Erik Cantu, the 17-year-old shot by a former San Antonio cop in 2022, was arrested again Monday for felony evading arrest — his seventh charge since 2022. The arrest came just hours after the district attorney dropped charges against Officer James Brennand, who was fired for shooting Cantu unarmed in a McDonald’s parking lot. The DA had sought to delay Brennand’s trial to investigate a potential terroristic threat Cantu allegedly made this month, but a judge denied the delay, forcing the dismissal.
