EP062 Why Baptist? Two Offices - Part 8
This episode of The Immutable Word explains the Baptist doctrine of the two offices—pastor (elder/bishop) and deacon—and argues these are the only biblical offices for a New Testament local church. It outlines the roles and qualifications of pastors and deacons, why the apostolic office ceased, and why multi-tiered hierarchies like the papacy are unbiblical. The episode emphasizes how this simple structure preserves local church autonomy, the priesthood of the believer, and the separation of church and state.
