- 0:03Welcome back to the Ashby world. My name is Dan.

- 0:20Completely free. Guys, a lot of people I hear
- 0:23this whole time people say dude, the term Aspergers isn't a thing
- 0:27anymore. I'm like, look, but let's be
- 0:30frank, people want to know, does a term as if it just still
- 0:33exist? Well, yes, of course a term will
- 0:34always exist. If it's existed once, it always
- 0:36still exists. It's a word.
- 0:37You can't just just disappear a word by saying that's it, no
- 0:41more word anymore. OK, so before we get any
- 0:42further, just want to say thank you to today's video sponsor.
- 0:46Brilliant now. Brilliant is a non prescription
- 0:48homeopathic medication that I use specifically for ADHD, but
- 0:52you can use it mainly for things like anxiety and stress and
- 0:55reduced feelings of restlessness, irritability and
- 0:57impulsivity, which is also a really good bonus.
- 1:00Now the cool thing is that this actually helps increase focus
- 1:03and concentration, which I think is awesome and it's completely
- 1:05like there's no nasties in it. This is not addictive.
- 1:07It's super supernatural. So you can get your hands on
- 1:11this from the link in the description down below and I
- 1:13will give you a discount which you can use the code ASP15 to
- 1:17get 15% off your first purchase. If you are thinking about taking
- 1:21brilliant, consult your doctor first just to make sure that
- 1:23everything's kosher. OK, guys, let's get on with the.
- 1:26Video. But the most interesting thing
- 1:28about it it's that the term Asperger's isn't used in two of
- 1:33the main diagnostic protocols for diagnosing autism.
- 1:37It used to be used in the DSM and it used to be used in the
- 1:40IDCI think the other one was called.
- 1:42But both of those took them out one in 2013 and the other in
- 1:442019. But since then, what we've been
- 1:47left with is a bit of a muddle really, of everybody who was
- 1:51diagnosed with Aspergis still has that diagnosis and still
- 1:54refers to it as Aspergis syndrome.
- 1:57But anyone who is coming up now and be would be diagnosed with
- 1:59Aspergis and now being diagnosed with water and spectral
- 2:01disorder, which is the new term that they kind of pushed
- 2:04together for water infection disorder.
- 2:05Now the reason they did it was no other reason than to help
- 2:09people who had the term Aspergis diagnosed gain access to support
- 2:13and help. Where it was criteria is for
- 2:16people who needed the term autism to be on their diagnostic
- 2:18criteria. Now like I said, it doesn't mean
- 2:20that anybody who is being diagnosed with Aspergers is no
- 2:23longer valid. They're still valid.
- 2:25They still use that term. There's a big who are within the
- 2:27community. I did a big video on this and
- 2:29I'll try and link it down below or you can just go back to my
- 2:31channel and check for the Aspergers series.
- 2:33And there was a big Hoover about it, People saying people are
- 2:36getting on each other's nerves and kind of getting a bit, I
- 2:39don't know, not uptight, but kind of really defensive and
- 2:42very stern and militant about the term.
- 2:43Asperge is in the use of it and the reasons why you shouldn't
- 2:46use it. But to answer the question, yes,
- 2:48Asperge is still a term, but also.
- 2:50Less people. Are being diagnosed with that
- 2:51term now it's normally now just it's normally now just water and
- 2:55special disorder and I hope that clears that.
- 2:57If you guys want to share this video because you thought you
- 2:59had good information, please do that and also give this video
- 3:01what you like. Leave a comment if you have one,
- 3:03I'll see you next time. Peace.
