Transcript
- 0:00I feel like you probably have a song that you just hate. Right you
- 0:02hear it, it's immediate tune out, turn off, run to the next
- 0:06room, because you just cannot stand the song for whatever reason. And so
- 0:09I found the list of, actually, Amanda, the most hated songs of
- 0:12all time, and this is research, this is actual study, so you
- 0:15can't really argue. And I got the top five most hated songs. Ever,
- 0:18we'll get you in a second. If you want to add your most
- 0:20hated song seven oh one two, eight h one ninety eight seven, you
- 0:23can call us or you can text us. Is there one that you particularly
- 0:26despise. We toss us up on Facebook and there's quite a few people who
- 0:30agree with me. But I apologize to our top fan, Sherry and Heather.
- 0:34They love this song and every time I hear just play it, it's
- 0:38so cringe. Oh gosh, oh my god, you're kidding. This is
- 0:41the worst song in America. I'm sorry, did you say musical masterpiece?
- 0:46I can't. Maybe, okay, you're actually like a child. Actually I
- 0:53can't. Just that's not how it's I can't. I can't do it.
- 0:57Seal has the voice of an angel. There's no disputing that. I don't
- 1:00know. No, stop the melodic journey that Seal takes you through in the
- 1:06five minutes of Kiss from a Rose, It's unlike anything I've ever experienced.
- 1:10Yes, I love this song so much. I cannot believe that you hate
- 1:12this song the worst. You know. In the day that you could finally
- 1:17download music illegally, it was like a life changing day for me. It
- 1:19was like the whole world was opened up, and I sat on my computer
- 1:23in my mom's living room, and it's like download any song from your childhood,
- 1:26you remember. This was literally the first one, the first one I
- 1:29wanted stop turning off kids from. And then that music video that went along
- 1:36with it, all dark. Yes, no, well that is a terrible
- 1:41selection. I'm sorry sorry this one though, This isn't actually a bad song.
- 1:45And I feel bad because we probably do play it on this radio station.
- 1:48But who would I be if I weren't, honest, ladies and gentlemen,
- 1:51the worst song ever, because you know, I'm all of noble.
- 1:57I just can't. I can't. And I think Making Time, even Making
- 2:01Trainer probably knows that it's like cheesy and whatnot, but it's not even that.
- 2:06And it's supposed to be this like body positivity song, you know,
- 2:08and I'm all about it. But in being you know, body positive,
- 2:13do you need to shame skinny people or skinny girls? You know what I
- 2:15mean? See you're into the lyrics of that one or is it that?
- 2:19Trust me? I'm not not. No, It's just it's just stupid wedding
- 2:24dances get real anyway, So you don't you don't like when the bride comes
- 2:29out, I'm all about that, bace about that, you know, I
- 2:31don't. And then the husband's like, no treble, I'm kidding, that'd
- 2:35be so good. That sounds like that's some choreographed to night. I know.
- 2:38I kind of love it. Well, the top five according to the
- 2:40survey this research that was done, the top five most hated songs of all
- 2:44time, Number five. I guess I could see back in the day this
- 2:51was overplayed annoying, But now I hear it and I get giddy. So
- 2:53I just went to see Nickelback. We've I mean, I don't know about
- 2:57you all, but I've come full circle on Nickelback. Yeah, I went
- 2:59through that face. It's like everybody of it was cool. They hate Nickelback
- 3:01because they were, it was overplayed. This whole album was on the radio
- 3:05for three years. This is how eventually people might feel about Taylor Swift if
- 3:08she takes a break. I think she did make the list on Facebook a
- 3:13few times. Yeah, well, you know, it's just just like anything.
- 3:15If you're overexposed to it, you're probably gonna learn to hate it.
- 3:17Yep, Number foe most hate it song ever. Oh god, I mean,
- 3:24where does this take you back? Because I bet it's you and I
- 3:27on the same page. What does this remind you of? Well, I
- 3:30mean when this radio station started, Yeah, twenty thirteen, which would have
- 3:34been when this was huge. So it takes me back to the year we
- 3:37launched the station and it's this is which is also frightening that that's nostalgic for
- 3:42ten years ago. Yeah, I know, it's kind of icky song.
- 3:45And they got in trouble with the on the music video set. That girl's
- 3:49like famous, yeah yeah, Emily Radakowski, Oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 3:51she's date doing her thing. Yeah, very attractive for the record,
- 3:55all right, number three and forgot Oh gosh, yeah, come on wait
- 4:00did you come from? Wait? Did you go wait? Did you come
- 4:02from? Anybody start dancing. My husband is the guy who's on the dance
- 4:08floor at wedding parties with this and just danced out. What do you mean?
- 4:11He's the one. Literally everybody, even people who can't dance. This
- 4:15is like the invite. All right, you losers who have no rhythm,
- 4:17come on out. Okay, so you're you're dissing all about the bass,
- 4:21but you're good with Cotton Eye Joe. Yeah, I'm good with Cote Joe.
- 4:25Okay, let me guess. Next album, the Maccarina, come on
- 4:29all right, next up on the list. Yeah, beautiful, yea.
- 4:35This takes me back to American Idol days and I love this song. I
- 4:41listened to so much in high school, every burnt CD I had thrown James
- 4:45Blunt on there. Oh I don't even wonder, right James. I mean,
- 4:49like I know, he's like done soad. He's got plenty of other
- 4:51music, but no other big hits, that's for sure, not like that.
- 4:55When anyway, can you hit that one more time? I need that
- 4:58today. I would love to play from the beginning, I mean the journey
- 5:01he takes you on where he sees the woman on the subway, the subway.
- 5:06Yeah, beautiful Yeah, BEAUTI I like this beautiful. Number two.
- 5:15I'm sorry it was number three. I missed bound, I misspoke, okay,
- 5:16number three. Number two, though, I think we can all very
- 5:19much agree on just shud it now, I mean, just turn it off.
- 5:29While a certified piece of garbage, isn't it also brilliant? You know
- 5:33what I mean? To create something so so bad it's almost a work of
- 5:36art. I feel like that's what this is. No. No, and
- 5:42then the look like if you see the music video, you almost have to
- 5:44wonder if it was on purpose. You know she is. She may be
- 5:47way smarter than all of us and just wanted to create this viral thing.
- 5:49No, she makes me want to hate Friday, and trust me, I
- 5:54love Friday. Nobody's t G. I have more than this guy. Okay,
- 6:00all right, the number one most hated song of all time. I
- 6:01hope that we all agree. You have a guest, you at least have
- 6:04an artist you think it might be. Yeah, he told you a seal
- 6:06kiss from a rose. Well it's not spoiler, but it is I believe
- 6:13widely hated. It's not the Macarena, Oh Barbie girl, it's America's sweetheart.
- 6:20Never die O stop it. Yeah, justin Bieber baby. Is it
- 6:28because of his haircut? I mean, this is a good song. No,
- 6:32so they say this might be the best song he ever sang. That
- 6:38is not true. Okay, maybe what's your favorite Bieber song? What do
- 6:42you mean? I mean just a sorry? No, you're gonna say no
- 6:46to everything. No, he had a ton of like that. That whole
- 6:48album was brilliant. Okay, you're gonna act like his best song is when
- 6:51he was four years old. Yeah, actually I feel like you're the problem.
- 6:57No, really, all about the bass? Okay, all right?
- 7:00Can this is interesting? I enjoyed a couple things looking for a new co
- 7:03host and also, if you want to add your most hated song seven Amanda
- 7:09in the Morning, Big ninety eight point seven Amanda Stills the Sea. Let's
- 7:13see brought to buy Valley Service Mechanical. All right, Well, Time magazine
- 7:18announced it's Person of the Year, Person of the best person, uh huh
- 7:23of this whole entire year. Oh my god, who is it? Taylor
- 7:28Swift? People are already losing their mind. She was also like on the
- 7:32Forbes list of the best Female of the Year, so she's blowing up the
- 7:36internet right now. And people, of course have a lot to say about
- 7:40it, but especially with Time Magazine having an entertainer, this is very unusual
- 7:44a ninety six years Time has never had an entertainer at all. Really,
- 7:49yes, well, who do they have doing? Like Gandhi? I mean,
- 7:53Gandhi can only win so many times? Right, Well, for instance,
- 7:56Bono was on there back in two thousand and five, but it was
- 7:58with a group of philanthropists. How long has Gandhi been dead? He's one
- 8:01of those guys where like, I don't was it twenty years ago or two
- 8:05thousand years ago? I have no idea. We just still talk about him
- 8:07as though he still hanging around. Well, she sat down for an interview
- 8:13and this was the first time she's opening up about everything we've been talking about.
- 8:16You know, Travis Kelsey has his podcast, so he gets to dish
- 8:20every week. Well, she sat down for her interview with Time Magazine and
- 8:24oh my god, I am giddy. She said, this is the proudest
- 8:26and happiest I've ever felt, and the most creatively fulfilled and free I've ever
- 8:31been. This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his
- 8:37podcast. This is how they got together which I thought was metal as hell.
- 8:41Metal as hell. That's ah, that doesn't feel authentic, but okay,
- 8:46because we don't really know what Taylor Swift sounds and talks like. Really,
- 8:50well, that's what I'm saying. It always seems very like she's putting
- 8:52on this act, right, so maybe that's how she talks in private,
- 8:56which is great that she's finally being herself being herself. We started hanging out
- 9:00right after that, so we actually had a significant amount of time that no
- 9:03one knew, which I'm grateful for because we really got to know each other.
- 9:05By the time I went to the first game, we were a couple.
- 9:09I think some people thought that they saw us on our first date at
- 9:11that game. We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.
- 9:16When you say a relationship is public, that means I'm going to go
- 9:18see him do what he loves. We're showing up for each other. Other
- 9:22people are there, and we don't care. The opposite of that is that
- 9:24we're gonna have an extreme amount of effort that we're going to have to put
- 9:28into it to make sure that no one knows that we're seeing each other.
- 9:31And we're just proud of each other. I don't know how they know when
- 9:35I'm in the suite or what sweet I'm in In reference to her showing up
- 9:39to the games, so I don't know if I've been shown seventeen times or
- 9:41once. I'm just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if
- 9:46I'm being shown too much. And Taylor Swift everybody pissing off a few dads,
- 9:54brads and chats. That's so true. That's exactly who's upset. The
- 9:58dad's a brad and the chance just about died when I read that, because
- 10:03that is so something you don't expect Taylor to say. First of all,
- 10:07I'm ready for the T shirt, like this is the thing now, dad's
- 10:09brads and chants. That answers a lot of questions. And you weren't here
- 10:13the other day when James and I were speculating that if they were to have
- 10:16just like the first time they kind of got together was at the game or
- 10:18whatever, and we all publicly saw it, there would be a part of
- 10:22me that felt like she was now just staying with him longer than she maybe
- 10:24would have initially, just because of the obsession from everybody. Yeah, no,
- 10:28this is real. But if it's been going on much before that.
- 10:31Then Okay, I feel better about that. Yeah good, I mean you
- 10:35were really did kind of think that it was like, oh I got an
- 10:37invite, I'm showing up, I'm hanging out with mom, and then that's
- 10:39it. It was a theory, you know. I thought maybe she was
- 10:41just looking for a good time. That's good. I mean, of all
- 10:45the things, to be the best person is really would be the top,
- 10:48wouldn't you think? Yeah, person of the year. Wow. I mean
- 10:56like you know, we won, you know what I mean, like we
- 10:58won best law radio show right with the Fargo Form, which was great,
- 11:03absolutely, But to be best person just a solo person, yeah, I
- 11:09hear you. Britney Spears. Yesterday all the tabloids were saying over and over
- 11:13again that she was going to reconcile with her dad. Now, if you're
- 11:16not following along, her dad had a knee replacement earlier this year. Then
- 11:20there was a word that maybe he was on his deathbed. He had a
- 11:24serious infection. His daughter Jamie Lynn took him in and I guess last week
- 11:28he had his leg amputated. Oh no, yeah, so he is not
- 11:31doing well. And I also heard that maybe he is like drinking again.
- 11:37He was in some sort of rehab. I'm not sure, But what I
- 11:39do know is that Britney Spears is not reconciling with her dad. She's not
- 11:43going to be sending him any money anytime soon. Those really close to her
- 11:46say, she's just not going to forgive him for the abuse and trauma she's
- 11:50gone through, and that's her decision. I know a lot of people are
- 11:52going to say, oh, you know, it's life's too short, just
- 11:54reconcile, make amends. It's much more complicated than that, obviously, after
- 12:00years and years. I mean, you hate to see a guy lose a
- 12:03leg, for sure, But even so, would you reconcile in that situation?
- 12:09I would have a really, really, really tough time thirteen years and
- 12:13you did that to me. I know, what if you had the other
- 12:16leg amputated? Just trying to see where you draw the line here, Yeah,
- 12:20no, I think even then, I think if he is on his
- 12:22deathbed, both arms stop where you're in general, Like, if I know
- 12:26that he's on his deathbed, I'm probably going to have like words like I'd
- 12:31want to have that conversation of well for you too, you really hurt me.
- 12:35Of course I love you, but I need you to up, like
- 12:39I need you to apologize to me, Like right, T get a minute
- 12:43in the morning. Seven. You remember growing up going to a friend's house
- 12:46and just like realizing how different people's lives can be in other home because as
- 12:50a kid, all you know is what you got going on in your own
- 12:54house. So you go over to somebody and you know, maybe it's like
- 12:56you don't ever eat at the dinner table, right, I don't know what
- 12:58your family he does, Like if you're just a couch family, and then
- 13:01all of a sudden you're sitting around a table with a bunch of strangers,
- 13:03folding your hand saying a prayer before a meal. It's like what that?
- 13:07Or like having to be excused before you're like done and everybody sitting there.
- 13:11Yeah, there's a lot of different things. A lot of people online were
- 13:13sharing the weird house rules they experienced as kids when they went over to friend's
- 13:18house. I always felt like people felt weird at our house because it was
- 13:20like you take your shoes off at the door, even if you had dirty
- 13:24socks. Like I remember one of my like one time, my mom's like
- 13:26your pants are dirty? Can you roll them up to a friend and you're
- 13:30like, oh boy, they were rocking Django's ohim pants. Man, my
- 13:37dad hated those pants so much. I had have like secret pants that I
- 13:41would wear, like when we'd go to our mom's house because you know or
- 13:43whatever. Yeah, as soon as I get to school, I'd change pants.
- 13:48What a double life I was living. Somebody wrote in said that when
- 13:50they went to a friend's house, there was four siblings and they all had
- 13:54to take a bath at night. And that's the other weird thing you ever
- 13:56take a bath at a friend's house. Not only did they ought to take
- 13:58baths, they had a rule at the house that you had to save bathwater
- 14:03to reuse the family bathroom. Oh no, who gets DIBs on the first
- 14:07tub? I mean, I guess it depends on where you lived and if
- 14:11the water was hot or not. But and that water gets cold quick.
- 14:15And I think some days after my kids are out of the bathtub, it's
- 14:18like, oh yeah, a kid's bathroom. Somebody would pop back in that
- 14:24wow dances, there's a little number one in there. Probably good. Even
- 14:26adults, I feel like, are a little irresponsible when it comes to out
- 14:30kids. They have no filter. There's let them fly. By the end
- 14:33of that bath water is half urine. I mean, come on, let's
- 14:37be real. We're starting to hit the shower stage with our kids a little
- 14:39Like they like to play in the bats, but they're ready to like take
- 14:41a shower. I'm like, okay, good, that's very except for I
- 14:45feel like it lasts a lot longer, Like they want to just hang out
- 14:46and they're like, oh, this is so nice. What can you get
- 14:50out? The hard thing about the shower. I remember this transition because you
- 14:52still want to be able to play with your toys and it's hard to do
- 14:54in the showers. I remember like sitting in the shower, that's what they're
- 14:58doing. It was like, okay, can we t in the wad?
- 15:00Well, no, then you're gonna get cold. I get it, but
- 15:01come on, that's funny. So if you have a weird house, you
- 15:05can remember of going to a friend's house when you were younger seven oh one,
- 15:07two, eight oh one, ninety eight seven. You know, I
- 15:09feel like I was the weird house. I feel like that's why I didn't
- 15:13want people to come over. So my parents were also divorced, and I
- 15:15remember when my brother would come to the house and we both were only children,
- 15:20and then all of a sudden, our lives glided and we were growing
- 15:24up together, and there were rules all of a sudden, like my family
- 15:28changed the rules, so like Shasta, I remember, oh god, the
- 15:31good old Shasta, and then the Schwan's Man would come to our house,
- 15:35so I remember drinking endless strawberry Kiwi shastas, like my mom didn't care.
- 15:39But then when we get my brother was around, was like only one and
- 15:45then you get the we'd have the strawberry popsicles from the schwans Man and you'd
- 15:48only get one real strawberry. You could just have one of those bad boys.
- 15:54So it was always funny how the rules kind of changed in general.
- 15:56But ye, I know, moderation for the third come and Amanda in the
- 16:02morning on Big seven. You feel like you're actually an adult? Really?
- 16:08Yeah, you do, absolutely well. I mean you got kids, okay,
- 16:12because I feel like that's got to be the thing, right, you
- 16:15know, they did a whole study Americans don't feel like they're actually an adult
- 16:19until they're nearly thirty years old. That's sort of the mark. As soon
- 16:22as you have kids, though, Pike, even this weekend with my husband
- 16:26out of town, just knowing like I am in charge of breakfast, lunch,
- 16:30dinner, snacks, dishes, laundry, like there is nobody to put
- 16:33that on. And even little things like you can't just come home and you're
- 16:37like, oh, I'm just gonna you know, I'm gonna have a little
- 16:41Mama juice and a couple cheese and crackers. That's honest, juice, a
- 16:45little red wine. Oh sure. I mean that's just like all of the
- 16:48things ready to go for the kids. And I'll show you remember pre kids,
- 16:52thinking that things were tough, for thinking that you were busy or you
- 16:56know what I mean. You mean thinking I had it together when I didn't.
- 17:00Yeah, I don't know if you remember think of that. There's things
- 17:03about being an adult though. I mean, first one, I remember when
- 17:06you get out of high school and you know, you feel like you're a
- 17:07big boy. When you go out to college and you're staying at your own
- 17:11place, that's a big one. Yeah, it's like, man, I'm
- 17:12just in charge. Well, like the first time you have to pay rent
- 17:15or you have something that's late, it's like, oh man, that's that's
- 17:18on me to a while to figure that one out. For a bit there,
- 17:22I felt like, you know, I'll just pay it when I feel
- 17:23like it, and it piles up. That's not a good idea. And
- 17:26then you know, then the movie store that you didn't return the movie to
- 17:29close is permanently looking at you cash wise video. And then suddenly you have
- 17:33a collection and your credit's core is garbage because you don't have an established credit
- 17:37history anyway. I will tell you one of the moments that my husband and
- 17:41I reflect on that we remember being like, well, we're adult big time
- 17:45here. When we built a house together. Yeah, and I didn't know
- 17:48you were so good with the hammer. I know. I mean we were
- 17:52there just nailing it down. No, but like, but I remember us
- 17:56going, do we just like we did we just buy a I was like,
- 18:00we're building this together. That was gonna be exciting at the moment.
- 18:03No. Absolutely, there are little things about being an adult that people actually
- 18:06enjoy, you know, like shopping for groceries. Sixty five percent of adults
- 18:10admit that that's actually an adult thing they enjoy doing. Really, Oh,
- 18:12it's the worst thing in the world. Do me. I do all of
- 18:15it, and even locally, I shop local, but I do it all
- 18:18online. Like I I cannot stand going into the grocery store. It drives
- 18:23me crazy. I have no sense of like I just like grab and buy.
- 18:26It's like no, if I do it online, I'm like, this
- 18:29is exactly what I mean. Yeah, it was supposed to be go hungry.
- 18:30Oh that's the worst. Yes, yeah, yeah, but then people
- 18:33just don't know how to act in a grocery store. So that's part of
- 18:36the problem. Balancing their budget. Another thing adults over sixty percent of people
- 18:40enjoy doing. And that's what I do find very enjoyable. I don't know
- 18:44it's therapeutic. It's just like something I've really learned to enjoy. I got
- 18:48I got a whole spreadsheet, you know, constantly just like ah, we
- 18:51spend this much, yere, we do this much here, we got this
- 18:52much for that to redo ours because I had it when we had built our
- 18:57house and went through everything. And now we've added different things like proboy you
- 19:02need that tighten the belt a little, and it does help. I mean,
- 19:04it's amazing once you realize like how much you're spending in certain places,
- 19:07and that is a lot of years of just not paying attention whatsoever. Just
- 19:12yeah, money goes in, money goes out, not paying attention at all.
- 19:15What about doing dishes? Somehow some people enjoy that. I mean,
- 19:21I do them, but it's not bringing joy to me. I guess the
- 19:25joy to me is like when they're all put away or they're in the dishwasher,
- 19:29like there's never a dish in our saying when I come home or anyonehen
- 19:30I open up the dishwasher to put some dirty dish in there, and it's
- 19:33empty. Just the dish fairy got to it. I just go, wow,
- 19:38I love this. My favorite thing. I think the single best thing
- 19:41when I got to college and I realized, like wow, I'm an adult
- 19:45is the realization that you can just eat whatever you want. And this is
- 19:48probably not the healthiest thing, but just you know what I mean, nobody
- 19:51can tell you, no, nobody can tell you that, oh we have
- 19:52food at home, you could just eat out seven times a day, you
- 19:56know what I mean? I mean, Yeah, I got I gonna get
- 20:00giddy talking about don't you feel that way? Like today? If you and
- 20:03I wanted to go to who hat we could that to me, that's the
- 20:07fact that this is where your head's at That's hilarious. Always where my head's
- 20:11at every single day. You could eat out, Yeah, I could go
- 20:14get fries at McDonald's, go get a roast beef at Rby's. Just make
- 20:17an old day, finish off with dessert at the DQ. What time are
- 20:21you hitting the gym? Brow, I'm just kidding. That's the other thing
- 20:22I don't have to work out either, Like get a meda in the morning
- 20:29on Big Nutty eight point seven trending. Now here's what you need to know.
- 20:33Well, yesterday I needed steep percent approval, and that ballot measure for
- 20:37that one hundred and forty million dollar Fargodome expansion and convention center failed to pass.
- 20:44Just under fifty two percent of people voted yes almost, which is a
- 20:48bummer because for those of you who are falling along with it, it's kind
- 20:52of now dead in the water. I mean it was a special election,
- 20:55and I mean not entirely. I mean obviously it's not like they're not allowed
- 20:59to ever make an improvement to the Fargodome again because it failed, Like you
- 21:03know, something could happen down the road, but just at this time.
- 21:04So just a bummer. I was really excited after looking at those renderings,
- 21:08I'm like, hush, yeah, it would be nice. I'd had that
- 21:11New Fargo Doome smell. I bet sure did. And the Bison they're going,
- 21:18sorry, don't apologize. I bet there's people just chuckling right now,
- 21:25going, I don't know if that there is what. I bet there's people
- 21:27right now going, man, I wonder what that I mean, the New
- 21:30Fargo Doome smell, because when I think of the Fargo Doome smell, I'm
- 21:33thinking of the the Olmens, like the shirt, oh, the Bavarian almos.
- 21:37Yes, so that was what That's where my uh popcorn, that's where
- 21:41my sniffer went. Yeah, yeah, they should make that an air freshener
- 21:45new Fargo Doome scent. All right. So the Bison they're headed to South
- 21:48Dakota on Saturday, and there were a lot of Bison fans right after the
- 21:52Montana game they were getting their tickets. Well, a lot of people found
- 21:56out about the keyword. It was called all you had to do was put
- 21:59in plays to get these tickets for the game. And these were only supposed
- 22:03to be for season ticket holders and boosters for USD, but they used the
- 22:08keyword and they got in well, yesterday, I guess somebody at their ticket
- 22:12office was going through and the like not a ticket holder, not a part
- 22:15of the boosters, and booting all of these Bison fans out. So they
- 22:19got a refund for their tickets. But now the tickets are sold out,
- 22:22so they couldn't get tickets to the game, and the people who are hoking
- 22:26these tickets are putting them up for like two hundred and twenty four dollars.
- 22:30Yeah, well, they're obviously desperate. You know, they need every advantage
- 22:33they can get to beat the buys, and so I guess they want to
- 22:36play dirty. We'll play dirty. Didn't we lose to them though? Well
- 22:38yeah, but we weren't playing as good as we are now. Well course,
- 22:41holiday just curious. I'm making sure i'm getting myself. Dakota's right,
- 22:45and where we're at. I think I think they lost to both of them,
- 22:48right, I think we're zero and too in South Dakota, But I'm
- 22:51not not. After Saturday, you know, they say it's hard to beat
- 22:55the Boyson twice field, saying, yep, weatherwise, it's going to beautifl
- 23:00today, sunny, high of about fifty three. And if you have not
- 23:03put your Christmas lights up. You probably could go ahead and do that the
- 23:06next couple of days. In fact, it's about four hundred dollars worth of
- 23:10lights that the average home is putting up outside of their home every year.
- 23:15That's asinine. I don't think that is really happening. I would think now
- 23:18with because it's probably a lot easier to do the blow ups and the inflatables.
- 23:22We have a lot of those in our neighborhood this year. Yeah,
- 23:25this is easy and easy to take down. You have to get up on
- 23:26a room, That's what I'm saying. Many injuries a year from Dad's going
- 23:30up on the roof trying to hang the lights up. Probably quite a few.
- 23:33Probably, Yes, in fact, i'd say staggering. Yeah, you
- 23:36know what I mean. I don't care to put them outside, mainly because
- 23:40we don't get to really enjoy them. And I know they're for other people
- 23:42because in the mornings, I love being able to go to work and see
- 23:45in the Christmas life. That's the best. Yeah, And that's why I
- 23:48love, like, you know, the banks and stuff which just make these
- 23:52giant displays. Yeah, happy here he is they have all their lights up
- 23:55on there. I love that Sanford Hospital. Incredible. So thank you for
- 23:59everybody for the work you do. Where you live. They have like ornaments
- 24:03out like a really cool area that you could go and take a picture.
- 24:06Yep, yep. When I picture up from work the other day, I
- 24:07noticed that, I'm like, oh yeah, it's a real photo op for
- 24:11Instagram. It is. I have to come over some time. What do
- 24:14you guys this weekend? Just bring the family over? Adorable all right again,
- 24:18the weather is going to be great today and it is winos. Women
- 24:22in need of sanity today from Forntel six o'clock. We're going to be over
- 24:26at the Grotto forty fifth Street, thirty second Avenue that's right behind here.
- 24:29Success. But they have great drink specials. Half priced bottles of wine ninety
- 24:33nine cent for those selters, those plum and petals, great food from the
- 24:36tavern. It's a blast. Oh it's a good vibe. We'll see you
- 24:37there. Whinos like it a minute in the morning on Big Nutty eight point
- 24:44seven. Like my step mom is hounding me for a Christmas list. I'm
- 24:47like a thousand years old and I still have to write out a Christmas list.
- 24:49I love this. She won't let me text her. She's like,
- 24:52now you gotta write it down. So I'm trying to make stuff up that
- 24:55I want and I can't think of anything. You are always a sock guy.
- 25:00You always say if you were to win the lottery, you would get
- 25:02socks and you would never wear another paragrapt. She did threaten me, she
- 25:06said, if I don't get a Christmas list by this day, you're getting
- 25:08whitey tidies, which is a throwback to the child and yeah, you know
- 25:11where now you know I don't, Amanda, I don't wear a lot of
- 25:15whitey tidies. That would be that would be nice, pines. I prefer
- 25:21my under to be a darker tint. Yeah, little Joe Boxers. What
- 25:25is it that your kids want for Christmas? You can sure let Santa no
- 25:29directly. Actually, we have the Santa hotline set up. We have a
- 25:32deal with Santa in the North Pole, and so you call seven oh one
- 25:34four nine nine six nine zero three you'll hear Santa Claus himself. He leaves
- 25:37the voicemail and then it beeps, and kids just let Santa know what they
- 25:41want. Like this kid, I want a toy cat, a toy cat
- 25:47that is adorable and me as a parent, because you know, a toy
- 25:52one is a great start. Yeah, they don't poop and peet exactly,
- 25:55That's just it. And then this one, Hi, Sandra, this is
- 25:59Kai Christmas. I want a sweater for my doll Connor. Good sweater for
- 26:06a little doll Connor. How selfless you know, not for her, but
- 26:10for her doll Connor? And what a weird name for a doll? Why
- 26:14did you ever name your kid your doll's anything weird? I don't remember having
- 26:18dolls like I don't. I don't you get a weird childhood from what I
- 26:21gathered. I don't think I had a cabbage patch doll. Really tell me
- 26:23you at least had beanie babies few, not over that you didn't have the
- 26:27garbage sack full like every other kid, Colley pockets, that kind of thing.
- 26:30Don't tell In nineteen ninety seven was insufferable because it was just like,
- 26:34see you as the most beanie babies, and I was in there with one.
- 26:38Oh, I had one. It wasn't a doll. It was a
- 26:41reindeer, like a stuffed reindeer. Cute, but we used it was a
- 26:44year round reindeer and we named him or I named him Reindeer creative, like
- 26:48I'm still in the bed when I go home. Is it really, oh,
- 26:52Pius, I mean it's just another pillow, you know. No,
- 26:56I love that. Yeah, yeah, Well seven on one four zero three.
- 27:00Get your kids to give the Santa Claus hotline a call and you might
- 27:02even hear them on this radio show. If that's something you would actually like,
- 27:07maybe you tell your step mom for Christmas, you want Reindeer back,
- 27:11and then you could bring Reindeer to your house and edit to I like that
- 27:15old Fraindier has a place in our home. It's just more of a nostalgic
- 27:18thing when I go home. And not to mention, I threw up on
- 27:22him once and so now is furs all mad it up because we had to
- 27:23wash him. Yeah, yeah, that's a tough one, a tough look.
- 27:26But it'll happen. Like it a minute in the morning, big Nutty
- 27:30eight point seven. We try to do it anyway. We try to get
- 27:34people out of that friend zone, especially this time of year. You know,
- 27:37it's a season of love. So this guy hit us up about a
- 27:41friend he has. His name is Jason, and he's here on the phone.
- 27:45Good morning, Jason, how you doing. Hey, I'm doing pretty
- 27:48good. Well. I hoping you're going to be doing a whole lot better
- 27:51by the time this phone calls over. Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for
- 27:53too. That is the goal is always with our friend zone. All right,
- 27:57So tell us about Ashley. Is the girl's name, right, Ashley
- 28:00is her name. We have been really good friends for a while now,
- 28:07some years, So you would say you are pretty at this point anyway,
- 28:10you're pretty firmly in the friend zone. You know. I would like to
- 28:14think I'm not. Oh, but I think that's what we're going to have
- 28:18to find out. I think I've been pretty clear about my feelings for her.
- 28:25How is she reciprocated those feelings? She you know, she giggles and
- 28:30laughs and felt like maybe she didn't think I really felt the way I felt
- 28:37because she was in a relationship, and of course I wouldn't push those boundaries,
- 28:41and uh yeah, yeah. But she's been single for some time now,
- 28:47and so I have this holiday party coming up, and I think that
- 28:51if I can ask her to the holiday party and we can go be married
- 28:56together. And there you got, all right, So you think you think
- 29:02it, you'd be like Ashley to be your little plus one to this part.
- 29:04Now, is this like a company party? Is this a friend get
- 29:07together? Yeah? No, it's the company party. Oh boy, introducing
- 29:11to the coworkers to that. That's a big step, dude, but we're
- 29:12willing to give it a try. So here's how this works. We're gonna
- 29:15put you on hold. You hang quiet, you'll be able to hear everything.
- 29:18But we're gonna talk to Ashley, hopefully get her side of it,
- 29:22see how she feels, if she's willing to share that information, and then
- 29:26ideally this thing's gonna end with a little invite to the holiday party, I
- 29:30hope. So yeah, all right, Hello, good morning. Is this
- 29:37Ashley by chance? Yeah? Yeah, Ashley. You don't know us,
- 29:42or maybe you don't. Hey, Bike and Amanda. In the morning,
- 29:45we do a local radio show here in Fargo on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 29:49Oh yeah, I listen to you guys. Hi, how are you
- 29:52good? I appreciate that. Thank you? We do, uh huh,
- 29:56okay, starting to catch you early. I know this is weird, but
- 30:00we do have something we want to bring up to you. Because we do
- 30:02a little thing on our radio show called the friend Zone. Where people reach
- 30:06out to us, they find themselves in well, the friend zone, and
- 30:08so we try to get them out of that. So you happen to be
- 30:11a part of the one. Today, somebody we know has told us they've
- 30:15got a crush on you. Oh god, are you guys? We are
- 30:22very serious? Are you single? I guess? But I just feel like,
- 30:29is this a prank or something? You can see why you might think
- 30:34that any idea? Who that might be? No, honestly, so a's
- 30:42a guy that I mean, Amanda, would you this is somebody she's pretty
- 30:47close with. I would say, so you've known him for a really long
- 30:51time. I might have an idea, but I might I think that I'm
- 30:56wrong. Well, let's see you, let's see you throw a name at
- 31:02us. If there's somebody that just came to mind who's really close to you
- 31:06and you may know that he likes you, Maybe it's that guy? Is
- 31:10it? Maybe? Uh? Jason Ding Dan Ashley, You got it?
- 31:19It is Jason. Tell us about Jason. Tell us about your relationship with
- 31:23this guy, Jason? How you would describe it anyway? Where is my
- 31:29best friend? This is such a joke to me? Oh my god?
- 31:33Like yeah, Well, he is like just the sweetest but we're just we've
- 31:38always just been friends. Nothing. Okay, would you consider dating him?
- 31:44Where are we at here? I'm not sure. I guess I just never
- 31:48really looked at him like that. I don't know. He's your friend?
- 31:53But do you find him attractive? Would you say? O? Good question?
- 31:59Yeah? I mean he's cute, good enough? Good enough? Would
- 32:05you be interested in hearing what he had to say? I'm sure this crazy
- 32:10thing, Ashley. Jason's actually on the phone right now. He has been
- 32:14the whole time. Oh gosh, say good morning to Jason. Your friend
- 32:20boy's up, Ashley. How are you I I'm good? How are you?
- 32:30Okay? I'm good now now that we've got the awkward part out of
- 32:36the way, Jason, after hearing all that, is there anything you want
- 32:38to say to Ashley? Oh? I think that we should give it a
- 32:45shot. And I can make you laugh all the time. You know what,
- 32:51you know what we could do if you want? I have the office
- 32:55holiday party coming up, and maybe want to be my plus one. You
- 33:00know, we can go drink champagne and together we could be married. Right
- 33:09there, we go, that's not get married, just be married together.
- 33:14I just don't want there to be in a confusion. Oh gosh, yeah,
- 33:22okay, I'm down for it. I just want to make sure that
- 33:27no matter what goes on, that we just don't run our friendship. Yeah,
- 33:36thank you, La la La. Let's get off the radio. Yes,
- 33:43you guys, go do your thing, go to the holiday party,
- 33:46have fun, see where it goes. Of course, protect the friendship.
- 33:49But you know what the heck is this a wind particular. It's a win.
- 33:52Guys, Thank you very much. Thank you, and Amanda in the
- 33:57morning on sign. You know, all year we'd like to be able to
- 34:00give back with our big ninety eight point seven Christmas wish, but especially this
- 34:04time of year, Amanda, we like to ramp it up because it's just
- 34:07the season of giving for sure. Yes, and we have a very special
- 34:09girl we're about to speak to. Her name is Addison and she's only ten
- 34:14years old, fifth grade. In a year ago she found out some very
- 34:17difficult news and she's been battling ever since. So we have her mom,
- 34:21Lindsay on the phone right now. Good morning, Lindsay, how are you
- 34:23hello? So we want to chat with you and of course your daughter Addison,
- 34:28who we're going to talk to here in a second, but can you
- 34:30tell us sort of what your family's gone through over this last year. So
- 34:35on Christmas Eve last year, Addison developed a really bad headache and we couldn't
- 34:39control it with ivy profin or tylenol, so we decided to bring her in
- 34:45to the emergency room at Stanford Hospital in Fargol. They thought, you know
- 34:49what, something is off, so they did a scan on Addison and that's
- 34:52when our life truly just changed forever. They found a Gulf fall sized mask
- 34:58in her. Sarah Beellum and that's just when our journey in this new life
- 35:02began. Oh my gosh, So you're coming up on almost a year of
- 35:06this just horrific news that you receive and what has gone on over this past
- 35:09year. Yeah. So we then got admitted that evening on Christmas Eve at
- 35:15Samford Children's Hospital and firego that's when you found out it was on Christmas Eve.
- 35:20It was that evening. Yet, Oh so that's good. I mean,
- 35:22obviously there's no good day for it, but for Addison, who is
- 35:27obviously as a kid, just that just had to be the way we're starving
- 35:30for it. Yes, it was definitely challenging in so many ways. So
- 35:34then that evening we got admitted to Stamford Children's Hospital and on December twenty sixth
- 35:39she had brain surgery to remove the math and so that was, you know,
- 35:45a very challenging day just of waiting and hoping and praying. But the
- 35:51surgery went well, and we're so thankful for the expert staff at Samford Children's
- 35:54Hospital and what they did for Addison and our family. This is really cool
- 35:59because Lindsay, you have Addison next to you, who I'm told really wanted
- 36:02to be able to share her story and what she's been going through and how
- 36:06she's been just battling over this last year. So good morning, Addison.
- 36:09How are you? I'm doing good? Oh how old are you Adison?
- 36:14I'm ten? Wow? Ten years now. Addison? Have you ever talked
- 36:16on the radio before? No, I haven't. Thank you so much for
- 36:20having your first time be with us. We're honored to be able to talk
- 36:22to you. Could you just kind of tell us how it's been going.
- 36:25I think it's been doing good. I've been to a lot of different places,
- 36:30like I've been to Stamford, I've been to Mayo. That's a lot
- 36:34of going for a little girl. Who what grade are you in? I'm
- 36:38what are some of your favorite things to do? I like to figure skate,
- 36:43skate, that's a fun one. I tried to get on skates recently
- 36:45and it's just, you know, if you guys make it look so easy,
- 36:49I always follow on my butt. So what's your dream? Do you
- 36:52want to be an Olympic figure skater? What do you what do you hope
- 36:54to be? I want to be a nurse. I want to be a
- 36:57college here in on call nurse. That is so amazing, And I'm sure
- 37:01that's probably because the time you've spent around so many nurses. Yes, oh,
- 37:06I'm sure it's become your second home when you're spending so much time with
- 37:08all of these nurses and doctors. Yes. Yeah. After we left Mayo,
- 37:13then we came back and now she's been doing the rest of her chemo
- 37:16therapy treatment at Roger May's Cancer Center and then Stamford Children's Hospitals. Addison is
- 37:22continuing on with treatment and we're hopeful maybe at the end of February twenty twenty
- 37:28four, she'll be done with her chemotherapy treatment and then we'll move on to
- 37:32just doing MRIs for the rest of Addison's life and just continuing doctoring and kind
- 37:37of going from there. We can only imagine Mom how hard this has been
- 37:42financially on you guys, But ultimately, you know, as a parent,
- 37:44you do whatever you can for your kids. I keep thinking from the second
- 37:46you told us that last Christmas Eve your life changed, and you're coming up
- 37:51on a year, and we just want to make sure that this Christmas is
- 37:54extra special for you guys. Through donations throughout the year, we would like
- 37:58to give you guys a gift of one thousand dollars. My goodness, thank
- 38:01you, Thank you so much. Our family is so grateful. You know,
- 38:06a cancer diagnosis is just very financially overwhelming and hard for a family.
- 38:10But throughout this whole journey, we've just felt so supported by family, friends,
- 38:15co workers, the community. I just feel people have wrapped their arms
- 38:17around us. We just truly have not left our side for this whole past
- 38:22year. And Addison, have you been feeling all that joy as well?
- 38:24Yes, you're such a warrior. You can just hear it in your voice,
- 38:28the joy you're bringing to the world and just keep fighting. Okay girl,
- 38:30Thank you, Yes, thank you You're such a strong girl. Do
- 38:34you have anything you want to say to everybody listening to you and your story.
- 38:37Thank you for supporting our family.
