- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
- 0:04Hope that everybody had a great weekend out there, got
- 0:06yourselves nice and recharged and prepared for the week to come. Now,
- 0:12last week, we heard some pretty explosive testimony from Juana Lessi,
- 0:17Jeffrey Epstein's at ex butler slash housekeeper. We also heard
- 0:21testimony from a couple of the police officers who were
- 0:26involved in the first raid of Jeffrey Epstein's Palm Beach
- 0:29house in two thousand and five. We heard from one
- 0:34of the accusers, one of the survivors themselves, and we
- 0:38also heard from several other people. Now this next week,
- 0:44I expect it to be more of the same. I
- 0:47would hope though, that the prosecution swings a very big
- 0:53hammer in this upcoming week, because I have to be
- 0:56honest with you, folks, I am not too confident in
- 1:00the prosecution. I am not too confident in the federal government.
- 1:07And the more the case moves forward, and the more
- 1:11we see the pattern of the defense just absolutely hammering
- 1:19every witness that's brought up by the prosecution, I would
- 1:24hope that the prosecution has a few big swings of
- 1:27their own coming up because I didn't see much of that.
- 1:31In week one, I saw, you know, some pretty devastating
- 1:36testimony being given by Jane and the specialists as far
- 1:43as the police officers who were involved in the first
- 1:45rad they offered some nice context. But I've never been
- 1:49a fan of Juana Lessi's and I think that he
- 1:52is a pretty weak witness. Now, he does establish that
- 1:58these girls, or at least some of these girls were
- 2:01at the property, were there with Maxwell. He did establish
- 2:04some of that stuff right and build a bit of
- 2:07a foundation, but it was also broad to light that
- 2:12he stole money from Epstein, tried to steal a gun
- 2:15from Epstein, all kinds of other things that you know,
- 2:19the defense is going to latch onto. Now, with that said,
- 2:22no witness is perfect, right, You're not going to have
- 2:25a perfect witness who comes up there and gives the
- 2:28perfect testimony, and a lot of times when someone does,
- 2:32that's a bit concerning too, right, because you're wondering, is
- 2:35this stage did they fake this? Did they come up
- 2:37with this as part of some sort of scam or plot?
- 2:41So I just think that the defense is using a
- 2:47scorched earth policy right now, and I can't really blame them. Honestly,
- 2:52they don't really have any other way to go. But
- 2:55I still find it to be gross and disgusting. Now,
- 2:58not so much when they're hamming bring people like a Lessie,
- 3:01by the way, want a Lessi's fair game up on
- 3:04that stand, and he should get absolutely hammered by both sides.
- 3:08And that goes for every single one of these witnesses.
- 3:11I think that when you have a survivor up there, however,
- 3:16perhaps the absolute destruction of their character is not the
- 3:22right way to go. And again, this is just somebody
- 3:25who is observing this right. I'm not a lawyer. I
- 3:28you know, I took a criminal justice one oh one
- 3:31in college and decided very quickly that that wasn't the
- 3:35pathway for me. So again, I'm certainly not a lawyer.
- 3:38I'm not a journalist. I just curate this news and
- 3:41comment on it. But you know, you would think that
- 3:47the defense is going to continue on this path, and
- 3:50it's going to be up to the prosecution to bite
- 3:53down on their mouthpiece and really come out swinging, because
- 3:58they're going to have to push the ball here. They're
- 4:00going to have to really set the tone. And I
- 4:04hope that as we move forward and into this week,
- 4:06they're going to bring some more witnesses up to the
- 4:09stand that are going to do just that because they're
- 4:14building the foundation. I could see the way the prosecution's going, right.
- 4:18We can all see how they're building these blocks to
- 4:22continue their argument to frame it as Maxwell not only
- 4:26was Epstein's buddy, but that she also had a leadership
- 4:29role here and took part in abusing these girls. So
- 4:33I could see what they're doing. I can see how
- 4:36they're trying to build this case, but I don't think
- 4:42that they're going hard enough. Like I've said a million
- 4:47times before, this should be a Rico case. There's not
- 4:51even a doubt about it in my mind. And that
- 4:54was just reaffirmed to me over the weekend when I
- 4:57was talking to one of my friends from high school
- 4:59who is a lawyer, and him and I were having
- 5:03a pretty detailed conversation about Rico in general and talking
- 5:08about this case specifically, and he said the same thing
- 5:12that he has just it blows him away that this
- 5:16is not a Rico case. It has all of the
- 5:19hallmarks everything you look for. And if he was a prosecutor,
- 5:23he said that he would have for sure pursued this
- 5:26as a RICO case. But for some reason, I'll leave
- 5:30that up to you all to decide. Everybody has their
- 5:33own opinion as to why. But for some reason they
- 5:36decided that RICO wasn't necessary here. It was necessary for r. Kelly,
- 5:43it was necessary for Keith Rainiery and Alison Mack, but
- 5:46it's not necessary for Jeffrey Epstein, Gallaine Maxwell and their
- 5:52criminal enterprise. So I'll let everybody else, you know, figure
- 5:57out why, or you know, come up with their own
- 6:00inclusions as to why. But for me, it's rather obvious,
- 6:03right they're making sure that all of this dirty laundry
- 6:08does not get aired. This is as dirty of the
- 6:10laundry as they want out there. They understand very very
- 6:14very much so that it looks so bad for the
- 6:17federal government what went on here. It looks so bad
- 6:21for the United States government how they conducted themselves here,
- 6:25that if the doors were really blown off of this thing,
- 6:29and it was really investigated with a financial angle, that
- 6:33it would be impossible for them to keep the lid
- 6:36on it, and it would really expose the whole entire
- 6:39financial system as the joke that it is, as the
- 6:44scam that it is, and really, honestly, it is rigged
- 6:48against all of us. Now, I know a lot of
- 6:51you out there sitting there saying, what are you talking about.
- 6:54I have a great credit, I've never had any issues
- 6:56with the bank. I don't mean your local branch, Okay,
- 6:59I don't mean on a one on one basis. I'm
- 7:02talking about the big picture. Who do you think is
- 7:04funding all of these jerk off politicians? Who do you
- 7:07think is making the needle move? Certainly not me or you.
- 7:11You think your one hundred dollars donation, your thousand dollars
- 7:14donation to your favorite politician really means anything in the
- 7:17long term, doesn't These people in the financial sector, all
- 7:22of Jeffrey Epstein's buddies like Jess Staley and Leon Black
- 7:27and the rest of the people at JP Morgan and
- 7:29Deutsche Bank, all of these people that were facilitating Epstein's
- 7:33money moves. All of these people who are facilitating the
- 7:37money moves of ola garks and scumbag criminals around the world,
- 7:42they do it with impunity, folks. There's never any backlash
- 7:46for them. You know how the boomerang's supposed to come
- 7:48back around and you catch them. It doesn't because they
- 7:53have a bunch of money, because they have a bunch
- 7:55of friends, and instead of them being held liable as
- 8:00far as criminal, they end up just paying huge, gigantic
- 8:04fines and moving on with their lives and continuing to
- 8:07do what they do. So when we're looking at this trial, right,
- 8:12I'm not one of the people that's going to sit
- 8:14here and say, ah, this is horrible. This is because
- 8:17it's a good thing at the very least to have
- 8:20Maxwell on trial, right, I'm not going to downplay that.
- 8:22But the fact of the matter is it does not
- 8:25go far enough. And that's not me just saying it, right.
- 8:29That is what the survivors themselves are saying. That's what
- 8:33people who have been following the case from the jumper saying.
- 8:36And if you want real justice and you want to
- 8:39really bring people to heal, people to be held responsible
- 8:45for their behavior with Jeffrey Epstein, the one pathway towards
- 8:49doing that, to make sure everybody involved is caught up
- 8:53is through the financial back door. But they won't do it,
- 8:58and they've already said this has nothing to do with
- 9:00the finances of Jeffrey Epstein. Meanwhile, Darren Endyke and Richard Kahn,
- 9:07who are in charge of the estate. Mind you, had
- 9:10their fingerprints over the whole entire operation. So I get
- 9:16it when people look at this case, they look at
- 9:18the overall picture and say it's a joke, because really,
- 9:24there's never been any justice administered here. And now you
- 9:27look at this Galaine Maxwell trial, not as much transparency
- 9:32as there should be. No call in number unless you're
- 9:37one of the few people that are in that room
- 9:38in the courtroom, you really don't know the actual scoop
- 9:41unless you're getting it served to you. And I don't
- 9:44like that. I don't like having to rely on other
- 9:47people to tell me what's going on. I am not
- 9:50a fan of it, and it's one of the main
- 9:52reasons I started looking into this case in the first place.
- 9:54I'm tired of being lied to point blank, period, and
- 9:58I know most of you out there feel the same way. Now,
- 10:01that doesn't mean people are always going to get it right,
- 10:04doesn't mean I'm always going to get it right. But
- 10:06the outright lying to people is absolute bullshit and it
- 10:10has to end. So people are tired of it. Right.
- 10:14People don't want to be BSD anymore. People want the
- 10:17real story, and unfortunately the real story is still not
- 10:23being told here, the full story to its maximum capacity.
- 10:27And you have all of these people who have all
- 10:29of a sudden got a huge interest in this case.
- 10:33Well you know what that really means is they feel
- 10:35like they can make some money on this case. So
- 10:37now everybody is an expert. Everybody's an expert, and everybody
- 10:42has all of these ideas and all of these great, great,
- 10:48great theories about what occurred. And meanwhile, in reality, they
- 10:55had their chance. The federal government had their chance not
- 10:58only when Epstein was hemmed up the second time, but
- 11:01throughout this whole entire or deal with Maxwell. They could
- 11:05have fired off so many more indictments and had so
- 11:07many more people wrapped up in this. Now, can you
- 11:11imagine how explosive this trial would be if there was
- 11:14a financial aspect to it and we had people like Wexner,
- 11:18Leon Black, Glenn Dubin and the rest of them taking
- 11:22the stand. Now, that, my friends, would be the sort
- 11:28of justice I'm interested in. Right, all of these people
- 11:31who have been engaging in these crimes, facilitating Epstein's crimes,
- 11:35helping Maxwell out for all of these years to get
- 11:38brought before a judge and a jury of their peers. Now,
- 11:43obviously that's about as much fantasy land as Game of
- 11:46Thrones in our current environment. But that would be the
- 11:50ultimate goal, right if we were really going to get justice,
- 11:53full justice, that's what it would be. But they're not
- 11:57interested in that unfortunately, So we're going to get what
- 12:01we get here. And all I can hope is that
- 12:04Maxwell ends up going to prison, And unless the prosecution
- 12:10picks up some steam here and starts going harder in
- 12:13the paint, I'm questioning if that's even going to happen
- 12:16at this point. Now. I've always been of the mind
- 12:20that there is a mountain of evidence here, Mount Everest High,
- 12:24and that you would have to be legitimately either one
- 12:27of the worst prosecutors of all time or throwing the
- 12:31case on purpose to not get a conviction here. And
- 12:35I'll tell you it's starting to look like one or
- 12:37the other, because I'm not very confident in Maureen Calemy.
- 12:41I've said that from Jump Street. I don't really care
- 12:45for her as a prosecutor. I don't know her as
- 12:47a person, so I can't, you know, make a you know,
- 12:49a statement one way or the other about her personal
- 12:52character or anything like that. But I will tell you this,
- 12:55I am not confident in her as an attorney or
- 12:59a prosecutor. And the fact that she's also prosecuting Nicholas
- 13:03TARTAGLIONI is a head scratcher to me. Now, Alison Moe,
- 13:07for the most part, has done a pretty good job.
- 13:09She has been a pretty solid prosecutor throughout this whole
- 13:12entire thing. But even with her and Pomerants, I'm not
- 13:17super confident in the prosecution. I've told you, folks from
- 13:22day one, how I feel about the SDN WHY, and
- 13:25how I feel about the way that they have conducted
- 13:27themselves in the past ten years or so. Certainly not
- 13:31something that inspires confidence. It's not the same SDN why
- 13:35that put the mafia out of business, certainly not. In fact,
- 13:39I would even go out on a lemon and say
- 13:41that they're more interested in going after their political opponents
- 13:45than they are in going after Jeffrey Epstein or his friends,
- 13:48considering how long this occurred right under their noses in
- 13:52the middle of Manhattan. So they can talk about how
- 13:55they're interested in this and how the SDNY is, you know,
- 13:59on the case, and this that the other thing. But
- 14:02I don't have confidence in the SDNY, and obviously, folks,
- 14:06like everything else we talk about here, we're talking about
- 14:10my opinion, and for me, it's just when you look
- 14:15at the overall picture, the way that things have went
- 14:18with the SDNY, with some of their investigations as of late,
- 14:22and the way that they deploy their resources, I don't
- 14:25know how anyone can have confidence in them. So it's
- 14:30going to be very interesting to see how the prosecution
- 14:34molds their strategy moving forward. And obviously a lot of
- 14:37it's going to come down to and rely on the
- 14:40testimony from the survivors themselves, because they're going to have
- 14:44the most impactful testimony, right their testimony is going to
- 14:48weigh the most as far as the court is concerned.
- 14:51At least in my opinion, I would think that if
- 14:54I was sitting on the jury, the most impactful statements
- 14:58to me would be from the actual people who were
- 15:01abused or molested or whatever it may be. Now, again,
- 15:06I've never sat on a jury for something like this,
- 15:09so it might be completely different. But I have a
- 15:13hard time believing that if the prosecution frames it all
- 15:18correctly and gets the right information out there, that Maxwell
- 15:22can get off here. Now, her defense team is working
- 15:25overtime to set it up as Maxwell is not only
- 15:29being given a bad shake as far as her trial
- 15:32and stuff, but her living conditions. And recently a little
- 15:36while ago, again they're talking about how she's not getting
- 15:40enough food, enough, this, enough that, and filing briefs with
- 15:44the court to that tune. And they're going to continue
- 15:48to do that. They're going to continue to pester, they're
- 15:50going to continue to poke, they're going to continue to prod.
- 15:54And what they're trying to do is set up the
- 15:56appearance that Maxwell has gone a bad shake the whole
- 15:59entire time here, she hasn't been treated fairly and that
- 16:03if she wasn't a rich socialite, that she would have
- 16:06been treated differently. And to that, I say, have you
- 16:10ever heard the story of Khalif Browder. I posted a
- 16:15two part article about Khalif Browder and what he went
- 16:19through at Riker's Island, And when you look at that
- 16:22side by side to what Glene Maxwell is saying that
- 16:26she's going through the punishment she's being dealt, it's laughable
- 16:30at best. And it's Oh, I've always found it gross
- 16:34that Maxwell would try and put herself into a category
- 16:38as somebody who's oppressed. She's never been oppressed in her
- 16:42whole life. In fact, I would even argue that she's
- 16:45been the oppressor her whole life. And now that she's
- 16:49getting a little taste of prison, of jail like the
- 16:52rest of us would if we were in her position,
- 16:55she doesn't like it. And now all of a sudden
- 16:58it's time for jail, it's time for things to change. Well,
- 17:04guess what, Glenn Maxwell, Things are going to change, hopefully
- 17:07in our jail system at some point, but you're not
- 17:09going to be the catalyst for that. Your complaints and
- 17:13your nonsense isn't going to be what moves the needle,
- 17:16all right, So enjoy the blowney sandwiches. Now. Today, I
- 17:22would expect that we see more from the witness that
- 17:28was on the stand last on Friday. He was only
- 17:33on the stand for a little while, so I would
- 17:34guess that he's going to come back on and speak
- 17:37a little bit more about the first raid of Epstein's place,
- 17:41and you know, the sex toys, the massage table and
- 17:43all of that jazz. But beyond that, I'm not sure
- 17:47who the witnesses are going to be today. I'm not
- 17:50haven't seen any witness list. I've looked, and I've looked
- 17:53in the mornings for all of the day so far
- 17:56and haven't been able to see that. So I'm guessing
- 17:58they're just holding it real close to their vests and
- 18:00we won't know until the witnesses are brought up in
- 18:03front of the judge and the jury. So that's where
- 18:07we're at this morning, folks, as the trials just getting
- 18:11underway right now, about ten minutes ago. Obviously, I'll be
- 18:16around all day doing the same thing that I did
- 18:19last week. I'll go through and try and curate as
- 18:24much of the notes as I can from the day's
- 18:26proceedings and I'll put them into a digestible form for
- 18:31us for later on tonight, and we'll take a look
- 18:33at what went on throughout the day. Hopefully we'll be
- 18:37able to get some more details out of that courtroom.
- 18:40And I think that's the most important part, right what
- 18:43goes on in the courtroom. Now, Obviously we can only
- 18:46get what we can get. There's not a full transcript
- 18:49coming out, not full transparency, and there's certainly not a
- 18:53call in line like there should be. So we're kind
- 18:56of at the mercy of those who were in the
- 18:58courtroom firing off these reports, and for the most part,
- 19:03a lot of these folks are doing a really good job.
- 19:05So I'll continue to do that, curate them from several
- 19:08different sources. If you want to follow along live on Twitter,
- 19:12Inner City Press is a good source, so is Adam Klassfeld.
- 19:17And uh yeah, so if you're looking to follow along live,
- 19:20you could do that. If not, obviously, I'll have it
- 19:24all ready to go later on tonight, curated and put
- 19:27into a digestible form so that we can see what
- 19:32occurred and you folks can get on with your day.
- 19:36All right, everybody, that's gonna wrap it up for this morning,
- 19:39and obviously we'll see what happens. But I'm looking at
- 19:43the same schedule as usual, few context episodes and then
- 19:47tonight we'll do our wrap up. All right, folks, that's
- 19:50gonna do it. If you'd like to contact me, you
- 19:52can do that at Bobby Kapuchi at ProtonMail dot com.
- 19:56That's bo bb Y c ap Ucc at ProtonMail dot com.
- 20:02You can also find me on Twitter at bo bbuy
- 20:06Underscore cap Ucci. All Right, everybody, I'll be back later
- 20:12on and I hope that all of you have a
- 20:14great day. What's up everyone, and welcome back to the
- 20:18Epstein Chronicles. Day seven of the Gallaine Maxwell trial just
- 20:23wrapped up a little while ago and witnessed Carolyn who
- 20:29went into a incredibly disturbing account of what happened to
- 20:35her at the hands of Maxwell and Epstein. She took
- 20:38the brunt of the questioning today. She was on the
- 20:42stand for most of the day and there were some
- 20:46pretty testing moments during the exchanges. As usual, Gallaine Maxwell's
- 20:51legal team have kept up their full full court press
- 20:55and looked to destroy the credibility of each and every
- 20:59witness that gets on the stand. Now, obviously we're going
- 21:03to get to all of that, but there was also
- 21:06a pretty shocking revelation that came at the end of
- 21:09the day to day, and that was the prosecution saying
- 21:13that they're going to be prepared to wrap their case
- 21:16up by this week. Now, remember this is supposed to
- 21:20be a five to six week trial according to the
- 21:24court and the prosecutors. Now all of a sudden, all
- 21:29of a sudden, today we're looking at it only being
- 21:33two weeks. As far as the prosecution goes, you would
- 21:39think that they'd have more up their sleeve. And it
- 21:42just goes right to the point that I've been trying
- 21:45to make forever, to be honest with you, that I
- 21:48have no confidence that the federal government of the United
- 21:51States has any interest in really bringing people who were
- 21:56involved in this to justice. They're throwing a little red
- 22:01meat here, right, folks, you know, in the interest of appearances,
- 22:06will pursue this a little bit. But in reality, if
- 22:11they really wanted to go after these people, if they
- 22:13really wanted to make sure that this all stuck, then
- 22:17this would have been a rico case. But now they're
- 22:21using this smaller scope the ten year period, and it
- 22:26certainly looks like the prosecution, at least from where I'm sitting,
- 22:31is not doing that great of a job. Now. The
- 22:35witness testimony has been pretty damning, There's no doubt about it.
- 22:40When you listen to these girls recount what occurred to
- 22:44the occurred to them at the hands of Maxwell and
- 22:48Epstein and their cohorts, it's distressing as hell. But there
- 22:54is so much more here that the prosecutions just leaving
- 22:58in the toolbox. And again it goes back to the
- 23:02original strategy. Why is it that only these four girls
- 23:07are being brought up as witnesses. We know that this
- 23:12is the same exact thing that occurred the first time around.
- 23:16When they impaneled the Grand Jerry down in Palm Beach,
- 23:18they only brought one girl up to testify in front
- 23:21of the grand jury. And what did they do? They
- 23:24destroyed her credibility because she talked to some boys on
- 23:27MySpace at the time, and she drank and smoked some weeds,
- 23:31So all of a sudden, her testimony is not credible.
- 23:35And now fast forward to twenty twenty one, and we
- 23:38see the same thing happening. Now where's all the outrage?
- 23:43You know? You see all of these people who want
- 23:45to march and go crazy and act the fool whenever
- 23:50they can move the political football. But for something like this,
- 23:54you would think that people would be up in arms.
- 23:58So where is all of the solidarity with Jeffrey Epstein's survivors?
- 24:05I would like to see that same kind of energy
- 24:07put out there. But one thing I have learned in
- 24:11the past, oh, I don't know, two and a half
- 24:13three years of covering this case and investigating this case,
- 24:17is that nobody, perhaps ever, when it comes to stuff
- 24:20like this, has been forgotten more than these girls. It
- 24:25has been an absolute travesty from start to finish. And now,
- 24:30just when you think that there's a chance for some
- 24:32of this stuff to come to light, just when you
- 24:34think there's a chance that the doors might get blown
- 24:38off of this thing, prosecution talks about resting their case.
- 24:45So that caught me really off guard, honestly, and I
- 24:50don't know what to think about it. So we'll have
- 24:53to see a little bit more what comes out in
- 24:56the overnight hours and into the morning about their strategy here.
- 25:02But I don't understand how they can even begin to
- 25:05think about resting their case. So we'll have to see
- 25:09what their strategy is. But as usual, I am not
- 25:13very confident at all, especially considering all of the circumstances
- 25:19surrounding all of it. I told you folks from Jump
- 25:23Street that I'm not confident in Maureen Comy. Why is
- 25:27Maureen Comy who is also prosecuting Nicholas TARTAGLIONI Why is
- 25:34she in charge of this case as well? So there's
- 25:38just a lot of things that never made sense to me.
- 25:40They still don't make sense to me, and I unfortunately
- 25:44I figured and knew that even after this trial there
- 25:47would still be way too many questions and not enough
- 25:50answers because this trial and the scope of this trial
- 25:54was never large enough. Now, I honestly don't know if
- 26:01or when we'll ever see any justice at this point, folks.
- 26:04And that's just the truth of the matter as far
- 26:08as I can see it. It's a bit discouraging to
- 26:11hear that the prosecution is ready to close their case now.
- 26:17Maybe they think they've done enough to get a conviction already.
- 26:20And like I said, the testimony was pretty damning. But
- 26:25with all of the evidence that's available, all of the
- 26:28stuff that's been out there, all of the stuff that
- 26:30we have heard from these survivors about Maxwell and her behavior,
- 26:35you would think that they'd really try and ram the
- 26:39point home. You would think that they would bring a
- 26:43parade of girls to come out and testify, even if
- 26:48their testimony doesn't have to do with the actual charges.
- 26:52Wouldn't that be showing that this is the kind of
- 26:55person Maxwell is, kind of like character witnesses saw with
- 27:00Harvey Weinstein in a few instances. So it's very disheartening
- 27:08to think that the prosecution is going to be done here.
- 27:12But I guess we'll have to wait and see right,
- 27:15we'll have to see what comes of this, and we'll
- 27:17have to see what the next couple of days bring,
- 27:21at the very least, because I'm hearing that they're talking
- 27:23about being done on Thursday, resting their case on Thursday,
- 27:28so one can only imagine what is on deck for tomorrow.
- 27:35Before we get to that, however, why don't we discuss
- 27:38what went down today inside of that courtroom and take
- 27:43a look at some of the proceedings that were underway
- 27:48in day seven of the Glenn Maxwell trial. So the
- 27:54trial kicks off pretty much the same way as the
- 27:57other six day has the other the other six days have,
- 28:01with the prosecutors and the defense arguing before the jury
- 28:05even comes in. This time over Jane, the witness who
- 28:08testified previously and what she told her boyfriend and when
- 28:12she told him it. Judge Nathan decides that if the
- 28:17prosecution wants to call him to testify, then they'll have
- 28:20to call him after lunch. After that there was another
- 28:23sealed sidebar and then the jury comes out to get started,
- 28:30So they never ended up bringing this other witness that
- 28:36they were talking about bringing out to talk today to
- 28:39put under oath and give their statement. So nothing came
- 28:43of that anyway. Maureen Comy handling things right now as
- 28:50far as the first portion of the case today, and
- 28:55they continue on with the FBI agent from yesterday and
- 29:00and evidence is once again provided. The agent was asked
- 29:04directly to identify the people in the pictures, and the
- 29:07agent identifies the people in the pictures as Jeffrey Epstein
- 29:13and Glenn Maxwell. These photos are relevant because they were
- 29:18found on CDs from the twenty nineteen raid of Epstein's
- 29:22and they weren't protected by the NPA from two thousand
- 29:25and five, by the way. And some of these CDs
- 29:28were found in that safe that you know, we've talked
- 29:32about several times from the raid at Epstein's house when
- 29:36he was arrested the second time around. They found a
- 29:39bunch of stuff in that safe, diamonds, they found money,
- 29:43fake Saudi Arabian passport, all sorts of things. And Epstein
- 29:49was known to have some cash on hand so he
- 29:53can make, you know, payoffs to his cohorts or for
- 29:56his air quotes, massages, stuff like that. But these CDs
- 30:02were found in twenty nineteen and the photos that were
- 30:08put into evidence were showing Jeffrey Epstein and Maxwell in
- 30:13these photos. Next, the evidence that's put into the court
- 30:18is sealed and prosecution they give the jurors instructions on
- 30:23where to find that in their binders the sealed file portion,
- 30:28so pictures are shown of Epstein and Maxwell hugging and
- 30:32then otherwise close poses the ones that aren't sealed, and
- 30:36after a short cross examination, the defense was done. So
- 30:41that wrapped it up for the FBI agent who finished
- 30:46off yesterday and started off today. It was about some
- 30:49of the evidence that was procured in the first of
- 30:52the second raid of Epstein in twenty nineteen. So this
- 30:57was an FBI agent who was involved in that, who
- 31:00was involved in handling the evidence, and this was somebody
- 31:04who was putting the pieces together to show the connections
- 31:07obviously between Maxwell and Epstein. Now, the next witness that
- 31:15they call up onto the stand is Stephen Flatley, an
- 31:20instructor from Quantico, which is the headquarters of the FBI,
- 31:25and he's in charge of one of their digital departments
- 31:28reconstructing hard drives and stuff like that. Comy goes on
- 31:32to ask Flatley about one of the hard drives that
- 31:35was registered to g Max and then referred to an
- 31:39email address from Mindstring, MindSpring excuse me, that was Maxwell's
- 31:44Comy goes on to ask about an email that discussed John,
- 31:48which is interesting because remember Glenn Maxwell used to call
- 31:51Juan Juana Lessi John, And when you look at the
- 31:56things that she was talking about in this email, it
- 31:58was obvious that she was talking about Juanna Lessi considering
- 32:02what his duties were as far as being Epstein's butler
- 32:06slash housekeeper. So again shows the ties right, shows the connections.
- 32:15She goes on to talk about several things that John
- 32:19did poorly in this email, including a pool deck being
- 32:22dirty and there being no pens. She also went on
- 32:25to complain about massage creams that were left in disarray
- 32:28in Epstein's bathroom. So we know that Wuanna Lessi has
- 32:33already testified about the bathroom, the sex toys, the massage oils,
- 32:39and that stuff. So now we see an email from
- 32:42Glene Maxwell herself from the gmax account talking about this
- 32:47very thing, basically corroborating Whatjuanna Lessi said previously. So this
- 32:55gentleman from Quantico went through the whole entire spiel about
- 33:01you know, the computers, blah blah blah blah blah and
- 33:04then we're back to sealing items. So now Exhibit number
- 33:09four eighteen is offered up, but it's offered up under seal,
- 33:14and that's pretty much it for the prosecution as far
- 33:18as with this witness. The instructor from Quantico, now Laura
- 33:26Mettinger for the defense, begins her cross by asking several
- 33:31questions about computer files and if he, the FBI agent,
- 33:35can say for sure if anything was changed or not
- 33:38during copying, and he admits that he can't. Right, he
- 33:40didn't have possession of this computer all the time. He
- 33:43doesn't know what happened to it at all the time.
- 33:46So what they're trying to do here is established that
- 33:49there could have been somebody who could have messed with
- 33:52some files. Not a very strong defense, not a very
- 33:55strong strategy in my opinion, but that certainly looks to
- 33:59be what they're trying is set up. They were also
- 34:02talking about locations and if they could determine where Maxwell
- 34:08was with the emails, but with it being emails from
- 34:13a desktop computer, it would make geolocation a moot point,
- 34:19so there wasn't anything that they could gleam from that.
- 34:25And with that, that's it for this witness as well,
- 34:30Menager releases this witness and the early morning of the
- 34:34proceedings is wrapped up. Now, like I said, the majority
- 34:38of this was Carolyn, who is testifying under her first name,
- 34:43and somebody who was allegedly abused by Maxwell and Depstein.
- 34:50So Carolyn next up on the stand and the prosecution
- 34:54starts out asking some questions about her background, such as
- 34:57how long she went to school for and she responds
- 35:00that she dropped out school was done for her in
- 35:03seventh grade. She also goes on to discuss how her
- 35:06mother was an alcoholic. Now, remember, these are exactly the
- 35:10kind of situations that Maxwell and Epstein thrived upon that
- 35:15they were always looking for. They were looking for somebody
- 35:20from a broken home or in a situation where they
- 35:22needed financial help or other help. And they can swoop
- 35:26in and offer that help, but only if you played
- 35:30their game right, only if you came back to the
- 35:33house for the massages, and only if you brought other girls,
- 35:36and nothing was given for free. And we know that
- 35:44it was their complete and utter m o. How many
- 35:53of these girls were from disadvantaged backgrounds, How many of
- 35:57them came from parents who had drug addiction or parents
- 36:01who had money problems working two jobs. And the sad
- 36:07reality is, folks, those are the people that are always
- 36:12prayed upon. They're the most vulnerable amongst us, and that
- 36:16is exactly where Jeffrey Epstein and Gallainne Maxwell liked to
- 36:20focus their attention. When she was asked how old she
- 36:25was when she was first introduced to Epstein, she replied
- 36:28that she was fourteen and that someone named Sean introduced them. Originally,
- 36:33she says, she told Sean she was seventeen, but he
- 36:36found out her real age at her birthday party. Now
- 36:39think about that, she tells his duty seventeen, then at
- 36:43the birthday party finds out she's fourteen. I mean, really, bro,
- 36:46you're still hanging out with her? Really? She goes on
- 36:51to tell the court that it was this relationship with
- 36:54Sean that led to her meeting Virginia Roberts. According to Carolyn,
- 36:58she was introduced to Epstein to give him massages so
- 37:03she could make some money. Now, there was a whole
- 37:06thing where Gallainne Maxwell's legal team was throwing Virginia's name
- 37:12around in this and we're going to get to that
- 37:15a little a little bit further down here. But it
- 37:18was quite transparent what they were trying to do. They
- 37:22were trying to set it up as if Virginia Roberts
- 37:26was a human trafficker and not Gallaine Maxwell, when in
- 37:31reality it was Gallainne Maxwell, according to all these reports
- 37:36at the top of the food chain here giving the
- 37:40orders for this to occur, normalizing all of this, grooming
- 37:44all of them. She goes on to say, you know,
- 37:52she was had no education, She's from a broken home.
- 37:56She was in need of cash, and that's why she
- 37:58went to give Epstein thoseges. Right, three hundred bucks is
- 38:02a lot of money when you have nothing, and to
- 38:05be able to get it multiple times a week. Carolyn
- 38:11goes on to tell the court about meeting Golaine for
- 38:13the first time and how she couldn't pronounce Maxwell's name,
- 38:16so she just called her by her last name. She
- 38:18said that Maxwell had shoulder length black hair and an accent.
- 38:23Carolyn said that Maxwell took off her clothes and Carolyn
- 38:26left on her bra and underwear, she says. Carolyn then
- 38:30tells the court that after forty five minutes of giving
- 38:32Epstein a massage, he turned over he Epstein and him
- 38:37and Virginia started to have sex. So we know from
- 38:40Virginia's depositions, and we know from Virginia's reports that it
- 38:46several different accounts of it being a group type of
- 38:50thing where Epstein was sexually abusing her in a group
- 38:54environment and using that to normalize the process for the
- 38:58other victims. It was just an absolutely draconian method that
- 39:05this man had, and he used these young girls to
- 39:11bring other young girls into his web. And what he
- 39:14would try and do is give himself a bit of
- 39:17a buffer zone. Right. Oh well, I wasn't paying them
- 39:23for sex, I you know, I was paying them to
- 39:24come over and give me a massage. And then he'd
- 39:27have several layers between himself and the actual payment, just
- 39:30like a criminal mob boss. So again I ask you,
- 39:34how is it that Rico is not being used here?
- 39:40Prosecution then asked Carolyn Carolyn about payment and how much
- 39:44he would receive, and she said she received three hundred dollars.
- 39:48She wasn't sure how much Virginia was given. She also
- 39:52stated that Maxwell asked her for her phone number. So
- 39:56after this first time, obviously Jeffrey Epstein was pleased and
- 40:01wanted to have Carolyn come back for more air quotes, massages,
- 40:07and unfortunately that's exactly what happened. Carolyn, when asked about
- 40:12how many times she went to Epstein's, says that she
- 40:15went more than one hundred times, at least two or
- 40:18three times a week, from the time she was fourteen
- 40:21until she was eighteen. She tells the court when asked
- 40:25why she went to Epstein's, that three hundred dollars was
- 40:27a lot of money to a young girl. This is
- 40:30something that we have discussed a lot, and again, it
- 40:34is one of the easiest ways for these people with
- 40:39gigantic amounts of financial resources a huge influence to groom
- 40:44these girls who come from nothing, and it's a process
- 40:49that is very, very, very effective. Unfortunately. She recounts how
- 40:57when Maxwell would call, she would ask Carolyn if she'd
- 41:01be able to see them if they flew in. They
- 41:03also asked her about traveling and if she could go
- 41:06overseas with them. She says she told them that her
- 41:08mother would never allow it. When she was asked if
- 41:13Maxwell newer age, Carolyn responds, she did know. So let's
- 41:19frame that Maxwell's calling this fourteen year old girl to
- 41:23try and get her to go overseas on trips. For
- 41:26what possible reason could you want to bring this fourteen
- 41:29year old girl on your trips with you overseas. It
- 41:34is debased and absolutely disgusting. The assistant US Attorney Pomerance continues,
- 41:50Did Maxwell touch you? She asks? To this, Carolyn responds
- 41:53with yes. When asked where on the body she was touched,
- 41:56she says her breasts. She says that Maxwell told her
- 42:00she had a great body for Epstein and his friends.
- 42:03And his friends huh, very interesting. Again, how is it
- 42:06that the prosecution is even talking about resting this case.
- 42:11None of Jeffrey Epstein's friends are gonna get caught up here,
- 42:15nobody else? What about the co conspirators? Sarah Sarah Vickers,
- 42:20Sarah Kelln Vickers is gonna is gonna skate here. It's gross,
- 42:25It's really gross, and it just again shows you that
- 42:28the justice system is completely broken, folks. It doesn't matter
- 42:31who's in office, it doesn't matter which tribe is in
- 42:34office and telling you, you know, whatever sweet lies they
- 42:37feel like handing out. The fact of the matter is,
- 42:40nothing ever changes, and the most vulnerable amongst us, meaning
- 42:44all of us, basically compared to these people, continue to
- 42:48get absolutely squashed. Also, if it was just a massage,
- 42:57why would Maxwell even comment on her by body type? Right?
- 43:00Why would it matter what her body type is if
- 43:03she's getting a massage, It shouldn't matter one way or
- 43:05the other. If she's big, small, anything in between, as
- 43:08long as she can give a good massage. Right. But again,
- 43:10this is a fourteen year old girl who was obviously
- 43:13not brought over there for massages. She also details how
- 43:19Epstein would ask her questions about her upbringing, again trying
- 43:23to set those claws in right now, this was a
- 43:26big one by prosecution in my opinion. They asked Carolyn
- 43:30about payment and if Maxwell ever paid her. Carolyn stated
- 43:33that Maxwell handed her three one hundred dollars bills, So
- 43:38that establishes that Maxwell was paying her for these quote
- 43:43unquote massages, and it also shows culpability, right, shows that
- 43:50she was a conspirator, a co conspirator. She knew that
- 43:54these girls were being abused, according to their accounts, and
- 43:58not only did she stand by and do nothing partake
- 44:01in some cases, but she was also the one paying
- 44:03the girls the money in some accounts. So again it
- 44:08establishes big time that Glen Maxwell was a pivotal player
- 44:14in this whole entire thing. Carolyn continued to talk about
- 44:19Epstein and how he sent her gifts like concert tickets, lingerie,
- 44:23probably Victoria's Secret, and a massage for Dummies book. Now
- 44:28we heard about the Massage for Dummies book at least
- 44:31a copy of it before from one of the previous raids,
- 44:35So this must have been a book that they were
- 44:37sending out all the time to try and get these
- 44:40little girls hip to how to give a proper massage. Again,
- 44:43it creeps me out, even saying that these people have
- 44:47all the money in the world. Why in the hell
- 44:50would these clowns be trying to get massages from these
- 44:53young little girls if it wasn't for the purposes of
- 44:58assaulting them. No other excuse, no other reason is logical
- 45:06or makes sense. You don't bring a fourteen year old
- 45:08girl over with no massage therapy experience to work the
- 45:12kinks out. Carolyn was also asked by the prosecution if
- 45:19she ever brought other friends to Epstein's form massages, and
- 45:22she says she brought three Amanda el who was a
- 45:26year older than her, and then Tatum and Julie, who
- 45:29were younger. She says she made six hundred and the
- 45:32others made three hundred. So that was another stick of
- 45:37Epstein's in Maxwell's and that's why some people call it
- 45:40a sexual Ponzi scheme, right, a sexual assault Ponzi scheme.
- 45:44He would get these one girl involved in his abuse
- 45:49and then he would set her out by giving her
- 45:52money to bring other girls in. And at the same time,
- 45:56the process was normalized because the original girl who was
- 46:00groomed and brought into the circle is telling these other girls, how, oh,
- 46:04this is just normal. You want to make a few
- 46:05hundred bucks, you just got to give them a massage.
- 46:08So these other girls come in and they think this
- 46:10is normal behavior, and you see how it all works, right,
- 46:15and it's disgusting. And in Palm Beach, we're talking dozens
- 46:18and dozens and dozens of allegations like this. In what
- 46:26was probably a preemptive move considering the prosecution knew that
- 46:31the defense was going to try and punch holes in Carolyn.
- 46:35They uh talk about her drug addiction and what she
- 46:40spent the money on, and she said she spent her
- 46:43money on drugs. She also talks about giving birth and
- 46:48when asked if she went back to Epstein, she says
- 46:50she did and even went while she was pregnant. So again,
- 46:56it just show it shows you the absolute hooks that
- 47:01these people put in to these young girls. And we're
- 47:06not talking about, you know, any gray area here. Okay,
- 47:11this was a fourteen year old girl when she first
- 47:13came into Epstein's sphere. There's no excuse for it, there's
- 47:17no defense for it. The prosecution also asked her about
- 47:23jail time she did over pawning a video game console,
- 47:27and she says she did time, but then she went
- 47:30to drug treatment and therapy and she is currently on
- 47:33medication to help her with her drug addictions. One of
- 47:37those drugs is methadone, so obviously she had an opiate
- 47:41opiate addiction, and this is very common, folks, for people
- 47:44who suffer this kind of trauma. You're trying to run
- 47:46from it, trying to hide from it, trying to get
- 47:48away from yourself. So what's the easiest way to do that, right, drugs.
- 47:54So you'll see a lot of these girls who have
- 47:58unfortunately been caught up with Maxwell and Epstein and people
- 48:01like them, turned to drugs. And it's just a whole
- 48:06bad scene that follows it asking about the Xbox issue
- 48:15and the father of her child, Sean she says that
- 48:18she has not been in touch with him since her arrest.
- 48:21She has also asked if she works or has ever
- 48:23worked for an escort service, to which she answers. Sometimes,
- 48:27when asked what Maxwell did to her, she tells the
- 48:29court she took pictures of her naked and of course
- 48:32the other stuff with Epstein, and the prosecution presses the
- 48:37issue and asks who decided who you would sue, to
- 48:40which the defense objects. Judge Nathan sustains their objection, So
- 48:46again setting it up because they know the prosecute, I mean,
- 48:50the defense is gonna come hard after her character, so
- 48:53they wanted it to get it out there in open
- 48:56court that she A had a drug problem, B did time,
- 48:59and see worked as an escort after all of this occurred.
- 49:03But that really doesn't matter in the long run, does it?
- 49:06Or in the big picture? The trauma that she suffered
- 49:10at fourteen years old obviously led her down this road.
- 49:15So how can you begin to assail her and assault
- 49:19her for her life choices and for the things that
- 49:22have happened after she was abused by Jeffrey Epstein and
- 49:27allegedly Maxwell. It is ridiculous. Now, of course, it's the
- 49:35place of the defense to try and do that. But
- 49:38I really hope that the Jerry's paying attention to what's
- 49:41going on here. So that's the end of it for
- 49:45the prosecution with Carolyn, and they hand her over to
- 49:49the defense for the cross examine, I mean for the yeah,
- 49:52the defense for cross exam. The defense asks if Sean
- 49:56was a friend of Virginia Roberts' boyfriend Tony, and if
- 49:59they smoke pot and drank booze together. Carolyn answered that
- 50:03they didn't drink booze, so obviously Sean Antonia were friends
- 50:08and they smoked pot, just like I don't know everybody
- 50:14you know at this point. I mean, really, who doesn't
- 50:16smoke pot? And to act like smoking pot or drinking
- 50:21booze or anything like that makes you not credible when
- 50:25it comes to something like being assaulted is just banana's
- 50:28land for me. I can't wrap my head around anything
- 50:31like that. And if I was ever on a jerry
- 50:33and somebody tried to infer that, I would definitely be
- 50:38thinking that they don't have much else to go on, right,
- 50:41I'm gonna need some evidence. She was asked if it
- 50:46was Virginia who told her that she could make three
- 50:49hundred dollars, and she answered, no. What Pagliuca is doing
- 50:54here is he's trying to attempt to set the tone
- 50:57that Virginia was the trafficker, not Maxwell. And he asked
- 51:00if Maxwell was there when she was approached about making
- 51:03five hundred dollars, and Carolyn says, no, Maxwell was not there,
- 51:08it was just her in Virginia. Again, Maxwell states a
- 51:12name in court that they shouldn't, this time using Carolyn's
- 51:15last name. So it's become a pattern now, right almost
- 51:19to the point where you have to ask yourself, are
- 51:21they attempting to dox these witnesses because they shouldn't be
- 51:26mentioning their names. Okay, they shouldn't be mentioning last names.
- 51:30If these girls are testifying anonymously, then that's the way
- 51:34it should be kept. But the scumbaggery that's being shown
- 51:39here by Maxwell's lawyers, it's you get what you pay for.
- 51:44Right when you're paying for this kind of money, these
- 51:46guys are going and ladies are going to push the envelope,
- 51:49and that's exactly what they're doing. So after all of
- 51:57that nonsense, and Glenn Mack expells lawyers once again, acting
- 52:02the full Judge Nathan calls for a lunch break. After
- 52:05they're done with the lunch break, the cross examination begins
- 52:08in Earnest, and the defense begins by asking her about
- 52:11the FBI notes from her twenty seventeen interview. Now, it's
- 52:16interesting because the two thousand the interviews that you have
- 52:19with the FBI, those aren't, you know, the word of law, right,
- 52:26they're not. The FBI isn't taking those notes word for word.
- 52:29Those are notes. So I don't think that the defense
- 52:34bringing that up is going to help them in the
- 52:36long run here. I think it's kind of a moot
- 52:38point and kind of a spinning of their wheels tactic. Now,
- 52:44I know, I said I'm not confident really in the
- 52:46federal government, but I haven't seen much from Glenn Maxwell
- 52:51as far as evidence proving that she's innocent here either.
- 52:55So it is going to be very interesting, the defense says.
- 53:01The FBI notes say that the woman had an unknown accent,
- 53:05and to this, Carolyn disagrees. She says that she told
- 53:08them that the woman had an accent. Pagliuca continues that
- 53:14she knew what a British accent was, but she said unknown,
- 53:18And once again he was implying that she's a liar.
- 53:23Asking about the second time that she went to Epstein's house,
- 53:28he says, so, for the second visit, you sat in
- 53:30the kitchen and spoke with the chef. Now, I'm guessing
- 53:33the timeframe lines up here and that that chef was
- 53:37Adam Perry Lang. So it definitely looks like that is
- 53:42the case as far as the timelines are concerned. But
- 53:45that wasn't mentioned in court or anything like that. Carolyn
- 53:49responds that she isn't sure if that was her second
- 53:52visit or if it was some time after that, And
- 53:55at this point, the defense calls for the court to
- 53:58show the witness what she said in two thousand and seven.
- 54:00So again back to the FBI notes, which would signal
- 54:05to me that they don't have much else to go
- 54:07on here, right. So it's one of those interesting situations
- 54:12where I'm certainly not confident in what we have seen
- 54:16as far as the prosecution's performance. But at the same time,
- 54:22I haven't seen a defense here that would get Maxwell off,
- 54:26at least in my opinion. Carolyn tells the defense that
- 54:35the FBI didn't ask her about Maxwell. Pagliuca presses by
- 54:39asking her if she is saying, the FBI put a
- 54:41gag on what she could say, and she responds again
- 54:44that she wasn't asked about Maxwell. And to this, the
- 54:49defense responds by stating that she told the FBI about
- 54:53Sarah Kellen Vickers or just Sarah and the Incubus tickets
- 54:57from Epstein, and then Carolyn said that she responds yes
- 55:01to this, So he is asking her about the whole
- 55:07entire gag here on what she could or couldn't say,
- 55:15and she says that there was no gag and that
- 55:19when they pressed about the email with Maxwell about Sarah
- 55:27Kelln Vickers, that it was factual that she did get
- 55:32these Incubis tickets from Epstein. So again it's more gifts, right,
- 55:37and what the defense is trying to do here is
- 55:39point out that it was Sarah Kelln Vickers and that
- 55:42it was Jeffrey Epstein. It was everybody but Glenn Maxwell.
- 55:45That's what the defense is trying to point out right here.
- 55:49The defense also probes Carolyn about her move from Florida
- 55:52to Georgia, and they asked her about the lawsuits that
- 55:55she filed. Carolyn cuts them off and asks what they
- 55:58have to do about what those have to do with
- 56:00her moving to Georgia. Again, it's one of those things
- 56:08where if you're a witness on the stand, you have
- 56:12to get frustrated right when you're getting peppered by the
- 56:16defense here like this, So she is being absolutely hammered.
- 56:23He's talking about why she moved from Georgia to Florida,
- 56:28and he is basically saying that it was because she
- 56:32had to go get clean, and she says that the
- 56:35reason she was leaving is to escape from the trauma.
- 56:40So right after this again, Maxwell calls for another break,
- 56:46the afternoon break at this point, coming back from the
- 56:58return and now Maureen call me asks how long the
- 57:02defense expects this cross examination to go on for and
- 57:05there's no response to the question. So the defense starts
- 57:09right in again and they questioned Carolyn, and this time
- 57:13asking her if she ever remembered using drugs when she
- 57:16was thirteen. Carolyn says that if you consider pot a drug,
- 57:20then yes. So again you see it, folks, And it's
- 57:25the story right of the defense. Their job is to
- 57:30try and continue to destroy the credibility, and it seems
- 57:35to me anyway that all they have to go on
- 57:37as far as credibility issues to destroy is the fact
- 57:40that this girl might have smoked some pot, or she
- 57:44might have hung out with some boys or something like that.
- 57:47It's ridiculous. The defense then tries to leave the witness,
- 57:55stating that she went to Georgia to get clean, but
- 57:57Carolyn says that that wasn't the reason. She said as
- 58:00she went there to escape her past trauma. And the
- 58:04witness was asked if she was doing cocaine when she
- 58:08was at Epstein's house and she responded no to that.
- 58:13The defense then refers to previous lawsuits and reads, did
- 58:16you have sexual intercourse with mister Epstein? Defense reads the
- 58:21answer no. Carolyn speaks up during this and replies that
- 58:25she wasn't a willing participant. So they were reading from
- 58:29those the documents, right, the three zero two's that the
- 58:33FBI provided, and the defense reads it, did you have
- 58:37sexual intercourse with mister Epstein and then the answer that
- 58:41Carolyn provided no. Now in the middle of this, she
- 58:44stops the defense attorney and she says that she wasn't
- 58:52a willing participant. That's why she said she didn't have
- 58:54sexual intercourse with Epstein, because she didn't. She was raped
- 58:57by him, so it was an intercourse, she goes on
- 59:06to say that Maxwell, that Glene Maxwell fondled me and
- 59:09broke my soul. And at this point the defense moves
- 59:12to get the comments struck from the record, and Judge Nathan,
- 59:16after advising the witness to follow the rules, orders the
- 59:19jury to disregard that comment. She is had enough, right
- 59:25and you could tell by at least just by the
- 59:28notes that we had coming out, because remember, folks, this
- 59:30is just an accumulation of different courtroom tweets and notes
- 59:37that are coming out as the trial's going on. But
- 59:40you could tell that she had had enough during this
- 59:42cross examination. And there were several times here where she
- 59:48went off off of the playbook and said stuff like
- 59:52that Glaine Maxwell fondled me and broke my soul. Can
- 59:56you imagine what this girl went through in her life. Again,
- 1:00:05the defense is probing about money received from the compensation
- 1:00:08fund and Carolyn again goes off of the script and
- 1:00:11she says that no amount of money can heal her.
- 1:00:14And as she's saying this, she's cut off by the defense,
- 1:00:16who once again moved to strike the witness comment from
- 1:00:19the record, and once again Judge Nathan agrees. She orders
- 1:00:23the jury to disregard the comment, and she again instructs
- 1:00:27the witness to follow the rules. Carolyn's crying now, and
- 1:00:31the defense asks if she claimed to have seen a
- 1:00:34picture of Maxwell pregnant, and she responds she did nude
- 1:00:38and pregnant, and she goes to continue her response, but
- 1:00:41the defense cuts her off at this point, stating that
- 1:00:44they have no further questions. With a few minutes left,
- 1:00:47Marine Comy asks if Caroline Carolyn is here to get money,
- 1:00:52and she responds, no, she is here because what Maxwell
- 1:00:56did is wrong. Again, the defense objects, the state ends
- 1:01:01it they have no further questions for the witness, but
- 1:01:03Pagliuca is not finished yet. He asked her about the
- 1:01:06money she received in two thousand and nine, but the
- 1:01:10money was gone by twenty twelve, and this was four
- 1:01:13hundred and forty six thousand dollars. He asked her what
- 1:01:16happened to it? She says she doesn't know, she has
- 1:01:19kids to take care of. The defense with their ham
- 1:01:22handed approach, continues, you can't recall how you spent four
- 1:01:25hundred and forty six thousand dollars. You lost all of it.
- 1:01:29No further questions, and with that the folks day number
- 1:01:33seven comes to a close in the Gallain Maxwell trial.
- 1:01:39They're sure is a lot to unpack today, And I'm
- 1:01:42sure as the day goes on and we get more
- 1:01:45information about the prosecution resting their case as soon as
- 1:01:50this week, then maybe we'll have more clarity. But as
- 1:01:54of right now, I don't even know what to say
- 1:01:57about the prosecution preparing to rest its case now. As
- 1:02:02far as the testimony given today, I thought that it
- 1:02:05was pretty powerful testimony. It certainly sets the foundational blocks
- 1:02:12we've been talking about, and it continues to connect the dots.
- 1:02:17So we'll see what tomorrow morning brings. But one thing
- 1:02:22I can tell you is it's going to be interesting.
