- 0:22Hello everybody, and welcome to Into the Weeds podcast here on
- 0:25Military Broadcast Radio. I'm Amber.
- 0:27I'm Laura and this is 0. And today again, a repeat guest
- 0:32from last week, we have Tony from inside the Who's Your Mind?
- 0:36Hi, I appreciate you guys having me back.
- 0:37I I did just well enough to make you guys both laugh that you're
- 0:41like, OK, we got to at least bring you back for a little bit
- 0:43of comedic relief if anything. Oh, you always make us laugh.
- 0:46Sorry. I try.
- 0:47I try. Yeah, it does get a little loud.
- 0:52Laura's got ear problems. The wrong 1.
- 0:55I don't know. Keep talking.
- 0:56Hello. Hello.
- 0:57Hello. Hello.
- 0:57Hello. That's mine.
- 0:59Yeah, she's trying to I'm. Moving mine.
- 1:02Yeah. It was mine 3.
- 1:04Maybe, I don't know. Tony, say something.
- 1:08Can you hear me now? And I see Joy's here, Joy.
- 1:10I'm happy that you're here. And she gets to see me for the
- 1:12whole episode if she wants to. She's glad.
- 1:15To cheer here. Hello, Kathleen and Joy and Sam.
- 1:19And I don't know if anybody else jumped in, but thank you for
- 1:24joining us last week. We had Tony and we just kind of
- 1:28biessed our way through the stream.
- 1:30I. Think it went well.
- 1:32I think it did too. I think we had a really good
- 1:34time. Especially for no plans.
- 1:36Yeah, exactly. So, But today we're going to go
- 1:40back to the topic that we were originally going to talk about
- 1:43last week, and that is baptism of the dead.
- 1:48And I had heard about it, but I didn't really know much about it
- 1:52because when I was in college, I took a bunch of courses on
- 1:56different faiths and all that stuff.
- 1:59So I remember some things, but there's only one spot in the
- 2:03Bible where it even talks about baptizing the dead.
- 2:06And Paul says that it's 1st Corinthians 1529, I believe, and
- 2:12it, it basically just alludes to a practice that was happening in
- 2:16the Corinthian church, but he doesn't elaborate on it.
- 2:20And so for the fact that the Mormon church built a whole
- 2:25doctrine around something that wasn't even elaborated on or
- 2:28anything like that, you know, I find fascinating.
- 2:32And unfortunately there's a lot of churches that do that.
- 2:35They take a specific text out of the Bible or verse or whatever
- 2:40and build something around it that was never meant to be.
- 2:45And I grew up in Baptist Church and now I go to a non
- 2:49denominational Christian Church. And so everything we do is in
- 2:55the public. When you get baptized, it's a
- 2:58public profession in front of everybody, and anybody can walk
- 3:02in those doors and see what's going on.
- 3:06So the fact that everything's so secret in the Mormon church just
- 3:10reinforces to me, even more so after researching all of this,
- 3:16that it really does look like a cult.
- 3:19And you know, sometimes I'm a little afraid to put that label
- 3:25out there or whatever to offend people and things like that,
- 3:30because everybody has a right to believe whatever they want.
- 3:34But the stuff I'm seeing is just very odd.
- 3:39Yeah, I say I, I worked with, I, I come to find out I worked with
- 3:44two Mormons. 1 was a Sergeant in the Marine Corps and he was an
- 3:47infantryman. And I noticed that he wouldn't
- 3:50do, he wouldn't do caffeine. He also wouldn't cuss.
- 3:53And it's like, isn't that like your guys whole reason for
- 3:57existing is like cursing and just being marines and
- 4:00everything like that? Like he was the exact opposite.
- 4:02Also fun fact that is completely unrelated.
- 4:05He looked like Sid the sloth, like the the eyes were just
- 4:07farted. Like he was just really buff and
- 4:10he did. He looked like he had a sloth.
- 4:11And I was like, I can't, I can't deal with you, man.
- 4:14But I didn't, I didn't know that he was Mormon.
- 4:20And so I've come to find out when I actually went to Utah for
- 4:24a work trip a couple years ago, I met up with an old supervisor.
- 4:28I had a ton of respect for him. And I used to always know he
- 4:31wouldn't touch alcohol. And I was like, OK, maybe it's
- 4:33just a personal thing. Like I have family members that
- 4:35they are really easily addicted to alcohol.
- 4:37So I'm like, OK, maybe he just doesn't like no, no harm, no
- 4:40foul, no judgement. And then come to find out he's
- 4:42Mormon. But he was like a different
- 4:45Mormon than this one because he is definitely dropped like the F
- 4:48bomb and all of that. And I was like, OK, I was like,
- 4:51maybe he's like Mormon light if there is such a thing.
- 4:54But but while I was in Utah, like I actually did see like a
- 4:58group of Mormons 'cause they all had like the shirts, they even
- 5:00had name tags 'cause I thought when we went into this mall that
- 5:03they worked there and I was like, oh, you don't work there.
- 5:06Never mind, my bad. My bad.
- 5:11Yeah, it's a it's a very interesting culture.
- 5:16Very interesting. I have to say, if it looks like
- 5:18a cult, smells like a cult, tastes like a cult, might be, I
- 5:21don't know, It doesn't mean that every single person that's in it
- 5:23is a bad person with, you know, bad intentions in my opinion.
- 5:28But, you know, it doesn't mean that you're not going to operate
- 5:30in that way. So I feel like our guest of the
- 5:32week might have some opinions on that.
- 5:34Yeah, and so we are going to bring up culty stuff.
- 5:38And if you guys don't remember culty stuff actually went by
- 5:42another name misses Fancy Pants in the Rose community.
- 5:46So if you don't remember that she's.
- 5:51Like, don't bring up that. No, but I, I just want everybody
- 5:55to be able to correlate who this is.
- 5:58So hey, the way that community has been going.
- 6:08No, thank you. OK, so anyways, we're going to
- 6:11bring up culty stuff. And, and by the way, the reason
- 6:15I brought her, I wanted to bring her on to talk about this is
- 6:18because I was listening to her talk on Jaden Jeff's podcast,
- 6:23Warren Jeff's son, and she was talking about this.
- 6:28So by the end of it, I was like, what the freak is baptism of the
- 6:32dead? I want to know more.
- 6:34So without further ado. The interview of the week is
- 6:39brought to you by Jersey Mike's, a sub above.
- 6:46Hello, Steph. Hi, Steph.
- 6:48Hey thanks for having me. Yeah.
- 6:51Thank you for coming on. For joining us, you're always
- 6:53fun, Yeah. I was I was really hoping
- 6:58everyone would forget that other name.
- 7:00I won't say it next time. I won't say it.
- 7:03Sorry, no. It's.
- 7:05OK. It's OK, I know.
- 7:06Laura was watching me backstage, laughing.
- 7:11I was like, oh, I don't know if she.
- 7:14But. Hey.
- 7:16I mean, hey. Yeah.
- 7:18OK. So Stephanie, like I said, I saw
- 7:21you on Jaden's podcast. And by the way, I'm so proud of
- 7:26you for getting up there and doing that because that's a huge
- 7:29platform. You did a great job too.
- 7:32Thank you. Thank you.
- 7:33I was really nervous about it actually, but Jason's awesome.
- 7:37He's like, he's so sweet. Yeah, and I bet it's really hard
- 7:41for him having a dad like that and living with that stigma.
- 7:46But even having a dad like that, I saw that he was like listening
- 7:50to some of the things that you were saying.
- 7:51He's like, oh, even with Warren Jeffs is my dad.
- 7:54I feel like the things I went through aren't even.
- 7:57They didn't even hold a candle. I know.
- 7:59I know. Like when you shock the cult
- 8:01leader's son, like, that's, that's pretty intense.
- 8:04Right, Right. Right.
- 8:06Yeah. So, I mean, I came out of there,
- 8:08like, believing that the FLDS were definitely treated better
- 8:12than I was treated. So it was, it's really
- 8:18interesting, like, to talk and compare the two religions
- 8:20because they're so close. Yeah.
- 8:24Yeah. Definitely.
- 8:25OK. So can you give us a background
- 8:28about your baptismal experience? And we'll go from there into the
- 8:36baptism of the dead, But like how old were you when you
- 8:41officially joined the church or how does that happen?
- 8:44And then the baptismal process. Yeah.
- 8:47So when you're born, they have what's called a baby blessing,
- 8:51and that's when your name is put on the record.
- 8:53So you gave give the baby a name and a blessing and that makes
- 8:57them like kind of a member. And then you get baptized when
- 9:00you're 8. So when you're 7, you start
- 9:03memorizing the articles of faith.
- 9:05And then you have to know a couple other things, like to get
- 9:09baptized. And then at 8 years old, you
- 9:14make this massive decision that's supposed to last your
- 9:17entire life into eternity, and you get baptized.
- 9:22And So what it looks like? Yeah, at 8, at 8:00, it's, it's
- 9:29pretty intense, right? That's a lot of responsibility
- 9:31for nature, Yeah. Right.
- 9:35Yeah. And all figured out by.
- 9:40Well, and the fact that they have a set age is odd as well
- 9:44because, you know, I come from a faith where you grow into that.
- 9:50You know, it's not something that.
- 9:54Everyone has their personal relationship or their theology
- 9:58or their faith by a certain, you know, various ages.
- 10:01You know what I mean? Because that's just who you are.
- 10:04They don't push baptism on a particular timeline, no.
- 10:08No, no, they say it's huge it they make it and again, each
- 10:13each part is kind of different. I know like non denominational
- 10:17and Protestant kind of mirror each other quite a bit.
- 10:20So really I, I always kind of joke.
- 10:22It's like the hippie of Christianity very much more
- 10:26open. Like you kind of make your own
- 10:29pathway of how you want to accept religion, how you want to
- 10:33accept that in your heart, how you want to interpret it, and
- 10:37even how you want to express it. And can all be interpreted and
- 10:40done in like various different ways just through like that part
- 10:44of it. I do have a question and it
- 10:47might be one that it, it's like, I don't want to say advance, but
- 10:52you know, maybe I'll go for it. I don't know.
- 10:54I really don't know how to explain it without potentially
- 10:56coming off as rude. I don't.
- 10:57I don't want to do that by any stretch of the imagination.
- 10:59He won't offend me, but. But just from like what you were
- 11:03talking about as far as like when you're a baby and it's kind
- 11:06of a preview as far as like the baptism of the dead, like the
- 11:09the amount of records that are kept by the church as a whole.
- 11:13As far as the records of everybody that has lived, like
- 11:16the different things that they go through to obtain that
- 11:18information. And like it seems like this,
- 11:21like it's such a structured religion of something that I
- 11:27don't think I've ever seen even other religions practice like it
- 11:32like that. It's almost like militant kind
- 11:34of in the way of like everybody has to have a name.
- 11:37Like your information has to be like shared and verified with
- 11:40other sources. So that way you can confirm that
- 11:42you are a part of this church. Like do they kind of have to
- 11:46move them for that or like a background as to where that was
- 11:49like established from? I think it's really just a
- 11:53record keeping church because they're really huge into
- 11:56genealogy and and tracking everything.
- 11:59So they want to know all the births, all the baptisms, the
- 12:02deaths, the marriages. They want to know everything and
- 12:04they track it very closely. So I think that's what it is.
- 12:08I mean it could be for another reason, don't know.
- 12:12The Mormons kind of run or have a big contribution to
- 12:17likeancestry.com and stuff like that.
- 12:19And FamilySearch, OH. Yeah, they own FamilySearch.
- 12:24I do find it very interesting that you guys are so adamant or
- 12:28not you guys you previously, but I'm sorry my is no longer my.
- 12:32Family. But that the Mormons are
- 12:36particularly caught up in record keeping and stuff because, you
- 12:40know, I've kind of been in a little bit of a Sister or Sister
- 12:43Wives watching era. I'm almost finished with it.
- 12:46I didn't watch it as it aired or whatever.
- 12:47And there's a lot of things I could say about that show.
- 12:50Oh my goodness. But something they're very
- 12:52adamant about is the fact that because when you're living
- 12:55polygamy, which I know is not something that all Mormons do,
- 12:58it's a very specific, well, there's actually a couple
- 13:01different subsects of Mormonism that do that.
- 13:04But anyway, but whenever they're living polygamy, they are very
- 13:09like, the government cannot know, you know, we don't put
- 13:13people's names on the birth certificate.
- 13:15They're very weird about home births and making sure that
- 13:17people can't really track what's going on.
- 13:19But then within their own, their little community, they're like,
- 13:22we have this and this and that and we track everything.
- 13:26Well, and I got the assumption from my research that it's all
- 13:32in the the advancement of the church by being able to then
- 13:41look at the records and baptize people.
- 13:45When you're dead. By proxy.
- 13:47It could be that too. Yeah, it really could be.
- 13:51Yeah. So OK with the with the the
- 13:55baptism, that's when you do your first worthiness interview also.
- 14:00OK. So the Bishop, you, the child
- 14:06meets with the Bishop in his office.
- 14:10So you're almost 8 and this is like a 4050 year old man.
- 14:16And you're in there and they ask you all these questions, like do
- 14:20you know your articles of faith? And you have to recite those.
- 14:24And then they ask you if you believe Jesus Christ is your
- 14:27Lord and Savior, and you have to answer that.
- 14:29And then they ask you about chastity.
- 14:33Do you keep the law of chastity at 8?
- 14:36Yeah, Yeah. That's when they start
- 14:38introducing that, because you can't get baptized if you're
- 14:44thinning right. If that is, you're not Chase and
- 14:50it's not your fault. Right, right.
- 14:53But the. Kids don't understand that.
- 14:55Yeah, 'cause I remember one of the videos I was watching about
- 14:58that another former Mormon was, was talking about how that
- 15:02interview comes in and yeah, you're sitting there 8 years old
- 15:04and they're asking you like, hey, you know, have have you
- 15:07practice this and you're like. They get into that like at 12
- 15:12and they start asking specific questions, like deeper than do
- 15:15you keep the law of chastity? But yeah, like, you could do a
- 15:18whole series on the Bishop's interviews.
- 15:20It's it's shocking and it's revolting and it has to be
- 15:24stopped. Yeah.
- 15:26Absolutely, like grown men shouldn't be asking those
- 15:29questions of children. I even learned what sex was at
- 15:33the age of 8. And that was only because my or
- 15:35my cousin got pregnant as a teenager.
- 15:38And so they kind of had to explain to me how that happened
- 15:41and whatever. But I, I just laughed the whole
- 15:44time that you gave me the talk. I was like, oh ha ha ha, funny
- 15:47that. Is that So?
- 15:48I can't even imagine being like put in that seat, having to
- 15:52explain it's. Really intimidating.
- 15:55It's really, really intimidating.
- 15:58Well and then what happens if a child has been abused and they
- 16:02talk about that to the Bishop? Then the Bishop usually has the
- 16:08girl repent for being assaulted. Oh good God.
- 16:15So it's the repentance and forgiveness process.
- 16:18If they find out anything happens they either keep it to
- 16:22themselves or they call Kirkton and Mcconkey which is A1800 line
- 16:27and they tell them basically how to not report it.
- 16:33So and this this might come off again as as kind of rude.
- 16:36I promise I try not. To no, it's OK.
- 16:38I I believe it's in good faith. You're all good.
- 16:42It's not Mormon anyway. Is it is it similar to kind of
- 16:46how the Church of Scientology does things of where they're
- 16:48very much in the process? And I know Lord that's laughing
- 16:53of like they they use it to like cover up or they or they do what
- 16:56they can to cover up it because it would just shed a negative
- 17:00light on the image of the church and as the same.
- 17:02As a whole. Yeah, pretty much they they
- 17:05focus on forgiveness and not being responsible.
- 17:12Yeah, that is so messed up even. If even if it's like a fellow,
- 17:16like even if it's a fellow church member that say does
- 17:19this, do they still they don't shun the member?
- 17:21They don't do anything really. No, no, if anything it's on the
- 17:26the girl or the child to forgive.
- 17:30And from the last time Stephanie was on here, it seems like they,
- 17:33you know, go to great lengths to cover up, cover up, hide, hide
- 17:41the person, you know, all kinds of different things.
- 17:44Yeah, they'll move them to different wards.
- 17:46Yeah, so now tell us about the baptismal experience after you
- 17:58talk to the Bishop and you do your worthiness, whatever that
- 18:02is. OK, once the 8 year old is
- 18:06worthy enough to be baptized, then OK.
- 18:12So it's like it's a couple hours process.
- 18:14You go in the church and you go in and like a completely white
- 18:18dress. And then you have your little
- 18:22program. And then during the program,
- 18:25after the, the many talks and songs, you go to a, it's almost
- 18:31like a, it's a built in font. So it's about 3 feet deep and
- 18:38it's just built into the floor. So all the kids gather around
- 18:42the front and, you know, the parents stand behind and then
- 18:45the child is in a fully white jumpsuit and so is the person
- 18:51baptizing them. And to baptize you, you actually
- 18:54have to have the priesthood. I believe it's the ironic
- 18:58priesthood that you have to have because.
- 19:02Yeah. And they just recently made a
- 19:04change with that too, didn't they?
- 19:05Because used to, I don't remember the, the verbiage that
- 19:08they use, but it was like the, the older members were
- 19:11essentially like the first people that you would report to.
- 19:13And then they've since like switched to a more like younger
- 19:17group, if I if I understood that correctly.
- 19:19You kind of choose who baptizes you.
- 19:22OK. So you you usually get a pick
- 19:25who you want to baptize you. And there's the ironic.
- 19:28And then there's the Melchizedek.
- 19:30Yep. The Melchizedek priesthood.
- 19:31Yep, Yep. And that, that's a whole nother
- 19:36rabbit hole to go down. Melchizedek bless you with the
- 19:40power of the Melchizedek priesthood has.
- 19:42To be somebody within the priesthood of some sort, to
- 19:46baptize, you can't just be like your dad or like a friend.
- 19:49That they have to have the priesthood and they have to be
- 19:52an active member and they have to have a worthiness interview
- 19:55before the baptism to determine that they're worthy to to do the
- 19:59baptism. It's a whole lot of steps.
- 20:02So in the a. Lot of steps, yeah, in the.
- 20:04Protestant, non denominational, it's everybody who's a Christian
- 20:12is part of the priesthood. So, yeah, I mean, once you
- 20:17become a Christian, you are a part of God's Kingdom and
- 20:20therefore then you are a royal priesthood sent out to tell
- 20:25everybody about God and Jesus. So it's not, that's why a lot of
- 20:33people have such a problem with the Pope.
- 20:35And like, for instance, I was, I grew up Baptist and my preacher
- 20:42was the head of the Southern Baptist Convention.
- 20:46He was the president. And yeah, Reverend Ronnie Floyd.
- 20:53Yeah, from Springdale, AR, where?
- 20:55The Duggars were. Yeah, where the?
- 20:57Duggars got. I thought that got interesting.
- 21:01They lived on that property, correct?
- 21:03They lived right next door. Next door, yeah.
- 21:06And that property ended up becoming the youth house after
- 21:10they moved out. So I guess the Duggars that was.
- 21:12Condemned initial or OK? So eventually, so with Mormon
- 21:16baptisms, once you go under like you have to be completely under,
- 21:20like if a toe pops up or if a hair pops up, have to re baptize
- 21:24them. Is it like that in other
- 21:26religions? No, and I even recall, I mean,
- 21:30they would, and I'm not even particularly religious or
- 21:32anything, but I just remember that you were supposed to get
- 21:35baptized and that was like something you were supposed to
- 21:37do. But I recall there was one time
- 21:40that there's some, there was somebody in like the hospital
- 21:42and he was about to die and somebody basically gave him like
- 21:45a sponge bath. And that was like his, that was,
- 21:49you know, their baptism. Yeah, they can.
- 21:52You can. You can almost do it with
- 21:54essentially any volume of water. But if you're, if you're able
- 21:56to, typically you can do it in the church, You can do it in
- 21:59like a river, a Creek, like you could even do it in a bathtub if
- 22:03you really want to. It's very much of like a
- 22:07personalization thing. And it's also completely it.
- 22:11It's completely optional. Like I'm like, I consider myself
- 22:14Christian. I don't consider myself the best
- 22:16Christian. But like, I myself haven't been
- 22:19baptized. So I used to always make the
- 22:20joke when I married a Catholic girl outside of the Catholic
- 22:24Church and I'm not baptized that if I go into the Catholic
- 22:26Church, I may or may not, you know, spontaneously combust
- 22:30because of that. But yeah, it is.
- 22:32It is actually a completely optional thing that you and
- 22:35technically you never have to do it throughout the entirety of
- 22:38your life. Interesting.
- 22:40Depends on where you're at because the where they're at
- 22:43they swear it's non denominational but they have
- 22:45very set rules like. You have no, I mean no.
- 22:52So anyways, what we believe is, is that the Bible says that you
- 23:01are baptized for the forgiveness of your sins and the gift of the
- 23:04Holy Spirit. And so that's our position is as
- 23:10you get baptized, once you once you believe, OK, so we ask you,
- 23:15do you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living
- 23:19God, your personal Lord, Lord and Savior?
- 23:23And then that's their confession of faith.
- 23:26And they're supposed to say that out loud, you know, just to say,
- 23:30hey, this is what I believe, a proclamation of faith.
- 23:35And then they dunk you on the under the water and say, I
- 23:40baptize you in the name of the Father, God of the Son Jesus
- 23:44Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins and the gift of the
- 23:47Holy Spirit. And then you rise up and you are
- 23:52a new person and you have the gift of the Holy Spirit.
- 23:55But I know that in the Mormon church, that's two separate
- 23:58events, baptism and then the gift of the.
- 24:00Holy Spirit, Yeah. Then confirmation.
- 24:03Yeah, OK. So explain that to.
- 24:04Us so OK, so after you're baptized you you go and change
- 24:08and kind of dry your hair a little bit and then you go back
- 24:11in the room with everyone else and then you have your
- 24:14confirmation. So the child sits down on the
- 24:16chair and there's a priesthood holder standing behind you and
- 24:21they anoint you with oil. And it's usually olive oil that
- 24:25they, they say a blessing of her.
- 24:26So they put it on your head, like usually two or three drops.
- 24:30It's weird. And then they place their hands
- 24:32on your head and it has to be done in a certain, certain way
- 24:38with the placing on the hands. And then then they give you the
- 24:41blessing of the Holy Ghost. And so that's when you receive
- 24:45it. I know that you guys don't have
- 24:48like a specific protocol for like anointing people, but I
- 24:51know you guys do it in specific circumstances.
- 24:53It's not necessarily to accept, you know, Jesus or whatever.
- 24:58I. Think there is certain protocols
- 24:59for anointing? Oh, I was talking.
- 25:02I'm sorry. I was looking at my mom.
- 25:05Sorry, my bad. As far as like her faith, like I
- 25:08think that sometimes they just will randomly like I think when
- 25:12dad got like his brain surgery. Yeah, it's when they usually
- 25:17anoint somebody whenever there's a sickness or something like
- 25:21that, that's a laying on of hands and anointing, you know,
- 25:26and praying. Mormons do it for everything.
- 25:29You worried about a test? Get a blessing from a priesthood
- 25:32holder. It's ridiculous.
- 25:33Oh my goodness. That would be a lot of running
- 25:37did. Your dog get lost, get a get a
- 25:40priesthood blessing. It'll all be OK.
- 25:42You have cancer, You have cancer.
- 25:44Don't worry about the hospital. Get the priesthood blessing.
- 25:46You'll be OK. See now to us it's just OK,
- 25:51let's pray. Pray.
- 25:53That's all you. Do you have to get a man to do?
- 25:55You have to have a worthy man to do it for you.
- 26:00See me? Just me just being.
- 26:02Specific. Me just being a smart aleck,
- 26:04like if I bring my own olive oil, is that like brownie
- 26:06points? Like it just has to get like
- 26:08blessed and then I can. Well, you do have to bring your
- 26:10own olive oil. It's not going to buy it.
- 26:14For you come. On No Extra Virgin.
- 26:17Yeah, yeah, Extra virgin. No olive.
- 26:25Oil No. Send olive oil No.
- 26:27Send olive oil. Now did they do a a a real olive
- 26:32oil test? I don't know, I.
- 26:35Don't know, it's got to be authentic.
- 26:37Please don't put cooking oil on my head weirdo.
- 26:39Like don't do it. This is already weird enough.
- 26:42So if I bring a bottle of Pam, it's wrong.
- 26:45Damn it, that is the wrong way. Don't ray the head down.
- 26:50Just a quick little like off topic thing because you guys are
- 26:53making comments about the olive oil.
- 26:55So I actually listened to this whole video about Doctor Oz the
- 26:58other day and how he's basically like a scammer or whatever.
- 27:01And he was part of the reason why that whole entire like fake
- 27:05olive oil thing like even spread.
- 27:08So there was like a little bit of olive oil that was like fake.
- 27:12But it turns out that that like conspiracy or that fact or that
- 27:16statistic was actually spread by California and their olive oil
- 27:21company, and they were like trying to like.
- 27:23Dirty little rumors. They were trying to say like.
- 27:26A gossiping little. Is Oh my gosh, yes.
- 27:30And it's so like it was like a whole thing.
- 27:32I don't know. Anyway, so that was just
- 27:33something I was just, I was. Just that's like that's worse
- 27:37than the, the, the, what is it called?
- 27:40You know, never mind everything. Basically there was a little bit
- 27:46of fake olive oil, you know, in rotation, but for the most part
- 27:50everything was OK And it was even, I want to say the New York
- 27:54Post. I could be totally wrong in
- 27:55that, do not quote me on that. But there was like a specific
- 27:59like organization or not organization, but a specific
- 28:03news source that said that. And then like 6 months later
- 28:06after the Doctor Oz thing came out, they're like, oh, they came
- 28:09out with these statistics, but we can't point where these
- 28:11statistics came from, but it came from you.
- 28:13So they were lying about it. And like 6 months later they
- 28:16were like oh I don't know where this even came from and it's
- 28:18anyway sorry. Thanks, Doctor Oz.
- 28:22Yeah, he's doing so great right now anyway, OK.
- 28:27Stephanie So baptism of the dead, OK?
- 28:32So. You are baptized, then you
- 28:37receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
- 28:40And from what I gathered, it sounds almost like all the kids
- 28:46from the church go on a field trip for the first time and
- 28:50start baptizing the dead. It it's kind of like that.
- 28:53OK, so I was in Salt Lake City when I went as a kid, and you
- 28:58start at age 12. OK.
- 29:00And then, of course, you have to have a worthiness interview
- 29:03before you can go to the temple where they ask you about your
- 29:05chastity and when they ask you if you touch yourself and how
- 29:10often you touch yourself and all those invasive questions because
- 29:14if you touch yourself, you're not allowed in the temple.
- 29:18You might give kids ideas, they might not have even known what
- 29:20that means. And that's like.
- 29:22No, no, But for real, for real, that's an issue, OK, and.
- 29:27Then my my next one would be, does it really matter how often
- 29:30you touch yourself at that point?
- 29:31Like if it's just a sin like it's a sin like, I don't think.
- 29:34It really. Matter.
- 29:36All day, every day, every hour, it's a.
- 29:38Goal on. The hour.
- 29:41Yeah, so like age 12 is when it starts to get really culty
- 29:45because the girls go into what's called young women's and you
- 29:49start with these pledges and you like, I'm not going to repeat it
- 29:55because it's going to get stuck in my head, OK?
- 29:58It won't leave for another couple months.
- 30:00So. But yeah, it's like when stuff
- 30:04gets really culty, it's also like around 12:00, that's when
- 30:07you start preparing for marriage too, so.
- 30:11OK so this this might also be semi off topic but again it I
- 30:16had to unfortunately explain this term to my mom one day as I
- 30:19was like talking to her about the Mormon faith.
- 30:21Talk about soaking, are you? Absolutely.
- 30:24I have to act like, do they consider?
- 30:27That explain how you do it. No, I know that part, that it,
- 30:31it takes a whole lot of extra people and like, like I just
- 30:35don't. Need a bed jumper is.
- 30:37That real what? Yes, it's like, have you ever
- 30:40heard about soaking? I mean.
- 30:42Oh, Amber. Oh, Amber.
- 30:43You're. Going.
- 30:46To be so embarrassed looking at that, but I'm going to love it.
- 30:49Yeah. Well, I guess I don't know what
- 30:51I I guess I don't know the mechanics of soaking.
- 30:54So the if I understand, understand, and Steph, you can
- 30:56correct me if I'm wrong. It it it's kind of like they
- 30:59tried to find a loophole around sex of you still do penetration,
- 31:04which again, logically, scientifically, yeah, just just.
- 31:08And when you when you do that, you don't actually do the
- 31:12movement. You have a new version of a cuck
- 31:16basically hold the mattress and shake you to create the friction
- 31:21because you're not actually performing in the sexual act.
- 31:25You're just there. You're just the body, but you're
- 31:29not being you're being moved, you're not moving yourself.
- 31:32So loophole for the whole. Loophole.
- 31:35You did not do it. I just thought it meant put it
- 31:40in and just leave it there and don't move.
- 31:42No, no. You're involving other people.
- 31:44It's really weird. It's really creepy, I mean.
- 31:49That is a thing that's like that is a.
- 31:51Thing that is a thing that happens at BYU in Utah all the
- 31:55freaking time. All the time.
- 31:57Myth. So it's real.
- 32:00It's real. And my advice is just do it.
- 32:02Just do it just. Have sex.
- 32:05I mean, isn't it worse to involve a third person anyway?
- 32:08It's like the audience if you're already going to get hard, just.
- 32:12Threesome, what you're going to do.
- 32:15It's a glorified cook because they just, they just watch it
- 32:17help move the bed. They don't actually perform in
- 32:19it because that would be silly. That's insane.
- 32:22And then for the person that is the glorified cook is.
- 32:26Just do it. Just do it.
- 32:27It's so much better if you just do it.
- 32:29Do. They get paid off.
- 32:31No, you're just. Awkward for the rest of the time
- 32:36we know each other at college it.
- 32:38Depends on your relationship, but.
- 32:41And and I don't, I don't know if you did it, Stephanie, you don't
- 32:43have to share if you if you did or didn't.
- 32:44Like no, but I do. Have to ask how do those
- 32:47conversations go of like hey man, I'm I'm like really at the
- 32:51edge. I don't.
- 32:53Know I don't know I I was a child bride so I was married off
- 32:56before, you know, before I could start soaking.
- 33:02Well, thank God she avoids soaking via child marriage.
- 33:08That's insane. Oh my goodness.
- 33:09I literally had this conversation with somebody the
- 33:12other day and I was like, no, I'm pretty sure it's like a myth
- 33:14and maybe some people have done it, but I doubt no it's.
- 33:17Not a myth, and a lot of people do it and they'll admit to doing
- 33:21it. So what does the leadership
- 33:24think about I mean? I mean, obviously it's not
- 33:26great. I mean, they're not telling
- 33:30them. OK, OK.
- 33:32I mean. Because they're conscious here,
- 33:34because they didn't actually do it.
- 33:35They were just sitting right. They just put.
- 33:38My Dick. Out.
- 33:43Laura, Laura, I'm. Just sitting there and it just.
- 33:47Accidentally. You know, with the cock out.
- 33:49They say is that what they mean by I was I was walking down the
- 33:52street and then I just fell inside.
- 33:54I didn't I didn't I didn't want to do this.
- 33:57It just it happened. Thank.
- 33:59You, Laura, for me, for helping me make everyone in the in the
- 34:02comments uncomfortable. I love it.
- 34:04It's my. Favorite hobby?
- 34:07You know, a weird question, but is purity ring culture?
- 34:10Is that a thing? Not so much in the Mormon
- 34:14church. It's just expected.
- 34:15Without a ring? OK, that's more like, Oh, no,
- 34:21that's more like Duggars. Well.
- 34:25I have a. Purity ring.
- 34:26You might you just notice OK, you don't do the.
- 34:29Purity rigs like come on, just just child marriage.
- 34:34I actually started wearing my purity ring again, maybe like
- 34:362020. And I texted that I was like, do
- 34:38you think it's OK for me to wear this again even though I'm like
- 34:41living with a man because it's just pretty?
- 34:45And he's like, oh, that's your own decision, Hon.
- 34:47And I. Think I lost it.
- 34:49I left it in Florida. On accident, but it was.
- 34:53Yeah, it was the Jonas Brothers, the Jonas Brothers and Miley
- 34:55Cyrus, even though they were getting it on.
- 34:58That's besides the point, though.
- 34:59That's why she wanted one I. Wanted one.
- 35:01Yeah. Which, you know what?
- 35:02Now, you know, we were talking about baptism earlier at an
- 35:06early age of eight. And we are all, even you, we
- 35:11were all kind of like at 8. Can you really decide that?
- 35:13But I was 5 when y'all let me get back.
- 35:16No and. I had a good experience, I'm
- 35:19glad. Like I look back on it fondly
- 35:22and I love my father and we have some really cute pictures from
- 35:25it. But a 5 year old doesn't know
- 35:28shit about an. 8 year old. We tried like.
- 35:33I wanted to be a part of the cool.
- 35:34Club she she really like, she had all the answers.
- 35:38I mean, we sat there and talked to her for the longest time, for
- 35:41months, you know, and she would cry every day when I'd pick her
- 35:45up home from school 'cause we'd have like a 45 minute drive.
- 35:51And so the whole way there she would just be crying.
- 35:54I want to get baptized. I even remember stopping in a
- 35:58parking lot and just being like, oh Laura, you're only 5 'cause.
- 36:03She wants to be like mom, yeah. So it's just so we allowed her
- 36:09to do it. We allowed her to do it and you
- 36:12know, I mean, it was her decision.
- 36:14I don't think what you guys did was wrong or anything like that,
- 36:16I don't think. That in like a.
- 36:17Critical way you guys didn't push it on no.
- 36:20We. Did not.
- 36:21Yeah, and it's it's very much in the Mormon church, like at 8 you
- 36:25get baptized like it's everybody does it so.
- 36:29I remember much. Pushed.
- 36:31Joyce and Charles is a doll. So your dad's been on NPR with
- 36:35Joel lately? Yeah.
- 36:36I love, I love my dad. He's a great guy.
- 36:39He really? Is we angry on a lot of things?
- 36:41But I love him with my whole heart.
- 36:43And he just got his so that. Was loud.
- 36:48Oops. Yeah, so he had a brain tumor
- 36:51removed in October right before Halloween and everything was
- 36:57going well. And then all of a sudden in
- 37:01April it started getting infected down at the bottom of
- 37:04the the surgical scar and it just kept getting infected and
- 37:10kept getting infected. So they took him in on Thursday
- 37:14and reopened it up and cleaned it out and everything.
- 37:17So now he's got this huge scar on his head again.
- 37:21So it. Never really went away, but.
- 37:24Yeah, but it's like. Now it freaked me out.
- 37:27He's like a Laura. Can you take a picture of this
- 37:29for me so I can? See what it looks like?
- 37:34It was, it was gnarly, but he's such a trooper man.
- 37:37But you know what? He will not do anything for days
- 37:42at a time. But the second that he has to do
- 37:44something or the second he gets surgery, he's like, you know
- 37:47what, I'm going to be the most productive I've been in 15.
- 37:50Years. Like I'm going to start doing
- 37:52stuff. Oh I know that my doctor said
- 37:54not to move but here I am. But he texted me yesterday,
- 38:00yesterday, I think, Yeah. And he's like, can you put the
- 38:02clothes or can you put my comforter in the dryer?
- 38:05Because it's too much for me right now.
- 38:07And then I'm like, OK, that's cool.
- 38:09I'm just going shopping real quick.
- 38:10And as soon as I get back from grocery shopping, I'll come
- 38:12down. So I came home early and I did
- 38:15all this stuff and he's like, oh, I already put it in there.
- 38:17I was like, what? It's only been like 20 minutes.
- 38:19He's like, yeah, I just didn't want to wait.
- 38:21I was like, OK, you got this. You had to go down the stairs to
- 38:25even do that. Oh my goodness, Dad.
- 38:27I love him. Well.
- 38:28Yesterday also fixed the AC avis he's.
- 38:33A. Trooper.
- 38:34And he's playing with his plants.
- 38:36The. Day.
- 38:38After brain surgery or like 2 days, it was like the day of
- 38:41Halloween. We were doing our live stream
- 38:43and you guys can check and figure it out.
- 38:45Just look at the dates on our live streams, I think anyway, I
- 38:50don't know was he dressed up as a shark and like bobbing his
- 38:53head even though he. Just got brain.
- 38:54Surgery the day before. You may not have been on there
- 38:57with me. I don't think I was on there.
- 38:59I was dressed up as Fiona. Yeah, so anyways, my husband is
- 39:04crazy, crazy. OK, sounds.
- 39:07Like a trooper, Jeez. That's a lot.
- 39:09To go through. I'm glad he's doing OK, no.
- 39:14He's doing as OK if he can. He's good, he's good.
- 39:19So Stephanie, OK, let's get back to baptism of the day.
- 39:23So you were 12 when you first started doing this after your
- 39:28confirmation and all that or whatever that was.
- 39:31And so you describe the very first time you did it.
- 39:38OK, so I was 12 and in Utah they do early morning baptisms for
- 39:44the dead. So you meet up at the church at
- 39:475:30 and you drive in these big vans to the to the temple.
- 39:52And then you go in and you basically like you change your
- 39:57clothes into these white jumpsuits with white underwear.
- 40:01And then you're just waiting there for your name to be
- 40:05called. And then when it's your turn,
- 40:07you go in this fountain that's surrounded by 12 oxen and it's
- 40:10supposed to stand for the 12 tribes of Israel.
- 40:13And you go in and it's. About.
- 40:16Three feet deep again. Yeah, about waist deep.
- 40:20And then they have a list of names and they dunk you for each
- 40:26name. So they'll say, like in the name
- 40:30of Anne Frank, I baptize you and dunk you and.
- 40:36I say all the all the research I had done and like the the
- 40:40controversy that really came about that I know one of the
- 40:42biggest ones was like because the publication and the list of
- 40:46basically all of the Holocaust victims, they did it like hand
- 40:50Frank and them and then immediately turned around and
- 40:54were like, we're also going to do it for Adolf Hitler.
- 40:56And you know also yeah, yeah. They because, and Steph can
- 41:02correct me if I'm wrong, they the idea is they want to give
- 41:06everybody, the everybody the opportunity to basically accept
- 41:12that into their heart, whether they're living or past, no
- 41:17matter how atrocious of a person they were alive.
- 41:21Yeah. Mormons will take anyone, living
- 41:24or dead, that. Actually makes me think and I
- 41:27didn't really do any research other than like the stuff that
- 41:29I've just heard over the years, you know, But so theoretically,
- 41:35so you as a former Mormon, you had to abide by chastity.
- 41:41You had to do Lord knows what just to stay in their good
- 41:44graces and not be like the worst person in the world in their
- 41:47minds. But as Tony said, literally
- 41:52Hitler. Literally Hitler got.
- 41:55Baptized. Baptized after death?
- 41:57So theoretically, could I just live my life the way that I want
- 42:01to and then you guys just baptize me when I'm dead and
- 42:04then it's all good? Like who cares how I lived?
- 42:08You would think that, right? Like you would think that.
- 42:12Is it not that I'm genuinely asking?
- 42:15Yeah. Like is there, like is there a
- 42:16for sure one thing that you do in this life?
- 42:18The Mormons are like, absolutely not, not, not even.
- 42:21We will try to save you. I don't think so, yeah.
- 42:24Maybe that's. Actually, actually, yes, that is
- 42:27the line. That's the line.
- 42:30Poor Lindsey. Graham.
- 42:39Poor guys still closeted in wherever he's at.
- 42:44He was just trying to. He was just trying to join his
- 42:47soulmate. Mitch McConnell, who did not, is
- 42:50not kicking. I'm telling you.
- 42:52OK, so Stephanie, so when you got into that bad baptismal font
- 42:58to baptize people by proxy, did you have a list that you had
- 43:03compiled yourself or did they have a list?
- 43:06They have a list. OK, but I.
- 43:08Lost and list and list. People will submit names, so
- 43:11they'll go and do their genealogy and they'll say, Oh
- 43:15my, my grandmother's sister wasn't Mormon, let's baptize her
- 43:20you. Know.
- 43:22OK, so but I thought that they had to be related.
- 43:27I think want it to be, but no, you don't have to be related
- 43:31because obviously someone baptized Hitler.
- 43:33Yeah. I think, I think the way that if
- 43:37I remember it was explained because they received a lot of,
- 43:41you know, controversy over doing all of these people that are
- 43:45listed on here. Was they they did they do the
- 43:49genealogy to reach back and then basically anybody that you could
- 43:54potentially be tied to as far as your genealogy goes.
- 43:58And I think their theory was for like every two generations, so
- 44:03every like 20 years, you can have up to like a million or
- 44:07something like relatives or ancestors basically.
- 44:12And if you go back like 40 year, like 4 generations, it's like
- 44:16400 years, you can have like 10 million or like a trillion or
- 44:19something like that. So that I guess that's again a
- 44:23loophole that they use to like branch out as the reason to be
- 44:27able to, you know, baptize everybody basically.
- 44:30OK, so my mom did her genealogy and found that she found she was
- 44:35related to Robert E Lee. OK.
- 44:37And so she submitted his name. I know, right?
- 44:40Right. So of a whammy.
- 44:45There. I was thinking about that today
- 44:48and I was like, man, if I was Mormon, I could baptize Henry
- 44:52the Eighth. You could.
- 44:54You really could I, I guess. I guess sometimes you can take
- 44:58your own names, but usually you don't have your own, you know,
- 45:01'cause kids don't usually do genealogy, so unless their
- 45:05parents send them with a list of names, they would just use the
- 45:09the ones in the temple that haven't been baptized.
- 45:11So I. Also saw that they go to
- 45:14graveyards and get names just. Interesting, interesting.
- 45:20Some people might do that. Because one thing I had heard,
- 45:24yeah. So they would take.
- 45:26It's more typically they said like teenagers and college kids,
- 45:29they'll take them and they'll have them go to like graveyards
- 45:32and they basically just take pictures of the gravestones to
- 45:36get the name to get the date that they were alive and the
- 45:38date that they were, then the date that they passed.
- 45:41And then that also goes in part of their information collecting.
- 45:45And they have like 3 buildings, I don't remember the location
- 45:48but they're under like heavy lock and key of basically all of
- 45:52this archival data. Oh, the Church History Center.
- 45:56I believe so and. Then yeah, yeah.
- 45:58There's tons. There's tons and tons and tons
- 46:01of data at the Church History Center.
- 46:03And then the they even partnered with Congress to basically get
- 46:07some of this information, make copies of it, and then send it
- 46:10back. But then they kept the copies
- 46:12for their own for their own list and purposes to use.
- 46:16Interesting. So do you think that the Mormons
- 46:20might have like a either run or have a big part in graves.com?
- 46:26So like, I'm pretty sure it's called graves dot probably you
- 46:29could just probably find a grave.
- 46:31It's find a grave. Oh, find a grave, that's what it
- 46:34is. Google your grandpa or whoever
- 46:35is dead and they're gonna be on there, I swear to God.
- 46:39Crazy. That's just sounds funny.
- 46:42Google your grandpa. Also, joy, I feel you on a
- 46:46spiritual level without spending a lot of time in cemeteries.
- 46:49I haven't been to a cemetery in a while, but like there's
- 46:51something kind of just almost peaceful about it.
- 46:54I remember a couple years ago I got kind of like emotional, like
- 46:57I was all e-mail and I was like, I have nobody just spend my
- 47:00birthday with and you guys are going to like meet up with fancy
- 47:02on my birthday, funny enough. Like.
- 47:05You bitches anyway, so. So I.
- 47:09Was like, oh, OK. I was like, so I'm going to do
- 47:12something and I was like, I was like, I'm going to drive to a
- 47:15graveyard and I'm just going to find somebody.
- 47:17I'm going to try to look for somebody with my same birthday.
- 47:19And I'm going to sit there and we're going to have a drink and
- 47:21we're going to celebrate our birthday together.
- 47:23And then like I was in, I was in a certain town that's not the
- 47:27town I live in. And I was driving around and I
- 47:30looked up a specific cemetery. And when I got there, it like
- 47:33took me to like in an apartment complex and it was like, oh, did
- 47:36they build on top of a cemetery? I'm like, bad vibes, bad vibes.
- 47:40So I just drove home and I didn't do all that.
- 47:41But I've had happy. Birthdays in the cemetery
- 47:44before. They say, wasn't that the whole
- 47:46premise behind the Poltergeist movie?
- 47:47That terrified me as like a young child that.
- 47:52We saw the poltergeist clown. They say but but I can't say
- 47:57much 'cause there's a cemetery literally right next to the
- 48:01little housing area that I live in.
- 48:03So I take my dog for a walk through the cemetery all the
- 48:06time. Usually more in the colder.
- 48:07Don't find any. Bones, No, I try not to let her
- 48:10like do any type of like bathroom in the bathroom.
- 48:13I'm like no, like if you can pee on the road, you can poop on the
- 48:17road. You're not pooping in the actual
- 48:19grass anywhere near the graves. Stay away.
- 48:21Pee. On the gravestone, no.
- 48:24Yeah, just 'cause he. Used to take you walking.
- 48:27That was one time. No, no, no.
- 48:30I must say this real quick because she's probably almost
- 48:32dead if nothing because she's old.
- 48:34So whatever. I'm pissed about this still.
- 48:37OK so people who watch this show probably already know, but my
- 48:41grandpa, her father took his own life, OK when I was like 9 years
- 48:45old. So.
- 48:48So here was like the house that he took.
- 48:51Here's the house he took his own life in.
- 48:54And then there was like a small apartment complex.
- 48:56And then on the other side was a graveyard, OK.
- 49:00For years, for years, I could not even drive past the house
- 49:04where he took his own life, or else I'd have like, a whole
- 49:06meltdown. OK, So our children's minister
- 49:10at the church that we used to go to misses Ingi three years after
- 49:15my grandpa took his own life and I was still not like even
- 49:19comfortable driving past you at this point.
- 49:21She was watching us while my uncle, her brother was dying of
- 49:25cancer in the in the hospital. I'm sorry, I'm not laughing at
- 49:29him dying of cancer. The whole situation just so
- 49:32funny. So Mip is Angie decided that
- 49:35because she decided that she was going to watch us or she was
- 49:37like nice enough to watch us, which thank you.
- 49:39Thank you for watching us while my uncle was dying.
- 49:42So we didn't have to watch all that stuff go down.
- 49:44But where does she take us while my uncle is dying of cancer?
- 49:47She's graveyard that is right next to the house or my grandpa
- 49:52night in. OK.
- 49:54And she's like, no, we're just like, I was like, do you know
- 49:56anybody here? She's like, no, I don't.
- 49:58We just like to, you know, visit the graves and, you know, give
- 50:01them flowers and do stuff. I was like, are you?
- 50:04Are you kidding me? I'm sorry that's your therapy.
- 50:08Yeah. That was that.
- 50:11Was messed up. I'm sorry.
- 50:12I was like 12, was like six. I'm sorry.
- 50:21OK, so let's get back to bed. My bad.
- 50:25OK, so. They dunk you, they dunk you
- 50:28like 8 to 10 times. And then if you're in this like,
- 50:32white jumpsuit and you have to walk past the line of people to
- 50:35go back to the changing room and change into your like,
- 50:39confirmation clothes. And then you'll go in another
- 50:42room and they'll do the confirmations for each of the
- 50:45baptisms that you did. And then after that, you go for
- 50:49breakfast. And we always went to Einstein
- 50:52Bagels. So like, that was the highlight
- 50:55of it. So basically.
- 50:58Yeah, it was a field trip. Yeah, absolutely.
- 51:01That is so bizarre. An early morning field trip.
- 51:06What did they tell you about this?
- 51:08I mean, do do you actually believe in your secret?
- 51:11Ordinance. They make you believe that
- 51:16people are waiting on the other side to be baptized so they can
- 51:21accept their Lord and Savior. So they they make you feel like
- 51:26you're doing a really good thing for these people because you're
- 51:29giving them the opportunity to become Mormon.
- 51:31And the Mormons are the only true church.
- 51:33Duh. Fair.
- 51:39So, yeah, it's kind of like a, a guilt thing.
- 51:42Like you, you have to do it, otherwise they'll never get to
- 51:45heaven. So I mean, I know some of it's
- 51:50probably even self-explanatory, especially with like Adolf and
- 51:53Ava Braun. So they so even the sins that
- 51:58are like, you know, the key part of the Bible, like thou shalt
- 52:00not kill, like all the, all the commandments and everything like
- 52:03that that go along with it. And the the what is considered
- 52:06the ultimate sin of, you know, suicide?
- 52:09They they don't even use that as like a, you know, this is kind
- 52:13of like the ultimate because again, like at least in proud
- 52:16of, you know, being a Protestant Catholicism.
- 52:19I'm sure Amber can attest this for non denominational.
- 52:21Like if you, our what we've always been taught was basically
- 52:26if you decide to take the forever nap, like you're either,
- 52:29you are automatically going down, you're burning for
- 52:32eternity. Like there is no exception to
- 52:35being saved basically. I think.
- 52:36That's what they tell you, but but then they'll do the baptisms
- 52:40for the dead and say on the other side that you have a
- 52:43chance to accept it. I think that's more of a
- 52:46Catholic belief than Protestant non denomination.
- 52:50Oh man, y'all always told me Papa was in hell.
- 52:53I always said that because of I I always said that because of
- 52:56the crap that was going on the. Mormons had this really weird
- 53:00thing that they did in the 1800s and actually actually through
- 53:05about the 1980s. It's called blood atonement
- 53:09though. Like the idea was basically you
- 53:14end their life before they can commit more sin, so you're
- 53:19saving them by ending their life.
- 53:22Oh my gosh. So so true Religious.
- 53:26Like not legalized but religiously supported murder
- 53:30basically. Yeah.
- 53:33So the most recent incidents of it was actually, I think the
- 53:37Lebaron family. They were.
- 53:40There's a really cool documentary about it.
- 53:45Yeah. It sounds a little bit like
- 53:46Valo, yeah. Yeah.
- 53:49And that's actually where I kind of got introduced to everything.
- 53:53I was really wondering if she was trying to do a blood
- 53:55atonement with them, like what was she doing exactly?
- 54:01Isn't it possible? Isn't there like a or was like a
- 54:04vengeance atonement too or a vengeance pact or something that
- 54:12they used to do as well? Well, they would, they would.
- 54:21Or see here Porter Rockwell was a mercenary for the church and
- 54:26basically he went after people who left the church and spoke
- 54:29I'll of it and he would kill them.
- 54:32Is that is that kind of what you're thinking?
- 54:35Maybe. Maybe.
- 54:39Yeah, that's insane. Porter Rockwell is really
- 54:41interesting. So actually in the next town
- 54:44over from where I live, there's called Bluffdale.
- 54:47So they have a statue of Porter Rockwell there.
- 54:50And like, do these people actually like, know what Porter
- 54:56Rockwell did? So I do have AI do have another
- 55:00question because again, just seeing it from TikTok of like
- 55:04interviews with students from BYU and other Mormons and
- 55:07whatnot. I know, I know it's one of
- 55:11those. It's like probably not the
- 55:12greatest source, but it's also like the most natural,
- 55:15unfiltered source of information you can you can potentially get
- 55:20what what is the Mormons obsession with like John Smith
- 55:24and where do they like put him in the higher or yes, Joseph.
- 55:29I don't I thought Jonas like basic name like yeah, right.
- 55:33Pocahontas movie, like they it seems like honestly, if you had
- 55:37to put it in like a tiered hierarchy that's like God and
- 55:41Jesus are like neck and neck and then like.
- 55:43Joseph Smith, like Joseph Smith. Like right underneath there I'm
- 55:46like. He's the founder of the
- 55:48religion. Like the way they make it seem
- 55:52because they'll they'll ask him just crazy questions of like,
- 55:54you know, would you rather murder a puppy or talk to Joseph
- 55:57Smith? And they're like, or like or, or
- 55:59something. It was like something crazy.
- 56:00They're like. No.
- 56:01Would you rather murder a puppy or drink being like something
- 56:05dumb like that? Yeah, and they're like alter the
- 56:07puppy and. I'm like, you're freaking idiot.
- 56:09Yeah, yeah, it makes you want to smack a kid.
- 56:12Yes. Absolutely.
- 56:13And they're college kids, so they're of legal age at.
- 56:16BYU, they're asking people at BYU these really weird questions
- 56:21and yeah, and they give the most horrifying answers.
- 56:26I'm going to have to look at that.
- 56:27You're going to have to look at it, yeah.
- 56:29But it does just seem like they hold Joseph Smith in such a high
- 56:33regard because of him the founding.
- 56:35Like, I just wanted to know, is there like, where does he, you
- 56:38know, hierarchically stand like in the Mormon church?
- 56:45God, Jesus. Joseph Smith.
- 56:46Pretty much, Yeah. Yeah.
- 56:51For prophet that the scam artist and.
- 56:55There's over 400 offshoots from the Mormon church and it seems
- 56:59like all of them believe in Joseph Smith.
- 57:04Funnily enough, I believe that Joseph Smith was associated with
- 57:10the Christian Church or Stone Campbell movement in the early
- 57:15days and they even were like hey dude, you got to leave.
- 57:21Probably, probably. I think that.
- 57:26Happened with him and with who's the guy that did the People's
- 57:30Temple Jones? Jim Jones.
- 57:35Jim Jones. Yeah, he was.
- 57:36That was. Christian, Church, denomination,
- 57:39whatever. That was my first thought.
- 57:41I was like, man, Jim Jones, all you need to do is look at Joseph
- 57:43Smith's like template, I guess. And well.
- 57:46Warren Jeffs followed Joseph Smith's template, like exactly
- 57:50to AT. Oh, really?
- 57:52Yeah. Though there's there's not much
- 57:55difference between Joseph Smith and Warren Jeffs.
- 57:58He followed like he studied Joseph Smith.
- 58:00He followed him and like he used his playbook.
- 58:04I watched part of that documentary.
- 58:06I didn't watch the whole thing that just came out and I think
- 58:10it was the guy that took over for.
- 58:12Warren. Jeffs, Sam.
- 58:15He didn't take over for Warren Jeffs, Sam Bateman.
- 58:18He just wanted he yeah, he pretended and he, he convinced
- 58:22maybe, you know, like a few men. And those men gave him his their
- 58:29daughters and wives. And it's really freaking creepy.
- 58:32He convinced them that Warren Jeffs had died in prison.
- 58:37I heard about. That he convinced a couple
- 58:39people, but everybody knew that. Like I heard that Sam was a
- 58:44weirdo like from his his cousins, like they're like he
- 58:48was just weird. He was kind of an outcast and
- 58:52nobody expected him to do anything like that because they
- 58:55didn't expect anyone to follow him.
- 58:58Yeah, he does not seem like somebody.
- 59:01It's. Not the brightest bulb in the
- 59:03bunch, it weren't. Some of his wives like as young
- 59:06as 9. Yes.
- 59:08Oh. 9:10 and 11:00, yeah. I didn't.
- 59:12We were. Moroni Johnson's kids.
- 59:15This man handed over his daughters.
- 59:18Oh my goodness, yeah, 'cause I saw at least one of the people,
- 59:21'cause I watched like the end of it, 'cause you started watching
- 59:23it and then I just watched part of what you were already
- 59:26watching. But I remember there was like a
- 59:28guy that ended up having to go to jail for at least a little
- 59:31bit because he he had participated and all of that
- 59:34stuff and like let his daughter have it.
- 59:36And he realized, quote UN quote, realized the error of his way.
- 59:40So it's like how. Yeah.
- 59:41After he was being arrested. What the fuck.
- 59:43Like maybe realized when someone asks you to hand over your 9
- 59:47year old that they're a freaking pedophile.
- 59:49And don't do it well, I would. I totally agree with that.
- 59:53That's when. Someone says I want to marry
- 59:55your 9 year old. That should give you a fucking
- 59:57clue that it's not wholesome. Right.
- 1:00:02Yeah, I mean, I just don't even understand where somebody's head
- 1:00:06could be to even like that, to even be a reality.
- 1:00:12Yeah, I don't. I don't get it either.
- 1:00:14And I don't. I don't want to understand.
- 1:00:16I don't. I don't want to be in their
- 1:00:19heads if that makes sense. No, 'cause it's disgusting.
- 1:00:23I mean, they're absolutely. I don't get it and I'm fine with
- 1:00:25not getting it. And they should just be swelling
- 1:00:30under the sea. I wouldn't disagree with that.
- 1:00:34You know, Mad Pops, that Lady, I forgot her name again because I
- 1:00:37didn't watch the whole thing, but the lady who actually did
- 1:00:40that whole basically sting operation.
- 1:00:43Christine. Christine yes, I remember she
- 1:00:46was also in a Sister Wives episode.
- 1:00:48She it was like a panel of a bunch of different people who
- 1:00:51had left polygamy and all the sister wives were trying to
- 1:00:55vehemently defend their stance on polygamy.
- 1:00:59And I remember Christine Brown, she, well, I guess woolly now
- 1:01:02she started just sobbing. She's like, I don't want to face
- 1:01:04my aunt. I don't want to face you people
- 1:01:06who don't agree with my lifestyle, but look at it all
- 1:01:09now. All of them left.
- 1:01:11All of them left and realized wow, polygamy kind of sucks.
- 1:01:14I can't watch that show, that guy drives me nuts.
- 1:01:19People who who justify polygamy and try to say that it's, you
- 1:01:23know, a great way to live, they're lying to you.
- 1:01:26Yeah. It's not good for anyone.
- 1:01:30No, my dad gets so annoyed. I remember the other day he was
- 1:01:32like taking a nap on the couch. She's like, oh, you can switch a
- 1:01:35channel, don't worry. And so I put on Sister Wives.
- 1:01:37He's like, I'm going to go to sleep in my room.
- 1:01:39I can't even do that trying to fall asleep.
- 1:01:42He's like, that dude just pisses me off so bad.
- 1:01:44Which again, one of my little side tangents that I always go
- 1:01:48on. So Cody Brown was on this TV
- 1:01:53show called Special Forces last year.
- 1:01:56Do you know what I'm talking about, Steph?
- 1:01:58Yes, I know what you're talking about, but I didn't watch it
- 1:02:00because, OK, Cody Brown. Like, why would I want to watch
- 1:02:03Cody Brown? He's a doofus like.
- 1:02:06I heard he kind of got bullied by Brianna Chicken Fry, the
- 1:02:08chick that was dating Zac Brown. Anyway, doesn't matter.
- 1:02:11Not Zac Brown being a part of the Brown family anyway, doesn't
- 1:02:14matter regardless. I have no idea.
- 1:02:16So anyway, I wanted to watch that but they just announced
- 1:02:19that. I've never even seen the show by
- 1:02:20the way. I just heard like highlights of
- 1:02:22Cody being on there. But so this year, they just
- 1:02:26announced the cast, and the new cast has Colin Gosselin the guy
- 1:02:32that the kid. Oh yeah.
- 1:02:34OK. George Santos.
- 1:02:37Why? Why?
- 1:02:38George Santos, What did he lie about to get on the show?
- 1:02:44The drama and Ruby Rose. What?
- 1:02:48Yes, all these people. So I have to watch this season
- 1:02:52because apparently like Kate Gosselin was in special forces,
- 1:02:56but then she hurt herself on like the first episode and she
- 1:02:58went home. And so like Colin doing it as
- 1:03:00like an F you to his mom such. A bitch.
- 1:03:02About. So.
- 1:03:04Such a bitch. I always thought she was I'd I'd
- 1:03:07be watching it and I'd be like she treats him like shit.
- 1:03:11Like could she be any more condescending to that man?
- 1:03:14Like I just felt so bad for him the whole time.
- 1:03:18I think she's the one that started.
- 1:03:19Can I speak to the manager? Haircut.
- 1:03:22No, for real. For real.
- 1:03:25Yeah, for real. So can we classify as it that as
- 1:03:28its own religion 'cause it's all the universal like Karen, Bob
- 1:03:31cut they all have like like, did she just like start that?
- 1:03:34The Karens were like, Oh my God, that's the one.
- 1:03:37That's the haircut. We need to just know.
- 1:03:40That's it, Leader. That's it.
- 1:03:44We'll follow your every word. Yes.
- 1:03:46We want to speak to the manager. You were.
- 1:03:49You were right. Yeah.
- 1:03:53Yeah, I know. Karens, I know that don't rock
- 1:03:56the Bob, but that really should. Yeah, it's, it's so uncanny how
- 1:04:03many people have that haircut that genuinely act like that.
- 1:04:06And it's like, I don't know if it's just the vibe of that.
- 1:04:10Whole. Look or what do.
- 1:04:12You remember that person? No, I.
- 1:04:14Think you need to be a certain type of person to to wear that
- 1:04:16haircut. And I think it's the I would
- 1:04:19like to speak to your manager right now.
- 1:04:22So here's the other question, like if like if they go to say
- 1:04:26like the salon or whoever to get their like their hair done, do
- 1:04:29they like, I just need something new?
- 1:04:32You know what? I had the perfect haircut for
- 1:04:34you that I think would just fit you perfectly.
- 1:04:38What do you think of this? Oh, I love it.
- 1:04:40Yep, I knew it. I think what it is.
- 1:04:43Is, you know, you're normally supposed to show like a
- 1:04:45reference pic like this is what I kind of want to look like if
- 1:04:48we can achieve it. And so anybody that shows
- 1:04:50anything within that wheelhouse, they have to automatically
- 1:04:54already be a bitch. It's.
- 1:04:56Like, no, right? Do you want to look like, you
- 1:05:01know, a chicken? Like it's that spiky and I don't
- 1:05:06know. Especially look.
- 1:05:09Man. Highlights.
- 1:05:10I would just not say that we highlighted the.
- 1:05:13Bangs. With the.
- 1:05:14Spikes in the back. Thank God I never had a haircut
- 1:05:21like that. I did have the Rachel.
- 1:05:23Ugly haircuts No. There was no, there was one
- 1:05:27haircut that I it was really bad and I just.
- 1:05:30Rachel. Rachel.
- 1:05:31Oh, like Rachel from Friends. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:34Oh, but nobody. 'S had to have that haircut.
- 1:05:37I had. Right after Jamaica.
- 1:05:40I know that's what I was. Just about to say and you were
- 1:05:43with Rachel, who can go? Or something.
- 1:05:47Yeah, I went. Right after my son was born, I
- 1:05:50cut my hair really short. Like really short and it was
- 1:05:55bad. And then I went to Jamaica and
- 1:05:58the little girls wanted to braid my hair and so I had all these
- 1:06:01little braids just picking up everywhere it was.
- 1:06:06So bad. I love you, you're beautiful.
- 1:06:08But that was so bad. It was.
- 1:06:09Really. Good you.
- 1:06:11Go OK, we're all good though. It was really bad.
- 1:06:14Oh God. 2005. Yeah, yeah, 2005.
- 1:06:18Oh, that was, yeah, that was the time for that haircut.
- 1:06:21Not for that haircut. Well, in in my defense, I just
- 1:06:25had my son and I was just like over it, 'cause my hair is so
- 1:06:29thick and heavy that, you know, it was just like I had a whole
- 1:06:3310 lbs on my head. You.
- 1:06:36Do have that care? So I'm sure, Stephanie, can you
- 1:06:38look like? I can relate.
- 1:06:41Yeah, I can. Relate.
- 1:06:42And I just got my hair cut and thinned out last week and it
- 1:06:46just feels so much more light. And it's like, oh, thank God.
- 1:06:50I work outside so I'm kind of dying right now with my hair.
- 1:06:56OK. Well, is there anything else
- 1:06:59that we missed on baptizing the dead?
- 1:07:01There's like a lot we could get into, but I mean, it's pretty
- 1:07:07much. I think like that's the general
- 1:07:09idea of it. I appreciate that joy.
- 1:07:19What were you? Saying trying hard.
- 1:07:22I tried so hard. Yeah, I think.
- 1:07:25We got the majority of the baptisms for the dead.
- 1:07:27It's like they have the kids do that and then the adults do the
- 1:07:33ceilings for the dead. OK, what is that?
- 1:07:37I've never done it before, but apparently you can seal couples
- 1:07:41for all time and eternity after they've died.
- 1:07:44Oh, that's the Lori Mallow thing.
- 1:07:46That's where I heard you from. Yeah, OK.
- 1:07:51So that gets super weird, Super weird.
- 1:07:55OK, Like you should have someone on here that's been through the
- 1:07:58endowment session because I, I never did my endowment session.
- 1:08:03I like, I wasn't comfortable going to the temple and I had
- 1:08:07heard weird things happen and I didn't want to wear the weird
- 1:08:09underwear. So like I just refused to go in
- 1:08:13because I would like to pick my own clothing.
- 1:08:15Thank you very much. So you have to it was.
- 1:08:20Weird. And I don't want to dress that
- 1:08:22way, OK? So I have, I've never heard of
- 1:08:25the sealing of the dead. So what do they like?
- 1:08:28I, I mean, I've heard so many weird things that people do.
- 1:08:31Like I've heard when people get cremated, they want like the
- 1:08:34ashes, the ashes mixed in with the ink and they get it like
- 1:08:38tattooed on them. Like I've heard that I've heard
- 1:08:41like people do like painting like, well, you got to tell me
- 1:08:45what the ceiling of the dead. So did they do like just
- 1:08:47portraits of them or are they like just hanging up there like?
- 1:08:52No, you go and it's kind of like the baptism.
- 1:08:54So you go in and you act as proxy for for another couple.
- 1:09:00So yeah, you would go get sealed and they do the the little
- 1:09:05ceremony over. And over again we know, but I
- 1:09:07mean, I don't understand. Is it kind of how like
- 1:09:11polygamists are supposed to be together forever in the
- 1:09:13afterlife? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:09:16Like I wonder if they do like polygamist marriages after after
- 1:09:22you die because OK, because you can be sealed to more than one
- 1:09:25woman in the church, a man can. So that means like if you get
- 1:09:32divorced or you die, the man can just go and get sealed to
- 1:09:36another woman. OK.
- 1:09:38But the woman has to have that sealing broken, usually.
- 1:09:43But that doesn't mean they're married, correct?
- 1:09:45It just means. It doesn't mean they're married.
- 1:09:47Oh, it does. Because I was going to say
- 1:09:49posthumously if they're stealing them.
- 1:09:50It means they're married that it means they're married and the
- 1:09:54woman's going to be their their eternal baby maker.
- 1:09:59Because because Mormon heaven for women is you get to spit out
- 1:10:03a baby one after another after another, you're going to have
- 1:10:06spirit children for eternity. Doesn't that sound amazing?
- 1:10:10Like, don't you want to be pregnant forever?
- 1:10:11In eternity? Because I don't.
- 1:10:15There's so many, there's so many bad jokes I could make then
- 1:10:17make. Them all.
- 1:10:20So many bad jokes. Knocked up for eternity sounds
- 1:10:23horrifying and. I think that was one of the
- 1:10:26things that I never really realized about the Mormon faith
- 1:10:34is, is that when you see all of these missionaries out here
- 1:10:37going door to door or in TJ Maxx.
- 1:10:41I feel personally targeted, but you finish your sentence first.
- 1:10:46It's very apparent that the people doing that really don't
- 1:10:53know anything about their face other than what they've been
- 1:10:57told. They haven't really looked into
- 1:10:59it. Because if you look into it,
- 1:11:01then you're bad, you know, because you're questioning the
- 1:11:04church. And now when I see people like
- 1:11:10that, I'm I'm going to just feel really bad for them just because
- 1:11:16it's like, Dang, you're just, you given up your whole life to
- 1:11:22follow this thing that you don't even know what it is.
- 1:11:26Yeah, it's not just frowned upon to research your own religion.
- 1:11:31They call it looking into anti Mormon material and sometimes
- 1:11:34they go as far as disfellowshipping or
- 1:11:36excommunicating you for researching your own church.
- 1:11:40Wow. And see, I mean, the the Bible
- 1:11:46talks about how when Paul would go places, he went to Berea and
- 1:11:52you know, he was telling them everything that they needed to
- 1:11:55learn and everything, but they went and checked it against the
- 1:11:59scriptures that they already had.
- 1:12:02You know, so the Bible tells us be like a Berean and go check it
- 1:12:05out. You know, don't just believe
- 1:12:07whatever you're told. Yeah, you would think that that
- 1:12:09would be a much better way to handle things.
- 1:12:11But no, in the Mormon church, they don't want you to look into
- 1:12:16anything. They don't even want you to look
- 1:12:18into. Like they don't want you to look
- 1:12:21deeply into church history, especially because then you're
- 1:12:23going to find some really shady stuff, really shady stuff, and
- 1:12:27you are probably going to leave. But maybe you can marry Peter
- 1:12:34still when he dies. I don't know, get a check.
- 1:12:36And I was going. To know who?
- 1:12:38Peter still is, yeah. Who's that?
- 1:12:40It sounds familiar. I don't know who you, but I I do
- 1:12:43also wonder for the guys. Yeah.
- 1:12:44How many of them are like, yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm marrying Marilyn
- 1:12:46Monroe. So there's just like a train of
- 1:12:49Mormon dudes trying to go after her.
- 1:12:52OK. I would like to be filled to
- 1:12:53Marilyn Monroe. My little tangent again, yet
- 1:12:56again, because there's always a tangent.
- 1:12:59Marilyn Monroe. Rest in peace because she
- 1:13:02genuinely cannot just be in peace where she's at because she
- 1:13:07literally had the man, I don't remember his name beside who was
- 1:13:12married by the way, when he passed away.
- 1:13:15He is above her in the mausoleum and he got buried face down so
- 1:13:20that he could say he's face down on top of Marilyn Monroe for all
- 1:13:22of eternity. And then next her is Hugh Hefner
- 1:13:27who explained her images where the Playboy male Monroe stuff
- 1:13:31that wasn't even something that she took for Playboy that she
- 1:13:34did when she was still Norma Jean and she was just trying to
- 1:13:36make money in like a rough spot. And so Hugh Hefner bought that
- 1:13:40up and he used it for the first issue of Playboy.
- 1:13:42So she literally in death doesn't even have any piece.
- 1:13:45And the Kennedys, allegedly the Kennedys.
- 1:13:49That's all I asked. Me so sad like she was just
- 1:13:51fetishized. Yeah, and still is.
- 1:13:53She's a. Beautiful woman and she was just
- 1:13:56trying to live her life and I don't think that she was prepped
- 1:14:00for the stuff that she had to go through and not to mention the
- 1:14:02traumatic childhood that she had that even LED her to taking some
- 1:14:05of the well it's not that she even did anything wrong.
- 1:14:09She did like 1 nude photo shoot when she was poor and had no
- 1:14:13money. Like, you know how many people
- 1:14:16have probably done that and you know, that's nothing wrong.
- 1:14:21You know, I don't have an issue with that.
- 1:14:22And the poor thing, it's just all these years later and it's
- 1:14:25like if she did take her life and all these people still
- 1:14:28fetishizing her is insane. And then if she was murdered and
- 1:14:31a bunch of people fetishizing her is insane.
- 1:14:33So anyway, I don't know. I feel very strongly, feel very
- 1:14:36strongly for Marilyn Monroe. There's a few different
- 1:14:39celebrities that I feel strongly about.
- 1:14:42Yeah. I don't really care about
- 1:14:44celebrities, so it's not. Even that I'm like.
- 1:14:46It's not even that I'm like, oh, you know, whatever.
- 1:14:48But it's just I feel bad for them and it's like I feel bad
- 1:14:50for her. I can't believe they baptized
- 1:14:53Gandhi. That's ridiculous, that is.
- 1:14:56They're about Gandhi. They baptized.
- 1:14:59Church baptized Gandhi and. He was a weird disrespectful.
- 1:15:04You just got a weirder though low key.
- 1:15:07I. Think a lot of a lot of people
- 1:15:08are. I think almost every person that
- 1:15:10was on the list, it was kind of a weirdo.
- 1:15:12Yeah. Not, not everyone, not Anne
- 1:15:14Frank and maybe some other people.
- 1:15:16I can't tell. Somebody said that Sigmund
- 1:15:19Freud's family owns a Netflix. What I know that they own quite
- 1:15:25a quite a few. Things which Sigmund Freud was a
- 1:15:28bit of. A weirdo he was.
- 1:15:30Oh, he was. Really weird.
- 1:15:31He was a weirdo and I just found this out like 2 days ago and we
- 1:15:35were talking about this but Anne Frank was apparently like kind
- 1:15:38of queer. Like she wasn't necessarily like
- 1:15:40a lesbian, but. He was curious.
- 1:15:43But some of the stuff that she wrote, like in a lot of their
- 1:15:46books that we had to read in high school and stuff, they
- 1:15:48actually changed it to a man. But she was talking about like a
- 1:15:51woman in a female form and like the way that she she was like
- 1:15:53attracted to women and tried to sleep with one of her friends at
- 1:15:57one point and just it didn't work out.
- 1:15:59And it's like, wow, just the crazy random stuff that we
- 1:16:02erased from history for like, really no apparent reason.
- 1:16:05That is interesting. Or on a weirdo or.
- 1:16:09I'm sorry Joy. My bad.
- 1:16:13No, I mean, yeah. I say there's there's so many
- 1:16:18weird facts I know about Hitler just going diving into like the
- 1:16:21World War 2 history that I learned just like apparently the
- 1:16:24British at one point tried to basically give him chocolate
- 1:16:27bars full of estrogen to try to feminize him in the hopes of
- 1:16:32getting him to end the war. What and he?
- 1:16:35Only had one ball, right? I think so, I heard.
- 1:16:39He was hopped up on all kinds of drugs.
- 1:16:41Like. Yeah, it was Mengele actually
- 1:16:45hated Hitler's personal doctor, because Mengele actually, having
- 1:16:49finished medical school and going through this, he's like,
- 1:16:51you're literally killing him. He's like, no, shut up.
- 1:16:53And Hitler trusted this man with his absolute life.
- 1:16:56And so Mengele was kind of like told just, you know, shut up in
- 1:16:59color in Auschwitz. And so he just, he never tried
- 1:17:04to basically quit and the other like leadership would never try
- 1:17:08to stop him either. Also fun fact, he was a vegan
- 1:17:12and he is actually the first implementation of their having
- 1:17:17to be rules for euthanization in slaughterhouses in Germany back
- 1:17:22during that time because there was no rules.
- 1:17:23He was a huge animal rights activist of you bet he.
- 1:17:27Was the human rights activist. No, he's like, I love these some
- 1:17:30animals, but man, them people. I can't.
- 1:17:32Do people have to go? What?
- 1:17:35Some of. The worst people I've seen
- 1:17:37pictures of Hitler with dogs I've seen watch a video of Putin
- 1:17:41with a damn dog. Oh my goodness.
- 1:17:44He'll he'll like I don't think I've ever seen.
- 1:17:45That been like kissing a puppy on the head, like holding it
- 1:17:49close, kissing it on the head, like crazy stuff.
- 1:17:51Like I think somebody else was like abusing the puppy and then
- 1:17:53he just came and he little like it's so crazy.
- 1:17:56It's like people that hate humans love animals that is.
- 1:18:00True I. Love animals, but I don't hate
- 1:18:03humans. There are quite a few people who
- 1:18:06would rather deal with the animal population of the world
- 1:18:11than the human population of the world.
- 1:18:14There's some on on some days. I don't blame them, but.
- 1:18:20Some days it's just me and my dog against the world, OK, but I
- 1:18:23don't mean that I wish death and destruction about the human
- 1:18:27race. Yeah, I mean, it's so weird to
- 1:18:30know that Hitler did that, but yet basically set up
- 1:18:34slaughterhouses for humans. I mean.
- 1:18:36That is weird. That's so wild.
- 1:18:40Yeah, he he did that like it. It was just it was weird his
- 1:18:44again, because you look at his background and you look at
- 1:18:46everything he did as far as like all the jobs that he created for
- 1:18:50essentially just war jobs. But you know, doing his best to
- 1:18:53eliminate the poverty, doing his best to make sure everybody had
- 1:18:56a living now, albeit it was arming up for war.
- 1:19:00But yeah, he hated he hated drinking.
- 1:19:03So it because his his father, who married his niece, which is
- 1:19:09where Hitler came out of. He was a product of incest,
- 1:19:13Yeah, which is also a potential. Explanation Angry too.
- 1:19:16Yeah, might also be his father was very abusive, but his father
- 1:19:19is also a drunk so he hated alcohol so he didn't do alcohol.
- 1:19:23He didn't want to eat animals which is why he was a vegan.
- 1:19:26And then he implemented all the like.
- 1:19:28They have to be euthanized before going to the
- 1:19:30slaughterhouse rules, at least in in Germany and what not.
- 1:19:34Wow, that's wild. History is so fascinating
- 1:19:38because people are painted with just one brush stroke, you know,
- 1:19:43as far as like who they are or what they did.
- 1:19:47And yes, Hitler definitely deserves that brush stroke.
- 1:19:50At the same time, you know, finding out different facets of
- 1:19:54people's personalities and things like that.
- 1:19:59It's just. I think we should study it for
- 1:20:02sure. Yeah, no.
- 1:20:04And that, and I think that's why I love history so much, because
- 1:20:08you can learn so much about the present from studying the
- 1:20:11history, you know? Speaking of Hitler and brush
- 1:20:15strokes, if he would have just been accepted into art school,
- 1:20:17we wouldn't be having. This could have all been
- 1:20:21avoided, all been avoided if they were like, you know what?
- 1:20:23No, you can do it man. I was with someone the other day
- 1:20:27and he was making some point, and I don't remember what the
- 1:20:30grand point was, but he's like, and it's like, oh, and Hitler,
- 1:20:33if, you know, maybe if he was good at painting, things would
- 1:20:35be different. I was like, no, Have you ever
- 1:20:36actually seen one of Hitler's paintings?
- 1:20:38I feel like he's pretty good. Yeah.
- 1:20:40And actually. He was decent.
- 1:20:42He was good. I can see how many.
- 1:20:43Maybe he wasn't like, it didn't look inspired.
- 1:20:46Perhaps I was like, I don't know, man, you might want to
- 1:20:49take that back. He actually was not like a bad
- 1:20:51artist. Like, I mean, everybody's art.
- 1:20:54Self. But.
- 1:20:55Well, and at the time too, he was also, he was real big into
- 1:20:59copying postcards. So he would take portraits that
- 1:21:02were already made and he would copy them and then he would
- 1:21:04sell, he would resell them to people.
- 1:21:06So that way he could continue to at least make money.
- 1:21:08This is of course, initially before he gets introduced to the
- 1:21:12Nazi Party and whatnot. But yeah, that was some of his
- 1:21:14specialties. Was just basically copying some
- 1:21:17work that had already been done and then basically reselling it.
- 1:21:21I didn't know that. Interesting.
- 1:21:23So to get back on topic a little bit, I did not realize that the
- 1:21:31Mormon church was different from the Mormon temple.
- 1:21:35So I I did not realize that until recently that the temple
- 1:21:43was not a place that just everybody in the Mormon church
- 1:21:46went to every Sunday morning to worship.
- 1:21:50No, it's special. You have to be worthy to go in
- 1:21:52there. Yeah, and you have to pay your
- 1:21:5410%. Oh really?
- 1:21:58So it's it's based on tithing and all of that.
- 1:22:01You have to be a full type payer.
- 1:22:02You have to follow all the rules.
- 1:22:04You have to follow the Word of Wisdom.
- 1:22:09Either that or you lied to the Bishop and tell them that you're
- 1:22:11following all the rules. Some people do that.
- 1:22:14I never did. And why is it separate?
- 1:22:19Are, are they going on the model of like in the Old Testament
- 1:22:23where where they had the temple and then the church basically or
- 1:22:29whatever? So the temple is where they do
- 1:22:32all the rituals. They do a lot of Masonic rituals
- 1:22:36and they don't want people seeing the rituals that they do.
- 1:22:39So you have to be you have to be screened basically before you go
- 1:22:45to the temple and then you do you used to do an oath.
- 1:22:49OK, so it used to be that you would you would make an oath to
- 1:22:57spill your guts basically. What is it called?
- 1:23:01Sabaku, the Japanese where? They where?
- 1:23:05They commit suicide if they, if they wrong the like if they
- 1:23:10bring dishonor or whatever. So yeah, it's basically like it
- 1:23:15was until like 1992 that you would do the motions that you'd
- 1:23:18split your throat and empty your bowels if you were to reveal the
- 1:23:22secrets of the temple. Holy crap, sorry.
- 1:23:28That was till like 1992 that they were doing the motion with
- 1:23:31it too. So now they just say it and they
- 1:23:33don't do the motions because the motions creeped a lot of people.
- 1:23:36Out. So I know one of the other
- 1:23:39things with the temples too, like not, not anybody can go
- 1:23:42into the temple like you have to, like you said, you have to
- 1:23:45be an active member of the Church.
- 1:23:47I think there is an oath and whatnot that you have to take.
- 1:23:49You even have to have like they give.
- 1:23:50The temple recommend. That and I think you also have
- 1:23:53to have like a little ID card too.
- 1:23:55Don't. You.
- 1:23:55Yeah, that's the temple recommend.
- 1:23:57And that if you basically, if you don't, then you try to get
- 1:24:01in, they'll either deny you or they do have the option like
- 1:24:05they can reach out to basically like, I don't, I don't know what
- 1:24:09the equivalent to like your local priest is, but whoever is
- 1:24:13like over your church in your specific area, like they have to
- 1:24:16call to them. Specific Bishop.
- 1:24:19Yeah, and confirm who you who you are and that you actually
- 1:24:22are, who you say you are, that you're a part of the church and
- 1:24:25then they will actually allow you into the temple as far as
- 1:24:28like being. I don't think you can get into
- 1:24:29the temples without your temple recommend.
- 1:24:32Really. It's like an ID card.
- 1:24:33Yeah, and they scan it. Yeah.
- 1:24:37I mean, it's gotten to that point where, you know, you have
- 1:24:40an ID card that's got a scan and everything.
- 1:24:43And so to me, the fact that it resembles so much the Masonic
- 1:24:52traditions and everything like that, it's it basically is just
- 1:24:58a large secret society. Yeah.
- 1:25:02Yeah, So kind of along with that and kind of off topic, my, so a
- 1:25:07lot of the men in my family, all this, at least the older men all
- 1:25:10decided to join the Masons. Like they were all a part of it.
- 1:25:13Like my grandfather, my uncles, the only two that haven't are my
- 1:25:16brother and I. And of course they always
- 1:25:18offered and wanted us to. Well, my aunt's brother passed
- 1:25:22away a couple years ago and we went to the funeral and the curl
- 1:25:26I was with at the time was like, you need to join the Masons.
- 1:25:29Oh, why? I'm like, why do I want to join
- 1:25:32the Mason? She's like, well, I want to know
- 1:25:33all the secrets and girls can't be members.
- 1:25:34I was like, that's a you problem.
- 1:25:36I'm not joining them just because you want to know the
- 1:25:39secret. Keep in mind this is in the
- 1:25:40middle of the funeral. So like there are four active
- 1:25:43Masons up there. And so apparently I threw my
- 1:25:47voice well enough that she was like, you need to join.
- 1:25:50I was like, I'm not joining a freaking cult.
- 1:25:52And it was said loud enough and thrown enough that his brother
- 1:25:59believe that his ex, the Ted guy's ex-wife is the one who
- 1:26:03said it and was like livid. So my uncle comes over to my
- 1:26:07mom's house and is like livid. Like I can't believe she said
- 1:26:10that. And my mom is sitting there
- 1:26:11trying not to bust out laughing. He's like, only you knew that
- 1:26:15was your nephew that said that. You know, whenever my
- 1:26:21grandparents pass, I at least asked to be the person all of my
- 1:26:27great grandparents Masonic stuff.
- 1:26:31So somewhere in our. Ring and the robes and stuff.
- 1:26:36At least the robe, whatever they have, that's what I asked for.
- 1:26:39I asked for that and for some sex pamphlets that have Disney
- 1:26:43characters in them. You can't just drop that.
- 1:26:47They're literally from like the 403040.
- 1:26:50I'll like find a picture and I'll send some to you stuff if
- 1:26:53that's OK. But it's like cartoons.
- 1:26:55But seriously, it's like I think Disney animators went like
- 1:26:58rogue. It was Disney.
- 1:27:00It's. Absolutely insane.
- 1:27:01Like it is like Snow White and the seven dwarves.
- 1:27:04I mean, I'll send you some tutors.
- 1:27:06It's real, it's real. It's real it.
- 1:27:09What? That was a nerd in this.
- 1:27:11One's basement. No, it's we found a bunch of
- 1:27:13booklets and they were definitely from like the 30s and
- 1:27:1640s, so. I will send them to you and my
- 1:27:18grandma's like you want them. I was like, yeah, anything like
- 1:27:21sex related from my great grandparents I absolutely want
- 1:27:25in my room can. I think you're possessed or.
- 1:27:27Something not. At all.
- 1:27:29My grandma's a pervert too, but I have a trouble.
- 1:27:32I didn't say that. I'm just kidding, she's not as.
- 1:27:36As she used to be. But anyway in my room I could
- 1:27:38have a bus that was made by my grandma and or my great grandma.
- 1:27:43I'm sorry. And it's like a woman's figure
- 1:27:45and she has like something like a ribbon covering like the
- 1:27:48nether regions or whatever. And on the bottom it says to
- 1:27:51Chuck, which is my great grandpa or whatever.
- 1:27:53So anyway, they were fun. Apparently there was other stuff
- 1:27:57that she found that she said she had to throw it immediately.
- 1:27:59So I can. I want to know what that was.
- 1:28:01Like I. Have an idea?
- 1:28:02Like I thought we left this all behind when I joined the church.
- 1:28:06Yeah. See my first thought is I'm just
- 1:28:09picturing mini. Like that's my first thought.
- 1:28:16No White and the seven dwarfs. Bonnie and Clyde.
- 1:28:19Bonnie and Clyde, Donald Duck and his nephews for some
- 1:28:22freaking reason. No.
- 1:28:24Yeah, so hee wee Dewey and Louie.
- 1:28:28Anyway, I'll find some pictures that I'll send things to you,
- 1:28:32all within reason. For this reason.
- 1:28:36Huey, Huey, Dewey and Louie getting gooey Disney.
- 1:28:44I don't think any of us would be accepted in the Mormon church
- 1:28:46though. Well, no.
- 1:28:47I don't think so either. Oh yeah, I definitely did.
- 1:28:53Not so Aunt Marie. When Dad first got sick and we
- 1:28:58found out about the tumor, she put Dad on the prayer list for
- 1:29:03the temple. And I was like, what are you
- 1:29:06doing? Now You've got me.
- 1:29:07Like, no, she's not. She just.
- 1:29:10Wanted. Extra.
- 1:29:11List. Yeah.
- 1:29:12So I guess you can submit prayers to the temple or
- 1:29:17something. I don't know, prayers.
- 1:29:18From anywhere she could get it. But I get it, you know, who is
- 1:29:21to say what the one way to heaven is, You know, just have
- 1:29:25everybody pray and something my. I was just like Aunt Marie.
- 1:29:28You gave him my name and my husband's name.
- 1:29:30What are you doing? They're never going to leave you
- 1:29:33alone now, Ever. Ever.
- 1:29:36Unless you tell them that you're lesbian and then they'll leave
- 1:29:38you alone. OK, Amber, just when they call,
- 1:29:41just be like I'm a lesbian. I'm sorry.
- 1:29:43I'll. Have my husband pretend to be a
- 1:29:45girl, you know? I did say, I did say I'm a Gold
- 1:29:49Star lesbian. I should be OK.
- 1:29:51I know, I know. I might have used that a couple
- 1:29:58times and it does work OK. I say I just kind of want like a
- 1:30:02religious like battle royal, like can I put some Jehovah's
- 1:30:05Witnesses in with some like Mormons and just see like who
- 1:30:08comes out on top is like the superior of the two?
- 1:30:11They're very close, actually. Jehovah's Witness and Mormons
- 1:30:14very, very close. What's the key?
- 1:30:16Difference. I think Jehovah's Witnesses,
- 1:30:18like they, they get you with the shunning man.
- 1:30:21They they do the shunning better than the Mormons.
- 1:30:24Oh, I didn't know that. Oh, yeah.
- 1:30:26Oh, yeah. Jehovah's Witness.
- 1:30:28If you leave the church like a parent, say, say you, Amber,
- 1:30:33were to leave the church, your husband would keep Elora and
- 1:30:37your son from you because. And you can't talk to each other
- 1:30:41anymore because you've left the faith and you're now a bad
- 1:30:44person. Yeah.
- 1:30:46I had no idea. Elora would have already left
- 1:30:48the faith before Amber got the chance.
- 1:30:51I know, I know. But but yeah, like you, you have
- 1:30:55to shut them. And they have like all these.
- 1:30:58It's cartoons about shunning and shunning your family and how
- 1:31:02it's righteous. It's really sad.
- 1:31:04Amish. Yeah, I say.
- 1:31:05I was just thinking the Amish are that way, too.
- 1:31:07Like especially once you decide to, you get like your year of
- 1:31:10freedom and then when you come back, if you decide not to, your
- 1:31:13family's like, Nope, no more. We have a pretty sizable Amish
- 1:31:18slash Mennonite community around us.
- 1:31:21They've. Kind of modernized for the times
- 1:31:24a lot more. They're all driving cars.
- 1:31:27And also, so I got kind of annoyed.
- 1:31:30I told the story the other day. So I was like already like 40
- 1:31:34minutes over my shift and I just wanted to go home.
- 1:31:36I work with plants. It's hot outside.
- 1:31:39It is what it is. This is like last year.
- 1:31:40So anyway, I'm about to clock out.
- 1:31:42And as I'm clocking out without my, you know, my uniform or vest
- 1:31:46on or whatever, anything, this Amish lady comes up to me and
- 1:31:49she's like, hey, how do you take care of this plant?
- 1:31:52I was like, well, I can really only tell you what's on the back
- 1:31:55of the tag. She's like, no, you need to tell
- 1:31:57me how to take care of this plant.
- 1:32:00I was like, OK, so I Googled it and I gave her some bullet
- 1:32:03points or whatever, and she's like, OK, well, can you print
- 1:32:07that out? And I was like, well, I can't
- 1:32:10really connect my phone to the printers here.
- 1:32:13They really Only Connect to the computers that we have at my
- 1:32:15job. And she's like, well, can you
- 1:32:18e-mail it to me? And she's e-mail.
- 1:32:22Yeah, I was like, well, I was like, I mean, I don't really
- 1:32:25have my work e-mail on my phone. She's like, can you e-mail it to
- 1:32:29me? I can e-mail, but they can't
- 1:32:32look stuff up on Google. Literally, And I was like, you
- 1:32:35know what, I was like, I wouldn't typically give somebody
- 1:32:38my e-mail, but I don't think this Amish woman's going to do
- 1:32:40anything with it. And I just want to get out of
- 1:32:42here because she's just looking at me like this.
- 1:32:44And I'm like, OK, you're not taking any of my excuses to get
- 1:32:47out of this conversation. So OK, so I literally just I've
- 1:32:51asked for her e-mail and. I'm just thinking.
- 1:32:53Yeah, exactly. It's like, why can't you just
- 1:32:54Google it if you can e-mail it? Now, I assume, and this is just
- 1:32:58an assumption, who who freaking knows what's actually going on?
- 1:33:00But I was like, well, maybe they have like a community computer
- 1:33:03and they can e-mail stuff for like business and that sort of
- 1:33:06thing. So I figured that was probably
- 1:33:07the thing, but it's like, I mean, I don't know, go to go to
- 1:33:11the local Amish store that has a nursery, ask them what's going
- 1:33:15on having I don't. Know, I wonder if it's like the
- 1:33:18FLDS with with computers, like some families have them but it's
- 1:33:22only for specific stuff and they're not allowed to to just
- 1:33:25like Google stuff. Oh, really?
- 1:33:29Well, if you Google stuff it might have some crazy stuff that
- 1:33:31pops up so. It might tell you that you're in
- 1:33:33a cult and that you need help. I mean, they don't want you to
- 1:33:38find out that you know. I wonder if they used?
- 1:33:42To. You know, I'm just so fascinated
- 1:33:44that there's so many people involved in this religion and
- 1:33:52most of them don't even know what's really going on.
- 1:33:56Yeah, they don't. They don't because most of them
- 1:34:00are born into it and they're just raised with what is taught
- 1:34:05in church in the church buildings.
- 1:34:07And unless they have a family member that's like really into
- 1:34:10church history, they'll probably never even research the church
- 1:34:15and find out that Joseph Smith was a polygamist or that he had
- 1:34:18child brides or anything like that.
- 1:34:23It it to me. And they don't believe it when
- 1:34:25you tell them. Yeah, like, to me, it's kind of
- 1:34:28weird. And I mean, I get it.
- 1:34:29If you if you grow up that way, you I guess never know the
- 1:34:32difference. But like I was always the like I
- 1:34:34was always the kid. I like I say I question
- 1:34:36everything. I'm like, why do we do what we
- 1:34:39do? Like, what is this Like, well,
- 1:34:41what about this? And especially like, I mean, I
- 1:34:43went to public school, so it's probably also, you know, a
- 1:34:45terrible thing. But like, but it's like, you
- 1:34:49know, I'm exposed to like different people.
- 1:34:50It's like, OK, like what do you think about this?
- 1:34:53Well, this is how I think. This is how my parents teach me
- 1:34:55how to think. And it's like so.
- 1:34:57OK, for me, for me, my first shelf breaking moment was when I
- 1:35:02was 8 and I was living in Pennsylvania and you have to
- 1:35:06learn the articles of faith to get baptized.
- 1:35:08So I was learning all the articles of faith and one of
- 1:35:11them is man shall be punished for his own sins and not for
- 1:35:15Adam's transgressions. But this was like 1992, I want
- 1:35:21to say. And so I noticed there weren't
- 1:35:25any black people in my church, but I was one of three white
- 1:35:28kids in my class. So I was surrounded by all these
- 1:35:33black people, but none of them were in my church.
- 1:35:35And then and then I learned about the curse of Cain.
- 1:35:38And it just didn't make sense to me why man wouldn't be punished.
- 1:35:43Why man would be punished for their own sins and not for
- 1:35:45Adam's transgressions. But why would they hold the
- 1:35:48curse of Cain? You know, like that doesn't make
- 1:35:50sense. So do they still hold that
- 1:35:54policy? Yeah, they still have those same
- 1:35:57beliefs, they just don't talk about it.
- 1:35:59They're not a black man. Still not allowed to be like a
- 1:36:03whole priesthood, correct or no? You can.
- 1:36:04You can hold priesthood now since like the 80s.
- 1:36:07The 80s? OK, OK.
- 1:36:09But it's probably still not a very large black or otherwise
- 1:36:13population in those churches. They are targeting Africa right
- 1:36:17now. I call it targeting recruitment
- 1:36:20I and it actually really makes me upset.
- 1:36:23I can imagine. Do you know what parts of Africa
- 1:36:26or just. Ghana and the really four parts
- 1:36:30of Africa. If you go on TikTok, sometimes
- 1:36:35you can see these videos of American, yeah, like American
- 1:36:41missionaries. And they're, they're at these
- 1:36:44these houses like with dirt floors and they don't have
- 1:36:47running water. And I just, I imagine them
- 1:36:51asking them to get baptized and then pay tithing.
- 1:36:54And I just find it absurd to ask someone who doesn't have running
- 1:36:58water to pay tithing. Oh 100%, I have a very different
- 1:37:04look on missionaries now as an adult than I did as a.
- 1:37:07Child. And that's of any faith or sect
- 1:37:10or religion or anything. A lot of self-serving or people
- 1:37:15that want to. Colonization.
- 1:37:18Colonization, absolutely a white savior complex.
- 1:37:22A lot of times people have good intentions that are like the
- 1:37:26individuals that are signing up to like do missionary work and
- 1:37:29stuff like that, but they kind of just play into a bigger
- 1:37:32system. And a lot of people I feel like
- 1:37:35are kind of beyond even trying to explain to them how they're
- 1:37:38kind of a part of the system. Somebody that I'm very close to
- 1:37:43did a lot of work in Africa for several years and live there for
- 1:37:46several years. And he was telling me that
- 1:37:49sometimes missionaries of 1 denomination would come in and
- 1:37:52they would build like a school or a church or whatever the need
- 1:37:56was there. And then they would tear it down
- 1:37:58and they would send somebody else from another church or
- 1:38:01sect, come in and rebuild in that exact same spot.
- 1:38:05Helping anyone? It's just to try and a lot of
- 1:38:09people, and again, not everybody, but a lot of people
- 1:38:12that do these missionary trips, I think they just want to travel
- 1:38:17the world and see things because they're not really plugged into
- 1:38:20their own community, helping out with the homeless population or
- 1:38:23the veteran or whatever the need.
- 1:38:25Flint, MI here why do you need to go somewhere else?
- 1:38:28Offering the children of Flint, MI clean water.
- 1:38:31No, and that's one of the things that my husband and I have tried
- 1:38:35to do is support home grown missionaries, people in that
- 1:38:43community who then go out and tell that same community about
- 1:38:48God instead of bringing for bringing a whole family.
- 1:38:53More of a need to like provide food or shelter or all this
- 1:38:56stuff than just like, let me just tell you about.
- 1:38:58I mean, God exists. Show God through your actions.
- 1:39:00If that's what you believe, well.
- 1:39:02Yeah, and the and the local missionaries are the people that
- 1:39:05can actually show, you know, change.
- 1:39:09Some, I'm not saying this is what you're supporting, but
- 1:39:12there's a lot of places and people that will be like, OK,
- 1:39:15well we're only going to help you if you'll listen to our
- 1:39:19spiel about God. It's like none of this other
- 1:39:22stuff you get. Baptized.
- 1:39:24You know, I can't confirm if this is true or not, but I saw a
- 1:39:28TikTok video and this lady was talking about how apparently
- 1:39:34Turning Point USA might own some women's shelters or help out
- 1:39:37with some women's shelters or something of that effect.
- 1:39:41And she said before, you know, the whole Charlie Kirk thing
- 1:39:44happened completely unrelated to that whole mess.
- 1:39:48But apparently she had reached out to Turning Point USA not
- 1:39:52knowing who they were, to see if they could help her help her Co
- 1:39:56worker get into a shelter because she was in a domestic
- 1:39:59violence situation and so. It turned out that her Co worker
- 1:40:04or friend or whatever didn't speak very good English and so
- 1:40:08they're like, well, she's not going to be able to participate
- 1:40:10in Bible study if she doesn't know English.
- 1:40:12So we require that you go to this Bible study in order for
- 1:40:16you to get any help from us. So they completely turned her
- 1:40:19away and she was stuck in that domestic situation for a while.
- 1:40:22And, you know, this isn't me just putting the blame on this
- 1:40:25one particular situation or, you know, agency because who knows
- 1:40:29what really happened. But I've heard stories about
- 1:40:31things like that plenty of times where it's like you have to
- 1:40:34adhere to these certain rules or or else you're not getting
- 1:40:37helped. You want to spread our agenda
- 1:40:40and push our beliefs on you. And that's the only way we're
- 1:40:42going to give you food or water or shelter.
- 1:40:44And I'm not saying that's definitely what you're
- 1:40:46supporting, but it's like that. That's what I struggle with.
- 1:40:50But it's and it's probably easier, yeah.
- 1:40:52And it's probably easier to do that with people say in Africa
- 1:40:56who that it's it becomes a true necessity towards survival.
- 1:40:59Whereas here it's like, OK, well, realistically there are
- 1:41:03other options like, you know, it, it may not be the easiest
- 1:41:06path as far as like, well, if I can't get here in the city, if I
- 1:41:09walk or if I'm able to, you know, get enough funds to go to
- 1:41:13another city or another town, I might be have a better stroke of
- 1:41:16luck. Where is there?
- 1:41:17It's like you might have to cross a whole entire country
- 1:41:20depending on where you're at and what the situation is there.
- 1:41:23That may even be like war-torn of being able to get that
- 1:41:26assistance. So it's like, yeah, they're, I
- 1:41:29guess they would probably look at it as they're more complicit
- 1:41:32in following said rules and guidelines than anything.
- 1:41:38Joy had what Joy had the crush on Officer.
- 1:41:42Tatum, it's part. Of what turning point USAI?
- 1:41:46Haven't seen him. I have no clue and I have not.
- 1:41:49I don't know. I used to like Officer Tatum I,
- 1:41:53I think. He's anyone involved in that
- 1:41:54organization can pick. Around, I think he's gotten a.
- 1:41:57Role I love you, Laura. I don't like the race talk all
- 1:42:02the time. And unfortunately I, I feel like
- 1:42:05a lot of those people talk about race and try to pit each race
- 1:42:10against each other. And I, I've gotten to the point
- 1:42:14where I just can't, you know, hang with that anymore.
- 1:42:17But I do, I do like them. So anyways, yeah, no.
- 1:42:22And so one of the, it reminds me of Rice Christians.
- 1:42:28Have you guys ever heard of that?
- 1:42:31So Rice Christians are basically people who will say that they
- 1:42:35are a Christian just so they can get a bowl of rice or whatever.
- 1:42:38Oh, OK, that makes sense. Yeah.
- 1:42:40And, and my husband and I have always been against that kind of
- 1:42:48missions work. I mean, that's just not missions
- 1:42:50work. That's just, you know, it's not.
- 1:42:52Charity, it's, it's coercion. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:42:56No. And, and I truly believe that as
- 1:43:01of now, people need to start staying in their own community
- 1:43:05and helping the people around their life and world.
- 1:43:11Because we can complain all day about what happens in
- 1:43:14Washington, but if we don't change things in our own
- 1:43:19community, then, you know, we're just spinning our wills, in my
- 1:43:24opinion. Check under your pillow real
- 1:43:27quick, Tony. No, this is the good one.
- 1:43:29This is Braun. He's my my 21 pound former St.
- 1:43:33Kitty. He is fat.
- 1:43:37He's a thick boy. Oats got fat.
- 1:43:40Yeah, look at this chunky monkey.
- 1:43:42You can't really tell from the picture I'm sure, but.
- 1:43:45But he got he got fat. Oats is like I'm home.
- 1:43:50I'm putting on some weight now. Never read anywhere again.
- 1:43:53He didn't think he's fat compared to what he was.
- 1:43:56I don't know if this helps like give an idea like I'm 6 foot 3
- 1:44:00and about 190 lbs. That is a big cat.
- 1:44:02That's. How big he is?
- 1:44:05That's that's a big kid. He You'd think that'd be the one
- 1:44:09that was under. The.
- 1:44:10Near pillows and. Stuff.
- 1:44:12No, that's Peach. That's my, that's my torti.
- 1:44:14No, my tuxedo boy here, he just likes to bully everybody for his
- 1:44:17food. Also off topic, but on topic,
- 1:44:22Joy, I looked up the Officer Tatum person and I would have
- 1:44:26commend you at least for your like wide diverse you go from
- 1:44:31Tony. Those are two different.
- 1:44:32Tony, Zia and all. On the opposite end of the.
- 1:44:37Spectrum. Completely different.
- 1:44:39No, I mean, like, I've been there.
- 1:44:41I feel you, you know? OK, well, is there anything else
- 1:44:48that you would like us to know about baptizing the dead or the
- 1:44:53Mormon practice of all these secret culty things before we
- 1:44:59go? There's some really good.
- 1:45:03There's some really good creators out there like Alyssa
- 1:45:07Grenfeld and she has been through the temple and she talks
- 1:45:11about it a lot and she'll actually show you the temple
- 1:45:13garments and she'll show you like some of the some of the
- 1:45:18rituals that go on in the temple.
- 1:45:20It's really interesting. She knows way more about it than
- 1:45:22I do. Yeah, I watched, I've been
- 1:45:25watching some of her videos. I actually subscribed to her
- 1:45:28yesterday and the fact that she was showing like, you know, you
- 1:45:32got a hold one. Hold yeah.
- 1:45:36And put your elbow on somebody's shoulder.
- 1:45:39And it's like, what? I mean, that is a cold that's
- 1:45:42like. Oh my gosh, Amber, when you get
- 1:45:46married in the temple, so part of the part of the ceremony is
- 1:45:50anointing your loins. In the 90s, it used to be that
- 1:45:54you were like a sheet over the top of you and they touched your
- 1:45:58bare skin right in your bikini area next to your loins.
- 1:46:02The priest. Yeah, the dude.
- 1:46:05With oil or just. With oil.
- 1:46:08That's so weird. So like, they like, got on white
- 1:46:11pants and they like dressed in the ring.
- 1:46:13He had oil on his finger. Like you're wearing a sheet
- 1:46:15thing that's open on both sides and like nothing underneath and
- 1:46:21he's like touching your. Oh hell.
- 1:46:24No, the bikini area. See.
- 1:46:25That's why. I didn't.
- 1:46:26Want to go through? I'm like, no, there's some weird
- 1:46:28freaking stuff going on and it's weird underwear.
- 1:46:31So he was Diddy before Diddy became cool.
- 1:46:34Yeah. Yeah, what I'm hearing.
- 1:46:36OK. Olive oil, Baby oil.
- 1:46:37I've got a. Picture of Diddy on the baby oil
- 1:46:42that I gave to my friend for his baby.
- 1:46:45Yeah. Holy crap, I didn't know that.
- 1:46:49Stephanie. That's crazy.
- 1:46:50Yeah. I had some really, really
- 1:46:52creepy, just weird rituals. Just weird rituals.
- 1:46:58There is no way I would ever be a part of something like that
- 1:47:01When? You say that until you're raised
- 1:47:03in a certain religion or you know you believe something, and
- 1:47:06sometimes it's hard to get out of that.
- 1:47:07Maybe, but I'm the type of person that's always asking
- 1:47:09questions and I'll be like, why? Well, it's.
- 1:47:13Wild to be so aware of your, you know, the Christian problems,
- 1:47:18some of them you went on missions trips and you supported
- 1:47:21a lot of people. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:47:24I, I am learning definitely that there is a problem within the
- 1:47:28Christian community as well. I mean, I knew that, you know,
- 1:47:32but I didn't. You're more aware of the
- 1:47:34specifics of it. You knew you knew about certain
- 1:47:37things like some of the, you know, abuse and some of the
- 1:47:40weird people and you know, just you having your own experiences
- 1:47:44is in that experiences that as well, like.
- 1:47:48I mean, hello, Mary Duggar was my Sunday school teacher for six
- 1:47:52years, so. And, and Steph, you might, you
- 1:47:57might be able to detest this just from a personal experience.
- 1:47:59But like, I'm assuming for a lot of these girls, if there is or
- 1:48:02if there ever is that question or that reservation of like this
- 1:48:06is really weird that this dude's trying to ditty me right now,
- 1:48:09even though it's you just pushed for religion.
- 1:48:12You pushed to accept it. And well, even if like like you
- 1:48:16are, how much of that also included the fact of you
- 1:48:19mentioned how a lot of times you'll be shunned from the
- 1:48:21church or you could even be shunned from family members.
- 1:48:24Like, you know, for you, did you ever feel that sense of like, I
- 1:48:27might be completely alone because I'm going to potentially
- 1:48:29shut off everybody in my family, all the friends that you're
- 1:48:32relate like you're raised with and whatnot.
- 1:48:34So I mean, that's, that's a hard step and that's a hard thing for
- 1:48:37someone to ever want to be like, I know this is going to happen.
- 1:48:40I lost my full support system when I left the church.
- 1:48:42I lost my friends that I thought were really good friends.
- 1:48:46I lost my family. My sister would no longer let me
- 1:48:49visit my nieces and nephews because I wasn't Mormon anymore
- 1:48:54like I, I did. I lost my family, I lost my
- 1:48:57friends, I lost my community, everything.
- 1:49:00So that's why people stay and that's why they do the weird
- 1:49:03stuff and that's why they don't question it too deeply, because
- 1:49:05if they do, then their shops going to break and then they're
- 1:49:08going to lose everything. Yeah, their whole world view
- 1:49:12comes crashing down. And it's really painful when you
- 1:49:16learn that everything that you've been taught in your
- 1:49:18entire life is a lie it. Sucks.
- 1:49:23Yeah, no, I, I. Deconstruction on that level is
- 1:49:26like, totally different than just deconstructing regular
- 1:49:29Christianity. Yeah, 'cause there's so much
- 1:49:34more. I mean, for, for the most part,
- 1:49:36Christianity is just like, you know, a personal relationship.
- 1:49:41You know, it's not in your. In your branch of Christianity.
- 1:49:44In my branches of Christianity, it's a personal relationship.
- 1:49:48You don't involve all these other people.
- 1:49:51It's just you and God you know so.
- 1:49:54Yeah, it's, it's very involved, Very, very involved.
- 1:49:59It's, it's sad, but the next time I have somebody come to my
- 1:50:03door, I'm actually going to talk to them about this, you know?
- 1:50:06Do it. Do it ask.
- 1:50:08Them ask them questions, ask them if they know about the the
- 1:50:12church history stuff, you know. Yeah, and I've always avoided it
- 1:50:17because I didn't want. To make those little boys
- 1:50:20question things. They're 18 and 19 years old.
- 1:50:22They're still children. They need to learn to question.
- 1:50:26Yeah, no. And I'm definitely going to do
- 1:50:28that now. But for the longest time, even
- 1:50:30when we were in TJ Maxx the other day and I was approached,
- 1:50:33I. Don't remember if that was a
- 1:50:34Mormon or a Jehovah's Witness but I feel personally victimized
- 1:50:37because I have like well you can't really tell even that much
- 1:50:41on the screen but I have like 3 nose piercings, I have tattoos
- 1:50:45and I don't always wear a bra and people always come up to me
- 1:50:48like we were at TJ. Madison.
- 1:50:50Girls, they come up and then something that really like, it
- 1:50:54actually kind of like hurt me a little bit.
- 1:50:56So when we are in Orlando, I love to meet new people.
- 1:51:00I don't mind going to like a bar or a club or doing something on
- 1:51:03my own and just meeting people. But when I was in Orlando at a
- 1:51:07Universal, nobody was like that. Nobody really wanted to talk to
- 1:51:10me. So I was like, OK, whatever.
- 1:51:11So I just kind of do my own thing.
- 1:51:13So these three girls came up and they asked me to take a picture
- 1:51:16of them. And they asked, you know,
- 1:51:19started talking to me and we're trying to engage.
- 1:51:20It was like, oh, are these people that I'm going to be, you
- 1:51:22know, friends with for the night and we can go, like, drink and
- 1:51:24do something silly. Anyway, they start being like,
- 1:51:27oh, have you ever heard of like, the Church of Latter Day Saints?
- 1:51:31Or maybe it was. Maybe it was.
- 1:51:33I don't. Know, I don't even remember
- 1:51:35which one it was, but it was like oh, I was like, OK.
- 1:51:38And I was like, well my dad's a preacher.
- 1:51:39They always have a follow up question and they're like Oh
- 1:51:42well So what kind of scripture really means something to you?
- 1:51:45And I was like, my dad had something to do with me or
- 1:51:49whatever conversation. I didn't say all that, but I was
- 1:51:52like, damn, it really like kind of sunk in my spirit.
- 1:51:55I was like, man, you profiled me as a Sinner.
- 1:51:57And I was like, I thought we were just going to like.
- 1:52:00Bye buddies. I thought we were going to be
- 1:52:02sinners together, man. Yeah, I know.
- 1:52:05We're never going to go have fun.
- 1:52:07Yeah. It is, it is weird 'cause like
- 1:52:10again, it's one of the few times I'll say like as a dude, it's
- 1:52:12really nice because I have RBF and again, being 6 foot three,
- 1:52:16like I, I don't get approached a whole lot as far as religious
- 1:52:19questions. I have no idea why.
- 1:52:21I feel like I'm a very open book when it comes to that.
- 1:52:25But like I watched mom go through it with like Southern
- 1:52:27Baptist, 'cause they would, like they would, they would shit on
- 1:52:30her all the time. Like you'll never catch me
- 1:52:32wearing pants. And mom used to work on the
- 1:52:34Sheriff's Department, so she had uniform pants.
- 1:52:36It's like she can't wear skirt for the love of all things holy,
- 1:52:40but it's like I'm just watching it from the outside as a guy and
- 1:52:43I'm like y'all really pissed me off.
- 1:52:44Like just have a conversation with me.
- 1:52:46Just talk to me. Just let me do it.
- 1:52:47Let me have the conversation. Yeah, no, it's, it's so sad how
- 1:52:54religious communities treat the lesser than or, and in religious
- 1:53:03communities, the women are usually considered lesser than,
- 1:53:06you know, and it's just, it's so sad because, you know, the whole
- 1:53:11point of Jesus's message. And I'm hoping and assuming that
- 1:53:17that's what they actually care about, but I, I don't think so.
- 1:53:20Is, is that to love one another? Just love one another?
- 1:53:27And it's just, it's nothing like that and it's just so sad and
- 1:53:34disappointing. Love one another until you're
- 1:53:36two men or two women that are romantically in love and then in
- 1:53:39which case, fire and brimstone. Yeah, right.
- 1:53:43Yeah. I don't even know that Jesus
- 1:53:45even said anything about that. Jesus.
- 1:53:47Jesus did not say anything about that.
- 1:53:49Lots of other people that could have had their own agenda said
- 1:53:51stuff. And then also on top of that, I
- 1:53:54don't remember what it was, but one of the big verses it's used
- 1:53:58against homosexuality in the Bible.
- 1:53:59Like later on in that like chapter or something.
- 1:54:02It has like some other, I heard about this the other day, but it
- 1:54:05was like some crazy outlandish like rule that nobody follows or
- 1:54:08talks about. So it's like, why does that one
- 1:54:11thing matter but this other thing doesn't matter?
- 1:54:12I think God just says love each other and leave the judging up
- 1:54:17to him. It ain't none of your damn
- 1:54:18business. Yeah, Leviticus it is.
- 1:54:20And Leviticus. Leviticus.
- 1:54:21Yeah, I'll do my own research. I actually have a book upstairs
- 1:54:25that I've not been reading because I'm a lazy bitch and I'm
- 1:54:29useless. But it's like about like, say
- 1:54:31that it's about like a queer. It's about like, Christianity's
- 1:54:37relationship with like, homosexuality and how they've
- 1:54:40like, made them like a huge enemy when it was really just
- 1:54:44like a little footnote, if even that, in the whole grand scheme
- 1:54:48of things. And I don't know I I I need to
- 1:54:50finish reading. It well the fact that people are
- 1:54:52making homosexuality worse than pedophilia just blows my mind.
- 1:54:58And the fact that I'm even saying the words homosexuality,
- 1:55:01I hate that, but. But.
- 1:55:04It's just, it blows. My mind right though, I mean,
- 1:55:08yeah, I mean, there's a lot of like, as staff will totally
- 1:55:14attest to how many different predatory relationships were
- 1:55:18totally covered up and all that sort of thing.
- 1:55:20But the second that you're out and proud about the person that
- 1:55:23you are, it is a problem. Yep.
- 1:55:28Yeah, and I mean, I don't. Know they'll cover up for child
- 1:55:31predators, but they will kick out the LGBTQ people.
- 1:55:36Yeah, no, All I know is yeah. All I know is, as Jesus said,
- 1:55:40it'd be better for somebody to tie a millstone around their
- 1:55:43neck and throw them in the sea than to hurt a little child.
- 1:55:46So. And.
- 1:55:48There's a. Lot to have.
- 1:55:49Then churches need to stop letting the predators back in
- 1:55:52the building. Like once they've offended, they
- 1:55:55don't get to come back in that building.
- 1:55:57Yeah, they. Can have their own churches if
- 1:55:59they must like give them their own.
- 1:56:01Yeah, no forgiveness. Forgiveness is gods.
- 1:56:08Yeah, That's that's. Yeah, that's that decision.
- 1:56:10Not, yeah, not. Yeah, and, and anybody who is
- 1:56:15hurting a child or just anybody in general should never be in
- 1:56:19fellowship with other people, so.
- 1:56:21And you know, it's even thought that one of the translations
- 1:56:24that says man should not lay with man, it initially said man
- 1:56:27should not lay with a boy, little boy.
- 1:56:29Yeah, I don't know about all that, but at the end of the day,
- 1:56:34just the fact that people are dismissing pedophilia, but then
- 1:56:38going straight to that type of thin, you know, and making it
- 1:56:44much bigger than hurting children and.
- 1:56:48Pedos barely get any time. Josh Duggar.
- 1:56:50He got 12. Years.
- 1:56:52And he had, like, prior instances, they just weren't
- 1:56:55properly reported. And because, you know, it
- 1:56:57involved minors, it was a complicated situation.
- 1:57:00Jared Fogle gets out in I think 2030 or 2032.
- 1:57:06Unfortunately, that's here in my state.
- 1:57:09Oh, geez, In your state. I will tell you about this
- 1:57:11later. I have an idea.
- 1:57:13We need to talk about it again. We talked about it before.
- 1:57:16But anyway, yeah, no, it's like absolutely insane.
- 1:57:18Like the amount of time that people get for some of this
- 1:57:21stuff and then, you know, God forbid that you do drugs or
- 1:57:25something, which drugs aren't great.
- 1:57:26I'm not, you know, advocating for them.
- 1:57:28But you should not get more time for that then you know.
- 1:57:33What? I agree, go ahead.
- 1:57:35Oh, sorry, sorry. The other bad part is so even if
- 1:57:38they do get like a longer sentence, they're typically
- 1:57:41very, very protected. Not just and not even just like
- 1:57:46being segregated, but like one instance that mom had when she
- 1:57:51was working in the in the jail as a deputy, she had this guy
- 1:57:56because again, most inmates do not deal with other pedophiles
- 1:58:00like pedophiles and pedophiles will stay together.
- 1:58:02But if you're a non pedophile and you are that, that's an
- 1:58:05absolute no. This guy throws his mattress
- 1:58:08out, throws all of this guy's stuff out.
- 1:58:10Mom's like, what in the world are you doing?
- 1:58:12He's like getting him out of my cell.
- 1:58:13Don't want him, don't want him. But wouldn't he say why he
- 1:58:15wanted him out of his cell? So mom's like, I'm going to
- 1:58:17leave and in 10 minutes I want this clean back up.
- 1:58:21So they're. Protected.
- 1:58:22They're a protective status in prison.
- 1:58:25Correct. And for her, she come back again
- 1:58:28and he had thrown everything out and they of course had to break
- 1:58:31it up. And he's like, if you put him
- 1:58:32back in here, I'm going to kill him.
- 1:58:34And of course her, she's like, well, why are you wanting to
- 1:58:37kill him? Like what did he do?
- 1:58:38And apparently he had sexually assaulted a baby, an actual
- 1:58:42infant. And for mom, even though she's
- 1:58:46like, she's all for inmate justice, she's like, once I
- 1:58:49heard that they were going to kill him, I had to take him and
- 1:58:52put him in protective custody because if she didn't and
- 1:58:55something happened, she would also be gain charges and also be
- 1:58:59put in jail for simply for essentially being an accomplice
- 1:59:03for knowing that a murder was going to take place and not
- 1:59:05doing what she could prevent it. And for her, she's like, if it
- 1:59:08wasn't for the fact that I had you 2 to come home to my two
- 1:59:11boys, she goes, I probably wouldn't let him.
- 1:59:14Oh yeah, there. Really isn't prison justice for
- 1:59:16them? No, it's very, very rare.
- 1:59:19Sentences is it. That's it.
- 1:59:22Yeah. And then like, for instance, at
- 1:59:24least from what I've heard, cuz who knows what's really true,
- 1:59:26but like Jared Fogle apparently is kind of like almost like a
- 1:59:29king of the pedos and like his own little.
- 1:59:33Yeah, that's what I'm saying. We need to.
- 1:59:36Yeah. Apparently like he has a lot of
- 1:59:38close friends there and because he's, you know, famous and what
- 1:59:41not, people kind of do his bidding.
- 1:59:42And with that whole, a lot of people don't know that that had
- 1:59:45to do with like, it wasn't just not that this diminishes it, but
- 1:59:50it wasn't just like images or videos.
- 1:59:53It was him actively doing things, starting a fraud charity
- 1:59:57to put himself in the presence of other children.
- 2:00:00The person that ran that children or ran that charity,
- 2:00:04him and his wife were doing things to his stepdaughters,
- 2:00:08recording them. It involved animals.
- 2:00:10I mean, this stuff like like crazy, crazy, crazy.
- 2:00:14And again, 2032, I think the other guy has more time.
- 2:00:18But I'm sure he'll still be out and living one of these days,
- 2:00:22just doing his own thing. Don't.
- 2:00:25Accept him back in the church. That's all I got to say.
- 2:00:28I I totally. No, I mean, yeah.
- 2:00:32You guys are pretty good about not letting things like that go
- 2:00:36on. Oh no.
- 2:00:37If my husband and I catch wind of anything like that, we're
- 2:00:40immediately in leadership's. But I remember something
- 2:00:43happened to me when I was a kid and it was with other kids, so
- 2:00:45it wasn't like something that happened like directly or
- 2:00:48whatever. It was different.
- 2:00:49Yeah, you guys were super. You guys were super
- 2:00:53accommodating and tried to, you know, help out and so did the
- 2:00:56preacher of that particular. Church.
- 2:00:58But the youth minister or no, it wasn't youth minister, but it
- 2:01:00was like the children's minister who ended up having his own sex
- 2:01:03scandal a few years later. He like, you know, put me down.
- 2:01:06He's like, oh, I was trying to warn the kids about things that
- 2:01:10these other kids were doing and you know, oh, if you hang out
- 2:01:13with them, this might happen or whatever.
- 2:01:14And I got in trouble. I was the person who got in
- 2:01:16trouble and stuff like that. And they just allowed a lot of
- 2:01:19BS to go on, even more than I've heard since I've gotten older.
- 2:01:22And it's like, I don't know. Yeah, but we definitely.
- 2:01:28We all. Protected me.
- 2:01:29Yeah, we definitely let people know what was going on, and
- 2:01:34we're the type of people that if we ever get any hint of somebody
- 2:01:37hurting a child in any way, shape or form, or even being
- 2:01:39weird to a child, you need to get out the door because it
- 2:01:43ain't happening. That's good.
- 2:01:45There's there's a lady on TikTok that's calling all the churches
- 2:01:48and she's pretending to be the wife of a elder abuser and all
- 2:01:52these churches are saying, oh, you're so welcome.
- 2:01:54Don't even worry about telling anyone.
- 2:01:56Just just come on in. Just come on in, you know?
- 2:02:01Seriously. Yes, I'll send you some of the
- 2:02:03videos. She's got a ton of them.
- 2:02:05Like she's calling a whole bunch of churches and they're all,
- 2:02:09they're all more than willing and happy to take a registered
- 2:02:13SO who has victims and let them just come to church.
- 2:02:19Wow, is it not the same lady who's asked about baby formula?
- 2:02:22Did you see those videos? The same lady.
- 2:02:24Oh, OK. And you know, a lot of Muslim
- 2:02:27temples were accommodating. I think there was another
- 2:02:30religion that was accommodating. And then pretty much all of the
- 2:02:32Christians and Mormons and all that stuff were just like, Nope,
- 2:02:35sorry you were tithing. I told, I told the secretary of
- 2:02:38our church, I said if you ever get a call like that, you call
- 2:02:41me immediately and I will do whatever needs to be done.
- 2:02:44And she's like, OK, I. Absolutely.
- 2:02:48Because, you know, and I would always do that, but I knew that
- 2:02:53that was happening. And so I just wanted her to be
- 2:02:55aware, you know, hey, this might be happening.
- 2:02:58I will definitely foot the bill for anything.
- 2:03:00Well, within reason, you know, And yeah, somebody.
- 2:03:04Needs diapers or formula. Oh yeah, definitely.
- 2:03:07You know, that's that's what we're here for is to help our.
- 2:03:12Bank, but most churches aren't. Most churches are businesses.
- 2:03:17And they are great. As such.
- 2:03:19They say they. Yeah, I mean they.
- 2:03:21Say they say the best way to make money is start a religion.
- 2:03:24Yes. Kris Jenner.
- 2:03:27Yeah. So you've got that you've got
- 2:03:31what Jedi ISM like they you know like they literally just you
- 2:03:35know, targeted the whole Star Wars thing.
- 2:03:37I. Know talk shit about
- 2:03:39Pastafarianism. I say the hey, I I I just want
- 2:03:43to know what it feels like to be touched by the flying noodly
- 2:03:45appendage. Like that's what I want I.
- 2:03:47Do you want to be? Touched with a wet noodle.
- 2:03:50I have wet. Noodly appendage.
- 2:03:52We don't know if it's an actual noodle or not.
- 2:03:54It's just wet and it's noodly. I have a teacher that has a
- 2:03:58picture, picture of it's like, yeah, I'm touching God, but it's
- 2:04:02the Flying Spaghetti Monster. It's touched by his newly
- 2:04:04appended. I have the book, I have all
- 2:04:08kinds of stuff. I'm actually doing a deep dive
- 2:04:10on it right now. I just haven't finished putting
- 2:04:12it together. But when I do, it'll be on a
- 2:04:14different channel. But.
- 2:04:15But. It's trust me, that's like a
- 2:04:18thing. I actually was going to get
- 2:04:20ordained in the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
- 2:04:23It's only $50. Thought about that.
- 2:04:25I just haven't done it yet because I don't know.
- 2:04:27I have to do it for the video. Do it and then you could do
- 2:04:29weddings. Yeah, you do weddings.
- 2:04:32Of course, I don't really have friends that would ask.
- 2:04:36And then you can. No, you can find people who
- 2:04:38would want you to do your wedding.
- 2:04:39And then you can legally have a colander on your head when you
- 2:04:42go and get your license, your license photo.
- 2:04:45I That's why she's doing it. When I first started doing this
- 2:04:51deep dive, I was supposed to renew my driver's license.
- 2:04:54And I had thought about it. It trust me.
- 2:04:56This is like a whole thing you don't even understand.
- 2:04:58You don't even understand how deep it goes with me, but yeah.
- 2:05:02It's going to be interesting. I've listened to that book like
- 2:05:058 times. OK, I'm yeah.
- 2:05:07The guy who wrote it lives in Kansas City, or at least he did.
- 2:05:10He was out of Kansas City. Yeah, because the whole thing
- 2:05:12was made because in Kansas, I think it's Kansas City, KS, I
- 2:05:16don't think it's Kansas City, MO.
- 2:05:17But anyway, and Kansas they were like trying to do something
- 2:05:20where they were supposed to make like teaching creationism as a
- 2:05:24science in science class. And so yeah, they were saying
- 2:05:28like, oh, I think it was like in 2005 or 2006.
- 2:05:31And you know, they were just trying to push to, you know,
- 2:05:34make creationism equal to, you know, evolution or whatever kind
- 2:05:37of, you know, science based teachings.
- 2:05:39They were there, you know, talking or teaching or whatever.
- 2:05:42So anyway, so, you know, the wording of the bill was like,
- 2:05:46oh, you know, well, we just have to provide equal time to, you
- 2:05:50know, both of the theories. And so this guy, he was like,
- 2:05:53well, if you have to provide equal time to that theory and
- 2:05:56that theory, you should also provide equal time for the
- 2:05:59Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
- 2:06:01And so he just completely came up with it just as a way to
- 2:06:04spite that whole system. It's, it's a whole thing.
- 2:06:07I really need to. Finish my deep because it's it's
- 2:06:09so cool. They did similar with the the
- 2:06:12Church of Satan, which is hilarious because that specific
- 2:06:15Church of Satan doesn't believe that Satan exists.
- 2:06:18And most don't. Yeah.
- 2:06:20Most Tennessee not sure where it was but they wanted a bapham us
- 2:06:25to act to and I thought it was funny.
- 2:06:29Yeah, 'cause I, I think I remember seeing something, it
- 2:06:31was like down in Tennessee. They were like a huge a part of
- 2:06:33it. They were like, no, they're
- 2:06:34like, you got to teach about us too.
- 2:06:36Like we're just as equally important.
- 2:06:37And I'm like, oh, you're not wrong.
- 2:06:39Like it is. They'd also keep we're.
- 2:06:42Going to who? Include everything.
- 2:06:48No, seriously, I need to. I think I need oh, me too.
- 2:06:53I think I need to reach out to the guy that wrote that.
- 2:06:55I forgot his name, I knew it at one point, but I think I need to
- 2:06:58reach out to him. Although a huge controversial
- 2:07:00thing, list of the church, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, a huge
- 2:07:03a huge part of that religion per SE is about little people.
- 2:07:08But he uses the M word and I mean, it was 2005, so it's one
- 2:07:12of those things anyway. But I found via Instagram Reel
- 2:07:17this micro wrestling league that we're selling these M word
- 2:07:24passes. And so.
- 2:07:27I'm not going to say the word MMM, not anyway M I'm not going
- 2:07:33to say the word, but I bought it as like a bit and I also donated
- 2:07:37extra to their micro wrestling league.
- 2:07:40I think that was down in Tennessee.
- 2:07:42It's. Hilarious.
- 2:07:43But anyway, so I. Have their.
- 2:07:44Hey, little people need to wrestle too.
- 2:07:46They do so. So I did find out and I don't
- 2:07:49think it's all of them, but there is a specific one that if
- 2:07:52you pay, I think if you pay them like 200 bucks, you can be a
- 2:07:56guest referee in one of the micro wrestling matches.
- 2:08:00And I was like, I would absolutely do that
- 2:08:04wholeheartedly just to be like, yes, I was a referee for Micro
- 2:08:09Wrestling. OK, we're gonna Maybe we should
- 2:08:12all do that. Oh well, we should all be AI
- 2:08:18viewers. Stream boot.
- 2:08:20Oh yeah, we get. That in Texas.
- 2:08:24Tennessee, Tennessee, I have AI have a ticket for their show.
- 2:08:29I got a free ticket with it too, but I mean, obviously I didn't
- 2:08:32get to go, but I'll, I'll, I'll find it and tell you exactly
- 2:08:35where it was. But yeah, no, they seem cool as
- 2:08:37hell. I gave the extra donation too,
- 2:08:39just for you know, whatever it was just to raise money, raise
- 2:08:43money for it. I've never been to a micro
- 2:08:46wrestling show, but I absolutely would.
- 2:08:47They had a micro wrestling show in town somewhat recently and
- 2:08:50they also had a micro strip club thing going on.
- 2:08:57I thought that would have been. Hoot.
- 2:09:00Sure. To say I've never been to a full
- 2:09:03size 1 much. Better I know me.
- 2:09:05Either time. For everything.
- 2:09:07The only time I ever went to one, it was a horrible, horrible
- 2:09:11experience. I'd rather watch.
- 2:09:13I almost got recruited. This is going to become weird,
- 2:09:17but I'd rather watch women strip than men strip because I'd just
- 2:09:21be so embarrassed to watch a man do that in front of me.
- 2:09:24I'd be like laughing the whole time.
- 2:09:28As a dude, like the most unsexy thing that has ever been
- 2:09:32created, no matter what your religion is, is a Wiener.
- 2:09:35Like there's nothing you can make sexy about this little
- 2:09:38veiny throbbing meat stick that you may or may not have.
- 2:09:42Like there's nothing sexy about that.
- 2:09:45So. Yeah, whatever.
- 2:09:47I'm like, no, there's nothing. There's nothing.
- 2:09:51You know you embarrassed. To.
- 2:09:52Laura No. I'm not there.
- 2:09:54That's shoot. I can tell you all about baby
- 2:09:57three. Oh my God, no.
- 2:10:00Please. Don't.
- 2:10:01No, don't, because you'll embarrass me.
- 2:10:05On that note, I guess we're getting we're venturing into
- 2:10:08crazy town. Thank you, Steph, for being on
- 2:10:14here with us and talking about this.
- 2:10:16I know we kind of jumped around and went on rabbit trails, but I
- 2:10:22do thank you for being able to come on here and just educate us
- 2:10:26on thanks. For having me.
- 2:10:28I hope it was. I hope it.
- 2:10:29Was interesting at least. Oh, I think it would.
- 2:10:33I do have a final thought on that, and I'm sure it's
- 2:10:35something we can all agree with. There's just something so
- 2:10:38disrespectful to a person's religion or their lack of to be
- 2:10:43like, you know what? I don't care if you were Jewish
- 2:10:45or Muslim or Christian, now you're Mormon.
- 2:10:49So I think baptize you. Yeah.
- 2:10:52It's like just respect whatever they chose their wherever
- 2:10:56they're at now or nowhere depending on what you believe.
- 2:10:59So if someone comes and baptizes me after I die, I will haunt
- 2:11:02them for eternity and it won't be the good haunting.
- 2:11:05OK, no, I've heard, I've heard someone.
- 2:11:09Say that sorry. Amber.
- 2:11:11I'm going. To baptize you in Pastafarianism
- 2:11:14and you're going to swim around in pasta sauce for the rest of
- 2:11:17eternity. Hey, if you do, I want the good
- 2:11:20olive oil. I don't want none of that.
- 2:11:21I don't want none of the bad one.
- 2:11:22I want good olive oil. I'll make.
- 2:11:24Sure that they are OK? Shit.
- 2:11:27I'll make pony gets touched by someone's newly appendage.
- 2:11:33OK, well, on that note, thank you, Steph, and thank you, Tony,
- 2:11:37and thank you to everybody who came in here and hung out with
- 2:11:42us. And I hope that everybody has a
- 2:11:46very blessed evening and that you go out and do something good
- 2:11:49to change the world for the better.
