- 0:08Speaker 3: The World's a Vegetal podcast Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:19Speaker 4: Last night, I was just a fan, and I think
- 0:21Speaker 4: it was just really cool. It just felt like the
- 0:23Speaker 4: ending that I really wanted for this.
- 0:25Speaker 5: I just need to know one question, and that's did
- 0:29Speaker 5: you and Tom.
- 0:30Speaker 6: Get a chance to help kiss again?
- 0:33Speaker 3: No more? Number twelve that's going to be retired and
- 0:35Speaker 3: they're going to have this statue.
- 0:36Speaker 6: And I'm definitely going to take a picture with it
- 0:38Speaker 6: or seventy.
- 0:40Speaker 3: So I'm going back to what you could possibly do
- 0:42Speaker 3: for Belichick. So what about if you do this out
- 0:44Speaker 3: on the practice field, but you break up the night
- 0:47Speaker 3: into segments, just like practices.
- 0:49Speaker 4: Think another like good touch of that would be at
- 0:51Speaker 4: random moments during that you have Aaron walk out and be.
- 0:54Speaker 7: Like, cameras off, everybody, no taping this segment.
- 0:57Speaker 6: That's our time.
- 0:57Speaker 7: They've got a ways to go, no question.
- 0:59Speaker 4: But you know, if your quarterback you just took third overall,
- 1:02Speaker 4: throw a touchdown to the receiver you took from the
- 1:04Speaker 4: second round, I'll take it.
- 1:06Speaker 6: I love the optimism because honestly, I felt the opposite.
- 1:09Speaker 7: I was like, can I know what every other player
- 1:11Speaker 7: on the podcast?
- 1:13Speaker 6: Can I just capture all sitting over there telling me
- 1:15Speaker 6: he has all six Super Bowl rings at home? Actually
- 1:18Speaker 6: only five.
- 1:19Speaker 2: I gotta watch, I gotta watch.
- 1:22Speaker 3: I can't thank you guys enough for what you do.
- 1:24Speaker 3: It really helps to bring the Patriots closer to US
- 1:26Speaker 3: fans in the UK.
- 1:28Speaker 6: That's great. How did seventeen seventy six go though?
- 1:33Speaker 3: Wow?
- 1:34Speaker 1: This is Patriot's Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website.

- 1:43Speaker 3: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 1:47Speaker 3: at Jillette Stadium, and here in our temporary studio. As
- 1:52Speaker 3: you can see, it looks a little different than where
- 1:54Speaker 3: we usually are. Our normal studio is under construction. We're
- 1:58Speaker 3: gonna have a brand new look for the twenty twenty
- 2:01Speaker 3: fourth season, so we're going to be out of commission
- 2:04Speaker 3: for a few weeks in our normal studio. So this
- 2:07Speaker 3: is where we're going to be. This is our temporary home.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Shout out to Dave Chase and Matt Morrell for making
- 2:13Speaker 3: this happen on fairly short notice. I I this looks
- 2:16Speaker 3: fine to me. Right, Well, it's not gonna look it
- 2:19Speaker 3: looks fine, it looks great.
- 2:21Speaker 6: Yeah, the different.
- 2:22Speaker 7: Logo on the table. We don't really do the hard work.
- 2:24Speaker 4: We just sit around and look at each other and
- 2:26Speaker 4: talk and like tables, sit talk.
- 2:28Speaker 8: We had to come fifteen minutes earlier.
- 2:30Speaker 7: Oh a, Mike check, Sorry, Paul, I'm the struggle is real.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I just want to check something. Dough. You didn't
- 2:37Speaker 3: hear me, right, No good, I just used my cough.
- 2:39Speaker 4: Well if you if you give me any gup today, Fred,
- 2:41Speaker 4: I'm going to talk back to You're going.
- 2:42Speaker 7: To talk about be able to talk about.
- 2:44Speaker 4: That's the backside, Sasson, Sasson, how dare you it's deuced?
- 2:48Speaker 3: It's Alex She's here because the Celtics green teamer number one,
- 2:52Speaker 3: so was some ulterior motive celebrates when there's something to
- 2:56Speaker 3: do with, you know, as she thinks her should be here. Evan, Paul,
- 3:02Speaker 3: myself and we're here for the next two hours as
- 3:04Speaker 3: we always are on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the off season,
- 3:08Speaker 3: talking Patriots, and of course we will give the Celtics
- 3:12Speaker 3: their flowers today a great win. It's always good to
- 3:16Speaker 3: have a champion in the city and we have one again.
- 3:19Speaker 3: It's the Celtics. Big win last night. Yep. I was
- 3:23Speaker 3: going to say, you know, good, big win for Boston
- 3:26Speaker 3: last night, the Red Sox.
- 3:28Speaker 6: Another win for the Socks.
- 3:31Speaker 3: It's a fun team. It's a fun team.
- 3:32Speaker 7: How many triples they have?
- 3:34Speaker 8: I have to stop making fun of them.
- 3:35Speaker 5: They did beat two teams with winning records back to
- 3:38Speaker 5: back first two series of the year.
- 3:40Speaker 6: I have to I have to sort of play back.
- 3:42Speaker 3: A little bit.
- 3:43Speaker 7: Need those tickets to keep falling, that's.
- 3:45Speaker 8: What But oh, I don't think you have to worry
- 3:47Speaker 8: about that.
- 3:47Speaker 3: But of course, all focus in Boston today is on
- 3:50Speaker 3: the Celtics getting the job done. Uh, their dominant team,
- 3:55Speaker 3: and they dominated getting ready for the parade for I
- 3:57Speaker 3: don't know what else you can ask them.
- 3:59Speaker 7: That that's good move on that.
- 4:00Speaker 6: I was gonna say, due, so I'll clear the floor.
- 4:02Speaker 6: We did it.
- 4:03Speaker 7: I mean, we did it.
- 4:04Speaker 4: I was I was going to do a whole bit
- 4:05Speaker 4: and wear some Red Sox, read some Celtic stuff.
- 4:08Speaker 7: I couldn't find it.
- 4:09Speaker 4: That would have been the funny find it, I know,
- 4:11Speaker 4: I couldn't find I couldn't find that old Larry Bird
- 4:13Speaker 4: Jersey I had, but yeah, it was good. I watched
- 4:15Speaker 4: the first half and I'm like, all right, they're up
- 4:17Speaker 4: twenty one. I don't need to stay up. But these
- 4:19Speaker 4: guys are these guys are exciting.
- 4:21Speaker 3: I think it should have been co m VP. By
- 4:22Speaker 3: the way, Tatum.
- 4:24Speaker 6: They have eleven voters, so.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Oh oh, so they couldn't have it.
- 4:27Speaker 5: But because Peter King didn't vote, what if all Peter
- 4:30Speaker 5: King voted, it would have been five and a half
- 4:31Speaker 5: and a half.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Yeah, what if all eleven agreed with me and they
- 4:34Speaker 3: all said CO m VP.
- 4:35Speaker 6: I get I don't I think you have to write
- 4:37Speaker 6: one name?
- 4:37Speaker 3: Oh really?
- 4:38Speaker 6: Yeah? They have eleven obviously on purpose so that it's
- 4:40Speaker 6: an odd number, so somebody has to win.
- 4:42Speaker 8: I thought Peter kingproof.
- 4:44Speaker 9: I think you kind of didn't really. I mean I
- 4:47Speaker 9: didn't have a clue who was going to be m
- 4:48Speaker 9: v P because I was leaning towards Holiday. But I
- 4:51Speaker 9: don't think you can give it to Hall.
- 4:52Speaker 6: No, yeah, going to be one of those too.
- 4:54Speaker 8: I thought it would be Tatum, but you know, I
- 4:57Speaker 8: don't have any.
- 4:57Speaker 3: I think Jalen was visibly shocked when he wanted like
- 5:03Speaker 3: to It was like he miss America. Patrick's I mean
- 5:07Speaker 3: he had that real, like, I can't believe that just happened. Yeah, yeah,
- 5:10Speaker 3: it was almost.
- 5:10Speaker 8: So much so that he dropped two f bombs.
- 5:12Speaker 10: Yeah, watching on the broadcast, I had no clue what
- 5:15Speaker 10: he was.
- 5:15Speaker 6: The first one, I was out, did he just swear?
- 5:18Speaker 5: And then the second one I was like, he definitely
- 5:20Speaker 5: just and then he actually said.
- 5:22Speaker 10: My stream, No, he's just cussing up a storm.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:25Speaker 6: See it wasn't my stream.
- 5:28Speaker 3: I ever came all but it was a great it was.
- 5:30Speaker 3: It was a great season, a great it was dominant.
- 5:34Speaker 3: Great playoff run for them. Were they sixteen and three
- 5:38Speaker 3: through the playoffs?
- 5:39Speaker 7: Well this is you. This is how you like it, Frederick.
- 5:42Speaker 7: You just want to win. You don't want any interests.
- 5:45Speaker 5: You just give me the championship, right, anti climatic, fred
- 5:48Speaker 5: kersh special Right, I want my team to dominate, you know,
- 5:51Speaker 5: and they did.
- 5:52Speaker 7: Yeah, Alix, where did you get this hat? I love
- 5:54Speaker 7: this hat? Like this just seems like it just speaks
- 5:56Speaker 7: like old school self.
- 5:57Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 5:58Speaker 7: Evan, Evan looks like he just like stopped by the
- 6:00Speaker 7: swat walked.
- 6:01Speaker 10: Evan looks like he was in the locker room last night.
- 6:04Speaker 3: He's just had monthly goggles.
- 6:06Speaker 9: This was any in October. It was like twenty five
- 6:09Speaker 9: bucks back in October. And then I tried to get
- 6:12Speaker 9: one for my friend for her birthday, which was yesterday.
- 6:14Speaker 9: She was a Celtics cheiler, so she had a cool day.
- 6:16Speaker 9: But I went to get it and it was like
- 6:17Speaker 9: sixty five dollars. They inflated the prices for.
- 6:23Speaker 10: Cor corduroy.
- 6:25Speaker 8: For those watching at home quarter old school, it's like
- 6:27Speaker 8: mid eighties.
- 6:30Speaker 7: If you had a little rope going across in front
- 6:32Speaker 7: of it, that would be But I know, but that
- 6:34Speaker 7: makes it so frat bro. I know too much.
- 6:36Speaker 4: I think it's perfect. It's perfect, looks good too. He
- 6:39Speaker 4: bought two hats, bought.
- 6:41Speaker 6: More than I spent a lot of money.
- 6:43Speaker 10: Car of the Pro Show. Yeah, did you get the
- 6:46Speaker 10: banner eighteen tattoo too?
- 6:48Speaker 3: No?
- 6:48Speaker 6: No, but I got more coming, don't worry. We had
- 6:51Speaker 6: to go to Fanatics in order some more. But I
- 6:54Speaker 6: feel like there's two different types of feelings after championship.
- 6:57Speaker 6: You either feel euphoria or relief, and for this one,
- 7:00Speaker 6: I definitely felt relief. I was in the relief category
- 7:03Speaker 6: last night because the Red Seas parted for them this
- 7:08Speaker 6: year to win the title, and they were clearly the
- 7:10Speaker 6: best team in the league, and if they didn't win
- 7:12Speaker 6: a championship this year, then they were probably never gonna
- 7:15Speaker 6: win a championship with this group, with the J's and
- 7:18Speaker 6: with this corpse. So to see them finish it off,
- 7:21Speaker 6: to see it's something different too, when you drafted those
- 7:25Speaker 6: two guys and they grew up in your system and
- 7:28Speaker 6: you grew up as Celtics, and to see those two
- 7:31Speaker 6: guys win it together was it was incredible. It was different.
- 7:37Speaker 3: It was a perfect example of good drafting and good
- 7:41Speaker 3: free agent maneuvering. I mean, bringing in Holiday was huge,
- 7:45Speaker 3: getting rid of Marcus Smart and perzingis for what he
- 7:49Speaker 3: added throughout the season.
- 7:51Speaker 9: And you know, like obviously you guys remember I was
- 7:53Speaker 9: a huge Marcus Smart girl. But yesterday when they started
- 7:56Speaker 9: that game, the threes just weren't following falling, and I
- 7:59Speaker 9: was like, this is every Celtics finals I've ever seen,
- 8:01Speaker 9: where they just throw three after three, they don't make them.
- 8:04Speaker 9: And Drew Holiday the whole first quarter until they turned
- 8:07Speaker 9: it on towards the end of the quarter, had like
- 8:09Speaker 9: the poise in the composure of someone who's been there before.
- 8:12Speaker 9: And you saw him just driving the hoop, pounding the
- 8:15Speaker 9: rim and kept them in that game. I think he
- 8:17Speaker 9: had like their first six, yeah, six plus points even
- 8:20Speaker 9: and him with that composure to just know to drive
- 8:23Speaker 9: to the hoop and get the easy buckets and take
- 8:26Speaker 9: what you can get really kept them in there that quarter.
- 8:28Speaker 10: And then they just started to pop.
- 8:30Speaker 3: So they started to pop. It wasn't the best played
- 8:32Speaker 3: game from either side. I mean, when the Celtics went cold,
- 8:36Speaker 3: so did Dallas. The difference was the Celtics started to
- 8:39Speaker 3: heat up in Dallas and never yet.
- 8:41Speaker 5: I thought that late stretch that Alex was talking about
- 8:43Speaker 5: in the first quarter, they've closed that I think with
- 8:45Speaker 5: a nine to zero run. I thought they would dominate
- 8:47Speaker 5: from that point through the second quarter, yep, and then
- 8:50Speaker 5: into the third and then they kind of looked.
- 8:51Speaker 8: Like they got tired. Yeah, but by that time, emotion
- 8:54Speaker 8: the game was old.
- 8:55Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Yeah, but they did they because I think at one
- 8:58Speaker 5: point they were like twelve or twenty three on threes, like,
- 9:01Speaker 5: so they just they caught fire.
- 9:02Speaker 6: And they hadn't really in the middle of the game.
- 9:04Speaker 6: They hadn't really had that point barrage game.
- 9:07Speaker 5: Your girl Doris Birth made that comment during the game. Yeah,
- 9:10Speaker 5: you've been waiting for this and here it is. In
- 9:12Speaker 5: the playoffs.
- 9:12Speaker 6: In the regular season, they've had some incredible you know,
- 9:15Speaker 6: they'll make twenty five threes in one game.
- 9:17Speaker 5: And she said eighteen different games they were over forty
- 9:20Speaker 5: percent of the team.
- 9:21Speaker 8: Yeah, and they what do you think, Mike.
- 9:23Speaker 7: Now, that's not about that's pretty good.
- 9:24Speaker 8: I mean, is that about what you had a calculator,
- 9:26Speaker 8: let's say.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Approximately, And I think the clear spark for the team
- 9:30Speaker 3: was Pritchard.
- 9:30Speaker 7: Yeah, and they have to when they were already. That
- 9:34Speaker 7: was pretty cool.
- 9:35Speaker 8: That was pretty good.
- 9:36Speaker 6: That was that was fun. He took up on twelve steps.
- 9:40Speaker 10: And you knew it was coming.
- 9:41Speaker 5: And you knew it was going in, like you could
- 9:43Speaker 5: see it halfway there, like that's tracking.
- 9:44Speaker 3: You can see somebody.
- 9:46Speaker 6: It was.
- 9:47Speaker 3: The arc was so high that on the replay you
- 9:49Speaker 3: lost the ball and then it comes back.
- 9:51Speaker 6: Down and then Tatum almost killed them.
- 9:54Speaker 5: Yeah, he ended up because he's so much bigger than
- 9:57Speaker 5: he hit him in the face the face.
- 10:00Speaker 4: It's just like, as as a resident Celtics fan, but
- 10:02Speaker 4: it felt just to me like they're not losing this
- 10:04Speaker 4: game tonight.
- 10:05Speaker 7: Like when you when you're hitting.
- 10:06Speaker 5: Shots like that like it's it's it's a nine run
- 10:08Speaker 5: in the first quarter. You know, my friends got mad
- 10:11Speaker 5: at me. I was like, that's game. You could see
- 10:13Speaker 5: it like that's they clicked. This is the you know,
- 10:16Speaker 5: and that's that's it.
- 10:17Speaker 10: They weren't players to like it was Horford, it was Derek.
- 10:20Speaker 7: White, it was by the way face, Oh my.
- 10:24Speaker 10: God, quote of a lifetime.
- 10:26Speaker 9: I would lose all Like the post game was a
- 10:28Speaker 9: little awkward because I think he was I think it
- 10:30Speaker 9: was perked up a little bit, so he was like
- 10:33Speaker 9: in another I think he was in another world and
- 10:36Speaker 9: rightfully so.
- 10:37Speaker 10: But just I would lose all my teeth for a championship.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Just but he really got his head.
- 10:44Speaker 9: I do the means god? Well, his face, like did
- 10:48Speaker 9: you see his face? Like how did he not break
- 10:51Speaker 9: his nose and not just break his.
- 10:53Speaker 7: Like shatter it right?
- 10:56Speaker 6: Getting smashed in the floor ThReD.
- 10:58Speaker 5: Do you remember.
- 10:58Speaker 7: That that remembers that.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Came back with big welt on the side of his head. Yeah.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Brian Morey texted me Luca sleeps with the fishes? Is
- 11:09Speaker 3: that that's what he he texts you don't like that?
- 11:13Speaker 3: That's from the Godfather.
- 11:15Speaker 7: The reason why I just stick to putting jackets on
- 11:17Speaker 7: people just.
- 11:19Speaker 8: Stick to ruining a perfect moment.
- 11:22Speaker 6: I actually thought that that Jayson Tatum had had a
- 11:25Speaker 6: real case for m v P. But the way that
- 11:28Speaker 6: that Jalen played defense on Luca ninety four feet, can
- 11:33Speaker 6: I just say Luca.
- 11:35Speaker 10: Was Jason Tatum's kryptnight he was blowing by I.
- 11:37Speaker 8: Have I have a nitpick on that.
- 11:40Speaker 5: I felt like every time Jalen Brown got in his shirt,
- 11:44Speaker 5: the possession either ended with Luca eventually getting fouled or
- 11:48Speaker 5: giving a layup to somebody else because he was so
- 11:51Speaker 5: overplaying the ball. I was like, I get it, You're
- 11:53Speaker 5: way more athletic than him. He can't blow by you,
- 11:55Speaker 5: and he couldn't. He could not get by him. Yeah, okay,
- 12:00Speaker 5: now there's going to be like three other guys open.
- 12:01Speaker 5: And he kept just throwing these little slip passes to
- 12:04Speaker 5: these guys who otherwise couldn't score if they were alone,
- 12:07Speaker 5: you know, in a Vegas brothel with a fistful of fifties.
- 12:10Speaker 6: I score. I just thought it set the tone for
- 12:13Speaker 6: them defensively in the series.
- 12:14Speaker 8: That just came to me joint practice.
- 12:18Speaker 6: And I would also say that Luca think he was
- 12:22Speaker 6: one for eight or one for nine from three in
- 12:24Speaker 6: the game.
- 12:24Speaker 8: Terrible.
- 12:25Speaker 6: And he was terrible on defense the entire series too.
- 12:27Speaker 6: And when you Jalen said it and he was miked up,
- 12:30Speaker 6: and he said it in one of the Mike Dub
- 12:32Speaker 6: segments that Luca is going to have to bring up
- 12:35Speaker 6: the ball to touch the ball, otherwise I'm going to
- 12:37Speaker 6: deny the ball the hole in the half court. And
- 12:40Speaker 6: so Luca had to work so hard just to get
- 12:43Speaker 6: the ball over half court into their side of the court.
- 12:47Speaker 6: That now, go play defense, Now go make thirty footers. Now,
- 12:50Speaker 6: you know, I didn't like the defense thing. I know
- 12:54Speaker 6: that got a lot of attention.
- 12:55Speaker 5: I didn't really feel like that was an issue, But
- 12:57Speaker 5: the offense thing was an issue.
- 12:59Speaker 8: Like I thought, making him bring the ball.
- 13:02Speaker 5: Up was a really huge adjustment that they made because
- 13:05Speaker 5: it didn't allow them to play fast the way they
- 13:07Speaker 5: did sort at the end of Game three and through
- 13:10Speaker 5: throughout Game four. Yeah, it was more of Kyrie sort
- 13:13Speaker 5: of pushing pace and they didn't allow that to happen.
- 13:15Speaker 5: And like you said, they bogged everything down and Luca
- 13:18Speaker 5: got a whole bunch of plastic yards.
- 13:21Speaker 6: Yeah, like he put up, he.
- 13:24Speaker 5: Had to have like close to twenty in the fourth
- 13:25Speaker 5: quarter that when the game was over, yeah, fifteen. Anyway,
- 13:29Speaker 5: he hit a couple of threes, you know, he went
- 13:31Speaker 5: like twenty one straight threes and he missed in that series,
- 13:34Speaker 5: you know, speaking.
- 13:34Speaker 8: That's ones a lot to miss.
- 13:37Speaker 3: I think Kyrie kind of came up small and that
- 13:39Speaker 3: he was.
- 13:39Speaker 8: He was terrible in all three busts Kyrie.
- 13:41Speaker 9: I saw the tweet Kyrie finally brought the championship, he promised.
- 13:45Speaker 6: I feel like that.
- 13:48Speaker 3: I do.
- 13:49Speaker 10: I was kind of a kyrielogist.
- 13:52Speaker 6: I don't mean to. I think the biggest thing with
- 13:55Speaker 6: Kyrie is that you don't often say that the crowd
- 13:59Speaker 6: is that much of a factor. And nowadays in sports
- 14:03Speaker 6: tip your cat Boston, like you got him and crawled
- 14:05Speaker 6: inside that dude's head. And they lost all three games here,
- 14:09Speaker 6: and he was a no show in all three games.
- 14:11Speaker 6: And if you're Kyrie, you have to admit that that
- 14:14Speaker 6: was because Boston was in your head.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Did you see what he did? You know, they were
- 14:18Speaker 3: taking him out of the game, and instead of like
- 14:21Speaker 3: you know, waiting till the end of the game to
- 14:22Speaker 3: do his hugs, he went on their bench and like
- 14:25Speaker 3: hied everybody.
- 14:26Speaker 8: I mean, I know there's a little performative nature to that.
- 14:29Speaker 5: I kind of liked it because you can't do it
- 14:31Speaker 5: at the end of the game, and he knows that
- 14:32Speaker 5: you can't. I know, but like, because he's one Champions,
- 14:35Speaker 5: why do you know what happened to that? Because he
- 14:37Speaker 5: wanted to be classic. That's why I would say it's performative,
- 14:40Speaker 5: because you have to make sure that everybody sees you
- 14:43Speaker 5: being classy.
- 14:43Speaker 8: I get that.
- 14:44Speaker 7: I'm saying Kyrie went to the self expansion, Yeah, gave them.
- 14:48Speaker 3: I thought it was a little perform.
- 14:49Speaker 6: It was definitely a little performative. But he also.
- 14:54Speaker 8: Okay, Tatum and.
- 14:56Speaker 9: Brown and Brown still about those teammates, Yeah, exactly, especially Tatum.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Maybe aside from Choose, he's not a bad guy.
- 15:05Speaker 6: I don't know. Yeah, no, I'm not going there.
- 15:09Speaker 8: But he still hasn't really apologized.
- 15:11Speaker 6: No, But I I did feel I feel like he
- 15:15Speaker 6: could not score. He was not Kyrie in Boston, and
- 15:19Speaker 6: that's a six or seven game series if he plays
- 15:21Speaker 6: like he did in Dallas for the entire series, and
- 15:23Speaker 6: he just didn't he didn't have it here. He couldn't
- 15:25Speaker 6: shoot here. In his head with the game, I was
- 15:29Speaker 6: that game too, you know, he's like egging on the crowd,
- 15:32Speaker 6: like telling him. I'm like, what do you like? You're
- 15:33Speaker 6: trying to embrace it. I get it, but it just
- 15:36Speaker 6: made it worse, like it.
- 15:41Speaker 10: A half day box.
- 15:41Speaker 7: Yeah, well I'm not going.
- 15:45Speaker 3: Is it Friday?
- 15:45Speaker 6: I asked?
- 15:47Speaker 9: I asked Richie interest from the players? See if any
- 15:50Speaker 9: of the players are going.
- 15:51Speaker 4: So that I would then be we'll cover it.
- 15:55Speaker 7: We'll go to cover it.
- 15:57Speaker 8: Well done? Now, so fred, I don't know.
- 15:59Speaker 5: I I think there's a lifestyle angle to be to
- 16:02Speaker 5: be had here.
- 16:03Speaker 8: That's well done? How impressed by that?
- 16:05Speaker 7: What day is this?
- 16:06Speaker 10: Just like the US Open last year?
- 16:07Speaker 6: Who anybody want to go to the Open Friday?
- 16:11Speaker 8: At eleven Friday?
- 16:13Speaker 6: It goes from obviously from the Garden to Hines Convention Center. Yeah,
- 16:18Speaker 6: past the Boston Common.
- 16:20Speaker 7: I'll be in Fret's territory.
- 16:22Speaker 5: But tell you, I can't imagine what would be better
- 16:24Speaker 5: to be at, you know, ninety eight degrees in the.
- 16:27Speaker 6: Middle of the city.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Unfortunately, they don't do what they used to do, which is,
- 16:32Speaker 3: you know, down Boyles the Street, you end up at
- 16:34Speaker 3: City Hall and then you have the big reception in
- 16:36Speaker 3: the plaza. They don't do that anymore. For summer reason,
- 16:39Speaker 3: we ruined it. Yeah, I don't know, eighteen soo many people.
- 16:43Speaker 6: I guess it just gets too rowdy.
- 16:45Speaker 4: Yeah, it must be crazy, the difference between the Patriots
- 16:47Speaker 4: who have fifty three players just to start versus like this,
- 16:51Speaker 4: which is right eleven just like yeah, like like eleven
- 16:55Speaker 4: eleven guys.
- 16:57Speaker 7: I guess how many guys play basketball?
- 16:59Speaker 3: Fifteen that's great stuff. So congratulations six of them even played.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Congratulations Celtics for Patriots. It's obviously a quiet time. We're
- 17:11Speaker 3: still basking in the glow of last Wednesday, the Brady Night.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Just incredible response from people. And we were talking as
- 17:21Speaker 3: a group this morning and I thought that the Patriots
- 17:24Speaker 3: did a I don't know if it was intentional, but
- 17:27Speaker 3: by not really saying what was going to happen that night,
- 17:30Speaker 3: I think it kept expectations kind of low, and then
- 17:33Speaker 3: when people either came and saw it live or watched
- 17:36Speaker 3: on on the stream, they were it was beyond their expectations.
- 17:40Speaker 3: So it was that surprise and delight type of reaction
- 17:43Speaker 3: because no one knew what was going to happen, and
- 17:45Speaker 3: you know, so the response I saw everybody was like, Wow,
- 17:48Speaker 3: this is a lot better than I thought it was
- 17:50Speaker 3: going to be.
- 17:50Speaker 8: And it was.
- 17:52Speaker 9: Did you guys hear a lot of people saying that,
- 17:54Speaker 9: like they thought Tom Brady was going to come out
- 17:56Speaker 9: of the smoke on stage and that we were just
- 17:57Speaker 9: playing jay Z over the over the loud speaker, and
- 18:00Speaker 9: then it was jay Z himself like people are blown away.
- 18:03Speaker 5: I didn't hear that, but I will say that it
- 18:07Speaker 5: was a rare one of the rare events where usually
- 18:10Speaker 5: you find at least a few people that have different opinions.
- 18:13Speaker 5: And I had a lot of people. Uh even had
- 18:16Speaker 5: a couple of people call me to ask me, you know,
- 18:18Speaker 5: what I thought and stuff like that. But I had
- 18:21Speaker 5: nobody that had anything really bad to say, not like
- 18:25Speaker 5: this Lester Holt from NBC. What did you think I
- 18:29Speaker 5: was talking about? Like season ticket holders and you know
- 18:31Speaker 5: people like that. I so obviously it's catering to them,
- 18:34Speaker 5: because if you're not if you're a season ticket holder
- 18:36Speaker 5: and you didn't really like anything that happened last year,
- 18:39Speaker 5: I think people were rooting for the.
- 18:40Speaker 3: People were waiting in the bushes to criticize this event,
- 18:43Speaker 3: and there was nothing to criticize. It was at first,
- 18:45Speaker 3: if you were a bill Bobo. Then you couldn't criticize it.
- 18:49Speaker 3: You know, he had one of the best moments of
- 18:51Speaker 3: the whole thing. If if you were if you didn't
- 18:55Speaker 3: like Brady, you had to respect at least, you know
- 18:57Speaker 3: how how that went and his speech, and I think
- 19:00Speaker 3: there was something for everyone. And then of course the
- 19:02Speaker 3: Moss moment like kind of stole the show for me.
- 19:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 19:05Speaker 4: You know, I talked to two different people over the
- 19:08Speaker 4: last like, you know, a few days of people who
- 19:09Speaker 4: didn't get tickets.
- 19:10Speaker 7: And you know, and almost one of them was like
- 19:12Speaker 7: I didn't.
- 19:13Speaker 4: Really hear much about it, and then right now every
- 19:16Speaker 4: they're they're kind of like, I guess I missed it.
- 19:18Speaker 10: I know, like I might.
- 19:20Speaker 9: I was getting so annoyed and I had to just
- 19:22Speaker 9: not answer people on Twitter because I try not to
- 19:25Speaker 9: do that. But people saying, like, why are you guys
- 19:27Speaker 9: having it on a weekday? No one's going to go.
- 19:29Speaker 9: The Celtics are playing, like, no one's going to go.
- 19:32Speaker 9: It's Tom effing Brady.
- 19:33Speaker 8: It was a misst like the Celtics thing hurt.
- 19:37Speaker 9: Yeah, but when we planned this in February, I don't
- 19:40Speaker 9: think we could anticipate the NBA Finals schedule.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I I you know that it would have been
- 19:45Speaker 3: nice to but six twelve you had to do it,
- 19:48Speaker 3: and like you said, it was planned a long time ago.
- 19:50Speaker 9: And also it was a cool element to have it
- 19:52Speaker 9: just end and people go out and the Celtics are
- 19:55Speaker 9: on and that's that was the competitive part of the game. Anyways,
- 19:58Speaker 9: Other than that, it was so so.
- 20:00Speaker 3: It was you know, I heard some people say, oh,
- 20:02Speaker 3: I wish it was on TV. I get that, but
- 20:07Speaker 3: if you want to watch it, it'll be up forever
- 20:09Speaker 3: on YouTube.
- 20:10Speaker 5: And Fred, can you do us all a favor, because
- 20:13Speaker 5: I think we've all been kind of dealing with those
- 20:16Speaker 5: kinds of questions and just explain why it wasn't on
- 20:18Speaker 5: TV that we couldn't.
- 20:20Speaker 3: Well, there were a couple factors. One, originally it was
- 20:23Speaker 3: going to be on Peacock, but you know, streaming, which
- 20:28Speaker 3: I guess you know technically is TV even though it's
- 20:30Speaker 3: just another streaming service. It just got too complicated with
- 20:34Speaker 3: all the rights fees from the music and everything like that.
- 20:37Speaker 3: But I got to be honest, part of it was
- 20:39Speaker 3: Brady's camp. They didn't want any monetization of the event,
- 20:44Speaker 3: you know, so if you put it on TV, whoever
- 20:49Speaker 3: is stationed, they're giving up three hours, they're gonna want commercials,
- 20:53Speaker 3: you know, And so that was the whole thing, And yes,
- 20:56Speaker 3: probably it could have been worked through, but it was like,
- 20:59Speaker 3: you know what, we got enough to worry about. Let's
- 21:02Speaker 3: let's just get this thing on patriotes dot Com and
- 21:04Speaker 3: YouTube and Patriots Social and you know, you know in
- 21:09Speaker 3: the live you know, the live audience, and just focus
- 21:11Speaker 3: on that and not worry about all that other stuff
- 21:14Speaker 3: because there was enough to work. We had to get
- 21:17Speaker 3: you know, rights from Jay Z and Kenny Chesney and
- 21:20Speaker 3: Bill Burr and you know even you know and youtubeou
- 21:24Speaker 3: Beautiful Day, and it's a lot and this organization honestly
- 21:28Speaker 3: hasn't never done that before. Like you know, we we
- 21:32Speaker 3: took on all of that. It wasn't like NBC came
- 21:34Speaker 3: in and produced it or the NFL like in a
- 21:37Speaker 3: game day. So there was a lot to do and
- 21:40Speaker 3: we just wanted to make sure that what we were
- 21:42Speaker 3: doing we hit a home run with. And yeah, it
- 21:45Speaker 3: could have been on TV, but it it would have been,
- 21:48Speaker 3: we'd still be working through rights and all that.
- 21:51Speaker 4: It's got to be the longest continuous stream that you
- 21:53Speaker 4: guys have ever done here I mean it, but what
- 21:55Speaker 4: it must have started at five thirty till ten thirty, yeah, right, like.
- 22:00Speaker 5: Yes, you know they're not done five hours probably, Yeah,
- 22:02Speaker 5: I didn't want to bring it up.
- 22:03Speaker 7: You guys always get PTSD every.
- 22:06Speaker 5: That was that wasn't just well thats act the same thing,
- 22:10Speaker 5: but it was kind of I think that I have.
- 22:12Speaker 3: To check with our webmaster, Chris Pherre. I think that
- 22:14Speaker 3: might have been one continuous stream.
- 22:17Speaker 5: Certainly the live portions, yeah, were all continuously streams. How
- 22:20Speaker 5: I know we replayed stuff, yeah, because we Wow, what
- 22:24Speaker 5: a little.
- 22:25Speaker 8: Peak behind the curtains. We were actually be on the
- 22:27Speaker 8: air for twenty four hours.
- 22:28Speaker 3: But like if you was, if you, if you it.
- 22:31Speaker 8: Wasn't really we weren't done at some point.
- 22:32Speaker 3: I'm talking about six a year that we lost to Philly.
- 22:35Speaker 3: We were in Minnesota and we did the not Done network.
- 22:38Speaker 3: It was the first twenty four hour network, you know,
- 22:42Speaker 3: during the week leading up to the Super Bowl, and
- 22:44Speaker 3: I think if you were on the stream, I don't
- 22:46Speaker 3: think you ever had to hop off. I don't think
- 22:47Speaker 3: it ever.
- 22:48Speaker 7: No, my mom said she watched the whole time. She
- 22:50Speaker 7: she couldn't believe it. She said she stayed for the
- 22:51Speaker 7: whole thing, pregame show, right through the whole thing.
- 22:53Speaker 3: So yeah, yeah, so that was I don't know, we
- 22:56Speaker 3: might have We should ask Guinness if we broke a record.
- 22:59Speaker 7: There, the world's longest live stream.
- 23:03Speaker 3: The only part that was bad about that was losing
- 23:06Speaker 3: that stupid game, Brady having over five hundred yards and
- 23:10Speaker 3: and and not winning that game.
- 23:12Speaker 5: Was just talking Celtics title, Brady Knights frans, like the
- 23:18Speaker 5: loss of Super Bowl fifty.
- 23:20Speaker 3: We brought up the not Done Network, so I had.
- 23:21Speaker 4: To That's one game I couldn't really tell you much about.
- 23:24Speaker 4: I think I kind of saw that one and forgot it.
- 23:27Speaker 8: Just big play after big play.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Philly Special, remember the Philly Special, But it was it
- 23:35Speaker 4: was just back.
- 23:36Speaker 8: And forth and James White running like just one.
- 23:40Speaker 4: There was one thir down and Jackson Bademosi right, couldn't
- 23:43Speaker 4: couldn't cover like little guy leaked out right, Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 23:46Speaker 4: I remember now.
- 23:48Speaker 6: In the game because Wayne Butler. Yeah, I feel like
- 23:51Speaker 6: with the Brady thing. And then I was actually, unfortunately
- 23:54Speaker 6: at the Celtics watch party for Game four, which was
- 23:56Speaker 6: a bummer. But uh, those are like the real fans.
- 24:00Speaker 3: You know.
- 24:00Speaker 6: It's unfortunately sometimes for these Finals games or these big
- 24:03Speaker 6: Super Bowls or whatever. All the real like the real
- 24:06Speaker 6: die hard fans get priced out and you get you
- 24:08Speaker 6: don't get those people in the building, right, and it
- 24:12Speaker 6: can be a little wine and cheesy, those crowds and
- 24:14Speaker 6: things like that. But the Brady thing, that was sixty
- 24:17Speaker 6: thousand people that were die hard Patriots fans, die hard
- 24:20Speaker 6: Brady fans that wanted to be there, and that element
- 24:23Speaker 6: of it I thought was really cool. And I almost
- 24:25Speaker 6: feel like it's a good thing that some of the
- 24:27Speaker 6: things that we did for him weren't on the live
- 24:31Speaker 6: stream because then you got this like you had to
- 24:33Speaker 6: be there, you know, And that's something that we'll talk
- 24:35Speaker 6: about jay Z public service announcement and these other things. Well,
- 24:39Speaker 6: you know, those people bought a ticket, they came out,
- 24:42Speaker 6: they went to the event. And nowadays everything is on
- 24:44Speaker 6: social media and on streaming and all this stuff where
- 24:47Speaker 6: being there in person isn't what it used to be anymore.
- 24:50Speaker 6: It's not as important to be there. So I thought
- 24:53Speaker 6: it was really cool that to see that, and especially
- 24:56Speaker 6: with how the team has played lately too, that to
- 24:59Speaker 6: have a moment to go back to the sun.
- 25:02Speaker 10: But I think this stuff is good for those guys
- 25:05Speaker 10: to see.
- 25:05Speaker 9: It was really great to see how many of our
- 25:07Speaker 9: current players, who most maybe five of them have played
- 25:10Speaker 9: with Tom Brady, but they showed up and I got
- 25:12Speaker 9: to talk to Dietrichwise and josh Uja off the top
- 25:15Speaker 9: of my head talking about how motivating it was to
- 25:18Speaker 9: be there and see everything that Tom created kind of
- 25:22Speaker 9: for this franchise and like the house that Tom Bilt.
- 25:25Speaker 9: So them just seeing that and understanding the gravity of
- 25:28Speaker 9: that moment and the power that an athlete can have
- 25:31Speaker 9: in this city was really great because it's motivating and
- 25:33Speaker 9: it reminds me of like Paul Pierce's retirement ceremony a
- 25:36Speaker 9: couple of years ago, and all the Celtics players were like,
- 25:39Speaker 9: this is motivating, this is inspiring being there watching it,
- 25:42Speaker 9: and they just raised a banner. So you know, that's
- 25:44Speaker 9: how you get these new generations of players to buy
- 25:48Speaker 9: into the sports culture here. So I mean having Tom
- 25:51Speaker 9: Brady last week and then the Celtics this week and
- 25:54Speaker 9: guys being at the game and seeing just the town
- 25:57Speaker 9: rally for the teams is just Yeah.
- 25:59Speaker 3: I don't know if he made it mandatory, but I
- 26:02Speaker 3: think he strongly encouraged the team to be at the event.
- 26:06Speaker 3: I think, like you said, it's good for them.
- 26:08Speaker 10: To see that, and like, hats off to a guy.
- 26:10Speaker 9: I'll call out Usha and Bentley by name, because a
- 26:14Speaker 9: lot of guys like there was an open bar. It
- 26:16Speaker 9: was a great time if you're a guest at this
- 26:18Speaker 9: event to have some fun and catch up with people.
- 26:20Speaker 9: But Usha and his dad and I saw it Bentley too,
- 26:24Speaker 9: Like they didn't take their eyes off the event.
- 26:26Speaker 10: They were invested. I think you could have waved your
- 26:28Speaker 10: hand in front of Joshua.
- 26:29Speaker 9: Usha and I don't think he would have taken his
- 26:31Speaker 9: eyes off Brady and just everything that was happening.
- 26:34Speaker 10: The guys were taking it in. It was cool to see.
- 26:36Speaker 4: Yeah, one more thing to highlight to Alex wrote about it.
- 26:38Speaker 4: Bill Burr had great story. I mean the first twenty
- 26:41Speaker 4: minutes of his podcast was just talking about the whole experience.
- 26:44Speaker 4: You know what it was like when they sprung jay
- 26:46Speaker 4: Z on him, Like he didn't really realize it.
- 26:48Speaker 7: He thought he was.
- 26:49Speaker 10: Opening you know, it was going to be at Gillette.
- 26:50Speaker 9: To that point, you were talking about people being surprised
- 26:54Speaker 9: by what we put on. Bill Burr was like, so,
- 26:56Speaker 9: what's up do you guys have? Like a little theater
- 26:58Speaker 9: in your Hall of Fame where I'm going to form.
- 27:00Speaker 9: And then I don't know who he was dealing with,
- 27:02Speaker 9: but they said no, it's that Jett Stadium. He's like, okay,
- 27:05Speaker 9: do you have like a little space, like how many
- 27:07Speaker 9: people are going to be there? It's sold out, like
- 27:09Speaker 9: fifty five thousand people. And he's like, oh my god,
- 27:12Speaker 9: why did why did I agree to this? He got
- 27:13Speaker 9: all the like the nerves set in.
- 27:15Speaker 3: But he's played stadiums, but no, that's well, he's played
- 27:17Speaker 3: big arenas.
- 27:19Speaker 10: Yeah, but I think just I think he was intimidated.
- 27:23Speaker 3: Yeah, no at first, like that's another person that we
- 27:26Speaker 3: had to deal with. And he was like, yeah, I
- 27:27Speaker 3: don't know if I want to have this streaming out
- 27:29Speaker 3: after it? What if I bomb? And you know, we
- 27:32Speaker 3: were like, you're not gonna bomb.
- 27:33Speaker 7: He talked about how he was very concerned with bombing. Yeah,
- 27:36Speaker 7: and it's nice to hear he thought it went great,
- 27:39Speaker 7: because you know it did.
- 27:40Speaker 3: I thought, yeah, the photos.
- 27:42Speaker 8: Was really Josh Allen.
- 27:44Speaker 5: That's to me, had saved saved him like that, Josh Allen.
- 27:48Speaker 10: Josh Allen.
- 27:48Speaker 6: I was like, and you know, I like Josh Allen,
- 27:51Speaker 6: but that was awesome.
- 27:52Speaker 9: And then the guy that's like this is who women
- 27:55Speaker 9: want to marry, who they end up.
- 27:58Speaker 3: That was good stuff.
- 27:59Speaker 8: Yeah, that was his second sort of run.
- 28:01Speaker 11: Right.
- 28:01Speaker 5: Yeah, that was much better than I thought. But because
- 28:04Speaker 5: I you telling me all that background that I didn't know,
- 28:07Speaker 5: that makes sense because he did.
- 28:09Speaker 8: Not appear comfortable at all. Yeah, he probably wasn't knowing.
- 28:12Speaker 10: But he's such a fan, you know.
- 28:13Speaker 9: And it's like he talks about in the podcast too,
- 28:15Speaker 9: how he didn't want to roast Brady at all, Like
- 28:18Speaker 9: it was right. He has so much respect for him
- 28:20Speaker 9: that it was just this hilarious up and down journey
- 28:24Speaker 9: of his life as a Patriots fan until Tom Brady,
- 28:27Speaker 9: robber Craft and Bill Belichick came to save the day.
- 28:29Speaker 3: And and you know, like he like he's a comedian,
- 28:31Speaker 3: so like there's no nothing's off limits. But and this
- 28:34Speaker 3: one there was like you're not roasting him, you know,
- 28:38Speaker 3: we're asking you not to swear a lot because there's
- 28:40Speaker 3: a lot of you know, so like he couldn't really
- 28:43Speaker 3: be himself.
- 28:44Speaker 9: But I don't know if he would have wanted to,
- 28:46Speaker 9: because I think he's that much of a diehard, oh Patriots.
- 28:48Speaker 10: Fan that he just wanted to use that five minutes
- 28:51Speaker 10: or whatever he had to just gush.
- 28:52Speaker 9: Yeah, and that's what the night was just the best
- 28:55Speaker 9: gush fest ever.
- 28:56Speaker 4: I just found myself wanting to get him on here
- 28:58Speaker 4: because he knows like the eighties in the nineties Patriots
- 29:01Speaker 4: like he like that that molded him, that formed him.
- 29:05Speaker 7: Like that's what Bill Burr is. He's he can have
- 29:07Speaker 7: those old school funny conversations about the old stadium and stuff.
- 29:10Speaker 10: Should look into.
- 29:11Speaker 3: That good stuff. Well, it's web radio at patriot dot com.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Is the email address?
- 29:15Speaker 6: Five?
- 29:16Speaker 3: Await what am I talking about? Eight five five? What's
- 29:19Speaker 3: the number? Five? Five pats five five five pats five
- 29:22Speaker 3: hundred friends?
- 29:23Speaker 10: About to give his personal cell phone?
- 29:24Speaker 4: Did you guys have a pizza? Time delivers to the
- 29:26Speaker 4: new studio or we're gonna we're.
- 29:28Speaker 5: Gonna find out. Yeah, we're gonna find out probably in
- 29:31Speaker 5: about twenty minutes.
- 29:32Speaker 3: We're gonna have to give him that action.
- 29:33Speaker 6: It's gonna be tough.
- 29:34Speaker 7: I just want to see like a pizza start, just
- 29:35Speaker 7: walk right in like is this what?
- 29:37Speaker 6: Then take a left, you know, just goes on camera.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Ways, let's let's hit up the age ticket houtline. We'll
- 29:46Speaker 3: go up I just dropped it. Uh THEO in South Burrow,
- 29:50Speaker 3: Uh callback.
- 29:51Speaker 8: Say his name, but you just hung up on him,
- 29:52Speaker 8: So it's not really gonna help good.
- 29:54Speaker 3: No call back, Sorry THEO Christopher chimes in, Uh not done.
- 29:59Speaker 3: Network was a continuous stream throughout the week. So I
- 30:03Speaker 3: wonder if that's some sort of record, you know.
- 30:06Speaker 7: Check with Guinness.
- 30:09Speaker 8: Fred and I were on ninety.
- 30:12Speaker 3: It was a long week. L from Wisconsin, Evan should
- 30:16Speaker 3: buy one piece of merch for each playoff opponent missing
- 30:19Speaker 3: their best player.
- 30:20Speaker 5: Oh wow, someone tells me that in like a month,
- 30:25Speaker 5: people won't be talking about that any.
- 30:27Speaker 6: Why don't you like go back? Do we remember how
- 30:30Speaker 6: any of the other team's runs and who is missing
- 30:33Speaker 6: and who wasn't missing?
- 30:34Speaker 3: And that's fine? So so maybe that's you know, obviously
- 30:39Speaker 3: it is true, but like, and you dominated them. You
- 30:43Speaker 3: did what you should have done against a team that
- 30:45Speaker 3: didn't have their best player. You beat them by twenty
- 30:46Speaker 3: points most nights.
- 30:47Speaker 6: Correct, You know, to talk about the Nuggets beat three
- 30:50Speaker 6: playing teams to win the championship last year, it's.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Just the Celtics all starck aside though the Celtics were
- 30:56Speaker 3: by far the best team this year, but damn did
- 30:59Speaker 3: the basketball go odds work for them?
- 31:01Speaker 6: And that's that's why I said at the top that
- 31:03Speaker 6: last night was relief for me because they did.
- 31:05Speaker 8: Break their way. But it was really tatum.
- 31:08Speaker 9: To see, like the Celtics put themselves in that position
- 31:12Speaker 9: to capitalize on that lucky break, you know what I mean.
- 31:15Speaker 9: If they don't put themselves in that position all year,
- 31:17Speaker 9: if they're not playing at the caliber they were playing
- 31:19Speaker 9: in all season, they're not there.
- 31:22Speaker 3: So I would be one thing if they were like
- 31:24Speaker 3: the sixth seed and all these things happened. But they
- 31:27Speaker 3: were the best team throughout the season far.
- 31:31Speaker 5: But you can't separate the two too though. I think
- 31:34Speaker 5: they were the best team all season long. I mean,
- 31:37Speaker 5: like you don't think they.
- 31:39Speaker 8: Were, I don't know, but experts still they had you know,
- 31:42Speaker 8: that's the first time the experts.
- 31:43Speaker 10: Still thought the Maps were going to win. Experts quote unquote.
- 31:46Speaker 8: I mean not a lot.
- 31:47Speaker 5: I mean it was over the odds were overwhelming on
- 31:51Speaker 5: like DraftKings, but the.
- 31:53Speaker 6: Nine eight their experts were nine eight Dallas. But like,
- 31:55Speaker 6: I think the biggest thing and look, I can I
- 31:57Speaker 6: can understand that that is true, right, they did have
- 32:00Speaker 6: a lot of stars on the other side that were injured.
- 32:02Speaker 6: I think the two biggest things that that that irked
- 32:05Speaker 6: me about that conversation. First of all, Christaps Porzingis was
- 32:08Speaker 6: heard for the entire run, So to sit here and
- 32:10Speaker 6: act like the Celtics were at full strength the entire
- 32:12Speaker 6: time is not true either. And that's their third best player.
- 32:17Speaker 9: Only five people in the country had the injury he had, Like.
- 32:21Speaker 10: That's kind of unlocked. It's kind of crazy.
- 32:24Speaker 6: It's not just no way.
- 32:26Speaker 5: The second injury, yes, I mean, but the first injury
- 32:28Speaker 5: a lot of people.
- 32:30Speaker 6: That's that's why Milwaukee got knocked.
- 32:32Speaker 10: Out the other random because said the same thing.
- 32:35Speaker 5: And that's the thing is, I do think they were
- 32:37Speaker 5: the best team. I do think they would have won
- 32:39Speaker 5: it regardless. I really do, Like I you know, I
- 32:41Speaker 5: just watched them most nights and it seemed like they
- 32:44Speaker 5: lost on the knights where they kind of didn't really
- 32:46Speaker 5: show up. And I know that sounds really arrogant. That's
- 32:48Speaker 5: the way we used to talk about the Patriots, and
- 32:50Speaker 5: I hated that too, but.
- 32:52Speaker 8: I kind of think it's true.
- 32:53Speaker 5: I think that they lost a handful of games because
- 32:55Speaker 5: they weren't really mentally checked in, So I think they
- 32:59Speaker 5: would have won no matter what. But to have you know,
- 33:03Speaker 5: Milwaukee had the talent to play with them in a series.
- 33:07Speaker 5: Philadelphia probably had the talent to play with them in
- 33:09Speaker 5: the series. They were crippled like they weren't. They weren't
- 33:12Speaker 5: going to get there And look at this.
- 33:14Speaker 7: This guy the camera looks.
- 33:18Speaker 5: Like and I will say, I don't think it mattered.
- 33:21Speaker 5: I think they would have beaten Milwaukee, and I know
- 33:23Speaker 5: they would have beaten Philadelphia because I think Philadelphia is
- 33:27Speaker 5: not ready to beat them.
- 33:28Speaker 7: I think definitely something.
- 33:33Speaker 5: So I mean, to me, it did kind of stink
- 33:38Speaker 5: to have not only a bunch of bad teams that
- 33:41Speaker 5: you played, but a bunch of bad teams without all
- 33:43Speaker 5: the good players like that kind of stunk to me.
- 33:46Speaker 6: At the same time, I do wonder if some of
- 33:50Speaker 6: those series, like Donovan Mitchell goes out in the Cleveland series,
- 33:55Speaker 6: you knew you were going to lose, like, let's let's
- 33:57Speaker 6: face it, like you knew it was over and you
- 33:59Speaker 6: tapped out out all right, Tyr's Haliburton getting hurt.
- 34:02Speaker 8: I'm not going there, Oh I am.
- 34:04Speaker 6: Tarry's Halliburton getting hurt after you're already down two zero
- 34:07Speaker 6: in the series, and then you're not showing up in Indiana,
- 34:10Speaker 6: like all right.
- 34:11Speaker 8: I actually thought that he got hurt in the early
- 34:14Speaker 8: in game two.
- 34:15Speaker 5: They lost Game one, when they completely collapsed, Game two
- 34:19Speaker 5: was going on and he got hurt.
- 34:20Speaker 8: You think he just took the rest of the series off. No,
- 34:22Speaker 8: I think they just said I think we made a
- 34:23Speaker 8: conscious decision in the middle of like second quarter.
- 34:27Speaker 6: I think a lot of guys would have played through.
- 34:28Speaker 6: I think Luca played through it. I think Luke Luca
- 34:31Speaker 6: was banged up the entire time and he played.
- 34:33Speaker 8: I think that's unfair.
- 34:34Speaker 6: Limped out there in Game five and played on it.
- 34:36Speaker 5: So I just think it's unfair like to say the
- 34:38Speaker 5: guy he knew they were gonna lose.
- 34:39Speaker 6: We quit. That's how I feel. I just I feel
- 34:43Speaker 6: like we're gonna quit because he knew.
- 34:45Speaker 8: They couldn't know, like whe where does the line drop?
- 34:48Speaker 6: Like I didn't say, honest, a serious injury, same injury
- 34:51Speaker 6: that Porzingis had.
- 34:52Speaker 8: But Halliburton has been dealing with that hamstring for the
- 34:54Speaker 8: whole season.
- 34:55Speaker 6: Okay, and other guys have been dealing with stuff for
- 34:57Speaker 6: the whole season.
- 34:57Speaker 5: Right, and some of them can't play, like like Great
- 35:00Speaker 5: Turner for the Phillies just missed thirty eight games with
- 35:02Speaker 5: the same thing, like it's something.
- 35:04Speaker 8: It's hard.
- 35:05Speaker 6: It's hard to play at that level.
- 35:07Speaker 5: That's why I'm back with Alex. Like with with Pozingis,
- 35:11Speaker 5: I have unbelievable respect for that guy. First of all,
- 35:14Speaker 5: to come in in game one and not only have
- 35:17Speaker 5: missed all that time, forty days or I was like
- 35:19Speaker 5: thirty eight days and dominate, Yeah, dominant, dominating.
- 35:23Speaker 9: And I was apprehensive about him even playing that much.
- 35:26Speaker 9: It's bad juju if your if your role in a
- 35:27Speaker 9: guy hasn't played in a while, to throw him in there.
- 35:30Speaker 9: So I was so nervous and then he I ate
- 35:32Speaker 9: my words.
- 35:33Speaker 6: It's so hard though I've ever seen.
- 35:36Speaker 9: And the best part was the broadcast that during that
- 35:39Speaker 9: game was like, oh, Portingas looks so tired, and then
- 35:41Speaker 9: he just went off off.
- 35:43Speaker 6: It was amazing, Hey, amazing.

- 38:11Speaker 12: Patriots Hall of Fame speech.
- 38:15Speaker 13: Patriot Nation. It feels good to be home this evening.
- 38:28Speaker 13: Mark's a monumental moment in my life. It's a celebration
- 38:31Speaker 13: of twenty years here in New England, playing for the Patriots,
- 38:36Speaker 13: playing for you, the greatest fans in the NFL. I'm
- 38:50Speaker 13: overwhelmed with gratitude and a deep sense of honor. So
- 38:56Speaker 13: let me say thank you for all that you've done
- 38:58Speaker 13: to help me, to help us achieve our lifelong dreams.
- 39:08Speaker 2: You guys are amazing.
- 39:10Speaker 13: What other fans in the world would spend hours on
- 39:13Speaker 13: Route one every Sunday to get to a stadium in
- 39:17Speaker 13: the middle of the woods.
- 39:24Speaker 2: We've even got four guys who went to jail.
- 39:27Speaker 13: For me sitting right here as rkk's special guests. I
- 39:46Speaker 13: miss this place and I miss you, and I didn't
- 39:50Speaker 13: even encourage you guys to get lubed up tonight, but
- 39:54Speaker 13: you guys have shown out like you always do, and
- 39:58Speaker 13: I love it.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Tonight.
- 40:06Speaker 13: Tonight's celebration of everyone who's ever cared about this organization,
- 40:12Speaker 13: everyone who has work, cheered, sacrificed for it, past present,
- 40:19Speaker 13: in future. I promise this isn't like the last time
- 40:23Speaker 13: I was on stage with RKK and Coach Belichick and
- 40:26Speaker 13: Jules and Gronk and Randy in La a month ago.
- 40:29Speaker 13: Those were the hardest hits I've ever taken.
- 40:31Speaker 2: In my life.
- 40:34Speaker 13: But there're nobody here is take any hits tonight. I
- 40:37Speaker 13: have so much love and respect for you all. If
- 40:42Speaker 13: you spend time in this organization, you are blessed.
- 40:48Speaker 2: We're blessed because we learned so many.
- 40:51Speaker 13: Things that most people never have the opportunity to learn.
- 40:56Speaker 13: That nothing of significance in life is accomplished as an individual.
- 41:03Speaker 13: Nobody individually hangs those six banners up there.
- 41:14Speaker 2: The team does.
- 41:18Speaker 3: Here.
- 41:18Speaker 13: In New England, it's always about we and us, not
- 41:23Speaker 13: me or mine. Relationships are built on shared experiences, and
- 41:30Speaker 13: the most meaningful thing in my life are my relationships.
- 41:34Speaker 13: I truly wish I had more time. I wish I
- 41:39Speaker 13: had more time to give you all. So how do
- 41:54Speaker 13: I sum up two decades in New England.
- 41:56Speaker 2: In one short speech? The ample The answer is simple,
- 42:01Speaker 2: you can't.
- 42:02Speaker 13: It's hard for me to properly express my gratitude and
- 42:06Speaker 13: my appreciation for how my time here is added to
- 42:09Speaker 13: my life. There are too many lessons learned, too many
- 42:12Speaker 13: stories to be told, too many incredible moments and achievements
- 42:17Speaker 13: we all experience together. It would take me thirty days
- 42:21Speaker 13: to get through it all, not thirty minutes. There are
- 42:31Speaker 13: so many people to think, and I apologize in advance
- 42:35Speaker 13: if I leave anybody out. So with that being said,
- 42:39Speaker 13: thank you to my mom and dad, my rock, my foundation.
- 42:50Speaker 13: Your love and your commitment to your family is unmatched
- 42:55Speaker 13: to my sisters and me.
- 42:56Speaker 2: You are everything.
- 42:59Speaker 13: I'll never be able to thank you as much as
- 43:01Speaker 13: you deserve. Sometimes it takes someone to believe in you
- 43:05Speaker 13: when you don't believe in yourself. And along with so
- 43:08Speaker 13: many other things, that's what you gave me, my sisters
- 43:17Speaker 13: Maureen and Julie Nancy. People ask me where I get
- 43:20Speaker 13: my mental toughness. I was the fourth best athlete in
- 43:23Speaker 13: my own house growing up. I had no choice. My
- 43:28Speaker 13: sisters would always stick up for me. When the older
- 43:30Speaker 13: boys in a neighborhood, Paul and Bobby are sitting right
- 43:33Speaker 13: down there. You did tell me go long, Yeah, go
- 43:36Speaker 13: keep going, Tommy, keep going all the way down.
- 43:38Speaker 2: The street, take a left.
- 43:41Speaker 13: Yeah, go that way, And then they would say game over,
- 43:45Speaker 13: let's go home, and I would be standing down there
- 43:48Speaker 13: like they finally included me.
- 43:51Speaker 2: But you toughened me up in so many.
- 43:54Speaker 13: Ways, and my sisters there stood up me, stood up
- 43:57Speaker 13: for me every single step of the way.
- 44:00Speaker 2: I love you guys so much.
- 44:08Speaker 13: To my kids, Jack, Benny, VV, your dad loves you
- 44:11Speaker 13: more than anything in this world. Your smiles outshine the
- 44:21Speaker 13: morning sun.
- 44:24Speaker 2: And where I live. Now, that's a pretty brilliant son.
- 44:28Speaker 13: There's no greater joy than watching the three of you
- 44:32Speaker 13: grow and teach me things on your way to becoming
- 44:35Speaker 13: incredible young adults. To the communities in sam Mateo and
- 44:44Speaker 13: in Arbor, the countless teammates, neighbors, coaches, teachers that form
- 44:49Speaker 13: me into the man that I am today. Thank you
- 44:54Speaker 13: you always believed in me. Donnie Donyie Duban, my agents,
- 45:01Speaker 13: two men who took a hot headed sixth round pick
- 45:04Speaker 13: out of college from Michigan and helped them navigate the
- 45:07Speaker 13: whirlwind that.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Would be the next twenty three years.
- 45:10Speaker 13: I'm sorry for taking all those team friendly deals along
- 45:13Speaker 13: the way. Fellas to my friends Kevin Brady, Pat Kratis,
- 45:23Speaker 13: Michael Brown or Ben Rowitz.
- 45:27Speaker 2: And countless others, you.
- 45:29Speaker 13: Guys have been through thick and thin with me, whether
- 45:32Speaker 13: it was a difficult conversation or a wild flight.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Home from the Derby, You've been there every step of the.
- 45:38Speaker 13: Way to Alex Squero, my brother from another mother. Our
- 45:51Speaker 13: commitment to each other's unmatched. Thank you for being who
- 45:55Speaker 13: you are, a selfless, dedicated goat.
- 45:58Speaker 3: And just so.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Everyone here knows.
- 46:00Speaker 13: Without ag this moneymaker right here, this thing would have lost.
- 46:05Speaker 2: Its touch a long time ago.
- 46:15Speaker 13: To RKK and the entire Craft family, Myra, Jonathan, Danny, Josh,
- 46:30Speaker 13: David and Dana. In the year two thousand, I was
- 46:34Speaker 13: drafted as an immature twenty three year old kid, and
- 46:37Speaker 13: twenty years later I left New England as a much older.
- 46:40Speaker 2: Forty two year old immature kid.
- 46:44Speaker 13: But in that time I was taken in by a
- 46:45Speaker 13: family who loved me as a son and embraced my
- 46:49Speaker 13: family as one of their own. RKK look around. You
- 46:56Speaker 13: fostered a culture of excellence and integrity that has impacted
- 47:02Speaker 13: an entire region.
- 47:07Speaker 2: I love you.
- 47:10Speaker 14: When someone accidentally threw away the school play costumes, replacements
- 47:15Speaker 14: were shipped with FedEx and with picture proof of delivery,
- 47:18Speaker 14: everyone could focus on the perfect opening night FedEx where
- 47:22Speaker 14: now it's next for residential delivery only.
- 47:27Speaker 1: And now great moments in history.
- 47:32Speaker 5: I believe they were not in pads right light light Yeah,
- 47:37Speaker 5: pads which you always ask every Wednesday, and.
- 47:39Speaker 8: Then finally the answer changed and you weren't here.
- 47:42Speaker 3: So do you think they will not be in pads
- 47:45Speaker 3: all week? Or will they be in pads today?
- 47:47Speaker 6: I think they were in in pads, but not like
- 47:51Speaker 6: full pads yesterday. I think it was light pads, but
- 47:54Speaker 6: I have to double check on that. That's even better
- 47:56Speaker 6: because be I know, like now I'm doubting myself a
- 48:01Speaker 6: little bit.
- 48:02Speaker 4: We noticed too in the locker room, Mac had on
- 48:03Speaker 4: one of the scuba hats, so it seemed like he's trying.
- 48:06Speaker 6: To Yeah, a lot of the players, that's true. Like
- 48:09Speaker 6: if you were here, you would have asked these questions
- 48:11Speaker 6: and we would have told the listeners about these things.
- 48:14Speaker 7: You feel attacked.
- 48:15Speaker 6: I asked them what the mood was supposed to do?
- 48:17Speaker 5: Oh no, he did. He asked all the requisite questions.
- 48:20Speaker 5: We were upset that you weren't here to answer to
- 48:21Speaker 5: hear the answer.
- 48:22Speaker 6: Yeah, I know we would have gotten to this point
- 48:24Speaker 6: atob A lot of the players were wearing like sweatshirts
- 48:28Speaker 6: or layers underneath their their their practice outfits because the heat.
- 48:35Speaker 6: They want to they want to be hot, be hot
- 48:37Speaker 6: because of Miami.
- 48:38Speaker 3: Gotcha, huh that's it.
- 48:41Speaker 6: That's your recap of yesterday's.
- 48:43Speaker 3: I wonder if that translates, because when you're in Miami,
- 48:45Speaker 3: the heat comes from the sun right outside rather than
- 48:49Speaker 3: coming internally. That's that's a different type of hot.
- 48:52Speaker 8: Yeah, I think still, where's the heat come from another places?
- 48:56Speaker 1: That's another great moment from.
- 49:00Speaker 3: All right back here in Patriots on filtered eight five
- 49:03Speaker 3: to five past five hundred. Is the ace ticket hutline
- 49:05Speaker 3: web radio at batrice dot com. Is the email address.
- 49:08Speaker 3: It's Deuce, it's Alex, it's Evan Paul, myself basking in
- 49:13Speaker 3: the glory of the Celtics championship.
- 49:17Speaker 6: So running out of steam a little bit? Yeah, too
- 49:22Speaker 6: much half iron I did sleep a little bit, but
- 49:25Speaker 6: by the time we got home and then I then
- 49:27Speaker 6: I needed to watch all the stuff that was being
- 49:30Speaker 6: posted on social media and all the press conferences and stuff.
- 49:33Speaker 6: So so late, Oh.
- 49:34Speaker 8: Man, I do how many times do I ask you that?
- 49:37Speaker 6: Who consumes that? There's my answer?
- 49:39Speaker 3: There you go.
- 49:41Speaker 5: I watched the post game, you know a little bit.
- 49:44Speaker 5: I thought they thought the network struggled in that regard.
- 49:47Speaker 10: Yeah, the trophy presentation left a little bit to be desired.
- 49:50Speaker 5: Yeah, which gets that was unfortunate. I watched some of that,
- 49:55Speaker 5: and then you know some of the interviews, you know,
- 49:57Speaker 5: all the players kind of heard from each of the
- 50:00Speaker 5: you know, the six main players. And then I was like, okay,
- 50:03Speaker 5: that's fair enough, and these two were up on Twitter.
- 50:07Speaker 5: Well I can't get it now.
- 50:09Speaker 9: I'll tell you something a little embarrassing. I had on, Yes,
- 50:13Speaker 9: I promise it's worse. I had on like a clay
- 50:15Speaker 9: face mask, you know, doing your skincare night. You know,
- 50:18Speaker 9: it's it's a girl thing. But I started tearing up
- 50:22Speaker 9: a little bit with the Douce stuff, like it's a
- 50:25Speaker 9: little moment, little little Deuce Tatum, I don't know, just
- 50:30Speaker 9: like and then hearing people talk about like Tommy, I
- 50:32Speaker 9: don't know, I'm emotional.
- 50:34Speaker 10: It might be that time of a month, but whatever.
- 50:37Speaker 9: So I started tearing up, and then the clay from
- 50:40Speaker 9: my face mask gets into my eyes and I'm wiping it.
- 50:43Speaker 9: But I don't go to the bathroom to wash it
- 50:45Speaker 9: off because it's the trophy. Pres I would have missed it.
- 50:48Speaker 10: So I'm just sitting there tearing up, and then the
- 50:50Speaker 10: more I wipe it, the worse it gets. My eyes
- 50:53Speaker 10: were burning all night.
- 50:55Speaker 5: And she wanted. She wanted to look her best.
- 51:00Speaker 4: You want to put the trophy presentation, you got to
- 51:02Speaker 4: make sacrifices, right, the memes too.
- 51:04Speaker 8: She would have knocked out all of her teeth for
- 51:06Speaker 8: a title.
- 51:07Speaker 6: Yeah, I didn't want to, but it was, it was.
- 51:12Speaker 6: It was a late night.
- 51:13Speaker 8: I think Fred's had enough of us. He's got that
- 51:16Speaker 8: look on his Yeah.
- 51:17Speaker 10: He's in the captain seat.
- 51:18Speaker 3: I'm checking out.
- 51:19Speaker 4: That was That was just that was always nice about
- 51:21Speaker 4: celebrating championships on the West Coast.
- 51:23Speaker 7: Because it's still early, you got a little extra time to,
- 51:25Speaker 7: you know, go crazy.
- 51:26Speaker 5: I was pleasantly surprised that that's the game seemed to
- 51:28Speaker 5: move like it was over by eleven, like.
- 51:31Speaker 7: It was over halftime in my view.
- 51:32Speaker 5: Well, yeah, at the end of the first quarter. And
- 51:39Speaker 5: Alex I did see you tweeted about this too, but like,
- 51:41Speaker 5: did you watch to.
- 51:42Speaker 3: The end of the game. Yeah, oh yeah, So, I.
- 51:44Speaker 5: Mean they're not by like nine hundred and eleven points
- 51:46Speaker 5: and Dallas scored and then I think Luca picked Jalen
- 51:51Speaker 5: Brown's pocket.
- 51:53Speaker 8: Coach Hardo has to call a time out.
- 51:55Speaker 10: He called the challenge to.
- 51:57Speaker 5: Eleven left, followed by the next possession where clearly the
- 52:00Speaker 5: ball had gotten stripped and it went off of Luca's leg.
- 52:04Speaker 5: He calls another time out to challenge absolutely.
- 52:08Speaker 8: Just to you know, because no one's there to celebrate
- 52:12Speaker 8: a title. No one can.
- 52:13Speaker 5: No one wanted to sell, no one wanted to be
- 52:15Speaker 5: ready to celebrate the banner eighteen. We wanted to watch
- 52:18Speaker 5: Joe Mazzuoli.
- 52:18Speaker 6: It was eighteen. It was eighteen with three minutes to go.
- 52:21Speaker 6: And nowadays with that three point line, stop, I'm not
- 52:25Speaker 6: stopping at all. Put you I've seen it happen before,
- 52:29Speaker 6: like not in that amount of time, like it was
- 52:31Speaker 6: over at that point.
- 52:32Speaker 8: Amount, but you haven't seen it happen.
- 52:34Speaker 6: But it's a championship game in the NBA Finals, Like
- 52:37Speaker 6: I'm not ever happening. I'm not taking any chances. They
- 52:40Speaker 6: in Game three, they blew a twenty one point lead.
- 52:44Speaker 5: And Alex because Alex will remember because I know that you.
- 52:47Speaker 5: I did see your tweet about it, so I know
- 52:49Speaker 5: you would. What was it when they when they did
- 52:51Speaker 5: the challenge, it was like eleven to.
- 52:55Speaker 8: Two.
- 52:55Speaker 9: Predator versus Prey won the challenge, though he did just
- 53:00Speaker 9: to irritate people, and he irritated his own fans well
- 53:03Speaker 9: Present Company excluded.
- 53:05Speaker 8: No, I just.
- 53:06Speaker 6: Wanted to celebrate. I just wanted the titles touched to
- 53:10Speaker 6: the end of the game. It's like what he says
- 53:12Speaker 6: when they put the Stay Ready crew in at the
- 53:13Speaker 6: end of the games that are blowouts. He says, I
- 53:15Speaker 6: coached the same as I would if Jason, Tatum and
- 53:17Speaker 6: Jalen were in the game, because I owe it to
- 53:19Speaker 6: them to do that. It's not over. You know they're playing.
- 53:22Speaker 6: It's not over.
- 53:23Speaker 5: That makes sense, Like when the game is over and
- 53:25Speaker 5: you're ready to celebrate a title, let's just get to
- 53:28Speaker 5: celebrating the title.
- 53:29Speaker 6: You know that.
- 53:30Speaker 8: That's all but coaching. You should coach all your players
- 53:33Speaker 8: the same. That makes coach the end THEO.
- 53:36Speaker 3: Who I hung up on rights in. I went to
- 53:40Speaker 3: the Brady event and my grandparents, uh with my grandparents
- 53:44Speaker 3: in that Randy Moss standing ovation was truly special. As
- 53:48Speaker 3: someone who never saw him play because I was born
- 53:50Speaker 3: in nine, I thought it was even cooler. So there
- 53:53Speaker 3: you go.
- 53:54Speaker 6: That was good.
- 53:58Speaker 3: Yeah, let's see, Carrie writes in not sure why Evan
- 54:04Speaker 3: seems to be so anti British.
- 54:07Speaker 6: At least we already read this on catch Okay, I
- 54:11Speaker 6: made a seventeen seventy six joke, and Carrie was very
- 54:14Speaker 6: very upset about it. Looks she looks forward to greeting
- 54:17Speaker 6: you in London anytime. Reading comedy doesn't exist anymore. Friend,
- 54:22Speaker 6: you can't make jokes anymore. People get sensitive.
- 54:27Speaker 7: Claire will protect you.
- 54:30Speaker 3: Made from Miami, love the show. Wondering if you guys
- 54:34Speaker 3: have experienced as experienced parade goers, have any tips for
- 54:38Speaker 3: first time or coming from Miami for the parade on Friday.
- 54:41Speaker 3: Any advice on where to go, what time, anything I
- 54:43Speaker 3: should know. Would love to get some feedback.
- 54:46Speaker 6: Do you want to go first? Or should I go first?
- 54:47Speaker 10: I used to always get there really early.
- 54:50Speaker 3: So where's there?
- 54:52Speaker 10: I liked the spot outside of the comments.
- 54:54Speaker 9: There's a nice wall that encloses the park and you
- 54:57Speaker 9: can stand on top of the wall.
- 54:59Speaker 10: That's my spot. Won't gatekeep for Patriots?
- 55:01Speaker 8: On filters you could say, nothing's going to hurt you too.
- 55:03Speaker 10: But don't deal with your vehicle.
- 55:07Speaker 9: Get there early to take the train in, but you
- 55:10Speaker 9: got to get there early enough to get on the train.
- 55:13Speaker 10: Expect to just kind of camp and wait.
- 55:14Speaker 6: For usually the train. Uh, the tea is free on
- 55:18Speaker 6: parade day.
- 55:19Speaker 3: Well, if you're coming from Miami. If you're staying in Boston,
- 55:21Speaker 3: you're all set, you know, just walk out of your
- 55:23Speaker 3: hotel and yah.
- 55:24Speaker 10: I guess it depends where you're saying.
- 55:25Speaker 9: It depends on where I would say it's going to
- 55:27Speaker 9: be a nice day. If you have the means, I
- 55:29Speaker 9: would just do the whole day on foot. Expect to
- 55:32Speaker 9: walk twenty five thousand steps and have a day.
- 55:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 55:36Speaker 8: Just did you go to any of the parades I've
- 55:38Speaker 8: never been to.
- 55:39Speaker 6: I would definitely say the common is the most is
- 55:43Speaker 6: the easiest way to get to them. And the other thing.
- 55:45Speaker 6: I think this might go without saying, but don't try
- 55:48Speaker 6: to follow the parade. You're not going to be You're
- 55:51Speaker 6: not going to be able to. So just find a
- 55:53Speaker 6: really good spot that you can post up in and
- 55:56Speaker 6: then watch the parade go by. And then unfortunately that's it.
- 56:00Speaker 6: Like as much as you would love to follow it
- 56:02Speaker 6: or whatever, I've tried following it in the past, and
- 56:05Speaker 6: trust me, and it's now.
- 56:06Speaker 10: Have you guys ever gotten to go on the boats.
- 56:08Speaker 10: I know some of the we've.
- 56:10Speaker 8: Been invited to, but we have I've always chosen not to. Ye, Well,
- 56:15Speaker 8: we have to work.
- 56:16Speaker 6: I went on I went on it in twenty eighteen
- 56:19Speaker 6: on the media.
- 56:20Speaker 5: Duc though the rest of the organization like this is
- 56:23Speaker 5: like a marketing It's been a long time, but this
- 56:26Speaker 5: is a complete ghost town. And there have been times
- 56:28Speaker 5: literally where Fred Andy Hart, Paul Perillo, and Brian Moore
- 56:34Speaker 5: like four of eleven people in the building.
- 56:37Speaker 3: Up until you know, twenty we were doing the newspaper.
- 56:42Speaker 3: So we were putting out the newspaper. So I've never
- 56:44Speaker 3: been to a parade.
- 56:46Speaker 7: Here's like a live pu on the duck boat during
- 56:49Speaker 7: a parade.
- 56:50Speaker 6: Oh pretty well, are just finding a spot to post
- 56:53Speaker 6: up and have like this kind of set up and
- 56:55Speaker 6: do it? It would be cool to city hall. Yeah,
- 56:58Speaker 6: I've been to quite a few.
- 57:00Speaker 5: The last the last super Bowl was our last issue, correct, right,
- 57:03Speaker 5: so it would have been February of nineteen, So we've
- 57:06Speaker 5: never not had the paper.
- 57:08Speaker 8: So we would probably have.
- 57:09Speaker 5: A decision to make now if we want another super Bowl,
- 57:13Speaker 5: whether or not we go, because they do have you know,
- 57:15Speaker 5: we're all the whole organization goes.
- 57:18Speaker 7: And they're on you know, yeah, they put like the
- 57:20Speaker 7: Parking Department on them.
- 57:21Speaker 4: Hut vote Yeah it might do so everybody concessions, Yeah,
- 57:26Speaker 4: but we we never got to go.
- 57:28Speaker 8: Well, no, never got to go. I don't think we
- 57:31Speaker 8: really wanted to go, but we didn't go. Yeah, the
- 57:34Speaker 8: rest of the automation they.
- 57:36Speaker 9: Did from people who have been on there's something. I
- 57:40Speaker 9: guess there's something about when you make that turn onto
- 57:44Speaker 9: the street with the park and just the whole crowd
- 57:46Speaker 9: erupts and there's a bunch of people.
- 57:48Speaker 4: It was.
- 57:48Speaker 6: It was a really cool It's always been fun eighteen
- 57:51Speaker 6: and I think the parades in general are fun because
- 57:53Speaker 6: as a fan, that's the way that you get to
- 57:57Speaker 6: celebrate with them, and like you're not going to go
- 57:59Speaker 6: in the locker room or something like that after the game,
- 58:01Speaker 6: so there's that's as close as you're going to get
- 58:03Speaker 6: to being part of the celebration.
- 58:05Speaker 9: Was so cool because it was February, but it was
- 58:07Speaker 9: a beautiful day. We were out in T shirts for
- 58:10Speaker 9: that parade.
- 58:11Speaker 10: People were running around.
- 58:12Speaker 9: It felt like it must have been like sixty five
- 58:13Speaker 9: degrees randomly in February that day.
- 58:16Speaker 10: People were running.
- 58:17Speaker 9: The pond in the common was frozen and Patriots fans
- 58:20Speaker 9: were running across it, and it was just like.
- 58:22Speaker 7: That doesn't sound that is not safe.
- 58:24Speaker 10: It's too hot to be doing that.
- 58:26Speaker 3: Yeah, greetings from Santa Barbara, says Max. First off, great
- 58:32Speaker 3: stream of the Brady Knight. Why is Bill Burr's Andy
- 58:35Speaker 3: Reid comment not there? I didn't know it wasn't say
- 58:38Speaker 3: it ain't so that you've caved to political correctness. I
- 58:41Speaker 3: didn't know.
- 58:42Speaker 6: Is that is it not on there?
- 58:43Speaker 7: I don't know. That was my favorite lines though, that
- 58:45Speaker 7: is and it's too fat for that that.
- 58:49Speaker 8: I just liked the Josh All.
- 58:52Speaker 10: Monologue or the photo portion the photo.
- 58:55Speaker 3: That ceremony reminded me of Ores Night when people got
- 58:58Speaker 3: to say goodbye. As for the Celtics having had season
- 59:02Speaker 3: tickets during the Bird era, I can't watch what has
- 59:05Speaker 3: passed off as the NBA now, But I can't say
- 59:08Speaker 3: the eighty four to eighty six Celtics, the eighty two,
- 59:10Speaker 3: eighty three Sixers, and the eighty five eighty seven Lakers
- 59:14Speaker 3: would go undefeated in today's game. The victory margin would
- 59:17Speaker 3: only be determined by what rules they use. The eighties
- 59:20Speaker 3: or the ones they don't exist now where traveling three seconds,
- 59:24Speaker 3: et cetera. Are not called. At least all eighteen banners
- 59:27Speaker 3: are legit, not like the five stolen ones the Lakers
- 59:30Speaker 3: claim from Minnesota.
- 59:32Speaker 6: You do not need to watch. I love this.
- 59:34Speaker 5: I love that kind of bitterness though, yeah, I don't
- 59:36Speaker 5: agree with a lot of it, but I love that
- 59:38Speaker 5: kind of bitterness.
- 59:39Speaker 8: The Lakers season, the Lakers thing like the Minneapolis.
- 59:42Speaker 7: On don't count Pittsburgh Steelers in the Hall of Fame thing?
- 59:45Speaker 6: Yeah, no, is another one irrational thing.
- 59:48Speaker 10: Is one of my biggest pet piece.
- 59:50Speaker 6: I told you it does belong to the Minnesota timberwoves.
- 59:54Speaker 3: I do wonder if they call traveling how it would
- 59:57Speaker 3: affect scoring, you know.
- 59:59Speaker 6: So, I I know that this is going to be people.
- 1:00:02Speaker 6: People might disagree, but the way the rules are written,
- 1:00:08Speaker 6: it's not by the book traveling. Now I'm not saying
- 1:00:11Speaker 6: if you think that that should be traveling, and that's
- 1:00:13Speaker 6: your opinion, that's fine. But the way that the rules
- 1:00:16Speaker 6: are written in the NBA, the things that you we
- 1:00:19Speaker 6: are all looking at and saying, he traveled.
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: So did they rewrite the rules? Because so now you're
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: I always thought that the rule was if both feet
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: leave the ground and you come down with the ball
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: still in your hand, it's traveling.
- 1:00:32Speaker 8: So there's a gather jump stop like that's a little different.
- 1:00:37Speaker 10: If youth basketball, the gather.
- 1:00:40Speaker 5: You get called for that every time someone who just
- 1:00:43Speaker 5: got finished playing you know, my watching my son. That
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: jump stops and whatnot are very hard to get away
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: with in high school.
- 1:00:51Speaker 6: Yeah, gather the gather step changed everything.
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: Yeah, well the gather step the hop step.
- 1:00:57Speaker 6: See I don't mind that again.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: If both I was taught because I played a little bit.
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: If both feet leave the ground and you didn't pass
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: a shoot and you come back down on the ground
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: with the ball in your hand, it's a travel right.
- 1:01:09Speaker 8: But it's not like they've these guys are right, they've
- 1:01:12Speaker 8: sort of well, what do you mean?
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: It's I know it's not the redefined things, but they redefined.
- 1:01:18Speaker 5: But my problem with it is not necessarily the jump
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: this is great. The jump might have jump stop basketball.
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: So when you when you have the jump stop, I
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: think that's that should be Okay, Now you need to
- 1:01:29Speaker 5: do something. Now you can do this, and I'm sorry,
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: I won't call it a jump stop anyone. I'll call
- 1:01:33Speaker 5: it the gather step. Yes, okay, So I can be
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: like the youngs. So the gather step the Jalen Brown
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: step through Now it's five steps because he takes two steps,
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: jumps in the ear for a third now he takes
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: like a step and a half to lay it in, Like,
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: how could you possibly defend that? The guy doesn't have
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: to dribble if you don't know how that can be
- 1:01:53Speaker 5: stopped because you have.
- 1:01:53Speaker 6: To gather right, and then you have a pivot father.
- 1:01:57Speaker 6: So the gather is like to you're running full speed
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: and you have a step to gather your momentum and
- 1:02:04Speaker 6: then you have a pivot foot.
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: That used to be like.
- 1:02:08Speaker 10: A layup without a gather.
- 1:02:10Speaker 8: So you have to take a step and a half
- 1:02:13Speaker 8: in our.
- 1:02:14Speaker 6: Day, right, you have your momentum right, and then you're
- 1:02:17Speaker 6: able to that's a gathered step.
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: I know, I know what it is, but like why,
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: like you never used to be able to get away
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: with that?
- 1:02:24Speaker 6: I don't know. I don't know about that. I I
- 1:02:27Speaker 6: I only know the NBA that I watch right, Like
- 1:02:29Speaker 6: I don't I can't speak to that.
- 1:02:30Speaker 8: But with the gathering.
- 1:02:32Speaker 6: Step short, with the gathered step now right, and then
- 1:02:35Speaker 6: you have a pivot foot. If you lift the pivot foot,
- 1:02:38Speaker 6: that it's a travel. It should be a travel, which
- 1:02:41Speaker 6: they they should call that more. I think that the
- 1:02:43Speaker 6: more egregious travels that I see are on step backs
- 1:02:46Speaker 6: like these step back threes. Now you know, guys like
- 1:02:49Speaker 6: Luca or Jason Tatum will take like three steps back
- 1:02:52Speaker 6: and then shoot it like you have side. But they
- 1:02:55Speaker 6: actually called one last night on I think it's on
- 1:02:57Speaker 6: Derek Jones Junior or PJ. Washington. I was stunned, but
- 1:03:00Speaker 6: it was the incorrect call. It was by the rule
- 1:03:03Speaker 6: was that it actually was incorrect because when you jump stop,
- 1:03:06Speaker 6: you both feet are you'revo you don't set a pivot
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: foot yet, right because you jumped up on two feet,
- 1:03:11Speaker 6: so you're actually able to lift either foot and that's legal.
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: See now, I just think that that doesn't get called ever,
- 1:03:18Speaker 5: So when it actually gets called, do you think there
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: was the wrong call?
- 1:03:21Speaker 8: I look at it. They missed the previous ninety nine violations.
- 1:03:25Speaker 8: They just happened to call.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: And I love the innocuous travels that they just overlook. Now,
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: you know you're bringing the ball up right, go over.
- 1:03:34Speaker 8: Lebron.
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: Yeah, you throw it to the guy and he takes
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: three steps as he catches the ball, And like, what
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: is that?
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Like?
- 1:03:41Speaker 8: You just walk, you just travel, You just travel, that's
- 1:03:45Speaker 8: the email.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: I think you just travel with nobody guarding you, like
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: in order to catch the ball and there's no call.
- 1:03:51Speaker 6: But I just some of these calls, like I just
- 1:03:55Speaker 6: don't have a problem with because I'm not here to
- 1:03:57Speaker 6: watch them called traveling fifty times, Like I I.
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: Agree, but I'm here to watch skill.
- 1:04:02Speaker 6: But I agree that there are certain instances that Paul
- 1:04:05Speaker 6: is talking about, like what the Jalen Brown step through
- 1:04:07Speaker 6: that's undefended, and.
- 1:04:09Speaker 5: It's it's clearly legal because he did not get called
- 1:04:11Speaker 5: travel by indefensible but.
- 1:04:13Speaker 6: Indefensible, Yeah, undefensibly indefensible. But if somebody inbounds the ball
- 1:04:19Speaker 6: and it's not they're not picking him up full court
- 1:04:22Speaker 6: and he has like a dribbling violation, or he takes
- 1:04:24Speaker 6: an extra step, like are we really going to every
- 1:04:26Speaker 6: single time we're going to now change the possession?
- 1:04:28Speaker 8: I don't need that.
- 1:04:29Speaker 6: Yes, I'm not here to see the guys in the stripes.
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: I'm here to see Luka, Doncic and Jason Tatum play basketball.
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: I just it makes it hard to defend, you.
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: Know, I think you get an advantage offensively. So here's
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: here's the Peyton Pritchard ready, So this is one two
- 1:04:51Speaker 5: gathering step four. That's four steps, I'm telling you right now,
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: four steps. If that I'm telling you that's legal. Like
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: I know you don't put it it doesn't be, but
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: it doesn't it.
- 1:05:02Speaker 8: But it's not like they didn't change the rule to
- 1:05:04Speaker 8: make that.
- 1:05:04Speaker 6: That is legal. That's legal basketball. You can't take two fold.
- 1:05:09Speaker 6: I'm telling you it's legal. There's people that that post
- 1:05:12Speaker 6: these things on Twitter that are are rules experts, you know,
- 1:05:16Speaker 6: like these like a, uh, what's the guy Pereira or
- 1:05:19Speaker 6: whatever his name is with the NFL, Mike Mike, Mike Pereira,
- 1:05:23Speaker 6: Like those guys exist for the NBA too, And somebody
- 1:05:27Speaker 6: tagged one of them last night and said, didn't Peyton
- 1:05:29Speaker 6: Pritchard travel? And he explains step by step why by
- 1:05:32Speaker 6: the rule that is not a travel right?
- 1:05:34Speaker 8: Like, but he's wrong.
- 1:05:36Speaker 6: Is the points a rule they're not following?
- 1:05:39Speaker 9: It would have been to watch if Pritchard didn't hit
- 1:05:42Speaker 9: that shot and was called for a travel.
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: I just oh, I'm not. This is where I'm back
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: with Evan. I don't want to see those like I
- 1:05:49Speaker 5: didn't want to see that play. Like I don't need
- 1:05:51Speaker 5: Johnny over a Fish's hired whistling down a fifty five
- 1:05:54Speaker 5: foot shot. I don't need that now. The Jalen Brown drives. Yeah,
- 1:05:58Speaker 5: because he's not scoring if you don't him take four steps.
- 1:06:01Speaker 5: He's not like that to me is different. And that's
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: not just Jalen Brown, No, he's just the Celtics. He's
- 1:06:07Speaker 5: the best on the Celtics.
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: It's the paint stuff that really.
- 1:06:13Speaker 6: The step through.
- 1:06:14Speaker 8: Luca takes seven steps every time.
- 1:06:16Speaker 6: Yeah, like that, that whole like shot fake that he does.
- 1:06:19Speaker 6: The feet are all over the place. Yeah. So I'm
- 1:06:22Speaker 6: not like, this is not like a Celtics.
- 1:06:23Speaker 8: This is an NBA thing.
- 1:06:25Speaker 6: No, Luca. I obviously, with him being in the Western
- 1:06:29Speaker 6: Conference and all this, only play him a couple of
- 1:06:30Speaker 6: times a year, and I knew going into the series
- 1:06:33Speaker 6: that he was going to drive me crazy. But that
- 1:06:35Speaker 6: style of basketball that he plays drives me absolutely through
- 1:06:39Speaker 6: a wall. And it's why I'd never like James Harden either,
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: because all they're doing is is foul hunting the entire
- 1:06:44Speaker 6: game that they have the ball, and it's just one
- 1:06:47Speaker 6: guy dribbling the ball for twenty seconds into the shot clock.
- 1:06:50Speaker 6: The one great thing I think about this Celtics team
- 1:06:52Speaker 6: is that they play as a team, like this is
- 1:06:55Speaker 6: a team basketball.
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: I'm going to differ there a little bit there's one
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: thing that drives me crazy with the Celtics. It's their offense.
- 1:07:02Speaker 8: And they do the best offense in the NBA because
- 1:07:05Speaker 8: they have the best player.
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: They do the same thing. I think I think they
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: could be I think they they're dominant, but I think
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: even if against the best player, best teams, they could
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: be even more dominant if they ran, if they ran
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: a little bit of offense, you know, like run Tatum
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: off of off the screens. You know, just like what
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: you just described is a lot of what the Celtics do.
- 1:07:28Speaker 6: You know, I disagree completely. Their ball movement team.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: Three guys just standing on the perimeter, just literally standing.
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: It's called the five offense. I don't like crazy, That's okay.
- 1:07:40Speaker 6: I'm not like trying to say it's not an offense.
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: It's just one. It's individual.
- 1:07:45Speaker 6: You know, Well, they're they're they're an advantage team. So
- 1:07:48Speaker 6: they they play to the numbers in the side of
- 1:07:50Speaker 6: the court and then they drive the ball and they
- 1:07:52Speaker 6: try to get multiple advantages. That's what Joe would call it.
- 1:07:55Speaker 6: You beat one guy, you kick it out. If you
- 1:07:58Speaker 6: have the open three, you take it. If not, you
- 1:07:59Speaker 6: drive it get and that you keep going the shot and.
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: Three guys standing watching the guy drive and they just
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: standing there.
- 1:08:07Speaker 6: But it's so much better than watching Luca dribble the ball,
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: for t saying that.
- 1:08:12Speaker 9: The Celtics pass around the court all day than watching
- 1:08:15Speaker 9: like James Harden's style.
- 1:08:16Speaker 5: Yeah, oh, I can't stand James Harden, but I don't
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: find a lot of similarities between him and Luca.
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: Oh really, I think they're super similar.
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: I think James Harden is constantly pump faking you with
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: the three point line, throwing his ass into you to
- 1:08:27Speaker 5: get to the line. Yeah, I don't think Lucas. I
- 1:08:30Speaker 5: think Luca Isca is the better. I think he's more
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: of the past, first guy to be honest with you.
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: Unfortunately for him, his team can't make shots, so his
- 1:08:38Speaker 5: assist total doesn't.
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: Reflect one of the smartest players much better version.
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: I thought he made twelve ridiculous passes per game and
- 1:08:46Speaker 5: he ended up with like three assists. Nobody now, they
- 1:08:50Speaker 5: all stink like that. The Janes guy was the funny
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: shot fairy high.
- 1:08:55Speaker 8: He stinks what.
- 1:08:56Speaker 5: Derek Lively doesn't have any idea whatsoever, hard to play say,
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: he sanks because he's just a rookie. Yea, But he
- 1:09:02Speaker 5: has no clue how to play bat No, but like
- 1:09:05Speaker 5: these are the guys that are getting these passes they get.
- 1:09:08Speaker 6: I think the biggest you.
- 1:09:09Speaker 5: Can't, you can't the offense thing fed you want to
- 1:09:11Speaker 5: back away from them going to kill you.
- 1:09:15Speaker 8: He's not.
- 1:09:15Speaker 6: He was not on a He's on an island. That
- 1:09:17Speaker 6: take at all. People have been saying it for years.
- 1:09:19Speaker 8: But what happens to those people? Unfortunately they will find
- 1:09:22Speaker 8: him anymore.
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: Now.
- 1:09:23Speaker 6: They won a title with this style of basketball, So
- 1:09:26Speaker 6: now you know that's they.
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: Have a title because Jalen Brown and Tatum are that.
- 1:09:30Speaker 6: Good and I'm just better than That might be true,
- 1:09:33Speaker 6: but yeah, it's uh. I think the biggest thing though
- 1:09:36Speaker 6: with Dallas that has to be kicking themselves is in
- 1:09:39Speaker 6: the Oklahoma City series. They made all of those threes.
- 1:09:42Speaker 6: They shot an incredibly well uh PJ Washington, Derek Jones Junior,
- 1:09:47Speaker 6: all their role players made threes in that Oklahoma City series.
- 1:09:51Speaker 6: Is why they upset Oklahoma City in the second round.
- 1:09:53Speaker 6: And then in this series in the finals, they all
- 1:09:56Speaker 6: of them were ice cold after that one.
- 1:09:58Speaker 5: Game they get like a wide open three repossession, they
- 1:10:01Speaker 5: just never make them.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: Well.
- 1:10:02Speaker 10: They I feel like this MAVs are such a pace team.
- 1:10:05Speaker 9: The Celtics took away two of their biggest threats, their
- 1:10:07Speaker 9: pace and their lob threat, and they didn't have that
- 1:10:10Speaker 9: to really settle in.
- 1:10:11Speaker 10: So those shots just when they don't fall, that's.
- 1:10:13Speaker 9: All they could rely on, because again, the lob threat
- 1:10:17Speaker 9: was gone.
- 1:10:17Speaker 6: With lob threats and Quarner, threes were their whole offense
- 1:10:20Speaker 6: other than Luca being Luca and and the Celtics did
- 1:10:23Speaker 6: a great job.
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: Steven says, enough basketball talk, Let's get to some real
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: Let's get to some real conversation guard talk. Did you
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: all hear about the injury update Reese gave on Cole
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: Stranger's injury seems more serious than the ACL injury that
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: was rumored. Also not a good sign for a guy
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: that was drafted off of his athletic ability. Also, we
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: picked up a UFL guard. No idea who he is,
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: but it's Patriot's News today.
- 1:10:47Speaker 6: They did they They're gonna be Yeah, Aaron Wilson had
- 1:10:51Speaker 6: it last night.
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: But though I didn't see that. The other thing is
- 1:10:54Speaker 5: not really I mean that's Mike Reese has the specific injury,
- 1:11:00Speaker 5: but there's no update there. Like Ian Rappaport, about two
- 1:11:03Speaker 5: months ago said he won't be ready to start the season,
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: and gered Mayo can confirm that like six weeks ago.
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: I just wonder if there's a job waiting for him
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: when he does get back. I mean it's cities. Oh yeah,
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: and you want to leave city.
- 1:11:14Speaker 6: I'm still intrigued by that.
- 1:11:16Speaker 5: Or when you move, you know, if the guy wants
- 1:11:18Speaker 5: five minutes of football, I think that's the whole best
- 1:11:21Speaker 5: five theory.
- 1:11:22Speaker 8: Yeah, and I'm intrigued by that.
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: James Pettigrew, the most interesting Patriots fan of the world, says,
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: I'm with Fred. I'm more of a hunter than a gatherer.
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: Real men dribble talk about the gathering move. Oh, you
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: get it. It's a nice sport you guys have here.
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: You can't even figure out the rules.
- 1:11:38Speaker 6: It's great if.
- 1:11:42Speaker 8: You can show me a rule book that they changed.
- 1:11:45Speaker 5: They changed the definition of traveling because clearly there's a
- 1:11:49Speaker 5: different interpretation, and I agree with most of it, Like
- 1:11:52Speaker 5: step backs. I don't think people want to see travels
- 1:11:55Speaker 5: on step but it's traveling, you have to like just
- 1:11:58Speaker 5: because they don't call it doesn't mean it's not technically traveling.
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: If you're going backwards, you can take as many steps
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: as you want.
- 1:12:03Speaker 5: Or sideways, like you can clear yourself from a defender,
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: but just by making a fake one way, just stepping
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: the other way. What's called a euro step, well, it's
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: called a travel jasz Buro step is kind of.
- 1:12:16Speaker 10: A eurosteps to travel. You heard it here first. I
- 1:12:20Speaker 10: would have been screwed because that was my thing.
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: Jasper in Somerville, is there's something Patriots esque about this
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: Celtics team? Are they kind of do your job? Missoula
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: is sort of on the Belichick spectrum and perhaps other spectrums.
- 1:12:34Speaker 5: I do not think there's much comparisons between Missoula and Belichick.
- 1:12:38Speaker 9: I would say Brad Stevens is at the level where
- 1:12:41Speaker 9: I trust anything he does.
- 1:12:43Speaker 6: And I wouldn't question you an NBA Kenny.
- 1:12:46Speaker 10: He sees basketball how I see basketball?
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: GM Danny h get him enough step? Does he get
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: enough love?
- 1:12:53Speaker 10: A very nice call this morning, and.
- 1:12:59Speaker 9: Horford gave him a nice shout out to about a
- 1:13:01Speaker 9: conversation when he first signed him.
- 1:13:05Speaker 6: Really picking Jason and Jalen those two number three picks
- 1:13:09Speaker 6: that was and those weren't no brainers, Like it wasn't consensus,
- 1:13:14Speaker 6: especially Jalen really wasn't a consensus and they traded out
- 1:13:18Speaker 6: of the number one pick.
- 1:13:18Speaker 8: I would give them just as much credit for the
- 1:13:20Speaker 8: trade with Tatum to Yeah.
- 1:13:22Speaker 6: The trade for Datum was great, but Tatum was going
- 1:13:24Speaker 6: to be a top three pick one way or the other.
- 1:13:26Speaker 6: Ye when on draft and most Celtics fans, probably myself included,
- 1:13:31Speaker 6: wanted Jamal Murray it with that Jalen Brown pick, and
- 1:13:33Speaker 6: they picked Jalen Brown instead. Now Murray is a great
- 1:13:36Speaker 6: player too, but Jalen is a much more.
- 1:13:39Speaker 10: People dominant Jason Tatum, Yeah.
- 1:13:42Speaker 8: He's much They wanted markel ful one trade, thank god.
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: So speaking of the draft in the NBA, there, the
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: NBA is making their draft a two night event. Now,
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: isn't the only interest the top five picks and after
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: that it doesn't matter? Well how are they going to
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: get two nights on too?
- 1:14:00Speaker 6: So yes and no, I mean one of the big
- 1:14:02Speaker 6: things now though with the NBA, and this is very
- 1:14:04Speaker 6: bellichicking in is uh because of the new salary cap
- 1:14:08Speaker 6: system in the NBA, draft picks are going to become
- 1:14:11Speaker 6: a lot more valuable, uh here soon because the cheap
- 1:14:15Speaker 6: cost controlled asset.
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: Well, they're going to become more Are the players going
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: to be anything.
- 1:14:19Speaker 6: Players not going to change, right, I don't know, but
- 1:14:21Speaker 6: there are guys that have been second round picks that
- 1:14:23Speaker 6: have gone on to be fantastic players. In the NBA.
- 1:14:26Speaker 6: It's undrafted guys that have gone on to be you know,
- 1:14:28Speaker 6: at least rotation guys. But with the new aprons and
- 1:14:31Speaker 6: all that stuff, with the salary cap, it's all nerd stuff.
- 1:14:34Speaker 6: I won't bog it down, but that that stuff is
- 1:14:37Speaker 6: going to matter now. Hitting in the draft is going
- 1:14:39Speaker 6: to matter a little bit more in the NBA because
- 1:14:41Speaker 6: you're going to need the cheap contracts because you're not
- 1:14:43Speaker 6: going to be able to fill out the roster with
- 1:14:46Speaker 6: expensive contracts across the board anymore.
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: Okay, Alan writes in this show has got me through
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: high school, college, my first marriage, my first divorce, and
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: a lot of life and career challenges that being said
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: to get caught up on shows. To hear mister Pirillo
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: say that he doesn't go to live concerts prompts me
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: to throw the red flag. I don't consider myself the
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: obligatory expert listener, but I will be the audio crew
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: chief on site at Fenway for Lana del Rey and
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: Hoodie and the blowfish this week is it's my first
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: time in Boston and I hope to catch the Celtics
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: parade while in town. I welcome Paul or any of
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: the crew to stop by front of house and say hello,
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: and I would be happy to give them behind the
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: scenes tour to show what our industry is all about.
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: Hashtag bring Alex.
- 1:15:34Speaker 9: I would love to see la Rey want to bring
- 1:15:37Speaker 9: Alex Well. Me and my sister are huge Lona fans.
- 1:15:41Speaker 9: My email address is Alexandra f at craft se dot com.
- 1:15:44Speaker 10: Say that again in casey Alexandra f at craft se
- 1:15:48Speaker 10: dot com.
- 1:15:49Speaker 3: Big Oh.
- 1:15:52Speaker 9: Darius Rutgers my guy too, But I don't want to
- 1:15:56Speaker 9: be I don't want.
- 1:15:56Speaker 6: To be about it. He did wagon Wheel as a.
- 1:16:06Speaker 7: Yeah that's a that's a woodshed song.
- 1:16:08Speaker 10: To us, that's not that is a woodshed song. Shut
- 1:16:11Speaker 10: it down for.
- 1:16:14Speaker 6: Their friend.
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: Back in the day. You know, this is my college days.
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: Woodshed was a great place. I was still awesome.
- 1:16:29Speaker 5: Where Yeah, very me too.
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: I almost got picked up by like an older woman
- 1:16:37Speaker 4: there one time, which it was like herd her friends.
- 1:16:42Speaker 10: But it's like an older mix of people. I was on.
- 1:16:45Speaker 9: So I'm on a boucherette trip and there's a woman
- 1:16:47Speaker 9: next to us, and it's a husband and wife. Actually
- 1:16:49Speaker 9: they weren't married, which I later found out complicated, just as.
- 1:16:56Speaker 10: The quick at side.
- 1:16:56Speaker 9: The guy told us it was like, how many of
- 1:16:58Speaker 9: you girls are married and engaged? And then he we met,
- 1:17:01Speaker 9: we were both married before, and then we met and
- 1:17:03Speaker 9: now we're both.
- 1:17:03Speaker 10: Divorced, and it was like, oh wow, okay.
- 1:17:05Speaker 9: But this woman barely keep her eyes open. She was
- 1:17:09Speaker 9: so inebriated. But she's just picking jams all night. Couldn't
- 1:17:12Speaker 9: keep her eyes closed. But it's the best mix of
- 1:17:15Speaker 9: like old and super young, and we.
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: Just a lot of town tourists. It's a great, great place.
- 1:17:21Speaker 7: It's like an old barn. It's like an old barn
- 1:17:24Speaker 7: next to.
- 1:17:26Speaker 8: Last time you were there.
- 1:17:28Speaker 7: I haven't been there in a few years now, but
- 1:17:30Speaker 7: but not too long.
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: I mean, it's it's it's feels like no parties there.
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: The man that bought shot is older than you, but
- 1:17:39Speaker 4: it's really small and and he was older than you.
- 1:17:44Speaker 9: The guy was like in his seventies, asked us if
- 1:17:47Speaker 9: we wanted shots.
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: Really yeah, And there used to be a of the day,
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: like if it was a Friday, like the line would
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: be around the corner. But there's a restaurant attached, and
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: it's a nice rite, and so if you had dinner there.
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: There was another used to be another entrance you could
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: go in without paying cover and waiting in line. That's
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: a little tiss before they I don't know, but this
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: is years ago. I don't know if it's still the same.
- 1:18:09Speaker 10: I think so. I think it is because there was
- 1:18:11Speaker 10: supposed to be.
- 1:18:12Speaker 9: I was prepared for a cover at least the guys
- 1:18:14Speaker 9: just yeah.
- 1:18:17Speaker 6: So many humble brags today.
- 1:18:18Speaker 7: I was raised, came back being a girl, right.
- 1:18:23Speaker 8: I didn't have to pay uh, I mean yeah, it's tough.
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: Back in the day when you in Massachusetts, when you
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: could have drink, specially you'd have ladies drink half off
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: to get the women incause then the men would commit ladies.
- 1:18:36Speaker 10: No one wants a sausage feste.
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: Burton, Burton, Burton Island. This is going back a few episodes,
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: he says, talking about my flawed memory. You guys were
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: talking baseball, and somehow Walter Johnson came up and Fred
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: noted how tall he was. This puzzled Paul, and it
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: would have me as well, since Walter Johnson's caristarted in
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: nineteen oh seven.
- 1:19:01Speaker 8: That was the joke.
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure Fred was thinking of Randy Johnson, now
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: he was tall, but I was thinking of Walter the
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: train Johnson, I think it was.
- 1:19:11Speaker 8: I think it was big train, big train, big train.
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: But he slung that book like a slingshot. How do
- 1:19:18Speaker 3: you know? Because they have all read books.
- 1:19:21Speaker 9: You don't see they have film of Walt Black and wund.
- 1:19:25Speaker 3: Yeah, so I might. I was not talking about ram listeners.
- 1:19:29Speaker 8: I'm putting a challenge out.
- 1:19:30Speaker 5: I want video of Walter Johnson striking somebody out.
- 1:19:34Speaker 6: And Randy Johnson's a photographer.
- 1:19:35Speaker 7: Now have you seen him.
- 1:19:36Speaker 4: He's like a professional sports photography, really the sidelines of
- 1:19:39Speaker 4: NFL games and stuff.
- 1:19:40Speaker 7: Yeah, it's bizarre, bizarre.
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: And he is like six ten. He's really random.
- 1:19:44Speaker 7: The Big Unit, the Big Unit, the.
- 1:19:45Speaker 6: Big Unit, the one and only. My nickname doesn't hold up.
- 1:19:49Speaker 7: No, Yeah, that's that's been canceled.
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: Yeah, Rich in New York City. I wanted to write
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: in and thank everyone for the Brady Night. I remember
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: watching the Larry Bird Night on team when I was
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: a kid, and seeing that Brady Knight in person was
- 1:20:02Speaker 3: a once in a lifetime event. I enjoyed every minute.
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: Go Celtics. By the way, besides the non traveling calls,
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: the NBA should not have gotten rid of the hand
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: check rules.
- 1:20:13Speaker 6: Okay, what is that?
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I disagree on that one.
- 1:20:21Speaker 8: Every time you put a hand on a guy, they
- 1:20:22Speaker 8: would call Yeah.
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: No, as long as you're not pushing, you know, extend
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: the arm.
- 1:20:28Speaker 6: I mean you got This is my favorite part of
- 1:20:30Speaker 6: the show. It was us arguing about rules rules, have
- 1:20:35Speaker 6: a good ball movement or not.
- 1:20:38Speaker 8: I stay out of it. Don't put me in the
- 1:20:40Speaker 8: offense one. I hear you saying anything negative about the
- 1:20:44Speaker 8: Celtics out, I.
- 1:20:47Speaker 6: Feel myself green teaming on in those instances, and I
- 1:20:50Speaker 6: apologize for that I do, but you know that's that's
- 1:20:53Speaker 6: the way they play offense and they just want the titles.
- 1:20:55Speaker 4: I think they believe it or not. What's going on
- 1:20:58Speaker 4: in the Celtics next year though? Do we got like contracts
- 1:21:02Speaker 4: same team and they can Do you think that they
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: can get Porzingis's body to be healthy because it looks
- 1:21:07Speaker 4: like a ridiculous body.
- 1:21:08Speaker 6: It's crazy because they did everything in their power. They
- 1:21:12Speaker 6: they coasted him all regular season where he didn't he
- 1:21:16Speaker 6: didn't play a ton of back to backs. Anytime that
- 1:21:18Speaker 6: he had a tweak, it was like, let's shut him
- 1:21:20Speaker 6: down for ten games. Like they did everything they could
- 1:21:23Speaker 6: to have him healthy for the playoffs, and he still
- 1:21:25Speaker 6: got hurt in the playoffs. So I don't know, And it's.
- 1:21:27Speaker 9: Going to be harder as Al gets older and older,
- 1:21:29Speaker 9: because I also can't take that load so well.
- 1:21:33Speaker 10: They do center to.
- 1:21:34Speaker 6: The injury point of it. When they do play some
- 1:21:38Speaker 6: of these teams that have true centers or true big men,
- 1:21:41Speaker 6: then having a thirty nine year old Al Horford as
- 1:21:44Speaker 6: your starting center is going to start to matter a
- 1:21:46Speaker 6: little bit more. They just didn't really run into those
- 1:21:48Speaker 6: teams this time around. But you know, if they have Embiid,
- 1:21:51Speaker 6: if they have Giannis who can obviously attack the pain,
- 1:21:54Speaker 6: if they play yokicch in the finals, like those things
- 1:21:56Speaker 6: are going to start to matter. Whereas in this run
- 1:21:59Speaker 6: they didn't necessary run into a dominant, paid team like
- 1:22:02Speaker 6: that that that could take advantage.
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: So let's go to the phones. Melvin's in Tennessee. What's up, Melvin?
- 1:22:10Speaker 8: What's up y'all?
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: Hey Melvin?
- 1:22:14Speaker 8: Yes there he is.
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: What's up?
- 1:22:16Speaker 11: Okay? So I was just going to talk about I
- 1:22:19Speaker 11: was just talking about the Celtics obviously, so like all
- 1:22:22Speaker 11: these teams right on the cuffs before they broke through
- 1:22:24Speaker 11: last night of making these important decisions and getting over
- 1:22:28Speaker 11: officer of the Patriots to do it several times. But
- 1:22:31Speaker 11: switching agains kind of to a scene that were similar,
- 1:22:34Speaker 11: like San Francisco in the NFL. Do you think kind
- 1:22:40Speaker 11: of window they should be trying to give Brandon I
- 1:22:44Speaker 11: used that thirty million dollar contract that he's looking for
- 1:22:47Speaker 11: because at one aspect, obviously it's a lot of money.
- 1:22:50Speaker 11: But you don't want to get this close because I've
- 1:22:53Speaker 11: been probably one of the best teams for the last
- 1:22:55Speaker 11: probably fifteen years that probably hadn't won a title. But
- 1:22:59Speaker 11: would you kind of see what you need to do
- 1:23:01Speaker 11: to get him a contract so you can keep this window.
- 1:23:04Speaker 11: You don't want to be a team like possibly the
- 1:23:06Speaker 11: Fields that just had their window. Possibly they just missed
- 1:23:09Speaker 11: that chance to win that title.
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: So no, I hear you, so, so would you give
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: you the money? Or we're talking about this couple shows ago?
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: Is it too soon? You know?
- 1:23:18Speaker 7: For the Patriots?
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: For the Patriots, you know, because you've got to see
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: what you have in Drake May first to see if
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: it's worth investing in that high price wide receiver. I
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: don't know.
- 1:23:27Speaker 4: That's kind of how I feel now. And I don't
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: know if that's just you get lazy or what. But
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: did you just get to this point You're like, all right,
- 1:23:33Speaker 4: these are the guys that we have right now, Let's
- 1:23:35Speaker 4: see how it goes, and you know, start to try
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: to fill holes. But I thought he was talking about
- 1:23:39Speaker 4: a San Francisco should do it like.
- 1:23:40Speaker 8: San San Francisco.
- 1:23:41Speaker 4: That's what I think you're saying, you know, And I
- 1:23:44Speaker 4: mean I kind of think yeah, because I don't like
- 1:23:46Speaker 4: I think Deebo is the name, but I don't know
- 1:23:48Speaker 4: if Deebo's really the biggest piece of it.
- 1:23:51Speaker 8: I think it's gonna decline reasonably quickly.
- 1:23:54Speaker 6: For Yeah, I feel like Brandon Nyuk's air best receiver.
- 1:23:57Speaker 6: McCaffrey is their best offensive player, But in terms of receivers,
- 1:24:01Speaker 6: I don't think Debo and George Kittle are what they
- 1:24:03Speaker 6: used to be, even Kittle has slowed down a little
- 1:24:06Speaker 6: bit and has had some injuries. So Brandon Ayuk is
- 1:24:10Speaker 6: their best player on offense outside of Christian McCaffrey, and
- 1:24:14Speaker 6: they have Rock Purty on that rookie contract for another
- 1:24:16Speaker 6: couple more years, so I don't see. That's the whole thing.
- 1:24:20Speaker 6: When we talk about Ayuk for the Patriots, I'm like,
- 1:24:23Speaker 6: why are the Niners trading Brandon Ayuk? But it does
- 1:24:26Speaker 6: doesn't make any sense from a San Francisco standpoint, and
- 1:24:29Speaker 6: we saw it. You know, he's talking about the Celtics
- 1:24:31Speaker 6: and the team that I agree that the Niners are
- 1:24:33Speaker 6: probably there. They're a pretty good comp for the Celtics
- 1:24:36Speaker 6: over the last couple of years. We're super talented team.
- 1:24:39Speaker 6: But just like the Celtics, like maybe the Niners next year,
- 1:24:41Speaker 6: don't play Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl and then
- 1:24:44Speaker 6: it becomes their year to win it. You know. So
- 1:24:47Speaker 6: if I'm the Niners, I'm sticking to your your formula
- 1:24:50Speaker 6: right now.
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: I keep trying go back to that one.
- 1:24:53Speaker 8: I would too.
- 1:24:54Speaker 7: How security you think Purty is? I mean, do you
- 1:24:55Speaker 7: think that that's like.
- 1:24:59Speaker 8: Shanahan?
- 1:24:59Speaker 6: I think it's very impatient with I do wonder And
- 1:25:02Speaker 6: obviously him and McVeigh are really good friends. McVeigh finally
- 1:25:06Speaker 6: won one with Stafford. He got rid of the you know,
- 1:25:09Speaker 6: the system quarterback and the fine quarterback with Jared Goff,
- 1:25:13Speaker 6: And I don't know if it will happen this year,
- 1:25:15Speaker 6: next year, or whatever. But five years from now, if
- 1:25:17Speaker 6: Kyle Shanahan still doesn't have a Super Bowl, is he
- 1:25:20Speaker 6: gonna say, I'll take two years of, you know, kind
- 1:25:23Speaker 6: of what the Jets have been trying to do with
- 1:25:25Speaker 6: Aaron Rodgers. I'll just I'll take two years of some
- 1:25:27Speaker 6: aging Hall of famer and win a Super Bowl with
- 1:25:30Speaker 6: this guy because he prop perty can't get me over
- 1:25:32Speaker 6: the It's probably.
- 1:25:33Speaker 4: Too simple, simplistic of an argument, but I mean, if
- 1:25:35Speaker 4: you were going to simplify it, it just seems like
- 1:25:37Speaker 4: you've been there a couple of times, and it's been
- 1:25:39Speaker 4: the quarterback, you know, that's been the piece that can't
- 1:25:42Speaker 4: quite play great right at the end to get you
- 1:25:44Speaker 4: over the top.
- 1:25:45Speaker 7: I just I wonder how patient they'll be with him.
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: Alex writes in Where's Alex from North Rally, North Carolina.
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: Very excited that the Celtics got over the hump to
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: win the finals. That was a huge relief, like Evan said,
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: because we are aware of how close they got and
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: what happened last finals. My question is, are the Celtics
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: a model for how the Patriots could follow a path
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: to win a championship. They drafted young players, let them
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: play early, and surrounded Jalen and Jason with good enough
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: supporting cast over time. While not exactly the same, what
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: are some takeaways? Are the Celtics a team that the
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: Patriots could follow?
- 1:26:23Speaker 5: I think the Celtics model is a team, is a
- 1:26:26Speaker 5: model that any team would want to get some good
- 1:26:31Speaker 5: players and then get more good players. Like I don't
- 1:26:33Speaker 5: really think it's a secret. I think you hit on
- 1:26:36Speaker 5: two number three overall picks, and I give we talked
- 1:26:40Speaker 5: about twenty minutes ago. Danny Ainge all the credit in
- 1:26:42Speaker 5: the world for that, But I think any team would
- 1:26:45Speaker 5: want to get as many good players as they can't.
- 1:26:47Speaker 6: That's what the Celtics did. Yeah, I feel like the
- 1:26:49Speaker 6: Celtics too early on did a nice job, even though
- 1:26:52Speaker 6: it didn't work out with Kyrie here obviously, they did
- 1:26:55Speaker 6: a nice job of not putting too much on the
- 1:26:57Speaker 6: Jay's plates early on in their careers. Where they had
- 1:27:00Speaker 6: Al Horford, they had Kyrie Irving. They even had guys
- 1:27:03Speaker 6: like Marcus mar and Terry Rozier who played a lot
- 1:27:06Speaker 6: of minutes early on in their careers, and they ended
- 1:27:09Speaker 6: up arriving sooner than everybody expected when they went to
- 1:27:12Speaker 6: the conference finals against the Cabs, but it wasn't because
- 1:27:16Speaker 6: that was the plan. The plan was to play Kyrie
- 1:27:19Speaker 6: and Gordon Hayward and Al Horford and the veteran players
- 1:27:23Speaker 6: and have the Jays b the supplement, and it just
- 1:27:26Speaker 6: flip flopped on itself. So I could see that being
- 1:27:29Speaker 6: a little bit of a model with Drake may Is.
- 1:27:32Speaker 6: You got to have the veteran foundation around him to
- 1:27:35Speaker 6: be able to get it over.
- 1:27:36Speaker 9: And you had to get those guys to buy into
- 1:27:38Speaker 9: because any one of the guys along the way could
- 1:27:40Speaker 9: have pulled to Kyrie and gotten frustrated when it didn't
- 1:27:43Speaker 9: work out and bounced to Brooklyn or wherever.
- 1:27:45Speaker 10: You know what I mean.
- 1:27:46Speaker 8: And that especially in that league.
- 1:27:48Speaker 9: That's a huge intangible in the NBA, and sometimes you
- 1:27:51Speaker 9: see it in the NFL too.
- 1:27:52Speaker 10: It's a lot harder for these players to kind of
- 1:27:55Speaker 10: dictate how things play out.
- 1:27:56Speaker 9: But it's as these guys' profiles race and as egos
- 1:28:01Speaker 9: grow the more you're in the league, sometimes you get
- 1:28:04Speaker 9: frustrated and you do just.
- 1:28:05Speaker 10: Kind of poop in your own bed for lack of
- 1:28:09Speaker 10: a better fra.
- 1:28:12Speaker 5: Yeah, well I think that, like I said, I think
- 1:28:16Speaker 5: any team would want to do it, Like, I think
- 1:28:19Speaker 5: every team is trying to do it that way.
- 1:28:21Speaker 8: I just think it's ridiculously hard.
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: Let's draft two future Hall of famers, Okay, let's go,
- 1:28:25Speaker 3: and then we're going to trade for a couple other
- 1:28:28Speaker 3: like proven veteran stars like Drew Holliday and Posingis were stars. Yeah,
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: Like it's I think any team would want to do that. Sure,
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: it's really hard to hit on all of that, right,
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: want it's just like the forty nine.
- 1:28:42Speaker 10: But the Celtics didn't hit on it for a long time.
- 1:28:44Speaker 10: I felt like they were cursed with how things they couldn't.
- 1:28:48Speaker 5: Get over, they couldn't get but the manner in which
- 1:28:51Speaker 5: they were they were collecting talent. And you know, Evan,
- 1:28:54Speaker 5: you brought up like that that trip We're gonna stick
- 1:28:56Speaker 5: with the Celtics, that that trip program. I heard Ryan
- 1:29:01Speaker 5: Rossella talk about this, and I think he made a
- 1:29:03Speaker 5: really good point.
- 1:29:03Speaker 6: They were way ahead of schedule, Like they weren't just rooky.
- 1:29:07Speaker 5: You know, when when Haywood goes down, you weren't expecting
- 1:29:09Speaker 5: to be that successful.
- 1:29:11Speaker 8: And it almost looks like at the time.
- 1:29:15Speaker 5: You sort of think of it as well, these guys
- 1:29:17Speaker 5: are disappointing. They can't get over the.
- 1:29:19Speaker 8: Hump bla blah blah blah blah.
- 1:29:20Speaker 5: But really they shouldn't. They were way ahead of schedule.
- 1:29:24Speaker 5: They shouldn't have been that far.
- 1:29:25Speaker 6: Yeah, this was always go back to the Green teamers.
- 1:29:27Speaker 6: There's always our argument of when people said that the
- 1:29:30Speaker 6: Celtics weren't underachieving by not winning, we would say, well,
- 1:29:34Speaker 6: MJ didn't win to year seven, Lebron didn't win to
- 1:29:37Speaker 6: year X, you know, so far and so forth, and
- 1:29:40Speaker 6: the Jays that them winning at twenty seven and twenty
- 1:29:43Speaker 6: six is when they're supposed to start winning.
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: Didn't Larry win in year two?
- 1:29:46Speaker 6: Yeah? And Magic one too.
- 1:29:48Speaker 5: And they also they also ignore the fact that he's
- 1:29:52Speaker 5: been he's younger, Like the age only comes into play
- 1:29:55Speaker 5: when you talk about the years in the league, right, Like,
- 1:29:57Speaker 5: I hate it all, But to your point, the Green
- 1:30:00Speaker 5: teamers they want it both ways because they thought they
- 1:30:04Speaker 5: were the best in the league when they weren't, and
- 1:30:07Speaker 5: then afterwards they said you'd be too hard on him
- 1:30:08Speaker 5: for saying they were supposed to win, like the Bridgies
- 1:30:11Speaker 5: were the best team ever according to the Green Teams
- 1:30:13Speaker 5: different you know, Jay crowder Gotta love Jay crowder Man.
- 1:30:16Speaker 6: He's got rocks in his pockets. Yeah, whatever, that's different.
- 1:30:19Speaker 6: But Magic one, Magic one with Kareem early, but he
- 1:30:23Speaker 6: got Kareem right right, So that was different. But I
- 1:30:26Speaker 6: feel like a lot of people in that league, it
- 1:30:29Speaker 6: does take them, like to Paul's point, not age, but
- 1:30:32Speaker 6: like seasons in the NBA seven to get to the
- 1:30:35Speaker 6: point where you win a title. So the Celtics were
- 1:30:38Speaker 6: way ahead of schedule. I mean, I remember Tatum dunking
- 1:30:41Speaker 6: on Lebron in Game seven in the Eastern Conference Finals,
- 1:30:43Speaker 6: and you thought that they were already arriving and it
- 1:30:45Speaker 6: was crazy.
- 1:30:46Speaker 5: But the reason why I take a little exception to it,
- 1:30:49Speaker 5: like Michael Jordan didn't win until year seven. Do you
- 1:30:52Speaker 5: think if Michael Jordan didn't have to go through the
- 1:30:54Speaker 5: Celtics and the Pistons that he would have won before
- 1:30:56Speaker 5: year seven?
- 1:30:58Speaker 3: Probably?
- 1:30:58Speaker 6: Maybe? Yeah? Probably?
- 1:30:59Speaker 5: Like how many years did Michael Jordan not win it
- 1:31:01Speaker 5: when he had the best team?
- 1:31:03Speaker 8: That's fair The answer to that would be zero.
- 1:31:05Speaker 6: But do you think the Celtics were actually better than
- 1:31:07Speaker 6: Golden State in twenty twenty two?
- 1:31:09Speaker 5: In twenty twenty two, No, I don't. I think that's
- 1:31:11Speaker 5: a that's a Celtics green teamer. I don't think they
- 1:31:15Speaker 5: were misjudgment. They think they were better than them. They
- 1:31:17Speaker 5: think they blew that series. They were down by double
- 1:31:20Speaker 5: digits in the fourth quarter of five out of the
- 1:31:23Speaker 5: six games. No, I don't think the better team won
- 1:31:25Speaker 5: that series.
- 1:31:26Speaker 3: I agree Wan and Monterey. First off, congratulations Celtics. Why
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: did Evan dress like he played on the because he
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: did the Megan The Meghan jersey rules should apply for
- 1:31:39Speaker 3: fans who dressed like they played in the game. Just
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: a T shirt or the hat is enough? Not both?
- 1:31:43Speaker 6: Oh? Both is definitely that's fine, definitely warranted.
- 1:31:49Speaker 3: I think it was funny when when these teams win
- 1:31:51Speaker 3: championships they come out with the T shirt and the hat.
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: That's what the fans are expected to wear.
- 1:31:56Speaker 6: You know, I am not ashamed.
- 1:31:58Speaker 7: Yeah, even one thing. You walked in exactly what you're doing.
- 1:32:03Speaker 8: Alex wanted him to wear goggles too.
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: I wouldn't come.
- 1:32:06Speaker 10: I would have come Downston Champagne.
- 1:32:08Speaker 8: To work today that you were at that party last night,
- 1:32:12Speaker 8: to the end court too.
- 1:32:13Speaker 6: No, I wasn't invited. No I tried.
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: Is that where the after party was?
- 1:32:17Speaker 5: Now?
- 1:32:18Speaker 8: The I don't know where they were Big Night Live.
- 1:32:20Speaker 3: So obviously the NBA Finals don't like the super Bowl
- 1:32:23Speaker 3: because one game week build up. But do they have
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: like a post game party that the winning team puts on.
- 1:32:29Speaker 6: Well, so the Celtics were at Big Night Live, which
- 1:32:31Speaker 6: is in the Garden. Okay, So it's like attached to
- 1:32:34Speaker 6: the garden on the outside.
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: And like VIPs get invitation enough, you buy tickets to have.
- 1:32:39Speaker 6: You been to the garden with the new entrance from
- 1:32:42Speaker 6: the back yeah yeah, so with the big stairs, so
- 1:32:45Speaker 6: there's banners on the leg. Yeah, and then Guy restaurant. Yeah,
- 1:32:48Speaker 6: Big Night Live is in that complex okay. And so
- 1:32:50Speaker 6: they just went from the court to locker room to
- 1:32:53Speaker 6: Big Night Live and then apparently.
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: Back to gets to go to that.
- 1:32:57Speaker 6: Just like friends family.
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: So it's not like Patriots they have like.
- 1:33:02Speaker 6: This is like this is this is like the actual team. Okay,
- 1:33:07Speaker 6: you know, friends family.
- 1:33:09Speaker 3: It's a little different. So they let loose a little
- 1:33:11Speaker 3: bit more problem.
- 1:33:12Speaker 6: Yeah, some of the events.
- 1:33:13Speaker 8: Now they're going out of Miami.
- 1:33:14Speaker 6: Now they're going out of Miami and then they're coming
- 1:33:16Speaker 6: back just for fun party parties.
- 1:33:20Speaker 5: In order to get them to come to the parade.
- 1:33:22Speaker 5: They're going to give them a trip to Miami, so
- 1:33:24Speaker 5: to make sure they come back.
- 1:33:25Speaker 6: That's my guess.
- 1:33:26Speaker 3: Oh that's gonna be wild on the strip. Yeah. Are
- 1:33:30Speaker 3: they going to be at the what's what's that? Uh
- 1:33:34Speaker 3: Fontaine Hotel to Blue font and Blue Blue Live.
- 1:33:38Speaker 10: Uh, what's the other one? The Komodo Lounge is a
- 1:33:41Speaker 10: big one.
- 1:33:41Speaker 7: Yeah, South Beach, Alex.
- 1:33:43Speaker 8: Yeah, you're talking about partying.
- 1:33:47Speaker 6: I was actually I was a little surprised that, I
- 1:33:50Speaker 6: guess maybe is a shorter a little bit of a
- 1:33:51Speaker 6: shorter flight, but their Vegas crew, so I was a
- 1:33:54Speaker 6: little surprised that they picked Miami over Vegas.
- 1:33:58Speaker 10: Here on the East coast though it's a flight quick
- 1:34:01Speaker 10: three hours.
- 1:34:02Speaker 6: They love the Encore Vegas.
- 1:34:06Speaker 8: Or here here. That's what I was surprised that. I'm surprised.
- 1:34:11Speaker 6: Well, they go to the club upstairs and they got VIPs,
- 1:34:15Speaker 6: not that I would know. I'm not stalker or anything,
- 1:34:18Speaker 6: you know.
- 1:34:19Speaker 3: Anthony writes in Hi, Deuce, just wanted to shout you
- 1:34:22Speaker 3: out since you are completely absent from the basketball talk
- 1:34:26Speaker 3: to ignore Deuce yet again. The biggest pet peeve I
- 1:34:29Speaker 3: have with traveling dribbling is that every single player now
- 1:34:32Speaker 3: commits a double dribble every time they touch the ball.
- 1:34:35Speaker 3: Back in my day, putting your hand under the ball
- 1:34:38Speaker 3: or wind milling could be called a double dribble. Every
- 1:34:41Speaker 3: time it was called carrying. Yeah, Evan, as a man
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: of a similar age and potentially similar musical taste. Have
- 1:34:49Speaker 3: you ever heard of State Radio. They're a Boston band
- 1:34:52Speaker 3: that I love. Have seen them numerous times, and they
- 1:34:55Speaker 3: put on a great show. Just curious because they're local,
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: and as I recall, you were the only live music
- 1:35:00Speaker 3: enjoyer in the room.
- 1:35:02Speaker 10: That's not true what they were. Their lead singer was
- 1:35:06Speaker 10: the lead singer of the band Dispatch.
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: Yes, that clears it up in general.
- 1:35:10Speaker 6: Yeah, so we were. We were my friend group were
- 1:35:12Speaker 6: a big big Dispatch State Radio.
- 1:35:15Speaker 7: All those people back in your Hippi days, huh, those
- 1:35:17Speaker 7: are back in my day.
- 1:35:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I used to love. It's not the music. I
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: don't it's the crowds, right, It's just not I don't
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: want to deal with humanity the way I used to.
- 1:35:27Speaker 3: You know, people, it's just like crowded and you're in
- 1:35:32Speaker 3: my way.
- 1:35:33Speaker 4: You gotta get in, you gotta get out, hungry, you
- 1:35:35Speaker 4: got to get food.
- 1:35:36Speaker 9: Yeah, my little sister almost got trampled at a concert
- 1:35:38Speaker 9: last summer.
- 1:35:39Speaker 10: Yeah, I've taken a step back since I love.
- 1:35:42Speaker 6: All all the emails about about the NBA rules that
- 1:35:45Speaker 6: we're gonna we're gonna start something.
- 1:35:48Speaker 7: Can we do some hockey rules because I could participate.
- 1:35:50Speaker 5: Yeah, And I do feel like, not to take you
- 1:35:54Speaker 5: aside here, I do feel like the NBA is sort
- 1:35:57Speaker 5: of in the you know, in the crosshairs more than
- 1:36:00Speaker 5: the other sports. There's a lot of things that you
- 1:36:03Speaker 5: used to not be able to do in sports that
- 1:36:05Speaker 5: you can do, like you know, the hockey's much different.
- 1:36:07Speaker 3: Yeah, no more finish your check as in football. There's
- 1:36:10Speaker 3: a lot of things you used to be able to
- 1:36:11Speaker 3: do that you can't do, like hitting the quarterback right.
- 1:36:14Speaker 8: Yeah, that's another launch.
- 1:36:16Speaker 6: It's an example.
- 1:36:17Speaker 3: But they actually changed the rules the NBA. They didn't
- 1:36:20Speaker 3: formally change the rule. They just stop calling is right,
- 1:36:23Speaker 3: you know, it's like started with.
- 1:36:27Speaker 6: David handtrack rules is formally checked.
- 1:36:29Speaker 3: Well.
- 1:36:29Speaker 4: I just have to say, though, as a casual basketball
- 1:36:31Speaker 4: fan who my son played this year, like watching some
- 1:36:34Speaker 4: of it, it's hard to like remember, like wait, what
- 1:36:37Speaker 4: is the how many steps can you Because if you
- 1:36:39Speaker 4: watch one of those games, it's like everything you laid
- 1:36:41Speaker 4: out where it's like step step step step steps. You know,
- 1:36:44Speaker 4: that's different hard to he's twelve. Well, I'm saying like,
- 1:36:46Speaker 4: just as like a casual called every.
- 1:36:48Speaker 8: Every travel at that level, you wouldn't get the game, no.
- 1:36:50Speaker 4: But just as a dad trying to understand what the
- 1:36:53Speaker 4: actual rules of the game are, it's hard to actually
- 1:36:55Speaker 4: watch it and understand, having you know, played Cyo, Like,
- 1:36:58Speaker 4: all right, I remember what travel was, but like it.
- 1:37:01Speaker 7: Looks like he's taking a lot of steps, you know,
- 1:37:03Speaker 7: as a.
- 1:37:04Speaker 6: Fan, like that's what it seems as like a very
- 1:37:07Speaker 6: much a basketball guy, all these like travels and double like,
- 1:37:13Speaker 6: I just don't it doesn't even I don't even watch
- 1:37:15Speaker 6: the game like that because I'm just like, I'm just
- 1:37:18Speaker 6: watching it to enjoy the game. I guess that that's
- 1:37:20Speaker 6: like my biggest gripe with people that are like that.
- 1:37:24Speaker 6: So you're sitting there on your couch and you're you're
- 1:37:26Speaker 6: complaining while watching the NBA Finals, that guy was dribbling
- 1:37:31Speaker 6: down the court with nobody around him, and he carried
- 1:37:33Speaker 6: and he didn't call it. It's like, who cares, Like,
- 1:37:37Speaker 6: that's not the point of why we're watching everything else.
- 1:37:40Speaker 6: If they start calling all these little things all all
- 1:37:43Speaker 6: the time. We're gonna be.
- 1:37:45Speaker 3: Then changed, Then change the rule.
- 1:37:48Speaker 8: They say that they've changed it, Why don't we move on?
- 1:37:51Speaker 8: Just like you can't get your grips on your offense,
- 1:37:53Speaker 8: I told you you don't want to fight these people.
- 1:37:55Speaker 8: They're dangerous.
- 1:37:58Speaker 3: Kelsey and It's Edward Island, Canada requests for Craft Sports
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: and Entertainment produced basketball podcast only stipulation is Mike hast
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: to spearheaded.
- 1:38:10Speaker 6: Perfect Alex and I could legitimately could.
- 1:38:16Speaker 3: L from Wisconsin again. Just like the NFL was trying
- 1:38:18Speaker 3: to get rid of the kickoff, the NBA is trying
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: to get rid of dribbling.
- 1:38:22Speaker 8: Nope, still not They've succeeded.
- 1:38:23Speaker 7: It's good.
- 1:38:24Speaker 6: Sorry, I'll just run off.
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: The field with it.
- 1:38:26Speaker 10: We hate athleticism displays of athleticism.
- 1:38:29Speaker 6: Because back in their day, guys couldn't get off the ground.
- 1:38:34Speaker 5: Athletic moves to the basket back in my day wound
- 1:38:37Speaker 5: up with a trip to the hospital.
- 1:38:39Speaker 3: Doctor J couldn't jump.
- 1:38:41Speaker 5: Yeah, George, one guy, David Thompson another stiff, landlocked stiff?
- 1:38:51Speaker 8: Are these people I know?
- 1:38:54Speaker 6: All these people are I was only kidding. I knew
- 1:38:58Speaker 6: I would get them going.
- 1:38:59Speaker 3: Uh, let's see. Declan writes in huge Celtics fan, longtime
- 1:39:03Speaker 3: follower of Evan. Who you guys keep calling Alex?
- 1:39:07Speaker 6: No, No, that's Alex. Just two different people.
- 1:39:10Speaker 3: Uh, And just wanted to point out the Celtics winning
- 1:39:14Speaker 3: did a lot for other teams Red Sox, Patriots and
- 1:39:16Speaker 3: Bruins can breathe, but I want more, you think, so
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: I don't make more pressure on I don't think When
- 1:39:23Speaker 3: the Patriots won that Super Bowl and O one, there
- 1:39:27Speaker 3: had been a drought in Boston for championships, and you
- 1:39:30Speaker 3: know a lot of people said that put pressure on
- 1:39:32Speaker 3: the other owners to say, hey, we gotta, you know,
- 1:39:36Speaker 3: keep up here.
- 1:39:36Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean Wick Grosspeck Right now, his his popularity
- 1:39:40Speaker 6: rate is through the roof because of how he's paid
- 1:39:43Speaker 6: for the Celtics team, and a couple weeks ago, to
- 1:39:47Speaker 6: contrast it to what's going on at Fenway Park right now,
- 1:39:49Speaker 6: it's pretty it's pretty drastic to see which guy is
- 1:39:52Speaker 6: actually paying the money to put a winner and which
- 1:39:55Speaker 6: one isn't.
- 1:39:56Speaker 3: So yeah, yeph Nate writes in He's thirteen, He's from Connecticut.
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: Nice question is what wide receivers will get a spot
- 1:40:06Speaker 3: on the fifty three man roster and what ones won't.
- 1:40:09Speaker 3: I'm thinking Juju, Bote and Thornton could be in the
- 1:40:13Speaker 3: on the chopping block. I think everyone here would agree
- 1:40:15Speaker 3: with you.
- 1:40:16Speaker 6: Yeah. I did my first fifty three man roster projection
- 1:40:19Speaker 6: on Monday after the spring and I had kender Born obviously,
- 1:40:26Speaker 6: Pop Douglas, the two rookies, Baker Polk, Jalen Rager. Is
- 1:40:32Speaker 6: that five? And I'm trying to remember who the sixth
- 1:40:34Speaker 6: one was. They'll come to me in a second. But
- 1:40:37Speaker 6: I had Juju. I feel like is cut traded, something
- 1:40:41Speaker 6: happens with him along those lines. Taekwon Thornton. I think
- 1:40:45Speaker 6: get gets the chopping block as well. And I don't
- 1:40:47Speaker 6: have Booty on right now either. I feel like, I
- 1:40:50Speaker 6: don't know, maybe you guys disagree with me with Booty,
- 1:40:52Speaker 6: but a lot of buzz coming out of Mini camp
- 1:40:55Speaker 6: and in the spring about Kishan Booty and we had
- 1:40:58Speaker 6: a good practice Wednesday. Yeah, And I just I haven't
- 1:41:02Speaker 6: seen it consistently. He's had his minute, his moments in
- 1:41:05Speaker 6: the sun like he did on that Wednesday practice, but
- 1:41:08Speaker 6: I just haven't seen this consistently. I hear so much
- 1:41:10Speaker 6: about Kaisha on Booty, Oh, well, if he hits his ceiling,
- 1:41:13Speaker 6: he's gonna be a number two receiver in the league.
- 1:41:15Speaker 6: I'm like, we're still hanging on to that one season
- 1:41:17Speaker 6: at LSU that's now like five years ago.
- 1:41:21Speaker 5: At least, if it was his last year at LSU,
- 1:41:23Speaker 5: you'd say he's an as sending player. But he had
- 1:41:26Speaker 5: like this breakthrough freshman year and never really lived up
- 1:41:30Speaker 5: to that.
- 1:41:30Speaker 8: Again, I kind of agree with Evan.
- 1:41:33Speaker 5: I don't know who the guys are going to be specifically,
- 1:41:35Speaker 5: but if you're going off of the practices, the only
- 1:41:39Speaker 5: one I thought that consistently stacked days once he showed
- 1:41:42Speaker 5: up was kJ Osborne, like he was the sixth guy. Well,
- 1:41:45Speaker 5: when when he started like he got, he was kind
- 1:41:48Speaker 5: of slow. I thought we didn't really notice him, and
- 1:41:51Speaker 5: then all of a sudden he had a decent day.
- 1:41:53Speaker 5: Then he had a better day than like the third
- 1:41:55Speaker 5: or fourth time I saw him, because I didn't see.
- 1:41:57Speaker 8: All the practices like you guys did.
- 1:41:59Speaker 5: I only saw those last handful, and I thought he
- 1:42:02Speaker 5: got better every day, whereas Booty, I would go like
- 1:42:05Speaker 5: three practices without even seeing him right, and then he
- 1:42:07Speaker 5: caught like four passes in a row.
- 1:42:09Speaker 7: Ye Yah.
- 1:42:09Speaker 4: That's the other thing I would say about Booty is
- 1:42:10Speaker 4: just that, and I rubber stamp everything.
- 1:42:13Speaker 7: Evan said.
- 1:42:13Speaker 4: It's just it's funny that Juju could never have a
- 1:42:15Speaker 4: day like that, Like we've never seen Juju Smith Schuster.
- 1:42:18Speaker 5: Howe he had that one slant, you know, and this
- 1:42:21Speaker 5: is what you're doing, like you're you're remembering like individual plays.
- 1:42:25Speaker 5: I agree with you, man, I don't think there was
- 1:42:26Speaker 5: ever anything. If you want to build off, if you.
- 1:42:28Speaker 4: Want any chance of putting Juju on the roster, at
- 1:42:30Speaker 4: least show me a day like that where it's like, Wow,
- 1:42:32Speaker 4: Juju's having a day for himself. Like I think he
- 1:42:34Speaker 4: had a game kind of against Pittsburgh last year and
- 1:42:36Speaker 4: that was like, this is the only time we've ever
- 1:42:37Speaker 4: seen this guy actually look like he can be out here,
- 1:42:40Speaker 4: and I.
- 1:42:40Speaker 5: Think he's gonna go. I think they're going to find
- 1:42:42Speaker 5: a way to have him go. But if he stays,
- 1:42:44Speaker 5: in my opinion, there's only money. It's only the only reason, yeah,
- 1:42:48Speaker 5: is money, and not money on the cap, money that
- 1:42:50Speaker 5: they have to pay him.
- 1:42:50Speaker 6: I think the most encouraging thing to me about the receivers,
- 1:42:53Speaker 6: you know, you mentioned stacking days and improving was Jalen
- 1:42:56Speaker 6: Polk's improvement from the start of the spring to the end.
- 1:42:59Speaker 6: Early on in this spring, during team drills, he really
- 1:43:02Speaker 6: wasn't doing much, I said the practice box score. He
- 1:43:06Speaker 6: just wasn't hitting any anything in team drills. And then Monday,
- 1:43:11Speaker 6: Mini Camp has a decent day. Wednesday Mini Camp has
- 1:43:13Speaker 6: an even better day.
- 1:43:14Speaker 8: I thought makes in the fairness I did not see
- 1:43:16Speaker 8: the Monday. Yeah, it makes.
- 1:43:17Speaker 6: Probably the catch of Mini Camp on the final play
- 1:43:20Speaker 6: of Mini Camp on the throw from Drake May. Those
- 1:43:24Speaker 6: things are encouraging, especially for a guy that's a rookie
- 1:43:27Speaker 6: second round pick that you're hoping is gonna do big
- 1:43:29Speaker 6: things in the league. To see him ascend and get
- 1:43:33Speaker 6: better and have that arrow continue to point upward was encouraging.
- 1:43:36Speaker 3: Baker's injury chance said, he starts on pup.
- 1:43:39Speaker 6: I wouldn't think so, I wouldn't go yet, but it is.
- 1:43:42Speaker 6: It does stink, like I think it's more than anything.
- 1:43:45Speaker 6: I'm not trying to alarm any Bills right now with it,
- 1:43:47Speaker 6: but it does stink that we didn't get to see
- 1:43:49Speaker 6: more of him.
- 1:43:52Speaker 3: I mean, if if he starts a pup falls behind,
- 1:43:55Speaker 3: if he falls behind, how quickly can he.
- 1:43:58Speaker 8: Catch those like I don't and I don't know what
- 1:44:02Speaker 8: it is.
- 1:44:03Speaker 6: We don't know what it is, but purely speculative, it
- 1:44:07Speaker 6: seems like it would probably be one of those soft
- 1:44:09Speaker 6: soft tissues, so that would.
- 1:44:12Speaker 4: It can warm up, but he's not going to participating
- 1:44:15Speaker 4: and then he falls behind and then does he get
- 1:44:18Speaker 4: a chance to catch up or does he end up
- 1:44:20Speaker 4: on the practice squad.
- 1:44:21Speaker 6: You know, it's probably not going to practice. He'll make
- 1:44:25Speaker 6: the team or be on you know, he'll be controlled somehow.
- 1:44:29Speaker 8: But you know, we're still looking at what six weeks
- 1:44:31Speaker 8: or so.
- 1:44:32Speaker 5: Yeah, so that's a lot of time he should be
- 1:44:35Speaker 5: able to if if it is soft tissue, that should
- 1:44:38Speaker 5: be enough time for him to recover. But like the
- 1:44:41Speaker 5: whole pup thing in training camp is predicated on and
- 1:44:45Speaker 5: it's going to change now with Mayo. Who knows, but
- 1:44:47Speaker 5: my guess is going to be similarities with the conditioning
- 1:44:50Speaker 5: run and can you get yourself physically prepared to start practice.
- 1:44:56Speaker 5: A soft tissue injury is very difficult to pass any
- 1:44:58Speaker 5: kind of conditioning. I don't care how easy it is,
- 1:45:01Speaker 5: so that would be a concern, but he should have
- 1:45:04Speaker 5: enough time. He didn't really do much, I know the
- 1:45:06Speaker 5: last two times that I saw, and there were practices
- 1:45:09Speaker 5: in between.
- 1:45:10Speaker 6: So yeah, he didn't really do much.
- 1:45:12Speaker 4: I think him and the and Thornton, who also you know,
- 1:45:14Speaker 4: missed the last practice, are the two people I'll be
- 1:45:17Speaker 4: looking at right away right out of key, like are
- 1:45:20Speaker 4: they there?
- 1:45:20Speaker 7: Are they participating that?
- 1:45:22Speaker 5: And unless he has a significant injury, I don't see
- 1:45:24Speaker 5: any way he starts on pup because I think his
- 1:45:26Speaker 5: urgency will be too bad.
- 1:45:28Speaker 6: Yeah, it was just really I said, it was encouraging
- 1:45:31Speaker 6: to watch Jalen Polk's end of Mini Camp. Javon bakers
- 1:45:34Speaker 6: start of the spring was really encouraging, where he was
- 1:45:37Speaker 6: one of the few guys that just moved different.
- 1:45:39Speaker 8: With that, I saw more from Baker.
- 1:45:41Speaker 6: Than's super You could see the twitch and the explosiveness
- 1:45:44Speaker 6: in his movements that the other guys in the room
- 1:45:47Speaker 6: don't necessarily have. I mean Pop has it, but he's
- 1:45:49Speaker 6: much smaller obviously, so it's not quite the same skill set.
- 1:45:52Speaker 6: And and just you hope that he can be back
- 1:45:55Speaker 6: from camp.
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: Eight five five pass five? Colin, what's up? Colin? Oh,
- 1:46:03Speaker 3: it's ka Kaln Sorry.
- 1:46:06Speaker 10: For Evan.
- 1:46:07Speaker 15: I was thinking with Alex van Pelt coming in and
- 1:46:10Speaker 15: shaking up the offense. Do you think will possibly see
- 1:46:14Speaker 15: some new formations. Do you think maybe we'll see any
- 1:46:18Speaker 15: empty formations too, where they might utilize the tight ends,
- 1:46:21Speaker 15: or do you think that the perceived weakness of the
- 1:46:24Speaker 15: offensive line that may be too risky.
- 1:46:27Speaker 6: Well, they're decently They're a pretty big empty team last year.
- 1:46:31Speaker 6: I mean, Bill O'Brien loves empty, so they ran a
- 1:46:33Speaker 6: decent amount of empty last year. But actually, I've talked
- 1:46:37Speaker 6: to people about this in the past, talked to Scar
- 1:46:39Speaker 6: about it in the past. You would think that empty
- 1:46:43Speaker 6: would put a lot of stress on the offensive line
- 1:46:45Speaker 6: because there's there's no running back in the backfield to
- 1:46:48Speaker 6: help out with the protection. But he actually thought it
- 1:46:51Speaker 6: was sort of the opposite. I was pretty surprised because
- 1:46:55Speaker 6: most of empty is designed to get the ball out
- 1:46:56Speaker 6: so quickly that it's not really you're not sitting there
- 1:47:00Speaker 6: and empty with the ball for three and a half
- 1:47:01Speaker 6: seconds like waiting for something to develop all the way
- 1:47:03Speaker 6: down the field. It's more of like a quick game
- 1:47:05Speaker 6: look that you're getting into the one formation. Thing I
- 1:47:08Speaker 6: would say is a little bit different about the Van
- 1:47:11Speaker 6: Pelt offense and what they've done in the past is
- 1:47:13Speaker 6: they will be a little bit more condensed. I think
- 1:47:15Speaker 6: I don't think they're going to be as wide at times.
- 1:47:18Speaker 6: And then also they ran a lot of thirteen, you know,
- 1:47:20Speaker 6: three tight ends, which the Patriots did a little bit
- 1:47:23Speaker 6: last year too, But they ran a lot of three
- 1:47:25Speaker 6: tight end in Cleveland over the last couple of years,
- 1:47:28Speaker 6: and we might see a decent amount of that.
- 1:47:30Speaker 5: The other part of the empty thing that you know,
- 1:47:32Speaker 5: Charlie used to talk about this, Charlie Weiss, it's just
- 1:47:34Speaker 5: that it also forces the other team to defend it. Right,
- 1:47:37Speaker 5: So you can sit there and say, well, you have
- 1:47:40Speaker 5: less pass protection, but we have more guys that are prepared.
- 1:47:44Speaker 5: It's not a back leaking out of the backfield that
- 1:47:46Speaker 5: a linebacker could be lined up in the A gap
- 1:47:48Speaker 5: and be covering him. So now you're spread out a
- 1:47:51Speaker 5: lot of times when you spread out, you have you know,
- 1:47:54Speaker 5: like four receivers and maybe a tight end as opposed
- 1:47:56Speaker 5: to running backs and aren't necessarily going to stretch the defense.
- 1:48:00Speaker 5: So that requires coverage and takes away from potential rushers.
- 1:48:04Speaker 5: Now sometimes yeah, sometimes teams just load up and say
- 1:48:07Speaker 5: we're gonna come. We're gonna get there faster than you
- 1:48:09Speaker 5: can get it out, you know, and that's a problem.
- 1:48:11Speaker 8: But be interesting.
- 1:48:14Speaker 4: Henry Hooper and Baker like seeing all for sorry Bell,
- 1:48:18Speaker 4: all three of those guys I don't want.
- 1:48:20Speaker 7: That'll be pretty interesting.
- 1:48:21Speaker 3: John Wrights in wondering what you've seen out of Kyle
- 1:48:24Speaker 3: Duggar at Minnie Camp. Did they move him back closer
- 1:48:27Speaker 3: to the ball like we all want them to do?
- 1:48:29Speaker 3: Also side note, I love Pam. I feel she's misunderstood.
- 1:48:33Speaker 3: She was treated bad by Roy and it made me
- 1:48:36Speaker 3: want better for her. Which was jim sad scene when
- 1:48:40Speaker 3: they kissed on Poker Night and Jim left crying. I'm
- 1:48:44Speaker 3: all in my fields right now.
- 1:48:45Speaker 6: Okay, agree to disagree.
- 1:48:49Speaker 10: Talk about this a couple.
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: Of did you have you seen the new commercial with
- 1:48:57Speaker 3: the office cast and it's for I don't know if
- 1:49:00Speaker 3: it's for Oh it's for a T and T network. No,
- 1:49:03Speaker 3: it's for AT and T network. I believe Business network.
- 1:49:06Speaker 3: You haven't seen they have the cast other than you know,
- 1:49:09Speaker 3: the main Michael Scott, they're all on it. You haven't
- 1:49:13Speaker 3: seen it. I'm the only one that's seen this. It's
- 1:49:16Speaker 3: like everyone, Wow, I don't have Pam. Pam makes a
- 1:49:19Speaker 3: brief cameon.
- 1:49:22Speaker 6: Watching commercials. It's coming.
- 1:49:25Speaker 7: It was on TV fifty six last night.
- 1:49:26Speaker 3: No, no, no, help me out, Help me out. You've seen
- 1:49:30Speaker 3: the I believe I think.
- 1:49:33Speaker 10: Are you talking about a reboot The Office? Yeah? Minus
- 1:49:37Speaker 10: minus Steve Carrell, I don't know.
- 1:49:39Speaker 3: I don't think that would work because it's a remake
- 1:49:43Speaker 3: and a different state about a newspaper company.
- 1:49:46Speaker 6: No offense, but they've all aged quite a bit.
- 1:49:49Speaker 3: Well, I bring it off. Pam is in there for
- 1:49:52Speaker 3: like a brief second, and you can tell he's not
- 1:49:55Speaker 3: looking like the girl next door anymore.
- 1:49:58Speaker 10: You know that for I know.
- 1:50:00Speaker 4: Yeah, my influencer sister, but on an ozebic rant this
- 1:50:03Speaker 4: weekend Father's Day, saw her talking about how I guess
- 1:50:07Speaker 4: you said, the weight comes back really fast because it
- 1:50:09Speaker 4: resets your discipline, well, resets your like calori. If you're
- 1:50:14Speaker 4: eating seven hundred calories a day and that's what you're
- 1:50:17Speaker 4: out an ozempic, then you call your body seven hundred
- 1:50:20Speaker 4: calories a day or else.
- 1:50:21Speaker 6: I mean any of those like fad diets, right, that's true.
- 1:50:24Speaker 6: Once you go off the diet, then you're gonna put
- 1:50:25Speaker 6: it all.
- 1:50:26Speaker 5: So if you, you know, improve on your nutrition and
- 1:50:29Speaker 5: your exercise and lose weight and then stop doing that,
- 1:50:33Speaker 5: you might gain weight.
- 1:50:34Speaker 4: Well, if you stop taking the pill to make you're
- 1:50:37Speaker 4: not hungry, you're going to be a lot more hungry.
- 1:50:39Speaker 5: Exactly what you're Just like, if I'm working out like
- 1:50:41Speaker 5: a maniac and stop doing that but eat the same,
- 1:50:44Speaker 5: probably going to gain weight.
- 1:50:46Speaker 8: It's got to be a lifestyle.
- 1:50:47Speaker 6: You've got to do it all. You can't just like
- 1:50:50Speaker 6: take a magic just temporary.
- 1:50:53Speaker 3: You have to. It's a lifestyle change.
- 1:50:54Speaker 10: You have to.
- 1:50:58Speaker 8: I'm lazy.
- 1:51:00Speaker 10: You can choose this, choose or regret, pick your adversity.
- 1:51:05Speaker 3: I've seen that meme.
- 1:51:07Speaker 8: I don't need to choose your herd.
- 1:51:09Speaker 3: You know you have the two pills.
- 1:51:11Speaker 8: Choose the don't choose discipline.
- 1:51:13Speaker 5: I don't have any regret either other than you know,
- 1:51:16Speaker 5: my life. But it's not about my condition. It's about
- 1:51:19Speaker 5: my occupation.
- 1:51:20Speaker 7: My choices, and my you know, general poor time on
- 1:51:24Speaker 7: the planet.
- 1:51:25Speaker 6: Just my life. She's at home.
- 1:51:29Speaker 4: My damn said occupy though he would never do that, No,
- 1:51:33Speaker 4: I said, wife wife.
- 1:51:36Speaker 7: Wife.
- 1:51:37Speaker 3: Ray writes in I just saw the New Vibe short
- 1:51:40Speaker 3: that was posted, and if it isn't a lead into
- 1:51:44Speaker 3: a New Jersey announcement, then we can chalk that one
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: up to a rare content team. L I think it
- 1:51:50Speaker 3: left more people confused than anything. What are we talking about?
- 1:51:53Speaker 10: The media day?
- 1:51:54Speaker 7: There was a new video.
- 1:51:55Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't want to throw fantastic social media.
- 1:51:59Speaker 7: Okay, I haven't seen it.
- 1:52:00Speaker 6: I will.
- 1:52:00Speaker 3: What is it?
- 1:52:01Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:52:02Speaker 7: I just saw they the video I didn't. I hadn't
- 1:52:04Speaker 7: seen yet.
- 1:52:04Speaker 10: I think it's just a video from Yeah, and it's
- 1:52:09Speaker 10: just lights.
- 1:52:10Speaker 6: And cuts, new vibe. And I did get a few
- 1:52:13Speaker 6: texts asking if they're missing they were missing something like
- 1:52:16Speaker 6: a jersey change or so.
- 1:52:17Speaker 3: Okay, all right. Also, I hope someone finally rescued Matt
- 1:52:20Speaker 3: out of the well Fred all that money and new equipment,
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: and Matt opted for the recycled Campbell's Supercan for himself.
- 1:52:27Speaker 3: You might want to follow some threads on that expense
- 1:52:31Speaker 3: report because it ain't adding up. Onto my I just
- 1:52:34Speaker 3: got to press the button. There he is? It sounds good?
- 1:52:38Speaker 3: There is right now, Chris Onto My actual question, do
- 1:52:43Speaker 3: we have any major concerns with the running back situation?
- 1:52:46Speaker 3: I keep hearing how ADP's offense depends on that zone
- 1:52:49Speaker 3: running setup and how important running backs are to that system.
- 1:52:53Speaker 3: Are there any realistic running backs available. If this is
- 1:52:56Speaker 3: a concern, understandably this is a Zeke like sit situation,
- 1:53:00Speaker 3: but who is actually available that would fit who's available?
- 1:53:05Speaker 7: But I think we're all on record of saying it.
- 1:53:08Speaker 7: It feels really late right now.
- 1:53:09Speaker 4: You've got two NFL running backs, and you know, assuming
- 1:53:12Speaker 4: Ramandri comes back and is healthy.
- 1:53:13Speaker 7: Then I think you're okay.
- 1:53:14Speaker 4: But I think it's asking a lot to think that
- 1:53:16Speaker 4: they're going to get through the season with just Stevenson
- 1:53:18Speaker 4: and Gibson and carrying the.
- 1:53:20Speaker 3: We always say available, there's always somebody that's especially Patriots.
- 1:53:24Speaker 9: Have always been really good at just kind of finding
- 1:53:26Speaker 9: those running backs out of the woodwork.
- 1:53:28Speaker 4: But I don't know Jim Michael Hasty. I mean, he
- 1:53:31Speaker 4: gets a lot of action in camp. He's probably got
- 1:53:33Speaker 4: to be viewed as the favorite right now, but he's
- 1:53:36Speaker 4: a little bit smaller guy.
- 1:53:37Speaker 7: You just you know, I don't want Zeke backing. I mean,
- 1:53:39Speaker 7: he was on Cowboys.
- 1:53:40Speaker 4: But you know, somebody bigger like that, I think that
- 1:53:42Speaker 4: can take some of the load off of it.
- 1:53:44Speaker 7: I mean, maybe it's Kevin hann about Jones.
- 1:53:48Speaker 6: I have concerns about the whole running game that I'm
- 1:53:51Speaker 6: trying not to get too carried away with until we
- 1:53:54Speaker 6: see it in training camp. But I don't feel like
- 1:53:57Speaker 6: they have the personnel to run outside zone as much
- 1:53:59Speaker 6: as I think they want to just on the line
- 1:54:02Speaker 6: or in the running backs you're gonna have and I
- 1:54:05Speaker 6: know Nick Chubb is a big guy. Nick Chubb is
- 1:54:07Speaker 6: an explosive big guy. Yeah, And you're gonna have Remondra Stevenson,
- 1:54:10Speaker 6: who's a two hundred and twenty five pound running back
- 1:54:12Speaker 6: trying to get the corner on outside zone and then
- 1:54:15Speaker 6: trying to one cut it up through the middle of
- 1:54:17Speaker 6: the field. And you're gonna have Mike on Winnu who's
- 1:54:19Speaker 6: three hundred and forty pounds, and he's gonna be asked
- 1:54:21Speaker 6: to move laterally across the field and make a reach
- 1:54:23Speaker 6: block on the line of scrimmage and overtake somebody Like
- 1:54:26Speaker 6: I just I wonder how much of that they're actually
- 1:54:28Speaker 6: gonna be able to do once they get into the season.
- 1:54:31Speaker 6: And if we get into the season and all of
- 1:54:32Speaker 6: a sudden they're running downhill at people again.
- 1:54:34Speaker 4: A lot, we get a lot of questions exact question
- 1:54:36Speaker 4: I put in the mailbag today, exact exactly that question
- 1:54:39Speaker 4: doesn't seem like they have the personnel for wide zone
- 1:54:41Speaker 4: and a lot.
- 1:54:43Speaker 8: And I answered, this is a different sweet yeah, J.
- 1:54:45Speaker 4: But I mean I said the same thing you did
- 1:54:48Speaker 4: of I mean, look at Michael when you I mean,
- 1:54:49Speaker 4: they clearly made a commitment to him. They knew what
- 1:54:52Speaker 4: they were trying to run by the time they made
- 1:54:53Speaker 4: that commitment to him. So I mean the way I
- 1:54:56Speaker 4: kind of look at it is they want to try
- 1:54:57Speaker 4: to do it, but like you said, I think they
- 1:54:59Speaker 4: might end up being more gap based, and you know
- 1:55:01Speaker 4: they're gonna I mean it sounds I mean, we've heard
- 1:55:03Speaker 4: enough times from Van Pelt. We're gonna put the scheme
- 1:55:05Speaker 4: around of players. We're not going to try to jam
- 1:55:07Speaker 4: them into. We're running wide.
- 1:55:08Speaker 8: Million times so different ways.
- 1:55:10Speaker 6: And I know they want to move the pocket and
- 1:55:12Speaker 6: that and that's the big reason why you buy into
- 1:55:14Speaker 6: that system is that you can move the pocket. But
- 1:55:17Speaker 6: they found some creative ways in Cleveland last year to
- 1:55:19Speaker 6: move the pocket without running as much wide as zone.
- 1:55:22Speaker 6: You know, you can still you can run cracked toss
- 1:55:25Speaker 6: type plays Paul cracked toss, and then you can bootleg
- 1:55:28Speaker 6: off of cracked toss. You can run your pin and
- 1:55:30Speaker 6: pull on that well, so they do run a lot
- 1:55:32Speaker 6: of pin pole, but pin pole is is the zone
- 1:55:35Speaker 6: family's version of gap. Like that's it's the same play
- 1:55:38Speaker 6: as outside them.
- 1:55:40Speaker 3: You can run statue of liberty offense, for.
- 1:55:42Speaker 6: Sure, it's the same concept more or less as as
- 1:55:46Speaker 6: outside zone. You just have obviously the tags of the
- 1:55:48Speaker 6: pin pole. But I don't know. I just maybe we're
- 1:55:50Speaker 6: getting too caught up in all of this type of
- 1:55:52Speaker 6: stuff and it will work itself out. That's where I'm
- 1:55:54Speaker 6: at with it right now. But if we get it,
- 1:55:56Speaker 6: you know, six weeks into the training camp and this
- 1:55:58Speaker 6: looks like the Matt Patricia offense because they can't block
- 1:56:01Speaker 6: outside zone and that's what they keep trying to remember.
- 1:56:03Speaker 5: How many like first and ten Stevenson Yeah, loss of
- 1:56:08Speaker 5: one second.
- 1:56:09Speaker 6: Eleven Like it was amazing.
- 1:56:12Speaker 3: Like you know, behind the line, he's getting hit first contact.
- 1:56:15Speaker 8: Yeah yeah.
- 1:56:16Speaker 6: And this defense is not going to let them have
- 1:56:18Speaker 6: it easy. And in practice, I mean, Devon god Wise
- 1:56:21Speaker 6: and Christian Barmore are going to be like you're going
- 1:56:25Speaker 6: to run outside zone at me? Good luck?
- 1:56:28Speaker 8: Did we talk about.
- 1:56:29Speaker 3: That at all?
- 1:56:29Speaker 5: Like not to put the necessarily the fact that Godshaw
- 1:56:33Speaker 5: was here, but not practicing that I know we did
- 1:56:36Speaker 5: talk about, but that Mayo was asked specifically about that and.
- 1:56:39Speaker 7: He went there, yeah, oh yeah, he.
- 1:56:41Speaker 5: Went there and said, yeah, he's one of these guys
- 1:56:43Speaker 5: is looking to redo his contract. Is not the only one, right,
- 1:56:46Speaker 5: Like this is like if that wasn't proof that it's
- 1:56:48Speaker 5: a different day.
- 1:56:49Speaker 10: Times of change.
- 1:56:50Speaker 3: Yeah, uh, Dylan and Tampa Bay, all of this talk
- 1:56:54Speaker 3: about how the NBA is played and officiated is exactly
- 1:56:57Speaker 3: why I prefer n C double A over the NBA.
- 1:57:00Speaker 3: It's five on five rather than the Tatum donchek on
- 1:57:03Speaker 3: hard and one on one nonsense love. College ball actually
- 1:57:06Speaker 3: draws up plays and they are much better about playing
- 1:57:09Speaker 3: with technique. Hope Paul can agree, as I know how
- 1:57:12Speaker 3: much he enjoys March.
- 1:57:13Speaker 10: Madness started therapy.
- 1:57:15Speaker 3: I love.
- 1:57:16Speaker 5: I love college basketball, but not for the reasons he does.
- 1:57:18Speaker 5: It's not better basketball. It's not even close.
- 1:57:21Speaker 6: If you love laying bricks, then you.
- 1:57:23Speaker 5: I love college basketball because of the passion and all
- 1:57:26Speaker 5: of the stuff that goes along with it, not because
- 1:57:28Speaker 5: of the skills, but the skill level and the off
- 1:57:30Speaker 5: that like the caliber of offense, Like you're talking about
- 1:57:33Speaker 5: the plays, It's not even close.
- 1:57:34Speaker 3: Again, going back to the nf NBA draft, the top
- 1:57:37Speaker 3: five players are the only ones that count. That tells
- 1:57:40Speaker 3: you the talent gap between the NBA in.
- 1:57:43Speaker 6: And this draft stinks that way. This is one of
- 1:57:46Speaker 6: the worst drafts in a long time.
- 1:57:47Speaker 8: I feel like that every year.
- 1:57:49Speaker 5: But because I don't know the Europeans that are going
- 1:57:51Speaker 5: to be the ones that are getting taken out the top.
- 1:57:53Speaker 6: Five doesn't know the dis draft is you listen to
- 1:57:57Speaker 6: not this is I don't do NBA drafts like the
- 1:58:00Speaker 6: NFL drafts. But the NBA analysts that dude will have
- 1:58:02Speaker 6: to bring in Barth for that. No, the NBA analysts
