- 0:20Speaker 1: day we did to give us a day. I don't

- 1:13Speaker 1: so excited, so excited. I mean, who wouldn't be excited
- 1:26Speaker 1: to bring the Lombardi Trophy back home. Andy Reid holding
- 1:30Speaker 1: that trophy high above his head on the tarmac yesterday.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Travis Kelsey went up, We're done. They'll take it nap.
- 1:38Speaker 1: We're gonna have a parade tomorrow. They are back in
- 1:41Speaker 1: Casey and they'll be on floats, joined beverages, adult or otherwise,
- 1:48Speaker 1: and we'll be showing you that live tomorrow one pm
- 1:51Speaker 1: Eastern time, a Wednesday parade cover the Naked Open right
- 1:54Speaker 1: here at NFL Network in the bytime. This is Tuesday show.
- 1:58Speaker 1: This is NFL now. That is Brian Boldinger. I'm Andrew Siciliano. Earlier,
- 2:02Speaker 1: we had Shane stike In introduced as the head coach
- 2:06Speaker 1: of the Indianapolis Coach which leaves one team looking for
- 2:10Speaker 1: a head coach, and it looks as if a guy
- 2:12Speaker 1: that Styken knows he's gonna get that job. Ian Arizona
- 2:16Speaker 1: pichon the Sea of the Eagles and our breaking news
- 2:21Speaker 1: on NFL Network, Zian Rappaport is telling us that former
- 2:24Speaker 1: Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon is the new head coach
- 2:28Speaker 1: of the Arizona Cardinals. So for the first time since
- 2:33Speaker 1: nineteen four, it looks as if a Super Bowl team
- 2:37Speaker 1: will lose both coordinators to NFL jobs with promotions, you know.
- 2:43Speaker 1: For the Patriots lost both coordinators to head coaching job,
- 2:46Speaker 1: Charlie Weiss went to Notre Dame. This would be as well.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Welcome in Ian and Mike both coordinators to NFL head
- 2:54Speaker 1: coaching jobs. Pretty impressive for Howie Roseman and Nick Serrianti
- 2:58Speaker 1: tell us about this Gannon thing. And Jonathan Gannon was
- 3:02Speaker 1: the the coach that the Arizona Cardinals were waiting on
- 3:05Speaker 1: for weeks and weeks wanted to get to a chance
- 3:08Speaker 1: to talk to him before they made any head coaching higher.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Despite the fact that they did two second interviews last
- 3:13Speaker 1: week nothing was finalized. They wanted to talk to him,
- 3:16Speaker 1: and there's a very good reason. He's been a strong candidate,
- 3:19Speaker 1: I think for some time here. They interviewed him yesterday,
- 3:21Speaker 1: had him stay the night. He has been meeting as
- 3:24Speaker 1: we speak with owner Michael Bidwill. His flight to Philadelphia
- 3:28Speaker 1: has not yet left. He's gonna go home get his family.
- 3:31Speaker 1: That thought was to take part in the parade. We'll
- 3:33Speaker 1: see if all that happens now, because he is expected
- 3:35Speaker 1: to be the new head coach for the Arizona Cardinals.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Deal is not done, but it is expected to get done.
- 3:42Speaker 1: I know there's some some finer details and some important
- 3:44Speaker 1: things that Ganton In specifically was going over with Michael
- 3:47Speaker 1: bid Will, but the expectations he will end up as
- 3:50Speaker 1: the Arizona Cardinals head coaching right. The Eagles lose both coordinators,
- 3:55Speaker 1: which you know, for a team that has been really,
- 3:57Speaker 1: really good, is a tough blow, but I imagine they
- 3:59Speaker 1: have a strong enough program to rebound anyway. When he
- 4:02Speaker 1: arrived in Philadelphia shortly there after they've been an O
- 4:05Speaker 1: t A or training camp practice where he was holding
- 4:07Speaker 1: a press conference with the media, and the Eagles General
- 4:10Speaker 1: manager Howie Roseman was walking by and I saw him
- 4:13Speaker 1: and he pointed to him. He said, see that guy,
- 4:16Speaker 1: he's a stud. That was before last season, his first
- 4:20Speaker 1: one as a defensive coordinator, hadn't called a play yet
- 4:22Speaker 1: for the Philadelphia Eagles, but they knew the clock was
- 4:25Speaker 1: ticking before someone would hire him as a as a
- 4:28Speaker 1: head coach. They thought maybe that was going to happen
- 4:30Speaker 1: last year when he went deep into the process with
- 4:32Speaker 1: the Houston Texans. They were fortunate in their minds to
- 4:35Speaker 1: get him back for another year. Despite what the fan base,
- 4:38Speaker 1: I mean, the fan base down there. I listen, I
- 4:42Speaker 1: grew up there. I love Eagles fans. I love the passion.
- 4:45Speaker 1: They've been brutal. I didn't understand some of their criticism
- 4:49Speaker 1: this year of Johnathan and his team. You got a
- 4:51Speaker 1: blitz more, they said, they almost set the SEC records,
- 4:55Speaker 1: set the sack record. He didn't have the blitz more
- 4:58Speaker 1: And Jonathan Cannon's philosophy was not the blitz more. If
- 5:00Speaker 1: that's where your strength of your defense is, so I
- 5:02Speaker 1: thought he did a fantastic job. Listen, help me tell you.
- 5:05Speaker 1: The entire defense could have done better in the second
- 5:07Speaker 1: half of the Super Bowl, but he was an excellent
- 5:10Speaker 1: defensive coordinator in The Eagles are bummed that he is
- 5:13Speaker 1: leaving now heading out to Arizona as soon as this
- 5:15Speaker 1: deal is completed to be the new head coach of
- 5:17Speaker 1: the Arizona Cardinals and really formulating a coaching staff really
- 5:22Speaker 1: late in the process, Shane Steken and Jonathan Gannon really
- 5:24Speaker 1: needed to put some guys together on their staff, and
- 5:27Speaker 1: those guys were sitting there for a couple of weeks
- 5:29Speaker 1: here like yeah, can we can we get an answer
- 5:31Speaker 1: because like we've got other offers elsewhere. Now they're gonna
- 5:35Speaker 1: join Jonathan Gannon eventually when he puts his coaching staff together. Mike,
- 5:38Speaker 1: you went to the psyche of Eagle fans. I mean,
- 5:41Speaker 1: that's a whole another show, another show I made it. Yeah.
- 5:46Speaker 1: He you know, he's been in the league fifteen years.
- 5:48Speaker 1: You know, he had good defenses in Indianapolis, good defenses
- 5:51Speaker 1: in Philadelphia. Um leads the league and sacks all those
- 5:54Speaker 1: things are good. I remember talking to him this year,
- 5:56Speaker 1: Mike at trainee camp. He was telling me that they
- 5:59Speaker 1: play something in the defensive room, okay, called effort roulette.
- 6:04Speaker 1: So he picks a play air from a play and
- 6:06Speaker 1: his job is to stand up in front of the
- 6:08Speaker 1: room and grade the other ten players on the play
- 6:11Speaker 1: for effort. And so it begins with effort for Jonathan
- 6:15Speaker 1: getting to the football. Good things happen when you get
- 6:18Speaker 1: to the ball. Those are some of the principles that
- 6:20Speaker 1: he's going to bring to Arizona. Everybody preaches it, everybody
- 6:24Speaker 1: teaches it a little bit different, uh, you know. But
- 6:26Speaker 1: the Eagles, the way they took the ball away the
- 6:29Speaker 1: last two years, the way they got to the quarterback,
- 6:31Speaker 1: those are principles because of effort and a couple of
- 6:36Speaker 1: other items that they're gonna have to work on as
- 6:40Speaker 1: far as personnel, I think going forward. So Jonathan Gannon
- 6:43Speaker 1: takes over team with a question a quarterback at least
- 6:45Speaker 1: early in the season thought as Kyler Murray will not
- 6:49Speaker 1: be back from his major knee injury is a c
- 6:52Speaker 1: L injury late in the year to start the season,
- 6:54Speaker 1: so the Cardinals had that to figure out. Mardy austin
- 6:56Speaker 1: Ford is the new general manager. Certainly there are questions
- 6:59Speaker 1: to be answered all right, it's a long offseason. It's
- 7:03Speaker 1: only Dane number two. I mentioned and stike In the
- 7:05Speaker 1: Eagles losing both coordinators. He and he was introduced earlier
- 7:09Speaker 1: today in Indianapolis with Chris Ballard and Jim Rcy found
- 7:12Speaker 1: it interesting Ursay said that we wanted stik In because
- 7:15Speaker 1: we have to develop a young quarterback. Um then he
- 7:19Speaker 1: kind of name checked Bryce Young. You could almost see
- 7:23Speaker 1: the thought bubble above Chris Ballard's head as he projects
- 7:27Speaker 1: to April and the fourth overall pick. Yeah, a lot
- 7:32Speaker 1: of talking about quarterbacks in the opening press conference for
- 7:34Speaker 1: Shane Stake, which makes a lot of sense. His work
- 7:36Speaker 1: at the quarterback position has been really good. Has taken
- 7:39Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts from a second rounder who I know a
- 7:42Speaker 1: lot of people, not just fans, but a lot of
- 7:43Speaker 1: evaluators in the NFL really had some doubts about how
- 7:47Speaker 1: high his ceiling was gonna be. Could he be a
- 7:49Speaker 1: franchise quarterback? Uh stike In, you know, essentially took him
- 7:53Speaker 1: to being exactly that. And they are going to need
- 7:56Speaker 1: a quarterback obviously Matt Ryan not gonna be their quarterback
- 7:59Speaker 1: next year. Do they draft one or was Jim Rcy
- 8:01Speaker 1: trying to get everyone to trade in front of him,
- 8:04Speaker 1: to get everyone to think they were gonna draft one.
- 8:06Speaker 1: The games have begun, but either way they're going to
- 8:09Speaker 1: need one. Shane Styke in one of the best young
- 8:11Speaker 1: coaches developed in the quarterback along with his other assets
- 8:15Speaker 1: including leadership, helping with the culture, the way he employs
- 8:18Speaker 1: players to play at their absolute highest. A lot to
- 8:21Speaker 1: like about this coach for the Colts. Yeah, I'm gonna
- 8:24Speaker 1: take this Eagle's focus now because in one day, as
- 8:27Speaker 1: we've been talking about for the last couple of days,
- 8:29Speaker 1: we expected it had happened, they lost both of their coordinators.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Now what do they do? Brian Johnson potentially could move
- 8:35Speaker 1: up from quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator to replace Stike
- 8:38Speaker 1: in uh, don't forget about Kevin Petulo, the passing game coordinator,
- 8:42Speaker 1: who has uh a huge hand uh in what the
- 8:45Speaker 1: Eagles are doing both on game day and during the week. Defensively,
- 8:50Speaker 1: they could open up things a little bit to take
- 8:51Speaker 1: a look at who might be available out there, though
- 8:54Speaker 1: they do have some coaches on their coaching staff they
- 8:57Speaker 1: feel highly about, so UH. Like I talked about with
- 9:00Speaker 1: Jonathan Gannon and Shane Stike and having to put their
- 9:02Speaker 1: coaching staffs together at this point, this late in the game.
- 9:05Speaker 1: The Eagles are kind of sort of in that same
- 9:08Speaker 1: boat because they lost both of these guys here within
- 9:10Speaker 1: two days of playing in the Super Bowl. I always say, Mike,
- 9:14Speaker 1: I think in a lot of cases, it's more difficult
- 9:17Speaker 1: to replace good coaches than it is good players. And
- 9:21Speaker 1: I think that's the void right now for Nick Serriani
- 9:23Speaker 1: in the Eagles. I mean, everybody loves Brian Johnson in Philadelphia.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Kevin Petulah has been around the league. I remember when
- 9:29Speaker 1: he was with the Jets with Fitzpatrick one year and
- 9:33Speaker 1: they put up ten wins and he did a good
- 9:35Speaker 1: job at the quarterback position, so they got to fill
- 9:37Speaker 1: those voids. I just looked at Shane Steken, though, uh,
- 9:41Speaker 1: you know, as a new head coach, you know when
- 9:43Speaker 1: you talk about quarterbacks, I mean he's been around, Philip
- 9:45Speaker 1: River has been around, Justin Herbert has been around, Jalen Hurts.
- 9:48Speaker 1: He knows what the leadership position and the leadership qualities
- 9:53Speaker 1: look like. From those three players, they all did it
- 9:55Speaker 1: a little bit different, but it does start with their
- 9:58Speaker 1: ability to go out there every day and work on
- 10:01Speaker 1: their craft and so I think that there is a
- 10:04Speaker 1: huge physicist on work ethic being in the building, first
- 10:08Speaker 1: one in, last one out, all those things, because all
- 10:10Speaker 1: those players did that while they was their coach. So
- 10:14Speaker 1: I think that he has an idea of what he's
- 10:17Speaker 1: looking for and what it's supposed to look like. And again,
- 10:19Speaker 1: plenty of Super Bowl teams after a place both coordinators
- 10:22Speaker 1: the sixteen Falcons, Kyle Shanahan went to the Niners. We
- 10:25Speaker 1: knew that before he ever coached. The day of the game,
- 10:27Speaker 1: that day that Richard Smith took the fall for the
- 10:30Speaker 1: three he was fired. But the Niners rather or rather
- 10:33Speaker 1: the Eagles, or the first team since the nine Niners
- 10:36Speaker 1: to have both coordinators offensive and defensive get promotions to
- 10:41Speaker 1: NFL head coaching jobs. So it had been nearly thirty
- 10:46Speaker 1: years coming up next, isn't too early to look ahead
- 10:50Speaker 1: to the four Hall of Fame class though it isn't
- 10:54Speaker 1: We're gonna do that. Our voter, Jim Trotter right around
- 10:57Speaker 1: the corner with that, you're watching NFL? Now, how cool
- 11:17Speaker 1: is that sky More first career touchdown is in the
- 11:22Speaker 1: Super Bowl and your family is there to see at
- 11:25Speaker 1: the wider sier of the Kansas City Chiefs Joints is
- 11:27Speaker 1: live now on NFL. Now you get emotional by chance
- 11:31Speaker 1: watching your family Sky get emotional? Yeah, for sure, man,
- 11:36Speaker 1: as that video is priceless. Man, you waited until the
- 11:41Speaker 1: biggest game of your career, Sky to score for the
- 11:45Speaker 1: very first time in an NFL uniform. How bad was
- 11:49Speaker 1: that wait? And how good was to get it? How?
- 11:51Speaker 1: How good was it to get it into Super Bowl? Uh?
- 11:56Speaker 1: The way it was worthy? I say the way it
- 11:58Speaker 1: was definitely worthy, you know, for for to be on
- 12:00Speaker 1: that that stage at that time. Man, I wouldn't trade
- 12:04Speaker 1: it for nothing. As a kid growing up in Pittsburgh,
- 12:07Speaker 1: did you dream about this moment? Was it as good
- 12:09Speaker 1: as your dream? It was better than the dream. It
- 12:13Speaker 1: was better than the dreams, you know, So it was
- 12:16Speaker 1: because it's still it's still don't feel real. It kind
- 12:18Speaker 1: of don't feel really, you know, just being able to
- 12:20Speaker 1: get in the end zone first of all, just being
- 12:23Speaker 1: able to get in the end them and then the
- 12:24Speaker 1: way in the timing that it happened, it was just crazy.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I want to set this play up because a couple
- 12:29Speaker 1: of minutes earlier, they had run almost the identical concept
- 12:34Speaker 1: Sky to the other side with Kid Arias Tony. He
- 12:38Speaker 1: walked in easy, went motion, pivoted, came back out the ball,
- 12:41Speaker 1: call the touchdown. When you heard the play call and
- 12:45Speaker 1: you guys just merrited to the left, did you know
- 12:48Speaker 1: you were going to score? Yeah? I knew it. As
- 12:51Speaker 1: soon as soon as I see Kat scored, I was like, Okay,
- 12:56Speaker 1: I know, I gotta play like that, and if we
- 12:58Speaker 1: get back into this and we get back into this
- 13:00Speaker 1: area of the field, you're probably gonna call my play.
- 13:03Speaker 1: And that's exactly what they did. So it was it was,
- 13:07Speaker 1: it was already written. I already knew. I already knew
- 13:09Speaker 1: I was getting in the end Zoe. As soon as
- 13:10Speaker 1: as soon as Pat called out the coverage and I
- 13:13Speaker 1: went in motion, I knew what it was. A lot
- 13:16Speaker 1: of people are going back to week four Sky to
- 13:19Speaker 1: a play the Jaguars ran, all right, they're facing the Eagles,
- 13:24Speaker 1: and Trevor Lawrence ran something similar. Doug Peterson obviously it
- 13:27Speaker 1: used to be Andy Reids o c dialed up a
- 13:30Speaker 1: play where Jamal ag Knew came in motion to the right.
- 13:34Speaker 1: He had the easy walking touchdown. Look the same. Did
- 13:37Speaker 1: you guys see that play? During film study leading up
- 13:41Speaker 1: to the game. Yeah, I remember when we were when
- 13:45Speaker 1: we were going through our installed period um because Reading
- 13:50Speaker 1: referenced that play to me. He would be like, yo,
- 13:53Speaker 1: like go back and look at this play. I want
- 13:55Speaker 1: you to keep your footing. It should be used to me,
- 13:58Speaker 1: it should be it should be a good play for
- 13:59Speaker 1: this look. So I definitely I know the exact play
- 14:02Speaker 1: you're talking about, and you know, I was aware of
- 14:05Speaker 1: how successful they were with that, so I definitely wanted
- 14:07Speaker 1: to get out there and you know, getting the end
- 14:09Speaker 1: zone for myself. Did Coach Reid say if Doug called
- 14:12Speaker 1: him to give him the idea? Now, I don't know
- 14:16Speaker 1: about all that. I don't know whose idea was, but
- 14:19Speaker 1: you know, I know you got me in the end
- 14:20Speaker 1: zone for the first time. And one al right before
- 14:23Speaker 1: you got the end zone. You're in the locker room
- 14:25Speaker 1: at halftime when when they were working on kind of
- 14:27Speaker 1: magic on Pat's ankle story, is that Coach Read told
- 14:31Speaker 1: you you cannot you but everybody you cannot go out
- 14:36Speaker 1: to see Rihanna? Is that true? I don't remember him
- 14:41Speaker 1: saying that, but that was just that was just something
- 14:44Speaker 1: that was understood from the jump. You know, Coach Read,
- 14:47Speaker 1: because Read don't really, guys say too much. You know people,
- 14:49Speaker 1: people know what time he's on from just the looks
- 14:52Speaker 1: that he gives for those who don't know. Evan McPherson
- 14:54Speaker 1: last year, the Bengal's kicker at so far Um, snuck
- 14:57Speaker 1: out from the Cincinnati locker room to watch Dre and
- 15:00Speaker 1: M and M and that show here in l A
- 15:02Speaker 1: and and lunch and grief. For that, he ended up
- 15:04Speaker 1: losing game, not that it was his fault anyway. Sky
- 15:07Speaker 1: Parade coverage tomorrow, NFL Network, one o'clock Eastern time. Have
- 15:12Speaker 1: you thought of what you're wearing for the parade? That's crazy.
- 15:18Speaker 1: I just talk to Jody Forston about what he's wearing
- 15:21Speaker 1: to the trade. But I'm gonna I'm gonna keep it.
- 15:24Speaker 1: I'm gonna keep it cool. I know, I know it
- 15:26Speaker 1: might it might get a little wet on the bus.
- 15:29Speaker 1: So I'm gonna definitely bring my my ski, my ski
- 15:32Speaker 1: goggles there. That's that's the that's the mandatory. That's the
- 15:36Speaker 1: mandatory thing I'm gonna bring. All right. Finally, last thing
- 15:39Speaker 1: who loses it on the podium, Like, who's the guy
- 15:42Speaker 1: that we have to bleep tomorrow on the podium? You
- 15:47Speaker 1: already know it's trad exactly. You're gonna have that, You're
- 15:51Speaker 1: gonna have to be Yeah, we're ready for that. We
- 15:54Speaker 1: assume he's going to be the one. Uh, don't be
- 15:56Speaker 1: that guy, Sky Okay, just get up there, be classy.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Congratulations though on the ring that you're getting in. Congratulations
- 16:03Speaker 1: and finally getting that first touch down. Yes, I appreciate that.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Thank you, skuy More. Everybody, all right, you watch the
- 16:12Speaker 1: NFL now on NFL Network. You know by now that
- 16:15Speaker 1: the Chiefs did not allow a single sack against the
- 16:19Speaker 1: team that led the NFL insecs, against a team that
- 16:24Speaker 1: was on historical footing right up there with Bears when
- 16:28Speaker 1: it came to sacks. The Chiefs handled business on the
- 16:34Speaker 1: offensive line. And a man writing about it right now,
- 16:37Speaker 1: because Jim Trotter was with us Live, you can read
- 16:39Speaker 1: his article at NFL dot com. I want to get
- 16:41Speaker 1: to your last line here at Jim, to do with
- 16:43Speaker 1: justice because you named him, Orlando Brown, Joe Cooney, Creed,
- 16:47Speaker 1: Humphrey Tray Smith, Andrew Wiley. They showed they do not
- 16:51Speaker 1: have to take second billing to anyone. Absolutely Andrew. Look,
- 16:57Speaker 1: we marvel at what Patrick Mahomes does and what what
- 17:00Speaker 1: other quarterbacks around the league do. But the reality is
- 17:03Speaker 1: they can't do what they do unless they have protection
- 17:06Speaker 1: up front. And we have to go back to the
- 17:08Speaker 1: Super Bowl two years ago when Patrick Mahomes had the
- 17:11Speaker 1: worst game of his career. He was held without an
- 17:13Speaker 1: offensive touchdown for the first time as a starter. They
- 17:16Speaker 1: were three or thirteen on third down, he was sacked
- 17:19Speaker 1: three times, He threw two interceptions, They were all for
- 17:23Speaker 1: three in the red zone. And what did they do
- 17:24Speaker 1: after that? General manager Bred Beach and Andy Reid said,
- 17:27Speaker 1: we have to address this offensive line. They had four
- 17:30Speaker 1: different starters in that line this past weekend, and they
- 17:35Speaker 1: did in that Super Bowl two years ago. And these
- 17:37Speaker 1: guys deserve credit for what went on when Patrick Mahomes
- 17:41Speaker 1: injured reinjured that ankle laid in the first half. What
- 17:44Speaker 1: the line that said to themselves in that locker room
- 17:47Speaker 1: was nobody touches him after this. And what did we see?
- 17:50Speaker 1: Patrick Holmes had one incompletion in the second half, and
- 17:53Speaker 1: that was the ball he threw away in the end zone,
- 17:55Speaker 1: and offensively, they ran the heck out of the ball
- 17:58Speaker 1: for a hundred and nineteen yards. So from that standpoint,
- 18:01Speaker 1: they had heard all week about how good the Philly
- 18:03Speaker 1: defensive front was. They knew that Philly had four players
- 18:06Speaker 1: who had at least ten sacks, the first time in
- 18:08Speaker 1: league history that's happened. And what they said is, we
- 18:11Speaker 1: felt like we weren't getting the respect that we deserve.
- 18:14Speaker 1: And so when you combine their ability with Patrick Mahomes
- 18:18Speaker 1: his ability, and then you put in Andy Reid and
- 18:21Speaker 1: his play design, um, that's a tough that's a tough
- 18:25Speaker 1: combination for anyone to beat. And I would say this
- 18:27Speaker 1: to you about Andy Reid in my opinion, Andrew, this
- 18:30Speaker 1: guy is one of the all time great coaches. If
- 18:32Speaker 1: he never coached another game, to me, he's a Hall
- 18:35Speaker 1: of Famer, easy. And when you look at what he
- 18:37Speaker 1: did in Philly with a consistent see there in terms
- 18:40Speaker 1: of success. Then to come to Kansas City and have
- 18:43Speaker 1: the same type of success, if not, I'm sorry, more
- 18:46Speaker 1: success actually um for me, he's just phenomenal in terms
- 18:50Speaker 1: of his creativity, in terms of his ability to connect
- 18:53Speaker 1: with his players and lead. And so from that standpoint,
- 18:56Speaker 1: there were so many guys throughout the course of this
- 18:59Speaker 1: season that deserve credit, but I wanted to give some
- 19:01Speaker 1: credit to those big, big uglies up front because we
- 19:04Speaker 1: all give credit to the quarterbacks and the coaches, etcetera. Baldi.
- 19:08Speaker 1: You know, Jim, they rebuilt that offense line in a
- 19:11Speaker 1: matter of months after that Super Bowl lost to Tampa.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I mean Creed Humphrey second round pick, Tray Smith sixth
- 19:17Speaker 1: round pick, you know, Joe Tooney in free agency and
- 19:20Speaker 1: trade for Zeus And basically those guys have lined up
- 19:22Speaker 1: and played almost every single snap over the last two years.
- 19:25Speaker 1: And they heard all the noise all week long. I
- 19:28Speaker 1: mean they you go back and you watch that hundred
- 19:31Speaker 1: nineteen yards in the second half, and they earned those
- 19:34Speaker 1: hundred nineteen yards. They moved the Eagles off the line
- 19:36Speaker 1: of scrimmage, They won the trench warfare, and I had
- 19:39Speaker 1: an Eagle player yesterday text me Jim and said, it
- 19:43Speaker 1: felt like an Atlanta Falcon collapse. And in some ways
- 19:46Speaker 1: up ten totally in control of that game. They they
- 19:51Speaker 1: felt like they had thirty minutes left to go complete
- 19:53Speaker 1: the deal. They couldn't do it because the defense couldn't
- 19:56Speaker 1: get off the field. But Holmes took control their offensive
- 19:59Speaker 1: line that you just mentioned, all those guys, Uh, they
- 20:02Speaker 1: took control and they protected Mahomes. They ran the ball
- 20:05Speaker 1: really effectively in a variety of ways. It was a
- 20:08Speaker 1: great comeback by the Chiefs, and they took it to
- 20:11Speaker 1: the Eagles and they beat them in the trenches. And
- 20:13Speaker 1: they did so even with Jalen Hurts playing as good
- 20:18Speaker 1: a game as one could play in the Super And
- 20:21Speaker 1: not only that, Andrew, not only did Jalen play great,
- 20:24Speaker 1: but Nick Sirianni called a great game in that first half,
- 20:27Speaker 1: going forward on four towns and being aggressive and staying aggressive,
- 20:31Speaker 1: uh you know, and taking the deep shots down the
- 20:33Speaker 1: field and connecting all those to touchdown to a j
- 20:36Speaker 1: and a couple of drops that you know happened along
- 20:38Speaker 1: the way. But um, you know, they played to win
- 20:41Speaker 1: the game. They just didn't finish it, and they just
- 20:43Speaker 1: didn't get that chance. And they would have been great
- 20:45Speaker 1: to see them get the chance. But a hold as
- 20:46Speaker 1: a hold, we could have that conversation for the next
- 20:48Speaker 1: six months. However, thank you, Jim, and thank you Baldy
- 20:52Speaker 1: for how long will we have the Aaron Rodgers conversation.
- 20:56Speaker 1: We had thought that Rogers would enter his four day
- 21:00Speaker 1: darkness retreat the day after the Super Bowl, alas that
- 21:05Speaker 1: it's not gonna happen. He now says until later in
- 21:08Speaker 1: the week, so keep on waiting. I have a lot
- 21:13Speaker 1: of love and empathy for for all people. I'm fascinated
- 21:17Speaker 1: by humanity and curious about a lot of individuals and
- 21:22Speaker 1: what they're into and how they see the world. Um.
- 21:24Speaker 1: There was a time where I was judgmental of plan
- 21:29Speaker 1: medicine and things like a darkness retreat or therapy or
- 21:32Speaker 1: all these different things that kind of the conditioning that
- 21:35Speaker 1: I grew up with made me see the world. So
- 21:39Speaker 1: totally understand Um, any of those thoughts. Um, But ultimately
- 21:44Speaker 1: those are projections and those have way more to do
- 21:47Speaker 1: with the people making those statements than than me. So
- 21:50Speaker 1: it doesn't stick to me, It doesn't bother me. Um,
- 21:53Speaker 1: you know, just gives me more love and I think
- 21:55Speaker 1: empathy for those people. I think we all could use
- 21:58Speaker 1: a dose of turn our phone off once in a
- 22:00Speaker 1: while and unplugging from society. I'll be honest with the
- 22:04Speaker 1: states of else. The more I think about and the
- 22:06Speaker 1: more I read about it, Wall Street Journel did a
- 22:08Speaker 1: big piece on what these darkness retreats are like. I
- 22:11Speaker 1: wouldn't mind taking a three day nap, right But at
- 22:14Speaker 1: the same time, the Green Bay packers are waiting for
- 22:18Speaker 1: some kind of answer, but they hold some cards in
- 22:22Speaker 1: this as well. They do. I just turned my phone off.
- 22:26Speaker 1: I'm not sure to hang out with you guys on
- 22:30Speaker 1: the NFL now. It's pretty amazing. Um, you know, I
- 22:34Speaker 1: got yours off. I see Andrew a good job. Um. Hey,
- 22:37Speaker 1: I was in Green Bay week eighteen, right they lose
- 22:39Speaker 1: to the Detroit Lions, and I remember talking to a
- 22:42Speaker 1: high ranking official the next day and I was like,
- 22:44Speaker 1: this is deja vu? Huh, and that officials started laughing
- 22:48Speaker 1: and said yep. And I don't know if we're going
- 22:51Speaker 1: to be able to get in contact with Aaron because
- 22:53Speaker 1: he leaves the country. So they want a decision. They
- 22:56Speaker 1: wanted a decision weeks ago, and here we are again
- 22:58Speaker 1: with this um sort of off season. What's become deja
- 23:01Speaker 1: vu in many respects. So he'll go on his isolation
- 23:04Speaker 1: or treat and contemplate what he needs to and you know,
- 23:08Speaker 1: I guess the question is is how much does he
- 23:10Speaker 1: want to stay in Green Bay and how much do
- 23:12Speaker 1: they want him back? And it's going to be the
- 23:14Speaker 1: conversation until he makes a decision. It was interesting though,
- 23:17Speaker 1: how he talked about this season I just need to
- 23:19Speaker 1: be efficient. And obviously they gave themselves a chance after
- 23:22Speaker 1: a really bad start to make the playoffs, Baldi and Andrew.
- 23:26Speaker 1: But is Aaron Rodgers where is he in his career
- 23:29Speaker 1: after back to back m v P seasons? Uh? And
- 23:33Speaker 1: then he goes into last year and becomes an efficient quarterback?
- 23:37Speaker 1: Was he? Or is he just becoming the game manager
- 23:40Speaker 1: type quarterback unlike the two m d p P seasons
- 23:43Speaker 1: that I just mentioned. Uh, So here we are, I
- 23:46Speaker 1: guess at this stage, you guys, and uh, we'll see.
- 23:49Speaker 1: I don't know what else to say. Well, Stacy, we're
- 23:51Speaker 1: not quite forty eight hours old from the super Bowl,
- 23:55Speaker 1: so it's time to start talking quarterback. But for the
- 23:56Speaker 1: teams that didn't make the playoffs, their business looking towards
- 24:00Speaker 1: next year, no doubt started a month. No, They're all
- 24:03Speaker 1: looking for somebody that can at the level that we
- 24:06Speaker 1: just saw Mahomes and Jalen Hurts play in this past
- 24:09Speaker 1: super Bowl, which was almost flawless between the two of them,
- 24:13Speaker 1: and so everybody's looking to see if they can nail
- 24:16Speaker 1: down that position as quickly as they can. Aaron Rodgers
- 24:19Speaker 1: is going to be the forefront of all this we
- 24:21Speaker 1: mentioned Derek Carr earlier. I mean the charterback carousel was
- 24:24Speaker 1: starting right away. Now we gotta allow Aaron his private
- 24:28Speaker 1: time here, his his uh he enter the cave. We
- 24:31Speaker 1: got to allow him to do that, to see what
- 24:34Speaker 1: kind of ideas are coming to his mind. It might
- 24:37Speaker 1: be six more weeks the winter when it comes, it
- 24:39Speaker 1: could be uh poncitoni, phil, I think I said that right,
- 24:43Speaker 1: But it could be something like that. But I mean,
- 24:45Speaker 1: our off season is driven by quarterbacks. It was last
- 24:48Speaker 1: year all the way to the end. It's gonna be
- 24:50Speaker 1: this year. And so where Aaron Rodgers goes, if he stays,
- 24:53Speaker 1: if he goes where he goes, that kind of starts
- 24:56Speaker 1: the carousel spinning when he comes back from the darkness.
- 25:01Speaker 1: My old friend. Thank you, Stacy, thank you. Ball It
