- 0:00If you'd turn in your Bible with me to 2 Corinthians
- 0:03chapter 10, we started there last week. And it's
- 0:08rare that I get to preach twice in a row, and
- 0:11so I'm going to preach the same message again.
- 0:15No, that's not true. I'm going to preach part
- 0:18two. And I want to just recap a little bit after
- 0:23I read verses 1 through 6. 2 Corinthians 10.
- 0:291 through 6. Now I, Paul, myself am pleading
- 0:33with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ,
- 0:35who am present and lowly among you, but being
- 0:40absent and bold towards you. But I beg you that
- 0:43when I am present, I may not be bold with you
- 0:47with that confidence by which I intend to be
- 0:51bold against some who think of us as if we walked
- 0:56according to the flesh. For though we walk in
- 0:59the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
- 1:03For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal,
- 1:07but mighty in God for the pulling down of strongholds,
- 1:12casting down arguments and every high thing that
- 1:16exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing
- 1:20every thought and captivity to the obedience
- 1:23of Christ. and being ready to punish all disobedience
- 1:28when your obedience is fulfilled. Father, open
- 1:34up your word to us this morning. In Jesus' name,
- 1:39amen. Amen. And so Paul, if you look down in
- 1:45verse 10, was dealing with people in his church
- 1:47that were challenging his authority. And it wasn't,
- 1:51I don't think, Paul that was so much concerned
- 1:53because they were defaming him, but because they
- 1:57were causing dissidence in the church and division.
- 2:01And so he recognized that the speech that was
- 2:07coming forth, it said, oh, Paul's bold in his
- 2:11letters, but when he's here, he's not the real
- 2:13deal. And that's what they were saying about
- 2:17Paul. It was dividing the church because many
- 2:22looked to Paul for leadership, and they were
- 2:26trying to diminish Paul's authority. And Paul
- 2:30was saying that, he was saying, when I get there,
- 2:34I'm going to deal with some. I don't want to
- 2:37have to be bold. I don't want to have to show
- 2:39the confidence that I have in Christ. But towards
- 2:42some of you, I will. And he refused to tolerate
- 2:48within the body that which would cause division.
- 2:53And so he was dealing with it head on. And he
- 2:59was saying these arguments, these vain imaginations,
- 3:03these fleshly carnal thoughts. that the enemy
- 3:09is using to destroy the church, I'm going to
- 3:12use the weapons that God has given to me, the
- 3:16weapons of our warfare that are not of this earth,
- 3:21they are not carnal, but they are mighty in God,
- 3:25and I'm going to use them to pull down these
- 3:29division -causing things. I'm not going to tolerate
- 3:33division in the church. And so, We talked about
- 3:38last Sunday the fact that sourcing matters. Where
- 3:44your authority comes from matters. And I believe
- 3:51that every one of us that have given our hearts
- 3:54to Jesus Christ have authority as sons and daughters
- 3:59in the house. Hallelujah. In Revelation chapter
- 4:021, I didn't cover this last week, but the Bible
- 4:06says that you and I are kings and priests in
- 4:10the world today. And a king is little K. Jesus
- 4:14is the big K king. And we are the little K kings
- 4:18under him that carry out his mission in the earth.
- 4:23We have authority that have been given to us
- 4:26by Christ. Hallelujah. Sourcing matters. And
- 4:32I kind of finished with that first part. The
- 4:36weapons of our warfare are not carnal. They are
- 4:40not of this world. Before I go further, I want
- 4:47to just list, I did at the very end, but I want
- 4:50to walk through more weapons of our warfare.
- 4:54We have the authority of God, which we talked
- 4:57about already. We have... The Word of God. This
- 5:03is why every Monday morning when we have prayer
- 5:06online, in fact, you can join us on Facebook
- 5:09at 805 on my personal Facebook page, or you can
- 5:13come in person and you can pray with us in the
- 5:15prayer room at 805. It's a powerful time, but
- 5:19my mantra for that is read the Word, pray the
- 5:22Word, and live the Word. Because the word of
- 5:26God is a weapon of our warfare that is not carnal,
- 5:30but it is mighty in God. Hallelujah. The word
- 5:33of God. And so Ephesians 6, 17, part of the armor,
- 5:38the word of God. And so Ephesians 6, 17 says,
- 5:45take up the helmet of salvation, the sword of
- 5:48the spirit, which is. The word of God. Now how
- 5:55does this happen? This happens, we see it in
- 5:58Acts chapter 4. Peter and John had come back
- 6:02to the church having been told by the Sanhedrin
- 6:05not to teach anymore in the name of Jesus. Because
- 6:09they saw a man healed at the gate beautiful.
- 6:13And when the believers began to pray, this is
- 6:17what they prayed. They lifted up their voice
- 6:19in verse 24 and with one accord and said, Lord,
- 6:23you are God who made heaven and earth and the
- 6:25sea and all that is in them, who by the mouth
- 6:28of your servant David have said, why do the nations
- 6:31rage and the people plot vain things? The kings
- 6:35of the earth took their stand and the rulers
- 6:38were gathered together against the Lord and against
- 6:41his crown. And so here, in the middle of their
- 6:46prayer, they are praying Psalm chapter 2, verses
- 6:511 and 2. They had read the Word, and now they're
- 6:56crying out to God, praying the Word of God. Amen?
- 7:01Now, I hope that in your devotions, when you
- 7:05read the Word, that you don't stop by reading
- 7:08the Word. but that you take the next step and
- 7:12that you pray the Word of God. Hallelujah. Because
- 7:16when you pray the Word of God, you are praying
- 7:20the perfect will of God. When you pray the Word
- 7:23of God, you are praying the will of God. Let's
- 7:26all say that together. When we pray the Word
- 7:28of God, we are praying the will of God. The Word
- 7:33of God. I could spend the rest of the morning
- 7:35on the Word of God, but let me move on. Jesus
- 7:40has given us his name. And it was at the gate
- 7:45beautiful where Peter and John looked at the
- 7:48lame man and said in verse 6 of chapter 3 of
- 7:51the book of Acts, silver and gold I do not have,
- 7:55but such as I have give I to you in the name
- 8:01of Jesus. Rise up and walk. Hallelujah. And I
- 8:06want to declare over the church today that God
- 8:10has given you His name. His name. It is by His
- 8:17name. It is in His name. It is the power of His
- 8:21name. Hallelujah. That is above every other name.
- 8:26The name of Darren Palmer does not go very far.
- 8:31The name of Cammie Palmer does not go very far.
- 8:36We are people. We are people. We are mere men
- 8:41and women in this room today. Our names are not
- 8:45very high. But the name that binds us all together,
- 8:50hallelujah, is the wonderful, powerful, eternal
- 8:55name of Jesus that is above every other name.
- 9:00And at the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow
- 9:03and every tongue shall confess and every demon
- 9:06shall submit. Hallelujah. Jesus is above every
- 9:10other authority and principality on this earth.
- 9:14It is the name of Jesus. And Jesus taught us
- 9:20in John 14, whatever you ask in my name, that
- 9:27I will do. Are you under the name of Jesus? Are
- 9:33you living for Jesus? Are you living in the name
- 9:37of Jesus? When you speak the name of Jesus, there
- 9:41is power that is released. The weapon of our
- 9:46warfare. And then God has given us the blood
- 9:53of the lamb. He's given us his word. He's given
- 10:00us his name. And he's given us the blood of the
- 10:05lamb. And I want to couple this with another
- 10:08powerful gift that is not rooted on the earth,
- 10:10but happened on the earth. It is rooted in the
- 10:13heavens. And that is this, the blood of the Lamb.
- 10:17And the Bible couples with that in Revelation
- 10:20chapter 12, verse 11, the word of our testimony.
- 10:25Hallelujah. The word of our testimony. How many
- 10:28of you got a story of what God has done in your
- 10:30life? Lift up your hand. You've got a story of
- 10:33how God has shaped you and changed you and intervened
- 10:38in your life and rescued you. That is the word
- 10:41of your testimony. And it is not rooted in carnality
- 10:46and the things of this world. Your testimony
- 10:48is rooted in heaven. Hallelujah. And so when
- 10:53you were washed in the blood of the lamb that
- 10:57Jesus shed on Calvary, you were given a story
- 11:01and a testimony. Hallelujah. And Revelation chapter
- 11:0512. I want to read this because this is so powerful.
- 11:09Hallelujah. Revelation 12. I'll start in verse
- 11:129. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent
- 11:17of old called the devil and Satan, who deceives
- 11:20the whole world. He was cast. to the earth. His
- 11:23angels were cast out with him. And then I heard
- 11:27a loud voice saying in heaven, now salvation
- 11:32and strength in the kingdom of our God and the
- 11:35power of his Christ have come for the accuser
- 11:39of our brethren who accused them before our God
- 11:42day and night has been cast down. And they overcame
- 11:48the devil and his angels by the blood of the
- 11:53lamb and by the word of their testimony. And
- 11:58they did not love their lives unto death. I'm
- 12:02getting a little loud this morning, aren't I?
- 12:04Because I'm excited about this. God has not left
- 12:09his people helpless. You are not helpless to
- 12:12face the things in this life. You are not helpless
- 12:16to just succumb to everything that comes your
- 12:20way. You have weapons of warfare that God has
- 12:24equipped you with so that you can fight and stand
- 12:30victorious in the mighty name of Jesus. He's
- 12:36given you the baptism. Of the Holy Spirit. In
- 12:42Acts chapter 1. In verse 8. But you shall receive
- 12:45power. When the Holy Spirit has come upon you.
- 12:48And you shall be witnesses to me. In Jerusalem.
- 12:52And Judea. And Samaria. And to the ends of the
- 12:56earth. Jude. The brother of our Lord said. But
- 13:01you beloved. Build yourselves up. In the most
- 13:05holy faith. Pray. in the Holy Spirit. Pray in
- 13:11the Holy Spirit. Glory to God. Ephesians 6 .18
- 13:16says, be watchful and persevere. Pray always
- 13:22with all prayer and supplication in the Holy
- 13:27Spirit. Pray in the Holy Spirit. Wow. He's given
- 13:34us the baptism of the Holy Spirit. You know,
- 13:37sometimes I don't know what to do. You don't
- 13:41know how many times that I have been discouraged.
- 13:48And I haven't always won those battles, but sometimes
- 13:51I do win those battles. And when I win that battle,
- 13:55do you know one reason why? It's because I begin
- 13:59to pray in the Spirit. I begin to pray in tongues.
- 14:04The baptism of the Holy Spirit. God has equipped
- 14:07me and empowered me with a prayer language that
- 14:09he wants to equip you and empower you with your
- 14:11prayer language by baptizing you in the Holy
- 14:14Spirit. And when I'm baptized in the Holy Spirit
- 14:18and I begin to pray in the Spirit, oh, that thing
- 14:24that gets on me, does that thing ever get on
- 14:28you? It tries to just weigh you down. It tries
- 14:30to steal from you. I begin to walk. I like to
- 14:34walk and pray in the Spirit. I begin to walk
- 14:37through my kitchen and through my living room,
- 14:39and I begin to pray in tongues, and I begin to
- 14:42lift them up, lift up my prayer language to the
- 14:46Lord, and it isn't long before that thing is
- 14:48broken, and it just lifts up off of me. It's
- 14:51a weapon of my warfare that is born in heaven
- 14:54that the enemy cannot steal from me. I want to
- 14:58wrap this portion up, so let me just list them,
- 15:02the gifts of the Holy Spirit. In 1 Corinthians
- 15:0612, they come from heaven. They are not sourced
- 15:10in carnality. Here's another one. We sang about
- 15:15it this morning. Praise. I want to say it again.
- 15:21Praise. I want to say it one more time. Praise.
- 15:27Shake your neighbor and say, Praise! Praise!
- 15:33Praise is a weapon of our warfare. Let the high
- 15:40praises of God be in their mouth and a two -edged
- 15:43sword in their hand. Praise is a weapon. The
- 15:49enemy wants to silence your voice. But when you
- 15:54lift it up, In praise. God has ordained praise.
- 15:59Even in the mouths of children. He has ordained
- 16:03praise. Well, you don't know what I'm walking
- 16:07through, Pastor. You just don't know what I'm
- 16:11walking through. I'm telling you that if you
- 16:16will lift up your voice in praise, no matter
- 16:20what you're going through, Oh, if you will lift
- 16:23up your voice and shout unto God with the voice
- 16:26of triumph, hell will tremble. Hell will begin
- 16:32to say, what is happening here? What is going
- 16:36on here? It's just like in Acts chapter 16, when
- 16:40Paul and Silas were in prison, and they were
- 16:44going to be executed the next day. But at midnight,
- 16:48Paul and Silas were praying and they began to
- 16:53sing hymns to God. Hallelujah. And the prisoners
- 16:58were listening and suddenly there was an earthquake,
- 17:02a great earthquake, so that the foundations of
- 17:05the prison were shaken and immediately all the
- 17:08doors were open and everyone's chains were loosed.
- 17:12It happened because of praise. I want to challenge
- 17:17you that are convinced that, well, my calling
- 17:21is to love the Lord my God with all of my mind.
- 17:26And so I'm just very cerebral in my relationship
- 17:30with Him. But there's three other parts to that.
- 17:35We got to love the Lord our God with all of our
- 17:37mind. We got to love the Lord our God with all
- 17:40of our heart and all of our soul and all of our
- 17:43strength. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And so I just
- 17:49want to challenge you in the midst of your hardship,
- 17:53in the midst of your struggle, keep. praising
- 17:56God. Do not let the enemy steal your praise.
- 18:00Do not let him silence the weapon of praise that
- 18:04is sourced in heaven. Hallelujah. You keep praising
- 18:07God. You keep praising God. Earth might do what
- 18:11earth is going to do, but I'm going to praise
- 18:14the Lord. I'm going to give glory to the King
- 18:17of Kings and to the Lord of Lords. That will
- 18:20set a person free. Hallelujah. Glory to God.
- 18:27Glory to God. And there's more, but I want to
- 18:30end with this one. God has given us the weapon
- 18:33of one another. Look at the person next to you
- 18:37and say, you're my weapon. You're my weapon.
- 18:41You are my weapon. You know, marriages in this
- 18:45room, you are each other's weapon. I've seen
- 18:54too many marriages agree together to move away
- 18:59from God. I'm believing for marriages that agree
- 19:03together that say, hey, we're going to go after
- 19:05God with all of our heart. We're going to lift
- 19:08one another up to the Lord. We're going to stand
- 19:10together in Jesus' name. Friendships in the house.
- 19:16We stand together in Jesus' name. There's too
- 19:20many people that are carnal and just dragging
- 19:23each other around. You don't have to get that
- 19:25close to God just so you go to church. No! What
- 19:32did Jesus say? Again, I say to you that if two
- 19:35of you agree on earth concerning anything you
- 19:38ask. It will be done by my Father who is in heaven.
- 19:43For where two or three are gathered together
- 19:46in my name, there I am in the midst of them.
- 19:49I want the power of God to flow through my friendships.
- 19:52I want iron to sharpen iron. I want us to draw
- 19:56each other closer to the Lord, closer to the
- 19:59Lord, closer to the Lord. I got a need. I've
- 20:02been praying on my own, but I haven't seen breakthrough
- 20:04yet. So brother, will you join with me and will
- 20:07you pray with me? Because the Word, I know God
- 20:10is listening to me when I pray on my own. But
- 20:13if you'll join with me, then we'll fulfill Matthew
- 20:1618, 19, and 20. And we'll agree together in the
- 20:21name of Jesus. One puts a thousand to flight.
- 20:24Two puts ten thousand to flight. What can an
- 20:27entire church do? I believe that there is so
- 20:34much. Power locked up in the church that has
- 20:38not been released yet. It's time for it to be
- 20:41released in the name of Jesus. These weapons
- 20:43of our warfare, they are not carnal. They are
- 20:46mighty in God. Woo! Hallelujah! What's the most
- 20:52powerful thing in Logan County? It's the church.
- 20:59But she is suppressed and silent. But it's time
- 21:06for the church to arise. And I don't mean politically.
- 21:11It's time for the church to rise in the power
- 21:14of the kingdom of God and see souls set free
- 21:19in Jesus' name. Breaking down the lies of the
- 21:25enemy, the things that are not true in Jesus'
- 21:30name. And then the final thing, I was... I believe
- 21:35that every one of these things has to be touched
- 21:37by this one. This one is not a standalone. When
- 21:41you speak in the name of Jesus, you have to couple
- 21:44it with this one. When you plead the blood of
- 21:47Jesus, you have to couple it with this one. When
- 21:50you agree with your friend, you have to couple
- 21:53it with this one. When you praise, you have to
- 21:55couple it with this one. And this weapon of our
- 21:59warfare that touches every other weapon of our
- 22:02warfare is this. It is, in fact, Paul said in
- 22:07the armor, he said, and above all, above all,
- 22:13take up the shield of faith. Hallelujah. The
- 22:19shield of faith. We have to have faith in God.
- 22:24We have to have faith that when I pray in the
- 22:26name of Jesus, he will do what I ask. We have
- 22:30to have faith that when I agree with my brother
- 22:32and my sister that God is going to move. May
- 22:36the Lord increase the weapon of faith among us
- 22:40in Jesus' mighty name. Hallelujah. Glory to God.
- 22:48Okay. The weapons of our warfare. God's called
- 22:52us to use them. Oftentimes, he's called us to
- 23:01use them to tear down carnality. Paul was tearing
- 23:07down carnality in the church because he refused
- 23:12to tolerate it. I'm not going to let carnal thinking
- 23:17supersede the God kind of thinking. And oftentimes
- 23:25in our own lives, We tolerate carnality. Things
- 23:36sourced from the earth. Carnality. Since this
- 23:48word was given a couple of weeks ago, this verse.
- 23:57The weapons of our warfare are not carnal. I
- 24:02have been seeing in my own life carnality. By
- 24:14that I don't mean gross sin. That's not what
- 24:16carnality is. Carnality means of the earth. Limiting
- 24:23myself. To humanness. I have not repented so
- 24:45much before the Lord as I have in the last two
- 24:49weeks. I've been seeing desires in my life that
- 25:02are for my own gain. I've been asking God to
- 25:11cleanse my heart of things that... I have begun
- 25:17to do subtly and really not even notice them.
- 25:21First, I did them because God told me to do them
- 25:25and He put them on my heart. But subtly, a shift
- 25:28happens and I do them to gain notoriety among
- 25:32people. Among Christians. I've been seeing so
- 25:43much in my heart that I've... That I've just
- 25:46said, God, I need a thorough, thorough cleansing.
- 25:53The details that surround what brought this all
- 25:57out, I don't have time to share this morning.
- 26:04And God has done a partial work, but even yesterday
- 26:08I had thoughts and I had to confess them before
- 26:11the Lord and say, God, wash. me clean. My biggest
- 26:19enemy to overcome by the weapons of our warfare
- 26:24is not the devil, but it is the thought processes
- 26:31and the things that enter my own heart. And I
- 26:41fear that oftentimes We tolerate the kinds of
- 26:47thinking in our lives that limit God. Some questions
- 27:03I wrote down. Is my decision -making process
- 27:09more led by human reasoning? Or is it soaked
- 27:15in prayer and listening to the heart of God?
- 27:21Am I envious of the lifestyles that others enjoy?
- 27:29Am I envious of the positions, even in the church,
- 27:33that others enjoy? Do I resist the things that
- 27:42feed my spirit, finding it easier to give my
- 27:47time and resources to feeding my flesh? Am I
- 27:54generally, when I really step back and pause
- 27:58a moment and look, am I generally unsatisfied
- 28:01with the life that God has given me? Am I argumentative?
- 28:12Do I have a constant need to be correct? Do I
- 28:18crave the accolades of men? Do I crave what others
- 28:29think of me more than what God thinks of me?
- 28:37These are all things that are tied to carnality.
- 28:42When a Christian is carnal, they open up the
- 28:46door for it to lead to things that are not just
- 28:50of this world, but to lead to things that are
- 28:53actually evil and sinful. Carnality will lead
- 28:58you down that road because it is void of God.
- 29:03And there is a huge battle between flesh and
- 29:10spirit. And your pastor is not immune. And I
- 29:17have been asking God to give me a thorough, thorough
- 29:20cleansing to not cut the work short. I don't
- 29:24want to just come to the altar and say, Lord,
- 29:26forgive me, and then leave. I want a thorough
- 29:30cleansing and a washing in my heart and to gain
- 29:34a victory over carnality. Now, I want to read
- 29:40some verses to you. Are we doing good? Is everybody
- 29:43okay? You feeling good this morning? You feel
- 29:46good, all right? All right. I want to read some
- 29:49verses to you to let you know this morning that
- 29:54you are not alone. Now, these first two are both
- 29:58from the Gospel of Luke. The first one, the disciples
- 30:02had been walking with Jesus for two years in
- 30:06person. And so they had lived with him and done
- 30:11ministry with him and experienced an incredible
- 30:14amount of ministry. Now listen to this. Then
- 30:17a dispute arose among them as to which of them
- 30:21would be the greatest. Godly from heaven or carnal?
- 30:32Carnal. No question. And Jesus, perceiving the
- 30:37thought of their heart, took a little child and
- 30:40used a child as an illustration. But then, up
- 30:47to a year later, this was right before Jesus
- 30:51went to the cross. In the same gospel, in Luke
- 30:56chapter 22, so this is not a crossover scripture.
- 31:00This is a year later after that conversation.
- 31:06And it says in Luke 22, 24, now there was also
- 31:11a dispute among them as to which of them should
- 31:14be considered the greatest. It was still going
- 31:19on. The carnality that they were dealing with.
- 31:24And Jesus said to them, the kings of the Gentiles
- 31:27exercise lordship over them, and those who exercise
- 31:30authority over them are called benefactors, but
- 31:33not so among you. On the contrary, he who is
- 31:35the greatest among you, let him be as the younger,
- 31:38and he who governs as he who serves. Be the servant
- 31:43of all. That's what God sees. You see, Jesus
- 31:48flipped it all upside down. I want you to listen
- 31:52to Paul's first letter to the Corinthians. This
- 31:55is chapter 3, 1 Corinthians 3, verse 1. And I,
- 32:00brethren, could not speak to you as spiritual
- 32:02people, but as carnal. Babes in Christ. I fed
- 32:12you with milk and not with solid food for until
- 32:15now you were not able to receive it and even
- 32:18now you are still not able for you are still
- 32:21carnal. Wow. For where there is envy, strife,
- 32:29divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving
- 32:32like mere men? When one says, I follow Paul and
- 32:37another, I follow Apollos. Are you not carnal?
- 32:44And so, this thinking of carnality was pervasive
- 32:50to the twelve disciples. It was pervasive to
- 32:54the church of Corinth. Do you think that you
- 32:57and I are immune? We're not immune. We have flesh.
- 33:07And as long as we're on this side of eternity,
- 33:09there's coming a day where you don't have to
- 33:11fight it anymore. Hallelujah. But there's coming,
- 33:15and that day is not here yet. And so now we have
- 33:19to wrestle with ourselves and carnality. Carnality.
- 33:31We have to wrestle with ourselves. It desires
- 33:34comfort and convenience, the feeding of the flesh.
- 33:39It desires praise and the recognition of men.
- 33:45Jesus constantly taught us how to battle it.
- 33:52Deeds before men. Listen to what he said about
- 33:56the Pharisees. All their works they do to be
- 34:00seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad
- 34:05and enlarge the borders of their garments. They
- 34:09love the best places at feasts, the best seats
- 34:12in the synagogues, greetings in the marketplaces,
- 34:15and to be called by men, Rabbi, Rabbi. But you
- 34:20do not be called Rabbi, for one is your teacher,
- 34:23the Christ, and you are all brethren. It's what
- 34:32they love to be seen by men. And I have to be
- 34:38honest with myself and ask the question, is any
- 34:43of that in me? Did you know the opposite is true
- 34:49too? We like accolades and we like to feed our
- 34:53flesh. But the opposite is true too. We have
- 34:57entertained thoughts. That are not from God.
- 35:11I'll never arrive. I'll never get filled with
- 35:21the Holy Spirit. I'll never have enough money.
- 35:33I'll never lose weight or be healthy. Did you
- 35:43know that those kinds of thoughts are also rooted
- 35:46in pride? They're carnal. They're what? Idols.
- 36:02High places. Come down. That's a word from the
- 36:04Lord right there. Some of you have had things
- 36:09spoken over you. By authorities. You'll never
- 36:18amount to anything. And that thing takes root
- 36:25in your heart. And it becomes a part of your
- 36:30identity. But it is carnal. It is sourced not
- 36:38from God, not in heaven. It is sourced from the
- 36:42earth. It is sourced in your own mind. It is
- 36:45sourced from the generations that have gone before
- 36:48you that have spoken those things over you. It
- 36:50is sourced in the earth. And the whole reason
- 36:55for these weapons that we just spent 20 minutes
- 36:58shouting about. is to defeat and tear down these
- 37:04kinds of carnalities that have to be done away
- 37:09with. I'll never be free. I'll always be addicted.
- 37:14No! Why is it wrong? Why is it sinful to entertain
- 37:24those things? Because God did not. Say them.
- 37:32They are sourced in the earth and God's called
- 37:35you to a new place, son. He's called you to a
- 37:38new place, daughter. He's called you to believe
- 37:40his word in your life. He's called you to believe
- 37:43his promises in your life. He's called you to
- 37:45believe what he says is going to happen in your
- 37:48life. He's called you to believe his will for
- 37:51your life. Hallelujah. And it's time to tear
- 37:57it down in Jesus' name. It's time to say, no,
- 38:02it's not going to happen. This is a struggle
- 38:11worth engaging in. And for two weeks, I've been
- 38:15laying myself before the Lord saying, God, get
- 38:17these things out of my heart. Using the weapons
- 38:23of my warfare. One time in the last two weeks,
- 38:28I laid my hand on my head and I just began to
- 38:31plead the blood of Jesus over my thinking. I
- 38:35began to plead the blood of Jesus over my thinking.
- 38:39Hallelujah. Glory to God. I will. When I was
- 38:4735, I went through a health episode. Had to do
- 38:52with an infection that was in my head. And I
- 38:57gained victory over it. It took me nine months
- 38:59and a lot of work. It's a whole God testimony,
- 39:02which I'll spare you of this morning. But after
- 39:05that, when I would go to run, it was like there
- 39:08was space in my head that was left behind. And
- 39:12I could feel, this sounds crazy, I know, but
- 39:16I could feel my brain clicking when I would try
- 39:21to run. And I would go a mile. And I'd have to
- 39:25stop and I would feel like I was concussed. It
- 39:28was like there was now space in my head and my
- 39:31brain was getting sloshed around. And so that
- 39:35was when I was 35. It's now 18 years later. And
- 39:39I had convinced myself that I would never be
- 39:43able to run again. And I would never be able
- 39:48to get to the place where I wanted to be physically
- 39:51again. And two years ago I started running and
- 40:00I really got serious about it this year. And
- 40:04I want to tell you something that God has delivered
- 40:06me and healed me and completely set my body free.
- 40:10Hallelujah. There is right now, I know I'm tall
- 40:16and skinny and I've always kind of been tall
- 40:18and skinny and so I don't say this to... Exalt
- 40:24myself. But I have, I think I've lost 25 pounds
- 40:34since I started running this past summer. I feel
- 40:41better than I've felt in two decades. I see a
- 40:47physical transformation happening in my body.
- 40:52But it is not just that. It is that coupled alongside
- 40:57of that, there is a spiritual transformation
- 40:59happening in my body. And I'm beginning, in my
- 41:04spirit, and I'm beginning to believe the things
- 41:07that God has spoken over me. And I'm believing
- 41:10that that's going to trickle down, not just to
- 41:14me and to my wife and our family. She's always
- 41:17been a health nut. And now I'm thankful for that.
- 41:22I've kind of like, never mind, I'm not going
- 41:26to go down that road. Because she's going to
- 41:28listen to this. And then I'm going to get it.
- 41:31I'm going to get it. Paybacks are never good.
- 41:37she means more to me now than she ever has. There,
- 41:41I'll just say that. And some of the things she's
- 41:45given herself to mean more to me now than they
- 41:47ever have. And the blessing that is coming upon
- 41:51me and upon her is coming upon this entire body
- 41:56in Jesus' name. And this morning, we're going
- 42:01to break some of that wrong thinking. I will
- 42:06never be healed. I will never be able to fill
- 42:12in the blank. We break that in the name of Jesus.
- 42:20We plead the blood of Jesus over our thinking.
- 42:24Hallelujah. We plead the blood of Jesus right
- 42:29now. over every weight that has hindered us in
- 42:34the name of the Lord. Everything that is rooted,
- 42:37not in the mind of God, but in carnal type thinking
- 42:41that has allowed things to take root and determine
- 42:44our destiny. We refuse to give our destiny to
- 42:50the enemy anymore in Jesus' name. We refuse to
- 42:55let... Let the lies of the enemy. I love that
- 42:59song that Candace led. Get the liars out of the
- 43:03way. They don't have the final say. There is
- 43:06only one. Sovereign and supreme. Every word he
- 43:11speaks is holy. Hallelujah. The Lamb of God is
- 43:17overcome. My testimony is his blood. Hallelujah.
- 43:24Glory to God. These are the weapons of our warfare.
- 43:29They are not carnal. They are mighty in God.
- 43:36Hallelujah. Friend, you are not meant to be the
- 43:39tail wagged around by life for the rest of your
- 43:42days, just having to suffer at every turn and
- 43:48helpless and just having to just take it all
- 43:53the time like a punching bag. You are not the
- 43:57tail. You are the head in the name of Jesus.
- 44:01God created you and he's gifted you. to operate
- 44:06in power and authority and all of the things
- 44:09that God has given to you in Jesus' mighty name.
- 44:13And so I want to call you, friend, to two things.
- 44:17One, to brutal honesty. To stand before the Lord
- 44:24and to say, God, I just recognize, and to not
- 44:29be afraid to admit and recognize, I have been
- 44:34a carnal person. I have thought things I shouldn't
- 44:39think about myself and about others. I need you
- 44:43to come and cleanse me, God. I need you to wash
- 44:47me. I plead the blood of Jesus. I thank you that
- 44:50you have put your name on my life. You have called
- 44:52me to a higher place than this. And you get brutally
- 44:58honest and say, God, I have been content to stay
- 45:01on this plane and just stay here for the rest
- 45:04of my life and just wander and meander through
- 45:06life and just let all of these things happen
- 45:10up until now. And I ask that you would forgive
- 45:12me for that because I don't want to stay here
- 45:15any longer. I want to come up to where you are.
- 45:20I want to walk the way you've called me to walk.
- 45:23I want to be who you've called me to be. I want
- 45:30to become who you've created me to become. I
- 45:36won't forfeit my destiny anymore. I want to tell
- 45:43you something that I know isn't true, but it
- 45:45was the way I was feeling, and I told this to
- 45:48Cammie a couple nights ago. I said, I fear that
- 45:59there are things in life that have already passed
- 46:06me by and are too late to recover. And I told
- 46:13her, I said, I know that's not true, but I'm
- 46:15telling you that because that's how I feel right
- 46:18now. Do you know you can be honest? And I want
- 46:24to call you to honesty before the Lord because
- 46:27that's how we get those things out of us. In
- 46:32James 5, it says, confess your sins one to another
- 46:35and pray for each other that you might be healed.
- 46:38Amen? And so you say those things not to glorify
- 46:43those things, but to get them out in the open
- 46:46and so they can be defeated in the name of Jesus.
- 46:52They can be gone in the name of Jesus. There
- 46:55is nothing that is irredeemable. You are redeemable.
- 47:01You have not gone too far. You have not that
- 47:03God can't bring you back. You have not sinned
- 47:08too much that He cannot forgive you. He can restore
- 47:13and set free and heal in Jesus' name. And then
- 47:22the second thing, so I want to call you to brutal
- 47:24honesty. And then the second thing, I want to
- 47:27call you to radical obedience in taking up the
- 47:30weapons of our warfare and using them in Jesus'
- 47:35name. You're not denying your humanity. You're
- 47:40honest before the Lord. but you're also taking
- 47:44the gifts that he's given to you and the weapons
- 47:46of your warfare, and you are using them in Jesus'
- 47:51name. They are mighty in God. Hallelujah. Oh,
- 47:57somebody give God praise right now. Give God
- 48:00praise. Give God praise. Hallelujah. Thank you,
- 48:05Father. Thank you, Father. Thank you, Father.
- 48:09Just begin right now. I'm going to ask the worship
- 48:12team to come. We're going to do that song again,
- 48:17So Be It, Hallelujah, in just a moment. That's
- 48:23going to be our celebration moment. Before we
- 48:29engage in that song, I just want to have a moment
- 48:33of repentance and a moment of... Just turning
- 48:40to the Lord and responding to the Word. One of
- 48:44the most beautiful words in my life before the
- 48:47Lord is the word repentance. Because when I confess
- 48:52my sins, 1 John 1 .9 says that He is faithful
- 48:55and just to forgive my sins and to cleanse me
- 48:59from all unrighteousness. Repentance is a beautiful
- 49:08thing. If you've had thoughts that you've entertained,
- 49:13some of them have defined your life, repent,
- 49:16turn to God. Say, God, I believe you. Let's just
- 49:23bow our heads all over this room. Is there anybody
- 49:29here this morning that would say, Pastor, I've
- 49:33heard the word and really I'm under conviction?
- 49:42Because I've tolerated carnality. If that's you
- 49:48all over this place, just lift up your hand to
- 49:50the Lord. Yeah, yeah, all over the room. You've
- 49:54tolerated carnality. But right now, God says
- 50:00no more, and you need to agree with him in Jesus'
- 50:03name. In fact, just put your hand on your mind
- 50:07right now. And just... Use the weapon of the
- 50:13blood of the Lamb and just say, Lord, wash my
- 50:16mind and my thinking in the blood of the Lamb.
- 50:21Lord, we break every word curse right now in
- 50:25Jesus' name. Lord, we thank you for victory over
- 50:29every vile thought, every thought that diminishes
- 50:32God's plan for our lives, God's ability in our
- 50:36lives. We break it off in the name of Jesus.
- 50:42And we plead the blood of the Lamb over our minds
- 50:46right now. We tear down thoughts that exalt themselves
- 50:50against the knowledge of God. We tear them down
- 50:55in the name of Jesus. We take up our cross daily
- 50:58and follow God. Hallelujah. We use the weapons
- 51:03of our warfare. Oh. Jesus, we call on your name
- 51:10right now. And we thank you, Lord Jesus, for
- 51:14redeeming our thoughts and a new training to
- 51:17come into effect. Because tomorrow morning we're
- 51:19going to get up and those thoughts might still
- 51:22be there, but we're going to plead the blood
- 51:24of Jesus over them and command them to leave
- 51:26in the name of the Lord. We're going to lift
- 51:29up our hands and we're going to praise you. And
- 51:32we're going to say, God, I am going to fulfill
- 51:34the calling on my life. I am going to walk with
- 51:37Jesus today. I am going to think the way you
- 51:42want me to think today in Jesus' name. God, I
- 51:48thank you for victory in the name of the Lord.
- 51:50That these weapons are mighty in God, but if
- 51:53they stay on the shelf, they do nothing. God,
- 51:57help us to use these weapons that you've given
- 52:00to us. to govern our own lives, to move away
- 52:06from the carnality that we all carry more and
- 52:13more and more and more. We wrestle. It's this
- 52:19battle between flesh and spirit, but God, we
- 52:22refuse to just wander through life letting flesh
- 52:28dominate. God, we believe your word. And we follow
- 52:37after you. In Jesus' mighty, mighty name. Hallelujah.
