- Lucas: Hei, Luna! Ready for another Norwegian episode? Luna: Hei, Lucas! Yeah, I am. So, what are we learning today? Lucas: Today we're going to learn the verb 'å plukke'. That means 'to pick'. Luna: Å plukke. Like picking flowers? Lucas: Exactly. Or picking apples. Let's start with the infinitive: å plukke. Luna: Å plukke. Lucas: Good. Now in present tense: 'jeg plukker' — I pick. Luna: Jeg plukker. Lucas: Perfect. So if you want to say 'I pick flowers', it's 'jeg plukker blomster'. Luna: Jeg plukker blomster. That sounds nice. Lucas: It does. Let's try a question: 'plukker du blomster?' — do you pick flowers? Luna: Plukker du blomster? Lucas: Right. And you can answer: 'ja, jeg plukker blomster'. Luna: Ja, jeg plukker blomster. Lucas: Now, another common phrase: 'plukke epler' — to pick apples. Luna: Plukke epler. That makes sense for fall. Lucas: Exactly. So 'jeg plukker epler' — I pick apples. Luna: Jeg plukker epler. Lucas: Let's put it in a little scene. Imagine you're at an apple orchard with a friend. You say: 'jeg plukker epler. plukker du?' I'm picking apples. Are you? Luna: Jeg plukker epler. Plukker du? That's easy. Lucas: Now another useful phrase: 'plukke opp' — to pick up. Like picking something up from the ground. Luna: Plukke opp. So 'jeg plukker opp boken'? Lucas: Exactly. 'Jeg plukker opp boken' means I pick up the book. Luna: Jeg plukker opp boken. Lucas: Great. Let's practice all these. Repeat after me: å plukke. Luna: Å plukke. Lucas: Jeg plukker. Luna: Jeg plukker. Lucas: Plukke blomster. Luna: Plukke blomster. Lucas: Plukke epler. Luna: Plukke epler. Lucas: Plukke opp. Luna: Plukke opp. Lucas: Now let's try a little dialogue. I'll ask you: 'plukker du epler?' Luna: Ja, jeg plukker epler. Lucas: And then I say: 'jeg plukker også epler. vi plukker epler sammen.' Luna: Åh, I get it. We pick apples together. 'vi plukker epler sammen.' Lucas: Right. 'sammen' means together. So 'vi plukker epler sammen'. Luna: Vi plukker epler sammen.
