- 2:37we can't let Delaware feta O Nike. Only ten seconds more, but it's
- 2:40high Patsy, come on, Smokey Maid and both make it Smokey worse.
- 2:47Nick, I miss Patsy, Smoky missed again, and that's the end of
- 2:53the game. Well they took a linking. I'd sort of hope that Smokey
- 2:58Beats can help us lake Delaware this he looked like a flash when he joined
- 3:00the club last month. Oh well, don't look so sad, Nick,
- 3:04Think how much worse Smoky baits feels Oh high, is Smoky? I've been
- 3:27expecting you. Come in, Come in, nice little joke. You got
- 3:31here fella place upstairs just to be a dance fall. This is the basement
- 3:36costs us three bucks a month. Rent, Hey, who's the dame?
- 3:39All right? That's Frand hollis a friend? This here, Smoky bakes,
- 3:46Smoky, Hi a friend. Nice game you played tonight, thanks say,
- 3:50which reminds me. Here's your dough, Smoky? What the five bucks nice
- 3:55pay for just missing a few baskets now and then? Yeah, I'll say
- 3:59so. We cleaned up pretty good on the bets too, made some nice
- 4:01dough. Yeah, boy, this twenty five fields good in the pocket?
- 4:04Bad? That's pin money, kid, peanuts. We could cut you in
- 4:10on some real though. If you want to play ball, you mean throw
- 4:14another game. Wake up, kid, wake up. Life ain't all basketball
- 4:18games. If you're the kind of guy that's got nerve and brains and likes
- 4:23plenty of excitement, you you could make plenty of though. Yeah, Jerry
- 4:27and Jean from your club join up with Noonan last night. What do you
- 4:30make a week? Noonan? Oh? Forty fifty bucks season? What do
- 4:33you say, Smoky? I think maybe this is just what I've been looking
- 4:38for. You can count me in noonan good, it's a deal. Meet
- 4:42me here tomorrow Morning's seven thirty, Smoky, bring twenty newspapers and a screwdriver.
- 4:46What's the paper's gotta do with it? Look, smoky, here's the
- 4:48pitch. You and me is gonna make like we're newsboys in case we get
- 4:53stopped. Oh, I get it. We make like we're on a delivery
- 4:57rock. That's right, only we don't work for no pikers though, like
- 5:02regular newsies do. There's apopping house and next bates. What do we do
- 5:16here? Same as the last place? Ah? Now we use a different
- 5:19technique in here. It's the first apartment on the right. Ring the bell,
- 5:26You kidding? Ring? An Ice said? This is another of the
- 5:30joints I've been casing. Like guy said, it's a cinch to look in
- 5:33the first floor apartments and get the dope. The guy lives here alone,
- 5:38goes to work every morning's seven. That's why you rang the bell. Yeah,
- 5:41just to make sure he ain't in. Give me that screw driver,
- 5:46a kid, I'm gonna show you a fancy way to open the locks.
- 5:49I don't match. I want light. Okay, this guy keeps his dough
- 5:55in the kitchen in a sugar can. He's just movie. How are you
- 5:59kids doing nothing? Mester with just a livering papers? Or do you think
- 6:02you're fooling mic Ice? How you're working at the lock of that screw driver.
- 6:06There are a couple of sneak No, you're drunk it away, Sunny,
- 6:11get your head off me, little tin hard casters you got us wrong,
- 6:15mister w ain't crust? How's smoking it out of the way? Try
- 6:18not to be funny, old What do you got in your hand there?
- 6:21Mister God, I think I'll fall for that, sunny boy, I'll falling
- 6:27for it. But good Grandpa, Likeick, what's the rush? Where are
- 6:41we driving to? I got a telephone call from Matty Patsy insisted I drop
- 6:45everything and hurry up to one twenty Amsterdam Avenue. Says my downtown boys club
- 6:48is involved it he is? I don't know. Maddy wouldn't say, yea,
- 6:53we are one twenty, come on right, oh? That he would
- 6:57say it was that he discovered the murder. Murder hey that you Nick?
- 7:03Yes, Maddy, it's a nasty case. Nick. Looks like one of
- 7:08your boys is mixed up in it. I'd hate to believe that, Maddy,
- 7:11Man. We'll look here. This corpse is Homer well Hand, janitor
- 7:15of the building. Oh eh, quiet you boys, what are you quiet?
- 7:20He was found dead about a half an hour ago, twenty two caliber
- 7:25bullet right through the heart, in some kind of scrap before he was shot.
- 7:29Nick, Yeah, I see the scratches on his hand. And look
- 7:31what we found inside one hand a piece of wool torn from a sweater,
- 7:36and on it a small silver pin with the initials dbc oh. Nick is
- 7:45a Downtown Boys Club pin. Yes, I'm sorry to say, Well,
- 7:49Nick, Maddie, I can't answer for every boy in the club. We've
- 7:51got over one hundred members. One or two may be kind to do a
- 7:56thing like this, But hey, who belongs to this screwdriver? Well?
- 8:01I figured it was the janitor's, but I don't figure all these newspapers.
- 8:05What happened is Zavius. Some boy came in here this morning carrying these newspapers,
- 8:09probably the disguise himself as a newsboy. Eh, tried to jimmy open
- 8:13the apartment door with the screw How can you tell? Screwdriver's brand new passy
- 8:18and there are flakes of metal on the end of it that match the metal
- 8:20of the door lock. See the fresh scratches and the brass. Holy smoke.
- 8:24I didn't boy use matches for light. You can tell because there's several
- 8:28burnt paper matches on the floor. Also the match book, which has probably
- 8:31dropped to the scubble. That's right, and the janitor interrupted him. There
- 8:35was a fight and then the murder. Typical case of juvenile delinquency. Nick,
- 8:43we gotta get down to your club and pick this kid up right away,
- 8:46Patty. There are more than a hundred kids in that club, but
- 8:48it'll take a week to question every one and a month to check their alibis
- 8:52with gotter work quicker than that. How can we neg the wolf from the
- 8:54sweater? As your lead, Patsy, check the stores that sells sweaters.
- 8:56It may be possible to trace the sale to the boy who's wearing it.
- 9:00Uh huh. I also check the club. Someone may be able to identify
- 9:03this weather day Right now, What are you gonna do? This match book
- 9:05is my lead, Maddy. It's got the address of a candy store on
- 9:07Sherman Avenue on it. The old Sherman dancehel you know the place, Yeah,
- 9:11gang maybe upriating them around there they are, I'll find them. I
- 9:18don't like cheap tin horn crooks, especially in my club. Close the door
- 9:35smoking, okay, Noonan, Hi, Hi Jerry, hygiene frannate here?
- 9:41Huh nope smoking? How'd you make out? Lousy? Are you kidding to
- 9:46thirty three bucks in cash and some jewelry? You call it lousy. I
- 9:48call murder lousy murder. Yeah, it's like I've been telling you, Noonan.
- 9:54It's okay swiping a few books, but I don't go for killing.
- 9:56I'm getting out of here right now, running out to squeal the papa nick
- 10:00Catta. Huh like fun? You up? You need a little slugging around
- 10:05the wise up out? Okay, you're talking enough to loan, but I
- 10:09can take you anytime. Your wins bad noding. You're weak. Why didn't
- 10:13you just play a little basket? Hey? Let it eat easy? You
- 10:16not get headed like that smoke he's reaching first pet of Norman. Yeah,
- 10:24I dropped him. You have squeal. I'm sure's anything. Look, you
- 10:28guys gotta help me get rid of the body. Yeah, get rid of
- 10:31it yourself. I'm getting out of here he too, and don't weave that
- 10:33gun at us noon and only holds one shot. We'll be gone before you
- 10:35can reload it. Here in on this killing, So remember that who we
- 10:37were in with. We're getting out. Like Smokey said, bus is one
- 10:41thing, but murder's something else. If you guys got we ain't gonna squeal
- 10:43a loader. Don't worry about us, Just start worrying about smoking. You'll
- 10:46do more talking dead than it ever done. Alive alone in the basement with
- 10:58the body of Smoky Baits and begins working desperately to find a hiding place for
- 11:01the corpse. We'll see what happens next in just a moment. All back
- 11:11to the case of Aluminous Spots. Today's adventure with Nick Carter brought to you
- 11:16by all Dutch Glinter. An hour after the murder of Smoky Baits, Nick
- 11:20and Mattie cautiously descend the steps leading to the basement of the Sherman Dance Hall.
- 11:30This is the place the Candy starman told us about, Matty. Gang
- 11:33of kids use it for club maybe, but it's empty now. I was
- 11:37a smell of fresh cigarette smoke. Here. Hey, wait a minute,
- 11:43there's water on the floor. It's pitch dark in here. I can't see
- 11:46a thing. Look, Mattie, where I'm flashing my light? What the
- 11:48rest of this place is a shambles? Somebody's been trying to scrub this part
- 11:52of the floor. Why the spring house clean? And maybe I doubt it
- 11:58that we'll find out. I'm going back to my car to get my put
- 12:01of a lab kit. While I'm doing that, you get some policemen.
- 12:03What what's the entrance of the seller? Tell them to let anyone in,
- 12:07but not to let anyone out. When I come back, I may have
- 12:09something interesting to show you already many Yeah? Sure, Hey, what's that
- 12:24thing you got there? Spray gown filled with a derivative poloc acid? Let
- 12:31come again, put out your flashlight and I'll show you something. Okay,
- 12:35boy, it's blackest pitching here. Now watch well I spray this acid and
- 12:39the wet spots where the floors again scrubbed. Yeah, hey, Nick,
- 12:46there's blue spots appearing on the floor. Flower like phosphorous, don't they Yeah?
- 12:52They burn just like a blue flame. That's what I expected, would
- 12:56have it, Nick remorse, what's awehead? There has come on? Will
- 13:00follow and see where they lead to see, I just keep spraying. The
- 13:07spots keep on appearing. Yeah, sure, but what the thickens is the
- 13:11stuff that's burning blood, Matty? Yep, did you say blood? That's
- 13:16what I said. Calic acid is a recent discovery makes the heman and the
- 13:20blood glow in the dark, even if it's been cleaned up. Yes,
- 13:24enough, follow, it remains to react like this. Hey, Nick,
- 13:30Look, the blood spots lead directly to that old ash pile. Yes,
- 13:35that's the body buried under the ashes. There's a shovel matter, take a
- 13:39look. Yeah, sure, as flash I can. I'll hold the flesh
- 13:41for you. Okay, come on, come on, come on, Matti,
- 13:48hurry, hurry, I am, I am. Wait a minute,
- 13:58yep, but that good grief, Nick, it's a body. Yes,
- 14:05we uncover his face. Oh good, Nick, you know who he is.
- 14:15It's Smoky Baits, one of the kids in my downtown boys. Clud.
- 14:18Oh that's too bad. Poor kids, shot through the heart, probably
- 14:24by the same murderer that killed well Nick. He's wearing the sweater that matches
- 14:28the piece of yarn found in Wellen's hand. Yeah, Nick, it's a
- 14:33girl. Yeah, that's the light, so she can't see us. Yeah,
- 14:35sure, but what much it comes close up? Flashed the light in
- 14:37her face as hello, Oh, you're blinding me looking for someone who wants
- 14:48to know. It's a Sergeant Mathison of the homicide Squad. I'm Nick Carter.
- 14:52What's your name, fran Francis Hollis? Looking for someone to particular?
- 14:56Miss Hollis. Well, that is a friend of mine. You wanted me
- 15:00to meet her here, and her you usually refer to your girlfriends as fellows.
- 15:05Oh sure, it's kind of a gang. What's the name of the
- 15:07friend you're supposed to meet here, Sally Broh You usually meet her here.
- 15:11No, I've never been here before, mister Carter, And you know nothing
- 15:13about a gang of boys that hang out here. The gang. Oh no,
- 15:16no, mister Carter. Oh you, Miss Hollis almost seventeen, it's
- 15:20two o'clock. Why aren't you in school? Well, I had a study
- 15:22period and I kind of slipped off. I guess Sally must have been playing
- 15:26a trick on me. Yeah, look, you better go back to school,
- 15:30miss Hollis. You might get into trouble. Yeah, sure, I
- 15:33hate to get caught playing hockey, Maddy. Yeah, I have one of
- 15:35the men follow that girl, okay, and tell them to let her see
- 15:39she's being followed. Also tell him to make sure she goes to school.
- 15:41I needs to wait and follow her home after school. Right in the meantime,
- 15:43I'll do a little checking on her and then rush down to the club.
- 15:46If Smoky Bates was mixed up with this gang, there's a chance to
- 15:48some of my other boys maybe too, Okay, Between Francis Hollis and the
- 15:52Downtown Boys Club, we ought to be able to pick up the killer.
- 16:07Everybody here in the gym now, Patsy, Yes, I've rounded up every
- 16:10last boy. Good. Let me have your attention a minute, Colors.
- 16:18A few hours ago, Smokey Bates was murdered in the basement of the Sherman
- 16:22Dance Hall. He was shot down like a dog, dragged to an ash
- 16:27heap, and buried in dirt and rubbish. He was murdered by a killer
- 16:32without decency, honor, or shame. Now it may be that some of
- 16:37you here had been mixed up with this killer, And if you have,
- 16:41I can understand why you saw a chance for some easy money, for excitement
- 16:48and adventure. You figured the law wasn't your friend, It was just another
- 16:52rival to compete with. You thought crime was a bigger, more thrilling game.
- 17:00That's what smoke he thought. And I've told you what happened to him.
- 17:06But crime isn't fun. It's dirty, mean, dangerous. How were
- 17:12you? Whoever you are, I'd be ashamed and scared. Whoever it is
- 17:22who's mixed up in this as a choice to make. He can come down
- 17:26to my office and let me help him out of this jam. And believe
- 17:29me and my word of honor, I'll do everything I can. Or he
- 17:33can try to bluff his way out of it, but if he does,
- 17:37Heaven help him. Cha. Oh, hello, Jerry, come on in,
- 17:56Come in, Jean, we're the guys. Yeah, well, fellows,
- 18:03I'm glad you came to me. You're in a bad mess. This
- 18:08is the only way to work it out. Yeah, I guess you're right.
- 18:11I guess it's like you said, mister Carter. We just started off
- 18:17doing it for fun. But when he killed Smokey? Who killed Smoky Jane?
- 18:23I can't tell you, mister Carter. I'll look, mister Carter.
- 18:26We'll tell you everything we get. We'll pay back every nickel we swipe.
- 18:30We'll do anything you say, but we can't squeal on this guy. We
- 18:33gave him my word, we wouldn't, Okay, Jerry, that's the way
- 18:36you feel. I'm not going to insist. I'll get him without your help.
- 18:41But there's one thing I do insist on, Fellows, and it's not
- 18:44going to be easy for you. You're going to the police. You're going
- 18:48to confess everything you've done. You've got to take what's coming to you.
- 18:53I understand, yes, mister Carter. Sure, mister Carter. Good boys,
- 18:59And if it'll give you any satisfaction, Miss Bone and I are driving
- 19:02to fran Hollis's home right now, and inside of an hour, the killer
- 19:06of Smoky Bates is going to get what's coming to him. Nick, how
- 19:21come you know where fran Hollis lives? A little check him before I went
- 19:25back to the club, Patsy, Oh, Maddie should be here to meet
- 19:26me by now. This is it the White Clapport house. How much does
- 19:32Frand know about the murder's Nick? I don't think she knows anything. You
- 19:34don't. She wouldn't have comparging into the basement if she did. But she
- 19:38is mixed up with the gang. Maybe we can locate the killer through her.
- 19:44Oh, there is Maddie standing in the doorway, and is he mad?
- 19:48I'm in the house here, and for the love of Pete Hurriyett all
- 19:52at all. I take it easy, Maddie. That bonehead cop let the
- 19:55Hollis girl get away. Well, let's have him, Mattie. What happened?
- 19:59He tailor back to school, then he tailed her home. Then then
- 20:02about five minutes ago, a whole flock of girls trooped in here to see
- 20:06her. A couple of minutes later, they all marched down and she went
- 20:10with him, and my man didn't spot her. Oh us, she got
- 20:14a hand it to her. She's a smart kid. Okay, okay,
- 20:18so what what do we do now? I'll show you. I'll show you.
- 20:19Come on over here to the telephone. Hey, wait a minute,
- 20:22I'll come. You know where the phone was. I was here a little
- 20:25while ago as an inspector for the phone company. Oh so that's the checking
- 20:27up you were doing. Yes, so I figured family was smart enough to
- 20:32spot the coffee put on her tail. That's why she came straight home from
- 20:34school. Didn't she let you in the house? She did? Oh,
- 20:37my man must have missed you too. Look sad. Why didn't I?
- 20:40But look, how come she didn't spot your voice as belonging to the guy
- 20:44she talked to in the basement of the Sherman dance hold because I used a
- 20:48different voice. Why are you moving to dat board just so I can pick
- 20:53this up? What's that thing? Looks like a small radio? Better than
- 20:57that? I said. I was sure a friend would head for home,
- 21:00and she did. She wanted to do some phoning in a hurry. Only
- 21:03I got here before she had a chance to. And then what I set
- 21:06this small wire recorder down here on the floor next to the telephone box.
- 21:08So that's what that is? A wire recorder. Look, Nick, wire
- 21:12tapping this out? It won't stand up in court anymore. This isn't wire
- 21:15taping ready, it ain't. No, no, I don't have to attach
- 21:18it to the phone. Said, you just laid this wire near the telephone
- 21:22wire and it picks up what said over the telephone. That's right, Betsy,
- 21:25we'll all be done. What do they think up next? I don't
- 21:29know yet, Manny, you but didn't you see you leave the recorder?
- 21:32I asked her to get me a drink of water, Patsy, and while
- 21:33she was out of the room. I fixed it, and I'm sure she
- 21:36made a phone called a minute after I left the house. Oh, let's
- 21:38see what's happened. There were cops down and you cut. We were snooping
- 21:45around and it's been a cop pony all afternoon. Honey, Why do the
- 21:48racket cops down the basement? Hey, that ain't so good. Kill me?
- 21:52What's up? Okay, Frenny, listen, I'm over at the Sherman
- 21:55Killing Station. Yeah. I just acquired a car. Beat it over here
- 21:57and I'll tell you what's doing after watching my house. Maybe use your brains.
- 22:02You can figure a way to get out. Just hurry up over here.
- 22:03So long. Hey, that's all there is said. Enough matter.
- 22:07You stay here and cover the house. Patsy, come at me. There's
- 22:10not a minute to lose. Nick and Patsy dash out of Frand Hollis's house,
- 22:21hoping to meet her and Smokey Bates Killer in just a minute. We'll
- 22:23see whether they left in time and how. For the conclusion of the case
- 22:33of the Luminous Spots brought to you by all Dutch Glinter. At the curb
- 22:37in front of the Sherman filling station, Joe Noman sits impatiently in a new
- 22:41sedan. As he sees Francis Hollis approaching, he calls out softly, Bryan,
- 22:47over here in the car, nobody followed me. Well kept you so
- 22:51long. I'm gonna hurry. We told you. And before I've been followed
- 22:52all afternoon, and I had to get rid of some kids and I had
- 22:56to duck in it latter Alice to make sure nobody followed me here. Okay,
- 22:57okay, the car, baby, I listen, Chid, the car
- 23:02is taking you and me right out of town for good shot. I gotta
- 23:04work fast, baby, So the explanations will have to keep. Now.
- 23:07This is what you're gonna do. They can't. We budge into the filling
- 23:11station. See, and as soon as we get inside, you pull a
- 23:14faint. Just stop right under the floor. Out cool, you understand.
- 23:17Yeah, but just do it, kid, that's all. Just do it.
- 23:18Come on you want Yeah, I gotta have a set of new gassa.
- 23:26I feel kind of funny with Antram. Give me your hand. Get
- 23:33her off the floor. Okay, mister, you want to help, you
- 23:36can reach you get over against the wall. Get the rod. He keeps
- 23:38on the registered fran it'll shoot a lot better than this. Thinking twenty two,
- 23:41I got grab the dough out of the registered to kid like. I
- 23:45told your friend, we need that dome. We ain't got all day,
- 23:47all right. I don't think this character is gonna spill anything that anybody.
- 23:52You're gonna kill him? Why not? Then I won't get mixed up in
- 23:55a killing. You're mixed up already, Baby, I knocked off Smoky Bates.
- 23:59You kill stops. Why do you think the cops run your tail?
- 24:03Are you with me? Or do you want to get over there against the
- 24:04wall with him? Please let me out of here, please, Kate,
- 24:07Baby, get over there. I'll knocked the bolt off, all right,
- 24:12all right, take it eat your friend. Nobody's rich. I guess shot
- 24:15the gun of your boyfriend's hand. That's all. Sorry. I couldn't get
- 24:18her any sooner. It was soon enough to end the criminal career of mister
- 24:22Noonan. Well, that's about all the risk of the case, Patsy.
- 24:38They've got Noonan for two murders, and we've got him cold. Yeah,
- 24:42but how did he kill Smoky? Him? Well? And Nick, one
- 24:45of the reasons he held up the gas station was to get a revolver.
- 24:48He had a small single shot pistol at fire as a twenty two caliber shell.
- 24:52Would have preferred something better, though doubt but that was deadly enough at
- 24:55close brain. Oh, well, if the case is finished, Nick,
- 24:57where we're driving to this small Oh? The case isn't finish, Patsy,
- 25:00as far as I'm concerned, has just started. What do you mean we're
- 25:04getting out here? Come on? Oh? But this is the courthouse we're
- 25:07headed for. I don't get it, Patsy. You and I are going
- 25:11into that court and put up the fight of our lives for Jerry, Jean
- 25:15and Fran Hollish. But Nick, what can you do? Get them suspended
- 25:18sentences? I hope, and then we're really going to work on them at
- 25:21the Downtown boys Club. You mean Fran a girl at the Downtown boys Club.
- 25:25Oh, I forgot to tell you, Patsy. The boy's club is
- 25:27opening a girl's luxiliary and you're running it. I'm running it now. See
- 25:33here, Nick Cart, Patsy, if I do any arguing this morning,
- 25:36I'm going to do it in court. Those kids aren't hardened criminals, and
- 25:40I'm not counting this case a success unless I save them. Well, Nick,
- 25:52can you tell us something about the adventure Old Dutch Cleanser is going to
- 25:56bring us next week. Next week, we're going to meet a young war
- 25:59veteran who is started to turn me into a detective college. Only he unfortunately
- 26:03turned himself into a number one murder suspect. Nick got him out of it
- 26:07by making him wear gloves, gloves and detective colleges. Sounds fascinating. What
- 26:11do you call a story, Nick, I call it the Case of the
- 26:14Missing Thumb. Nick carter Master Detective is presented each week at this time and
- 26:23over these same stations by the Cuttyheat Packing Company, makers of All Dutch Cleanser.
- 26:37Nick carter Master Detective, produced and directed by Jock McGregor, is copyrighted
- 26:42by Street and Smith Publications Incorporated. Lon Clark is starred as Nick, with
- 26:48Charlotte Manson featured as Patsy Matt. He is played by Ed Latimer. Today's
- 26:52script was written by Alfred Bester. Original music is played by George Wright.
- 26:57This program is fictional and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead is
- 27:03given a coincidental This is Bob Martin saying, when minutes count, use all
- 27:08Dutch Glendon this is the mutual broadcasting system. Welcome back. Well, this
- 27:33one episode of Nick Carter was probably one of the most topical stories that Nick
- 27:41Carter uh did, dealing with the issue of juvenile delinquency, which was a
- 27:48huge, huge concern after World War Two and after most wars there's typically an
- 27:56increase of it, and mind to head it off in whatever Waste Possible was
- 28:03something that was the focus of a lot of radio programs of the era.
- 28:07It is good to have the whole idea of the Boys Club mentioned. It's
- 28:11a statement, doesn't play more into a plot other than giving Nick a chance
- 28:15to address juvenile delinquency. And now we turn to listener comments and feedback for
- 28:21a couple of thoughts on some older shows, and Christy says, I've been
- 28:30catching off on shows that I think sound interesting and I've loved almost all of
- 28:33them. The Abbots wasn't me, The wife annoyed me. Frank Race has
- 28:37been highly enjoyable and reminds me of the Clive Klustler books. The pairing seems
- 28:42a lot like Dick Pitt and Al Gordino. Wish there were more of them.
- 28:49Well, Christy, I'm glad you enjoyed Frank Race, and I encourage
- 28:53people who are newer to the program, particularly if you don't have the app,
- 28:57to go to archives dot Greatdetectives dot nette and you can take a look
- 29:03at our older programs and see what we have and what might interest you.
- 29:07I'm probably not the best judge of which ones you should listen to, because
- 29:14I like them all and I love most of them. So We've played a
- 29:18wide variety and in the past and continue to. But thanks so much for
- 29:23the email, and appreciate you continuing to enjoy the shows, even the older
- 29:30ones. All right, well, that'll do it for today. If you
