- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Hey guys, welcome back to Scream Community.
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: This is your host Ecca and I'm so excited about her guest today.
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: I am such a fan and have been for quite some time now.
- 0:09SPEAKER_01: She is just such a light.
- 0:10SPEAKER_01: Every time I watch her content and her videos, it's just a brightening that happens in my day, you know?
- 0:16SPEAKER_01: And so I can't rave enough about just her talent and her work.
- 0:19SPEAKER_01: So and a lot of you might know her actually as the lost Kardashian, but I think she has rightfully earned her space as truly, you know, part of the Kardashian family at this point.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: If you've watched her skits, you know what I mean.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: So without further ado, I want to introduce you guys to Yuri Lamasmilla.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: Welcome to the show, Yuri.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: I'm so honored to be hosting you.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: Hi, thank you so much.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: It makes me so happy to know that you really like my content and that it makes you happy.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: That the really, really I I really appreciate it.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: So thank you so much.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Of course.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: No, it does.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: And it comes from the heart because honestly, I I work in the medical field and I know a lot of people out there are stressed right now.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: And just to have like true comedic relief, I feel like today it's hard to find that, you know.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: Like I grew up as a millennial, so like it's it's hard to make us laugh.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: Leslie, it's the truth.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: But you do such an amazing job at it.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: And I just I love your videos and your content.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: I want to get started and learn about you because you know, I've always been curious, like, what got you into acting and what got you into comedy specifically?
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Well, honestly, I think I just live my life this way.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: I don't I never really like to take myself too seriously.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Corporate jobs were never in my realm, and I never really excelled in that only because I just strive to always be creative and think outside the box.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: So, like anything so structural and so serious, I always try to find the joke in it.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: And I also love reality TV.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: So that's really how I just got started with my comedic content.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: But I I live this way naturally.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Like I try not to take myself seriously, try to look at the joke and everything and look at life, you know, in a more positive light, especially after COVID and the pandemic.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: You know, I felt like it was really hard to get out of that state if you were like in a really, you know, bad state or because of the pandemic.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: So I really, really always try to look at the positives of things.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: And I found that through comedy.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: So that's really was it was my escape.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: And then I did it for, you know, my myself.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: And then I let everybody see and everyone loved it.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: So I'm very grateful that people love it.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: It's truly, truly awesome.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: And I and I think that, you know, you made such a good point about like, you know, going into corporate.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: I think a lot of people, I know, like, you know, back when, you know, I was deciding in college, a lot of people went the corporate route.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: And even now when I speak to them, they're like, yeah, you know, there's a burnout phase that happens there, you know, and it kind of forces you to figure out what you really want to do, you know, for your own self.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: And I think it's a it's very relatable, you know what I mean?
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: What you said is it that's really what I'm trying to say.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: It's very relatable.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: And I, you know, I think a lot of people go through that, but I mean, I just love how you've you channeled, you know, that exploration in such a creative outlet, and it's it's really just you know so appreciated by your fans.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: We love you.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: So thank you so Melinda.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I wanna I want to actually ask you what inspired you to pick the Kardashians as your music for your comedy skits?
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: Well, I just think that if I could embody anybody, it would be them only because I'm a huge fan.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Always happen, always love watching keeping up, watched every episode.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: And I think the in-person, like the impression just came naturally.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: And so I just took that and ran with it.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: And through the years, we've developed the characters even more, bringing in props and wigs and you know, more of their characteristics on camera.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: And I also thought they were really funny, I think they're really funny people, like just in general.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: And they're also people that don't take anything to the heart, like take they take things very lightly, you know, especially I know you know that Kardashians don't get as much grace as the average celebrity does.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: So the way that they take it on the chin, and you know, they actually they love the videos too.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: So the fact that they can take a moment and laugh at themselves as well.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: I mean, it just shows how, you know, they're just lighthearted, funny people.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: So I think I just gravitated towards all of that.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely.
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: No, I completely agree with you.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: And I honestly, I've been a fan of keeping up the Kardashians for like literally, like, you know, as long as I can remember remember watching reality TV.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: I think a lot of people like won't admit that.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: But like they were like ever since like, you know, the real world and stuff, right?
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: With reality TV, like the Kardashians were like the next big thing, you know, that all of us were so excited to watch their show.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: And I think that's something that needs to be acknowledged, you know, at the end of the day, because people, yeah, you're right, you know, they do get a lot of grief.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: And it's, I mean, you know, I think celebrities have that burden, but you know, it's at the end of the day, it's definitely more so with them.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: I've noticed that as well, you know.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: But I love them and I think they're absolutely, you know, it's hilarious watching the show.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: So when I see your skits, it's always like, you know, it adds on to that, and it's so relatable because you always reference something, you know, in their actual like show or in an episode, and it's just really cool.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: So, you know, I have to ask you, who is your favorite Kardashian and why?
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: Because I know we all have our favorites.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: Mine is Courtney, by the way.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: Yours is Courtney.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: Of course.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: Courtney is such a fan favorite.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: My I would say my favorite is Kim, only because I love her entrepreneurial spirit.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: I love her business drive, I love pretty much everything about her.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: But the who I if I didn't care about what anybody thought about me, I would be so Courtney because I just love the way that she thinks her outlook on life.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: So I would say that it's Kim, but if I live more carefree spirit, then definitely Courtney.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: Well, I mean, you do just you do such a great job, like, you know, like transition, like, you know, just kind of channeling them in your in your skits.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, I'm I was curious.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I wonder which one she gravitates more towards.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: Because your Courtney is like on point.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: Like it's like, you know, so yeah, that's really cool.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: I got though.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I would say Courtney's my favorite to to impersonate, only because she's so funny.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: She's the one, you know, everything everyone's there to see Courtney, you know.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: So I I love doing my impressions of her, but in in more so real life, I think I gravitate more towards Kim for sure.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: That makes sense.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: No, I mean Kim's definitely, you know, she's like the icon.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she's iconic.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: She's literally iconic.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: I mean, I I can definitely see that.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: No, in terms of the from the acting perspective though, is it difficult to play one versus the other?
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, with the with the different personalities?
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: Because they have such different personalities, I feel like.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: They really do.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: It's easy to embody them only because I know them in and out, but it is difficult to, I guess you could say, shift from one character to the next.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: Because I'm in I'm in one character mode so much, and then we shift over to the next one, and it takes is kind of like a little bit of a learning curve every time I I get into the new character.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: I almost have to like read some lines or say some of their iconic lines right before I get into character.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: So shifting that is a little difficult, yeah.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: But then when I when I when I look at the edits and I play it back, I'm like, oh yeah, we nailed it.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: No, absolutely.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think that like one thing that really I found it to be so like hilarious, obviously, but also like very clever on your part was when you were doing Chloe's like nails, for example, and you used the post-its.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: I mean, I died laughing the first time I saw it.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: I was just like, this is brilliant.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't know what gave her the post-it idea, but it's absolutely brilliant.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: So I I guess a follow-up to that would be like, you know, what is your process of getting ready for the actual like, you know, like in terms of like the props you're gonna use or like what you're gonna do to really bring the characters to life?
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: Like, what is that process like for you?
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, what I do like a little debrief before every video.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: Like, I will tune into one of the episodes of the Kardashians, I'll watch an old episode, a new episode, and then I'll watch some highlights of them to see like if there's anything new that I catch of the character.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: So it really is a process trying to understand their mannerisms and and specifically their cadence with the way that they speak, because they all speak really differently.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: So it's really just kind of almost being obsessed with their character on on reality TV, and then just embody that.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: So that would be probably the process that I do every time.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it makes sense.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: And I think, you know, like another thing is like I I've noticed that every good actor, like you guys, you know, you have a part of your personality as well, right?
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: And all of your work.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: It's a part of it shines through as well.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: So do you feel like that?
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: I mean, do you feel that sometimes it's Yuri also, you know, kind of in there and in in subtle ways?
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: I mean, absolutely.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: I think that I over-dramatize obviously the characters, and that's a little bit of me and my quirkiness and my goofiness.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: And there are some things that I will embody in the character that that the actual the actual person doesn't do this in real life, but Yuri in the character, everyone knows and loves.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: Kind of like the post-it notes, you know, like everyone knows Chloe has long nails, but Yuri as Chloe, the character, she has the post-its, you know, and she and they do fall off, and she has the crazy hair and the crazy wig.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: So those are little glimpses of Yuri.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I've I've definitely I was like, I mean, I've watched almost every video, right?
- 9:24SPEAKER_01: And every uh every TikTok that you've made.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: And I've you know, because it's just I mean, for everyone listening, if you haven't seen it yet, I mean, it's addictive.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: Like it's literally like rediscovering keeping up with the Kardashians.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: So, you know, it's very cool.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: And you're and the way that you, I think, deliver every single character or every single personality is just so I don't know, it just it hits home, you know, in a very relative way.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: Like we I feel like I know you, you know, just by like watching the skits.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: So that's why I asked that is like because it, you know, it shows that it's it's your work, like you've put yourself also into this.
- 9:59SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and it is me.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: And I it I do I like when I get to see glimpses of me, you know, come out as well.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: Because that's those are the characters that they love.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: Right, exactly.
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: Now, I I would ask, you know, because I I know you write these the skits are amazing for every video.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: And I'm just curious, like, how long does that take?
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: And if there's ever a point where you hit like kind of like writer's block or something, I mean, do you ask yourself, like, what would Kim Kardashian do in this situation?
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: Or how does that whole creative process work for you for writing out the skits and and making them, you know, the way they are?
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: Every day I ask, like, what would Kim do?
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: Or like, how can we make this a reality TV moment?
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: You know, just over-dramatizing, like mundane conversations.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: It's it's easy for me to be in, I would say that it's really easy for me to be inspired by any everyday, you know, kind of moment to over-dramatize it and then all of a sudden it becomes a skit.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: But when it comes down to the writing process, I do face writer's block.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: And when I do face it, I don't, I don't create.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: I've created probably my worst work while I was just trying to push out content and it didn't feel natural.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: So the important thing is to just never take it so seriously, because that's I think that's when most of my writer's block comes on.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: But a lot of the times it could take about a day or two to write an entire script.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: And then what I do is my process is I like to sleep on it because I then it just feels rushed.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: And then the next the next day, you know, with a fresh set of eyes, I look at the script again and we can change things.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: And then on the day that I film it, sometimes I go also off script and improvise, and then it just turns out to be funnier.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: So that entire process, like in itself, probably happens with every single video.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: But I would just say, like, I hate writer's block, it really sucks, but it just reminds me that I need to remember why I do this and remember that it's fun.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: And remember that, you know, this is something that you really like.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: So like just don't force it, you know.
- 12:04SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: No, that makes so much sense.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: And it it comes through, you know, it really comes through.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: And you're like, yeah, I mean, it's it's not like forced or fake or anything.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: Like it's like a really genuine, like great comedy skit.
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: You know, that's how I see it.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: Like I grew up loving, you know, I think a lot of us did, you know, great comedy, whether it's on TV, whether it's stand-up, whatever.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: And I think uh comedians have that, you know, where it's almost like half impromptu and half like, you know, just and it's that natural, like that organic way of delivering, you know, the jokes that yeah, that really make it stick.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: And you just I feel like you've mastered that.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: It's so it's so cool.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: So thank you so much, yeah.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I love that.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: And you know, I actually want to ask you because this is I mentioned you uh Courtney's my favorite, right?
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: And I and the reason for that I have to share with you is I grew up watching Daria.
- 12:51SPEAKER_01: I don't know if you watched Daria on on Cartoon Network or wherever it was, you know, it was a a show that used to play back in the early 2000s.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: And I used to really relate.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: Have you?
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's it's a it's a really like dry humor, but like very sarcastic, very like monotone humor.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: And I, whatever I, you know, Courtney for me is like Daria mixed with her, you know, Courtney's own personality because it's just such a unique way, right?
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: Of just being and like the her personality.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: And so I've my question is like, has that ever been like challenging for you?
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: Like really nailing that dry humor?
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: I mean, it doesn't look like it's a challenge.
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: It you do it so effortlessly, but has that ever been like you know a thing where you've had to work on it more to me?
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: I would say to me, no, only because dry humor is what resonates with me, in my opinion.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: I have to look up that Dario because I'm oh you gotta watch it.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: I gotta watch it because I'm a huge fan of really dry humor.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: And that's I think that's the humor that I gravitate more towards, and that's what comes the most natural.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you, I mean, I'm sure you've seen The Office.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: I love The Office.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: That's the that show alone is the reason that I learned that's how I learned that I love dry humor and that the office is dry humor.
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: Just like naturally being, it's just so funny.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: Like no one's trying too hard, like it's not forced.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: They're just like living life, and they're just like, you know, dramatic about the smallest things.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: So I think I think that humor probably sits the best with me, and I receive it very well.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: So I think naturally it just the way I impersonate when I do my impressions, like it just comes out that way.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: But I've loved The Office, I watch every episode, like it's the same as the Kardashian.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: So I think it probably was definitely comes natural.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: So no, it's I wouldn't ever say I found it difficult.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:39SPEAKER_01: No, it I mean you do it beautifully.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: So I I can I, you know, it it doesn't surprise me that you didn't find it difficult because I I know what you mean with the office, and I think a lot of it is also like, and again, this is like just good comedy where I feel like when people just like pause and make a funny face or something, you know, like half the time that's the most hilarious part of the skit.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: And I I've noticed that a lot in your, you know, your work is that there's like looks and like little like pauses and stuff, and that really brings everything together.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: It's just very well executed.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: So that's like I just had to know that.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and it's also the you know, studying the framing of the production.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: So when yeah with post-production with The Office and reality TV shows, a lot of those frames come out as well.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: And you know, when you're watching these TV shows or these reality TV shows, you see that like some moments weren't clipped from that angle or like this is a different angle, or someone's speaking, and you can tell that that event hadn't happened yet.
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: It's studying the framing of it too.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: And I think what I think what people really find it really funny is that it really embodies the you know, the image of a reality TV show of like the pauses and the looks and and all and the the way the angles are and the framing of people like so I think I think that too, studying that.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's all it's in it's all an entire process.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: No, I can definitely I I can only imagine, you know.
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: I I just you know, I think so much goes into that's why I'm asking so many questions because I always, whenever I'm watching, you know, the the videos, I'm always like, I wonder how long it took her to really get this like perfect because it just comes off so you know, just it look you make it look easy, is what I'm trying to say.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: You know, and I know a lot goes behind it.
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: So but I want to ask you, Yuri, you know, I I think it's safe to say that you're quickly becoming an international sensation in the realm of comedy, especially as a you know, female like actress and a comic, you know.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: I'm curious, how does that work with your day-to-day life?
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: You know, I like I know that a lot of things happened in a very quick amount of time, right?
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: You know, and taking off.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: So how has that impacted you?
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, just your day-to-day life?
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: I know you're a mom and and you have a family, and so how's that been?
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's been it's been a an entire juggling act, you know.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: But I I actually read that in a Dr.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: Seuss book saying that life is just all a balancing act, and that's very true.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: So in the in the time that I that I grew my following, I was a new mom as well.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: So it was really hard trying to navigate that.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: But I think I always just remembered my priorities, and you know, being a mom comes first for me.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: Now it just becomes easier as I do more because my son's in school now, so I'm able to create full time.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: And my boyfriend also helps, you know, with our son.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: So we we split him, you know.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: I have him in the morning, he'll have him in the afternoon and the evening.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: So then we'd like to swap his nighttime routine.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: It's all about being on a schedule, honestly, and making sure you stick to a schedule, but also knowing that it's okay if I don't put this video out today because my son is sick.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: So all last week, my son was sick with a bug.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: We had to, you know, reschedule a lot of things.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: And though, you know, sometimes it's a bummer because I want to be present for the following, you know, that we created.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: You know, it's important to also show up for your priorities and stuff like that.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: So it's really all just a balancing act.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: And I don't even know how I do it.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: A lot of people are like my family is like, how do you do it?
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: How do you know?
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: Like, I really don't know.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: I just try to do what I can.
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: It's I just I look at my tasks as like a brick of ice, and I'm just chipping away at it however I can.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: Whatever gets done will get done.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: And whatever does it will get done tomorrow.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I love that though.
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: I love that mindset.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: It's kind of like take it as it comes, you know?
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: And I think that that's so important these days, especially to put that message out there because I think a lot of people are, you know, they're kind of like going through it.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: You know, it's a hard time right now, and especially when you have kids, it just gets so much more busy, you know, and just less time overall.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I know I look at these creators and I'm like, you're putting out six videos a day.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: How do you do it?
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah, how in the world do you have so much time to do what you do?
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: But then I realize, oh, it's because I'm a mom, you know.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm a mom first.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I also try not to compare myself.
- 19:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, of course.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: And and you know, being a mom is your number one job.
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: And and you know, I know that for women, it's always like this, you know, this multi-tiered, you know, thing that you go through, I think, with success.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: And no one we don't acknowledge that enough, I feel like, you know, because as we women have a lot of other stressors on us at all times.
- 19:21SPEAKER_01: And I think when you are able to be so successful, create such a, you know, such a movement, you know, in your industry, in your niche, like that's a huge testament to not only your your talent and your hard work, but also like your ability to multitask, you know.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: And I just feel like women need to be congratulated more on that level, you know.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, definitely.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: I I believe so too.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of pressure that's put on just women, you know, because of, I guess, traditional ways, but now women are more, you know, we want to be empowering women, and now women are doing a lot more, but still held to the traditional expectations, which really sucks as women because we have to we have to, you know, do what everyone thinks that women should do traditionally, but then we also want to branch out and and succeed and accomplish things as well.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 20:13SPEAKER_01: And also, yeah, I mean, I just want to mention for everyone listening, I mean, you haven't just, you know, like gained your following based on your your comedy, but you've also created a brand for yourself, right?
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: I mean, your your merch is amazing, by the way.
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: I'm a huge fan of your your merch.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: It's so cute.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: When I saw Mia, I was like, listen, this word is iconic.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: It literally so many emotions.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: No, seriously.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: And that's really I mean, that's really Yuri putting a spin on everything that she does.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: That's really like Yuri's spin on it, Yuri's take on it.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: So I I know, I I think it's great, and people love it too.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: You know, everybody knows who they're talking about, what they say.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: The amount of people people will tell me, like, oh my gosh, me and my friend, we go back and forth saying, yeah, all day.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: Like, we're in the office saying, Yeah, we're in the office doing our post-it notes.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: Like, and that's just I always love to hear that.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: I say it.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: You got me on it now.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: I mean, I say it, I say it to my residents, yeah.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: It just we'll come back to that.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know, and everyone knows what it means.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: It's like, yeah, like, yeah, I don't care.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't know, it's a pain.
- 21:17SPEAKER_01: I love it, it's brilliant.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: I love it so much.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: And I, you know, I think that's that's another part where I've just been so impressed by what you've built because, you know, like I said, you know, you have such immense talent and you're doing such great work with your comedy, but then also building that personal brand is tough, you know.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: And I think a lot of times I see again, you know, women, we have a hustle in us.
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: And I think sometimes building that personal brand can be really tough.
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: You know, it can be hard to transition from like I guess from one side of the business to another where you're now okay, like here's me, you know, here's my side of it, and my personality is coming in.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: And and so it's just I I just love what you're doing, and I just really, really.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Enjoy everything about it.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: So I think you're pretty much nailing it.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: I really appreciate it.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: And I appreciate everyone that that has ever engaged with my content, has ever had to had said nice things, have ever shared my videos, anybody, you know, we're all in this together.
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: We've all created this.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: Now I want to ask you though, because I know that, you know, as much as we love the Kardashian skits that you do, you also have some other amazing skits on your social media.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: I know the one, the few that you did about the kids that like they'll say they take what their parents say and they say it in a whole different way.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: Like those have just been like making me just die laughing.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: And so I want to talk a little bit more about your other work.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: If you could share some more, like what are some things that have been inspiring you to, you know, make other types of, you know, parodies and whatnot.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: Well, as a mom and as a friend, you know, in general, like in life, this these are just things.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: It's my everyday life.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: Like the car sick.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: I'm the car sick friend.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: Like that's who I am.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: I'm the overly obsessive friend.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: So these skits that I do, they they really are me, just like in a more dramatic way.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: But that's what I that's what I mean by like just being inspired by any little thing.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: And I think I don't know how I got that.
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: I don't know where it came from.
- 23:17SPEAKER_00: I don't know who in my family has that, but I was blessed with that.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: And I think that really helps.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: And also because I'm a mom, I see a lot of mom content as well.
- 23:27SPEAKER_00: And uh, you know, I also have mom friends, and it was really funny.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: That idea actually came from my sister who told me a story because her son is now 16, and she told me that when he went to school, he would tell his teacher that his mom drinks and drives.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: And so the teacher had to have like a conversation with my sister.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: So that really that's what had inspired me, you know, and it's those everyday conversations that you have.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: So it's always having that like inspiration opportunity open.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: You know, a lot of a lot of times I think creators will like block moments of like, okay, this is the time I create and this is the time I live life.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: And I just, you know, kind of push it all together because it is me and it is my life.
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I think those the inspiration comes from who I really am and the life that I actually live.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: But I think they're so funny too, you know.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: Obviously, some are more dramatic than others, but I think that's my spin on it is the the dramatization of it all.
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: Right, exactly.
- 24:28SPEAKER_01: I mean, it feels like that too, sometimes in our own heads.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: Like Yeah, yeah, right.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: Everything seems so dramatic, you know.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: So yeah, very resonated with people.
- 24:38SPEAKER_00: I didn't know it was gonna be that relatable.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: I was like, oh my gosh, I didn't know so many parents went through this.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: I feel so bad.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: Like these kids are are torturing us.
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: Literally, it actually reminds me a little bit of North as well.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: Like the the few things I've seen of North with Kim's three.
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: Just literally, like I love her, and I love how Kim handles her too.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: You know, it's just like North, just not today, you know, like not today.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but it's it's really it is her patience.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I gotta know though, you know, because you have amazing skin, by the way.
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: I don't know if anyone's told you recently, but you have phenomenal skin, and I gotta know what skincare products are you using because all of our listeners we know we love skincare here.
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: So I I gotta pick your brain a little bit about your favorites in whether it's beauty or skincare, if you could share some with us.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: Yes, I have a lot of skincare favorites, and I would love to go back and forth with you since I know you're the expert.
- 25:29SPEAKER_00: Have you heard of Dime Beauty?
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: Dime, yeah.
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: I have.
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: What is your what is your thoughts on Dime Beauty?
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: I I don't know of any like standout products that I use on the daily, but I mean I'd love for you to tell me.
- 25:40SPEAKER_01: Any recommendations?
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: So I love Dime Beauty.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: I started using Dime Beauty products back in 2022, and I really do feel like it helped elevate my skincare routine.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: So it was an entire like five-step process.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: I love the products, but I felt like I needed more of like a glow.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: So I think that's when I started developing a lot of, you know, I would say techniques and routines and the desire to want to have like, you know, really nice skin.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: Also because I'm 32 years old and I'm getting old.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: But so what I have found to be tried and true to my skin is drunk elephant products.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: I love the drunk elephant gentle jelly cleanser.
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: It's nice.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: I've had like three bottles already.
- 26:25SPEAKER_00: The first one was gifted to me by Drunk Elephant, and then I was like, I need to buy some more.
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: So definitely drunk elephant, and then after I do my cleanser, I do a toner, and I use I have been using the Neutrogena salicylic acid toner.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: And people make fun of me because people are like, oh my god, that was my toner back in 2011.
- 26:45SPEAKER_00: Hey, if it's if it works, it really helped with my acne.
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: And I really think that like I really think that your skin is like your skin is an organ that will memorize and and adapt to whatever you feed it.
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: So if it works for me and I've been using it for 10 years, unfortunately, if I switch a product, it might be a little misleading if the product works for my skin or not, because my skin is so used to this teller that I've been using for the last 10 years, you know.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: So it's like other products generally don't work, but part, I think part of it is my fault, right?
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: Because I've been using this product for so long.
- 27:19SPEAKER_00: I got my skin used to it.
- 27:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, your skin is like addicted.
- 27:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: Unfortunately, like I love the product and I do think it works, but I think it was the cause of my hyperpigmentation around like my like my dark areas on my face.
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: So I've been I've been trying to help those dark, like the dark spots on my skin with typology.
- 27:40SPEAKER_00: Typology is also a clean brand.
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: They've sent me like this even complexion serum, and I really do believe that it works.
- 27:47SPEAKER_00: So sometimes I will go back and forth with those.
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: So I'll use that in the morning, but then I use my tried and true toner at night.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and then I do the Charlotte Tilbury glow toner, it has peptides in it.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: I love, I love the glow toner, and then I top everything off with a moisturizer.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: So in the morning, I'll do the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Primer SPF.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: My skin glows.
- 28:11SPEAKER_01: It's iconic.
- 28:12SPEAKER_01: That is iconic.
- 28:13SPEAKER_01: It's an iconic moisture.
- 28:14SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 28:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: I put it under, I put it under every single like like makeup primer, like a matte primer, and it doesn't bleed through.
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: Like my my makeup lays so nice.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: And then, but I don't use it in the evening because it's like a I think it's a daytime primer because it date's because of SPF and stuff.
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: So at night, I'll use the drunk elephant, like it's a drunk elephant peptide cream.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: It's like a moisturizer.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, I know protein or something.
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: It's like proteiny.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: Yes, I love that.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, that has changed my skin.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: I only do it at night because I have my other routine in the morning.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: So, yes, my skin protein is a very thought out, very calculated on my end.
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: It shows though.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: Your skin is always glowing, it's always glowing.
- 29:01SPEAKER_01: Every time I see you on camera, it's like phenomenal.
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: So it's like I love whatever she's doing, it's working.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: So thank you.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I really try.
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: I try to try new products, you know, but it's a learning curve because my skin, you know, is so used to what I use.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: And I'm I'm such a creature of habit, you know, and I'm like, if it works, I don't want to, you know, break it or whatever.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: But yeah, those those are mine.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: What do you think about those products?
- 29:24SPEAKER_01: Oh, those are solid, solid products.
- 29:26SPEAKER_01: Like, I think that, you know, especially even with the Neutrogena, I don't think, you know, funny story.
- 29:31SPEAKER_01: When I was like, you know, we all went through our acne journey as teenagers, right?
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: And like there was a brand that broke me out so bad, like it literally traumatized me.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: Like I had acne, but then I used one brand and it made it worse.
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: But then I used Neutrogena, right?
- 29:45SPEAKER_01: And it literally was a saving grace for me.
- 29:47SPEAKER_01: I kid you not.
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: It was like their products are amazing, they actually do their homework, you know what I mean?
- 29:53SPEAKER_01: And they're science-backed.
- 29:54SPEAKER_01: So I I absolutely love Neutrogena.
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: I think like, you know, you can you just can't go wrong with them.
- 30:00SPEAKER_01: And then with Dime, I have to explore Dime more, actually.
- 30:02SPEAKER_01: Now that you've mentioned them, like I need to dive into their products more because I haven't had like too much of a exposure to it.
- 30:09SPEAKER_01: But yeah, huge fan of pretty much everything you listed.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I'm all about this is my Courtney coming out.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: Everything like clean ingredients, clean products, nothing, you know, nothing that I can't read on the label.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: I do want to ask you though about retinol.
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: What is I am I am?
- 30:25SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, you're gonna have a ten of worms with me.
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: I am very anti-retinol, but I swear when I will go, I will go on like TikTok live or Instagram live.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: And people will say, like, listen, I'm a dermatologist, I'm a license this, I've been doing facles for this.
- 30:44SPEAKER_00: And it's like, okay, I don't know if you actually are, but everyone is pro-retinol, and I just don't, I don't know if I can make that leap to retinol yet.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: I wish I could tell you I was in sync with, you know, my colleagues on this.
- 30:57SPEAKER_01: I am not.
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: I am very much in sync with what you said.
- 31:01SPEAKER_01: I don't believe in retinol.
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: If I'm gonna be very honest with you, I've actually said it on like, and maybe I think I got a little grief for it because it was like really heavy, you know, like these these terms that are really into like the allopathic medicine and they want to, you know, talk about retinol.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: And that's great, you know, that's great.
- 31:18SPEAKER_01: But like retinol, to me, I don't think you need it.
- 31:21SPEAKER_01: Like that's the honest truth.
- 31:23SPEAKER_01: I think there's way better stuff out there and ingredients out there that can achieve the results that you want without having to do it.
- 31:31SPEAKER_01: Because here's the the dirty truth about retinol, which I believe to be true after reading a lot of papers, okay, and it, and that is it damages your skin barrier, you know?
- 31:41SPEAKER_01: It really does.
- 31:42SPEAKER_01: It does.
- 31:43SPEAKER_01: I mean, I can't tell you how many people, and including myself, have told me, Ecta, when I use retinol, literally three days later, I have had the I have the worst acne I've ever had in my life.
- 31:53SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, Oh really?
- 31:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like they're literally like can't use it because after two days, they are they are breaking out in places they've never broken out before.
- 32:03SPEAKER_01: Like it's crazy to see here.
- 32:05SPEAKER_01: So many people have these ad, I wouldn't say an adverse reaction, but they have this, right?
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: That happens when they use retinol products, whether it's like tritino and prescription strength or retinol or retinol, it doesn't matter.
- 32:16SPEAKER_01: It just causes some sort of like, I don't know, does something to your skin barrier where it's not helping it initially?
- 32:24SPEAKER_01: It might be in the long term, which a lot of the studies say it does, but for me and from my personal experience and from those I've heard, it's just not it's not necessary, in my opinion.
- 32:35SPEAKER_01: Like I think there's just too much hype around it.
- 32:37SPEAKER_01: And yeah, we can kind of go without it.
- 32:39SPEAKER_01: You know, I mean, there's a lot of stuff you can do for your skin.
- 32:42SPEAKER_01: You don't have to put retinol on it.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: And I think a lot of people are gonna probably, you know, send me emails saying, why are you saying that?
- 32:49SPEAKER_01: But I, you know, I really believe in that.
- 32:52SPEAKER_01: I don't think you need it.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: I do too.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: I almost think it's this, I I borderline think it's like this whole like a conspiracy like push to add like anti-aging, anti-aging, but I almost think it it actually ages you to where you feel like you have to keep using it to exactly for this anti-aging to work.
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: And then it's just you put yourself in a cycle because like you already put it on your skin, you already gave it to your skin, your skin's already eaten it.
- 33:17SPEAKER_00: Like you said, it probably already broke the barrier.
- 33:19SPEAKER_00: So in due time, it might work it back up, but it's not your natural barrier, it's not what was initially there, it's what retinal created.
- 33:28SPEAKER_00: I don't know, that's just me and my opinion.
- 33:30SPEAKER_01: No, I mean, you are on, I mean, have you considered you know a career in medicine?
- 33:34SPEAKER_01: Because you're on the money with that.
- 33:36SPEAKER_01: Like, I I really do, I mean, I agree with everything that you're saying, and it's not a hypothesis.
- 33:41SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's a real thing.
- 33:42SPEAKER_01: Like at the end of the day, if something is making your skin worse and then better, like that's a con.
- 33:48SPEAKER_01: Like, that's sorry, but that's not why we buy skincare.
- 33:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, red flag, huge red flag.
- 33:55SPEAKER_01: Like, I just I that's what never settled with me about retinol was like, why do I need to destroy my skin to then heal it again?
- 34:03SPEAKER_01: Like, come on, you know, it just doesn't make sense.
- 34:06SPEAKER_00: So yeah, also that product, I don't know if it's hyaluronic acid or if it's retinol that you can't use while you're pregnant.
- 34:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 34:14SPEAKER_01: It's it's retinol, it's retinol because it's a vitamin.
- 34:16SPEAKER_00: That's why.
- 34:18SPEAKER_00: If I didn't use it when I'm pregnant, it I probably shouldn't be using it at all, right?
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: Like exactly.
- 34:23SPEAKER_00: You said it.
- 34:25SPEAKER_01: It's like alcohol.
- 34:26SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 34:26SPEAKER_01: You like what things to not eat or consume or put on your skin when you're pregnant.
- 34:31SPEAKER_01: Number one, retinol.
- 34:32SPEAKER_01: It's a vitamin A derivative, it's a tritogen.
- 34:34SPEAKER_01: And you know, vitamin A, you know what's crazy, Yuri?
- 34:37SPEAKER_01: I was on a podcast, I think it was another, it was a doctor I was interviewing, and I brought up this point, I was like, you know where we use vitamin A in leukemias, in blood cancer.
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:49SPEAKER_01: Like we use vitamin A as a treatment for severe blood cancers because what vitamin A does is it brings, it creates new cells, it tells cells to divide, right?
- 34:59SPEAKER_01: So, like we use it in people whose bone marrow is so compromised that they need new cells to develop there.
- 35:06SPEAKER_01: That's where vitamin A is used.
- 35:08SPEAKER_01: I know that it's been around in dermatology for forever, but that doesn't mean that it's, you know what I mean?
- 35:13SPEAKER_01: Like the holy grail thing.
- 35:15SPEAKER_01: Like, especially nowadays, we have so many options, we have so many avenues we can go down.
- 35:20SPEAKER_01: So when people beat that retinol drum, I'm just like, okay, I'm gonna look the other way now, like walking away.
- 35:26SPEAKER_00: You know, that's what it is.
- 35:28SPEAKER_00: It's it's people really driving it so much, it almost makes you think, like, am I crazy for not driving the same way?
- 35:36SPEAKER_00: Because it's like it almost makes you second guess your natural instincts because so many people are pro-retinal.
- 35:42SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 35:43SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 35:44SPEAKER_01: And that's like a major, like, you know, I I go into this so much on the show, it's just like this marketing, you know, it's just so much marketing.
- 35:51SPEAKER_01: And it's like, where's the genuine stuff?
- 35:54SPEAKER_01: You know, where is it?
- 35:55SPEAKER_01: And it's you can't find it.
- 35:57SPEAKER_01: Normal consumers nowadays are just so bombarded with so much marketing that it's become a real, like, in my opinion, a healthcare problem.
- 36:05SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, this is a whole tangent, but I can go on for days if anyone wants to, you know, come on my show and talk to me about it.
- 36:10SPEAKER_01: I can do that.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: But like, I really believe that marketing is skewing the way we're approaching healthcare.
- 36:16SPEAKER_01: And, you know, and I I that's retinol is an example of that, in my opinion.
- 36:20SPEAKER_01: But I think that, you know, with a lot of good skincare out there, there's a lot of options people can utilize.
- 36:25SPEAKER_01: And, you know, there's there's hope.
- 36:27SPEAKER_01: If you have acne or something that you're trying to target, you can do it without retinol.
- 36:31SPEAKER_01: It's absolutely not needed.
- 36:32SPEAKER_01: But I want to ask you, Yuri, I have a closing question for you.
- 36:35SPEAKER_01: And I really, really would love for you to give some advice to all of the budding entrepreneurs out there, all of the budding actors out there, anyone who's trying to build their own brand on social media, if there's any words of wisdom you can offer about, you know, how to get started and and have that confidence to kind of take it by the, take the bull by the horns and do it, you know?
- 36:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I would say just just like just make content, just create, just do it, because there's no difference between you and the person that's doing it except the fact that they're doing it.
- 37:10SPEAKER_00: So if you want to be a creator, if you want to be an entrepreneur, if you want to have a clothing line, a merch line, any kind of product line, you just gotta do it and you gotta take it day by day.
- 37:21SPEAKER_00: I got this from Chris Jenner and her LA event.
- 37:24SPEAKER_00: And she said, what makes them most successful is taking everything day by day.
- 37:29SPEAKER_00: Like, okay, you want Kylie, she wanted a lip kit.
- 37:32SPEAKER_00: Okay, what do we do first?
- 37:33SPEAKER_00: Take a task like one step at a time.
- 37:36SPEAKER_00: Don't look at it like full circle and don't compare yourself to other people.
- 37:40SPEAKER_00: I know that's probably one of the hardest things, and I'm I do that too.
- 37:44SPEAKER_00: Like I'm guilty of doing that as well.
- 37:46SPEAKER_00: But everyone's in their own lane, and you can't like I cannot tell you how many times I I like wanted to be such a large creator back when I was 20 years old, and it didn't happen until my 30s, and I'm so grateful because I probably would have been canceled about 15, 20 times if it happened when I was in my 20s.
- 38:05SPEAKER_00: So I would just say, like, just everything is in due time.
- 38:09SPEAKER_00: If you put in the work, it's going to happen because it's just it's inevitable that it's not like it's gonna happen, there's no other way to it.
- 38:19SPEAKER_00: So just like don't get discouraged, just do it, don't overthink it.
- 38:23SPEAKER_00: You know, there's so many resources out there.
- 38:26SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of there's a lot of advice that I can give.
- 38:28SPEAKER_00: But if I if it sounds so cliche, but like honestly, you guys, if I can do it, you have such a capacity to do it as well.
- 38:36SPEAKER_00: And luckily, in this day and age, there is there are things out there for every single person.
- 38:43SPEAKER_00: There's audiences for every single person, every single niche with everything that you want to do.
- 38:47SPEAKER_00: The people are out there just do it.
- 38:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I love that.
- 38:51SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: That's so that's so honest, that's so real, and I thank you for offering that advice.
- 38:56SPEAKER_01: And I hope anyone tuning in, if you are on the fence about you know starting your own thing and taking that dive, yeah, please take those words of wisdom to heart.
- 39:04SPEAKER_01: It's really, really important, I think, to trust yourself.
- 39:07SPEAKER_01: So thank you, Yuri, for that.
- 39:09SPEAKER_01: And also, by the way, I love Chris Jenner.
- 39:11SPEAKER_01: I think she's the like the biggest rock star.
- 39:14SPEAKER_01: Like, I just I can't imagine building what she's built.
- 39:16SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 39:17SPEAKER_01: So I love that you you mentioned her, where you got some advice from that angle because she's yeah, I have mad respect for Chris and what she's done.
- 39:25SPEAKER_00: So I'm yeah, yeah, no one has done it the way she's done it.
- 39:28SPEAKER_00: So I feel like people need to give her a mic, like please microphone, give her, give her a podcast, give her a a TV show on her own masterclass because like she knows the recipe.
- 39:41SPEAKER_01: Literally, she really does.
- 39:43SPEAKER_01: And it's just anyways, it's it's such a treat.
- 39:46SPEAKER_01: It's such a treat watching your skits and and watching all of your amazing work.
- 39:50SPEAKER_01: You're you're really like, you know, it it brightens my day every time I watch any of your content and any of your you know, your work.
- 39:57SPEAKER_01: It so thank you so much for putting that out there.
- 40:00SPEAKER_01: You're making all of us laugh in a time where you know we're all going through a lot right now, you know.

- 40:13SPEAKER_01: So I can't thank you enough for doing what you do and for doing it so beautifully and for giving me the opportunity to interview you and chat with you.
- 40:20SPEAKER_01: It's been an honor.
- 40:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, thank you so much.
- 40:23SPEAKER_00: And I your your words are so sweet.
- 40:25SPEAKER_00: I really appreciate it.
- 40:26SPEAKER_00: You know, this is why we keep doing what we do.
- 40:28SPEAKER_00: And I I love to hear that from from you and from people.
