- 1:15Speaker 3: wins in two matchups against Nashville here for this season,
- 1:19Speaker 3: and hoping that they can get a newly acquired forward
- 1:23Speaker 3: in the mix from the trade deadline. At being Bobby McMahon,
- 1:27Speaker 3: he joined us as well from the dressing room for
- 1:28Speaker 3: the latest Meet the Kraken series.
- 1:30Speaker 2: A preview of that conversation coming up.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Plus we'll check in with the In Furness, the mayor
- 1:35Speaker 3: of Maple Valley, for more on this evening's game, where

- 2:14Speaker 3: well again tonight Women in Hockey Night presented by Pitchbook
- 2:17Speaker 3: coming up here for the Kraken and Nashville Predators matchup
- 2:21Speaker 3: at seven o'clock.
- 2:22Speaker 2: So what's in the rearview mirror?
- 2:24Speaker 3: Now seven and four lost to the Ottawa Senators plus
- 2:27Speaker 3: two days off here to recalibrate in the Cracking getting
- 2:30Speaker 3: back to practice on Monday with a mission in mind
- 2:33Speaker 3: to dial up their game, implement more healthy bodies back
- 2:37Speaker 3: into the fold with illness going around the team which
- 2:39Speaker 3: took out Ryan Lindgren and Freddie Gudreau this last weekend,
- 2:43Speaker 3: and get the first look at Bobby McMahon with nineteen
- 2:46Speaker 3: goals on the season, plus also a brand of speed
- 2:49Speaker 3: and shot production many are saying could be a huge
- 2:52Speaker 3: X factor here for the Kraken and their system in
- 2:55Speaker 3: this stretch drive pretty important the Cracking are getting him
- 2:58Speaker 3: in there hopefully soon. Schwartz ruled out and definitely after
- 3:01Speaker 3: he took and Aaron Skate to the face against Ottawa
- 3:05Speaker 3: back on Saturday, so McMahon ended the Kraken fold as
- 3:08Speaker 3: far as practice line rushes mixed in and out with
- 3:11Speaker 3: Chandler Stevenson's line Ellie Tulvinen and Freddie Gudreaux as well
- 3:16Speaker 3: on the wings respectively. So will he play or will
- 3:19Speaker 3: he not play? That matter is still pending, as Lane
- 3:22Speaker 3: Lambert confirming that McMahon is still awaiting immigration clearance, but
- 3:26Speaker 3: in the meantime still practicing here with the team in Seattle.
- 3:29Speaker 3: And we cut up with McMahon after practice on Monday
- 3:32Speaker 3: at Kraken Community Ice Plus as a part of our
- 3:35Speaker 3: Meet the Kracken series. And McMahon, who came up the
- 3:38Speaker 3: ranks as an undrafted free agent and began in the EHL,
- 3:43Speaker 3: certainly understands the value that everything is earned and nothing
- 3:47Speaker 3: is given. What helps here for the Kraken and his
- 3:49Speaker 3: case is McMahon reunited with a former coach of his
- 3:53Speaker 3: from his days in Toronto, in Lane Lambert. And here's
- 3:56Speaker 3: part of our conversation from the dressing room with Bobby
- 3:58Speaker 3: McMahon previously into you had Lane Lambert on that bench
- 4:02Speaker 3: helping coach you. Now that he's head coach of this team,
- 4:05Speaker 3: what have you picked up as far as what he's
- 4:06Speaker 3: brought over here.
- 4:07Speaker 4: That just kind of makes sense as far as continuity.
- 4:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I always knew dealing with him in
- 4:13Speaker 5: Toronto and working with him that he's a very direct coach.
- 4:16Speaker 6: He likes to tell you exactly how how it is.
- 4:19Speaker 5: And where you stand. But he also seems to have
- 4:22Speaker 5: a good grasp and a good hold on this group here.
- 4:25Speaker 5: So it's it's been cool to see and great to
- 4:28Speaker 5: get that first practice and first first a little bit
- 4:31Speaker 5: out of the way with him, and excited to keep
- 4:34Speaker 5: working with him.
- 4:34Speaker 4: What was the most part of what was the most
- 4:36Speaker 4: important part about that first practice.
- 4:39Speaker 5: I think just getting getting on the ice, getting back
- 4:43Speaker 5: seeing these the new faces and knowing that it's just
- 4:46Speaker 5: it's the twenty twenty five new friends that I'm gonna
- 4:50Speaker 5: have here and I'm gonna get to go to battle with.
- 4:52Speaker 5: So guys were great on the ice too. I feel
- 4:55Speaker 5: like he really started yell with guys when you start
- 4:57Speaker 5: getting out there on the ice, because that's the sport
- 4:59Speaker 5: that we love to do, and that's that's where we
- 5:02Speaker 5: love to be is out on the ice, So that's
- 5:03Speaker 5: kind of where you really get to know the guys
- 5:05Speaker 5: and get to play the game with them.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Joining us here Bobby McMahon once again, and I loved
- 5:10Speaker 4: hearing in your scrum with the media before this conversation
- 5:14Speaker 4: on the conversation that you had with Lane Lambert after
- 5:18Speaker 4: the trade deadline and all of this was finalized. When
- 5:21Speaker 4: a head coach can go out of his way to
- 5:24Speaker 4: reach out connect, what does that mean for you as
- 5:27Speaker 4: a player?
- 5:28Speaker 6: Yeah, it goes a long way.
- 5:29Speaker 5: I think when you get traded, especially this late in
- 5:31Speaker 5: the season, there's a lot of question marks as far
- 5:33Speaker 5: as thinking where am I going to fit in? This
- 5:35Speaker 5: group's kind of really established, they've had some good success, Like,
- 5:38Speaker 5: you don't want to come in and disrupt anything, but
- 5:41Speaker 5: he was really good at making sure and easing that
- 5:44Speaker 5: those kind of questions and making sure I know that
- 5:46Speaker 5: this is a spot that I'm wanted and guys are
- 5:48Speaker 5: going to be welcoming, and he's going to be welcoming,
- 5:50Speaker 5: and he's going to work with me and try and
- 5:53Speaker 5: try and get me in the lineup and working and
- 5:56Speaker 5: contributing to this group as soon as possible.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Part of the intrigue with seeing players develop at this
- 6:01Speaker 4: league you often learn that players are completing their own
- 6:05Speaker 4: self as far as the better or best version of
- 6:07Speaker 4: themselves as compared to say the minor leagues or major
- 6:10Speaker 4: junior or college as well. Where did you feel that
- 6:13Speaker 4: you took that next big step as a full time
- 6:16Speaker 4: NHL or being that speed is a part of your game,
- 6:19Speaker 4: the shot is also a big part of your game
- 6:21Speaker 4: as well.
- 6:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I think it started with just kind of work ethic.
- 6:25Speaker 5: When you're in the minor leagues, it's hard to tell
- 6:27Speaker 5: exactly what you should be doing, but I was trusting
- 6:30Speaker 5: kind of the work ethic, the details, making sure it
- 6:32Speaker 5: is showing up every day, working on my game, working
- 6:35Speaker 5: on my skills, working on my shot, trying to continually
- 6:38Speaker 5: work on my skating and my speed. And then when
- 6:41Speaker 5: you get to the NHL, it's like you don't know
- 6:42Speaker 5: if it's going to stack, You don't know how kind
- 6:44Speaker 5: of where you are. You're trying to feel things out.
- 6:45Speaker 5: But then it was probably twenty twenty five games playing
- 6:48Speaker 5: into the NHL in Toronto that I started to find
- 6:51Speaker 5: my game and trust that all that work and all
- 6:53Speaker 5: those skills that I've been working on were going to
- 6:56Speaker 5: pay off, and just trying to trust my game all
- 6:57Speaker 5: the way through.
- 6:58Speaker 4: When you come up from a league like the EHL,
- 7:01Speaker 4: it's a long way away than you know saying what
- 7:03Speaker 4: it feels like to, you know, get bags off the bus,
- 7:07Speaker 4: say at about two am. Now it's a choice of
- 7:09Speaker 4: you know, do you take bus one or do you
- 7:10Speaker 4: take bus too here in the NHL. But what do
- 7:13Speaker 4: you appreciate about that time coming up from the EHL
- 7:16Speaker 4: That helps kind of, you know, shape the player in
- 7:18Speaker 4: the person that you are today.
- 7:19Speaker 5: Yeah, puts it in perspective that you recognize the amount
- 7:22Speaker 5: of UH staff and effort and time that goes into
- 7:29Speaker 5: making sure that everything's taken care of at this level
- 7:31Speaker 5: so that all I can do.
- 7:32Speaker 6: And all I need to do is focus on hockey.
- 7:34Speaker 5: So definitely appreciate the staff here so far. They've all
- 7:36Speaker 5: been super super helpful trying to take care of everything
- 7:39Speaker 5: they possibly can so that all I have to do is.
- 7:41Speaker 6: Go out there and play and practice.
- 7:43Speaker 5: So you really get gain appreciation for the amount of
- 7:47Speaker 5: work that's put in behind the scenes at this level
- 7:50Speaker 5: and to try and play at your.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Best after a couple of days off the Krakend, trying
- 7:54Speaker 3: to you turn this thing in a very big game
- 7:58Speaker 3: against the Nashville Predators. Without further ado Ian forness, the
- 8:02Speaker 3: Mayor and Maple Valley joining us one to three weekdays
- 8:06Speaker 3: ninety three three KJRFM, fantastic work of course on the
- 8:09Speaker 3: Crack and Hockey Network. Mayor the response after Saturday should
- 8:15Speaker 3: be pretty interesting for tonight, shouldn't it, I would hope.
- 8:20Speaker 7: So I also thought the response on Saturday would have
- 8:24Speaker 7: been better because you're out of the trade deadline, the distractions
- 8:28Speaker 7: are gone. You know, that's the group's staying there. I
- 8:31Speaker 7: don't I don't want to say relaxes the word, but
- 8:34Speaker 7: you get my impression. You know, you could have made
- 8:37Speaker 7: the argument that Saturday should have been a lot better. Instead,
- 8:40Speaker 7: Saturday was arguably, I mean, Lane's ended after the game,
- 8:43Speaker 7: there were no positives. Okay, well that makes it, if
- 8:46Speaker 7: not the worst performance of the year, one of them.
- 8:48Speaker 7: So let's let's hope that this game against a team
- 8:53Speaker 7: that's still in the playoff race is a much better
- 8:56Speaker 7: not just outcome, but just a better performance all the
- 8:58Speaker 7: way around.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Yeah, because I think I think if you look at this,
- 9:01Speaker 3: here at least the silver lining and I don't know
- 9:02Speaker 3: if you want to find any silver linings here in
- 9:04Speaker 3: this and that they basically don't lose that wildcard spot
- 9:08Speaker 3: heading into this game against Nashville. And I mentioned this
- 9:11Speaker 3: back in postgame coverage where it's not just the optics,
- 9:15Speaker 3: where now you've got to get two more wins here
- 9:19Speaker 3: to basically reach an a point bar out of twelve.
- 9:22Speaker 3: F you're for this home stand, but also just reverse
- 9:25Speaker 3: some alarming trends that happened in the Ottawa game and
- 9:28Speaker 3: in the Saint Louis game. The Saint Louis game I
- 9:30Speaker 3: think was a bit different because again you're looking at
- 9:33Speaker 3: finish and lack of ability. But Ottawa it was clear
- 9:36Speaker 3: there were effort issues and on a pretty red letter
- 9:40Speaker 3: night fresh out of the trade deadline where you just
- 9:43Speaker 3: had your captain extended. And then also you got a
- 9:45Speaker 3: big trade here for Bobby McMahon coming over and we'll
- 9:48Speaker 3: see when he makes his debut. So I think whether
- 9:51Speaker 3: it was the response after period one or when things
- 9:55Speaker 3: just kind of fell apart in period three. Where do
- 9:59Speaker 3: you look at first year to reverse course tonight against Nashville.
- 10:05Speaker 7: Well, assuming Grubauer goes in goal and starts there, because
- 10:09Speaker 7: Saturday was, you know, one of Joey's worst games of
- 10:12Speaker 7: the year, and there's at least two goals and you
- 10:15Speaker 7: know this is from lame, but I mean we could
- 10:17Speaker 7: all see it. There are at least two goals, and
- 10:18Speaker 7: he probably wants to have back and then he got
- 10:21Speaker 7: he should have he should have picked up an assist
- 10:22Speaker 7: on the third because he gave the buck away thinking
- 10:25Speaker 7: he was Paul Coffee back there. So I I, you know,
- 10:29Speaker 7: you take those three goals off the board, you're kind
- 10:31Speaker 7: of in it still, although you don't know how the
- 10:33Speaker 7: rest of the game, you know, plays out. But I
- 10:36Speaker 7: think it starts in goal. I always expect, you know,
- 10:38Speaker 7: Ruby and a better performance from him than then the
- 10:41Speaker 7: other night that they got for Joey, who would again
- 10:44Speaker 7: take nothing away, was you know, great against Carolina and
- 10:47Speaker 7: to win, you know, eight days ago. But I think
- 10:50Speaker 7: it starts there. And there's just guys you get noticed
- 10:53Speaker 7: in that game, all on the way, and you know
- 10:56Speaker 7: your top line has to be your best line, and
- 10:58Speaker 7: and you know when they are your best line. This
- 11:00Speaker 7: team's humming, you know, like they are. But you know,
- 11:05Speaker 7: the late garbage time goals, if you want to call
- 11:07Speaker 7: it that, I don't even know if I count those
- 11:09Speaker 7: as much. So you've got to get nineteen ten and
- 11:12Speaker 7: seven going. You got to get some contributions from everybody
- 11:16Speaker 7: else not named just the fourth line, And you know,
- 11:20Speaker 7: I think it's just I think you can tell efforts
- 11:24Speaker 7: sometimes and juice. Now, if we want to be honest,
- 11:28Speaker 7: and there are no excuses in the NHL. We all
- 11:30Speaker 7: know that Alis and I talked about it after the
- 11:32Speaker 7: game on TV. I'm sure you and Al did as
- 11:34Speaker 7: well on radio. But nobody feels sorry for you. Nobody's
- 11:37Speaker 7: using excuses in the NHL. This is not the NBA.
- 11:40Speaker 7: There's no such thing as load management. There's no such
- 11:43Speaker 7: if a guy's out with an illness, you know he's sick. Yep, yeah,
- 11:46Speaker 7: but there's no But there's no doubt. There's no doubt
- 11:48Speaker 7: that team was sick on Saturday. Now, I don't know
- 11:51Speaker 7: what was going on Wednesday against Saint Louis, but there's
- 11:54Speaker 7: no doubt that Saturday that there was you know, you
- 11:57Speaker 7: could probably chalk it up that, you know, there credit
- 11:59Speaker 7: we hear from tovid it's some of the guys.
- 12:00Speaker 6: They didn't use that.
- 12:01Speaker 7: But you know, hopefully they're feeling better, they have a
- 12:03Speaker 7: little more energy as well.
- 12:04Speaker 3: At least the indication from Lane Lambert suggests that they
- 12:07Speaker 3: are coming up out of this. As of Monday, and
- 12:10Speaker 3: we saw Ryan Lindgren already jump back in. Freddie Goodreau
- 12:14Speaker 3: was taking line rushes switching here between him and Bobby
- 12:18Speaker 3: McMahon with Chandler Stevenson and Ellie Tulvnan before I get
- 12:22Speaker 3: to McMahon. Even with Jayden Schwartz out of the lineup,
- 12:26Speaker 3: once McMahon is eligible, this is going to again create
- 12:30Speaker 3: a bottleneck, which was well then I think maybe the
- 12:34Speaker 3: ideal time for an extra dose of accountability because no
- 12:39Speaker 3: one wants to come out. But when McMahon's cleared, he's
- 12:42Speaker 3: got to fit in.
- 12:42Speaker 7: What about you, Well, he's gonna he's definitely gonna fit in,
- 12:47Speaker 7: there's no doubt. You know, hopefully it happens to night
- 12:50Speaker 7: against Nashville. We don't know about the immigration. It's one
- 12:54Speaker 7: of those maddening things about this trades is that you
- 12:58Speaker 7: get a guy from Canada. Now, you know, with you know,
- 13:02Speaker 7: just a few weeks left the season. If he's got
- 13:03Speaker 7: to miss more than one game, that's that's brutal. But
- 13:07Speaker 7: here we are. So when he is back, and assuming
- 13:10Speaker 7: Nicko Dreu's healthy because he missed the game of illness,
- 13:13Speaker 7: yeah someone's got to come out. Jamee's already out, so
- 13:15Speaker 7: that makes it just one, not two people that have
- 13:18Speaker 7: to come out. You're not taking Mlanson out. That's a given. Yeah,
- 13:21Speaker 7: that's just that that little that experiment's over, and I
- 13:25Speaker 7: don't think you're taking Myers out. Winterton would be the
- 13:30Speaker 7: first guy probably that does come out when McMahon goes
- 13:33Speaker 7: back in. I would assume, right, but that that's also
- 13:36Speaker 7: about that's actually they're still over one because I was
- 13:39Speaker 7: forgetting about Freddie not playing the other night. So yeah,
- 13:42Speaker 7: there's guys that probably need to be on high alert,
- 13:46Speaker 7: you know, eighty four maybe twenty seven. Although I like
- 13:50Speaker 7: his game. I liked him on the power play on
- 13:53Speaker 7: Saturday when Shortz was hurting he had I would be
- 13:56Speaker 7: hesitant to take Berkeley out of a game, but you
- 13:59Speaker 7: know how it works the NHL. The young guys usually
- 14:01Speaker 7: the ones that the ticket yang. I'd probably think about
- 14:04Speaker 7: fifty one, to be honest with you, I think I
- 14:07Speaker 7: think that's why I'd probably look there. He moved Gadroa
- 14:10Speaker 7: up on the in the lineup. You know he's se
- 14:13Speaker 7: and this.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Is part of the beauty of it, because if you
- 14:15Speaker 3: have to take a center out there, if still flexibility
- 14:17Speaker 3: with others who can play that position.
- 14:20Speaker 7: Well, you got Myers and Miners. Center's your fourth line, right,
- 14:24Speaker 7: so you know how that fourth line looks I'm not sure,
- 14:27Speaker 7: but yeah, I think that's I think that's what I
- 14:30Speaker 7: kind of look at, to be honest with you, it's
- 14:32Speaker 7: there's see. That was the thing was disappointing about Saturday
- 14:35Speaker 7: is that you know, even before Jane Schwartz got hurt,
- 14:39Speaker 7: you're gonna go into that game thick and there's a
- 14:41Speaker 7: sense of urgency because someone's coming out, like there are
- 14:44Speaker 7: guys coming out of the lineup and they're just That
- 14:47Speaker 7: was the odd thing that this doesn't feel like there
- 14:50Speaker 7: was that internal competition taking place. Again. Maybe the illness
- 14:54Speaker 7: was part of it. You know, guys just were not
- 14:56Speaker 7: just involved and sick and you can be a tough
- 14:59Speaker 7: guy all you want. If that was it, then so
- 15:02Speaker 7: be it. We'll see a different team on Tuesday night.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Bobby McMahon, we had a chance to speak with him
- 15:07Speaker 3: when he first arrived here. Again, he can practice before
- 15:10Speaker 3: he is officially cleared to play from immigration, so he
- 15:13Speaker 3: had a chance to talk with the media here and
- 15:16Speaker 3: for our Meet the Cracking series on the Crack and
- 15:19Speaker 3: Audio Network. Full conversation of that coming down the road.
- 15:21Speaker 3: But this is Bobby McMahon talking about the benefits of
- 15:25Speaker 3: playing meaningful hockey at this time of year.
- 15:27Speaker 4: What do you love most about playing and meaningful games
- 15:30Speaker 4: this March, April and May.
- 15:33Speaker 5: Yeah, it makes it that much more fun. It's a
- 15:37Speaker 5: it's a game where it's a game of mistakes, but
- 15:40Speaker 5: it's a game of high stakes too. So you want
- 15:42Speaker 5: to play in games where things matter, where every little play,
- 15:44Speaker 5: every little talk that gets out, every shot on net
- 15:47Speaker 5: makes a difference, every hit you make makes a difference.
- 15:49Speaker 5: That's that's when the real fun hockey is played. And
- 15:52Speaker 5: that's that's what I want to play. And I'm excited
- 15:54Speaker 5: to play here.
- 15:55Speaker 3: You And I'll tell you what for a guy who
- 15:56Speaker 3: came up from the EHL undrafted free agent to make
- 16:00Speaker 3: it this far, I'm looking forward to what he can
- 16:03Speaker 3: add here to this room aside from his game.
- 16:06Speaker 2: What about you, Well, I.
- 16:09Speaker 7: Think he's a good fit. He gives you speed, for sure,
- 16:12Speaker 7: and that's that's number one. Gives you size, physical play,
- 16:16Speaker 7: and finished. He walks in and whenever he whenever he
- 16:19Speaker 7: steps into the lineup, he comes in as the number
- 16:22Speaker 7: two goalscorer on this team with nineteen goals in the season,
- 16:25Speaker 7: behind only Everly, So we know they need guys that
- 16:28Speaker 7: can finish he can finish, and he can and and
- 16:32Speaker 7: you know he uses his physicality, uses his side uh
- 16:36Speaker 7: and speed. And he's a guy that Lei Lambert familiar
- 16:38Speaker 7: with from his time in Toronto with him last year.
- 16:40Speaker 7: So you know, I think it's a real I mean,
- 16:42Speaker 7: I he just kind of looked around. It wasn't the
- 16:44Speaker 7: big splashy trade that I think people were hoping for.
- 16:46Speaker 7: Although really that you know that that happened earlier when
- 16:50Speaker 7: he used other trades that were made. I guess Carlson
- 16:52Speaker 7: would be follow that category. But I think it's a
- 16:55Speaker 7: good addition for Seattle. I think it's you know, I
- 16:57Speaker 7: see people, all the people that want to grade the
- 16:59Speaker 7: trade line. Seems like it's pretty animous to BB plus. Well,
- 17:03Speaker 7: I'll take that. They keep your room impacked. They've earned it,
- 17:07Speaker 7: Guys in the room, you've earned it. If you add
- 17:09Speaker 7: to your you add to your room, you add to
- 17:11Speaker 7: your robster without deleting from what you already have. And
- 17:15Speaker 7: that's I think that's a good thing. It's it's a
- 17:17Speaker 7: win win. Let's let's see how he fits in. But
- 17:19Speaker 7: I don't think they make me trade without a strong
- 17:22Speaker 7: endorsement from Lane Lambert. And so because of that here
- 17:25Speaker 7: he is and let's hopefully see him the lineup later.
- 17:27Speaker 3: We heard that from Lane Lambert before the game on Saturday.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Plus also the history which tells you a lot between
- 17:34Speaker 3: him and the fact that Lane Lambert got on the
- 17:36Speaker 3: phone extensive phone conversation with him after the trade deadline
- 17:39Speaker 3: shows that uh uh, this was certainly a guy that
- 17:42Speaker 3: they wanted and Lane Lambert wanted, and they got him in.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Bobby McMahon onto Nashville.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Finally here special teams, we'll see you can win the
- 17:51Speaker 3: battle on this one. Kraken Nashville bottom half of the
- 17:55Speaker 3: league for power play, penalty or beggar partner, I should
- 17:59Speaker 3: say for a goals for but goals against Crack. And
- 18:02Speaker 3: of course this has been the bread and butter of
- 18:04Speaker 3: twelve best in the NHL, Nashville just twenty eighth at
- 18:08Speaker 3: three point four goals per game allowed. They have gone
- 18:11Speaker 3: winless now in four of their last five games, and
- 18:15Speaker 3: it seems like right now they are hanging on for
- 18:18Speaker 3: dear life in this Western Conference playoff race. It's gonna
- 18:22Speaker 3: be a big one, though the Crack can face him
- 18:24Speaker 3: twice in the nine day span. Nashville is a three
- 18:27Speaker 3: points out of the cut line, the Crack and holding
- 18:30Speaker 3: that what concerns you most of you about this evening? I, well,
- 18:37Speaker 3: it's funny, like the goals against.
- 18:38Speaker 7: I was chuckling because I was taking back that on
- 18:41Speaker 7: Saturday they took on a team and in Ottawa that
- 18:44Speaker 7: had that was thirty second in the league in terms
- 18:47Speaker 7: of say percentage, And you wouldn't have knowiln it from
- 18:49Speaker 7: that game. Of course, if you don't put any pucks
- 18:51Speaker 7: on the net. I think eight there were eleven of
- 18:53Speaker 7: the first two period. That's what's gonna happen. But I
- 18:56Speaker 7: don't even think it has to do with Nashville. It's
- 18:58Speaker 7: just Seattle. You know, if the Crack can come out
- 19:01Speaker 7: and play their game, you know, if they played their game,
- 19:04Speaker 7: no matter who's in the lineup, they play their game,
- 19:06Speaker 7: and that game includes solid, if not outstanding goaltending. But
- 19:11Speaker 7: if they play their game, I think they come away
- 19:14Speaker 7: with two points. Mike, make no mistake about it. It's
- 19:18Speaker 7: a must. It's a must win. Like not mathematically, but
- 19:23Speaker 7: if you want to just be realistic, you got to
- 19:26Speaker 7: get that win. Like you you lose twice to a
- 19:29Speaker 7: team in Saint Louis out of the playoff picture, and
- 19:32Speaker 7: so there's four points down. Atom was a good hockey team.
- 19:35Speaker 7: You know, their the Eastern Conference team, so people don't
- 19:37Speaker 7: pay attention. They're in the West. They'd be in a
- 19:39Speaker 7: playoff position based on their points and everything else. But
- 19:42Speaker 7: like that's probably two points or at least the point
- 19:45Speaker 7: you hope to get. I mean, pretty makes a pretty
- 19:47Speaker 7: strong argument. There's four to six points that you've left
- 19:49Speaker 7: on the table over the last couple of weeks. Just
- 19:53Speaker 7: can't have that happen again, especially with the team in
- 19:55Speaker 7: your conference that's trying to chase you down. You're not
- 19:58Speaker 7: getting a lot of help, you know, I mean, just
- 20:00Speaker 7: for an example, on Monday, there was the early afternoon
- 20:03Speaker 7: game Monday afternoon and in Columbus and La comes away
- 20:06Speaker 7: with a fly four overtime win. Like, you're not getting help,
- 20:09Speaker 7: and but nor should you. It's up to you. You know,
- 20:12Speaker 7: Allison brought this up and that she nailed it. It's
- 20:14Speaker 7: like you control the crack and control their own destiny.
- 20:18Speaker 7: They don't have to catch anybody. They just have to
- 20:20Speaker 7: hold on now. Obviously, the ideal to move up finishing
- 20:24Speaker 7: third in the Pacific.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Would be awesome.
- 20:26Speaker 7: That the outstanding the boy Colorado in the first round probably,
- 20:29Speaker 7: but like they control their own destiny. They win, they're
- 20:33Speaker 7: in that's simple, and that's kind of a nice position
- 20:37Speaker 7: to be in. Probably is they haven't been doin anything. Yeah,
- 20:40Speaker 7: you know, out of the break two and four, you know,
- 20:43Speaker 7: out of the out of the olyptic break two and
- 20:45Speaker 7: four's not good.
- 20:47Speaker 3: And that challenge became a bit more challenging as well
- 20:49Speaker 3: because the Kings beat Columbus yesterday in overtime, so both
- 20:53Speaker 3: the Sharks and the King's one point back of the
- 20:56Speaker 3: Kraken entry in the saving the Krack and would love
- 20:59Speaker 3: a similar formula from their first matchup against Nashville, winning
- 21:02Speaker 3: for one back on New Year's Day, two goals by
- 21:05Speaker 3: Matt e Vaniers, Phil Grubauer, twenty four saves and the
- 21:09Speaker 3: only one who got on the board was Roman yoc
- 21:12Speaker 3: Ford Nashville, Mayor, thank you, have a good show.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Appreciate you, thank you, Mike, take care all right, Mayor,
- 21:19Speaker 2: thank you very much.
- 21:20Speaker 3: That is Ian Fornest joining us once again host for
- 21:22Speaker 3: the Krack and Hockey Network also heard one to three
- 21:25Speaker 3: weekdays on ninety three three KJRFM with the crackt again
- 21:29Speaker 3: getting set for matchup number two against the Nashville Predators.
- 21:33Speaker 3: They'll face off one more time after this March nineteenth,
- 21:37Speaker 3: for the only visit into Nashville for the regular season
- 21:41Speaker 3: for weeks. Players like Ryan O'Reilly, Steven Stamkos, and Jonathan
- 21:45Speaker 3: Marchesso we're in reported trade talks. None of them move
- 21:48Speaker 3: by trade deadline time. O'reiley comes in right now the
- 21:52Speaker 3: leading score on the Nashville side sixty points in sixty
- 21:56Speaker 3: two games, and Steven Stamkos at a thirty five still
- 21:59Speaker 3: continuing to produce with thirty goals in sixty three games
- 22:03Speaker 3: right now, leading Nashville in the goals scoring front. March
- 22:07Speaker 3: is so, and during a tough season right now just
- 22:09Speaker 3: eleven goals and nineteen points and an injury shortened forty
- 22:12Speaker 3: four games.
- 22:13Speaker 2: March is so.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Of course, you might recall from this Vegas Golden nine
- 22:16Speaker 3: Days inflicting plenty of Dam and John m kracken with
- 22:19Speaker 3: fourteen points in fifteen lifetime matchups, but a lot of
- 22:23Speaker 3: that Dam has done in a Vegas Jersey ever since
- 22:26Speaker 3: he went to Nashville, just one assist in three games.
- 22:29Speaker 3: So is a turn coming back in the right direction
- 22:32Speaker 3: this evening, looking forward to unfolding matters with you once again,
- 22:35Speaker 3: beginning at six thirty Face House will past seven o'clock
- 22:38Speaker 3: in We're back at Tom's Watchbar once again for postgame
- 22:41Speaker 3: coverage up to and now we're after the final horn.
- 22:44Speaker 2: You certainly hope that you can join.
- 22:46Speaker 3: This big thank him again to Bobby McMahon and Ian Furness.
- 22:49Speaker 3: I for Kracken this morning, I'm Mike Benton. Enjoy the game.
