Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is kiss breakfast and we got some uh good
- 0:03Speaker 1: news and breaking news coming out of nepal now.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Yeah obviously the terrible uh disaster last week uh we're
- 0:09Speaker 2: hearing now that there are five aussies that have been
- 0:12Speaker 2: located in nepal so that's that's a total there i
- 0:15Speaker 2: think we'll talk about 43 that we're missing originally we're
- 0:17Speaker 2: down to 38 now so we spoke earlier about communications
- 0:21Speaker 2: being whacked out and all that sort of stuff but
- 0:23Speaker 2: uh they're now just starting to to find out what
- 0:25Speaker 2: these people obviously the five people that they have found
- 0:28Speaker 2: were not In this disaster zone.
- 0:30Speaker 3: If you saw that vision of, you know, when it
- 0:32Speaker 3: came through, it was horrific. It's quite incredible that anyone
- 0:37Speaker 3: would survive something like that. So, yeah.
- 0:39Speaker 4: So, these people were just somewhere else in Nepal.
- 0:41Speaker 2: That's right.
- 0:41Speaker 4: And weren't able to make contact till now.
- 0:44Speaker 3: It's been a week now. So, it's incredible.
- 0:45Speaker 5: Imagine their loved ones.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Because what's happened is obviously all the telecommunications got knocked out.
- 0:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 0:50Speaker 1: But imagine your, I don't know, your partner or your
- 0:52Speaker 1: mum or whatever is off there and you've waited a
- 0:55Speaker 1: whole week to hear from them. You would be thinking
- 0:57Speaker 1: the worst.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Yeah. It would, at the start, you'd be like, no,
- 0:59Speaker 4: they're okay.
- 1:00Speaker 6: And then time would set in and you'd start to
- 1:02Speaker 6: worry big time. So hopefully those numbers of people that
- 1:06Speaker 6: are surviving just go up and up and up. Yeah.
- 1:08Speaker 5: As the communications restored, we're hearing more. All right. Good
- 1:11Speaker 5: on you, Sean. Let's go to Nat and get some
- 1:13Speaker 5: celeb news now.
- 1:18Speaker 6: One week on from Dolly Parton's death and her star
- 1:20Speaker 6: on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has been vandalised. Photos
- 1:24Speaker 6: and videos have been shared on socials this morning and
- 1:26Speaker 6: you can see that like where it says her name
- 1:29Speaker 6: across the star, it's been like scratched out quite aggressively.
- 1:33Speaker 6: A fan who was there said when we arrived, a
- 1:36Speaker 6: custodian was cleaning and told us that a woman kicked
- 1:38Speaker 6: candles around and then with shards of glass from said
- 1:41Speaker 6: candles and scratched the star up. And then a man
- 1:46Speaker 6: came and stole the flowers that were there. So they're
- 1:48Speaker 6: investigating it at the moment. Dolly has had that star
- 1:52Speaker 6: since 1984. Yeah, what a horrible thing to happen just
- 1:55Speaker 6: after she passed. I mean, I'm guessing maybe they were
- 1:57Speaker 6: like meth heads or junkies or something. I just don't
- 1:59Speaker 6: know who would do that. But I mean, if you've
- 2:01Speaker 6: ever been to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, you'd know
- 2:04Speaker 6: it's literally just on the sidewalk. Like you don't have
- 2:06Speaker 6: to get into anywhere. It's literally just on the street.
- 2:09Speaker 5: Yes. And what an awful part of town, by the way.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, that part of LA is not nice.
- 2:14Speaker 5: It's not.
- 2:15Speaker 4: It's literally just for tourists, that part.
- 2:17Speaker 5: It's sketchy, though, right?
- 2:18Speaker 4: It is sketchy.
- 2:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:19Speaker 4: So you've been to LA?
- 2:21Speaker 5: Yeah, I did.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Did you go to downtown, like Skid Row?
- 2:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:23Speaker 4: That's confronting.
- 2:25Speaker 5: LA is not great.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:27Speaker 4: No, there's pockets of it that are really nice. I enjoyed, like, Malibu.
- 2:30Speaker 4: That area is really nice.
- 2:32Speaker 5: Or Beverly Hills itself.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Yes, yes, Beverly Hills is nice, but that area of L.A.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Not awful. Yeah, not nice.
- 2:39Speaker 1: No, and this is America, right? They have, like, really
- 2:41Speaker 1: wealthy people living in these $ 200 million homes in Beverly Hills.
- 2:45Speaker 4: But just down the road.
- 2:46Speaker 5: Skid Row, it's just, like, all homeless.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Well, they were all at the red carpet for a
- 2:50Speaker 3: lot of those premieres, and across the road, it's this
- 2:53Speaker 3: homeless people.
- 2:54Speaker 4: Yeah, you don't see that in the photos, do you?
- 2:56Speaker 5: No.
- 2:57Speaker 6: All right, and in other news, Ella Langley's Shoes in Texas,
- 3:01Speaker 6: a huge hit this year, 19 weeks.
- 3:04Speaker 4: On top of the Billboard Hot 100 over in the US.
- 3:07Speaker 6: Almost getting to the most ever, which was Mariah Carey's
- 3:10Speaker 6: All I Want for Christmas Is You.
- 3:11Speaker 4: She holds the record, 22 weeks.
- 3:13Speaker 6: I don't know if she's still sitting at the top
- 3:14Speaker 6: and could still make it, or has she.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Dropped down now? She's still at the top. So she
- 3:18Speaker 4: could get there.
- 3:19Speaker 5: Although Christmas is coming.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Oh, that's when Mariah Carey defrosts.
- 3:24Speaker 6: Yes.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Well.
- 3:27Speaker 6: Drake is trying to mooch off Ella's success a little
- 3:30Speaker 6: bit because he was doing a DJ set recently and
- 3:33Speaker 6: he played a little sneak peek of his own version
- 3:36Speaker 6: of Choose in Texas where you can hear, so this
- 3:38Speaker 6: is recorded from in the room, but you can hear
- 3:41Speaker 6: that he's singing like that instead of a cow girl
- 3:44Speaker 6: can always find, or sorry, a cowboy always finds a
- 3:47Speaker 6: way to leave.
- 3:47Speaker 4: He's singing a cow girl always finds a way to leave.
- 3:50Speaker 5: So he's doing a cover. Yeah.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Basically, he's doing his own version of it.
- 3:53Speaker 5: All right, here we go.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Here we go.
- 4:05Speaker 6: Like I said, it's recorded in the room, but you
- 4:07Speaker 6: can hear that is very clearly Drake. He's standing behind
- 4:09Speaker 6: the DJ decks while it's playing. I wonder if he's
- 4:11Speaker 6: just sampling it to see if the crowd liked it
- 4:14Speaker 6: and then he'll decide. But you'd pay massive royalties to
- 4:17Speaker 6: Ella Langley to be able to release that in such
- 4:20Speaker 6: close succession of her song being successful because he's blatantly
- 4:23Speaker 6: piggybacking off her success to.
- 4:25Speaker 4: Try, you know.
- 4:26Speaker 5: But I think the OG said it right.
- 4:30Speaker 6: There'd be a lot of people listening who aren't into
- 4:32Speaker 6: this kind of music that would think it's annoying, but.
- 4:34Speaker 4: I personally like it.
- 4:35Speaker 5: You like country?
- 4:36Speaker 4: I love country music.
- 4:37Speaker 5: It's huge, isn't it?
- 4:38Speaker 3: They're saying it's the biggest genre at the moment around
- 4:41Speaker 3: the world.
- 4:42Speaker 6: Yeah, and it's been big in America for years, but
- 4:45Speaker 6: the success never made its way here. So Ella Langley
- 4:47Speaker 6: could have been number one in the US for 19
- 4:49Speaker 6: weeks and we just never heard that song.
- 4:50Speaker 5: Yeah, but now it's taken over.
- 4:51Speaker 6: Carrie Underwood's songs and things like that are the huge,
- 4:54Speaker 6: like Keith Urban, our very own, no chart success in Australia,
- 4:58Speaker 6: huge in America, multi-Grammy Award winner.
- 5:01Speaker 5: Yeah, I feel like the country, though, it used to
- 5:03Speaker 5: be all just like, I'm a dark dad and whatever.
- 5:06Speaker 5: Now it's, it was like that. No, I agree.
- 5:08Speaker 4: I agree. It's changed up. It's because it's more country
- 5:10Speaker 4: pop now.
- 5:11Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's become quite cool.
- 5:13Speaker 5: When's your band doing country?
- 5:15Speaker 1: Not yet.
- 5:16Speaker 6: You could be, I feel, do you reckon you could
- 5:17Speaker 6: pull off the country thing? You just add a bit
- 5:19Speaker 6: of a twang.
- 5:19Speaker 5: Give us a go.
- 5:20Speaker 4: I wouldn't be able to. Sing, what's the song?
- 5:26Speaker 5: Just a song.
- 5:27Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 5:27Speaker 5: To choose in Texas.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I can't even do country, you know.
- 5:31Speaker 5: Yeah, you could.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Sing Achy Breaky Heart.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Don't tell my heart, my achy breaky.
- 5:36Speaker 3: That one.
- 5:37Speaker 5: Yeah, keep going.
- 5:38Speaker 3: I don't even know the rest of it.
- 5:39Speaker 5: No, stick to your punk or whatever it is. What's
- 5:41Speaker 5: your band called again?
- 5:42Speaker 3: The Ritzikids.
- 5:44Speaker 6: Available to see this weekend if you're in Brisbane listening
- 5:47Speaker 6: on our iHeartRadio app.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Available.
- 5:49Speaker 5: It's free, that app, too.
