Wisconsin’s getting a new bike-themed specialty license plate, designed by the legendary David Hornung—creator of the classic “America’s Dairyland” plate. Inspired by rolling hills and Lake Winnebago, the design features a family in helmets, spotlighting safety. Thanks to board member Melissa Putzer’s grassroots campaign and Hornung’s free pro bono work, the project overcame startup hurdles. Each $25 plate will fund safety programs across all 72 Wisconsin counties, hitting the road by early March next year—perfect for cyclists to show pride and promote safe sharing of the road.
