time,
- 22:54I wouldn't have stayed in this investment or had the conviction
- 22:57if it weren't for the community. And so as Kathy mentioned, Steve
- 23:01Larrison, of course, Katsy Kook Tut, many, many others who I see
- 23:07down in the audience below. But yeah, if it wasn't for this,
- 23:11this community and, and friendships, I wouldn't have had
- 23:15the conviction to stay in it. And and I think, you know,
- 23:18there's this connection with people who have invested, but
- 23:22also with the company you don't have relationships with.
- 23:24So the management teams and we've gone through ups and downs
- 23:28in terms of me being an investor being disappointed them or being
- 23:32happy with what they've done. But I think just having been
- 23:37there so early because, you know, the company typically at
- 23:40this stage would not be public, but essentially having a a
- 23:45venture investment in this company and kind of seeing it
- 23:47through thick and thin over 2021222324 and to see it come to
- 23:53this point. Yeah, it's, it's part of my life
- 23:55at this point. It's, I was thinking about today
- 23:57how I've known the company and been invested for five years and
- 24:03it's almost like another child, which is kind of crazy because I
- 24:05spent so much time talking about ASD space mobile and, and doing
- 24:09things around the investment and, you know, promoting it, but
- 24:13also obviously, you know, connecting with people.
- 24:17I've made so many friends in real life in the community.
- 24:20And so, so yeah, it's, it's, it's something special.
- 24:23It's not just an investment. It's not just a hobby.
- 24:27I'm not sure what to call it but but yeah, that's that's I guess
- 24:30that's a background for me. Awesome.
- 24:36Thank you so much. Really appreciate it Tut and
- 24:40love to hear kind of withdrawn you this way.
- 24:44Yeah, so I came across it when this bag deal was announced.
- 24:48I think Ann and Cook were posting about it regularly.
- 24:52Didn't have like really much of the big position back then.
- 24:57Throughout 2021, kind of followed the story along and
- 25:00then obviously 2022 the market had a big downturn.
- 25:04I kept following along. Blue Walker 3, the launch was
- 25:08successful and in early 2023, it's kind of like when I fell in
- 25:12the rabbit hole and seeing all the due diligence that was
- 25:17posted by Steve Larrison, by Kook, by Anpan, by Catsy was
- 25:22very eye opening. And having travelled a lot all
- 25:26over Africa, Asia and South America, understanding the
- 25:31importance of connectivity and the death spots and dead zones
- 25:35all over. And that's kind of part of this
- 25:37thesis for my investment is a lot of people are looking at it
- 25:41one-dimensional, just focusing on the US mortgage or Europe.
- 25:45Obviously those are most commercial lucrative, but at the
- 25:49same time say like 80% or more of the world really needed just
- 25:55for day-to-day connectivity across different parts.
- 26:00So I've been following along and seeing how the thesis has kind
- 26:04of evolved with the launch of Block 1 and the continuous
- 26:07validation of the technology and the amount of bears that is
- 26:11continued to bash the stock with our friend and for many others.
- 26:15I think that has kind of like just made my conviction even
- 26:19stronger. And as Ampan said, like this
- 26:21wouldn't have been possible without every single person in
- 26:25this space mob, every single person in the spaces as a whole.
- 26:28It's it's truly something something special.
- 26:37Wow, that was that. That was very powerful.
- 26:39Man here hearing kind of like all your stories combined at the
- 26:43same time is, is super, super cool now that we're all kind of
- 26:46here together. And like reflecting back, it's
- 26:48like back when you were talking about this in 2021, people were
- 26:52just saying, this is a PowerPoint.
- 26:54This will never amount to anything.
- 26:56But we knew, we knew who was invested.
- 26:58We knew these big companies knew what they were getting behind.
- 27:01And we ultimately trusted the process.
- 27:03And I think that talks a lot about us and kind of like that,
- 27:08that we spent all this time with all this, this research and all
- 27:11you guys do. And at the end of the day, it's
- 27:13it's a hobby that has kind of just piqued our interest.
- 27:16And I was, I was thinking that earlier today I was sitting
- 27:18there and I was like, like before this ASD in space mob,
- 27:22like what was I doing with my spare time?
- 27:24What was I like? I didn't kind of really think of
- 27:26anything. I was super, super kind of into
- 27:30and we're just like read about everyday dialed in.
- 27:32And I think it's something special.
- 27:35So now I'm Next up. I'd love to hear from Katzie
- 27:38kind of what got him kind of into this stock.
- 27:43For me it was a finance market professional on Facebook writing
- 27:48about the stock in Swedish and then later I found Reddit and
- 27:55that exact write up for AMPA man when he met with the bow.
- 28:03Also the Marshak video and we all are more interested in
- 28:14different aspects of the company and I'm not coming from the
- 28:20business model and financial aspects of it.
- 28:24I I was more my curious, curious was picked by by the technology
- 28:29aspects of it and I started researching that.
- 28:37And as the other said, I, I wouldn't have been there and not
- 28:40as heavily invested unless the team effort because then I can
- 28:47understand the other aspects better by reading what the other
- 28:50contributors shared. But yeah, we're, we're living in
- 28:53the information age. And so a lot of the big
- 28:58companies that they're doing data transport or or information
- 29:06of some kind, just look at the big companies in the US stock
- 29:10market. And for me going from towers to
- 29:17satellite was just another natural leap spatial leap, high
- 29:24ground of course. And these these huge face to
- 29:33raise that they are a bit like general purpose technology.
- 29:37If you look at their use case down on Earth, they're not just
- 29:43used to communications, but but other things sensing.
- 29:46And I've always had an interest in military technology and I I
- 29:51see them as a multi use case, multi user tool that has other
- 30:00use cases. So we're very interesting to
- 30:03understand the technological aspects of it.
- 30:10Some loop back I think, I don't know what that is, but so the
- 30:21space domain is accessible by by things that don't burn on re
- 30:28entry like sensing, communications and computing.
- 30:33And so this brings that aspect to the terrestrial networks.
- 30:44So it's a really interesting time.
- 30:48Yeah, I'll end there. Now, very interesting stuff.
- 30:53It's very exciting. I'm, I'm very grateful we're all
- 30:56kind of in this journey together with the space mob.
- 30:59I, I finally believe I do have the audio going.
- 31:02It's weird like I was doing I was using Google Chrome and for
- 31:06some reason it just kept cutting out of the spaces.
- 31:09So so maybe next time we'll use a different audio to kind of go
- 31:12about that, but should be good now like we're going to be good
- 31:15for the launch. I'm going to make sure we're all
- 31:18good. So appreciate you guys sticking
- 31:20around on YouTube and like the X video right now I'm just kind of
- 31:23showing the the launch logo, which is which is very, very
- 31:26cool. So Speaking of launches, we just
- 31:30shipped this new one to Cape Canaveral and super exciting.
- 31:34I love the way the PR lined up. It's just beautiful to see that
- 31:39as we make progress and move towards the launch that's
- 31:42happening today that we have more lined up and it's going to
- 31:47keep building from there and going from there.
- 31:50So in terms of launch, do you guys have any predictions of
- 31:55when the next one will be? So you have about 30 days after
- 32:07shipment. It's the usual time.
- 32:11Yeah. So probably at the earliest
- 32:13would be late January for this next one, but it depends like if
- 32:19it's on this on Falcon 9 or if it's on New Glen, my I'm just
- 32:26throwing this out there. But if it's on New Glen, it
- 32:27might take a little longer just given that it's a new, new
- 32:31vehicle. And so integrating into that
- 32:34fairing might take a little longer versus Octa 9.
- 32:38But then again, the company has been working very closely with
- 32:41Blue Origin. So I'm guessing that Blue Origin
- 32:45probably has been given early heads up in terms of specs and
- 32:49they probably been working on the adapter to to mount it on to
- 32:55a Blue Origin New Glen fairing in addition to whether that's
- 33:00one, a configuration of one or configuration of eventually 6:00
- 33:04to 8:00. But but yeah, holy late January.
- 33:11Awesome. Yeah, I definitely think that
- 33:14New Glenn kind of getting this implemented and working is kind
- 33:18of their main mission now. Like as you can see on the site,
- 33:20we're one of the first big clients.
- 33:22And when you're building these rocket businesses, you need a
- 33:24lot of business upfront to be able to afford to build these
- 33:29and build these boosters. And things are always going
- 33:32wrong. And I can't even imagine how
- 33:34much money is eaten up in the launch industry, especially when
- 33:39you're using reusable rockets. So having a reliable customer
- 33:43like AST right off the bat is truly just a win win for both
- 33:49AST and both Blue Origin and Jeff Bezos.
- 33:52Because this way we have the ability to be able to launch
- 33:59more frequently if we're their main customer and also more at a
- 34:03time because their rocket will ultimately be able to hold the
- 34:08the most AST Bluebirds. So whenever I do talk to my
- 34:13friends as such, I'm like, once this Blue origin rockets going
- 34:16the path of full connectivity could be here faster than we
- 34:19know it. And it's kind of weird looking
- 34:22back and, and thinking that because it seems like we just
- 34:26been like kind of choked up. And it's not even like the
- 34:29company's fault. It's just hard to get these
- 34:31launched up and into space. But once you have a rocket that
- 34:34shooting 6 to 8 up at once, it's like as these batches roll out
- 34:39as the factories making eight or six satellites a month, it's
- 34:44really getting a pick up fast. And I honestly think like a a
- 34:49year from right now, we might be doing a launch stream using ASC
- 34:52Space Mobile. Yeah, that would be ideal that
- 35:00that is a possibility. But yeah, once, once I get
- 35:05production cadence up, then these launches will become
- 35:09pretty regular. I mean, it's going from a
- 35:13company that launched Blue Walker 3 in 2022 to then the
- 35:17five Block 1 satellites in 2024 to then being able to launch 45
- 35:24to 60 satellites in 2026. It's going to be pretty crazy.
- 35:29I mean, you know, if, if you can't make a launch, if, if you
- 35:37can't make a launch party down at Cape Canaveral, there's going
- 35:39to be many behind it. As we've joked, some of us maybe
- 35:42we should just buy a house down there and since there'll be so
- 35:45many, we'll fly down there and just hang out there.
- 35:48But I think the. Whole lot.
- 35:53Are we talking like space mob house?
- 35:56Yeah, we're just Jersey space mob.
- 35:57Like space mob like Jersey Tory Shore type house where you can
- 36:01like overlook the launch, have a patio back there with the grill,
- 36:04James. Right.
- 36:06Save on, save on hotel rooms. But I think, yeah, it'll be,
- 36:11it'll be interesting because at that point, I think for
- 36:15investors and and Wall Street, it's going to be very visible.
- 36:19You're going to have this launch campaign of so many, so many
- 36:22satellites going up, whether it's three on Falcon 9 or 6 to 8
- 36:26on Blue Origin, New Glen. And so I think the, the relative
- 36:32unknown AC space mobile is going to become very visible through
- 36:37those launches. And so, yeah, awareness is going
- 36:39to spread and we're going to get initial commercial service.
- 36:42It's going to be intermittent and then as more and more
- 36:46satellites are added to the consolation similar to what
- 36:48happened with Starlink direct to cell where initially it was like
- 36:51very intermittent, but then services improved.
- 36:53You know, they're at 650 satellites.
- 36:56Once we get to 60 satellites this the services could be
- 37:00pretty good. And and then once you get to
- 37:02100, you know, the expectation is that at least here in the
- 37:06United States, it should be pretty seamless and, and pretty
- 37:10fulsome. But but I don't know Catsy.
- 37:12Do you have anything else to add there?
- 37:14Yeah, I've been thinking about that because when they get
- 37:20enough satellites up that they have the opportunity to, if they
- 37:24choose to use more narrow field of view, what they do with a
- 37:33wide field of view is to use few satellites to create continuous
- 37:38coverage. But the the limiting cases is
- 37:42the edge cells. To keep them small you need to
- 37:46use the entire array. If you narrow the field of view,
- 37:51which you can do when you have a lot of satellites up, you can
- 37:55concentrate on smaller footprint and create much more narrow
- 38:02cells and still keep the cells the same size.
- 38:06That would increase the area spectral efficiency and I wonder
- 38:11if they do that when they go beyond continuous coverage and
- 38:16they can choose to create smaller cells.
- 38:23That's an interesting way to increase the throughput of of
- 38:29the constellation. Another way is of course
- 38:35launching shells that operate in other cellular bands MIMO.
- 38:43So we'll see how that develops. So once if ASC does start
- 38:52launching and and get different bands kind of as this
- 38:55consolation builds up like what are some of the like positives
- 38:59to that obviously like for like defense uses, I assume.
- 39:08Quality of service will increase and for the cases where one
- 39:17higher frequencies works best, which could be free line of
- 39:21sight not not one wall in for example, then they can take care
- 39:28of all that traffic and you can use low band for the most
- 39:32difficult cases under foliage and inside the house and stuff
- 39:38like that. And that will be using the right
- 39:43tool for the right job sort of thing that will overall create
- 39:48better throughput and quality of service.
- 39:51But when you launch more shells, this will be a much more dynamic
- 39:58network than than the cellular. Terrestrial network with the
- 40:04towers is more static. You have the same line of sight,
- 40:11the same direction to the tower, but the satellites did they
- 40:17move. And so when you have several
- 40:21satellites and several frequency bands, it will be better
- 40:25quality, more even quality of service then if it's just one
- 40:32band, because then it will sort of be better based have have a
- 40:39variation in the quality of service it it will it will get
- 40:43much better. And also the higher frequencies
- 40:49that they come not just with wider spectrum band that, that
- 40:55the satellite can use, they also come with smaller cells so that
- 41:02they serve fewer users in, in smaller cells.
- 41:09So they can simply they, they have great capacity.
- 41:17They they, they have a lot of throughput to to the throughput.
- 41:21So expect Block 3 Bluebird satellite operating in Allen,
- 41:28the S bands to have some 10,000 cells down on planet Earth and
- 41:39Block 2 will just have 1/4 of that one quarter.
- 41:44Yeah. Yeah.
- 41:47The, the other thing I would add is that Block 2, which is what's
- 41:51being launched this evening, those are going to be focused on
- 41:55low band cellular spectrum and that is to fill coverage gaps.
- 42:00And so where a terrestrial, you know, network exists and MNO,
- 42:05you know, if they're, if they're covering a certain area, the,
- 42:10the satellite will not beam down a signal to that area because
- 42:12it, it doesn't want to interfere and there's already an existing
- 42:15network. And so if you could imagine
- 42:18you're just painting all the empty spots with the Bluebird
- 42:21satellite to provide service over low band spectrum.
- 42:26But then once the mid band shell is up, which is block 3, that's
- 42:30going to be 100% coverage nationwide.
- 42:33And so it actually will overlap with the threshold network
- 42:35because it's a different frequency.
- 42:37It's, you know, anywhere as low as 1.5 gigahertz to as high as
- 42:422.52.6 gigahertz. And so that that network is
- 42:47actually going to be 100% coverage and even in the city,
- 42:53to the extent that, you know, a, a mobile user needs that
- 42:57network, it will be available because it, it will overlap with
- 43:00the threshold network. But more importantly that that
- 43:04consolation can then be used. And this is the mid band
- 43:07consolation for other applications like for example,
- 43:11autonomous vehicles, drones, IoT.
- 43:15And that that could be or that will be in partnership with AT&T
- 43:18and Verizon here in the US, But then AST could also partner with
- 43:22some other companies, you know, to provide service that could be
- 43:27outside of the M and OS. But but yeah, that's that's the
- 43:30key difference where the terrestrial, the block 2 blue
- 43:34birds that they're providing more, you know, dead spot
- 43:37coverage. And then the block 3 will be
- 43:40100% mid band high capacity data coverage.
- 43:44But then, you know, just like you see with Starling today,
- 43:47which uses a mid band spectrum, that spectrum is not going to,
- 43:51it can carry a lot to data, but then it cannot travel through,
- 43:56you know, it doesn't have as good propagation
- 43:58characteristics. So it may not go through a wall
- 44:00or a roof or it should be able to go through your car.
- 44:03But but yeah, so but yeah, it is, it's Cassie mentioned.
- 44:08Once you have, you know, 2 shells up focused on different
- 44:12frequencies, the quality of service goes up because then you
- 44:14can for a mobile phone, you can mix and match depending on the
- 44:18need. Your your phone will connect to
- 44:21the satellite and they'll be also be able to aggregate
- 44:24capacity which which cats you talked about, which is MIMO
- 44:27where you can do carrier aggregation.
- 44:29You can utilize both low band and mid band spectrum to
- 44:33increase throughput. That's all very interesting
- 44:42stuff. It's it's, I always do like talk
- 44:45to you guys because getting into the technicals is really fun for
- 44:48someone who mostly just kind of follows them from the company
- 44:52standpoint. And I always learn a lot when I
- 44:55when I hear from you guys. And I appreciate you guys
- 44:57bringing that info because for some people that are especially
- 45:00me who are invested in the stock, it's like, OK, exactly
- 45:04how does this work with the bands and all that?
- 45:07And without Catsy and you guys and Kukui kind of explaining it,
- 45:11I feel like a lot of us would be like just confused.
- 45:14So shout out there. So I had a few more topics I
- 45:20wanted to kind of touch base on. Obviously like kind of the big
- 45:25thing with as we launch more and kind of as we see these, these
- 45:30executive orders coming in with a bunch of spending in the space
- 45:34industry and looking for satellites doing stuff with,
- 45:38with all this Golden Dome talk, I think it's I think we should
- 45:43kind of get into the Golden Dome a little.
- 45:45I know Katzie just posted a tweet the other day that was a
- 45:50banger and really made me think like, wow, like what ASD is
- 45:54doing here has so much capability to get this contract
- 45:58as we get this constellation up. So Katzie, if you want to kind
- 46:01of dive into some of the Golden Dome in the specifics and why
- 46:04ASD is good for, I think a lot of people watching right now
- 46:08will appreciate that because the M&O side is pretty easy to to
- 46:12follow here. We're doing a pretty simple
- 46:16revenue share on the subscribers with them and we know who needs
- 46:21this service. People who want to feel safe,
- 46:22want to feel connected. That's kind of the easy side.
- 46:25But like once you start looking into what else these satellites
- 46:28are capable of is when it gets really fun and interesting.
- 46:31So I'd love to hear some of your Golden Dome take.
- 46:38Right. So and recently the company has
- 46:42alluded to this also that they have I believe 8 contracts with
- 46:47the US Department of War and they have identified 10
- 46:57different use cases. So that's, that's a lot.
- 47:03And, and again, what, what can we do with space?
- 47:07We can do things that aren't tangible.
- 47:10We can sense, we can compute, we can communicate.
- 47:16So collect data, disseminate data and analyse data.
- 47:23And we do that using something that also is not tangible
- 47:32natural resource, that's radio frequency spectrum.
- 47:37So it's in that within that broad scope that these use cases
- 47:48are, you can also use directed energy for say jamming or such
- 47:58spoofing. Then what's unique about ASD is
- 48:09a lot of things really, but foremost the power aperture.
- 48:16And that's a key performance metric of based array sensors.
- 48:23Nothing is as big and as powerful and it allows to sense
- 48:34things at longer distance at high resolutions.
- 48:40They also have advanced beam forming.
- 48:43They can form, shape the beams, their directivity, their power,
- 48:52their shape and do that dynamically.
- 48:58They have advanced side lobe controls through tapering, so
- 49:06they use different level of power over the phased array.
- 49:11We, we know all these things from patterns that they have
- 49:15published. And this opens up for for for
- 49:22using your network as a sensor that they're also connected to
- 49:28Common Core for the commercial case that down on planet Earth,
- 49:34it doesn't have to be, it can be in space.
- 49:38And so you can use the rays in a multi static mode.
- 49:42You can use them as yeah one can send a signal and others can
- 49:52listen and form a virtual larger array or an ever omnipresent ear
- 50:01if you like. You can also use them for the
- 50:05active part and then listen to them from from surface or
- 50:11terrestrial Raiders that can go silent then just listen.
- 50:15Laos speak existing platforms to go silent and not reveal their
- 50:22position while they still can use their Raider erase to listen
- 50:26if someone else illuminates the targets.
- 50:31They also have this interesting angle from space, not just
- 50:38shooting parallel to the to the their beams parallel to surface
- 50:45of the earth, but looking down, which helps for getting another
- 50:52radar cross section for things like stealth aircraft
- 50:56hypersonics. So and then ASD has this aspect
- 51:04of now ramping up to six satellites per month in the
- 51:09continuous flow which will produce set of tiers or or
- 51:18shells or satellites. So it's.
- 51:25A. Bit like Starlink is a
- 51:27continuously producing machine that that puts these satellites
- 51:34up. And I think the military would
- 51:37be very interested to have such a path to, to in in a rapid way
- 51:47and continuously and over time iterate for, for improvements,
- 51:53not just do a batch and then have to start all over again.
- 51:59It's a, a way to iterate faster. And so they, they have this
- 52:06ability to, to sense that's the way terrestrial Raiders do the,
- 52:12the way we have space domain awareness.
- 52:16Now that's big face to race down on Earth looking up, having a
- 52:22big face to ray out in space, looking down or looking
- 52:25sideways. It's not very different.
- 52:30But so this Reagan, he, he, he thought he'd build this Star
- 52:38Defence Initiative or Star Wars people call it.
- 52:42But the technology wasn't mature back then, certainly not for
- 52:47space based Raiders. It was much too expensive and
- 52:53difficult. But now in this day now these
- 52:57technologies within reach and to a near the outgoing boss of
- 53:05space development agency, it's said that the technologies
- 53:09within reach for space based radar is said this in I believe
- 53:12September. So that that's one interesting
- 53:18use case, that sort of sensor that will complement the thermal
- 53:27infrared sensors of other companies to get the sensor
- 53:32fusion to detect objects and to track them.
- 53:41Then there are a lot of other use cases, military use cases
- 53:45like YAM spoof proof, positioning and navigation and
- 53:51timing and you have of course communications.
- 53:57That's the big base use case of space mobile technology is to be
- 54:03able to connect to small radius. These days we have a lot of
- 54:08small radius deployed in more, more radius than soldiers,
- 54:15radius on drones, radius on weapons and distributed sensors
- 54:20and weapon radius on the soldiers themselves.
- 54:26And ASD has, together with Fairwinds, tested that with the
- 54:32Android Tactical Assault Kit. So it's wide range of military
- 54:41use cases and ASD has the opportunity to deliver some of
- 54:51those without totally reinventing their satellites and
- 54:58that speaks a lot to the efficiency of the whole
- 55:03operation. If you can for a set cost
- 55:07deliver something that has multiple use cases and multiple
- 55:14users, then you can take that research and development cost,
- 55:21the cost of building a factory production line and sell that
- 55:25yet yet another time or or a couple times.
- 55:30And that is another aspect of this company that may
- 55:34potentially makes it very, very profitable and there.
- 55:40Awesome. Wow, you're you're on top of it
- 55:43for being 2:30 AM over there. Love it.
- 55:47So yeah, but very interesting stuff going to Catsy.
- 55:54So very, very, very cool stuff here.
- 55:56So a little more on the Golden Dome here.
- 56:02The fact that the company has mentioned it a few times just
- 56:06kind of shows that they're definitely kind of all in for
- 56:09this contract and the fact that the government's using US.
- 56:12I think it's just a matter of time as we do these launches and
- 56:16get these tested where the government will have its moment
- 56:18where it clicks and it says, all right, it's time to sign on to
- 56:22this because this is technology that our country will need
- 56:26moving forward and this is the best way to do it.
- 56:28So and Pan, I would like to hear a kind of few of your thoughts
- 56:34on Golden Dome and why you might think of it or AST might get it.
- 56:38And also I have someone that just requested to join here who
- 56:43I think we used to live in India or something by ISRO.
- 56:46So I'll have him come up next. But yeah, I'd love to hear some
- 56:49of your your thoughts on Golden Dome.
- 56:51Yeah. I mean, as I've shared in spaces
- 56:53before, the company has gone from being somewhat, you know,
- 56:58they've dropped a few hints here and there, but overall pretty
- 57:00cagey about it. Versus in more recent investor
- 57:04conferences, Bank of America and UBS, Scott has been a lot more
- 57:11vocal about being involved in Golden Dome.
- 57:13And so as Katzen mentioned before, outside of just Golden
- 57:18Dome, you know, the company now has 9 contracts with Department
- 57:23of War, SDADIU and some others that they haven't disclosed.
- 57:29So you know, we are involved and, and these, the satellite
- 57:32that's going up this evening is likely part of the Halo program
- 57:36and so is BB7. And so, you know, we are these
- 57:41these two satellites are going to demonstrate the, the
- 57:43capabilities of of what the company has to offer.
- 57:46And you know, there's a whole host of things that is Katsu
- 57:50mentioned would be applicable to Golden Dome.
- 57:53But you know, I would say in, in regards to actual like Nuggets,
- 57:58you know, this company has talked about ramping up capacity
- 58:03potentially beyond six satellites a month to up to
- 58:0511:50. And you know what was mentioned
- 58:09along with that is the potential to make satellites for the
- 58:12government. The other thing is that the
- 58:15company has gone from I think it was over the summer like 400,
- 58:20four, 100,000 square feet of manufacturing to more recently
- 58:24500,000 square feet. And then in the third quarter.
- 58:28And also at UBS, Scott mentioned that they are, are now or
- 58:32actually it was at UBS conference, they're actually
- 58:34looking for additional manufacturing space in Midland,
- 58:37TX in order to build more microns.
- 58:40And there will be that, that facility once they find it and
- 58:44and stand it up, that will be a dedicated facility just for
- 58:47making microns. And so clearly the company has
- 58:50ambitions to to build additional satellites beyond what they need
- 58:54for the 1st 2 shells. And then at the end of the UBS
- 59:01presentation, he did talk about very specific thing.
- 59:04This again, this is Scott Wisniewski.
- 59:06He talked about once the 2 shells are up, which would be
- 59:10the block 2 and then block 3 shells, low band, big band
- 59:13shells. The he did talk about
- 59:15potentially, you know, having a third government shell, which
- 59:20again, I think goes back to the military use case.
- 59:22But if you think about what the Bluebird satellite is in
- 59:27essence, and then you know, Elon Musk has talked about this quite
- 59:30a bit. Each satellite has the ability
- 59:33to generate 100 kilowatts of power based off our estimates.
- 59:36If you include the potential of this this solar tail that that
- 59:40Catsy has diligence or shared his his perspectives on, you
- 59:45know, you're looking at anywhere between 100 to 120 kilowatts of
- 59:49power generation. And then you know, you have
- 59:52using the phased array for sensing and communications.
- 59:56That's a very powerful asset to have and I think.
- 1:00:00When contemplating this whole notion, I know it's it's kind of
- 1:00:03overused buzzword, but AI data centers in space, if you think
- 1:00:09about Golden Dome, you will need some level of compute, AI
- 1:00:12compute capacity out in space. And so Bluebirds would be a
- 1:00:16perfect vessel to host that because if you think about the
- 1:00:21idea of Golden Dome and in a situation where if the US was
- 1:00:25under attack or allies who were, you know, there, there's a,
- 1:00:28there's a potential for European golden Dome that, that AST might
- 1:00:31be involved in. You would want AI computing out
- 1:00:35in space. Because if you rely if that
- 1:00:39consolation, Golden Dome relies on solely terrestrial
- 1:00:42processing. If if some missiles get through
- 1:00:46and, and you have a number of assets that are destroyed on on
- 1:00:49Earth, for example, data centers, then then that renders
- 1:00:53the consolation basically useless, right?
- 1:00:56So you'll need some level of computing power out in space
- 1:01:00And, and that computing power should be autonomous in case
- 1:01:03people down on Earth can't respond or, you know, because of
- 1:01:09the conflicts, maybe they're, they, they're incapacitated or
- 1:01:12the networks are jammed or whatever it is, right.
- 1:01:14And so I think having AST Bluebirds in a the way that I've
- 1:01:21thought about it is they would almost be the quarterback of the
- 1:01:25Golden Dome system where you have these large satellites that
- 1:01:28have a tremendous amount of power and can do all these
- 1:01:32different functions, but also host payloads for processing and
- 1:01:37and you know, intelligence, right.
- 1:01:39So, so yeah, I think I know that there was some concerns from
- 1:01:44people that their initial Golden Dome recipients were out there.
- 1:01:48And from what we understand, that's just kind of the first
- 1:01:52round. There's going to be more.
- 1:01:53And I think especially for ASD with this new form factor, which
- 1:01:57is the block to satellite, I assume the the government's
- 1:02:00going to want to see one or two satellites up and running.
- 1:02:03And basically, you know, a significant amount of of the
- 1:02:09this new this new spacecraft being de risked and operating
- 1:02:13functionally before making any type of commitments.
- 1:02:16But for all intents and purposes, like I think the
- 1:02:19company and all, all Golden Dome recipients, they all know what
- 1:02:24phase they're in and whether or not they're well positioned.
- 1:02:26And I, I don't think you would see the level of spend and
- 1:02:30capital raised by the company and discussion around it without
- 1:02:34them feeling pretty damn confident that they're going to
- 1:02:37get it. So, so, yeah, I'm, I'm very
- 1:02:39optimistic. I think we'll find out probably
- 1:02:42in the next month or two. And that's, you know, that's
- 1:02:45just add that to the to the hopper of all the different
- 1:02:49things that are going to be happening whether launch BB7BB8
- 1:02:52through 10, BB 11 through 13. You know, we've got FCC approval
- 1:02:57for U.S. market access coming sometime in probably January,
- 1:03:00February. We have a number of other MN OS
- 1:03:04that are probably going to sign definitive agreement soon.
- 1:03:06And there's some speculation that we will get another big
- 1:03:09Middle Eastern one perhaps sometime in January.
- 1:03:13And so, yeah, there's a lot going on.
- 1:03:14So lots to be excited about. Golden Dome is just kind of 1
- 1:03:18little piece of all these different aspects of the
- 1:03:22company's business who I think you know for 2026, it's going to
- 1:03:25be an outstanding year. Spot on and it is pretty crazy
- 1:03:34to think about like this whole ecosystem of ASD and I've never
- 1:03:39really followed a company with just so much sheer like every
- 1:03:43week. I just feel like it's like what
- 1:03:45what's going to happen? And as we move towards the
- 1:03:48future and as like the government gets more on board,
- 1:03:53it's truly insanely exciting and the the AI Space Center is in
- 1:03:59it. I am glad you brought that up.
- 1:04:02So like last night before Osborne and sleep, I was playing
- 1:04:04with around with like in I I was going to publish it by right now
- 1:04:08time. I was like in an ASTS launch
- 1:04:12bingo card and I know there was definitely a spot that says and
- 1:04:15pen talks AI space centers. So, so I love it, but that's.
- 1:04:21Good. I I, I had that I had I had like
- 1:04:26catsy gets into the technicals of golden Dome, but I I had cook
- 1:04:30saying know what you own, but I don't think you said it.
- 1:04:32But he'll probably back at some point, but some what time I'm so
- 1:04:39AST. So their webcast going, it's
- 1:04:42going to start in about 13 minutes here.
- 1:04:44So we're just going to kind of keep talking AST once it comes
- 1:04:47on, I'll pump in that audio and then like the video will also be
- 1:04:51on our X YouTube and the audio will be here.
- 1:04:55We can kind of like I assume they're going to be talking.
- 1:04:58I think they have a factory tour like to show some of the
- 1:05:02production line. And I'm, I'm very excited to see
- 1:05:04that because it's always so cool seeing like the inside of these
- 1:05:08massive factories and how many like employees that have working
- 1:05:12on these and just the sheer size.
- 1:05:15It's like I can't even imagine the size of the rooms to build
- 1:05:19these new satellites, right? Like you walk in there, it's
- 1:05:22probably it probably doesn't feel real.
- 1:05:26I'm not too sure. Like on the I I assume they I
- 1:05:30I'm sure cats are and pen. No, I I assume they manufacture
- 1:05:33them all in like 1 giant room maybe, I don't know.
- 1:05:40That's a good question, I've never visited.
- 1:05:42Yeah, I go. I wonder if it's just a giant
- 1:05:44warehouse where they kind of build it all together.
- 1:05:48But I get it. Yeah, they have two spaces, one
- 1:05:50in Odessa the the main facility and then they also have Midland.
- 1:05:54And so they, they do build different pieces, but I'm not
- 1:05:58sure where I, I think I'm Odessa is where they do the final
- 1:06:02assembly. But yeah, they're, they're cook
- 1:06:06and I, we're going to go down to Midland for a tour at some
- 1:06:10point, but it's just never, never came together.
- 1:06:13But but yeah, if Scott's listening, we're ready for the
- 1:06:16tour, so. Yeah, Scott, Scott, sign us up.
- 1:06:20We'll make you some amazing content.
- 1:06:22Wink, wink. The the Odessa site has several
- 1:06:27buildings and so the assembly of subsystems into the control set
- 1:06:34is in one of the larger buildings simply from from
- 1:06:40watching images that ESTs released, but then assembling
- 1:06:46the the subsystems and the smaller subsystems are of course
- 1:06:53in other buildings. And then there is also at the
- 1:06:59Odessa site the shake and bake process or of thermal vacuum
- 1:07:07tests and vibration tests that take place before shipping off
- 1:07:12to the launch provider. So they don't do that off site,
- 1:07:18they do that on sites and cuts a couple of weeks from the process
- 1:07:24of shipping it to to an third party test facility.
- 1:07:30So. But not everything take takes
- 1:07:34place in one big room, just the final assembly when they put the
- 1:07:41smaller subsystems into the control set.
- 1:07:45Under control set is built in in in one part and these subsystems
- 1:07:53in other. Parts so very awesome, very
- 1:07:56interesting so and hand man. So what made you like come up
- 1:08:02with that idea to order 26 bottles of champagne to to to a
- 1:08:05bell today? Is that just a random thought?
- 1:08:09Well, you know, I actually, I've done it once before in my
- 1:08:12career. There was a back in the day when
- 1:08:16when I guess it was like my second year into my hedge fund
- 1:08:20career, there was a company that was bought out.
- 1:08:23It was a company called 3 Par and it was a subject of a
- 1:08:26bidding war between Dell and HP. And it started out at like
- 1:08:29$18.00. And it was a position that I had
- 1:08:31and, and the two companies, HP and Dell, like, went after each
- 1:08:35other to try to win this thing. And it ended up going selling
- 1:08:38for $33 after a public bidding war.
- 1:08:40And so I'd actually known the company before they went public.
- 1:08:44And to celebrate, because I made so much money, I sent them 33
- 1:08:48bottles of champagne for each each dollar that they were able
- 1:08:51to, to get. And so I just thought about
- 1:08:55doing something special. We actually, as the mob, a few
- 1:08:58others, we, we had talked about potentially getting a food truck
- 1:09:02or something for the employees down the Midland just to give
- 1:09:06them, you know, acknowledgement that we really appreciate all
- 1:09:09their hard work. Because I the, there, I think
- 1:09:11there's like 3 shifts going on and people are, you know, it's,
- 1:09:13they're, they're burning them in at all to make these satellites.
- 1:09:16I mean, I think we all understand that this is hard and
- 1:09:20there's delays, but there's also a human element to it, right?
- 1:09:22Like there's actually people who are working their tails off
- 1:09:26making sure that these satellites are put together
- 1:09:29properly tested. And so, yeah, I wanted to do
- 1:09:32something nice. I'd, I'd, I'd asked the company
- 1:09:35before, Hey, can we send a food truck down there?
- 1:09:37But I think there was some concerns around security or
- 1:09:40other things. And, and so in, in terms of
- 1:09:45coordination might have been been tough.
- 1:09:48So just on a whim, I guess it was like a 2 two or three days
- 1:09:52ago. I just decided to send some
- 1:09:54champagne down to Midland. Is a, is a token of things for,
- 1:09:58for on behalf of all of us really.
- 1:10:00So hopefully they get to enjoy it.
- 1:10:01I'm not sure where management is.
- 1:10:03I'm, I'm assuming that maybe Abell and Scott are one or or
- 1:10:07both of them are either or someone's representing us in
- 1:10:10India. And then they're probably at the
- 1:10:12command center in Maryland is my guess.
- 1:10:16But who knows? Who knows where they're maybe
- 1:10:17maybe they are in Maryland, but maybe we'll see.
- 1:10:20Like I I think it'd be really cool in the YouTube live stream
- 1:10:23if they actually show employees in the various offices.
- 1:10:28That would be cool. Similar to what?
- 1:10:30Blue Origin, Yeah. For some reason I thought you'd
- 1:10:33rather say it would be awesome of this show after the launch of
- 1:10:35the employees cracking the bottles.
- 1:10:37It's like, could you imagine, like, hey, that was me.
- 1:10:41I think Kook was. I did.
- 1:10:42That was like, hey, what are you trying to do?
- 1:10:44Sabotage? Like if they're going to get
- 1:10:45drunk like the other satellites, it's like, come on, just give it
- 1:10:48a. Yeah, yeah, they're going to be
- 1:10:50drinking. They're like they're oh, now we
- 1:10:52got to like deploy this. Oops.
- 1:10:56Yeah. Now that they're responsible,
- 1:10:59you got to be. Totally.
- 1:11:03But yeah, that's, that was the thought behind it.
- 1:11:05Hopefully they'll they'll appreciate it.
- 1:11:06But I I what I've been thinking about for next year, if they if
- 1:11:12they get to 60 satellites, then maybe I'll send them 60 bottles
- 1:11:15of champagne. But but yeah, it was, it was
- 1:11:18weird. Like on Reddit, someone had
- 1:11:19reposted it and then some people were criticizing me for not
- 1:11:22sending more expensive champagne, which we've click.
- 1:11:25Oh, is, is I, I like it. And then like at one point I was
- 1:11:29like, oh, we all send them Crystal.
- 1:11:30And then I looked at crystal and it's like several $100 a bottle.
- 1:11:34It's like, OK, I, I mean, if I send them originally I was going
- 1:11:37to send 100 bottles, but I was like 26 is more.
- 1:11:42Sending 100 is kind of gaudy, right?
- 1:11:43But then when I looked at crystal, it's like, OK, that's a
- 1:11:46bit over the top. But who knows?
- 1:11:48If we get to $200 a share, then I'll send them.
- 1:11:51I'll send them some crystal. To send, just start sending like
- 1:11:57a dollar per every share at the end of the year.
- 1:12:01Eventually that'll be like, all right, we got to cap this out.
- 1:12:04Yeah, Yeah, I think someone was mentioning maybe some.
- 1:12:07Yeah, I think sending a bottle of champagne for every
- 1:12:10satellite, but at the end of the year, I think that's a good
- 1:12:13metric. But yeah, I mean, I think for
- 1:12:15people in general, if you want to send gift baskets or things
- 1:12:19like that, I'm, I'm sure the company wouldn't when turn them
- 1:12:23away, they'd probably be happy. And so some people had reached
- 1:12:27out to me today asking how they could send alcohol and I used
- 1:12:30wine.com, but there's other services out there and you know,
- 1:12:35I don't, you know, it's up to you.
- 1:12:36Maybe send a fruit with his edible arrangement or something.
- 1:12:41I'm sure employees down at Midland or whatever offices that
- 1:12:45they have an office in Miami too if you send them a little token
- 1:12:48or. Things they'd.
- 1:12:49Love that. Maybe send some Dubai chocolate.
- 1:12:52Yeah, yeah, some Dubai chocolate.
- 1:12:54So Dubai chocolate that we, that we ready to go.
- 1:12:57Yeah. So the AST webcast starts in
- 1:13:01about 5 minutes. And I did kind of want to want
- 1:13:04to touch on I, I did like the woman you just talked about how
- 1:13:08yeah, we like talk about the stock all day long.
- 1:13:10But it is, it is crazy to think that behind this company is like
- 1:13:14these insanely hard working men and women that are working
- 1:13:18overnight, putting these together, like being away from
- 1:13:22their families, probably working 12 hour shifts and just to kind
- 1:13:27of make this mission true. And I, I'm sure the employees
- 1:13:30there are, are very passionate about what they're doing.
- 1:13:33And it's, it seems to me like the company culture is, is very
- 1:13:37strong because they kind of understand what they're doing.
- 1:13:41They see the ramp up and hopefully those employees got a
- 1:13:44lot of goods, stock options and compensation because what
- 1:13:47they're doing, they totally deserve that once this thing's
- 1:13:51up full. And I'm sure they do have those
- 1:13:54those options, especially because Bell has obviously taken
- 1:13:58advantage of all of his ownership options and just sits
- 1:14:01on every single share, which is still insane to me.
- 1:14:05But. Yeah, it's, it's funny because
- 1:14:07over the years when you've had bears and short sellers
- 1:14:11complained about the company, it's, it was very easy to
- 1:14:14respond and say, well, yeah, the founder, he hasn't sold a single
- 1:14:18share. And that's, that's been true
- 1:14:20over five years since they've been public.
- 1:14:23And so it's hard to, it's hard to refute that like even with
- 1:14:28stock going to 100 that I'm not selling a share so.
- 1:14:32Yeah, and isn't he sitting on like 78 million or something
- 1:14:36like hits 100 a share? Like how do you not take a
- 1:14:39little off? But like he, he knows and he's
- 1:14:41in it for he's in it for the the entire mission.
- 1:14:46And I, I have feel like it, honestly, it's probably like a
- 1:14:49thing to himself where he's like, I'm not going to get my
- 1:14:54stock like super up and then drop it on, on people.
- 1:14:59And I know the mission isn't even close to complete yet
- 1:15:03because we have 6 satellites and we plan on deploying hundreds.
- 1:15:06So I sell this early on and it doesn't really make sense when
- 1:15:10you look at it, but still like even a little bit just to buy
- 1:15:12like a nice like house or something is.
- 1:15:14Like, OK, I think it's important though, to each this is not
- 1:15:18normal. Like, I, I do think people
- 1:15:21should like for, for a Bell and, and other executives, they
- 1:15:25should be free to sell some of their stock and to enjoy some of
- 1:15:29it and, and take care of their families.
- 1:15:31And so I think a bell is like Kook is an extreme example where
- 1:15:35he's just holding on to every single share.
- 1:15:37And so as you mentioned, he has 78,000,000 Class C shares, which
- 1:15:43is worth about 6.7 billion as of today.
- 1:15:45And So what I think though, what you've seen this year, how it,
- 1:15:49what's what has changed is he actually is taking some stock
- 1:15:53awards. We we saw that in the most
- 1:15:55recent proxy. And so this is the first year
- 1:15:59where he's actually taking some small amount of stock awards,
- 1:16:01which I think to him and for the rest of us, it will allow him to
- 1:16:05eventually sell some of those shares, which I think is a good
- 1:16:09thing. Like I think everybody,
- 1:16:12everybody who is a founder, owner of a company who's built a
- 1:16:15tremendous amount of wealth, not only for themselves, but for
- 1:16:18everybody, I think they should have the freedom to do that.
- 1:16:21And so when he does eventually sell some shares, I don't think
- 1:16:24people should freak out. It's just a normal thing to do.
- 1:16:28But I do see I, I don't know if they're going to immediately
- 1:16:32like launch within one minute the YouTube stream, but I don't
- 1:16:36know. Do you think it's good to pipe
- 1:16:38in the audio here or should people kind of run that
- 1:16:41separately? Because I think maybe, maybe we
- 1:16:45can continue to talk here and there, but if the audio is
- 1:16:48running. Yeah, I I was possibly going to
- 1:16:52put the audio here that we can kind of commentate as it goes
- 1:16:57like if we'll see what's going on.
- 1:16:59But I, I do, I do recommend we we do we are going to have it up
- 1:17:04with the I'm going to get that up right now.
- 1:17:06We do have it up with the video on YouTube and because I I think
- 1:17:10and on one basis. One is there's going to be a
- 1:17:13delay, right? And so and there's a, there's a
- 1:17:16delay on top of a delay like when you were on X Space.
- 1:17:19So it might make it tough, but OK.
- 1:17:23So I guess it's going to take some time for them to come up.
- 1:17:27Yeah, I don't see it up yet. So we can just can you talk?
- 1:17:30I have it already. Cool.
- 1:17:36Yeah, about the bell. Having a founder like him is an
- 1:17:39unfair advantage doing what he wants to do.
- 1:17:45I think it's that the dedication for the mission is something
- 1:17:52that if not assures success, then it promotes success.
- 1:18:01If you can find something where where the market opportunity is
- 1:18:05and where your talent is and what you want to do, that's a
- 1:18:10powerful combination, right? Yeah, I I think the other thing
- 1:18:15too is that Bell, he was successful.
- 1:18:17He did sell his previous company.
- 1:18:19And you know, he made a decent amount of money.
- 1:18:22You could guesstimate as to how much he made.
- 1:18:24But what that gave him was a decent level of comfort and then
- 1:18:30the ability to release, like you were saying, stick with the
- 1:18:33mission. Here we go.
- 1:18:34Looks like starting a minute and 30 seconds, but but yeah, having
- 1:18:39that flexibility and not caring what the market thinks.
- 1:18:42And that's just that just jump scared me so bad because I I I I
- 1:18:46I have like 3 computers up and my one was up all the way then I
- 1:18:48just heard this music and I'm like where is this coming from?
- 1:18:51Yeah, but I, but I think for Bell, yeah, having, having some
- 1:18:55amount of personal wealth so that it's not what's really
- 1:18:59driving him, but it's ideologically this this mission
- 1:19:03to connect the unconnected and and, you know, fulfill this
- 1:19:07dream of his. I think that's, that's what
- 1:19:09really sets this guy apart because he's he's just like a
- 1:19:12man on a mission. He wants to succeed.
- 1:19:14And money's not really what's driving him.
- 1:19:17It's it's his passion for this underlying technology and what
- 1:19:21the company can accomplish. This is exciting.
- 1:19:29I see 37 seconds on my side. This music is awesome.
- 1:19:33Yeah, I'm looking forward to to hear what the company has to
- 1:19:37say. I think Scott will.
- 1:19:39If there's if there's people talking and stuff, I'll try to
- 1:19:41like pump it in the spaces. I'll put my little microphone to
- 1:19:45it. I.
- 1:19:46Think it might be good to just leave this space without without
- 1:19:51the audio at Hampton because if we're listening to audio here
- 1:19:53locally and then it comes out here, it's going to be we're.
- 1:19:55Going to be hearing 1000 times, yeah.
- 1:19:57Yeah, that's right. Yeah.
- 1:19:58So yeah, everyone turn into the AST stream or one of us on Axe
- 1:20:02or YouTube, then we'll kind of throw in notes as we go.
- 1:20:22I guess I can get a little count to watch it.
- 1:20:23So it's just cool. It's kind of seen the behind the
- 1:20:25scenes right now. Like, look, really started
- 1:20:30employees Christmas Eve over there.
- 1:20:36You have 2 1/2 minutes rocket like LVF three time something,
- 1:20:41no homework going to have thirsting box, solid box model,
- 1:20:48thirsting of solid rocket models, enormous acoustic metals
- 1:20:51which have like the Edifron components, basically the
- 1:20:57acoustic labels, the acoustic suppression system.
- 1:21:05It's it's interesting hearing all what they're doing.
- 1:21:21Oh man, this is really happening guys.
- 1:21:24Yeah, my, my hearts racing right now.
- 1:21:26I'm I want to take a chug of Doctor Pepper.
- 1:21:52Upward there, not me trying to build the stock
- 1:22:11price. 40 seconds.
- 1:22:23You're going to pump some audio in from this.
- 1:22:33The viewers may watch out for the swing out of the Cryworm and
- 1:22:37the Echostic Supplement system touch operation. 30 seconds, all
- 1:22:50right. You also look everything's
- 1:22:52looking nominal so far. But sender out.
- 1:22:56This proceeds to launch, which I think it will.
- 1:22:58We'll see the. Light this can't.
- 1:23:01Understood. Stages, yeah.
- 1:23:02What's like that? Man, that that that rocket
- 1:23:08sounds great. We have.
- 1:23:09Too much trust today it takes off wings first from the cat,
- 1:23:21then some minute in core stage will also ignite.
- 1:23:30LBM 3M6 rocket car sapal tapur mod happen video promotion or.
- 1:23:40Talk about some some dopamine motors.
- 1:24:155000 952 kilonewtons per duration for present mission is
- 1:24:35132.5 seconds. I don't like when they go quiet.
- 1:24:54They're there. Yeah, 111 seconds into the
- 1:25:04flight. Kathy, someone asks.
- 1:25:05Why is it going sideways? Do you know?
- 1:25:11That's just the camera angle. You can see no on the screen.
- 1:25:14Yeah, OK. There's a lot of foreign people
- 1:25:19in my chat. Pretty cool to see on YouTube.
- 1:25:22Yeah, over 500 people. It's actually a lot of Korean.
- 1:25:25Just OK, that's that's cool. Just now we have had a
- 1:25:30confirmation of the separation of the 2 S 2 100 posters a 160
- 1:25:52seconds into the flight. Current altitude 104 kilometers.
- 1:25:57Looking good, boosters are gone. Beautiful.
- 1:26:15Looking good for people. On YouTube, can you hear me in
- 1:26:42my audio? Just confirm and welcome all the
- 1:26:46Koreans in the chat. You guys could all subscribe
- 1:27:02while you're here too. I'd appreciate that a lot.
- 1:27:31This is exciting. I guess there's a red dot there,
- 1:27:36which is when? Maybe the next stage nights.
- 1:27:50So. Exciting.
- 1:28:03So exciting. I love those like old school
- 1:28:17looking scans they use like like this view right here.
- 1:28:20That's so. Cool.
- 1:28:22That's good. All right, We got ignition of
- 1:28:24the final stage. Nice.
- 1:28:34This is it. This is inevitability.
- 1:28:38Commercial servers 2026 after we plays BBC Let's go and 58 more
- 1:28:50satellites will go up this year, hopefully.
- 1:28:54Yeah, right. This is.
- 1:28:54This is just the start. This is the start of something
- 1:28:58something special right here. And it is crazy to think that
- 1:29:04like when the last launch was to this now and well, this is going
- 1:29:13to kick off. I hope the shorts are ready.
- 1:29:19So the reason people are looking relieved is that the most risk
- 1:29:23reports are done, the third and last stage has ignited
- 1:29:30successfully and it's confirmed, and we'll have to wait some 10
- 1:29:43minutes before Bluebird Block 2 would separate from the upper
- 1:29:48third and last stage. Very, very cool.
- 1:30:04The the way it's separated is is super.
- 1:30:09So I I assume that's controlled with a launcher or with a
- 1:30:13control switch somewhere? No, it's probably automated.
- 1:30:20You guys can see in the diagram there we've got quite a bit of
- 1:30:24distance until satellite separation.
- 1:30:52It's happening guys. So cool.
- 1:30:55Nice of that Uber botting. Maybe I mean, what's going to be
- 1:31:04really cool too is seeing seeing multiple go up on the next few
- 1:31:12rockets as well. But yeah, this is what a way to
- 1:31:16kick this off. And what I would add is that
- 1:31:20this is a, this is like a historic event in India.
- 1:31:24This is groundbreaking or ISRO and the program, the space
- 1:31:29program there. I mean, this is a huge branding
- 1:31:32event for them that they're taking up such an important,
- 1:31:37inexpensive and monumental payload.
- 1:31:41This is a huge accomplishment for their country.
- 1:31:43And I think as we've probably seen in some of the media
- 1:31:48recently, it's been all over the press that is Rose taking up
- 1:31:54this this American groundbreaking gear satellite.
- 1:31:59It's a big source of pride. And as I tweeted earlier today,
- 1:32:04you know, you've got 1.5 billion people.
- 1:32:07We're going to be reading this in the news and see it on TV.
- 1:32:10And of course, we recently partnered with Vodafone Idea,
- 1:32:14which is BI in India, that's the M&O that we'll be working with.
- 1:32:18And so you can bet that this is going to be splashed everywhere
- 1:32:24that this is the first step of putting the other consolation to
- 1:32:29launch commercial service in India, which if you can imagine
- 1:32:33the coverage gaps that we have here in India, there's quite a
- 1:32:37bit of of, you know, areas where there is no, there is no
- 1:32:42Internet connectivity broadband or fixed wireless or mobile for
- 1:32:46that matter. And so so this is going to be
- 1:32:48huge. Yeah, I, I saw that today when I
- 1:32:54watched like the Indian news coverage.
- 1:32:57I was, I was actually pretty shocked at like how much of like
- 1:33:01a historic kind of thing they're looking this at.
- 1:33:03And, and honestly, it's something for them to and ISRO
- 1:33:07to be super proud of. You just launched like the
- 1:33:09biggest Thor Earth orbit satellite ever and kind of
- 1:33:14kicked off. What's going to be a legendary
- 1:33:16change for this company and where it goes from here?
- 1:33:22And the fact that one already shipped off just shows you that
- 1:33:26the team's not playing around Now they have these satellites
- 1:33:28figured out, they're making six a month and now it's time to to
- 1:33:31send them up. Do you guys think that we would
- 1:33:35use them as launch partners again?
- 1:33:36Because it seems like like it seems like everything's going
- 1:33:39well. And if everything is like
- 1:33:41already integrated and if we're making that many a month, why
- 1:33:44not just ship one off there, you know?
- 1:33:52Sorry, I'm just listening to the announcer she's talking about,
- 1:33:55AST should say. This watch party looks fun.
- 1:34:13Look at all the the like school trips out there.
- 1:34:38There's an EST employee there, what it's called.
- 1:34:44Hi, guys. Like, Yep.
- 1:35:09And there it goes. But it's still amazing.
- 1:35:11It's just the pure like way to track all this.
- 1:35:14It's so, it's so fascinating. Yeah.
- 1:35:36So what you were asking before, I'm not sure we'll launch
- 1:35:39another one on Israel at least in the near term.
- 1:35:41But I guess it's possible if they're if they are able to
- 1:35:45increase capacity. And I guess I would add that LDM
- 1:35:493 is a powerful rocket, but they're in the development of
- 1:35:53basically creating a comparable reusable rocket to Falcon 9.
- 1:35:57And so once they get that rocket going, I could certainly see us
- 1:36:02using using that one. But I think from an economic
- 1:36:05perspective, using LVM 3 is quite pricey for dedicated
- 1:36:10launch unless you can get, you know, maybe two or two composite
- 1:36:16Bluebirds on it. But but yeah, I mean, I think, I
- 1:36:19think utilizing LVM 3 was part of the way to open up commercial
- 1:36:26access in India signing on Vodafone Idea, but also from
- 1:36:30regulatory standpoint. Which is at the target altitude
- 1:36:34but accelerating. It's the way satellite stays
- 1:36:37stays up. Right.
- 1:36:40They've got to get to 17,000 mph, right?
- 1:36:44High enough velocity. Right.
- 1:36:48Higher speed, no closer they get to Earth or they'll drop.
- 1:36:54So just a couple of minutes left and then there will be payload
- 1:37:03separation. It's upper stages made in India,
- 1:37:10pride of the Indian nation. Earlier upper stage engines,
- 1:37:16crayonic they they used in the GSLV Mark two had problems.
- 1:37:22They were made in Russia so they developed their own and they've
- 1:37:26got it right because it has worked every time they've used
- 1:37:29it. So looking very good so far.
- 1:37:39Oh, I'm here. This is this is in the chag,
- 1:37:42Gregory said. I see clacking equals bullish.
- 1:37:50Yeah, there is a speaker every time he says performance
- 1:37:53nominal, people clap, which means everything's going
- 1:37:56according to plan. Love it.
- 1:38:22Oh, here we go. Oh, here we go, send it.
- 1:38:35There we go, separation. Holy.
- 1:38:44Beautiful, huh? That's that's so cool.
- 1:38:58Beautiful. So after separation is is is
- 1:39:02that good? It's in orbit, ready to go,
- 1:39:04ready to unfurl once once they deem conditions.
- 1:39:09It's going to take some time. They're going to, yeah.
- 1:39:12They'll have to get it orientated properly.
- 1:39:15And I mean cats, I can tell you and then run system checks it,
- 1:39:19it could be days, weeks before they they get to a point where
- 1:39:23they're comfortable to unfold the satellite.
- 1:39:28Yeah, I I remember last time the like don't want the like all the
- 1:39:34conditions up in space got a kind of line up just completely
- 1:39:38understandable. Yeah, you don't want to take any
- 1:39:42risks but that, and that's beautiful.
- 1:39:45They separate. Oh, they're back to the live
- 1:39:47stream. Don't see what they're saying.
- 1:40:07Somewhat old. Thank you, messengers.
- 1:40:09Passionate community, baby. That's us.
- 1:40:15See you at the next launch. Kathy going to have to go back
- 1:40:21through that video and and take apart some of this stuff.
- 1:40:25That wasn't it. Yeah, yeah, right.
- 1:40:30I love that the the little thank yous at the end.
- 1:40:34Yeah, that was that was a nice touch.
- 1:40:36Not an excellent touch. Thank you.
- 1:40:39There's a bunch of requests in here.
- 1:40:42I'm going to let some people in and feel free to come share some
- 1:40:44thoughts or ask us questions. Kind of, we're just kind of hype
- 1:40:48now, like mission success. We got what we wanted.
- 1:40:53So what's going on, guys? What's what's going on?
- 1:40:55Socrates, it's cool to see you in here.
- 1:40:59Hey, thanks man. Yeah, I just wanted to say Merry
- 1:41:02Christmas to Space Mob and or wrap, you know, wrapping gifts
- 1:41:06for the kids and the satellites over the head.
- 1:41:10You know, like I said earlier today and it's just amazing to
- 1:41:13see. And just wanted to say I
- 1:41:15appreciate everything and you guys are awesome.
- 1:41:17So that's all I had to say. Thank you.
- 1:41:21Yeah, I appreciate a lot, man. I said earlier today and that's
- 1:41:26just amazing to see and. So with so moving for oh, hey,
- 1:41:39Jacob, what's going on, man? You you feel free to come up and
- 1:41:41talk. Oh, what's up, man?
- 1:41:43What's up, guys? Congrats to you that lost.
- 1:41:45That lost was beautiful. It worked out great.
- 1:41:48Beautiful. Yeah, dude, it was awesome.
- 1:41:50I just, I had just come up to say earlier that that Alex guy
- 1:41:55that I met at the airport that that was crazy yesterday or on
- 1:41:59Sunday or, yeah, on Monday, flying he worked, just happened
- 1:42:02to be passing through that. Yeah.
- 1:42:07Yeah. It just happened to be like
- 1:42:08where I just saw a guy in the AC, AC space mobile.
- 1:42:10I was like, oh, hey, look. And I was like, I pointed my
- 1:42:12hat. He kind of looked to be funny
- 1:42:14and he ended up being a worker there.
- 1:42:15Yeah. Well, that's cool.
- 1:42:17Yeah, I picked up his. Yeah, I picked up his.
- 1:42:21I picked up his tab and said it was from Space Motorbike too.
- 1:42:24I was. I was.
- 1:42:24Thanks for that idea. Pan Am the man Yeah, I just I
- 1:42:28just came up to say that was awesome.
- 1:42:29Great launch and fucked socks ripping overnight.
- 1:42:31So Congrats guys, I'm I'm happy. That's that's awesome to hear.
- 1:42:39Oh yeah, that, that is, I am yet to see anyone like kind of out
- 1:42:44in the public and in any space, mobile stuff.
- 1:42:49I, I wear it all the time and and the people at work are
- 1:42:51always like, what are you wearing?
- 1:42:53Then I give them the whole rundown and they're like, that's
- 1:42:56not going to work. Oh yeah, I wear so I mean, I've
- 1:42:58been in rock lab longer, so I have more gear from them, but I
- 1:43:01I wear all the time, especially when I travel stuff too.
- 1:43:03I've run into people in the IT like that are like work in the
- 1:43:05industry like that. I have random conversations
- 1:43:08about people that are working on like, you know, bespoke private
- 1:43:11company. So that it's it's a great
- 1:43:12conversation. Started to wear, to wear your
- 1:43:14gear, especially, especially like going forward and like
- 1:43:18people are going to know when they see that what that is.
- 1:43:20It's, it's a, it's a fun, it's a fun like way of getting that
- 1:43:23conversation started with people because you never know, like
- 1:43:25somebody that sees it could be like, you know, completely.
- 1:43:28And that like, like could have, could have some information, but
- 1:43:32it's just, it's a fun way to get get the conversation started
- 1:43:34with people. So yeah, wrap it whenever you're
- 1:43:37traveling, stuff like that. It's cool.
- 1:43:40Right. We got to wrap it and it's fun
- 1:43:42getting people interested because space investing, like my
- 1:43:46dad's a bit older. When I explained this to him,
- 1:43:48he's like, how do you even know about this?
- 1:43:49So it's very fun. So one thing I did want to touch
- 1:43:52on because I come from like a pretty strong marketing
- 1:43:55background is I mean, I and pan man was doing me about it.
- 1:43:59It's like the production cloudy now.
- 1:44:01So and Pan, what do you think of those those videos?
- 1:44:07They were, they were really good.
- 1:44:08I mean, we've come a long way since Blue Walker 3.
- 1:44:11So I remember Blue Walker 3, they're having technical issues
- 1:44:16because they they did a lot of interviews live, whereas here
- 1:44:20they, you know, all this was pre recorded.
- 1:44:23But yeah, it was like. Starting the stream today.
- 1:44:26Was it? Kind of like me starting the
- 1:44:28stream today. That was my that was my Blue
- 1:44:31Walker 3. The next one's going to be fire.
- 1:44:33Yeah. But yeah, it still it still
- 1:44:34worked out. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:44:36But I, I think, I mean clearly the company is matured, right.
- 1:44:39Like we're, we're at a different stage.
- 1:44:40We're not this tiny start up company anymore.
- 1:44:45We're we're big and we're about to launch commercial service,
- 1:44:48which is super exciting. So so yeah, huge difference.
- 1:44:52Yeah, that's The thing is like the team kind of they probably
- 1:44:56have felt that they had they had the need to kind of get that
- 1:44:59content out there. So when people are looking at
- 1:45:01this and you hear space Mobile, you can look at those
- 1:45:04commercials and relate to these people like being being stuck
- 1:45:10out needing service. The way they touched on the
- 1:45:13government applications was super cool.
- 1:45:16And it is funny thinking back to the term or like when the, when
- 1:45:20they stop just saying, oh, this is like the first ever broadband
- 1:45:23cellular network to they started just including in every earnings
- 1:45:27and defense US defense work and highlighting that I think is
- 1:45:33key. And I hope and I think that gets
- 1:45:34a lot of people super interested in this product.
- 1:45:37So Catsy kind of what, what did you think of those videos?
- 1:45:41And I, I, I know you enjoyed them and have a lot to dissect.
- 1:45:49I I think we lost Catsy, but he he deserves some rest.
- 1:45:53Yeah, he might have. Dropped.
- 1:45:55Yeah, it's probably what 5:00 AM there.
- 1:46:02So does anyone else in in space not want to I want to come up,
- 1:46:05ask some questions. We have a lot of people in here
- 1:46:08or Annapen. Is there any kind of topics you
- 1:46:10want to talk about them? Happy day.
- 1:46:11Kind of keep talking to AST got a lot of people in here.
- 1:46:15So feel free to hop up anyone and throw out any topics.
- 1:46:19Yeah. I mean, I think, I think it'll
- 1:46:22be interesting to see what the company does from here on.
- 1:46:26I, I would assume, you know, once you have a, an event like
- 1:46:31that happened, then people ask, well, what's next?
- 1:46:34And it's good. I'm glad you asked that because
- 1:46:37we've cut Bluebird 7 on its way to Cape Canaveral lined up for
- 1:46:42launch. That's probably going to happen
- 1:46:43in about 30 days. And then we could possibly have
- 1:46:49two batches of Bluebirds, batches of three being
- 1:46:54completed, but before December 31st because we we heard
- 1:46:57Jennifer Manor speak about how. Six a day.
- 1:47:01Yeah. Well, she, she and we're, we're
- 1:47:04at six a month. And so, so yeah, that, that
- 1:47:08would then extrapolate out to probably 2 launches in February.
- 1:47:13And then to round that out, we'll probably have one more
- 1:47:15launch before the end of March, which would get us to five.
- 1:47:18And then the company's talked about up to 13 or 2026, so
- 1:47:23they'll be 8 more. And so, yeah, it's shaping up to
- 1:47:27be a strong start to the year. Obviously, this this is kicking
- 1:47:31off. And, and I think as I mentioned
- 1:47:34earlier, we've got a number of other, you know, milestones that
- 1:47:39are coming up, which is the FCC should come to a decision around
- 1:47:44granting access to our U.S. market application, which will
- 1:47:49be sometime in January, potentially early February.
- 1:47:52And then as I've talked about before, we've got $175,000,000
- 1:47:57revenue prepayment coming in from Saudi Telecom, which will
- 1:48:01be before the end of this year. And then yeah, we've got
- 1:48:06potentially a few more M and OS that are going to be signed up.
- 1:48:10And yeah, there's just like everyday more news like First
- 1:48:14Net. There was an article this past
- 1:48:16week where it talked about how they are allocating funds to
- 1:48:21build out the, you know, make make sure that the first
- 1:48:24responder network is more robust and satellite direct to sell
- 1:48:28connectivity is a key part of that.
- 1:48:29So I know we've all been saying this, but that that commercial
- 1:48:34agreement with Firstnet is coming sooner or later.
- 1:48:37And, and Firstnet actually hinted at it.
- 1:48:39There was a video 2 weeks ago that talked about that showed a
- 1:48:44demonstration with a few city, state and federal first
- 1:48:49responder organizations. And in that video, the person
- 1:48:54that whoever runs the account said stay tuned for more program
- 1:48:58updates. And so I don't know, like I, if
- 1:49:02people didn't see Scott Wisniewski before launch, he
- 1:49:06added to his tweet with him writing with Santa riding the
- 1:49:09truck. He, he, he tweeted ADL with like
- 1:49:136-6 rockets. And so he must be pretty happy
- 1:49:16that there's probably, there's probably more stuff coming.
- 1:49:21So yeah, it's an exciting time, yeah.
- 1:49:24The, the fact that this was like, so like usually, at least
- 1:49:28over my training career, the end of December is like, I don't
- 1:49:31know, unless there is a Santa rally.
- 1:49:33I don't really know if the Santa rally is a thing that gets
- 1:49:35talked about every year. But I just remember like in, in
- 1:49:38my training days, I always remember like the end of the
- 1:49:40year. I was like, OK, like play it
- 1:49:41easy. It's a little slow.
- 1:49:43But the fact that like AC is hitting these milestones like at
- 1:49:47the end of the year, like is, is there a better way to start
- 1:49:502026? No, this is great.
- 1:49:54And as I've talked about in other spaces, you've got, you
- 1:49:59know, it looks like see inflation's team, you've got
- 1:50:03interest rates coming down and they've got the Trump
- 1:50:05administration saying that space and 6G superiority is a key
- 1:50:10focus of this administration. So you can ask for a better
- 1:50:14environment for the company to launch its consolation and to
- 1:50:17execute. And so I think, you know, I'd,
- 1:50:21I'd put this chart out of this fractal pattern of where AST
- 1:50:25could get near term. But I do think like we are on
- 1:50:29target to, you know, meet and breach probably $200 a share
- 1:50:33sometime this year, perhaps earlier than the end of the
- 1:50:37year, but I don't often. So your price is out there.
- 1:50:41Right. I I also kind of surprised
- 1:50:42hearing that for a second. But I do think 200 is in the
- 1:50:44card so you can write market. Market put Put on the slate.
- 1:50:51Bread rum. If you're if you're listing
- 1:50:52anywhere, put it on a T-shirt. Because I think I think once as
- 1:50:57Scott has mentioned this, this coming year, we've got most of
- 1:51:00the revenues will be government related.
- 1:51:02And as, as we've talked about it earlier, I think, you know,
- 1:51:07Golden Dome is going to be a big part of that.
- 1:51:08And you know, the company has already said we govern
- 1:51:12government's going to be a big contributor this year and then
- 1:51:15next year. And and you know, they talked
- 1:51:17about hundreds of millions. And then next year, that's when
- 1:51:21commercial revenues are really going to start kicking in.
- 1:51:24And so once the consolation's up and we've turned on a few
- 1:51:27markets, you're going to see, you know, the the financial
- 1:51:32snowball come in. And so, yeah, very exciting.
- 1:51:35I mean, this is for anybody who's been invested in the
- 1:51:38stock, this has been five years in the making and now this is
- 1:51:43it. Like this is, this is the moment
- 1:51:46you've all been waiting for. Yeah, honestly.
- 1:51:50And with what you're saying with like interest rates coming down
- 1:51:53from presidency, obviously like space trying to keep interest
- 1:51:57rates down, kind of keep this like they're, they're investing
- 1:52:01tons of money into these companies trying to keep AI
- 1:52:04advancing and the space sector advancing strongly.
- 1:52:08And it's like, yeah, if we did launch more years back under the
- 1:52:12Biden administration when space wasn't as hard as a topic, it's
- 1:52:15like could this have even taken out like cut this have taken off
- 1:52:19to the same extent and probably not.
- 1:52:22But now that we are seeing this and to the extent that we, we
- 1:52:26are with all this, this interest in the space industry and like
- 1:52:31like Rocket lab too, I think they're, they're super poised to
- 1:52:35take on a take advantage of this with the SpaceX IPO.
- 1:52:38And like, that's just another thing looking to 2026.
- 1:52:41It's like, it's hard to believe. Like it seems like we've been on
- 1:52:44here like just just preaching and spreading all this
- 1:52:46information for so many years. And it's like we've seen the
- 1:52:49space industry, but now seeing like these big headlines and
- 1:52:53like crazy valuations. It's like, whoa, like the the
- 1:52:57space stuff like is is here and it's coming and there's no way
- 1:53:01to really escape it anymore. Yeah, I think that's right.
- 1:53:09I think SpaceX, the IPO is going to bring a lot of interest to
- 1:53:13the sector and a lot of investment dollars.
- 1:53:15So yeah, it's 2026. You can ask for a better
- 1:53:19environment. And so I think Sky's the limit
- 1:53:23or space is the limit. Catsy Katzy ads ads Katzy's back
- 1:53:27shout out Katzy I I like to hear said well what you're excited
- 1:53:30for this this coming year ahead most I'm not sure not getting
- 1:53:46but value him. I can't hear him either.
- 1:53:55Yeah, I did have. I had someone DM me and Pam,
- 1:54:00they wanted to hear. They wanted to hear you talk
- 1:54:03back to the contrast and now to the current days.
- 1:54:06Like how do you feel about it in terms of like confidence or just
- 1:54:11like, do you just have a different mindset for the
- 1:54:13company? What do you mean compared to the
- 1:54:17early? Days like like to like the early
- 1:54:19days like like did they just want to they just said like, can
- 1:54:23you remember us and take us back to like how you were feeling
- 1:54:26that I didn't feel like now and kind of a shorter.
- 1:54:28The early days, there was a lot of uncertainty, right, like
- 1:54:31before any satellites were launched.
- 1:54:34And then it was unclear where the company was going to get
- 1:54:37funding. I mean, they had money to a
- 1:54:38degree, but you know, there, there wasn't funding.
- 1:54:42They had M&O partners. But before Blue Walker 3
- 1:54:46launched, yeah, it was, it was all a concept still, right?
- 1:54:50And, and they had tested, they had tested with Blue Walker one,
- 1:54:54which was sending up a cell phone up, up in the satellite
- 1:54:57and and then having the large phase ray on Earth.
- 1:55:00And so it was a brilliant way to economically and efficiently
- 1:55:03test if the system work, which they, you know, they
- 1:55:06accomplished. But then back then, yeah, that
- 1:55:10we all had stars in our eyes. And we're like, oh, we'll
- 1:55:12eventually get there. And I don't think, you know,
- 1:55:15Cook and I have talked about this.
- 1:55:16Like, we actually spoke with a space expert not named Tim
- 1:55:19Farrar and and got their opinion.
- 1:55:23And they're like, oh, you know, this is certainly, it seems
- 1:55:25possible, but there's going to be a lot of ups and downs and
- 1:55:29funding is going to be an issue. And it kind of went through this
- 1:55:31laundry list and, and I think we were still like anybody, you
- 1:55:37know, optimist, right? And we're like, OK, well, I, I
- 1:55:40think the opportunity is huge here.
- 1:55:41And, and the, the company will make it like we've got a great
- 1:55:45owner operator and he's, he's motivated and, and you know,
- 1:55:49what really did it for me was the strategic partners like
- 1:55:52AT&T, Vodafone and others. And so, but back then it was
- 1:55:57there was a ton of risk. And I don't think anybody,
- 1:56:00including probably the company as well, I don't think anybody
- 1:56:02saw how difficult it would be. And in 2020 and 2021, funding
- 1:56:08was there. The markets were wide open.
- 1:56:09But then once 2022 hit and you know, there's, there's
- 1:56:13criticisms like people will say, oh, they didn't meet their stock
- 1:56:15projections. Well, when when the market shut
- 1:56:19off for funding in 2022, like the company had to slow down,
- 1:56:22they had to they slow their development process and any
- 1:56:26number of things right like that to conserve cash.
- 1:56:28And so they made it through the valley of death until the end of
- 1:56:332023 when they raised money with AT&T, Vodafone and Google.
- 1:56:38And then they had to do that painful equity offering of $100
- 1:56:41million to bridge themselves to get to that.
- 1:56:45That was January 2024. They had to do that painful $100
- 1:56:49million equity offering. They sold and get this 33
- 1:56:52million shares at $3 and what is it, $0.50 a piece, My gosh, but
- 1:56:56they had. Whoever bought those?
- 1:57:00Yeah, but they had they had to do that.
- 1:57:02And then that tied them over to get Verizon, which took their
- 1:57:06sweet time. But Verizon, you know, joined in
- 1:57:10at the end of May and the rest is history, right?
- 1:57:12Like stock went from 2:00 to 456781012 it it peaked at 39
- 1:57:18that summer. And so that was a huge game
- 1:57:21changer. It was a big validation point
- 1:57:23where I think all the skeptics were like, OK, the fact that
- 1:57:27Verizon diligence this and they, they chose AST over over
- 1:57:31Starlink and they're choosing to work with AT&T and they're not
- 1:57:35only just putting money in there, they're contributing 850
- 1:57:38megahertz spectrum. That was huge.
- 1:57:41And, and that's what really changed the narrative and the
- 1:57:45the trajectory of the company. And so I think Michael Pollock,
- 1:57:49who's the head of defense business for AST, talks about
- 1:57:52how once they brought Verizon on board, like all the all the
- 1:57:56defense organizations started calling the company back and the
- 1:58:00phone started ringing off the hook because.
- 1:58:02Because that was like a true point of validation.
- 1:58:04And that, hey, these guys are going to make it like, it's not
- 1:58:06just a concept, but they're getting backed by AT&T and
- 1:58:10Verizon and of course, like, you know, Google and Vodafone and
- 1:58:13others. And so, yeah, Fast forward to
- 1:58:16today. It, it is true.
- 1:58:17It's like everybody kind of looks back and says, well, you
- 1:58:21know, at $2.00 or $3, that would have been awesome.
- 1:58:23Like I would, I would, I wish I'd bought more there.
- 1:58:25And it's like, well, no, they weren't easy buys back then
- 1:58:27because the company for all intensive purposes was, you
- 1:58:32know, that the funding, they had more than 12 months of funding,
- 1:58:35but it was unclear. And they were supposed to put up
- 1:58:37this massive consolation. Like, where's that money going
- 1:58:39to come from? And there were a lot of
- 1:58:41uncertainties. And so I think as, as it as we
- 1:58:45know in investing, you know, buying shares here is actually
- 1:58:49in many ways a lot easier, right?
- 1:58:51Because the company has over $3 billion of cash, has all these
- 1:58:54partners, has demonstrated the technology, has 6 satellites now
- 1:58:597, you know, Blue, including Blue Walker 3 orbiting the Earth
- 1:59:04and is about embarking a multi launch campaign with over, you
- 1:59:08know, with Blue Origin and SpaceX and Israel, we've
- 1:59:12overbooked our launches and so launch capacity shouldn't be an
- 1:59:15issue. And so we should get to at a
- 1:59:17minimum 45 salads, maybe, maybe up to 60 this coming year.
- 1:59:21And so, yeah, it's exciting time back.
- 1:59:23I guess the other thing I would say is back then in 2021-2022,
- 1:59:29you know, Katzie was early on about this, the military use
- 1:59:32cases and, and some of us had talked about the potential
- 1:59:36ideas, but military was not really a a key driver of the
- 1:59:42business or an opportunity at least back then.
- 1:59:44And, and when Katzie would talk about it at length, we were
- 1:59:47everyone would kind of be like, OK, yeah, that I guess that
- 1:59:50could make sense. But it was like so far fetched
- 1:59:54given where we were financially and in terms of business
- 1:59:57development. It's like, OK, I'm I'm not sure
- 1:59:59I can ascribe much value to it. But then then Fast forward to
- 2:00:01today, you've got commercial, you've got government and then
- 2:00:05you've got military use case. Which now it, it seems like
- 2:00:08abundantly clear or crystal clear, like this company's
- 2:00:12technology has a massive edge over, you know, competitors and
- 2:00:17then adversaries. And so, yeah, it's a it's a much
- 2:00:21different time. There was so much uncertainty
- 2:00:24back then and, and self doubt, like just questioning, is this
- 2:00:29company going to make it? Am I crazy?
- 2:00:31Am I have I put too much faith into this?
- 2:00:34And then coming out on the other end, as all of you can
- 2:00:38understand, it's like you're, you're it's it's, it's amazing
- 2:00:44that you stick with your conviction and come out on the
- 2:00:46other end and it's validated and, and it's beautiful.
- 2:00:50Yeah. You, you feel great for friends
- 2:00:53and family. You feel great for the company
- 2:00:56now. What a journey.
- 2:00:59Katzie, are you still? Are you still with us?
- 2:01:04I see he's trying to speak. I don't think it's working.
- 2:01:11I was going to ask him a question about something you're
- 2:01:13Speaking of, but so yeah, kind of you, you reminiscing on the
- 2:01:18past. I was just thinking like, so
- 2:01:23when this thing did kind of spec and then start going crazy, I
- 2:01:26was I was super into it because I just saw like the need for
- 2:01:30this, this service, like everyone wants service
- 2:01:32everywhere. Like I came, I came at it from a
- 2:01:35very just like obvious standpoint where I was like,
- 2:01:37wow, this is something that eventually everyone's going to
- 2:01:39need. I I go camping a lot.
- 2:01:42I like to to stay connected because I go camping.
- 2:01:44I want to watch something I listen to some music.
- 2:01:46You get stuck. So and I, I remember selling
- 2:01:49like been investing for a while, but I just remember selling
- 2:01:53shares of like Apple and square back.
- 2:01:54So I was just like selling like fidelity tech.
- 2:01:57So I was like, I just want to ASDS because this is something
- 2:02:00that's going to be amazing. And then 2021-2022 just kind of
- 2:02:05got stuck. And I remember very specifically
- 2:02:08coming. I like it came to a point in
- 2:02:11these years, like I still have the account.
- 2:02:14I was like AST stock investors and where I still post and share
- 2:02:18all the info. But I just remember kind of
- 2:02:22clocking out for a little bit and then I, I got back from my
- 2:02:25honeymoon and then like I checked the news and it was the
- 2:02:29stock was ripping. And it was like, I think we
- 2:02:31announced like a launch with SpaceX, probably Blue Walker 3.
- 2:02:37And the stock ripped from like $6 to 11.
- 2:02:39And this was like the highest My Portfolio was in years.
- 2:02:42And I was like, Oh my gosh. And they have little what I know
- 2:02:46it would fall back. Let's say.
- 2:02:49What just goes to show you is like back then I was losing my
- 2:02:54mind saying My Portfolio just reached the highest point in two
- 2:02:57years over a ride from 6 to $11. What?
- 2:03:03Like if you look at the stock this morning, we saw like a 5%
- 2:03:06swing or a $5 swing within a minute.
- 2:03:11And it's really crazy to put that in the perspective now when
- 2:03:14you see these swings and you think AST was stuck at 4 or $5
- 2:03:18for years. And I think that's, it's really
- 2:03:24us who, who, who did stick through and kind of seeing this
- 2:03:28mission unfold, definitely deserve it.
- 2:03:31And everyone in the community who does, who does like spread
- 2:03:35the knowledge because through my investing years, like mostly is
- 2:03:39trading, but like you just see people pumping, not really
- 2:03:42pumping, but just talking about all these new stocks, this new
- 2:03:46AI stock, this all these new stocks.
- 2:03:48We never really seen that community come together like
- 2:03:51this and share some like true, true due diligence and the fact
- 2:03:58that Kathy and Pan and Kook were getting stuff right before like
- 2:04:00the company even talked about it.
- 2:04:02I can't even wrap my head around, but here we are.
- 2:04:07Kathy, I'm not sure if your mic's still working.
- 2:04:15Everyone want to come up and ask any questions.
- 2:04:18Now's a good time to do so. I'm going to take a look at my
- 2:04:20list. I had a few more topics or like,
- 2:04:27hey Ahmed, do you have a question?
- 2:04:30I just wanted to share how thankful I am to the community.
- 2:04:34I started investing in ESTs when it was NPA, the SPAC.
- 2:04:40Nice. I did.
- 2:04:42I bought a lot of stock. I sold a lot of stock.
- 2:04:44Made a bit of profit, made a bit of loss, lost all of the
- 2:04:48confidence, Bought back the stock at $3.
- 2:04:53But bought very little stock, right, And I saw it ripped till
- 2:04:5712 dollars, $14.00 sold a lot of stock again, right.
- 2:05:02But Katzie cook and an an pen man, everyone right, all all the
- 2:05:09time they were trying to spread the knowledge and I had the
- 2:05:13knowledge, but I didn't have that confidence, right.
- 2:05:15So I didn't make a lot of money then.
- 2:05:16But then it taught me a good lesson.
- 2:05:19So I invested a good deal of amount I think year or a year
- 2:05:25and a half back it was a significant portion of my net
- 2:05:29worth and now I am almost 3X up on my investments this year
- 2:05:37itself right? It feels great and even when
- 2:05:41told as the lesson of taking profits when the stock reached
- 2:05:45102, I still hold on to my nerves and did not sell, did not
- 2:05:51sell when it went back to 50 and it feels great to still ride the
- 2:05:54wave ride and I feel very confident that we are going to
- 2:05:58do great things. I just wanted to share my
- 2:06:01experience with everyone and wanted to thank everyone in the
- 2:06:04community for helping us ride a very difficult wave, right?
- 2:06:08It is five years. I've seen ups and downs, was
- 2:06:11very disappointed and I lost a bunch of money on HTS as well,
- 2:06:15right. But I think it is being worth
- 2:06:18it. So we just wanted to thank
- 2:06:19everyone in the community. Hey, thanks for sharing it.
- 2:06:23Congratulations. Yeah, it's been an emotional
- 2:06:26roller coaster. And I think I think everybody
- 2:06:29who's invested in the company has experienced every emotion,
- 2:06:34emotion possible. And so I think I think in your
- 2:06:38case, yeah. By the way, like I'm not telling
- 2:06:41people, I don't tell people to like sell your entire position.
- 2:06:43But but what I've, what I've told said and I can do to this
- 2:06:48day is, is, you know, what if, if it's your, whatever you
- 2:06:52invested or if you've multiplied your previous net, well, net net
- 2:06:56worth, It does make sense at some point, like set a goal and
- 2:07:00then set it, you know, sell your net worth previously so that
- 2:07:05you've locked that in. Or maybe you have a goal 2 times
- 2:07:07your net worth. You sell that part and then you
- 2:07:09just ride the rest, right? And, and of course you have to
- 2:07:12set aside some for taxes, but I think, yeah, I mean, I've, I've
- 2:07:16heard so many stories from people who have secured their
- 2:07:21their retirement or they've secured generational wealth.
- 2:07:25And it's, it's just gratifying to hear because I think like
- 2:07:30people that come out and think me or Katzie or Kook and of
- 2:07:34course, you know, Steve and Tut and all kinds of other people.
- 2:07:37But I think it's important to recognize like this is a
- 2:07:41community and it's it's distributed and and everybody's
- 2:07:44kind of here to contribute in their own special way.
- 2:07:48And I don't think anybody would have made it this far.
- 2:07:51And, and, you know, there's, there are times when Katzie had,
- 2:07:55you know, concerns or I had concerns or kook.
- 2:07:59And, and it what if it wasn't just for example, like Steve
- 2:08:03Larrison was such a a big and giving character where there
- 2:08:07were times when, you know, I think, I think as, as someone
- 2:08:11who shares due diligence, you do, you do feel a high level of
- 2:08:14responsibility. And when the stock went to you,
- 2:08:17you felt like, oh man, did I lead people the wrong way?
- 2:08:21I must have, you know, I was wrong on this.
- 2:08:22And there were some pretty dark times back then.
- 2:08:26And I remember Stevie Larrison checking in with me, even
- 2:08:29calling me and just having a conversation and just making
- 2:08:32sure I was OK. And that's, that's, that's like,
- 2:08:36you know, beyond monetary things, beyond this stock, I
- 2:08:39mean, in some ways, like this stock is, is something of
- 2:08:42interest and it's brought us together and, and the side
- 2:08:45benefit is like this tremendous financial reward, which has been
- 2:08:48unbelievable. But the friendships and then
- 2:08:51just having this common interest, 'cause I, I, it's
- 2:08:55weird. It's like I have, I probably
- 2:08:56have a more daily connection with people in the space mop
- 2:09:02than any friends in real life. And so, but yeah, it's been a
- 2:09:06tremendous five years. And it's great to hear stories
- 2:09:09like that where I think this company, it, it, it's, it's cool
- 2:09:15because like we're, we're supporting this company and
- 2:09:18their mission. And it's actually a good mission
- 2:09:20to bring connectivity to those who are unconnected.
- 2:09:24And, you know, for my personal life, it's, it's going to know,
- 2:09:28I'm going to know that my, my family is safe because they're
- 2:09:31going to have connectivity no matter, no matter where they
- 2:09:33are. But but yeah, it's, it's cool to
- 2:09:36be invested in a company like that where you're, you're
- 2:09:38changing the world, right? And you're bringing broadband
- 2:09:40connectivity to people who otherwise wouldn't have it.
- 2:09:44And so wow, what a unique and unique journey.
- 2:09:47So thanks, Amit, for sharing. I really appreciate it.
- 2:09:50And, and thank you. I just had one question in the
- 2:09:54presentation, right. They mentioned that they had
- 2:09:57agreement with Singapore Defense.
- 2:10:01Corporation right they were exploring was this mentioned
- 2:10:04anywhere in their investor edition talks before
- 2:10:08representation. This is the first time I'm
- 2:10:09hearing this. Yeah, there there was APR.
- 2:10:13I think it was like over the summer.
- 2:10:16Maybe it was a tweet, but but I can, I can go back and find it.
- 2:10:19But yeah, they're there. That was they announced that I
- 2:10:23think it wasn't a full press release.
- 2:10:25Maybe. Yeah, actually maybe it was.
- 2:10:26But but yeah, it's it's, it's, it's in the it's I think it was
- 2:10:30over summer. But but yeah, the company, I
- 2:10:33guess one, the only criticism that I would have with the
- 2:10:35company is that there's so much going on.
- 2:10:37They they tend to be press shy. Like they will only PR the big
- 2:10:41stuff which is actually good because like the company is not
- 2:10:44about being over promotional but sometimes these smaller things
- 2:10:48kind of get lost in the cracks. Sure.
- 2:10:50Thank you. Thank you.
- 2:10:51I appreciate it. Thank you.
- 2:10:55I think that like just just hearing you both talk there, I
- 2:10:58think it really shows that this this community is is special and
- 2:11:03unique ways that we all have this kind of like we've
- 2:11:07definitely built CME swings. We definitely have this like
- 2:11:10mental toughness that we've taught ourselves and for a
- 2:11:13common purpose. Like my my one friend who just
- 2:11:17kind of recently got to investing, he talks to me about
- 2:11:22it and he's like, oh, I'm going to try to sell when it's 80,
- 2:11:26read back, buy when it's 40. And I just tell him, I've
- 2:11:29watched the stock for so long. I don't really care where it's
- 2:11:32wings. If the constellation is now like
- 2:11:35up and running, I'm not really going to going to think about it
- 2:11:38like that because why spend every day like staring at the
- 2:11:41stock price? Oh, I hope it's this.
- 2:11:42Oh, I want to make this. It's just good to look at the
- 2:11:46mission overall and teach yourself that mental kind of
- 2:11:50toughness. So when it does drop like that,
- 2:11:52you can say if you don't do have money that's deployable, like if
- 2:11:56it drops from 80 to 48, it's like, OK, this is a good
- 2:11:59opportunity. I love this company.
- 2:12:01I spend all my waking hours thinking of this company.
- 2:12:05I can add more at a more reasonable price and then just
- 2:12:08wait it out because we know where this mission is headed.
- 2:12:12So why kind of get in your own head about it?
- 2:12:15Why always be like worked up over it?
- 2:12:18I think it's good to relax and just be happy.
- 2:12:21Like hearing Ahmed's story there, It's like so many of
- 2:12:24these investors have tried to trade it, have seen it go all
- 2:12:28these different crazy ways. But people who have believed in
- 2:12:34the company and just have kind of held and have taught
- 2:12:36themselves are now kind of have taught themselves this mental
- 2:12:41toughness. And I think it's very
- 2:12:43impressive. So we do have a question here
- 2:12:45from stock meetups. Hey, how?
- 2:12:48How's it going? Hey, Goodman.
- 2:12:51Hey, Congrats to Anton man. Yeah, I think go right ahead.
- 2:12:57Yeah, about my story. Yeah.
- 2:13:01So, So first thing is I'm super happy.
- 2:13:04One for ISRO, second is for ASTS especially because ISRO is the
- 2:13:10same state where I was born when I was.
- 2:13:14So ISRO and DRDO are the two important key institutions for
- 2:13:19Indian government. They started investing back in
- 2:13:22late 90s to become really good in terms of I.
- 2:13:35Think you might to. To see this.
- 2:13:37Yeah, I'm, yeah. So I'm, I'm really excited for
- 2:13:41ISRO, especially, you know, succumbing to the stage and
- 2:13:46doing the biggest launch for them.
- 2:13:48And I'm expecting a tweet from the Prime Minister as well,
- 2:13:52because he generally wants to do some kind of PR and marketing
- 2:13:56for ISRO. Because the actual just weeded.
- 2:13:58Oh, that's good. Yeah, that's what I was saying
- 2:14:00in in other group to Modi. Prime Minister.
- 2:14:05Oh, nice. Oh really?
- 2:14:07That's awesome. Yeah, I was just texting to and
- 2:14:10Penman in other group. Hey, you know, we should tag
- 2:14:13Modi because he will generally tweet and we should make that
- 2:14:17that's. Awesome, He also talked about.
- 2:14:20You manifested it. Yeah.
- 2:14:23So for for my story, I mean we all we all invested in a lot of
- 2:14:28specs during the spec boom in back in 2020 and 21.
- 2:14:32And I've seen My Portfolio go down by 80% in 22 and 23.
- 2:14:37But we held on to the note I started investing in like log at
- 2:14:41lab and ESDS and few other good specs which are which are good
- 2:14:45founder LED. And I used to chat a lot with
- 2:14:47the cook and and penman. Hey, this is a good concept and
- 2:14:51etcetera. You know, like when are we going
- 2:14:53to see the big, you know, big launches?
- 2:14:56It was really nerve, nerve breaking.
- 2:14:58But we are we all, we all held on to the stocks.
- 2:15:01I was able to, you know, keep a lot of warrants and sometimes
- 2:15:05warrants went to point like 20 cents, $0.10 also and stock went
- 2:15:09to $2.00 still added more average down because I, I
- 2:15:17believed in Abel and then I looked at his oral history, how
- 2:15:21he solved the submarine communication problem with the
- 2:15:25emerging communication his, his previous company.
- 2:15:28It was pretty impressive how he tried to solve the, the
- 2:15:33submarine communication problem because it's little hard problem
- 2:15:35to solve and he doesn't talk too much and you know, he's, he's
- 2:15:39very, very focused on it. And then when ISRO started being
- 2:15:43part of this whole, you know, STS, it, it got very excited as
- 2:15:48well because but ISRO, this is a big launch.
- 2:15:51A they are, they're putting a lot of efforts because if this
- 2:15:54gets successful, it's good for them as well to get more
- 2:15:57business. And especially when I saw the
- 2:16:00chief head of ISRO and I'm going to Tirupati, which is a very
- 2:16:05famous temple. It's probably one of the top
- 2:16:06three temples India where close to 150,000 people visit every
- 2:16:10day. It's it's one of the very, very
- 2:16:12important table table. I'm super excited, you know,
- 2:16:16seeing it today. And then couple of months ago
- 2:16:21when I went to the first met conference, just as a, you know,
- 2:16:27as an audience, which happened in, you know, in Bellevue, WA, I
- 2:16:32was even more excited because they these people were having a
- 2:16:34lot of problems the first met and was then I was explaining to
- 2:16:38about them to ACS and etcetera. You know, some people knew it,
- 2:16:42some people didn't knew it. So I think, OK, we are too
- 2:16:44early. So that's good.
- 2:16:45I mean, so we are still in early game.
- 2:16:47So we are we are investing into a great tech and the Spacio, the
- 2:16:54overall, you know what the big beautiful bill, I think it will
- 2:16:58come into effect in on January 1st, which is next week.
- 2:17:02And the National Defence authorization.
- 2:17:05It's it's and the rate cuts and charity SAC Man.
- 2:17:08I think we have everything, you know, lined up at the right
- 2:17:11time. I think someone was saying if
- 2:17:13this all of the things happened in the previous administration,
- 2:17:16yeah, you won't get this kind of push.
- 2:17:18I think we are and now OUS is trying to compete, especially
- 2:17:25the in all the markets, especially on the commercial
- 2:17:27defense, agricultural and robotics.
- 2:17:30Wrong technology. The Asts will be very useful
- 2:17:35even though they are doing right now 5G and then there was an EO
- 2:17:40sign which was, you know, yesterday if I'm not wrong on
- 2:17:43the 6G as well as a national security.
- 2:17:46I'm thinking Asts will play a very, very vital role on that
- 2:17:49aspects. And the other important thing
- 2:17:52because I, I work in AI and data center to an extent.
- 2:17:57So especially on the AI side, if you look at it right, there is
- 2:18:03probably REW and Asts who are building large solar arrays and
- 2:18:11the tech that these folks are built, management of the large
- 2:18:14solar tech of the OR the solar arrays, that is very, very
- 2:18:18critical even for data centers too.
- 2:18:21So I may not be surprised if there would be some partnership
- 2:18:24of Asts with some other big place.
- 2:18:27I mean, so Google is already an investor who knows, like Sundar
- 2:18:31and somebody else would be already discussing about
- 2:18:34launching their data center in space with some of the tech ACS
- 2:18:38has built for larger solar arrays because they know that
- 2:18:41spec. And so I'm super psyched up with
- 2:18:45all the opportunities, what we have.
- 2:18:48Yeah, yeah. No, it's an exciting time.
- 2:18:51So I guess from your perspective and you know a lot of people
- 2:18:55there, what do you think is the impact of this?
- 2:18:58Because I, I, I know this is a historic and, you know,
- 2:19:02extraordinary event for India and a big source of pride.
- 2:19:05But I guess how do you think it does this spread awareness for
- 2:19:10the company and and how do how are people in India viewing this
- 2:19:14event? I think one right first thing is
- 2:19:19I don't know whether AST is already logged in a partner yet
- 2:19:23in India. They they do have a version with
- 2:19:25Vodafone ID ATA right? Yeah, Vodafone, Yeah, Yeah, I
- 2:19:28think but once, because like Modi has said this etcetera, I
- 2:19:32think this will go into the mainstream with Adani and
- 2:19:35Ambanis and which are the two 2 richest guys there, right?
- 2:19:38And they are Reliance, the mobile network and the other
- 2:19:43mobile networks they're also going to bring.
- 2:19:48Hey, I'm not sure what happened. I think, I think, I think ASD
- 2:19:53Space Mob, I think he shut it down by the other one early, but
- 2:19:59either relaunched. I think he just relaunched here.
- 2:20:03Let me just tell him to come over here one second.
- 2:20:09Oh yeah, he's come back. We add stock beat UPS back.
- 2:20:18I guess there was technical difficulties.
- 2:20:20I I think, I think we might have matched out the time.
- 2:20:23Oh really? Is there?
- 2:20:24Is there? Maybe 4 hours, I don't know.
- 2:20:28I don't think there is because I've, I know people have had
- 2:20:31these like really long marathon spaces.
- 2:20:35Got it. Well, yeah, my apologies.
- 2:20:37I I don't really just kind of I one of my app is that you've
- 2:20:39been disconnected. I re pick a hit the spaces and
- 2:20:42it just said it's it's over. Hey, stock meet up.
- 2:20:46Sorry you got cut off there. Yeah, yeah, I think.
- 2:20:49It's a huge, yeah, I think it would be a huge push for overall
- 2:20:54this, I mean, STS as a tech, right?
- 2:20:57Because so far what I've seen in the Indian, you know, when you
- 2:21:01talk with the normal public there, I mean, so like whenever
- 2:21:05I visit, generally on vacations, they talk about, you know, star
- 2:21:08link, but they don't understand the difference between a
- 2:21:11broadband connectivity versus D2C, right?
- 2:21:14But now with this strong push from Modi and etcetera on the
- 2:21:18PR, this will become a mainstream because first time
- 2:21:21Israel has largest, largest. And also it suggests is that
- 2:21:28they use something new tech for, you know, for the first time
- 2:21:31they, they, they'll also be a push for this new tech as well.
- 2:21:35This was the, I think this was the 100th Israel launch, right?
- 2:21:42That's right there. There was something like I think
- 2:21:44it was this might have been the 100th launch.
- 2:21:45But but yeah, I mean, the company AST has been pretty
- 2:21:50focused on the Indian market. For example, we opened up a an
- 2:21:53office in Iberidad. Is that how you pronounce it?
- 2:21:57Yeah. And then, yeah.
- 2:21:59And then Vodafone Idea, we signed on recently and, and you
- 2:22:03know, we've all speculated that this, this giving them the first
- 2:22:07block to launch was probably going to, from a political
- 2:22:12perspective, kind of ease regulatory approvals.
- 2:22:15Because we, we, you know, I think the Indian market in
- 2:22:18general is, I wouldn't, I don't know if it's notorious, but, but
- 2:22:22getting regulatory approval there, for example, for
- 2:22:24Starling's too. I'm, and so, so I, I, I think
- 2:22:29launching on Israel and, and, you know, having an office there
- 2:22:35and, and obviously employees there, I think is, is going to
- 2:22:38go a long way. But but yeah, that's really cool
- 2:22:40to hear how how this is being this is viewed by a country.
- 2:22:45Yeah, and and also the beauty of AST is the right when you
- 2:22:49compare with the start link or Cooper is a data doesn't get
- 2:22:54stored anywhere in the ASTS. It's compliment, it's actually
- 2:22:57doing complimentary work for the MN OS.
- 2:23:02I think in, in terms of data and security etcetera.
- 2:23:06I don't think Indian government will have a problem because
- 2:23:09whoever is the MN OS right either Reliance or Airtel or
- 2:23:14work on India, all those folks will go and work through those
- 2:23:18those bureaucracy problems. Right.
- 2:23:22That doesn't, it's not a problem for Asts, it's a problem for
- 2:23:24that. But if you look at Starlink,
- 2:23:27then you know Starlink has to go through and they it's, it's
- 2:23:31especially if you are in India and China.
- 2:23:33And if you are in the bureaucratic world it it it will
- 2:23:35be hard for them to trust a non. Right.
- 2:23:39The entity from the country. Right, right.
- 2:23:43Yeah, Yeah, it's we, we have a structural advantage which I
- 2:23:47think as as other countries and carriers roll out startling
- 2:23:52service, they're going to find out, yeah, it's just a matter.
- 2:23:55Of fact, right? Because once you get a lot of
- 2:23:58let's say like Vodafone implements it as responsible,
- 2:24:00etcetera, then hey, if I mean it's much easier to convince
- 2:24:05because hey, you, you look at the neighboring country or the
- 2:24:07neighboring continent, you have so many folks.
- 2:24:09It's not just our problem that becomes much more easy to get
- 2:24:12the regulatory approvals. But for Starling is a different
- 2:24:18story. Yeah, no, I agree.
- 2:24:23Why don't we? There's a few people who have
- 2:24:25come up, it is 11:30 so I want to be carved of everyone's time,
- 2:24:30including my own, but. Yeah.
- 2:24:31Do you want to, do you want to try to wrap us up?
- 2:24:34Are you good to go till 12? Go a little longer and.
- 2:24:36We can go a little longer maybe, I think.
- 2:24:38Rick Yeah. What's that?
- 2:24:42Yeah, everyone good. Yeah, I just the first thing I
- 2:24:47want to say was just really great words by me and you and
- 2:24:51Pam, man, I thought it was really inspiring.
- 2:24:54The whole thing about the the community rings true.
- 2:24:57You know, it was my friend way back in, in early 2024, hounding
- 2:25:01me about ASTS saying you got to get in, you got to get in and
- 2:25:05took me a few months after that, but you know, I'm here now and,
- 2:25:08and been along for the ride. So it's really just been it's
- 2:25:11been great and it's great to hear from the community.
- 2:25:14You know my my question here really is just watching this
- 2:25:17launch, I couldn't help but thinking.
- 2:25:19I don't love the idea of the Rockets being out of my hand.
- 2:25:23I know it went all well today, but I'm just curious like got me
- 2:25:27thinking, what are you, what are your guys's thoughts on a
- 2:25:30potential merger between ASTS and Rocket Lab Should the
- 2:25:33Neutron go live? That's a good question.
- 2:25:39I mean, it's, I think it would be kind of tough because
- 2:25:43Neutron, I, I don't know the exact specifics, but my guess is
- 2:25:46if it's comparable to Falcon 9, then you, you'd want, or you
- 2:25:51could launch 3 Bluebirds at a time.
- 2:25:53But I think, I think the companies are very different,
- 2:25:56right? And so being fully integrated,
- 2:26:02you know that because we're working.
- 2:26:04I mean, the thing about space companies is that you often
- 2:26:07times work with competitors. And, and so there's, there's
- 2:26:11that possibility that you, if you did merge with Rocket Lab,
- 2:26:14you could use their launch, but then you would still need Blue
- 2:26:17Origin New Glen. But yeah, I mean, I, I don't,
- 2:26:20I'm not sure there'd be that much in terms of synergy,
- 2:26:24because I think Rocket Lab is, is focused on launch and they're
- 2:26:27building different space systems.
- 2:26:29And I think, yeah, I mean, it's, I, I don't know if you putting 2
- 2:26:33founders that are very entrepreneurial, have a, a
- 2:26:38vision of things. I think when you, if you combine
- 2:26:42just from a organizational perspective and culture point of
- 2:26:45view, I'm not sure how well those two would meld together
- 2:26:49because obviously one one person is, is they have a vision and
- 2:26:54they're used to being in charge. When you when sometimes when you
- 2:26:57have these mergers and you have the Co Co CEO is like,
- 2:27:01eventually someone gets pushed out and then and then perhaps
- 2:27:04like, you know, execution for one side of the business kind of
- 2:27:07goes by the wayside. So yeah, yeah.
- 2:27:09Well, I mean it. It'd have to be.
- 2:27:10It'd have to. Be able of course.
- 2:27:13Yeah, but I, I think there's, there was some talk today about
- 2:27:16perhaps Rocket Lab, you know, acquire merging with ULA like
- 2:27:21that deal would make a lot of sense because I think ULA brings
- 2:27:24a lot to the table. They've got flight heritage and
- 2:27:28I'm sure there's a lot of interesting things that Rocket
- 2:27:30Lab can do with ULA and of course they don't have ACEO now.
- 2:27:34And so that deal would make a lot more sense than a Space
- 2:27:38Mobile Rocket Lab deal. If I don't think a Bell's a
- 2:27:42seller, if he ever did sell, then, you know, you're probably
- 2:27:46looking at a company that is probably servicing M and OS
- 2:27:50that's that's a better fit that way.
- 2:27:52And so maybe like a Google or an Amazon or someone, an Apple, for
- 2:27:58example. But yeah, I don't think he's a
- 2:28:00seller. Yeah, no, that makes sense.
- 2:28:02I think, you know, my, my just high level thought is you get
- 2:28:06AST and you get Brocolab together and that puts you at
- 2:28:09the scale where you can start to, you know, compete with the
- 2:28:12likes of like a SpaceX. At least just in terms of pure
- 2:28:16scale, but you know, appreciate on the CEO point, I think that
- 2:28:19makes sense. You mentioned some buyers there.
- 2:28:21I'm curious like mentioned Amazon like what at what price
- 2:28:25does this go to Amazon? Like, is that even in the realm
- 2:28:27of of possibility? I don't, I mean, I, I don't
- 2:28:32think that a Bell's a seller, but if he had to sell you or
- 2:28:37yeah, if he was open to it, a strategic buyer, like I think a
- 2:28:41Google would be a good fit because they already work with M
- 2:28:44and OS, They control Android and they service phones and they,
- 2:28:49you, you basically need to be a party that's neutral to M and
- 2:28:53OS, right. And so I think a Google could
- 2:28:56work and Apple would work very well.
- 2:29:00But then beyond that, you know, if you're talking about it in
- 2:29:03Amazon, I guess the issue there is that, you know, you have Leo,
- 2:29:06which is the renamed Kiper and fixed wireless.
- 2:29:10As we met, we've talked about, you know, Starlink front fixed
- 2:29:12wireless is actually competitive to M&O, what the M and OS, what
- 2:29:17they're doing around 5G Internet at home and then fiber.
- 2:29:20And so that's not you, you generally don't want to try to
- 2:29:23be in competition with your M and OS, which is why I think
- 2:29:26Starlink has, you know, they've, they've signed on a decent
- 2:29:29amount of direct to sell customers.
- 2:29:31But then I think no one really trusts Elan or they, you know,
- 2:29:36they, they don't want to be in competition with, with Starlink
- 2:29:40fixed wireless. And so, yeah, I I think those
- 2:29:43like Google and Apple certainly would be like good fits and and.
- 2:29:48Especially with Gemini. Yeah, yeah.
- 2:29:51Do you think Able's a buyer at all or like understand he's not
- 2:29:53a seller. Do you think he's a buyer?
- 2:29:55Like do you see any anything there?
- 2:29:58No, I don't think he's. I don't think the company is
- 2:30:01interested in buying stuff right.
- 2:30:03Like they, they've got such a huge, they've got this
- 2:30:06insurmountable wall of opportunity to attack, right.
- 2:30:09Like they've got the commercial business, they've got military.
- 2:30:12Could they do some small tuck insurance for key technologies?
- 2:30:16Yeah, maybe like one that they had to do, for example, is they
- 2:30:20had to buy thrusters from the old Astra because they couldn't,
- 2:30:25they couldn't produce those. And so that's what delayed block
- 2:30:28the Block 1 satellites. And so they had to buy, they
- 2:30:30actually, they bought a licensing agreement where they
- 2:30:32could just manufacture them themselves.
- 2:30:35But I don't really see AST being highly acquisitive of other
- 2:30:39businesses except for spectrum, right?
- 2:30:41And so when they bought Legato Spectrum in January, that was an
- 2:30:45eye opener. A lot of people are like, oh,
- 2:30:46they're not, they're straying from their mission.
- 2:30:49But I think for a Bell and Scott and and the management team,
- 2:30:53they saw an opportunity to secure highly valuable spectrum
- 2:30:56that give that gives them a lot of flexibility strategically for
- 2:31:00the future. And then lo and behold, you
- 2:31:03know, a few months later SpaceX buys Echostars Spectrum.
- 2:31:06And so that was a good move. Yeah, now that's super
- 2:31:11insightful. I'll I'll hang up and listen
- 2:31:13now. Yeah.
- 2:31:14Thanks for coming up. Just want to add a little bit
- 2:31:17more on that content. I think it's just will not my my
- 2:31:24guess is they will never be open for selling.
- 2:31:27They they would get offers from all the big tech, but I think
- 2:31:30because of the number of the collaboration partnership they
- 2:31:35have built across the world and the entire huge market shit
- 2:31:40they're going to get with commercial defence, agriculture,
- 2:31:42robotics, drones and all national security and 6G and
- 2:31:49U.S. government can become a partner itself.
- 2:31:51But I hope they don't take the US government investments.
- 2:31:55They can be independent and they actually grow super quick and
- 2:31:58super fast. It great revenues, you know
- 2:32:01coming up with this huge launches.
- 2:32:07Yeah, I agree. Let's see.
- 2:32:11Let's try to get more people here.
- 2:32:12Fool's gold. How's it going, man?
- 2:32:15Hey, good. How are you?
- 2:32:17We're good. So very, very exciting day.
- 2:32:21I'm in Dubai right now, so it's morning.
- 2:32:24Good morning. Really enjoyed watching.
- 2:32:26Really enjoyed watching the launch.
- 2:32:28Space Mob is good so I'm a total vibes investor.
- 2:32:36Basically like stock meetups back in 2021, I was buying just
- 2:32:41every different SPAC there was. And my, my name, Fool's Gold
- 2:32:51actually came from my mom saying be careful that these space
- 2:32:54stocks you're buying are not Fool's gold.
- 2:32:58And so I was a huge investor in Rocket Lab.
- 2:33:01At one point I had 150,000 shares.
- 2:33:04And at the beginning of this year, Tim, who's now Alexander
- 2:33:10had a post in regards to Asts and just really got me hooked.
- 2:33:17And so I split the investment. And I don't know if you remember
- 2:33:21specifically MPMM, but I was in Japan for a few months and
- 2:33:24literally every day there was an AMPAN Man that I saw and took
- 2:33:29pictures. And I actually won an AMPAN Man
- 2:33:32stuffed doll from a claw machine, which is if anybody
- 2:33:35knows something from a claw machine, it's like impossible.
- 2:33:39But but the signs were everywhere.
- 2:33:43And you know, it's been a crazy kind of journey now that it's a
- 2:33:48consolidated position in My Portfolio every you know, I'm a
- 2:33:53little over leveraged. So I've been a panic in a few
- 2:33:55times as the stock has gone up and down and I have been shaken
- 2:34:00out a little bit because of people don't know when you have
- 2:34:02a consolidated position at some point as the stock goes down,
- 2:34:06they re rate it and then they tell you, oh, we have to, you
- 2:34:09know, think that maybe it'll fall 90% in a day.
- 2:34:12So then your whole leverage, you know, equation changes.
- 2:34:16So I've got about 85,000 shares right now, but like super, super
- 2:34:21excited and just cannot wait for this year and for the future.
- 2:34:25And, and thank you for everything because really you,
- 2:34:28you and Kook and everybody in the community has just kept me
- 2:34:31on point. So thank everybody.
- 2:34:34Yeah, congratulations. Yeah, Congrats on making it this
- 2:34:37far. And I, I think I, I, this is the
- 2:34:40PSA. When using margin, use it
- 2:34:44sparingly, tactically and with defined parameters for short
- 2:34:48periods of time, like if you think you have edge, But for the
- 2:34:51most part, and I'm, I'm not trying to, to, you know, I'm
- 2:34:56not, I, I guess I'm just trying to say that for, for high beta
- 2:35:02stocks, like margin is not a good combination.
- 2:35:05So just be careful because often times when you have just normal
- 2:35:09volatility of them or the market moves, you might be right on
- 2:35:13your stock, but or the company's fundamentals, but the market
- 2:35:16moves against you, you get tapped out at the wrong time,
- 2:35:18right. And so, but you know, when it's
- 2:35:21working for you, it can be great.
- 2:35:23But but yeah, I'm, I'm glad to hear that, that you've got a
- 2:35:25great, great position. And yeah, this is a tremendous
- 2:35:29milestone that we've achieved tonight.
- 2:35:31And I as, as we've all said, like I think 2026 is setting up
- 2:35:35to be very, very, very good for the company.
- 2:35:38But thanks for sharing. Yeah, thank you.
- 2:35:42Let's see, ASDSFSD, do you want to?
- 2:35:45Yeah, yeah. How's it going?
- 2:35:47Thanks a lot. Yeah, thanks for everything you
- 2:35:51guys do for the community. I I kind of got into the stock.
- 2:35:56I'm I'm a newbie and I I've been in investing for, you know,
- 2:36:01decades and I some along this into the stock.
- 2:36:05Not that long ago I didn't know what I owned, so I was selling
- 2:36:10cover calls and then. Oh boy, yeah.
- 2:36:13And then I got caught. September, October and then I
- 2:36:17was like, what is this stock right?
- 2:36:20And that's when I, I was completely oblivious to this
- 2:36:23community and that's when I found you guys and then I
- 2:36:27started digging deeper and deeper and now I'm, you know,
- 2:36:32I'm, I'm deep into, I mean, it's probably one of my biggest
- 2:36:37positions now. So I had a question.
- 2:36:41So you know we're we're looking at 45 to 60 sets by end of year
- 2:36:47and you know we're looking at 45 days on average per launch.
- 2:36:54And even if you have a Falcon nine with the payload of three
- 2:36:58block block twos, we're not going to even get close to the
- 2:37:01lower bound right. So clearly we're expecting the
- 2:37:07the new client to come online. Do we have any good insight in
- 2:37:12terms of one that will come online?
- 2:37:14Cause to even get to 45, we're gonna we're gonna need to have
- 2:37:19that be the majority of the launches of this year.
- 2:37:24I don't know if you guys covered this 'cause I joined on the
- 2:37:27after the successful launch today.
- 2:37:29So any insight would be great. Yeah, thanks for coming up.
- 2:37:34Yeah. So we, we do expect after 2
- 2:37:39Falcon 9 launches, at least the way that the company had
- 2:37:42described the cadence, it was going to be two single launches
- 2:37:46and then 2 Falcon nines and then everything after was going to be
- 2:37:49New Glen. However, the company did plan
- 2:37:52contingencies and so there are extra Falcon Nines booked for
- 2:37:56this year. And so if, if Blue, if Blue
- 2:38:00Origin, New Glen can't meet its cadence that they're expecting,
- 2:38:05they I think they've overbooked to something north of 70
- 2:38:09satellites in terms of launch. And so when you talk to the
- 2:38:13company and when they've, you know, spoken in public, they've
- 2:38:17talked about overbooking and stacking, stacking launches on
- 2:38:20top of one another. So, yeah, I think, I think the,
- 2:38:25the expectation is that New Blue, Blue Origin, New Glenn.
- 2:38:29And you saw some reference to, you know, a Bell and, and Jeff
- 2:38:35Bezos and of course Adriana Cesaro's meeting last year.
- 2:38:39And, you know, everyone jokes about or this past year,
- 2:38:41everyone jokes about congratulations for what?
- 2:38:44I think that's when they they inked, they made sure that that
- 2:38:48Blue Origin was going to meet the, the cadence that they're
- 2:38:51expecting. And one of the things I think
- 2:38:54is, you know, the, the management team is in constant
- 2:38:57contact and they visit Blue Origin quite often.
- 2:39:01And so they know exactly kind of what's on the horizon.
- 2:39:04And you know, we, we actually are speculating and we'll see if
- 2:39:08it actually happens. But I think there's a pretty
- 2:39:10decent chance that that BB7 is a is going to go up on Blue
- 2:39:16Origin. New Glen in January is the, the
- 2:39:20original payload, which is the blue moon, the real Lander.
- 2:39:24I think, I forget exactly, but I don't think that's going to be
- 2:39:27ready till March. But Blue Origin, New Glen has to
- 2:39:31have four successful launches in order to be, I guess certified
- 2:39:36for government work. And so that January launch is
- 2:39:40happening regardless, right. And so I, I think there's a
- 2:39:44pretty good chance that we'll be on that, on that launch.
- 2:39:47Great. Yeah, Yeah, thanks.
- 2:39:49Just quickly, do we, do we know roughly what the the cost per
- 2:39:55launch would be for New Glen? I'm assuming it's got to be, you
- 2:39:59know, in the in the 100 million range, given that Falcon 9 is
- 2:40:04roughly 60 to 70 million. So I mean, I think based off of
- 2:40:09what I've seen, you know, in in on the tweets and here and
- 2:40:14there, I think that's right. I think the upper end, we
- 2:40:19probably have some some discounts.
- 2:40:21I would say maybe Amazon Prime discounts, but I think I think
- 2:40:26it's. You know, depending on where you
- 2:40:29re aid it's, it's anywhere between maybe 80 to $100
- 2:40:32million. So on a per satellite basis,
- 2:40:35that's that's very that gets us to where we want to be for 21 to
- 2:40:41$23 million per satellite fully baked.
- 2:40:44Awesome. Thank you.
- 2:40:46Yeah. Thanks for coming.
- 2:40:48I just saw a bell treated. Congratulations to the Prime
- 2:40:51Minister on this test for launch Blue Board 6 satellites and
- 2:40:55ISRO, the largest ever commercial communication
- 2:40:58satellite in low Earth. Orbert perfect execution.
- 2:41:01It's really cool. But I, I responded saying, hey,
- 2:41:05come chat and put that link. Yeah, you got to take your shot,
- 2:41:12you know. Yeah, yeah, you might come.
- 2:41:14He's probably going to tweet that and not open his phone or
- 2:41:17probably has a million other things to do.
- 2:41:20Yeah, let's see. Big watch.
- 2:41:23He's like hop in a space real quick.
- 2:41:25Can you imagine? That when you.
- 2:41:27Caught the game? In in India, the early majority
- 2:41:31and the late majority and the Lakers will all know of AST.
- 2:41:34At the same time, in the US, perhaps The Pioneers and the
- 2:41:38early majority knows about the AST.
- 2:41:41It's an enormous market, India, and it's also a lot of
- 2:41:45investors. Welcome back, Katzie.
- 2:41:51Hey, welcome in. Yeah, I had some very fancy
- 2:41:56audio setup that failed on me and now I'm used to my cell
- 2:41:59phone. I was going to ask you when,
- 2:42:03because MN was going in kind of the the entire journey through
- 2:42:06the ups and downs. And he brought up like how how
- 2:42:09you started pointing out the like military use case before he
- 2:42:12even probably the company even talked about.
- 2:42:14It was like kind of the thing that really like drew you to the
- 2:42:17the military aspect and thought that it was possible when
- 2:42:20everyone else just kind of looked at it as strictly
- 2:42:22communication. Yeah, there.
- 2:42:25There were a couple of mentions before the spec merger from the
- 2:42:30company and then it was a total radio silence for three years
- 2:42:34about the military aspects. But I knew from first hand what
- 2:42:42connectivity to to small radius mean for warfare.
- 2:42:48The situational awareness from sharing in real time where you
- 2:42:53are, where your friends are, waypoints where the opponent is.
- 2:42:59It will give back the advantage and the edge to the US or
- 2:43:08Western war fighter that was lost with the proliferation of
- 2:43:11sensors. US war fighters used to be apex
- 2:43:16predators or have the edge because they had better sensors.
- 2:43:21These days their pure opponents have yes, this good sensors like
- 2:43:27thermals and light vision. And so.
- 2:43:29So you need to get that edge back, and you do that by sharing
- 2:43:35the sensor data, processing it with the help of AI,
- 2:43:41redistributing the intelligence and overlaying that upon the
- 2:43:46physical world with augmented reality.
- 2:43:49And you sort of fuse this AI intelligence with the sensor
- 2:43:55input and you regain that edge. Quick, quick way to make the
- 2:44:03right decision is what wins worse.
- 2:44:06So that's what communications aspect does the AI computation
- 2:44:18know that's closest to the war fighter in the contested theatre
- 2:44:21will be in low Earth orbit because you can't do that
- 2:44:26inference on the size, weight and power constraint radius of
- 2:44:31the soldier. And the latency to go back to
- 2:44:36say, USA from a theatre far away is just the latency is too, too,
- 2:44:44too big. So, so it needs to be in low
- 2:44:46Earth orbit. You need to be able to have
- 2:44:50redundancy in the network. So low Earth orbit connectivity
- 2:44:55will provide that. And it's simply that it's, it's
- 2:45:00such a powerful thing. It's a 10 force multiplier to
- 2:45:05have that sort of real time connectivity that it will be
- 2:45:11funded and it will be fielded. And then just there, there's
- 2:45:17many aspects and layers of what you can do with, with huge face
- 2:45:21to race. There's also this missile
- 2:45:24defence aspect. Just just look at the Aegis
- 2:45:29missile destroyers or cruisers of the US Navy that they have
- 2:45:37this huge face to race for radar or sensing, sensing incoming
- 2:45:44missiles and so same with aerial warfare.
- 2:45:53The veg tails or the Sweden also has this phase three equipped
- 2:45:59aircrafts. It what's decides aerial combat
- 2:46:06is who has the best best Raiders on board aircraft and also on
- 2:46:12board drones. There was a conflict between
- 2:46:18Pakistan and India recently. None of their fighters crossed
- 2:46:23the borders, but the Indian aircrafts, they launched air to
- 2:46:27ground missiles and the Pakistanis, they used Swedish
- 2:46:33made face to ray equipped airborne early warning
- 2:46:37aircrafts. They they saw the Indian
- 2:46:39aircrafts one day lifted from their bases and they saw when
- 2:46:45they fired their missiles and they downed a few Indian
- 2:46:50aircrafts with such technology. And so that's 4.5 Gen. airborne
- 2:46:58warfare over air warfare. And the next logical leap will
- 2:47:03be to put those race in space. That will be 6th generation
- 2:47:11aerial warfare. We'll need that layer.
- 2:47:14And then that's obviously golden to sort of missile defence and
- 2:47:21knowing where long range stealth aircrafts are and hypersonics
- 2:47:25and such. You you'll need to have space
- 2:47:28based radars. So, yeah, and I could speak
- 2:47:34another couple of hours on this subject, but the I'll land
- 2:47:38there. He's got to say, I mean.
- 2:47:43If you stayed up all night, why can't we?
- 2:47:46Yeah, this is morning. You don't know.
- 2:47:49Yeah. Let's, let's see.
- 2:47:51We got periodic Twitter. Do you want to come up and say
- 2:47:54hello? You have a question Periodic.
- 2:48:00You there? OK, we're gonna move on to
- 2:48:06Lamello Mello. Hey, how's it going, guys?
- 2:48:11So first of all, I'm actually the the one who got wrecked,
- 2:48:16Tobi, who spoke earlier. So I was the friend that he was
- 2:48:20speaking about and I've obviously followed because it's
- 2:48:23topping up. You're still friends?
- 2:48:24Yes. So I've followed your guys
- 2:48:27Twitters for a while for all new updates and honestly keeping the
- 2:48:31faith throughout the whole process.
- 2:48:34And so I feel like for being involved for so long, I've
- 2:48:37definitely seen a lot of equity raises and aftermarket
- 2:48:43offerings. And I just wanted to ask,
- 2:48:46looking forward in 2026, do you see any scenario where ASTS is
- 2:48:54forced to do another offering or do you think they're pretty well
- 2:48:58fully funded with the 3 billion? Dollars of cash on hand.
- 2:49:02Because I feel like Scott and Abel over the past year have
- 2:49:04done a great job at raising at the right times.
- 2:49:09Yeah, they certainly have. They I, I think at this point, I
- 2:49:14don't really foresee them having to raise money, but I wouldn't
- 2:49:16be surprised if they do. I mean, they've got, we still
- 2:49:20have an, an ATM outstanding that they can, they can continue to
- 2:49:23tap and but if you add up all the liquidity, it's, you know,
- 2:49:27over 3 billion pro forma. But you know, this company does
- 2:49:30need capital to build satellites.
- 2:49:33However, of course, the balance will be when you know, you've
- 2:49:38got military contracts and commercial service like
- 2:49:41commercial prepayments, for example, and then non dilutive
- 2:49:44funding like import export bank funding.
- 2:49:47When you have all these things kind of coming together at the
- 2:49:49same time, you may not have to raise any more money.
- 2:49:53And and of course, when service is launched and revenues are
- 2:49:58coming in, then at some point, you know, if they've talked
- 2:50:01about, for example, having intermittent service with 25
- 2:50:04satellites, which should cover the operating expenses.
- 2:50:07But you know, if that's not going to cover CapEx.
- 2:50:09But I wouldn't be surprised if they do another raise this
- 2:50:13coming year because one of the things that is as I talked about
- 2:50:17before, is that the company has this insurmountable wall of
- 2:50:21opportunity, right? And so for example, when they
- 2:50:23raised over a billion dollars in October, I remember I talked to
- 2:50:28management and asked them, well, why'd you guys raise this money?
- 2:50:32Obviously it was at a good price because they did that convert
- 2:50:35when stock was at 96 or so. And their response was, well,
- 2:50:40you know, we, we didn't really have plans to raise money.
- 2:50:42But then the, there, there was a few opportunities that came up
- 2:50:48that they wanted to accelerate production, which I think, you
- 2:50:50know, the, my speculation is, is that Golden Dome became more of
- 2:50:55a reality. And so when you have
- 2:50:58opportunities like that, you have to put forward capital and
- 2:51:02accelerate production, right and development.
- 2:51:04And so, so it's smart that they raise money and and I wouldn't
- 2:51:08put it past them to do another race for this coming year.
- 2:51:12And that would be if they see more opportunity, that's a
- 2:51:16creative and value creative in nature and they want to pull it
- 2:51:20forward. But that said, you know, they're
- 2:51:22well positioned as they are right now and you know, they if
- 2:51:27they do raise something, it would, it would be
- 2:51:28opportunistic. But but yeah, I, I think I feel
- 2:51:33really good about where they are more so than any point in time
- 2:51:36in history because we are on this on the cusp of commercial
- 2:51:41service. And, you know, just for example,
- 2:51:43it's Saudi Telecom, that $175,000,000 just going to hit
- 2:51:47the balance sheet by the end of this year, which is ending in
- 2:51:51eight days, right. And so there's these other
- 2:51:54sources of funding that are coming together.
- 2:51:56And, and so I feel pretty good. But, but if they're, you know,
- 2:52:00like we've always said, the Bell, he's the ultimate owner
- 2:52:03operator. And if he feels the company
- 2:52:07needs to raise money, then he also gets diluted along with
- 2:52:10everyone else. And, and he he understands that
- 2:52:13trade off and will make, I believe the right decision.
- 2:52:16Yeah, Yeah, that makes sense. And then and then quickly one of
- 2:52:19the question, just, I know they're projecting the 45 to 60
- 2:52:24satellites by the end of 2026, which will give them coverage
- 2:52:28over the US, Europe, I think Japan and maybe a couple other
- 2:52:31places. Have they given guidance on when
- 2:52:35they're going to have the full 90, I think is for full capacity
- 2:52:40of worldwide connectivity? Do you have any more insight
- 2:52:44just on when that will be? They haven't given insight on
- 2:52:48that, but I think you should just extrapolate, right?
- 2:52:52Like so if we're going to get to 60 by the end of this year, then
- 2:52:56to get to 90, if, if production is really humming and they've
- 2:53:00got an additional space, production space and you know
- 2:53:04they're at that point. If if Blue Origin New Glenn is,
- 2:53:07is going up like hotcakes, then then I would assume to get to
- 2:53:1190, you're probably looking at maybe middle of second quarter
- 2:53:16of the following year or the end of second quarter.
- 2:53:18And so and Scott has talked about this idea of, of starting
- 2:53:23to launch mid band Bluebirds I think at the end of 2026.
- 2:53:27And so they're going to start building some of those too.
- 2:53:31And so it's not just a matter of the low band constellation, but
- 2:53:34putting up the second shell. So, so, yeah, I mean, what we'll
- 2:53:38we'll obviously have to see, but before thinking about that, I
- 2:53:42think we should just focus on getting the the 45 to 60 up
- 2:53:45first, which is clearly what the company's trying to do.
- 2:53:48So yeah, yeah, I would agree. Well, thank you guys so much.
- 2:53:52I really appreciate everything you guys have done for the
- 2:53:54stock. Yeah, thanks for coming up.
- 2:53:59Hey, Tanner's here. What's up, Tanner?
- 2:54:03Hey, hey, guys. How are you doing tonight?
- 2:54:06Good. Where are you?
- 2:54:07We, well, I'm in, in California with a couple buddies that been
- 2:54:13invested from the the start and we decided we got approval from
- 2:54:17our wives. We're going to the casino, but
- 2:54:20we're, we're on our way. So we figured, hey, let's jump
- 2:54:23in and say say hi to everyone you know?
- 2:54:26What are you guys in the car? Hi.
- 2:54:29But no, just wanted to say hey to to Kat and and then pan and.
- 2:54:33You know, we we were. It's been what, a five year
- 2:54:36journey at this point or so. Yeah, man, it's you know, we, we
- 2:54:41thought it would be a a bit sooner, but it's, it's nice that
- 2:54:44it's finally, finally happened. So it, you know, and it will
- 2:54:48have another one here in a month And man, it's, it's a good
- 2:54:51feeling for sure. How you guys feeling?
- 2:54:55Great. Yeah, it's, I will say I, I do
- 2:54:59an annual guys trip to Vegas, but I had missed it for several
- 2:55:02years and then I, I finally decided to go back because there
- 2:55:06was things to celebrate this past May.
- 2:55:09And so it was fun sharing the story makes tea with with some
- 2:55:13of the guys. And, but, but I will say, like
- 2:55:15going to Vegas or just going on vacation after being a shoulder
- 2:55:20and, and coming out the other side.
- 2:55:23I don't know, it just gives you an extra hop in your step and a
- 2:55:25new meeting when you take time off.
- 2:55:28Yeah, for sure. No, it's been it's it's been a
- 2:55:31fun, fun journey with these guys.
- 2:55:33It's it's funny, one of one of the guys, he's actually moving
- 2:55:35to Midland. So we'll see if we can't, oh
- 2:55:37really can't work that work an angle there, you know, but do
- 2:55:42you? Want to apply for a janitor job?
- 2:55:44Yeah, yeah, he he, he might. Or his, you know, maybe one of
- 2:55:48his his children at two years old will apply for a janitor job
- 2:55:51or something. I think.
- 2:55:53I think they need people with small hands to build some of the
- 2:55:57microns. Some children underage
- 2:56:00employees. Yeah, no, no, I mean it's, it's
- 2:56:04just you know, I I tweeted it earlier and I think you guys
- 2:56:08probably feel the same. You know, it was one thing to
- 2:56:10see this launch tonight and and successful is great, but like
- 2:56:14the bigger deal is, you know, this is the start of, like you
- 2:56:17said, the 45 to 60 and there's another one here soon.
- 2:56:22And it it's just it's it's it's cool and it's it's great for
- 2:56:26that that the whole team right AST and and all of us.
- 2:56:31Yeah, totally. By the way, for everyone who's
- 2:56:34listening, who doesn't, who don't know Tanner, everyone
- 2:56:37should follow Tanner. Tanner is actually a key
- 2:56:40contributor to the space mob. He, he does a lot of really
- 2:56:44detailed due diligence and he's a great guy.
- 2:56:47And he he comes from a oil and gas background and he's been
- 2:56:51able to apply his skills to a tremendous amount of like
- 2:56:55sleuthing work, which has been very valuable.
- 2:56:58Yeah, it's, it's, it's interesting actually from the
- 2:57:00oil and gas standpoint. So I actually, I actually work
- 2:57:02in a, a field and we have, I, I think I've mentioned this before
- 2:57:06to some folks, but we have 15,000 wells or so and each well
- 2:57:09cost like 10 grand to hook up to data, data services.
- 2:57:16And so, you know, if you can put a simple 5G cell chip verse
- 2:57:21putting up a mast with RF coms, you know, it saves a lot of
- 2:57:25money. And then not only that, but
- 2:57:27there's a field out on the coast of California and Ventura that
- 2:57:32half the field doesn't have any cell service.
- 2:57:34And so when I did jobs, they had to drive 10/15/20 minutes up to
- 2:57:41the top of a hill to get cell service.
- 2:57:44And so there's some applicability for, for us to, to
- 2:57:51utilize here someday in the future for sure.
- 2:57:54So, so definitely, definitely feel it in that regard as well.
- 2:57:59But no, the, I guess the only other thing I was going to say
- 2:58:02is just excited to see everyone again here, here hopefully in a,
- 2:58:06a month or two. Last time was fantastic.
- 2:58:09And tonight it really, really hit home.
- 2:58:11You know how excited we are to, to get that again.
- 2:58:14Even my wife, some of you met my wife at the launch and she, she
- 2:58:17had no idea what she was getting herself into.
- 2:58:21She for, for some of you, you may know this, others you may
- 2:58:25not. I I invested all of her
- 2:58:28retirement accounts into ASC and it went down like 5060%.
- 2:58:34And it was, she didn't know, which was great for me, but
- 2:58:39because I never told her and she didn't log in, but it was a bit
- 2:58:43nerve wracking. Now it feels great.
- 2:58:45Now it feels great. But she, when we went to the
- 2:58:47launch, she had no idea how much we we had invested.
- 2:58:51And I didn't tell her up until recently.
- 2:58:52So it's a, it's been fun, but, but tonight she watched the
- 2:58:56launch with me and my buddies and, and she was excited and
- 2:59:00ready to go to another one. So that was that was kind of
- 2:59:02cool because it's a. Let's be honest, it's a bit of a
- 2:59:05nerdy thing to to see, but yeah, it's a it's a fun and fun story
- 2:59:10for us. Yeah, I guess that's a reminder
- 2:59:14that, you know, there, there will be additional launches in,
- 2:59:19in Cape Canaveral And so, well, you know, I'll definitely be
- 2:59:22there. I'll see many of you there and
- 2:59:25it's OK. Like if you miss one, there's
- 2:59:27going to be so many more to go to.
- 2:59:30And I think one of the questions that I had was whether or not
- 2:59:34the Blue Origin New Glen launches will be capacity
- 2:59:37constrained in terms of attendance attendees.
- 2:59:40And I think that's probably going to be the case because I
- 2:59:43think on a Falcon 9, it's not as if people from from SpaceX want
- 2:59:48to show up and, and watch launch.
- 2:59:49But I'm assuming for the Blue Origin ones, there's probably
- 2:59:52going to be Blue Origin guests there as well.
- 2:59:55So there may not be as much room for AC space mobile folks.
- 2:59:59So. I think in the coming months
- 3:00:01when the company has to make decisions of who it can buy,
- 3:00:04invite, be kind, because there's just going to be so many of
- 3:00:08these things to go to. And so, and I, I would
- 3:00:12recommend, you know, making a trip out of it.
- 3:00:14Like if you have kids, go down to Disney World and Universal
- 3:00:17and and definitely visit the museum down there.
- 3:00:20But but yeah, it's a great time because I think I I haven't met
- 3:00:23a single person in the space mob or, you know, an investor in AST
- 3:00:27space mobile who hasn't been a really kind and and, you know,
- 3:00:31fun person. And the last time, the the last
- 3:00:35two trips that I've been, I've went to they they've just been a
- 3:00:38ton of fun. So, so yeah, it's great, but it
- 3:00:44let me see. Let's bring up Thomas.
- 3:00:47Are you there? Yeah.
- 3:00:49What's up? What's up?
- 3:00:50Thanks for thanks for having me. How's it going?
- 3:00:53It's awesome. It's good to good to chat with
- 3:00:55you, man. I'm always appreciating the due
- 3:00:57diligence, the. What are spaces from yourself?
- 3:01:00Wait a second, are you the guy who took a picture of the bell?
- 3:01:03Yeah, yeah. I'm looking I'm looking dude,
- 3:01:07that was I got into this stock October, early October when they
- 3:01:12announced the Bluebird 6 like being shipped out.
- 3:01:16That's when I went all in at like 53 dollars or something and
- 3:01:21then it was very quickly like a spiral down into fuck.
- 3:01:24I got to learn more about this company and everything else and,
- 3:01:28and then eventually I ran into him.
- 3:01:30It's the craziest thing I've ever done.
- 3:01:31I went, so wait, you guys tell us a story Like how did you run
- 3:01:35into a bell randomly? It sounds like it was.
- 3:01:38Did you stalk the guy? Like didn't put a tracker on his
- 3:01:41car, Nothing like that. So I was, I was, I'm like, I
- 3:01:46live sort of nearby Midland. I was taking a flight to Dallas
- 3:01:49and I was like, hey, you know what?
- 3:01:50Let me just stop by Midland. Let me pop by check it out, make
- 3:01:53sure it's real, right? So I go there I, I drive in like
- 3:01:57around the building and I'm like, oh cool, it's real.
- 3:01:59It's, you know, not like a like a hologram.
- 3:02:02So. I'm coming in.
- 3:02:05Fight, there's not much going on there and then.
- 3:02:07I see a bald guy I kind of feel like could.
- 3:02:09It be Scott. Nah, it's not Scott.
- 3:02:11It's not Scott. So I just like drive off.
- 3:02:13Then I go to the second side and I actually miss.
- 3:02:15My like turn in. To to whatever which Rd.
- 3:02:19I was going to. So I miss that.
- 3:02:20And I'm like, fuck, I got to go all the way around.
- 3:02:22So I circle all the way around. I go back.
- 3:02:24Eventually find it. Get to the.
- 3:02:26Second sign, I'm kind of just hanging out listening to music.
- 3:02:29I'm just like chatting with the security guard and I'm about to
- 3:02:32leave and like right as I'm about to leave.
- 3:02:35I kind of noticed this truck. Pull up and I'm like I only see
- 3:02:38the guy's side profile but like. You know I've I've seen so many
- 3:02:42memes of a bell, right? Just on Twitter.
- 3:02:46Oh my God. So I'm like, yeah, I kind of is,
- 3:02:49is. Could be is Could this be?
- 3:02:50Our guy, it could be our guy. And I'm like, yeah, I think it
- 3:02:53could be at this point, I'm like, dude, I don't want to be a
- 3:02:55crazy fucking fanatic like, hey, Abel, big fan, you know, love
- 3:02:59your company, love this, you know, yeah, but you got to screw
- 3:03:03your shot. Yeah, exactly.
- 3:03:04I'm like, dude, that's. Gonna go on space.
- 3:03:08Somebody's now or never. So I I like step out of the car.
- 3:03:11I kind of like wave. He like, rolls the window down
- 3:03:14and I'm like, I think the first thing I said was like, hey, can
- 3:03:17I talk to you for 30 seconds or something?
- 3:03:19He's like, and he pointed. He's like, he's kind of has to
- 3:03:21go in. And I'm like, OK, well, hey, big
- 3:03:24fan, love your work. And I said some fangirly shit
- 3:03:26like that. But he was super suite.
- 3:03:28We had like a like a small chat afterwards.
- 3:03:32Yeah. And then I got it.
- 3:03:34Man, if you, if you've ever and ampan can speak to this or
- 3:03:37someone, many people can if you've ever met him and at
- 3:03:42launch the block 1 super down to earth.
- 3:03:47And relax and and and friendly, I mean, just a a real genuine
- 3:03:51guy. Yeah, that's what I picked up
- 3:03:53from the 15 second interaction I had with him.
- 3:03:57We shook hands and I let him go inside and I was like, I was
- 3:04:00smiling ear to ear. I was texting all of my friends
- 3:04:03and just just on cloud 9. Anyway, such a cool story.
- 3:04:08Yeah, he's he's when they talk about Aura aura farming.
- 3:04:12He's, he's got aura. Like I remember I, I met with
- 3:04:16him at a hotel here in New York in 2023.
- 3:04:21He was here for some conference. And so I was able to speak with
- 3:04:25him for about an hour. And yeah, he's just a really
- 3:04:28nice guy, super approachable and like bit, bit determined,
- 3:04:33motivated, like very nice. But you can tell like the guy's
- 3:04:36a killer, killer in a sense of, you know, he's, he's all about
- 3:04:40execution. And like, I'm sure he's a sweet
- 3:04:43guy to someone like me. But then when you're working
- 3:04:46with him, he, he demands like the highest level of, of
- 3:04:49excellence, right. And what was cool was I remember
- 3:04:52asking him questions about funding and, and, you know,
- 3:04:56execution. And he was just like 100% sure
- 3:04:59of himself. He was like, oh, yeah, it's
- 3:05:00going to happen. Like, don't worry, you know,
- 3:05:03funding is not an issue. We're going to have this, we're
- 3:05:05going to do this. And and you can tell like the
- 3:05:08guy, he's, he's the type of person where he's not worried
- 3:05:12about minutia. He's he's all about execution.
- 3:05:15Like it's going to happen, right.
- 3:05:16And so that's the type of person you want in the, the CEO seat,
- 3:05:21someone who can lead and, and instills confidence and believes
- 3:05:26in what he's doing. And so, so yeah, that's a really
- 3:05:28cool, cool story. Cool picture too.
- 3:05:33Thanks. Yeah.
- 3:05:35Yeah, great, great picture. I was, I was just surprised that
- 3:05:38he was wearing, you know, like a a store T-shirt from the store.
- 3:05:43I thought that was interesting to see.
- 3:05:46He's got that Jensen Huang black leather jacket look too.
- 3:05:53I think that's that's super cool and relatable and I it's it's
- 3:05:57cool in the picture like he he seems super happy to meet him.
- 3:06:00And I think I just told you about Aceo.
- 3:06:02He likes people there are following the mission.
- 3:06:05But on that note, and and I'm probably going to hop off.
- 3:06:07I'm going to stay in the spaces, but I won't be able to talk.
- 3:06:09So I'm going to head to bed, but I will listen in.
- 3:06:11It was it was great hosting this launch party with you and I
- 3:06:15appreciate. It but yeah, no thanks.
- 3:06:16Thanks for setting it up and and hooking up YouTube.
- 3:06:19I know that's that must have been a real pain.
- 3:06:22Actually, I think I think it's probably a good time to to end
- 3:06:24it now because I've got to get to bed too.
- 3:06:26Yeah, I just looked at the clock and I'm like, I'm like, we could
- 3:06:29go all night. But yeah, tomorrow's Christmas.
- 3:06:33Yeah, everyone. Fish ways Christmas Eve in New
- 3:06:36York and it's a great way to kind of spend it with the and
- 3:06:40spend the holidays with a nice Bluebird launch and another on
- 3:06:42the way. Yeah, what a great Christmas
- 3:06:45present. Happy holidays, everyone, and
- 3:06:47thanks for joining. And yeah, we'll see.
- 3:06:50I mean, I guess the market's open for half day tomorrow,
- 3:06:52which is nice. But but yeah, I just, I just
- 3:06:56tweeted out that Bloomberg just wrote an article headline.
- 3:07:00The headline of this article is AST Space Mobile launch's
- 3:07:03biggest satellite to challenge SpaceX.
- 3:07:04Let's go. Man, I love that.
- 3:07:06That's a huge job. Everyone shared recently.
- 3:07:08Could get. Yeah, everyone to go share it.
- 3:07:13And I, I will say there's been quite a few Spaceball members
- 3:07:17actually speaking with this journalist.
- 3:07:19And so we might get an article at some point in the new year
- 3:07:23just specifically about Space Bob.
- 3:07:24So something else to look forward to.
- 3:07:26Got a word? As always, yeah, thanks.
- 3:07:29Thanks everyone for joining and appreciate everyone who came up
- 3:07:33and shared and thanks AC space mob for hosting and doing a
- 3:07:39great job. Thanks, Katzie.
- 3:07:41And yeah, let's, let's, let's see what tomorrow brings and
- 3:07:45what, what an exciting day. I'm going to probably the reason
- 3:07:48why I wanted to get off too is I want to watch the the broadcast
- 3:07:51again and just go to bed. Everyone, thanks for joining and
- 3:07:56we'll catch up again soon. What's what's in the what's the
- 3:07:59end the year strong? You guys have a good one.
